Andersen Windows is one of the top dogs. It only took them three days to install the windows once they were received. My windows are better than what was there before.

I bought several replacement windows from Andersen and they're good quality. They're expensive but overall, I feel positive about it. Also, the people that I ended up dealing with were fine.

It was an awesome and easy experience with Andersen. They set up, came out and measured. I like the fact that they measured each window and made the window fit that opening. It wasn't like a generic window. I had 12 windows altogether. I put 10 in, which took a day, and then two which took less than a day. My house was built before 1920. Some of the windows didn't open. I had the old rope and weight inside. Some of them broke off. When it'd be windy out, 25 miles, my windows will rattle. But, the first night they put them in, there was a fire truck that pulled up outside and I never heard it. That's how sealed up the house is. It would have woken me up before.

My family has always had Andersen Windows. I'm from Minnesota, so I'm familiar with the brand. And we've replaced a few of our windows in our house over the years and have been impressed with the quality. So, we just wanted to replace the rest with Andersen windows as well. Some were fixed and some opened. Who we ordered the window replacement through, Windows by Jeff, gave us a six-month time window. And that's what it took. They were extremely hardworking. Had strong attention to detail. They were so good at what they do. That's why we felt comfortable going back to them. And they did an amazing job. Compared to all of the home projects we've done, they have been the best to work with. I would recommend Andersen Windows. The products hold up, and you won't be disappointed.

I've had Andersen Windows in the past and I’ve been happy with them. I recently put all new windows in the home and a sliding glass door. My guys were excellent. I know them from Baltimore. And I sent them to a Delaware property that I own. I use them for clients as well. And they're always trustworthy. Their prices are reasonable for the quality. When they took my sliding glass door out, they noticed that I had a rotted seal. And instead of just putting the new door in, they went to the hardware store. They got lumber. They refortified it before installing the door. So, they go beyond and above. My products' quality is good. Their durability is lengthy. And it's easy to order replacement parts or screens if you need them.

I purchased an Andersen 3000 storm door and installation through Home Depot. Everything was great until yesterday, exactly 1 week later, the screen and glass slid out of the frame to the bottom of the door on its own. The door self closes so it wasn’t slammed, just poor quality control or poor craftsmanship. I assumed Andersen was the best, I should’ve came here and seen that 1 star reviews almost equal 5 star reviews. Had I done my research, I’d probably have gone elsewhere.

I built a new home in 2020 that included an Andersen 200 series sliding patio door. Whenever there is a breeze air is leaking through the center seal. The local tech was called but couldn’t repair it. I have called several times but he will not call back. I contacted Andersen and showed them the problem with the seal. The tech felt the seal was defective and sent me a new one. The new seal is made the same way. It appears there is a problem in the manufacturing of the seal. I asked to talk to engineering but they would not allow that. I have spent many hours on the phone and have not gotten anywhere in resolving this issue. This door is defective and Andersen refuses to acknowledge that they have a problem.

My husband has got Andersen Windows in his house from over 30 years ago. But we got one window that needs to be fixed and we just had the sliding doors put in. We were going to wait till it gets warmer out because there are two blinds pinched inside the sliding door and it looks like they're gonna drip water off the blind. So we got the blinds inside the door. The guy put them in and I called him and he said they could come out and just put that in. It’s not a problem. But we weren't going to have him come back out and do it because he just put them in and it was cold. I told him I wanted to wait until it's a little warmer. He said I could call whenever I want and I can wait till summer. He was a nice guy and I was very happy with him.
The sliding door is the only thing I got in and I love it. I like the choices that I had of the doors. There were have a lot. And I liked the colors. I need two windows redone in the house, which will be Andersen this summer. My blinds are inside the house and can collect dirt and dust, and I'm an asthmatic. I love having them in the window.

We were looking for a flush system but Andersen didn't order it. They ordered another system that is not flush, which is like a standard threshold. They're helping work around that because they know that was a mistake from their side. So we are adding some plywood to raise the floor inside, so it matches and seems to be flush, which is not flush by design. But the experience was okay because it was not what we wanted, but they're working around it. It looks okay, but we haven't used it yet.

The patio door installation was fine though it took a lot longer than I anticipated it would. Also, one of the grills was missing from the original shipment. When they finally did send the replacement, it was the wrong size. So I'm waiting for the next grill which is alleged to be sent to my home in Raleigh on February 3rd. I had existing Eagle windows and doors and I want to continue on with that same grade. But Andersen is very disappointing. They are unbelievably expensive. They were $12,000 for one pair of doors and I'm not happy at all. Also, the quality is terrible. I won't be doing business until they improve their quality.

The Andersen windows are really good. I got sliders on two of the big windows and regular ones on the smaller windows. As long as you have them locked, they block a lot of noise. Also, we get a lot less draft as long as we have them locked shot. It's a lot better than the windows we had.

Purchased a Andersen model 400 French Door Unit. Came in. Was delivered. Problem with internal mini blinds. Sent new door. No support on labor for a obvious factory defect. It was a factory defect and was noted the day of the installation. Beware once you purchase it your responsibility to replace things. The sealed internal had 161 blind panels on one door and 160 on the defective side. Now I have to take responsibility to change out all mechanical parts and reinstall the replacement. If anything goes wrong in that process it will void the warranty because I am doing things that are done at the factory. Not a good practice. Never again from them.
Thank you for your review. Andersen's warranty covers issues in the manufacturing process by sending out replacement parts. Labor to replace those parts is not covered.

