We purchased nearly $3,000 worth of furniture and bought a Protection Plan thinking it was a good protection for our furniture investment. One year later the bottom drawer gets stuck and the wooden board cracked when trying to open it. Thinking everything was okay, I called Guardian to file a claim since it says in the contract that “accidental breakage of wood frame or structure or other hard surface from a single incident“ is covered; however they denied my claim with no grounds. First saying it had to be related to one incident which it was, then changing their reason for denying it after I didn’t just accept the generic copy and paste email they send to everyone denying their claim. From reading the reviews they sent the same email word for word to 100 other people.

This company is a scam, and I would bet that any positive reviews come from employees or hired actors. I wish I had reviewed this company prior to purchasing. I will be canceling my plan and using the pro-rated reimbursement to fix my furniture. And I will NEVER purchase from this company again. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB, Attorney General and write a letter to the governor, and my state’s congressmen to inform everyone I know of this company’s unethical business practices and taking people’s hard earned money while offering no value in return. It is like stealing from people. Stay far away from this company.

We've used Guardian several times and it has been wonderful. They were able to send a technician in less than a week. Their technician came out recently for a loveseat that was peed on by a child. He came in a timely manner and did a great job. It worked well, so we've been pleased.

Submitted my claim a week ago. The pretyped response was sent almost immediately stating I need to provide a copy of the receipt of purchase and a picture of the furniture. Upon receipt of the required items, they would respond within 1 business day with an update. I did both. Provided both requested items within 24 hours. Two business days went by and I heard nothing. Sent the info again. Two more days and still nothing. It's been a week and there is NO EXCUSE to not respond to a customer who has paid for a warranty expecting professional mannerisms when dealing with a claim. I will definitely hit all medias to report this company regarding lack of following through. Considering legal action as well. Doesn't deserve a star, but this review site requires at least one.

DO NOT BUY THIS 'Protection Plan'. I purchased $3,500 worth of furniture from Ashley Furniture in Pensacola, FL. and was told by my salesperson, Danah, that this warranty plan covers everything except for pet stains/damages. WHAT A SCAM. They denied my liquid ring claim because the furniture is now starting to lift and chip off DUE TO THE WATER DAMAGE FROM THE LIQUID RING but they state that it is due to "wear and tear" and refuse to honor the warranty even though in the contract it states that they will cover "accidental gouge, heat mark or liquid ring from specific incident. Accidental breakage of wood frame or structure or other hard surface from specific incident." Good luck getting anyone on the phone, I waited over an hour and got nowhere.

I wish I had thought to look up reviews on this company before getting their warranty for our sectional. The store that sold us our couch sold us on the warranty raving about what a great deal it was and since we liked and trusted their products I assumed they would only offer the same quality protection plans...wrong! I called in on a Monday morning to start a claim since we had gotten a tear in a couch cushion cover, simple fix right? I was then sent an email that I was supposed to respond to with picture proof of my warranty purchase and my damaged cushion and I would be contacted back within 24hrs.

Fast forward to Wednesday I decided to give them a call since I hadn’t heard anything and was told by the rep that she couldn’t talk to be without talking to my boyfriend first. I asked why since I’m the one who called Monday and started the claim, I purchased the furniture and warranty, and I gave them my email and contact info and that he wasn’t even home. She refused again so I told her I wanted a manager and then magically she was able to speak to me. I was told they never received my email and she gave me another email address to try. Big shock to get a response the next day with them denying the claim...NOT! Thankfully it’s an easy fix that we can repair elsewhere but what is the point in purchasing a protection plan that specifically covers rips and tears if they won’t help you. I will be giving them and anyone else who sells their warranties horrible reviews and letting everyone know of this scam!

I paid $1000 for the sofa and the plan cost me $200. That's 1/5th of the cost of the couch. I am so disgusted with this company, I would never use them again!

However, the experience I had with Guardian's customer service was not so good. I called three times within a week and was on hold for over an hour for all three times. Also, they let me have the option to have a call back each time where I would list my place online. I opted in to do that a few times, but nobody called me back. An hour for three days in a row on hold and I still didn’t get anybody. By the fourth time, I called the furniture place where I got the furniture and they gave me a different number to call. I explained to them it's not caustic oil and the stain is caused by food preparation oil. Still they deny it. Basically they will come and clean if there is a beverage spill which we can do it ourselves anyway. Why pay almost $400 for nothing. Run away from this company. After over two weeks waiting for them to say that it looks like a condition of the leather that they don’t cover that in the plan even though I had the exact incident. I have a sleeper couch I purchased at Bob's two years ago. Whatever mechanism holds the bed up when it is put away seems to have broken, thus resulting in the cushion sinking down to the floor, rendering the couch itself unusable. I took every picture, from every angle, showing the extensive damage caused by this one part of the couch breaking. I have a copy of my Protection plan, which includes all the relevant information of a store receipt. After speaking to two separate customer service people, I am still receiving requests for the invoice.

One of the service people were even nice enough to retrieve my store receipt and attach it to my claim. I am still receiving emails requesting the store receipt. I requested to speak to the department that kept making the request, as they have the receipt, the insurance plan invoice as well as all the pictures they requested, and was told that they cannot transfer me to that department. It is as though they are delaying in order to run out the thirty day report period of the policy. I will never buy from Bob's again because of this. They have insurance because they know their furniture isn't exactly the most durable. And their plan is horrible. Next time, I'll pay more for something more durable. This frustration isn't worth it.

Over a month ago, a friend sat in a patio rocker/swivel chair on my back deck. The weld broke that holds the chair together. The chair cost $2430. I contacted Guardian who demanded a copy of the original invoice and photographs of the broken weld. After trying twice and having them claim they didn't receive the documents, we sat on the phone with one of the clerks until she admitted that they had received the information. Now the fun starts. They tell you, once you've run the gamut of documentation, that your claim will be assigned to another department that will take up to two weeks to review your claim and try to resolve the problem. Three weeks later I get a phone call from a company 2,000 miles away telling me that they've been hired to fix the fabric tear in my chair and that they're going to find a local company to do it. I explain that it's a weld and they reply that they don't weld anything.

I tell them to call Guardian and they tell me that they're not allowed to call the insurance company and I have to do it. I contacted Guardian and complained loudly about incompetence and horrible business ethic I am re-assigned to yet another "fixer" who will contact me when she finds another solution. I'm told that the negotiators do not accept telephone calls and the girls that answer the phone are not allowed to give out the fixer's e-mails. I'm now in my sixth week of this unbelievable crap... Don't buy the policy. It may not be a scam, but it's not worth the time it will take you to get the furniture fixed yourself... Trust me...

The back of the recliner started to lean to the right and you began to sink down in the right hand corner. I just from all the stress that it was causing it finally broke. The first time that I had tried to call Guardian. I was on the phone for over 40 minutes and got no answer. So finally upon calling at exactly 8 am I finally got someone. I explained what happen to the recliner and their response was “how did it happen”. How do I know how it happened it just happened.

They went through the process and shared to know if I wanted to take 24 hours and talk to everyone in the household to see if they knew how it happened because the claim may not be covered. When the lady finally did finish the process she said that it was submitted but they could not let me know if it was going to be covered. I asked how long it was going to take and the response was 5 business days. They never said about having anyone coming out to check it or anything. Why would it take up to 5 business days to do a claim. So in the meantime I am stuck with no chair in our family room. What a major inconvenience and a pain in the **. Depending on this outcome the protection most likely will not be purchased again.

The second time was when I was pulling out a furniture into my living room, it got caught in the loveseat. I called Guardian and it took me almost 40 minutes to speak with someone. There was a long wait time. Besides that, my concerns were addressed. And my only thing is the people that they bring in to service my stuff aren’t the most knowledgeable people, and I'm not happy with the level of work that I've received.

They didn’t repair the item. There's still a discolor to it. Another time was they forgot to address one area of the sofa, which wasn’t really stapled. They had to come in for a second visit to staple it. I just wish that it was taken care of the first time. And also, scheduling is pretty difficult with some of the vendors. The first time, I had to wait almost a week and a half until I got serviced. I would like them to turn over a resolution a lot quicker.

