I got grandkids and with the way people's houses are getting broken into, I decided to get Guardian Protection Services. The rep did a good a job and showed us how to set the alarms. He also told us how many seconds we had to get out the door and to set it if we're going to be gone. We’re also told about the motion detector and how it worked. The tech also did a good job and was really polite. It's good to have when you have kids and a sick husband. The way the world is today, you get broken into even if you're at home, at least they'll let you know if somebody is coming at the front or back door.

I thought Guardian Protection Services was something I was going to be happy with, but things aren't working the way that I thought they were going to work. I thought it was a monthly bill that I was going to have and that was okay. But as soon as I had it, I had to call the company to come and work on it because the equipment is messed up. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes we get it fast and sometimes we don't. They called me a week ago because they want to charge me for the first month. They never told me that I was going to be charged for the first month. It's not right. If it is something that I got to pay monthly, they should at least let me have the first month. The equipment was installed on the 14th last month so it hasn't been a month yet. And why I should I pay for it when the equipment hasn't been working right?
They have sent people three times to my house trying to make it work right. The last time, they told me that I had to buy this piece on my own because they didn't supply that piece. It was to give more space for the camera. I went to a store to buy this piece and it cost me $300. I get a little more speed out of the system but it cost me $300 when the company should have supplied me with it. The customer service reps have not been bad though. They do what they have to do. So far, the system is working okay, just a little slow. But I won't recommend Guardian. I'm not happy with them.

An agent came to my house and told me about Guardian Protection Services and they were good. During the installation, they gave me a demonstration and explained to me everything. My system’s features are good. I would recommend Guardian Protection Services to a friend.

I've had Guardian for a little over a month now. I had Vivint before and I felt secure with it but Guardian’s service is $7 a month cheaper and they updated my control board here. It's also simpler to use and I got everything that I want it to do. The technician was also fabulous and very helpful. He showed me everything about the system and we had a good rapport. He did a great job. I let the alarm go off one time and the customer service reps were very courteous and helpful. I forgot I had it set and walked out, and they were perfectly understanding about that. My experience with Guardian could not have been any better.

In Arizona, Guardian uses door-to-door salespeople, particularly to target the elderly. The company works under the name of Skyline. My mother fell for the sales pitch and signed the contract. Once hooked into a contract, impossible to get out, even if she is in ill health, sold the home last March so the service is no longer in place, and now lives in a senior center. No amount of bargaining has been successful, so now we have been sent to a collection agency. Guess I will have to resort to an attorney to get my mother out of this situation.

It’s easy working with Guardian. I have their system installed and everything seems to be working good. But I have one unit that has an issue with the battery and went offline, so I got to check that out when I get home. With Guardian, we know if somebody’s there and I like that we can hear if the glass breaks. I would recommend Guardian.

The Guardian reps were very nice and they put the security system in right that same day. Installation was good and they cleaned up after themselves. The installer showed me how to use the system but I’m old-fashioned and I wanted a book with bigger letters because it’s hard to read on that little pad. He said that he had made up a little booklet for that. He was going to bring it by but he never did. But they’re coming today because I had some workers here to paint and they were taping up everything.
They tore the doorbell off somehow, knocked it down and try to put it back up and they couldn’t. We looked at it, just little tiny screws to put it in the front and I wasn’t happy about that and they’re coming back today to replace it. But I should have told them I want it recessed inside the plaster because if a robber wanted to enter really bad, they can just knock it off. Besides that, since having them I feel a lot safer. I know if someone’s coming in or out of the door which is nice. I am very happy with them.

The Guardian rep that I talked to was very courteous and polite. He asked about everything I asked. However, I haven't been having good luck with the system. I've had the system for almost a month now and it's been constantly going off, saying my door or a window is open when they're not. It’s just me and my son who is bed-ridden so it’s not like someone moved the window. I haven’t been able to set my alarm since I’ve had it because it constantly goes off. I've called Guardian and someone came out last week but I’m still having the same issue. As soon as they left, the issue started all over again. I’m not too pleased with that. The only thing I really like is the doorbell camera.
Also, they only gave me one pad, and with ADT, I had one in the front and one in the back. They told me that they could only give one pad and if I want another pad, they told me it was going to be $600 dollars more. It’s not that loud so I can’t really hear it, and it’s in on my cellphone. I don’t want a system basically dependent on my cellphone. They should give more than one pad, but I guess it’s a blessing because if I had one in my bedroom and it was going off too, I would have smashed it at the wall and threw it out the window.

My realtor put me in contact with Jonathan, who called me by phone and we talked on the phone a couple times. Then eventually, he came out to the house to give us a quote. He was alright. The one thing that I wasn't so happy with was he said that Guardian Security wouldn't do a hard credit check and they did. So, I called about that and I sent the woman I spoke to a letter stating that I did not give them permission to do that. I'm still waiting for that lost point to fall off my credit report. Other than that, the system is fine. We got the basic pad that goes right in front of the door. It has a built-in camera hooked to see the front of the door. We got the ring thing that's kind of the alternative. We'd have to use our phones for that though. Guardian Security is good and I'd recommend them. I'll just watch out for that credit check. Overall, I'm happy.

I had the alarm system installed eight days ago and since the very first day, I've been unable to arm the system! I've contacted Guardian THREE times and THREE times I've been told someone will contact me (on one of THREE numbers given to them!) to schedule an appointment for someone to come to my home to service the system. THREE times! I've gone out of town and been unable to arm my system, but Guardian's best solution was to check their "interactive app" to see what's wrong. THE SYSTEM IS SCREWED UP! Fix the damn thing!! Seriously going to cancel! Horrible service, waste of money, and THEY DO NOT CARE!!

Guardian Protection Services' features are good. I like that we have a fob that we can use to open and close the house or turn the system on and off. Their sales rep was efficient and answered any questions I had. The person I spoke with did the installation as well which was good. I didn't have somebody else coming in. I was very happy with their service. They were courteous, thorough and efficient. I would refer them.

The installer was very good. He put up everything I told him to and how I wanted to do it. I use the smartphone features, but I get confused sometimes because I’ve only had it for a month or so. But so far, I haven't had any complaints. I have an apartment and people know that I have Guardian, so they don't come towards my place.

Guardian had a lot more to offer than my previous security system provider so I went with them. They also had cameras and that caught my eye. I liked their personnel, too. They were very kind, considerate, and very helpful when needed. Then, every time I called them, they were very friendly and courteous when it came to answering my questions. The installation was nice as well. When the system wouldn’t work, the installers stayed on it until it did. It was a neat and professional job. I am going to get more equipment from Guardian.

I wanted the one-man installation I saw at the state fair that's why I went with Guardian Protection Services. Both the sales and customer service reps were considerate and nice. The installer did a good job and was really nice as well. He walked me through it all. The system works fine and got plenty of options too if I want to buy them later on. We usually don't set the system every night but it's good when we're gone.

I’ve had Guardian for more than 10 years now and so far, everything has been fine. We’ve had issues with the billing but it gets resolved. The first home that we bought was pre-wired with Guardian. We had a couple of new things installed later. Several times, installers had to come out and do upgrades. But the recent one, he came out and did a partial install. We have the door keypad and smoke alarm. But he was unable to put up the cameras that we have from our previous address. I've still been waiting on a phone call from customer service about swapping out one of our cameras for a doorbell camera. I called I think a week ago, Friday and I haven't heard anything yet from customer service.
I enjoy the system and I like that I can control it from my phone. Before, when I had the cameras, I was able to look and see who was coming to my house. I get a notification anytime somebody walked up to the doorstep. It gives us a good feeling as far as sense of security. We rest easier at night knowing that if something happens, we're going to be woken up by a loud noise. Guardian a good company, trustworthy, and I would recommend them.

The sales rep from Guardian Protection Services walked up to my house, knocked on the door and started asking me if I’d be interested in a home security system. I sat down with him, went over my options and decided to get it. But I had a problem with one of the doors that was lining up and I expected them to come here and refix the center. Then I had to call the people who repair equipment and their stuff because there has been a little bit of an irritation when the sensors were not working right and another one should have been put in one area that I missed. Also, when I’m getting a bunch of kids into another car and I haven't set the alarm and left, I would figure I can do it on my phone since they had me put the app on my phone. But when I get down the road and try arming it, it’s not arming so somebody could still get in. Then Guardian will not pay my deductible because the alarm never armed.
The installation team came back and solved the problems but anytime something is resolved, I feel that I find another error. Since they told me that I could cancel within three days, I almost wished I called them and told them to just get their stuff after that third day. As it is, I also tried finding out if there was any way to reduce the price because it is out of our budget, and if it’s not working at 100%, it’s a frustration for me. It's also not a necessity for us since we’re not in a very dangerous neighborhood and we have other safety security features in our home. We have all new windows and doors, so they have all new locks. We also put out light sensors outside all our doors. We have a whole lot of safety features so the risk isn’t that high.

A Guardian salesperson was canvassing our neighborhood and I had already been looking into programs. So, he came on the right day and offered me a deal. I'm happy with the doorbell cam, the fact that I can unlock the door remotely is nice and I like being able to see when someone's at my front door though I'm not using all of system’s fullest potential yet. I would recommend Guardian Protection Services. They were very easy to work with.

The people at Guardian Protection Services have all been good, so far. The installer was polite, friendly, walked me step-by-step how to arm and disarm it. It was awesome. The features on my system are all working great. But on the other hand, I would like to have, later on down the road, a few security cameras and a doorbell. I also like its smartphone feature. It is easy to use and it explains everything step by step. Overall, the system is functional and I would recommend it. My fiancé is more comfortable being here by herself now with this being armed and alarmed.

We had a few things happen around our home that made it a good idea to get a security system. Guardian Protection Services were offering a good promotion at the time. The people at Guardian have always been helpful. The salesperson tried to get us every deal that he could. I've even been able to get a hold of salesperson after. Like when I had to get a letter for my insurance company and they were really good about helping me get that and make few corrections. Then, we bought a house and we were able to move our security system from one house to another. The technician who came and helped us installed it into our second house was very conscientious about making it so that it would work best for the design of the house and the way we were set up. So, he was very good about being meticulous and making sure our system was set up so that we were covered well.
During the system’s installation on the first and second time, they were both pretty good about explaining how the break would work on the windows and how all of it would alert us. It was very nice to have the app on the phone. When we were on vacation, we had something happened where Guardian responded quickly. Nothing was wrong and the police came quickly. So, it all just worked out very well. We haven't had any problems. They seem to know what they were talking about and I really appreciate the professionalism that they had. The system has good features, anything more would be like complicated and more elaborate. I also like the smart phone feature, though sometimes, it takes a little too long to load. Overall, they have done well for us.

The remote that Guardian Protection Services gave me when they came and put my new system in was a piece of junk. They sent me one a while back which started to blink. Sometimes it might work and sometimes it might not. Then the boy came here 45 minutes ago, pre-programmed a new one and it’s okay now. Also, a lot of times, the security equipment goes off on its own. The boy who came here and sold the new remote to me said it might be from the remote getting hit in my pocket but I didn’t buy that. It just started alarming with nothing going on and it has done that for a while now since I got this new remote.
So there’s been some hassles in their service and we’re trying to get them worked out. But everybody who’s been here has been nice including the kid. Their customer service rep was good too but I got a bill yesterday and saw on my checking account that they took $47 instead of $29.99. I called and they told me to prove this, that and the other. Then they said they’re going to leave it the way it was, so I told them that on the next screw up I will quit. They should also throw that automated phone system away. When I call them, I want to talk to a human and not a machine.

I wouldn't have chosen Guardian had I known what it would be like. Whoever presents the system should be more thorough and upfront before they go ahead and start installing. There wasn't a full explanation of the contract. I didn't know that I was in a contract for five years and the cost wasn't explained until after everything was installed. It is way too high compared to other systems. I also didn't get a full explanation on how to use the system.
My alarm goes off on its own every week even though I'm just sitting here. I have to keep calling them because they don't fix the problem. They installed the system but I don't know that it was installed correctly since I'm continuing to have problems with it. The technicians who come to do repairs or maintenance of the system should know exactly what they're doing because I had to have them here about four times already since I've gotten the system in. It's too costly. The features offered in my system are okay but the wireless system is not as good. My son has Guardian which has the wired system for a while and it seemed to work much better than this wireless deal. I also quit using the key fobs because every time I use them the system would go off on its own.
Nevertheless, since having Guardian Protection Services, I feel more secure in knowing that when I leave and I get back home, if it has tripped, I'm okay. The techs who installed the system were friendly too. Since I don't use that key fob that they gave me, I use my phone a lot to set the alarm when I leave. I also like the doorbell camera. I check on it all the time.

My husband likes to have security systems and it seemed like a good idea to pre-wire our house. Guardian Protection Services was the package offered by the company that built our home so we switched to them from ADT. We have three functioning systems: the security system, the smart central system, and a sound system. It was the best all-inclusive package and the security system was the best connected. The security service has been good overall but the customer service wasn't great.
The sales representative gave us misleading and confusing information. It was also a long sales meeting. I had to stop him after two hours, which is part of the reason it went slow. There was a lot of misinformation about what was included and they don't set up everything for the customer. I spent half an hour being walked through about how to set up the complicated internet system on the phone. Also, they don't bring all the cables that are needed. It's a no-brainer that they should offer it all if they're offering that kind of fancy, expensive service. They explained that it was company policy, which is fine, but their competitors are going to offer it all. With that, I'd tell a friend to be careful of the sales representatives in our area and the information they're giving them. Also, I'd tell them to get the basic package if they'll be doing what I'm doing.
With the smart central thing, it was confusing to figure out which cable goes to the main one while reading the labeled cables and a crumpled-up spec sheet. It's now working but I can't figure out why Guardian haven't connected that on their own because it's like including $10 worth of cables more than they include. It could have been set up and ready to go but instead it wasn't. I had to do it over the phone with a guy because he refused to send someone else out. And everybody was condescending about it. My husband is from a foreign country and I felt like they were trying to place the blame on him and his English, but his English is very good.
Ironically, after I got the system working, the guy asked me to give him a good review. And I didn't say anything. He thought he was offering good customer service because he got on the cell phone with me and taught me how to connect it myself instead of sending someone out. It was far from what is good customer service to me. I wasn't demanding and mean to him, but I'm sure I could have gotten him to send someone to come out had I been mean.
And then, we had a problem with the surround sound because they don't offer the receiver. The sales rep explained that the surround sound system comes ready-to-use but it was not true. It's $500 away from being ready to be used because the receiver had to be bought separately and no one told us that. It was written on one of the papers but there was no explanation of it. And once I got a receiver, Guardian wouldn't touch it. We were stuck with trying to figure out how to make their system speak to other technology and that was a huge confusion challenge for us. In the end, the sound system works but we were unhappy with the process to get there and it was more expensive than we had anticipated. All of our systems are working and we're happy. But I would not want to go through that experience again and I can't recommend for somebody else to get the same service we did unless Guardian offers to take care of it all.

Our old system promised us everything and then, they ended up not being able to keep up with their claims. We also wanted to go wireless and they wanted $1,000. We got Guardian and it has been okay. I'm really excited about it being wireless. We have smoke detectors and also, a heat sensor plus the fire alarm, which is a huge plus. We have a glass breakage sensor, too, which our old system did not have and for them to put it in was going to cost us an arm and a leg. Plus, the phone app is kinda nice. Although, for an older person, who isn't tech savvy, an app can be very frightening. I use it just fine but I have to make sure I'm the first one home so everybody else doesn't set off the alarm.
Everybody from Guardian has been really nice, so far. The fellow who installed the system was as sweet as he could be. He was very cordial and polite. The only problem I had was after he had been in my crawlspace, he came in the house and asked if I wanted him to take his shoes off. It has been raining so shoe covers are something that should have been a given.
The instructions given could have been a little bit more detailed on the operation only because it's totally different than what we were used to. Their customer service reps have been helpful but I'm an older woman so my brain cells don't operate on a young woman's scale. It's not really user-friendly and I wish that it came with a picture book. You would think that all you would have to do is press a button that says, "arm" and one that says, "disarm" and it's not the case. But it has been just a slight issue.

Guardian is similar to the service of my other security provider and the only difference is the light video cam that they have. During installation, there was Angel one and Angel two. Both were very professional and efficient. They took care of it and they were awesome and great. I love the system and it reminds me to turn on my alarm at 9:00. Also, the response time is incredible. The first time, my husband forgot to turn it off and he got nervous. They were on it and came quickly. So far, I'm very happy with the service and the personnel that I have interacted with are high quality.