I've always liked Andersen Windows. So, when they offered an impact window and we decided to upgrade our house, we chose to go with it instead of having those little tarps things that go over your windows or wood over your windows during a hurricane. I called up Ford Lumber from Alabama because they supply the impact windows. The tech came out. And I asked him the different windows and he was obviously sold on Andersen because he sells a lot of them. He also offered other things. But we chose the Andersen because of the reputation.
The installation crew was great. But we waited a long time for the Andersen Windows. Also, a lot of the stuff was damaged when they arrived. There are three items that were damaged, one being we have a four-unit sliding door. And inside, they're double windows. I thought it wasn’t cleaned off until I realized it was. It was damp, marked in the inside of the windows, between one of the windows. That on one of the sliders, and there are two sashes. Different windows, but two lower sashes.
Once they were all in, they're beautiful. There are many things we paid, and we paid a fortune for these windows. We had the things that were damaged prior to arriving to us pre-painted. So, we have the inside white and the outside was another color. But two pieces of trim were the natural wood. They were never painted. We're still waiting on those to come in. I'm looking at our sliders have these two unfinished pieces of regular color wood on either side. More than what I thought should have happened with Andersen. Andersen is known for the quality. And we paid a lot more than my sister did. We could have had that to save. It's still an impact window. Our impact window is not rated any higher than hers. It's just that it was an Andersen window. We know what we hear about them. But that lacked.
We started this whole thing in the early part of this year and we still are not done. And we're getting ready to go into 2023. There's no reason for the alarm system guys to add what they need to to the ones that are missing now until Andersen is totally done. We're missing a door that has to be replaced and two sashes. So, it's three windows that we can have alarmed. So, we would not have them come all the way out here and pay them to come out because it would have cost us, and just for us to tell them, “Hey. And by the way, we have three things that are going to be replaced, so you get come out again.”
We contacted Ford Lumber and they said, “We're doing the best we can do. Andersen hasn't gotten them to us.” So, this is a bit disheartening considering we've already paid. When they got done in October, we paid 100%. Everybody is paid. We could have said, “We're not gonna for this door and those two windows because they're wrong. They're bad.” I paid 100% to everybody because they were installed. But we have not gotten our product. My husband is disappointed and he has made it known to everybody that he wants his house alarmed. We have no security in our house right now.
Andersen is not the only one that costs us money. So did Ford Lumber. We know how business is. We didn’t 100% to Andersen Windows. Part of our payment was for Ford Lumber's part. That's their job. So, for I can't reach out to Ford Lumber and have to jump hoops and ask Andersen Windows to do their thing. Ford Lumber is doing what they're supposed to. I would love to contact Andersen, but I'm afraid I'm going to jump over somebody, and I don't want to get Ford Lumber upset.

Everything went excellent. We were very happy with the price and the workmanship. The only problem was the delay in getting the initial windows because the time frame was tough with COVID. It was approximately 9 to 10 months, but part of that was due to our schedule too. We were leaving for the winter, so we had to postpone it a little. Overall, we're very happy with the Andersen 100 Series product, and we were very happy from start to finish with the whole project.

We got the Five A-Series sliding doors with firebricks on the outside and wood on the inside. We ordered a factory stain on it. But it wasn't even close to the actual sample, which I thought if the factory stained, it would be more consistent. There are some defects with some of the cutting on the wood interior around the glass, and we're working through that.

We changed from a window to a door. It's helped tremendously for the dogs. I'm happy with the product. Everything's working good. I liked that we had the option to custom make it 'cause I don't like sliders. Andersen Windows had all the different options, whether it be wood or a different kind of material to put in there and different glass types. It looks more window-ish and not a standard slider. We have an Andersen storm door. It’s a full glass door where the screen and windows slide into itself. The screen is built-in and the window will slide into the bottom part of the door. The door works well and we like not having to take the glass out to put the screen in. We're having a very good experience with the door. It looks like it's a quality product and we are loving it.

I chose Andersen because they're almost the best of the windows. I ordered them and they're fine, except two of the doors were put in incorrectly, and last winter, I had snow inside the house. I waited. Finally, they fixed one door, but they also have to take off all the trim around the sliding glass doors so they can be put in properly, which wasn't done. Andersen's coming next Thursday, and the trim is coming off. I've been waiting for a repair of the Andersen door for over a year, and I'm up to my eyeballs with this, but it's not Andersen's fault. It's the contractor. However, I know they have to be very tactful because they like my contractor and he buys a lot of Andersen products.
I have a lot of windows as well, and I have no fault with them. Everything that was put in properly works properly. In fact, I got Andersen windows with the construction, and then I was having a porch converted to a room. It was very well done. However, I didn't know and I wasn't asked if I'd like the lip to lift the windows up, so I didn't even think about it. The windows that I didn't need to replace were Andersen and they had the lip. The new windows arrived without any lip and they were very hard to open, practically impossible, because there's no place to put my hand. I bought those in addition to and had those installed on here. I'm not crazy about them because they show, and I can't have windows that I can't open. That was the whole point.

I liked the Andersen Windows. They looked more like the windows I was taking out. They're wood on the inside and they're clad on the outside. I'm very pleased with my windows. The installers were very exact. They showed up and did what they said they were going to do.

I'm not impressed with Andersen Windows. Every window has screws exposed that are shown and I feel like that's very poor quality, except for our picture windows which look beautiful. The quality of the cuts where the handle is to lift the window, you can see chipping on the corners of where they notched the part out. You can tell it was done by hand. If they had a machine do it, it'd be a lot cleaner.
We paid almost $35,000 to get new windows and this is the kind of quality that they're giving me. None of them are symmetrical. One is notched out at a 45, one is 90. Then some of the corners are rounded off to where it's chipped away at the corner, and then some are smooth. We also have two small picture windows and they don't have any screw holes exposed. Then we have this larger one above our sink and there are screw holes exposed. So why is one picture window done like that but this one isn't?
We didn't get high-end windows, but definitely not cheap windows. I definitely would have gone with a different brand had I known that was the quality we were going to receive. The problems that I have should have already been solved with a huge company like Andersen. It's not like they're an up-and-coming company. This is a reputable name company and I expected high-end quality. I felt like that did not live up to the money that I spent. I would not recommend them.

Even if in the mortgage all warranties were transferred to new homeowners. Terrible customer service. Stuck with leaking doors. I was also told the doors are "not waterproof".
Thank you for your review. While installing a storm door helps to reduce the amount of air or water that reaches your entry door, it is important to keep in mind that your storm door is intended to reduce the amount of exposure your entry door has to the outside elements and may not prevent all water or air from reaching your entry door.