Purchased a very expensive dining room table with 6 side chairs from Morris Furniture Company that was delivered and Guardian Protection Plan start date on 1/14/2017. I purchased a Premium 5 year Guardian Protection Plan Plus for $349.95. Our dining room very rarely gets used. So there is very limited "wear and tear". Since delivery, it has been used twice, a baby shower (April 2017) and during a family gathering (November 2017). On Saturday, January 12, 2019, we had friends over to watch football. Once friend grabbed a dining room chair and moved it over around the couch to sit and view the TV. When she sat down in the chair, the wood frame completely split. My guest and myself were both mortified. I reported the claim online on Monday 1/14/19 and received a response today 1/21/19.

This is the email received in response to my claim: "The damage you have reported is not eligible for coverage under your protection plan. The plan you purchased from Morris Furniture does cover your furniture for breakage of wood frame or structure or other hard surface however your plan states all damages must be relatable to an accidental occurrence. This excerpt was pulled directly from your protection plan. A copy of your plan has been attached for your reference. “Normal wear and tear, including damage of this type cannot be attributed to a single relatable accident.” Responses to this email are not received."

Nowhere in my Plan am I able to locate the statement of "Normal wear and tear" as Guardian stated in their denial response. According to the Plan I purchased, this was an occurrence of accidental damage during normal residential use and should be covered. Also based on the response from Guardian, "responses to this email are not received", but in the very next line it says, "Reply to this email to respond". There is nothing subjective about the incident, the Plan and coverage provided or the claim and the damage to my dining chair should be covered. What is subjective is Guardian's response, lines of communication and their claim of wording from my protection plan contract. I have also reached out to Morris Furniture Company and their Assistant Manager is looking into my account to see what they can help with. I would expect the store to stand by the quality of their products and the protection plans that they sell.

I purchased 2 leather couches with built-in electronic recliners from Bob's Home Furniture and also purchased the 5-year Goof Proof Plan offered by Bob's through Guardian for $129.99. This is a review of 1) the couches and 2) my experience with the insurance coverage. 1) The couches: The couches were very comfortable, but not durable at all. We experienced accidental damage to them which should have been covered by the 5-year Goof Proof Plan.

    2) Here is what the plan states for coverage related to leather damage: "2. LEATHER/VINYL: a) Standard – Accidental stains caused by any food or beverage normally consumed by humans; mold and mildew stains caused by food or beverage spills; stains caused by human or pet bodily fluids; grass, grease, ballpoint pen ink, nail polish, cosmetics, lipstick, crayon, and shoe polish. Accidental rips, cuts, punctures or burns from a single relatable occurrence. Lipstick, crayon and ballpoint pen ink marks totaling more than 6 inches in length are considered preventable and will not be covered."

As stated above, "Accidental rips, cuts, punctures or burns from a single relatable occurrence." are covered under the contract of the plan. However, you may or may not be surprised to know that they WILL NOT HONOR THEIR CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS. We had accidental rips/cuts/punctures.

I reached out to the phone # on the Goof Proof Plan when an accident occurred with the couches. Although I called the number listed on the Goof Proof coverage Plan and initiated a claim on 11/4/18 (within the 5-year contract terms), I was routed to Bob's instead of Guardian. This is something that the second person I spoke to today (Andrea, Jasmine's supervisor) at Bob's said sometimes happens if you're on hold for too long and Guardian doesn't answer the phone- it gets re-routed to Bob's.

Unbeknownst to me, they processed the claim under Bob's coverage instead of under Guardian's coverage. They had previously replied to my email claim from November 2018 saying "The damage you are reporting is not consistent with a factory defect". But I had not claimed that it was a factory defect. I had reported that it was related to a specific accident, so it doesn't make sense that they would have treated the claim as a factory defect under Bob's plan terms instead of as an accident under Guardian's plan terms. Please BE AWARE that they will route your claim wherever they can TO NOT HONOR THEIR CONTRACT WITH YOU.

I tried to rectify the situation today, having just learned that they had routed the claim from 11/4/18 improperly, but neither Bob's nor Guardian would take ownership and honor the claim that should be covered under the Goof Proof plan. Upon discussing the issue with Guardian, the representative Elizabeth spoke to her manager and came back to me saying that I could have Bob's send the claim over to Guardian since it was initiated within the 5-year plan coverage (on 11/4/18), but then she retracted that statement and said that I could not because I was contacting them today (1/19/19) for a contract that ended yesterday (1/18/19). I'm infuriated because I started the process back in November but was never told that I wasn't dealing with Guardian or the Goof Proof Plan when they initiated the claim.

I am an extremely frustrated customer who feels that he has been scammed and wasted his money on insurance that stated it would cover something that they are now saying it will not cover. I am currently pursuing a legal course of action to get them to honor their contract with me. In the meantime, I am asking at the very least for the $129.99 back that I paid for the insurance which was a TOTAL LIE. Both Bob's Home Furniture and Guardian ARE TERRIBLE. They LOST A CUSTOMER TODAY FOREVER. And I plan to spread the word to everyone I know that Bob's Home Furniture and Guardian are running a SCAM.

The circles don't go away and they are like dark blue versus the light blue all around. I have a $10,000 carpet that I bought Guardian for, and it should be like it was. Now, it looks retarded. So, I've been disappointed.

Filing our request was not easy because I had to call them. The lady was very nice, but it took me probably 20 minutes to do the whole phone call, which is time consuming. And then, I had to wait for an email and then they sent a thing to confirm that the actual time would work. Doing the claim should be a lot quicker and a lot easier. I shouldn't have to measure every inch of the stain. I shouldn't have to tell them it was four by four, or a square, or rectangular. That was unnecessary. I should just be able to tell them, "I need you to come. I have a stain on my carpet." I had to like write a book for the woman.

You must trust me on this! I laugh now when they refuse my accidents And I take this as a lesson learned not once not twice three or four separate times! But I finally learnedly lesson! We had a puppy throw up on the couch and when we filed the request with Guardian, they got ahold of someone right away. It was a couple of days before a technician could come out though, and I was afraid that after a couple of days, the couch would be stained so bad, they wouldn't be able to get it out. I would have liked to have them come right away. But it was okay and the stain was removed. I also kinda felt sorry for the man because he had to come from Iowa City and the job only took him about a half hour. So he really had to drive quite a ways to get here. But he was very efficient.

Our baby vomits a lot. I submitted a claim to Guardian Protection for the sofa and the dresser, and I told the lady on the phone that the right side of the sofa was more affected. That’s where it was concentrated but it was all over the sofa. The technician was very quick. I left for the supermarket just to buy something. He got to the house and when I came back, he wasn’t there anymore. He only cleaned a small part of the sofa. If you call for two pieces of furniture, Guardian should do both. The technician only did one and didn’t even do it completely. But at least he came two days after our call.

We purchased a sectional and dining room set from Bob's Discount Furniture with the Goof Proof Plan. After a few weeks I noticed a small hole in the bonded leather seat cushion of one of the dining room chairs. When I called the Goof Proof warranty, I couldn't provide a specific occurrence, as nobody saw the puncture happen, the claim was denied. The agent claimed that she couldn't tell me that a specific occurrence was needed to approve a warranty claim. When I spoke to a supervisor I was told that a specific occurrence was needed because the incident might be included in the four pages of warranty exclusions.

The Bob's Goof Proof web page does state: "A specific cause of the accident must be reported." So I should have visited the website before calling the warranty claim phone number. But for Pete's sake. A seat cushion is under your rear end, you might not notice that the cushion is damaged for some time, unless you look at your seat before and after every time you sit down. Do not waste your money on the Goof Proof coverage, the warranty provider Guardian Products/Guardian Protection Plans will do everything they can to deny your claim. I would have given zero stars if it was allowed.

Guardian Furniture Protection Plan covered pet stains, rips and tears for our leather sofa. I had a pet stain on the couch. I also had little like hairs from clothing from sitting on it and just little, teeny tears. But that wasn’t addressed. The one I spoke to that actually set up the equipment was really nice and helpful. I’ve actually requested help before too, and no one ever came out.

