We recently had a bath remodel installed by American Standard. The quality of the work is substandard, even though the salesman assured us that the installers are not third-party installers, the installers work and are trained by American Standard. We are embarrassed to admit how much we paid for their services, it is extremely overpriced and the customer support after the install is deplorable, to say the least. We have a second bathroom in our home that we will be remodeling but rest assured that we will not be contracting with American Standard and we will let everyone that we know of our experience and warn them against dealing with this company.

American Standard was very thorough and it was a good unit, so we had no problems with it. Compared to what's out there, American Standard is one of the best ones that are out there. The quality is good. I love the quick drain. It's got the two drain option on there that really get through the water quickly.

We paid $23,000 for a walk in tub. Mediocre product and lousy company. They don't stand behind their product. After a year our seals on the door failed. We've wait 2 months for warranty repairs. Had an appointment for today only he never showed. Called and it will be another week before someone else will come... maybe. We can't use the tub and they don't care. Do not buy from them.

We had a tub-to-shower conversion. I've got a seat, grab bars and a handheld shower, plus a regular one. I like the whole thing. It gives me a lot more room. The installation took a couple of days. And the guy has to come back because my doors keep opening up on their own.

We wanted to get a walk-in tub and I wanted something that was made in America. I started looking online for something and American Standard stuck out. I went to their website and put in my name and said that I was interested, and I had a call 10 seconds later. It was amazing. The sales rep was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. They kept in contact with us during the whole process. They were very accommodating with anything that we needed as far as financing.
We got the top-of-the-line tub so everything was there. The installation team made sure that the floors were all covered. They had to take apart some doors to get it in but they put everything back. It took a working day. They were very friendly as well. My husband is more for showers and the tub has a shower. So, he's happy with it. I enjoy the tub very much, especially the jets and the soaking. The tub was a little expensive but just the lifetime warranty was worth it. If there are any problems at all, all we have to do is call American Standard and they'll come and fix it.

I saw American Standard on a TV commercial and I liked the lifetime warranty on their product. The sales rep had a tablet when he did a presentation and showed us a video. He also had a brochure. The two gentlemen who put the tub in were very nice and cleaned up everything when they were done. But less than two months after the installation, I was having problems. The tub was turning on supposedly clearing the lines. I had it on for one day. I had the breaker turned off and then, I turned it on. The tub would turn on randomly and run from anywhere from 2 minutes to 32 minutes. I tried to call American Standard about it and I said I didn't use the tub so it was not clearing the lines. And the rep insisted it was.
The techs came out to supposedly fix the tub. They replaced the air pump and it was still doing it. So, I had to keep the breaker off because I didn't want the tub running when I wasn't home. I wanted to make sure that my house didn't burn down while I was gone. I turned the breaker back on after that and the tub did it again. So, I turned it back off. But I have had it on recently. It seems to be okay. But I'm gonna try it out this weekend. Because this was only last Friday that the techs came. I'm very dissatisfied and for the amount of money that I paid for the tub, it's not worth it. I'd like to get my money back if I could and they can take it out.
American Standard’s customer service is in Texas so there’s a time difference and I always had to wait a couple hours before I called them. In all of the times that I called them, I never got a ticket number or a claim number or had any email confirmation that I called or what I called about. I waited three weeks from the time I called and when I called and asked what was going on, I was told the techs were on vacation and the guy was gonna call that week because they just got back. But he didn’t. He just called me last Friday. The other time when they were sending a part to me, I said I didn't get a part. I was told they would call when they get the part and they’re ready to install it. I asked when that would be and the rep said it’s whenever they call. So, the customer service sucks.

We had a representative come and explain what we would get and how the installation was gonna go. We had an American Standard walk-in shower installed and it was a good experience. My husband is happy with using the shower because we got the safety grab bars and the safety seat. Plus we got a free bidet toilet. My husband had some recent surgery this last year and the walk-in shower has been helpful for him and he uses it every day. He likes it, especially the seat and how secure it is. It doesn't slip and folds up nicely.

I like that American Standard had more jets than most tubs and it had a great warranty on it. The quality is fabulous too. I'm more relaxed after being in it. I like where you can have the air off and also the water. You can put them both on or one or the other. That's very nice. I also like that they also give you the therapy sense that you can put in. The installers were great. Cleaned up everything. They were here at 8:00 and they were gone at 2:00. Every question we had for them, they had the perfect answer and they demonstrated it and they filled it. We were happy with them.

We're satisfied with our experience with American Standard. The rep was good. She wasn't pushy and she explained things. The installers did good work and kept things clean. I was pleased with them. We like the walk-in shower well. However, we could have gotten extra shelves. There are two shelves in there. We could have used another one or two. But other than that, it's fine. We got a good product.

We got a walk-in bathtub from American Standard and it had the largest door and the door swung out on it, which is different from most other walk-in tubs. My wife had fallen in the bathtub so we needed something that she could get in and out of easily. The sales rep of American Standard was okay. The guy who came to install it did an excellent job, as well. It took him two days. My wife's thrilled with the tub. However, the salesman told us something that didn't turn out to be quite true. It turned out better than what he said. But still, he should have known better, 'cause he told us we were gonna have to knock out part of the wall, but when the installer got there, he said, "Why would we do that? We had to take out the bathroom countertop," which is what I thought. But that was the only thing that I had a problem with.

So far, my experience with American Standard has been great. We looked other products, and American Standard is guaranteed for life. They've already had to come out once because I didn't know how to get the seat thing open, and it turns out it was stuck. They sent a repair person out at no charge and he fixed it in about five minutes and was gone. So, we were well-pleased with the service that we got. My wife is disabled and she was getting to where she couldn't just comfortably step in and out of the tub. So, she's enjoying the product immensely. She can go in there and sit down and fill it up and do her bathing. She really does like it.
I'd tell others to consider American Standard because they did really good work for us. In fact, the bathroom that we put it in had a really narrow doorway. It's in the master suite of our bedroom. So I said, "If you can equal the distance from one side of the opening to the other side of the opening and just make one big opening that goes into the bathroom, that would tickle us to death." So, they cut the hole out, got the tub in, and they sheetrocked and did the first plaster over that, and had it ready for us to finish it whenever we wanted to. My wife has to pick out a paint color. So, we will just repaint. She was wanting to change the color of her bathroom anyway. So, it's ready to go.

The in-home sales rep was kinda kooky. He was fine, but American Standard said he was making too many mistakes. Like he didn't measure everything he was supposed to and then they found out that the hall wasn't wide enough. So, I had to have the hall widened, which I wasn't expecting it, but I paid it. But the installation was good. There were a few things that he had to fix that weren't expected. He added a door that he wasn't expecting to add, but he did it. He forgot to put the smoke detector back up, but that was nothing. He put it up, but it was just one of the last-minute things. I love the bath.

BUYER BEWARE, VERY Dissatisfied with this purchase. Tub was extremely expensive, and many promises were made regarding its performance that ended up being lies or false. They also installed a promotional toilet, and apparently measured incorrectly and now my bathroom door will not open past half-way. They rushed the installation, and hacked up my bathroom, and to top it all off, the tub is terrible. The seat position is terribly uncomfortable and I am unable to relax. I was able to bathe and soak in my old, standard bathtub, and with the American Standard tub I am unable to soak as it leaves a large chunk of my torso exposed because of how the seat is designed, and I am a very small woman, I can't imagine how bad that would be if I were taller.
Additionally I was told it was fast filling and would drain in 2 minutes, but I have to sit cold and wet for nearly 5 minutes before I can open the door. The salesman made a great many promises to make the sale to me, including if I were unhappy with it I could return it, but so far there is nothing that I find redeeming about their product. I paid over $20,000 for a large piece of cheap ugly plastic that I cant hardly use as it hurts me. Every time I do use it to bathe my floor floods, because they have designed the tub so that any water that splashes around it will drain onto the floor. I reached out to the company and was given the run-around, until they cut off communication altogether.
I was looking into walk-in tubs because I have mobility issues and now find it very difficult to use a traditional tub. Unfortunately they talked me into spending a lot of my hard earned money for something I can't hardly use. Now I still have a tub that I rarely use, but I also lost $21,000 dollars. Check BBB rating for Safety Tubs LLC, the parent company of American Standard has an abysmal rating on the BBB with many stories similar to mine, I wish I had done so prior to purchasing, so I could avoid being swindled.

The installer did a good job putting in the shower and it was done in one day. I've had it for about six months now and everything looks good. The price was real high, though. Since we bought ours, I see a lot of them come on TV cheaper and they go so many months without a payment. We had to pay $500 down but others can go six months or a year without their first payment.

The saleslady lied to me. I am aggravated about the lien on my house. I didn't approve it and didn't know that was what was gonna happen. But that's not got anything to do with American Standard. It's got to do with the people who financed it. I'm very pleased with the tub. I didn't think the price was gonna be that much, but it's a good price. This one got all the bells and whistles. It would be a good deal for somebody. I was also very satisfied with the father and son team who did the installation. It didn't take them six hours to install the tub. There wasn't any electric over there where the tub was so they ran the electric. They worked together real well and didn't leave a mess when they got through. I'm gonna have to get a new water heater though. The one I got is 40 gallons, and it doesn't last.

My hot tub quit and I needed to get a new one. I saw the American Standard ad comparing their tub to other tubs and it sounded like it was a Cadillac. I figured that was the one that I'd get. The rep had answers to all my questions. He's been around there for a while 'cause he knew the ins and outs. He told me exactly what was gonna happen and it exactly happened that way.
The installation was awesome. There were three of them. One did the electrical and they had one guy that had to cut the doorway to get the tub in the house. They had a main guy who was in charge of the whole thing, but he did a lot of the work, too. It was seamless. You could tell the crew had been experienced. The guy set it up originally then they called me a couple of weeks later and said they needed to do it differently and make it a garden tub. When the construction people came out, they said, "No, they don't need to do that. We'll put it in the way the old one was on the wall." I'm enjoying the tub. The way everything is made from the plumbing to the fixture, the tub is top-of-the-line which should be 'cause the price is accordingly. The jets could be a little more powerful but there's enough of them.

I do recommend American Standard Walk-in Baths to family and friends. The sales rep was pleasant, down-to-earth, have good people skills, and answered all our questions. The installers seemed to know what they were doing. There were two guys and the job took a day and a half. Their work was good. My grandfather likes the American Standard walk-in bath. There were the grab bars and then what came with the tub. The locking mechanism on the tub is really great. The jets work well for him. He feels better about getting in the tub. He's taking baths on a regular basis now. He's 83. He was having weakness, having difficulty, and not taking baths as often as he needed to because he couldn't get in and out of the traditional tub.

American Standard had everything I wanted and the rep answered all my questions. However, the installers had to work with it a while. They had to set it up on one end just to get it in. The house is a very old house and how they had to get the tub in was real tight. There was no laying it down flat and walking it in there. They had to stash it standing up on one end and roll it in. Also, there are three doors right there. They're all in one little alcove. They had to take a real sharp turn to the left. There was no way to take one in in one room and put that in into the bathroom. They had to take out a bunch of stuff that was in the way.
The tub does the hydrotherapy that I wanted done. There’s a little air flow valve that moves the jets up or lowers them. The other day, I was trying to move it so I get can get more hydrotherapy on my lower legs. It popped right off my hand and water started shooting out that one valve. The guy was over here yesterday to fix it. However, I regret getting the tub now because it's too small for me. I'm 6-foot tall. It makes it a little difficult for me to soak in it ‘cause the water doesn't fill up above my breast. It's also more expensive than what it should be.

The sales rep from American Standard was a nice guy and the installers did a good job. They got here at about 9:00 and were done at 5:00. I don't use the air very much because it's messy but the jets on the tub are good. They squirt water on you and it’s powerful. It does its job and massages my back a little bit. I'm somewhat disabled and before this, I couldn't get in and out of the tub and the shower was in the basement, which is a perilous set of steps. Now, I can get cleaned easily. Plus, it's a good place to relax. There are tread things on the bottom that keep you from sliding around. There are three of them and one of them is loose and doesn't do its job. But it's not that big of a deal.

Today is June 18, 2024. Contract was signed February 5, 2024. Over 4 months of aggravation and unprofessional cooperation. The installation is pathetic. Done by 3rd party subcontractors. Salespeople lied. Cost is over $17,000.00. The job is still not completed or satisfactory. Calls go unanswered. American Standard "supervisor" will not schedule a date. We do NOT recommend American Standard. If this is what the American standard has become, then we are all in harm's way. You may contact me at ** concerning this installation/purchase in Clear Lake Texas. We now seek an professional craftsman to complete the job.

The young man who came out from American Standard was very good. I told him I just wanted the plain stuff and he got it for me. So, I was glad. A father and son team did the installation and the son had been working with his dad for a long time. He was very good at telling you everything you wanna know and the father was doing whatever they had to do to put the walk-in bath in. I like both of them. And since my husband just died a few months ago, I would like to have hired those two guys to help me around my house. They were excellent. The one who sold the walk-in bath to me and the other two who were putting it in were polite and respectable people. I look for that. Nowadays, you don't get that all the time anywhere.
When the showerhead was being put in, the young guy was very honest with me and said that if I didn't pull it all the way, it'd drop water in my basement. But I've never tried that. This company should try to figure out what causes that. I had a regular bathtub and it had all these jets but since I had my back hurt, I wasn't gonna try getting in and out of a tub. This is a simple one and I just walk in it and do it for my safety.

