Over the years, I've had affiliations with many top-drawer security companies. I must say that Frontpoint is the best company that I've used. I am an right-hand amputee and was worried that installing the system myself might prove difficult, but it was surprisingly easy. The online and hard copy materials provided hold your hand and guide you through the process. The few times that I had questions that needed human support, their personnel were accessible, knowledgeable, patient and professional (in a friendly manner). I use both the key fob and phone app to control the system, and find them both easy to use. This is in no way a knock against some other firms that I've used, I'm just stating that this company serves my purposes better.

We had the service for four years when my family had a major change and we could not keep the service. Our contract was up so I called to cancel. We had been very patient with the company on the lack of quality equipment that was constantly breaking and having to be returned. At one point we were downgraded at no fault of our own because they were having equipment issues. (They took us from a touch screen monitor to a key panel.) we were not happy but what do you do.
When I called I was told that they could give us six months free service because of our situation. However they kept billing up. So I called today to cancel and they are telling me because we accepted the 6 months free we owe the nine months. This company is not to be trusted!!!! They will say anything to lock you in. They broke the agreement first by not sending us the equipment we paid for and then by continuing to charge us for service after they told us there would no charge, and now this.

Bought system but never used or activated. Called to cancel and get refund. Told I was past the 1 month "trial" and even though never installed or activated I could not get a refund or "get out of my contract" even though they said "no contracts". Deceptive company. Avoid them like the plague. Saw many other complaints about "not being able to cancel 3 year contract. Read all the complaints before buying this "money pit". I might have to lose the purchase price but this crooked company will not get another dollar from me. Dr David **

Had Frontpoint for 5 years with no issues, when I moved they forced me to buy their new hub instead of using my existing panel. Then all the sensors started causing false alarms and I've accumulated $1100 in false alarm fines from my police department in 4 months! They keep forcing me to troubleshoot with them and sending me new sensors but the last conclusion is that I should switch to my original panel - which they initially lied and refused to let me use. They won't let me out of the contract and they want me to pay for more parts. Thieves and liars, not to mention hours and hours on the phone. STAY AWAY!!!!

My alarm went off at 3:00 AM for no apparent reason. I expected Frontpoint to call me for a wellness check and they never did. I had to call them and was told they had no record of my alarm going off. I had to call technical support later that day to find out why this was happening. I was told that my 2G hub/keypad was outdated and not communicating to them. Apparently they switched to a 4G system 8 months ago and I was not notified. I called today to cancel my service only to be told that I will be billed for November for a service that I am not receiving and have not received for the past 8 months. Not only should I not have to pay for November but I should be reimbursed for the past 8 months of so called service that I paid for and received zero monitoring.
I was told that had I checked my mobile app I would have realized that my hub/keypad wasn't communicating to them. Thankfully that 3:00 AM alarm was a false alarm and we did not require emergency personnel to be sent to our house. I hate to think of what might have happened if this was an actual emergency since we were under the expectation that we were being covered/protected. Frontpoint needs to implement better business practices and take responsibility for their inaction to alert their customers of a system upgrade. I should have been called and a new hub automatically sent to me knowing that mine was outdated. Instead, they threw the responsibility onto me by telling me I should have checked my app.

This company is very hard to cancel. They tell you on the phone you can cancel your service after the contract is up but try to pass you on to another department then require a written cancellation and 30 day notice process that creates an additional barrier that allows them to keep billing you. They will hound you day and night for small balances and have no customer satisfaction concerns. Bad to deal with - there are better systems out there.

My wife and I researched several of the various alarm system companies 2 years ago prior to purchasing with Frontpoint. We specifically chose them due to the fact that they “don’t require a contact”. When we signed up, the salesperson said Nothing about a contract. We gladly ordered our equipment and got set up with frontpoint. Fast forward to the today and upon calling to cancel I learned that we were locked into a 3 year contract and we had to pay 80% of the remainder to cancel their services.
What really bad is that I referred my mother in law to frontpoint and had been someone who would tell others about frontpoint. I will never be a customer of theirs again and I plan to tell my mother in law to leave their services ASAP. I also plan to tell all my friends and family to avoid them like the plague. They’re deceitful and dishonest in their business dealings.