I recently contacted Andersen Windows in regards to my windows exterior vinyl peeling, I understood the warranty was 10years and this issue is happening at 11 years. Andersen Windows would not honor the replacements under warranty and the initial cost was beyond our capacity as I’am retired and on fixed income.

So he knew the product. There was a little bit of a delay in getting the item. But I pretty much expected that. I was prepared for a relatively long wait. But so far, so good. We're pleased with the performance.

Building a new home for 2022. Need 4 large bay windows and two large picture windows. Called for assistance since no one is responding to the online contact form (which on their website asks if you wish to be contacted by email or phone). If you select email only, no one responds. So what's that point of asking the question on the website. Called the 800 number listed on Andersen's website. Talked with a Julie. She basically scolded me since I requested to be contacted by email and not a phone call and she hung up on me.
Called back again, talked with a Holly. She was also not too forthcoming in giving me information about the windows. I just need the dimensions since I am building a custom home and the builder is asking for the type of windows sizes so they can add them to the floor plan. That's it. Real simple. She could not answer my questions and is sending me back to my builder. Which in this case, it doesn't work this way since I am dealing with multiple builders on this Earth Home. This is a very, very expensive project and a one of a kind customized home.
I've worked in customer support for over 20 years and was just shocked by the treatment of a customer who is asking questions and looking for help. I guess it's all about the sales and not customer satisfaction. Poor business model, especially during a pandemic. So Andersen Windows, how many thousands of dollars did you just lose today with this consumer. I am moving on to a competitor who will treat me professionally and invest in me and my dream. Goodbye. Will never order windows from this company ever again.

In addition the door lock is very difficult to lock - their response was to send me an article by email. I've had a couple of small issues, but the installer has been helping me with that. One lock broke and popped off so they're gonna replace that. Also, two of the window panes broke very quickly. When we moved to this house, half of the house had Andersen Windows that were probably placed in 2001 and half the house didn't. What we had replaced were the ones that hadn't been replaced. But the panes have changed. They used to have a hole drilled into the window itself. Now, they just sit in there and I’m finding that frustrating. They’re not as good as the old panes. They ordered new panes for me and they replaced those. They’ve been super nice, very communicative, and very helpful.

We went with Renewal by Andersen, assuming that that was part of Andersen. We had a window that needed to be renewed. We had terrible experience. A man came, he looked at it, and he went on the computer. The price jumped up, which wound up being four times the amount. There had been breakage to the large window in the middle and I needed it itemized so I can put it into a claim with my insurance company. The man said they do not do that. Their windows are so good that people pay straight out and don't go through insurance. It was insane and that comment made no sense. People do not portray themselves in business that way.
Instead of giving up on Andersen, I called again and this time it was just the Andersen number. I got somebody who was very informational about the difference between that company and the other Andersen company I was talking to and gave me the name of someone. We called him and we explained what we wanted. He said he needed to come and look at our window. A week later, he still hadn't called us back to make an appointment. I called him and he said, "I work on $30,000 jobs. I don't have really time to do a window like that." That was unacceptable for a business.
Andersen has some people representing them that are not up to working for the benefit of the company. But I still wanted Andersen. I called the number back and told the rep what happened. She said she was going to report that to somebody. She then gave me another number and this time, I was really apprehensive. But I called this number and the people were wonderful. A woman came to our house three times to answer our questions before they wound up doing the job. The day they were supposed to put the window in, the crew came and she stayed on the site the whole time as a helper. She had two workers that were working on the window and they did a lovely job. Once again, Andersen shined through somehow.
Overall, we wound up waiting a while for the window but that's understandable in today's world. I love the Andersen Windows. I would tell others, "Be aware. If you have trouble, just keep calling back until you get a company that you feel comfortable with, which is what we did. And I'm glad because I'm happy with the whole thing."

Andersen Windows gave me a refund for the part I ordered. I still believe the door frame should have been built stronger to accommodate the wear the screws placed on the opening and closing of the handle. Thank you for the refund.
Original Review: Oct. 25, 2021
My storm door handle mechanism failed due to the durability of the frame. The frame is supposed to be covered lifetime. After many phone calls without a solution from Andersen we are still left with a malfunctioning door. We are are very disappointed in their response and will no longer purchase their products. I have recommended Andersen to my family but I will no longer do that. They would not even offer to replace the frame for us. They placed all the blame on us! WARNING…their warranty is false.
Thank you for your review. The lifetime warranty of the door's frame is considered hinges and latch rails. The panel the hardware sits in is not lifetime. The door panel had been modified for larger screws. Andersen does not have an alternate screw pack to accommodate those changes. This is not considered a manufacturing defect, which is what Andersen covers under the warranty.

We are home builders. We built our custom home this year 2021. We had decided on Andersen 100 series windows & gliding doors because Andersen advertises they are superior and they back their products. We were going back and forth on installing Milgard Trinsic, Marvin windows or Andersen Windows. I researched for months as we had specific needs, black interior & black exterior were a must. We went with the Andersen 100 series because we thought they were better than vinyl due to Andersen proclaiming they are superior on quality & longevity.
Unfortunately we have had a couple major manufacturer's defects and Andersen’s warranty process is a joke. They are claiming it is not a warranty issue because the door is within their 1/8” tolerance. Our gliding door is warping and bowing at the bottom. It is pushing into the house when it is cold at night. Then when it heats up the door moves back out. The door has separated from the drywall, baseboard & stucco. The door has a huge gap at the top center letting weather, bugs & dust into our home. The operation is tough and noisy. This door was $2,000 and it is junk. The outside trim pieces are warping also and separating from the frame. Our casement window leaks water when it rains. And several other windows also have warping trim pieces separating from the frame. Our house is 5 months new.
Andersen Windows Warranty is really not a warranty it’s a gimmick. They do not cover any labor. They do not cover what seems like anything. I have been getting the run around for months. I will never use an Andersen product again. I will never recommend an Andersen product either. I am so disappointed that we built our Modern Custom Home using Andersen Windows. The windows have really devalued our home. Now we are left having to buy Milgard products and paying to have these manufacturers defective Andersen Windows replaced at our expense. Buyer Beware. Andersen Windows does not back its products! I highly recommend going with Milgard or even Plygem as their products are better and their warranty & customer service is superior to Andersen Windows!

