From day one, we were impressed by the professionalism and communication from this company. Every step of the pool build was clearly explained, and we always knew what to expect next. The crew showed up on time, kept the job site clean, and worked efficiently. The final result? A stunning pool that looks even better than we imagined. It’s become our favorite part of the house, and friends and family are blown away every time they visit. We’re so grateful for the experience and highly recommend them to anyone considering adding a pool!

We're really happy with Blue Haven. I knew about them from a friend who really raved about Dominic, who was the contractor we used. I like what she had to say based on how he was responsive, responsible, and got the work done quickly. She's very happy with the product. Even when there was a problem, he dealt with it well. When I got the bids in, they were competitive and I could work with Dominic and negotiate on a few things. So, I was satisfied with that. I wasn't crazy about the design process though. Dominic was great, but he was limited with that area.

Designing is not in Dominic's skill set and I needed more help with that, but I didn't have enough support. I don't think that could have come from the contractor. That needed to come more from the architect. In the end, I am happy, but I had a little anxiety and stress over it. During construction, the team moved fast. Maybe they gave me a timeline, and I wasn't ready, but they were great. Before it got cold in December, they said, "Let's get two weeks in just to dig it out," and then as soon as they were able to, they completed it in the spring. So, we were really happy with the timeline.

The other companies that I asked for quotes wouldn't even talk to me because I wouldn't give them a budget. Others wouldn't give me the design that I wanted. With Blue Haven, they have everything I wanted, like the price and the design.

I gave them my vision of what I wanted. I put it out, setting it out with all the bells and whistles. Then I could go ahead and take away, that maybe it was just out of my price range, or I could just set it out the way I wanted it. But they came in with all my bells and whistles and still were within my price range.

As far as the construction and process, I have nothing to complain about. They were awesome. Brad was the lead. He was outstanding. He definitely did things that he didn't have to do, or questions. He handled everything very professionally. The guys who did all the blasting were outstanding, neat and clean. I really appreciated that.

The total project took four months. The only thing that held them up, and it wasn't their part, was Charleston County. They were the longest. But there was nothing that anybody could do about that.

I wanted a pool that had movement and shape. We live on a peninsula and we're surrounded by water. I wanted that as an overview. If somebody looks down from the top of my porch, the pool moved with the shape of the creek.

I also did the bubblers. I did the lights that had the capability of changing colors. It's all done by my cellphone and I really like that. And the swim platform, I love that too. They were also able to give me an additional seating out in the deep area, where my little grandchildren got in distress, they knew that they could go to the side wall and step up to get out.

We moved to Florida and I interviewed three other companies then I found out on Facebook that Blue Haven was here. I'm originally from Texas and Blue Haven was also there, so I knew the name. Amber, the designer, was wonderful. I knew right away when she sat down and we started talking that that's who I was gonna go with. We have a long narrow rectangular pool with a hot tub that we can run from our phones. I recommended Blue Haven to several people who drove by our house and stopped and asked about it. So, I've given them quite a few referrals.

We had Blue Haven do our pool renovation. It's still an older pool that existed in the ground, and it was renovated for it to look new. We took the old deck up to put in a new deck. We added new stones to the pool. We added the new surface in the bottom of the pool with new handles, but as far as anything new to the design, it was the same except we enlarged the deck.

Working with Blue Haven was great. We told the initial person who came out what we wanted. He was very nice and informative. Then we had a supervisor on the job, and we had the workers. Everybody was great. They were able to finish the job in a timely manner.

We had our pool done through Blue Haven and they did excellent work. The pool was about 40 years old, and the tiles were falling off. They took it down to the shell, rebuilt it and put a new filter.

We always received alerts about when they were coming and what needed to be done. If something had to be changed, he called us right away. It was never a problem. The renovation took about six weeks. We had started it in April and finished by Memorial Day.

Blue Haven was able to offer a good price for the product that I was interested in and the customer service was good. I did have one bad experience while they installed. I know Blue Haven hires subcontractors to do all the work and they have a management team that supervises the contractors to make sure they're doing the work properly. The pavers that they contracted were not good. So there was some back and forth about fixing the pavers and they finally did come back and took care of the pavers and fixed them. Jackson, their supervisor, did a fantastic job. He was the one who got everything straightened out and taken care of. He was fabulous and they built a beautiful pool.

I found Blue Haven on social media. Then I started doing some investigating after I saw them advertised. Their customer service is outstanding. The pool design was perfect. Krista, the designer, was incredible. One of my favorite features would be the waterfall. I really like it.

Blue Haven told us how long the project would take, and they actually beat the time frame. They were very good. Our superintendent, Jay, was incredible and always let us know what to expect. Aside from weather delays a few times, everything happened exactly the way they said it would. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially with construction, since that’s usually a pain. They made it very easy for us.

I was with Blue Haven for a long time, even in California. Scott came out. He is a great guy and knew his business. He looked at our area and we discussed what we were looking to have in the backyard with the size of it because it's small. We were able to come up with a tremendous design for my needs and made it really effective. In other words, economy-wise, it worked out quite well. Everything about their operation, starting with the designer, every single one of those people paid attention, kept to their deadline, and did the job, informed me of things when I needed it. Richard, who came over at the very end, great young man who made sure I understood how to operate everything.

I use my pool at least three to five times a day through the whole year. It's designed so I can exercise in there. I was able to put some jets in there and a heater. I've also recommended them to several people. I think they're great. I think they know their business. When I went through it last year, it was really good. They did their job.

Their customer service is great. I'm still calling and asking questions, and they always call me back. They're easy to work with.

If the contractors said they were coming, they were there and kept my place clean. When they left every day, everything was cleaned up. The contractor did a wonderful job from designing the pool to landscaping all around it. They even got finished three weeks earlier than projected. He said we would be in the pool by May the 5th, and we were in the pool two or three weeks before that. They were really good. We had a great experience. My pool is magnificent and I love it. Blue Haven Pools & Spas rated very highly among all the companies that I checked out from Better Business Bureau. We were looking to build a pool, and we took about probably four or five quotes from different companies.

I even talked to finance companies to see if there were any complaints, and there were none against Blue Haven. And then also, there's this lady called Carmen. She said Blue Haven finished their pool, and that they did a good job.

I thought the designer was very good. She listened to everything that I wanted. I was very happy. So it's rectangular, and has a sun ledge. It's got two bubblers, LED lights, and waterfall fountain wall, which is what I wanted. It goes from 3 feet to 5.5 feet. I had salt water.

I thought the quality of it was very good. I would tell others exactly what I told you, with all the research I did and everything else of why I chose the company.

I designed a rectangular pool that was similar to one I built a couple of years ago in a different state. This one is old school and retro with a safety ledge. I wanted it simple, and Blue Haven followed me request. The original designer was a little snappy, and I didn’t like her at all. The other people we worked with were also not so wonderful. The project manager, on the other hand, made everything great. The installation was perfect. So far, the pool has been great. I would highly recommend them.

I have no complaints about Blue Haven Pools. The designer was amazing. They asked what I wanted and designed the pool based on what I told them. Although there were a couple of discrepancies between what I was told to begin with and what ended up happening, the manager 100% took ownership and made sure I got what I wanted. The finished pool looks amazing and is the perfect size for my house. I thought it was going to be too small, but they told me it wouldn't. Their price was reasonable, and I have recommended them to a friend.

Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. Communication throughout the process has been poor, with long stretches of silence and repeated failure to respond to emails or calls. There is no clear follow-up on progress, and we constantly have to chase for updates. When we receive responses, they were often filled with vague explanations or shifting excuses for delays. Timelines have been missed multiple times, and at no point did we feel like the situation is being handled proactively or professionally. What could have been resolved with timely, honest communication and accountability turned into a frustrating and drawn-out ordeal. I would not recommend this service unless serious improvements are made to how they manage client communication and commitments.

I met with the Blue Haven Pools & Spas designer, and I was impressed by the way they really came out and looked at the site. They seemed more engaged. That's what sold me on using them. He was great.

The construction of the pool went well, but there was a long wait between digging and pouring because the house needed to get to a certain point.

The design and quality have been great. I have lights and I control it over my phone. We’re using it now. We didn’t get to use it much last year because we didn’t get ready until September. It’s been really nice.

There are some little dark spots in the PebbleTec. It might be a piece of iron ore or something. There are three or four places like that. I thought it was just something that I could take a pumice stone and knock off, but I worked on it pretty good with a pumice stone, and it doesn’t make any difference. I was going to call and ask if there’s anything that can be done about that.

We talked to several people who had different kinds of pool, fiberglass and vinyl-lined. Our neighbors across the street have a gunite pool, and we asked them who did theirs. Our neighbors told us it was Blue Haven and told us about the guy who designed it, Jamie. After that recommendation and our research, we went with Blue Haven. I went to their website and looked around. With the information and photo gallery in there, I had an idea what they were capable of.

We gave them a basic idea and what we didn’t want in a pool. We didn’t want a square, rectangular, or round pool. Jamie went from there and came up with the design. He talked to us about what was involved, what we could expect, and took his time to explain everything so there wouldn’t be any surprises. He answered all the questions that we had and spent quite a bit of time with us. It wasn’t a rush deal, and there was no pressure.

The pool he designed for us has a spa, three waterfalls, and a tanning deck where we can put chairs and umbrellas. It also comes with the app to control all the equipment on my phone and turn the features on and off. We have the UV light system to help sanitize it and an in-floor cleaning system.

The construction supervisor and his assistant came out every day to check how things were going. Before they sprayed the gunite, they told us it was gonna be very messy. They completely covered the patio with a heavy plastic film. There were different crews that came out, those who did the excavation, those who did the plumbing, and those who did the gunite. They were always careful to clean up after themselves. They kept us up to date when they were gonna come out and what they were gonna be doing. They always asked if it was okay to leave some of their equipment because they were gonna be back the next day.

Supposedly, it would take 90 days to finish the pool, but it took longer because we had some bad health news and had to take care of some things. I told them they could continue working while we weren’t home and we could just check on them with the security cameras. They said they were fine with waiting until we get back. They were very accommodating and worked around our schedule. They also had to wait before they could put the plaster since the fluctuating temperatures could make it a little harder for the plaster to cure.

When they sprayed the gunite, I had to go out and water that down twice a day while that cured. With the plaster, they asked us to fill the pool with water because it helps the plaster cure and helps protect it from temperature extremes. The biggest thing is that we had to brush it two or three times every day for two weeks. We also had to clean out the main filters twice a day. It was a little bit of work on our part, but that’s something that they told us going into it, so it wasn't a surprise.

It was pretty simple and straightforward. It's a great design, but it's a rectangular pool that's small. Everything's good. It was well worth the money. Although what pools cost, it's like I can't believe how expensive they are to build. As far as what it is, it's expensive. But everyone who quoted me was the same price. So it's not like Blue Haven was any more than any of the competitors. But no, they were professional, they were good. Being a contractor myself, I was out there almost every day, looking over their work. So I feel like my pool came out better than if somebody says, "Hey, here's a check. Build a pool. I'll see you in two months." But overall, they were great. Everything's been really good. I've been really pleased with them, and I would use them again if I had another pool to build. But I don't think I'll ever have the money for another pool. So I don't have to worry about that.

The pool plan from Blue Haven Pools & Spas was great. We both designed it together. He just laid out what we thought, then we tweaked it, and the computer was able to do what we wanted to do.

I was surprised by how quickly the installation went. We were expecting to get it done this year, but he was able to squeeze everything last year and finish it. I felt like it went quicker than I was ready for it to go to pay it off.

We have a waterfall, a slide, bubblers and lights on the floor. We only got one water spiller thing. I've seen some other designs now where it could have been three for the whole wall, but we're fine with the one. The kids love it, so it’s great.

We originally were gonna get a fiberglass pool with a contract from Premier Pools but at an event at Oldham County Day, we were just talking to someone at Blue Haven and told him what I got, and he offered a lifetime gunite pool for what I was paying for the fiberglass, which didn't have waterfall features and could only do one light in it. So, we ended up paying a little bit more money for this one overall, but it's better than a square pool.