Nevertheless, the tech was fine. He didn’t say much. I showed him where the pet stains were, and then he used his machine to do the cleaning and told me not sit on it for 24 hours because it would be wet. Then I asked him about the little tears and stuff. He said that it's not his department and I have to call back. I’m not too satisfied. My cat urinated on my couch and the smell hasn’t come out. So I was under the impression that it didn’t work to come out, but there was some type of compensation for the item.

I purchased a $370 protection plan for my leather furniture. Among other things, it covers "accidental stains caused by cosmetics". I used a mineral-based lotion that stained the leather recliner in one sitting. So I looked up my protection plan and called them. Their system is designed to cause a fail for all claims submitted. Both a rep and a manager told me that because I used the word "discoloration" instead of "stain" and "lotion" instead of "cosmetics" in my initial description, my claim was denied. After I pointed out that the dictionary defines stain as "discoloration" and the FDA classifies lotion as a cosmetic, she told me I could submit a picture. I did and have not heard back from her. Not that I expected to.

This is a scam. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Florida and have also named the furniture company who pressured me into buying the so-called protection plan. They probably get a kickback as they must have received multiple complaints from past customers through the years. Don't throw away your money!!

We purchased warranty coverage on all of our furniture from Nebraska Furniture Mart. On the first day our bed was delivered my wife put very slight pressure on the footboard of our bed and it split in half. Nebraska Furniture Mart refused to do anything since they said it was fine when they delivered it. We had the warranty so no big deal, right? Wrong. Guardian has a huge series of steps, all of them timed, that are required in order for them to send someone out to do a repair. It started with asking basic information, like, please provide the original receipt. When I typed in the warranty number they found all of my personal information, so I know they already had access to all of my data. Why make me add it manually? Because they want to deny any claim possible.

Then they asked for pictures...and descriptions...and more pictures...and more pictures...and then finally after two weeks of jumping through hoops they denied the claim stating that we submitted one of the pictures a day late. We were out of town on our honeymoon and I couldn't have gotten a picture on the day they wanted, but the fact that I had already submitted half a dozen pictures that very clearly showed the damage made this ridiculous. They're all about hassling people and then finding some sort of minor technicality to completely void a warranty that we paid lots of money for and that we were promised would cover our furniture. Please don't waste your hard-earned money on this "coverage".

I purchased the theatre chairs I own in April of 2016. Don't get me wrong. They are nice chairs but this is my warning to prospective consumers, Do not buy the Guardian Protection Products, Inc. extended service warranty that's offered by the salesmen. I recently had the opportunity to use it because on one of the 5 table trays that came with the set which are used daily, the post came out while I was using it because the weld broke where it attaches to the table. I paid $295 for the warranty. I called Guardian and their response was it was a manufacturer defect so they are not responsible for it. If it was an accidental breakage it would be covered. That was never explained to me when I was talked into purchasing the warranty. They gave me the hard sell and lowered the price a few times because I never purchase extended warranties because they usually aren't worth the paper they're printed on. That was just proven again.

If I had fallen on the table and it broke they would have replaced it but when it comes to a manufacturer defect, they told me to call the company I bought the chairs from. I called 4seating.com and explained my issue and they were no help. In my opinion both Guardian Protection Products, Inc. and 4Seating.com at fault because it should have been explicitly explained that this warranty is only for accidental damage and not for manufacturer defects. DO NOT PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. It is pure profit for them and they try to hide by omission the fact that it's not for manufacturer defects. To replace the table would only be $34, but for me it's the principle and not the cost.

When we got this insurance we were guaranteed that any and all accidents would be covered. Our first accident happened when I dragged the laundry basket over the cushions and it caught a thread and put a whole in the couch. This was not covered because it happened too close to a seam.

Our next incident happened not that long ago and involved us accidentally gouging several places on our bed frame (around the edges of the bed). I was emailed back that they would not cover this because they don't cover normal wear and tear. I can assure you that normal wear and tear did not cause this damage. I would never recommend getting Guardian insurance to insure your furniture. It was a waste of money for two young people just starting out.

We did file them within an hour. The next day we received notice that our file was under review. 30 days later they emailed and said they are happy to have a resolution for us. $65 check to be mailed in 6 weeks if we opted for them to not do anything. That's less than the warranty payment we just paid for in September.

The other option is for a $202 credit to be used at Bob's Discount Furniture. There isn't one in my state (Minnesota) so we can't go browsing. Plus their inventory doesn't have anything that even resembles our table and the least pricey one was over $400 so I'd end up spending more money. All I want is them to fix the surface of the table or give me full credit back to my store so we can go shopping locally. I've asked them to reconsider as these options are not acceptable for the reasons I spelled out above and have not received a response as of yet.

From when I filed the claim to when somebody came out, it took over a month. A lady from Minneapolis came and did an excellent job. She was very qualified, knowledgeable and even had a sense of humor. We tipped the loveseat over and her first response that it was really serious. Then she smiled and said that tie strap underneath had come unplugged. The tie strap underneath was too tight against the spring, so it unplugged itself after the loveseat was put up and down I don’t know how many times. She was surprised herself. I could’ve done it myself but I didn’t know what was wrong. I expected the motor or the electronics to be out. I’m glad we had Guardian Protection Products. I’m very satisfied with the experience.

Due to the lack of expediency through this whole process, I decided to file the claim because I knew this would not be resolved before I move.

Of course, I had to call to cancel the claim. I waited 27 minutes to talk to a person. My dog urinated a bit on the edge on the couch. When we purchased the Guardian Protection on the couch, I was told that I was covered in anything like that, or if it’s a spill or the dogs chewed on it, it will get covered. I thought buying the protection plan was better for me than buying another sectional or the top piece of it, so I can save money. The call was fine and the reps were able to help me perfectly over the phone. The service appointment was set up for the week after that call. However, when the tech got here, it was the worst experience.

It's not my fault that he was not prepared for what he was here for. If he was gonna go clean, he was supposed to have all his tools and everything with him. But if he needs an extension cord or something extending, he can go ahead and use it. But when he was here, he was like, “I need an extension. I need a cord outlet.” I said okay and there was one, and he said, "Well, my machine’s not gonna reach it. I need something else.” Am I supposed to provide that for him as well? This was his job, not mine. He also rudely asked where the sink was when he needed to wash his hands. I don’t think that was even appropriate as well. There’s a sink in the kitchen and he was more than welcome to use that but I had to put my dog inside. He was able to use that sink and then he told me to give him a paper towel, and I did.

I want a great service, but he was in a hurry and he was upset. He didn’t even clean the couch well. It still smells like urine and I’m very upset about it. I never called back to let Guardian know, however, because I wasn’t sure if they are able to do anything over the phone. But for him to be here for about eight minutes to clean it, I could’ve done that myself. Just use soap and water, and brush the couch out? I could’ve done that, too. But I didn’t touch it because I bought the protection plan and the reps were able to assist me with it. Yet, the protection plan is not what I expected. It's the worst and it's a waste of money. I’ll just buy another sectional and I have to pay more than that. Do not buy the Guardian protection plan. My experience with them was horrible.

I made a claim and the rep I worked with was good. It took about a week for them to dispatch a technician who was very nice and he tried to clean the stain out. But it is still there and you could still see it. While I like Guardian Protection to know about the stain, I didn't bother anymore cause they said I have to take pictures and send it over to them.

My eight-month old son had threw up on our furniture. We needed Guardian to come in and clean it, and it took a week for them to dispatch a service technician. It could have been quicker being that it was our child's stuff, but the tech did a good job. My street is not the most parking-friendly but he was able to come in, he stood for about half an hour and did what he had to do in terms of cleaning the sofa cushion that had the little bit of baby vomit on it and he took care of it.

Guardian met our expectations fine so far. The fact that we were able to call it in and be able to get the service is what we expected. And so far, it's doing what it gotta do. The break-fix was worth it and I paid them, but I think Guardian should also offer a once-a-year maintenance or a once-a-year cleaning just to kind of keep everything up to date.

Even though there was an extra stain on the couch when they arrived, their techs said that they had to do the one I complained about and that they can't do more. I felt that was messed up because I just didn't book both stains at the same time. I went through a logbook-type request with a lot of questions to get them to come do the other stain. Still, their techs were fairly quick and everything was done.