My house was built in 2009. Sure the windows looked great upon installation. So would a window made from tissue paper. It's now 2021 and we have to replace them all. Every window in my house has to be replaced. Andersen came out a few years after installation and repainted all of the exterior frames because the finished failed miserably. But, what they were really doing was buying time to kick the can past the 10 year warranty. Every sill is warped. Every. Single. One. When the sill warps (bows upward), the window doesn't sit flush on the bottom and as such, nothing seals or aligns anymore.
So, now I own a home on the coast of Maine loaded with Andersen top-of-the-line windows and every winter I pump peel-and-stick silicone around the seams to keep out the draft. Some of the windows are so bad that you couldn't hold a candle near them in the winter wind. It would blow out from the draft. We contacted the builder and he was very upset. He lost his shirt on Andersen garbage and will not install another one. You are paying for a label. If Andersen replaced all of them for free - it would be a tough decision. They suck that bad.

Jason and the Sightline Builders, Inc team, stepped up to the plate with our new door installation. We purchased a home that has four existing Andersen standard and sliding doors. Your team contacted sightline Builders as an authorized installer. Jason came out, measured our existing doors, matching the same model. With the new door ordered, Jason installed two of the three new Yale keyless locks. With our door finally received from Anderson, our installation date set, we were excited to get this door installed. Unfortunately, the Sightline Builders didn't order the door correctly, assuming we had the same door frame as the others. This door was from before the initial remodel twenty years ago.
Jason readily admitted his mistake and went above and beyond making the installation right. A new door frame had to be built along with a matching threshold. The amount of detail that Jason and the team did to make it right exceeded our expectations. Jason installed the new door and locks perfectly with professionally done drywall, stucco, caulking, and finishes. All that is left is for us to paint! We highly recommend Jason and Sightline Builders, Inc. for going above and beyond to complete our project!

Purchased two storm doors and they were installed at the end of June 2020. August 2020 I noticed the glass on the back door following out of gasket creating about a quarter inch gap. In a recorded call to Home Depot and Andersen they both told me it was under warranty and Andersen would replace it. Several days later I received an email saying it was not under warranty and I would have to pay. They are calling the window a component which is under one year warranty and not structure which is five years. The main purpose of the storm door is the WINDOW! I sent an email to the CEO of Anderson and I’ve had no response. Even if they want to consider the window a component and a one-year warranty who is going to be happy when they find out one month after the warranty the product fails and they won’t support you. When the Andersen windows are shut and they're locked, you can't hear anything. There's no wind, the noise from outside is blocked. They're really good windows. The other thing I liked about the windows is that the exterior is very weather resistant. The harsh sun and the wind in Colorado make it really hard on windows. Then, on the inside, with the wood finish, because of the way manufacturing is delayed right now, we ordered them with a pre-color or pre-stain. But they were able to get the windows and they weren't finished, which I was fine with that because the contractor that installed them has a staining team. The staining team came out and took care of everything and matched them to the color that my mom wanted, and they did a really good job. Everything turned out well.
They also told me everything that they were going to be doing. They had a little bit of a challenge 'cause it's a log home, so it wasn't the standard installation like you just rip them out and put new ones in. They had to do a little bit of additional work. But they told me exactly when they were going to start and they got done ahead of time. They also did a phenomenal job cleaning up.

We build our home in 1996 and did not add some of the windows until we are finished in 2000. We chose Andersen Windows because we did a lot of reading and we were told by a lot of contractors that they were nice held up windows but I think the contractors like them because of your prices. Building a new home we first started with our basement. Everything was square and flush especially when it's done by a professional contractor. Bricklayer back in the doors. French and swing were $2,200. RV window was close to $1,500 and the other windows that we had four of them came in to half of that. Oh, we haven't gone up on the top of our route home yet because we haven't felt the need to so there's our livelihood.
I wanted you to know the first thing that happened was the door began to leak slowly after the first three months of put it in. We got a lot of rain that year but at the time Anderson had a commercial with doors with water backed up to four feet over them we thought, "No worries. We got Anderson." Yeah right. The water began to come in and work the door. Water became to began to come in the house along with the mud in the dirt, he called Anderson only to have them say a guy was coming out. Sometimes took him days. He came out. Change the door. Adjusted the door and they finally had to replace the door. Then the second ones that came were the wrong ones. They opened the wrong way and not in. The first ones came and they wrote in the wrong way and we settled with them the. Since the doors were so bad we felt like we were in a second hand store. It was a nightmare for us especially my wife.
And then we were told the company sold and a China company bought them out so the E became a no or vice versa or whatever it was, then in 2003 I think it was the Windows start to fall apart so I called Anderson and some guy told me that, "You got to keep bugging the service department." Even threatened attorney. I just want my expensive door replace, no I don't like doing this but he was right. They didn't offer to come out and do anything until I threatened them with an attorney. I don't even have an attorney and I don't want to sue. Oh, I just want my expensive door replaced.
I'm going to show you pictures of what happened. The front seal on my 8-foot by 6 foot across France in swing doors exterior doors started to come off at the bottom and it got worse. I tried sealing it cuz that's when Anderson said it came to the point where I started buying that black tape that guy advertises. I forget what it's called but that wasn't working. Go to realize the doors are not even paneled with metal on the outside. Some kind of material that pops away from the wood and then the wood was solid on the inside should have been I thought. But it was Ashley Halo so I filled it with spray foam so it would expand and taped off the top so the water wouldn't make.
Can anyone considering Anderson doors I would pass them by. I like the size of the glass in the solid this of the doors but come on at. These doors can't long last longer than I do, I still go in and out of my grandfather's doors and he's a hundred and one. He's got the same Dorothy Allen since he build it new and 1954, not Anderson, so buyer beware, with all the money Anderson makes right now with the high prices in the cost of living you think they would take care of their own that help them get ahead in business. Let's forget the little guy. We're moving on to a Pella. At least if they go down even when they're only out $500 and not 6,000.
Thank you for your review. Andersen's warranty covers issues in the manufacturing process for ten years. Your door is eleven years outside of the ten year warranty. For any questions related to Andersen's warranty, please call at 855-337-8825.

