About GE Ranges
GE appliances come with a traditional warranty, but the company also offers extended coverage with Bodewell Care Protection Plans. Backed by Assurant, GE’s authorized provider of extended warranties, these plans cover parts and labor for appliance repairs after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. You can pick and choose which appliances or systems to cover.

I purchased the GE Profile - 5.3 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Electric Induction True Convection Range with No Preheat Air Fry and WiFi - Stainless Steel Model:PHS930YPFS less than a year ago. It is rusting already. Customer service is refusing to replace the part for free. Absolutely disgusted. I paid over $3K for this hunk of rust.

My range is 3 years old and the door is going rusty. I have never had any appliance go rusty. GE will not help because the warranty has expired. I will not ever buy another GE product. It is very disappointing.

Cons: The stove knobs are extremely hot to touch if the oven is on. The oven (and knobs) would certainly burn a child. The grates do not clean up well. The middle griddle is nice but scratches easily so you must keep a copper sheet in top of it when not in use.
Pros: true to temperature in the oven. Able to set flame height when installed. 4 levels and sizes of burners. Aluminum finish cleans well if done properly.

Our 2020 GE induction oven had a glass protective panel on it which exploded when a pan that was being removed from the right stove top induction area struck the metal (not the glass) which resulted in the entire glass panel to shatter and thow pieces all over the kitchen. Photos can be provided. This suggests that the glas is not properly tempered, it should not shatter! This poses a dangerous threat to children and pets as well as other family members. No comment from GE. Replacement glass cost is $699. Labor $189. Almost 1 third of the cost of the entire oven new.

GE Profile™ 30" Built-In Touch Control Induction Cooktop Model # PHP9030DJBB: DOES NOT WORK - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (THE WORST)! Brand-New out of the box, installed by a licensed electrician in the business for 50 years, and the cooktop does not work. I literally have a $3,000 non-functioning paperweight in my kitchen and cannot cook for my family. GE Customer Relations Department has been awful and has not helped us. They obviously do not care. They pretend to be helpful, but they do not help at all and they lie, lie, and then lie some more. Me and my family have been unable to cook for 3 weeks. GE has not offered us any assistance nor have they apologized. GE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ME OR YOU OR ANYBODY FOR THAT MATTER - PERIOD!
I asked them to simply send me a brand-new functioning cooktop and and they said, "No, that's not how our procedures work." They said it needs a new part and they'll ship that part to me and send out a repairman to install it. I requested the part be shipped overnight. They agreed to ship it overnight. Well, the part should have arrived today, but it has not arrived. I contacted GE and they said, "Oopsie, we forgot to ship it overnight. You'll receive it in 7 to 10 days." No apology. No offer to help us financially with the high cost of eating out due to not being able to cook - NOTHING. This is the worst possible situation anyone can ever be in with a company.
I literally asked their representative Amy, "Per your policy, what is the amount of time you are willing to allow your client to stew before you step in and fix the problem." Amy's answer (per the recorded phone call), "It's on a case-by-case basis." You cannot make this garbage up, folks! I do not recommend GE, and I do not recommend any GE products. In fact, I'd suggest you run hard and fast away from GE! I will be calling the BBB tomorrow and filing a report and I will also call whomever else I can think of to complain and/or fill out a report. GE simple does not care about anyone but themselves and their bottom line $$$. If you buy GE, you may as well bend over and get ready to scream! Products used: GE Profile™ 30" Built-In Touch Control Induction Cooktop Model #: PHP9030DJBB.

I want to express my extreme disappointment regarding my experience with the GE Profile™ Series 30" Slide-In Front Control Induction and Convection Range that I purchased on February 28th of last year. Since the purchase, the range has been turning off on its own, initially occurring occasionally, but has now escalated to happening every time I use the range. I contacted the GE appliances maintenance department in February to report the issue, and a technician was sent to inspect the range. The technician identified the electric panel needed to be replaced, which, according to the technician, is a known problem for this range since the front electric panel that controls the range is exposed to any liquid spills. I was surprised to hear about this design flaw, as it was not disclosed to me during the purchase.
After several discussions with the GE appliances maintenance department, they initially agreed to fix the issue under warranty. However, a few days later, I received a call from the department informing me that the issue is not covered under warranty, and that I would need to pay approximately $750 to resolve it. I find this extremely disappointing, considering the cost of the range and the known design flaw that GE Appliances should have addressed before releasing the product to the market.
I have made several attempts to address this issue, but I have not received any response or acknowledgment from any of the email recipients, which is even more disappointing. I am concerned that the design flaw poses a safety risk to myself and others. The area between the panel and the stovetop should be sealed to prevent any liquid from spilling into the electrical panel, and this flaw should have been addressed before releasing the product to the market.

