I had a townhome built from bottom-up. I was a first time home buyer so I wanted to make sure I had security. I decided to go with them due to their reviews and how Consumer Reports gave them a higher rating last year. Overall for Frontpoint, it works off the cellular, cell towers as well, so it’s more consistent. Everything has been really great with their customer service department and their product works well so far.
I did the installation of the system myself and it almost took me an hour, so it wasn’t that bad. I had to read the directions and get used to it, but it was detailed enough. I’m a computer and electronic savvy, so it wasn’t that hard for me. Having a smartphone made the installation a lot easier. I think anybody who didn’t have a smartphone, they would have a problem. Frontpoint's app helps you set everything up. But I also called them and reached out to them about one thing, and they were very helpful and handled it within five minutes.
The features offered are great, especially being able to monitor on your cellphone because a lot of other companies charge a lot more to do so. The working of the cellular in case the Wi-Fi went down in the house was a big plus. Being able to just do it from your smartphone made it a big plus as well. The only thing I wanted to do is get the touchscreen one for the main system box, but the one that I have now is fine already because I can do most of it on my smartphone anyways. I’ve been noticing that I’ve been using my phone more often, as they suggested. So to spend that extra money on a touchscreen wasn’t really needed. Since the installation of the Frontpoint system, I’m more knowledgeable about what’s going on in the house and I know where everything is.

I just moved out of the city into a suburban area and thought that Frontpoint would be a good choice for a security system. I felt like it was the better company at the auctions I looked up online. Installing the system took less than 10 minutes and the system's quality as well as its features are great. I like being able to use the app when I’m outside the home.
The only thing that wasn’t great is the contract because it’s expensive. I was gonna get the camera system with it, but I’m gonna stay with that because it is a little pricey. After moving here, I realized that the neighborhood is a comfortable neighborhood. I wanted to get a smaller package, something not as pricey, but it was already outside of my contract range, so I had a mistake with that. There should be a better variety of packaging. Other than that, I definitely feel safe with the system. I had a couple of incidents where I accidentally tripped the alarm by whether a company opening the door or forgetting to disarm it, and I like that it reacts fast.

I looked into a home security system since I went from a two-parent household to a one, and I wanted that extra security. The representatives at Frontpoint were helpful and super easy to deal with. My interactions with them were wonderful. I decided to go with a basic package and the installation was easy. Everything is working perfectly and I feel super safe. I would tell others to go ahead and give Frontpoint a try. They're easy, quick, simple and secure.

I was in the process of rehabilitating a property and as I start to put stuff into the house, I figured I needed to secure the property. I have Protect America on another property and they’re among the top leaders on security systems, but Frontpoint offered me a 60-day trial period. Also, I didn’t have to have internet service at the house in order to secure it. That was definitely a plus to me. In addition, in case a property is sold, the system is transferable if the buyer wants to keep it. Working with their sales have been very engaging and informative. I also worked with customer service when I had a breach I didn’t get an email or a phone call right away. I did reach out to customer service wanting to know why. They said that it was set up like that. So, they went back and did some checking and tweaks and then that resolved the issue. It is a good service and I would recommend them.

Because I live in a remote area, and I'm by myself, I purchased a home security system from Frontpoint. Their representatives were good. Frontpoint is a very nice system. It's very loud. It does give you a sense of security, and it was very easy to install. It took half an hour to do the installation. The features in my system are very nice. I'm very satisfied with them.

The reviews I’ve seen online were all very highly rated for Frontpoint. I just had the initial call when I did the set up and it was very thorough. I had a little bit of trouble with the glass break sensors, but other than that, it was pretty easy. The instructions are good. The system is good and has done what I expected to. It's also very easy to use. The cost is also competitive.

I've made a market survey and made the decision to go with Frontpoint. They are more straightforward in terms of the business model compared with other providers like ADT, which was one the one that I had before. I'm also happy with Frontpoint's customer service. I hope they keep the price as it is today and not getting those surprises as I had in the past with other providers. If they keep those promises alive, I'm okay.
I was the one who did the installation right and it was really easy. The installation and testing took an hour and since having Frontpoint in my home, I'm in my comfort zone right now. From what I'm using the system, it has fulfilled my expectation. I had one event where my housekeeper was not able to turn off the alarm system. I was abroad at that time and Frontpoint called me. I was able to make things work with no need for the police to come to my house. So it worked perfectly.

If you sign a contract with them and call back 20 mins later to cancel, they will bill you anyway and send the equipment. Then you'll have to ship it back, wait to get your refund, only to be told they're going to deduct the next month's premium and they'll have to refund that to you as well. Quick to take your money after you spoke with several agents about cancelling, but slow to give you your money back. Great customer service to reel you in, terrible once you try to cancel.
We appreciate you taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention. We are glad to see that you were able to speak with one of our Account Specialists and that they were able to address your concerns. I signed on with Frontpoint about 2.5 years ago and have wanted to cancel for about the last 2 years. The fee is expensive compared to other competitors and the contract locks you in for 3 years. An early termination requires you to pay the majority of the contract term immediately. If you like paying more and being locked in for years without options, then Frontpoint is great for you.

I have been a Frontpoint Customer for over a year after comparing them to Simplisafe and ADT because I could own the equipment and only signed a 1 year service contract. My contract which was up in November 2017, and I called to see if I could get a better rate on my service as I am now out of contract. I have been trying for more than two weeks to reach a customer service rep. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes, finally reached someone in Customer Service, and asked if he could help me. He put me on hold for another 20 minutes without helping me or getting back with me. I waited a few weeks, then called back, this time, choosing sales for new customers. I got through, but said she couldn't help me because I was an existing customer, and transferred me to Customer Service.
I have been hold for Customer Service now for 25 minutes. I left a call back number. No call back! Tech support (not customer service) had been great, and I could reach them originally to set up my system and when I had a faulty sensor, however alarm our has gone off twice, and we were home to turn it off. We didn't get a call or notification to see why it had gone off or notifying us. Stay away from Frontpoint! Once they have you as a customer, and are charging your card monthly, they seem to be in no hurry to help you with your plan or service. This has been my experience. I have no idea how they are getting 5 star ratings from others. I have no confidence that they care about their customers, and little confidence they will notify someone quickly or efficiently if my alarm goes off. What if it's a life emergency? Not good.
We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you have had with us. We would like the opportunity to look into your account and make this situation right. At your earliest convenience, could you please private message us with the name and address associated with your account? Thanks for your feedback and we hope to hear from you soon.

I've had Frontpoint for almost a year. I opted for the more expensive touch screen panel to control my home alarm. The Battery expanded after a few months of use. They sent me their lower panel as a replacement because the touch panel was discontinued by the manufacturer. The new panel they sent me didn't work, so I continued to use the touch panel. They sent me the new Hub control system, that was the touch panel replacement, which is NOT a touch panel, but rather a hub that's controlled by a number pad. The number pad provided had a faulty wire in it, so it didn't work either. I'm still using the touchpad with the expanded battery. I call them, they send me another replacement pad.
While this is all happening, they charge me $428 for not returning the touchpad. I call them again, they tell me why I got charged and to send back all the hardware that didn't work. I send them the hardware, they receive it, 6 days later still no refund. I called AGAIN, they say the refund was not approved, and that it now has been approved. 9 days after the last call and still no refund.
I call them AGAIN the day after Christmas, and they say the approval did not happen on the last call like the last rep said it was. I get transferred to an account manager who tells me the refund had been denied because it was requested in the wrong amount, by them! He says he could now expedite the refund. I tried to cancel my contract with them and he tells me that he can do that, but I am responsible for paying the entire term of the contract. UNREAL!!! Please learn from my mistake and go with another, more reputable alarm company. Horrible hardware, horrible customer service, horrible contract terms. Not to mention the sensors that constantly give me false warnings.
Daniel, thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. It is important to us that your concerns are addressed and that you receive that refund so we are going to have one of our Escalation Specialists reach out to assist you. Thanks again and we look forward to speaking with you soon!

When we moved out of the area that our previous security company covered, we went with Frontpoint and got their system installed very easily. All the instructions that came with the equipment made sense and there wasn't any step that I was not really sure about. I was also able to order the specific pieces of equipment that I wanted and everything works like I expected it to. I use their smartphone app for notification if there was an alarm, or sometimes, I would use it to activate or deactivate the alarm. We have smoke alarms and CO alarms set up and I have better peace of mind having those in. So, if something were to happen, I’d get a notification and know about it. I’d recommend Frontpoint.

I'm a widow and I didn’t feel secure by myself. I signed up with Frontpoint and they were very helpful. I told them how big my house was and they advised me what I needed to go over my windows and the different things. I didn’t know there was a three-year contract though. I found out later. But it was partly my fault because I was just thinking there wasn’t a contract. Nonetheless, I was very satisfied with the reps I dealt with. Then you do the installation yourself. But I have a niece who's an engineer and I let her go and have it all. She did it very quickly. I use the system now and I'm very satisfied. I would recommend Frontpoint.

I’ve been living at this location for over 11 years and I thought I needed to have some type of security system in place. I did a search to see what’s best recommended for home systems because the one in the office was ATT. I thought about a lot of it, and then I went with Frontpoint which seemed like it was much better. It was rated better by other consumers that use it and they didn’t have any type of complaints against them. Also,.I was satisfied with the cost. The representative was very good. We kicked it off pretty good. We spoke for a while, he explained to me and broke it down, and that was it. My brother installed the system and it went great. It only took him 15 minutes. I’d recommend Frontpoint.

When I forgot to turn the system off and walked out the door, it went off and their response time was good.

When I moved into the house that I was in, it already had a home security system but it wasn’t active. I looked at ADT and the prices were okay, but they offered the ability to do stuff on the phone for a higher price. Frontpoint answered any question I had pretty quickly. I was under the impression that I was gonna get one of those LCD monitors, but it came with a regular punch-in code one. But the features are all pretty helpful and everything's good. The reps told me that my front door lock system would work with their system, but they were under the impression that I had something that was the same model. Mine might have been like a generation off. But it's one of those things like you just have to buy into their whole thing if you want to be fully secured through their thing.
The equipment works great. I get a text message when there's a power outage. Otherwise I would have no idea that the power's out. For instance, I had somebody living with me for a month or two and one time the power went out, and I was like, "Hey, don’t open the fridge." It's pretty neat. There were a few times where I would open the door and forget that the system is on. But then Frontpoint would call and do that whole routine. If it was 25% cheaper than it is to do add-ons, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat. It's not that I don’t have the money to buy all the stuff that I would want, but it's just buying it all at once. I have a lock system which is not synched with my Frontpoint system but putting that altogether and then switching everything over to theirs is just the expensive part.