He saw all of that. His bid was $10,000 less than Pella and the price never went up. It was all built-in. The windows look great. They worked fine.

When we built our house, we put all Andersen Windows in. We have two picture windows. And we replaced the little ones on the outside. My son-in-law put in a couple of little replacement ones. It took them an hour for the two windows. Everything was neat, and the tech did a wonderful job. The new ones fold down so I can wash them. We built our house in '78. We replaced all the windows in the house except for those little ones on the side of the picture windows and we got double-hung windows that crank open.
I'm happy with the windows and with the service, but opening them and closing them to wash, the fall down is a bit difficult. I'm 66, so it's getting harder to do that. My son-in-law had to push the button to get them to come down. The windows we have now, the buttons are on where the locks are. And you just push the buttons in towards the lock and the window comes right down, which is so much easier. My son-in-law has shown me twice how to open the windows and I still couldn't figure it out.

We went with the Andersen Windows and they were very conscientious and proficient. They did what they said they were going to do, and they were responsive. I was very happy with the whole process. The windows look beautiful. It works beautifully. The old windows that we had, had a lever at the top and the bottom of the sides that you had to lift up to release the window, to unlock the window, and then you would turn it. That was always difficult because the upper latch would be much too high for me to reach. I'd have to crawl onto the counter to do it. But with the Andersen windows, the latch is on the bottom and I like the way the handle on the windows folds closed.

I have a condo association and the colors had to match what everybody else has. So to get the right colors, I've ended up having to go with Andersen and paying a lot more. But it is beautiful. Plus, I wanted the shades between. So then that brought me up to another level. I have the shades in the windows. It's a far more expensive door but you get what you pay for. It's two different colors, inside and out. But the handle for the outside was the wrong color. So JB Doors & Windows is gonna be bringing the correct color.
The guy from JB Doors & Windows has worked with people who have associations before. My association has given me such a hard time and I was just ready to order something, but didn't quite fit their qualifications. They could have easily just said, "Okay. Fine." But the guy told me not to do that and to wait until I got the approval. He didn't want to put in a door and then have the association insist to take it out. It was the right thing to do. I was just getting very, very disgusted with the association. He calmed me. I'm very pleased. I've already talked to him about later in the year replacing the window in my den.

I was doing research online. And then when I wanted to learn more about it, I looked at one of the certified installers in the area, and it was a group that I was familiar with and knew that they did quality work. We had a problem because one of the bay windows that was either ordered or delivered wasn't the right size. So, they got all the windows in except that. And then they put that in. Now, they are coming in five minutes to work on the trim. There was a little delay, but that happens. They had to reorder the bay windows. But I'm not in an urgent situation, so all was good. I'm pleased with the group that did the install. I'm thinking about hiring them for other jobs in the house.
The real issue that I'm having is a basic issue with the depth of the windows for window treatments. That's not a function of the windows themselves. But I wish I had a bit more information about some of that. And that's what I tried to get when I called in about the warranty, about whether Andersen could install interior mounted shades and stuff. Other than that, I like the choice. I wanted to get nice wood windows because I have wood interior all around. And I know what happened with the old ones. These will not have the same rotting issues from the outside. I've been happy with this.

I bought a storm door handle on their website and on the product page it said it would be ready to ship in 4 days. I thought “great! I’ll be able to put my new door up next weekend”. Planned for this. Took old storm door off. Bought new storm door from Home Depot. Just needed the matching handle (which Home Depot didn’t have). Their shipping page said standard lead time for items is 2-6 business days and shipping is standard 2-6 business days. It’s been 2 weeks and my order still says processing. I reach out to them and they said it takes 21 days for processing and shipping.
Nowhere does it say that and at most from their estimates it should be 12 days. That’s almost double what they say on all their info pages and this is just for a door handle that should be just sitting in their warehouse ready to ship. Why does it take almost a month to ship a door handle?? Now I will be without a storm door for two more weeks and that’s if things are running on time. We will see. But very disappointed their website doesn’t accurately state how long shipping will be and that they inaccurately claim my item will ship in 4 days. Beware and plan for this! Especially if you plan to actually buy a door straight from them or anything custom!

I worked as a contractor for 15+ years and often installed Andersen products for customers. When it came time for me to renovate my own property I installed double hung Andersen tilt wash windows, both painted and vinyl wrapped exterior components throughout our home... 30+ windows in 2003. Our home is near the shore in Connecticut. Early on I noticed that during windy gusty days the windows would rattle and leaked along the sides of the window where the window mullions met the window track. After about the 12th year I noted the beginnings of wood rot of the painted lower window components. It wasn't a paint fail... they were literally rotting from the inside-out along the bottom window mullions. This was on the side of the house that doesn't get much sun... plenty of wind and rain though.
A big disappointment and nuisance, especially now that we are planning on selling our home and we believed that stating "Andersen windows throughout" would be a selling feature...UGG! Next time I'm going to need to consider other products out there in the market... because these windows are not cheap and one would think this was one of the grand "Name Brands".

We have a beautiful sunroom that I could practically live in 24/7 and we love the Andersen Windows that are in there. We have two large sliding window doors that go out two steps onto a beautiful patio that we also put in the backyard. It's picturesque. The one window never closed quite right and never fit quite right. Even Al, who is the co-owner of the Smith construction and a master carpenter, had trouble with it. Now, because of it being getting colder weather and not closing quite right, we were a little concerned about losing heat through that.
According to Al, Andersen had this policy to some extent that you needed to wait six months or a year because of something policy-wise before they would replace that. But eventually it did get replaced. They put the new one in and it fits perfectly. It's all been resolved. But we were a little bit frustrated with the length of time with something that was absolutely nothing on our end or the Smith brothers' end. We would have been a little happier had that been taken care of a little bit more expeditiously.

