The GE 24" dishwasher is a total waste of money. I purchased model #GDF535PGRWW in June 2022. It is October 2024 and the racks have rusted and it no longer adequately cleans. I've cleaned the filter numerous times but, but still dirty have dishes. I've begun using 2 soap tablets and the jet-dry liquid but everything ends up with a dirty film. Don't waste your money on this appliance.

I bought a GE dishwasher, paid over $1,159. Now just 3 years later it’s not working and repairs are going to cost $453… I guess that’s cheaper than buying a new one. But $500 a year ownership sucks. My Sears dishwasher lasted more than 16 years, wish I had it back.

Over $1200 for a Profile dishwasher. Started leaking after warranty ran out. Service wants $268 to repair. GE is a piece of crap. Profile range glass door shattered during oven cleaning cycle. They want $700+ to repair. Save your money and buy another make. Do your research. GE APPLIANCES STINK AND ARE MADE TO BREAK. Most dishwashers sold in the U.S. are made in the U.S. Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid, and IKEA dishwashers are made at the world's largest dishwasher factory, located in Findlay, Ohio. Stay away from GE.

I purchased a GE dishwasher, model GDT630PMRES. Install went well until it was time to hook up the water supply. This dishwasher has a cheap nylon/plastic fitting for a GARDEN HOSE connection. It is impossible to make that connection without it leaking. I am so fed up with this cheap Chinese junk. Who was the idiot that spec'd a crappy nylon fitting for a critical component? You saved 30 cents and lost a lifetime GE buyer in the process.

GE Profile dishwashers have a weak point, every one fails in 2-3 years. They have a rubber elbow you cannot buy on the pump motor that disintegrates and floods your home. Do some research before you buy. I wish I did.

GE is the worst company I have dealt with in many years. I purchased a dishwasher and within a few months it was not working. I contacted the store and they said to contact GE before the warranty (one year) was up. It was only about 6 months at the time. The service tech came out and told me to wash the dishes before you can use the dishwasher. There can be not even one piece of food. He pointed to a piece of corn in the dishwasher. I told him that was ridiculous and he did not seem to care. They did nothing for me and a consider this a rip-off directly from the manufacturer.

GE does not stand behind their warranty. Imagine, you have to wash the dishes thoroughly for the machine to work. It is not a dishwasher. I am the dishwasher. It is a dish-rinser. $800.00 and nothing I can do about this except tell everyone I know not to buy GE. I am a CFO for a property management company and GE just got removed from the approved appliance list. I cannot leave less than one star?

BUYER BEWARE! Purchased this dishwasher 2 years and 8 months ago because it had a 3rd drawer and was stainless steel inside. Paid almost $800.00 with the protection plan included. The 3rd door stopped working and it is under warranty. So I set up repair appointment and technician came and took pictures and left. Today I get a email saying repair denied because of rust. The technician told me there isn’t even a part that can be purchased, because the rust is on the interior bin. I would need a new bin. So basically don’t waste your money on a warranty, they know it will rust within 2 years and deny, deny, and deny all claims. SHAME ON GE, totally unacceptable!

GE had developed a terrible reputation some years ago for its appliances. I stayed away from them altogether for more than a decade. Then I thought I'd try again. So I bought a GE dishwasher for a rental property. The control panel failed within 2 years. The appliance repair service that replaced it said they go bad all the time. Turns out, I had 2 more GE dishwasher control panels fail within the span of 2 months (1 at the rental, 1 in the home I just move into, 1 at a rental property my father owned and I'm managing). I replaced the control panel. Then the door seal failed and the bottom washer arm failed. It's now 3 years old and headed for the landfill. And I'm back to my personal ban on GE appliances.

If you want a high maintenance dishwasher, this is the one for you. There is a filter in the bottom of the dishwasher that has to be cleaned out often or it stinks terribly. The plastic tub molds, having to be cleaned a couple times a week also. Mine won't turn off, luckily it's attached to a switch so I turn it off that way. GE appliances are no longer the quality products they used to be. I bought a GE microwave in March that's decided it's done.