I was gonna get a new home and I was using Frontpoint to be able to secure the building during the time we were doing construction and then have something to offer the individual who would be renting the premises afterwards. I chose Frontpoint after doing research. It seemed as though I would be able to place all of the components and activate the system with the support that was available without having to schedule any installation. I received the box that contained all of the components, went through the house, installed the components and using my cellphone, was able to ensure that the components were communicating with the hub. Then I made a phone call to Frontpoint to have them activate and verify that the system was functioning properly. For the most part, the installation was fairly straightforward.
The instructions were fairly simple and the videos were really valuable. Essentially, once you've watched the video, you would have an idea of what you need to do. It was a cookbook type of going from A to B, C, D, and then let the system come online. However, there are some sensors that would require a little bit more finesse than others, depending on the type of door you have. I had to drill one into the door because the door was inset and it would not allow for any kind of adhesive attachment. But I’m a woodworker and there was no problem with that. I’ve also had a number of communications with Frontpoint and those have always been very positive and helpful.
The features are fairly good for the value that you get for the package. One of the concerns that I had initially when I purchased the package was about the touchscreen display that was being offered at the time. This touchscreen display was really what I was looking for and it sold me on the Frontpoint system because it worked pretty much like an iPad. Unfortunately, with some of the construction we had there, the pad failed to communicate with the sensors at one point and went completely dead.
When I spoke to Frontpoint, they did an evaluation but they said there was nothing that they could do. Unfortunately, they didn’t make that touchscreen display anymore. They were having some problems with it based on the battery that was being installed and some of them would overheat and melt. I was a little bit dismayed when they told me that I would have to set it back in and then get a non-touchscreen hub that would be utilized with a keypad.
So what I did was I told them I would communicate with them later. I unplugged the unit and it completely drained for 24 hours. I re-plugged with an electrical spike arrester with a filter and as soon as I did that, it worked flawlessly. It hasn’t come back up with some other problems with me ever since either. So that was a bit of a diagnostic snafu. With the construction that was being done in the home, we may have had some kind of electrical charge which created a little burn that messed with it at first.
I don’t know how Frontpoint would have known any better from a diagnostic standpoint. However, if I had gone to the non-touchscreen hub, they would have created a little bit of an issue with me because that’s not exactly the system that I wanted. If they had swapped it with a keypad and altered the subscription, I'd probably not do it. That’s how strongly I feel about the touchscreen display. On the other hand, I think that the system is hardening sufficiently to different types of electromagnetic interference that can be utilized from fusion. In other words, there is some kind of electric field on all of the other systems that you can pull into not sending an alarm. You basically send a carrier signal that tells the system that it didn’t activate and you open the door.
I also like the security of knowing that with Frontpoint, you can be in bed and if you don't remember if you locked the front door, you can pick up your cellphone and do it. That’s a little bit more secure. If you have work and you have a kid coming home, you also get a signal that the door was opened and closed. You can even see if somebody kept the window open in the basement. So the system is really well-functioning. It’s ergonomically superior than other systems I’ve seen. It’s intuitive and also expandable. I also like the idea that if any of the sensors go bad, Frontpoint would replace them.

I encountered a couple of small issues during the installation but Frontpoint was quick to answer the phone and they helped me through those. That aside, the installation went really easily. I use the smartphone features but I'd like a little bit more customization, like being able to set which sensors are working in the different arming modes. That would be awesome. We switched to Frontpoint and we've had no issues so far. My wife did everything as far as the setup and she had a good experience. We get notifications if we forget to turn the alarm, which is really nice to have. We might have been able to set that up with ADT, though we shouldn’t be the ones that have to dig for it. We wanted a security system as a preventative measure and when I did my research, Frontpoint came up as a good option. It's been about a year and a half now and it's been good thus far. The equipment is a little expensive so I don’t like that. But the installation was fairly easy although there is one thing that I wish was a little better. We've been having a running issue with our panel saying it has low battery. We had called about it and we were on the phone for quite some time with customer service. But they couldn't figure out what it is and the panel still does it. That's the only thing with the equipment that has not gone smoothly. But other than that, we've been really happy with it.
On the other hand, the system has gone off but we have never gotten a call verifying that everything was okay. So that's a little concerning. Usually, it was like someone had put in the wrong code or it was delayed so it hasn’t gone off for a true emergency. But before I had signed up for the text alert, we had gotten email. That aside, our interactions with the representatives have all been positive. Our experience hasn’t been seamless overall but it's been good and I would recommend Frontpoint.

Other than that, for what I'm paying, I'm expecting something like a video system. My neighbor, who has a home security system that is a competitor of Frontpoint is offering the video option for the same price that I am paying. It's like my friend can actually monitor from either work or through his phone on what is happening with the system. So I bought into the coolness of the wireless technology and the strong marketing behind Frontpoint. I will say their technology is good. It's not 'quite' as easy as they say to install, but after some frustration I got it figured out with the help of their phone technicians. Where things went bad is when I moved. And I knew I might be moving when I signed the contract. The sales guy 'assured' me that getting out of my contract wouldn't be a problem and I'd just need to explain the situation to the client support team. My bad for signing the contract anyway without this spelled out. I should know better. The system is portable and I could have taken it with me and set it up in my new location.
However, there was already a built in system system and I had no need of Frontpoint's any longer. It was a very rational request, however the client support agent wouldn't budge at all - barely even acknowledged my plight. Just spouted the nearly $800 I was going to have to pay to get out of my contract. I even asked if they could listen to the recording of the sales call so we could all be on the same page on exactly what was said. He said they don't keep recordings past 6 months. Now, why would a company that sells 3-year contracts not keep recordings that long?? Seems to be they are re-enforcing if not actually encouraging the sales team behavior. That did it for me. It was worth the money to get away from a company that I couldn't trust and you shouldn't either.

I was looking for an alarm system for our small company so I looked online. I personally have a Protect America on my own. But then, the price of Frontpoint, for the company, was cheaper than Protect America so I went that way. The sales reps were all really friendly. I had a little trouble with the order though. I said that it was a roll-up door, but they sent me the sensor for an overhead door. I was also expecting a little bit more steady glue for the sensor on the door. Other than those, everything is good.
We installed everything first, and then we followed the instruction. It said to call the support line once everything was installed. We did that and then everything was smooth. It's working fine. The camera view and the on and off button of the system are good. The thing that I like about the system is I was able to give every technician their own code to get in, so I know exactly when and who is coming in with their own code without getting any trouble. It's also good to have a security system that would allow me to see inside my office if the alarm comes on.

But I had a power outage at home the other day and I thought they would call later in the day saying there was a power outage and maybe the alarm went off because of it. I would have appreciated a phone call, but I received an email. Maybe they understood it was an outage and not someone breaking in. I also have their app and I use it every day. It works great. I would absolutely recommend Frontpoint. The cost is fair and better than ADT's and other places out there.

Around my house are some new construction. I installed a home security system and Frontpoint's software expert guided me with everything. I also checked with a phone app that guides you step-by-step and it was good. However, one disadvantage I see is my kids keeps pulling off those sensors that I stick on my windows. They're like a peel-and-stick thing and I was never able to put them back. There should be something like a removable and replaceable thing, like some kind of a zip or like that material on your pocket. If that’s the one, I can always put it back even if they take it out. Also, the cost should be 20% lesser than what I’m paying now since it’s a three-year commitment. We use the app and it's very good. it will immediately lock if you open a door. The quality makes me feel a lot safer and I feel safe even if I’m leaving the home.

I moved into a new house. The prior owner had Frontpoint so I just went with it. I ended up purchasing another system because apparently, I was not able to continue using with the one that I had. I called and the customer service rep said that the system was too old so he sold me a new one and he was very professional. I installed the system by myself and it was pretty good. The instructions were easy to follow. I use the smartphone features and I have had no problems. The overall functionality of the system works well. The cost is reasonable too, but there are others that are cheaper although I don’t know the quality.

I looked at Frontpoint’s reviews and some of their customers were satisfied. Then when I spoke with their representatives, the customer service was great. They walked me through everything. But Frontpoint's monthly monitoring fee seems pricey. I would like them to give their existing customers some discounts here and there, especially on new equipment. It could be for the existing customers who have been with them for a while, are current and up to date. They should also look up for their customers sometimes. They could give a little bag or a T-shirt. On the other hand, the system's installation was simple.

Frontpoint was a little cheaper than the other companies, and the system was pretty easy to install. We just plugged it in and then put little sensors on. But the unit looks like it's pretty outdated, and it's a bulky thing that has to sit on the counter. The quality is okay, but for what you get, it could be cheaper.

I wanted peace of mind at night and it helps to know when my door is open and closed. I liked that with Frontpoint, I can take my system with me wherever I go. Their reps were very respectful, answered all my questions and were patient when I called back several times. I received the system in the mail, and then they had this app and they just entered it into your system and you enter it on your phone. It told me which doors and windows and the different parts were peel-and-stick. A couple of them didn’t match up, so that took a little bit. There were some things that weren’t crystal clear, but if you have a question, you can call the staff there and they also had that video that you can watch. The app also has that, “Well, if this stuff didn’t work, go back and do it again,” which worked out really well.
The installation took an hour. The only hard part was the doorbell one. We have a recessed doorbell which was from the 1980s so it was hard to put that with the system. All of the features were really good. There were a couple things like if you want to up it or wanted more things, you could. Also, the smartphone features are amazing. When I'm in a different state and somebody pushed my doorbell, I could talk to that person, which was the bomb. Plus, we had somebody mowing out lawn when we were away, so I could actually look out my front door, and I would be like, “Oh, he’s mowing the grass today.”
Overall, the system is functional and everything is working out pretty good. When I’m already at the house I usually just arm and disarm it from my phone instead of doing things from the actual box. Before, I double check everything. Now, if I forget to lock the back door or forget to set it for the night, I would know if somebody came in with the little beep-beep sound that goes off.

We were looking for a home security system because we were getting ready to go on vacation. I was doing some research, and I liked what I saw with Frontpoint so I called them up. We got everything set up, and it worked great. It was all self-contained wireless. It didn’t have to go through hard line or an internet service. We had a security system when we first moved into the house in 2001. We had a provider that it was all hard-wired in and had to go through a phone line, and we weren’t happy with that service at all.
And it was an entirely pleasant experience with their rep. He didn’t try to push anything on us. He explained how the system worked, the cost and found us some good deals. We didn’t buy anything more than what we needed. The installation was also very smooth. It took 45 minutes to install the entire system, including the camera.
The features that we had on our system had four doors -- the main entrance, the mud room entrance and two sliding doors. And then we had two motion sensors to cover the rest of the house. We didn’t get any window breakage sensors or any window opening sensors because those areas would be covered by the camera and motion sensors. I have a different password for every member of the family so they can come and go as they please, and they can start the system as they go out the door, and there had been no problems at all.

We decided to purchase a security system when we had the house broken into. We have been upgrading everything and someone took notice of that and broke in just when we were done. I did some research on some of the cheaper options or best companies and Frontpoint was one of the Top 2 that I was able to find. We discussed what we needed to them which they did and they were able to customize the package.
I also did the installation of the system and it was pretty easy. The instructions with the box and how it was layered were good. Although I wished they would have technicians if I needed help with an installation. We were having some problems with one of our sensors when the cat tripped at them off of a piece of furniture. Nevertheless, the quality of this system is pretty good and it's cheaper than my system. In addition, their app just got updated recently and it got a little easier to use. Me and her daughter that lives in the house use the smartphone feature exclusively.