The sales rep was honest and we got some discount on the installation so we didn't pay full price. But nevertheless, the installation was done within a day and the original sales indicated it might take more than a day or two. It was faster than the original estimate, which is a plus because there was a considerable amount of demolition of the old tub that had to come out. Overall, I'm happy with it. Also, the quality is what I would expect for something that I paid this much for. It's acrylic so it's a little bit higher-end and I expect it to last longer than your average walk-in tub.

The installation of our American Standard walk-in was good. The guy who did it and his helper were very good about it. Cleaned up well afterwards and explained the operation and were very friendly and it worked out well. I like the tub-shower combination. You can have it both ways. The rapid fill water and the rapid fill drain are a plus, too.

Installation went well, and I like the quality of the walk-in tub. The massaging jets work for me. However, I've got a few questions on it. When I put on the whirlpool, some little black spots come out, and I need to make it stop doing that. I'm not sure if it's mold or what's coming out of it. Besides that, I was pleased enough with American Standard that we went ahead and had a shower put in too. I'm really loving the shower. It really works well.

American Standard is synonymous with excellence. The sales rep was 5 stars all the way, and the installation was fine. It took two days. Two guys came. One was a plain grunt to help carry the tub and the other guy was an artisan. He did all the installation, setups and the plumbing and electrical, and it's been great for me. The features of the tub are nice. It is highly adjustable as far as the temperature and it has an aerator and a bubbler and it's perfect. It works really nicely. It's either American Standard or nothing. They have been at it for a long time and they know what they're doing.

I've got a walk-in shower from American Standard. When their rep came out to sell it, he was professional. I shopped around before I did this and people would scratch things on little pieces of scrap paper which had a number on it and hand that to me. It didn't look very professional. But American Standard's rep had a little folder that he gave me and everything went in there. When their guys came out here for the installation, they were right here on time. They took a look at what I had, told me an estimate of how long they would be, and they beat it by about 30 minutes. I had to let it wait 24 hours before I could use it, but I've used it every day since and it's been wonderful. I can't give high enough accolades for their salesman and the people who did the construction. I was really impressed with the company because they were totally different than the other people that came in here and what they had written down when they left.
The way you turn the hot water on is different than what I had. It has two little arms that stick off and you got to figure out which one operates from one showerhead to another showerhead, then the water temperature. So the installers showed me how to do all that stuff. They also asked me where I wanted to put my shelves at and I told them. I have arthritis real bad and I can stand up for a while. But after a while, I have to sit down. With the walk-in shower, I can go from one shower head to another and never miss a beat. I feel safer in it, too. The one I had was small compared to what I have now and I'm able to turn around everything without feeling like I'm going to fall out of the shower.
Then I like the fact that the shelves are there. I ain't got to balance the stuff on the edge of the tub. There's nothing I would do differently if I could except maybe put more little shelves in there. The price is worth it. You're paying a good price for it, but you're getting a good product. You could probably get one cheaper, but you're not going to get the combination of sales and service that I got for cheaper money.

The sales rep was very polite and showed us and talked to us about everything. We were very pleased with him. The people who put in the walk-in tub did an awesome job. They came that afternoon and left everything and then, they came back early the next morning. They never stopped and hooked up the hole day. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves. They were very good. I love my tub. It's easier for me to get in and out so that helps me. I had a hip replacement, and I can just get in and feel comfortable. My seven-year-old grandson loves it. He likes to come over here and take a bath. He likes the lights.

I like American Standard's lifetime warranty, not only for parts but labor too. The rep answered our questions and was very upfront with us. He was a good salesman. The installation team did a wonderful job. My husband enjoys the tub and when I used it, it was good. However, I didn't get the hot water that I would like and I wish it wasn't as expensive as it was.

American Standard is beyond excellent. They came out, shared a video and measured the bathroom for installation. The tub has a shower on it also which we didn't want it, but that's fine. The installation was magnificent. It took them half a day to get it installed and working. They went over turning the water on and off and everything that needed to be done for us to understand how to operate the tub was done. I love the tub. It's very helpful for me because my husband and I have back problems. I soaked in there this past Saturday and haven't had any back pain since then. It is an expensive tub, but it's worth every penny to us.

My wife liked American Standard's presentation and everything about the product. The rep wasn't overbearing and answered all our questions. The installers did a great job taking down the glass doors. They got the electrical connections done and the water line connected to the drain. They put a front wall between the front side and back side because they had that extra space there. The installation was fast. They were glad it wasn't gonna be such a chore. They didn't have to pull out an old tub and the opening was big enough, so all they had to do was to slide it in and put it where we wanted the tub.
I get in it, sit down and take a shower on the little hand sprayer. Whenever my wife's got an ache or pain, she wants to get in and enjoy it, and she does. She likes that it drains real fast. Her biggest thing is it takes forever to fill up. But there's nothing we can do about that because of the existing water lines. It's a little pricey though. I went online to find out who it’s financed through, and I got their information. When they had it processed, I got the first bill and paid it.

The American Standard rep was very nice and polite. The installation of our bath went fine, too. My wife uses it the most and she likes it because she's had some problems with her heart. And she gets to sit down and take a nice, hot bath. The only concern I had was, we were supposed to get a free toilet with a bidet. But they said the toilet that they had to install in there was the same thing we had. So they said it wouldn't make any difference about the toilet. I said, "If that's the case, forget about it." They ended up taking $300 off the price. And then I see on TV now, the toilet's worth $800.

The gentleman from American Standard was very polite about everything. The installation was five hours. It didn't take long. The installers came in, put down runners everywhere so that when they brought stuff in and out, the carpets were protected. Afterwards, they cleaned everything up. My mother enjoys being able to use the walk-in shower. It would be a big help for her.

I picked American Standard was the salesman said that I could also get a bidet. As you get older, bidets have great appeal. He was very pleasant. I had to change the date that I had for them to come, and he helped me with that. There was a young man who put the tub in. He and the young man he had with him were nice. The only problem I have with the whole thing is they were here for 12.5 hours. But it was after my bedtime before they left, and I didn't understand what he told me about how to operate it. I know how to change it from a regular shower to a hand shower, but there's a lever on the side of the big shower head and I have no idea what that does. And they have several things on the bidet, like a massage. I have no idea what it does when I hit that button.
It disappoints me, and part of it was I didn't ask him any questions. I just wanted to lie down and go to sleep. It was 9:30 at night before he left. For somebody in their 90s, that was too much. I didn't get the instructions that I should get. I'm struggling along trying to figure out how to take advantage of whatever the features are. I don't understand it all yet, but I'm learning and very happy with it.
It's easier to take a shower when you don't have to step over the side of the bathtub. That should come with non-skid. I was given strips that have to be put on. If you sell something to someone who has balance problems, it should just come with it. Other than that, everybody seemed to be very pleasant. They made sure what time they would come and when they would leave. The installation went smoothly.

The guys who put the American Standard walk-in tub in were good. They cleaned up every mess. The only problem I had was the guy thought my water heater was big enough and it wasn’t. I couldn't use the tub but I could use the shower. So, I had to get a new water heater. The guy told me he turned the water up as hot as it’ll go and that way, I can mix my cold and not use as much hot. It’s wonderful. I love my walk-in tub but the reps sold me such a big tub. I had one before and it was smaller. I asked somebody and they said maybe the area where it came out of was bigger than what the smaller tub would fit in.
I just turned 90 and at my age, I just can't keep stepping over that bathtub and taking a shower. So, I got the walk-in tub. And whoever moves into my house is gonna enjoy that. I lived in East Peoria and I had this, and when I got ready to sell the house, that's what sold the house. So, I sold the house the same day they listed it. The Realtor told me that the lady had arthritis really bad and that they had different people going on until about 7 o'clock that night looking at the house. At about noon, she called me and said these people offered me $5,000 more for the house because the house was too nice to go for what I was asking.
I am very satisfied with the walk-in tub. It was gonna cost me but at least I can take a shower every day. I've got my money's worth. The first time I had it, I filled it up and that night, I was in the living room and I kept hearing this stuff would kick on and run and it scared me to death. Finally, I called the company the next day and I asked what that was. They told me that it kicks in because it takes all the water on the pipes. So now, I just shut the door. The walk-in tub seems like it's slow to fill up. I get in there and it'll fill up the bottom, where your legs are. I put some soap on my spongy thing that I use and it didn't look like a lot. So, I put more on there. And by the time the tub filled up, I had so many bubbles that you couldn't even find me and it was just going over the side of the tub. I learned that lesson. Once the jets kick in, look out.

American Standard has been wonderful. The sales rep came in. We talked about it and he made sure I understood exactly what everything was gonna cost. The installers took care of everything in a day and made sure I understood how everything worked. They were very professional about it. They needed to know where my electrical box was located. Once I showed them the fuse box, I didn't really talk to them much until they said they had everything done. It went really quickly and very smoothly. The quality of the new tub is excellent. It works really well. I like that it fills up quickly. You're not having to sit there for a long time waiting for it to fill up. That's a wonderful feature. The cost was a little bit more than I was expecting, but considering the features, it was worth it.

Dealing with the rep from American Standard was very positive. He went through all the features of the product. We were interested in the safety shower and he answered multiple follow-up questions. It was shocking that the installers said they would do the installation in a day. They ran into some challenges so there were some delays because of the confusion with the electrician. So, it took a day and a half, which was still amazing.
The seating, spaciousness, controls of the shower and the convenience of where the grab bars are are my favorite features of the walk-in tub. It seems very durable, and easy to clean and maintain. So, it looks nice besides being functional. We purchased it for my mother who is 93 and at the same time we got the safety shower, we got the bidet toilet. It makes getting her showered and cleaned up so much easier. She was having regular problems with urinary tract infections and she hasn’t had one since November. We got it installed in October. American Standard is high-quality and durable.

The American Standard rep that we dealt with was named Herrick. He was very knowledgeable in explaining about it, and gave us a decent price. He was here when he planned and did everything he promised to do. We had two installers that live nearby or in this area of North Georgia and they did a very good job in one day. They were professionals and they knew what they were doing. My wife loves the tub. She likes the easy access to the style of the tub. She needs something that she could sit on, a walk-in tub rather than what we had.

American Standard is overrated and overpriced. The interest rate on the payment is ridiculous. It's 25%. I'm rushing to pay it off sooner rather than later to avoid this. It's $318 in interest in one month alone. That's usury. At the time they put the tub in, I thought the installation was good. But since then, I've had leaks on the side when using the shower. Part of the problem initially with water on the floor is there were no shower curtains made to suit the level of the tub. The level of the tub is higher so I had to cut a shower liner to be able to put it inside the tub.
American Standard needs to come up with a shower curtain that makes sense. With that kind of money, it should have come with a shower curtain that fits the tub and also weighted to stay in the tub. I have to put my bubble bath bottle to hold the cut-off shower curtain. It's not convenient. But the workmen who did the installation were very good. I've been able to call them with questions after the fact. I was also very happy to have the tub. After I had the installation in October, I went up to New York and fell and broke my hip. When I came home, I came home to grab bars and everything that I needed for that situation. Had I not installed it, it would have been very difficult.

I tried another company before American Standard but they wouldn't give it to us 'cause of our age. They wouldn't let us finance it. I gave American Standard a try and they came out and approved us 'cause we're not that old. They gave us details on the tub. But the showerhead has got a leak in it. My husband called them, and they'll come out and replace it. One of the jets on it doesn't work as well. I can feel it on the left leg, but I don't feel it on the right. Other than those, everything is good.

The rep did a good presentation and we put half the figure down in cash. But I didn't realize the interest rate. The rep didn't explain the high interest rate on the balance very good. My husband had to take the door frame off the bathroom for the installers to get in. He did that himself. So other than that, everything they put in was fine. I was under the impression that the American Standard tubs all come standard with a heater in it and they don't because ours doesn't have it. But the tub is okay. We enjoy it.

I've thoroughly enjoyed working with American Standard. Their sales rep was very nice, friendly, and not pushy. The installer who came out was fabulous. He told us to move out of the way and he could get it done, and he did. He had the tub in and he was out within a day and a half, but their sales rep initially told me that the installation would take about two days. I love our walk-in tub. I like the jets and the lights. I get in 45 minutes in the dark with no overhead lights, just me in the dark and the tub lights. Also, if I'm soaking for pain, it helps me to sleep at night. I would tell my friends that American Standard is fabulous.

American Standard’s reps were willing to come out and tell me what we needed to know and show me samples. They explained everything and I was pleased. Besides, I know the name. The sales rep was nice and knowledgeable. But during the installation, when the installers were about done and doing the caulking, somehow they switched from white caulking to almond caulking. So now, I have yellow around my tub and it should be white. But other than that, they made sure that everything fit well. So, I was happy. The cost was ridiculous but I paid it because I wanted the walk-in tub.

The installation was surprisingly incredible. The man that came and did it, he did it by himself in less than a day. It was way more than I would have even expected and the quality of work is exceptional. The tub is everything that was supposed to be. The only bad part of the whole thing is it's a little pricey, but everything is these days.

The American Standard rep we worked with was very helpful. He answered all our questions and gave a presentation on the computer so we could see examples. He did a good job. The installation went fair. It was an all day. We expected it would be a good part of the day. They said we would be without water. They would have to cut off the water for 30 minutes and we were without water to our house for six hours. That was a little awkward. But the guys seemed to be very conscientious and they worked quickly. The installation went smoothly. We got the toilet and had to get them to come back because it didn't get a good seal on the floor, and they had to come back and reset it.

