The representative that called me due to my card being declined was very understanding about why my payment didn't go through, and I appreciated her. She was very aware of what happens. Unfortunately more and more people are being hacked.

Good customer service by Karen. She did everything she could to help. She reran my card and it was completed immediately, the review was sent in seconds so I could complete it promptly. I will continue to use ARW as long as I own my house.

Needed to change default billing bank card. Joel was able to take care of everything in a very short time. He was very helpful, friendly and professional during our call. My wait time on the call was very minimal. I would definitely recommend calling customer service to resolve your issues.

Customer service rep Kevin was good at helping resolve issue. Still planning on canceling ARW. The company used was slow at fixing the problem. It took 3 weeks close to get item fixed due to part having to be ordered and canceling first appt. With company ask to fix machine.

I bought this plan for my 70 year old father. Who was on a fixed income. I was very specific when asking about the coverages, We live in Texas and it gets very hot. I was told by not only the agent trying to sell me the policy but by a supervisor who personally called me to tell me everything For the AC, Electrical, Appliances Et cetera would Beautifully covered. My father had to file a claim. 1st the air conditioning man that they sent showed up with a T-shirt and in a car did not have Have the supplies he needed to fix anything. Told my father that he would need freon and a call but did not even tear the air conditioner apart to look. Then when the claim was filed we were informed that at cool or freon or not part of the coverage. That there are Add on that you can purchase. One of them being free on and calls.
Once again I was very Specific when asking about the AC to the agent and to the supervisor. Both told me everything on an air conditioner was covered. Now even with the Adams he can't file a claim on that air conditioner because it has to be 30 days Prior to reporting the problem. So here we are After spending a large amount of money for the year's policy plus $55 to have AAC Tech come out and check We're receiving no help. Including $55 for a service call that Goddess nothing except for paying more money. These people are hard to get in touch with. They're hard to deal with. And they're liars.

I had insufficient funds in my account which caused auto payment to fail. I received a call from Charlene this morning reminding me of such. I asked her to process payment again due to an error on my part. Charlene was very pleasant and offered a small discount on my next payment. In addition I had previously called this morning at 8:20am eastern time ad the offices were closed. I thought this was excellent customer service because ARW proactively reached out to me to inform me about the failed payment and to ensure everything was fine with me.

I was called because my monthly payment did not go through due to a change in Debit cards. There was no pressure while I search for my new card. I was pleased to know that I was behind because of this situation. When you get a new card, you can't remember all that are connected with the card like ARW.

Karen verified my payment had gone through after I received 3 messages yesterday that payment was refused for insufficient funds. I had checked my bank balance as soon as I received the notice. There was >$300 balance. It was automatically requested by ARW computer system and went through this morning. Karen was very helpful.

When I called to try to get service for a dishwasher that is leaking at a rental home, besides brand, model and serial number, I had to answer their questions how it happened etc! It’s a rental so I don’t know! They refused to send someone out unless I answer their questions. So frustrating! I won’t use them again! Plus they are hard to understand!

It was a great experience talking to the agent but I am not happy with the service. They don’t cover all you need and you have to pay out the pocket more often but the rep I was talking to was awesome. He understood and heard what I was saying.

I was told I had to pay up front so they could give me an estimate. Decided to cancel after checking with other warranty companies well within the 30 day limit. Still waiting for the refund 2 weeks later. The estimate was well within standard pricing for what I needed. I just didn't like to be forced to pay up front. None of the other companies did that.

ARW Home sent out two different companies to look at the oven. The first person came by and said that they were ordering a part. But it never came. They sent another company out, looked at it, didn’t open the oven, and left. We never heard anything else back. We called ARW Home and they said, “We sent you a message saying that the oven was unrepairable.” And they wanted to give me a cash buyout at that time of $165 hours. I argued the point. And I said the oven is only four years old. So, I had to send proof that it was purchased within four years. They gave me a buyout of 365.
I wasn't happy with that because when I bought the contract with the home warranty, I thought that if they couldn't repair it, they would replace it, especially if it's something that's fairly new. I could see if it’s something that was 20 years old. But I was not happy with that. I bought a year's contract, so when the year's contract is over, I’d probably end up canceling it.

