The pool was installed in 2004 and the tile had started to come off. In the summer of 2023, we hired Blue Haven to replace the tile with new tile, reattach it, and put on new coping, which is the brick above the tile. They did a good job and did it quickly. They seemed efficient as well. The product is expensive but it looks nice and we're pleased.

I had Blue Haven install a pool. The designer was good. They had a project manager, Jason. He was new to the process and didn't have much experience. He was a really nice guy. But they don't have their own in-house workers. They sublet a lot of the work. So, there were some issues and difficulties with the third party labors. They didn't have organization. They didn't show up when they were supposed to show up. The quality of some of their work was mediocre at best. Overall, it was okay, but there were some things that could have been done better. I'm still under warranty with Blue Haven within the next few months and I'm having some issues that they haven't been able to resolve yet. So, I'm working with them to see how they're gonna find a way to resolve them with my pool equipment.

The designer pushed a lot of questions that we had on to whoever the foreman would be. Then the foreman, vice versa, said, “Those are things that should have been handled by the designer.” So while I was happy with the design of the pool, there were some information that I needed that I had asked upfront that was not provided, and as that played out, was an issue. Also, the foreman should have been on site more. He was rarely ever on site and because of that, we ran into multiple issues that could have been prevented. We could have caught some of these issues early.

I still have open warranty items that they haven't fixed yet, but Blue Haven tries to come out and listen and fix those things. Not everything is resolved yet. Other issues that we brought up were ignored, and we were told, “Well, you'll see when the pool is built, that won't be a concern.” Then the pool was built, and we were right and they were wrong. Like the location on where they put the lights and now a third of my pool isn't lit. That ticks me off.

The same foreman that we had was assigned somewhat to check out some of the work that was done under warranty. He also really pressured me to write a good review. So I ended up posting a Google review that was more positive than I ever would have because I felt that if I give this company and this foreman a bad review, are they going to honor my warranty or do as good of a job when they come out to fix issues?

We had a table with our pool. It mounts in the pool right below the water. I saw the foreman drop that table on to the pavers and scratch it up, and then pick it up, wipe it off, and put it back. He did come back later to me and said that the table had a scratch on it and that they were gonna have to replace it. It created weeks and weeks of delay, not getting the table. They did own up to it, but he straight up lied to me in my face, saying that he got it sent to them like that when I saw him drop it.

For the most part, working with Blue Haven was pretty smooth. They did a demo of the different materials and different pool types and they were knowledgeable about the pool experience. Then, they made the financing part of it simple and straightforward. They ran our credit and made sure that they found the lowest rate for us. Once we got financed, they set a date, came out, and started digging. It took about two months from the start to complete.

The only hiccup that we ran into was during the design process. They told us that we didn't need a specific drain and towards the end of the project, the people who came out to install the concrete told us that we did need the drain. There were finances that had to be added three quarters of the way through the project that were not accounted for. That kind of rubbed me in the wrong way, but they did close out the project professionally and had a great training session on how to use the equipment. They gave us contact for companies in the area that could help us understand how to maintain the pool. Overall, it was a good experience.

We went with the rectangular pool and we added a tanning ledge to it. It was an added cost, but they were flexible using the special along with the upgraded feature. I would recommend them. They get the details to make sure they understand what you want and they get in, do the work they need to do, get out, and move on to the next thing. That's how I prefer business to be done.

The designer from Blue Haven was very good. We told him what size pool we wanted, and the shape of the pool. We had an existing slope in the backyard. He had to come up with some designs to level the pool out and still make it look aesthetically good in our backyard. He followed through and gave us a great plan. If we didn't like it, he made changes to it to our specifications. He did it pretty professionally.

The construction was pretty quick. In about a week after we signed the contract, they were out here and started digging. They got it in about 45 days earlier than I anticipated. They were pretty Johnny-on-the-spot. When one job was finished, the next crew came in and did their job. It just kind of clicked. We didn't have very much down time at all. We ordered a smart cleaner and they plumbed it for a pool side cleaner, but not any problem. When they realized that, they came and switched that what we actually had in the contract. Overall, I'd recommend Blue Haven. We looked at different companies and for the price, the quality, and the timing, Blue Haven was the top-notch for us.

We designed the pool and the rep helped us put everything together. She was very knowledgeable. We like the whole pool design, including the tanning ledge and the hot tub. Blue Haven made it known what the cost was per item so we were able to pick and choose what we wanted to. We could have put less in and paid less money, but we chose not to. We were well aware of what they were charging before they even started. They did a good job and always kept in contact with me even to this day. The superintendent over the pool was a good person all the way around. I recommended Blue Haven to a buddy of mine. He's a builder that I work for and they're putting one in for him right now.

Picked Blue Haven do to the 4.9 stars for reviews on their site. Process started off good but soon went down hill. The PM they assigned to our project was either inexperienced or just didn’t care. Communication was poor to say the least and even at one point went and talked to the GM at which I thought might make a difference. Nothing changed and even asked to have the PM removed for another and was told we couldn’t. Finally after the pool was finished and the punch list items began we then found out the PM quit and we were dealing with his supervisor (whom we had been along the way Copying him on all correspondences).

Pool was completed right before Thanksgiving 2023 and here we are 3/20/24 and still struggling to get all complete. I knew up front Blue Haven wasn’t the least expensive and the GM even stated that to me, but for goodness sake pay attention to your costumers at hand. I mean a pool 100k+ does deserve attention to detail and communication.

We got financed for the pool that we had from Blue Haven and the process was easy enough. Their designer was helpful in helping us get a design made up that would work for our yard. We have the HOA, which I found 100% confusing, so he helped us navigate through all those type of things in the beginning to jump through their hoops to give them what they needed because I didn't understand what we were supposed to give them. I would have not known what to do to get the HOA, so he was very good with that stuff. We had tons of options because of our backyard's size. But we knew what we were looking for and they were able to do that for us. We were happy with how it turned out. We have a spillover from the spa into the pool, which I like. We also got lights in the pool.

As far as the teams that would come and do each part of the pool, I didn't need to really communicate with them on anything. But they seemed very friendly. I dealt with the construction manager, so if there was any question, I would ask him through the process and everything was good through all that. All my neighbors know that we had a good experience with Blue Haven and everybody in the whole neighborhood was impressed. They could see how well Blue Haven did and how on schedule they were. I also say good things about the pool, but lots of people driving by into the neighborhood to look at the model home right across the street from me could see it too and we've got a lot of compliments on it.

Blue Haven is way overpriced and their customer service could have done a lot better. It took a while for them to get started on my pool and it took them a while to build the pool. Then they were bragging about getting a pool done in five days right down the way. I was wondering was I not important enough to get it done like they got it done with the guy down the street. That was frustrating.

When we were laying out the pool, we were looking for their guidance on where the 6-foot line would start to drop. They said it early, so we don't have much of a shallow end. We got 2 feet of actual 3-foot walking grounds, and the rest of it goes down to 6 feet. It drops gradually but you go down another 2 feet, and you can't touch the ground. With the pavers, I'm already having issues with some areas that are dropping down. We got a waterfall and that’s also been a problem ‘cause the water splashes back at the edging of our Jacuzzi. It causes a salt buildup along the side. They had to redo the waterfall one time and they redid it again.

Blue Haven had a fair price and good reputation. They had good quality. And during the process of selection of the materials, they had fairly nice quality materials. We were happy with the installation. The manager and the team lead are all good with communication. I had no problems with them. When I needed something, they were there. They were addressing my issues. My next-door neighbor had a pool also being built at the same time, and they had issues. I didn't. I was happy with that. They completed the construction as they promised. It started in June, and it finished in October.

It was the first time my wife and I ever had a pool built and the experience with Blue Haven was very informative. We had never done anything like that before so we didn't realize how the rep could design the pool with us standing right there telling him in our mind's eye what we would want but he was able to do that all in his graphic design. It was really easy and we could see what our yard was gonna look like before they even started working on the pool. The paperwork and all the stuff they did for us were really nice and our project manager was really good. Even when there wasn't anything planned for a week, he would still contact us and he kept us in the know about when they were gonna be doing what and we could make plans around it. There were tons of people coming in and out of the yard and he stayed on top of it. My mother and father-in-law are having a pool built and we've requested the same project manager.

The customer service from the design and the build was very good but they're a little hard to get ahold of. I've had a couple of questions and nobody hardly answers the phone there and it usually takes them a while to call back. Also, I found it a little bit weird that it's only a one-year warranty. But other than those, we like everything about the pool and we really like the lights.

It was great with Blue Haven Pools & Spas. Daniel did a good job on the 3D drawings. Every time we'd make a change, he would redo the drawing so we could see what it was gonna look like. They changed things when we needed it to be changed and did things to make it fit the city code. It was a big construction project. There were little bumps in the road about some plumbing and we had to change some equipment and tune in the system. But they were very honest and did everything they said they'd do which was to build a great pool. We have the OMNI automation system and a SmartPure system. We also have LED lighting. The main thing was honesty with Pedro who runs the company. He did everything he said. They've also come and fix things afterwards for free.

They're not the cheapest solution by any stretch but we were really happy with the whole experience and the final product.

We sent our idea to Blue Haven and they sent us back one shape of pool and we went from there. We added a tan ledge and changed the location of the steps. We gave up some things because the cost is outrageous but what we were willing to spend is pretty much what we got. Our salesperson, Pete, was very helpful beyond the actual sale. He made it easy and we can text him if we have any issues. The project overseer man was our most difficult interaction because he was so busy and hard to get ahold of if we needed something or if we had a question or something wasn't right. He was great when we were elated about everything going on but the second that we had a snafu, there was lack of communication. But we were always able to get ahold of somebody who could go get him.

Also, the biggest downside is that we were promised that the pool would be done in time to use last year and it was not. There was a hold-up at the beginning with the engineer so we've not been able to use it or enjoy it. Then, last minute, we had to install a $4,500 electrical panel because the electric that we had wasn't sufficient. That wasn't something that was looked at before and factored into the contract. But we love how the pool has turned out. It's pretty and the water features are lovely. From what we could tell so far, we're pretty impressed.

We have a small yard and Blue Haven has a pool that's small called a plunge pool. It's also heated and has jets like a spa does. We did have another pool company come and it was like night and day. Blue Haven Pool came out and measured everything. They did a 3D drawing of what this thing was gonna look like before we even started. Anything I needed to change, they just changed right then.

They told us it would take 8 to 12 weeks to install it but they finished it in 5 and they did an awesome job. Their crew was here when they said they were going to be here to start and they were here every day that they said they were going to be here -- always on time, never once did I have to wait for them. Also, they're so detail-oriented. One of the lights that goes around it was a different color and they made sure that they came back and changed it. I didn't even notice it but they did and they changed it right out. They were very polite and they kept me informed with every step they did. I knew exactly what was happening and what day it was gonna happen. Every one of them and their departments was awesome. Even after the pool has been installed, I had a question on something and they get right back to me.

I decided to go with Blue Haven because I liked the energy of the lady who sold the pool and she explained everything step by step. She really sold the pool and let us see exactly what it would look like. She made me see our yard in a whole different light. She met our expectations. I went in to pick out the tile and coping and all the finishes. She made it easy, letting us see everything together and then was able to put it in the computer design so that we could see what it would look like all together. So, I really loved that. She was friendly and helpful. Also, Blue Haven made financing easy and that was the biggest part. Even the installers would come in and let us know everything that was going on and the next steps to come. So, I felt very informed through the whole process. I had a very good experience.