He was good. He gave me a deal. He has yet to come out and fix some granite. The gray coping around the thing cracked over the winter, so I've texted him about it, and I think I need to reach out to him again. There were also some sharp corners I wanted him to buff down and clean up a little bit.

The price was more than fair with Blue Haven. I’ve had friends who asked for a pool similar to mine and they’ve been quoted up to three times as much. They are fast, within two days, we were ready to go, and they were already pulling permits and doing the deal that same week. This is actually the second pool they’ve done for me. I used them over 20 years ago and they put in a pool for me then with no issues.

I’m very much an A+ personality, so I already knew what I wanted and had my own ideas. I even asked for a wall that was something different than what they had done before, and they were able to definitely accommodate. When there was an issue getting travertine in, I was looking for a certain aesthetic and the supervisor was able to make some suggestions to modify that.

There’s been a few issues around this recent pool, though. There was a place that did not get completely filled and the pool has been leaking. I’ve been talking to the warranty team lately, and they’ve been responding within an hour of me sending an email over. They came out and fixed the leak, but it still had a leak. I called them back this week and they’ve been Johnny-on-the-spot with talking to me, definitely above and beyond. Nothing’s ever perfect, but it’s how they respond when there’s an issue. Overall, it’s been a very good, very positive experience and I’ve actually already referred them to about eight people. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Everybody at Blue Haven was extremely responsive. They were very quick to get back with us and answer any queries we had. We tried to make it as cut and dry for them as possible, so we walked into it having taken plat maps, sketched out things that we knew we wanted, and even going so far as checking county ordinances to make sure we weren't violating any zoning. So, we came to the table with a concrete idea of what we wanted, they took that, worked with us, and made some suggestions that we hadn't considered, which we appreciated. So, it was an incredibly smooth process for us. It took eight weeks from start to finish for the entire building of the pool, pouring the decking, until they were totally wrapped.

We opted for a 9,000-gallon pool. We had some concrete edging and tropical plants that we installed ourselves in the backyard and to give more of an organic appearance and natural look, we did the freeform pool, and we put in a tanning ledge. On their recommendation, we had an 18-inch elevated spa to make it easier to get in and out of and served as a railing for the steps going into the pool. We got the travertine coping, the nicer upgraded water line tiles, the automation system and the pool heater as well. We’ve talked to people looking at putting in pools and gave them references to the people we worked with at Blue Haven.

Our best friends who live here in San Antonio had Blue Haven Pools & Spas and referred it to us. It's just a standard pool flagstone top piled inside and a pool decking on the concrete pad all the way around it, and our pergola area. They made it the freeform pool, then it has a hot tub, and it has our benches in it that we wanted, our sitting areas. We love the design, we love the work, and the workers were easy and great to work with. They listened to what we needed and were always here on time when they said they were coming. The negative would be a little bit more explanation or directions on how to do the pumps and the valves to shut them off. I guess how to do the maintenance of the pool was extremely short in time. He was only here 15 to 20 minutes. I didn't have any questions, but I called back twice, and I have not gotten a response back to come back and show me again, or if they have a better way to explain it. I still don't think I got it.

Wish I Had Gone Elsewhere from the Start. After a frustrating experience with this company, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere for pool construction. From the very beginning, it was clear that this company couldn’t deliver the quality and service they promised. The process was full of delays, lack of communication, and poor customer service. I was given a timeline that was not even close to being met, and every time I tried to get an update, I was met with excuses and silence.

I also noticed that the quality of their work didn’t meet expectations. There were issues with the pool design, finishing, and even the materials they used. It quickly became clear that their attention to detail was lacking, and I couldn’t trust them to handle such an important project. If you're looking for a smooth and professional pool-building experience, I highly recommend considering other options. It’s definitely worth the extra effort to find a company that cares about getting it right the first time.

I needed to get my backyard done. I got a referral for the hardscape, and that’s the person who brought in Blue Haven. The crew was just a bunch of subcontractors and they came out and did the work they’d promised to do.

I had my own landscape architect, so I didn't need a design, but I did add LED lighting among other things. It was a kidney-shaped pool. It had a water feature through a waterfalls. It had a swim bench on one end and steps. It’s a nice pool, but there were a couple of extra features we added.

The whole process took less than a year, but that's because we designed it such that it would start in the fall and finish in the spring.

Blue Haven did good work at great prices.

I worked with Blue Haven Pools and Spas, and I am extremely pleased with the pool design they created for me. The design process was insightful as they helped me understand what would realistically fit in my backyard, considering the existing deck and how the pool would integrate with our lifestyle. Their expertise was evident as they advised me on what ideas might not work well based on their experience. They also considered my future intentions, suggesting design ideas that could accommodate changes down the line.

After deciding to proceed with Blue Haven, the timeline from design presentation to the start of construction was swift. They were originally set to begin in two to three weeks, but a schedule shift allowed them to start within a week and a half, which was very convenient.

One of my favorite features is the seating layout. It perfectly fits our needs and enhances our pool experience. Once construction was complete, I was able to use the pool immediately.

I would highly recommend Blue Haven to friends and family and have already referred several neighbors to them. The entire team displayed excellent communication and service. Although their pricing was higher than other vendors, I found it justified given the quality and follow-up service I've received. Overall, I am thoroughly satisfied with my experience and rate them highly.

I recently had a pool installed by Blue Haven Pools and Spa. I had heard of Blue Haven from friends and their strong presence in our area. What drew me to them was their company's size and the impressive warranty they offered.

The pool plan met our expectations perfectly. Our designer suggested adding a tanning ledge and adjusting the pool's depth, which proved to be excellent additions. We opted for the OmniLogic smart features, allowing us to control everything from lighting to other systems via a smartphone or tablet, with the lighting being particularly useful.

The construction was notably quick, completing within 5 to 6 weeks without any faults or issues. Interaction with the construction crew was seamless. The construction manager was consistently available and present during work, ensuring everything went smoothly.

Our pool is a simple rectangular design with a tanning ledge and bubblers, and we're thoroughly pleased with its appearance and functionality. The customer service has been outstanding, and we still rely on them for pool maintenance. While pool prices are generally high, Blue Haven offered a fair and competitive price compared to other quotes we received.

Overall, the experience with Blue Haven was fantastic. I found them to be honest, upfront, and they deliver high-quality work. We had absolutely zero falls in the entire process.

Once they were done, they went way above and beyond cleaning everything up, and regrading the lawn. They built a simple rectangle pool for us and we opened it in September. So far, we haven't had any issues going through all the free stuff. There's been a lot of pools around the area that had a lot of issues that were built by other companies. I worked across the street from the location of Blue Haven for a number of years. Since they had a showroom that I could go to and I could see samples, we worked with them on a rectangular pool to go into our backyard to fit the space we were looking for. We wanted a water feature, a sun shelf, some stairs, and a ledge. They listened to everything we had to say, then they were able to put together something for us that was amazing. That really helped make things smoother. They also suggested some things as far as extra patio space which they said we might need, and we loved that because we didn't feel like they were trying to upsell us on anything.

The installation was quick. We got in at the right time because we broke ground at the end of April of 2024 and we were swimming the last week of July. They also respected the fact that we have neighbors and that we were on a busy corner. We live right across the street from an elementary school and they didn't create any heartburn for us in terms of the environment or build. It was an inconvenience because we lost our backyard for a few months, but that is what it is and we knew that was coming.

Then, our designer referred us over to a company that could have done a fencing work for us. So, we went off the recommendation and we contacted the fencing company. They came out, quoted, and it was in line with what we were expecting. But the owner of the company passed away a few weeks before he was about to start work and I had to deal with his son because we had already given a deposit of $10,000 to him. I reached out to Blue Haven and asked for some assistance, because I wasn't getting a response back and I was starting to get that eerie feeling that I almost got taken for my money. They stepped in and smoothed everything out, even though it wasn't their fault. That really resonated with me as far as their willingness to make sure that we were happy because we went off of their recommendation. But as far as the pool goes, outside of rain, there was nothing that was unexpected.

Working with the designer went well overall. The pool has a light with a remote to turn it on and I have the spa and in-floor cleaner pop-up system. The construction went well overall, but it was a pain as far as figuring out when the installers were gonna show up. My understanding was because they were working with different contractors, there was no telling exactly when they would show up. But overall, they got the pool done way ahead of time than what they had initially mentioned. They did a good job.

I was happy with the pool, but I did have to call them back not even a year later to drain my pool because there was some grouting that was coming off near the tile line and some plaster that was coming off. So that was a little bit frustrating. But they did come out eventually and took care of the issues. I wish I used a different company in the sense of quality work. My plaster isn't as smooth. It looked a little bumpy in some areas. I feel like it stains easily. I have another stain that I don't know where the heck it came from. I was living in another house that had an existing pool and I never saw a net leave marks on a plaster before. But on our pool, we had to switch out the net because the one they gave us was leaving marks on the plaster and we have to scrub it and try to remove it.

Our contactor's name is Larry and he was great. He came on over, explained to us the whole process and what options we could be able to have, and invited us to the brick-and-mortar store that they've got, where he's got his office and can show us some renderings and all different types of materials. He made things very comfortable. So, that was a good reflection of what the business was.

Working with Larry was really awesome because he walked us through, not only the process of the design, but also the materials and what are all the options and things like that. We did have to do a few back and forth with Larry when it came to the actual rendering of the 3D design. We had to give him a little bit more of creative advice. But overall, it was a good process. It took us a few little things, going back and forth. There was one time where we wanted a change, and the change was obviously gonna affect the final outcome. He acknowledged it and said, “Oh, yeah. This is gonna be here. When we did receive the PDF, it wasn't changed yet."

With such a large amount of money, we wanted to make sure that everything was documented on paper. But it was just that one instance. Past that, it was really good. We use an app, which is connected to the pool's different types of features, like the bubblers and the waterfall that we have, basically the spillover from the spa into the pool, and the lights. We also had something put in that's really cool, which is called the rain feature. We have a roof deck that goes over the spa and a little bit of a pool, and where we have a beam going across the edge of that roof on the bottom. We installed this water feature, where when you turn it on it, it rains and the water comes down. We could do that all from the app.

We could also set up different scenes or scenarios and time it. So, if we want to go on for 12 hours or an hour straight at a certain period of time of the day, we can set that. All that works really nice. So, we're pretty happy with all the automation that's done on it and provided with it, and how they initially set us up as well. Blue Haven not only took care of the pool, but also our decking. We selected this beautiful light travertine and after the pool crew came to do the last part of the pool, the entire decking was completely stained red.

We were working with our PM and she said, “Oh, no problem. That's gonna be clean towards the end.” They sent somebody to clean it. They just did one power washing but the whole travertine patio was stained again. So, it was the crew that was hired to come and work on the last aspects of the pool completely disregarded the fact that the decking was put down. We had to send pictures a few multiple times and then it came to a point where they said, “Well, if you guys wanna clean all of that, you're gonna have to pay for it.” So, it never got resolved.

They were phenomenal. I grew up in a construction family and those two words don't go together ever. Construction and phenomenal do not exist, but Blue Haven makes it happen. In fact, the Blue Haven manager in the area came out and spent two and a half hours on my pool deck helping me better understand how to use my pool chemicals.

I got a gunite pool and I chose the tile colors, the pebble colors, and the decking. It was Citadel Blue Pebble, but we changed it for this one. It's in-ground and has a swim ledge. It's a beautiful pool. We have an app on the phone that runs the pool heater, the pool cooler, and the pool system overall. There are two different apps. There's an app to do the chemicals and turns on the cleaner. Then there's another one that turns on the light. With Blue Haven, you get what you pay for. Blue Haven Pools & Spas' designer was very good. I brought a picture of what I wanted and Blue Haven drew it up. It was easy and simple. We felt comfortable. There were a few times that we had a bit of confusion or miscommunication, but it wasn't anything that impacted our experience. The only thing negative was we signed our paperwork in June of 2023 but they didn't start until October. They kept saying it was permitting, but our city only takes two weeks to turn around a permit. It was on their end, and that is the miscommunication that I tended to earlier.