So far, our experience with American Standard has been good. We called them and they set up an appointment. They got right on it and they sold us a better tub than other people. Their sales rep explained the product very well. As far as the installation, we didn't even know the guys were here. They were prompt. They showed up when they said they were going to. We stayed out of their way. They did what they had to do, and it all went well. They explained the process.
Me and my father are happy with our walk-in tub. We purchased it for my elderly mother and are just getting her to use it, but me and my dad are getting good use out of it. As far as the price, compared to what we looked at here in town, they were more expensive but they had a better quality tub. By looking at the construction of the tub, American Standard has a better product. It was worth it. So, we're totally satisfied with it.

I was contacted by the in-home sales rep and we agreed to meet and talk about our requirements. He was a very pleasant fellow and knowledgeable about his company and their products, and he answered all my questions fully. We got along great so he was a very effective salesperson. We were simultaneously doing a walk-in tub and a shower retrofit. So, the installation team was here for a number of days to get that accomplished. And likewise, they were pleasant fellows. They answered my questions as well and were very thorough. They cleaned up well after themselves and left our job site in great shape. I had a very positive experience with them.
The new tub’s quality is excellent. Getting used to a new product is a learning experience but we've had no issues with quality. We've never had a walk-in tub before so getting fully familiar with it and getting used to it is a progressive process. We like the features of this tub. We were looking at Kohler originally and changed away from it because we found the design and the features of the American Standard to be more suitable for us. I looked at the website to see the product description and there were some videos and things. So that was helpful. The incentives that were offered at the time were a contributing factor in my price evaluation and we also got into some financing options that were attractive to me at the time. We've got good value for our money. American Standard is a top brand for bathroom fixtures and the one that we selected because of their long history. They've been in the business a long time. So they know what they're doing.

The American Standard walk-in tub is nice. I love it. But it costs too much. It shouldn’t have been that expensive. I was able to buy it but I got a loan for it. I'm able to pay my bill but for people like senior citizens, the price should be way lower than what that is because it's not worth that much. For what I paid to get that installed, I could have gotten my whole bathroom replaced. I didn't know that my water bill was gonna increase because I'm using more water now but other than that, it's okay. I don't get a chance to use it that often because I don't want to pay the high water bill. But I use it. It takes away all the aches and pains. The installation fee was quite pricey but the installers did a wonderful job.

I wanted to get a walk-in tub and the American Standard rep advised me to get a shower instead that would help us. I'll be 94 very shortly and probably, my home will be for sale. He said it would sell better with a new shower than a walk-in tub. So, I bought what I did. The installers were very courteous. I didn't see them too much, but they let me know what was going on and what they were doing. I couldn't ask for more than that. There was somebody who called me right after I got the product in and asked me if I was happy with it, so that made a difference to me. I'm really happy with the final product. My family is also really happy with it. I like the grab bars. They're good for me. It's just the seats kind of stick unless you wipe it off with a towel.

American Standard has styles that I like. They were also having a special where they included a bidet toilet. They were able to come out quickly and do the installation within a couple of weeks. The sales rep was very nice. My husband had Parkinson's disease and we talked about that and how beneficial the walk-in tub would be for him. I have arthritis and it would also be beneficial for me. There was no pressure whatsoever. The installers were very nice and professional. They were also very good. But the installer had the wrong color of caulking, so he had to come back the next day and put a new color of caulking. Originally, I bought the tub for my husband but he passed away two months after I bought it. So, if I knew then what I knew now that he wouldn't be around to enjoy it, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. It’s like a debt over my head now. But I enjoy it. It's very well built. When I use it, it's very nice. It’s relaxing and it helps with my arthritis.

In August of 2021 I paid over $17,000 for a liberation walk in tub. I thought that American standard was a great company!! Boy was I wrong!!! They advertise lifetime warranty but they do not have enough help to do the repairs. You can see pieces of the paint that is peeling in the black tar like globs that come out of the jets. It is so disgusting!!!! My doctor has told me not to use the tub because of all the infections that I have been treated for. This has caused me so much pain and my medical bills are piling up. My husband has also had some health problems. I feel like we received a defective tub that has had one problem after another. The orginal door was broken when I received it and I have had to have a few house calls to repair other things. I called early in March complaining about the black globs and never received a call back for service. On March 31st the tub started leaking so bad that it was "Raining" in my downstairs bathroom.
I called for service on April 1st and they told me that I had to wait until April 10th. No one showed up for the repair nor did not receive a call from anyone telling me about a delay. I have had to call the company to get updates and I am told that the repairman is working on an install and cannot make it. The leak has cause major damage to my downstairs bathroom and hall closets. My insurance company told me that I better stay onto of this because of american standard poor service. The leak has also cause electrical problems. My insurance company needs to know the cause of the leak so they can proceed with my claim. I am fearing that there is a mold problem caused by the leak because of a cough that I have developed. I am so disappointed with my purchase.

We had a KOHLER tub down in Florida and we loved it, but it was so expensive. It was almost 28,000. American Standard seems to be a better tub with how they explained it and how it was made and all the pluses. It was still really expensive but we are getting a lot for what we're getting. It is a nice tub. It is in a smaller area. So, it isn't as big as we wanted but that wasn't anybody's fault at all. I do notice that it doesn't seem to heat the water. The one in Florida had an actual heater. So, you could stay in there for two or three hours if you wanted to at the same temperature. The American Standard one doesn't seem to do that, and it seems to have cold water coming out of some of the jets when you have the jets running. You can't stay in it for very long but otherwise, it's a good tub.
The American Standard sales rep was great. He was really nice and I didn't feel like he was trying to push us. He was just telling us the facts and that was nice. The installation took two days. The installers did a great job. They went above and beyond. The only thing is they had to cut out linoleum and they left a little piece right in front of the tub. So, we always had to have a towel down for the water, but the installers told us about it beforehand. Overall, American Standard did the best they could.

I bought the tub over the phone and a rep came out to install it. He measured it for everything, explained everything to us, and was good at what he did. He cleaned up after himself and I’d give him a great recommendation. I love the tub and it was a good experience altogether.

Everything was good with the sales rep from American Standard and the installation team did good. But there was a little problem because they didn't measure correctly on my flooring and they had to get some more supplies and redo it so that the actual flooring that was showing would be covered. So, they did that and I was satisfied. I love the tub and the shower. But I had a bad experience with my downpayment. We gave it to the rep and it was processed through my bank three times. It would be processed, then it would be placed back into the bank account, then it would be processed, and then placed back into the bank account. It was $1,500. Then, again, it was done. Finally, I had to get an investigator to investigate. He made one or two phone calls. My money was put in the bank and everything was cleared out. But it took a while. So I was very unhappy about that.

The American Standard sales rep was very informative, very nice and professional. The installation team was great. There were two guys that came and did the measurements and had me sit in the tub and explained everything. They were very thorough and they did a good job in installing and with the cleanup. They were very good with the service that they provided. I love the tub. I have no complaints at all about it. I had knee replacement surgery and I had my hip replaced about several years back, and it's very convenient for me. The only thing is the fragrance beads that you put in a little dispenser don't dissolve and I don't really know how often I'm supposed to change them. I need to call somebody to find out how it works. They're in a little pouch, but they don't disintegrate. I'm not really sure on how to use those. I have the same ones that was put in when the tub was installed.

The two guys that came out here knew what they were doing and did a perfect job. We’re 84 and 85 and we don't use the walk-in tub as much as we should, but when we do, we've enjoyed it.

The sales rep was good when he first came out but I was sent the wrong setup that I was supposed to get. He said that he would give me $250 if I take it because some of the installers hadn’t been working. I said that's $200 and I could live with it. And he promised me that. American Standard ended up giving it to me finally after some months. The walk-in tub is a little pricey but I'm a man of my word. If I said I’m gonna do something, that's what I'd do. So, I went with them. Everything went good with the installation. They showed me how it was gonna be on this tub. Since I’ve started using it, I’ve noticed the walk-in tub is safer.

I like the price of American Standard and their lifetime warranty. My experience with their sales rep was good. The installers were also excellent and they cleaned up. Now, it’s safer taking a shower and a bath. I just wish it was cheaper. But it's worth it.

The tub itself is very nice, but a couple of things that the salesman didn’t mention include the fact that they recommend a 50 gallon water heater. Mine is 40, so ok, but not great. The other thing is the widening of the doorway to be able to bring the tub in. He said that it was no big deal and they do it all the time, but they do not do any painting. Well the guys that installed my tub really hacked up the doorway and then left. The replacement door that they gave me doesn’t even open all the way. I’m paying for way more than painting to make this doorway presentable again. I imagine most of the companies that widen doorways take a similar approach, but the consumer should budget accordingly. I didn’t factor in construction costs. Also I can’t find a receipt and I’ve searched my email under safe step, walk-in tub, Midwest remodeler, and nothing’s popping up. It shouldn’t be this hard to find a receipt for such a big ticket item.

The tub has been great. It's been the greatest thing that my mom's had in a really long time. But the wax ring wasn't big enough and it leaked water down into our basement a little bit. The guy came back out and fixed it. Everything has been good on it.

The reps were very good. The installation was quick and clean. It was nice. But I do not like the billing. I never get a bill and that puts us behind when we all get the bill.

The sales rep that I dealt with was very nice. The installers were good. They were very fast. They knew what they were about. They did a very nice job. I like the tub. When my husband, came home from the hospital, he wasn't able to do as much for himself as he is now. The tub made everything easier.

We had an American Standard bathtub in a previous home. So we installed one in this house. The installers did all the work within the timeline. They also cleaned up and everything was back just like it was. Everything went fine. We like the tub. My son uses it every night.

The sales guy was great. He explained the process and measured everything. The installation took longer than expected because it was in a weird spot. But the installer did a really good job. The tub is nice. It helps with the aches and pains. But it's pretty expensive.

We contacted American Standard and the lady that came out convinced us that we would go with them instead of the other company. She was very knowledgeable. The installers were good. It took them two and a half days. It was a little longer than anticipated. Nevertheless, they got it done. We had a couple of parts that didn't function correctly at first, but they sent somebody out to fix it. So, it’s worked pretty well. If we had to do it over again, we might put some more thought into what product to get and any additions of bells and whistles. But we're fairly satisfied with it.

The sales guy that we worked with was very nice and knowledgeable. Everything he did sold us on it and there wasn't pressure. It was like we had a conversation. So A-plus on that. The installers finished the installation in one day. They were very careful bringing things in and out. The work they did in the bathroom left no damage. It was an all-around good job. I like that you can open the door of the bathtub and immediately sit down and pull my legs up. That's very helpful for me and my disability. The water stays pretty much the temperature that you put in, which is very nice. It's very relaxing. The price was a little high. But only because we're seniors. So it was a big gob of money to put out. But that's all right.

We're happy with the information that the American Standard rep provided. Their price was good and the installation was done professionally. The installers of our American Standard did a really good job. I got a walk-in shower and I like the final price. I also like that I don't have to climb over the bathtub anymore. However, I thought their price was a little high. But when the other salesmen from other companies came, I didn't think it was quite so high.

The American Standard sales rep was really informative and gave me all the information I needed. They came on time and they did all of the installation. It took them two days. They were very neat. They kept everything clean and it all went well. They did a good job. I'm happy with it. It looks good. I like the dual showers because I've got a seat and I can stand up as well. My mom likes it too. She was impressed with it and the way it looks and functions.

The sales rep who came by was very knowledgeable in explaining everything but there might have been a miscommunication between him and the installers. What he showed design-wise wasn't what happened. We had a Whirlpool tub in there that was bigger than the standard tubs that would go in there. We have a walk-in shower and that tub and they were going to center it into that opening and put shelving all the way around and that's not what happened. They still had the little pony wall from the Whirlpool tub on the side where the glass part reaches up with the shower and it wasn't centered. I'm assuming it was the way the piping was but the salesman said they could center it up so it looks real nice and that is not what we got. And behind the seat, there's a three-foot blank shelf -- just the edge, which is real close to the shower, and I don't really like that.
The installer worked with us, though. He did not take out that little pony wall but he added a portion on top of that and then tried to angle it to make it look nice for where it is. It looks all right and it's holding up, but that's not what I was expecting. Also, I got it for my dad and he thinks the seat is too high because he can't get his shoulders comfortably in the water. He's not real pleased with that and I don't know if they have different size seats, they didn't say anything to me when they were putting it in.

The rep seemed very upfront during the sales visit, was very professional, and answered all the questions. The presentation that he put on and the size of the tub seemed good to us. He went over the specifics of the tub and what they would take care of to install it. But I haven't heard from them about the installation.

I called some of the other companies and never received callbacks but American Standard called back right away to make the appointment get started. John came out for the presentation and he was extremely professional, courteous, and mindful of my needs. I was pretty impressed by that. He wasn't trying to sell me something and was more interested in matching services to my needs.
The install itself went good. They got here at around 9:00 in the morning and advised me of that upfront. Then they worked most of the day, took a lunch break, and then came back and worked till around 4:00 in the afternoon. There was some noise involved, but they did a really good job of mitigating most of it and the dust and everything that comes with any kind of construction like that. It was a two-day project and they had to do quite a bit of work to take the old one and put the new one in. But they were pretty quick about it and kept me informed if they had to leave and come back or do whatever.
But I called them under the warranty clause because the water is draining the wrong way. The way the tub is set in there allows the water to flow down away from the wall and down the front of the tub onto the floor. It shouldn't be draining to the front of the tub. I've called them about that and I got the runaround. They said it's not a warranty issue but a shower issue. I have yet to get them to acknowledge that they're gonna send someone out or that it's something that's covered under warranty.
John gave a great presentation and if it lived up to that whole thing, then okay. But I've been a little disappointed with the tub. It takes 10 minutes to fill. After you take a shower, you fill the tub up to soak because it's got jets and massage things and you got to sit there after you had just been wet to get the water level up to normal for 10 minutes. I wish I had known that upfront. I wouldn't have bought the tub. But on the drain part of it, they installed extra motors in there to drain it quicker so it drains in about 2.5 minutes, which is great.