I was lied to when I was told repair or replacement would be at no cost to me. I was with this company for 4 years, a lot of monthly payments that increased every year with no claims. They also have the highest service call fee. I found this out after I shopped around.

Somebody called me about upgrading and I said I have everything I need. They went over the plan again and I said "Well, that includes my ice maker." They said it didn't and I had a conversation to investigate it and get back to me. But they never did. They need to follow through. I would be cautious with them.

I let them know what the problem was. The first thing they asked was for my information to pay for the claim which was $55. But when the tech came, he could only work from the indoor and the warranty didn't fall to where he had to go to the back or the roof. He wanted me to go above American Residential and to their company where they can get paid for it. I paid money and American Residential didn't do anything. I let them know and I haven't heard from them.

The rep was pretty nice and she treated me respect. We got the highest coverage there is so it covers everything in the house. We pay 56 bucks a month. They are the cheapest.

My experience submitting a claim was horrible. I had an issue with my dryer. When I opened a ticket, the dryer man couldn't do it because he said he was not getting any power. I called the electrician, opened another ticket and paid another $55. They didn't even give the time for the electrician to come. They closed the ticket the next day. Then, the only thing they could do was give me a buyout and it's like they give you $300, and they said, "Go find your own electrician." I had to wait for the $300 for another week.

When I was talking with the salesperson, I asked specific questions such as, "Do you have representatives or service people in the area I live in?" and was told that they have 80 different services under contract in this area. I also asked, "Does your policy cover heat pumps totally" and I was told that it did. Those two things were paramount in my decision to take out the American Residential Warranty. Shortly after my waiting period my heat pump began acting up. I put in a claim and they did not have anyone under contract in the area I live in. They told me to get someone who I was familiar with which I did.
The people I contacted said I was 5.9 lbs low on Freon. I had some cracks in my system and I probably needed to replace the whole system. I called American Residential and told them that we were going to replace it. I was told that because I was a new customer, they would not cover replacing the unit and that I could do a buyout for the heat pump. I was also told the heat pump would not be covered for a year, but the other systems in the house would be. Then on the day of the original purchase, that heat pump would go back under coverage. I told them, "Okay. That's what I think I'll do." Then, I was told that they would cover up to $600.
They told me I needed to send the cost of the new unit and the receipt for the payment of it and of the technician coming out. This has been going on since the 15th of November but then they deny my claim and tell me I don't have coverage. They also told me that Freon is not covered and that they needed all this other crap for a buyout. Their salesman sold me the policy fraudulently and I'm out $5,800. I'm totally dissatisfied with them.

I had the warranty for a month and I cancelled it. But it was after the 30-day trial and they talked me into keeping it. I told them I had gone with another warranty and they kept offering me incentives to stay like free electronic coverage but it really wasn't worth me staying. That cost me two months worth of premiums. I didn't like the terms and I was taking too much of a risk if I filed a claim. Plus, I didn't like that they had a limit and I could see that even if there was one major claim, it could go above that limit and I didn't want that to happen. Other than that, customer service was pretty decent.

My experience with them has been terrible. The first thing I had fixed was my furnace and it took them a long time to fix it. It didn't work and I had it fixed by other means on my own. Then, I had them fix my water heater and they told me that wasn't covered. They tried to sell me a bunch of add-ons and I refused. We ended up settling. I paid for the water heater, put it in and then they reimbursed me for the water heater only. Then, I had a garage door fixed. The first guys charged $300 to fix it. Then I got it fixed for $150. Also, my toilet backed up and did $7,000 in damage to my house. They would not fix it.

