Have had the home warranty coverage for several years and any claim I have made has been handled with exemplary customer service. Have never had to wait for any extended time on hold and all claims have been handled expediently. I would highly recommend American Residential to anyone interested in acquiring a home warranty.

On Aug 2, 2017, I contacted ARW to inform them of my inoperable refrigerator (Maytag Model # MF12568AES). I was given the name of 2 different repair companies. Capitol City Maint. and Very good Appliance both of which had previously informed ARW that they were no longer servicing in my area. I had to wait over the weekend to contact ARW to get the name of a repair company in my area.
After about a week of waiting, I contacted ARW to get another repair company out to fix my refrigerator. ARW called to inform me that Sears would be out on Aug 16. Sears called to inform me that they did not have availability on Aug 16 and that they would be out on Aug 31. On Aug 31, after looking at the refrigerator, Sears notified me that they would have to order a part.
On Sept 14, I called ARW to get an update on the status and was told that Sears could not fix the refrigerator and I would be sent a check for $460.00 for a refrigerator that cost me over $1,800.00. When asked why wasn't the refrigerator being replaced as stated in the contract, the representative could not explain. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, I was placed on hold for over 25 minutes before hanging up. No one ever contacted me from ARW about the refrigerator not being replace and the refund check being sent. I was told that once the refund was approved, there was nothing I could do about reversing the decision. I have been without a refrigerator since Aug 3 yet I'm paying for a residential warranty.

The plumber called before arriving to state he was en route. He arrived in time. He replaced my broken garbage disposal, showed me the part and what the issue was. He was very friendly and worked very quickly. The area was left clean and tidy when he left.

No courtesy mail /email or call to inform me of above information, I had to call to find out.
Is that how we treat customers you want to keep? I have requested to discussed above situation and another issue with a manager or supervisor but been placed on hold for more than 30mins. (I am on hold as I'm writing this review). I will not recommend them to anyone I know friends and family. Their service is horrible and no respect for customers. They appear nice on the phone initially but how can you placed someone on hold to connect them 40 mins and counting. Lastly, had a technician come in of 8/26/17 to service my broken air condition. I am yet to receive a report or resolution. After 2 calls I am told they are still waiting for report from someone they've contracted to work on their behalf. I am done with them, bad services in my books.

A/C then Dryer Repair: Thankful for home warranty to minimize home maintenance costs. American Home Warranty responds well to calls when we have concerns. Used for three years now and recommend them to others. I am unable to do repairs myself and neither is my disabled husband.

Washer machine would not complete cycle. The repairman was courteous, on time and skillful. Once the problem was discovered, the technician did his magic. The machine is working again. Now I have peace of mind. I would recommend your services. Great job!

I needed badly fixing my AC unit. It was on July, the hottest month of the year in Las Vegas. First company related to the company insurance could come only the next day. The Insurance company was able enough to give me second choice which worked right away to my satisfactory. Thank you, American Residential Warranty. You "saved me"' that day.

I submitted claim a few weeks ago regarding my WASHING MACHINE, DISHWASHER, & FRIDGE. During the 1st phone call that I received from 1 of your agents, I was told that my WASHER would be replaced with a new washer that was comparable to what I already have. I made a follow-up phone call on Thursday, 8/31/17 and was told that my washer was not going to be replaced at all, but instead I would receive a check for $200.00. As you know $200.00 is not enough for anyone to purchase a new washer. I am very disappointed.
After making my monthly payments for close to a year towards the highest or 1 of the highest plans that you have to offer, and now to find out that I would only receive $200.00 when I was first told a replacement would take place is very discouraging. I would like to request: A replacement for my washer, that is comparable to my current washer. Or the dollar amount that will allow me to purchase a washer that is comparable to what I currently have. Thanking you in advance for your consideration concerning this matter.

I have use ARHW 3 times, once for my air conditioner, and twice for my washer. Air conditioner took 3 weeks to get someone out here to my home. I live in Calif where the temps are in the triple digits and I have a son with MS and heat is very bad for him, nothing American Residential could do to speed things up. Showed no compassion whatsoever. Next our washing machine went out, the balancing was off. We are a family of 7, 5 which are children. School was just about to start and again they could not get a tech out for another 2 weeks again, nothing sooner.
That was back at the end of July. We are now the last day in Aug and my washer claim has still not been satisfied. I have been calling a daily basis and seems like it's the same response... "We will get back to you by the end of the day." Never get that call, I have to call the next morning. Also someone by the name of Steve in there new accounts (where they reel in customers) is a huge liar, sold me a contract with a lot of promises and it turns out none is true. So disappointed and so upset that I got duped into this. If and when my washer gets fixed. I'm dumping this American Residential and going back to AHS. A lil more expensive on service calls, but hey like they say you get what you pay for. Lesson learned!!!

Don't buy unless you want to pay for your repairs yourself. Details given during purchase call are not the truth. I was told I had a $55 deductible per incident then covered for repair and replacement. Purchased 3/27/17; effective 4/27/17. Called 3 times as follows: Ceiling fans listed as covered: problem was the remote that came with the fan. Not Covered. Hot water heater: covered for only $300 out of $1200 due to age of unit. Not mentioned when buying. Attic Fan: not covered. Cancelling immediately but will be charged $49 PLUS 4 months of coverage even though it's only been 3 months. They start from the purchase date, not the effective date. Their suggested solution: buy a more expensive plan. Not with their lousy service. I purchased from them in error. Their name is very similar to the company I wanted and was highly recommended: American Home Shield.