The sales rep was very nice and cordial. He was a friendly guy. But the contractor measured the flooring of the shower incorrectly. We could've had it two inches wider and because of that, the shower is smaller than it needs to be. We're disappointed because it was a lot of money. Also, he didn't make it 32 so there's a gap that he had to fill in and that gap doesn't look good. It looks like it's a gap in the floor. It doesn't serve its purpose. We needed that extra two inches in there. So that part is very disappointing to me.
American Standard tried to call me several times after it happened but I didn't want to pick up the phone because my husband was still very mad about losing those two inches. But the installation team was really nice. They had a quality control guy with the whole time. So they had to be on the ball. That guy versus the contractor had different ways of wanting to do things. It didn't affect us, but I could tell that it was causing friction among the three of them.
Another thing was that they had to create some sort of bulkhead to hang the showers. They had to mess with the wall. We have one of those semi-rough, semi-surface walls, and they didn't fix that. So I need to either hire somebody or do it myself because it's still not finished. You have to spray on that look so that it's a textured finish. I bought the spray while they were still here. I thought that maybe they would do it, but they didn't.

There were some features that we wanted on a tub and we called companies but others didn't have those features and American Standard did. The sales rep was friendly and was in sync and the installation didn't take as long as I thought it would. They came out one day and came back a second day to work on the floor tile around. It was done very quietly and efficiently and I love it. With the walk-in bath, I can now sit and soak and the water is so nice and hot. But my biggest complaint is that it takes so long to fill up and you're freezing while it's filling up.

The sales rep wasn't even in the door for two minutes and he asked what size water heater we had. I told him and he said that would never work. I thanked him for being honest. Most salespeople would not be. I still listened to the whole thing that he said. Then he came back later in the day and I decided to get American Standard. We just put in a new water heater the week before. He gave me $2,000 off. When I first used the tub, I was a little nervous, and then I couldn't get the water regulated right. Because if you put it on too hot, it will get cold in there. Otherwise, it was great. Also, I leave my bathroom door open. Otherwise, I can't stand the steam. It's like a sauna.

American Standard answered my inquiry promptly so I decided to work with them and the sales rep who came out was very helpful and nice. We had two different installs for two different bathrooms and each time, two people came out and it took two days. The work is very good quality. I usually use it as a shower and it fills up the footwell by the time I'm done showering and then I do the bubbles or the jets on my legs.

American Standard managed to match a price from Kohler. And I liked the seat that American Standard had as opposed to the seat that was offered by Kohler. Otherwise, for the most part of it, I thought the products were similar. If it’s not been for the seat, I probably would have gone with Kohler. But the Kohler sales rep was good. He explained everything well and went through products halfway decent. The installers also did a good job. They were conscientious. They cleaned up after themselves well.
I had a question at the very time that we signed it. There was concern that pressure may have been too low for the rain showerhead and handheld. But they weren't able to answer. But there are different showerheads that are available, and equipment, through American Standard when I went back through the online search for stuff. It's possible to have gotten something that had a higher flow rate than the one that we have. This is 1.4 gallons per minute and there's a 2.4. Would've been nice, possibly, if something would have been a higher flow rate. That may have worked better.

I like American Standard's features, especially the quick drain, and their history. We have an American Standard toilet and it's been terrific. The sales rep came to our home and he was right on time. He was very professional. He answered all of our questions and went over everything with me and my husband. The installers were very, very good. Josh and Marco were both very nice. They did everything very quickly. My husband is a contractor, so he's kind of fussy. But it satisfied him 100%. He really liked the quality of the work that they did.
The tub is a great quality product. I like the curtain that goes by. It keeps you nice and warm while you're in there and it keeps you warm even after it's drained out and you're drying off before you open it. It is nice and private. The seat is very comfortable. It's easy to get in and out of and that's what I wanted. The price was a little steep but we knew it was going to be expensive. But when you think that it's a lifetime guarantee, then you're really getting a good quality product. The guarantee will even transfer if you sell your house. So it works out real well.
There was a gasket that popped out of the channel, which was not a big deal. I knew they could fix it very easily. We called American Standard and then I asked for customer service. My husband spoke to the gentleman and he was not very nice at all. So I called the installers and they said they'd handle it, which they did. We got a claim in and they came right out. They popped it back in the channel and it's fine. But I was real disappointed with the man in the customer service. So I called back, tried to call to the supervisor, and asked to speak to them. They said they would have him call me but he never called back. No one ever called me back. But the installers were terrific. They didn't bump or scratch anything. They wore little booties while they were in there. I would highly recommend them.

The rep did a PowerPoint presentation off his laptop. He was very friendly and informative and seemed like he really cared about what our needs were. Then two guys came for the installation. From walking in the door to walking out of the door, it took them five and a half hours. My husband has cancer and he has pain in his back hip and leg. So he has difficulty getting in the shower because it's cold and slippery. But with the walk-in bathtub, he can get in and out by himself. It heats up the room really well so he doesn't get cold. He was in it last night for about two hours. He likes that the temperature stays hot and there's the nice seat and jets. I love the lights and the aromatherapy.

The sales rep had some samples and pictures with him, and it sounded like what I'd like. I got a walk-in shower. The installers were very knowledgeable and answered questions. They went at it pretty fast. The drain was an old style and the installer had to cut it down lower. He said he only saw these very seldom. So it took them a little bit longer. He said he'd have to come back the next day and finish it. So they did. I liked the doors. I don't like water coming in my face so I had the handheld shower a little bit lower and I still have the upper one too. It has shelves and plenty of grab bars. But I was disappointed in the shower floor. I thought it would be a rougher texture. He had strips and we put them on it. With the strips, it's fine.

American Standard offered a guaranteed fit and their own people doing the work, which impressed us. The sales rep set up an appointment time, and then he came here and talked to me and my wife. He showed us everything and gave us a price right upfront. The installers came in at 8 in the morning and by 3:30, they were out the door. They ripped everything out right to the walls and floor and re-did all the piping. They did an excellent job. I would recommend them to anybody.

It was wonderful with the rep. He gave me the history of American Standard. I knew some of it but he filled in some things I didn't know. He wanted to make sure that what I wanted was a walk-in tub. He wanted to see what my setup was, where I was gonna install the tub, and what I was using. I was using the tub in another bathroom with a shower chair. He wanted to see that too. He gave me information about the tub and what's it made out of. Then he went and looked at my situation for measuring. He showed me that the walk-in tub was 17 inches from the floor to the seat. He showed me with my dining room chair was the same, 17 inches from the floor. I found that very useful so that I knew it wasn't gonna be either too high or too low for me to sit down to get in it.
He told me about the features and asked me if I had any health issues or pains. I told him I have pains in the knees occasionally. He pointed out there was a place to massage your wrist and a place to massage your legs and knees. He also told me about the aromatherapy. I had a bunch of questions, so I was asking him questions.
They had me scheduled for the installation. A job took too long so they had to reschedule me twice. But they compensated me by giving me $500 off. The installers wanted to make sure I really wanted the tub. Once they got it out of the van, they wanted me to come outside and sit in it. After I did that, they asked me if I still wanted it. They thought they wouldn't have to take my door casings off, but they had to take one side of my door casings off going into the bedroom and into the bathroom. But they put them back nicely. If I hadn't seen them ripped off, I probably wouldn't even notice that they were ripped off. As a gift, they installed an American Standard toilet with a nice bidet. The tub is very expensive but the construction of it is top-notch and everyone was very pleasant.

The team walked around, looked at the job to be done then wrote up what it was gonna take to do what needed to be done. They had to reschedule due to medical reasons but once they got there, it was good. They were able to answer all the questions. They had a lot of extra stuff they had to do more than normal but it was done on a good schedule.

The American Standard tub costs an arm and a leg but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I got a tub with a lifetime warranty. It was a difficult installation and I'm glad I booked that team to do it because if I had had to bring in my own electrician, carpenter, and plumber, it would have been a disaster. I live in a ranch-style house that was finished in 1959. We had to take a window out and replace it to get the tub into the bathroom. It turned out that the guy who put the window in was very old school and thorough. He set it in place in concrete. It had to be chiseled out and replaced, not with concrete. But it was quite a project and they did a beautiful job. The tub does exactly what the salesman said it would do.

The sales visit was amazing. After having the sales rep from American Standard come out, I cancelled my other appointment. He said it was gonna take about 90 minutes. He was here for three hours. I was very impressed with American Standard. I always said Kohler would have been the way to go because my dad always praised Kohler products too. But when I found out the comparison between Kohler and American Standard Walk-in Tubs, nope. No Kohler. For the installation, I had to have two plumbers, two electricians and a remodeler. They took care of everything. They asked me a few questions when they were trying to figure out where to locate the electrical. They cleaned up everything when they were done. They were amazing. I have one dog that's afraid of everybody, so she would bark her head off. It didn't bother them in the least.
Last night was the first time I was able to get in the tub and I loved it. I didn't wanna get out. There are 15 jets, air jets, lights, and aromatherapy. It is fantastic. I have the outswing door because with my mobility issues, an inswing would not have worked well for me. Now I don't have to be afraid to take a bath anymore. I don't need to rely on my daughter to be in there when I try to get out of the tub.

The tub is a nice-looking equipment and it runs well. However, I've sent out some questions and we couldn't get any help at all. It might have sounded like they were dumb as I reflected on it, but I wanted to ask them questions about some of the pipes on the installation. Nobody got back to me. We had to figure it out ourselves.

The American Standard rep was good about explaining the product, how the product worked and how it was made. The installation was quick though there were a few minor discrepancies. Some of the tiles broke when they were putting the screws in for the grab bars. American Standard got in touch with me twice. I mentioned to them about the tiles and the covers. When you put the grab bars on, there are screws that go into the wall, and the covers for the screws are loose. They're spinning around, which I thought they were supposed to be stationary. They said a tech named Marco would come out and check on this. But he hasn't contacted me as of yet. The product is good though. I like being able to get in and relaxing in a hot body of water with tub. But it was a bit more than I wanted to pay for the installation. They installed more items other than the walk-in tub, but I was ignorant about asking about the other products that were available.

I purchased everything in December and even though I signed the contract, I still have not received any products yet. I've reached out to customer service several times. They said that they would put me in touch with the install people. They were supposed to install in the middle of the month in January. Then I got a call from them that said that because they hadn't filed for the permit in a timely fashion, it was gonna be postponed until February. They were supposed to file the permit within four days of the contract but they didn't file it until the 31st of December, which was almost an entire month.
When it got here in February, they brought the wrong merchandise out. They had to reorder and that was supposed to take 10 days. It's already been almost 20 days. I had to call them to find out what the install date is but they still haven't got back to me yet. I'm about a hair's breadth away from canceling the order and telling them to go fly a kite. Right now, I'm not very happy with American Standard. Also, when the salesman was dealing with me, he seemed pleasant enough but he was very rude to my wife.

ConsumerAffairs was helpful. We started with their research then further did it on our own. We like the outward swinging door and the width of the seat of the American Standard tub. The salesman knew the product and answered all the questions. If he didn't have the answer, he got it for me. The installers did quality work but did a lot of chitchat. They could have done the job hours ahead of when they got done.

American Standard has the best product. The tub was installed yesterday and the installation was professional. I haven't got to use it yet ‘cause after they put it in, they said I had to wait 48 hours to let everything set properly to get in it. But I'm gonna like it ‘cause it's gonna have a lot of room inside for me. I'm going to enjoy all the different jets that it has on it.

Everything went as we had planned. There were no surprises. The installation team was excellent. They came right on time, were very detailed in everything they did and respectful in the house as far as covering everything and doing what they had to do. They had trouble with removing the door frames. They wanted to make sure they got them straight back in place like they needed to. That took a little bit longer for them but everything else was fine. They spent time with us showing us how to use the tub and explaining everything in detail. They were early and left at 2 o'clock. Everything was spick and span.
The tub has an excellent quality. It's exactly what I expected it to be, how everything works, and how solid everything is on it. It's very sturdy, sound and secure. It's also very easy to keep clean. My husband loves the jets and the light and air bubble. It's worked out great for him. We have it where the door opens out so he doesn't even have to step into it. He can just sit down and put his legs in. It's very safe for him. I don't worry about him hurting himself. We also have American Standard toilets and sinks in our house, and I'm happy with those as well.

The sales rep went over all our options. He made me and my grandmother very comfortable and answered all our questions. The installation was perfect. It was a one-day affair. They did everything they needed to do and left everything clean. Now, my grandmother is a lot more comfortable taking a shower. She feels a lot more secure in the bathtub.