I bought a home and purchased Frontpoint as a home security system. I had a busted panel and it was a whole ordeal to kinda get it back. Also, I don’t think I was offered any kind of discount. I started talking to people and talking about the negative experience and then they said they only pay $15 or $20 a month. And I’m paying 70 bucks a month and I don’t even use it very often. It's way too expensive compared to the other options, but I’ve been too lazy to switch it.
I don’t know why it’s so expensive. I don’t find it as good. I’ve had the alarm go off and no one even called me. I didn’t even get a warning. I don’t even know what package I’m signed up for, but I’m not even getting monitoring because it went off about a month and a half ago and there was nothing. I haven’t had the time to think about it, but I plan on canceling this once I figured out how to connect the locks. I use the locks through my iPhone and I use everything through the Frontpoint app, but I don’t know how to use my sluggish app to connect the lock, so I gotta figure that out before I could cancel Frontpoint.

The home security system that I had previously was too expensive. One of my friends’ son who was a sales rep up in Northern Virginia, DC area recommended Frontpoint. I did my research online and the cost was good so I thought I’d give it a try. The sales interaction we had was good, but I had a problem with the installation because the system was wireless to some extent and I didn’t have the expertise to drill holes and run wires through walls. I didn’t quite consider that I had to install it myself.
It was advertised as a box that would come in the mail and I just set it up but I had to have some knowledge of what to do. And during sales, it wasn’t clearly identified that I had to have the installation done by a professional. The system is not something that you just put into the wall and walk away. You have to mount it. I had my friend do it. I didn’t know if there’s a company nearby or a third party that does the installation for the company. The installation wasn’t difficult but it wasn’t clear that I had to run wires myself because if I want it in a place where there was no outlet, I had to extend the cabling, which I had to do. I also wanted to test my motion detector to make sure it was working so I called customer service and they told me that if the light was blinking, then it was activated.
Overall, I’m satisfied with what I have. The WiFi part of it where I used to scroll on the display screen about the weather was part of the 30-day trial but that should have been included with today’s technology. There’s no need to pay extra for that. Also, the alarm beeps like it’s supposed to but I haven’t had an opportunity to see what their response time is if there was a real live call. They should have some type of drill to see how fast the response is. Frontpoint should also do a routine service check to make sure everything is working properly before having to find out at the wrong time. I kept the old installation of my old system, so I have two of them as far as alerting me with door to windows or motion detection. Nonetheless, the Frontpoint system has enhanced my security level.

Canadian customers beware. I searched Frontpoint Alberta and an Alberta ad provided a contact number. The customer sales rep was very friendly and a smooth talker. He quoted costs that seemed reasonable as well as competitive and then kept lowering the price providing I made an immediate commitment. I bit. At no time was I told that the cost was being quoted in US funds. I saw the charge on my CC online statement within 2 days and realized it was much higher than I expected (due to the exchange rate). I immediately called customer service and was relieved that the alarm hardware had not yet been shipped. I was able to cancel the order before it left the warehouse. Long story short, It has now been a month with numerous phone calls, emails and faxes. A lot of time committed and no luck getting my refund. This is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. Do not let yourself be conned like I was.

I have the automatic payments come out of my credit card so it's pretty easy every month and I don't have to worry about it.
The system is doing a good job and being a homeowner, I feel secure with having it. The system has gone off and the response was good. I like that every door and window that I have it on beeps, so I know when people are coming and going. It's a good alarm system. But I wish the alarm was a little louder to hear it upstairs as we can barely hear it when it goes off. One night, my little brother opened the door and he didn't know I set the alarm. We didn't hear it upstairs, so we got a phone call. Other than that, I like that I can leave the door open and set it. I also like the smartphone features because I can see what is open and not, and when a person left the house and what time, because I have to check my son to see how long he took the dog out for a walk. I had a home security system but my ex-husband had it under his name. The alarm company was gonna charge us for an account transfer fee and there was a whole bunch of red tape. Plus, a friend of mine has Frontpoint. The interactions with their reps were all positive. I installed the system and it was okay. The instructions were easy too.
Frontpoint's features are great. I was surprised though because the motion detectors had to be so low to detect motion. I'm used to the ones that are tucked away in a corner but next to the ceiling. These needed to be at eye level and I wasn’t so impressed with that. I didn't really want these things in the middle of my walls. Other than that, everything else was good. The cost was very reasonable too. Plus, when one of the motion detectors came without batteries, they overnighted batteries to me. They were really good and took ownership of the situation.

Frontpoint was new at the time, and they had good rates and a good package that covered our whole home. We’ve had our share of false alarms and a few mishaps where we got locked out. Their customer service was good at helping us figure things out and solving a couple of crazy problems that we caused ourselves. When I called, I always got to talk to somebody.
The installation turned out a lot easier than I expected. I should have read the directions a little sooner but once I got the service department online to make the system go, it was easier than taking everything down just to keep running from floor to floor and sensor to sensor to make sure that everything was hooked up correctly. It would be nice to have an indoor or outdoor camera included without having to pay quite a bit of extra for them. Other than that, the motion sensors and window, door sensors and everything was easy to place and we never had problems with any of them.
The residence we had with the Frontpoint system was just sold and we left the sensors and everything behind. It was nice to know when the realtors and prospective buyers were going in and out because we could see it on our phone every time somebody disarmed or rearmed. We had the camera where we could watch who was coming in and who was leaving. It has been four months that we were not living there and it was nice to have an alarm system so we didn’t have to worry about somebody going in and trashing things up.
The monthly fee of Frontpoint is higher than most compared to systems that are out there and now that they are more successful, I would have expected it to come down. Instead, it’s going up. It’s not a good idea for marketing on their part. I had it on a vacation home and bought it to my current home and then, we were in between homes for eight months when we were renovating so, we kept Frontpoint there. I put a new system in where I’m at now because it was cheaper to bring it in and let Frontpoint go. If things were different, I would have kept Frontpoint because when I had it, I was very satisfied with it but they out-priced themselves.

Their reps were very helpful, they directed me how to install the system when I had problems and they had some little gifts at the end. I told them at the beginning that I have four windows but I actually have five and they just gave me three extras. I only did the alert when anyone opens my window or door and so far, it's good. However, I was a little disappointed with the app, because one thing I wanna do is to be able to arm the system for no entry delay on system away, and you can't do that. So I actually have a rep go in and reset my stay settings to where it pretty much acts like in away setting, but that way I don't have any entry delay. My Husband and I both left work to drive home to see for ourselves what was going on. If I had had any inkling that this was the way they were going to monitor and notify me of a breach, I NEVER would have purchased. We needed some kind of security on a location that we don't live at for peace of mind. I did a little bit of online internet research for different places. One is without the app and one is with the app. I've got it without the app, which basically if something happens, they can call you. But it would be nice with my service to know what particular sensor tripped off the alarm.
Other than that, the experience is pretty good. It's monitored online, so when one of the sensors goes off, they call. And they're very good about calling and asking if I would like for the police to come out or not. It has worked for all the times that we've had issues. Also, our peace of mind and sense of security are a lot better. Without any security alarm, you have no idea what could be happening out there. Now, at least, I know if something's moving in the house or if a door is opening.

The instructions that came with the equipment were fine, but I preferred to do it over the phone.
My experience with their customer service team, however, has been a hit or miss. Some were really good, thorough and exceptional at their jobs, while others were probably just starting and weren’t really good at the whole customer service experience. I had an issue where I had to speak to a supervisor because one individual who I spoke to wasn’t too clear on the information he provided me. So, it was more about understanding the product they're selling, but nothing more than that. Everyone was certainly very pleasant over the phone.
Frontpoint also has an incredibly useful app which I use everyday. I disarm the system through it. It prompts me when a door or window is left open for ample period of time. The app is fantastic. It's been the most beneficial part of the alarm aside from keeping the home safe. And it is a good alarm system, but I think the pricing scheme could be done better. The components that come with it, the door alarms, window break sensors, etc, are comparable to everyone else in the market and they can be priced a little bit better - except that Frontpoint offers video camcorder service that’s of high quality. This is really unfair however I guess I do not have a choice because I ended up signing the contract. Please please please read through the contract. Frontpoint folks can easily mislead people.
We were very surprised to read the details of your review as they are far from the quality of service we aim to provide our customers. Frontpoint was the first home security company I talked to and I went with them. The customer service seemed really good. I was on the phone with them and they asked me what I needed. They made up a package for me and they sent it out. I hooked everything up and the installation was very easy. I just looked at the directions, screw it up, turn it on, and over with. I have all the doors on a beeper and I have 3 motion detectors, and everything works well. I replaced my back door and I had to order another part. I also just got the app since we're going away this month. Everything seems to be good quality and so far, so good. Also, the cost seemed very fair. The alarm went off a few times and they called me. They seemed very alert when the alarm goes off and seemed to be on the ball with everything. Frontpoint is a quality outfit and I've been happy with them.

We've always had a security system. We wanted to go wireless and ended up with Frontpoint. We purchased a home that was already set up with them, so it was an easy transition. Most of the salespeople have been great. I've talked to Tina the most and she has done a great job. I did the system installation myself and the instructions were made to sound easier than they are. The installation wasn’t difficult, though, once we figured out what was active and what wasn’t active.
As far as the capabilities of the system, everything seems to be working fine. It gives you an opportunity to automate the entire location. But I wish the cameras were a little more affordable. They were a little bit expensive, and they definitely rely on and react to your network and the capabilities of your network which is not always very clear. Also, I was disappointed about the additional panel that has the prompts when an opening is breached. Other than that, the system has been good. It seems to be holding up well. I use the phone features every day and most of the time, they work really well. But every once in a while, there is a little bit of a delay in the network connecting the system.

My Frontpoint installation was easy. I just threw it on the wall where I needed it and snugged it up. At first, it wasn’t working and I called. I was receiving these alarms, and I had to open it up and connect the wire that got loose. Everything was set up good. The alarm went off twice and Frontpoint called. One time, my wife forgot to set the system and she left the house really quick. The cops came 10 minutes after she gave them the wrong name or password, but it was all good. They have done great. I got the fire monitor up so if anything happens while we’re gone, it's good to know as far as the house catching on fire or anything.
I customized my Frontpoint package as much as I could. I got the glass break sensors but I haven't been able to test those out. I was told that with a light clap, it’d ring. I wish there was a way to be able to test those with the alarm systems for sure like if they would work as far as distance and all that goes from wherever a window is. That'd be nice. Also, Frontpoint doesn't do 24-7 as far as cameras go. That may not a big concern to me, but it may be for somebody else.
Other than those, the system is really easy to use and Frontpoint has always helped out when I needed to call and talk to them. I love their app too. I like that it shows you pretty much right away the activity that is going on and if you've got stuff opened or closed. If we forget to set the system, we can get on our phones instead while we’re out. It has worked every time so that’s awesome. With Frontpoint, we feel a lot more comfortable. We feel better when we go to sleep. When I leave, I know my shed and my house are protected. I'd know if anybody broke in. If the system was messed up and the alarm went off too long, customer service would call us.