I wasn't sure if a home warranty would be helpful for our family, but ARW has helped us out several times in the last few years, and I have been very pleased that we have coverage. The technician knew what the problem was right away and replaced the drain a better designed one. Cleared the ice from coils. Very professionally. The response time a little long about a week from reporting of problem to fixing the problem.

The representative that took my information was very courteous and he gave me instructions regarding contacting the service person who would be fixing my door. My first experience with ARW was in July, 2017 when my toilet backed up. The plumber had to go outside the house to flush the line. I was then informed that ARW did not cover any plumbing services outside. I don't know why this was not covered. The plumber was excellent.

The burner on our Jenn-Air stove was on "high", no matter what level we set it. Initially your guy came out and diagnosed the problem, ordered a part, and scheduled a follow-up appointment two weeks later (which I thought was a long wait). The part arrived after a week, another of your repair guys showed up as scheduled, and repaired the stove in about 30 minutes. He did a good job, fixed the problem, and left no mess behind. I was very happy with the job that was done.

Until this last time I have always had excellent service. This time I had a bad time getting through to the company but when I did they approved the service and my AC was repaired, I paid for the service and was told to fax a copy of the bill and they would reimburse me the amount of $330.00. I faxed the bill and waited for the check, that didn't come. I called to find out where the check was and waited on hold for 1/2 hour, then was cut off. I called back and was again put on hold, when I finally spoke to a person after over 45 minutes of explaining the problem I was told that the claim had been denied 2 days after the approved service was completed.
I told the girl I was talking to that I had been told on the day of service that I'd be reimbursed $300.00 and she insisted the claim was denied. I asked to speak to her supervisor, and then was disconnected. I called back and was told I needed to speak with Customer Service at Corporate and was again cut off. I found the number for Corporate and called and was connected to a man named Exel, he was very apologetic and looked up our account. It had not been disapproved, he also found both Faxes that I had sent. Total this took almost 3 hours. I received a call first thing this morning telling my check was being processed and would be in the mail today and that I should have it within 5 business days. I sure hope so.

Oven and the microwave - They will doing good and it's very excellent service. We had American Home Shield Home Warranty prior to getting American Residential Warranty as our home warranty company. It was an even bigger mistake to have gotten a home warranty policy with American Residential. We probably should have stayed with American Home Shield. Virtually all of American Residential's representatives speak broken English or it was extremely hard to understand them and communicate with them in American English. More importantly, we signed up with them because they gave us the impression that a residence was covered for repairs more so than that which was covered under an American Home Shield warranty. They also told us that their repair vendors would respond quickly with little to no downtime to complete a home repair.
Don't be fooled by their fraudulent advertising or gimmicks. We have had Old Republic, American Home Shield, and American Residential, all for home warranty policies in the last several years. American Residential is BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY of the three listed above. Most recently, we placed a claim with American Residential to have the electrical evaluated at a residence. We explained to an American Residential rep that we were having issues with a bathroom exhaust fan, an outside electrical socket attached to the house, and a bathroom ceiling light. American Residential denied the claim after sending an electrician to evaluate the job. Their reason was that at least 2 of the 3 items were not covered under the policy and because of that, we owed the electrical company the house call expense above and beyond our $55 co-payment.
If some of the items weren't covered under the plan, why would American Residential? send a vendor to the residence? They either? don't know their business, or their employees aren't knowledgeable enough with respect to the home warranty policies issued to their customers. My wife told me that the items listed above would have been covered by the previous home warranty company we hired without fail. The only problem with the previous company was that they weren't prompt with responding to a claim which is why we hired American Residential, who GAVE US THE FALSE IMPRESSION that not only would they respond quickly on a claim, but they also gave us the false impression that they'd cover home repairs, including those relating to electrical, etc.
We'll be done with these clowns by the end of the month since it isn't customary for them to prorate a refund for the latest monthly premiums we had already paid them. American Residential warranty will no longer be our home warranty company in the not so distant future. As far as we're concerned, American Residential is a crooked company, and we won't be doing business with them for long. We should have checked the ratings of the 10 best home warranty companies prior to signing up with them. What a waste of time and money, not to mention the headaches they gave us. American Residential doesn't even rank among any of the top home warranty companies operating within the US. Again, don't be fooled by their false advertising or gimmicks. CONSUMER BEWARE, ESPECIALLY WITH AMERICAN RESIDENTIAL CURRENTLY OPERATING WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA.

I called last week. Don't remember what date. I was calling to get my garage door opener fixed but the person I spoke with could not find a company to come fix it, he called Sears and could not get anyone on the phone. He was suppose to find someone and call me back. It's been over a week now and I have not heard from him. CUSTOMER SERVICE sucks and still my garage door is still out but I am paying monthly for their service.

My husband and I purchased the Platinum/Premier Coverage from American Residential Warranty last year when we bought our home. Policy states our central air conditioning system is covered. Our A/C went out so we call ARW to get someone to come out and repair. The technician replaced the capacitor. The Warranty Group called and said it's not covered even though it's not listed as a non covered item. He said they reserve the right to say what's covered and what's not covered. I've paid more than 1000.00 in a year to ARW.
The cost of repair was only 182.50. And the ARW reserves the right not to pay this small cost. They didn't reserve the right not to auto-debit my bank account each month. If this company denies a claim based on what's not covered then ALL non covered items should be clearly stated before shamefully ripping off the consumer. That way the consumer can decide beforehand & before 1000.00 is lost if this is a good choice. Shameful! Extremely disappointed.