I had appointments to go to, so he called me a couple of times to make sure that I was gonna be home.

When he arrived, I had just gone here and he got out of the car and he said hi to me, very nice guy. He came in and he did his job. He told me his name. He took pictures of where the damage was done and he cleaned it and then he told me that nobody could sit there for a day because it was really wet. I am not too satisfied with what happened though because I have four kids and it was very hard to keep my kids out of sitting in such a wet place and I still have a distinct smell there. I was not happy with the job but other than that, Guardian is very professional.

I’m very happy that my family and I had purchased the Guardian protection plan. It’s very helpful and I would recommend it to anyone who gets furniture. It’s important to have protection plans because things do happen. Our couch bed had pet stains on it and when I filed the request, the people I dealt with were very helpful and professional. They wanted to make sure that I had the protection plan and they gathered all the information that they needed from me. They were also very detail-oriented. They wanted to know the detail of what the problem was so I explained what my problem was and what I would like to see happen. Then they explained that they would try to take care of the problem and if not, then they would replace the couch bed.

My concern was that the service technician would take long. I was trying to prevent it from being a situation where the couch bed would need to be replaced. But the service technicians came after two days of the call and I was glad because the couch bed could’ve been soiled. When I opened the door, they introduced and identified themselves. I asked them what they were gonna do and they explained the process. Initially, they were gonna try to take care of this thing and see if they can correct the problem as opposed to trying to just replace something. They gathered information to find out what actually happened. Then they explained to me what they were gonna do in cleaning it. They were polite, friendly, professional and very helpful in explaining part of the process.

I also watched them. They were using some of the equipment and they explained what they were gonna do. They got the stain out and I haven’t smelled anything. So I feel confident with the Guardian protection plan. In fact, I’m gonna give them another call because I need my table tightened. Some of the screws came out and it’s under the protection plan as well.

Customer services informed me to email Guardian for a request with my Guardian paperwork, and pictures. (My guess is this company only does business by email). On Sunday Sept 15 a scheduler reached out to me scheduling an appt for Tuesday Sept between 12-5p with a 1hr call ahead time.

She left a message indicating this information and I immediately called her back. I confirmed that appointment, and took off work for this appt. This order over 1 week ago! Today, there was a NO CALL NO SHOW! I was on the phone with Guardian for over 1 hour trying to reach the department before transferred to a tech who called my area tech. The scheduler who contacted me and confirmed did not schedule my appt in the system. I called her several times only to receive a voicemail, I sent the phone audio/text message and her phone number to Guardian for proof and confirmation. This is ridiculous, unprofessional, and a waste of time and money! I am very frustrated with the lack of disconnect and service received from this company.

I was able after an hour on hold, to talk directly with a tech who was clueless about the appointment and scheduled me for tomorrow. Guardian needs to take this matter seriously. The rep then also told me that "bites aren't covered, only rips/tears." That is so absurd, the rip is the RESULT of the bite, it's one in the same. After calling them to schedule them to come by and do a service on a brand new sofa, where my dog jumped on a table and spilled ice cream which had caramel and chocolate sauce on it and went right from the table to the floor and then up across the club sofa seat. The back and when I yelled at her she got scared and turned around on the sofa so there are several places on several cushions and two backs from her scampering around, I requested Guardian to come out and take care of the situation.

The first tech was not even prepared to look at the furniture nor clean it. He was dressed as if he was going out on a date. Plus he was afraid of dogs, who were all in kennels. And he said that it needed to be replaced. The job was too big for him and yelling. I had to tell him to get out of the house because he was the one upsetting the dogs with his yelling and screaming.

After calling and complaining they sent out a second technician and she also went back and said the club sofa needed a full cleaning. This representative was very nice. But let me just say that this couch is a microsuede material oatmeal in color which means if you move the pile one way it is very light and if you move the pile another way it is darker. But both technicians stated that this couch is dirty and needed a full cleaning because of its condition. But it is not dirty. Bottom line, they are not cleaning it or the spot cleaning. But this is a continuous problem with Guardian and their cleaning. They will do a spot but if it is a big - one time continuous problems over a bigger area. THEY WON'T DO IT.

As I told them yesterday I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I will blog this situation, this is ridiculous with the amount of money you pay them for this service. But I had purchased a baby blue couch from them in 2003 and it took almost 75 days to get the paperwork even pulled together, faxing and mailing and still no response. But with Jerome's I have tried again. I have had two bad experiences and 1 good experience. It's almost worthless to pay for this services. Today I am taking the cushions to Jerome's so that they can see it. So they will know first hand these experiences with Guardian. I would be more than happy to have someone come out and review this case. Thank you.

I purchased a chair and Sectional from McDonald's Furniture in May 3 2017. A year later the furniture started to create crackling noise and the armrests started to cave in. So I email to GPP claim service, pictures of the furniture along with the Guardian protection plan document were attached in the email. Note that In addition to my name and address the plan document has invoice number, purchase amount and purchase date on it. After several days I got a call and I was informed that they can't process it without the original receipt. The retailer is no longer open so there is no way to get a reprint of the original receipt. No luck. Finally I decided to to cancel my coverage, Unbelievably they said no to cancel the coverage, They want receipt even for cancelling. It didn't make sense to me.

Just for sake of argument let's say you bought a furniture a year ago, and now the furniture with receipt were stolen or you sold it to someone... And you have a 20 years warranty with Guardian and you wanted all your coverage be canceled and get your prorated premium back. GPP will ask you to fax the stupid receipt or pay the premium for the remaining 19 years even if you do not have the furniture with you. So, in summary GPP wants to avoid any responsibility, uses very pushy sales at the store and tries to find reasons to not repair or replace the furniture should something happen to it. I read reviews that are much worse than this. In conclusion - - Do not even think of buying a coverage from Guardian. Bad customer handling. Bad profit making technique.

Other than that, they did what they were supposed to do and did the work quickly. My couch is fine now and I'm happy.

I was told because I did not call within the 30 days my claim was denied. I explained to them how could I know about that term if I had never received the certificate? They stated they were 'sorry' I never received the Protection Plan but they could not make any exceptions. Someone at Guardian should have sent me a copy but did not so now I am being denied the claim because of someone's incompetence. Very unprofessional!

Doesn’t anyone regulate these contracts? At the top it should clearly define accidental as Good luck because this must be an accident, not normal use, but during normal use but not BY accident but like by tripping or falling, that kind of accident. That is accidental, got it? Oh and then to summarize: "You’re denied". Again. "I’m sorry your accident was not accidental. I could give you our email to possibly get a refund", prorated OF COURSE. I tried to file a basic claim where a toy did some damage to my leather and they denied it! Even though nothing in the terms, conditions, and exclusions document calls this out as an exclusion.

I asked them in writing to show me the exclusion regarding this, as I do not see it listed anywhere in the written documents they gave me. I have not received a response. Additionally, don’t be deceived by their claim of being a BBB accredited business. Go to BBB.com and you will see that out of the 25 reviews they have 24 are negative! My dog urinated on my microfiber sectional couch. Although I have cleaning kit from when I purchased the furniture, I was leery about using it and wanted my couch to be professionally cleaned because I didn't want to stain my couch. I talked to Guardian since I have a furniture protection plan on it. Their customer service was great and very thorough. She asked me questions and said that she would get somebody out. She then suggested that I spray Febreze to keep the smell out and told me not to clean the couch. Within three days, I had someone on my house to clean it. They shampooed it and managed to get the stain and the smell out.

I thought things would be difficult and that it was a one-time deal and I wouldn't be covered because my little Pomeranian, who likes to pee on my furniture, did this last year. Guardian shampooed another part for that. But I was very happy that they came back for a second time. Overall, this was one of the easiest customer service experiences that I've had.

When we got the couch from Levin, we purchased the Guardian Protection warranty and what they told me was that any time we needed the couch cleaned if there was a stain we couldn’t get out, that we could call the warranty number and they would come out. And if they couldn’t get the stain out, then they would replace the cushion. We had an ink stain and a blood stain on the couch. My husband talked to Guardian Protection reps and the experience was fine, although he wasn’t aware that nowhere in our agreement does it say that we have to call within 30 days of the stain. So, when he first talked to the rep, she said it didn’t matter what the date was of the stain. And then after he told her when the stains happened, she said, “Oh, we’ll only come and take the blood stain out because that’s the one that’s happened within 30 days.” So, that was a bit frustrating.