I purchased the Frontpoint system for my business and it's been going really well. I did the installation myself and apparently, my son likes to get involved so he helped me with it. Between the two of us, we got it sorted out. It was easy. The representatives there are amazing as well. From 1 to 10, they’re 10. In the summer, before I was spending too much time in that space, I didn’t run the air conditioner while I wasn’t there and it gets pretty warm in that building. It got so hot that the glue melted off of one of the glass break sensors. It fell and when it hit the floor, it actually triggered the alarm as if the glass had been broken. The company called me and said that the glass break sensor had gone off. They asked whether I was there and what I wanted them to do. I told them to call Willows PD and have them roll a car. It was a weird way to test it but it worked and I thought that was pretty cool.
What Frontpoint is offering is the security aspect but they also have the ability to have the pendant. We had Life Alert for my mom several years ago when she was still alive and the customer service is very similar. The pricing is very similar as well and it seemed reasonable. Frontpoint can call if you fall and get hurt or if someone breaks in. You got a panic alert system. So I’m happy with them.

I switched to Frontpoint from Vector as I was looking for a system that would cost less and give me the same level of security for the most part. I got a really basic system and it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that I had but I'm making do without those. Opening my garage door is important to me so I have the keyless entry, and I use that because it only came with one panel.
Setting the system up was really easy, though I was a little concerned if I still had the level of protection that I had with my previously hardwired system. With Frontpoint, everything was connected, so by putting in the glass shatter devices and putting them at my door, I felt that it wasn’t adequate for what I need. But I haven't encountered any problem, so I kept the service. I get the email notifications if I haven't set my alarm. But when the alarm has gone off I don’t get a call. With Vector, if I had a false alarm and it went off, they would still check with me to make sure everything was okay. So now I would really like to have notification when I could be under distress.
I called Frontpoint when I had some problems with the equipment and picking up the sensors, and their reps were very knowledgeable. They took me through some diagnostic things to try to troubleshoot the issue. When we were not able to troubleshoot the issue, they sent a replacement device, and gave me the package to send the old device back. I really liked the level of customer service and how they quickly responded to my issue, and it was resolved very quickly. So, I really enjoyed that experience.
I was gonna cancel my service because I didn’t think it was the level of security that I was comfortable with. But I spoke to one of the sales associates and that's how I ended up with that keyless device. So, my husband and I wouldn't have to keep running up and down the stairs if we needed to enter our code into the system or to turn it on. They were very helpful and gave me that device at a discounted price for me to try for an introductory period. I really like their sales and support area because that's what was missing with my previous provider and ultimately led me to no longer do business with that company. But as for Frontpoint, I have recommended them to a friend, so we now have the same system and she has had a positive experience as well.

I called Frontpoint and the guy who answered the phone was really nice. He was kind and he wasn't, in any way, pressured. He had nice answers that were simple. Then, during the installation, we had the guy on the phone and that helped. He walked me through it and it was nice that he hung out on the phone as long he did until I got it all done. The installation took 45 minutes and I didn't even use the instructions because the guy on the phone did it for me. Also, the features are all good. We go on the app all the time and if I have a problem, they have addressed it immediately every time. As far as the equipment and stuff, everything is easy. The cost is a little bit high for the competitiveness that's out there. There is probably some different stuff out there that perhaps would be competitive and a little less. But I'm okay with the cost. It's not too expensive.

My family and I sold our house in November 2018 and before it sold, I spoke to a customer service representative at Frontpoint and told him that we wanted to cancel our service as we were moving out of our house and not sure when we would be moving into our next house. “Ryan” at Frontpoint tried to get me to put the account on hold until we reached our next house. I told him that we were pretty sure that we would be using Frontpoint again, but didn’t want to have our account on hold during that time - we would just begin a new account when we got into our next house. The conversation was left at that - the closing of our account. In early December, Frontpoint charged me for their services again...THREE TIMES. Not only did they charge me for services I had canceled, they triple-charged me! The company caught the error and refunded me 2 charges, but not the third.
I called and spoke with a nice representative on a Saturday in early December and she said she understood my frustration, but was unable to help me get my money back that day. She asked me to call back again on Monday and a representative would be happy to help me with our issue. On Monday, I called back and (after a 22-minute wait) got an “account specialist” (Justin?) who did not help at all. He told me that “Ryan” had put my alarm on hold and was scheduled to call me back next week. I told the “specialist” that wasn’t the case at all. I asked how it made sense for me to do that and continue paying for an alarm company after I moved out of the property. This “specialist” kept coming back to saying that “Ryan” stated it differently in his notes.
I asked for a supervisor and after another 5-minute hold, was told there was no supervisor available at that time, but he would call me back. The call ended when I finally hung up on the “specialist” as he continued to defend his associate’s (Ryan’s) act of not canceling my account. For a company that seems to pride itself on customer service, I found this incredibly surprising. All my interaction with FrontPoint customer service - aside from “Ryan” and “Justin” had been very positive up until I spoke with them. It is true that one bad experience with a CS representative can sour you on an entire company. Needless to say, Frontpoint will never be on any property that my family calls home again. And I’m still waiting for that callback from a supervisor...

I researched a bit about home security system then I looked at the pricing. I saw what Frontpoint was offering and it was all positive for them. I reached out to them through the chat feature on their website then I scheduled a call with them to go over the few things that I needed. They provided me some consultation in terms of giving the house customizations, the configuration that I had, and what will work best. They sent me some extra sensors so that once I was comfortable with the installation, I know how to use it and I would have some extra if I need to use it. Their rep also walked me through the set up and once the set up was done, we did a couple of tests to make sure that the alarm we set would come on and they are getting the signal.
Then, we had an accident when I was out of the house and the alarm tripped. I got a phone call right away and everything was taken care of. Moreover, I have the app that I can use. There are a few buttons to work through and I was able to set up my own codes. Also, I know that I have the smartphone features available where I can sync off two systems together. However, I have Frontpoint on both of my house locations and I suggest they have some way of dealing with multiple properties. I had to go through a bit of a set up there. I spoke to a person who told me that it is not straightforward and a few things had to done. I am happy though with the cost of the system in relation to its quality. I know I have it there and it gives me the insurance.

We wanted a wireless system this time so that we could secure the detached garage that we had. I called and talked to all the major players that had wireless systems that fitted our needs and Frontpoint had the best answers to my questions. Their reps knew more technical specifications than the other people I talked to. I’m an ex-engineer, so I like hearing how things work and they were a lot better at answering those kind of questions for me. The three people that I dealt with were exceptional in their understanding. They really understood the system well. It took me about 20 minutes to install a dozen sensors and get it up and running. It was really easy. I knew what I needed in the system although I’m thinking about adding to it. I see a couple of things that might cause some holes that I didn’t anticipate before.
So far, the quality of the equipment has been great. I’ve had it for a few months now and I haven’t had any failed sensors nor false readings. Every time something happens, they’re quick to get in touch with me and call the police and whatever else needs to be done. They’ve done everything that they advertised. The smartphone feature was one of the reasons I purchased Frontpoint so that when my wife leaves the house, I can arm it remotely. Everything works great and the detached garage is secured now.

I liked the cameras on Frontpoint's system as well as the fact that their system is self-installed and so I decided to get a system from them. Installing it was simple to do and if I needed help, I could call and a technician would help me through it. My internet froze when I was doing the installation and the guy I talked to was patient and took me through it step-by-step. What I really like about the system that I have is that if I'm gone and my daughter is in my house with the kids, I could go on the camera, talk to them and check in to make sure everything is okay. I could also look back on my camera if I'm not at home. I also liked the part where Frontpoint upgraded the system and it lets me know if a door is opened or closed even though I'm not there.

My previous home security providers' hardware and equipment were a lot better. I have a lot of difficulties with Frontpoint's, so I'm not necessarily satisfied with the actual master keypad and how it works. It was self-install kit, so I had to install all of it on my own. I had to call a few times to get assistance with the installation process. Then sometimes, it would go offline and lose power which is alarming. I've called for assistance and they told me to unplug and replug it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I had a lot of issues and was never able to properly connect my motion sensor, so basically I don't have one inside my home. I also have a security camera that I wasn't able to connect to the system. They tried to assist me as best as they could, however I never had a technician or anyone physically come out to my residence. But other than that, their customer service was great. Any time that the alarm had gone off, they were very quick to call in.
Nevertheless, Frontpoint should consider upgrading the type of software and hardware they're utilizing to better compete with other organizations or companies, 'cause I'm looking to switch because of that. And the pricing difference from others is not that much more than Frontpoint's. I wouldn't mind paying a few extra bucks if I had another hardware.

So I told her to get a system like this because they will tell you when a door or a windows open and what time. That's usually how I set it. I would set it like stay at home or stay away. The alarm went off this morning because I went outside and my husband forgot to disarm it. I just closed the app on my computer and I was looking online on my app on my phone. Cameras seem pretty good. However, since they're plugged in, if anybody’s gonna come in, they could just unplug them from outside. That’s not a real good feature. I didn’t get the wireless cameras because we have issues with the wireless in our house but if I ever moved, I would get them. When I was applying to get the system and get the account going, I talked to their reps and our interactions had been good. But I've noticed a couple of issues with the alarm system. When I set the alarm, it normally beeps twice but sometimes it will beep six times. There are also times where there is an open door then the alarm system will tell me which door it is, but I don’t understand why it sometimes randomly beeps. I've had a home security system for 15 years, several different companies, and I was tired of paying somebody else to basically rent their equipment that wasn't reliably working. With Frontpoint, we own our own equipment and just pay for the monitoring. We can also add on or modify, do whatever we wanna do, and it's still cheaper than paying somebody else to rent old equipment. It's all mobile monitoring, so if somebody cuts our phone lines, we don't have to worry about the monitoring being ineffective. Frontpoint's customer service has always been excellent and the reps are extremely knowledgeable. They don't oversell you. They sell you exactly what you want, and you don't feel pressured.
My seven-year-old son helped me install the system. It was that easy. We have an older home, and the system still worked on all of our old windows. When we got new windows, all we did was pop them off and pop them on the new ones, and it was no big deal. I was able to customize my package to the number of doors, and the number of fire alarms and window sensors that I wanted. Our house has an extreme number of exterior doors, so we were able to not have to pay extra to have the doors monitored. We were able to get everything we wanted. We added on an additional monitor since we got the original package. It was shipped, it arrived, and we installed it within five minutes.
The quality of the security equipment is excellent and the cost is less than any of the big name brands that people think of off the top of their hat. We're still paying half of what we used to pay for extra monitoring and more equipment. We have three children, and I have a husband who works odd hours as a police officer. He's the ultimate skeptic, and he's very impressed with the Frontpoint system. We can monitor externally and we can unlock the door for my in-laws if they need to come over. The mobile monitoring is fantastic, up to date and it works. The GPS is also accurate. I can reach the end of the street and it'll alert me that I forgot to lock the house. It's great.

