You can clearly see that this has been an ongoing issue for many customers, as is evident on their own website, and yet GE fails to protect their brand by not caring about their customers complaints. On their own website there are many customers complaining about the lower spray arm melting and even the “new” replacement part melting as well. They need to find a solution for this problem and make it right.

Inherited a GE dishwasher when we bought the house. Approx. 5 years old or less. It kept making strange beeping hours at all hours before it just up and died. Repair service explained the 2 of the 3 main parts for this dishwasher were discontinued by GE and replaced with other parts. The one part we needed to fix it doesn't exist anymore, so the dishwasher is headed is to the scrap heap. There's no way I'll ever buy a GE product.

Terrible Experience with Teknoton: GE Dishwasher Service Nightmare I recently moved into a brand-new home built by Taylor Morrison, complete with all new GE appliances, including a dishwasher that was supposed to be top-of-the-line. From day one, the dishwasher has been completely non-functional—leaking water, failing to drain... It's under full warranty, yet resolving this has been an absolute disaster thanks to Teknoton, GE's authorized service provider. We've had three separate service calls from Teknoton technicians over the past few months, and each time, they've left without fixing the issue. The first visit: they "inspected" it and said it needed a part. Weeks later, the second call: part installed, but it still didn't work. Third call: more poking around, vague promises, and zero resolution. Their techs seem undertrained or just uninterested, and follow-up communication is nonexistent. Every time I call, they act like it's the first they've heard of it

Purchased a "super quiet" GE Profile dishwasher along with 3 other GE appliances 6 months ago. It became evident quickly that the dishwasher frequently left food particles on the dishes, even if they were rinsed first. Had the technician come out who said the unit was working as intended, and that dishwashers in general had de lined in manufacturing quality. Now, chunks of black material are falling out of the bottom of the door. Turns out this is sound proofing insulation. The door panel now has to be replaced, thankfully under warranty. Am so disappointed - GE was always considered so reliable. This is the first set of new appliances I have ever had, and I'm over 70!

I am waiting for my 4th Cafe Dishwasher. The first one was delivered with a broken door. Did not install. Picked up and replaced. The second one was delivered with a torqued body so the door did not shut properly. Did not install. Picked up and replaced. The third one was installed and steam escapes and forms condensation underneath the counter top. Then drips onto the control pad and then drips down the door when opened. GE opted to replace it after a service call adding a new seal and inner door panel did not solve the problem. I still have this one and I am waiting for the new one to be installed. It actually runs well and does a good job cleaning the dishes, but the door leak creates the condensation. I have read other reviews with this same problem.

The fourth one was a being picked up at the appliance warehouse today by the installer and he declined to take it due to the door being bent. They are bringing in a new one. He said he sees a lot of damage on GE appliances across the board. GE needs to improve their packing of their products and invest in better logistics. Really confusing how they absorb the loss of 3 dishwashers so far. They do have good service Techs who are very knowledgeable and who have been to my house 4 times already for this dishwasher situation, but they were all unfixable problems in the field.

I would highly recommend buying other brands only for the damage issues. Why have the Hassle! Luckily I did not pay for this dishwasher yet. Might be buying a Bosch if this fourth one turns out bad. I also bought a refrigerator and 6 burner duel fuel oven and they seem to be working OK. All only in use for 3 months so far. I would give it no stars but I had to pick one.

I do not recommend the GE dishwasher model PDT145SSLOSS. Be prepared to wash dishes thoroughly before loading. Hard to use the Start button. Does not clean, sanitize, or dry. Runs way too long with horrible results, even when using hot water from the supply. The flatware rack does not lock in. Dishes do not stay fixed within the rack holders. Tall 6-inch glasses fall over. GE emphasizes energy efficiency, which is countered by the long-run cycle. In my opinion, there are no energy savings because it continues to run. GE emphasizes energy efficiency, which is just more work, requiring manual cleaning of dishes that come out dirty and wet.