I switched from American Home Shield to American (AHS) to Residential Warranty (ARW) in August 2022 because AHS kept increasing their prices for both the contract and service calls over the 12 years I was with them and we had an issue with the AC last summer that took Home Shield a month to get a contractor to the house to fix.
ARW told me that heating and AC are considered to be emergency calls and a contractor would contact me within 24 hours. This morning it was 3 degrees outside and my heater did not cycle on last night so I woke up to an interior temperature of 56 degrees. I called ARW to put in an emergency work order and the service representative tells me they don't have any HVAC companies on contract to do the work in Reno, NV (the second largest city in Nevada next to Las Vegas) and asked me who I would recommend. I gave them the name of a well known local company and they said they would contact them and start the work order.
I got a call 3 hours later from ARW telling me that the company I referred to them does not do warranty work and I could wait three to five days for their claims department to attempt to find someone or I could contact a company myself to have the work done then file with ARW for reimbursement. When I asked the limits on reimbursement, the person told me she didn't know and would email the information to me.
For a company that is rated in the top half of Forbes Home Warranties, one would have the reasonable expectation that they would have HVAC companies on contract to do work in a major US city such as Reno, NV especially considering the high temps in the summers can reach 105 and lows in the single digits to below zero in the winter.

Robert contacted me and I told him I would call him back after he did the sales pitch. All good. I got his extension number and called back when Mike ** picked up the line and would not transfer to Robert's extension by saying he could not get the extension. This is nasty when they know that they are on commission so Robert missed out on his pay. Robert called me back after he found out but the number he called in on doesn’t answer. This type of ** makes me doubt the honesty of the company as a whole.

Do not buy from American Residential Warranty. They are by far the worst company with the worst service. They scammed me, charged me for electronics coverage, and never provided any service, I placed a claim, they charged me for the service call, and monthly fees, and never followed through with it, when I tried calling, after charging my card for the fees and service call, they blocked my number, and my IPN number from going through. I could not follow up on anything because once they got my money, they blocked my number and IPN address from going through. How are they getting away with all this horrible customer service and lies? They need to be investigated. Do not make the mistake I did and buy their home warranty.

My air conditioning stopped working on 10/11/2022. I filed a claim with American Residential Warranty and they scheduled the first provider for 10/13. The service provider came out and misdiagnosed it as a Thermal Expansion Valve (EVV Stepper Motor) and my claim was denied. After having the valve replaced the air conditioner did not work. The service provider then stated that my system would need to be replaced. I called ARW back to continue with my initial claim as this could still be covered under the initial claim. They stated they wanted a second opinion.
ARW then rescheduled the second opinion with the same initial provider. This delayed us again for a couple of days. I was then rescheduled with a new provider who canceled the day of expected service and a new one was rescheduled. After waiting another week the next company canceled and a new company was assigned. Finally, a provider was sent to my house on 11/8 who again stated that it was a Thermal Expansion Valve (EVV Stepper Motor) so my claim was denied again. I am now in the endless call tree loop of trying to get someone that can speak without a heavy accent and just tell me something other than "I'm just reading the notes". I have tried to get this escalated however I am being bounced through various phone trees all leading back to the initial provider coordinator that can not do anything other than submit a service request to providers.
The weather has been hot and humid since October and with little kids trying to sleep in a 92-degree house at night it has been miserable. It's gotten so hot a couple of days that I rented a local room as the little ones began feeling sick from the heat. This is the worst customer service I have had from a company. When they were selling me this warranty I was being emailed and called on a regular basis and now that I need the services I am left here unable to get the service I was promised. When they denied my claim the first time they only needed one opinion now that it's possibly something they are on the hook for they want a second opinion.
I am being told that I need to pay an additional $55 dollars if I want to open a new claim to get someone to look into my case. I don't want to pay someone another $800 to replace the same part that was replaced the first time and did not fix the issue. I just need someone that can do something other than just "read the notes"(I have seriously heard that phrase so many times) PLEASE HELP!!! Warning to anyone shopping for a warranty company the sales team is located in Florida and will promise you top-tier customer support however the "customer support" you will deal with is most likely outsourced somewhere outside the country and can only "read the notes".