The builder told me about Guardian Protection Services and the system has worked out the way I was envisioning it. So far, so good. There was a false alarm with my son and they made me feel comfortable and helped me out. Their response time was excellent and they're very courteous and helpful. Being a first-time homeowner, they've also assisted me and gotten me through.

We built a house and Guardian was our option. ADT came literally the day we were moving in but we told them we were good. Guardian's customer service reps have all been fantastic. They were friendly and thorough in helping us get to know our system. They always came at a good time. It’s convenient. They were pretty close to the hours that were set for us. One time, the rep was even early. I'm impressed. I really like the features of the Guardian system. They cover our needs. I like that there’s a button for the separate emergency unit. That’s cool. I also like that there is a distress code. So far, it’s been great with Guardian. I am feeling secure especially with three little ones. I know when the doors are being opened and which one is. I highly recommend Guardian.

I saw Guardian at a home show and the rep I had spoken to went over the price and what they have for the plan. I signed up and I got myself walking to a contract half the deal. I only had their service a couple of months and the security system does what it needs to do. The smartphone features work and I use them every day. I use it to turn on and off the system. In addition, they care about their customer service. If anybody wants an alarm system, Guardian Protection seems to be okay.

Guardian Protection Services has an amazing system and the contact that I have with their employees was nice and comfortable. Their installer Angel was very informative and to this day, I can still call if I'm not sure with something. He's still very responsive to me and that makes me feel good. Even when I'm testing my unit, the employees were very courteous and I'm having a good experience so far. Also, I like the features and I think they are making a difference, but I'm not happy with thinking that somebody is peeping on my camera. I think I'm being watched in my house and that makes me second guess. Other than that, their prices are very competitive and I'd definitely tell my friends to try the system.

We were researching security systems back at our old house and I heard good things about Guardian. I went to talk to one of their representatives and he explained how we can use it, what the services were, and what services we could take advantage of. He wasn’t pushy if I wanted certain things. He explained what the cost would be and the cost efficiency. It was the fact that they weren't going to charge me a ton of money to put it in that I initially went with them. I had a good experience, so when we moved, we kept them.
We have the CO2, the fire, the burglary, all the breaking stuff features. Installing it the first time was great and the second time was a little confusing because it was a new construction. The gentleman who came to put this online all of a sudden wasn’t sure where anything was. So somebody else had to come back and finish it up but we didn’t get all the services we were supposed to get. It turned out they couldn’t give us the cell phone service where it'd come on like a two-way regular system because there weren't enough lines.
Nevertheless, Guardian allows me to relax. We have the ability to check the alarm system on our phone, which I love, and also shut it and unarm it. At night when we put it on and go to bed, we know that no matter what, if something goes wrong, we will know about it. That’s a very good feeling when you're in my age. I have set off the alarm a couple of times and right away, within minutes, they’d call. It's a good service. They provide what they say and they stand behind their product. That’s all a consumer could ask for and I have recommended them to people.

I was happy to say the least to buying a new home. When I setup with a representative with Guardian for their services they sent Sammye **. He sat down with my wife and I explained the services Guardian provided. I am a network engineer by profession. After going through our options and writing it down. After contacting Mr. ** after the installation I noticed that the Smart Panel was in the wrong room and also I was missing a outlet I paid for. After speaking to Mr. ** after several attempts I informed him that what we signed off on the diagram is not the same as the work provided. Mr. ** in return blamed LENNAR. I was so frustrated going back and forth with him when in our diagram showed that our system was in the wrong location and I had no outlet for my router after paying for one.
My first bill just came and they are charging me $2 to send me a bill. My wife and I told Mr. ** that we would be paying our bill online and there was no need for a paper bill. To my dismay today they tell me that the only way I can have paperless billing is to SIGN UP FOR AUTOMATIC PAYMENT. I told the rep that I didn’t want to sign up for automatic billing. The rep and a supervisor informs me this is the only way I can receive paperless billing is to have my bank acct or credit card on acct. I have been a victim of identity theft and I will never store my credit card or bank info online. Now I am being charged a fee of $2 each month. These type of practices must stop. I will be cancelling my services as soon as I can and I will warn all of my new neighbors of these practices!

Guardian Protection Services has a good alarm system and I've got it now. It's better than the one I had before. The installation was good and the installers were professional and did great. The quality of the equipment that I got was good. The smartphone app was actually very good and we use it well. I called back a week ago regarding the payment because I had signed a contract for six months to pay $54.79 each month, but on August 18 they charged me $61 and some cents for the first month. I called back a week ago regarding the payment and the customer service rep tried to help me. She said that my bill of $61 plus was only for one month and it would be $54.79 for the next month, so I'll wait and see what they will charge me for the next month. When I didn’t have the Guardian protection service yet, I wasn't sure what to do with my home. But since having it in our home, I feel safe and I'm sleeping better, and I've recommended it to my friends.

We've been with Guardian for three years now and we had them at a previous address. We liked their price and we purchased the system through a dealer. The installation wasn't a pleasant experience though. The technician wound up putting the outside camera where he thought it would be best and not where we wanted it. So they're going to come out and re-do it. Unfortunately, they had to reschedule a few times. There's an issue with the technician. Other than that, we definitely feel a little better having the system and I really put that much trust in it.

We were with Monitronics before we changed over to Guardian. A Guardian rep came over and said that they would take care of whatever is left in the balance of our contract with Monitronics when we switched, but the problem has been dragging on. Monitronics is still calling us and telling us that since we’re paying Guardian and not them, they're going to send collection soon. They're not canceling our system until the balance is paid up. So I called Guardian and they told us to take care of it. We told Guardian that if we're going into collections, then we have to go back to Monitronics who is right now having us on the hook. We just want to be with one system and be done.
Other than that, I'd tell a friend that he'd get a good system for a good price with Guardian. We like their sales reps and the improvements and upgrade on the quality of service. That was a big part of why we switched over. The tech who installed the system showed us how to use it, as well as the ins and outs of some of the accessories we didn’t have before. We also like that we get notifications of when the alarm is set and disarmed when I’m not home so I know when my wife has left in the morning and my wife knows when I get home for the night because we have different shifts.

The installation of my Guardian system was good. The technician was really nice and he explained everything to me. He answered all my questions. Everything that I would want is there. However, I keep getting that something with my front door and window is malfunctioning. When I open the door it’ll keep saying, “Front door open.” It’s like the door’s been open all day. And it’ll keep going on and on and on. Yesterday it did it three times. They told me maybe it could’ve been because they were old sensors, but I’ve never had a problem with it. They said they were going to come out on Saturday and they never came out. I’m going to call them and ask them.
It’s hard to get a hold of them though. They told me that since they’re local, it’s easier to get a hold of them and they won’t charge me. But I haven’t even been able to get a hold of them. The only time I got a hold of them was when I talked to somebody telling me that there’s a sensor malfunction. Also, the Guardian rep said he was going to pay my bill because my contract wasn’t up yet, so I’m still waiting for that to happen. Other than that, everything’s okay. I’m trying to get my mom to go to them, but she has a bad experience with her other system, so she doesn’t want it anymore.

We bought a house this summer and took over the Guardian system that the previous owner had used. I had an alarm go off last weekend because my mom went in the house and she didn’t realize the alarm was armed. Guardian Protection called in less than a minute. I felt like it was super quick and they went through the steps of securing the house and made sure that everything was okay. My husband is deployed and I got two babies so the system makes me feel a lot better with him not being home. I feel a lot safer with having the security system because before having the security system, I was more hesitant to look into it myself when I hear something. I had problems with both of the home security system that I have. Guardian told me that whatever the device was on the phone that burned the unit that I had, they tried to upgrade it. That was the feel that I got. I still had some difficulty and they had to come out two or three different times. Something's still wrong but I didn't know what it is. Someone who knows more about the operation of the unit needs to look at it and tell me what's going on. The service people that came out were unable to do anything right then. They called the one who installed it. He came out and reprogrammed it and he got it working fairly well.
The features looked very good. I wished I could see some of the things that I saw before because there's a little difference in the way that I can get back to the unit. There was a bell before and all I had to do was touch the bell but I don't see it anymore. However, if somebody rings my doorbell, it lets me know that somebody is there. The unit before enables me to speak to whoever was at the door. I don’t see that feature now with the smartphone. There’s still a little bit more to be desired.

I've used ADT previously and, so far, I like the Guardian really well. The newer tech with the phone and the key fob is nice. The rep who sold it to me was really good. He contacted me again to make sure we were happy with it and if we had any questions. We had a little issue at the very beginning with our motion detectors. They were, for some reason, setting off. He promptly took care of it for us. He placed the different stuff in there so that it wouldn't do that. I got along great with him. The installer did a good job too. He was in and out very fast. Calling back up to the actual monitoring service, they contacted us so I didn’t have any issues with them.
We live out in the country, so it's very much sense of security for my wife and family when they're there too. Definitely knowing that I can know if anything’s wrong gives a sense of safety at home. We definitely are feeling pleased with it. I definitely have no regrets at this point going with Guardian. I would recommend them to people in the future.

My parents have always had Guardian for a very long time. Guardian has been reliable for my parents so I went with them in the long run. I contacted them before we even moved in about three months ago and the reps were helpful. I like the Guardian app especially because I travel a lot for work and so does my husband. We have people stopping by to feed the animals and we are able to see what kind of activity has gone on. The quality of their equipment is good and none of the alarms have gone off because we haven’t had any incidents. Guardian is easy to use and reliable and I’d definitely recommend them.

The Guardian Protection salesman did a good job. He met me and got me going, but there's a little bit of pressure on his part. Also, the installers were really good and were awfully cordial. The smartphone features work all right and I use them all the time. I also got a sign put in front of my house as a deterrent. I’d get out and get it installed without the system just for a little less money, just to have a sign. I’m paying a pretty good number on a system for a five-year basis. Now, they’re locking and they get all the work, so I’m hoping for the best.

I took over the alarm monitoring system when I purchased our home. The system was already 7 plus years old and we had to recently switch to a cellular device add on due to eliminating a landline. We were customers... Paying customers since 2010 prior to this. Ever since the "upgrade" we have had an extreme amount of false alarms. The alarm goes off indicating a door has been opened. We immediately punch in our code and several minutes they call to obtain the password. Unfortunately we can't always answer so they call the police.
I understand if we did not immediately enter our disarm code within seconds but they still call us and send the police. I have tried relentlessly to fix this problem. They send a test signal and say everything is ok. Well obviously not. Now we are trying to cancel our alarm and they want over $1000. As a retired police officer and a local realtor I highly recommend you contract with another company who offers month to month so that when problems arise, they don't charge you to stop the bleeding. Guardian is highly overrated and several companies offer better service at a better rate.

Everybody at Guardian Protection Services was very friendly, very helpful and very informative. They also explained everything like they should and I was very impressed. The installation took a little longer but the people who installed the system explained why and walked me through everything. They troubleshooted and it was very good. I have a son with special needs so I have the camera in my home. That's very important to me and the other places that I used could not do that for me. Then I have the intercom system which I like and it all ties in with the doorbell. I also plan on adding some features like another camera.
So far, it’s been a great experience and I’m very pleased with Guardian. We currently have a lot of construction workers around since my neighborhood is under construction but the security system makes me feel more secure. We’re also very comfortable with our safety at night. I will be the best spokesperson for Guardian right now because I praise them. In fact, I have a friend who has them and because of what I was telling her, she called them and had some upgrades in her system. Now, she’s extra happy about her upgrades.

Guardian does better compared to my previous security alarm. Their sales associate explained to me that the system lets me see on the phone if a person I don’t know comes in. A guy and a girl did a fine job connecting everything and explaining to me and my wife how it works. So far, I can use its features on my company telephone, as well as on wife’s phone. Guardian Protection Services is good and one of my daughters has one.

I corresponded via email with someone from Guardian who was handling the account for the house that we bought. He took care of everything over email and digitally. There also was a person who came and updated a couple of things. He was knowledgeable, professional, very nice and knew what he was doing. The features offered in our system are on par with everything else I've seen and I like their smartphone features. I use the Total Connect app but I wish I could use the Guardian app because it looks nicer. I also like the idea of cameras which Guardian has and the cost is worthwhile on there. The performance of my system is very good but it's a little sensitive. I have a large dog in a kennel and that sets off the glass break sensor in one room. Other than that, I'm happy with the system and I feel safe having it. It's been a hassle-free experience with Guardian.

We had Protection One previously but I like Guardian Protection Services better because of the features that we didn’t have before like the remote control which is pretty handy. Also, they are $5 cheaper. The installation team was super. It was simple to switch over because most of the equipment was left over. In the beginning, they owned the equipment from Protection One so there wasn’t much change. It’s a good deal.

We have a business that we bought, so using Guardian was already an existing contract. Their customer service representatives were very professional. They called and we changed over the account from the previous owners to ours. They had a guy come out and reset everything. He also gave us a quick tutorial on any prevention for people that try to get in or the special codes that we could do in turning off the alarm and it was good. It's only been two months and we're still trying to get things straight with the business. I know where all the sensors are and they're in the entryways. I also feel secure that if something does go wrong, things will happen in the right way. Overall, I feel very safe having Guardian Protection Services.

I've had few security systems in the past. We moved and chose Guardian as our security system provider. Their sales rep came to the door, I spoke to them for a little while and it was good. The installation went smooth. But there were a couple of equipment mix-ups in terms of what I was supposed to get. And then they put it in another truck. They had to get with the tech and bring the stuff to my house but it wasn't a big deal.
The system's features are pretty good but I would like the box itself to look a little more modern. It's a little bulky and ugly. I don't like the look of it. It needs to be just smaller, sleeker. It looks like it's from the 90's or early 2000's where the last one I had was more sleek-looking and looked like I mounted a mini-iPad to my wall which is really cool. But it all functions just fine and the price is good. If you don't care about the look of the box, then they work just fine. I have the panel hooked up where it notifies me when it's armed or disarmed or if anything happens. I definitely feel better that if any of the doors open, I will be woken up and it'll call to dispatch somebody to come over to the speaker to see if it was a false alarm.

Guardian was protecting a number of homes in our neighborhood so we thought we'd join the group. We talked to both the salesperson and the installer. Their rep handled my situation well. He explained how the unit works, how they set up the system, how they programmed it to work and how to activate and deactivate it. The installation was great too. The lead tech and a new person who was starting were there. They did a good job explaining to me why they did what they did. The features of Guardian were also what we were looking look for in a security system. We've only had it a few months and haven't experienced any problems. The reason we got the system is in the winter time, we're going to be gone and the system is a good thing to have. We're new to the neighborhood, so we weren't sure. Guardian satisfied the need we have for security and if somebody was looking at it, I'll tell them to try it.

We met with somebody from Guardian to go over the features and choose what we wanted. They were very knowledgeable and it was a good interaction. Then I called customer service because I had an issue and they scheduled an appointment for a technician to come and check it out. Customer service handled that situation in an appropriate way. They were prompt and they said what they needed to say on the phone.
The installation was fine. The installer came and there were big noises like the alarm going off, which was annoying, but that was fine. They were testing it. He walked me through on how to set the security pass and then he went to test the front door camera but it was frozen. He said that if that continues then we should have somebody come out. The problem is that every time somebody would ding the doorbell, I could not get the video or be able to speak in time and the person would be gone. So I called customer service and told them that the front door camera is not working at all so there's no point in having that doorbell there.
We have just tied their product into our mortgage and it was a big mistake doing that. We have to figure out how to get this off of our mortgage. The technician came back, he did something but it's still not working. This has been going on for two weeks that the cameras don't work. I haven't heard anything about anyone coming and fixing it. The technician told me he was going to come by Friday. I saw him across the street at that day but he didn’t come by. There are so many things we're dealing with our house. I don't have time to call and then arrange when I can be here for the technician so it's very challenging. This is something that was supposed to be easy and seamless with no issue.
We wouldn't recommend Guardian to anybody. It doesn't matter that the customer service and the installation were fine and the sales people were good. The actual product isn't good and the technician never resolved the problem. There was no follow through on their end. We do not care about this service anymore since it's not working the way we want it and it's inconvenient. We needed the doorbell so that we could receive packages. I'm missing work because I have to stay home to receive packages. If we had this doorbell working, I wouldn't have to do that. We don't even set the alarm because we don't know and we don't use it so it's pointless. We would prefer to have someone come and uninstall everything. So, I'm not very happy with Guardian.

Guardian Protection Services is terrible. The customer service was awful and everything they told me was a lie. When I built my house, they told me that I’d be able to use my indoor cameras that I had from ADT. I came out here and they’re not compatible and it didn’t work. I also had a previous thermostat from ADT and they wouldn’t let me use it. When they came out and hooked theirs up, it blew the fuse in my furnace when they left and they didn’t even know about it. I had to fix that myself. They credited my account for it and didn’t let me pay my bill for a month. They are the worst I’ve ever had and if it wasn’t for the 5-year agreement and $700 cost to get out, I would definitely go back to ADT in a minute. I would tell my friends to go to ADT.

