I purchased a new home June, 2022 and received a GE Stove, Model JGBS61DP2WW. Kieffer Appliance store in Lansdale, PA and GE service repairmen have both serviced stove. The oven will not work. You can preheat the oven, but when the temperature drops the stove will not reheat. The electric starter lights but the stove will not relight. GE claims the breaker doesn't have enough voltage to run the stove. It's gas! The breaker is a 20 AMP and it takes 6 to run a gas stove. The electric clock, lights, starters and top burners all work but there is no gas coming in to light and reheat the stove. GE won't fix it and Kieffer tells me they owe us nothing because they sold the stove to the builder!! DO NOT BUY GE PRODUCTS. THEY DON'T BACK UP THEIR PRODUCTS. Do not do business with Kieffer Appliances or Regal Builders unless you like paying for a product that is no good.

Hi, I purchased my home in 2021 and it came with a GE range (model # JB645RK6SS, serial # LR018824Q). Within the last 3 weeks, I have been smelling a burnt plastic smell when turning on the oven. Within the last 2 weeks, I noticed that the oven started smoking when in use. I contacted GE customer support on 10/31/22, and the first available service appointment was a week out, 11/7/22. I received a call on 11/7/22 from GE customer support informing me that the technician called out sick and that I needed to move my appointment to 11/14/22. The CSR was not empathetic nor sympathetic. She was very cold and offered no apology. She made it seem as if it was a choice. She told me that there was no other technician available. I need a stove, as I have a newborn. A week without an oven was a major inconvenience, now it will be 2 weeks without one.

This is ridiculous. Of course, I told her that I would accept the new date. What else could I do? I understand that things happen that are outside of our control. But what bothers me is that this company doesn't have any other technicians on duty. Or that this company couldn't fit me in any day the week of the 7th. Or that she didn't care or show any remorse of the inconvenience that this caused to my household. I’m annoyed that no one called the night before, per the website they are supposed to contact you the day before your scheduled appointment to confirm your appointment. Today is 11/13/22 and no confirmation call. This really has me concerned about ever making a GE purchase in the future.

I bought this oven as part of an upgrade kitchen package just over two years ago. The oven has an electronic control board at the front of the oven that provides for a sleek design. The control panel is also WiFi enabled so it allows you to see if your oven is on while you're away. I rarely cook so I do not have much to say about the cooking features of the oven.

The issue with this oven happened a few weeks ago after a power outage. I came home to find my townhome full of smoke along with the smell of fire. There was no active fire upon by arrival, just the smoke and smell. It was not readily apparent what caused the fire, however I was able to narrow this down based on the soot surrounding and covering the range. I also noticed the control panel was blank. When I went to check the circuit breaker, I also found that the breaker was tripped for the range. As a note, the range was not on prior to leaving the house nor had it been used in several days.

I called GE appliances up to discuss the issue. They created a case and sent a technician out to look into the issue. The technician removed the control panel and found that the circuit and wires within the control panel were melted. The technician reviewed a few other areas within the range and reported that the range was not reparable.

I am being told that since the range is out of the one-year warranty, there is nothing that can be done regarding this incident and range. The two main issues around this are regarding product quality and the potential for a house fire with this appliance. No other appliance or electrical component was damaged due to the power outage. This appears to be an isolated incident related to this range.

The first time I used my broiler on my new GE range, the element literally blew up. It was like the 4th of July in my oven. It blew a hole in the element and shot "shrapnel" that is all over the roof of the oven. I've had 2 service calls and a new element has been on order for 2 months. They never said how they were going to resolve the "shrapnel" issue. The range is under warranty. GE set up a service call and then Asurion (who administers the warranty) got involved. The two don't communicate and keep asking me to call the other. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. In the meantime GE said they have someone coming out tomorrow. Asurion called and said no that's not correct and they have me set up for an appointment next week. For this reason I will never purchase another GE product.

I purchased an (expensive) Induction GE Cafe. "GE Cares" does not care. They give you a run-around until you finally give up. They promise they sent parts and then when you don't receive them, they say the case was already closed. This is the 3rd time. There is a call center is just a way to field calls and take messages. They will not call you back. This is the worst experience I have ever had and problem with an appliance and I'm almost 60.