The gentleman may have accidentally submitted the paperwork to the county instead of the city. Something wasn't right because it took longer than it should have, and nobody ever communicated that with us. That was a bit concerning. It should not have taken that long. But once that was done and we got that squared away, it was quick. Blue Haven broke ground in October and was done by February.

The workmanship is good. We're very happy with the final product. I love that I can control the pump and lights through the app. Unfortunately, since then, we have developed a leak that they have not been able to identify. We cannot figure out where this water is coming from. It has been a bit of a challenge. But they are working on it.

I heard about Blue Haven Pools & Spas because when we first moved here, our neighbors told us that was who they went through. But after doing more research and getting to know people, that was a majority of who people used. So, I liked the company as a whole. I like the hospitality. They felt down-to-earth. They didn't seem pressuring. I like that the designer was a vet. He lives two streets over from me, so it wasn't somebody that I had to talk to over the phone. The project manager was also a vet. It was cool because my husband is a vet. If we needed questions answered, they were right there or a phone call away or text message away. It was a quick process, too. They started digging for a hole mid-August. It was officially done at the end of September.

We originally wanted the hot tub. We ended up doing a waterfall and no hot tub. We decided against the hot tub just because we knew we wouldn't use it a lot. We decided to go with the water feature instead. After the final look of it, I wish I had done either a ledge that you could sit on and expanded it just a bit more and added some reflector type things on steps so we could see them better. But the lights are cool. I can set my schedule with the lights and the pump, so we don't have to go outside if it's pouring rain or cold. We keep our waterfall on all the time anyway because we like the sound of it.

Go for it. We're in that pool every day. My daughter and husband got in it when it was 60 degrees in that pool. We have our own oasis and we got to design it. We got to pick out what we wanted, from the tile to the stone around it. We ended up going with concrete around the pool instead of the brick. A lot of people that I know that has gone with Blue Haven did the pavers. I'm we did concrete. It gives it a smoother look. And that way, the pool stands out more.

Our designer said, “Do 3 to 5 feet.” Going from 3 to 5 feet, I decided to add that additional foot for 6 feet. I'm honestly glad I did. That's something that I would let people know. And when they draw out the pool, not to think that it would look smaller. Our pool is small but big enough for our family. We have a cleaner that comes out weekly. At the beginning of summer, pollen was bad. We didn't have somebody come out weekly, so the pool messed up. We had pollen stains. But now, we have somebody come out every Friday. Spend the money to have a pool cleaner because you don't have to keep up with anything.

From what I've heard from everybody else who's built a pool with other companies around here, it was the same deal, but I didn't realize how disconcerting it would be to have all of those subs. We have a tall screened-in porch so it was next to impossible for us to do the sheeting that would be necessary for whenever they spray gunite in a pool. You wanna have windows and screens plastic sheeted off because that gunite is terribly difficult to remove once it's been sprayed and it depends too on how good a subcontractor you have on the gunite. They also had to put plastic over the solar panels.

The other part of the coordination is not only do they work with subcontractors, but you have to have a separate contract with a landscaper. If you don't have them come in, then you're dead in the water until the landscaper can get to you to do all the things and put the fence back up. We have a dog and our neighbors have dogs as well. It was a cacophony for a couple of months, trying to time when we were gonna let dogs out and supervising dogs that were used to having a fence perimeter, and us used to being able to open the door and let the dog out.

They had an understanding with the landscaper that worked in our favor. But the morning that the gunite guys got here was the morning that the landscaper couldn't get here until 8:00. He was the one that was crawling up on the roof. The gunite night crew arrived at 6:00 a.m. and one of them crawled up on the roof and put the sheeting on the solar panels for us. But there was only one English speaker in the group. His English wasn't terrific either so I was standing there with my phone on Google translate and trying to be sure that I was communicating correctly what we wanted.

But it was amazing that they got anything done during that intense heat. I had a blank backyard and it looks gorgeous now. I've been very pleased. We had great tile people. The people who did the pavers are very skilled craftsmen. The planning and workmanship were well done. Nobody else that I've talked to has had any kind of experience that was better than ours. The pool is beautiful. It's a 9,240-gallon free form pool. It's 3 feet at one end and 5 feet at the other. I would have made it deeper and longer though. I've got a spa on one end of it. I thought my husband wanted the spa, but it turned out he wasn't as hot on it as he thought he would be so it doesn't get that much use. But it makes a beautiful feature because the water overflows like a waterfall out of the spa into the pool.

I would recommend Blue Haven. It was a very easy and flexible process with their designer. He came to our house, which was nice. We did all the design on the computer and made changes as we wanted before signing the final contract. Some of our plans had to change because of our slope and landscaping issues at our house, but everything was smooth. Before starting, they made sure that we were all in agreement with our current plan and the changes. Jessie was our main contact person. She just emailed everything or I called her if I needed to. Everything that was gonna happen through each step of the process was communicated. I could also call the other men if I had any problems or questions. They were very helpful as well. They started in February and were done in May. It was supposed to be done a little bit earlier in May, but we got two weeks of super heavy rain.

We're very happy with the pool. It's beautiful. We should have done it years ago. We're glad that we did some of the extra features. We did the color lights, the bubbler, and an upgraded plaster. We did the in-ground floor system so it mostly cleans itself well. We love the smart features of our pool. It's very tech-savvy to use the screen by the pool equipment and also on our phones.

Issue is being fixed this week!

    Original Review: July 30, 2024

Unfortunately, I have encountered a few issues with Blue Haven. From the beginning, the communication has been off and we were not advised of things. For example, we were not advised that for our county we needed an additional barrier for the pool because we have a drive gate. This was something that should have been mentioned at the beginning but it wasn't done until after the contract and we had to pay $1,100 to add a fence because of this. Not to mention they damaged our front lawn and left dirt killing our grass which was not included in the area for the pool. We received notices from the HOA because of it and had to pay to replace the SOD in this NON damaged zone area.

They also broke our irrigation line that was not in the area of the damage zone and failed to advise of this. It took us turning on our system and water was shooting up from underground. We also had to pay for that. More recently we have continued to have flooding on our Lanai because of the way they grated the outside dirt next to the decking on one side which keeps water on our property causing it to flood our porch/lanai. Our course we have brought this to their attention only to be told that we have to pay for it.

Unfortunately with the horrible communication, we were unprepared for this and now we have to remedy the flooding situation on our own no different than the other issues. It is truly frustrating when you pay for a service to be done and there is no accountability from the company or they won't pay for the services to be done! I would not recommend Blue Haven to anyone at this point. This is completely unfair and nonsense.

Blue Haven was recommended by a neighbor and it was an excellent experience with them. It was one of the best positive learning experiences of my life. They said I would have to wait because they had a backlog, but they were the best. They were thorough and didn't oversell. The designer took a look at the yard and took my concept into consideration. We went through several renditions and laying out the deck space and what my needs were for grandchildren.

They first drafted the design then they came and put in the structure. They poured the foundation in the granite. It's an incredible process where they get up on these shoes that look like mini stilts and walk around and smooth it out before they fire the stone in. It was phenomenal. They also did a very intricate tile work. I picked out an expensive stone and upgraded everything 'cause I figured I'm here for the long haul. They would also point out features I might want or might look nice and also some of the downfalls. They also gave me some names of landscapers and told me the pluses and the minuses. They were very honest people.

The project manager, Zach, was there every day throughout the entire course, from November through April. They had everything lined up for the construction and Zach coordinated everything. There was never much lag time and that's a big problem here in the Mount Pleasant South Carolina area. There were a couple snafus at the end, but that's because Mount Pleasant has a boom in buildings that we might have had to wait a day or two for the building inspector. Zach had to be here for that building inspector to be on site when they showed up or they wouldn't inspect it. That was for the gas, the wiring, and the other connections.

I love the pool. I have a backyard oasis. I put in a very large area for sunbathing with the bubblers. I wanted something that would serve two purposes for the kids to play that was a very large platform on a very shallow surface for years to come and an area when there are adults here that we could put sunbathing chairs in. I also had them put the spa on the side, attached to the pool that had the constant water flow. I had them put in a waterfall and ledges around the pool where you can sit. It's also a tool where kids could grab on to that part instead of just grabbing for the side of the pool. I tried to think about safety and they told me how to place them, where to place them, who would go on this side and who wouldn't go on that side because one side is close to a landscaping.

One thing I didn't put on that I wish I had put on was a cooler. I didn't realize that the pool can get up to 90 degrees. But I incorporated the smart features in terms of the Hayward component, where you can control it from your home on your cellphone. From start to finish, Blue Haven was unbelievable. They were very respectful of my property and cleaned up every single day. They tested for leakage and gave me tips on the first time I filled it up. There was a form with the water department and they told me about how to go about doing that. They walked me through every step of the process. I love them. When I call them a year and a half later, they still call me right back. If I were to move from this house, I would use Blue Haven again.

The designer with Blue Haven spent a lot of time. We made a lot of adjustments to the pool on and off on phones, email and calls, and he was very receptive to our changes. They were giving us a standard rectangle with a pool shelf. My wife made some designs for the stairs and gave it a little bit more than being a plain rectangle so it came out pretty nice.

Blue Haven lays out a good plan, goes step-by-step in their construction, and oversees the project very well. There was no shoddy work done at all and it was done a few weeks earlier. They had all their subcontractors come in and each person knew what they were doing. The guy used to come after portions of the job were done to oversee that everything was done correctly. They had a good flow to it and were polite about their work. After going through the whole thing, there are a couple of things we would've done differently had we known, but the final result is good. We have the heater and the chiller. We also have two lights in the pool. We have the app that controls it, which is nice as well.

Ricky, the guy who was our start up contact was awesome. We were, overall, pleased with the design process as it went. But were displeased when we found out that what they had designed and what we had asked to purchase was different from what was doable. For example, the pool equipment had to be moved significantly from where they had put it and the shape had to change. As it was told to me at the time, the company underwent a significant change in management and we were dealing with the new management when it came time for construction. Our designer left the company. But the project manager worked with us to come up with alternatives we liked and in the end, we're very happy with the pool. We've got a couple of sheer drops and the hot tubs spill over. I'm also very happy with the Hayward equipment.

We were not happy with how long it took though. They broke ground in May of last year and it was done in October. We sat still for the whole summer dealing with permitting issues that they said had been resolved before they broke ground. They had to stop work and we didn't have a backyard for our kids all summer. I never expected the pool to be done, but I also didn't expect to not have a backyard. It was the fact that they were sitting idle that drove me crazy. But Ricky took whatever I was upset about with the project and muted it because the hand-off experience went so well. Our last touch with Blue Haven was a good one.

We were on a tight budget so we went with the basic design, which is what we told her at the very beginning. We wanted something that we could do laps in and she was able to make something suitable for us. It's a 14 wide, 21 feet long pool and we got the ozone device put on. Blue Haven's pricing was reasonable and I liked my comfort level of talking to them. Plus, we're in a HOA, so they knew what would pass. Their reps were pretty straightforward and working with them was great. We had some Zoom calls, then we went through designs, and they asked what we wanted. They took measurements right away, then they had our renderings. We then went to their facility and saw all the various options for tile, etcetera. We didn't know what we were looking for, so they were suggesting based on the shape of the backyard what would fit best as well as the restrictions on where to build the pool, how far it should be from the fence, and what the HOA required.

Then, we were able to flip on the spa on which side it went on. We added grassy areas and things that we needed if we wanted to run a gas line to the other side of the yard in case we were putting in a barbecue. Also, the landscaper that we used was recommended by them, so they all worked pretty well together. So far, we're happy with the final product. In terms of the layout, it's not cluttered and we'll have enough privacy from the other neighbors at least on one side because the other one looks down at us. But the pool was laid out well and it looks really nice.

They told us that we got to fill it, water it, and scrub it everyday, and I don't remember any of my neighbors that got pools doing it. So we did that three times a day. Their instructions are very clear and the person who came out to give us our instructions was very helpful, thorough, and available after it was done to answer questions. Blue Haven's reps were also patient because we went through multiple iterations but the process was as pain-free as possible.