I love the pool. We were able to get lights in the pool. My only regret is not getting the heater. So, that's something I'm gonna look into later. The construction process was long only because of the weather. So, the weather played a huge part in it. It started in the rainy season. The pool was finished by May 5th. We had our first official swim date. It was nice. We got the lighting in the pool, and I love it for the lights show. We got a waterfall feature, which is nice as well. We have two benches. One's longer than the other, which the kids love because they lay out on it even though the water is above their head. They like to lay under the water on the bench. I feel like it's a pool that's good for my whole family.

We've made some adjustments along the way and it was not a problem. It worked out well. We wanted a smaller pool that was equal to the patio that we had built, which is 22-foot wide. Blue Haven could only go out so far 'cause there's a pond so there's a fence. We had them build a 10 by 20 plunge pool, which turns out great for us. We put some tiles at the edge of the steps. Our neighbors had recommended getting the glass tile inlays at the end of the steps. They didn't get them and it's hard for them to see the edge of the steps. Blue Haven had a smooth process. I just filled out an application online, and then their person who's in charge of the loans communicated with me what was going on with the pool loan, the steps, and the payments. If I had any issues, it was easy to reach out to them via email. They’d reply back usually the same day, but it was always within 24 hours. I used to be in banking, so it was a really easy and pleasant experience.

Communication was great. We had a few hiccups, but that was mainly due to weather and my yard. It was out of their control. They came in, and fixed the issue from the last pool contractor. I feel we built a really beautiful pool. They pointed out things that would cause issues with my design down the road. So, the overall design is not what I originally imagined. But the final design, in my opinion,is a much better pool and functionality and cleaning. Mine would have been very difficult for what I wanted. I would definitely recommend Blue Haven. All the designers there are willing to help each other. When I couldn't get ahold of one person, they would have someone else reach out to me. They were honest, upfront, and straightforward.

My experience with the Blue Haven designer is a mixed bag. Originally, we had somebody come out. We were very happy with him. He was from the Exton office. We were given a number, kind of scratchy on the pad, with loose details of what we wanted and estimated prices. Then the pandemic happened and when we called back a month later, he was going out for an illness. So, we were moved to the head office. At that point he came out, the design had to be redone. There was a lot of going back and forth on design and where would it be located, but my dissatisfaction was with the numbers of how much this would cost in actuality. Whereas, I feel like maybe with the person from Exton, I might have been able to get those numbers sooner. So, that created a delay in our process.

We went to contract, but the pool was done a year and a half later, and I understand a lot of that has to do with the resources that were available. With the process of getting the paper and the survey, we were told, "Oh, if you have somebody who can do the survey faster with the site plan, then you should do that." That was the way we went, but I feel like that dragged things through a little bit longer. Finally, when we got approval from the township in the fall, it was too late to start. So, then we had to wait till spring, which we were fine about. It was just taking a long time from the contract that we signed in the spring to the fall to get approval from the township, with all of that time. So that seemed to take a lot of time. Then in the spring, started in March, things were going fast. But then all of a sudden, it was like we were dropped and they didn't come back out until July. We were like, "Where are you guys? Why aren't you here?"

We had to start applying pressure by phone calls and emails. Then things got picked up again. We finally had water in August to be able to have the pool filled, but then their landscaping person seemed to drag their feet. So, we were walking on cardboard and things like that to get to the pool because it was all dirt around the pool. That was going on until September. I would not have used their landscaping person. I had a landscaping person. He could have gotten us sod a lot faster and would have avoided all of that, but we are at the mercy of thinking that, when you're signing up for the pool, that you need to use their subcontractors.

It was really painless.

The only thing is the other companies gave us a 3D kind of video to give us an idea of what it would look like. Whereas, Blue Haven's salesperson just went old school and did it on graph paper. We already had an idea since we went through other companies to get an idea of what we wanted, but for somebody who went through Blue Haven first, that would be a negative effect as far as them choosing because paper versus seeing what your backyard might look like might have a negative impact on how they're gonna decide on who to choose. As far as the design, he let us pick. He just gave us different options.

The final product looks better once it's in person. Everything came out great. Timing-wise, we're happy about it. The cleanliness of the workers was great. They had brought us a couple of products of different tiles, but then we ended up going into their office and they had a showroom of everything. So, that also helped besides them bringing photos and videos of past customers.

When they excavated, it shocked us that it was done in one day. That was shocking because we expected a couple of days of digging or moving around. Everything was done within one to two days, each process, which was amazing. Because you would think a pool could be weeks and weeks. Also, there was really no big mess. The only time there would be a pile of dirt was when they were filling the decking to level it out and make sure all the dirt was level before they poured concrete.

The pool has the lighting. We have our phone which we can program. I can turn on the waterfall or change the lights to whatever color I might want that day. If I wanna stop the filter from running ahead of time, versus going out there and flipping the switch. It is the same with the heater and the spa. I thought that was cool. They set it so the little vacuum is programmed to just run at a certain time. So, I don't have to worry about any of that. The overall ambiance of just looking at it and listening to the water is so relaxing.

Outstanding. We had three pools built for us over the years and by far Blue Haven has proven thru their actions to be the best. From their designer (Rick R.) to their wonderful and efficient office staff (Morgan) to their operations superintendent (Thomas) we had the best home pool building experience. Equally important is the superb communication process throughout the pool building process and the continued accommodation to the homeowners. We appreciate the smooth operations from dig out to gunite to the paver install.. The crews did an excellent professional job with minimal disturbance. It was such a pleasant experience to deal with such professionals to include their finance personnel. Blue Haven made the whole process a great experience for us. Without hesitation, if you desire a pool, highly recommend BH built you a quality pool. Hands down.

Working with Blue Haven Pools & Spas' designer was very easy. I knew what I wanted. It was no fuss. I don't like a lot of stress. So, we were in and out, picked our stuff out. He worked with us. We have a small yard. Blue Haven listened to my problem. They listened to what I wanted, but they put me back into reality. So, my total design was changed by their expertise. I trusted them a lot to change my whole design.

We started after the holidays, and the pool was done within three months. It started in February. It was May or June that it was done. It was quick. Once they got to business, they were good. I had a hole in my backyard, and my friends had one too. They've been waiting five months for theirs. That was a different pool company. Ours was done before they even got their concrete sprayed. I was nervous, but we were in the pool by summer. Also, we liked the follow through and the follow-up. We've already recommended Blue Haven to several of our friends.

The designer was helpful in showing us different possibilities and the whole process was great. We went back and forth and had some general things that we wanted. We love the pool. We just had some maintenance headaches because we didn’t understand something. We started having issues with our pool and we found out it didn't have any stabilizer in it. No one ever told us anything about it. So, we ended up with a pain that was completely avoidable had more information been communicated to us, especially as a first-time pool owner. The education that Blue Haven provided was incomplete. We followed every instruction that we were given and still started having some issues with the pool so, I hired somebody to come out. We were putting chemicals into the pool for nothing because nothing was holding it into the water. But other than that, the construction was fine and the experience with Blue Haven was good for the most part.

We looked at about five different companies and Blue Haven came out and gave us a quote. Theirs was competitive with some of the other companies. Also, there was just something about Chris when he came out with Blue Haven that was wonderful. He was so detailed and patient. We met Blue Haven also at their location on Ashley Phosphate. It was a wonderful experience. Then COVID hit. Chris called and said that they were gonna stop building for a while. He said, “After COVID, we believe price is gonna go up. We think anywhere from 20 to 30%. Do you wanna lock in?” He told us that locking in meant that it locked in our price for one year. We said we were okay with that.

COVID went for two years. But at the end of the first year, Chris called again and said, “Hey, you guys wanna lock your prices in?” So we told him that we wanted to lock the prices in again. After they started opening up everything and freeing everything again, we wee ready to build a pool. It was fascinating because all the other pool companies called us and said, “Hey, if you guys still wanna build your pool, we'll come out. We need to update the estimate because pool prices have went up 30%." But we told them, “No, thank you.”

I reached out to Chris and told him that we were ready to build. He said, “Perfect, because you guys are locked in.” He said that it was hard getting parts. But he told us, “But what we did was when COVID hit, we started buying things we knew we would need to build our pools.” So they were ready. They were so wonderful. They came out and we met the other Chris who was the project manager. They did our pool in a month and a half. They did not try to oversell us because he asked us and really listened. They listened to what we wanted. I drew up my design and what I wanted. He laughed and said, “I'm gonna clean it up a little bit, but I'm gonna give you that.” I appreciated that and he got it to perfection.

We got a 47 feet x 20 feet pool. The sun ledge is about 7 feet. Then they gave us so many extras just because he said we were kind. We paid 112,000 for the pool. It was just a great experience, even with the decking guys when they came out. Everybody that they did was a one-stop shop. We didn't have to go seek out anybody else. Everybody was one behind the other. We love it.

I put in a pool with another company but I didn't like the way they set up their fees because all the money was upfront before the activity was performed. So, they were using my money to finish up another job. But Blue Haven was just the opposite. I didn't pay them anything until the task was done. They had their work activities separated in different categories. When they finished one activity, they billed me and then when they finished another activity, they billed me. They were very quick and easy to work with. They let me come up with some of the ideas that I was looking for, and they took that and came up with a design for what I was looking for. They probably enhanced it from their experience so, the design came out good.

Through Blue Haven, you can buy ceramic tiles of crabs or fish or turtles and inlay them in the bottom of the pool. You can also get tiles that are glitter tiles that will sparkle in the sunlight and you can have those inlaid in the pool as well. So, they had a lot more creativity and had added features that we liked that the other company didn't have. The shape that we wanted was long because I didn't want a pool that looked like a spa and I wanted it wide so that you had room for multiple people. So, we designed it so that you walk into a shallow area that might be a foot deep, and that was about 5 feet x 5 feet for little kids. Then, it went down to the shallow one which was 3.5 feet and gradually went down to 5.5. Blue Haven’s pool has a controller and I can change the lights and change the colors and the timer. It's a rental house. So, I hired somebody to manage the pool and he's familiar with Hayward computers and their technology.

I was dealing with one individual and he updated me all the time when activities were taking place. They have a website where all the data goes and I can see the pictures of what they've done, what their next task is and when it's scheduled for. It was easy to know where they were and what they were working on. If I had any issues, I could call my contact and he'd take care of it. I was so impressed with Blue Haven. I've had people come up to me and ask for recommendations for pools. I've had one pool manufactured and this was another one, and I highly recommended Blue Haven over the other one.

The pool is a lagoon shaped with an overflow spa. I have a slide, which I bought myself because Brandy told me I could probably buy it cheaper than she could. I provided the slide and they installed it. I do have a problem with the slide. It leaks at the fitting. I called them and they came a couple of times to try to stop it but it's still leaking a little. I don't really know what we need to do, but I'm sure they'll take care of it if I reach out. Also, the pool has automated controls and I have the robot cleaner, a variable speed pump, a tanning ledge with the bubblers, and the flagstone coping, which is no extra cost for the flagstone. I could have gotten the regular coping for the same price.

Their entire presentation of Blue Haven of being able to put it into a 3D drawing and showing me what it could potentially look like was cool. Everything went well during the installation, too. Our pool is rectangular. The extra add-on that I had done was a tanning ledge and a couple of bubblers. We also made the pool a little bit bigger than their standard size.

The timeline was good. I had a little bit of an issue with some footprints at the bottom of the pool and they took care of it. The service after the sale was good with that. The only constructive criticism I would offer is that we got a pool heater, but they don't offer any service on it, which is a little unusual. When there was an issue with the pool heater, I had to find who could do service on the pool heater and have them come out and work on the pool heater. Turned out there was nothing wrong with it. It was something that my plumber did. But the fact that they put the pool heater in and they don't service the pool heater was a little disappointing.

