Called them for my garage door opener. About ten minutes later, they sent me an email confirming order for a new garage door opener. No hassle. No gimmicks! Even when there was issue with the installation 3 months later, they help fixed it!

I have no long wait when calling in for a problem to be fix. When the company they recommend comes out, they do their job professionally. All I pay is my fee for coming out and I do not have to put out extra money. The company that comes out does their work right the first time which last for years.

Service worker was friendly & worked to check and eliminate problem. Order replacement for defective parts. I feel that age of the appliance should have been given more consideration. A replacement would have been more appropriate because this was the second call on fridge.

They came out twice to look at different problems and they corrected the water heater problem. I was not charged for the second visit after explaining the situation. Their customer service was friendly and courteous. Then I called them to submit another claim and that is currently be worked on.

Our dryer stopped drying. I put in a request to the home warranty and they set someone to come out and fix it. They were very professional, courteous and fast at getting my dryer back up and running. I would highly recommend friends and family to the warranty and repair company.

The repairman was prompt. He identified himself and was wearing identifiable clothing for his company. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He explained what was wrong with my dishwasher and offered suggestions on preventing a repeat of this problem.

I just joined this company a few months ago. And had a power surge that damaged my circuit board on my central unit. I called in for a claim, super professional courteous service. Immediate transfer of my information to a company Marvin's AC & Heating, LLC Baton Rouge company marvinairandheat@yahoo.com. Super company, highly experienced professional. Owner serviced my repair, he came to my home the same day of the call in and was back the next morning to replace the board. 15 minutes and I was up running again. My experience was super and I am glad that I signed up with this company. And would definitely recommend to another person.

The stove repair was made in a timely manner. The repairman was on time and very courteous. He worked in an extremely tight area, but managed to overcome that obstacle. He wore protective booties, careful not to track outside weather conditions inside. His appearance was professional. Overall, this was an extremely pleasant experience.

After submitting my claim, I had to wait to hear from the outside contractor that was supposed to come work on the A/C unit. They never called. The next day they worked hard to find a replacement after third party never contacted me.

Very responsive, allowed me to have my furnace repaired quickly and covered all of my costs. The repair person seemed satisfied as well with their prompt service and he was paid in a timely manner, which wasn't the case with my previous home warranty firm.

The man that came to fix my refrigerator was done in about 30 minutes. He did a great job. He came checked to see what the problem was. He replaced a crit board. And the refrigerator was working in less than a hour.

My General Electric microwave stopped working on Thanksgiving Day Weekend. ARW made sure they obtained a reputable GE repair person to take the appliance out of the wall for repair. Best part was, it took less than an hour. Thank you.

The repairman was very efficient by trying to fix my problems and try to order the replacement board but Couldn’t get a board replacement, so you all send me a check to replace the microwave, so this was my first experience with this company.

Great experience! One of my major concerns when dealing with home service representatives is that he or she is on time and presents themselves in a professional manner. My mechanic was all that and more. He diagnosed and resolved the problem quickly and accurately and provided me with a detailed invoice.

Property address of service is **. The service repair was done at my rental property on my washing machine. The first initial visits had to be rescheduled because parts needed to be ordered. My tenants have not called me so I assume all is well. I have no complaints and no problems that have not be resolved to my knowledge.

We have been very happy with the service we received from ARW. Our microwave started working inconsistently. We called the company which sent a technician who discovered that it was not repairable. The company then sent us the insured amount which allowed us to purchase a replacement.

I called American Residential Warranty prior to a holiday, they came out imed. Found the oven not Heating up, was told by the Heavenly Cool LLC that he needed to order the part to correct the problem. Was kept informed during the waiting period and within eight days we were cooking again with no further incident. Thanks American Residential Warranty.

The issue with my furnace was quick and easy. The response time for my claim was the same day (within hours). The repair guy was very knowledgeable. With a few questions for me and observation of the unit, he quickly diagnosed the problem (blown fuse). He replaced it and went further to make sure there weren't any additional problems. He was very efficient!! The problem was solved in less than 30mins. I'm warm again!!! Customer Service was outstanding!

Quick to respond to claim. We had a good plumbing company take care of the issue, very efficient. Claims department takes care of paperwork for reimbursement promptly and with no issues. Used to like putting claims online, but I guess giving the information to the representative makes it faster for them to resolve the issue.

When we called, our refrigerator had stopped cooling; only a spare refrigerator and upright freezer spared our contents. A quick call to ARW scheduled a repair service; 2 days later, he arrived and quickly resolved the issue. The refrigerator was working within an hour. The job was clean, efficient, the service provider professional, friendly, and fully equipped to do the service. We could not be happier with the work, and could not be happier with American Residential Warranty for performing the service!

Our dryer needed repair. The problem was that the timer was not turning and the heat produced by the heating elements was not enough. The appliance repair person was unable to fix it. The company sent me a check for $320.00 toward the purchasing of a new dryer.