I previously lived in a condominium on a high-rise that didn't really require a home security service. But I moved to a house in an area that has a little bit more crime, so I decided to get one. Frontpoint had the best reviews online and they had no installation fees, so I went with them. I feel pretty good about Frontpoint. Thankfully, I hadn't had any issues where somebody has broken in but I feel confident that when I arm it and I'm not home, I'd be alerted if something were to happen.
The guy that helped me out when I started with them was very honest and gave me his opinions on other security systems out there. He also told me why Frontpoint was superior and was really informative. I asked him about the cameras and he was giving me information about that and gave me my best options. Then, when I installed the equipment, it took under an hour to do. The features of the system are good as well but the control pad can't be professionally mounted on your own and it's not flushed with the wall. You have to plug that keypad in and hang it yourself with the cord dangling below it and it's not aesthetically pleasing as some of the other keypads I've seen.
Aside from that, there's a downside about not having a Frontpoint technician come out to look at the actual house. You're going based off on verbal conversations and sometimes, it's hard to explain how the windows and rooms are situated in order to best apply a window breaking sensor or a motion sensor. To an extent, if you have a pretty relatively small house, it's easy to do. But if there's a floor plan complication, it's a little bit harder to explain where to put things. There's some disconnect between that versus somebody coming out and saying where your glass sensor breaker would be best put or that you're gonna need two or three to cover the amount of windows and space that you have. In my case, it seemed like there is some inconsistency, as far as how many were needed or where they needed to be placed in the house to be the most effective.

Frontpoint was very highly rated and it seemed like it was the time to make the plunge. Their customer service has been great. We had some issues on bringing some sensors online and taking them off and they’ve been very helpful.
One of the problems that I had was if I look at the window sensors and get certain windows that aren’t square. It sort of goes back to the fit in certain windows. There are two halves and there has to be a relationship between the two halves. It could be really hard to get a good relationship between the two halves. One of them went off so I would call that a false positive. I was a little hesitant to set the system, leave, and have it go off. Also, they replaced one of my motions sensors and it was a much newer model. I get the sense that they are upgrading their technology rapidly which leaves me with two years from now, I could have two-year-old technology. That bothers me a little bit. At some point, they need to say if there are any upgrades. Other than that, they let me customize the whole thing which is one thing I like about it. I also like the smartphone features and the cost seemed reasonable. It was what I expected.

I did the installation myself and with the documentation available, it was quite simple. The installation was thoroughly explained and the instructions were clear enough.
Everything seems great with the equipment. We had a problem with the first two panels that they sent us but they resolved both of those issues quickly. The smartphone features, which are what we primarily use, are also good and easy to understand. There's also a decent amount of options in terms of what you wanna do with your system. But, I was still a little disappointed that Frontpoint doesn't offer more integration with Google Home or Amazon’s features and other smart thermostats. That would be one drawback. But if you’re not specifically into smart home stuff, it’s not big of a deal. The cost seems fair and in line with the rest of the industry too. It feels nice to have Frontpoint's security system.

I find Frontpoint appealing as you're able to install it yourself and I thought that it was a better setup than the other company I was considering. Although I heard their service is lousy, I didn't mind trying to save some money if I could do the installation myself. It seemed like it fit some of the things I was looking for. The sales experience was fine and so was the service. The rep I worked with was helpful.
While the installation of the system worked out, I was frustrated that the alarm itself is quiet, and it only goes off inside the house. There's no easy way to add an outside horn to it that lets all the neighbors know that somebody's breaking in your house or you're being robbed. I thought I might be able to buy another one and talk to it wirelessly since everything is wireless, but that isn't the case. They said I had to upgrade to the more expensive panel and to do that, I needed the more expensive service, and I'm already unhappy with the $45 a month that I pay.
Still, when the alarm sets off, Frontpoint gets the notification and they call but it's just not that loud. It's an issue since my neighbors and I try to keep eyes on each other's houses if it looks like some commotion is going on. The cops take about 10 minutes for them to come over here. Other than that, Frontpoint gave me access to the mobile app, and I thought that was nice. What I didn't know is that it was only a temporary thing, a month later, it was cut off. They said that was an upgrade so it's like a little thing you have to pay more for. Plenty of irritation again. Still, Frontpoint's service is overall good.

Even though ADT could have came in and upgraded it, I wanted to try something new. I looked for the best system that's a little bit modern than ADT and Frontpoint gave me the best deal.
The customer service rep that I spoke with put the package together. He counted out the windows and was very knowledgeable. We went through everything and were on the phone for about 45 minutes. As he was talking to me, I was looking online at the products that they had. I was gonna buy anyway, but he narrowed things down to give me what I needed versus what I wanted. It was easy to customize for the small type of space that I needed versus if I was doing a larger home with upstairs and downstairs. I didn’t need a lot of the gadgets they need for what I needed to secure.
Installing the system was a piece of cake. The only thing I had to call them was just to do some activation and check some of the connectors. But everything worked like they said it would. It's a good system especially for the price point. One time, my contractor was working there and unplugged the system by accident. An alarm went off and Frontpoint called immediately. And as far as the wireless, I can open the door. So, they gave me a pretty good deal.

The sales pitch by Frontpoint was far better than ADT's. The guy who sold me on it on the phone did a good job. He actually nailed it. ADT wanted to put window alarms on but the Frontpoint guy told me that I wouldn't need all that. They did me right and that saved me a ton of money. I also considered what I read on the internet. Plus Frontpoint's pricing was right. I got the doorbell camera, two glass breakage sensors and two motion detectors, and the installation was easy. It did not take long at all. I had to patch holes but other than that, I had the system up in about two hours.
One thing that frustrates though is when we come down to the control panel in the morning. We turn the alarm system off but my phone tells me it’s still armed. But when we go outside, it’s fine. It doesn't sound the alarm. Does that mean the two aren’t communicating? But overall, the experience has been good so far. I have also called them up a couple of times with some questions and they have answered. The representatives were responsive. It was good.

I liked that Frontpoint is cellular and easy to install. My son-in-law did the installation and it only took him 20 minutes. I can also take the system with me and it is very user-friendly. The features are good and the quality of the system is excellent. I feel very secure now that I have Frontpoint. I’ve already suggested it to a couple people. Frontpoint has all kinds of features that you can have that will let you watch the house.

I had ADT before and I hated it. With Frontpoint, the user can set up their own security system and add stuff to it as they want. I did not have to pay $45 for a tech to come to do it, and setting it up was easy. The alarm has gone off a couple of times already, but I have not had any instances where Frontpoint called. So I do not know if they are either not monitoring or it is because we disabled the alarm within a timely manner. I also got double-charged last month. I got an email from them saying that that happened due to a glitch in their system. Nevertheless, quality-wise, the device is pretty good, and I would recommend it over ADT.

I chose Frontpoint due to their system's user-friendliness. Also, there were options available. I've had their system for almost a year now, and although the quality of the product is not the best, it's not bad. Their customer service has been good. We've always had a security system. When I looked at Frontpoint, it looked good and the value was good. I got everything that I wanted and I installed the system myself. It was very easy but I have 23 windows and 8 doors so that took a little time. I talked with their customer service mostly on the phone and online, and I've had a great experience with their rep. We had a few problems in the beginning but everything worked out well. I would recommend Frontpoint. I've had a good experience so far and everything has been good service.

We were having car break-ins in the neighborhood. We decided to set up a home security system and we went with Frontpoint. Their reps were very helpful and the installation went pretty well. We did it ourselves then my husband had Frontpoint's reps online. It wasn't fun climbing up into the attic, though. And when the little sticky things on the doors came unstuck, they sent us a whole new pack of them. We were thinking we'd just go buy some of that 3M tape but they told us that they'd ship one to us. Other than that, the cost of their service is equivalent to other carriers that we've looked at and so far, we have enjoyed Frontpoint. We also like the features of the system and we're debating on getting a few more.

Frontpoint came up on my computer and the price sounded right so we looked into it and we went with it and only did the doors and the motion sensors. My the interaction with their rep was very good. Since it was self-install, they mailed the instructions to me and then I called them, and they walked me through on how to set it up. The features and the quality of the equipment are good. I like the system's functionality and performance. Since it was installed, I have lot better security. I would recommend it.

I wasn’t happy before with ADT and I looked at prices and Frontpoint looked competitive. Their salesperson seemed very knowledgeable about everything. He went through the whole system with me and told me about the pricing and the way it would work. He was very helpful and gave me his phone number if there are any issues. He just seemed to have kind of left out that I had to get qualified later, but 80% of what he said and what he did was very true. There were a couple of little glitches that came later about the dog and about the motion detectors but their reps have been very helpful on the phone. They told me of a way I could work the system so that it would work for people but wouldn’t be upset by the dog.
As for the installation, I followed the online thing that they had on my phone and I called them about the directions. They also sent me something about what you need to go online. The directions were very simple. It was just a matter of putting the things on and testing with them. Their security system is much better than my previous one. It’s simpler, easier to operate, and it’s worked better. I just press one button and the whole thing activates. I press one button and put it in a code and it’s off. If I have a guest staying at the house, Frontpoint can temporarily give them a password and that worked very well. I had somebody stay at the house to take care of the dog a few months ago.
However, the garage is detached in the backyard and the transmitters that they sent me didn’t work. It’s supposed to work within 100 feet and they had to send me a heavier transmitter. I sent back the old ones and they sent me new ones which were more powerful because it was a distance away. Other than that, I'm very happy with the system. Our neighbors were broken into and I feel more secure with the system in place when we leave.

The customer service reps from Frontpoint were consultative in learning what my needs and concerns were at the moment and they tried to hammer that down as opposed to selling me a product. They were also helpful if I had any questions. We've been going through renovations and I haven’t been using it much. I'd like to have that unit right by my door but I don’t have an outlet anywhere near there. So right now, I'm leaving it on the floor but it seems functional and straightforward. However, there was miscommunication with regards to the pricing. What I was told and what was on the agreement was $45 all-in and I'm being charged $61. I even confirmed if it was in Canadian since they're a US company and she said yes. I called to compare to other guys to the rest of the market and other guys are paying $30. For better service, I would pay for $50 worth.

There was even one time that I was on the phone for a whole hour and they were very patient. Now that we have Frontpoint, I feel way secured that even when there are random cars up front, it's fine. I had a different security system prior to Frontpoint and I wanted to upgrade my system to a touchpad and a cellular connection rather than a hardwired Wi-Fi connection. The provider that I had was going to charge me several hundred dollars to upgrade my system. But Frontpoint afforded me the opportunity to do it at a very reasonable cost. I checked references and referred them with ratings and saw that Frontpoint is well-rated. The system is quite good too and we're pleased with it.
However, there's one issue though that I wish we could’ve avoided. I purchased the keychain remote hoping that we would be able to activate and deactivate the system from our driveway. But we have metal garage door openers. And even in the driveway, just outside the door with the door down, it wouldn’t work. We have to use the phone app in order to activate and deactivate the system. We’ve gotten used to it though. Other than that, when I've questions from time to time, I make a phone call and I’ve been able to get answers on the spot. There’s never been a delay or anything I perceived to be a confusing or incorrect answer. I recommend Frontpoint wholeheartedly.

