Call was short, but Arthur was pleasant to speak with, he saw the issue I had called about, told me he would call me back after he looked into the issue. He did just that, called me back in less than 5 minutes, resolved my issue. He was very helpful and a pleasure to speak with

Technician very professional, happy with the job that was done. Andi was very helpful with great information, I will refer all my friends to American Residential Warranty. I had a very nice and professional gentleman name Arthur from the retention dept. His customer service was great. I wish that every representative you speak to on the phones would be as nice and pleasant as he was. They really need to take pointers from him. I would give Arthur a 5. Arthur was very nice and helpful. He tried to get me to stay but I do not want the warranty anymore. Too much money to actually get things covered. However the rep was polite and nice. No complaints with his customer service.

My first call to your co for help was happened by your Overseas help. I had to call back 2x to get to someone in the states and in corp to get to where I needed to be. Which is the only reason I haven't cancelled my account. Thanks to Dave in Corp, whom I ended up talking to saved this call. I specifically left my prior warrantee co for the reason mentioned above. Dave assured me that my experience would not be the same. Thank you Dave and the Corp office should thank Dave as well for keeping a new customer and giving the level of customer service one expects when spending hard earned money with a company.

I had a service call for central AC here back in 08/2020 and never got the repaired or replaced advertisement. My unit was bought along with the house in November of 2011 was not older than 10 years old & I was told the total check amount was $300 Something. But it has furnace inside so it’s heating and AC central unit and that doesn’t cover replacement when I had $1000 cap for unit and didn’t understand why I never got any resolution or payment but the false advertisements on FIX, REPAIR OR REPLACE!! Claim/ticket #**.
They are suppose to be looking into why I never received check for that but I am also wondering why my claim for plumbing (which Andi from corporate office sent out urgent email) which she was amazing but still nothing and it was sent in paid deductible on 04/01. It is now the 7th and have nothing heard a word to get on schedule for repairs. Claim #** for plumbing.
The company dispatched has told me they have heard nothing on invoice sent in April 1st. I have two residential service platinum premium for both and no claims for two years on either but only one claimed last year. Still not resolved and then now no water and will consider going to another company if this is what we get when we have anything needing to be repaired or replaced!!!

Two claims denied because the technician was hostile towards the customer and made a false claim the appliances were abused then went on to make personal comments about the home owner. I feel betrayed by ARW but I know how to fix the issue. I’ll change to another insurance company.

I had difficulties this morning talking with three different employees there and the fourth person I talked to his name is Kernst but before that they either hung up on me or left me on hold for 15 20 30 minutes which I haven't got paid other words reimbursed or anything. Didn't get no service so my experience early this morning was sort of bad actually. It was until I spoke to Kernst and he put every effort of his experience to work to help me as a customer in customer service which he did. I give him the thumbs up which will make the company better when people do the right thing. But there it is. I didn't get the service that you guys said you would render to your customers the public.

We are new to ARW because the extended warranty on our appliances ran out the end of 2019. Saw all the wonderful happy people on TV or heard on the radio and thought it was a good fit for us. We called about an old dishwasher and a fairly new microwave and were charged $55 each to have someone come out to tell us they did not work--March 08-2021. A service person came out a couple days later on the dishwasher and said that it was not worth repairing--we got a phone call telling us that a couple days later and saying that we would get $150 toward a replacement. We got the check on that yesterday.
The microwave is a different story. Was told it would cost too much to fix so the repairman indicated that it would be replaced. Phone call was to come in 72 hours. We never did get a phone call. I called 4-5 times and was put on hold for 15-20 minutes each time until I got tired of waiting. I do tax work and have better things to do instead of waiting on hold. Finally talked to Marilyn and started getting some help. Still no phone call from the adjudication (claims) dept people. Finally went through the bill paying side and got hold of Arthur who I believe has the problem taken care of. Marilyn and Arthur get a 5 for a rating and the other people I talked with get about 1.
We canceled our insurance. Found out on April 02 that they still did not decide what to do with our microwave claim. What if it had been the freezer or refrigerator? We were lucky enough to have an old microwave that we are now using and planning to get the "warranty" microwave repaired. My guess is that they will give us $150 on a $650 microwave that we had for five years. For us the ARW is a scam for people who don't have a reliable appliance company. If you need further information from us contact us on my wife's e-mail. I will be happy to talk to anyone over the phone as well.