I was very happy with the techs that came to the house. I had to wait for parts but when they arrived the repairman was there. American did a good job of arranging the calls. I was pleased that there was only one deductible of $55.00 for both the dishwasher and oven.

I purchased this house warranty and made payments for over a year. My A/C went out. They couldn't find service in my area. I found a repair company. They immediately informed me they didn't work with American Residential. I paid for the repair. I submitted claim which American denied due to the diagnosis of secondary causes. There was no diagnosis of such, neither on the bill or from the tech. American said they received diagnosis from tech. Tech said they never talked to American. I have been on hold today for 55 minutes, every call I make hold time is 20 mins. or more.

ARW could not find a local technician to service us promptly, so they immediately authorized us to bring in a local appliance repair company. I have been with the company for 5 years. Our oven stopped working a month back and after sending a tech, it was determined the oven needed to be replaced. I am only being offered $383 cash to replace the Oven, which will cost over $700! Kind of takes away "forgetting about unexpected repair bills" that the company promotes. The fine print says you will get $300 for old appliances that cannot be replaced + $50 for every year you have been with the company up to a max of $500. But then from the $500, they subtract the service charge to check the appliance which leaves you with very little to actually pay for a replacement Oven!

We have maintained a home warranty since purchasing our home in 2000. We have been customers of American Residential Warranty for the last 7 years. We have carefully followed all directions and used their services for occasional repairs. For the last three years it has been nearly impossible to get service in a timely manner. There are simply no providers who are willing to work with ARW and we ultimately end up calling a local service provider and paying out of pocket for the service call with the vague promise that we will be reimbursed for part of the service call. It takes at least 3 phone calls per repair to get a provider name, with an average wait time of 17 - 42 minutes PER CALL. Up until recently we have tried to give ARW the benefit of the doubt, or perhaps we have just been reluctant to admit that we allowed them to scam us for so long.
About a month ago our air conditioner began to work sporadically. It is quite warm here in Nebraska during the summer, and the temps have been consistently over 90 degrees this past month. We called ARW and were given the name of a service provider that we should call the following Monday. When we called the service provider we were told that they don't work with ARW. Back to ARW, who tells us that they will look for a new service provider and get back to us. Days go by. More 90 degree heat.
ARW says they will get back to us within 3-5 business days. Another week goes by. More 90 degree heat. My husband calls 19 different service providers in the Lincoln area and no one works with American Residential Warranty. We call ARW every day, spending close to an hour each time (hold time, greater than average call volume?!)
After two weeks of summer heat and no help from ARW, we call a local AC company and pay out of pocket for a diagnostic call. They tell us that the unit is too old to get parts for, the coils are not repairable and the unit must be replaced. Back to ARW again. The repair company must fax a copy of the receipt to a special department for an adjuster to look at. Several more days go by. We keep calling. The adjuster that decides on our claim didn't get the FAX. More time on hold.
Finally we are told that they will pay "replacement fee", which is actually $600. The fine print says that ARW will cover "up to $600" for a unit that is over 10 years old, with an additional $50 for each year you have been a customer up to $1000 (minus the amount reimbursed for the service call). When we inquire about that (having been a customer for 7 years) our claim is reviewed by another adjuster, who notes that the technician noted that the coils are shot (although the unit cannot be repaired because it is too old). Since ARW does not cover coils, it is not a covered repair and we are out.
After 3 weeks and over 16 hours of phone time, we were told that our nonfunctioning AC is not covered. This is from their fine print: NOTE: For Central Air Conditioning Systems or Central Home Heating Systems over 10 years old: If the repair is over $600 or parts are not available to repair the equipment, a $600 replacement allowance will be paid to the customer. This allowance will increase by $50 for each full year the customer has been in the program up to a maximum of $1,000. Proof of purchase of a new heating or cooling system is required in the form of a purchase receipt.
This company actively engages in practices designed to discourage customers who try to make claims. Lost requests, nonavailable adjusters and claims specialists that never call back are how this company does business. The total "replacement allowance" is only $8 more than the average premium for one year. And though the unit cannot be repaired we were told that since the problem is in part due to the coils, they are not responsible to any of it. After 7 years of being a loyal customer, my AC is not covered at all. Even the reimbursement for the diagnostic call has somehow been refused. I will devote myself in the future to telling people about how ARW treats its customers. I will be contacting the BBB and the Nebraska Attorney General and the Department of Consumer Affairs to warn others about this business.

Technicians showed up on time and were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They checked out the unit on the ground and also in my attic to diagnose the problem. They then informed me of what needed to be done to correct the problem with my air conditioner and proceeded to do the work. My air conditioning unit now works as good as when I first installed.

We have had this warranty for quite a bit now and have not used it but got it because of the ads and word of mouth. We thought "Well it was a good thing to have in case the furnace or air or something else goes out for sure and a few other things beside that", so we got the Premier. We had to file a claim because of our breaker box which is on the inside of the house mind you, and on the premier it states right there covers internal wiring. Well they denied us, saying that they don't cover the electrical panels but if it was just the breaker or wiring they would have but since it is that and the other they would not cover it.
We even offered to pay for the electrical panel and they still refused to cover the rest. Not to mention in their ads they get someone out there real fast it took them over a week to even do anything. With all the fighting over the claim and even going to the head office and still nothing. We have go a lawyer we refuse to be treated like we have and will not be. Do not buy this it is a bunch of stupid crap. Just a way to get your money and not cover anything, they will just find a way to get out of paying to fix anything.