Blue Haven has good prices compared to some other people I looked at. They were easy to work with. Weather held us back a little bit a couple times. But as far as it going up, it was quick. The building process was great. We got what we wanted. But it was the final stages of Blue Haven that we had issues with. Once the pool was built, they did what they call pool school. That did not go too well. Some of the equipment was installed incorrectly. We had to have someone come out and fix some of the stuff that was installed. Then we were told that the size of the heater that they put in for the size of the pool we had was way too large. But I was never told that by Blue Haven.

There was also another company that Blue Haven partners with and they completely messed up our chemicals. The pool had to be completely drained a week after filling it and redone. It was a learning curve at first because Blue Haven did not have people that knew what they were doing for our size to do it correctly. We were taught incorrectly. But once we got that figured out, it's been very easy. Now, we got it and we handle it ourselves. We love the pool. We use it a lot as a hot tub. We get in it several times a week and my kids love it too.

Blue Haven sent a sales rep out and he was a nice guy. He's been doing it for a long time so he was able to show us what we could do. He looked at the backyard and we agreed on what we would want and what that would cost. That went well. Then, we worked together with the designer to come up with something that we liked. They convinced me that the size was the right size. I would have made it a little bigger, but I'm glad that we didn't.

During the construction process, we constantly worked with them, which I wasn't expecting. If you don't, it doesn't get done the way you want it to so you have to oversee what they're doing. There were questions that arose and modifications that were made during the process. But they beat the timeline and the pool was perfect. Everything around it was a disaster, though. They didn't clean up after themselves. They cleaned up the materials but they dug a huge hole and destroyed a bunch of stuff around it and they left all of that as they were. It was quite expensive to clean up after them so it ended up being more expensive than we thought because of the aftermath.

We love the pool, but the color of the finish and the color of the top don't come together very well. We would have picked different colors had we known that. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend Blue Haven. They were pretty nice people to work with. It's an expensive thing, but if money is no object, then they're great people to work with because they'll take care of everything. They're very responsive and they would always help me, answer the phone, and come over if I needed something.

I liked the person that I met with initially but the rest of the process was a horrible experience for me. My experience with the construction workers were not pleasant. I had two new gates put in and they destroyed both of the new gates. I had a fence that they had to use to enter the property and they broke the fence and the fixture. I had a electric power thing installed so that I can have electricity to the pool and they broke that, too. They did a lot of damage and they were not clean. One of the guys went behind my shed and relieved himself, which was not cool. I told Blue Haven all that in an email.

I don't really like my pool. The coping is chipping and I realized now after I talked to another pool installation company that coping is not a necessity, which I was led to believe that it was. Now, it's constantly chipping and the grout in between the coping is coming out. I'm gonna have somebody have to come out and redo the coping and my pool is just over a year old.

Also, I have the multi cyclone, which I think was a waste of money. I didn't really need but they upsold that. I don't like it. It's hard to clean. Then, they didn't leave me a manual with the pump. They told me it didn't come with a manual. It took me about six months after getting my pool installed to get them to give me a manual. They lead me to believe that Blue Haven is the manufacturer of the pump so the Blue Haven name is all over it, but Blue Haven is not. It's actually a Hayward pump.

I paid 59,000 for my pool and the same size pool was on sale for 45,000 less than 15 days after they finished mine. I think they should have given me that price since my pool was not completed totally. And when they did their marketing and gave the little design, they sold me what I thought was two umbrellas but it's just two holes for two umbrellas. If they're not going to give the person what's in the picture, don't display it in the picture to upsell their product.

They ended up giving me the umbrellas but the holes are too close because they're not centered right. I can't use both of the umbrellas at the same time.

It was amazing when we first started with Blue Haven. The owner, Bob, came out and did an assessment of what it would take to do a pool. He was able to write an entire pool estimate right from a calculator. I found that to be quite impressive that was why I took him so seriously and ultimately did the deal with Blue Haven.

As a person who never had a pool, I was looking for Bob to give his guidance and instruction. Now that I've owned one and I understand it, you need to have a pool to be able to know how to shop for a pool. If you come in cold, then you need someone to tell you, "If you pick this option, then you're gonna have to do this and this is how you're gonna have to maintain it. This is the drawback of doing this, but here are the positive of doing this." In the case of our discussion, we never had those types of conversations. On the placement of the pool equipment, we could have had a discussion about that and what the drawbacks would have been of putting the pool equipment where you put it versus somewhere else and possibly me not having to have the sound of the pool motor right on the other side of the wall of my bedroom. Bob just gave me a price and I thought a pool is a pool is a pool, but it's not. I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life.

The pool is very well-installed from a building perspective. Bob was here all the time and monitored. He made sure everything was as it should be from an installation standpoint. But he never gave me instructions on how to use my pool. I asked how long does the motor run but they didn't know. Most pool owners will tell you to run your pump 24 hours a day and at variable speeds. The utility bill is as high. I could get away with running it at 1,000 RPMs, which you wouldn't even hear it at all, but I can't run it at 1,000 RPM because I was told the water features, at 1,000 RPMs, water won't make it into the pool. It'll splash on the edge. It's more important for me to have a very quiet pool all day and run the pump 24 hours a day and we probably don't need to put these waterfalls everywhere.

It's important for people to come meet with you and make sure you understand every component of it, what your pool pavers are, what coping is and where that is on the pool, what it takes to learn how to use the machine that you're buying to run the pool, who can you work with if you wanna put other features on the pool or if you have questions, and ask if it's important to you that it connects to your phone. That wasn't told me. I can't control my pool from my phone. All those things need to be part of the pre-pool meeting before you sign with someone.

The customer service deteriorated as the pool got built. Blue Haven never followed up with me. I've had several issues after the pool was built and it seems I have to beg for them to come help with that. The price was exorbitant too. As time went on, the prices got even higher. As we started building the pool, there were all these gotchas that came up along the way that crept the price up. They were things that Bob should have mentioned from the minute we were sitting down and that would have been very helpful.

The pool changes colors and has little features. I like it a lot. It's the best thing ever. It has changed our lives Blue Haven has good people. They're all respectful of our space.

Also, I wanted to see more examples of the plaster color. It was a really hard decision for me. It would have been nice to be able to look at different tiles if they had a sample in their showroom. I kept wanting to go back to the showroom to look at the tiles, but it was kind of awkward because that's not really what they're there for.

Also, there was an issue with the concrete and we didn't really get our way. But they cared. When they saw that there was a problem and that they were responsible for it, they don't even think about it. They fix it. When we did our contract, the rep told us the price of the concrete. We were unsure of the shape of the pool and how much to use for the patio decking. But he told us we had time. When they draw our pool out, we'll see it and we can change it. When it was time to do the concrete, we added more. But then, they charged us more per square foot.

That was wrong because we were in a contract. In the beginning, the specific question was asked. “Will it be the same price?” In the end, when we figured out that they charged us quite a bit more, that bothered us. If the rep said before we added concrete on, “Look, you can still add on, but the price has gone up.” we would have still added on. This was the only negative. For everything else, I would recommend them to anyone. They did an excellent job. All of our equipment is top-quality.

So we got something else that was more expensive and we didn't get the one we wanted. It was one little part we wanted that was supposed to clean the dog fur. But we got this part that helps to clean the water.

Blue Haven started super fast with the installation and then it was at a standstill. In two days, they had this pool dug. We thought we were gonna have this pool in a month. But after that, nothing happened. We just sat there watching this hole. We kept waiting and then it was two months. We were told that it would be a three-month process. There were a few times where my husband did a lot of yelling and there were times where he would call and the project manager wouldn't return his calls. So we weren't always happy. There was also a time when there was something with the gate and they had to put the mesh on the gate for the code. It was the only thing keeping us from having our final inspection. My husband had to go to the company that does the gates and tell them off. But the pool itself turned out nice and everything looks and runs good.

Blue Haven employed an independent architect to come here and give us a couple of designs to choose from. And we liked those designs the best. They managed people flow in and out of the house to the pool and kept the pool area safe. It took more than a year and a half to build the pool and the first thing that happened was the ground was broken. Then the electrical filaments were laid and the gunite support was established. They had to let that sit for a while to settle because they had to carve this place out of the hill. And it wasn't virgin ground, so they needed the time for it to settle. When wintertime came, they sprayed the gunite and created the shell. And once again, that had to cure for months.

Finally, we had another third-party contractor come in and do the excavating for the boulder wall and to build up the hill so that it would support the pool. Once that got the builder wall built, we had the concrete company come in for the decking all around the pool. After that, we had the fences, a pool shed, and a pool house put in. Then finally, Blue Haven came and did the plastering. And the water filled the pool within two days. So, it was a long process.

It's now an old pool but the quartz plaster finish did not degrade over time. It looks very good. So, when they came out to inspect it, they said all we needed was new tile and coping. So, that's what they did and that only took them three days. Then we filled the pool back up and we enjoyed the season with it. It looks fantastic. But the people doing the work marred the finish of the plaster when they put up parts of it and they were standing on scaffolding that did not support itself. They used the side of the pool to support the scaffold, which made the indentations in the plaster. It wasn't meant to support that. So, they had to come back and fix it.

I would recommend Blue Haven to anyone. They were willing to build the pool how I wanted it and their customer service was amazing. From the first time that I met them to the last day that it was completely finished, they did everything that I asked and also had an answer for every question that I asked. If there was an issue, they got it solved immediately. I gave them a deadline when I needed the pool built by and they had it done two weeks beforehand. It was a tight time frame, but they still pushed it. Even after, any time I've called them about anything about the pool, they've answered the phone immediately. When I have an issue, they send a tech out immediately that day. If not, the very next day. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company, whether it be a pool company or not. Their service was one of a kind. It was so good that my father-in-law didn't even need a pool but he had Blue Haven build him a pool too because of how good it was.

We love the pool. It is 22 x 41. There's a shallow end where the stairs go up to. It's eight inches deep for a layout pool on one end. I've got a step that goes all the way across the other end of it to get in and out of the pool with a big slide right there to go in. It's four and a half-foot deep on both ends, but five-foot deep in the middle. I got a volleyball net on it. Blue Haven also built a spa connected to it with a waterfall into it. At first, it was all new to us because we went from an above-ground to an in-ground. The maintenance of the pool is 10 times easier. It stays clear. I had a little issue at the very beginning, but it was because we weren't able to put salt in it at the time. We were still letting it cure and I got a little bit of algae. But as soon as it got algae, they sent their guys out. They scrubbed and got it all cleaned up. When I had one light go out, they came the same day and replaced the light. Other than those, everything has been awesome with the pool.

Everything was great with the construction crew and there was never a delay. We didn't have any rain during that process so they were able to work every day. The work took seven weeks and everything went smoothly. We're extremely happy with the final product. We've had one summer to enjoy it so it's definitely been worth it.

Blue Haven's designer was very good. He suggested to raise the hot tub, instead of being down in the pool, and I liked his idea. Our pool is a freeform one that has a tanning ledge and a bench in the back. It's got a pebble gunite finish and it's very pretty. I also have a tablet that controls color, fountains and the filters. I like being able to control it all from inside my house rather than having to go outside and turn everything on and off. The pool has bubble jets as well, which is my favorite thing.

The construction took four months and when their reps were putting the pool in, they were very good. But the follow-up was poor. I had some issues with the color of the gunite and at the time, my contractor had to leave for personal reasons. So, they gave me someone else and it was hard to get in touch with him. Then, I had to end up using another person.