Arthur was very kind and generous. He did try and offer incentive in order to keep me around. Which I appreciate it but decided to cancel anyway due to personal reasons. When my Jenn Air stove quit heating I contacted American Residential Warranty and they arranged for a technician to check it out which he did. He determined that it was not repairable and turned the information in to ARW and told me I would hear something back in 2-3 days. When I didn’t hear from them after 3 days I called and was put on hold for an hour before I gave up on that call. After several calls and promises that someone would call me I was told my claim had been closed. I finally got through to a department who said they would review and get back to me. They said that all they would cover was $190.00 on my stove that was going to cost $4,000.00 to replace. That hardly seems worth the cost of the insurance. I had poor service and very little compensation. I am requesting a refund and will not recommend ARW to anyone. Dissatisfied and very disappointed. Joan **

Worst company ever! Once you sign up, you will never hear from them again. They also will auto-renew your payment when you didn't authorize that from the very beginning. There is no paperwork or anything on my account saying that I ever authorized the payment and now they are telling me I might have to "wait up to 30 days" to get $949.80 back? You must be crazy. Stay away, they just want your money and you will never hear from them again!

Representative June was very helpful, polite, and knowledgeable about the products. She listened well. I was transferred 3 times and had to call back twice. The longer I stayed on the line, the more I grew impatient. When Arthur answered my line, not only was he professional, but he was patient and understanding. It would be nice to have more people like him working in the company.

Marge was very helpful, she was very understanding. She escalated my problem to the right department. While I had tried for 3 weeks with no success, always transfer to the wrong department. On the phone for 4 to 6 hours even having the phone to hung up on me. And having to call back and put on hold for hours. No one should have to go through such a thing. More people are needed like Marge.

I called your customer service number and was told that only one fan was under the warranty I have from your company. I then called to cancel my policy and the guy was of no help either, he said it showed my house was build in 1971 and because of that, my fans were too old to be covered. I explained to him that those fans were replaced within the last 3 to 4 years max. I then called your corporate office and spoke with Andy, She was very helpful and understanding and she said she would email someone to escalate my issue.

Today I spoke with a man named Arthur who understood my request for billing information and presumably directed someone to send that information to me. My interaction with Arthur was clear, purposeful, and I hope ultimately successful. I also conveyed to Arthur my dismay at being bombarded with spam calls from ARW after I sold my house. I have not purchased another home, due to market conditions. If I do, although I will remember a positive interaction with Arthur, I will also remember the harrassment I received from your sales representatives which lasted over three months.

I took the plan with highest coverage and most expensive plan. 125$ per month. When my fridge broke down, they charged 55$ and didn't even touched refrigerator (forget about fixing). Customer care keeps deflecting calls and keep giving excuses. Never seen such a fraud company. Now struggling to get service disconnected.

We made a claim to American Residential and everything went well. Technicians came in and replaced a part. They were clean, professional, and very conscientious about the device. I was gonna get the ice machine on my refrigerator done too but American Residential said it didn't fall under the policy. I wish they could have disclosed that before. Being that I don't have the contract, I can cancel at any time. This was a little disconcerting.

When I had a problem with my standalone freezer, I spoke to American Residential to put a claim in, and they told me I didn’t have coverage for that. It was odd that I would cover every item but one. But then, it turned out good. I pulled the plug out and let it defrost and it was fine. I didn't have to put a claim in then. I was very satisfied.

I called on Saturday morning March 20 at 7:30 AM and Saturday for service on the oil burner. I told her that two years prior when I had American home shield. They replaced it and I wasn’t happy with the part or the service and so I fired them after the third time they came out about that part. It would be be in July 2019 that I joined your organization. This Saturday would be the first time I called for service and then I was told by your customer service department that it would not service it so I said to her give me a number for their headquarters because I’m going to cancel you take my money and you don’t wanna do any work for what you put what you said in the contract you would.
Monday comes and I called to cancel and was given the runaround with four different transfers and finally I got a gentleman who said he would he would deal with this and he would see that I would get some information. So this is what I am doing now. He told me to get it fixed and they would see about reimbursing me for the bill. Will see why do you say and what you do is usually two different things but I’ll wait until Friday, March 25. I believe it is Allen or Brinker.