I was with Vivint initially and I was very happy with them. However, a representative from AMP Smart called for Guardian Protection Services and he gave me a price that was less than what I was paying Vivint at that time. That was a consideration for me being at my age and on social security. Also, I'm 90 years old and legally blind. I have a hard time even working with that small control system that Vivint had and the representative from AMP Smart showed me a control system and he said there would be no charge to install it.
Afterwards, I called Vivint and they told me what they would do the same system for me and give me a much bigger reduction from the original price which was a lot better for me. I called AMP Smart and told them I wanted to stay with Vivint and cancel with Guardian. However, they told me that I had a three-day cancellation period and it was the morning of the 4th. I didn't know anything about that though and I didn't have a contract with them. It was never mentioned to me either and I thought it was a 30 days cancellation period. In the process, I called Vivint to get a buyout. Then the next thing I knew, I got a call the next day that AMP Smart was honoring my cancellation. Maybe the buyout was a little bit too much for them and they decided to honor the four days. I immediately called Vivint and they came out and installed an equivalent control system, which was even a little larger.
I did not have a long-time experience with Guardian. It was just about three days but their people were okay. My interactions with the installers were very good. However, I had two bedroom windows which I saw on the street that were not hooked up. That was partially because we had stuff stored in that room and the installer couldn't get to the windows to check them. I told them we would clear out that room and that I needed those windows hooked up. He said they would come back and do that, but I never got to call him back and Vivint corrected that. They went back there and checked the two sensors. They were working and everything is hooked up. I was satisfied with Guardian and the only thing I was dissatisfied with is I paid $39.90 for that month, which was only for three days, but they told me I would get it returned to the bank. I would still recommend Guardian to anyone else.

I have Guardian Protection Services at another location and I was satisfied with it, so I got another one. Their reps answered my questions and I already knew what to do the first time around so there was no need for the install tech to explain much to me. He was good and very knowledgeable. The features offered in my system are great and the quality of the equipment is up to date. The Guardian people are really prompt and they tell me right away if something is wrong. The security system is also working well.

The Guardian rep came one evening and went over everything. I would like to also have a camera out front, but I'm not going to spend for it right now. I was using the app until my phone messed up. My phone is still not working right so I'm going to have to get it back on somehow. Guardian is a little better compared to the last company we had, but when I was out of town for a week, I called to let them know and all I got was a recording. So, after about three calls, I gave up.

I'm using Guardian Protection Services as my home security system and it's been good. During installation, their rep was there for about an hour and a half and we discussed where I wanted to put the camera, box and the main box. I asked him for some suggestions about what other people did. After he was finished, he showed me how the online system works and get the app working on my phone. All features were good and I can access everything on the phone. I need to change the alert on my phone so I won’t get so many. It doesn’t go off every time I get it, only when I go in and check. The outside camera works well. It also helps since I have a teenage daughter and having an experience with delivery that I did not get, I could use the camera to tell if they actually sent it or not.
The customer representative was straightforward. Every time I called them, they took the time to take care of everything I needed. I called because one of the sensors went offline and the person who came here took his time and figured out what the problem was. I thought it was one door and he figured out the code, fixed it and put it back online. I called the third time because the doorbell video was not working. He took his time to fix it. It’s definitely reassuring especially being in a townhouse. If anything happens, you got that alert. The thing will go off once you get in the house. That’s something I've never had before so it definitely helped.

My husband and I were with Guardian from April 2014 until recently selling our home in June 2017. Prior to selling, my husband contacted Guardian to remove the auto bill pay and make them aware of our situation in moving and not continuing the service. They asked for the new homeowner's information in an attempt to continue the 5 year contract. We did not have the new homeowner's contact information, so we referred them to our Realtor, who in return gave them the contact information. The new homeowner never received a call from Guardian and opted with ADT for the services. As a result, my husband and I were stuck with a bill for $884 due on September 2nd to satisfy the remaining five year agreement.
My husband spoke to Rep. Michael ** originally around June 19th and signed the disable agreement effective June 30th. He then spoke to Supervisor Anne ** around August 1st and agreed to the 30% reduction for the buyout of the agreement, bringing the amount to the aforementioned $884. This morning, 8/18/17, my husband received an email from Guardian indicating that they will be drafting the monthly rate of $54.95 from our checking account that is evidently still on file (which was removed back in mid-June). We were never told this by Michael ** or Anne ** that a payment would be taken.
We find this to be very unsettling and unprofessional. There should be no reason to take payment when documentation was signed and agreed to remove service. I can assure you that we will NOT be using Guardian for our future security needs in our new home or ever refer them to our friends and family. We can furnish the documentation of everything noted if need be. Highly unsatisfied. Employees were unprofessional and often rude.

I previously had the Protection 1 security system for a couple of years, then Guardian Protection Services came by and offered to take over. The security service of Guardian was a little cheaper and the sales rep answered all my questions. But when I called Protection 1 to confirm that I had written them a letter, they found out what Guardian was charging and they said that they could have done it cheaper. So, I called Guardian back and told them what Protection 1 had said.
The customer service rep of Guardian handled that situation very well. She got in touch with the sales rep through email while I stayed on the line, and the sales rep told her to give the service to me at the same price as Protection 1, so I kept Guardian's service. The installers that came were very clean and they were very good in what they did. They went around and changed all the batteries. Right now, Guardian's system is working well. On the whole, our experience with Guardian worked out very nicely and I would tell other people to get Guardian if they don't have an alarm system.

The technician who installed Guardian Protection was really nice, professional and did his job. I had a different home security system before and Guardian is a lot better. But it’s a month now and nobody sent me signs and stickers. I don’t know why I don’t have it and it’s not okay. The sales rep told me he was going to send it in the mail and I’m so busy that I never called him. But other than that, their smartphone features are easy to use, especially for my kids. Customer service is really good too. They even called a couple of times asking how it's working.

Two guys came to my front door unannounced and said they need to switch out the box on the wall. My other company, Monitronics, has supposedly gone out of business but I found out later that it wasn’t true after all the damage was done. The two installation reps took the other equipment from Monitronics out and left it with me. I let them do it because they knew what they were doing.
Thinking that Monitronics went out of business, I didn't talk to them, but when I did, they said they aren't out of business. So I didn't know that I was being charged for both prices. Somebody should have notified me, either from Monitronics or Guardian or AMP Smart, the ones that manufacture the equipment. So I'm in the process of switching back to Monitronics and I want to cancel my contract with Guardian Protection Services. I never had a problem with Monitronics and they're $20 less a month than Guardian. That will save me some money. For the same stuff, I've already got equipment and everything.

The Guardian supervisor came out. I didn't know they were going to install it on that day and it was 8:00 at night, so they didn't finish until 11:00. However, the installation was smoother than what I thought and the guy who put it in was professional. I didn't like ADT, and switched from them. Guardian's hours are better, too. Also, they contact us immediately when things go wrong and I liked the technical part of it. Someone attempted to steal my truck base, and I really liked that I could see the back and front yard inside my home from any place I'm at, and I like that the system is recording. The equipment has been good, but the business affairs' lacking a little bit. They're unable to take payment from my checking for some reason. It's been two months, and I just found out. Overall, Guardian could be a little cheaper, but my wife and I liked the system, so I'm satisfied with that and I would recommend it to a friend.

We purchased from Ryan Homes and Guardian contracts with them. Guardian offered their services and it was appealing to us. I talked to Steve, the sales person, and he's a really good guy. He even decided that we wanted to add a cable outlet and he took care of that for us. Then their installation guys came in and got everything all turned on for us. That went well as well and was pretty simple. I like the features that we have now. They're really convenient, especially the apps, and we can expand them too. But I'd like to upgrade by putting lights that I can control with the app. I would also like to add a doorbell camera and the door lock. Other than that, it’s nice to have peace of mind knowing that we got their system. I’m happy with Guardian.

I had a different provider before and they were going to charge me extra to change over. In comparison, Guardian is even a lot better because the system is wireless. Their reps also did everything they said they were going to do. They were very timely and pretty quick. The installation team did good too and they didn't take very long. They also let me know what is and what is not happening more often. Sometimes, I can leave the alarm off or I can put it on. It would tell me what the problem is and then I can go back and look at the panel to find out what's closed and what's open. With Guardian Protection Services, everything is good and I really like it. I would recommend it.

We had an old home security system before, then we changed to Guardian Protection Service, and Guardian's system is the better one. My experience with Guardian has been nice and I liked it a lot. I like the features of my system — I've put in alarms for two doors. The customer service rep was great and the installers that came out were polite, and very good and professional. Since getting the Guardian system in my home, my sense of security has been better, and I would tell a friend to go for it and get it.

Guardian's got great sales people. I loved Monica and Josh on getting set up and getting the guy to the house and the business to set them up. I liked my experience with the reps on the phone and when they answered my questions to convince me to end up with one of their security systems. When it was installed, the guy from Security Force was very quick and thorough. But he wanted to be left alone, wasn't quite the bubbly personality the whole company has and was not what I expected to show up.
I'm completely satisfied with the system's features though I wish it included a key fob for my house to give to my mother. She watches my kids so in case she needed to get in my house while I was at work, she could disarm the alarm. I also love the smart phone features. But I wish my husband would learn to set the alarm when we go to bed and quit getting up when it goes out in the middle of the night. I have to run to the Fox when it starts chirping, too. Other than that, I'm pretty good and if I'm going to choose a security system, I'm going with Guardian. I would refer them from the whole standpoint of the installation, who they worked with for that and the ease of use of the equipment. The system goes off of cell phones and I don't have to have a landline so I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've used ADT in the past and Guardian is much more sophisticated. What they offered in terms of security, sound, speakers and things of that nature, weren't offered by ADT. I had a home built and it was a new construction. Guardian met with us at the model home. I had a one-on-one sit at the table type of discussion with their reps. They went through the entire process and spent a couple of hours with me. Then everything went as planned based on the builder. Guardian's customer service stayed in constant contact with me. They emailed or phoned to check on the status even when my delivery date of the home was not kept. They would call to make sure that we don't forget to schedule and were always on top of it.
Even when they scheduled for the service to come out to be installed, they made sure they called the day before. During the installation, they were here half a day for the first part. I had to do it in two separate parts because of an internet issue with Verizon. Guardian was very flexible and they installed the security system which didn't require the internet on Monday. They did that in three to four hours and when they came back to do the cameras, it took an hour. The installation was clean, quick and easy. The technicians were all very friendly and explained the features thoroughly. Then we had another issue with a leak in the home, all the water came through and messed up one of the speakers, and the technicians had to come back out last week to replace that.
I use the phone to operate the sound system, the garage doors and turning the alarm on and off. The remote access is great. It works and I can set it up as to how many notifications I want. It gives me a sense of comfort having Guardian Protection Services in my home and so far, I had a wonderful experience with them. They are reputable, user-friendly and professional.

When I went with Guardian, they said they would pay out the contract from the other service I had before. I’m still waiting on that but all else is fine. Guardian Protection Services is a better system and an upgrade from my previous provider. I can use the system from my phone and the computer. Also, a good addition to the smart phone feature is that I could put the alarm on the front door and keep the other two doors open if I went in the backyard. My previous security company was from Texas and there was nobody local to handle things, but Guardian has someone local.
Also, their rep was friendly, answered every question I might have and walked me through, and there was no confusion. The installer was good and didn't spend long, which was around 20 minutes. He put the fire alarm up, put up new boxes on the same door, programmed it up and explained it to me. I feel good having Guardian Protection Services in my home because I don't have any guns. I would recommend it.

Guardian was my second home security system and I prefer them than the one I previously used. Their customer service reps were friendly, knowledgeable, and they helped us all the time. The installation technician was good and professional. We were offered the inside camera where it's fixed in a place and it is hooked up but I forgot we had to put another camera in the back of the yard. We didn't have enough gigabytes due to the internet that we have so we decided we'd change the internet company we were with and get more gigabytes then Guardian will come back and do the camera in the backyard. I'd tell my friends that they're good and to try them. to make a try at them and that they’re very good. My experience was easy and good.

I had cameras installed throughout my home. I installed the cameras at a significant charge although I was told by your salesman I would be able to use my cameras from my previous location. I then find out the service charge to correct any discrepancies with the cameras is through the roof. Had the service call charges been explained when I inquired about installing the cameras I would have looked elsewhere!!

This is the second security company we have experience with, the first one being at our old house. Our new house is newly constructed and the company who built that house made it mandatory to go with Guardian for a minimum amount of time before we could switch, which was disappointing, but not enough to not have a security system in place. Just take this with a grain of salt since we're comparing Guardian to our previous security company. Also, it's important to note that we've been living in our house for roughly three months now, so we haven't had an extensive amount of time with the system and, fortunately, have not had a scenario where we needed to use it.
Con - We opted for wired connections to all of our entry doors and first floor windows. We were informed that the wiring would go through the window and be hidden. We discovered that a tiny part of the wire is exposed at each location. Not a huge deal, but we were misinformed. Pro - During the initial planning phases, our security system came with a motion detector for inside of the house that we didn't want. They gave us a credit for that which we put towards our window sensors, which was nice.
Pro - The keypad is easier to use than our previous security system. Con - The keypad doesn't seem to always register when a specific door and window are opened or closed and there doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern to why this is the case. It also doesn't seem to affect arming the system, which is something we're currently monitoring to see if we need to reach out and have it fixed.
Pro - The mobile app that comes with the security system is worlds better than the third party app that our previous security system utilized. It's much more intuitive, it's faster, and I know exactly what is going on when I'm interacting with it. Con - Since this was included with the house that we built, they pre wire everything before the drywall goes up. This is also in conjunction with planning whatever tv / phone / internet hookups you desire, meaning they know exactly what needs to be installed for everything to function. The issue, at least with our house, is that they didn't plan for enough power outlets near box that houses our security and internet. I didn't discover this until after our internet was hooked up but no internet was going to our room ports.
It turns out this was because the internet installer didn't have enough outlets to plug in the ethernet switch to all of my rooms and just left the power supply to the ethernet switch hanging. I had to put a power strip in the remaining outlet (since the other outlet has the security system power supply screwed into the wall) in order to provide all of the necessary power for my internet. The internet installer should have told us this, but, ultimately, Guardian should have anticipated my setup needing more power outlets.
Pro - one feature that is nice about Guardian (that we thankfully haven't had to utilize yet) is their speaker system that basically allows someone to automatically start talk to you through a speaker in your house if you cannot answer your phone right away or reach your keypad. Additionally, if they don't get a response in a short amount of time, they send the police. Overall, there are some complaints but there are also some nice features, so I think it would just come down to better communication when planning the setup.

Guardian Protection Services is a reputable company. Their customer service rep was very good, and so was this one guy who installed the system. He explained the system very thoroughly and when he left, I was very comfortable with it. It’s a good system and I’m very happy about it. Guardian Protection Services is cheaper than everybody else and that’s what appealed most to me. They gave me a day they were going to install and the installer showed up when they said he was going to. The gentleman was funny, friendly, respectful and everything I would expect in someone who's coming into my home and working with me on this type of deal. He asked me where I would like things to be placed so that he wasn’t just throwing it wherever and he worked with me to make sure that I was happy with everything before he made any holes or did anything.
The system has worked like it’s supposed to and met the standard. All the features are awesome but being real nitpicky, I would make the interface to be a little more current. It could also be a bit nicer, cleaner and more modern with a better resolution. It’s user-friendly, but they could make it even simpler. However, I like everything a lot and it’s plenty good enough. I also feel way better having the system because I know that if someone opens my door, that thing’s going off for sure. It give me a lot more peace of mind.

Everybody was telling me that Guardian was a bit better than Protection One. The first guy from Guardian came and I told him that I thought I was under contract with Protection One so he said that he'd check into it. A second guy came and took over for the other guy. He was great, showed me everything and changed the system over to Guardian. I told him that the first guy was going to get back to me and he said that they checked it over and I was not under contract. I was also told that if I got charged for this month by both that I should get ahold of Guardian and they'd reimburse me.
Moreover, I was charged by Protection One and I had to write a letter to them but they don't take letters which is not good, so I called them. The lady that I talked to said she'd get back to me. Now, I need to call them again with my password before I can even talk to anyone. In addition, I need to call Guardian because I got a notice saying that my payment was rejected. Also, they told me that Protection One was going out of service and I don't think they are, so I don't know if Guardian was telling the truth or not. Overall, Guardian could have explained things better to me and my experience with them could have been better. They told me things that weren't true and I don't know if they were really honest with me.