Once the pool was finished, it was also really hard to get in touch with them when I needed service with the contracting part of it. They tried to fix it a couple of different ways and none of it worked. So they told me they had to wait until the water got warmer in the summer to fix it. But it was a matter of following up with them to make sure that they were going to come out and do it, and when they were going to do it. Then, I couldn't get anyone to come out to look at the gunite. I was blown off by one of the guys and he just would not come out. So I had to call and get the head manager to come out and look at my pool. At first, when they did the hot start treatment, they didn't do it correctly. They didn't clean it correctly, so they had to continue coming out.

Then I had to contact the pebble people because the color was so different than the original pebble stone color. So they did the hot start in August and I didn't get my final answer until about a week ago. Joe, who was the manager over it all, finally took the reins. He picked up the pace, helped me with some answers, and was willing to come out unlike the contractor that had been assigned to my pool after the other people left. But I had to do a lot of digging before I could get him. All in all, I would not recommend them because of the drama that I went through. It wasn't worth it.

Blue Haven has been very responsive to any questions or help I needed. The customer service team is always willing to take calls and answer questions. When I asked questions, the designer was able to ask what my use would be and what I would want. She made some suggestions and gave me some options and what the price of those options would be as I tried to decide which things I wanted that would be within my budget. The financing was great as well. I just had to go online and fill out an application, and the lady that was managing it emailed me back all the paperwork and terms. All I had to do was fill it out.

David, the manager, texted and kept me up to date on what was going on, any time there was any delay in either materials or work crews coming. One time, a crew came to do something and they left a mess. As soon as I texted David and said, "I don't know what these guys were doing. They left a mess," he brought his own personal crew over and cleaned up the mess immediately the next day. It was taken care of. My pool connects to Wi-Fi, and I can do some things on the controller with the lights and the filter. The pebble finish has been my favorite so far. The next thing that I like after the pebble finish is some extra concrete that I was able to purchase and add in to make it fit the space where I wanted it and serve more purposes.

The designer from Blue Haven was great, very easy to work with and understood what the restrictions were for my small backyard. The pool is a regular long rectangle with three steps on the left side and a little bench on the right side. It's half a P, just small enough to swim and exercise in. It has LED lights that change colors for the light to the pool. I have some concerns though and I’ve reached out to Blue Haven. The Kool Decking that's around it is already chipped. Blue Haven said they were on it but I haven't heard anything in weeks.

There's also some discoloration, which I asked to be looked at and Blue Haven didn't bother. And then, the crew appeared to have moved some of my pavers that are part of my patio in the backyard and they didn't put the caulking in between them again, so now they're loose. I brought to their attention while they were building it that some of their people left garbage and food in my pool. And I made them come back and get it because that was unacceptable. I had to call the general manager a couple of times because the crew was rude. I asked them not to do specific things. They completely ruined my front lawn and broke sprinkler heads. They would say their boss knew they were gonna do what they were doing and to go ahead and call him. They talked to their customer like that. It was very bad.

The final product is good and I'm overall happy, but I'm a little bit miffed that I spent $80,000 for a pool and I can't get Blue Haven to fix something that is clearly under warranty. I had to remind Christina, the rep. She would say she would reach out to the contractor again. And still, nothing. It's been six weeks already. I did this early enough and my pool finalization date is mid-October. So, it's coming up quickly. I've already let them know about these things so, as far as I'm concerned, they will fix them under my warranty. I'd share some of my struggles with people and tell them to stay on top of the project to make sure it turns out the way they want it to turn out.

Erin was good at answering those over and over again throughout the process. Nothing was hidden. It was all in writing and all as it should have been throughout the process when the payments were due.

The pool is fiberglass and concrete, which is basic. And we did a heat pump and a standard filter. But it’s Hayward and they have a good system. The team was amazing to watch. They were very careful with our property. They came back and repaired anything that got damaged before the job was complete. All the work was good. We got a retaining wall around it and they did a great job with that. They were a very efficient team and it was seamlessly planned. It went fast once they broke ground. We did some comparisons with dealers directly and what pricing we could get if we were going to do it ourselves. And Blue Haven’s was a very competitive price, given the timing. Post-COVID and during COVID, things were in demand. It hurt but it was fair. The quality of the new pool is great. We love it and we're very happy with it.

They did say that it would take longer than it took, but it was completed in a very timely manner. I like the pool. It came with the LED lighting that changes color. What we weren't happy with is when they did the coping and put the grout in, they did a very poor job with the grout all the way around the pool and around the spa. They had to come back and redo that.

They had to come back two different times because the first time they came back, they didn't complete the job. Then the second time, they finally did it the way it should have been done the very first time. Overall, we're very pleased. In the beginning, when I first called to get an estimate on a pool, they said they would not come out to where we were. Then four months later, I got a text from the very person I spoke with asking me if I was still interested in a pool. He was the one that ended up coming out to give us our estimate on the pool.

Things went well and the only negative is that when the salesperson comes out and they're telling you the length of time and when it would be done, they tell you it would be 8 to 12 weeks. They should stress that Florida has a lot of rain and things get delayed, so be more realistic with that time frame because it always goes over. Then the homeowner is upset because their pool isn't done. Had they said it could take five months, I'm thinking five months. I’m not getting excited that it's gonna be done in four.

Everything was good with the construction, with the exception of two things. We had some electrical issues, but they were resolved. The only complaint I have with Blue Haven is the plumber was piss-poor. He didn't sink the pipes deep enough, which prevented me from putting in a cabana house, which I had on my original plan. That was the only bad aspect of the job. Everybody else was solid.

It has a water feature at the back and a rock wall that looks really nice.

The sprinkler system reroute was a little bit clunky. Also, we should have a way to fill the pool built in. I have to run a house from the wall to the pool versus having a piece of PVC plumbing inside. That was something that I wish they would have recommended though I should have known better. Timeline of install and equipment for pool itself seems to be well done. But DO NOT let Blue Haven handle the deck install if you are upgrading to natural stone. This part of the project is subcontracted and the installers (Best View Pavers) do not know how or do not care to properly handle the product. I made several requests that were ignored. I trusted that Blue Haven was proficient with installing stone pavers since they offer several options themselves as upgrade over concrete pavers, but unfortunately this part of the project was obviously not their area of expertise. Just applying a little more effort on the deck install would make a big difference on the end result. Use of wet saw and 1 step up on type of grout, both minimal expense in grand scheme of cost to put in a pool, would greatly increase the customer satisfaction of work done.

Also... once you sign the paperwork forget ever talking to the original salesperson. They are removed from the line of communication. Blue Haven keeps a barrier between those that make decisions on costs and those the customer speaks with directly. Getting straight answers and details is a challenge (answers to questions were usually replied with..., "This is what the office gave me"). Overall I would likely suggest choosing a different company for new pool install.

We called Blue Haven and once they came and gave us an estimate and gave us an idea of what our pool was gonna look like, and due to the confidence that they had, we decided to go with them. We liked the price, too. Our designer looked at our yard, measured for codes and things, and gave us an idea of how big the pool should be or could be in the area that we were looking at. They gave us a few different options as far as going wider or going deeper. I had a design in mind of what I wanted, so it wasn't really hard. I told them what I was wanting. They had their computer-generated pictures up with the stuff that we wanted, the looks that we wanted and different tiles and the pavers and different things. It was a pretty straightforward meeting. Within an hour and a half of the total meeting time, we had our pool design and we were very happy with it.

We have the builders app that the construction team went through. So, they sent us messages on when this was gonna happen, this was the next step here, and who was gonna be here for us. We did have a lot of the direct numbers of a lot of the construction heads. If there was an issue or if something did come up, we were able to get ahold of anyone of our crew members. Within no more than 15 minutes, we were talking to someone about what needed to be done. Our breakers at our house were tripping quite a bit. I was like, "This may put your workers a little bit behind. But I think they're just gonna have to tone down the number of tools they're using right this minute." We were able to get that fixed.

Other than that, there were no real hiccups. We were made to know what was going on very early on to when we knew the next step. There was never a question as to what was going on or how it was going. Everything was well explained in detail and in-depth, and in a manner where we knew and we were always in the know.

We went with an irregular shape. It's not just a regular rectangle. It's a gunite with tanning ledges, bubblers, and some sprinklers throughout the pool system. There are two seats that are built into the side, one in the deep end and one in the more shallow end. Our pool has a bubbler on the tanning ledge that bubbles up the water a little bit. We have three sprinklers throughout the pool design that were added, just to cool down and have the audio feature of water splashing. We didn't really want a waterfall, but it kinda has that water sound. They incorporated three sprinklers throughout the system.

We have LED-changing lights that can be programmed to go throughout all of them or set on one certain design. We have a heater. We did add a heater to our pool so we can have it year-round. The two built-in seats are a really good option for us. We got the PebbleSheen lining, so it's a little bit better. We did get an enclosure, too, and that's a huge thing for us. We really enjoy that. Secondly, we like the tanning ledge. Those are the two main things that we really love about the pool.

Communication with the company fell short of expectations, in particular, with Vicki, Frank, and Nate, some ending quite hostile. I also encountered challenges with the initial cost estimate and experienced excessive delays in construction.

Unfortunately, the project remains unfinished despite the 6-month extended timeline. I observed issues with the pool plaster, tie-downs, deck, umbrella sleeve, and, most concerning, a leak, that requires attention. Throughout the entire process, I noticed a significant decline in the company's responsiveness and commitment to addressing and resolving these issues. I've attempted (more than 20+ times) to have a sit-down discussion with Blue Haven but was told that wouldn't happen unless I removed all company reviews on the internet. Then, we had to take not only the plans and present it to the city to approve, but we also had to write letters to all the neighbors to make sure it was okay. So, Mike was very instrumental. He did 3D layouts and we changed them several times. From start to finish, what Blue Haven did for us was extraordinary and I would recommend them highly.

Our pool is very unique. It's a 3D infinity edge pool so its construction and engineering is substantial. The final product is incredible. The whole design was just amazing. It has an automatic pool cover. The pool comes with different LED lights and they change colors. It's a high-end thing. The construction crew was great. All of them were very professional, friendly and knew what they were doing. Those guys did such a great job.

We have a kidney-shaped pool with two jets from Blue Haven. Cost-wise, it was great and we did the financing option. Blue Haven got our pool done when they told us they were gonna get it done. We had a really good experience with them. The whole process took 100 working days and that was the timeline that they gave us. There was only one issue we had. We had to get the patio, like the sand for the pavers. They had to come back and it took them a really long time after the pool was done.

Pool construction: Good; Pool inground jets: Substandard; Pool Deck: Substandard; Pool equipment: JUNK! If BH is your choice, research and purchase your own pool pump, filtration system and UV Ozone. BH uses Hayward equipment, which isn't half bad. However, it's proprietary to BH, which makes it very difficult to get replacement items such as filters and UV bulbs. Research and buy your own equipment as BH equipment will fail you well before the five year mark. After only 4 years I have replaced the pump and the uv ozone system as BH proprietary JUNK has kicked the bucket! A price tag of over $6,000 in one month! Additionally, I discovered they installed a uv/ozone system rated for 20,000 gallons. Problem is that my pool is 29,000 gallons. Someone tell me how the math for that works out because in my numbers world it falls quite short. The pump just flat died!