Ms. ** was professional, courteous and patient. She waited as I checked to verify/confirm the payment had been made as of 3/19/21. She said she would notate the account. As other concerns it seems a great idea if customers were contacted with follow ups concerning claims. Information is provided for repair companies that are no longer in business or answer the phone. The customer then has to again contact you to start over again having lost several days.

At this time unfortunately I chose not to rate this company due to many issues that I have experience with your company. When trying to reach someone first thing I get transferred too many times and having to keep repeating myself and on other occasions get left hanging on the phone or either get hung up on. Nice call, however, your company needs to be PCI compliant and end recordings of calls and not repeat the customer credit card information out loud. What should be done is asked the client to repeat their credit card information when it is not understood.

Trash. They are not here to help you at all. When I explained to them that their contract had nothing specifically stating the pool/spa combo was included in the INTERIOR portion of their limitations of liability, they claimed that it fell under this category because they said so. American Residential is not here to help you, and they only cover “repairs” to small items you might break on your appliances that you can pick up at Home Depot and replace in seconds for yourself.
The only thing this company does is: first; take your $55 to schedule someone to come to your house. Second, take the remaining dollar amount of the visit and apply it to your payout. Finally, give you the remaining left over. If you have a repair needed that cost $1,000 total, expect $100 back. Oh, but don’t worry. They’ll tell you that this applies to every appliance. So you could have 10 appliances fixed during the year and they’ll give you $100 back each time. Meanwhile, you pay $1,000/year. Save yourself the headache and disappointment and keep the $1,000.

When I call to cancel my warranty Ms ** was EXCELLENT and very professional with handle my call. I wish she was the first person I talk to when getting my warranty. She explain everything to me. Spoke very clear. Told me to always read your warranty so you have a clear understanding on what is covered and what's not.

I have been looking for a home warranty and American Residential Warranty is one I am lookin into. They asked me for a $20 deposit, but also charged me for the annual fee before I had confirmed that I wanted the policy. I called them and spoke with Arthur. He was very helpful and professional and helped me to cancel the policy. I may still go with them, I just have a little more homework.

We sold a property and canceled coverage for that address. I had made several calls to accomplish this and my last call with Donna was great. Sit on hold several times, more than 4 hours with AIG when your commercial say if it can't be fixed and you say replace it that is what it means. Had to call local guy to fix furnace ourselves at Christmas time.

Calling in about updating my billing option, Dave was very helpful in getting me the right website. ARW is somewhat dependable but hoping it will get better. I need not have to wait 2 or more day once I have put in a request. Time is of essence on some things that need repair.

Kernst had excellent customer service skills, he explain Company policy and apologized for any inconvenience or misunderstanding and offered me $55.00 voucher toward my next service call and $10.00 toward next monthly premium. I accepted the offer...he was very professional.

Would not cover any part of my central air repair. I want to cancel my policy as of 3/16/21 said would not cover because of coil issue that I had to pay which I understand but your company should have covered outside repairs.

Since December 2020 I have made 28 calls to ARW trying to get resolution to a claim that was filed by the service rep in October. I have called more than 18 different phone numbers. On January 9th I spoke with a man in corporate whose name is Thomas. He was helpful and gave me his extension but when I called back no one had heard of him nor could connect me to the extension. Finally on March 12 I reached Tulio who, in minutes got to the bottom of the issue and took appropriate action. If I had to rate this company prior to March 12th I would have given it a MINUS ZERO stars. The 5 star rating goes to Tulio.
You should send executive staff on an "under cover boss" type experience in your company. You would find that Tulio should be training staff on customer service. Why? He is effective!!! How? He took time to review the notes before making fake promises. He showed empathy and agreed that my customer experience was not as it should have been. He assured me that I finally was in the right department and that he could assure that appropriate action would be taken and that he would follow up to make sure it was taken. He gave me a phone number that actually worked where I could reach him or leave a message. He believed me that Thomas actually existed and had started the process but apparently things didn't get processed after he started the process. Tulio communicated with his colleagues and assured the check would be mailed asap. A woman named Carolyn called me the next day to say the check was mailed.
Today, March 16 I received a check even though it was for the wrong amount. I called Tulio and he called me right back indicating that he was aware of the problem and assured me that it had already been addressed. I have every reason to believe him and to trust that the balance will arrive next week. As you know, your company has lots of competition and the main difference between them and you is customer service. Customers cancel because of how they are treated by the reps. They are lied to by the sales reps (as in bait and switch) and when they have a claim they are passed from person to person. Or the customer is put on hold for more than an hour hoping the customer will hang up. All of these experiences happened to me in dealing with this company. If you are wise, you will try to replicate Tulio in your organization. Please learn from what he is doing and teach it to others.