I've only had bad experience with the American Residential Warranty for almost three years we have an agreement with them. First of all, their pool of providers needs serious revision. Last time they've sent someone with very negative online reputation to my house, the guy took the deductible, went to buy a part and never came back. He would give me appointments but never show up for them. The reaction of American Residential Warranty is very, very passive and submissive. I'm now left with a disassembled dryer, no tech to repair it and no payout for me to buy a new one (which is supposed to be the case, according to the contract).
Additionally, their customer service representatives are really not always competent. Every time I call I have to deal with someone either not finding my profile, or not finding the claim I am calling about. I don't know what kind of database they use but surely not the most intuitive for their customer care representatives. In general, it always takes me 3-8 weeks to resolve any issue with the ARW. That's a lot of time and energy, completely not worth it. I surely do not recommend this company to anyone and I am not going to renew my coverage with them.

My refrigerator went out the day before Christmas Eve. The repair service that American Residential used was not able to see me before the holiday only to find out after I paid the deductible, so I had to find a repair service that could see me immediately. Needless to say, my refrigerator was repaired before the holiday. I had to speak with 5 different operators and 1 1/2 on the phone before I received the confirmation that my email was received with my receipts to get a refund for the service that I paid for.

My washing machine had stopped working or the weekend, the belt had fell off. I called America Residential Warranty, and they sent someone out on Monday, they didn't have the part with them, so they went and got the part from a local store.

So far, I've gotten my MacBook Pro fixed as well an my ice-maker. Great Service. I called, then paid my deposit over the phone and a contractor called me (for the ice-maker) - I shipped the MacBook off (free postage) and then got the laptop back in less than two weeks!

Filed a claim and contractor came to my home on December 17th for my stovetop. I have not seen or heard from the contractor since Astros Appliance. Called American Residential Warranty, who my service fee was paid to and they said they can’t do anything because parts have been ordered. It has been a month without the ability to cook and they can’t help me. UNACCEPTABLE!!! In all fairness, I’ve been a customer of ARW for some time and this is the worst experience ever.

My husband submitted a claim yesterday at 7 am regarding our hot water heater leaking and no hot water. The rep advised him the system needed to update and to call back at 2 pm. At 1 pm he called back and the next rep asked him about the make and model again. Placed him on hold for 3 minutes to return and say the system needs to update and to call back. I called back around 1:30 pm because I did not understand what needs to update if they found the account. I was told by another rep an error was inputted with the make and model therefore another company needs to update the system before they can dispatch a technician.
This update could take 2-3 days!!! Of course that means 5-7 days because we must include the weekend and the holiday. I spoke with a supervisor and she tells me the same thing. As a on time paying customer I DON'T CARE what needs to update! I have no hot water and it is raining. It appears to me you don't want to make the necessary repairs or you're going out of business. I called back today and the new rep tells me he cannot find the claim. As I began to talk he tells me he see the notes and he would give me a callback once the system updates! When? 2020???

My only negative is the response with the department getting the correct person, and locating business to do the work, the company responding to you doesn’t always do work in my area, then I have come back to you, they don’t!

I highly suggest that you do not get mixed up with this company. The vendors are incompetent, and you will spend hours on the phone with little or no resolution. The wait time for parts and approval can take up a week. Trying to cancel your contract is next to impossible. The employees are bullies, and when you stand up to them, they hang up on you.

After I filled out an online request this company called me back with my area code, not a 800 number. I told them that I didn't want to do business with them. The next day they called me over ten times, each time I ask them not to call me. They woke me up two hours earlier than the time I get up. After eight days I called and once again told them to place me on a do not call list.

I'm a current warranty owner and I have horrible experience with the claims. They will pacify you, lie to you and try to get you off their back with all empty promises. Every time I call back they do not have any records of the previous claim information they promised to work on and start the process all over again and end with empty promises. The worst and horrible company ever if I can put it mildly. Lies and deception is their game if you want to play. Be warned...

Fixed heating thermostat. Technician was very professional and did work at a timely fashion. Thank you again for your service. Technician came on time. When we needed the dryer fixed we called ARW and they had a technician come out and fix the dryer. It needed a heating element. The man that did the work on the dryer was very courteous and the dryer works good now. We would recommend ARW.

Ice Maker Repair - The repair process was extremely easy. The service technicians were knowledgeable, friendly, and followed through with their work. There was a small issue with parts availability, but American Residential Warranty had the parts shipped directly to me for the technicians to install at a later date. Refrigerator. The service guy was very knowledgeable and friendly and courteous. He did a great job. The problem with the refrigerator it was freezing all the food that was in the refrigerator part. He came and told us the problem. He had to order the part. He came back and fixed it. He told us if the icemaker was not working to call back and icemaker still not working so will call back and get that taken care.

My wife called on Friday to make a claim and was told someone will be out to on Wednesday the 2nd of January between 8am and 12 pm. When no called or came my wife called the company that was coming out and they have no records of our claim. Plus they said they don’t even service American Residential. I can’t get in touch with anyone from American Residential because I am just left on hold. I paid all this money for a service that I can’t even use due to the fact I can’t seem to get an answer from anyone. This has been my worse purchase of any product.