The sales person mentioned their company had a Kitchen Plus program and stated it was $45.81 a month with a 30 days review. After receiving an email with the declaration of coverage listed I found out the washer/dryer was an additional item that I was not aware of and the monthly fee was changed to $49.80. I decided I did not really need this home protection service agreement. Cancelling was not easy and was told it would take 30 days for a refund.

Signing up with American Residential Warranty was simple. I told them what I wanted, and they told me what they had and the pricing. I just did a claim on the refrigerator. The technician came out when he said he was going to come which was Thursday, looked at our refrigerator-freezer, and said he'd be back the following Thursday with the parts that were needed. My wife was satisfied with the visit. He was very nice and easy to work with. He told her what was wrong.

I have not utilized ARW yet but their program is a whole lot better than the one I had before. The reps were extremely helpful and full of information, assuming that the information that I was given was not a sales pitch and is valid. I didn't have time to make a decision based on information in writing. It was by phone call, and I do not do well with sales pitches on the phone. Because I needed to get it done quickly and in order to hold my price, I had to sign up over the phone. That was not a good thing. American Residential Warranty could have service representatives who could speak without an accent and able to speak about repairs other than reciting from a script.
I had plumbing issues that involved slow running drains. American Residential Warranty got a plumber to come out. In order to fix the slow drain, they'd have to replace a piece of lead pipe going back on the wall and break out tile. I said, "Before you start talking about that, I need to find out how much coverage there is in order to get this repaired afterwards.” The first plumber ended up not doing the work. I ended up having a second plumber out here. The second plumber took numerous calls to get them to come out. It was frustrating partly because of the plumbers I was working with. For the sink that was not draining properly, somebody came out and ran a snake through. Then the bath tub stopped draining at all. Someone had to come out and replace the trap. American Residential Warranty covered none of that. They covered the snaking, but they didn't cover the actual repair. I still ended up paying $800 for the repair.
The experience of going through of every time I'd have to talk to somebody has been enormously frustrating. I felt the "customer service representative's" basic job was to keep repeating that whatever it was I was looking for wasn't covered. I felt that there was nobody who I could discuss the situation with, other than all they could do was repeat back something on the script. It was not something where I felt I had somebody who understood what I was talking about.
I had one person I call with a question about plumbing. There was an email that went out and said, "You can get your heating service checked out for $75 fee, and you can get your heating service checked out." I have a hot water baseboard heat. I've never had a house with hot water baseboard heat. I told them to book somebody to have them come out. A guy came out and said, "What you have here doesn't cover your type of heat."
Somebody with American Residential Warranty has refunded the $75, but it was ridiculous. If you're going to sell a service and it's only good for forced hot air systems, it would make sense to say, "We will check your forced hot air system for $75." It was very concerning when I called back to say I just got charged $75 for something, and the guy said it was not covered. The person who I spoke to never heard of a hot water baseboard heating system. They said they'd have to google that. They're supposed to be a customer service representative, but they do not understand what it is they're representing.
What I want to do is call American Residential Warranty and cancel their service because I was so disgusted and aggravated with the multiple phone calls and the multiple times that people would come out and say, "I can't do anything about that." That is not worth the aggravation, especially when I have to turn around and pay for the whole thing anyway. What the heck is American Residential Warranty good for?