I wanted to find a place where they had a showroom with those tubs in them. But here in Arkansas, unless you went to Little Rock, there isn't anything around here close where we live. But the sales rep that came out from American Standard was very thorough about explaining what the walk-in tub would do. The installation went well but my wife would like the seat a little higher. Her biggest problem is getting up out of the tub when she sits down.
The installer installed a metal grab bar the way I showed him, but what I should have done was have my wife in there to see what looked more comfortable to her. Right now, we've got it on about a 45-degree angle, and when you get ahold of it, it’s still wet and can't get to firm a grip on it. It has the little white one that is attached to the tub itself. Even that one is a little bit hard for her to get up out of. She almost needs both hands to help her get up. I don't know if American Standard could change that metal one to make it straight where she could get one hand behind the other easier then pull herself up.
There's not an awful lot of room in it to get in and shut the door. But that is an advantage up to a point, too, because the space that you stand in is almost virtually impossible to fall in. When that bottom of the tub gets wet, it is slippery in there still. I don't know what to do about that unless I can find a rubber mat that you can glue down to stay in its place. But even at that, I don't know whether that would take the possibility of slipping in it. It's more difficult for my wife than it is for me. But these are some of the things that we're going to have to get used to. We'll both be using it more to sit and soak in and run the jets after I get a hot water tank that is large enough. I haven't been able to soak in it yet like I want to because I only have a 40-gallon hot water tank, and it takes about 40 gallons of hot water. I am working on getting a larger hot water tank.

I was gonna get the American Standard tub. That was something that I was in need of. I was having some back surgery and wasn't quite sure how it was gonna leave me. Then I had some doubts about the representative that came to the house. This guy was at my house for hours and hours. When he got ready to go, he said something about he had someone waiting in the car. That was unusual. He had scratched a few figures on some of this paperwork. I said, "There's so much on there that you wrote and scratched out and rewrote. Can't you rewrite it on another form?" He didn't have another form. What salesman is walking around with one form? It also puzzles me why those tubs are so expensive. He told me 24,000. I told him, "We can save each other a whole lot of time if you just tell me how much that tub is instead of wasting hours." The sun was up when he came here. The sun was down when he left.
Overnight, I changed my mind 'cause I thought this might be a scam. I messaged my credit union and asked them to stop payment on the check for the deposit. The next day, I checked my account, and the money is gone. I called my credit union and asked why they didn't stop the payment. They said that the check was never presented. The individual that I gave that check to pulled that money electronically.
The paperwork says I have three days to change my mind. This was just a matter of hours, not even into the next day. The thing that really got me was how he went about it. He said he was going to send the paperwork to headquarters. I would think if he was sending paperwork to headquarters, he would send the check with it. But this guy physically reached in my account and took three grand. My credit union told me I had to change my account number because there's nothing stopping them from reaching in later on and charging me more. I wound up having to have my whole account changed and it caused me a lot of problems with all the automatic debits that I had coming out of it. It caused me a lot of despair, trying to make sure everybody got paid. It was ridiculous. I'm almost 70 years old and too old to be played by somebody.

I couldn't make a decision quickly because I ended up having to have surgery. American Standard helped me in that they held my price as well as a timing when I could get it done for about four weeks. They got the installation done quickly. I went in there before it was done, saw the guts of the installation process, and thought it could never look good. I went back when they had it done and it was gorgeous. They did a great job.

It was a very pleasant experience all around. The salesman was very knowledgeable and straightforward. The installers were very thorough and took great pains to make it look nice in there. They also demonstrated how it works. I'm very happy. I like the features of the tub. I consider it to be a high-quality product. I have a neurological problem that causes me to fall a lot. My blood pressure drops when I stand. I did not feel safe in the oversized tub that I had. With this American Standard tub, I feel a lot safer and less likely to fall because of the confined space. There was also a bidet as a bonus for buying the tub.

The sales rep made sure I understood everything and the installers did everything they could to clean up every day after themselves. They ran into a few problems but it wasn't their fault. It was the way that the house was built. I like the tub. It's easier to use. It gives hot water and covers my body. I was just surprised at how expensive they are.

The sales representative with American Standard was informative. He told me what the tub had and the warranty. The installers got the installation done quicker than I thought it would have and everything turned out alright. I just got two little issues they’re gonna have to come back and see about. One of them is the drain in the door, and the other is hot is supposed to be on the left and cold on the right. They had the lines crossed. But the tub seems to be well-built and well-designed. It functions well and the warranty is good. My wife bathes in it and she's able to relax and use the jets.

The sales representative was excellent. He wasn't pushy. The installation team was awesome. I would have them back in my home for anything to put in. But it's been over a week since the tub was installed and I'm still not able to use it. I'm in a wheelchair and my sister is staying with us. We ended up spending a couple of nights in a motel because we needed a bath and a shower. Washing up in the sink when you're in your 70s doesn't do it. They finally got back to me after I threatened to call the corporate office. They'll be here tomorrow. The motor is cracked and the door is cracked in three places.
I'm kinda unhappy. You don't want to spend close to $24,000 and not be able to use it. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have gotten American Standard. The lady in Rockford, Deb, was horrible. She made it sound like I was bothering her time. I called her four different times before she even returned my call. I reached out to the installers, they got ahold of her and she called me. Then a lady named Laura called me from Rochelle and said I would be her contact person now. If I had any problems or questions, to get ahold of her. She was excellent.

My only problem with American Standard is I had some issues I wanted to address, but their customer service is lacking because I have called them about 12 times for this issue. One time, they had a guy scheduled to come out and take care of my concerns, but he called me about 20 minutes before he was supposed to arrive to tell me his van broke down. I was calling to find out when he was gonna come back and they kept telling me they'd pass the message on to the scheduler for my area and that person would call me to set up a time. That person never called me. I finally got a call here the other day telling me they're gonna come out tomorrow at 10 o'clock to take care of my concerns. I feel that after paying $20,000 for this tub, they ought to be a little bit more forthcoming responding to the customer after installation with their concerns. But that's my only problem. I got five bulging disc and arthritis in my back and sitting in the tub with the jets going is advantageous. I get out and my back feels a lot better than when I went in.

I'm trying to contact the guy who sold the American Standard Walk-in Bath to me. I recently found out that the people who installed it, didn't connect a pipe correctly and I had a water leak that they discovered. I had water running out in the back of my house in there on my cabinets in my kitchen. The guy that helped me with this was Rocky. I left him a voicemail on Monday and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. But the tub itself is good. I love it. I don't have any problems with it now, but that was a setback when all of that happened.

In September 2022, I had one of their walk in tubs installed in my home. They completed the installation, gave me instructions, then left. I could not wait to try out the new tub and all of those jets. I am 71 years old, disabled and I was excited to say the least. I filled the tub and enjoyed the jets and bubbles. I was calling my veteran friends to tell them to get one. So after my bath, I drained the tub. I opened the door. Lo and behold, water drained right out on my 6 month old laminate wood flooring. I could not believe my eyes. I mopped it up and called them. They came out within a few days. I was impressed. The technician stated that there was something wrong with some hose or something under the tub and assured me that it won't happen again.
To fast forward, it leaked the same way. I called them out at least another 5-6 times. Then they said they had to modify the weatherstripping on the door. It still leaked. Then the salesman called me and said that there was nothing they could do. Just put a towel down each time. I thought that was kind of strange request, but I did it. Now, I noticed that my new floor is warping and starting to come up and a stain on the baseboard. I sent a certified letter to their corporate office and told them to contact me with a few weeks. It has well been over a month to no avail. Nobody has contacted me at all. After I spend well over $20,000 and now have a warped floor, stained baseboard and very possibly mold. Caution. Caution. Caution.

I saw an ad for American Standard Walk-in Tubs on the internet and then I gave a salesman a call. He came over and explained everything to me about it. I felt really comfortable with him. He had been a paramedic in the service and in residential life, and he knew a lot about handicapped people and suggested all the handicapped ideas I would have in a shower that replaced my bathtub. The installation team was fantastic. They were here early. They removed the tub. They removed the old commode and put in a new one with operation controls. They finished at 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
The end result is very good. It was exactly what I needed. I'm going through a lot of treatment, and I have a handrail I can use and a portable sprayer and overhead sprayer. There are different settings for that. I'm glad I picked American Standard and not a company like Bath Fitter. This American Standard installation is very solid, leakproof, and very easy to control. They've been there forever. The other companies probably were cheaper, but I didn't wanna take a chance.

The American Standard walk-in bath relieves some of the stress and things on your body. When we bought ours, the reps we talked to were informative and gave us an idea of what it costs as well as what it would do. The installation was really good and easy. I wondered if the installers were going to even be able to get through the door but they did. The guys set it up and explained how to use it. They were quite blunt and told us to pay attention so that we would be able to function with it. Afterwards, they didn't leave a mess anywhere and the only thing we have to do was a little touch up on the ceiling from what was up there before that. They're not responsible to replace that or cover the color of it. So we will fix that in the next few weeks and paint over it.

The sales rep at American Standard was very informative. He did his job. He listed all the products and was very thorough. He did all the measuring and made sure that the house was capable of having it electrically and with the water heater and made sure that it was through the doorways. It was a full over-a-work day but the installation team did a good job. They dinged the wall a couple of places that I had to fix but didn't leave any construction mess around.
When I called American Standard to see if they could work with us in any way to do something about what I think is a design flaw, they said that's the way it is. They didn't wanna discuss it any further. They didn't care. It's a walk-in tub, but it can also be used as a shower. When you use it as a shower, the water hits the walls and goes down. This has a 2-inch lip around it where the tub is. The water collects there then falls out of the tub which makes my wall wet and moldy. I have to take the mop board off, dry it out and do some damage control on that.
I'm not happy with it because it doesn't look nice. It's not a brand-new-looking tub. I had to go to the local home improvement store and get some junky-looking splash guard-type things. I'm afraid to put the baseboard back in that little one-foot area there because I'm afraid it's going to get wet and I won't know about it. I leave it out so I can see down there if the floor is wet or not.

The installers were very efficient. They did a very creditable job of putting it in and teaching us how to use it. But I wasn't as impressed with the salesperson. He was nice but didn't seem to understand what we were telling him when we told him we had to have underground wiring for the tub. He didn't schedule it so that was a little bit of a snafu at the beginning. But it was resolved when one of the supervisors at American Standard settled it and told them to go ahead and put it in. I love my American Standard tub. It's a very expensive product but it works.

The sales rep that I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable. The installers were professional too. The walk-in bath is narrower than what I thought it was gonna be. It could have been a little bit wider, but that's not the case though. Overall, I had a good experience, except for the handheld shower. It leaks and you got to tighten it up.

The rep who came out was very thorough and explained everything to me. I couldn't ask for a nicer person to work with. Also, the team did the installation so fast, I didn't even know they were here. They came in, introduced themselves and committed to tearing my old tub out and putting a new one in. It didn't take them but one day. The only thing was there were a couple of little spots that needed some paint but they told me from the beginning that they didn't paint and there might be a few places I had to paint on my own. They were upfront about that from the beginning. I've been in the tub a couple of times and I love it. I turn on the jets and it's soothing and helps relax my muscles. It has impacted my life for the better. Also, it fills up pretty fast. I don't have a lot of water pressure because I live in the country and I own my own well but it fills up fairly quickly and drains super fast.

It seemed a little pricey after it was all said and done. I wish I would have listened to myself a little bit more instead of taking the rep's stuff back. Because one of the things about the door is that it bangs on my counter, which he said wouldn't be an issue. But really, it is. I wish I turned the tub around like I wanted to do, to begin with. But he talked me out of it. So those kind of things bother me. But other than that, it was pretty good. The installers did a really good job. I wish the tub was a little longer. I'm 6'4. So it's sort of hard to get into. But I like it.

The sales rep of American Standard played a video of everything, then explained everything to me. After that, I said, "Do you finance them?" He said, "Yeah." When he said that, that did the trick. Three people came to install. They showed how it would be sitting in there, then they started installing. Everything was fine. At first, I had a problem though with the drainage. The screw kept dropping out of the plug. But everything else worked fine. I love the jets. They work perfectly. The bars are great, too. I use them all the time. For the heat, they said I had to get a bigger heater because the heat wasn't staying hot.

So far, my wife has been very happy with the American Standard walk-in tub because she can go in and open up the door. They put railings in though we already have railing sin all the bathrooms. So she can get in and out by grabbing them because she's not very steady on her feet. The installers used the existing railings and put a railing on the inside so she can just grab one, grab the other, walk in, and grab the bottom railing, which goes all around the length of the shower, so she can stand there. She can stand up and use the regular shower.
She has two choices, the shower that's on the wall like you would a conventional shower, or she can turn to her right and grab a shower and use that. And if she wants to, she can pull the seat down and have a seat, which is nice and comfortable. It's a little cold and when she first got it, I heard a scream in the bathroom. So, I told her that next time, when she turns on the water on, just let the hot water hit the seat and let it warm it up. But that was about the only complaint she had at the onset.
The only other problem that I had personally was that the shower was on the other side of the wall as our fireplace. There's a vent that goes from the fireplace underneath the house to the exterior and they had to remove it and put a hole in the floor in order for it to go out. But they didn't finish that job. So, any kind of rodents could go into the tube and into the fireplace, and that wasn't very good. I had to have a contractor go up and do that particular portion of the job, which was to put a vent on the side of the house from underneath the house. Other than that, I'm very pleased at how they did the work. It's very professional, outside of not doing the vent portion of it because they were either too lazy or that wasn't part of their contract. It looks like the house was built with the walk-in, all the way down to the molding on the floor and the plexiglass doors. I can't see anything wrong.