Bought a GE stove five months ago. Last night after the oven had been off for hours, it started leaking gas about midnight. As we were going to bed we smelled it. We had to have an emergency service call from So Cal Gas who said it is a defective oven part. I have been bounced all over GE trying to get a replacement oven. They would like to just have it serviced. Remember every part of the oven was off and it randomly began leaking gas. Would this ever be OK with any family? At 3:30 PST there was no one to talk to at GE Cares to try to get a solution. This is unacceptable and I will not stop until the oven gets replaced. It's a gas bomb.

It is a glass top ceramic range with a convection oven. The oven had to be recalibrate so that it would bake evenly according to recipe bake times. All in all I would not buy again and would look for a more dependable brand preferably one made in the U.S.A.!

Our burners have been replaced 3 times in the past 2 years since we've purchased the range. This has not been the same burner either as the two main burners have both burnt out at least once. GE requires a $100 fee to send a technician out if you're not under warranty even if you refuse service (due to parts or extra complicated things). I've called customer service about this as parts have been replaced through warranty. Once you are outside the 1 year warranty window for the range (which strangely enough I've had multiple warranty claims already within the year) you must pay the fee.

I would say stay away from this company as the burners constantly blow out or stop working over short periods of time. I have owned multiple GE ranges and they've all had the same burner problems. You will most likely spend more money in 3-4 years than purchasing a completely different brand range as these GE stoves do not last.

I have recently purchased a GE gas stove JCGB735SPSS. It works fine but the configuration of the burners is very impractical. The largest burner is at the front, so that means if I have two pots the smaller one would be behind the larger one ... how can I reach it? It is downright dangerous. Also, the largest pot - at the front by design - can be easily overturned and the content cause serious burns if not death. It is something one does not realize until the stove is in use. I was told the GE is a leader in appliances but the design of this stove is not a proof of this claim.

We purchased a GE Adora gas range and I’ve regretted my decision ever since. The coating on the panel has been slowly peeling in little sections at a time and the knobs are cheap plastic with a “metal coating” that chipped completely off on two of them from the steam that comes from where the door is. I also wish I had realized that an interior door light was not included. A soufflé would almost be impossible to check on! Needless to say, I was completely in love with the appearance of the product and feel let down. Lesson learned and I will consider another brand when making my next purchase in appliances. Pretty to look at until the quality reveals itself.

Although they look nice polished and shiny, and they’ve been out for a very long time, I hate them for practicality. Just after one use, you wipe, and finding the “right” product to get just boiled over substances, I’m constantly scrubbing and polishing to get that nice CLEAN look. I have better things to do than clean a glass stove top! The cooking side of things; it’s not my favorite to have an electric stove. It takes a bit to heat up at the start and it’s new! Then, takes a bit for the temp to lower when needed. The last thing I want to express is that the “low” is like medium on one burner, and another it’s like off or barely on, although the light indicates it is on. Just not for ME... All in all, it cooks.

Also, gas ovens really create a lot of heat in the room which makes it hard to use the higher temperatures in modern apartments with sensitive smoke detectors that are located in the kitchen. I'm afraid to try and bake my tater tots which require 450 oven temperature. I didn't have the same concerns when I lived in apartments with electric ranges (although I hate electric stove tops). This is my third GE gas range -- two were the Profile model and one the "regular" model. I currently have a Profile, purchased for my new house in August 2020. I purchased seven appliances at that time and was amazed that owner's manuals were not included with all appliances -- but the GE Profile DID come with a manual.

Since this is my third GE gas range, I am familiar with the basic set-up of the unit. A few new features were added since my last purchase of a non-Profile GE gas range in 2012, but none of the new features are startlingly unusual. The feature I like most about the unit is that the grates over the burners cover the entire top of the range. There are four circular burners in each corner of the range top and an oval "griddle" in the center. There are three grates back-to-front across the range top. And they are black, so the constant soiling that collected on the gray grates I had on my two previous GE gas ranges isn't visible now. Two of the burners are large, high-powered ones and two are lesser powered (one of those being more of a "simmer" burner).

There are two features I don't like. One is that the alarm for the timer is so quiet it's impossible to hear if you're not within 2 feet of the range. I always set a small, portable Polder brand timer that has a loud alarm if I'm going to be in another room of the house while the range's timer is set. The other feature I dislike is that the surface under the burners is white (like color I ordered the stove in) and I wish it was black to match the grates. The gas from the burners, and spilled food, cause it to need daily cleaning. The stains left by the gas burners is very difficult to remove.