I've experienced prolonged delays getting my refrigerator and hood range serviced. There was little effort by the insurer to ensure sourcing of parts, timely alerts, information transparency, and minimum downtime. I had spent hundred plus hours of follow-up from my end retelling the history of the claims in question to new representative every time I called since they could not follow it in the system.

Didn't need to use them, but when cancelling it was pretty straightforward. Arthur helped me cancel. I would watch out on the "auto-renewal", it seems they wanted to renew automatically, but they called to confirm because payment didn't go through.

When I looked at what American Residential Warranty had to offer, I talked to a couple of friends of mine who had coverage through some other companies and their coverage was comparable to what my friends were being offered. I went with them and when I first signed up, my experience was really good. Then recently,, I had an interaction with a sales rep which was less than satisfying. I had a situation where one of my payments didn't go through because I had switched my debit card due to some fraud and they weren't aware of it. I told the lady that I did not want to up my policy and she upped it anyway, which kind of torqued me off. And I haven't been able to get up with anybody to remedy that situation. So at the moment, I'm not the happiest camper with them. But I'm going to be taking care of that very shortly.

Buyer Beware! We purchased a home warranty from this company and it was money well wasted! I should have known when we waited on hold to purchase the plan, so long I was able to go online and purchase while we waited. About 15 Min later I got a phone call from a representative and when I said I already purchased online, he hung up on me. In addition to the warranty cost, We paid the $50 service fee for a company to come out and the warranty company to tell us that what needed to be replaced wasn’t included in the warranty. Start to finish that was 4 months and many, many phone calls and holds. We had a second claim, paid the $50 twice (after one of their vendors used our dish scrubber and vacuum to “get a better look”) and then again for the next company to come out.
The warranty company told us that they were going to enforce the clause that they can choose to pay a flat price for the cost of the item if it needed replacing and offered $200 for our subzero refrigerator. This was 6 months start to current. They said they were cutting the check (and only cut checks once a week on Thursday) and 2 months have gone by. I call to follow up and they said they don’t know what happened to call back Tuesday. I only recommend this company if you want to spend more than 40 hours on the phone and basically make a full time job out of using your warranty.

Updated on 03/12/2021: This is in continuation to my earlier review, I called 855/804-4447 yesterday and talked to Tulio in the afternoon who promised to resolve it. I did not hear from anyone. I had a missed call with no voice mail. 3/12 I called and talked to Ramon and he took all the information and assured me to get back to me. So, in a nutshell, nothing has been resolved.
Original review: I have been an ARW customer for the last 5 years paying the fees but in the last 3 months, I have faced challenges when the time came to use this company. I put in the claim for a dishwasher in 2019, nothing happened, We could not get anyone home in 2020 due to Covid and kept cleaning dishes after we ran the dishwasher. Then we paid $55.00 visit charges again in 2021 to have them look at the dishwasher, and we have been waiting for the last two and a half months and have spent 12 hours in phone time with no resolution. I have been on the phone with them for more than 12 hours and reached nowhere.
They are neither offering a buyout nor giving a fixed date when they will fix it. Today they said that the service provider has ordered parts and when I confirmed from the provider, the provider said they have not even ordered any part. I called them again and was on hold for more than an hour each for three times and got disconnected. Totally frustrating experience. I filed a claim for a garage door closer repair last month and it got declined because apparently the door closer springs not a part of the garage door closer. Does that even say on the sheet they mail you, NO.
I filed a claim for a trash compactor and they could not find a similar compactor and asked me to choose something for $150.00 and they had no replacement/repair window insight. With a broken Dishwasher and a broken compactor, I had no option but to get it replaced with my own money. The service is sloppy and delayed and the customer service department does not care about the customers at all. They were happy when we were filing no claim in 2020 and when the checks kept coming for the last 5 years but when the time came to process the claim, all they have is excuses and time delaying tactics. I will never recommend anyone to ARW at all.