My experience with Guardian Protection Services has been terrible from the very beginning. I just had a new home built. As part of the building process you meet with various vendors to select the options that you'd like included in you new home. Guardian was one of those vendors recommended by the builder. When we met with the sales associate from Guardian he seemed very unsure about everything. We assumed that he was new and continued with the appointment. We choose the services that we wanted, received a quote detailing the cost of those services and was told that we'd receive the paperwork electronically. When we received the paperwork, there was a $1200 discrepancy between the amount that we were quoted and the amount that was on the contract.
When confronted about the difference, the sales associate admitted that he had "misquoted" based on an accidental omission. After much back and forth about my dissatisfaction, the builder ultimately absorbed the cost of our entire package to illuminate any reputational risk. Months later, after my home was complete came installation. I was given an appointment window between 8am and 10am. I made arrangements to be at home during that time. I waited and waited until 10am, no technician. At that point I went to work leaving my 19 year old daughter in my home to meet the now late technician.
The technician finally arrives at approximately 10:50am. He asked my daughter "Where are you parents?" To which my daughter answers, "At work". He then tells her that he can not install without her parents. Within about 20 minutes my daughter is able to reach me to let me know what happened. I immediately call Guardian. According to the service representative, the technician left because there was no one 18 years of age or older at the residence. WHAT! My daughter is 19 years old. Never did he ask her age, nor did he ask her for ID, nor did he express his concerns with my daughter to give her the opportunity to verify her age.
I then requested that the technician return to complete the installation, as it had only been 20 minutes since he left. The technician refused stating that he had other appointments. Incredible! He showed up 50 minutes past the appointment window, makes an assumption about my daughter's age then refuses to come back...really? According to Guardian it takes 2-3 hours to install. You didn't arrive until 50 minutes past the appointment time therefore you should have 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete this job. Nope, I ended up having to reschedule.
APPOINTMENT ATTEMPT #2. Again appointment window is between 8am and 10am. I requested to be the first appointment because I didn't want the tech to run late again like the first appointment. Logical right? Nope, again the tech doesn't arrive until 9:50am. His excuse? Traffic. 1 hr and 50 minutes of traffic from South Jersey to Delaware...really? So he shuffles around in the basement for about 45 minutes only to return and tell me that there are technical difficulties connecting with the main office. It'll be an hour or 2 before he can get started. Sir are you kidding me? So now more of my time wasted.
I am writing this review as I am waiting for an update from the technician. It is now 11:16am. Nothing is done. 3 hours into the 2nd appointment that was suppose to get started at 8am. I'm not sure that I want Guardian Protection Services for my home. I haven't even gone live and the experience has been beyond terrible!!! I highly suggest that when you are considering home protection services that you steer clear of Guardian! My next contact will be to the builder for recommending this company.

We used a different home security system before that is comparable to Guardian Protection Services. We have a new house so we have a new provider. The gentleman from the installation team did a good job, and I was happy with his work. I really like the Smartphone feature as it's been very useful. The system that was sold to us worked as designed, but I certainly would like to have a larger ability to see videos on the Cloud.

We've had Guardian system for three weeks and I love the features. The Guardian reps are very responsive and helpful. Plus, the technicians have been wonderful. We had to have two installations because we didn't have the Wi-Fi, so the tech had to come back out last week, and they were very good. I'm on a house that has four levels and so the keypad is at the bottom level which happens no matter where you are. I remember when I had ADT, they gave me a complimentary key fob because I want to just press the police button real fast. But you don't have a way to do that if the control panel is way down the bottom level. So I had to pay Guardian $90 for the key fob. Although we do have the electronic feature with Guardian and everything can be done via our phones, which is fantastic. I feel satisfied with the system. Everyone in the team has been very thorough and everything is perfect.

We've had Guardian before and this time, it was part of our home package. We had the sales team as we were buying the house and the experience with them was fine. The guy who set everything up was very knowledgeable. The only thing Guardian can improve is their old keypads with numbers on it and update it to a touch screen interface. But other than that, I would recommend Guardian Protection Services.

I’m having difficulties with Guardian's product. It’s going to be a month and a half and I still haven’t got half of my equipment. When they came to install the unit, they told me that they were sorry that it was on backorder. There was a shortage and the lady said they’ll give it to me at the end of the week. Three weeks went by but they didn't show up and on the fourth week, I started calling. To top that up, I have no paperwork, just an electronic email that I signed. I also didn't have their number so I went on the web searching for it. I wound up finding it after I called five security system companies and I didn’t exist in their plan.
I finally got this number off the web and it was to a Jason. He's in charge of the San Antonio area and he was really nice. The rep that went to my house was a freelancer so he didn’t have a contract with Guardian but he’s the one that told me he'll see what he can do. He really helped me and made me feel like I got a chance here. That same day that he called me back, I wound up calling the company. I finally got their number and they opened a case.
The technician came the following day, looked at the equipment he brought and told me that it was going to give me problems. He said he'd rather not install it and they'd have to give me wireless. I told him I waited for a whole month for that so he tried. I just finished putting new panel around my house two months ago and he drilled a hole for the door camera. He took out the doorbell and said I needed to plug it in. But he still said it's not going to work so he's going to take it back, call the representative and they’ll get the wireless because that’s what I need. That was two weeks ago and this is our third week already. Now I have a big hole on my door so I’m going to have to either buy a new panel and redo the front end of the house which will cost me money or buy a regular door bell that fits the one and a half inch hole they drilled. But the thing is I’m still waiting for the wireless doorbell.
Also, I downloaded their app on my phone and I was able to access my account through my fingerprint. But I accidentally removed it and now I have to do a password. I had called for them to put it back for my fingerprint because I don’t want to keep my account open. If I lose my phone, they’ll have access to the alarm system but they told me they didn’t know how to do it. I was with Security Hawk for 17 years and the only reason why I switched over to Guardian was because their price was excellent. I thought they'd save me money, I didn’t have to pay $180 and I'm going to get an upgrade with the system. But now I regret going to this security company.

So far our experience with Guardian Protection Services has been good. It's the first home security system I've had. The technicians did well during the installation. They knew what they were doing. I have got their guy coming in here because they said the signal is not good enough here. I'm hoping he comes at the right time, so he can explain to my wife how to use it because she tried it once and I already had the police come by. When their guy comes, I'm going to have him see about the smartphone features because I've been trying to get it onto my cell phone and I haven't been able to for some reason. I want to see what it is. I was looking at the idea of putting a doorbell on the backdoor because the front doorbell gives me a view from the corner to further down the road, which is good because if anybody comes around, you can almost tell which way they’re leaving at. I'd recommend them to my neighbors no matter what.

I was with ADT for four years and they charged me for everything. Plus, their personnel was rude. Guardian Protection Services does better. The person I talked to and the installer were nice. The installer also explained everything to me and when I had a little bit of trouble on the first day, the technician fixed it quickly. There was something wrong with the panel the time it was installed and so he replaced it. He burned a couple of hours there. Guardian also responded quickly when something happened at home. We got surprised since it only felt like 30 seconds. Guardian is a very good option. It's only been a month and a half and we already got what I asked for.

Guardian had an independent contractor, AMP, that picked the right time, offered cheaper prices, and provided a better unit for what I was paying with ADT. It was like I had a system that was 10 years outdated and they upgraded me three years ago. On our street where I live, I bet Guardian picked up half the good customers that have had ADT for well over 20 years. I live in Southern California, close to Anaheim and I was told two gentlemen would arrive within an hour and a half, one was from Utah, while the other one was from Idaho. I couldn't believe how quick they were. They did the installs, and these guys were so clean that they went ahead and drilled into the walls to put the system. They were here till 10:00 at night and that's incredible.
I had that one system that when somebody rings a doorbell, the camera comes on and I can watch it on my smartphone. I signed a five-year contact, and that's okay. I had ADT for 22 years and it's like Disneyland compared to Knott's Berry Farm. Guardian is a lot better than and my experience with them is very good. They stay on top of things. If we're out and about or if I don't have the unit on before we go to bed, I get an email in the morning, letting us know that the system wasn't on.

Guardian Protection Services is new to me. I only had them for five months now and right now I'm satisfied with everything that I have, everything they did, and the way they did it. Their rep offered everything that Guardian offers. I knew what I wanted because I had an alarm system different from Guardian in my old home. The installation was done before the house and everything has been done the way I wanted it. After buying the system, I came in and my windows won't alarm. They sent a fellow over to set it all up and he was real good. He's the one who explained what I can get so I got a couple of extra features. He also explained how to use them.
My wife uses their smart phone feature. She'll set or cancel the alarm from her phone. Once, the alarm was set and I opened my rear door and by the time I got to the box to shut it off, I got a call from the loudspeaker which I didn’t even know I had. I was wondering who was talking to me and I thought that was a great feature. So far, I like Guardian and I would recommend them.

I've heard that Guardian is a very good company, and switched to them from ADT. The rep and the installer who came were well-versed. They explained the smartphone features and how to use it. They also knew what needs to be done. The whole house would be wired for protection. But one zone still needs to be fixed and they need an extra equipment to finish things up. It was hard to arm it with parts working, and other parts not. So far, Guardian Protection has been great and very responsive. I'd recommend them. If I could just get that one zone fixed, I would look at the other services they offer.

Some Guardian guy came and knocked at my door. He was nice and it was convenient to sign up so I did. The guy installed the equipment and showed me how to use them. He was also supposed to install one of my garage doors and the camera for my doorbell thing, but he couldn't. Shortly after that, I had sensors falling off all the time. One of our sensors went off in the middle of the night and I thought someone broke into my house. I had five different false alarms where they called the police because they couldn't get a hold of me. Their techs came out on three separate times to reinstall the sensors and it doesn't seem like their techs know what they're doing. Also, the false alarm going off all the time made me more paranoid having the security system.
Guardian is also not great with customer service. The only time I ever got a hold of somebody is after being on hold for 35 minutes and every time I called, somebody says they're going to have to call me back. Then it takes three days before I get a callback because apparently that's standard for them. I recently moved and about three months ago, they came and uninstalled my security system but they couldn't reinstall it on the same day. Then one time, they didn't show up on their set appointment. Another time, they called an hour before my appointment and told me the tech couldn't come. My new house is literally half a mile away from my old house and it took a month and a half for them to come and reinstall the equipment. So I had no security and I paid for that month but no one ever reached out to me about getting a refund.
One of the biggest excuses why they couldn't get out to my house sooner was supposedly because they didn’t have a tech that's located close to my house. They said that the closest techs were two hours away, but the funny part is that there was somebody walking around in Littleton trying to get people to sign up with Guardian. I’m highly dissatisfied with them and the only reason why I would still have their system is because I'm bound to the contract I signed and I don't want to spend the money it takes to cancel, which is to pay for the equipment outright. It was a mistake to sign up with Guardian and I should have never went with them. If my contract is over, I won't be renewing. My experience has been really crappy and I would not recommend them.

Everything's been good with Guardian Protection Services and SFI was the company that has been coming out. They installed and then a week or so later they were supposed to come out to make sure the installation was done properly, went back over anything and took care of any questions I may have had. They've done a really good job. The installer was very knowledgeable, answered the questions, quick and very good at multitasking. Guardian is very good at coming out and taking care of everything. Our biggest concern was we go camping a lot and I didn't want to leave my house unprotected when we're gone or out of town. But now, I feel safer leaving my house. Also, I like being able to activate and deactivate the security system from my phone. I've told several people about Guardian and the $44 a month has shied them away. Guardian is not the cheapest around but overall, I'm very well satisfied.

I was not happy with the whole process of getting Guardian Protection Services. It was offered through the builder and when the technician came to do the installation, we found out a lot of things were left out. There are other options that we should've gotten to protect our home. I called and told them the issue but instead, got the run through of what would be suggested and how much it would. Now it's basically on me to decide on what options to get. I wish I knew beforehand because now we have to pay for them to come back and then to install the item.
The technicians were very knowledgeable. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have known about the other options that we could've got installed. While the smartphone feature is awesome, I wish the quality of the hardware items that are at home was more upgraded compared to other more advanced companies that we researched. Still, it is a good system, I feel more comfortable knowing that I can activate it wherever we are. We don't necessarily have to be home. I just wished that in terms of security, it would announce which doors were being opened at the time. There are things that I will like to upgrade, but I don't know if they have it or not.

The rep was actually great, and did her job. My mother put her on the phone with me and I gave her a hard time to start off with. We were building a house that had a fire. I got the alarm system put in and it really is good. And all the people that I've dealt with are really good. We had a test run when they were there. Then the other day I opened up the door and I thought why it was beeping and realized that it got turned off. One lady told me that I can look at the pictures and just upload the ones I wanted. And I found out yesterday that that's not the way it is. You have to upload everyone you look at. There's a couple of them that are actually on my phone but I was told yesterday any of the other ones had to be uploaded and you only have 40 uploads. I don't like the limit there.
The kids now come and go without having to call me every second because the system tells me when they've come in and that they've locked the thing back. Everything so far has been really good with Guardian. I've sent it to a few people too. Luke will be coming back in the next week or so bringing me some more stuff. One thing that I don't like about it is that when you turn it on, if you don't have things on your windows, it's on the screen telling you that there's nothing on the windows. But he gave me some to put on the window so it's not showing up 'cause he had no way of taking it off. And then I'm buying some more.

The sales rep of Guardian that went to our house was really nice. The features offered in our system were really good, too. We just had an issue with one of the sensors because when we opened the window, it broke off. So we're still trying to get it replaced. But my home's so much safer since having Guardian Protection Services and I found that they're very reliable and their products are really good. I'd definitely recommend them.

Guardian was working with the builder. I priced other competitors and got the better bang for my bucks with Guardian. The sales rep was very knowledgeable and friendly. He walked us through the whole process of choosing which security tier we wanted in our system. And then the installer came over that afternoon and I had to show him where the security system was in the basement. He went in there and was done within an hour and a half. He showed me the app, registered me for the website and got me squared away. I had an issue with our home networking and they were able to get in contact with me the next day. They set up an appointment to have somebody come and fix it.
Everything works great and I love using the app. My wife and I use it every day. The features are very straightforward and they make everything very easy and user-friendly. It's very convenient so I am very happy with that. Overall, I feel safe using the security system. I travel a bit and knowing that my wife is here at home by herself and have the security system puts me at ease. We also use it all the time when I and my wife leave the house.

My mother was with Brinks all those years and they grandfathered her in for the longest time and then over the last few years they raised her services that she thought it was time to change and went with Guardian Protection Services. When she passed away, I bought the house. I've only dealt with Guardian reps once and they were very helpful. They came out to the house and showed me how to use the system and updated everything. Since the installation was already there, the only thing they did was updated my board.
I've only had it for a month and I'm not at home all the time but I like their features very much. They function through the cell phone which is convenient for me since I don't have to have a landline. Every time somebody goes in and out, I get a text message telling me which code was used and who went in and out. So if anytime something goes, I know about it and I do like that a lot. They also have a feature where the system can be turned on and off by remote. Everything I have, I've liked so far. Their system tells me how to picture the space if I'm not there. So, I've had a great experience so far. They were very good and I've got more for my money than I got before.

Furthermore, their installation crew was terrific. However, about a week ago, I contacted them and said that I needed a couple of the cameras that we moved. I placed two emails to them and I have not heard back from either one yet.
Still, the quality of the equipment is fine. The keypad is easy to use. While the control box is rather large, we are fortunate that we could have it in an out-of-the-way space. One time, we forgot that we had the system and we opened our door. The alarm went off right away and we shut it off, but Guardian Protection still called in seconds. I would certainly recommend them.

We just bought a house and the previous owners had a contract with Guardian and we took it over. My husband talked to the customer service. They emailed him the contract for him to fill it out like sign it electronically and it was pretty easy. They installed four contact points and everything’s working properly. Then I had to call them about the Guardian app. It said that at 3:00 o’clock something in the morning that it was in duress. It had just went through from when they did the installation. The features of the system were good, it's just that we haven’t really gotten into it too much since we only had for a month.