The rep showed my husband a copy of the warranty and the warranty that she had was different than the one that I had seen originally three years ago when we bought the couch. It didn’t say anything about replacing cushions. It’s just that they will come and remove the stain. The technician came out three days from when my husband called, which wasn’t bad, and he cleaned the couch well and got the stain off. So, that was good. When we purchased the warranty, the only thing that I got was the protection spray that we could spray on the couch. But when we called to have the couch cleaned, they mailed us a stain removing kit. So far, our overall experience was good. The person who came and cleaned was efficient and did a good job. It's worth it to have the Guardian Protection plan.

Guardian Protection Products is the worst. I am amazed that this is what I pay the coverage for. I told them that my dogs peed at the furniture, so I called them. But it was a huge wait. When I tried to call to make an appointment, I was on the phone barely. I put my phone on speaker phone and it got to the point where it said that there was such a long waiting line that I could leave my phone number. So, I left my phone number. They must have called me at 10 o’clock that night, which I didn’t hear.

The next morning, I saw something on my phone and I didn’t know it was them. I called them again, stayed on hold and finally got someone to make the appointment. She said that the guy will call me to make the appointment. The guy was really quick. He called me right away and he even wanted to come out that same day. I said that we weren't home yet and I asked if he can come out on Saturday. He said yes and that he’ll be there. He was punctual and he was in the timeframe he gave us.

He came out in his own personal car and dressed in regular clothes. He didn’t show me any I.D. but said that he was there to do two cushions. Not one thing on him indicated who he was and he came in with a little Bissell, a hand-held thing to clean your carpet with, which I own myself. His was a little bit bigger and he asked if he could come in. He wanted me to fill the water and I gave him water. My husband pointed to him and he said that he was only supposed to be doing two spots. My husband didn’t know when I called it in and that they told me to tell them exactly what cushion. My husband said that we have older dogs and they went across all three cushions, so I told my husband that I only told them two. My husband pointed him to two major ones and asked him to do those two. He just did two cushions but it was soaking wet and thank God that I didn’t have our party the next day because we couldn’t even sit on them.

He was there for less than five minutes. I said that I could have done it with my own hand-held machine. My couches were soaked and he left. He did it quickly and he didn’t even pull it back to get the excess water out. He never dumped the dirty water out and he went on to the next house. It was disgusting and very unprofessional. He had a soccer shirt on and there was not one thing on him that showed his business. He didn’t have their shirt with their logo on it. This was the first time I ever bought the warranty. I told my husband that I’m not doing it again. I was so aggravated

They gave me a kit back at the store and we’ve tried that but, unfortunately, I have older dogs that are going to this stage that they can’t hold it so I’m getting them leaking constantly. I’ve tried them but the urine is taking over. I would tell my friends to absolutely not go with Guardian. I was very disappointed in the whole process. Guardian should be having their workers show I.D. If my husband wasn’t home, I would not let the guy in. They need to have their employees have some type of logo on their shirt showing where they’re from. They also should not use a hand-held Bissell. There’s gotta be something better.

We purchased the fabric protection plan from Guardian Protection Products. It was the option that was given to us from the retailer Bath & Beyond when we purchased the chair. They said that they highly recommend it and told us to get it. We had an accident and our baby vomited on the chair that we had purchased, so Guardian came and fixed it. However, the most stressful part of filing a request was getting them on the phone. When we called, someone answered right away and we went to the automated system.

After I told that I wanted a new claim, someone answered after a few minutes saying, "Do you have a new claim?" I said yes but then I was put on hold for about an hour, and over an hour on the second time. They had an option to put my number in queue and an automated system put my number in queue and they called me back when it was my turn. I appreciated that, but it was odd to me that someone could answer the phone and confirm that I have a new claim to file but did not take my claim.

The reps were friendly and they were trying to get my process filed via email. They asked for information like my plan number, policy number, and proof purchase, but they couldn't find me in their system. But after that, they called me back and it was smooth sailing. It didn't take too long for the gentleman to come. But getting the claim started was a little hectic and I wished they would have answered their phone quicker. They called me back 10 minutes before their service closed on a Friday, and I didn't like it. The only thing to make it a much better experience is to have the ability to process the claim sooner and allow me to do it via email.

The people who answered the phone were genuinely helpful in trying to get my claim processed faster and the one guy who came was excellent and very helpful. He was very kind, he worked fast and he answered questions that we had about the product that he was using. He was wonderful. It was in our baby's room so we wanted to make sure that anything we're using there is non-toxic and eco-friendly. I would definitely recommend Guardian Protection Plan and I will purchase it again if I needed to. I would also tell my friends to get it. Guardian took care of the problem and it was a reasonable warranty to get, considering that our purpose was for a child where accidents are going to happen on furniture.

It was during my kid's nap time and I figured if I request a callback, they'll call when my kids are awake so I thought, "Oh, I'll just stay on the line." I waited on for an hour and I was like, "Is this place a joke?" I looked them up online and they don't have great reviews. They called back but it took a little while, which is fine. Although I assumed that they would have more representatives than they did answering phone calls.

The tech came on a Monday and I called Guardian Thursday so it didn't take a while. A lady called me to schedule whoever they used to clean that afternoon. The lady told me from 12 NN to 2 PM and she said he'll probably be closer to 1 PM. The tech was there early, which was at 11:50 AM but it was fine. I wasn't at home yet, but he called and was patient, and we were five minutes away. I'm planning to call them back because I don't think the stain came all the way out. The technician told me to call them back if it doesn't come out. I just haven't had the time to with the holiday. Getting in touch with them was a little difficult, but the experience was okay. Just save all the documentation because you have to have all of that. Like a receipt, when you purchase the product and when it was delivered. You have to have all of that information for your claim to be processed.

I called to get this taken care of but their rep said that all they cover is the fabric and not the cushion itself.

Paying for the service is completely pointless because it doesn't cover the cushion. Now, I'm in a situation where either I spend more money to replace the cushion or I have to get a new couch, and that's a waste of my money for this plan. So, we are very disappointed. My girlfriend spilled juice on the couch and there was a huge stain on it. She handled the initial conversation with Guardian and then I took over when it got to scheduling the appointment. She told me that it was a time consuming process to get to someone who could actually schedule the appointment. And then she missed their call back and she had to basically restart the process. So she was on the phone with them for at least a good 30 or 40 minutes. Guardian said the first available that they had was about a week out from when we called. And the next available after that was three or four days after that.

I wasn't really concerned about that timing aspect of it. The part that I didn't like about it was essentially the way it was presented. They said they have an opening on a certain day and the time slot would be from 12:00 to 5:00. The time slot is a little bit difficult for people that work. Luckily, I was able to work from home for a couple of hours that day. But I would suggest a more narrow time slot of about two or three hours.

The technician was really friendly and he did a good job. Most of the stain is out, but there's a couple of tiny spots that I can still see from the spill. That's because they just hit the main stain spot and they do not clean the entire cushion. So the warranty does cover not general cleaning, and it's just pretty much the stain that the warranty covers. I didn't love the experience, but they got the job done.

This company is a scam and I cannot believe they are allowed to do business. They make it as difficult as possible to get a hold of someone just to make a claim. I tried calling multiple times, different days and times and they always had an "unusually large call volume" so they recommend you leave your number to save your place in line and they will call you right back when it is your turn. Apparently that means in two days. I tried that method multiple times and they never called back the same day. I missed their calls when they did call back days later because I was not waiting or expecting them.

Then I tried to stay on hold. After being on hold for over an hour I called on a second line and screamed at the person that puts you on hold to put me in contact with someone immediately. She tried to talk me into using email instead of speaking with someone. I refused and wanted to speak to someone because I have heard nothing but bad things about this company (after I purchased it of course) and that they will find any excuse to deny a claim. I felt talking to someone versus an email would better. I still had to wait another 15 minutes on hold.