When I first got American Residential, somebody called me back and told me I didn't have enough coverage. I thought when I was paying about $1,500 a month, it covered the appliances and everything. But they said it didn't cover certain things like the oil heater and stuff like that. I ended up getting more coverage on it. It was all right. But if I find a cheaper one, I’ll probably cancel them because it's kinda high. Right now, people ain't got a lot of money and I’m paying $109 a month.

I actually called and e-mailed ARW to notify them that I needed to cancel the policy. June was very helpful today in following up on the reason that someone had called me earlier today. She was very professional and understanding that we had to cancel our policy due to the fact that we had to cancel due to unemployment and she appreciated our service to ARW. I originally cancelled the policy in November any phone and also by e-mailed ARW as the gentleman requested. My husband received the mail the mail and didn’t look at the statement to see that I continued to be charged for this policy. It was only this last statement I received I noted the charge. I then pulled out the previous statements and noted the charges we on them as well. I then again called on 3/5/21, I explained as above and then also e-mailed as h requested. Thank you!!

I had bad experience with the claims department and dispatcher on numerous occasions. Contacted corporate and was blessed to speak Kernst. He listened to my problem. Was very professional in expediting the matter. Only because of his knowledge and compassionate I am continuing my policy. Need more employees to serve customers with the same standards. There should be a better system in place also for the wait time to speak with someone. I waited for 2 hours on a call. For me Mr Kernst if he's not considered as one of the most valuable employees in corporate he should be. I recommend your customer service employees have more training, even with their supervisors. I was told a supervisor would call me back within 24 hours back in the beginning of February and here it's March still no call what led me to corporate. Thanks Mr Kernst.

I called American Residential Warranty for a claim, told them my stuff was messed up, and that I needed somebody to come out. That part was pretty easy. They charged me $55. They then processed the claim and I waited about two days. They said they would call me but I never received the call. They said they emailed me but I never checked my email because I told them to call me because I really won't be checking my email. I ended up waiting. About four or five days later, I called in. The rep said someone called me but I didn't have any records of anyone calling me. They said they didn’t have a serviceman in my area to fix my appliance. They should have known that when I first filled out the claim and told them my address. They should have told me they would not be able to service my contract. This was around the time that it was 20 below outside. I asked what I was supposed to do and they didn't know.
I called back a couple of days later and asked what the update was. The rep said they would send me a check to get the appliance fixed myself. I asked what I was supposed to do if the cost was more than what they sent me. That was in the contract they said. I said to hold on and I was gonna just check something else out quickly to see if I wanted to do that or not. I called the rep back a week and a half later and told her to send me the check. She said they were gonna process the check. The check would take about two weeks to get out here. Either way it goes, my furnace was still down for almost two weeks. I still haven't received the money and I'm paying for a warranty that was dumb. American Residential didn't give me any option. Since they didn't have a service person in my area, my only option was to take the money.

I submitted a claim a month ago (Feb 6th) and it was not processed. I contacted ARW BBB claim dept. And Tulio ** contacted me and listened to my issue. Researched it and kept me informed every step of the way. He also offered to waive my next service call fee for all the stress I went through. Tulio was patient, courteous and took the time to ensure my issue was resolved and my claim paid.