This system never worked for us and we had to replace it after 10 months. We asked to cancel and the company wouldn't allow it. They are still taking money from us every month over a year later. FrontPoint Securty Solutions, LLC has not acted in good faith and has not addressed the numerous service issues with their system. Representatives of FrontPoint Securty Solitions, LLC have not followed through and the system never functioned as promised. The numerous problems associated with the securty system constitute a material breach of contract and FrontPoint Security Solutions, LLC has failed to remedy its breach. As a result, I have had to get a new system installed on the property.

It's 2019 and I get a lot of spam/robocalls. I usually delete robo voicemails unheard but I decided to finally listen to one from a number that kept calling. It was Frontpoint telling me "my account needs updated". I then realized I had a new debit card number and they needed it. This is their business model, no letters, no calls from a real person, no emails, just robo voicemails. I decided to do some Googling and realized that FrontPoint was one of the most expensive alarm systems and this was their definition of "customer service".
I purchased a new, much cheaper alarm system (with the same features) and installed it. I called FrontPoint to cancel and they told me the same thing you'll read in other reviews below. FrontPoint requires a "30 Day Cancellation Notice". This means that even though the alarm is sitting in a box next to my garbage can, I'll still be paying for service for 30 days after I "cancel". The person on the phone kept trying to rationalize "the monitoring is in place and we pre pay for it so it's there whether you use it or not" as if that makes me feel better about giving you $44 more for nothing. Making the last exchange with a customer unpleasant is a sure fire way to get bad reviews and close that door forever. It would be very easy to just wrap it up and say have a nice day. I recommend steering clear of this company and their "squeeze every last dollar out" practices.

In March I called to cancel the alarm service. I had transferred my service over to my parents address on a month to month basis for the past couple years. Now I’m moving my parents into my home and called to cancel the Frontpoint alarm service which I no longer have a need for. They kept on insisting that I could still use the service and to just transfer it to someone else. It took me over 2 hours of talking to customer support for them to tell me they will cancel my service after I give them a written notice.
Also they told me that they also have to charge me the monthly fee for the following month coming up of April (even though I called to cancel it n March & won’t get service in April). This makes no sense why they would charge an extra month of service when I am not under contract or am not receiving services. How do they get away with this? I guess when I go to a month to month service, you automatically agree to the a month to month contract agreement that you agree to pay them for an extra month after canceling. This company is a complete rip off and finds tricky ways to keep you as a customer and continue charging your account until go through all the different channels of hell to cancel.

We never received the system yet they continued to charge our bank account for service we never received. To make matters worse, since I stopped further payments on our bank account they have continued to harass us even after we told them we were canceling the service for nonperformance. We wrote the state attorney general's office to see if they can be prosecuted for fraud or larceny.

Here is a copy of my recent letter to customer service at Frontpoint that explains my downrating. Be careful, they want your money and not your satisfaction. "Our treatment by Frontpoint after being faithful customers for over many years is deplorable. After complying completely with all requirements for transferring our account to the new owners of our former home (@—), we received confirmation that our account was closed. Yet we have now been billed every month for 5 months. When I complained, my credit card disputes were resolved in my favor, but I have spent well over 5 hrs time attempting to resolve this problem. Adding insult to injury, my wife was told by Frontpoint’s staff that this was her fault, and this after a 45 minute wait on the phone. It seems that the company cares little about wrongful billing, and does not share information from one department to another. Please repay a small portion of My time. Thank you."

Right when we moved in, we decided to go with Frontpoint and the system has been great. I don’t have much experience with security systems but it’s hassle-free and non-obtrusive. The smartphone features are very convenient especially when there are people visiting from out of town and they don’t know how the system works. We’re satisfied with the quality of the security equipment. It seems responsive and the experience with Frontpoint has been good.