Once I got a hold of someone they tried everything they could to talk me into using my email instead of talking over the phone. I refused. Then she took me through the most ridiculous process to file a claim. Finally I just stopped her and asked if they will even cover the accidental rip on the cushion. She asked where the tear was and I told it was on the seam. Apparently when it tears on the seam they do not cover it. Unbelievable! So what do they cover? Everything about this company scream scam. I am now fighting the furniture company for a refund because this protection program is worthless and a SCAM! Do not buy their protection plan if it is offered to you when you purchase new furniture, I guarantee you will be disappointed.

However, when you call in, you have to send pictures. It was very complicated trying to get back to them with the picture to finally match the two things of how it looked and what was going on. So to send me a technician out, it was that nine yards I went through. But they were timely once I got a hold of them.

When the chair’s arm got a spot on the leather, a gentleman came out and tried to remove as much of it as he could. There’s still a little bit of a spot, but it looks pretty good so I’ve just left it alone. The Guardian Protection plan meets my expectations as long as it removes the stain off of my leather furniture and I've got five years to exercise if I need to use them again.

I am appalled that this company has the audacity to make assumptions about what happened when they were not present during the accident. This company is an absolute rip-off just like most of the reviews here stated. Here is my true honest story. I purchased two expensive leather couches along with Guardian Protection plan for 5 year warranty after I was assured that EVERYTHING WILL BE COVERED (which I thought to be a little extreme and felt like they were only trying to convince me so I was very insisted to know what's covered under the plan since I had a bad experience with another company before). I saw that the warranty covers most of what I would possibly run into including any rips, tears, burns, food, and beverage stains.

About a year after my purchase the color of my leather faded which was not covered, I said ok. Then a small patch of the leather came off due to a device that was on the couch and when I took it it got stuck to the couch and a patch of leather came off, ALSO NOT COVERED. Again, small cut on the seat and back cushion, NOT COVERED!! Really?!! I'm still paying for the furniture and will have to continue paying for something that look completely horrible knowing that I paid all this money just to get peace of mind that it will last a long time.

Unfortunately, I find out that no matter what happens, YOUR MONEY IS GONE AND YOUR FURNITURE WILL NOT BE FIXED. I'm writing this review with complete honesty and hope that other customers beware of such fake company. They will find any tiny detail just to deny your claim. They will specify in extreme detail the type of accidents covered (I mean accidents are accidents and they will never be exactly the same). If you weren't there when it happened your claim is automatically denied, if you wait a few more days to file, also denied. The color of the stain and how it happened which is absolutely ridiculous is also another reason to deny your claim.

I even spoke with the supervisor himself and all he could say is that, "Ma'am, because the cause of the stain is unknown it's not covered under your plan," (well, how am I supposed to know if I wasn't there when it happened!!). All In all, CLAIMS ARE ALWAYS DENIED, just don't waste your money. I would rather go and buy another set of furniture than spend so much on a piece with warranty thinking that it will give me peace of mind. You oughta be ashamed of the way you conduct your business. Very disappointed!!

I purchased my (cheap) furniture from McDonald's Fine Furniture (Ha! It is anything BUT fine) and it was delivered in November of 2017. In March, I discovered that the frame of the chair was broken and hanging off. (My cat jumped on the arm and broke it). I reported the damage because I had a super-duper (operative word here is duper) warranty from GUARDIAN PROTECTION PRODUCTS, LLC. It took over a month to get a repairman here. He took the fabric off and took pictures of the damaged frame. I was told I would get a call back in 3 business days. Well, that didn't happen. So I called them and they put me off saying I had a response letter in the mail. Well, I got the letter and they will not provide any repair OR REPLACEMENT.

When I called a supervisor to explain, all she did was keep repeating the company line: We can't fix it. I told her the warranty was to REPAIR or REPLACE it. She said they couldn't do it because the store was out of business - (yeah, McDonald's Fine Furniture had nothing but crap to sell). So, I asked her why did they sell me the warranty? She said that since they were going out of business, they had no right to sell these warranties. "Really?" I asked her. "Because you sure took my money." Then she gave me some other company line that they would not repair it because the fabric might rip. I told her the technician had already removed the fabric and that they could do it again. She then said they couldn't order replacement parts. I said, well there are no parts to replace - just a crappy cheap piece of fiberboard.

I told her I would buy the board and they could fix it. She gave me some crap that it would cost more to repair the chair than replace it and they will do neither. So they offered me my money back on the WARRANTY. I said, "Yeah, because it is obvious that your company is a scam and they will not honor any type of repair listed in their make-believe warranty."

There are over 500 complaints against this fraudulent company with the BBB. They still hold an A+ rating, How is this possible? They are not doing what they advertise for. In any other situation, the police would arrest them for being con-artists. Save your money and do not buy from this scam of a company. Also, do not trust a BBB rating, they obviously paid for the rating themselves. the following people need to be arrested for providing absolutely nothing that YOU have PAID for: Mr. Kevin **, Director of Operations, Ms. Erin **, Manager, Customer Service (why? you do nothing but cheat your customers): Ms. Paige **, Team Leader. Why have managers of a company that is nothing but fraudulent?

You people should be deeply ashamed of what you do to people all day long, every day. CONARTISTS, SCAMMERS AND DEFUNCT IDIOTS WORK AT GUARDIAN ANTI-PROTECTION PRODUCTS - LOSERS AND SCAMMERS. I told the manager that I spoke with that she should be ashamed to come to work at a company that cheats everyone, and that she should look for a new job at a real company. I have filed complaints with the BBB, posted on Yelp and submitted this write up. I will find more avenues to complain, and write more.

We've got Guardian Protection Product on an indoor furniture and we have called them for a service request because our kid got sick on the chair. I’ve used Guardian Protection before and they haven’t been a problem. It’s who they are working with that has been. Bob’s was awful. They gave us a cleaning kit when we had the protection plan and when we were at the store they told us to call Guardian and they would tell us how to use it. When I called Guardian they told me not to use it because they didn’t know which thing I would use on the chair. They also kept telling us that if we did something to it or if we tried to clean it, then the chair would be out of warranty. So we just had covered it up and just sit there and let it wait.

Bob's didn’t register our protection plan so we couldn’t do our clean for a month. Guardian tried to help me and Bob’s kept saying that they sent it and it’s Guardian’s fault. Then Guardian said that they never got it and gave us the information we need. So we kept giving it to Bob’s over and over again. There's one point they hung up on me twice in five minutes. I would absolutely never recommend Bob’s to anyone because they’re awful.

The service technician who got to our home was not the nicest either. He went over the stain and then he was telling me that we should have cleaned it and I said, “Okay. Well, when I spoke to Guardian, they told me not to.” He then cleaned it once and he was ready to go. He packed up all his stuff and I told him that there still is a stain on it. I also told him that I wasn’t trying to be a jerk, but we’ve had the chair in the house for less than a month so something’s got to be done there. He was really annoyed that he had to do it again. Guardian was good and they were very helpful, but between Bob’s and the technician, I wouldn’t make a claim unless I absolutely had to because it was too much.

I bought protection against anything that has to do with furniture damage and stains. When I had an issue, I looked at my warranty from the furniture company and it showed Guardian. I called them and it wasn’t the best experience. I gave them my statement on what happened to my furniture, how and when it happened. They took down the incident report and they said they would call me within a couple of days. They called me a week later but they just wanted to go over the original complaint so I gave them my statement again. They then said that I had to wait and that somebody would call to make an appointment to come to my house to do what they had to do with the furniture.

Guardian used an outside contractor and a gentleman by the name of Sal called me and scheduled an appointment to come to my house within a four-day period. Sal was in charge of the cleaning and he was pretty good, punctual, and thorough with his work. Guardian was all right too and they did their job. My only complaint was if I have some issues where my furniture has spillage, I'm gonna have to wait a week to 10 days for it to be resolved and that is a little bit too long. I figured everything would be done in a few days but the whole process took almost 10 to 12 days.