Had an issue with a leak in a plumbing pipe in the backyard that was causing major flooding. Reached out to ARW/Onpoint and got a contract plumber to come out and diagnose the problem. He was able to find the leak, but was unable to do any work as their company had to go through the home warranty. It had to first be approved by the home warranty in order for them to fix the issue which is standard when dealing with a home warranty company. My experience, however, goes very sour when trying to get the approval from the home warranty company.
Initially, the claim was not something that ARW/Onpoint usually approves. Fortunately, we live in a house that had previous plumbing issues so in order to be proactive, we paid extra to make sure that all plumbing, interior and exterior, was covered. This we had in writing, and still ARW/Onpoint was unable to confirm that our issue would be covered and approved. This process of confirming whether or not our issue would be covered took a full week.
Meanwhile we have had to live in our home, turning on and off the water and using it only when necessary. Any time the water was turned on the flooding in the backyard returned. The flooding was so bad that it ran over into the neighbor's backyard as well. Going into the second week I was now calling ARW/OnPoint daily, trying desperately to get the issue resolved. Each time I spoke with a person who seemed very eager to help and said they would look into it for me and call me back.
Several times I never received a call back, which is a major reason I had to call daily. In addition to this, I was also calling the plumbing company daily. Each time I called they let me know that they had received no communication from the home warranty company, despite me being told by the home warranty company, several times, that the claim had been approved and that it was indeed sent over to the plumbing contractor. The communication between ARW/Onpoint and their contractors is abysmal. I was literally having to be the third person, calling one company and the other, sometimes multiple times a day.
Finally, after being fed up, I made a three-way call and put the plumbing company on the line with ARW/OnPoint. Unfortunately, this again resulted in nothing other than me finding out that initially, the claim was put in incorrectly, they had to cancel it and redo the claim, and that it was still pending. This I found out well into the second week of my daily phone calls with the home warranty company. I am even writing this review with no solution in sight. The extra coverage that we purchased was purchased in March 2022. The issue that we currently have started in October 2022 yet the home warranty company still had to struggle, and juggle me from one person to the next, in order to validate our extra coverage.
All in all, it has been two weeks, daily phone calls by me to the home warranty company, and the plumbing company that they contract and we still have a claim that is pending. I am absolutely at a loss and can not justify how this could even be possible. I am having to devote way too much of my time trying to get this solved, seemingly to no avail. What is the point of a home warranty company or coverage when it is this difficult to get issues resolved? ARW/OnPoint has proven over the course of two weeks that they are absolutely incapable of doing their job accordingly and are completely untrustworthy. I strongly encourage anyone reading this review to look elsewhere for a home warranty company. I cannot express the utter disappointment I have in ARW/OnPoint. They have simply proven time and time again that they are useless and completely unnecessary.

I've purchased a home warranty, paid the monthly premiums on time monthly. When my oven wasn't functioning properly I called for service to have the oven repaired. The company came out, look at the oven, never got back with me, I called to check the status. Stated they denied the claim, I asked why? Stated my liability and the oven cost too much to fix and the representation hung up in my face, stated it was my fault..not understanding how it's my fault if a oven not receiving electric through the wiring that a defect not my fault, and it need to replaced or repaired and I paid premiums to make sure my appliances where covered in my home. I'm very upset, frustrated, and saddened a company would take my money and not provide the services I was not only promised but paid for monthly.

My coverage began in late March 2022. I reported on August 17 that my dishwasher was not turning on. A technician diagnosed the problem on August 19 and supposedly ordered the parts. Since then I have not heard from the technician (never picks up the phone or calls back). I have called American Residential Warranty thrice in the past two weeks. Every time the standard response is that they will try to contact to the technician and call me back in 2 business days. They never do. I spoke to a supervisor on Sep 13; he said that in 2 business days he will make a decision; I called again today Sep 20; nothing has been done. This is the worst home warranty company I have dealt with.