Blue Haven's salesperson, Don, laid out the information and was there on the table and I said, "Wow, that's expensive." So, my wife and I looked it over, got a couple of other bids, and it put us on a back burner for almost 12 months. I called Don back and said, "Okay. I know it's been a little while. What do we do if we wanna go forward?" He said, "Well, we have to go back out and re-look at things." I said, "That's fine." So, he did. My wife and I looked at each other and said, "Well, let's get one more bid." We did and this guy on this other center was $40,000 more. I said, "What are we getting with that?" He said, "Well, you're getting your basic and you're getting this part of concrete and that part of concrete, this, that, and the other." So, we went back to talk to Don again and said, "What are we getting?" He listed what we were getting, and they've lived up to everything. We got a pool heater and a better filtration system.

We already sketched where the concrete was gonna go, and when Don was looking it over, he said, "That's not gonna flow good." The concrete guys were there already. They were forming it out. He said, "Mike, what do you think if you and Sherry would want this as far as an extension off of the one side of your pool? It's gonna flow better. But I'm not trying to oversell nothing. But if you wanna do that, this is how it's gonna look." I'm glad he did that because it would have looked like we placed a pool in our backyard and it's a little bit something going on to it. It flows off of our back patio.

The designer of that was more in-tuned to making my backyard look good instead of looking at what a bottom line would be for the company, which made me feel really good. I said, "Well, that's gonna cost me a lot more." He said, "We're gonna work that out. Let's just see if that's gonna work for you on the design phase of it." I said, "Okay, all right. Let's try it." The layout was so much and the cost of the concrete was so much and he said, "We'll split that, We'll just cut that in half and let's just roll that out. Because really, I think you're gonna be much more happier with that." I'm glad he did because he turned around and, when that was all totally done, it just flows off of our back patio, which was a true vision that he saw that I didn't see. So, with that, my hat's off to him. It was something that was useful within our family and his design was spot on.

We like the design of the concrete around the pool itself. We like the heated pool. The patio surface is cool to the touch. He said, "This is going to keep your concrete probably about 80 to 82, 85 degrees at the most. Once this layer is on and they treat it, you can walk on this -- doesn't matter how hot it is, it's not gonna get hot." So, that was another feature that we've talked through our conversation. We've gone to pools, we've gone to resorts and the pools. It was so refreshing, yet you have to walk from the pool to the lounger and your feet will burn by the time you get there. He said, "I got something that we can suggest if you want something like that really. And it'll actually look good because it's gonna come from your existing patio onto the new concrete and it'll just flow into where the pool is." Don is very creative and helpful. He makes oasis in the backyards of people's properties. It's amazing.

The designer pushed a lot of questions that we had on to whoever the foreman would be. Then the foreman, vice versa, said, “Those are things that should have been handled by the designer.” So while I was happy with the design of the pool, there were some information that I needed that I had asked upfront that was not provided, and as that played out, was an issue. Also, the foreman should have been on site more. He was rarely ever on site and because of that, we ran into multiple issues that could have been prevented. We could have caught some of these issues early.

I still have open warranty items that they haven't fixed yet, but Blue Haven tries to come out and listen and fix those things. Not everything is resolved yet. Other issues that we brought up were ignored, and we were told, “Well, you'll see when the pool is built, that won't be a concern.” Then the pool was built, and we were right and they were wrong. Like the location on where they put the lights and now a third of my pool isn't lit. That ticks me off.

The same foreman that we had was assigned somewhat to check out some of the work that was done under warranty. He also really pressured me to write a good review. So I ended up posting a Google review that was more positive than I ever would have because I felt that if I give this company and this foreman a bad review, are they going to honor my warranty or do as good of a job when they come out to fix issues?

We had a table with our pool. It mounts in the pool right below the water. I saw the foreman drop that table on to the pavers and scratch it up, and then pick it up, wipe it off, and put it back. He did come back later to me and said that the table had a scratch on it and that they were gonna have to replace it. It created weeks and weeks of delay, not getting the table. They did own up to it, but he straight up lied to me in my face, saying that he got it sent to them like that when I saw him drop it.

For the most part, working with Blue Haven was pretty smooth. They did a demo of the different materials and different pool types and they were knowledgeable about the pool experience. Then, they made the financing part of it simple and straightforward. They ran our credit and made sure that they found the lowest rate for us. Once we got financed, they set a date, came out, and started digging. It took about two months from the start to complete.

The only hiccup that we ran into was during the design process. They told us that we didn't need a specific drain and towards the end of the project, the people who came out to install the concrete told us that we did need the drain. There were finances that had to be added three quarters of the way through the project that were not accounted for. That kind of rubbed me in the wrong way, but they did close out the project professionally and had a great training session on how to use the equipment. They gave us contact for companies in the area that could help us understand how to maintain the pool. Overall, it was a good experience.

We went with the rectangular pool and we added a tanning ledge to it. It was an added cost, but they were flexible using the special along with the upgraded feature. I would recommend them. They get the details to make sure they understand what you want and they get in, do the work they need to do, get out, and move on to the next thing. That's how I prefer business to be done.

I would have not known what to do to get the HOA, so he was very good with that stuff. We had tons of options because of our backyard's size. We also got lights in the pool.

As far as the teams that would come and do each part of the pool, I didn't need to really communicate with them on anything. But they seemed very friendly. I dealt with the construction manager, so if there was any question, I would ask him through the process and everything was good through all that. All my neighbors know that we had a good experience with Blue Haven and everybody in the whole neighborhood was impressed. They could see how well Blue Haven did and how on schedule they were. We got 2 feet of actual 3-foot walking grounds, and the rest of it goes down to 6 feet. It drops gradually but you go down another 2 feet, and you can't touch the ground. With the pavers, I'm already having issues with some areas that are dropping down. We got a waterfall and that’s also been a problem ‘cause the water splashes back at the edging of our Jacuzzi. It causes a salt buildup along the side. They had to redo the waterfall one time and they redid it again.

It's a very basic design which they helped me with and with the stair outline. My wife has two bad knees so they made the stairs less steep. I give them the highest recommendation possible.

I told Blue Haven what I wanted and we worked together to come up with something. My husband freehand drew it on a piece of paper and said that was what we wanted our pool to look like. Then they designed it on the computer and showed us what it would look like with everything. I was able to go and figure out what I wanted for it and they put it in. The only thing that I had requested was a bubbler put on my sundeck to help keep the water stirred up so dirt doesn't collect there. But I'm so glad that they suggested we put a little waterfall on there, because it improved the look of the pool and I enjoy having it. When I'm spending money on a large investment like that, I want it to be what I want so that I can enjoy it, and they were able to deliver.

Everyone was also great during the construction process. All the teams that came knew how to do their jobs. They did their job efficiently, and upon conversing with them, everyone was polite and nice. They were able to answer questions, too. Communication-wise, some of them spoke different languages, which was fine because I just use the translator app on my phone and they were able to understand what I wanted. I had a good time visiting with them, and they didn't mind me being around the construction zone. But I was very careful where I walked and made sure I was aware of what they were doing so I didn't get in their way.

One of my favorite things is the pool system because my family has a German Shepherd who sheds tons of hair and she likes to go swimming in the pool. So I made sure I had the best of the best pumping system so that it would turn over every bit of the water either once a day or twice within a 24-hour period because I know her hair is going to be in that swimming pool. So, my pool stays relatively clean even though she gets in there. And a lot of the hair gets trapped in the skimmers, so that means the suction power of the pump is pulling that water through the skimmers and the hair is getting caught in the baskets. So far, my husband and I had to clean our filtration system out twice since they put the pool in just because that first initial startup sucks out all the rest of the loose plaster that's still coming off and everything that’s setting.

Blue Haven worked out for us and we love them. As for the price, everything was disclosed to us in detail. When I added on a few feet more of concrete and the concrete was expensive, we paid a little extra for that. But otherwise, everything was priced within a reasonable range. When we told Blue Haven that we were interested in building a pool, they came out and asked us what we were interested in, then they didn't bother us. They waited for us to make the move. They left materials for us to look at and that was satisfying to me because I'm one who doesn't like to be bothered a whole lot.

For my friends who are looking into getting a pool, I would suggest that they do their research but I would also tell them that Blue Haven did an exceptionally well job on our swimming pool. I'm ready to enjoy it when it warms up to the perfect temp. My brave children who can stand the cold have already been swimming in it this year.

We were happy with the installation. The manager and the team lead are all good with communication. I had no problems with them. When I needed something, they were there. They were addressing my issues. My next-door neighbor had a pool also being built at the same time, and they had issues. I didn't. I was happy with that. They completed the construction as they promised. It started in June, and it finished in October.

It was the first time my wife and I ever had a pool built and the experience with Blue Haven was very informative. We had never done anything like that before so we didn't realize how the rep could design the pool with us standing right there telling him in our mind's eye what we would want but he was able to do that all in his graphic design. It was really easy and we could see what our yard was gonna look like before they even started working on the pool. The paperwork and all the stuff they did for us were really nice and our project manager was really good. Even when there wasn't anything planned for a week, he would still contact us and he kept us in the know about when they were gonna be doing what and we could make plans around it. There were tons of people coming in and out of the yard and he stayed on top of it. My mother and father-in-law are having a pool built and we've requested the same project manager.

The customer service from the design and the build was very good but they're a little hard to get ahold of. I've had a couple of questions and nobody hardly answers the phone there and it usually takes them a while to call back. Also, I found it a little bit weird that it's only a one-year warranty. But other than those, we like everything about the pool and we really like the lights.

It was great with Blue Haven Pools & Spas. Daniel did a good job on the 3D drawings. Every time we'd make a change, he would redo the drawing so we could see what it was gonna look like. They changed things when we needed it to be changed and did things to make it fit the city code. It was a big construction project. There were little bumps in the road about some plumbing and we had to change some equipment and tune in the system. But they were very honest and did everything they said they'd do which was to build a great pool. We have the OMNI automation system and a SmartPure system. We also have LED lighting. The main thing was honesty with Pedro who runs the company. He did everything he said. They've also come and fix things afterwards for free.

We sent our idea to Blue Haven and they sent us back one shape of pool and we went from there. We added a tan ledge and changed the location of the steps. We gave up some things because the cost is outrageous but what we were willing to spend is pretty much what we got. Our salesperson, Pete, was very helpful beyond the actual sale. He made it easy and we can text him if we have any issues. The project overseer man was our most difficult interaction because he was so busy and hard to get ahold of if we needed something or if we had a question or something wasn't right. He was great when we were elated about everything going on but the second that we had a snafu, there was lack of communication. But we were always able to get ahold of somebody who could go get him.

Also, the biggest downside is that we were promised that the pool would be done in time to use last year and it was not. There was a hold-up at the beginning with the engineer so we've not been able to use it or enjoy it. Then, last minute, we had to install a $4,500 electrical panel because the electric that we had wasn't sufficient. That wasn't something that was looked at before and factored into the contract. But we love how the pool has turned out. It's pretty and the water features are lovely. From what we could tell so far, we're pretty impressed.

They did a 3D drawing of what this thing was gonna look like before we even started. Anything I needed to change, they just changed right then.

They told us it would take 8 to 12 weeks to install it but they finished it in 5 and they did an awesome job. Their crew was here when they said they were going to be here to start and they were here every day that they said they were going to be here -- always on time, never once did I have to wait for them. Also, they're so detail-oriented. One of the lights that goes around it was a different color and they made sure that they came back and changed it. I didn't even notice it but they did and they changed it right out. They were very polite and they kept me informed with every step they did. I knew exactly what was happening and what day it was gonna happen. Every one of them and their departments was awesome. Even after the pool has been installed, I had a question on something and they get right back to me.

I decided to go with Blue Haven because I liked the energy of the lady who sold the pool and she explained everything step by step. She really sold the pool and let us see exactly what it would look like. She made me see our yard in a whole different light. She met our expectations. I went in to pick out the tile and coping and all the finishes. She made it easy, letting us see everything together and then was able to put it in the computer design so that we could see what it would look like all together. So, I really loved that. She was friendly and helpful. Also, Blue Haven made financing easy and that was the biggest part. Even the installers would come in and let us know everything that was going on and the next steps to come. So, I felt very informed through the whole process. I had a very good experience.