I bought & had installed 2 expensive exterior double doors Nov 2018 of which BOTH lock mechanisms were faulty from get-go & it took an Andersen repairman TWO visits to fix & who himself blatantly admitted the doors were faulty! Little over 2 years later the lock on one breaks ~ placed a call to Andersen & even w/ my issue documented on their end (had a case # and everything), Andersen’s response was “we’ll mail you a new lock mechanism & send you a video link to show you how to fix it.”
I’ve called, emailed corporate & sent a letter... NO RESPONSE!!! In the interim we’ve had to hire a professional locksmith who took door lock apart & was astounded at the mess... & we had to PAY him to FIX Andersen’s faulty door, lock & handle. Buying Andersen products was the worst decision my husband & I have made throughout homeownership & care. Never again Andersen - they don’t stand behind their product, they don’t live up to their own self proclaimed reputation & they don’t care about their customers once they’ve gotten their money & products are installed - they wash their hands of it all.
Our reputable locksmith with 30+ yrs experience says that Andersen is one of the banes of his existence - he sees more issues with Andersen’s products (50-60% of his business). He himself will never buy Andersen products AND he told us while our doors were bought & installed in 2018, they were OLD models for that purchase date. OMG What the HELL?!?!? And the Andersen rep (after he told me he’d mail me new parts to fix it myself) then told me that I should be “checking lock mechanisms annually to make sure they are in good working order.” Seriously? Worst company EVER!

There were a lot of different kinds of openings and there were very large casement and picture windows, sliders and fixed windows. I did a lot of research on cost versus efficacy. We lived in the northeast and used custom Marvin windows because they were better for up there. Down here on the oceanfront, in the research that I found, Andersen performed better than Marvin, so we opted for that. We did 11 openings out of almost 30 and we're going to continue with Andersen. We didn't want to do anything off-brand because it's a considerable investment in the end. We felt confident with their brand as well.
This is going to end up being almost a quarter of a million dollars’ worth of windows that we're going to end up buying for a single family home and that's going to be because their corporate office was willing to put me in touch with a supplier when I called them. When I got one of their main distributors near me, I called that distributor and I asked who they felt most confident with or who they had the longest track record with. That's how I narrowed everything down and it's what really helped me and what will help me move forward with the rest of the house. I interviewed the individual the supplier gave me along with lots of other people, and that's the individual that came and did the work. He and his crew were absolutely fantastic.

I had Andersen window panes installed in my coastal Oregon home 15 years ago, to replace those installed in 1984. Nearly every pane leaked in a heavy wind and rain. I proceeded to caulk all possible openings, with silicon, even the trim strips around the glass. This stopped some of the leaking, but starting about ten years ago even this did not prevent the leaking. My interior wood frames have been damaged and I worry about dry rot setting in below the windows. I have another big window wall, facing east, that also started leaking and I really fear water damage below one of the windows and a leak developing on the interior.
I called Andersen starting ten years ago but they said they had no one that could help me on the Oregon coast. I gave up. But now I have Andersen coming, with the assumption I am buying all new windows. They have agreed to show up. Should be interesting. My experience was a nightmare. I hired the contractor and paid them at least 2,500 more than any other company. But it turned out that they are a bunch of amateurs who have no clue. After they delivered the door, they sent two people who have no clue how to install it. They were at my house from eight o'clock in the morning to maybe six o'clock in the afternoon or seven o'clock. They could not do it. They already had taken the old door down. I reached the point that I could not handle it anymore. I called their manager and he called someone from the company. They had to call someone from Andersen who came the next day and told them they had to leave one centimeter on each side. He also said they had to center it in the middle and put the insulation. He came a couple of times and told them to do this and that.
The owner came and apologized. They said they'd bring someone else the next day. In the meantime, I have no door so I had to get a bedsheet and put it around the door. Anybody could just walk in and kill me but I had no other choice. The next day, they came and brought another guy. What he did was just hung the door and left for them to finish it up. They got another amateur kid. He removed all the insulation for the old one but he did not replace it or even put it back. They also removed the track of the screen door.
In the contract, it said they have to install a new screen door. Now that they have removed the whole thing and they installed the new one, I don't know how they're gonna do this. I have no clue. Those people should not be in this business. They called me and tried to calm me down because I was up to my ear. I could not stand it anymore. They said they already ordered the screen door. I don't know where they ordered it if it was from from Andersen or did they buy it from a store. If you go to Lowe's or Home Depot, they are there.
I told them the exterior frame has to be removed and replaced. They totally damaged it because they nailed it a zillion times. They kept removing it and nailing it and removing it. They did not insulate the perimeter of the doorframe. The workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. It was very poorly done. They were supposed to cap all the exterior woodwork in aluminum coil but they didn't. They put some plastic. I said, "That's not what's in the contract. In the contract, it says aluminum." He wanted to convince me that what they have is aluminum. I said, "Don't insult my intelligence, please."
The door is supposed to be installed in one day in a few hours. My neighbor across the street had their front door installed. It took them like three, four hours and it was done perfectly. I had a window replaced years ago. They came in two days and they were done, and I have like 30 windows. This is the second door I have installed. I had a sliding door replaced and the same day, it was done. I expected this is supposed to be the same thing. When you have some good knowledgeable people who can do the job, it's totally different when you get some amateurs who have never done the job.
According to the guy from Andersen, Andersen guaranteed the workmanship for two years. How would they guarantee people who have no clue about any of that work? The work is inferior but I have no choice. The damage is done and I'm sick and tired. I still have the work on the exterior frame that has to be redone and I'm still waiting for the screen door. It's been a month and I have to wait until the 16th of November until they get it. I am stuck with the worst company you can ever imagine. Once they put that thing and do it the way it's supposed to be done, I don't wanna see their face anymore. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

But I don't have any concerns of quality. The contractors who came to install were super honest. They texted me when they were coming out. They were always on time. They were very nice. They always wore masks. They were very good. Some of the windows we had were kind of uneven. We have huge, long windows right next to each other and they were uneven and they were able to make everything even, and aesthetically, it looks perfect.