I called on a Sunday evening 30 days into my contract. No one answered, closed. So I called Monday but still no rep available due to high call volume. Frontpoint would not replace the sensors and expect you to keep paying for a service you can no longer use. You can repurchase the sensors, but at $32.99/ea it's not worth it. Frontpoint is alright, but I definitely recommend not doing the contract. They will not stand behind you if you have to move or have any issues.

Frontpoint charged me 3 payments on an automatic withdraw and was negative in my account until 3 days later when I got paid. They did pay my overdraft charges but I expected more from them. 3 yrs is a long contract if you aren't happy with them. Pricier than most alarm companies but they do offer a wide range of equipment. Plus side. I pay $48 a month with just a front/back door sensor and 3 glass break sensors.

I have had the system now for six to eight months, and I haven't had any issues. I like that I don’t need a landline for the system to work. Compared to my previous provider, Frontpoint is much superior. It’s easy to use, more reliable, and less costly. Also, as a basic alarm system, it works much better. It will chime when I'm walking in. If once in a while I forget it, it reacts quickly and I don’t have to make any sort of phone call saying, “Hey, I made a mistake.” So, I’m very happy with the system. Also, since we're in a rental home, we couldn't drill any holes.
My husband installed the Frontpoint system and it was pretty straightforward. It took about 30 minutes in total and we had to go through a lot of sensors and extra things. We only needed to call for one thing that we were confused about, but it was easy for the most part. Our system has nine window sensors, two motion sensors, one glass break, and a standard panel. So, prevention would be the main thing and all I wanted was a loud noise in case something happens that would scare somebody and run off. It looks like that the reviews of Frontpoint are good. Price-wise, they are more competitive too.
Installing the system is easy with the placard and the instructions they gave me. It's just that some of the doors are harder because of the weatherstripping but other than that, it's pretty simple. So far, the system is of decent quality. The nice thing is you can take it off and not leave a hole in your door frame. However, I was trying to actually get out of my contract because the keypad only works from one room of my house. It's in the front office that everybody can see. Since it works there, they won't let me get out of my contract. In addition to that, we have a trial period and because it was a little late on the trial period, they wouldn't let me out. Also, a couple of the attachments for the doors have fallen off.
Because they're not lenient with getting out of a contract and also since we wanted to put the keypad in the middle of the home so we can get to it but we couldn't and because we had issues installing as far as the backing and the stuff that is coming off, I'm not happy with the service. People should try and give the system back to Frontpoint immediately if they don't like it.

There is some kind of smash protection feature where the alarm would still go out. Then if it goes off, it also immediately sends a text message to my phone. So I know something’s wrong. That's another thing I like about it. The system is worth the cost and I’m definitely glad I went with Frontpoint.

I always had a home security system. I was tired about the other company that I was with and switched to Frontpoint. It's been great so far. Every time I call, they answer my questions and everybody is very nice. I did the installation myself and it worked well. I just called customer service and they walked me through their whole process. It wasn't difficult and everything was very specific with the instructions. The installation was not even 15 minutes.
I wished there were more features though. I thought the carbon monoxide was included but it turned out it wasn't. But for what I'm paying, the features are okay. Like with the company that I had before, I had the option to control the system from my cellphone and I was able to use my old pad. The equipment has been working fine and has been very responsive. With my previous company, it's been like nothing happened. Every time my alarm will go off, it seemed like I have questioned so many times they weren't even monitoring my system. And with Frontpoint, they immediately tried to call me and they called the police and even came to my house once. Even though it was a false alarm, the police showed up right away.

Frontpoint should have more leniency on the contract. They installed the equipment while I was away on a business trip and a vacation, and when I came back, I was not impressed with how the sensors looked on the door. I was wanting a seamless look where I don’t see the sensors all over everywhere and having to set it up myself wasn’t exactly ideal. I was also not impressed with the overall experience, so I kept trying to cancel. But they said that I was passed my trial period. Also, I’m locked in for a three-year thing which I don’t remember reading as part of the contract. Other than that, their reps were professional and they tried to make it right by saying that they'd give me a couple of months free. There’s also nothing wrong with the actual security system itself. It'll notify me if for some reason there was a disconnect in service and it’s usually very brief.

I got a home security system from Frontpoint to protect my house. I installed the system and it was very easy. The instructions are very simple. The equipment is okay, but the alarm had gone off three times while we were out of the house working. Other than that, I use the smartphone features and they're very easy and simple to use. The cost and customer service are okay, too.

Somebody forced the window open and reached inside my house. So, I went ahead and bought Frontpoint's system on the recommendation of a friend. I called them, let them know I was interested, and I was connected to a sales associate who pitched me a contract in exchange for a discount on their devices. And I went with the package that I thought made the most sense at the time. Then Frontpoint mailed me a box and walked me through the install via the phone. So the installation was easy and the system was up in a couple of minutes. The instructions also made sense to me and weren't too hard.
I felt pretty good about how Frontpoint's reps handled my situation. They were pretty understanding and they have given me flexibility because at the time, I was in active duty in the military and I moved around a lot. So, they let me pause my subscription and canceled it at one point without paying any fees. Other than that, I like the features included in my package. I'm a renter and some of the features are best suited for homeowners because you can do a home automation. But all I'm really interested in is making sure that my home is safe from break-ins.
The smartphone features of the Frontpoint system is critical as well because I often forget to set the alarm, or I want to set or disarm it remotely. So, that was part of the reason I went with Frontpoint. And initially, I felt much more secure since I got the system. Then it kinda became normal. Qualitatively, the system works well most of the time for me. I've seen the price go up since I first subscribed but it's less than $60 a month, so it's not a major expense for me. I travel sometimes and it's just hard to put a price on knowing that your home is safe.

I used to have Spectrum and the prices on products have a major difference compared to Frontpoint. Buying the items that need to go in, being installed, are a big difference as well. The pricing on the monthly cost was just a little bit higher compared to Spectrum, but it’s worth it. I also have a lot of accounts that are business accounts. I own four businesses, and we use T9 Alarm, a local business in the area. They’re monthly cost was a lot lower than Frontpoint, but their rate for purchasing items like systems is astronomical.
I enjoyed Frontpoint. The only problem I had was a fire alarm that went off that I was on vacation on. Luckily I was on my way home that day. And my next door neighbor is a fire chief, so he didn't break down my door to go check and make sure there was no fires. But other than that, the service was great. I love what Frontpoint does. They are on the phone whenever I call and they help me out whenever I need it. I have recommended Frontpoint a lot already. I got one friend that was talking about going to ADT and I asked them to go check out Frontpoint.

Frontpoint was rated the highest in customer support and that was important for us. Also, knowing that we'd be able to get their system set up, we ended up going with them. It took us about three calls to get it all set up. We talked to the same person through the whole process and that was nice. I also had to call to sort out the insurance deduction and they sent over that form almost immediately.
The installation was self-service with them. We just used the app to do it and got the system set up in no more than 30 minutes. From start to finish, it was very easy. We had an issue, though, on figuring out why it wasn't initially connected, but it got solved on the first phone call. It turned out that it was because it went through a testing period.
We have one of Frontpoint's higher packages and it definitely seemed that, at minimum, it matched what the other sites and services were offering at the same price. But, it would've been nice if Frontpoint kinda separated the need for the webcam from the other stuff because we don't use any of the video. Other than that, I have confidence in the product. The app is also extremely useful which I use more than the actual interface on the security system. We feel great that we have Frontpoint installed and we have it every night. We live in a good neighborhood, but it's still nice to have the reassurance of any bumps in the night that nothing's there. I have recommended them to my friends.

We moved into a new locality and a new apartment. We decided to get a home security system and after I researched the reviews online, I found that Frontpoint had good customer satisfaction reviews. So, we went with them. The installation of the equipment was self-service and it was easy to install. The features are also fine, as per expectations. I have the app and I use that to arm and disarm. It's fairly simple to use. Since we got their service, we're having more comfort because we know that we're covered if there is any action that is happening. But so far, we haven't had any incident.
There have been a couple of times when, by mistake, we triggered off the alarm and I'm not sure as to what point does Frontpoint realize that it's not an accident and there's something that they should do at their end. Other than that, the cost is a sizable amount on a per month basis and there were some options for a longer term signup, which had a lower discount. But if I were to benchmark their price with the rest of the market, it seems fine.

I just moved to the area. I liked that Frontpoint has no credit score check because I don’t have a credit score. Their cost is fair and the installation was super easy to do. It took me minutes to do it. Everything works. But I don't like that the app is different from the box you have at your home. Things don’t have the same name so it's confusing sometimes. Also, it's impossible for you to turn on or off your alarm without it being noisy. When you turn it on, it says, "Disarm. Arm." Sometimes, I wish I could turn off the alarm when my wife is sleeping so that I can go out of the home. But every time I go, I'd have to wake her up. Other than that, having an alarm is better.

I have three accounts with Frontpoint and I like their app. I could have multiple locations on one app and I’m able to control all of those locations from my phone. The system was also self-install so it was very easy. Some of the other systems were not permanently mounted, where this one can be either not permanent or permanent. But I wanted it permanent because two of them are in businesses. Frontpoint pretty much offered everything and I was able to build my own packages. Their cost is reasonable and proportionate, too.
The sales side has been very good, as well as their customer service. Whenever I’ve had any technical questions, they’ve been very responsive and their tech support has been really well. I’ve been able to get on the phone with them and resolve any issues, mainly just on installing cameras that I’m not familiar with, and they’ve been able to walk me through it within a few minutes. I like that I get a call from them to make sure if there’s ever any alarm. Also, the smartphone features are great. We log in and look at our cameras, and we can see every move being made around them. Once you lock it down, you don’t have to worry until you get back. The installation was relatively easy. But it would have been better if they gave me more instructions on how and where to apply the sensors. Also, people should make sure that they got the billing correctly. I didn’t have any issues before, but this past time, they charged me three times in a row. They took out around 150 bucks, and I was only supposed to pay 50 bucks a month. It took them a few days to refund me the $100 which isn’t a huge deal, but I just don’t understand why it happened. You set up where you want in the app and you're good to go. It took me 20 minutes to stick everything up. Then, the rest was just me setting up all the letters and push notifications and learning how to use all the notifications which took longer because I was messing around with it and seeing what I could do. There's a lot you can do with the features, too, so that's pretty good. Currently, I need to get some sensors they sent me a while back but didn't show up. We are in a rural area and we've had some previous knowledge of intruders in homes in the area of the state. We’re isolated on the county road, there’s no one near us on either side. One night, we had a vehicle come in and just sit behind our house. We could see the vehicle because we have a security light on the pole behind the house. When I turned the carport light on, they immediately left. I found out later on that they were probably up to no good. So, we invested in a security system. We liked what we read from Frontpoint and the prices that were given to us, so we decided to go with them. We called the phone number that was given to us, and we had a good experience with the sales rep. He was very courteous and seemed to be very knowledgeable. He asked us questions, and we shared the answers with him. He made a recommendation on what we would probably be needing here and so, we invested in it.
We like the system but we did not get an operator’s manual. So we followed the instructions that was given to us via phone conversation that we had with the sales rep. By trial and error, we know how to disable it and how to re-able in the event that we needed to. But we’d have to get back to the company because we would love to have a manual. We also would love to learn more about the smartphone features. Nevertheless, we’re well-pleased with it. The system's operational and we've been using it. It does exactly what we wanted and expected it would do. It’s a wise investment but others would need to be sure to ask the sales representative to include an operator’s manual whenever he does send the package to them.