The salesman from American Standard was perfect. He had a good sales pitch plus he showed me a video of how the installation would go and what would be installed. The installer did a good job, too. It took him about a week and everything he was doing and what he would do next, he was explaining it to me. I'm satisfied with the quality of work and I enjoy my bathtub. But at the moment, the tub is leaking and I called American Standard twice but I hadn't heard from them yet about them coming out here to see about it.
Other than that, I got two shower heads in my walk-in, one where you stand up under to take a shower and the other one is for the seat. You can switch from one to the other and I've never seen one like that. The seat is mounted on the wall and I got the sliding doors. I didn't want the curtain because the shower door was easier to clean. And the floors are slip-proof. Everything is nice and it doesn't take any time at all for the tub to drain. I also don't have to worry about it filling up. I got the walk-in shower. This product has impacted my life tremendously and I told my cousin in Florida that I got it. She said she was thinking about getting one and now that I explained to her how beautiful it is, she said she was going to go ahead and get it.

American Standard has the best product for the best price. The rep I worked with was very nice. The man who installed it was fabulous and very professional. My favorite part is being able to walk in and out of the tub, which I haven't been able to do for 20 years. The other two companies that came here, their tubs have seat warmers and American Standard does not. I didn't think it was a big deal, but it takes too long to fill up and I'm very cold. That's my least favorite. It was also like buying a car. It was $19,000. But it drains very quickly.

The salesperson was favorable and professional. He laid out the whole scenario and did a good job. We only had one minor thing that wasn't fully laid out, which was the wall coverings but that was settled. Peter and his son were the contractors and they were very pleasant. They looked at the situation and then presented us with how they were gonna proceed. They had to do some demolition first and prep the area and then, they came back the next day and installed the whole system. They came back on the third day to follow up and finish up. They were very helpful with every question we had. They dealt with our problem on the walls effectively. The work was done very well and the attention to detail was evident. They did a great job in cleaning up after the whole process. It has been a perfect experience now that the tub has been installed and we're using it. The operation has been 100% correct. It's a great product and we're very pleased with it.
We have a Liberation unit and it has all the features that you could have such as the handrails and the shower slide. The look and the finished product were top-notch. This was done in my wife's bathroom. She's 76 and has Parkinson's. She has difficulty getting around and we were looking for something that offered a much safer environment, and the American Standard walk-in tub provided all of that. She has used it several times and she's very comfortable using it and getting in and out.

American Standard's rep explained everything about the walk-in tub and measured everything to be sure it would fit because it's on the second floor of my house. And it was a bit of a chore to get it up the steps, but they got it there. Had a couple of good guys that brought it. The first guy got here at 8:00 in the morning. The second guy had to pick up the material and got here at 10:00. They worked all day and, 8:00 at night, it was all done. I like the aeration that the tub does. It's very soothing. I'm glad to be able to sit down and take a bath, and get back up. I feel safe. It's pricey, but quality always costs money. And if this tub would last as long as the last one, American Standard would talk to my daughter the next time they called.

Some of the walk-in tub companies wouldn't install in a second-floor condo. But not American Standard. Their salesperson was really knowledgeable and thorough. We were really excited about ordering from them. But when they had trouble getting the permits, nobody was really paying attention to that. There was an expediter involved but I had to keep calling and finding out where the permits were. They would tell me to call the county and the county would tell me to call this company. So the tub was installed a month later than it was supposed to be.
But once the contractor came in, they explained everything. They showed us the tub, its electrical requirements, and, did a great job installing. They made it really look nice. The installation took a week since they had to remove a lot of existing old infrastructure in the bathroom which took five days. But their work quality is great and our tub is really pretty. It's a great product and I like the jets. I would recommend it.

Installers did good job but after installation you have to wait 24 hours to use tub. Well after in bath for 15 minutes first time it started leaking out door on bottom a lot. It ruined ceiling tiles in basement and made a mess. Well I tried calling customer service, they made a work order up but couldn't tell me anything else. It took 3 days to get somebody to try and explain what happened. The customer service was bad. after spending so much money and no one will say if they will pay for damage to basement ceiling

I liked what I heard from American Standard, so I ended up talking with the salesman and purchased a policy. Their customer service was very good and the salesman was super. They gave me a fair price, too. The installation was the best installation I've ever had for anything. Those people came prepared and they were in and out of here in a half a day. I love our walk-in tub. It's so enjoyable. I'm 83 years old and I'm afraid of falling by getting in the shower and so forth or another tub.

He said we had plenty of water heater but we did not and we had to get a new water heater. But the guys installing the walk-in tub did a great job. I really like it and I'd tell others it's worth it.

I had a good experience with American Standard from the beginning to the end. I was very pleased. They did the work in a very timely and professional manner. They respected my home and me. I'm having an issue but I'm not worried about it. Because any questions or anything I've had, they have made it a priority to take care of it right away. I worked with a gentleman named Grady and he said, "We wanna do it right the first time so that we don't have to come back." They have truly stood by that model. I am in love with my tub. I tell everybody about how I'm glad I had it done when I did, because I had a shoulder replaced. By me doing it when I did, I can get in the tub and soak myself in my shoulder now. I drive a city bus for a living and this tub has taken so much stress off of me. It's like going to a hotel and a spa.

I was impressed with what American Standard Walk-in Baths' salesman had to say and his description of everything. He was here for a good hour and a half. He was very thorough. I asked a lot of questions. Initially, I just talked about a regular tub and got talking about the walk-in kind. It sounded like what I needed for my arthritis. The thought of soaking in a tub was wonderful sounding.
The installation ended up being later than I expected. I did a down payment in September, but it wasn't until later in the fall due to scheduling issues. But the installers were efficient. They laid down protective mats over my floors and out to the front door in the garage. And they tried to keep noise to a minimum while they tore out the old tub and installed the new one. The only thing that I ended up finding out afterward is there was a bit of a gouge in one of my hardwood floors that went through the protective cloth that they had down. Other than that, I had a lot of friends and neighbors come over and look at my walk-in bath, and they've been impressed.

Their reps were helpful and top-notch. The installers were very nice. They got there at 8 o'clock and they worked through until they finished it that day. They've done a good job and we're very happy with the product. I like that it has a seat in it and a handheld wand. I use it a lot.

It was fantastic with the salesman at American Standard. I was able to work with him. I am 73 and he came down to my level which I appreciate. He did such a wonderful job that was why I ended up buying from him. They told me one to two days for the installation. They got here 10 o'clock and five hours later, they were done. They worked extremely hard. They didn't even take a lunch break. They did such a beautiful job on installing and explaining. On one part of the floor, I was freaking out because I had a space of 3 inches of bare floor. They said they would take care of it. They put a plastic surround thing down there. The clean-up was fantastic. The tub is beautiful. American Standard is an honest company. I feel I was treated fairly as an elder and would highly recommend them.

I'm very happy with my experience with American Standard. The only thing is I need to have my hot water heater check because it seems to take a while to get filled up with really warm water. I really wanted the tub because that does help. My favorite feature is the safety. The guys that installed came from Massachusetts to Maine. It took them four and a half hours. They left at 4:30 in the morning from Massachusetts. They didn't leave my house until 7:30 at night. They got very concerned because I recently had my septic part redone and when they were flushing it out, the water came up around my septic cover. I said, "I'm aware of it." They're in the process of fixing it. So, I got that fixed but I was very happy with their concern. They never took a break. They never ate lunch. They were very helpful. They showed me how to work the tub. They were awesome.

We bought my mother's walk-in shower from American Standard. I always wanted a walk-in tub because she had one before from somebody else. She wanted a walk-in shower. Unfortunately, she didn't get to enjoy it, but it was pretty and American Standard was really nice. They called us when they were gonna come out and to tell us how much it was and anything that they had that was a change or when it was going to come out. It came in earlier than they thought. So, they had to call and let me know when they were coming back out. They cleaned everything up really nicely and they took out the tub and everything. I didn't have any problem.
I was hoping it would go fast to get in it, but I had to wait a day for it to cure. They left the original wall and they fixed it because there was a shower unit. They put a hole up there because they thought I wanted it but I didn't. I just wanted the handheld one. So, they plugged up the hole with something and you can't even tell. It's a little round silver thing, and it looks like it belongs there. They had to take off the door because it wouldn't fit in. That was one thing that pissed me off about the guy that came out. He took measurements and everything of the tub area and he didn't include how wide the door was. So, the installers had to take it off and some of the moldings but they put it back and you can't even tell. It was nice.
The installation guys were nice. They put the pad down so they wouldn't track any of the dirt in. It went smoothly. As far as the presentation, I called them and told them that I was looking for that. So, they came out and the lady kept talking to me. The guy came and took the measurements, and he left me a pamphlet and said if I wanted to change my mind, I could call.
I already knew I wanted the tub. My favorite feature are the jets. The only part I don't like about it is I have to get a wall heater because it's cold in there. So, you have to sit in the cold for a little while, while the water fills. After that, it's really nice. The walk-in tub came with the grab bars and the inside grab bar. I didn't get any extra ones. He left me with some safety strips for the inside of the tub because it gets slippery in there.

American Standard Walk-in Baths has been in business for a long time, and so I got someone to come out and do a demonstration. From what they said, how it's built and the parts, they were superior to others. During the installation, I didn't even know the installers were here. They put a tarp down so they wouldn't track anything into the house. When they got done, the head installer told me he had some bad news. I knew they had been running water for some time, but it was leaky. So, he said that they would have to order me a new tub. I told them that was fine. I spent a bit of money getting it. So, I wanted to make sure it was right. He was afraid I would be upset about it, but I wasn't. Things happen like this every day.
I just told him to get with me whenever the tub came in. Sure enough, he did. He called me on a Sunday and said, "I've got the tub. Can I come put it in today?" I said yes. Normally, this is an off day for people that work all the time, but they came and put it in and swapped it out completely within two hours. It wasn't a bad experience for me. As far as the new walk-in tub, it helps me so much with the water and the air jet. It's improving my quality of life. That was what I was looking for when I first started looking at this. I thought with the jets and the swirling, it would be like getting in a Jacuzzi if you're sore from working out, and it's done that. I'm so glad I was able to do it.

Updated on 5/7/2024: I'm having to correct some of the mistakes they made. They forgot to find out that they needed a permit to put the tub in in a modular home, so I had to do all of that just recently. I'm refinancing my house and I had to get this inspected before my loan went through. They put the water pipes where they're gonna freeze because it's a crawl space, so I have to insulate those and when they took the plumbing through, they left holes in the floor but they didn't seal those up and I gotta put some barrier tarp there.
Original review: American Standard does great work. The people are very helpful. The tub was installed right when they said it would be. They were in and out so quickly and didn't even know they were there. They told us how the tub worked. It's an excellent product. I like the massage therapy.

The installers did a good job but they really didn't seem to have their act together. We always understood this would be a one day thing and it took them three trips to get the tub put in and everything done. Then when they left, they didn't clean up well. They left the old toilet sitting outside. There were some things I wasn't pleased with but nothing that would keep me from doing business with them again.
The tub is a good product and everything's working like it should. It's been very helpful for my parents. Also, it has some beautiful flashing lights and a secure lock in it where when they get in, they can lock the door and it won't open on them. It's a lot easier for them to get in and out of. They enjoy the water jets, the air jets, and the aromatherapy thing that's hooked to it and it doesn't take it very long to drain. It's got a powered drain. When you tell it to drain, it washes the water out. But it was 22 grand and I thought that was a little bit much.

I worked in factories for 50 years, and a lot of our fixtures are American Standard, and they always seem to be about the best. It didn't matter if they were toilets or faucets or what they were. We see these advertisements for Safe Step, and we were thinking about getting something like that. I didn't really care for the way that the door was on those. Then Kohler had an advertisement. Safe Step, I didn't know who they were. Kohler, I was familiar with. Then American Standard had an advertisement on TV. I like the features and everything it had, plus the warranty and the lifetime stuff. I told my wife, “Well, if we're gonna get one of these, that's the one that I wanna get.”
We liked our sales guy, but we ended up not being able to put this thing where we wanted to. Some of the stuff that he thought that we could do, we couldn't because of the way the house is made. What we had was one of these garden tubs that we wanted to get rid of because neither one of us can get in or out of it. Plus it's 150 gallons to fill it. We wanted to put this thing in there, and it's not a corner kind of a thing. They sit in there in an odd way. So the one thing that we weren't real sure about was how the drain line would be, and if we could just jackhammer the floor up and do some stuff. There's some stuff I don't understand about the way the slabs are done in this house with cables and that they would prevent us from doing that.

I bought a walk-in tub, and it has a shower wand on it. The installers were a bunch of good guys. There were four of them and they did good work. The install took about two days and a bit of the third day. They tested the tub, then they showed us how to use the different features on it. My wife uses the tub and she likes the jets and the fact that it keeps the water hot. I've also used it a couple of different times, and I like the jets on it as well. The walk-in tub is expensive, and I didn't think it would be that much. Besides that, the quality is really good, and I'd tell people, "Hey, if you want one, get one. That's a good one."

American Standard has the best warranty. The salesman was informative but like most salesmen, he was trying to sell his product. But the guy that did the installation had a lot of experience not only with installing these tubs, but also he's been a contractor. He's good at any kind of remodeling or home construction. The first day, he had to have a helper to carry the tub in. He worked alone after that. It was four days that he was here. But part of the time, he wasn't there all day. He had some prior engagements that he had to take care of. But everything he did was first rate.
Our tub has the different colored lights and the aromatherapy. It has the option of using just the air and the jets in the bottom and not having the top on. My wife can't have water up her belly button so she just uses the bottom portion of the tub up to her knees and her legs. The drain time is excellent but the fill up time is horrible. It takes 40 minutes to fill the tub if you use both the upper and the lower part. Had they used a three-quarter inch supply lines instead of half inch ones to the tub, it would have cut the filling time in less than half. Also I was hoping for a little bit of relief in the shoulders, but the water doesn't come up high enough in the top to do anything for my shoulders. Other than those, it's a good product.