A referral by somebody I trusted led me to sign up for Guardian Protection Services. The sales rep came by and we emailed since then but I got his technician's phone number so I can get an immediate response. The technicians who installed the system were phenomenal and wonderful. They did everything that they could and had to come back at least once so far. It's nice to have a sign-up and to have a camera that others don't know doesn't work.
Guardian offered us the ring thing and it sounded great at the time but here we are and only one of us can use it. I'm in the house and I can't use the camera. But my husband's in California and he can use it. It doesn't make sense. I feel like I got robbed pretty much and it's very disappointing. My camera doesn't work right and I've already called the technician back at least once for it. I'm tired of calling. I also wish that Guardian had it all in one instead of having to go to a different company to get stuff. It would have made things a lot easier because when I called Guardian about it, they said it's the ring.com's thing.
I also forgot to set up my thing online and I had to call Guardian back because I didn't realize that there's only a certain amount of time before I can sign up for my account. So it's a lot of phone calls and I miss being able to speak to a human being. Now I had a lot of time to be on hold talking to a computer who's not going to understand. I needed one simple thing that's going to make it three times the amount of time it requires. It's been a learning experience with Guardian so far. I need to do more research before I sign anything ever again. In this day and age, when it comes to the cameras, I'd tell others that they might want to look somewhere else. I'd tell them to look around first and ask their neighbors about what works and what does not work before deciding on Guardian.

The customer service rep of Guardian was nice and helpful. The technician who installed my product was also very good. He offered to clean up but it wasn’t a big deal. I just did it myself. The features of their system are good though there were days when I couldn’t get it to work. It still got a few little kinks that need to be worked out but hopefully, I can get that fixed. Overall experience has been good so far.

The young man who came in to install was very friendly, nice and professional. He explained to me what he was going to do and that’s what he did. And he did an excellent job. Then, the customer service reps called me to see how things were going and they have done really good as well. However, I was told that they'd send me a manual to explain all the little icons on the monitor and I got something in the mail from them but it's just another paper.
But all its features are good and I like the little keychain thing that you match. The system covers the windows and the doors too. So far, it’s been real good. I stay next door at night and when I came in one morning, I didn’t do something right and I had the alarm going off. Then somebody came on in the monitor right away and we got it straightened out. Everything was fine and I hadn’t had any other problems since then. I feel a lot safer now with Guardian and I ain’t got to worry about somebody sneaking in on me.

We're having problems after problems with the Guardian system. We have a constant tampering on one of the sensors. My sister waited for them to come out last week, but then the tech called at the last minute, around 9:00, saying that he was given another job at 10:00 that night, when he promised her that he would be there between 8:00 and 8:30. If they gave him another job, why did that push us out of the time slot that he already promised? That's just bad customer service. It made my sister feel that her service is not as valued as the next person's, saying somebody else's service is more important than hers.
My sister tried to explain to them that we were in a crunch because we were getting ready for a wedding, and were not really going to be available. They tried to get us to bypass that sensor, but when you bypass the sensor and set that alarm, it just would set it off. We're very dissatisfied with Guardian and I would recommend it to nobody.

Guardian itself is okay, but the person who goes out to talk about it should be more honest with the customers. We had some problems with the sales. Nothing that the salesperson said was true. He talked us into it and then it was a big mess. We didn't know we were moving over to another company. He told us he was with both of the companies and that it wouldn't affect my mother's credit. He also told us that there was no contract. They told us that they were just going to install some cameras. One of them even asked us, "You guys didn't receive an email saying you guys have free cameras?"
And now we just found out that it's a five-year contract. We were almost done with our previous contract. We had a few months left, and that's what really upset my mom. We're going through an economic situation and I asked him a few times if this was with a contract, and he said no. They also lied to us about the rate but we can't prove to them what they told us here so we have to stick to a high rate.

The installer of Guardian was good. He showed up on time, did the stuff and explained everything to us. My one complaint though was when they took off the little kind of covers for where stuff is going to get installed. But besides that, he was polite, valued our time and was very respectful, as well. And the features offered in my system are great, too. I love that we can use our phones and how the app makes accessibility that my husband kind of monitors things. It also gives you a lot more comfort. Where if you forget, you can always turn it on. I would definitely recommend it.

We have Guardian at a new home. It was part of the promotion selling process. We wanted to choose the home security but didn’t want to deal with the aggravation but Guardian is fine in comparison to ADT. The installer was awesome. He knows his job very well and answered all the questions. He also told us that if any other questions would come up then we could give him a call. Everything is great with the system and working out perfect. We just started with them and haven't had any issues.

I heard Guardian was pretty good around the local the area so I went with it. The system is working well so far. And the smartphone features are very useful too, as far as arming and disarming and opening the garage door. Customer service explained everything to me on the phone even before installation. And the technician helped me set everything up, showed me the features and how to use the security system. He was very professional, reliable and knew what he’s talking about. I’ll refer him to friends. And will tell my friends that Guardian Protection has a lot of different features and things you can add to your house for security, as well.

Guardian Protection Services is a bit more costly than the system we have at our primary home but Guardian does have the access via my phone with the WiFi services. It’s good that we can lock and unlock the system when we need to. I enjoy that app. Our system has been working very well and we may get the new feature to control the thermostat through the app as well. It’s great sense of security knowing that I can set the alarm and thankfully I haven’t had any activation issues or warnings.
We had salespeople responsible for both the alarm system and the wiring for our surround system under our second home. They were good and wasn’t overselling. The installation gentleman explained the system a lot. We called them back in to help us hook up the receiver for the alarm system and the same activation guy came in and helped us with that. Overall, their people are professional individuals and a pleasure to work with.

Guardian's adequate but probably the biggest disappointment that I have in terms of differences with my old service was they gave me the key fobs, but it didn’t have the capability to communicate with the garage door opener. Then, I was under the impression that Guardian could use the existing keypads that I had in the house especially with the new bill that I had, but their system didn’t work with the keypad at the front door. If I walk in through the front door, then I have to walk all the way around to the garage to turn off the alarm.
I was told by the sales rep that I could do those and I also could open and close the garage door from the remote system on my phone. I was also told that theirs would integrate with the system that I had, but that’s not the case. I had a conversation with the installer and the installer said that it's an add-on and I have to pay for that. But then he did a good job and was professional in installation. Guardian Protection Services was pretty good and the affordability was right there in line with everybody else. Using the smartphone's features was pretty seamless in terms of being able to arm and disarm the house quickly and easily. Overall, it has been pleasant and professional just over-promising and under delivering.

The salesman of Guardian was good. The guy showed up around 7:00, put the system in and I sat next to him talking to him. He was quick and was done by 8:30. I like the features offered in my system. I use the smartphone features every day to arm the system and before I go to bed every night, I make sure I lock all the doors. Also, if there’s a fire, the system will call the fireman and that’s good. However, one time, the fire alarm went off and it was really annoying. But I called the salesman and he came back out and checked it. It turned out that he had installed it improperly. But he took care of it. Guardian has good equipment and good staff and I definitely recommend them.

I called Guardian Protection yesterday about our alarm that kept going off all the time. I turn it off and after a little while it’d go back on. They got in touch with me over that microphone thing and I told their rep what happened but she wasn’t very polite. She said that I must have a door ajar but I told her that I just got up, turned the alarm off thinking it would be off and it went on and I hadn’t opened doors. They were supposed to send somebody out and so far they haven’t called me.
During the installation, it seemed they wanted to help and do everything for us but they didn’t change the panel box. It didn’t matter to me at first, but when my daughter came she said that it should've been changed. Other that that they put the camera in. I hadn’t talked to the Guardian reps anymore other than recently when the alarm went off. The other people used to come as soon as I called them when there was something going wrong with it. The technician said before to call him any time I needed to and he'd be here and I called him twice, the day before and yesterday, but heard nothing. The camera that we have is fine and that’s all we were interested in and of course the alarm. My husband uses their smartphone features but somehow I'm not getting it in mine.

The reps answered all the questions that I had and the technicians were professional. I use the app and tried to pay my bills but I can't do that on it. I have to do it another way. Other than that, the equipment seems to be high quality and I don't have any issues with it.

I used to have a home security system from Skyline Security Management which was Guardian. We were forced to take it and they had poor salesmanship when they came. They were an older guy and a younger one. They were related to some place but there was no paperwork. All of it came on the computer. I was told they were going to come and put the security in and right after lunch, he would be here. That isn’t the way to run a business.
During installation, the guy was good about putting it in there. But there was something fishy. When you get something new that comes in a box, you open up each piece but the guy had a little cardboard box and he had a couple of tools in there and the parts are all in there. Plus, he had spare parts. So, I thought, "What the heck is going on there?” The stuff that he put in here, he put it in the box and palmed it off. The monitor was in there and there were batteries in it. But the guy didn't even have batteries to put in there. He had no decent tools to do the thing as well. We have an older home and was plastered and he couldn't even get through. I find it indecent. So, that turned me off right away. I was in the construction business too and I know how that runs.
When they put the security in, I unplugged it right away because I didn't want it. And then, Guardian called and said they have to come and fix it. I told them they could take it out. I also called Skyline Security and I told them we didn't want it at all. You can't stuff that down to older people. You have to explain every little bit if you want to sell something. They kept calling and then I got a bill from Guardian. I didn't know what was going on. I got on the phone and I called Guardian and they said I didn't owe them anything.
I told them to come and get their stuff out because I took it all out and put it in the box and set it aside because I am getting yard signs. So they finally said OK and I told them what the whole deal was. They made an appointment that they were going to come and get it. That was a month ago. They were here at the time that they said they would be. Overall, the sales was rotten, the installation wasn't okay and it wasn't the best. I wouldn't recommend Guardian Protection Services to anybody.

Guardian Protection Services has been good so far. Their reps were good. I'm happy because they worked with me to set up the system. The installation team was good too. I had one system put on the back door and one in the front door. They got different features however, I got my bell on the front with green and red lights and they're in and out. I don't know what they did and I don't know what to do with them. I need to fix that or they need to show me how it works. Nevertheless, I will recommend Guardian. In fact, I've got a couple friends asking for the service that they have.

Guardian's salesperson was awesome. He was low on pressure so my interactions with him were relaxed. Also, the gentleman who came out for the installation was extremely knowledgeable. He went through what he was going to do fairly quickly. After he got things done, he was very thorough in explaining everything before he left and made sure I understood.
Now that I have my Guardian System, I have a higher sense of security. I have fewer worries at night when I turn my alarm system on. The sensors are working well and while I had a problem with one of my doorbell cameras, someone came out to replace them and now they're working fine. But I wish I could activate my system and bypass doors from my phone. I like to bypass one of my doors at night and I always have to go to the control panel to do that.

Guardian Protection Services showed up at our door and told us what a better system they had and it was up to date and the old Protection One system was out of date. They said they could upgrade it and give us a better deal and not hold us to a yearly contract. Our contract with Protection One was up in July so we decided that we would go with the month by month with Guardian. Their representatives were very clear and precise. But they were somewhat pushy in their sales pitch and when they came in, they just took apart the existing facility that was put in here by Protection One. The technicians were very good and the installation was very quick and precise. They added more windows than what we had before.
We’re pleased with Guardian but Protection One still calls us demanding an extra month rent because they said we didn’t give them 30 days. I don’t like the way that one company takes over for the other company without our knowledge on all the outcome and any problems that we would have with switching.

Everybody at Guardian Protection was good. I like the sales guy as he knew his stuff, and the same goes for the technician that came out. I like the features offered in the system I have the basic burg, the video doorbell, and the garage door control. My wife likes the doorbell. It's pretty neat and cool that we can answer our door away from home and talk to the person. However, I've had one malfunction. We're always home, so I don't really arm the system that often, but when I did over the weekend and we left, I got a call that the back door alarmed. They asked if I wanted the police to be sent, and I said, no, it couldn't be as I only left there an hour ago. It was 5 o' clock, sunny, and the neighbors were out. I just said, "Well, if it happens again I'll call Guardian." But it bothered me the whole night. As soon as I got home, I disarmed it, it went on and everything's fine. So far, I've armed it twice, left for a couple hours, and it hasn't come back.
Other than that, I like the idea how Guardian brought it all together in one app. Residential security is new to me and I know I'm new with the technology out there, but I also know that I'm capable of going down deep on getting my video doorbell and app. I also like the idea that the system's buttoned up when we leave. It was a pleasant experience with Guardian overall.

The Guardian reps approached us at our newly built house, told us a little bit about their product, and then asked for our phone numbers. It took a while for us to close on the house and then Guardian called us and asked if we were ready. I liked the way the salesman, Joe, came and told us about all the different security measures that we can have in our house. I also liked that I can get the cameras and I can see from my phone. We did a bit of research on other companies, but Guardian was the best one we found. I went with them because I liked the price. The installation went well and the guy that came here was very nice. He walked me through the process of how to arm, disarm and work the whole system. The features are very easy to use, which is really good.
Guardian was very quick and responsive when they were first trying to get us as buyers, but once we agreed and had the system in our home, it’s harder to get a hold of them. They forgot to put sensors on a window in my room and then something’s not working on the garage doors and we’ve been chasing them for about a month. I understand they have other customers and other things they have to do, but the time of them coming back to fix things is a bit lacking. They keep saying they'll come, but they haven’t been here to fix the problem. I call Joe if I have an issue, and there were a couple of times, and he's told me what to do. I have the apps on my phone, so throughout the day when I’m not home, I could monitor what’s going on outside of my house, in the front and backyard and by the doorbell.
If I’m not in the house and somebody rings the doorbell, I can go back and see who was there. However, I wasn’t told that the 30-day recording of the videos was going to expire. There's an extra charge if I want to add that on to my plan. Also, they said I had to charge the doorbell every three months, but I have had to charge it twice in the two months that I’ve been in the house. Maybe I didn’t charge it right the first time, but then I had to recharge it. Overall, I feel a lot better in the home because I have the alarm on when I leave. I’ve had a couple of problems with Guardian, but it’s a good service and we feel more secure.

We have Guardian Protection Services for our business. We had ADT before and Guardian is a lot easier to use and more user-friendly. Our general manager set them up and the installation was easy and quick. They came in, installed everything and told me how they work and how they are connected. I like it and we feel a lot more secure since it has been installed. The only thing is that they were not able to add any extra people on the device, as far as codes go. I didn't see that I'll be able to do that on the machine.

We’ve had Guardian Protection Services for two months now and we’re doing good with them. We’re unhappy with the other one we had. They kept calling at three in the morning at our son's house. They were calling to tell us that there was a low battery. I told them they weren't calling in our house and they said, "Oh yes, we were." I looked on my phone to see if there's a phone call in and there weren't any. So we dumped them. Guardian is 100% better than them. We’re very satisfied with this company and I’d recommend them.
Their salesmen and technicians were very polite, forthcoming, and informative. We talked to the salesperson and he went through all the things that they could do for us. The guy said, "We can do this, we can do that for you. If you ever have any problems, you call." He also gave us a packet so that we if had any problems, we could call the company. The techs who came and set the security system up were helpful, even with us old folks that don't know how to work a computer. Also, I love the features offered with the system. We can take off something and put it back on if we want to. My husband wants to add the feature where all nuisance calls can be blocked out. Everything is working well. One of us is usually up until it’s late so we know what's going on in the neighborhood.

I previously had a different home security system but I like Guardian Protection better since I have the app on the phone. I'd show it to a friend who would ask about Guardian Protection and he'd really like that. It's impressive in that sense. Also their customer service rep was excellent, so not like "You try the tutorial video" and all that. They handled my situation very professionally. Plus the installation was done very well and the installation team was in and out quickly. Guardian's security equipment is perfect and very easy to use. And I also feel better since the gentleman added sensors in the stained glass doors.

A guy from Guardian Protection Services came to our door once and told us everything would be free, we just have to put a sign in the yard. Their system is okay but I’m not very happy with the people who installed it or the people who said they would get back in touch with me about the missing items that were supposed to be installed. During the installation, the guy who worked told me that he could only put in one garage door in my garage, but it has two. Our agreement said that we would get two but they never put it in and they never called to tell me they can't come to put it in. Moreover, when he installed the thermostat, I don’t think he used the valve or screws or anything. So there’s a big hole on the wall. He also didn’t really ask me where I wanted the doorbell camera. So, now I have to go around, repaint and fix the holes where the old one was.
During the process where they activate everything, the guy installing the system was right in front of me, put his phone on speaker phone and only nodded "Yes" or "No" at me, and I didn't know what was going on. He also didn’t install the monitor where you turn it on and off to where I wanted it to be installed. Also, whenever you unlock the system, it's supposed to take a snapshot but where it is right now, you had to lean over and basically reach to turn it off or on. The feature is pretty much useless because you can’t see who does it anyway. I also wanted to have a one or two outdoor cameras but I never received those either. They also told me that I was getting the heat alarm, smoke alarm and the CO2 alarm but I only got the one for smoke which was installed right next to my other smoke detector. Now I’ve been trying to get a hold of people to cancel the system.