Other than that, one definitely needs Guardian. If you go spend $3,000 on couches, wouldn’t you wanna buy some kind of protection? If you have kids like two-year-olds running around with ice cream in their hand or if you are in a lot of traffic area, I would advise getting that kind of protection. And one has to keep in mind that if they can’t clean up their mess, they'd replace your furniture so it is a good protection. I never bought a protection in the years that I have had furniture for some reason. No one told me to get it. But I thought Guardian was very reasonable because I normally don’t buy warranties.

He was very professional and he did a good job but there was nothing fancy about it. Overall, Guardian was not that expensive. Mainly for me, if I get a rip or something on my furniture, I had better get the protection just in case because Guardian covers a lot. The fabric of my furniture got me to buy a Guardian Protection plan. The store gave me a cleaning kit, and the instructions were pretty self-explanatory, but it didn't work for the stain I had. I filed a claim for the stain and the customer service was good. The technician who came out went over the top with his service and he got everything taken care of.

We got a furniture protection plan from Guardian for the couch. When the neighbors’ baby peed on the couch, there was a little stain. We were going to try to take care of it ourselves for a minute there, but my wife said we got the warranty so we ended up with it. We called Guardian and the experience was fine. They answered right away and asked for a copy then I’ve emailed them the receipt and everything. Once they got it, I got an email right away that said they got it and they were really informative on a step-by-step process on when it was gonna happen. They called half an hour ahead of time which the technician said he was going to do so that worked out great.

Everything was fantastic, except for the big call window. The technician himself was like the cable guy when they were going to be here between 8:00 am and 5:00 so I had to take a whole day off for 15 minutes worth of work. They also just did the 5” x 5” spot literally. I get that it’s a warranty and they don’t want to spend any more time than they have to. But I thought they might do all three cushions while they were there. They took longer to set up all the stuff than to actually do the spot. It took him half an hour to drive here, 15 minutes to set all of the stuff up, 10 minutes to do the thing and then another five minutes to pack everything up. Other than that, they were really good.

When we sent them all the information, they wrote back and that was all pretty good. They just have to make it easier for customers to get a hold of them. But once I got somebody, they were helpful. They sent a technician within a couple of days. But he said that they can't do it though and that the fabric needed to be replaced. And after that, nothing happened. It has been about two months and I’ve been waiting to hear back.

Horrible, horrible. Don't waste your money. They look for any detail to deny your claims. I spent $200 on insurance for a leather sofa. The seat started to slope. Simple, right? No they asked how long I had noticed this and I stated that it had developed over the last few months. They ask for a specific date and fed me the date two months ago. Bingo - claim denied. You must report any problem in 30 days. Ridiculous! A slow breakdown in stuffing doesn't happen in a single day. I asked to speak to a manager and they say they don't have one available. They will call back in the next 3 days.

When ink bled through the furniture, I called them for a service request. They were friendly on the phone but it was really hard to get in touch with them. I had to spend more than 30 minutes every time I called just to wait to get someone to pick up the phone. But they dispatched someone within the week, which is fast, and they took care of the stain.

I called on a Monday and they came on a Wednesday. I really liked how fast they got back to me because I was expecting it would be a week later. And the guy was very nice and thorough when he cleaned it. I was extremely pleased with what was provided for me.

In 2016, my wife & I built a new home & furnished it with a $30,000 buy from Hanks fine furniture in Panama City, FL. Although I felt like the furniture protection plan was probably not the best use for an additional $2000 investment, we convinced ourselves that we might have a stain, rip or tear that would justify the cost down the road. Indeed, we developed a need. A guest with a small dog walked through some spilled red wine and then jumped up on our cream colored sofa leaving multiple footprints on the fabric.

Before I contacted them to file a claim I did a little research on this website as well as BBB. I became concerned that I might have bought into a scam, but decided to give it a try and push through the hours of waiting on hold. My claim attempt started with at 9 o’clock and took me only 3 hours to get a final determination… With the somewhat expected DENIAL of my claim. Their reason for this must have come out of the extra-fine print section of the contract. A very sweet girl informed me, “although we DO pay for repairs caused by animals soiling furniture, We do NOT cover damage caused by jaws, paws, claws and beaks”. Pretty clever, I thought, since the red wine fabric stains were created when a dog first stepped in spilled wine before hopping on the sofa-the use of his PAWS to deliver the red wine voided the claim... isn’t that RICH!?

It’s just the sort of response you would expect from a scam company like Guardian Protective Services. I was expecting to hear them come up with some way of weaseling out of payment, so I literally laughed out loud when I heard the VERY weak explanation. I have reaffirmed my belief that the primary goal of these guys is to Deny Everything Immediately & avoid giving back a dime if they can help it... and my experience with their fine print today really does show they can find creative ways to exclude coverage on almost everything. Do NOT buy a Guardian Protective Services plan-it is throwing your money away!

They sent a service technician after a week and a half. When they came to clean the spot that I spilled, the guy did a really good job. The plan I got met my expectations. I have used the cleaning kit that they gave me when I purchased the protection plan. I tried using it for the furniture cleaning but it didn’t work out. So I paid real money to these people from my bank account and got nothing but EMPTY PROMISES in return. What does that sound like? Yup, a scam. Pretty much the definition of a scam. If you buy furniture somewhere and they offer you a warranty from Guardian Protection, don't bother. Zero value, zero everything. Stay very far away! So here's my story: I told them I need to have someone come look at my powered loveseat (which I bought the plan for), because it is stuck in the open position.

They put me on hold, then came back to say they can't send someone out because the service call was "not approved". I asked them to get it approved. They said they cannot unless there was accidental damage. So I asked how they can verify if there's accidental damage or not without seeing the furniture, to which I was told, "sorry, but your case cannot be re-opened. You'll have to go to the manufacturer," knowing fully well manufacturer's warranties are another farce. These are old, scummy scam tactics; and, shame on Bob's Discount Furniture for giving them business.

The tech was very polite and took lots of pictures and was very reassuring that everything would be fine and they would replace my sectional so he left and gave me a number to call for the claim. I called and spoke to a representative who told me there was nothing they could do for me because the damage was not due to a manufacturer’s defect and it was damaged cause by me.

So now I’m confused... I asked how did he determine that. What factors go into making that determination and she said, "I don’t know but our techs are trained to know". I would personally like to know how that’s determined and what’s the guideline of Making that determinations so I ask for a supervisor. She informed me that one would call me back, still haven't received that call. Long story short this protection Plan is a FLOP. I will never purchase one again. I advise you not to either. Bought power reclining couches in May 2017. Sales rep talked us into buying warranty and of course being power reclining couch, loveseat, and oversized chair, we thought this was a good idea. Got the couches delivered and poor quality, had Mega Furniture bring out another one. Same issue so gave up and determined it was their quality. In beginning of November 2017, loveseat power recliner went out. Called Guardian and was asked to take pictures and send in copy of invoice. Of course since it's power issue pictures won't show anything but hey I get it, it's part of the process.

I send in the info November 15th as requested. I don't hear back until November 20th and the email says "Thank you for your photos and invoice. Your service request has been escalated to the examination dept. Please allow 15 business days from 11/20/17 for resolution." I hear nothing until December and the tech comes out and says he has to order a part.

Fast forward to January 24th and I email Guardian to ask what the status is. January 26th, all I get is a response from their email that says "we sent you this letter on January 22nd." The letter says replacement orders can take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. I emailed back as this is insane that for couches I haven't even had for a year don't work and a warranty takes months to fix. I got ZERO response to my email. Not even an "I'm sorry, you're right, it has taken a long time." Nothing!!

Then I call Mega Furniture Friday March 2nd and the gal says, "You have to pick up the part." I was astounded! The girl said she'd call me back by Wednesday at the latest and no call. I call Thursday and she did apologize. I gave her all the info and she said she'd let the Guardian sales rep know how this has gone. So I pick up the part Monday like Mega furniture tells me to and she also said I should have heard from Guardian to set up appt. NOPE nothing!! I call today March 13th and the rep from Guardian was nice enough but then I get, "Ok. We'll set up a tech," and they have 7 to 10 days for the tech to set up the appt!