We purchased the GE GPT225SGL2WW portable dishwasher (Serial #: FZ608523K) in February 2024, and it has been a nightmare. The first unit failed almost immediately — GE said the part needed was on backorder until September, which is completely unacceptable for a brand-new appliance. Thankfully, they did replace the unit within 30 days. The replacement worked for a short while, but then the control panel failed. We called again, the same repairmen came out, confirmed the issue, and said the part needed to be ordered. After waiting with no follow-up, it was finally repaired.

Not long after that, the control panel failed again — and now, on top of that, the unit leaks water during the cycle. This dishwasher has been out of service more than it's been usable. When we last spoke to GE, their rep told us they would extend our warranty by a year due to all the issues. But when the control panel failed a third time, we tried to book another service call and were denied — they suddenly claimed our warranty had expired, despite the verbal promise of an extension and the fact that it was only purchased a few months ago.

So far: 3 control panel failures. A leaking unit. More time spent broken than functioning. A false promise of a warranty extension. Rude and inconsistent customer service. This has been a huge waste of time, money, and effort. GE has completely failed to support their product or honor their own commitments. Avoid the GE GPT225SGL2WW at all costs. It’s unreliable, cheaply built, and backed by a customer service team that doesn’t follow through.

GE dishwasher heavy cycle runs 4.5 hours, the dishes are wet, the hot water options do not work. The 1-hour cycle runs for 2.5 hours and dishes come out wet and dirty. The reservoir is filled with liquid 'jet dry' yet dishes come out wet. The appliance repair guy (he works on all makes and models) came out and checked it, no parts replaced because he said it is working as designed. Even the repair technician said GE dishwashers are low quality. I purchased this washer for my daughter, going to swap it out with a Bosch, that is what I have. The Bosch heavy wash runs 2 hours and 19 minutes. The dishes come out clean, dry and hot; the construction quality is much better on a Bosch; sure, a Bosch will cost more money but it's worth it.

Biggest purchasing regret of my life so far is purchasing an appliance with GE. Who has horrible customer service and their warranty for the appliances isn’t much of a warranty at all. We had a profile dishwasher for 2 days before it broke and it’s been 6 weeks and still no resolvement has happened. Technicians came out to replace parts that didn’t work. Was told after 3 service calls we would get a full replacement if deemed unfixable.

When the third technician did not show up to the appointment the service rep on call told me they canceled without notice my appointment since they were already at my house previously that week. And continued to tell me I needed 6! Service calls before they would even consider a replacement… not 3. How are we supposed to get this replaced if they canceled without notice our appointments for service without notice? I feel completely taken advantage of my this company. I will never buy anything from them again knowing this is how they treat their customers and products.

End of July 2024, I purchased a General Electric Dishwasher Model #GDF535PGR6CC. The door seal popped out with every wash, the dishes weren't cleaned, the bottom rack was unstable and fell out (no track on the opened door), and the rollers fell off. I called GE and wanted a return but they insisted on "repair" techs. Twice I had them out and was told by each, "This is the cheapest model we make." The did what I did--punch the door seal back in with a finger.

Over the months of nighttime washing (because of the noise) once a week, my laminate floor puckered. A daytime use showed water gushing out of the side of the door. I had to replace my entire floor and file a claim with GE Insurance carrier Sedgwick Claims. They offered an extremely low-ball cash settlement with no return or purchase of a new dishwasher. On top of everything, during this nightmare I have had two shoulder replacements and had to hire help to move furniture, etc during construction. Going through this during major surgery recovery has been an unbelievable hardship. I continue to struggle to resolve this with either company.

I bought my house new in 1994 so my GE Potscrubber 580 is now 31 years old. I’ve never had any problems with it! It washes the dishes and pots really well with no streaking and is relatively quiet. My 80 year old Mom lived with me in her last years and said in all the houses she lived in, the GE model was the best. The only thing I will need to do soon is replace the racks as they are somewhat worn. I do run a lemon vinegar mix through it about every 3 months to keep it fresh! I won’t buy a new one until this one stops working….and it will be another GE!

The dishwasher is almost silent which is wonderful and washes very nicely with an option for 1 hour wash without drying or a 2 hour wash with drying. It also has a setting that can heat the water if needed. From this point of view I have no hesitation in recommending this particular model. It is slightly smaller than others which I needed.