As far as the inground jets go, they work well however, they do not cover the space that they said they would. They should have installed at least five more. Building a pool is a one time shot! You have to trust the pool company to get it right for you the first time. I do NOT trust BH to get it right! I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, the concrete company that BH chose (Sierra) has come out several times to fix cracks in the deck. They only put a bandaid on it expecting it to go away. By bandaid I mean paint over it with deck coating material. They refuse to do the right thing by grinding out the crack, filling with epoxy and then paint over with deck coating material. This is a battle I am stuck fighting on my own, but will remain relentless.

Additionally, the guy that initiates starting the pool equipment and explains all the functions and controls is very much not so pleasant. Forget about calling him for help; very condescending to say the least! Basically, once they are done building your pool, you are on your own! You may wonder why the rating they have is 4 stars or better... I am glad you asked! People tend to rate things in the honeymoon phase. I am not that person! I rate after long term use or when I am completely satisfied. I am quite certain you can tell which I reached first! I hope this helps you determine your pool company and you fail to have issues I have experienced. Most of all, enjoy your pool!

Blue Haven Pools & Spas is the go-to. What they tell you would happen will happen. My designer was James. He came out, listened to what we wanted, put a picture together, sent us the picture, and we ended up sitting on that design for a while because we got pictures and quotes from other pools and compared what we would get, prices and quality. We ended up pulling the trigger with Blue Haven.

They gave a date, but they didn't show up on that date. We were anxious to get our pool that we were, "When are they gonna come?" Whenever we reached out though, they answered, and would say, "We're coming today." I came home and there was a hole in the back. When they showed up, they did an astronomical amount of work. And they would sweep and blow down everything after every day.

I originally wanted concrete, but we ended up going with a paver decking around it. It's a free-form pool. It's 12,000 to 13,000 gallons, has a fountain, stairs on one end, and a tanning ledge. We also got the Hayward Logic pool lights, which were the new design, because most people have the big 8-inch, 12-inch pool lights. They don't do that. They do the small 5-inch lights that would not probably be good, but they gave three of those. They change colors. They dance to the music. They also included a bubbling feature, which is a fountain that's on the sun ledge that also has a light on it that we can turn on or, your pool parties or if you just wanna listen to the sound like a waterfall, but it shoots water in the air under the water. We can control it. It can be as low as 1 inch to as high as 3 or 4 feet off of us. I like the bubbler and the pool heater.

Blue Haven’s rep very clearly laid out a lot of what the project would look like in terms of selection of the materials, what the different phases of the work would be once we got the design approvals to move forward, roughly how long it would take, how the payment process would work and how I could track everything through a mobile app and approve any changes. The construction went as planned. The workers did everything they said they were gonna do. All of the materials came in on time and they put in all the equipment the way it should have. They tested everything. We were waiting on some materials for the rest of our decking for some stone that was out of stock and they couldn't finish the coping until that was done. But there was no delay or holdup on their end. They delivered on time and on budget. The pool is great. We use it a couple of times a week.

The designer was very helpful. He took a lot of feedback and worked around kind of existing constraints. I ended up doing whatever I wanted anyway, but I was very concerned about the level of slope in my yard. There was a lot of push on me in what I wanted as my design because of the amount of slope. But I was satisfied with the timeline. It was good. The crew was fine. They messed up my fence and deck but then fixed it, so it was fine.

I was asked to make my last payment before everything was done, and I didn't wanna do that. I told them, “I just feel like I need to hold off on making this payment till everything is completed.” I ended up going doing it because it wasn't very much money. But it took a really long time and a lot of persistent nagging on my part to wrap up some of those final things, like fixing my fence and my deck, getting a cap for the filter system, and getting the inspection. I had to put a lot of effort in on my own part to get that done. But I still would recommend Blue Haven because the pool is great. They did a good job. The construction process was easy.

He did some tweaking here and there to make exact measurements. But that was what we wanted and what we got.

They were very accommodating on the changes as well. We did the lighting. We requested additional outlets over there by where the pool equipment is. And we did an oversized slab around the pool. So we were going to put the pool in the front of the house on a slope. It was a bit complex because of the slope. But it has a 180-degree view of the mountain range so it was the opportunity to build something really beautiful.

The construction was finished last fall. It was difficult in that there was a shortage of concrete. We had a bunch of delays because of rain. But that was not the fault of the builder. I was overall satisfied. The build itself was good. But I would have liked a little bit more instruction on how to use the full equipment afterwards, and a little aftercare.

Friends ask me all the time, and I tell them that if they built a pool, it has to go through Blue Haven. I hear all these horror stories, but mine was really seamless. We went into the showroom. I got to pick out all of my colors and types of material, and it wasn't pushy. It was just explaining everything and letting us choose what we wanted to do and what was in our price range. Although we upgraded to the nicer plaster, the PebbleTec which is beneficial for us considering would be there long term. And knowledgeable on all the ins and outs so that we could pick where we wanted to spend our money was nice. Any time I needed to make changes, they sent me back a revised quote or contract. And all I had to do was electronically sign it afterward. So, it was very easy. They were on top of it.

I followed the designer from a different pool company because of how good he was. He gave me what I wanted without me even saying anything. He looked at my backyard and got to know me a bit. Unless I had ideas to insert, he just gave me a layout, and I could tweak it from there. We tweaked it a bit after he gave us the initial one. And it's beautiful. I love my pool.

I had a really cool project manager. From start to finish right after we finalized the drawings, he took over, and it was seamless. He told me everything that would happen and after every step, what would happen next and what just happened. And it went by fast. The crews were nice. They would come in and do their parts quickly. And they were pretty clean. That helps.

The hot tub where it's only on one side so you can sit there and look at the rest of the pool was a cool idea. And it has an infinity wall so it runs over like an infinity pool, which is cute and nice when you're sitting in there. He also put a water wall in, and it does make it. It has all the bells and whistles. We have three LED color lights. Everything is manually done through an app on my phone. I can control all of it. It's the Omni package. And it's cool. It also has the anti-freeze so it kicks on. It heats, but it has a heater in it.

We got a pool with a spa done thru Blue Haven. It looks beautiful. Everybody that's seen it is enamored with the pool. It's an ozone pool, so it's a salt pool using ozone as the coronation system. We also got the Aqua pod. We tried to download the app, but it's not been a successful journey so far. The quality of the workmanship and the actual install of the pool is very good. The administration, the coordination with the project managers, and the follow through were not as what I would have expected from a company like Blue Haven and the value of the pool that we put in. They were very quick to do change orders and do all the administration for the change orders, but they did not reach out to me to ask me if there was anything more they could do.

One of the things I shared with them was that I wanted make sure it was on the right time line. I laid out the expectation early, and to their credit, Blue Haven scheduled the day well in advance. They came out on a Friday and did all the layout so that when their dig crew came in Monday, they worked very well. Everybody knew exactly what they were doing. They went ahead and dug it, and they did it very expeditiously. Through the week they had come in and put all the steel and pipes in. By that weekend, they had finished the initial plaster. It sat for almost two months. What they relayed to us was the reason it sat longer than it was anticipated to be was because of supply chain issues.

When they got started back on the pool, they had brought the wrong stacked stone veneer. We reported that, and they realized their suppliers sent the wrong ones. They came and replaced the stacked stone veneer before it got installed, which was fortunate. The stacked stone around the spa and one end of the pool went very well. They did a good job of installing it. The cuts are right and the seams were well done. It was a clean job.

The tile guy did a good job on the tile around underneath coping. He was a little bit challenged with laying it around the tanning ledge and the steps because they have curves on them. But he did a good job at the end. They did a very good job on the Pebble Tec. Then, we filled the pool, and it sat for about 30 days. In that 30 days that the pool had been filled, we did exactly as they said, twice a day brushing it and keeping the water moving and making sure none of the chemicals that they put in would get settled in the Pebble Tec. Then Pool School came, and we were looking forward to that. The guy was very nice, but it was poorly done at the end. He did not explain all of the apparatus and options. He just breezed right through it with no written instructions or warranty books. That didn't go the way I thought it should.

The motor is insufficient for the pool. The pump, according to the label on the side of it, should not be more than 10 feet above the elevation of the base drain, and it's 12 or 13 feet above the base level of the drain. The pump can't pull the water like it's supposed to. It's insufficient in terms of its horsepower. It can't hold a vacuum, so therefore, the pump is having to run 24/7 instead of being able to turn it off and not have to burn power to keep the pump going. When you turn the pump off, it loses its vacuum, and it is incredibly difficult to re-prime the whole thing. We spent over $100,000 on this pool, and I don't wanna have to fight just to do basic weekly maintenance. It feels like Blue Haven dropped off once they checked the block. I haven't heard or seen from anybody. We also have one warranty item that we reported on the spa but haven't heard anything on when they're gonna come and correct that.

Paul, the designer, said he would quote me on the size I have laid out and the depth. He also said he would give me some other options that could save me some money. By cutting corners, by making it round instead of square, I saved me some money and we added some more things. We added a chiller and more bubblers and still came in about the same as we were looking at other installers. He saved us some money and got us the same pool area, just not rectangular. I had no idea that it would be cheaper to build a double balloon as opposed to a rectangular pool. That was the selling feature.

The pool is big enough and small enough. The subcontractors that dug the hole and did the steel were all on the ball, and showed up when they were supposed to and did a good job. We had an electrical surge and it took out our control panel, and Blue Haven was up within two hours to replace it. Their store is good at checking the water samples and telling what I need to do to keep the water proper. I've been happy with them. I recommended them to a few people already. I've talked to Paul and he's attentive. He comes out and checks on the pool. So, all good. My wife and I were in the pool last night and I told her that the pool made it through winter. The process with Blue Haven was very easy and they had the best resources for materials and the best option for tiling. We liked that they have large teams that would work with you. We could tell it was a very professional company. I worked with Gary for designing the pool. We had specific things that we wanted to do centered on our outdoor patio and we wanted a large sun shelf. He was able to give us 3D renderings of the different size options and the different layouts we could do with the space of our yard. He was very knowledgeable and knew what would work and what wouldn't work based on the space that we had and it was really helpful being able to visualize it. I also worked with a rep at the showroom for the tile and stuff and she was very nice as well and made it super easy.

We had a couple of snags with construction, though. Our fence was supposed to be removed for them to be able to fit into the back. We put in the contract that Blue Haven would remove the fence and put it back afterward and it might have been missed. I got the call and they were supposed to start. The guy had come out to see everything and said our fence isn't down. I said they were taking the fence down and he said they weren't. It turns out, it was in the contract and it was overlooked. Another snag was that it was a saltwater pool and they had hooked it up to be a chlorine pool. It was another miscommunication because it was always a saltwater pool. They had to come back out and change the equipment, which wasn't a big deal. We had two different project managers and there were some miscommunications from that. But all of them were always taken care of and worked out.

It hasn't been a completely seamless experience, but it's a great one and we love our pool. We have been very happy with the final product. It's exactly what we wanted. We had a couple of issues with the pump and every time, Blue Haven would come out and fix them. We lived in our pool all summer long and we can't wait to do it again this summer.

When we decided to put a pool in, Blue Haven was the only one that was responsive to coming out and doing the work. They had gone through a management change in the middle of working through it. With the older management, we ran into some issues. But I talked to one of the major players in Blue Haven and he assured me that things were being worked out here in Fort Worth. The group that took over afterward was great.

We built this pol during COVID and during the time when you couldn't buy cars because you couldn't get chips. Any electrical equipment at the time was difficult to get ahold of. Blue Haven actually upgraded me on one thing so that we could keep moving forward. We love our pool and we try to be in it every chance we get. It's maybe a little bigger than we thought but it's wonderful.