My daughter's heater went out. It took us like two days to get ahold of anyone at American Residential Warranty. Then when we got them, we were like, "Well, she's cold and we need someone out." They're like, "Well, just to let you know, it takes 24 to 48 hours for us to find someone." We switched to American Residential Warranty from Landmark. Apparently, Landmark is a number one, which we didn't realize when we had them. When my daughter had a need, it was taken care of that day. Now with American Residential Warranty, they let you know right off the bat, "Well, we're sorry you're cold, but it takes 24 to 48 hours for us to find you a mechanic, a person."
That next morning, they had someone and they said, “And they'll be calling you by tomorrow.” There was no call. By the close of the second day, we called the people that they had set up, and there was no answer. The machine doesn't even say who they are. It's just, "Beep." We were like, "Well, I hope this is the heater repair place." We left a message and then there was nothing. I was like, "Well, it's COVID. It might be limited staff. And they might not just have people answering the phone while they're out on calls." We called who they set up the next morning, and only this time the machine gave us a number, "If you're calling for this, try this number." We tried that number. It was clear that this HVAC company wasn't going to be returning our calls.
We called American Residential Warranty back. They're nice and they said, "Oh, well, we're sorry that happened. We have them on our list as viable." They're not. Now, we're the day before the predicted three-day storm, and my daughter's freezing. In the meantime, she used plug-in heaters. They blew, so she had no electricity. I asked, "So now, is electricity covered because she has had to result to plug-in heaters?” Luckily, that got solved. They just needed to rest for a little bit. We turned off and on the things like three different times. Then finally, it started back up. We were like, "Well, at least, she's okay there."
The gal from American Residential Warranty said, "Well, I will put a rush on this. I'll put a rush." I said, "Okay. So what does that mean?" She said, "Well, it just puts a flag on it. And like before, we could have someone right away. But we have to let you know, it may take 24 to 48 hours for us to find one. And they have 48 hours before contacting you. They have a 48 window before they have to contact you." I said, "Are you kidding me? She is freezing. We have a guy that that does ours. He'll come out right now and look at." She said, "Oh, well, you can do that and then get reimbursed." I told her that scares me because we've not used them before. We haven't built a trust yet. She gave me a number and an email and said, "It's very easy to get reimbursed. Once it's done, just send the invoice to here, and they'll send it to you. Now, they have 30 days to get you the check."
We did our own guy. He was out in two hours and fixed it, and my daughter had heat. I immediately turned around, sent the invoice to the email she sent. 31 days later, I got an email, "Oh, well, that's not sufficient. You need to send this, this. Here's the paperwork you have to." I have to give them the life of my firstborn child to get this $70 invoice paid. It's all for the 70 bucks. So, I haven't addressed that yet. I've been very busy. I have to print out a form and fill out the form. I have to send a PDF file of a paid invoice, which is kind of logical. They want to show that I paid it, and I get that but they waited 31 days to send me the email to say, "Oh, you need to do more to get paid back."
That was the first time we had to use them. Now, in the meantime, we have increased the policy. And to increase the coverages was easy. That just took one simple phone call. I received the email confirmation showing the new policy coverages. That was all flawless. If nothing ever happens for the remainder of our contract with them, I will not sign up with them again, and they will not get recommended to anybody. If I do get paid back, but it takes me the five months to get it, then I will not renew with them.

The girl who called for my new CC # was very nice. My issues are with your piss poor communication to your customers, Except when you are trying to sell, or in this case get a new CC #... then your company was Johnny on the spot to get there $.... First claim - dryer, file a claim, you take $55 send email. Takes a week to get it looked at, then have to order 2nd part, timeframe to repair was unacceptable. Try to call your company... That’s A Joke!!
2nd claim - washer, file the claim, you take my $55, send me email, came in 3 days, order parts, was told by repairman that one of parts not available, wait 5 days and hear nothing, Called your company, to find out what’s going on! On phone... No Lie! I have a picture 1 hour 52 minutes to get claim dept to send me check for depreciation amount... Had I not called...Who Knows how long you would have jerked me around!! I am now planning to cancel all my services with you. After reading reviews, it sounds like you make that as tough on customers as you can as well. Only having dealt with your company for a few months... 1 out of 5 would be a good score... Your customer handling claims Sucks! And you Don’t Care do you??

I talked to someone about what the fee was with American Residential Warranty and I went with them. It was not quite clear that my washer and dryer were not included in the coverage until later, and I added that. But as far as the payment was concerned, it seemed to be all right. Plus, the upfront on a service call is less than any of the others that I found. I made one claim on an icemaker that just quit and they got someone right out here who fixed it and it cost me $55. The tech was great, too. He came in and finished up right away. I was well-satisfied with my experience.