The first time I called for service was to fix my air conditioner. Even though I received a call from the contracting company that the technician would be late, it was a hot day, so waiting longer than necessary did not sit well with me. When the tech was done, she said that the AC just needed a fuse, but it's good now. I thought "it's good now" meant the fuse was replaced. A day or two after the tech "fixed" the AC, it started blowing hot air again and so we ended up needing to get a family friend out to get it fixed right. The AC fuse was only $10!!!! I was very disappointed that I paid my monthly fee along with the $50 service fee and it was not fixed correctly...
The second time just a few days ago, my husband called and wanted a tech to come out and repair a leaking pipe. The first rep he talked to said we didn't have the coverage (I knew that wasn't true), so then he called a 2nd time. That rep said this repair was covered and gave my husband a local heating and cooling company to come out and make the repair. Well, they were supposed to come on Thursday (yesterday) between 8-12, but did not show. They didn't even call us to tell me they'd be late or would have to reschedule. So, our pipe is still leaking and not repaired! I tried calling yesterday and was told that they can try to get someone else out to us and would call us back. I said that's fine, but I'd like to first see about getting that service fee waived to compensate for the "no show" tech yesterday. The rep agreed to transfer me to customer service to see if I can have this done.
That CSR said I needed to go to claims... uugghh. It seems no one knows what they're talking about. I tried to get back over to current claims and spoke to someone, but I wanted to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold and then the phone hung up. I tried calling again today and was told that I'd get to speak to a manager, but no one ever picked up. I am very disappointed in this service/company. With what I've experienced so far, this is a complete waste of money!

Had a leak under the kitchen sink. The plumber was very good. He detected the source of the leak right away and told us what he was going to do before he did it. It took him very little time and I had a question regarding my hot water going to our faraway bedroom. So he explained the pros and cons about a water tank and what we could do better (and cheaper). I would like him to be sent again should I have another leak (I hope not!) or plumbing issue. He came within the appointed time.

I had called this afternoon (June 1st, 2016) because of my ice maker not working. They told me that the warranty does not cover the ice maker. That is BULL because they came to my house two or three times in the past for the same problem. Again they told me that it is not covered, I kept yelling that it is. They have been here before to fix the ice maker. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They put a supervisor on the phone (or so he said he was a supervisor which I don't believe he was) and she told me the same thing. I will not recommend this ** company to anyone. They told me to have a nice day at the end of the conversation and I told them to go to hell!

If I could give this company negative stars I would!!!! I am on the do not call list so I should not be receiving solicitation calls, yet here I am, receiving calls from this worthless company for over a YEAR. Yes, a YEAR. I have asked them to stop calling me HUNDREDS of times, talked to supposed customer service managers, reported them to the FTC multiple times for violating do not call lists, and here we are. I have received FIVE calls from this company this week alone. It is harassment. This is the worst company and I am SO SICK of getting calls asking if I want to buy their stupid warranty. I have been out of refrigerator for over 2 months. They sent Sears to fix it 5 times over that period of time, and it still not working. When I finally get in touch with American Residential customer service, the gentleman told me my claim was denied. He is going to get somebody to call me. By now I do not know what I should do. I wanted peace of mind when I enrolled in that service, all I have right now is headache and stress. They like to be nice to new customers and forget completely about the old ones. Just for the record I have been with this company for over 5 years.
UPDATED ON 06/29/2017: By now over 10 different pairs of hands (technicians) have already tried to fix my refrigerator for the same issue, without counting how many times they mistaken changing this part for that part. Since they broke it down for good, I do not have any clue, maybe the refrigerator is beyond repair by now. The experts in your office must have a solution, because there should be a limit for this type of nonsense don't you think? This is a pity for new customers because they are really unaware of what they are putting themselves through.

The technician determined the unit had a sealed system issue that could not be repaired and was a manufacturer defect. The technician recommended that the unit be replaced. The customer was advised of this information and requested that our agent give LG a call regarding this and she was advised to reach out to the manufacturer herself. Per the refrigerators owners manual, the refrigerator has a full manufacturer warranty on the sealed system and compressor for 10 years, therefore the best step would be to contact LG in order to pursue replacement of the refrigerator. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide warranty coverage in the event that the unit has a standing manufacturer warranty. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

I was very disappointed with the service from the contracting company. I was given a 4 four hours window (1:30 pm - 4:30 pm). That day, I gave up all my other appointments to make sure I am home so I don't miss the technician. Unfortunately, my effort was in vain because nobody showed up. And I didn't receive a phone call neither from that company nor from the technician. I decided to call them around 4:15 pm, and I found out that the technician will not be able to show up. I was rescheduled for the next morning. I was bummed out. To me, it was a ** service. The staff of this company has no communication skill.

Washer machine issue - The service tech was very professional. He was running a little late and apologized. The issue we had was an easy fix. He showed what was wrong and what to do to keep it from happening again. The only negative was he found that one of the cycles was not working right and he said he would research the problem and call me to come back and fix but we never heard back from him.