Blue Haven gave us a better plan for the money. Also, the designer was good at designing and coming up with something creative for our backyard, which is a bit unique. She took in the yard into account to build the actual pool design rather than just trying to fit in some sort of kidney or something that's pre-formed. We started at the end of 2019. I asked if they would have any issues with supply chain materials. Blue Haven looked at me like I was crazy. And when things didn't happen, it was, “Oh, it's supplies and materials and we can't get coping," forever. And it’s, “Can’t get plaster,” forever. We tried to do everything all together to this designer. They said she made a great design but was terrible at everything else.

I understand the owner was going through a lot of stuff. But the communication was the worst I've had with any company in the world. They ghosted us in the winter of 2020. Blue Haven ended up finding someone to help project manage and communicate with customers. And she did a good job of kickstarting stuff back up. We're happy with the product and the price. But I’d never want to go through everything that we had to go through to get there. If I were to ever use Blue Haven again, it wouldn't be just for the pool. I would hire all subs and manage them myself. They made it all right at the end, but it was a nightmare experience. If you want to build a pool, you could use Blue Haven, especially if it’s a concrete pool. But know that you would have to manage all your own subs.

I want a pool, but I need a pool for a lazy person," and so he recommended this different filter that I paid extra for. However, the kinks hadn't been worked out on it yet. It ended up taking a ** on me and I had to get another one. My pool was all eaten up with algae because of that pump for a while. Other than that, I recommend one of the newer versions of that pump. We had our pool built in the middle of COVID so we knew there were supply shortages and labor issues. The construction took almost five months. There were manufacture defects in the stones that we had ordered and waiting for the new pieces to come in took a while. So, we went at least six weeks with several stones missing from the waterfall wall. Then, scheduling for the last bits of cleaning, concrete pressure washing, the sealing of the stones around the pool, the final pressure washing and cleaning of all the tiles and things of that nature took a while. A lot of it was weather-related since our pool was done in December. But that wasn't Blue Haven’s fault.

One irritating thing was that the drainage pipe from the pool was run directly across the yard to the base of one of my wooden fence posts so that got rotted out and I had to replace it with a metal one. It was frustrating and I wish they would have considered that when they had the contractor lay the pipe. I had no idea that that was where they were going to put that overflow. Still, Blue Haven is great. The whole team is like a family and friend operation. They're all very responsive and kind. The pool transformed our backyard into a very usable, family-oriented space that we truly enjoy. It has a three-tier wall with a single waterfall in the middle and a tanning ledge on one end with two L-shaped benches on the corners of the deep end of the pool. Then, we had about a thousand square feet of concrete poured around the house.

Blue Haven's reps were communicating even in the initial phase of getting out to quote the job and how long everything would take. And we weren't getting good communication from anybody else. So, the process was pretty clear as far as the expectations in how everything would go. We went back and forth with a couple of different iterations of defining what shape we wanted, how big we wanted the pool to be, and where we wanted things moved around. So, it was free for us to customize it and as well as in making recommendations along the way.

While the crews were here, they were working long hours and on Saturdays too. So, they were getting after it. Everything was fair and done like we agreed upon and the entire finished product is really good. We had some flagstone, existing exterior kitchen and patio, and they tied everything in seamlessly in what we already had out there. We also have a tanning ledge and we have colored lights. And we have three fountains on top of a raised stacked stone waterfall on one end. It's a free form pool with an irregular shape similar to kidney. We have the remote for the fountains and the lights turn on at different times and turn off. We have a heater, too. It's not smart, though. I go out there and turn it on and off.

It was a good experience with Blue Haven. With the financing team, it was easy and fairly straightforward. I worked with their designer. We came out and looked at the space. We had a very small backyard, so we were wanting to optimize as big of a pool as we could get. But then we also have easements and utility boxes. There are certain regulations, our pool wall couldn't be within this many feet and they were very helpful with making sure that we were meeting the building code and following all rules, and then working with my HOA.

Our pool has a panel on the back and it has this little smart pad that you can change everything and it gives you the temperature. It's got scheduled on and off time for the filter. We got a waterfall and LED lights, too. They managed the whole project and kept us up-to-date on everything as we went. They helped us with some roadblocks. They were very knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. I was very pleased with the whole process. I have recommended them to at least two other neighbors that are also now having pools put in.

He took my vision and put it on paper and gave me some ideas that I wasn't thinking at the time and made it better. He provided a great design. It was exactly what I had in mind. So he was very good. I was able to add a spa right before they were about to start the project. Chris was able to make that happen without any issues. The pool came out a lot better than I thought, especially the back wall with the waterfalls, the way that it’s raised and you can see it from the house. It was just like I envisioned it. So he took my suggestions to heart and tried to stay within those boundaries, respecting what I wanted. It all came perfect without any issues.

Chris was the guy that I went to for anything. He was weekly stopping at my house to make sure that everything was according to plan and to see if there were any issues that were arising. He was heavily engaged throughout the entire process on a weekly basis on every single phase. So that kept me at peace because I knew that if something was wrong, Chris was gonna find it sooner rather than later. He also answered all my questions as I had them throughout the week in the processes. So that was a huge part of relief, knowing that everything went according to plan and there were no issues going. The final product was great.

Everybody was asking for a pool and she was completely overwhelmed. But she got the design and the iterations back to us quickly. She was very timely. But having to go through the office to figure out scheduling and timing was difficult for us. There was supposedly a project manager assigned to the project that we never ever heard from and that was very frustrating. Once they sent a sub team out here and a Blue Haven person, that person ended up being the one that I communicated with throughout the rest of the process. But that was not the actual project manager that I was assigned. So, it was very strange.

I would recommend Blue Haven because in the end, what we got is amazing and we love it so much. We have water features, and the vacuum was included and I love it. We're very happy with the end product. There was a bit of heartache getting there but the subs were all highly qualified, great individuals. It was just the scheduling was hair-pulling. Blue Haven was terrible but now in hindsight, I understand.

The front office was a mess for a while but they changed some routing of responsibilities to different people, so it was easier to communicate. It was rough in the beginning but I would recommend Blue Haven. I did not love though that I was required to give them my final payment when the entire project was yet to be completed. There were some little things they had to come and fix and normal stuff that happens. I didn't want to hold it up but there was something wrong with the electrical panel and it took a while for someone to come fix it. So, it wasn't working to 100% but they said they needed their money. So that made me a little bit unhappy.

Blue Haven's sales presentation was more thorough and complete than the other companies I called. I liked that the rep listened. Given our backyard, we wanted to go with a simple design. And that seemed to be his style as well so that was nice. I never felt any pressure to upsell anything. There were some areas where we were open to upgrades, but he didn't seem to know a lot about what was available as far as various systems. I was looking for more of an educational piece to be part of the conversation. We've never built a pool before. So, I felt that was missing a bit. But overall, it was good. And we felt comfortable by name.

However, despite multiple requests from the beginning, there was zero construction schedule even in draft form. Construction changes. It moves. But zero construction schedule, zero accountability, a lot of no-shows. It seemed like they're very low, not only just on Blue Haven staff, but their sub necessarily aren't reliable. Once they showed up, they were great and they got the job done, and nothing's leaking. It's good. I'm sure their technical work was good. But the communication and coordination was terrible.

We love the pool. That's what we wanted. We have a functioning pool that works, and it’s 105 degrees. But I should have pushed harder on the pool contract. I should have been willing to walk away from the contract when they wouldn't give me a construction schedule and kept having no-shows and delays, and could not commit. They blew past their contractual completion date with no liquidated damages. They were like, “That's just the way it is,” attitude. And that was unacceptable.

I like the lighting and the Baja shelf on our Blue Haven pool. It has smart features. I have the OmniLogic app on my phone and then on my iPad, and it lets you do everything. It being wireless and able to control everything is pretty cool. The app is most helpful because I could turn the jacuzzi from wherever I'm, and by the time I get home, it's already ready to go. We made several changes while they were in the middle of building the pool. They met them. We had add-ons, and they changed it. During the pandemic, there were a lot of things that were stuck at the ports, and they did everything they could to get parts in for me and my husband as soon as they were able to. The pool’s a little stalled but that was okay because it gave us time for it to be ready for summer. They did everything they could to try to accommodate us when we needed parts and they were always answering our questions and were always very helpful.

We signed our contract at the beginning of February and they started digging in July. Our coordinator, Gary, kept us up-to-date on the process as we were going along.

While digging the pool, one of the guys drove over the corner of my patio and he cracked it. But they replaced it. When I was designing the pool, the designer asked me if I wanted a heater and I had told him I was getting a hot tub, so I didn’t need a heater. Plus, it gets really hot here. I didn’t realize that the way the temperature works here, it gets hot, but it cools down at night. It takes the water a long time to really get warm enough to use. So I should have gotten a heater. I wish I had a little more information back then. One more thing is that the tile on my waterfall on the wall is leaking from the back. They’re planning on getting someone out here, but we're not sure if that’s still covered under warranty because it’s been a year and a half since it was installed.

Some things just did not go as smoothly as they should have gone. But we really liked the gentleman we dealt with. He really went above and beyond to try to make us happy. Blue Haven had the best software of all the pool companies here and that gave us a good look at what we were purchasing. We did a hot tub waterfall into the pool with deck jets, with an LED bubbler and a tanning ledge. It took a little longer than expected, but the job the construction team did was great. It was during COVID, so there was a big issue with supplies and the biggest thing we were waiting on was the pavers for the deck. It took five months.

Blue Haven is the best around. It’s by far better than any of the companies around here. Afterwards, I had a couple of warranty work things, and they came right out and fixed it, and more than helpful, and showed me everything I needed to know to take care of things myself in the future. Everything was great. I also have a wireless controller in the house that I can start the hot tub, the pool, all the lights in the fountains and waterfall, from inside the house. That’s really great too.

The construction folks did a hell of a job and I'm happy. However, when people ask me about Blue Haven, I say things went very well with the construction, but aftercare is horrible. I'd give them an F. Every time they come out, if it's not warranty-covered, then they're going to charge a $300 trip charge plus so much an hour, and this was before the gas prices went up. There are people that will close the pool for a third of what they're charging, but they don't care. If they're not making that money, they really don't want to come out. I made one phone call and I was not very happy with that phone call.

They came out and fixed some things that were wrong. The stuff was warrantied, but the lady on the phone that was taking the initial information was giving me the impression she did not want to send people out because they're unable to charge that trip charge and they can't charge me by the hour. I said, "Yeah, I'll find somebody else."

I was pleased with what Blue Haven had online and the meeting with the sales rep seemed to go really well. I understood that the process was going to take a while because of the COVID time and Blue Haven mentioned that it would take a while as far as obtaining the permits. I understood that and that was fine. But then, there was a lot of turnaround with the company itself. They lost people and they had to bring in new people. So there was a lot of halt to the process.

The project has been finished but I'm still waiting for the final review of the pool install. I sent some pictures of some concern areas where the filler between the coping is missing. It's not flushed. It digs in the concrete between the tile. Also, I was concerned also about the placement of the jacuzzi jets. They're rather low. So I sent them that as well. They had to reschedule the final review two months ago because the head guy had COVID but I have yet to hear from them after that. But I love everything else.

We are sorry you are so frustrated with your local office. During 2020, 2021, and even now to some extent, the Pandemic created extraordinary challenges for thousands of businesses across the country, including pool builders. The repercussions impeded the speed of construction; therefore, work did not proceed as smoothly or as quickly as we all have would have liked. However, every matter related to your project was addressed, and your pool was completed per contract. In addition, a number of credits and thousands of dollars in complimentary items were provided to you. As you have noted, the office is under new management. The new GM began 4 weeks ago—after your pool was completed; he assumed the position from an individual who remains on the local team (and who was always intended to serve only in an interim capacity). Local staff has consistently responded to your concerns with clear, detailed explanations. Although you have a beautiful pool and have received everything to which you are entitled—plus much more—we understand that you remain extremely dissatisfied.