This home warranty seems very enticing in the beginning when you begin your search for home warranties, but DO NOT BE FOOLED. This home warranty was purchased as a closing gift, and served a specific purpose. When my relator approached Dani ** at ARW Home warranty, she made the purpose of the purchase VERY specific.
Lo and behold, 34 days after we move in, our AC goes out. We live in Arizona. It was 117 degrees that day. My husband called and the representative said we could call any service provider of our choice, because it's covered in our warranty. Service provider comes out, AC is dead. Cannot be fixed. We were advised that we could submit the report from the Service guy and it would be "reviewed". Not only was it hard to speak to anyone, the person on the receiving end of the phone call never had any authority to answer any questions. It was always up to the manager, or someone else, who was quite literally ALWAYS in a meeting when we called for an update. If they promised someone would call back within an hour or two, they never did. We would call again, and there would not longer be anybody in the office-they went home without calling us back. It was 117 degrees. My home was 91 degrees by the end of the day.
We had to chase them down for 3 days, for them to tell us that they were denying our claim. They ended up denying our request on a technicality of our inspection report. A representative on the phone asked for our inspection report, so we sent it. In the inspection report the AC service provider, HVAC certified, reported that the AC passed all tests and was working great. They denied our claim because of something on the closing inspection report, but they should not have requested the inspection report, as stated in our contract, anytime after 30 days. It had been 34 days.
My advice to you, if you were considering purchasing this warranty is to absolutely NOT do that. Save your money up and plan for things to break, and have the money put aside. This home warranty was an actual con, and unfortunately, they got us. We did our due diligence by having a home inspection and the AC unit inspected by a licensed HVAC contractor. ARW wanted to deny it due to what a glorified handyman said over a license contractor.

Not pleased with service or promises that was made. Wasn't withheld.. Agreement that was made was kept. When trying to get all the correct person and department was given the run around and transferred to different representative without getting the problem fix.

I switched from another home warranty service company to ARW 2 months ago and placed my first support call to them, yesterday and then tried again, today. I typically do not write negative reviews publicly as I prefer giving feedback to company managers directly by calling them. However, in this case, I am forced to write a negative review here, because I cannot get to a support or sales person from this company on the phone. Here are the multitude of issues I faced:
1) Their web portal is extremely limited in what the customer can do. So, I had to call their customer support number. 2) They have multiple customer support numbers but all of them lead to the same AVR (Automated Voice Response) system. I followed the prompts and reached a live support person. 3) I could barely hear them. I called back again. Same result. Anyway, after struggling through the conversation I was told that my platinum premium account (which by the way, is their 2nd from the 5 account selections) does not cover certain plumbing parts (which I was calling for). So, I asked them how do I sign up for the next level of service. They gave me number to call. That number led me to the support line again!
4) Then, I tried to hunt for their sales department number. Their website has a number that again goes to the Support line. So, no luck there. 5) Then, I tried to navigate adeptly through their support line's options thinking that if I call to cancel my account, I will reach a human who can help a customer desperate to make it work with them. 6) The option to cancel the account took me into another labyrinth of indefinite wait listening to our favorite "on hold" music. 7) Then I tried to log on to their site and find out how I can cancel my account. There is no option for that. At this point, I feel disillusioned, disgruntled and helpless and do not know what to do. Needless to say, my original issue is still unresolved. I just have one question: Can someone please help me?

The American Home Warranty was sold to me without the upfront verbal option to do the add on unit, as the representative inquired about my level of home (2 levels), including the number of units in my home (verbally informed of 2 units in home). At "NO" point did the representative educate/advise me of the add on unit option/cost, at which point would have allowed me the option to make the decision of the home warranty. This resulted in only (1) home unit being covered after 2+ years of having the coverage. Informed corporate, as advised to resolve matter by credit; add on to cover second unit (30) day wait period. The service person that was sent through American Residential just left a few minutes ago. He fixed the washing machine that was leaking. He came the next day after I called the warranty company. He ordered the part and that took a week, and then he came back and fixed it. So, it was pretty quick. I would recommend them.

Stay away from this company!!!! They only cover very small amount and also charge other fees on top of trade service fee. You’ll get less than what you pay them annually so better off not paying them at all.