This machine was decent while it worked but I won't buy a GE again. We got it because we loved the slate color...it went perfectly with our flooring and cabinets. Had one repair less than a year in for a leak that was coming from the door but it wasn't a big problem. Its cleaning was only mediocre and drying was worse. The control panel started to go a couple of months ago. After about every 2nd or 3rd wash, it goes out and we need to turn off the circuit breaker for about 5 minutes and then it works again. Now it's leaking from the center bottom. Looks like it's the diverter. It's not even six years old. I hoped to get at least 8-10 years out of a dishwasher. Our prior one lasted over 12 years (Maytag).

Had the water softener (GXSH40V01) product for less than 3 years. Started to fail, ER3 and tank would fill up with water. Flushed out tank (per GE direction), cleaned venturi filter (wasn't dirty at all). Restarted, worked for another month, back to same thing. So on 9/29/22 got a tech to look at, he & GE recommended I replace the control board (part 1039464084), which they sent free to my house ($200 for the tech though). Worked for about a month, or maybe a bit longer. Then ER3 and tank was full again (late 3/23). Had authorized repair come out. $170 said it was a o-ring. Work until about 7/23, then tank full of water again. Called GE 7/18/23, spoke with Nathan, he said I should replace the water heater and since it was out of warranty he said there is nothing he can do to help.

New one showed up much better condition. Installed and it's leaking from between the front stainless steel panel and the inside tub panel. Called GE 3 times they adjusted this and that... still leaks. What does a $1000 dishwasher from GE do while running the heavy cycle?? Slowly flood your kitchen... Wanting on GE rep to come out again... DO NOT EVER BUY A GE DISHWASHER. ONLY BUY: BOSCH OR BOSCH AFFILIATED BRANDS OR MIELE. July 22, 2022. How Many Visits does it take for a GE Repairman to Fix a GE Dishwasher? (Hint: More than 7 & Still Waiting!)

    I. The Problem: Our GE Dishwasher (Model No GDF610PSJ2SS) stopped working in February 2022. It just wouldn’t turn on. When we bought the dishwasher in March 2017, we smartly took advantage of GE’s Extended Warranty Opportunity under Service Protection Plus. We received a 6-year Extended Warranty in April 2017 from Assurant. As it says in the promo - “it is for peace of mind during the warranty.”

II. Steps Taken to Fix the Problem. Well, I am here to report that the “Extended Warranty” has turned into an “Extended Nightmare” and that “Peace of Mind” has long left the “Mind in Pieces”! Let me share what happened during the 7 Visits in Chronological Order:

    1. March 2022 : Support call placed to Assurant for a technician to fix the problem. Technician from their local provider shows up. Leaves saying he “needs to order a part”. (Won’t tell us what the problem is.)

    2. April 2022: The local provider calls to inform us the part has arrived and they need to set up an appointment. On the day of the appointment, he replaces the new part and announces that the Dishwasher is now working. Only problem, he hypothesizes, is there is no water flowing either way. So he leaves, telling us his job is done and we should get a Plumber.
    - We get a Plumber (cost:$150) to “fix” this problem. He demonstrates the water flowing into the dishwasher. No plumbing problem.

    - So, we get back to Assurant and the Local Provider saying the Plumbing is fine and the dishwasher is still not fixed!

    3. May 2022: The Technician comes in and tinkers around - Identical to Step 1 Above. Leaves saying he needs a part!

    4. June 2022: On the day of the appointment, he replaces the new part. Dishwasher still not working. Leaves saying he needs another part! (Mind you he won’t tell us what the issue is.)

    5. July 6, 2022: Same as 4. Leaves saying he needs another part!

    6. July 11, 2022: Same as 4. Leaves saying he needs yet another part!

    7. July 20, 2022: A slight twist. On the day of the appointment, a new technician arrives and replaces the new part. Dishwasher is still not working. Tells us he needs our wifi code. We refuse to give him. He says he cannot do this job. Puts everything back and leaves saying his boss will be in touch with us!