Blue Haven also put a slide in for us. My wife loves a tanning ledge and the girls got plenty of space. It's perfectly what we wanted. They did a great job. They had three different crews to work on the pool and the crew heads that we worked with were all very professional. They were extremely efficient from start to finish. Alan, the General Manager, was one of the best people I've ever met. If I've ever got a question for him, he got right on it. So he was very responsive. If there were any problems, he made them right. He's a great General Manager.

Their salesman, Tyler, was the first one that came out. He was the one that came up with the concept and the layout and how that would look back there. So he did a great job of laying it out initially. The only downside was that our yard was torn up for about 12 weeks. But outside of that, I have zero complaints. Blue Haven was very efficient. They did what they said they were going to do. So if anybody in this area asked me about Blue Haven or if they're building the pool, I'd absolutely recommend them.

I had issues with my pavers where the baby fence was installed but they never came out to fix it and also issues with the screen door and roof they installed is leaking and never came out to fix it. Now a little bit less than year and a half later after blue haven installed my pool, and my pool is leaking again and where my tube goes in from my vacuum is up twisted. Also, the guy that they sent me out for pool school does not want to do anything he just want to be as quick as possible and half the stuff he told me were incorrect and also they forgot to install my umbrella collar.

I had verbally agreed with the guy that sold me the pool to not have planters in the back. I just wanted all pavers but he failed to do that so they can save money. Furthermore the walkway outside the pool that they built for me cracked and I expressed it but they never showed up to fix it. I liked what Blue Haven had to offer. And it didn't feel like they were trying to oversell me. They just laid out a lot of options. And the packages that were offered were superior to the other companies. They weren't the cheapest. They weren't the most expensive. But their quality seemed to be the highest. My wife did more of the idea of stuff, but I can vouch for her that we had some plans. And they really helped magnify them into something a lot more beautiful than we would have gotten had we done it ourselves. For instance, where we put the landscape, where we put the pool itself, they advised us to put it in the back of our property rather than the front so that in winter time we don't look outside at a pool cover, which was nice, because we have a beautiful landscape behind our house. We have to walk a bit, but it is nice. It’s at the back in the corner of our property.

They had people that helped with the landscape and the fencing. And I felt comfortable working with them. They got it done. I never pushed them to get it done because I know how difficult things were in terms of COVID and supply chain. They were very responsive. And they hooked us up with people for pool cover, and with people to help take care of that. They also handled all the permits. In the past, with other projects, it became cumbersome. They just seemed to know what they were doing.

My wife and I both work a lot. We don't wanna come home and take care of the pool for hours. So, it's a very low maintenance option too, which was nice. It's salt water. I felt they had the best package and for the price, the least amount of effort on our part to, instead of working on a pool, we’re swimming in it. And that’s how it all worked out. So, we were very happy. Know what you're gonna use your pool for and let Blue Haven know what you're looking for. They can help make that pool look like what you want. And you can use it for what you wanna use it for.

Blue Haven wasn't the lowest priced but I picked them because they were one of the biggest dealers and they had access to equipment and crews. Some of the other places were bogged down with some of the supply chain issues. My designer was Allan and he's an old guy like me. He was old school and does pencil and paper. But he's the one who had the vision for my pool. As soon as he said, “Why don't you do this and this and this?” That was exactly what I wanted to do. I had some tight constraints in my space in my yard and he drew up a plan and that was what we executed. I brought Sylvan out here and I showed their guy Allan’s drawing for him to understand what I was talking about. He did a 3D thing but that didn’t mean anything. I’m more of an engineering type so I’m fine with the hand drawings.

Overall, it was a good experience. The process started sometime around the 5th of June and the 23rd of December was when I put water in it. I got top-of-the-line everything. I really liked the OmniLogic control that they sold me. That’s working really well. I'm going to do my own pool maintenance because I'm able to do that. The project manager did a great job. He was a little young guy but he stayed right on top of everything. The concrete guys, the rebar guys, and the plumbing guys knew what they were doing and didn't mess around. They came in and did the job effectively and to high standards. I only had one issue on the corner. When they were doing the gunite, the form broke loose and came out. Half of my pool’s out of the ground and they had to chisel the wall back in order to get the stone on the face. That took them about an extra half a day and they fixed it.

I had the ozone unit that I bought and it came on but there was something wrong with it. It's a different product and it's a top-of-the-line unit. I called the factory and they said, “You need to put in a request to have it replaced. We'll send you a new one.” I told them that Blue Haven bought it. I talked to the control guy at Blue Haven and he said, "I’ll take your word for it.” They found out that I knew about as much as they did as far as electronics and controls. They ordered a new one and put it in. It works great.

That was one of the things I also heard about Blue Haven that they would come back and take care of problems. They also offered me a three-month pool service as part of the contract. They would get the water chemicals squared away and they've added all the chemicals. I got a salt pool and stabilized everything. It's given me a chance to work with the guy that comes out here every week and I've read all the books, bought the instrument, and the test kits so I'm ready to go.

Blue Haven was a good company. From the outset, meeting Dominic, their sales lead who was here, went smoothly, down to actually having them break ground last year which was a hard time given COVID. A lot of the supply chain affected the timing of anything around gun it, being shot, rebar, the metal, the plumbing, the electrical stuff. So, they were able to get it through the process expeditiously. They're a good group to work with. They've been upfront with everything when I've called them. For scheduling, they were pretty much on plan, which was basically unheard of given the environment from a year ago.

Dominic made sure all his contractors and employees were first-rate. So anyone who came over, they couldn't have been nicer. They were always upfront. And that helped us, because at the end of the day, we didn't want to be taken. That's why we moved away from the newbies. Less than 10 years, my wife and I weren't going to touch. While Blue Haven has been around since the 60s.

My wife and I sat down and made sure it was what would work best on the piece of property. But also, for our two younger children. So, Blue Haven built it to our specs. So, we like everything about it. Even down to the paperwork, they’re very formal. And they want to file that we had a formal CO issued from our town. So it's not like they built the pool and we never heard from them again. And they’ve enclosed the paperwork to make sure everything is above board for filing. Overall, really pleasant experience with Blue Haven. We're a happy customer.

We like the pool. We have a couple of things that we're still waiting on, like the light fixtures popped off. We were gonna try to put them back on but we've asked the supervisor to send someone out to fix that. But they've taken care of most of the issues. It took a while for them to come out and cut the foam that they put between the coping and the decking but we got it fixed.

Also, we had an issue with the pool vacuum. Initially, the robotic one was the one we were going to go with but I was cutting back costs and I said I'll buy one later. Then, once we filled up our pool, the pool pump wasn't working. Somebody came out and said they got to change the pump and they need to vacuum. I told them I don't have one and they recommended one of the pressure ones. The first and second techs said that and they kept boasting about this one pressure vacuum that the company sells. So I went ahead and purchased that one. But when the third technician came out here, I said that the cleaner is not cleaning anything. It looked just like it did before we turned it on and it had been on for hours. The tech said I was not piped for a pressure cleaner.

I called Blue Haven and said I'd return the vacuum and that I need to get the robotic one. I also told them they sold me a vacuum that doesn't work with my pool. I would have to spend thousands of dollars to get it piped. They said they'd talk to the higher ups and get back to me. They almost made it sound like they're doing me a favor. When the technician came out to give us the robotic vacuum, he said we're the second swap they were doing that week.

Also, the first technician was a no-show and then he got mad at me on the phone. Then, he showed up and he said he couldn't find his glasses and he had to wear his sister's. That's not my fault. There's a window of time that they told me he would show up and he didn't show up. And they don’t contact me the next day. That's not cool. I'm very patient but I was literally hanging out at my house because they said they were coming. Other than that, our guy was really good. He was always polite and respectful. Even with the issues, he really tried. Also, the third technician, Josh, responded when I texted him really late and told me exactly what to do when we were having a freeze and I didn't know what to do.

Rain was starting to cave in my pool at first before the concrete set in. But the construction team was good. They stayed within my budget. One nice thing was that when they had the electrician there, the electrician wanted to charge me an extra $650. The owner picked the thing up for me. They also had another guy there. Also, the guy that cut off the sprinkler overcharged me and I would not recommend him to anybody. But that was not Blue Haven’s fault. They trusted him, yet, he let both of us down. Within a couple of hours, we had in our hand our quote and exactly what it involved. We got everything laid out there. With the other companies we talked with, they told us, “Okay, you get this but then everything else is an upgrade.”

Our neighbors, Mike and Nora, lived up the street from us and they had nothing but good things to say about Blue Haven. I read all the first time pool owner group things and heard how the members' communication with their pool builder was horrible. When we started out, I kept commenting on how we appreciated the communication with Blue Haven and how we didn't have any problems that involved them.

The only problem we had was with one of their subcontractors. They stole some fence posts that we had sitting next to our property that was going to go back up after the retaining wall was put in. I went out there to take stock on how many there were and they were gone. We had just installed cameras and I looked at the footage. I watched one of the concrete guys hauling the fence posts all up. That was on a Friday afternoon. Blue Haven handled the matter immediately and they were appalled with what happened. On Monday morning, those fence posts were redelivered back to our house by the people who took them.

Overall, we're very pleased with our pool. We wanted three waterfalls on the big wall at the back. We put a spa in and a bubbler. We had umbrella holes put in in four places and we also used Blue haven's sister company, Havenscapes to do all of our landscaping. We had a leak around the pool equipment. I noticed It was wet at one point and Blue haven sent someone out immediately and took care of it. We haven't had any problems since.

Everything went fine with the build. They finished on time as promised. I love the pool. I recommended Blue Haven to a neighbor friend of ours, and they had a pool installed.

The only complaint I have is communication with them. During the build process, someone was supposed to come out to work. It was 3:00 in the afternoon, no one showed. So, I had to call, find out what was going on. He said, "Oh, they're not gonna come till tomorrow." All I asked was what I explained from the start. Communication is 100% everything to me. And if you tell me you would be there, then I expect you to be there. If you can't make it, then give me a call. It's common courtesy. And there were a couple of times when that didn't happen. We talked about it and I expressed to them what was going on and why I felt the way I did. But that was taken care of. We also had an issue with our water feature and they came out and fixed that.

We were supposed to get umbrella holders in the pool. And when they came I noticed that there were no holes for the umbrella. Miss Jennifer explained to me that they can be drilled in even after but at that point, I requested a refund. Blue Haven sent the $303 corporate check and the check bounced. Miss Jennifer claimed something about the checks were written and somebody didn't double-check this or that and it just didn't get paid. So, they were supposed to have sent another check. So, I'm a little worried about depositing that because it disrupts my account when I deposit a credit to the money. I opened up my bank account and I'd say, "Hey, where'd that $303 go?" And when I called to explain to them, she wanted me to call my bank and talk to them. I said, "Hey, it's your bank you need to talk to. You can talk to my bank all you want, but the check was written on your account. So, my bank is not gonna help your situation."

We also were supposed to get a UV equipment for the pool. After the pool was complete, I happened to look and I was, "Hey, where's the UV light?" And at no point did anyone tell me, "Hey, the UV light is on backorder." So, went three months into the build, they completed the build, there was no UV light, and they didn't think to mention to me that the UV equipment I paid for was on backorder. So, I said, "Okay. If I wouldn't have asked about it, would you have told me?" And there lies the question. They can't say because that didn't happen.