Andersen has expensive windows and is supposed to deliver quality, I wouldn't know, the only thing I have received are screens and hardware. 4 days prior to the promised delivery date Andersen claims to not have the mull piece, literally 4 small pieces that put two windows together, nothing special or unexpected. Several phone calls and requests for a solid delivery date, I am told several stories of why the windows are not being delivered as promised all involving the mull. HD couldn't make heads or tails of the notes entered by your company, the HD Andersen line agent and area rep were surprised as this wasn't normal since this is a standard window. The promised return call from the area rep, still waiting to get after two weeks. You guys are on top of it lol
Of interest is the statement that Andersen takes 4-6 weeks to make a window. For some odd reason, in the age of computers, Andersen does not bother to check stock or order parts if needed when they receive an order I am locked into and have paid in full. Claiming all of your window are made in house yet you need parts for some undisclosed company is a fabrication no matter which way you slice it.
Two weeks after being told back orders happen deal with it, I am told the "new" ship date (not delivery) is a month out. Delivery will take 10-15 days more and it not their responsibility. Exactly when does Andersen take responsibility for anything? I could have made two consecutive orders during this time, from anyone, had it manufactured, delivered and installed before Andersen figures out how to make this window. Andersen wasted my time, stopped my progress and did more damage than they can possibly understand, but will. Ordered 9/11, promise date 10/13 4.5 weeks. Back ordered 10/6 notified HD 10/9. New promise date 11/9 4.5. Delivery 10+ days?
For a standard window it will take 2-3 time longer than industry standards with no guarantee. Why am I paying top dollar for this type of shoddy work. The lack of clarity, ability to find out why the mull is back ordered (non Andersen mull kits void the warranty) and how it is Andersen needed to start over making the window again is mind boggling. Honestly this entire fiasco is a flat out lie.
The $2k I paid may not be much to Andersen, it was months of saving up for this disable vet on a fixed income. All I wanted was the truth, Andersen CS and escalation dept acted as if this were my fault, I needed to be a good little customer and do as I am told. I made several requests to have someone contact me to explain how this took 2-3 times as long as it should for a normal order, all of which were ignored. You really should have answered my questions. The excuses should have been more believable. Why would I trust Andersen to produce a quality window or honor a warranty after this. Why should anyone?

We purchased a new storm door. Box was sealed from the factory but parts were missing. Instructions were missing. Instructions did not match door. Door had no holes drilled into it as noted. For us it was a security issue as we have dogs. It was a stupid terrible mess and made it so that we could not open our door. We called customer service no less than nine times. They have an offshore service where their mission is to not help you and they are unable to speak English on a helpful level. Finally we got a person in the states by the last name of Paulson. She said all the right things. Looked at our documentation and said that if we sent her a copy of the receipt that a refund would be sent. We sent it. She said she did not get it so we went it again. Then again... It's been months and really all their efforts are to delay and deny. Andersen takes down any and all negative comments on their Facebook page. So those reviews are not honest.

We are building a new home and purchased both 200 series (double hung) and 400 series (casement) windows for our new home. The 400 series were almost all in good shape - we had one that the weather seal needs to be replaced. Most of the 200 series windows are not in good shape. Scratched glass, not latching, top sashes lean to left, marks and scrapes on the wood, outside wood exposed where wood has been chipped, jam not nailed, latch for tilt out not working. The list is long. I wish we'd gone with all 400 series because I feel like we got a lot of 200 series windows that should have gone into a discard pile.
I would never buy these windows again and am sorry we did the first time. I'm pretty sure there are better windows out there than the 200 series Andersen. We are trying to get the issues resolved and were assured that they would be resolved quickly but that is not proving to be the case. Our build has come to a halt as we wait for Andersen to come up with a resolution. Very disappointed in Andersen windows and their ability to resolve issues quickly.
Barbara,
I apologize for your experience. Please reach out to the Andersen Dealer that purchased your window package. They will address the issues with you.

This summer I have had four series 400 windows installed. Two of them have a center stationary window with a casement on each side. The screens do not lay flat. They are uneven. On my Pella windows - basically the same design have two levers on each side to hold the screen evenly in place. The new Andersen windows have only one in the center of each side of the casement. It does not do the job. I am very disappointed. They definitely do not live up to the Andersen reputation.

We have many windows in this house. The Andersen windows installed when we built many years ago have screens that fit. We recently had two new 400 series windows installed which have unacceptable gaps between the screen frame and the casement. I would be embarrassed to sell these to people. Had I known my very expensive new windows would have inferior screens, and that the business who sold them to me would not take this seriously, I would have made a different selection.
Thank you for your review. The screen can be gently flexed to close the gap on the frame. If you would like to discuss this with our service team, please call at 855-337-8825.

We purchased the midview storm door 400 Emco. We had a previous Emco door which was very good. They are under Andersen now. The door is very poorly constructed. The interior side is pieced together. Very sharp edges protruding. Molding around window loose. Tried dealing with customer service. Unfortunately they are outsourced. Could not understand person. Dealing with email, she couldn't get my name correct. But most importantly the issues were not taken care of. Basically I was told to live with the door and to sand and take care of the sharp edges myself. I would not buy this door nor recommend to others. I submitted pictures as evidence to them. Went and bought a Larson door. What a difference! Higher quality and well manufactured door.

On 8/11 I called about a door hinge rail and was told lookup the serial number and go online to order it. If I ordered early the first day would count as part of the 1-4 day process and even with that, it should ship in 1-2 days. On early 8/12 I ordered (order # **) the part # 38577 door hinge rail. On Monday 8/17 I checked online and my order was still in process. I called and got a foreign man who told me that it takes 11 days and forget about the 1-2 day thing. I asked for a supervisor and was given a story, put on hold for 45 min and then hung up on. On 8/14 (7 days after ordering...) it's still in process not even shipped. I called again and got nowhere but spoke to a supervisor who was useless as all support has been. It's now 8/20 and still in process! Can't get to speak to someone in US as I get put on hold then hung up on after a long wait every time I requested. I have no storm door on my house and this poor service with foreign product help is just wrong.
Thank you for your review. After reviewing your order we see your part arriving to you on August 26th. Andersen's production facility was hit with a derecho that delayed shipment. We will review your calls and use them as training opportunities for future communications with Andersen.