I liked what American Standard said, so I online asked for more information and I had a salesman come show me. I liked it. I didn't like the cost, but it had every feature that I wanted and a good guarantee. The rep was very professional. He knew what he was talking about. He had plenty of experience. I would like to consider him a friend. Also, the installers worked hard and did a good job. It took them a day. The tub came the night before, and they came by and checked to make sure I could get in the tub and it fit my body. They came eight o'clock the next morning and worked on it until mid-afternoon, and they had it all done.
They had a lot of experience with it and other tubs. I asked them lots of questions about the comparison, and I got good answers. I would recommend them highly. They came out of Las Vegas. The contractor had three helpers, and they needed it to get it through the doorway. They needed three strong people working on it to get it through that. They had to take the frame off the doorway to the bathroom so they could get it in, and they worked on it and got it in there without having to tear out any walls. And they got it back together looking perfect.
I've liked all thefeatures I've used. With the pacemaker, I just got out of the hospital and they didn't want me soaking or having jets going. So, I just fill the tub partly up and use the sprayer on me. And I love the shower. The way that works is perfect. It has the right kind of hose, which isn't stiff, and I could manage it well. I could get a good bath. I'm more comfortable, and I'm not cold in the bathroom. I can be warm. I get the water where I need it, and I like it very well. I even like the toilet.

The saleswoman from American Standard came and talked to me for quite a while. She showed me my options, the cost, and what I could expect. It was very thorough. The installation was pretty amazing because the installers ran into much more problems than they expected. My townhouse was built in the mid-80s and the people I bought it from, apparently, didn't do much upkeep. There was a leak that had started that had the installers not come when they did probably would have turned into a big problem because it was underneath the tub. After they left, you didn't even know that they were there. They were very good and the installation took four days instead of two. But they worked diligently all day and every day they cleaned up everything like you didn't know they were there every single day. So, I had no complaints.
We got the walk-in with the shower which comes with the handles and the installers also walked us through how to use it. I like to bathe with the jets and the lights, with the lights off in the bathroom with the lights on in the tub. I also enjoy being able to walk in without worrying about tripping over the edge of the giant tub that was there before. This is obviously very high because it has some jets, but the door just opens and it's easy to open and close. It was very much worth it and they have finance options, so it's not like the cost is unreachable. I've told a few people about it and I've showed my friends when they come over. It's got a good warranty, too.

My experience with American Standard was great. The sales rep explained everything with his samples and showed us how everything worked and how long it would take. The two servicemen came in and assessed the house. They put down the carpet savers to keep from getting anything on the carpet and whatever got on the carpet, they vacuumed at the end. They made sure they didn't leave a mess. They made my entryway better looking than when I had it because their vacuum cleaner worked. We went out and bought one just like theirs since it did such a good job. It took them three days, but that was because we had two bathrooms done instead of just one. We had one done and a shower and the walk-in tub, and they had to reinforce the floor for the walk-in tub. It works great. I use that because I had a stroke and my husband uses the shower.
The two people came at the time they said they were gonna come and left right at the right time so that I had plenty of time to cook dinner. Everything looked nice and the shower bathroom was beautiful. The water fills up fast in the walk-in tub and it also drains fast. I don't have to be sitting in cold water. It stays the temperature that I have it. My house is an old one so the servicemen told me it may not drain in 90 seconds. But after a while, it started draining as fast as they said. I love to sit back and relax in the tub. I'm only 5 foot tall, and so I can scoot down in there and it makes me almost like I'm in a sauna.

The sales rep from American Standard was polite and helpful. He explained everything. The installers got here about 9 o'clock in the morning and they said the installation would be about four hours. And it was four hours exactly by the time they finished and cleaned up everything. Their work was good and they didn’t make a big mess. So far, everything works and the walk-in tub does what it's supposed to do. It has the bar on the inside to hold on to and we got a bar on the top near the on and off valve. The tub fills pretty quickly and it drains in two minutes or less. My husband uses the tub more than I do because he has arthritis and I got it for him. It lessens the stiffness in his knees and in his back, so he can move around better when he uses it. He also likes the jets that go fast and gives him a massage.

The rep from American Standard came out and did a presentation and it was thorough and informative. The guy answered all of our questions, did all the measurements and made sure it would fit. We were given a vague timeline for the installation. The reps said within a month but it was installed within two weeks. I was fine with it and I was happy it was installed. The installers were great and clean. They had to rerun the pipes outside and under the house and they did an awesome job. We had grab bars installed on the walk-in tub, so my husband could grab it when he was getting in and out. The tub has a handheld shower so you're gonna be sitting down and still rinse yourself off. It's smaller than our tub in Florida. But the jets are nice and I like relaxing in it.

I got this for my 100 year old mother. She was able to experience this many times prior to her passing November 16th. The installation/installers were courteous and thorough. Now, I'm going to be the one to enjoy it. My mother enjoyed it immensely, a bit pricey and we called it the disco tub.

A long time ago, we had an American Standard Walk-in Tub put in. For my recent purchase, I didn't have a presentation this time. I just called them and had one put in again. The installation was really good. They had done it quickly. The quality of the tub is good as well. I like everything in there, the heating and the jets. However, they're a little expensive. In fact, I have not paid for mine at all. I got a two-year payment plan thing. And mine was around 25,000.

We got the American Standard for my mother-in-law who is 93. The reps on the phone were always great. They were able to answer my questions and gave good feedback on whatever I asked. But when the installers came, I already had the electrical power installed. They said it was too much of a problem to get my rebate back for the electrical part so I paid him for that as well. It was like I paid twice but it was okay. My mother-in-law uses the product and enjoys it. It helps her feel better and walk around better.

I couldn't get in and out of the tub. My wife saw American Standard and that was what her parents had. She called about that and they were the first ones that came out and looked. I knew that I would be able to get into the tub and I can. Three weeks after we bought the product, the installation was done and the installer did a really good job on that. We could have had it the week before but we were out of town. The installer got here about 9 o'clock in the morning and it was about 3 o'clock when he left.
My only complaint about this tub is the shower. I was supposed to have a shower above the tub itself and they didn't put in the shower. We called and they haven't replied back to us. That was two weeks ago. We had talked to the guy who installed the tub and told him, "I paid for a shower. I want it." That aside, the tub works fine and my wife enjoys the jets. I really enjoy the tub too. It's a whole lot easier than it was trying to climb over the other tub. With my old one, it took me 20 minutes to get out of the tub. With this tub now, I can walk in and out with no problem. All in all, American Standard did well like the lady who showed us about the tub before we got it. The person who installed it showed us how to work everything. The walk-in tub was more than what I wanted to pay. It was more than I paid for my first house. But it was worth it to me.

I put in a shower with the bidet and there were some issues with it. It was damaged in transit and American Standard's reps were so good and so sweet. They kept me informed and it wasn't their fault. I love everything about the shower. It’s got a handheld and a nozzle. It's quick and easy to use. I can be in and out of it in no time at all. It's got a seat where I can sit down and shave my legs without fear of falling over. So, it's worth the price.
When the installer put it in, we joked about how expensive it was. I'm a 71-year-old woman who lives by herself and I was fussing about how much it cost. But he said that it's a whole lot cheaper than a hip replacement. He had such a good attitude about it and he knew I'm obviously not broke or I wouldn't be putting it in. Also, out of the two companies that I compared, I liked that American Standard had a choice. They had two levels and what I needed was $5,000 cheaper than the other company. So, it was priced fairly for what they have to do.
Since I had good luck with them the first time, I called them again. And now, I have a shower in one bathroom and a tub in the other. The price was right and the people that I talked to on the phone were awesome. The people that showed up here were awesome, too. The same guy that put in my shower called and set up the appointment. Also, the installation was done a week sooner than they thought they were going to. Somebody canceled and they got my appointment in sooner. We had a good working relationship. He even remembered that I lived in Rusk, I live on the corner, I've got a big nasty orange cat, and that my name is Brenda.
The men who were with him were excellent, too. They had to cut my door out to make it bigger and said that we'd probably have to paint or do something after. And that would be my responsibility. I have a daughter-in-law who sees every flaw and after they put it back together, she could not even tell that they had cut it out. They also cleaned up when they left and I was very happy.
I've told everybody I know that if they need a walk-in bath, they need to call American Standard. I don't use the tub every single day but when I get in it, I love it. I have a granddaughter who comes to my house just to take a bath and my sister comes to visit quite regularly, and she loves it. If she could take it out and take it home, she would. My favorite feature is that it stays warm for a long time and it's well insulated. It fills and drains quickly, too. And it feels awesome when you're in it. American Standard's reps also called later and checked on me. They sent me questionnaires, too.

The American Standard salesman was good. I like his honest opinion. He didn't seem high pressure. He was laying out his products of what it would do and not do. He told me when they would be available to come do it. The installers came right out. They didn't wanna lose the sale. They were out here in a heartbeat. They had it done in a day. They didn't take the whole day. They also didn't leave any mess. It was all cleaned up. They talked us through a demonstration too. When I walked in and they were all finished, I thought, "Wow. That's a big tub. That's taking up the whole bathroom." I like the bubbles and it's comfortable to sit in. My daughter has a compression fracture in her back and it helps her. It works. However, it was pretty expensive to do.

I'm very happy with American Standard and we got no problem with their equipment and policy. But we didn't like their installer. I stood there and told that him that I didn't like the way it was being done. Where the tub connects to my shower, they left a 3.5 inch gap area down. And if something would fall, you couldn't get your hand down in there to pick it up. But he didn't say anything. He just finished up and left.
The next day, I called American Standard and complained about him. I talked to some lady and sent her pictures of the job. I also called the salesman and told him I wasn't happy. He never called us back. We went around and around for a couple of days over this and I sent pictures to American Standard. They said tough luck and they wanted to charge me $700 to send an installer back out to do the job the way I'd like it. I told their rep that I paid out $2,400 for a job.
So, I ended up finishing it. We also went to several different stores trying to find the material to match the border around the tub but we couldn't find one, so we settled for a different shade than white because I had to fill in that hole. I had to buy a sheet of the material in Dallas which cost $80. Then we had to buy the caulking as well as my friend's table saw to cut it, because you're talking about a 40-some inch long strip. You can't cut a 40-inch straight line. Other than that, I love the shower and the tub. Everything turned out beautiful and the work that the installer did was nice. But I don't know why he decided not to fill in that hole.

It was excellent with the sales rep and I was happy with the installation. They were very efficient and personable. They took care of it in one day and there was never a mess. Everything looks perfect. I'm happy with the tub as well. It turned out better than I thought it would 'cause they built around the tub and had to do a fill in. But it's a lot of money for a tub. I would like for it to have been cheaper.

So far, so good. The sales representative pointed out the differences between their product and the others I was looking at. He did a good job of selling it. But it takes too long to fill up the tub. I get in there and just take a shower with it. But I feel a lot more secure in the tub than I did in my shower. I also like the commode that they provided with the bidet on it. It's wonderful. That was the selling point for me.

It was very pleasant with the sales reps at American Standard. They were straightforward and I didn't feel a whole lot of pressure at all. They walked us through a few things in general before the purchase and did the same thing at the end of the installation. They were honest about the water temperature when they filled it. They also gave us a discount because we might have to install a different water heater. They said not to put any water in it for 24 hours to make sure that the seals were set.
We like the tub. It's beautiful. My husband likes soaking his feet and legs. When he gets achy, he wants to go sit in the tub. It's helpful. American Standard has a few more features that I like. Their product impresses me as a quality one so I would recommend them. But when you spend as much money as you do for these tubs, you'd like to have everything. We're missing a part which is a decorative screw that goes on top of the faucet handle. I was told twice that it was gonna be sent but I haven't seen it yet. They installed the tub at the end of September.

The sales rep with American Standard was on time and seemed to know what he was doing. He did a good enough job where he was the only sales rep we talked to. The installation went better than expected. I was expecting a lot of drywall repair and the installer took the time to reuse some of the product from our walls that he had to tear out. He made my patching job a lot easier. Having the seat heated and having a door versus a curtain would be good.

Customer service explained everything to me such as how many jets the walk-in tub had and the luxury of it. I have back and leg trouble. I love my American Standard walk-in tub. I like the jets. They help my feet, legs, and back. I like the ones that come off the back to hit you in the back. So far, so good. You can't beat American Standard. Also, somebody told me there was an incentive. If anybody would like to buy one, you recommend them, and you get so much off for yours.

The rep had answers to all of our questions. He was very thorough in checking the layout of our home, the electrical panel, and what needed to be done. Our door had to be widened into the bathroom. He seemed very knowledgeable about the plumbing and the electrical work that needed to be done. The installers were very professional and efficient. They did it all in a day. One team came in and started disassembling the old tub. Another team started working on the doorway. Another person started with the electrical work. There was one other person that started on the plumbing work. They cleaned up after themselves. So we were very pleased.
We love the tub. I'm confident now that I don't have to monitor my wife or help her into or out of the shower. She's really enjoying the hydro jets and the whirlpool. I'm 6'4" and I quickly outgrew a tub. So I've been showering for 60 years and I didn't think that I would get any use out of the tub. But since we got the tub installed, I only had one shower and everything else has been baths. I've been using the tub also. So that's been a bonus for us.