We ordered a GE Profile Induction Range. It works great but we cannot use all four burners at once. Finally asked GE for service. Tech showed up ordered parts and scheduled a return day and time, 1-5 pm. Parts showed up in two weeks. Repair appointment was four weeks. Package sat for two weeks. Day they were supposed to show up, no show. Started phoning, trying to "track technician" at 2. Couldn't track. Finally spoke to a person just before 5. Put me on hold for 10 minutes. When they got back to me, after 5, they said the "dispatcher is closed" so they couldn't find out why the repair person didn't show up. Only thing they can do is schedule us again.

I purchased a new home June, 2022 and received a GE Stove, Model JGBS61DP2WW. Kieffer Appliance store in Lansdale, PA and GE service repairmen have both serviced stove. The oven will not work. You can preheat the oven, but when the temperature drops the stove will not reheat. The electric starter lights but the stove will not relight. GE claims the breaker doesn't have enough voltage to run the stove. It's gas! The breaker is a 20 AMP and it takes 6 to run a gas stove. The electric clock, lights, starters and top burners all work but there is no gas coming in to light and reheat the stove. GE won't fix it and Kieffer tells me they owe us nothing because they sold the stove to the builder!! DO NOT BUY GE PRODUCTS. THEY DON'T BACK UP THEIR PRODUCTS. Do not do business with Kieffer Appliances or Regal Builders unless you like paying for a product that is no good.

Hi, I purchased my home in 2021 and it came with a GE range (model # JB645RK6SS, serial # LR018824Q). Within the last 3 weeks, I have been smelling a burnt plastic smell when turning on the oven. Within the last 2 weeks, I noticed that the oven started smoking when in use. I contacted GE customer support on 10/31/22, and the first available service appointment was a week out, 11/7/22. I received a call on 11/7/22 from GE customer support informing me that the technician called out sick and that I needed to move my appointment to 11/14/22. The CSR was not empathetic nor sympathetic. She was very cold and offered no apology. She made it seem as if it was a choice. She told me that there was no other technician available. I need a stove, as I have a newborn. A week without an oven was a major inconvenience, now it will be 2 weeks without one.
This is ridiculous. Of course, I told her that I would accept the new date. What else could I do? I understand that things happen that are outside of our control. But what bothers me is that this company doesn't have any other technicians on duty. Or that this company couldn't fit me in any day the week of the 7th. Or that she didn't care or show any remorse of the inconvenience that this caused to my household. I’m annoyed that no one called the night before, per the website they are supposed to contact you the day before your scheduled appointment to confirm your appointment. Today is 11/13/22 and no confirmation call. This really has me concerned about ever making a GE purchase in the future.

I bought this oven as part of an upgrade kitchen package just over two years ago. The oven has an electronic control board at the front of the oven that provides for a sleek design. The control panel is also WiFi enabled so it allows you to see if your oven is on while you're away. I rarely cook so I do not have much to say about the cooking features of the oven.
The issue with this oven happened a few weeks ago after a power outage. I came home to find my townhome full of smoke along with the smell of fire. There was no active fire upon by arrival, just the smoke and smell. It was not readily apparent what caused the fire, however I was able to narrow this down based on the soot surrounding and covering the range. I also noticed the control panel was blank. When I went to check the circuit breaker, I also found that the breaker was tripped for the range. As a note, the range was not on prior to leaving the house nor had it been used in several days.
I called GE appliances up to discuss the issue. They created a case and sent a technician out to look into the issue. The technician removed the control panel and found that the circuit and wires within the control panel were melted. The technician reviewed a few other areas within the range and reported that the range was not reparable.
I am being told that since the range is out of the one-year warranty, there is nothing that can be done regarding this incident and range. The two main issues around this are regarding product quality and the potential for a house fire with this appliance. No other appliance or electrical component was damaged due to the power outage. This appears to be an isolated incident related to this range.