For the community that I purchased in, there was an agreement with Guardian where there was a discount on the monthly amount for the first 12 months, as well as for being an employee of NVR Incorporated. The installer came in and installed the equipment. He’s a very nice guy. He actually came back two days later and solved my issue with the TV mount. I love the features offered in my system. I love that I can open up my garage door, control the thermostat and lock my whole house pretty much with my phone on the app. It’s very convenient. It’s also nice knowing that when I leave the house every morning that it is going to be secured. If there is any break in, I’d be notified by Guardian. The neighborhood’s kind of off a beaten path, so I feel pretty safe in the neighborhood itself.

I recently moved into a townhome and I had a concierge of some sort. He told me all the capabilities that Guardian had with having the weather on there and the app where I could disarm/arm it. Also, for me, the big thing is the price. The technician was awesome, very friendly and helpful. He walked me and my fiancé through how it all worked through all the different features. He came out a couple of times because the first time, he had to come back with a box to install. He was perfect and it was a really good experience.
We live in the not the best part of Dallas and it gives us a sense of security when we go to bed. Like the other day, I didn't realize it was on and I opened the rooftop door, it went off really loud and someone came on the speaker within 20 seconds. They have a great customer service. The lady I was talking to through the speaker was very friendly about the whole thing. Also, I love the app. The other day, I was at work and my future sister-in-law who lives nearby has a key. I was able to disarm my system so she could go in the house and when she left, I armed it again. It's extremely easy and very straightforward. Another thing I like is the fake code. If someone has me at gunpoint, they walk in and I'd give them my danger code. Also, I walk down stairs and on my screen, it tells me the weather currently like if it's going to rain or if there's a severe thunderstorm. It works well and we like it. I've already told a friend about it.

The rep from Guardian walked us through the program and didn’t try to upsell anything. He was courteous and seemed knowledgeable, too. We made an appointment for the installation prior to moving in and they were there the day of the closing. The initial person who came in to do the installation had a lot of problems in getting the security system to work properly. He called in another group that was working relatively close by. There were different programs for different internet providers and after a while they had figured out that they had the wrong program installed. But once they figured that out, the rest of the installation went smoothly.
They were very polite and conscientious and were very careful in the brand new home. It took them quite awhile to do the installation, but it was no inconvenience to us. They did a great job doing it then and the system seems to be working fine. It's been a great experience all around with Guardian. I put the system on when I leave and set it off when I get to the house. It's easy to do it from the phone and it's a simple system to use for what we're using it for. There are also a lot of features that are available to me that I have looked at periodically, but a lot of information that’s easy to access and easy to understand.

Guardian is my first home security system and I have a good experience with them. It was offered to me on my home security visit and a good deal. Their representatives were excellent and the installer, who came out after I moved in, was great. The installation was explainable and easy. However, I thought that the windows were included in my package deal, but they were not. Other than that the system has been awesome and everything works perfectly. I use the smartphone feature the most and it is cool. Their equipment is high tech and it's easy to monitor and deal with it.

We've had a different home security provider before and Guardian is better. The features offered by them was what got me to change from the previous system. I've had a problem out here for a work order because apparently there's some issue with the connection but the customer reps handled that problem just fine. Guardian could have a couple of added options to control some of the light functions in the house instead of just the thermostat and the door locks. Also, it would be nice if we would be able to pan the surveillance cameras left to right, up to down while we're watching them. Nevertheless, I've only had it a couple of months and so far, the quality of their security equipment and the smartphone feature are good.

We were about to leave the house when somebody knocked on the door. And then once I opened it, it was the alarm people. My wife was talking about it and we wanted to shop around and see what the deal was. So, we let them in and the rep started talking to us and convinced us. We got the security system and the technician did a good job at installing it. When he was done, he told me how to use it and he went through everything. I have two existing cameras in there before and now I was thinking about using them and taking away some of the features that we have and using the cameras instead. Overall, the quality of the Guardian equipment is good and I feel protected. I'd tell my friends they should get it.

READ CONTRACT WELL. During the sales process, I was told that this contract will be for 24 months. It seems fair since most contract are for 2-3 years. When I tried to cancel 2 years later, I was told that my contract was for 60 months. Who in the right mind will sign a 60 month contract? And in order to cancel, I have to pay $2000 plus for the rest of the contract. I ask to see the contract, and a poorly written, illegible document was provided (In this day and age, a red flag should of went off, if a company continue to use a poorly written, illegible contract - maybe they purposely did that so consumer can't read anything).
I scan through contract and the only spot that indicates the contract is for 60 months is in small, badly written font. They strategically placed it next to the section where you put your initial, acknowledging some of the agreement of service. This experience just left a sour taste in my mouth. I have a small business, and customer satisfaction is fundamental for a business to succeed. Clearly, the only way for Guardian to succeed as a business is to have sales rep say misleading information to get people to sign on a 60 month contract.

The staff of Guardian Protection Services are professional, prompt, and informative. Bonnie, their salesperson, was amazing. She made sure that she communicated everything that the system would do for us. She also helped us to identify where we should have things, including the speaker systems, placed strategically throughout the house. Compared to our last installation which was in a smaller place, this one made it a bit more difficult for us because we didn’t know where to put everything. Bonnie gave us the information and was willing to share.
I have the basic service for the alarm system and I do like it. When I first moved in, I did not know how to set the panic feature at all and we’ve set it off a couple of times. It didn’t take long for someone to reach out to us. 30 or 60 seconds after the alarm went off, we heard somebody come over the intercom and they always ensured that they asked for a code. They're also always pleasant and asking if we need any assistance. It's always been a positive interaction when we had to talk to them.
With Guardian’s smartphone features, it's great that I can see that my house is either armed or not armed. It's awesome that I can arm from away. I also like that it tells me if we left the garage door open. It gives me a sense of security in knowing what's going on in my house when we're not here. Having a security system makes us feel comfortable knowing that our home is taken care of because we have had someone break into our previous home. It's better for us to know that there is someone keeping an eye on stuff when we're not here and even when we are.

Guardian was already installed in the house that we were purchasing, so it was easy enough to set up and keep going with the account. I called the customer service center and they were able to assist and add the services I requested to my account. The rep was courteous, very efficient and handled the situation very well. The installers arrived earlier than the time frame I was given. They installed everything and spent time showing us how to use them. So far, everything seems easy to use. It makes me feel safer and more secure. I'm happy to know that I've got somebody monitoring the house when I'm not home. Also, I have the app installed in my phone and it's easy to use and very convenient. Guardian Protection is a professional company that's worth the time and investment.

I moved here 10 years ago and there was 5,000 occupancy then. Now we're at 30,000. The town is growing and I'll need a security system eventually. The rep from Guardian was very good and very helpful. She came over and walked me through the process. She told me what to expect and it was pretty cool. I was able to call her back with a question when they came to set it up and she was very responsive to it. She was very polite and very personable. The installer was a few minutes late, but when I called him, he was very responsive on the phone and apologized because he was at another house. He was very polite when he came in and gave a great explanation of everything.
However, I was only able to use the system for a month because I got company and they set the alarm off a couple of times. So, I've been skeptical about turning it on. Also, I probably should have requested or checked into a motion detector for the house, but I didn’t ask about it because I didn’t have it before and I didn’t think about it until it was mentioned to me once the family came to visit. Nevertheless, I had a great experience with Guardian. I'm happy with them and I would recommend them to a friend.

When I moved in the house, there was an old system I knew nothing about so I upgraded to Guardian Protection Services. The guy who talked to me about the system and the guy who installed it were very nice. They have very good customer service as far as showing me how to work it. They helped me download the app and walked me through and now I know how to use it. We travel and it’s definitely a blessing to me to not worry about anything when I leave. But I'm upset with them because they were supposed to come back to hook my cameras and they haven't called. They said I didn't have enough WiFi for the cameras to work so I got the highest internet I could get. And then the next day, he said he was going to come back out but I haven't heard from anybody.

The installers were also helpful but when I first got the system, I wasn't satisfied with it. I didn't have enough cameras. The customer service reps took care of me and they actually called me back and worked with me. So far, the quality of the system has been good.

I am a new customer of Guardian Protection Services. I've been with them since May 1. I’m in a gated community so I didn’t have security until this point. I have somebody who checks my place all the time but with the things that are going on today in the world, I felt it was time to do it. The sales rep Sam was fantastic, professional and very genuine guy and the installation team were very helpful and accommodating the questions that I have. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with.
I love the doorbell camera but unfortunately the inside camera are not too sensitive to the outside lighting. I have it in a window to oversee my garage and my parking space. I didn’t want the outdoor camera because I didn’t want to draw much attention. Its fine during the day and you could see it very clearly but at night you can't see anything because it’s distorted by the street lights.
Still Guardian Protection Services is a great system. You can remotely access everything. View your property and even answer your doorbell as if you were there. The price factor is definitely something I would point out to a friend who was thinking about getting it because in today’s society, while you may need some security, it’s easy to go to Best Buy or someplace to get a video doorbell and be able to save dollars. As good as their product may be I think it’s a little pricey compared with the competition and you’re locked into contracts which are a little unattractive.

We've been with Guardian Protection Services for almost two months now and it was provided through our builder. We went and met on a Saturday and went through everything for the whole home entertainment as well as the security system. Our rep was Mike and he was very knowledgeable and helped us through the whole process. The technician was great too. He was very kind and stayed over the amount of time allotted to help me with some other things. But there were a couple of hiccups because they ordered the wrong parts. They ordered a wrong camera for the front so a new one was ordered. Then one of the wires that they had wired to the back of the camera wasn't working so they had to rewire it. But everything was made right by having someone come out and patch the hole in the wall where they rewired everything. It took three weeks to get it all done.
Their customer service was good and did everything they could to make sure we were satisfied. We had called them to set up different install times and at one point, about an hour after we left when we went for a vacation the first time, all the cameras went down because the power went down in our area. Our modem had to be reset from the inside so we had to call them and try and troubleshoot it. Overall, we're happy with the features of our system and everything has been great. Guardian is easy to work with and they corrected all the issues throughout the process. We'd definitely suggest them to friends.

The person who sold us our Guardian Protection Services system was very good, and the guy who came in and did the activation was nice and professional. He worked on the pad, checked all the doors, made sure the sensors were working, programmed the system, and then told me how to use it. He knew what he was doing.
However, I thought I was getting the sensors on all the windows but I didn't so that was the only disappointment. Apparently, it was a misunderstanding. The guy said that his work order was only for the doors and one motion sensor. But as far as how the system works and the features that are included, I'm happy with it. I can go on my smartphone and control the system which is good. It's very useful and I like it. I don’t have to run over to the pad on the wall every time I want to do something. I've only been using the system for a couple of days, but it's perfectly fine. I'd recommend Guardian Protection Services. It gives me peace of mind knowing that the alarm’s there especially that there's not a lot of people around yet. It's reassuring.

I'm 100% not happy with the sales rep and he sucks. The reason I switched was that he was going to give me three months free. I had to pay $750 to get out of my old contract with ADT and he told me he’d be able to refund me three months of it to help me out a little. However, I'm still paying Guardian every month. I called Guardian and the guy I talked to said there’s nothing in the record or on the file that says anything about getting three months free.
I told him I’d go back to the sales rep but I've been busy and I haven't had time to get in contact with him. I have to track the sales rep and his phone number down to try and find him. He gave me a business card, but I have no idea where it went. Another thing is that there were some aspects with ADT that I liked better. Also, the installers installed the surround speakers but they never showed my wife on how to hook it up to the TV, so we still don’t know how to use them. Other than that, everything went well with the installation. I've been with Guardian for two months and I'm still learning their system. The features of their system seem all right.

Before, when we were living on the farm, we never locked our doors then we moved to a lake home then to just outside the town, in Saint Cloud, and I felt a little nervous that we thought of getting a security system. A salesman from Guardian Protection Services came and he met my husband and explained things. Then I asked more questions, so the salesman came back and explained everything I needed to know then we signed up with them. Their offer was good and was worth it.
The installation was great too. The technician was a wonderful and very, very knowledgeable, nice young man and he explained everything to us. I would have no problem as well having him come back and do something else. Then Guardian does a monthly check and there was a time when they called and said that the system wasn’t reading right when they did their testing. My husband called back and asked to make an appointment. The guy said he would call back but he never did that, so we were wondering what was going on. But it got rectified.
Since having the system, I feel a lot better, very safe and comfortable. The peace of mind is worth what we're paying, which is not a lot. We also had no problems with the features of the system and I like the key fob, where I don’t have to set the panels. I can just push on and off. I'm happy with the system and I'm very satisfied with Guardian. If somebody is looking for a security system, I would definitely recommend them.

Guardian Protection Services sounded like a good deal for a couple of years, how much it's going to grow. I like to feel secure, too. I can set the system from far away. It's convenient. Their doorbell with a camera feature sold us on their system. We did not have that in our previous security system. However, there was just something at one point during the installation that we felt they could have shared a little bit more information in terms of the time and the fee that are needed if we want a certain camera capability. The technicians have to reschedule a couple of times because they didn't have an order to install the camera portion of the system during their first visit. They could have shared a little bit more before we signed the contract and we would have been able to plan for it.

I switched to Guardian because of the price. The people from Guardian that came selling the product were from Arizona and they seem to have all the information. They knew my name, how much I had left on my contract with the other company, and how much I owed. And when they're selling, everybody was nice but when you're after them, you can't get a hold of them. They'll show you the product and they leave and they don't keep in touch with you. As far as turning the system on and off when I leave or at night, it was fine because I haven't had a call. But with the other company, they would at least call me when the power went off because the battery went weak or something. But Guardian doesn't even bother to do that. The last time they came in here was when they told me that the 3G won't work anymore in a few months. So, they had to just do some work on the system itself and that was it.

Guardian installed a system in my home on May 30. The issues began with a panel that made no noise. I called and scheduled a service appointment with them for the next Thursday. Someone calls on Monday and informs me the ticket has been put into the wrong queue. Offers to reschedule and call me back but never did. I finally had to call back to get an appointment. Someone came out and fixed it and I thought everything was solved.
Except the glass break sensor goes off once-twice a week. I'm not sure what's setting it off and neither are they. I tried scheduling a service call. Took off of work. No one showed. I called and it seems they rescheduled the appointment without notifying me to a date two weeks away. Guardian does not value your time. They do not value you as a customer. The reps are nice enough, but completely useless. I regret using this company and I sincerely hope anyone who wants to use them reads this and rethinks it so they don't end up trapped in endless phone tag like I am.

I had an online security company for my business before the Guardian sales guy called me. He kept calling so I told him to go ahead because I liked the camera. By Monday, the guy showed up to install it. There wasn't a lot of stuff to do for the installer because the system I was using with Monitronics was already there. All the guy did was switch out the card then add the camera. However, after we had everything setup, the camera died the following week and everybody waited for me to fix it.
I'm a consultant and I'm out of town all the time. I have other people running my business, but I monitor it through my phone. The second week that the camera was installed, I tried to look through my phone and it said the camera needed to be charged. But I thought since it was new, I shouldn't have to charge it after a week. So I got a ladder, I climbed up there, I took it down, and I noticed that it was a used camera. Also, they didn't leave any charger for me to charge it with. I had to call the technician that came in to install it and he kept pretty much telling me he was sorry and that he was going to bring it. It didn't run for four weeks.
I was out of town when this happened and when I called customer service, they only told me to call another line and they would be the ones to figure it out. I told them that needed the camera here and that it was part of the system that was supposed to be installed. The technician finally got the charger to my wife last week and even mentioned that it was brand new. I finally got the camera charged on Saturday. Now, we have the system back on, running. Other than that, everything is good and it works. But people who are looking into Guardian should know they should make sure that the camera is installed when they're around, that it is shown to them, and to make sure it's a brand new system and that there's also a charger.