We didn’t have internet at the time we were looking for a security system. Frontpoint was one of the two companies that had the wireless system. Frontpoint's system is really good. But the sensors that they’ve sent me initially did not work and that was due to them being on a metal exterior door. They said the only way around that is to do the long-range sensors. I had to mail the old ones back and they had to mail me the new one. And had that been discussed in the sales call portion of it, that would have probably helped out a bit of frustration. It took three phone calls to figure out that the sensors are on a metal door and they’re not gonna work. But other than that, everything’s been great so far.

We purchased a security system from Frontpoint a few days ago and would recommend this system for the excellent customer service and ease of installation. The system came packaged with clearly marked step by step sections, so it was easy to tell which part was needed next in the installation. So overall we are happy with our purchase.
Two suggestions I would make to make the experience of using the system more positive: 1- Frontpoint should make sure the names they use for components are consistent. For instance, a tech assistant clarified that the hub was also referred to as a panel... when we asked about the app’s reference to the sound coming from the “panel”. Secondly, we prefer that the voice announcements about doors/windows being open/closed be muted and expected to be able to control that ourselves. However we discovered that could only be adjusted by contacting the company and they had to do that remotely. It seems that could be something customers could adjust independently... along with other options for notification like a quiet beep if a door/window was opened. Despite these two issues, we would still highly recommend Frontpoint.

The system itself is fine, no different than most other wireless security systems. The door alarms that hold the magnet and clips onto the piece that is attached to the door frame falls off. Even though my dog is NOT suppose to set off the alarm, it does when he moves, which renders this system useless to me. I tried to cancel my subscription but because they lock you into a 3 year contract, they wanted to charge me $800 to cancel my contract. If their system and company is so great, why lock your customers into a 3 year contract Frontpoint?

Installing Frontpoint is easy and the sales pitch is great. For me that is where the positives end. My system has worked properly for a total of 3 weeks out of the four months I have had it in place. I changed my WiFi password and have not ever been able to reconnect one of my cameras. I finally gave up after two one hour phone calls (separate one hour phone call was necessary to fix the other camera). One sensor has fallen off of the wall (installed with their adhesive strips) and despite fixing it my alarm system will not set without numerous warnings that it has been tampered (really fun experience when you are trying to wind down or others are sleeping).
I have to turn it off and on from my phone multiple times for it to finally bypass the warnings and stop the system from yelling at me. Lately the security system just randomly beeps, no intruder no movement just a kind jolt of anxiety to wake you up abruptly at 1am. Contract lasts for three years so only option at this point it to publicly complain until they fix numerous issues or help them go out of business.
We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you feel that you have had with us, as that is definitely not our goal here at Frontpoint. When selling their systems they do not reveal that their contract is for 3 years. When I was moving I requested a cancellation but was told that I owed them 80% of remaining 3 year contract. I would never recommend this service to anyone. Had I known it was a 3 year contract I would not have signed it. I can see a one year contract or even a 2 year contract agreement but I think this company tries to deceive people and is not trustworthy. When I spoke to the customer service person when I bought the equipment, she assured me that I could cancel anytime. Sure I could cancel, but I’d have to pay up.

I have used Frontpoint for a year now. I installed the device myself. It took a little longer than I thought it was going to but they were able to guide me through the process pretty well. I was a little worried about that part but ended up being okay though. They were good and professional. I'm a technical person so, it was fairly easy for me to figure some things out. For someone that's maybe a little older, they'll have some challenges with it. But it was a good experience. We rely on the interactive feature and I even interact with the unit itself. They have it compatible with your smartphones and being able to get to it online is just probably been one of the best parts of it for us. They've been very good in support of the product, and there's a more secured feeling.
It's great that your system is making you feel more secure and that the Interactive features are helpful when using your system! Thank you for the great review and let us know if there is anything you need in the future!