We built a new cabin in Northern Wisconsin in 2018. We purchased the E-series windows because they have blinds between the window panes. We had a similar product that we loved from another company in 2 previous houses so we were eager to try Andersen's "new and improved" version. The windows were placed in the fall. The blinds arrived bent and the strings that raise/lower the blinds for one window broke immediately. They came to straighten the blinds but you can still tell where they were bent.
During the winter all the windows had condensation half way up. We have not had that problem with new windows in any of three houses in the last 20 years, same climate. The Andersen rep told us it was because we had high humidity due to the new construction. We are in northern Wisconsin. High humidity in the winter does not occur! But we patiently waited through a second winter. No improvement. One of the windows cracked and they did replace it. Now there is mildew along all the casements. My husband took them all down and cleaned them. Andersen's customer service reps are very nice but the company will not replace the windows. They state the E-series is being re-engineered and they admit there are faults with them. They will not give us any other product to replace these. And recently another string used to raise/lower the blinds has broken.
Our area is experiencing a gnat infestation. These windows are so open at the bottom that these gnats crawl in under the windows. We vacuum the window sills every morning because they are covered with gnats! So unless you like condensation, broken blinds, mildew and gnats inside your house I don't recommend purchasing the E-series windows. Other companies have better products and I wish we had used ones we were happy with in the past, even if we had to get service from a greater distance.
Thank you for your review. Condensation on the interior of the glass is caused by high humidity in the home; this is not considered a manufacturing issue that would be covered under warranty. If your blinds are broken or malfunctioning, or to learn more about managing condensation, please call at 855-335-8825 for further assistance.

I bought 4 x Andersen E Series Eagle patio doors. 3 of them are 8-foot patio doors. 2 of the doors get stuck when the outside temperature hits over 90 directly under the sun. When It cools outside and temperature goes down, the doors open fine. I bought these during my remodeling in early 2019. I noticed the problem during the hot July month and I called Andersen. They sent over a contractor in August 2019 who said that the patio doors were not installed properly and he was showing me all sort of ways to prove why it was not installed properly.
I am an experienced home builder and this guy could not explain what not installing properly has to do with doors getting stuck when outside temperature goes over 90. His only explanation was the metal base frame expands and retracts under the heat and because the patio doors were not installed properly, when the metal frame bends, the doors get stock to it.
By the way, this metal he is talking about is made from steal and it is not possible to bend by not installing a door properly. I let it go until this summer 2020 and again the door get stock once July temperatures hit over 90 during the peak of the day. I took video of door getting stuck and opening properly both during cool and hot outside temperature. On top of that, one of the doors, the glass broke without any reason. I called Andersen and they would not take responsibility for it and I had to pay about $700+ to have a new glass sent to me. I passed on the $2000 to have it replaced by them since again, I am an experience home builder. I am going to continue documenting this issue and call Andersen again. This thing is diffidently going to go to court if they don't take responsibility for it.
Thank you for your review. Andersen's products are designed for all climates throughout the United States. Andersen covers issues in manufacturing for ten years non-glass components and twenty years on glass for manufacturing defects. Andersen sent a service provider in 2019 and found nothing that would be covered under the limited warranty. Please contact our Consumer Support at 855-337-8825 if you have further questions.

We had a 3-pane patio door in 2000 installed. It is a beautiful French door with many issues. First the handle broke, had to replace it. at the 10 year mark I started seeing mushrooms growing on the bottom of one of the panes. Kept painting the outside and the inside, but nothing helped. This year after the snow melt, the bottoms of two panes were friable and saturated with water! the door has to be replaced with a cost ranging from 9k to 12k. I thought by buying Andersen we have a guarantee of quality, but that does not seem to be the case. I was told the newer models do not have a seam on the bottom which had allowed for water to seep in, but that does not help me now!
Thank you for your review. Sorry to see your door has failed outside of Andersen's warranty timeline. Please give us a call at 855-337-8825 to assist you with replacement door panels. Another option for replacement is to reach out to your local Andersen dealer or Home Depot.

Well that did not happen. I was on hold for 1 hr so now I'm waiting on the phone again for 2 hours. There were only 11 caller AHEAD OF ME. WHAT? DO YOU HAVE ONE PERSON WORKING? THEY CAN WORK FROM HOME. What has happen to this company. I've never seen a company that works like this. Maybe we should look at other companies that sell similar items.

I placed an order online. Said 7-11 business days. Called the first time customer service said it was in process should receive it within 7 days. Called the second time customer service said we should receive it in 21 days and the order wasn’t even in process yet. It seemed like they have no Communication between customer service the order and management no one knew where was my order or the status. Therefore I asked customer service if it’s going to take more than 21 days to cancel my order and he said sure I’ll cancel it now. Worst customer service communication. Don’t care about the customer. Just going to replace the whole storm door with a different company.
Thank you for your review. We were able to find your order placed with Andersen. We apologize in the miscommunication of your parts order; this part had a 14 day manufacturing lead time. We will review the calls made to Andersen use them for future training purposes.

Sales rep came out to our home today only to tell us it would not be worth their time to only install 2 windows. They said they are an elite window company but only installing 2 windows is not cost effective. We wondered if they meant for them or for us given how they treated us and our home. We have a beautiful home that had all new windows replaced in 2013 minus two windows in our master bedroom. The sales rep told us over the initial phone consultation that today's appt. would take 60-90 minutes and it only took 3 minutes tops. In that 3 minutes the sales rep insisted we buy 4 windows (even though we do not need 4 windows) and insisted that it would not be worth our time to have them install 2 windows. We said ok and will be going with another company.

I had two large Andersen windows put in and so far the quality is excellent. I paid to have the best see through window screens but after they were put in they were not see through at all. So I called them and a person came out and told me the manufacturer didn't make the screen tight enough and one was warp. I struggled to like the screens since I paid extra but I couldn't live with it. When I hard from Andersen she was going to charge me over 400 dollars for the screens which were not even 4 months old. I called and they said they would pass it on to the manager. I have never heard back from them. Andersen has poor customer service when my windows were over 7000 dollars. Helen **