I had Brinks and ADT before when they were separate. Compared to them, Frontpoint is all wireless and self-install. I don't have to pay somebody to come out and charge me $100 to do what I can do, so that's a plus. I initially got the security system for deterrence when people see the stickers. And at least with the doors, I can see when somebody is coming in and out, so at least I know what's going on when. My interactions with Frontpoint's reps was seamless and good. And it took me 30 minutes to install the equipment. The instructions were dumbed down as they can get and they were pretty good.
So far, the cost and quality of the system are in line with each other. I have armed the system five times but now, I got too many people coming in and out of my house, and in fear of it accidentally going off, I don't use it. I also don't like the base station. I didn't know they offered two different base stations. They got one that's like a touchscreen tablet style and the other one is the traditional numbers pad which is what I got and it looks a little tacky. Also, they need to allow some more capabilities with other functions to link up withe their devices like Nest, Z-Wave, Arlo cameras, and IFTTT, the "If That, Then This," application. Other than that, Frontpoint is good to go.

Frontpoint was cheaper and then I found later that it was higher. I wanted to go with another provider that was a lot cheaper but once you’re in the contract, you better stay. When I called, I talked to a service rep and she quoted one thing and then, when I got the unit, it was totally different. When I got the bill, it was about as high as I was in ADT. I pay $49.50 a month because ADT has got all that, and I can call ADT on the phone right then and there and tell the system is not working and they'll have a representative tell you what you need to do at that point. It's easier and accessible with ADT, and it'll be a little bit more easier to call.
You gotta install it yourself. They tell you that you gotta do this and that and the direction's kinda hard. They should be very simple with the directions on how to operate and how to install. That thing's complicated. We had to go to the windows. A friend of mine did it but I don’t know whether it's set up right now or not. I've got the little camera set up. I had all of them separate and I don't know how to operate the thing.
You gotta go in the computer and type in a passcode to be able to look and see what’s happening in your house. I'd be going on to type a passcode in if somebody has broken in but I'm stuck with it. I can plug in the code, and the code is plugged in before we leave, and you hear a little beep sound and all that. I don’t know if someone tries to break in, whether that thing would even have an alarm and I don't know where we call the police or how it would be. I won't depend on it. I went to a national housing conference in Lancaster and I didn't know if it was even working or not. I should do away with it and get something else.

Everything I was told was correct.
The only thing I don’t like is that with the ones at the office, we have five cameras and I would like for it to be recording as much as possible any time there’s motion. It rained for two weeks solid and so it was steadily recording the rain, so I ran out of clips. I still had 10 days out of the months left, and I didn't have any clips and there was no way for me to add any, so that was really frustrating. I tried to lower the sensitivity level to the rain, but it still recorded. Also, I use the smartphone features all the time to view the video. It looks clear in the main picture, but it’s hard to zoom in on the small items or facial features sometimes. Still, it’s good to have Frontpoint while we’re not there.

Working with Shawn, the sales rep, was amazing. He explained everything, and it was a professional and friendly conversation. After I talked to him, there was no doubt, this is what we're going with. Installing the system was easy that we could do it ourselves. We didn't have to wait for someone to come and go and drill.
The features that we have are amazing, but I wish there was something that would alert you if someone is opening a window, and not just breaking the glass. The smartphone feature makes it easier to use, especially when I’m already in bed and I don't feel like going downstairs again just to turn the alarm on, I can tell Alexa to turn it on. The good thing is that you cannot tell Alexa to turn it off, because it's a safety issue. With the equipment they provide, Frontpoint is extremely cheap compared to other companies.
Having the Frontpoint makes me feel safer, it’s the only company that doesn't work on internet line, because the internet line is outside the house and you can just go there, cut the wire, and that's it. They don't have any alarm system anymore. So you can pay hundreds of dollars and feel secure, but it's so easy to manipulate and disarm.

Frontpoint has a better price compared to other providers and the system is good. However, the price of the new gadget that you buy along with it is too high. It’s cheaper if you go with somebody else unless you get the basic system. Having extra features is ridiculous because just so that I can look at my alarm online or just so that I can change the name of a sensor and make it a window sensor instead of kitchen window sensor for example, normally you can go online. If you don’t pay, they don’t give you that access online. That obviously doesn’t cost anything because it’s just the web.
You have to call in to make every change. It’s not costing them anything different. Having the ability to go online and make changes is a different plan per month which is absurd. Even simple changes, if you’re not in the plan but you pay a lot more per month, you cannot go online. The reason that I bought the system is because I could handle it online or on my phone. But now, I realized after I bought it that you need to call in, which cost them more because it’s a human but it’s a drag for the customer. I live in a gated community and I don’t really need the system. I’m not liking Frontpoint anymore and I feel a little tricked.

Frontpoint is terrible and it doesn’t work. I leave my house and I set the alarm by my phone, but it will tell me it timed out. One time, I left my house and got half a block away. I set it and it told me that the master bedroom window and the sliding glass door were open, although they were not. The sensors don’t work properly. Also, I was out of town last week and I tried to set the alarm every day, but it would tell me that the panel timed out. If I call Frontpoint, they say that they can't test the service or they can't help me unless I'm at home.
Then, when I had been home and I told them that it doesn’t work, they said, “Do you have AT&T? Oh, it's your cell phone, sir.” I've had things happen like I left the house at 7:00 AM and I get a text message at 7:45 AM saying somebody opened my front door. However, it was me leaving 45 minutes earlier, but I got the text 45 minutes later. I asked myself, “Well, did somebody open my front door right now or is this just a late response at the fact that I left?”
I went home from work a couple of times, but nobody was there and nobody opened it. I called Frontpoint and they said, “That’s your cell phone service. That’s your fault.” When I explained that it was not my fault, the guy on the phone said that I opened the door at 7:45, so they sent the alert right out. I said that I left at 7:00, but he always said that it was my cell phone. I have not been happy with Frontpoint. I'm usually out and around and that’s when I realized that the alarm doesn’t work. I call them, but they can't help me. It works great when I'm home, but it's an alarm that doesn’t really work when I'm not home. The reps were terrible, too. My only concern with Frontpoint is if they are getting the alarm when the door opens. We used to have ADT and they would call even if we cancel the alarm right away. With Frontpoint, every time the alarm goes off by mistake and we cancel it right away, we never get a call, so I don't know exactly the way they do it or if that's normal. I liked the reviews for Frontpoint and, after looking at what they offered and comparing prices, they were competitively priced and had more options. They aso have better flexibility on what I want to do. Installing the system wasn't difficult at all, but when adding items, I had to call customer support because the menu wasn't very user-friendly. It took 15 minutes, though, and once the system was set up, it was good. The reps were always happy to help me.
I was able to set an alarm on a separate part of my house, separate from the main alarm system, and I'm happy with it. Although it won't call the police, it will notify me if somebody went into that room and I can still use the rest of the house and not trigger the alarm. I will get notified when someone goes in there and I like that because I don't want kids to go into a room where they are not supposed to be in. However, I'd like the center console to be a bit more user-friendly. I have to go through a series of buttons, and in and out different menus and features. It's just too many steps to do something and I just use it for arming and disarming or I use the app on my phone. Other than that, Frontpoint has been great. The customer service reps are patient and willing to work with me over and over, and they sit there with me while I am fidgeting trying to do something. In prior times, the previous company had a representative come out and if I wanted additional coverage, they would take care of it and then made sure everything was set up properly. With Frontpoint, I had to take care of all of that myself, and I didn't appreciate that. If I had been a novice, it probably would have been difficult for me. Their customer service could have been more hands-on. Also, the equipment doesn’t seem to operate as friendly, and I’m not so sure about the coverage where I’m located. I had a much better system before where if you pressed on the windows, it went off. It was a more complete system and it had better coverage for the home. With Frontpoint, you'd have to open the window. It's functional for what it does, but the system I had prior to this did a better job for the money. The cost was favorable, but it’s not comparable to what I had before.

I got Frontpoint in a remote garage that I have to protect my assets. I read reviews and I liked Frontpoint's internet rating. Everything with the representatives at Frontpoint has been excellent so far. I'm impressed with their knowledge and customer friendliness. I did the installation of the Frontpoint system myself and it was easy. I got one dead battery right now and I had a motion sensor that's out, but I got it turned back on. Other than that, everything's still going smoothly and the quality of the system is good so far. The system functions very well. $45 a month is a little steep based upon what my neighbors are telling me, but I'm still willing to pay it at this point. I already have recommended Frontpoint.

I was looking at ADT and ADT was more expensive. Also, some of the other security companies like SimpliSafe seemed to have some security loopholes so I was avoiding those and I went with Frontpoint. My salesperson was very helpful. Also, I had to install the system in a very short amount of time and they were able to overnight me the system. I was able to get it installed very quickly. The one thing that I haven’t figured out if it’s available is somehow monitoring the extra sensors like the fire or smoke detector and the flood sensor. They seem to be working. I get a status for the motion detector and the door contacts but I don’t get any status on the smoke detector or the flood sensor. But the equipment seems very good. I rely on the app and it works very well for me. It’s a fair, good cost for a high-quality system.

My house got broken into. In the other residences that I lived at, I used Brinks, but I did my research and the issue that I had was, what happens if the phone lines get caught or things like that because most of the other security systems are built around those phone lines. I work in IT, so I consider that antiquated technology and maybe dead-end one day. So, that was the reason that I looked at Frontpoint. They were highly reviewed and their system did not rely solely on your phone line.
The Frontpoint rep I spoke with was a helpful guy. We had a chat and he asked why I was looking into it. I explained that our house got broken into and he gave some recommendations and explained. I even got a discount for signing up because my house got broken into. So, that was some benefit and he took great care of me. He was a nice gentleman and explained all my options very well. Then, it took me about 15 minutes to set up the equipment. Everything is shipped in one box and when you open the box, they immediately have something there that says, "Stop. Do it specifically in this order. And if you run into any issues, call us immediately." So, they have color-coded boxes and they told you what to do in each step. You start with the main unit and you set that up. Then you start pulling the sensors out then you do the doors and the glass-break sensors. Then if you have anything else, you add that. So, it's good for a self-installation.
Since I got Frontpoint, I feel more secure and comfortable when we leave the house for longer periods of time. I made a pretty good habit of setting it now and checking every door before I leave. But even if I forget, I've got the app on my cellphone and I could immediately arm or de-arm the system, and check out my cameras if I feel unsafe or I get a gut feeling. I feel that it does exactly what I wanted it to do, which is number one, deter people. And number two, it does provide security. I'm a very alert individual and I like the chirp whenever a door opens because it makes me consciously think about what's going on in my house. Overall, Frontpoint has been a great company and I feel very satisfied with them. Getting their system was also the best purchase I made in 2018.