If you're looking for a home warranty for your emergency repairs, stay away from the American Residential home warranty program. I had a Sears home warranty and was looking for another company with a better premium and deductible. American Residential representative was so convincing that I switched my coverage to them. BIG MISTAKE! Don't be fooled by the lower price; you will get what you pay for! Instead, please pay attention to the actual coverage; they do not tell you when selling you their product. Most importantly, when you call for emergency service, they do not pick up the phone. This morning, March 5, 2021, I waited for 45 min on the phone to file a claim for my heating system. No one ever answered. I called back twice to no avail.
I called a fourth time, but this time, instead of pressing option #1 for service, I pressed option # 2 for billing to cancel my policy. A representative answered within seconds. A few months ago, I had a plumbing stoppage with sewer water backing up and getting all over the house. I called for emergency service, and they told me it would take 3 days to assign a contractor to the claim. I told them that the sewer water is toxic and that I could not wait three days. I asked permission to call a local service provider; they transferred me to a different department. I put my phone on speaker and went about my business while I was on hold. An hour later, my phone must have gotten tired of waiting, and the call was disconnected. I called back and waited for another 42 min, and no answer. I hung up and called a local service provider and sent them the bill.
Days later, AIG, who apparently pays for the claims, called to inform me that they will send me a check for $350, the maximum allowed in the contract. The service cost me $475, and I paid a $50 deductible! If you live where I live, $300 barely buys groceries. Similarly, I had an electrical issue. I called to file a claim; guess what happened? Yes, NO ONE answer again! Almost two weeks later, I got a call to not find anyone in my area to assign the job after I filed a complaint.
Mind you, I live in Boston, and if you google "Electricians in Boston", you get an 11-page listing. The first page alone has 20 electricians listed! As you can see, American Residential does not even have contractors in the most popular cities who want to work for them! That's why they tell you it takes at least three days to assign the job! Despite the multiple failures to honour their promise to provide emergency services when they want to sell you their product, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and did not cancel then.
Today, March 5, 2021, I called to cancel my account and request the remainder of my premium after a third failed service request. They tried to convince me to stay and said they would get someone to take my claim. I told them no, thank you, I have reinstated my Sears policy for $69/month, $100 deductible/call, for a $50,000.00 coverage! Please note, I am not promoting Sears home warranty, and I have no affiliations with the company other than my personal home warranty policy! I am only sharing this to say that home repairs are expensive, and if you plan to get coverage for your emergency repairs, read the fine prints before you buy any policy!!!! I will be paying out of pocket for today's repair because I want nothing to do with this company. Let's see when and if I will ever get my refund from them! You've been warned! Turn the page as fast as you can when you see American Residential Warranty in your search for home warranty coverage.

I had one heck of a time getting through your phone system, but when I did get to talk to someone, my question was answered very quickly and efficiently by Andi. Something should be done to improve your phone answering system. I would answer about 4 questions in an effort to reach someone and after the fourth question I was thrown back to the first question and I had to start over. This happened at least 5 times.

I called someone to look at my plumbing and he came out and I paid the initial $55. But he never touched it. He only took my information and what I said to him, but he never said what he was going to do. But I left that alone. Then I went on until last year, my card expired, and I just stopped paying. So I was reinstated. Before Christmas, my heating went out and American Residential Warranty rectified what was wrong. It took a couple of days for me to be approved but everything went well. I got good service. But when I called the office in South Carolina, they switched me over to a department. They said, "Hold on. I will get you someone to help," and never came back. I was very, very aggravated with that. But now, I have heat. I'm satisfied.

My residential warranty agreement failed short to providing repair service. Example, twice within one year two claims hot water heater and refrigerator were not resolved. Customer service is a problems. Two claims unresolved within two years, reasons too old and no replacement parts.

Excellent phone and customer service. Mr. ** was very helpful and courteous. It was a pleasure dealing with him. He fully understood my issues and was very helpful in resolving them. The wait on the phone was acceptable. It is a good company, but I had to cancel my polices for unseen circumstances.