III. The Status. So, on Jul 21, 2022 we received an email from Assurant that due to the customer’s “non-cooperation with the technician on site” (note: this would be our refusal to give the wifi code) they are done repairing the Dishwasher and they would consider this job complete!

IV. HELP! What are we supposed to do? 7 visits and the GE Dishwasher is still not working. The GE I knew would “Bring Good Things to Life!”

My spouse and I purchased a GE Dry Boost Front Control 24-in Built-In Dishwasher (Stainless Steel) ENERGY STAR 50-Decibel 2 years ago. Recently, an internal small plastic piece broke that holds the funnel in place on the outside of the machine. The funnel allows water to drain from the hose to the inside of the dishwasher. This piece is about .1 millimeter wide and it holds a funnel in place that directs 30 + gallons of water to inside the dishwasher. The funnel came detached because the internal plastic piece broke. Water leaked behind the dishwasher and under my hardwood floors. This malfunction caused $8000+ worth of damage. I would not recommend a GE dishwasher because the parts a made cheaply and will break over time.

Have used GE dishwashers before - were good. However GE no longer makes them, it's just a name - now made by MABE (part of HAIER), Mexican with Chinese ownership, and this new one arrived with a factory fault - cracked tub which leaked immediately. "Cracked tub seam" and leak found immediately by service tech "GE"s site referred. Good news is the leak detector worked! Bad news - is we didn't install it right away (old one still worked and pandemic...) so it was a year before we got to it (was partly a gift). So - now MFR Mabe is giving us the run around and so far not doing anything about the faulty dishwasher they mfd and shipped through Home Depot. Don't be fooled as we were - "GE" is not actually GE anymore and the mfr HAIER/MABE are doing nothing to correct a factory mfg fault.

At one point it wouldn’t even turn on. They came and the wires melted together. It was installed by a professional. Now I’m worried it a fire hazard. I’ve had to leave work early each time. At times they have not shown up when they were supposed to or shown up when they are not supposed to. Every time you call you are on hold for at an hour. When you do get through they pass you on to someone else who doesn’t care or know what to do.

I've been told several times that should I get a new dishwasher after this many calls but I’m told by the service person that is not true. Also if the repair person deems it unrepairable can be replaced. The repair person said that’s not true. Now the it's out of warranty and they are trying to charge me for the service call. They offered to sell me a new dishwasher at a discounted price. Unbelievable! I’m at my wit's end and I’ve lost faith in GE

We have had it just over a month now and not only does it fail to get all of the dishes completely clean (even when run on heavy cycle) it NEVER dries even with the dry boost on. We never overload it or load it incorrectly and still there are dishes and utensils with food residue after it's done running which takes hours. I predict it will rust out in about five years (planned obsolescence). The only feature I'm happy with is that it is nearly silent. Not hearing it run helps to not remind me how much money we wasted.

But...I did register my new, never before installed dishwasher when it was installed October 2020. After install I ran it empty to test/clean it. IT LEAKED. I called GE to schedule repair. I was told it was manufactured in 2018 (another said 2019) and it was not under warranty. I explained I purchased it only a few months before and installation was delayed due to my contractors. They said I would have to pay for labor but the parts were covered under warranty. I didn't like it but agreed because I couldn't find the receipt (from a big box store).

Local repair people came, after 2 more calls, 3 weeks later and fixed the leak. They did not run or check if anything else was wrong with the dishwasher. I began using it and quickly realized that it did not get the dishes clean. It does not heat the water, it does not dry, it can't possibly sanitize without heat and kitchen installer said it was missing the kick plate. Geez!! And this is just the things I know!! I have called 4 times now to schedule a service repair, each time having to explained the whole thing, sit on hold, ask to speak to a supervisor, be transferred to customer service and 4 times I have been DISCONNECTED!!