The first time I used my broiler on my new GE range, the element literally blew up. It was like the 4th of July in my oven. It blew a hole in the element and shot "shrapnel" that is all over the roof of the oven. I've had 2 service calls and a new element has been on order for 2 months. They never said how they were going to resolve the "shrapnel" issue. The range is under warranty. GE set up a service call and then Asurion (who administers the warranty) got involved. The two don't communicate and keep asking me to call the other. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. In the meantime GE said they have someone coming out tomorrow. Asurion called and said no that's not correct and they have me set up for an appointment next week. For this reason I will never purchase another GE product.

I purchased an (expensive) Induction GE Cafe. "GE Cares" does not care. They give you a run-around until you finally give up. They promise they sent parts and then when you don't receive them, they say the case was already closed. This is the 3rd time. There is a call center is just a way to field calls and take messages. They will not call you back. This is the worst experience I have ever had and problem with an appliance and I'm almost 60.

Bought a GE stove five months ago. Last night after the oven had been off for hours, it started leaking gas about midnight. As we were going to bed we smelled it. We had to have an emergency service call from So Cal Gas who said it is a defective oven part. I have been bounced all over GE trying to get a replacement oven. They would like to just have it serviced. Remember every part of the oven was off and it randomly began leaking gas. Would this ever be OK with any family? At 3:30 PST there was no one to talk to at GE Cares to try to get a solution. This is unacceptable and I will not stop until the oven gets replaced. It's a gas bomb.

I have had a G.E. Adora range now for a few years. It consistently does not keep the burners on and as a result takes forever to boil water! It is a glass top ceramic range with a convection oven. The oven had to be recalibrate so that it would bake evenly according to recipe bake times. All in all I would not buy again and would look for a more dependable brand preferably one made in the U.S.A.!

User friendly, has a lot of options to use, I can time bake, have the oven go on and off without me being home. It has Sabbath mode for those that keep the Sabbath. It has sealed burners making it easy to clean the stovetop. Oven self cleans with almost no smell. Door of oven is easy to clean. Overall I am very satisfied with it.

Our burners have been replaced 3 times in the past 2 years since we've purchased the range. This has not been the same burner either as the two main burners have both burnt out at least once. GE requires a $100 fee to send a technician out if you're not under warranty even if you refuse service (due to parts or extra complicated things). I've called customer service about this as parts have been replaced through warranty. Once you are outside the 1 year warranty window for the range (which strangely enough I've had multiple warranty claims already within the year) you must pay the fee.
I would say stay away from this company as the burners constantly blow out or stop working over short periods of time. I have owned multiple GE ranges and they've all had the same burner problems. You will most likely spend more money in 3-4 years than purchasing a completely different brand range as these GE stoves do not last.

I have recently purchased a GE gas stove JCGB735SPSS. It works fine but the configuration of the burners is very impractical. The largest burner is at the front, so that means if I have two pots the smaller one would be behind the larger one ... how can I reach it? It is downright dangerous. Also, the largest pot - at the front by design - can be easily overturned and the content cause serious burns if not death. It is something one does not realize until the stove is in use. I was told the GE is a leader in appliances but the design of this stove is not a proof of this claim.

I understand the concern for safety. And it's not just G. E. products mandate I guess. However the safety burners shut off on you constantly. What ends up happening is ruined food. Messed up recipes, messed up cooking times, etc. The worst part is ruined food. It's so bad, that I had to go out and buy a hotplate. Oven is fine. Stovetop is essentially useless. It's in a rental. Can't get rid of it. If I owned it, I'd sell it for scrap.

We purchased a GE Adora gas range and I’ve regretted my decision ever since. The coating on the panel has been slowly peeling in little sections at a time and the knobs are cheap plastic with a “metal coating” that chipped completely off on two of them from the steam that comes from where the door is. I also wish I had realized that an interior door light was not included. A soufflé would almost be impossible to check on! Needless to say, I was completely in love with the appearance of the product and feel let down. Lesson learned and I will consider another brand when making my next purchase in appliances. Pretty to look at until the quality reveals itself.

I have a General Electric range and so far it’s ok. The self cleaning operation is ok. It just seems as if the mechanics of the stove is not what it used to be. For example when I turn off the left front burner. It takes a while to cool down which for me as an older person could be a safety issue. Not happy with the self cleaning arrangement, oven doesn’t get as clean as I would like to see it. Not happy with only a one year warranty. It seems as though the workmanship has suffered for the sake of more profits.

The GE electric stove that we have is a great stove. GE products seem to last well. I prefer a gas stove/oven as it is much easier to adjust the heat. But I have no complaints as for as the product itself.