I compliment GE for responding to my complaint on their website regarding the racks. They made suggestions of alternate ways to stack dishes which have improved the situation. Also I replaced their cutlery holder with the one from my old dishwasher as it is 1 inch smaller and allows me to stack my dinner plates. My dinner plates are large and soup/dessert bowls have a large rim. Both of these things cause trouble. Again, kudos to GE for a prompt reply and solution to my problem.

I purchased this GE Dishwasher Model GBP534SSPSS because of its measurements. The dish baskets/racks are useless. The dishes do not stand sturdily. One can't help but wonder did anyone actually try to stack dishes in this appliance. WHAT SIZE DISHES DID THEY USE? I have had to change the way I stack the dishes as the prongs on the racks are not tall enough nor placed intelligently, to support the dishes and they flop about. I am surprised that the owners who make this dishwasher haven't bothered to rectify the problem. I would hesitate to stack my bone china in it as I'm sure they'll suffer cracks as a result of being thrown around. I can't comment on the actual operation of the dishwasher as it was only installed today.

General Electric dishwashers now suck apparently and the older ones are built to last you for a while and even work well. Now we just replaced our dishwasher only a year ago in November 2023 and it does not clean the dishes and it stops. It stops occasionally washes, extremely annoying and inconvenient. They purposely make appliances bad because they’re trying to get the most money out of consumers. That’s honestly sad. There are times that we aren’t. I have the money to replace things are we just need to work. And I don’t have time for a guy with an attitude to come out And try and face it and then blame us for why the dishwasher doesn’t work well.

There is these flat buttons on our dishwasher that you have to press and then you have to hold three seconds or whatever to go to the next cycle or cancel and I noticed that they don’t really run in the evening. I don’t know if it’s this 24 hour time thing where it just doesn’t run because when I run it, I have to run it in the morning which is inconvenient because I need dishes right away. It has stopped several times and it has not cleaned the dishes. Besides the dish tabs that I use being cheap and not cleaning well, the dishwasher should make up for that, but it doesn’t instead it just doesn’t even run. Kind of like our stove. I’ve been living with my husband and his house since about the end of 2021. I’ve only used our stove around up until only three years after that and it is broken now so we had to replace the whole board to it.

I recently purchased a GE dishwasher GDF460PGT online from a local big box store to replace an older GE model. The GE specification on the retailer's site said about this DW: "it's consistent performance will give you totally clean and dry dishes with every cycle"..."uses industry-leading Dry Boost technology to remove water from hard-to-dry items like plastics" and continues with "this dishwasher consistently delivers completely dry dishes". Unfortunately I was soon to find out that NONE of this was true.

This DW has three cycles: the One Hour which has no dry cycle. The Normal which leaves the contents in a sauna like environment and the same can be said of the Heavy Duty cycle with "improved drying" and again not true. Fact is my experience has been that this DW Never dries the contents and instead leaves them in a wet or moist state depending on the cycle chosen. As I struggled with this issue I belatedly went back to the Retailers site where I was able to find a summary of comments about this machine based upon 1,052 reviews which said that "it often struggles with drying capabilities" and "buyers should be aware of it's limitations in drying and durability"

I personally went to the store yesterday and after being given a several hour runaround when I asked to talk to the Appliance Department manager I finally confronted him with this information and he said to me, if this were the case he would be aware of it...Well evidently not! At that point he became uncooperative and began an obvious attempt to stonewall me and so I left and will deal with this in another way. It was also interesting to note that since my purchase the Dishwasher Ad has a new note that states "item can't be returned". Now why would they do that when their normal policy is a 48 hour return period on every other appliance I viewed? Major Damage Control at the expense of their customers I'd say.

Now I find that my level of trust has been permanently lowered in both GE, from whom I would never buy again, since they obviously lied in their own specification and the retailer whom I will only use when convenient for some basic need but never for any purchase of note ever again. Note: Sorry, I could not find a way to upload my receipt but I can assure you it's all true. Don't find out the hard way.