I installed Frontpoint myself and that was all pretty easy. My only issue is with the motion detector. It detects my pugs although I have it at four feet. I don't know why it goes off and there's no solution. It's probably the most frustrating thing. I called them about it and I don't think I really got a good answer. My glass breaker also wigged out of us in the middle of the night one night and went off four times. I called about that and they just sent me a new one.
Thank you for feedback, we're glad to hear that your installation went so smoothly. Because we want to make sure you're getting the most out of your system, we will have one of our Support Supervisors reach out to assist with your motion detectors. The staff from Frontpoint were very helpful with setting the system up. I have the cameras which I can control through an app and it worked out well and I like them. The only thing is that the doorbell camera does not pick up people walking to it and I've been told that it's just due to the internet connection being slow. But other than that, I have a home security system that gives me no worries and makes me feel a little bit more confident.

Setting up the Frontpoint system was very easy. The only issue I've had is that some of their devices have adhesives that they are held on with and they don't always stick. But they've done good and sent replacements, so it was just fine. Dealing with their people has been very positive.

I have a Ring alarm system and Frontpoint. Installing Frontpoint wasn't as easy as peel, stick and go. I set up some cameras about two weeks ago and it took myself and the rep on the phone about three and a half hours to do it. Most of their reps are really nice on the phone, but every time I get something from them, some things don't work the first time. I've always had to send something back.
I think that Frontpoint is a good company and I've already referred people to them, but only for the window and door sensors and the monitor. If you're going into anything else, it's definitely not worth it. It's just a gimmick. I do know that they are trying to stay within the industry's price point, but I believe it's a bit inflated. The price is totally overblown. I could buy three more cameras from Ring for another $500 and be done. Those cameras have night vision, speakers, and they’re wireless. Frontpoint’s cameras have wires attached to them and they have no interactive intercom system. But Frontpoint has me locked into this contract and their equipment is sub-par.
Davin, thank you for all of your feedback. We are glad to see that you were able to speak with our Support Supervisor, Darius, and that he was able to address all of your concerns in detail. Thanks again and please let us know if there is anything else we can ever do for you in the future!

Installing Frontpoint was pretty easy. I'm not that adapted to computers so if I could do this, anyone could. Then, I called for the form you fill out for the police department and when we didn't realize we didn't turn the alarm off, their customer service was helpful. They've been very polite every time we've talked to somebody. We're really happy with it and the nice little security feature that we have. And it's easy for my daughter to be able to come in and out and be able to turn the system off and on. It also doesn't matter what door you go in, it's a one set alarm. I know with some systems you have to go in or out a certain door and so that's a convenience. We really like that.

And a couple of times, I had trouble with the website and I’ve called them and they’ve resolved the issues. The gal that I originally talked to before I purchased the system and stayed with me through the process was very good. My experience has been very positive.

The installation of the Frontpoint device was really good. The only frustration I had was that we've got molding around our doors, and so the sensors that have to align on the doors and windows initially didn't. They sent spacers for that and that seemed to work fine. Their team was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback to all of this was I wish we would have known in detail how the sensors work and that they needed to be on a flat surface around the doors. Other than that, the people have always been very willing to spend to walk through whatever initial set of difficulties we had and provide additional equipment as necessary. It's been a good investment and a really economical choice.
We're glad that your system has met your expectations and that our Support Team was able to help you get your system up and running. We appreciate the feedback and ask that you reach out if you need anything in the future!

I Googled security companies and checked consumer ratings and review sites, and Frontpoint was the highest reviewed. Their reputation is really well-earned. Customer service team is always responsive and we get someone right away. They seem to really want to help and make an effort to provide customer service. Setting up their security device was very easy.
We integrated our own door lock, and have the thermostat and flood sensor. We got the one light, which worked well but it was the big, clunky box. We have to plug it in so it's not a full smart-like solution but it's fine. We use it to turn our living room lights on and off. The biggest benefit of having Frontpoint is the peace of mind especially since this is the first house we've owned. Having the devices all in one place has been great. We're able to check the house when we're away for long periods of time to know if everything's okay.

It was easy, and what was excellent was that I didn’t have to have an installer come out. I like the cell phone part of their service, too. I can take the system with me. There's no comparison between them and Simplisafe which was my previous home security provider. I would give Frontpoint a 5 and Simplisafe a negative 0 (if there's such a thing).