Before I used the home security system of Guardian Protection Services, somebody stole stuff off my porch. I figured if they did that, then they might try to break in. Everything was fine with the Guardian reps. I had a circling on the 21st on my account document and I called them to find out if that was when my bill was due because I had not yet received a bill for the service. The customer service representative confirmed that was so and said that I'd have until the 28th of next month to pay my bill. She cleared up that matter, although I had never heard of a billing like that, but she did what she was supposed to do and I was satisfied.
The lady technician came down to install my Guardian system. She arrived a little early because she said that she had gotten through what she had to do a lot quicker. She was professional, nice, sweet, kind, and wrote real small. She introduced herself, went through all the paperwork, and told me what she was going to do. She told me I can have the pads at the door or at my phone. My phone is in my kitchen, so she installed them there. Then she installed the sensors around all the three doors, and she put in the monitor. Then we went over the paperwork and she explained everything to me. When I looked at the circling on the 21st, I realized that I had a bill coming up that I would need to pay.
I like the overall quality of the Guardian security equipment and the features offered in the system. I'm still taking a little while trying to get a hold of everything, but everybody at Guardian answered everything perfectly. I had to call in one day to find out how long the alarm takes because my pads are in the kitchen, and when I go out the door into another room, I have to run through the door and close it before something happens. The guy told me that I had about a minute, but the distance is not that far and it wouldn't take 10 seconds to traverse it if I hurried. But I'm wondering if I should have the door closed or opened when I set the alarm because the system says, "Front door open" then when I get out there and close it, I don't know what the system would do. If I had the door closed and I set the alarm, and I go to open the door, then I'm probably going to set the alarm off.
The only problem that I have is the right side of the house with my bedroom, another bedroom, and a bathroom. There are no doors there, but there are a couple of windows that are real close to the ground and I haven't got any way to fix that, unless somebody walks into the kitchen and gets caught on the monitor. But the good thing about the system is the way they set it up. If intruders enter the right side of the house and get anything valuable, then they either have to come through the front door or the kitchen, and that's where they'd be caught.
The installer said that, for a little more money, they could put up more monitors in different places. I wish I could afford to have sensors on all of the windows, but I can't right now. Other things come up and stretch me too thin. After what has happened, I now worry if there's anything outside, and I would also like to have a security alarm for my backyard and see if I could make a better way to put a sensor on my gate that would alert me whenever it's opened because it's real dark on one side of my house and there isn't any light there whatsoever. I've got a gate that I can lock, but in case we didn't lock it and we'd be in here sleeping, if somebody gets into my building, then I've got my double gate and the intruder would have to come out through that gate.
My security system is topnotch and its functionality and performance have been fine. So far, the system has done what it's supposed to do. Furthermore, the sign outside or the stickers on the doors probably deter somebody from coming in. Since having the Guardian security system in my home, I feel a lot safer than I did before about anybody entering the home and I now feel confident in leaving the home. I'd tell a friend that it's a good idea to have Guardian. You never know when somebody's going to break in. In addition, I have a lot of health problems and I've got a medical alert device on a necklace, and in case I have a heart attack or some emergency, I can do a quick call to the police, fire station, and ambulance service.

When I bought my first house, the builder was tied up with Guardian, which did all the wiring for cable, internet, phone, and security system, so I went with Guardian. Then when I built my second house, the same builder had Guardian do the wiring as well. Guardian is pretty decent and I was happy with their service the first time, and I went with them again. The customer service representative that helped me was great.
The security service was pretty seamless except when the technician came to activate it. The tech realized that several sensors had not been installed and he said that they should've been wired in but they were not, so he had to install wireless sensors instead. He talked with the office and he realized that maybe whoever did the wiring forgot about wiring in the sensors. But he didn't hesitate at all. He said, "I'm going to install three wireless sensors and that's at no cost to you, so don't worry about it." Guardian didn't charge me anything for that but it was a little scary to know that the job was not done complete initially.
I was hoping that the installation would be done in an hour, but it took about three hours because the installer had to talk with several people and have installation of the sensors approved. Then he had to install the sensors and program these in the system. The installer did a good job, but he didn't realize that the work would take much longer than anticipated. Nevertheless, the overall expertise and professionalism of the installation technician was very good.
The features offered in my new system are good. We've only had it for a month. I went from a wired to a wireless system, and I like that. That's definitely a jump for me, so I'm still getting used to it. Compared to my old system, I can now monitor from anywhere with my new system. I don't have to worry if I had armed the house or not, since I can look this up on the phone, and that's a big help. Moreover, my kids are at home at times and when I arm the house, I know they're in there and they're not opening the door or basement, and that's good. Guardian's system works fine and its smartphone features are excellent. But after the installation is done, if something goes wrong, and that's what I always worry about, then Guardian charges a pretty hefty fee and I don't like that at all.
I was not happy with my old system because for the last six years, I kept getting an automated message saying, "Your system has failed sending test signal" and that was very bothering. I talked with Guardian several times about this, but nobody cared to fix it and it was always left open that way, and I did not hear anything from them about it. Then the old system fried one time when there was a surge. But in cases like that, Guardian puts everything on the customer and says, "It's your fault. You should've installed a surge protector." Actually, it's not our fault because we're paying for the system. But I got a bill of about $400, which I was pretty upset about.
With my old system, I had a keypad that went bad. It was not compliant with the software change. Then a guy had to come and replace that. In that case, I don't understand why they should charge for that. Likewise, that's their system and I'm paying monthly, and they should take care of that. Then now, the new system does not come with the backup battery, and I was told that I would pay for it if I want it. I feel secure in having Guardian in my home, but the issue is the cost.
I'm stuck with Guardian because the builder chose to go with them. Other security systems can pretty much give the same level service, as long as you're close to cities. Their competition in the area, ADT, charges $30, while XFINITY, which has started service here, charges $34. But for the same service I'm paying $50 to Guardian, and that's something that I need to consider. There's a contract in place, but when my contract is over, I'll be shopping around. They partner with the builder to lock customers in but that's not a good deal. The service should be much more economical. They have a good security system but it's pricey. But I can afford it compared to the other ones.

We used to have ADT at our last place but we didn't like their customer service. The house we bought already had Guardian stuff in it so it made it easier to switch and the interactions with their customer service were very good. They worked with me on getting the right stuff for the house and they handled it well. Their installers came out and then upgrade the system. The technician was very nice but lacked a little bit in his knowledge because he had to end up coming back out a second time since he messed up the first time.
On the other hand, we liked the features offered in their system. We were hoping to get the doorbell camera, but the only doorbell camera they offer is a big, bulky one and it wouldn’t fit on our doorframe. There’s no slim option. So, we did not get what we wanted and didn't get it all right now and that was a little disappointing. Other than that, the equipment is doing good. The smartphone features are very nice. We feel more secure having a security system rather than having no security at all. OveralI, it’s going well.

I researched and Guardian was right up our alley. And I looked around and a majority of the new neighborhood have Guardian. It started when the guy came out and went over everything that I needed. The only complaint I have is the doorknob camera that we installed. It keeps going in and out and I'm having a harder time getting someone to come out to look at or fix it. When I called about it, not to complain but to look at a compensation because I was paying for something that is not working, their rep said there was nothing they could do. But everything is working great except for the camera. I just wish we could get it fixed and they’re going to push it off until the 26th for someone to come out.
Other than that, the installation process of the system was great. The technician pointed out things that I needed for the place that I didn’t think of and I didn’t mind doing the upgrade. He also took the time to show me how to do things. The quality of the security equipment is outstanding. I love the smartphone features. This is my first time having a home security and I'm very secure with it. The other feature I wish that I've been told was adding a camera to my patio. One of my neighbors have gotten Guardian and I showed him some of the features that I have and that they didn’t have and showed them how it was great. Now, they called Guardian about getting these services too.

We were in the process of moving in and a Guardian representative happened to come door to door so we listened to their spiel. Their very professional technicians came in and installed the system, told us where everything's gonna be and asked us where we wanted it. The security equipment's done well and has good quality. There's a lot of construction going on so it's nice to have the system. It works fine so far but we sometimes get a notification saying the video is full. We also had to call the customer service a couple of times because we didn't get the alarm oftentimes, but they're fine handling our situation every time we had any. All in all, it was a very professional and satisfying experience. Guardian has worked well for us and if others are interested, then they should give it a chance.

Guardian Protection Services was doing a promotional thing and they selected my house. I had enough time to talk to their reps. We liked the package and my wife had been bugging me about some alarm security services so we gave the reps a chance. They were good people and they worked with us. I don’t like talking to salespersons but I was in a good mood that day and he was in a good mood and we just jelled. They were very professional and courteous. I felt good about it. The installation team was cool too.
Everything is working out right and the doors and the sensors are working. The tech had programmed some pictures on there but they’re not showing anymore. I armed it and when I disarmed it, that’s when the pictures stopped working. But, as soon as I read the directions I can figure it out because it’s self-explanatory. My wife and I like their services. They were doing the right thing. They're not trying to press anybody and they talked them through it and told them the pros and cons of it. So, I would recommend them.

My daughter-in-law was frying something in the skillet and the smoke set the alarm off. Guardian called me first but they were also getting the police ready and started to call the fire department. I told them I didn't need it because she just set it off with smoke. And they set, called and canceled it. It's real nice. Also, if anybody comes to my front door, I'm going to know it. So, I'm going to have a chance to get my gun or ball bats. It's a good protection and I would recommend it.

I had a home security in my previous house and when I moved, I got a new service. Utility Concierge called me and helped me set it up. The sales rep and I talked about the service, price, then the installation. I told him I wasn't gonna have a landline and I didn't know if it was gonna work. The rep told me it can be wireless. So, I went ahead with it. The technician who installed was very nice. He explained everything, helped me get it set up with the passwords and showed me how the system worked. We also got the app set up on my phone and it worked out fine. I haven't done much with it though because usually we'll set it when we leave. But I like the fact that it's wireless and it's very similar to what I had in my previous home. So, I was familiar with the options.
It’s just myself and my daughter at home and even though we're in a gated community, there's still always issues. But I feel secure knowing I have Guardian Protection Services to my new home, especially at night. What it is monthly for the service is reasonable and the installation was pretty painless. So, I would recommend them.

We used to have ADT then guys from Guardian came by the house, said that they'd put in the camera on the exterior and on the doorbell button. They were only $10 more than ADT. And so, I got cameras and my wife was interested in that. So we told them to go with it. But installation didn't work out well. We've had them for three months and there'd been a number of nightmares, but not with the service. As far as monitoring the system, that's okay. But the problem is with the tech and the people from AMP coming out to the house.
The guy who first came out was rude. They went into the living room and just sat there and waited because they knew that something's gonna happen if it kept being ugly. I ignored him a couple of times and he just continued to be rude. I asked him a question about the old boxes. He got rude again and told me I can’t use them. And so I explained that I’m the customer and I’m the one that is to be made happy, not happy. If he doesn’t clean up his attitude, then he better get out of my house. And so, he got nice and said sorry.
But when he left, he didn't put in one of the doors and the doorbell and camera outside weren't working and just kept glitching. I called and wanted to get this right at once. They gave me a date, but I told them it's not gonna work. I told them to come back out in here and get their stuff and I'll go back to ADT, because they have cameras too. Finally they said they’d send a senior technician, and not the guy that came as I’ve requested.
nother guy came but he kept turning the camera. He seemed to be getting a little frustrated with installation so I told him what we wanted to be covered: the two beetles that are antique, which one of them got a $7,200 paint on it, and in the front window where the boys bedrooms are. So he messed with it until he got it done. But he still acts like he was a little bit aggravated. Once again, I ignored it. And before he got ready to leave, he told me he’s knocked down my old dart board in the garage and chipped the wood out where the attachments go to hang it back up. Then when he left, he still didn't put the other door on there. I called the tech office again and they said they’ll send somebody else out. Nobody ever come back out and they never called to reschedule it.
And then they got the bill messed up. Somebody from their office called just a week ago saying I owe them $369. I told her it cannot be. She said she’ll call me back but she didn’t. Turns out they’re using the wrong account number and took the check number instead. Throughout this whole process, it seems that everybody I get a hold of is a mental midget. And they can't figure out what in the hell they're supposed to be doing. My wife still lacks the cameras and she really is upset about this all this time. And I don't want to go through getting somebody else in there. So I told him to run the check again without the check number, talk to his boos and find out what he wants to do. Then he told me he’ll just give me one month for free. That was nice but I'm not happy with the whole process. It infuriates me. I would tell people not to use them.

We transitioned from the previous owner to Guardian and the sales guy kinda blew us off. We said to forget it. Most of the sales work was done through a dealer. The customer service rep did enough to get the business and the installer was a good dude. Also, the system does what it needs to do so I'm happy with it. I recommend Guardian. If friends are looking for a system, I'd tell them that Guardian is better than an ADT or one of those guys ‘cause those cost a fortune.

We had Advantage as our previous home security service and now we have Guardian. They offered more than what we had with Advantage. The sales reps from Guardian stopped by here and they were nice. They were good in presenting information about Guardian. The technician was very good, too. It took him a while to install the alarm but he got it. We've been with Guardian just a couple of months and so far, so good. The sense of security is the same for us except for the smoke detectors since it's new. Guardian is a good company.

I've been having issues with people overriding my security and getting into my home and I talked to Guardian about it. I have the same issues with them as I did with ADT. I've asked Guardian to have somebody come out here and check my system out and I've got a message on my phone that my equipment had quit working, but nobody has called nor checked on me.
I have a back door and a front door. And I have the app from my phone to say that I can keep up with what's on my phone and it never could. The fellow that installed it took him long to download. So, he left and he said if I had any problems, to call him. I could not get into the app once it downloaded and so I called Guardian and they kept saying that they were going to email me information on how to get into my app. But I never received any.
Finally, somebody called me one day. I said I've been trying to call and I have not received anything. They told me before that if I would add my phone onto it that they would guarantee that I could keep up with my home through my phone. That way, I could check my home. And since I could not do any services or anything with my phone, I told them that I did not want to continue it because they would not come out. They didn't even give me paperwork to show me. I can get in my app and I can check that out. But when it's not working correctly, I don't have anything to troubleshoot with. But they told me that I had a two or a four-year contract with them. I said, "No, that's not what I told you. You promised me something that I'm not getting. Therefore, that's false advertisement to start with. I told you right up front that I can't afford it."
And as of today, I have not yet talked to anybody that I know of from them except for that one time when they told me that I’ve got a four-year contract. I gave them my bank information for the first payment so that they would install the equipment. I told them, "Do not take more money out of my account because it's a one-time thing only and I'll send my payment by money-order." I told them that if they took money out of my account, I was going to sue them. It's now due again but I haven't received anything from my bank. And I got a one-page contract on my phone but I did not sign it.
However, the installation was wonderful. The technicians were younger guys. They were very nice and polite and knew what they were doing. The main one had been with them long and he was teaching somebody new. He was very kind. He had another appointment, which I told him I understood. And then he told me, "If you have any trouble, call me." They were fine. But they need to stay until it's complete.
The only reason I got Guardian was for the app and it's not been usable because it's been blocked and they said, if I was having trouble with my phone, that wasn't their problem. My phone is working fine, except their app. I'm very disappointed in it. But the equipment is very pretty. It's decorating the wall and it's very easy to work. But it doesn't go with the rest of them. It's just hanging on the wall doing nothing.
Also, it's a little bit of expensive. And people like me, I'm 61 years old and I live alone. I was robbed four years ago so, I'm a little skittish about being by myself. And Guardian promised me this and promised that to get my money and then they left me hanging. So, therefore, I would not recommend it. Now I feel worse because they're not doing anything. And I feel more insecure because I know that whoever had done that with our ADT, they're still very active because that would be interfering in my stuff now.

I had a terrible experience with Guardian. The guy who was selling the security system lied about it. And then, the guy who put it in, though he was very nice, made a big dent in my new washer. I called three times about it but they were telling me to send the email. So, when my husband's therapist came over, she sent the email but we didn't hear anything from them. Then she sent a second one but they said they didn't receive it. And that was the end of it. My husband's still in the hospital now so I haven't had a chance to get in touch with them about getting this washer fixed.
Also, the first guy told me that there would be a camera at the front door and another at the back door. But there is no camera at the back door. I thought I would see if someone walks up to my door and I’ll know that they're in my backyard. They lied in order to get you to buy it. And as far as the system, it's been okay but it could be better. When I try to put the system in my phone sometimes it gets there really fast and sometimes it won't.

Guardian Protection Services came to our house and my boyfriend said they were rated number two right underneath ADT so I was interested in it and they offered more services than the current one I have. The sales people were super friendly and explained everything from top to bottom except for one thing which I have to figure out how to do but it was a good experience with them. Then the technicians came in and they were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had everything hooked up within an hour.
I didn't know I had an internet issue and customer service called and told me that I did. So I have the internet guy out here to fix it. I now have a little more peace of mind because if there's an issue, I can simply call Guardian and then they tell me what the issue is so I can correct them. I've had a home system for the last 15 to 17 years and I like Guardian the best out of them all. I would recommend them to a friend.