I love the pool. We were able to get lights in the pool. My only regret is not getting the heater. So, that's something I'm gonna look into later. The construction process was long only because of the weather. So, the weather played a huge part in it. It started in the rainy season. The pool was finished by May 5th. We had our first official swim date. It was nice. We got the lighting in the pool, and I love it for the lights show. We got a waterfall feature, which is nice as well. We have two benches. One's longer than the other, which the kids love because they lay out on it even though the water is above their head. They like to lay under the water on the bench. I feel like it's a pool that's good for my whole family.

We went with a company that seemed to have the best reputation for getting the job done and following through, and that was Blue Haven. The designer listened to our desires. We've made some adjustments along the way and it was not a problem. It worked out well. We wanted a smaller pool that was equal to the patio that we had built, which is 22-foot wide. Blue Haven could only go out so far 'cause there's a pond so there's a fence. We had them build a 10 by 20 plunge pool, which turns out great for us. We put some tiles at the edge of the steps. Our neighbors had recommended getting the glass tile inlays at the end of the steps. They didn't get them and it's hard for them to see the edge of the steps. We got to choose the color of the final material, which turned out great and the tiles.

I just filled out an application online, and then their person who's in charge of the loans communicated with me what was going on with the pool loan, the steps, and the payments. If I had any issues, it was easy to reach out to them via email. They’d reply back usually the same day, but it was always within 24 hours. I used to be in banking, so it was a really easy and pleasant experience.

Communication was great. We had a few hiccups, but that was mainly due to weather and my yard. It was out of their control. They came in, and fixed the issue from the last pool contractor. I feel we built a really beautiful pool. They pointed out things that would cause issues with my design down the road. So, the overall design is not what I originally imagined. But the final design, in my opinion,is a much better pool and functionality and cleaning. Mine would have been very difficult for what I wanted. I would definitely recommend Blue Haven. All the designers there are willing to help each other. When I couldn't get ahold of one person, they would have someone else reach out to me. They were honest, upfront, and straightforward.

My experience with the Blue Haven designer is a mixed bag. Originally, we had somebody come out. We were very happy with him. He was from the Exton office. We were given a number, kind of scratchy on the pad, with loose details of what we wanted and estimated prices. Then the pandemic happened and when we called back a month later, he was going out for an illness. So, we were moved to the head office. At that point he came out, the design had to be redone. There was a lot of going back and forth on design and where would it be located, but my dissatisfaction was with the numbers of how much this would cost in actuality. Whereas, I feel like maybe with the person from Exton, I might have been able to get those numbers sooner. So, that created a delay in our process.

We went to contract, but the pool was done a year and a half later, and I understand a lot of that has to do with the resources that were available. With the process of getting the paper and the survey, we were told, "Oh, if you have somebody who can do the survey faster with the site plan, then you should do that." That was the way we went, but I feel like that dragged things through a little bit longer. Finally, when we got approval from the township in the fall, it was too late to start. So, then we had to wait till spring, which we were fine about. It was just taking a long time from the contract that we signed in the spring to the fall to get approval from the township, with all of that time. So that seemed to take a lot of time. Then in the spring, started in March, things were going fast. But then all of a sudden, it was like we were dropped and they didn't come back out until July. We were like, "Where are you guys? Why aren't you here?"

We had to start applying pressure by phone calls and emails. Then things got picked up again. We finally had water in August to be able to have the pool filled, but then their landscaping person seemed to drag their feet. So, we were walking on cardboard and things like that to get to the pool because it was all dirt around the pool. That was going on until September. I would not have used their landscaping person. I had a landscaping person. He could have gotten us sod a lot faster and would have avoided all of that, but we are at the mercy of thinking that, when you're signing up for the pool, that you need to use their subcontractors.

I liked that Blue Haven's prices were compatible, and the salesperson wasn't pushy. He left it in our court and said, "Okay, give me a call if you're interested and you wanna go with us." The financing part was really easy because once we got the estimate, they sent that over to a bunch of different in-house financing. They had asked if we wanted to finance. So, I went online and filled that out. Then the person that was handling that reached out and said, "Here's a couple of offers. What are you interested in?" Then we just picked. It was really painless.

The only thing is the other companies gave us a 3D kind of video to give us an idea of what it would look like. Whereas, Blue Haven's salesperson just went old school and did it on graph paper. We already had an idea since we went through other companies to get an idea of what we wanted, but for somebody who went through Blue Haven first, that would be a negative effect as far as them choosing because paper versus seeing what your backyard might look like might have a negative impact on how they're gonna decide on who to choose. As far as the design, he let us pick. He just gave us different options.

The final product looks better once it's in person. Everything came out great. Timing-wise, we're happy about it. The cleanliness of the workers was great. They had brought us a couple of products of different tiles, but then we ended up going into their office and they had a showroom of everything. So, that also helped besides them bringing photos and videos of past customers.

When they excavated, it shocked us that it was done in one day. That was shocking because we expected a couple of days of digging or moving around. Everything was done within one to two days, each process, which was amazing. Because you would think a pool could be weeks and weeks. Also, there was really no big mess. The only time there would be a pile of dirt was when they were filling the decking to level it out and make sure all the dirt was level before they poured concrete.

The pool has the lighting. We have our phone which we can program. I can turn on the waterfall or change the lights to whatever color I might want that day. If I wanna stop the filter from running ahead of time, versus going out there and flipping the switch. It is the same with the heater and the spa. I thought that was cool. They set it so the little vacuum is programmed to just run at a certain time. So, I don't have to worry about any of that. The overall ambiance of just looking at it and listening to the water is so relaxing.

We looked at about five different companies and Blue Haven came out and gave us a quote. Theirs was competitive with some of the other companies. Also, there was just something about Chris when he came out with Blue Haven that was wonderful. He was so detailed and patient. We met Blue Haven also at their location on Ashley Phosphate. It was a wonderful experience. Then COVID hit. Chris called and said that they were gonna stop building for a while. He said, “After COVID, we believe price is gonna go up. We think anywhere from 20 to 30%. Do you wanna lock in?” He told us that locking in meant that it locked in our price for one year. We said we were okay with that.

COVID went for two years. But at the end of the first year, Chris called again and said, “Hey, you guys wanna lock your prices in?” So we told him that we wanted to lock the prices in again. After they started opening up everything and freeing everything again, we wee ready to build a pool. It was fascinating because all the other pool companies called us and said, “Hey, if you guys still wanna build your pool, we'll come out. We need to update the estimate because pool prices have went up 30%." But we told them, “No, thank you.”

I reached out to Chris and told him that we were ready to build. He said, “Perfect, because you guys are locked in.” He said that it was hard getting parts. But he told us, “But what we did was when COVID hit, we started buying things we knew we would need to build our pools.” So they were ready. They were so wonderful. They came out and we met the other Chris who was the project manager. They did our pool in a month and a half. They did not try to oversell us because he asked us and really listened. They listened to what we wanted. I drew up my design and what I wanted. He laughed and said, “I'm gonna clean it up a little bit, but I'm gonna give you that.” I appreciated that and he got it to perfection.

We got a 47 feet x 20 feet pool. The sun ledge is about 7 feet. Then they gave us so many extras just because he said we were kind. We paid 112,000 for the pool. It was just a great experience, even with the decking guys when they came out. Everybody that they did was a one-stop shop. We didn't have to go seek out anybody else. Everybody was one behind the other. We love it.

I put in a pool with another company but I didn't like the way they set up their fees because all the money was upfront before the activity was performed. So, they were using my money to finish up another job. But Blue Haven was just the opposite. I didn't pay them anything until the task was done. They had their work activities separated in different categories. When they finished one activity, they billed me and then when they finished another activity, they billed me. They were very quick and easy to work with. They let me come up with some of the ideas that I was looking for, and they took that and came up with a design for what I was looking for. They probably enhanced it from their experience so, the design came out good.

Through Blue Haven, you can buy ceramic tiles of crabs or fish or turtles and inlay them in the bottom of the pool. You can also get tiles that are glitter tiles that will sparkle in the sunlight and you can have those inlaid in the pool as well. So, they had a lot more creativity and had added features that we liked that the other company didn't have. The shape that we wanted was long because I didn't want a pool that looked like a spa and I wanted it wide so that you had room for multiple people. So, we designed it so that you walk into a shallow area that might be a foot deep, and that was about 5 feet x 5 feet for little kids. Then, it went down to the shallow one which was 3.5 feet and gradually went down to 5.5. Blue Haven’s pool has a controller and I can change the lights and change the colors and the timer. It's a rental house. So, I hired somebody to manage the pool and he's familiar with Hayward computers and their technology.

I was dealing with one individual and he updated me all the time when activities were taking place. They have a website where all the data goes and I can see the pictures of what they've done, what their next task is and when it's scheduled for. It was easy to know where they were and what they were working on. If I had any issues, I could call my contact and he'd take care of it. I was so impressed with Blue Haven. I've had people come up to me and ask for recommendations for pools. I've had one pool manufactured and this was another one, and I highly recommended Blue Haven over the other one.

I called up Blue Haven and talked to Brandy. She told me they'd dig in four to six weeks and all that happened. Brandy and her husband, Sean, came out to do the initial design. Then, the crew would come and do one thing and come back in a couple of weeks. It was a different crew each time.

The pool is a lagoon shaped with an overflow spa. I have a slide, which I bought myself because Brandy told me I could probably buy it cheaper than she could. I provided the slide and they installed it. I do have a problem with the slide. It leaks at the fitting. I called them and they came a couple of times to try to stop it but it's still leaking a little. I don't really know what we need to do, but I'm sure they'll take care of it if I reach out. Also, the pool has automated controls and I have the robot cleaner, a variable speed pump, a tanning ledge with the bubblers, and the flagstone coping, which is no extra cost for the flagstone. I could have gotten the regular coping for the same price.

We were happy with the whole process at Blue Haven. They helped us out and we were very open to changes and we used the app a lot to communicate with them. We enjoyed the whole process. We custom-built the whole thing. We had a waterfall feature that we like a lot and we added a spa and a bubbler as well. They also did it right within their window. They also answered any questions we had, which was nice, and they explained the process when we were out there with them. But they didn't bother us any time we didn't wanna talk to them. I like that the lights in the spa are all on the app. It's nice. The best part is I can turn on the spa when I'm out at dinner and have it warm by the time I get home. We would definitely use them again.

Their entire presentation of Blue Haven of being able to put it into a 3D drawing and showing me what it could potentially look like was cool. Everything went well during the installation, too. Our pool is rectangular. The extra add-on that I had done was a tanning ledge and a couple of bubblers. We also made the pool a little bit bigger than their standard size.

The timeline was good. I had a little bit of an issue with some footprints at the bottom of the pool and they took care of it. The service after the sale was good with that. The only constructive criticism I would offer is that we got a pool heater, but they don't offer any service on it, which is a little unusual. When there was an issue with the pool heater, I had to find who could do service on the pool heater and have them come out and work on the pool heater. Turned out there was nothing wrong with it. It was something that my plumber did. But the fact that they put the pool heater in and they don't service the pool heater was a little disappointing.

Blue Haven has good prices compared to some other people I looked at. They were easy to work with. Weather held us back a little bit a couple times. But as far as it going up, it was quick. The building process was great. We got what we wanted. But it was the final stages of Blue Haven that we had issues with. Once the pool was built, they did what they call pool school. That did not go too well. Some of the equipment was installed incorrectly. We had to have someone come out and fix some of the stuff that was installed. Then we were told that the size of the heater that they put in for the size of the pool we had was way too large. But I was never told that by Blue Haven.

There was also another company that Blue Haven partners with and they completely messed up our chemicals. The pool had to be completely drained a week after filling it and redone. It was a learning curve at first because Blue Haven did not have people that knew what they were doing for our size to do it correctly. We were taught incorrectly. But once we got that figured out, it's been very easy. Now, we got it and we handle it ourselves. We love the pool. We use it a lot as a hot tub. We get in it several times a week and my kids love it too.