I tried to explain to the technician that it could be a heating coil or thermostat, she would not accept my theory. The dryer never got hot and to date, I have to have had to visit the laundromat 2x. I spoke with customer service who agreed to send me a balance of the $300.00, however, that will not be enough to purchase a new dryer and will not be at my home before I will need to re-visit the laundromat. #VERY-DISAPPOINTEDWITHSERVICE.

Our Microwave was working sporadically. Doyle Patton Service repaired our microwave. They promptly called to schedule an appointment. The day of the repair they called to confirm a time. They actually diagnosed the problem and completed the repair. As of now, it's working well.

Two service people came within 24 hours. My icemaker could not be fixed and they were able to get new parts. Gentlemen could not have been nicer and said if I had any problems to please call them immediately. They gave me their business card and phone numbers with their names on them. Our freezer had stopped working and all the food in it had thawed. We called American Residential Warranty, they said they could have Sears come out in two days, or another company could come the next day. We have full confidence in Sears, so, we picked Sears to come out. The technician came in, ran a diagnostic on it and found out that a filter was plugged up. He had the part in his van and replaced it and the freezer started working. We had just gotten the warranty a month earlier. My husband spoke to ARW and said they were so nice and helpful. We hope nothing else goes wrong, but, if it does, we have the warranty. Best thing we ever did.

I have called now 3 times to have my dishwasher repaired. The company they use PM Appliance never called and when I called them they said they needed AR to book an appointment. So then I called back. The customer service rep said that no it should be between me and PM but she called and left a message for them to call me. I waited almost a week. Finally I called them and left another message and then called back to AR. I asked if I could use another company, that when I looked up PM in Yelp they had 1 star and horrible reviews. She said I could go with another company but I would have to wait until May 1st. This is ridiculous. I am very disappointed.

Responsive and fast turn around from contractors. The insurance has caps on replacements and repairs. I will recommended if your appliances and not that old and will not require a full replacement of the unit. If you expect a unit dying on you in the upcoming months you may want to reconsidered.

We recently purchased a new home (new to us) March 10. Our sale included the transfer of an American Residential Warranty platinum home warranty. Our built in microwave began malfunctioning when we first moved in, so we contacted the American Residential Warranty and a service technician came out 10 days ago. We paid our $55 deductible to the technician and he deemed the microwave to be replaced. My husband had to take off work to meet the technician and I was later contacted by the company that they had decided to replace it and someone would be contacting me in 24-48 hours to discuss options.
After 3 full business days, I called the company to inquire about the replacement. I was told I would be contacted by Friday. Friday came and went with no contact. On the following Monday I called to check on the status and was told by the customer service representative that he would send a message to the replacement department to contact me within an additional 24-48 hours. I asked to be transferred to the department and he said that was not possible but they would be contacting me. Again, I gave them 2 full business days to call before reaching out again.
Today I called and was told that they could not even pull up my information. I asked how that was possible since the company had already sent a technician and all previous customer service associates were able to pull the account up. This associate stated I needed to call before 4pm Central, or they are unable to view American Residential Warranty information. Each time I have called, I have called after 5pm when I get off work. I informed this associate of that and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was put on hold and then told that no one was available but he would message them to contact me. I asked if it would be this evening and he said they would contact me within the next 24-48 hours. Needless to say, I have now paid our $55 deductible, my husband took off work to meet the technician, have spent hours (significant hold time) on the phone, and our family is still without a microwave.

Since enrolling with American Residential Warranty, I have had 3 breakdowns in a short period of time: the dryer, the washer and the dishwasher. In each case my claim was processed professionally, without hassle and I was given a fairly quick appointment to arrange for the repairs. In all occasions, the technicians reported to my house on time. In the first case, he performed the repair immediately. But in the next two claims, they had to order the parts and set a new appointment for the repairs. The jobs were completed expeditiously and I am satisfied with the service.
My only recommendation: Since ARW is requesting the makes, model numbers and serial numbers of the appliances at the time the claim is filed, this information should be provided to the technicians so that they carry replacement parts in their trucks when they perform a visit. This would save valuable time to them and to the customer. For instance, I had to take 2 additional days off work to be home for their second visit. This could have been avoided. Other than that, I am very satisfied with American Residential Warranty and I would not hesitate to recommend this company to my friends.

My GE kitchen stove broke down 6 days ago. I called the claims department and the first thing they did was to charge me the copay. Then they connected me to GE repairs who didn't have any slot available for 10 days. I was lucky that another customer cancellation gave me a tech slot after two days. The tech showed up on time and deemed the broken part unavailable. He told us that he would be submitting the report right away and I would then need to follow up with ARW on next steps. It's been five days since the report was suppose to be submitted but I am still waiting despite multiple reminders. Every time they have the same standard response: "Wait 24-48 hrs." A non working stove for seven days and counting. Horrible...
UPDATED ON 03/31/2017: I have shared my experience about delays to get a settlement. Now that they got all the paperwork done to offer a settlement I was shocked to learn how much of a scam this is. There was a $500 cap on the payout of an appliance that couldn't be repaired. The actual replacement cost for the appliance is more than $2K. They deducted $172 from the settlement amount as what they had to pay GE for diagnostics trip charge. Really?? Lawyers and heart surgeons have billing rate lower than that!
GE repair's website states the diagnostic charge is $99 if you were to call them independently. They already took in $55 from me as trade service fee AKA copay. So net the actual payout to me was $273 (500-172-55). So much for insurance that covers peanuts. I would rather not have insurance than an insurance that covers a tiny fraction of the actual expense. Completely false sense of security IMO and not worth the agony that took over a month to settle. Good thing I went month to month on my contract as I can't justify renewing it for another month.