The rep was very helpful. I had a plumbing issue and when I called, they informed me that wasn't in my policy but the rep had told me that it was. So, I had to upgrade and pay more money. I was really ticked off about that. What I had a problem with was when I had to pay more money and called them up Monday to talk to the gentleman that signed me up, I couldn't get through to his extension. I'm still piqued off that it was falsely represented to me.

The signup application process for American Residential was easy. I called two weeks ago about my AC. Last week, I also called on Wednesday, Thursday, and four times on Friday. Each time I was told that somebody would call me back. But, nobody called me back. They finally called today to schedule somebody to come out and fix my air conditioning. They were good. They gave me the names and numbers of different air conditioning companies in Macon.

Their website is horrible. Trying to log in is super basic and not friendly. When I want to go check on my claim, I should be able to log in and click on it, and see what they typed in but you can't. There's nowhere to click. It just shows that you filed a claim, the date. Then the claim number that they gave me was different from where I logged in to see. Both of those claim numbers were never the same. All it would say was the problem. I had an AC problem, but it said heat on the back end. Nobody said anything until I talked to the fifth person and was like, “I need to change your claim. Because here, it says heat and you're complaining about the AC.” I said, “I've noticed that.” He said, “No, it shouldn't say heat.”
I made the claim and they weren't able to get anybody out here. When I made the claim, they said, “They should schedule you within 24 hours. In 24 hours, you're going to hear back from somebody else to schedule the appointment. Here's the company that we're sending your claim to.” But I didn't hear back from them. I had to go and call them and see what was going on.
Once I called them, they said, “We can't get anybody out there. We've already called seven contractors and nobody can get to your area.” This is what I had an issue with, with my last warranty company. But when I bought this one, I made sure to ask, “What if I want to use somebody, can I use my own people and get paid for it?” And they said, yes. So I said, okay.
That came up again. I said, “What are you gonna do if you can't get anybody here?” They said, “We'll have to see.” When the claim people that were assigned to my claim said, “We can't get anybody out there. I'm sending this back to American Residential. Call them and see what they're going to do.” Hung up with them and called American Residential and they said they haven't gotten that information back. I called back the next morning and they said they still don't have anything from them. I said, “They already said they're not gonna fix it. They can't get a contractor out here. So now what are you going to do?” They said, ”Let me have somebody get back with you and call you back.” Nobody ever called me back.
I called again and said, “What are we going to do? It's 110 degrees in Texas.” They said, “You can use your own person.” I said, “You have given me the runaround already. What makes you think that I want to go and spend $700 when you haven't proven to me that you're gonna even give me that. I'm scared to pay that and pay you $124 a month, and you're not going to pay me back.” The rep said, “You can have a buyout option.” They explained the buyout option to me. I said, “Okay, let's do it.” He said, “That department is closed today.” It was a Saturday. He said, “But let me go ahead and put it in your account. We'll do the buy option, and then call back on Monday to make sure that that's going through.”
Sure enough, Monday came around, a girl rep answered the phone. I told her the whole story and it was almost like she was bothered. She said, “Who told you about the buyout option?” I said, “The employee that I talked to Saturday. That's the best deal right now. Because I don't want to pay for this, and you guys not pay me back. You guys have not gained my trust thus far.” She said she understood.
She finally was able to get everything entered and fixed it. She processed my buyout claim. I finally ended up with a check last week. But it was a lot of runarounds. Nobody ever followed through with what they said. Nobody followed through with the schedule. The text message part didn't work with the other company. It was a big mess right there in the beginning.

American Residential Warranty processed the claim for me, and I had to sign some papers and pay a copay. It was easy because they came right away when I called them. The repair people who fixed my faucet in the bathroom were good, but I still have a little leak, and I’m about to call them today

I called in today because my credit card was declined. I was very annoyed because I was at work and was getting call after call about the credit card, every hour on the hour. I was in meetings all day and couldn’t answer the phone. I was not in the best mood when I called in. Charlene was very understanding, efficiently handled the issue, and noted my account. Her calm demeanor and empathy saved a client today!