They were supposed to check on the status and they couldn't give an update on when it may come in, if it may come in, how long it will come in. During the build, if they would say, "Hey, because of what happened last year, there's still some shortage in the supply." But when we were planning everything, there were no shortages. They had everything, this and that.

There was another instance and they came out during the dig and they knocked our fence down. When I called, they said, "Oh, check your contract. They knock it down, you got to take care of it." "Okay, fine. No problem." But our pool equipment was supposed to be inside of our yard and they put them outside of the yard in-between the two houses. The guy said, "No, they told me this morning." So, they dug up in-between the two houses unnecessarily. Once I called the office, the next day they came, they moved it back inside. So now, I have to pay for my neighbor's yard that they tore up. And I didn't call them because the first thing in my head is they would say, "Oh, check your contract. Yeah, we made a mistake. But guess what? You have to take care of it." So now, I have here my neighbor's yard and his sprinkler system because they just came and tore the stuff up by mistake.

The whole mishap with the equipment, placement, and destruction of my neighbor's yard that I have to pay for now out of my pocket left a bad taste. Why are we held liable for damages done to property when you were the one that made a mistake. Check with other companies. And if other companies don't have that same process, deal with them and not Blue Haven.

We sat down and said, "Look, here's what we're looking for. Here's the space we got to put it in. We wouldn't anything deep. No diving boards, no slides. More of a sport pool just for volleyball and basketball, something for kids and stuff like that." Randy over at Blue Haven just popped up a couple of presentations that he had ready and said, "Here's what I can do and here's the size." I said, "Can you shrink it a bit and put it off of there and two on the end." And he designed it out the way we wanted it. It was a very simple process.

I never felt I was pressured into overspending or buying anything that we didn't need. I was more asking the questions of, "Hey, what about a heater? What about this? What about that?" And they just said, "Here's your three options." Paul who runs a place over there is an awesome and very attentive guy. If I had an issue, he was Johnny-on-the-spot. I would put him up there at the top of the list, second to none kind of a deal. I was very impressed with the way they approached us. And even their follow-up and customer service stuff has been awesome.

They put the pool in the same time they were building the house. So, those two had to go hand in hand. They couldn't get to grade until the outside of the house got the grade. And when they did, they started with the digging and got the size of it all right. Four months. I was leery going into the process. But those guys over there made me feel extremely comfortable about structure, putting it in place, the design of it, negative edge wall placing over the lake. They had everything in mind and reassured me that this was the right way to do it. So, I felt comfortable going through the process with them every step of the way.

The only bad thing that I've heard is I had a friend in Tyler who was building a pool and had called Blue Haven asking for an estimate and a design but they never called her back. I felt bad because our experience with Blue Haven is good and I recommended them. But she did not have a good experience with them. One other thing that is disappointing, we used to have our pool cleaned by them on Friday, which was very good for us because we have help with our yard. So, they would come after the guys mowed the lawn and the pool was cleaned for a week. But they changed our day. So, we only have one day that the pool's cleaned now before the guys come and help us with our yard.

When we asked to go back to our Friday schedule, there was no joy. It worked out nicely and we've had it that way for years and years. Juan used to clean our pool and he did a wonderful job. But he was so good at it and he was also good with mechanics that he started repairing pools. So, they had somebody else take over the cleaning. When that happened, Blue Haven changed our schedule. Other than that, Paul has always done a good job and his people continue to do well by us. I would recommend Blue Haven Pools & Spas.

I was looking for pool recommendations. I called five different pool companies to come out and give me estimates. Blue Haven is located in the city that I work in and they were the only ones that actually came to my house and did all the work. The others told me if I wasn't going to spend a certain dollar amount, they wouldn't come out. Others made me send them all the paperwork, scan all the materials then they never sent me quotes back. Others made an appointment, confirmed the appointment, and never showed up. Blue Haven was one of two companies I was able to get a quote from. I gave them my budget, told them what I wanted, and they stuck to my budget.

The designer was fantastic. I had an idea of what I thought the pool was going to look like and he listened to my idea. He also made some recommendations that were actually better. He walked me through things step by step. The designer was the person who came and did my pool opening and spent hours at my house. He let me videotape the entire thing and I still refer back to the videos today.

The crew was great. They would come in, do their work, and weren't disruptive. They had to take part of my fence down and they secured the area well. They then put the fence back up. I would have never expected the experience could have been as good as it was. My pool opened up the weekend before we had the Big Freeze and I had pipes break. The crew helped me with all of those repairs, even though the product was done and delivered.

I have a standard pool and a hot tub. There's a fountain, which is a water feature on the tanning ledge. I have had minor things that are probably standard happen and anytime anything came up, Blue Haven come out, and fixed those issues. They've been super responsive. I had an electrical problem that wasn't their issue and they continued to work with me until I got it fixed. I continue to recommend Blue Haven to anybody that asks me to this day.

Blue Haven Pools was great to work with. They provided very good service when I called. Building a pool in the wintertime would have the downfalls because of the weather. But when the contractors were there, they were fast and efficient, and pretty darn good. The pool is a 20 x 40 rectangular pool with a 3 ½-foot to 7-foot-deep end with an 8 x 15 tanning ledge in it, which is our favorite because we have little grandkids and they can go on the tanning ledge and play. It's only 16 inches deep.

The work crew didn't speak English. When they were pouring concrete, the rebar was sitting on the ground versus floating in the middle of the concrete. I brought that to their attention and the boss came out here who speaks Spanish and she spoke to them, but I watched them from my window because I telework and they still didn't do it. The main office didn't know about it. So Blue Haven needs to improve the communication between their work crews and the office.

Start to finish, I could not have asked for a better company to undergo such a large-scale project with. To start, I was blown away by the design Blue Haven Pools, came up with. During construction, Paul and Randy communicated every step of the project with me, and someone from Blue Haven was on site for pretty much every day of work. This was important because it enabled us to make a few last-minute refinements that we didn’t think of during the design stage. We were also very happy using their in-house financing because we didn’t have to mess with banks that don’t understand the phases of pool construction. I now have my dream pool and there is not a single thing I would change about it or working with Blue Haven!

We spent several meetings to review 3D renderings. It was a collaboration between my wife and me and the folks at Blue Haven. My backyard was a little bit of a challenge. It’s on a slope and they did a good job of looking at the landscape and coming up with a design that matched our backyard. We put a fountain in the back that made the backyard where it sloped down more discreet. They placed the spa in the correct place, which is closest to the house. It's a smaller backyard so they took a lot of measurements to maximize the pool and spa area in relationship to the yard. It was all very customizable.

There were different phases of building a pool and different crews came in. If we have any issues or questions, we typically go to the project manager and he would relay the message to the team. One time, the project manager wasn't there, and the leader of this particular team laying the travertine pavers was really thoughtful and easy to work with. As the back of the hill sloped down, he added some pavers to cover up the back of the pool, which weren't in the design, but he did it because it looked much better.

The pool also got all the wireless fountains and lighting and it was extremely helpful. We turn the features on and off through our phones from the app all the time. At nighttime, we change the lights. It's a feature that I didn't realize how important it was until we got it. Even the financial part was very well outlined. We logged on and we just made timely payments, which was all electronic. Our entire experience was seamless. If there was any little hiccup or issue in terms of the build process, they resolved it very quickly. Then they did a great job in responding to any little warranty issue that we've had, which had been minimal.

I would NOT recommend Blue Haven to anyone looking to build a pool or spa. The beautiful pools that you see in their brochures and advertising are a result of the contractors they hire, NOT a reflection of what Blue Haven actually does. From poor communication throughout the construction process to failure on their accounting department to reconcile the last payment, they lack the ability to practice common sense, much less customer service. From the time construction began, we rarely knew when/what the next step would be and when we reached out for answers, we were left with answered calls and texts.

Our partially completed pool sat untouched for weeks on several occasions, one of which was over 5 weeks. When it was finally finished, we received very minimal information about the specifics of equipment and overall maintenance. So inevitability we have run into issues with our pool and once again, Blue Haven is unreachable both by phone, email and text. It’s too bad I already referred my neighbor to Blue Haven for her future pool because knowing what I do now, I would never recommend them to anyone.

I had four project managers of which I was the third. I never met the first one. The second one was an old project manager that I fired. The pool was designed by the old Blue Haven. The project manager understood the laws of fluid dynamics, why I wanted what I wanted. They got to the point where they dug a hole, designed the pool, wind up the equipment, put a hole in the ground, shot the concrete and then they all but disappeared. Then at that point, the franchisee was sold. The new franchisee took over at that point and they fulfilled what the old Blue Haven did as far as the design went. They got what they were handed, which didn't entirely help matters. There were just some things that should have been corrected or addressed early on, but weren't, although that was fine.

I worked with a designer named Jaime. He worked collaboratively with us and listened to what we were wanting and had a couple of proposals. He did a great job. Unfortunately, there's been an ongoing problem with hot water heater whenever we use the hot tub. It was a manufactured part problem and they worked with me on it. But now, it's been good. We used the high end material for the lining of the pool and it turned out really nice. It was not a predesigned pool. So it had features that we were asking for, like putting a diving board and a slide. It also had two sitting ledges and a hot tub. Jamie designed based on the footprint of our backyard, taking into consideration a sewer easement. Other than the hot water heater not working like it's supposed to, I've been happy with the final product.

The technicians are a roll of the dice. After having a technician come out three different times regarding the amount of chlorine that was being distributed throughout the pool, I figured out the problem myself. Then with the hot water heater, it's been five years now and it still doesn't heat right. I've had someone out there about half a dozen times, which is unfortunate. They changed out different parts. It'll heat now, but it throws different error codes. I would call them and then they would come out and it would work for a little bit and then throw off different codes again. It's doing it again now. But I haven't called anybody to come out because I've kind of lost hope that they know that they're gonna be able to resolve it. Plus, now it's $125 an hour because it's been longer than the three years of warranty. It's not worth it to me to pay them to come out again. But other than that, everything's been great. Blue Haven did a great job. It's a very nice pool.

Blue Haven got to me earlier while the other ones put me out pretty far away. When they came out to do the work, there was no doubt that they really worked hard. The finish we put on it is pretty. I like it. I love the colors and the tile. But we had a few hiccups. My bullnose brick was a thicker brick than the new ones. I had all that removed and we had to add some concrete underneath it to build it up. But it's not perfectly straight. It’s got waves in it and I don't like that. One guy got it straight on one end but the other guy was in a hurry and didn't quite get it straight. They also had to chip some of the old plaster off. They were gonna come back and chip some more off but decided to leave it.

When the pool was finished, nobody came out and inspected it. I was going to talk to them about that bullnose being perfectly leveled. We set up several appointments, but they never made it. They were also supposed to teach me how to go over the pool and maintain it. We've had a pool for a long time so they felt like we would be okay without them coming and going over stuff with us.

I've told two or three different companies exactly what my wife wanted and gave them the exact same details. Everybody else's quotes were cheaper than Blue Haven, but those weren't giving us the design we were after and we were willing to pay a premium. The Blue Haven's designer hit it right on the money. However, I was warned not to use them because they weren't as good. Then I've kept having to change people. The guy that quoted the job and the foreman were fired. When the designer was fired, that put fear in me. But the head foreman stepped in and he did a really good job. They had to do a few things that were harder like hit water when they got so deep and had to drain it. They told me that that was the biggest residential pool they ever built. It's just that it was a waste of money. We never use it. But my wife loves it, so that's all that matters. Overall, they're a good company.