Call twice to make sure I was satisfied with both of their service (American home warranty) and the service technician they recommended. Cost was exactly what they said, it would be $50.

He told me he will be back out the next business day with the part to repair it. I had a mixed experience with American Residential Warranty. The experience with the electrician was great. Problem was I had been told I could pay in full myself and send invoice to the office, and would be reimbursed for the amount minus the $55 for service call. All of that was done and it was taken care of on the 14th of February, and as of today have not received a check from the company. In calling they said they had never received it although it had come through on my email from the company and the address it was sent to was HWAP@thewarrantygroup.com. I had the electrician send another invoice with the word "Reimbursement" in subject line which I was instructed to do. Now I have to wait again for another week or two to receive my money back and I am on a fixed income, and it is hard for me to let it go this long.

I have been paying for a home warranty service for two years, never filing a claim. The other night my hot water heater went bad. I filed a claim, and they sent a technician to determine the problem. Once he determined I needed a new water heater (10 seconds), he said he would call the company to let them know. An hour later, I still had no feedback. I then called the company and had to wait 15 minutes before reaching someone. She said the tech has to call the order in. Two hours later, I speak to someone else (again waiting 15 mins). Still nothing. When I texted the tech, he said he could not get through to them after trying 3 times. When I called back again, I asked them to call the tech instead of waiting.
On my next call they informed me they would only cover $300. They then gave me erroneous information about the price the tech quoted. Then they said I had to arrange the repair myself. This company gave me so much bad information, that I still had no answer about how to replace my unit. Why was I paying them? Then another person called me and gave me the same bad information that another rep gave me. They seem to just make stuff up. It takes forever to speak with someone, then when you do speak with someone they have bad information. So after 24 hours of working with them, I have no clear resolution. As like anything, one never really knows how a service like this will be until you need them. Then you realize you really don't need them at all. Do not sign up for this service, as it is a complete waste of money.

This company has been very good overall. What I do not like is the pushy man who calls from the home office after the service call to see how it was. He does listen to me, good and bad, but then he tries to sell me extra insurance that I absolutely do not need and he does it every time. I also don't like the premium price. $49.99 a month seems a bit high to me. However, the service call fee of $55.00 is a very fair price. On the good side of it, I can request a particular repair company as long as they are on ARW's approved list. Also we always get courteous service from them and it's usually in a timely manner.

I am very satisfied with ARW. I am retired on limited income. When we moved here my daughter encouraged me to get this warranty and I'm glad I did. With old appliances and limited funds, they've kept all my appliances repaired. The only thing was the ordering and receiving new parts. Not their fault. Other than that, they did good.

I have American Residential Warranty. My oven has stopped working and is covered. This occurred roughly 4 weeks ago. I filed a claim immediately online. It took 10 days to get a contractors, another 10 days for an electrician, with the electrician stating that they could not repair the oven and it needs to be replaced. This was 10 days ago. I have not heard from the company. When calling, I go on endless hold. As I am writing this, I have been on hold for 30 minutes. These people want to take your money, but not resolve your claim.

ARW did a good job of getting a contractor out to the house and arranging the repair. The repair was completed and we were back in operation within the day. I would recommend the warranty company to a friend or family member and will call the door company in the spring to replace the garage door with a new style door.

Just to let you know how pleased I am with the prompt service I received when my unit broke. I made a claim and was immediately given a phone number call a repair person and before I could call him he called me and came right away and diagnosed the problem and as soon as the parts arrived he made the repairs and I haven't had any problems since. My experience lately with American Residential Warranty has not be a good one. The last time I called in before getting my sink repaired was a bad experience. I was told that my insurance didn't cover getting my bathroom toilet in the Master room fixed. I paid for the insurance and then my main bathroom went out and they gave me hell. Still didn't fix the problem. I wanted to cancel my insurance.

On 12-27-2016, Quality Heating & AC plumbing technician arrived at my home to repair a running toilet in the master bathroom and leaking valves in the guest bathroom. He "repaired" both toilets. On 1-7-2017, I flushed the master bathroom toilet and brown, cruddy water ran over and out of the tank. I called Quality Heating & AC and got no answer; left several vm and kept getting disconnected. I was able to get AZ Plumbing Company to come to my house on 1-7-2017 in the afternoon to repair the broken toilet. AZ Plumbing repaired/replaced the valves and "donut". He stated that the replacement parts were not new as I was previously told. Following AZ Plumbing's instructions, I did not use the toilet for over 24 hours. I used the bathroom before leaving the house on Monday, 1-9-2017. When I returned home that evening, I stepped into a puddle of water in the vanity room and in the master bathroom.
I called American Residential Warranty (ARW) and informed them of everything that happened. Ms. ** informed me that I/Quality Heating & AC was initially approved for a new replacement toilet. So far, the plumbing matter has been resolved financially. I received partial reimbursement payment on 1-17-2017. I called Katy Plumbing and they in turn talked with ARW. ARW approved the company that I chose to handle my plumbing repairs on the spot! I want to especially thank Ms. Tamara ** and Mr. ** for treating my business like I really matter to them! Both Customer Service Specialists were extremely professional and attentive!