Blue Haven sent a sales rep out and he was a nice guy. He's been doing it for a long time so he was able to show us what we could do. He looked at the backyard and we agreed on what we would want and what that would cost. That went well. Then, we worked together with the designer to come up with something that we liked. They convinced me that the size was the right size. I would have made it a little bigger, but I'm glad that we didn't.

During the construction process, we constantly worked with them, which I wasn't expecting. If you don't, it doesn't get done the way you want it to so you have to oversee what they're doing. There were questions that arose and modifications that were made during the process. But they beat the timeline and the pool was perfect. Everything around it was a disaster, though. They didn't clean up after themselves. They cleaned up the materials but they dug a huge hole and destroyed a bunch of stuff around it and they left all of that as they were. It was quite expensive to clean up after them so it ended up being more expensive than we thought because of the aftermath.

We love the pool, but the color of the finish and the color of the top don't come together very well. We would have picked different colors had we known that. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend Blue Haven. They were pretty nice people to work with. It's an expensive thing, but if money is no object, then they're great people to work with because they'll take care of everything. They're very responsive and they would always help me, answer the phone, and come over if I needed something.

Blue Haven is more efficient and has better pricing than the other companies I got a quote from. I also like that they are local to the area. The sales people did great. I had sent them the survey of our lot, and they already had something drafted and ready to go by the time they got here to show an idea of what things would look like. I appreciated that aspect. They were also offering a special during that month. Our lot is small so I was limited on what I could go with, but they helped with showing me how it would fit and look in the yard to pick the right choice for us. They were open to me adding things and telling me things that might not be necessary for that size.

Once construction started, our project manager, Mike, was great. He kept in touch with me constantly. I could still call him today and he would help me with something if I needed. During the construction process, there was a language barrier with the crew but they did a great job. If an issue arose, they made sure to bring it to my attention. We love the pool. We can't swim in it right now but even just sitting outside by it at night with the lights is so nice. We added the tanning ledge with the umbrella holder, and it's got a jet on it as well. It adds a fountain feature.

I liked the person that I met with initially but the rest of the process was a horrible experience for me. My experience with the construction workers were not pleasant. I had two new gates put in and they destroyed both of the new gates. I had a fence that they had to use to enter the property and they broke the fence and the fixture. I had a electric power thing installed so that I can have electricity to the pool and they broke that, too. They did a lot of damage and they were not clean. One of the guys went behind my shed and relieved himself, which was not cool. I told Blue Haven all that in an email.

I don't really like my pool. The coping is chipping and I realized now after I talked to another pool installation company that coping is not a necessity, which I was led to believe that it was. Now, it's constantly chipping and the grout in between the coping is coming out. I'm gonna have somebody have to come out and redo the coping and my pool is just over a year old.

Also, I have the multi cyclone, which I think was a waste of money. I didn't really need but they upsold that. I don't like it. It's hard to clean. Then, they didn't leave me a manual with the pump. They told me it didn't come with a manual. It took me about six months after getting my pool installed to get them to give me a manual. They lead me to believe that Blue Haven is the manufacturer of the pump so the Blue Haven name is all over it, but Blue Haven is not. It's actually a Hayward pump.

I paid 59,000 for my pool and the same size pool was on sale for 45,000 less than 15 days after they finished mine. I think they should have given me that price since my pool was not completed totally. And when they did their marketing and gave the little design, they sold me what I thought was two umbrellas but it's just two holes for two umbrellas. If they're not going to give the person what's in the picture, don't display it in the picture to upsell their product.

They ended up giving me the umbrellas but the holes are too close because they're not centered right. I can't use both of the umbrellas at the same time.

It was amazing when we first started with Blue Haven. The owner, Bob, came out and did an assessment of what it would take to do a pool. He was able to write an entire pool estimate right from a calculator. I found that to be quite impressive that was why I took him so seriously and ultimately did the deal with Blue Haven.

As a person who never had a pool, I was looking for Bob to give his guidance and instruction. Now that I've owned one and I understand it, you need to have a pool to be able to know how to shop for a pool. If you come in cold, then you need someone to tell you, "If you pick this option, then you're gonna have to do this and this is how you're gonna have to maintain it. This is the drawback of doing this, but here are the positive of doing this." In the case of our discussion, we never had those types of conversations. On the placement of the pool equipment, we could have had a discussion about that and what the drawbacks would have been of putting the pool equipment where you put it versus somewhere else and possibly me not having to have the sound of the pool motor right on the other side of the wall of my bedroom. Bob just gave me a price and I thought a pool is a pool is a pool, but it's not. I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life.

The pool is very well-installed from a building perspective. Bob was here all the time and monitored. He made sure everything was as it should be from an installation standpoint. But he never gave me instructions on how to use my pool. I asked how long does the motor run but they didn't know. Most pool owners will tell you to run your pump 24 hours a day and at variable speeds. The utility bill is as high. I could get away with running it at 1,000 RPMs, which you wouldn't even hear it at all, but I can't run it at 1,000 RPM because I was told the water features, at 1,000 RPMs, water won't make it into the pool. It'll splash on the edge. It's more important for me to have a very quiet pool all day and run the pump 24 hours a day and we probably don't need to put these waterfalls everywhere.

It's important for people to come meet with you and make sure you understand every component of it, what your pool pavers are, what coping is and where that is on the pool, what it takes to learn how to use the machine that you're buying to run the pool, who can you work with if you wanna put other features on the pool or if you have questions, and ask if it's important to you that it connects to your phone. That wasn't told me. I can't control my pool from my phone. All those things need to be part of the pre-pool meeting before you sign with someone.

The customer service deteriorated as the pool got built. Blue Haven never followed up with me. I've had several issues after the pool was built and it seems I have to beg for them to come help with that. The price was exorbitant too. As time went on, the prices got even higher. As we started building the pool, there were all these gotchas that came up along the way that crept the price up. They were things that Bob should have mentioned from the minute we were sitting down and that would have been very helpful.

The pool changes colors and has little features. I like it a lot. It's the best thing ever. It has changed our lives Blue Haven has good people. They're all respectful of our space.

Also, I wanted to see more examples of the plaster color. It was a really hard decision for me. It would have been nice to be able to look at different tiles if they had a sample in their showroom. I kept wanting to go back to the showroom to look at the tiles, but it was kind of awkward because that's not really what they're there for.

Also, there was an issue with the concrete and we didn't really get our way. But they cared. When they saw that there was a problem and that they were responsible for it, they don't even think about it. They fix it. When we did our contract, the rep told us the price of the concrete. We were unsure of the shape of the pool and how much to use for the patio decking. But he told us we had time. When they draw our pool out, we'll see it and we can change it. When it was time to do the concrete, we added more. But then, they charged us more per square foot.

That was wrong because we were in a contract. In the beginning, the specific question was asked. “Will it be the same price?” In the end, when we figured out that they charged us quite a bit more, that bothered us. If the rep said before we added concrete on, “Look, you can still add on, but the price has gone up.” we would have still added on. This was the only negative. For everything else, I would recommend them to anyone. They did an excellent job. All of our equipment is top-quality.

They had to put a thing on our spout for the auto fill and it's still dripping and no one's come back to fix it. We wanted the special part for the filter and the guy got confused on what we wanted. So we got something else that was more expensive and we didn't get the one we wanted. It was one little part we wanted that was supposed to clean the dog fur. But we got this part that helps to clean the water.

Blue Haven started super fast with the installation and then it was at a standstill. In two days, they had this pool dug. We thought we were gonna have this pool in a month. But after that, nothing happened. We just sat there watching this hole. We kept waiting and then it was two months. We were told that it would be a three-month process. There were a few times where my husband did a lot of yelling and there were times where he would call and the project manager wouldn't return his calls. So we weren't always happy. There was also a time when there was something with the gate and they had to put the mesh on the gate for the code. It was the only thing keeping us from having our final inspection. My husband had to go to the company that does the gates and tell them off. But the pool itself turned out nice and everything looks and runs good.

Blue Haven employed an independent architect to come here and give us a couple of designs to choose from. And we liked those designs the best. They managed people flow in and out of the house to the pool and kept the pool area safe. It took more than a year and a half to build the pool and the first thing that happened was the ground was broken. Then the electrical filaments were laid and the gunite support was established. They had to let that sit for a while to settle because they had to carve this place out of the hill. And it wasn't virgin ground, so they needed the time for it to settle. When wintertime came, they sprayed the gunite and created the shell. And once again, that had to cure for months.

Finally, we had another third-party contractor come in and do the excavating for the boulder wall and to build up the hill so that it would support the pool. Once that got the builder wall built, we had the concrete company come in for the decking all around the pool. After that, we had the fences, a pool shed, and a pool house put in. Then finally, Blue Haven came and did the plastering. And the water filled the pool within two days. So, it was a long process.

It's now an old pool but the quartz plaster finish did not degrade over time. It looks very good. So, when they came out to inspect it, they said all we needed was new tile and coping. So, that's what they did and that only took them three days. Then we filled the pool back up and we enjoyed the season with it. It looks fantastic. But the people doing the work marred the finish of the plaster when they put up parts of it and they were standing on scaffolding that did not support itself. They used the side of the pool to support the scaffold, which made the indentations in the plaster. It wasn't meant to support that. So, they had to come back and fix it.

I would recommend Blue Haven to anyone. They were willing to build the pool how I wanted it and their customer service was amazing. From the first time that I met them to the last day that it was completely finished, they did everything that I asked and also had an answer for every question that I asked. If there was an issue, they got it solved immediately. I gave them a deadline when I needed the pool built by and they had it done two weeks beforehand. It was a tight time frame, but they still pushed it. Even after, any time I've called them about anything about the pool, they've answered the phone immediately. When I have an issue, they send a tech out immediately that day. If not, the very next day. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company, whether it be a pool company or not. Their service was one of a kind. It was so good that my father-in-law didn't even need a pool but he had Blue Haven build him a pool too because of how good it was.

We love the pool. It is 22 x 41. There's a shallow end where the stairs go up to. It's eight inches deep for a layout pool on one end. I've got a step that goes all the way across the other end of it to get in and out of the pool with a big slide right there to go in. It's four and a half-foot deep on both ends, but five-foot deep in the middle. I got a volleyball net on it. Blue Haven also built a spa connected to it with a waterfall into it. At first, it was all new to us because we went from an above-ground to an in-ground. The maintenance of the pool is 10 times easier. It stays clear. I had a little issue at the very beginning, but it was because we weren't able to put salt in it at the time. We were still letting it cure and I got a little bit of algae. But as soon as it got algae, they sent their guys out. They scrubbed and got it all cleaned up. When I had one light go out, they came the same day and replaced the light. Other than those, everything has been awesome with the pool.

Blue Haven's designer was very good. He suggested to raise the hot tub, instead of being down in the pool, and I liked his idea. Our pool is a freeform one that has a tanning ledge and a bench in the back. It's got a pebble gunite finish and it's very pretty. I also have a tablet that controls color, fountains and the filters. I like being able to control it all from inside my house rather than having to go outside and turn everything on and off. The pool has bubble jets as well, which is my favorite thing.

The construction took four months and when their reps were putting the pool in, they were very good. But the follow-up was poor. I had some issues with the color of the gunite and at the time, my contractor had to leave for personal reasons. So, they gave me someone else and it was hard to get in touch with him. Then, I had to end up using another person.

Once the pool was finished, it was also really hard to get in touch with them when I needed service with the contracting part of it. They tried to fix it a couple of different ways and none of it worked. So they told me they had to wait until the water got warmer in the summer to fix it. But it was a matter of following up with them to make sure that they were going to come out and do it, and when they were going to do it. Then, I couldn't get anyone to come out to look at the gunite. I was blown off by one of the guys and he just would not come out. So I had to call and get the head manager to come out and look at my pool. At first, when they did the hot start treatment, they didn't do it correctly. They didn't clean it correctly, so they had to continue coming out.