We had an attempted break-in last year and what made me decide to go with Frontpoint was the ease of installation and their customer service. I had a great experience with the sales rep and the smartphone features are easy to use and it's convenient. And while it is working well, there’s no way to communicate via smartphone. Cause we had an event where an alarm got triggered and I was out of the country. I couldn’t get any feedback after a guard was sent so I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t alerted of the results of the inspection. Feedback is important cause Frontpoint customers want to know that everything is going well.

Every time I’ve talked to somebody at Frontpoint, everything went fine. We did the installation ourselves and it wasn’t hard to do. The system works fine. I got a glass breaker, the smoke detector, the motion detectors, and the regular window and door sensors. I also bought an outside camera, but I decided to let it stay in the box for now. I’ve had security systems before for my business building and Frontpoint is as easy to work with as any of the other systems. You just push the button to arm it, and you’re asked to punch in your code to disarm it. That’s a little different than the other one I had. There was a lot of learning process but it was not that hard to learn. I’m very satisfied with Frontpoint.

They kept trying to get me to buy additional products. Then when I talked to someone with Frontpoint, they assessed my house and they didn’t try to push me in anything more than what I felt I needed so I was happy with that. Then, the installation of the system was so easy ‘cause there’s an app that walked me through everything. Now, it is nice knowing that my house is secure even if I go out of town for the weekend. I wanted to feel secure, so I got a home security system, and I prefer Frontpoint over the other company that I used to have because their system is pretty simply and their customer service is good. Anytime I’ve had an issue, they’ve handled it right away. When my Frontpoint system was installed, it went nicely and smoothly. Everything seems fine so far and any issue I had was my fault, like forgetting to turn off the alarm before I walked through the garage. And their response was immediate that’s why I’m getting in a point now where I get it right away because they call right away.
The cost of Frontpoint's service is fair as well. I'm using the system as a deterrent and I’ve learned over the years that if people really wanna get into your house, they’re gonna get in your house. But as far as defeating the service, I don’t think they’re gonna be able to do that. I would tell everybody to do their research and look at the security systems that are available. But I have nothing but good things to say about Frontpoint and it’s been good for me so far.

Frontpoint seemed cheaper than other systems and also with how everything works we decided to go with them. The rep explained to me how the system works. He offered me a couple of deals that Frontpoint had at the time, which really caught my attention. I got a video camera and an in-home video system for free which was also a selling point.
Once I opened it up, everything seemed like it was easy to install. I have a few other people that live with me and they’re able to control the app through their phones as well, which is nice. That way I don’t have to worry about me being responsible for it. I like is the fact that I can control the system on my phone or outside of the house. The app is easy to navigate through and simple, which I like. It works good and I feel more safe leaving the house. They are pretty much responsive when things happen. Like there was one incident where I accidentally forgot to turn off the alarm and then within less than a minute, I got a phone call from them just to ask if everything was okay.

I have that too, but I didn’t realize that after a certain period of time, it goes away. And then I have to pay more which I think for the price I’m paying, I shouldn’t have to pay more to set it from my phone. People should make sure they understood everything up front before they agree to pay whatever with Frontpoint. But other than that, the installation of the system was very easy and the features are holding up fine. I feel more at ease when we set the system and are able to have that.

I got a house in a state that I don't normally live in and I wanted to have a sense that it was secured while I wasn't there. Frontpoint uses cellular technology and the battery back-up as opposed to internet or regular telephone line, and I felt like it was a more secure solution. So, I went with them. The rep I talked to was very helpful, answered all my questions, and got me the lowest price package that would meet all my needs. The installation was also fairly simple. They had me install the application on my phone and that was the installation process. And we verified each of the installation of the sensors as I placed them around the house and the property. The instructions were easy, too.
The smartphone features have been handy as well. I get alerts that the phone has lost connectivity with the Frontpoint installation a little bit too frequently and I had experiences where I turned off the main breaker and within two minutes, I got a notification that power had been lost in the house. One time, I also accidentally triggered the fire alarm. I vaped and one of the juices that I had in my vape was a little bit more than the sensor could handle. I got to the panel shortly and pressed in my code to turn it off. But within two minutes, somebody still called me, asked how the house was, and made sure that everything was okay.
So, it has been a pretty good experience so far. I also like the motion detection. I have it installed in my living room and in my kitchen. It's kind of a catch-all and I don't feel the need to have as many individual door sensors because these are two main points in the home that anybody who broke in would have to go through and might not be expecting the motion sensors. Overall, it's a wonderful security system and I would recommend it to friends. I wish that instead of motion sensors, there were cameras and it was for the same price. But maybe that's unrealistic of today's technology and the cost for it as most sensors are way cheaper. Other than that, I feel 100% confident that if anything were to happen to my home, I would know about it or at least have an indication of a breach or a fire.

I wanna upgrade for the newer one which has it and it's a touchscreen. I also returned some doorbell cameras because I didn’t know they had to be hardwired and they haven't called me to say whether they've received the system or not. I'm supposed to get a credit and I need to see whether I did. They could come up with a better alarm panel and maybe some better communication on the time of credit. I had workers in my house at one point, and I was notified at work there was a power outage from the app. It said less than 5% of people in my area had no power (yes, that specific) and because it was sunny out, I called the electric company who said there was no outage at my address. The workers unplugged my security system thinking it would quit working. After I discovered that, I found they had unlocked several windows in my house. Thankfully, I was alerted something was wrong before they crawled through my windows at night!

Frontpoint has excellent customer service and protection. Thankfully, I've never had to truly test Frontpoint in a security event but I always felt very safe and protected using their system. That being said, their contract terms are completely horrendous! I have been a customer for several years but recently decided to review my security needs due to a recent move. I decided that I didn't always need monitoring and noticed that several companies (like Abode) offer monitoring that you can turn on/off based on needs. Plus, I have to pay extra just to control my Frontpoint security system from my phone...which is completely outrageous! Many companies include this in their base plan.
So, after purchasing my new system I went to cancel my service with Frontpoint..which is when I discovered/remembered just how bad their contracts are. If I want to cancel my service I am stuck paying over $350 just to walk away...even though I have been a paying customer for several years. Absolutely horrendous. Modern (and honest) companies don't punish their existing companies for considering another solution. Frontpoint uses this as a crutch to not have to compete with innovating security industry.

I just bought a house in New York and I wanted security on it. I’ve had experience with ADT and others and Frontpoint is the best. Their system is well-priced. It’s good value and it’s very easy to set up. It took me about 20 minutes to do the whole 5,000-square foot house. That’s pretty good. Everything works great so far, including the smartphone features. I’m very comfortable with the reaction times. If anybody opens a door or something like that, the sound goes off and the phone goes within seconds. I’ve been very impressed.
The only problem I’ve had was I had a sensor that the adhesive wasn’t strong enough and it fell off. An internal sensor fell that there were now certain perimeter failures. I knew there was something wrong with it because somebody would have to get past the perimeter checks to be able to set off a motion sensor. So, when I got home, I realized what it was, and Frontpoint provided us stronger affixing stuff. Frontpoint solved the few problems that I’ve had straight away.

But when I talked to the guy from Frontpoint, he told me that they didn’t offer the same features that Vivint offered when I first got it. I should’ve then decided to go back with Vivint but I didn’t. Nonetheless, it’s served its purpose. In fact, Frontpoint's system has been one of the best ones I've had. With the services provided, I was able to answer my door from work and see whoever was on my porch. It was a great experience. I also had to install the system myself and that is something that I had never experienced before. Normally, someone comes and installs it for me. But it was easy.
However, I was supposed to call back whenever my credit score was back at 600 so I could get a refund on some of my deposit and sign for the three-year contract. I called a few months back and the representative told me they were gonna give me a call the next day but no one ever called me. I went online and went on the best security systems, and Frontpoint was brought up as number one in the rankings, so I chose them. There was no pressure when I first called and the rep walked me through, telling me what I needed. I told him that I needed time to think about it and that I would get back to him. He left me the direct number to call back and everything worked out. I wasn't pressured into it and that was what I liked about it. I felt comfortable about it, so I went with that. I knew right then it was a good deal. The installation of the system was really easy. I just downloaded the app and it walked me through the whole thing. It was just peeling and sticking for the doors and for the motion sensors. I just put it in the corner and in the location where I was supposed to put them in, and everything worked out great. It was really simple.
I plan to put more sensors later on because I've got four windows in my basement and anybody can come right through the basement windows. If they come right up to the stairs, there's a motion sensor right there that will hit them. But still, I don't want anybody getting into our house, so, eventually, I'm gonna order more window sensors and, possibly, another motion sensor going upstairs. The equipment has good quality and I haven't had any issues with them yet, although it seems really fragile.
I use the app on my phone all the time. In fact, I don't even use the control panel. I had some questions and I was able to look some things up on the app or on the internet. I saved it on my phone under "My Favorites". It is easy. I just go and hit that if I have any questions and most of the questions are answered right there, online.
The system works great. The only issue I had was the alarm went off at around 2:00 in the morning one night and it was out in the shop. I called the sheriff and they came out, and they told me not to go out there. When I went out there, there were no broken windows. The only thing we could find out was, when we opened the door, there was a mouse hanging out next to the sensor. I had a 2x4 mounted to the corner of the wall and I had the sensor hooked to it, and the mouse was able to go up or over the sensor part. I called customer service about it and they told me to take the sensor off the wall, put it in the drawer, and let it sit there for two days.
They would run some test on it to make sure that it was not a problem with the motion sensor, and it wasn't. It was fine. It summed up the fact that it was the mouse that triggered it. It is nice having Frontpoint in our home. I live in an area where the next neighbor is about a quarter of a mile down the road, so Frontpoint makes my wife feel more secure because she is home a lot. Frontpoint is a lot better than our previous security system in terms of customer service and quality. However, there was a lot of upfront DIY work in terms of setting things up and we experienced some difficulty. I would feel more comfortable if a trained person was doing it especially given that the price points were very similar to the other company we were using, so it was not like we were saving a whole bunch of money by moving to Frontpoint.
My husband also tried to get the front door lock from them but our door had an uncommon thickness level so we couldn’t use that solution. We couldn't get a refund for it and my husband talked to someone about some alternates. Also, one of the selling points of the salesperson is that we can put the console anywhere and it shouldn't be next to the garage door or main door 'cause that's where intruders would probably try to disable the system. But, I found myself forgetting to turn it on a lot more because it was not right next to the front door. I often have to activate it through my phone which is a great option to have and I love doing that but I feel like I remembered it more when I was able to hit the button on my way out.
But every time we've had any false alarms or triggers and we've called Frontpoint's line, it's been positive and helpful so I have no issues on that front. Also, there was a period of time when we were getting a lot of false alarms but the representative managed to talk my husband through the process and that was super helpful.