My prior claim were handled efficiently and I was pleased with the service. After contacting the company in reference to my ceiling fan I received several conflicting reports of coverage of my ceiling fan. I was with another home warranty company. The problem I had with the other company was brought to the attention of the rep when I signed up with ARW. It's been approximately a month now and it has not been resolved. I was told my fan is covered, someone will contact me which didn't happen. I called again then was told it was not covered. Then another call comes through. I explain my displeasure with the way my claim was handled. I was then informed again the claims rep did not read the plan I purchased and my item is covered.
I have only been the company since October and I am so frustrated with the reps passing the buck, promising someone will look into the matter and send someone out, which never happens. When you call to find out what company is to be dispatched to you no one returns calls after I personally left messages. Yet someone contacts me weekly about signing up which I then inform them I am already a customer. I then inform them the displeasure I have with the ceiling fan claim. They again say it's covered and no one contacts you. I am very frustrated with this claim.

Made two claims. One for my oven and another for my Heating system. The technician for the Heating system called me and wanted to come over when I was unavailable. I ask to schedule a time. He said he would call back and I never heard from him again. The tech called for the oven, made the appointment, arrived when he said he would, explained what he was doing and why, what part needs replacing. Very professional. He was in and out in 20 minutes.

I had 2 to 6 appointment. They arrived at 8 pm so that was rather late but the job was done. So far my microwave is still working. This is a good service to have if you can afford the monthly payment. A service charge is to be paid as well.

I contacted ARW regarding my microwave not heating on the morning of December 5 to report the problem. The representative from ARW was polite and arranged for a Sears technician to come to my home in an effort to make repairs. The first available date was December 9, between 8 am and 12 noon. The technician arrived that morning at around 9 AM. He diagnosed the problem and ordered the appropriate part. The technician scheduled a return date to my home for December 20. The replacement part arrived more than one week earlier.
On December 20 I received an email message from Sears rescheduling the technician for December 30. I became extremely upset and contacted American Residential Warranty and complained about this delay. ARW representative apologized and immediately contacted a second repair service. They also contacted Sears and notified them of my dissatisfaction. Two days later the Sears technician arrived at my door to make repairs. I believe it was the action of American residential warranty representative that made the prompt response from Sears.

12/10/16 - Contractors were present to fix/replace broken ceiling fan (mount dislodged from ceiling), and a light switch panel was burned out; replaced. Contractor needed add'l parts and such to complete the jobs. They rescheduled 12/17/16 to finish. We were satisfied with the work after it was completed. They did a good job.

The Frigidaire Affinity washing machine failed to complete a washing cycle and could not be restarted. I called American on Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised to be able to schedule an appointment by Sears for the following Monday morning. The technician arrived and checked the machine and found the drum bearing dragging. The price for the repair was more than the machine was valued. He contacted American and they told him to tell me they would contact me about replacing the machine. Three days later, I got a call from an adjuster who told me they would send me a check for the replacement of the machine. I took the $460.00 check and paid it toward a new Maytag washer to replace the damaged one.

I first had a problem with my plumbing. My toilets would not always flush. American Warranty was unable to get someone out to fix the issue but advised me to go ahead and find someone to do so. I was able to get a company to come out and ARW is going to cover the balance after the $55 dollar initial charge. My 2nd issue was with my refrigerator which was not cooling. They sent someone out and fixed the problem which required a second visit to replace a part. Only costing me the $55 dollar charge.

I had already had a negative experience with another company, so I was apprehensive about trying anyone else. When I first signed up with American Warranty, the rep was very pleasant, and seemed knowledgeable, but boy was in for some surprises. She told me about every plan they offered, and explained why the premium package would be the best choice for me. I asked what all my plan covered, so she began to tell me. I distinctly remember her saying that appliances were covered. If that was the case, I thought surely my issue would be one that the company would handle.
Well once the technician got to my house and looked at my washing machine, he explained that the problem was not covered, but that I was still expected to pay the service fee. Then he proceeded to try and call the company, and told them to call me, but I still haven't spoken to them. I am disabled and my husband is my sole means of support, so we definitely don't have money to give away. If I had to sum up the entire experience, I would say that I was lied too, and buyers beware and get a complete understanding of your plan.

When filing a claim for our washing machine, the methods of addressing the claim did not appear to be well known by the Claims Representative. The Claims Rep explained a check for the amount described in the contract is being processed. When I inquired about a replacement machine, the Claim Rep explained this is not an option. I took the opportunity to explain, both options (check or replacement + difference in money due by the customer) should be available. I asked to speak to a supervisor to help review the process and was passed over to another person who also was not aware of any other options due to the age of the washing machine.
I took the liberty to contact my original sales contact who was able to connect me with a Claims Resolution contact. Fast forward to the end, Chloe ** had all the answers and the solution that I expected from the start. I would like to recognize Chloe for her excellent service, communication and helping make this a positive customer experience.

The contractor was great!! He got right on the job and definitely knew what he was doing. The only issue I had was with waiting on hold to get approval. This should all be done prior to coming to my house. The contractor should just have to come over and do their job, collect the check from me and move on. ARW should also be doing the work to finding the contractor. This should not be left up to the customer to find one and then once we do find one go through this whole process to see if they qualify.