I like my American Standard walk-in tub a whole lot. They taught me how to fix the lights that were not working over the phone. It was easy.

Late arrival. I am 88 and just had a corneal transplant and they were to tape off everything to keep dust from getting in my eyes. Didn't happen. Dust everywhere! I sleep in the next room and worry about my eye being damaged. Not at all happy about the lack of communication.

The sales rep explained everything to us. He had a nice book that had pictures. He knew what he was doing. Each salesperson has to figure out the person they're selling to and please them. He knew how to approach. During the installation, they got the tub out of the truck, set it out in the driveway and cleaned it up. Then they brought that in a little bit at a time up the stairs. They had to take out the old bathtub first, which was a large Jacuzzi. They cleaned up the area and made sure it was ready for the new one. It was a complicated procedure to get it in and out and get the new stuff in. But this guy that was in charge of the group was good. I was very impressed with his talents and techniques. They went into detail about all the things that I needed to know. They had very good thought of our home and left no trash. They had to take a bathroom door off and put it back on. They did that nicely.
My brand new American Standard walk-in tub is wonderful. We needed something with a large door that opened up easily from the inside out and comfortable to sit on. I found out that it has a heated seat. I wanted to make sure the water stayed warm. It has a heater in it that keeps the water warm. It has the Jacuzzi too. It's simple to use. It empties out real fast so you can get out and not sit there and get cold. It's not just for elderly people, it's for anybody that has trouble getting out of the bathtub or wants to have a Jacuzzi with their tub. It's got a lot of goodies with it. I'm enjoying it. It's a great brand. For everything you get, it's worth it. It was a little more expensive than what we were expecting, but it is the best. You see all the improvements they've made over the years with it.

My new tub has enabled me to safely take a bath again, which I had to quit doing. I'm 92 years old next week. And I had difficulty, being concerned about falling in the normal bathtub I had, which I loved. I went and got this tub from American Standard, and they couldn't have done better. The first bunch of installers that came out were incompetent. American Standard sent a second group out. That was perfect. They were very caring about what my interests were. And when they walked out of here, I was 100% satisfied, and I still am.

I got sick and tired of whacking my shin on the side of the bathtub getting in. I got a walk-in tub from American Standard and their sales rep was nice. He knew what he was talking about and was very personable. He stayed quite a while. The three installers came from Maryland and got here at noon. They came in and looked things over. One of them asked how long they could work and I told him as long as they wanted. The next thing I knew, the house was shaking like mad. The installer was in there beating the crap out of the tub because there was no way they could have gotten it out in one piece. They then had to relocate the drain and I told them to do what they had to do. There were a couple of other things he questioned me if it was all right if they did and I agreed. It was pretty hectic.
They got a little confused with the measurement on the shower curtain rod. It was an inch different in depth. One side was 3.5 inches and the other side went in 4.5 inches. That was no big deal. It was actually better that way because the shower curtain I bought doesn't like to stay in the shower anyway. That helps it. The installers left at eight o'clock that evening. They explained everything to me and showed me this and that. They did a great job.
I love the walk-in tub. It has a nice and soothing showerhead that doesn't blast you to death. The tub has a good safety feature. The floor is slip-resistant. You don't slip and break your neck in it. You got two inches to climb in. There are two grab rails too. There are two shampoo and stuff trays that I use for soap. Go for American Standard.

My experience with American Standard was very good. They are known for making good quality products and they make their own tubs. They were a little bit more price-wise, but it was worth it. The rep did a very good job and explained to me all the benefits of the tub that I chose. The installers were fantastic as well. They cleaned up and they did a really good job. I like the walk-in tub. The only complaint I would have is that the knob that you turn the water on and off, if you don't get it exactly in the middle down, one of the two shower heads will run. But it's no big problem. I know it within a minute or so that they're running, so I just turn them off.

It's been a positive experience with American Standard. The presentation was informative. We had a lot of options. We like the features, the warranty and that it's American-owned. It's pricey but we got a price break on it because we couldn't get the toilet which was part of the package installed. It needed special plumbing and electricity. The install was done on time. My favorite feature is the hot tub experience. We have an issue with that though. We're running out of hot water before the tub is completely full. I've got to get a new water heater because our water heater doesn't provide enough hot water to fill the tub at the temperature I want it to be.
There had been a stand-up shower in there so that plumbing still existed. We put in one of them overhead waterfall type showers. We have a problem with the shower curtain when we're using the shower. They don't make shower curtains that are meant to go inside those tub. I took one and modified it so that it would fit inside. It still doesn't keep water from getting out on the floor. Other than that, the tub itself is great. We enjoy it. Our granddaughter loves it. She's been in the tub with the jets on more than either one us has.

I had an excellent experience with American Standard. I went through getting quotes from several dealers and I liked what they said. It wasn't the cheapest offer I got. But I liked the description they gave about the tub. The people who did the installation were excellent. Did exactly what I asked them to do when I talked to the salesman and they did exactly and did a great job. So far, the quality of the product is excellent. My favorite feature is the whirlpool jets. I've had whirlpool tubs, but it's so much more powerful. I'm very satisfied.

The rep gave me options. I'm very pleased with the American Standard. It's exactly what I wanted. I got the tub combo, but I use the handheld shower mostly sitting down to wash my hair and rinse off. I have some severe arthritis, and it helps. But it's very expensive. It's fine for me but a lot of people cannot afford it.

The American Standard reps were very good. However, it was a very difficult installation. They had to do a lot of extra work. But they did that work. They also had to remove doors and they replaced everything so it looked as good as it did before they had to take things apart to get the tub in. I have just one complaint. I have trouble with my shoulders and I can't get my shoulders in the water. The seat is not deep enough to cover the shoulders with vibes. Otherwise, it's very good. I like everything about it.

The prices of American Standard were cheaper compared to others. They've also done a good job putting our walk-in bath. The installation of our tub was quick. Within five hours, they were through with the job and gone. The seat they put in was good. Everything is nice. I enjoy it.

The installer left the company and we got reassigned to someone else who knew what he was doing. Justin, our installer, did an amazing job. A few people I've talked to have had some bad experiences but we were not subjected to that because he did everything top-notch from start to finish. It was a good experience with American Standard. The information provided wasn't totally accurate, but it all worked out in the end. So, it's okay. We went with the midline and the walls are warm. I like the tile, the clean-up and the look of the walk-in bath. The only downside is that the showerheads have restrictors on them. So, you don't get the water pressure that we're used to. It's hard to get shampoo out of your hair because you don't get enough water pressure.

The installation was good. We had a minor problem, but American Standard got it fixed. We had to have them to put more glue on the trim at the top. The walk-in tub is pricey, but they said it has a lifetime warranty and that is very important. Also, the walk-in tub is easy to access and it looks good. I got compliments on it. Everybody who came to our house said, “Wow!”

I looked up the top three companies and interviewed all three of them. I got the answers I wanted. I went with the American Standard because as a retired Realtor, I was very aware of their nationwide reputation. In the real estate industry that I was a part of for 30 years, American Standard is known to have quality products. I have confidence that they will stand behind their product. There were other tubs out there but I didn't know them. I can't trust that they will stand behind their product.
Initially, I wanted to go with Kohler because their aesthetics were a little bit better. But American Standard had better features I wanted and they exclusively do these kinds of products. The tub was an expensive product and there were cheaper ones in the market. But I didn't want cheap, I wanted good. I knew it was gonna be expensive to deal with. In the end, American Standard's final quote was at least $1,000 less than their competitors.
The rep was very experienced and knowledgeable. He knew his business, the product, and what the price points were. He was very familiar with the competition and he made a good argument. Ultimately, without having to negotiate, he gave me the best price possible. The marketing was top class. The installers were very helpful. It was a family operation and they did the best they could with what they had. We had turned the door around in order to make it possible to do the installation. When you change the molding of a door frame and turn it inside out, it doesn't look right. It can't be done unless you do a proper refinish. The installers did the job they were supposed to do but it was still a little rough and needed some more attention. But I can't fault that to them for that. They showed up on time and were very informative. They were very nice people and were comfortable to work with.
The device itself is very helpful to me and it's attractive on many levels. I use the tub and I enjoy it. It helps me a lot with my neuropathy. But the design is incomplete and there are not enough safety features for my use. There are no physical grab bars on the exterior of this tub, which is a hindrance for me. With my kind of handicap, it's difficult for me to get in and out. Having the grab bars on the top of the tub and at the doors would be much more helpful even though it would affect the aesthetics of the tub. All in all, I'm not disappointed.

The American Standard rep's presentation was a lot better than the other guy’s presentation. He walked through all the different choices that we had in the tub. He went into both bathrooms and told us what he could do in them and gave us a choice of where we wanted to put the tub. The bathroom that it ended up being in is actually next to a window. He told us what he could do with that window so that we could still utilize the tub next to it, which was beneficial. So we put it in place of where the garden tub was. They sealed it with a special sealant. The installers were really great. They were the best I've ever had for anything. They got it done before the timeline.
I have the highest-level tub, so we have two different jet types on my tub. My husband loves that there are two different kinds. I love the colors. It makes me relax. The tub also has a scent thing on it where you drop some little pellet things into it and it smells good. It's like aromatherapy. The tub is excellent and the installation was so fast and great.

The presentation was fairly organized as far as showing me what they could do and the different styles. The guy that came out was really professional and knew what he was talking about. The installers only work on the weekdays but I also work every weekday. So I had to have my dad come stay the day with them. When they were there, they got done early, which was a bonus. They sent me pictures throughout the process, and they asked if I would like their ideas, like if I wanted two or three of those little shelving units for the shower. They cleaned up amazingly well afterwards. They took every single thing that they left out. When they left, it looked like they'd never been there.

I like American Standard. They did a good job for us. American Standard has a lifetime warranty on the tub and I decided to check on it, the guy came out here, and I got it. He was a nice guy. He explained everything to me. My son came over, and he explained everything to him. It seemed like a good thing to do. And it does help. It helps my legs. The installers did a good job. They made a mess, but I knew they would. And they were both nice people.
I like the little spray thing you wash your tub out with. In the shower, I gotta take water and throw it up the wall to clean it off. In the tub, that does good. The only thing against this tub is when I start to stand up, it's squeaky. It slides a bit. I put my wash rag down in the bottom and stand on it after the water runs out. But it's okay. I love it. I hope I can keep it and pay for it the rest of my life.

American Standard Walk-in Baths was available much sooner than Safe Step was. We already knew a lot about the tub because we had a walk-in tub before. But the lady was very nice and answered what questions we still had. They had a bunch of people come out at once. They thought they would have to knock a wall out to get the tub in, but they figured out a way to not have to do that. They got the whole thing done in one day. It went very smoothly. We now have a walk-in tub that works. It removes a lot of worry when it comes to falling. It comes with grab bars, and my dad loves that it's so big. He loves taking a bath in it. It would always be nice if it were cheaper, but it seems to be worth it.

I chose American Standard because they could do it in a day and they were able to stick with that timeline. Also, everybody was really nice. The people who came and put the tub in were excellent. They were clean while they were doing it and everything seemed to go in order.

I've always purchased American Standard toilets. I grew up on American Standard and they've been around a very long time. Then I looked up walk-in bathtubs because I was interested, and American Standard was the first to come to mind. I went to three other companies and looked at theirs, too, and American Standard had all the options that I wanted. The others did not.
Early in the morning the installers got here and unloaded the stuff off a truck. They left it out on the driveway. Then, they went and cut the tiles out. They had that thing placed and used a minimal sealant. It just came out beautiful. They were right on top of everything and they cleaned the daylights out of it. They had to cut some of the door and the door moldings to get the tub in and they replaced them all. They didn't paint but they touched up areas where they could. They knew what they were doing. They had the electrical hooked up. I have a generator and they made sure they linked it to my generator. So if I lose power and I'm stuck in the bathtub, it'll still be working. They went the total 10 yards. They knew what they were doing all along. They were very friendly, super nice guys.
I love my product so much. I've been in the tub. I've had it for month and a half. It's comfortable and I'm enjoying it. Instead of the cheaper model with the fiberglass, I'm glad I went with the acrylic. It runs beautifully. I'd put the aroma on there. I have aroma in my bathroom already. The lights are nice. I like the lights. I love the handles and the stuff that's built onto this tub. They even built a pole so I could have a standup shower if I want. It's kind of a small area to take a shower but if I need to, I have a full bath, but it's a standup shower in my other bathroom. So, I use that. I use this primarily to relax in. I'm gonna clean it up pretty soon. I gotta make sure I use the right product to clean. One of the best features on there is the pump. The water goes down in less than two minutes. I open up the drain tube and I turn the electric pump on. It's done. You're not sitting there freezing your butt off in there.

We called all the national brands. American Standard had better price and better affordability. The sales rep was wonderful. He was very helpful. He was very informative. If we had any concerns, he answered all our questions. The installers were great. They got everything done and they were very clean for what they were having to do. I love the whole thing.

Obviously American Standard is not concerned about your experience with them. As it has been 6 days since we encountered an issue with walk in tub. Still no response from them. Will find someone else. Have reached out to salesperson and also American Standard and so far NOTHING. I'm not usually one to do this but after waiting over a month for a tub and then get one we can't use. NOt GOOD.

The installation of our American Standard was good. It was down a hall and there was a turn in the hall and they had to almost stand on their head to get it into my bathroom. It was very difficult to get it in. It took them four days. I enjoyed the whole experience. It's a fun thing to take a bath.