Guardian has a deal with our builder, Ryan Homes, and it’s been pretty good for the most part. We had little hiccups but they weren’t all that big of a deal. Before the house was finished being built, I wanted to have a whole lot of home automation and I needed to know what kind of components to buy and what protocols are being used for home automation and the sales team couldn’t answer in any way. They couldn’t get anybody on the phone that could answer any of my technical questions. I had to wait till I got the alarm but it’s fine. I just figured it out myself and then went out, got my stuff and had it installed.
They're at par with a few systems we've had before but I've had better service. We worked with the salesperson to mark out where we wanted everything installed which was nice. By the time we came in for the final walk through, it was installed right where we had marked everything. But I didn’t have a working alarm for two months after we moved in. A couple of components didn’t work and the engineer was supposed to come back in a couple of days and fix it. Two months went by and I heard nothing. It took me calling and complaining to get it fixed. The technician who came out after we settled to configure the account was also the same guy who came back to fix the broken component. He was great and really knows his stuff.
However, I had refused to pay the balance that I owed Guardian until I had a working alarm. They kept sending me late notices and billing me late fees when I flat out told them that I’m not paying it until they come out and get the alarm working. So now I have to call back their customer service and ask them to remove these fees and give them their money. The system works as designed so it’s not all that bad.
The mobile app is great but I’ve experienced one issue with it. I am very familiar with alarm.com and how they sell their service to alarm companies and Guardian froze their name on the app but I really like alarm.com. We use the app everyday, eight times a day. We can use fingerprints to log in to our phones and then fingerprint to log in to the alarm.com Guardian version of that app. So that’s awesome. The security is good and we all use it. We don’t use keys. We just use our phones to get in and out and if we don’t have that, we have to key code it to the keypad on the front door.
I used to work for the NYPD and we have plenty of guns in this house. I’m not worried about security but I wanted it for when we’re not home, so it’s a nice system. It definitely gives us more peace of mind and the functionality of being able to go in my front door without giving my children keys is important. I like that a lot but the home automation stuff is what I enjoy the most. It’s really nice to be able to also open and shut the garage.

Guardian Protection Service was the company that was addressed to me through my realtor and that set us up through them. I had other services before but Guardian has been great. The installers were professional and the system is state-of-the-art. I like the different features that the system has for the phone where we can activate and deactivate. Everything else is good and I’m a happy customer. With the system installed, there is a sense of security when you’re not at home, that your house is at least protected. So far, my experience has been good.

I like the features offered in the system of Guardian, especially the smoke detector. Now, I don't worry when I'm out of my home. The installers were also courteous and professional. They called before installation and asked what time they can put the system in. Then the installer came and told me what to do and how long it would take. And he was real good.

I called Guardian Protection Services and I got appraised. The customer service reps were fine as far as explaining everything. At first, they told me $45 a month then they kept me at $30 on monitoring. It was a five-year contract versus three years. I had ADT in Missouri and they were more expensive than Guardian in Delaware, where I am now. And I also had the NorthStar Alarm system previously. It has a touchpad and has the weather on it. But my brother already had Guardian in the house and he had all the equipment which is why I chose them.
When the installers came to hook it up, there was already a system here and supposedly they checked all of that. The alarm went off in the middle of the night so I got a citation. If that goes off one more time, I get charged for noise and I didn’t like that. It went off because the contacts on the door were bad. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks and they came out and replaced it. But the technicians were professional. People make mistakes and things happen. The smartphone features are a little bit of a nuisance though. Let’s say somebody broke in where I had to shut it off in a hurry. It takes a while to connect for some reason. But overall, everything’s good. I’ve been in the house for a year without the alarm system hooked up and I wasn’t afraid at all. We had another system in place before we switched over to Guardian. We also had the same sales rep for both systems. The sales rep said we only had a three-year contract with the other service. Then we said that we'll switch because we liked the service person of Guardian. Then the other company said that we have a five-year service with them. Nowhere in our contract said it was like that and it was a roundabout. The sales guy said he'd take care of it and I never knew what's going on with it yet. Guardian had to upgrade some of our system because it was not compatible with theirs and the technician that came was very nice. I also like the thing on my phone so I can unlock the door before I come in the house. It's nice as I won't have to do it from the wall unit because our fobs had broken from the other system and it was kind of a hassle. Everything's working fine and I'd recommend Guardian to a friend.

Guardian put system in with the builder so we didn't go into detail on how it works. But because this is a brand new house, I wish they could have given us a little bit more of a tutorial on how to use the system. We had to go away a couple of weeks ago and we had to leave 5 o’clock in the morning. When we went to put the alarm on, it went off. It became a whole big to-do because everything was time sensitive and we had to leave the house without it being on.

The sales representative that I spoke to was very friendly. Then the installers came out and we did the whole process then they hooked it up. Everything was in the wall by the time we moved in our brand-new home. Guardian has been very good so far. I had an incident where somebody came to my door and my daughter forgot the alarm was on. She opened the door, and they called me before she even disarmed it to let me know. That was pretty quick and I like that. I’d recommend them.

Update - after posting this review, customer service contacted me and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I still maintain to anyone interested in Guardian to make sure that you are aware of the contract length when you sign up for service. It was never explained to me and I paid 11 months for a service that I could not use.

We've been a customer of Guardian for five years. Two years ago we moved, and in doing so had to pay for a full installation at our new house, more than $1,000 in equipment. When we signed the paperwork for this installation, the fine print said that we were locking ourselves in to 37 months of service. This was never explained to us. When we moved a year late for work, our new house was not set up for a system. So we could either pay another $1k setup or no longer use the service. It is at this point that we were informed of the 37 month agreement. There is no getting out of this. So we have to make two years of $42/month payments for a service that we cannot use. That's more than $1k for nothing! I would not use Guardian again because of this, and cannot recommend them to anyone. Read the fine print!

Setting up my Guardian system was great. The customer service rep demonstrated and set it up. I went on vacation so they showed me how to put somebody else in and they had a little trouble with the system for a while because I was trying to enter a certain code and there was another code. I'm still getting used to Guardian because of the other system I had, but now it's easy. It is a people friendly device. I've talked to reps and customer service care and everybody's been helpful. I've always got a security system and having Guardian gives me peace of mind.

The reps from Guardian Protection Services came to the house. Our interactions have been positive. They've been accommodating as well. However, they definitely have some scheduling issues as far as getting technicians because we ended up pulling the system. So, we don't currently use Guardian anymore. They installed it and we had it in our home for a couple weeks but we notified them the day after it was installed. It was because we found out about my wife's employment situation, so we got it uninstalled within a couple of weeks. But, while we had it, my wife seemed to have a little bit more security when she was home alone with the kids. All in all, I was happy with their service.

People, if you are considering Guardian, please take your business elsewhere. The customer service here is absolutely rotten. Not only that, the equipment is unreliable. A home security system is an extremely important part of your home. Do not trust that tall order with Guardian. I flip houses for a living and have ALWAYS used Guardian in the past. Their customer service and equipment has progressively gotten worse and worse. For example, I sold two security systems along with the houses that I recently sold to my home buyers. The buyers wanted to take over the contracts (you'd think this would be a big bonus for Guardian!). However, their experience trying to transfer the alarm contract over to their names was a nightmare.
To add insult to injury, after the contracts were eventually successfully transferred over, Guardian keeps charging my credit card. And they can't seem to figure out why this keeps happening. The last time I called in, they tried to argue with me about my current mailing address (even though it's at the top of my bill...again, we are talking about a bill I'm not supposed to be getting in the first place). Trying to talk to a human being and customer service is like being in the twilight zone. No one seems to know what's going on and they are always saying that "another department will need to call me back". There are a lot of other home security options out there to choose from. I would not recommend Guardian.

I love the fact that Guardian Protection Services put information in my email every day. Everything works fine. When you shut it off at night, it comes on good and goes off good in the morning. The rep that I worked with was wonderful. And the young man that put in all the things that he was supposed to was very nice. When the rep talked to me about transferring to Guardian from ADT, he said everything would be the same. I paid $34.49 with ADT but I'm spending $39.99 with Guardian. So that's $5 more and it bothered me. When he told me about Guardian, it sounded interesting. But afterwards I thought, why didn't I just forget it and stayed with ADT. But I like the program. It’s that I do mind the fact that I thought I was gonna be paying one thing and I’m paying another. Also, I was supposed to get an agreement paper but I never got it. But overall, I was more than just satisfied with Guardian.

We went with Guardian Protection Services because we were at a local brand when we moved into the house seven years ago. And now, we wanted to go with the national brand. We also wanted to get it through a Wi-Fi enabled versus through a landline so I can have some mobile accessibility. The salesperson was fine however the installation guy was rushed. After they left, I had to get online and download the mobile app and figure out how all that worked myself.
They didn't change the setup of the system. And all that alarming equipment and the motion sensor were here previously so all I did was to replace touchpad panels and upgrade the brain so that it becomes mobile. It's handy because I can activate the system with my iPhone now or disable it. And I've had to learn all that myself. And then, I had a couple of issues. I read through all the paperwork and I could not figure out how to do the sync and a couple of other things. So, we had the technician come back out last week and he helped me do all that.
And then we had trouble with one of the temperature sensors. It alarmed and we had disabled that. The technicians were supposed to come out today, but the guy couldn't make it. I got a call and he said he's gonna come back out on Friday to replace that sensor. And in the meanwhile, last night, things started going off at three o'clock in the morning. There was a 100 code but there was nothing in any of the documentations that say what a 100 code is. There's no sensor alarm along with the 100 alarm. And the sensor is like number 10. The sensor usually goes 100. And now, I haven't been able to follow up on them yet.
It wasn't exactly smooth as far as walking through in making sure the mobile service worked correctly and everything else on the initial installation was not done, so when other guys have come, they showed me a couple of tricks that I missed which is good. But it could have been done upfront right there. I wouldn't recommend Guardian because I'm still having issues.

I wanted security and I like that with Guardian, I could remotely turn my alarm on and off and unlock my doors including my garage, which is a plus. The representatives and the gentleman who installed the system were great. I let the gentleman do his own thing but he was very informative while installing and he cleaned up after himself. He also demonstrated the app and showed me how to go online afterward if I need to change the passcodes. And if we haven't gone over it, then I wouldn't have enrolled. It gives me peace of mind knowing I have the system in place.
Guardian had to contact me twice and one was when the patio door for the kitchen was unlocked because the wind blew it open. And 40 minutes after I left my home, I got a text message and I wondered since I knew I closed and locked the door. But then, right after that message, someone called, which was great. I told the lady I'm not there so she called the police. The police came out, unlocked my garage and they're all in and turned off the security system. The second one was when my son was just being quick to open the door. The alarm went off and I could not figure out the code, and then I thought, "Oh, I can just go on my phone and disarm it." But they called me immediately and I told them it was just an accident. So, I like that you'll get an immediate alert of anything that's going. Most times when my alarm went off, I was sitting right at the house and immediately someone was ringing my phone.

One of my friends, who is also my neighbor, is using Guardian Protection Services. And the special thing is I can check from my iPhone. When the installation guys came two months ago, they installed it in my phone and it was working fine. And last week, Guardian removed it from my device. So, I called them and they said that they have to redo it again and they couldn't request so, it might be two days. That was the reason I got the Guardian. And if I don't have that, then it's not good. The customer service reps are helpful. I tell them what the problem is and they try to solve it. If it's not possible, then they say, "Okay. I'll give you a call." They don’t ignore you and that's good.
I had a problem with the installation because it took a long time before they gave a date. The first time they came, there is not enough information such as who’s going to come and they don’t have all the equipment. They rescheduled after one month. They said, "You have a contract now, so you have to cancel your old system." I did and because of that I did not have a security system running for half a month. The installation guy was very busy so they didn't give me the earliest date after the first people came. They said we have to change the panel and there’s some more work so we have to make another appointment because in his list it was only to change. But after that, everything was fine, I don’t have a problem. We like that we don't have to run to the panel to see which door is open. When one of the doors open, it says, “Garage door open” or “Front door open”. It's a very good system.

Before having Guardian, I used to have Vivint, wherein it would tell me which door or window was ajar. On the other hand, Guardian only chimes when I open one of the doors, and I haven't heard any talking which I was used to with Vivint. Nevertheless, everyone from Guardian customer service has been great and they've done an outstanding job. Also, their installer explained everything and walked my wife through using the app. I love Guardian's system especially since it has a loud sound. Now, I have peace of mind.

The voice feature on your keypad is activated during an emergency and lets you speak directly with Guardian's monitoring center without picking up the phone. The chime feature, when turned on, makes a sound to let you know when a monitored door or window has been opened. When the chime sounds the keypad will not speak to you but it should show you, in words, the name of the door or window which has been opened so that you are well informed. Guardian Protection was tied with our builder, Ryan Homes, and I just went with them. The customer service reps knew exactly what I asked for, and the experience was good. The person who came over showed me exactly where all the data points, cable points, and security system were, as well as how it worked or how to activate it. He knew exactly what was happening and was able to answer all my questions. However, my wife is 100% deaf, so I asked if I can get a strobe light hooked up to the fire alarm system, but they did not have the ability to do that. The fire alarms are really loud but I thought the strobe light would help her more than the actual alarm. Also, they have locked me in for five years, and I thought locking me in for two or three years should be enough. The only way to get out of it is if I pay for the whole five years. But other than that, everything else works fine.
I find the smartphone features really good, especially when we're an hour away from home and remember the house. We had that scenario a couple of times and we just got on the phone and made sure that the system was on. Also, when I want to know when my kid came home, I can go and check the front door sensor and see where he came in. The system has a couple of features that I was looking for and I find them very helpful. I'm feeling very secure with Guardian's system and I would recommend them.

When the rep from Guardian Protection Services came by, he told me everything in detail and I asked a lot of questions. Then, we went to my basement. He told me about the window and how I needed protection there because I didn’t have it at first. I told him to go ahead and put protection on the windows in the basement. Everybody was very helpful. There were two guys that were here and I walked and talked with them about everything they did. They even gave me their phone numbers to give them a call if I had any question. They did the installation and the rep even put the signs up.
I bought this house but I’m here by myself so to know that I have that type of protection, I feel a little bit better. At first, I said, “Oh man, I need to get a dog. I need to get somebody else to move in with me.” I don’t need to make those extra steps to get more protection because I have them here now. I like the fact that when I’m leaving the house, if ever I forgot to put the alarm on, I could use my phone to put the alarm on. It makes me feel good because I’ve only been here for a month. Also, if anything happens within my house, it sends me a message.
Last week, I had left the garage door open and they called me and asked me if I was okay. I said, “What are you talking about? I’m fine. I’m here at work.” They said, “Well, your door is open.” I said, “What? What are you talking about?” The garage door wasn’t open but it so happened the actual door was a little bit open. They had someone come here to make sure everything was okay. I liked that because that showed me I had protection here. So if anything went down, they would know. So far, I like it. I feel more secured.

My friend Jasmine works for Guardian and she got everything taken cared of. Everything was amazing. Installation was fast and easy. My house was secured and I feel a lot more secure when I'm gone. It's good. The only thing I was wondering about is if there's a way to make the alarm just beep instead of it saying "Front door open", however I haven't had a chance to call them. I also need a yard sign because I messed up mine.

One of my neighbors referred me to Guardian and the sales rep who called me was very nice. She was also very knowledgeable. But I did a mess. She asked me for my Social Security Number and like an idiot, I gave it to her. I never give anybody my Social Security number and she should not have been asking for it to start with. I was not really very happy about it. Then she told me she would have a tech guy at my house the next day.
Jason, the tech guy, showed up and we went over the system including what it would do and what it’s capable of. And I took the better system that is capable of supporting cameras. He was super nice and very knowledgeable. He was also helpful and handled the installation well. We put the locks and the sensors for the six outside doors. We also put a motion detector in my garage that’s almost 100 yards away and another motion detector in the house. When we’re away, we arm it to where the motion sensor is on. When we’re here at night, we don’t put the motion sensor on so that means the motion sensor in my garage is disabled, too. That leaves me with nothing there at night. I need a way to arm the motion sensor in the garage and leave the one in the house disabled but I am not sure if Guardian's system is capable of doing that at all.
What I do not like about the system is if I’m out of the room and the alarm goes off, I can’t hear it. I know it is extremely loud to people that can hear high frequencies but I have a high frequency hearing loss. And I’m not the only one with the high frequency hearing loss as a lot of old people do. The only reason I went ahead and put it in is because my wife can hear it. But I need to be able to change the frequency of the buzzer to a lower one so I can hear it. It went off one night and I was in the next room playing a card game on the computer. My wife came through and told me the alarm’s going off but I was not hearing it. And I was only 15 paces away with the door open. We went to the system and disarmed it. Guardian's monitor guy came on and asked me if I needed police. We told him no, closed the door, and armed it again.
I was happy that worked and he came on that quickly. But my wife is in poor health and if Guardian won’t be able to change that sensor, I will discontinue my contract with them because it won’t do me good if I can’t hear it. Nevertheless, I do feel better having Guardian. So far, I am happy with their system and their service. And their process isn’t really all that bad. It’s a little pricey but I can live with that for now.