I have never ever seen such a crappy warranty service EVER!!! It takes literally MONTHS to get a repair taken care of! The rep with Mega furniture says that Guardian didn't even order the part until January 22nd when the tech had been out in December so why did it take over a month to order the part? Oh and I pick up the part and it's literally like 2 electric cords!! It takes months for this?? Plus you have to pick up the part and call Guardian back to set up appt. This should be where you call in the warranty and it is all taken care of along with them contacting you to send the tech out when the part arrives. Instead you contact Guardian for them to send tech, for tech to order part, for you to pick up part from furniture store, then call Guardian back to set up appt.

Literally the most inefficient warranty service I have ever seen. Horrible customer service and I am stuck with this now. I was completely blown away by lack of follow up and that I got no response from my email back in January. Had I read reviews on Guardian before I bought the furniture I most definitely would have made a different decision. So to sum up... I have had the furniture less than a year and part of it has not worked since November 2017 and we are in March 2018 with it still not fixed! Great warranty... NOT.

We were in the process of buying a house and I gave my new address four different times down the furniture store. They said they would mail the leather out but they mailed it to my old house and closed the claim out. Every time I called back, they said they couldn't find the claim so it was ridiculous. I ended up having to get another chair, which they took care of but after 30 to 40 phone calls. I had another claim for the button of my recliner chair that wasn't working. It was an electric chair and it wasn't reclining. They came out and fixed it quickly.

Guardian's customer service reps were fine. However, they say they put notes into my account but there were never any notes for them to follow-up on so I would have to constantly explain myself over. Every rep also said they changed my address but then it was never changed so it was frustrating. And then, I had to wait on hold for 30 to 40 minutes to speak to someone so it was also frustrating. It was a long process but once I got someone on, they were good.

When I bought a furniture at La-Z-Boy, they offered a protection and being that the furniture was new and I watch my grandson during the day, I thought it would be best to have the protection. However, for whatever reason, a spill like even a drop of water, gets absorbed into the fabric. I kept going back to the furniture store and asking if it's supposed to, and they say that's the way it is. I always thought a protection would be kind of a sealant like Scotchgard. When I've had some milk spill, by the time I picked up the cup and got something to dab it with, the milk was already in the fabric. I took the cushions to La-Z-Boy so they could tell me why it was stained and they had no reason to be able to explain it. So they called Guardian Protection Products to set up a claim.

The gentleman from Guardian who came did a great job. While I was very satisfied as far as that goes, I'm very disappointed with La-Z-Boy on the products they're using. And nobody can give me a direct answer as to what kind of protection La-Z-Boy sprays on my sectionals' fabric. If it's just a fine mist, it's not protecting the fabric. But as for Guardian Protection Products, I would definitely recommend them. It was a good claim taken care of.

I have tried to make numerous claims regarding my furniture and were always denied. The most recent problem I tried reporting was that the spring on my couch is broken, causing it to rip my cushion when I removed it to clean. I clean my couch twice a week due to having children, so I know it happened sometime within the last couple of days. When I filed my claim, the representative gave me a response of it not being covered, even though my contract that was emailed to me by the representative herself, states that “Structural or component failure due to normal residential use that results in the breakage of frames, mechanisms, welds, swivel bases, recliner handles and assembled joints, component mechanical and electrical failures such as defective motors, massagers, vibrating units and heaters.”

The subcategory states that the fabric comprehensive plan includes: frames, springs, and sleeper, reclining, inclining, heating, and vibrating mechanisms will be covered after the manufacturer’s warranty. There should be no reason for this company to deny this claim. In fact, not only am I upset about the poor handling of the claims, but this has turned into a safety hazard for my children.

If one of my kids accidentally slides into the couch, they could easily put their foot through the spring that is sticking up. Guardian needs to stand by their service and not turn customers away when trying to get a simple problem fixed. The armrest on the same couch has buckled from normal wear and tear use, and again, they claim they “do not cover this.” I will never again purchase their insurance, nor shop from a store that sells it. Called them to verify if they have received the email and said "yes", was told that it will take about 10-21 to process. After approximately 15 days, I called back and said the Technician from Tri-City Furniture will call soon. Set up an appt for the tech to come. On Oct, the tech came only to leave without the fixing the damage because he was told that the problem was electrical. It was very disappointing since we sent them a "full and clear picture of the damage". The tech said he needed to go back to the company and because he did have the part needed.

Did not hear from them. So I called Guardian again on what happened after a week or two and said that the part was ordered through Jerome's. Called Jerome's and said that it will take 120 days for the part to come. By this time, many weeks has passed by. In 2018, I called Jerome's follow up and only to be told that they are no longer doing business with the manufacturer therefore will be not able to get the part. Another disappointment!! Jerome's sent out an email to Guardian notifying of the situation.

After a few days, again, I have to call Guardian to follow up and was told that they requesting a quote from Jerome's and it will take 10-15 days for processing. Also, I was told the my claim has to be reopened again because it was closed. I was told the their system automatically closes claims even though they were not resolved. I ask them why, and the answer was, it is just how the system works. So Feb comes, I have to call them again only to be told that the Technician from the same company that did not do anything will come back and set up an appt. It is now March 1st, going on almost 6 months still no resolution. SO PEOPLE BEWARE!!! WORST COMPANY!!! FRUSTRATING!!! LAST RESORT, SMALL CLAIMS COURT!!!

Guardian Protection Products is a scam. They state they are nationwide and can service anywhere. False. We purchased a dining table in Sioux Falls, SD while visiting family. We live in Omaha, NE though. With our sales rep we called Guardian to confirm the distance wouldn't be an issue. They confirmed we would get the same service in Omaha as we would in Sioux Falls. Again, false. After filing a claim we received a letter in the mail that they can not service nor deliver in Omaha. They offered us $140 to keep the damaged table or an in store credit for the price of the table in the event they did not carry the same table. Thankfully, they carry the table as we bought the whole set so the chairs and bench would not match the same distress and wood pattern of a different table.

I followed up with Guardian telling them we'd like the exchange. The catch is we're expected to drive the damaged table from Omaha to Sioux Falls in order to pick up the new table. Why is it our responsibility to deliver them a table they'll fix or use for parts? The table should be delivered to us as they've completely inconvenienced us. This isn't our first claim we sent either. Our first claim was never processed properly as they never sent the follow up email. The rep took my information and told me that they would have a company that was in the area to call me to schedule an appointment. Then it took about five days before a tech was dispatched. We only had the couch for a few months, and, so far, the protection plan has met my expectations. I realized I should have received a cleaning kit with the plan, but I did not contact them back to get one. Overall, I am happy with the service, and I would recommend Guardian Protection Products.

To report a new incident, the phone wait times are longer than 30 mins each time. A call back within 30 mins doesn’t happen either. I’ve tried reporting a rip in my couch, the occurrence is suppose to be within 5 days. I’ve been trying to get hold of someone for 3 days now without any luck. I believe this may be deliberate so they don’t have to deal with customers and any type of work. They are aware of how precious your time is. I wish I didn’t purchase the warranty. Star furniture is a good furniture company but this is what they offer for their furniture protection. Useless!!! I would rate this a 0 Star if I could!

I mistakenly used a category of what happened to my furniture and the company never let me change the info to be more specific which would describe damage that should have been covered. They would not even help me try to remove the stain. I would never use them again or purchase from a company that uses them. Don’t waste your money and definitely this company doesn’t give your piece of mind!! Stay away.

I waited 30 minutes for someone to answer the phone and letting me know if 3 minutes that they can't help me. I bought some love sofa 3 years with the guarantee on it. I thought it was a good idea since i have a infant that all throw things around. I decided to request a cleanup and they told me that they can not help me due that my sofa have many stain. I am asking my refund back due that they are not helping solve this issue and I never have used their service. Please don't buy their service. It will save you from this.

Guardian did an amazing job. Part of our sectional had gotten a disgusting dog slobber with bone residue on it. Guardian called me because they got the request from the furniture store company. And they were very pleasant. They had already handed out a time and a day that would work so that I wasn’t waiting on the phone. They were trying to figure out what days would work well so it was a really quick phone call. They were able to send someone within a week. The service technician who came out and cleaned the couch was so nice. And I fell asleep when he was trying to contact me. He was super patient, and he had to wait for 15 minutes, and he wasn’t getting a reply back from me. He was not upset. He was super understanding, so I appreciated that.