I'm a 10 yr customer. I placed a claim for a Kenmore gas stove that smelled of gas. The gas company was notified and disconnected stove for safety. After approx 30 days after placing claim ARW informs me they are denying the claim because the stove was disconnected prior to tech inspection. When I informed the supervisor in Boca Raton FL. she told me I should have left the connection on with the gas leaking until their tech arrived 3 days later.

Sharlene in the billing department has been great to work with. She has helped with intermittent interruptions in payments due to stolen credit card information. I wish all of their employees were as good as she at their jobs. Due to issues/policies of ARW, we are considering cancelling our contract with them. Having to wait 5 business days before ARW would submit a work request to fix our HVAC during a heat wave here in North Caroline is unacceptable. Anyone reading this thinking about signing with ARW beware!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY aka AIG. After years of paying for their coverage when it came down to pay for the repairs and new appliance it's not gonna happen. The initial service call was over 9 weeks ago. Over 25 calls into the company 12 hours of documented time to get transferred and start from the beginning. They wait for you to simply give up. Now they say they will give us 106.00 towards the buyout/repair. I have reached out to their local district attorney, BBB and family attorney. I will find every avenue to post this message and do it on a regular basis.

When I lost my debit card given to ARW for the purpose of automatic monthly billing, I missed my payment for the month. Joel helped me set up my newly issued card and set payment for two days out (since no funds had yet been added to the account since receiving the newly issued card). Joel also sent me immediately at my request a statement of coverage for the warranty which I had requested in an earlier telephone call with a different representative but had not received. Joel was knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, and professional throughout our interaction. Based on this call I would recommend ARW for its customer service/billing department. I had an issue with my debit card being block by my bank because of charges I reported that wasn't mine, so my bank blocked my old card, and my ARW payment didn't go through, but I was able to give Sharlene my banking info. and she was able to pull my ARW payment from there.

I called 4/29/22 with initial complaints, it took me talking with several people to get a plumber. I had to file another claim in order to get a plumber to take care what should've been done. Several calls to the Retention Dept. and pleading with them to call the vendor making them aware of my policy Plumbing Advantage and fixtures was covered and the job could and should've been done. This issue started 4/29 - today is 5/12/2022 and I'm still fighting/waiting on resolve.

I spoke to Matt, he was very helpful, gave me all the information I needed. He was very attentive and gave me the right help for my needs. Last month I called and spoke to someone else, I did not get the same service. I received a text message today saying that my subscription was due with the incorrect amount. I'm out of the country so I had to make a long-distance call. Matt was efficient, took care of business updating my chart and advising me properly. I'm thankful he answered the phone when I called. Customer service has been very helpful each time I have spoken with someone. The last home warranty company that's I had gave me the runaround on my repair of the refrigerator, it was a year and half before they took care of the problem.

I have recommended two friends and both forgot to tell you, but I still do. Although you could not get a plumber on time and had me get one, I did an ARW was very fast in getting me my money back. After escalating for a 3rd time they agreed to not charge me the 2nd test/diagnostics fee.
Original Review: April 4, 2022
So my HVAC needed to be repaired, and sent in claim. Someone comes out and does a test and diagnostics (a $125 charge) and the repairs would be over the amount they would pay for so they gave me an option of going through their servicer and paying out of pocket difference or sending me check (less the $125 charge) and I get my own servicer.
I initially said I'd use their servicer and said let's set it up and do the repairs. Instead of doing so, they opened another claim, and sent another person out and did ANOTHER test and diagnostics for the SAME repair and they don't fix it just tell me the exact same thing the first did, but now I'm being charged for both test and diagnostics fees. And though I pointed it out and escalated twice, they just say your typical, "we're sorry, we understand but this is the decision" essentially saying, "we understand we messed up but it's your problem and you gotta pay for it." Pretty immoral business practice to have your customer be held accountable for your mistake.