Then I had to contact the pebble people because the color was so different than the original pebble stone color. So they did the hot start in August and I didn't get my final answer until about a week ago. Joe, who was the manager over it all, finally took the reins. He picked up the pace, helped me with some answers, and was willing to come out unlike the contractor that had been assigned to my pool after the other people left. But I had to do a lot of digging before I could get him. All in all, I would not recommend them because of the drama that I went through. It wasn't worth it.

When I asked questions, the designer was able to ask what my use would be and what I would want. She made some suggestions and gave me some options and what the price of those options would be as I tried to decide which things I wanted that would be within my budget. The financing was great as well. I just had to go online and fill out an application, and the lady that was managing it emailed me back all the paperwork and terms. All I had to do was fill it out.

David, the manager, texted and kept me up to date on what was going on, any time there was any delay in either materials or work crews coming. One time, a crew came to do something and they left a mess. As soon as I texted David and said, "I don't know what these guys were doing. They left a mess," he brought his own personal crew over and cleaned up the mess immediately the next day. It was taken care of. My pool connects to Wi-Fi, and I can do some things on the controller with the lights and the filter. The pebble finish has been my favorite so far. The next thing that I like after the pebble finish is some extra concrete that I was able to purchase and add in to make it fit the space where I wanted it and serve more purposes.

The designer from Blue Haven was great, very easy to work with and understood what the restrictions were for my small backyard. The pool is a regular long rectangle with three steps on the left side and a little bench on the right side. It's half a P, just small enough to swim and exercise in. It has LED lights that change colors for the light to the pool. I have some concerns though and I’ve reached out to Blue Haven. The Kool Decking that's around it is already chipped. Blue Haven said they were on it but I haven't heard anything in weeks.

There's also some discoloration, which I asked to be looked at and Blue Haven didn't bother. And then, the crew appeared to have moved some of my pavers that are part of my patio in the backyard and they didn't put the caulking in between them again, so now they're loose. I brought to their attention while they were building it that some of their people left garbage and food in my pool. And I made them come back and get it because that was unacceptable. I had to call the general manager a couple of times because the crew was rude. I asked them not to do specific things. They completely ruined my front lawn and broke sprinkler heads. They would say their boss knew they were gonna do what they were doing and to go ahead and call him. They talked to their customer like that. It was very bad.

The final product is good and I'm overall happy, but I'm a little bit miffed that I spent $80,000 for a pool and I can't get Blue Haven to fix something that is clearly under warranty. I had to remind Christina, the rep. She would say she would reach out to the contractor again. And still, nothing. It's been six weeks already. I did this early enough and my pool finalization date is mid-October. So, it's coming up quickly. I've already let them know about these things so, as far as I'm concerned, they will fix them under my warranty. I'd share some of my struggles with people and tell them to stay on top of the project to make sure it turns out the way they want it to turn out.

It's our first pool and we were a little on the fence about it for a few years before we decided to pull the trigger. So, we had a lot of questions. Erin was good at answering those over and over again throughout the process. Nothing was hidden. It was all in writing and all as it should have been throughout the process when the payments were due.

The pool is fiberglass and concrete, which is basic. And we did a heat pump and a standard filter. But it’s Hayward and they have a good system. The team was amazing to watch. They were very careful with our property. They came back and repaired anything that got damaged before the job was complete. All the work was good. We got a retaining wall around it and they did a great job with that. They were a very efficient team and it was seamlessly planned. It went fast once they broke ground. We did some comparisons with dealers directly and what pricing we could get if we were going to do it ourselves. And Blue Haven’s was a very competitive price, given the timing. Post-COVID and during COVID, things were in demand. It hurt but it was fair. The quality of the new pool is great. We love it and we're very happy with it.

We told Blue Haven what we wanted as far as the design. We got a rectangle pool, 14 x 28, with a spa. Considering that we are way out in the middle of nowhere, they did very well as far as people being here and getting it done. It was done a lot quicker than what we saw. It didn't take six months. They did say that it would take longer than it took, but it was completed in a very timely manner. I like the pool. It came with the LED lighting that changes color. What we weren't happy with is when they did the coping and put the grout in, they did a very poor job with the grout all the way around the pool and around the spa. They had to come back and redo that.

They had to come back two different times because the first time they came back, they didn't complete the job. Then the second time, they finally did it the way it should have been done the very first time. Overall, we're very pleased. In the beginning, when I first called to get an estimate on a pool, they said they would not come out to where we were. Then four months later, I got a text from the very person I spoke with asking me if I was still interested in a pool. He was the one that ended up coming out to give us our estimate on the pool.

We had a great experience with Blue Haven Pools. They were wonderful and everybody who worked on our team was good. We had some issues with lights and the polymeric sand coming out of the pavers, but they fixed it immediately. We love the pool. Things went well and the only negative is that when the salesperson comes out and they're telling you the length of time and when it would be done, they tell you it would be 8 to 12 weeks. They should stress that Florida has a lot of rain and things get delayed, so be more realistic with that time frame because it always goes over. Then the homeowner is upset because their pool isn't done. Had they said it could take five months, I'm thinking five months. I’m not getting excited that it's gonna be done in four.

I gave Blue Haven the plan that I wanted, and they fine-tuned it a bit. I got a 20 by 40 pool that's 4 and 9-feet deep, then I've got a 10 by 10 spa in the middle and a water feature that pours from the spa into the pool, so I get a nice tranquil sound. Everything was good with the construction, with the exception of two things. We had some electrical issues, but they were resolved. The only complaint I have with Blue Haven is the plumber was piss-poor. He didn't sink the pipes deep enough, which prevented me from putting in a cabana house, which I had on my original plan. That was the only bad aspect of the job. Everybody else was solid.

Dominic and Mary were the ones that managed the sale and the install, and they were excellent. The first guy who showed up with the excavator was outstanding. All in all, it was an excellent install and it was a good experience. The end product is beautiful. The only sore spot was the plumber. I told Blue Haven they should never use him. It was also during the "plandemic", so it was hard to get quality plumbers for that purpose.

The spot disappeared but came back. We noticed it when we took the leaf cover off the pool (April 2023). We again left several messages, calls, emails. Finally, after several months (July) a guy came and put Muratic Acid on it (the second time) and here we go again. The spot is now bigger than before and NO COMMUNICATION!!! We pay for Aqua Shop (which does a good job) to handle the chemicals and they've been trying to get someone to call us. But still ... no one's home!! Working with the designers was very smooth. It was electronic and I could actually put the pool in the backyard and make everything look the way we wanted it to. We told the designer what we wanted, he drew it and it all came together easily. The shape of the pool worked out really well, so we were generally very pleased with how it turned out. It has a water feature at the back and a rock wall that looks really nice.

The sprinkler system reroute was a little bit clunky. Also, we should have a way to fill the pool built in. I have to run a house from the wall to the pool versus having a piece of PVC plumbing inside. That was something that I wish they would have recommended though I should have known better. But other than that, working with Blue Haven was a good experience and I'd recommend them. They had a project manager who would come out every few days that I would interact with. The people who came in to do the construction were polite, professional, and respectful.

Timeline of install and equipment for pool itself seems to be well done. But DO NOT let Blue Haven handle the deck install if you are upgrading to natural stone. This part of the project is subcontracted and the installers (Best View Pavers) do not know how or do not care to properly handle the product. I made several requests that were ignored. I trusted that Blue Haven was proficient with installing stone pavers since they offer several options themselves as upgrade over concrete pavers, but unfortunately this part of the project was obviously not their area of expertise. Just applying a little more effort on the deck install would make a big difference on the end result. Use of wet saw and 1 step up on type of grout, both minimal expense in grand scheme of cost to put in a pool, would greatly increase the customer satisfaction of work done.

Also... once you sign the paperwork forget ever talking to the original salesperson. They are removed from the line of communication. Blue Haven keeps a barrier between those that make decisions on costs and those the customer speaks with directly. Getting straight answers and details is a challenge (answers to questions were usually replied with..., "This is what the office gave me"). Overall I would likely suggest choosing a different company for new pool install.

We called Blue Haven and once they came and gave us an estimate and gave us an idea of what our pool was gonna look like, and due to the confidence that they had, we decided to go with them. We liked the price, too. Our designer looked at our yard, measured for codes and things, and gave us an idea of how big the pool should be or could be in the area that we were looking at. They gave us a few different options as far as going wider or going deeper. I had a design in mind of what I wanted, so it wasn't really hard. I told them what I was wanting. They had their computer-generated pictures up with the stuff that we wanted, the looks that we wanted and different tiles and the pavers and different things. It was a pretty straightforward meeting. Within an hour and a half of the total meeting time, we had our pool design and we were very happy with it.

We have the builders app that the construction team went through. So, they sent us messages on when this was gonna happen, this was the next step here, and who was gonna be here for us. We did have a lot of the direct numbers of a lot of the construction heads. If there was an issue or if something did come up, we were able to get ahold of anyone of our crew members. Within no more than 15 minutes, we were talking to someone about what needed to be done. Our breakers at our house were tripping quite a bit. I was like, "This may put your workers a little bit behind. But I think they're just gonna have to tone down the number of tools they're using right this minute." We were able to get that fixed.

Other than that, there were no real hiccups. We were made to know what was going on very early on to when we knew the next step. There was never a question as to what was going on or how it was going. Everything was well explained in detail and in-depth, and in a manner where we knew and we were always in the know.

We went with an irregular shape. It's not just a regular rectangle. It's a gunite with tanning ledges, bubblers, and some sprinklers throughout the pool system. There are two seats that are built into the side, one in the deep end and one in the more shallow end. Our pool has a bubbler on the tanning ledge that bubbles up the water a little bit. We have three sprinklers throughout the pool design that were added, just to cool down and have the audio feature of water splashing. We didn't really want a waterfall, but it kinda has that water sound. They incorporated three sprinklers throughout the system.

We have LED-changing lights that can be programmed to go throughout all of them or set on one certain design. We have a heater. We did add a heater to our pool so we can have it year-round. The two built-in seats are a really good option for us. We got the PebbleSheen lining, so it's a little bit better. We did get an enclosure, too, and that's a huge thing for us. We really enjoy that. Secondly, we like the tanning ledge. Those are the two main things that we really love about the pool.

There were notable issues with the quality of work and customer service throughout the project. The coping work required several visits to address, yet the problem remains unresolved. Communication with the company fell short of expectations, in particular, with Vicki, Frank, and Nate, some ending quite hostile. I also encountered challenges with the initial cost estimate and experienced excessive delays in construction.

Unfortunately, the project remains unfinished despite the 6-month extended timeline. I observed issues with the pool plaster, tie-downs, deck, umbrella sleeve, and, most concerning, a leak, that requires attention. Throughout the entire process, I noticed a significant decline in the company's responsiveness and commitment to addressing and resolving these issues. I've attempted (more than 20+ times) to have a sit-down discussion with Blue Haven but was told that wouldn't happen unless I removed all company reviews on the internet. Pool construction: Good; Pool inground jets: Substandard; Pool Deck: Substandard; Pool equipment: JUNK! If BH is your choice, research and purchase your own pool pump, filtration system and UV Ozone. BH uses Hayward equipment, which isn't half bad. However, it's proprietary to BH, which makes it very difficult to get replacement items such as filters and UV bulbs. Research and buy your own equipment as BH equipment will fail you well before the five year mark. After only 4 years I have replaced the pump and the uv ozone system as BH proprietary JUNK has kicked the bucket! A price tag of over $6,000 in one month! Additionally, I discovered they installed a uv/ozone system rated for 20,000 gallons. Problem is that my pool is 29,000 gallons. Someone tell me how the math for that works out because in my numbers world it falls quite short. The pump just flat died!

As far as the inground jets go, they work well however, they do not cover the space that they said they would. They should have installed at least five more. Building a pool is a one time shot! You have to trust the pool company to get it right for you the first time. I do NOT trust BH to get it right! I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, the concrete company that BH chose (Sierra) has come out several times to fix cracks in the deck. They only put a bandaid on it expecting it to go away. By bandaid I mean paint over it with deck coating material. They refuse to do the right thing by grinding out the crack, filling with epoxy and then paint over with deck coating material. This is a battle I am stuck fighting on my own, but will remain relentless.