Professional Garage Doors was the repair company that came out to service our garage door opener. The serviceman, Larry, was very polite and accommodating. When our garage door opener could not be repaired, he installed a new one just as the warranty stated would happen in this type of situation.

In the past I called and requested service on the primary pan, I was told pans were not covered. A service ticket was created even though it was not covered. No tech dispatched. When I called for service on my outside unit, was told the pan had to be fixed first. Why do you care if it is not covered? The pan had nothing to do with the service request I was making on the outside unit. We had to suffer through unreasonably hot temperatures, for a week. I have 2 elderly family members and a pregnant daughter in my house. To me this was unacceptable.

At this time having problems with contractor saying they're not getting approval. In the meantime we are cold. Contractor came yesterday said just need a blower and would be back. If didn't come back it means he would have to order. Called warranty group this morning to see what was holdup and found out it's the contractor not giving warranty group diagnosis. This changes how I feel now that I know it's not warranty group.

I called with my problem (no hot water). They immediately gave me a claim number and found a repairman to check it out, and they kept calling to make sure problem was being taken care of. During this time it was a hurricane going on in Florida where center is and with Matthew destroying Florida, I still now have hot water. Thank you.

Our water heater and dishwasher broke in our rental home. Our landlord has a warranty. Now usually with anything that has to do with warranties it will take forever. This was the total opposite. Fast response time. Like same day. Friendly people. Very helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a warranty.

Our AC unit failed to blow cold air so we contacted ARW. They promptly provided me with the name of a contractor to service our unit. The contractor was able to arrive within 3 hours of the initial contact, performing the needed repair in about 20 minutes. Cold AC in Arizona is a necessity, so we were grateful for the expedite service.

I have used American Residential Warranty for several of my appliances (Dishwasher, Stove, Oven, Refrigerator) and they have always been very responsive to my problems with my appliance. And my appliance gets fixed. I am very glad I have ARW.

On 10/21/16, I called the 1-800-341-3624 to file a claim on my heating problem. I was disconnected twice before I spoke with a staff. After taking my information, I was instructed to call Tson ** @ ** after being given a claim #**. After calling this number, the owner informed me that they did not service this area because the distance was too far (only 20-25 minutes) from my residence. I contacted American Residential Claim again to share this information. They asked me did I know of anyone which I did not.
I was instructed when I was referred by a friend who I shared and referred 2 other friends that your company would locate someone to do the work. I feel mislead. Your employee went on to say they had 24-48 hours to locate someone to come out to my house and would call me back. I called again to follow up on 10/22/16. Again was hung up on and finally connected. Spoke with a staff on 10/22/16 who again said someone will reach out to me later this date. Today is 10/23/16 and still no response. If you are not going to stand by your promise, I need to look for another warranty company and not continue allowing you to take money out of my account monthly and not give me the service. If I am not satisfied, my friends also need to reconsider.
Updated on 10/31/16: No longer sure how to rate my circumstance with the inconsistency and the mix messages. Spoke with Ron @ 1-800-346-1247 X ** through several phone calls last week. I assumed everything was worked out. Ron was unable to locate a service provider in my area who was willing to come to my house, stating the distance was the reason. Although I do not believe their reasons was accurate.
I am 25 minutes from one service provider and 30 from the second. Your company only have 2 providers in this area. Other providers would charge a diagnostic get up from, which was more than your agreed $55 deductible. Ron said I would not have to pay the deductible of $55 toward my heating problem. Received a check and the deductible of $55 was taken out. I feel this is very misleading because as I went over the contract with Ron, he admitted other customers had complaint about the service contract and information given over the phone.

I would've paid an arm and leg if I hadn't been covered with the warranty and we know our home insurance isn't paying for the repairs of any home appliances, electrical, plumbing and electronic devices {tv, soundbar and components/bass box, laptops, etc}... you refer the best companies to get the job done in a professional manner. The hurricane ripped my panel off my unit outside. I called American and I was given 3 names to call for service. The 1st co. did not get back to me until beginning of the week. The Best Co., Harry Bennett - owner called me back right away! They sent a wonderful guy Ezariah and he fixed my problem! Cleaned up after himself and very respectful!!! I was VERY HAPPY! Thanks to all who were involved with my case especially since it was the weekend of the hurricane! So worth having this insurance!! I've told many friends & neighbors!

I reported the claim made an appointment with the repair company and they came out replaced my garbage disposal and it is working perfectly. The second time I've Reported a claim with this company and I would recommend it to anyone. The service is outstanding.

Every time I need make claim it not cover, always don't cover that. I had top package. It always changes. Look for new company.

Upon waking on a Monday morning we found that part of the house was in darkness. American Residential Warranty was quick to give us a claim number and the problem was resolved by 2:30 the same day. We feel very fortunate to be involved with such a responsible company.

ARW did an excellent job of handling my repair cost and also following up to ensure work was completed. Service provider wanted me to pay upfront and then have ARW reimburse me - I told them "absolutely not" - that defeats the whole purpose of having a warranty.

The first company responded immediately, but did not service LG washing machines. The second company never responded. I was then assigned A&E Sears repair. They arrived the day promised and did an outstanding job. Although a second appointment was made for the washing machine. The first repairman made a misdiagnosis and a second repairman was sent. He knew exactly what was wrong. Thanks to all who assisted me in getting the repairs done as promptly as possible.