I understand that they're a full US company. But then I got called back, and it was somebody foreign on the phone from their billing department. I'm not sure where they were from, but there was definitely a language barrier. Also, I've updated my payment information three times now, and each time I get a phone call saying, “Hey, it hasn't been updated.” So I need to call them back about that. Overall, I'm not impressed with their service.

These guys will find any reason to avoid fixing your problem or approving the claim. It's hard to find these policy exclusions on their website but they are there. This happened for multiple claims including a heating claim where they took two months to respond. DO NOT BUY

I didn't have any issues signing up. But this month, I had a issue because they were only supposed to take out $59 a month but they took $109 out. I didn't even know until I checked my checking account that they took that much out. I can't afford that right now because I'm not working. I want to take it off. I also want for them to reimburse me for what I didn’t ask them to put down. I told them I wanted to keep the first policy, but the second policy was supposed to have been eliminated, which they did. But I want to be reimbursed and they told me it’d be 48 hours before whatever company is supposed to call me. If I can't get my money back, I'm gonna drop my policy.

Miss ** was amazing. I've been trying to get my refund and she spent over 35 minutes researching and explaining the situation. Miss ** didn't hesitate to escalate to next level. For those time I called, the customer representative was able to solve my problem and processed my case. The technician came out in timely manner to fix the problem reported. All the technician are well trained and have qualified experience in their respective professions.

We had the same home warranty as our friend and it took that company four months to replace our dryer. So, we said we were out of there. Our buddy also had trouble with something at his house and it took that company a really long time to get it done. He found American Residential Warranty and we talked to them. It’s better price than the other one we had and covers more. So, we went with them.

Ignition switch and other part went bad -Tech came out within one hour and repaired because my wife and I are well seniors. It took ARW more than 40 days to reimburse us for the repairs. Fax system and invoice email system could be improved.

I called because my dishwasher started leaking water on Saturday morning after running a load of dishes. I was able to call and reach a live human who quickly setup my claim and provided me with the vendors information. Before I had a chance to call the vendor Monday morning, they called me! The vendor was very professional, and had all the details about my claim when we spoke. Based on our conversation about the problem he was optimistic that he could order the part and be out on Wednesday so he would not have to make two trips. He arrived on time, and followed normal COVID protocols. I now have a working dishwasher, and the dishes never had a chance to stack up! Hoping I don't have any issues in the near future, but my first experience seamless.

The dishwasher needed to be repaired but American Residential Warranty didn't have any vendors that supported that brand, so I had to have the dishwasher replaced. The whole process was okay, but they could have been more timely. I had to do cash-out and get a replacement value, and it took a while just for them to process and send the cash-out dollars for the replacement.

I got two accounts with them and I used the one in my house. I was very satisfied with it. When I have spoken to their representative, the customer service was very good. The only thing that I'm not satisfied is the service fee that they charge you when you call them up. I'm a little skeptical about that. I have another property with a different company, and they don't charge me a service fee.

For the most part they are good and fairly prompt with repairs and they say in the advertisement if they can't fix it they will replace the appliance but not in my case, as our washing machine went out and could not be fixed according to service tech but they did not replace it, I was allowed I think $ 350.00 and also took service tech fee from that. I was suppose to buy a new washing with a little over $ 200.00. Good luck right. The advertisement should say what they mean not sugar coat it..Thank you.

I had a great experience. The technicians came and fixed everything very well. I would only suggest for the agents filing the claims to have provide better customer experience and not have to transfer a customer 3 different time with no one answering the question.

The customer service rep from American Residential Warranty, Carol, was good. There were a couple other ones that I spoke with. They came back and talked to me a couple times to try to sell me a policy. I kinda decided after reviewing it with them, but I liked the policy better and I liked the A&E that I was getting.

I made a phone call, because I need to request the Declaration of Coverage that for some reason I do not have. I was very satisfied with the response that I got from Medgina who was the agent that helped me. She was nice and willing to answer all my questions. Moreover, she let me know that I will receive two copies of the Declaration of Coverage: one immediately by e-mail and the second one by mail which I will get in about seven to ten days. I took advantage to ask another question regarding coverage for a GE AC unit that I have in the sunroom. Here again Medgina was open to help me with her answer.