Additionally, the guy that initiates starting the pool equipment and explains all the functions and controls is very much not so pleasant. Forget about calling him for help; very condescending to say the least! Basically, once they are done building your pool, you are on your own! You may wonder why the rating they have is 4 stars or better... I am glad you asked! People tend to rate things in the honeymoon phase. I am not that person! I rate after long term use or when I am completely satisfied. I am quite certain you can tell which I reached first! I hope this helps you determine your pool company and you fail to have issues I have experienced. Most of all, enjoy your pool!

Blue Haven Pools & Spas is the go-to. What they tell you would happen will happen. My designer was James. He came out, listened to what we wanted, put a picture together, sent us the picture, and we ended up sitting on that design for a while because we got pictures and quotes from other pools and compared what we would get, prices and quality. We ended up pulling the trigger with Blue Haven.

They gave a date, but they didn't show up on that date. We were anxious to get our pool that we were, "When are they gonna come?" Whenever we reached out though, they answered, and would say, "We're coming today." I came home and there was a hole in the back. When they showed up, they did an astronomical amount of work. And they would sweep and blow down everything after every day.

I originally wanted concrete, but we ended up going with a paver decking around it. It's a free-form pool. It's 12,000 to 13,000 gallons, has a fountain, stairs on one end, and a tanning ledge. We also got the Hayward Logic pool lights, which were the new design, because most people have the big 8-inch, 12-inch pool lights. They don't do that. They do the small 5-inch lights that would not probably be good, but they gave three of those. They change colors. They dance to the music. They also included a bubbling feature, which is a fountain that's on the sun ledge that also has a light on it that we can turn on or, your pool parties or if you just wanna listen to the sound like a waterfall, but it shoots water in the air under the water. We can control it. It can be as low as 1 inch to as high as 3 or 4 feet off of us. I like the bubbler and the pool heater.

The construction went as planned. The workers did everything they said they were gonna do. All of the materials came in on time and they put in all the equipment the way it should have. They tested everything. We were waiting on some materials for the rest of our decking for some stone that was out of stock and they couldn't finish the coping until that was done. So, we included extra cement along with the project so we could do other things. The quality of my pool is good. And the equipment runs good. I'm a happy customer.

Bob, the guy who owns the store locally, seemed very knowledgeable. We told Blue Haven what we wanted and he designed it. Our house sits at the top of a hill. So we were going to put the pool in the front of the house on a slope. It was a bit complex because of the slope. But it has a 180-degree view of the mountain range so it was the opportunity to build something really beautiful.

The construction was finished last fall. It was difficult in that there was a shortage of concrete. We had a bunch of delays because of rain. But that was not the fault of the builder. I was overall satisfied. The build itself was good. But I would have liked a little bit more instruction on how to use the full equipment afterwards, and a little aftercare.

Friends ask me all the time, and I tell them that if they built a pool, it has to go through Blue Haven. I hear all these horror stories, but mine was really seamless. We went into the showroom. I got to pick out all of my colors and types of material, and it wasn't pushy. It was just explaining everything and letting us choose what we wanted to do and what was in our price range. Although we upgraded to the nicer plaster, the PebbleTec which is beneficial for us considering would be there long term. And knowledgeable on all the ins and outs so that we could pick where we wanted to spend our money was nice. Any time I needed to make changes, they sent me back a revised quote or contract. And all I had to do was electronically sign it afterward. So, it was very easy. They were on top of it.

I followed the designer from a different pool company because of how good he was. He gave me what I wanted without me even saying anything. He looked at my backyard and got to know me a bit. Unless I had ideas to insert, he just gave me a layout, and I could tweak it from there. We tweaked it a bit after he gave us the initial one. And it's beautiful. I love my pool.

I had a really cool project manager. From start to finish right after we finalized the drawings, he took over, and it was seamless. He told me everything that would happen and after every step, what would happen next and what just happened. And it went by fast. The crews were nice. They would come in and do their parts quickly. And they were pretty clean. That helps.

The hot tub where it's only on one side so you can sit there and look at the rest of the pool was a cool idea. And it has an infinity wall so it runs over like an infinity pool, which is cute and nice when you're sitting in there. He also put a water wall in, and it does make it. It has all the bells and whistles. We have three LED color lights. Everything is manually done through an app on my phone. I can control all of it. It's the Omni package. And it's cool. It also has the anti-freeze so it kicks on. It heats, but it has a heater in it.

We got a pool with a spa done thru Blue Haven. It looks beautiful. Everybody that's seen it is enamored with the pool. It's an ozone pool, so it's a salt pool using ozone as the coronation system. We also got the Aqua pod. We tried to download the app, but it's not been a successful journey so far. The quality of the workmanship and the actual install of the pool is very good. The administration, the coordination with the project managers, and the follow through were not as what I would have expected from a company like Blue Haven and the value of the pool that we put in. They were very quick to do change orders and do all the administration for the change orders, but they did not reach out to me to ask me if there was anything more they could do.

One of the things I shared with them was that I wanted make sure it was on the right time line. I laid out the expectation early, and to their credit, Blue Haven scheduled the day well in advance. They came out on a Friday and did all the layout so that when their dig crew came in Monday, they worked very well. Everybody knew exactly what they were doing. They went ahead and dug it, and they did it very expeditiously. Through the week they had come in and put all the steel and pipes in. By that weekend, they had finished the initial plaster. It sat for almost two months. What they relayed to us was the reason it sat longer than it was anticipated to be was because of supply chain issues.

When they got started back on the pool, they had brought the wrong stacked stone veneer. We reported that, and they realized their suppliers sent the wrong ones. They came and replaced the stacked stone veneer before it got installed, which was fortunate. The stacked stone around the spa and one end of the pool went very well. They did a good job of installing it. The cuts are right and the seams were well done. It was a clean job.

The tile guy did a good job on the tile around underneath coping. He was a little bit challenged with laying it around the tanning ledge and the steps because they have curves on them. But he did a good job at the end. They did a very good job on the Pebble Tec. Then, we filled the pool, and it sat for about 30 days. In that 30 days that the pool had been filled, we did exactly as they said, twice a day brushing it and keeping the water moving and making sure none of the chemicals that they put in would get settled in the Pebble Tec. Then Pool School came, and we were looking forward to that. The guy was very nice, but it was poorly done at the end. He did not explain all of the apparatus and options. He just breezed right through it with no written instructions or warranty books. That didn't go the way I thought it should.

The motor is insufficient for the pool. The pump, according to the label on the side of it, should not be more than 10 feet above the elevation of the base drain, and it's 12 or 13 feet above the base level of the drain. The pump can't pull the water like it's supposed to. It's insufficient in terms of its horsepower. It can't hold a vacuum, so therefore, the pump is having to run 24/7 instead of being able to turn it off and not have to burn power to keep the pump going. When you turn the pump off, it loses its vacuum, and it is incredibly difficult to re-prime the whole thing. We spent over $100,000 on this pool, and I don't wanna have to fight just to do basic weekly maintenance. It feels like Blue Haven dropped off once they checked the block. I haven't heard or seen from anybody. We also have one warranty item that we reported on the spa but haven't heard anything on when they're gonna come and correct that.

We got four quotes and they were all within a few thousand dollars of one another. I was asking for a rectangular pool at the time. Paul, the designer, said he would quote me on the size I have laid out and the depth. He also said he would give me some other options that could save me some money. By cutting corners, by making it round instead of square, I saved me some money and we added some more things. We added a chiller and more bubblers and still came in about the same as we were looking at other installers. He saved us some money and got us the same pool area, just not rectangular. I had no idea that it would be cheaper to build a double balloon as opposed to a rectangular pool. That was the selling feature.

The pool is big enough and small enough. The subcontractors that dug the hole and did the steel were all on the ball, and showed up when they were supposed to and did a good job. We had an electrical surge and it took out our control panel, and Blue Haven was up within two hours to replace it. Their store is good at checking the water samples and telling what I need to do to keep the water proper. I've been happy with them. I recommended them to a few people already. I've talked to Paul and he's attentive. He comes out and checks on the pool. So, all good. My wife and I were in the pool last night and I told her that the pool made it through winter. It was absolutely fine and everything was as designed, which was nice. We switched the chemicals, got the chlorine going in again and it was perfect. And we've been swimming in it for a week.

We changed our minds 1,000 times, but he was very patient and he did an awesome job. Then, there were scheduling issues during the construction. But you start one process, then wait for the next process to start. Once they started, it went through and the whole thing took 90 days to finish as promised. But we had a decking issue that we postponed the rest of the crew. If they would have continued, it would have been finished very well. So far, the quality of the pool is great. We did LED lighting and a higher level of the plastering. We did a lot of upgrading, too. Blue Haven's reps at the office were also very nice and I was very happy that we started with them. Whatever we asked, they did for us. If there was something delayed, they would jump on it, then do it all.

I was getting quotes and came across Blue Haven and I looked at their reviews. They weren't necessarily the cheapest, but they were one of the best prices, but with the absolute best customer service. Everybody else was kind of annoyed that I called them. Blue Haven made me feel like I wasn't a burden. They came out the very next day for a quote. The financing was the only hiccup we had. We didn't quite understand what they did as far as payment and that they only pay a certain percentage each time instead of the whole thing. When we tried to ask about it, the lady was like, “They shouldn't be bothering me with these questions,” even though she was our financial advisor. We didn't really like that. Other than that, it was good. The official manager person, Sean, was very helpful. He was like, "I'm sorry. We'll get it handled."

As far as the design, when we met with Corey, he said, "Hey, do you want circle? Do you want free form? Do you want square?" He asked us. Other than square, we didn't know any other options. So, he showed us examples. We went with free form. He came out the next day to get measurements. So by the time that we sat down with him, he had already had some samples to show us. From there, he took away things, added things, moved things, and expanded things, but we went with the free form. We have a water wall that's very pretty, and it works great. We love it. The pool is a good place to go and relax and it's a good addition to our home. Call Blue Haven. We've gotten done at least three jobs. We recommend them to everybody.

We had gotten a quote from another lender, but Blue Haven ended up working out to be a better deal for us. It was a pretty seamless process. The sales rep did a great job but he could have been a bit better at upselling. There were little things along the way such as the pool cleaner which, if we would have known what we were getting, we would have decided that it might be worth a couple hundred dollars to get a better one. We could have had more options on the design, too. He gave us a base and we tweaked it a little bit. But it would have been good to see what a rectangle pool would have looked like or maybe give us three options to choose from. But we only got the one design. Other than that, they were fabulous from start to finish.

If you like someone who's going to give you 100% communication where you're going to know what phase you're in at what time and they're going to give you their best, go with Blue Haven. The process with Blue Haven was very easy and they had the best resources for materials and the best option for tiling. We liked that they have large teams that would work with you. We could tell it was a very professional company. I worked with Gary for designing the pool. We had specific things that we wanted to do centered on our outdoor patio and we wanted a large sun shelf. He was able to give us 3D renderings of the different size options and the different layouts we could do with the space of our yard. He was very knowledgeable and knew what would work and what wouldn't work based on the space that we had and it was really helpful being able to visualize it. I also worked with a rep at the showroom for the tile and stuff and she was very nice as well and made it super easy.

We had a couple of snags with construction, though. Our fence was supposed to be removed for them to be able to fit into the back. We put in the contract that Blue Haven would remove the fence and put it back afterward and it might have been missed. I got the call and they were supposed to start. The guy had come out to see everything and said our fence isn't down. I said they were taking the fence down and he said they weren't. It turns out, it was in the contract and it was overlooked. Another snag was that it was a saltwater pool and they had hooked it up to be a chlorine pool. It was another miscommunication because it was always a saltwater pool. They had to come back out and change the equipment, which wasn't a big deal. We had two different project managers and there were some miscommunications from that. But all of them were always taken care of and worked out.

It hasn't been a completely seamless experience, but it's a great one and we love our pool. We have been very happy with the final product. It's exactly what we wanted. We had a couple of issues with the pump and every time, Blue Haven would come out and fix them. We lived in our pool all summer long and we can't wait to do it again this summer.