First I paid the $55 service fee and was told that I was only given $350 to replace the water heater which was about 1/3 of what it cost so I had to fork over an additional $950. That just DOESN'T seem right!! AND THERE'S WATER IN MY DUCTWORK AND CRAWL SPACE THAT THE PLUMBER DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE (should have discovered when inspecting damaged/leaking water heater, which I pointed out to him, to no avail!). It would have been cheaper to have bought heater, paid plumber to install and saved a ton of money. These **' folks should be sued for false advertising. Sooo... before giving this company your hard earned money and your business, ya might wanna check out the competition because you can bet that I'm going to "aggressively" do that. Unhappy Insured Client.

I have not been with them a year and thus far service is slow turn around for getting in touch with dispatchers to approve items to be fixed or replaced. The customer service representative seem to have no clue as to what is going on with your claim and they seem to have, "I could care less about your problem" attitude. I live in Michigan and have been without heat for three days.

I am very happy with ARW. I put in a claim on my dishwasher and ARW called that day to get a repairer at my house. When I was told that the dishwasher was unfixable ARW called the next day and arranged to get a new one. I would definitely refer ARW to anybody who wants your home items protected.

Service was ok. I put in a claim and got my washer fixed the same week. I also put in a claim to get my AC fixed. I put in a claim for my AC but it was the weekend so it would take a while to get someone out to look at it. They allowed me to find someone on my own to fix it the same day and they approved it and paid them.

Service call for dryer - Our call was handled promptly. The contractor arrived on time and fixed the appliance; The unit was not drying clothes, taking too long, the repairman cleaned the vent and checked all the belts, he ran and tested the unit, was very patient and respectful. I have a failing water heater in my home. They said it was a pre existing problem even though this problem just started occurring. So after a $80 service fee, 3 days of waiting and a lot of headache and we are back at square one. This warranty is a scam. Don't look at all the high star reviews they have to be fake. Customer service is rude and not helpful as well. Save your money and steer clear of this company.

My hot water heater "exploded" on a Saturday. Six days later I'm still told a provider in my area can't be found. Reimbursement will only be $300. Several times I was told "If we can't fix it we'll replace it." That doesn't even begin to replace a hot water heater and then there's installation expense. Is it even legal to sell something you "don't have"? Not at all impressed this time.

My microwave oven door latch broke. I filed my claim and in minimal time I had an appointment for a service call. The tech was on time friendly and was able to repair the microwave oven. This warranty saved me hundreds in replacement cost. As an owner of a new house I would recommend getting a homeowner's warranty before the builder's warranty runs out.

Did not receive full costs of replacement, apparently due to age of system. I had originally understood I was to receive full replacement reimbursement. Later experiences have been satisfactory, including washing machine replacement and icemaker replacement in refrigerator. I received a new washing machine; however, it was not the quality of my original machine. The company has been prompt in responding to my calls for service.

Updated on 11/03/2018: Alexia contacted me today to rectify the situation. She said unfortunately the company is still in the process of notifying their customers there was a change in contract bylaws in which the deductible is paid upfront. That’s because they get your money give you an appointment in which is BOGUS!!! The service company said they don’t have any appointments for a week being the 13th of November instead of 7th.
I called to see if they had another company. The supervisor Nate doesn’t have that type of information available. He doesn't have the extension number of Alexia that called me this morning. He can request dispatch (again none available) to see if they have another service company. (He doesn’t have that information either.) It takes a few days for dispatch to get back to me so a new service company would probably not get out to service the refrigerator until the following week (the 13th or so again). Why am I paying this company every month for a service contract they CAN'T SERVICE? That’s why they demand the deductible paid upfront because their service is SO SLOW. Once again a HUGE disappointment in the integrity of this company!
I'M RETHINKING HAVING THIS CONTRACT. I'M THROWING MONEY AWAY EACH MONTH. Don’t waste your time talking to a supervisor because they give you the same answers: "I don’t have that type of information available to me", "I can only leave them a message", or "I think." I inquired about getting the name of another service company they have. He doesn’t have that information. I was going to call myself!! I asked if they would reimburse me the cost of another technician. Again I could submit the receipt for POSSIBLE reimbursement. Whatever. Next time I’ll do better checking the reputation of the company. FYI: Yes they did get back in a couple of days after writing my first complaint, however apparently that doesn’t help getting your appliance serviced. All she did was transfer me to service (FOR NOTHING).
Original Review: I have unfortunately attempted to utilize their services too. The first experience was regarding a plumbing issue in which the serve tech NEVER SHOWED!!! I’ve been attempting to obtain service on my refrigerator. However first you need to pay them BEFORE the technician comes out. When I explained my concern as my first experience turned out that the tech never showed it doesn’t matter. They changed the terms of the contract WITHOUT notifying the consumers. I asked for a supervisor. The reply was they don’t work at night. Asked for corporate number. They gave me the same number I just called. I am concerned with their business ethics. Beware.

I have in the past have had good response from the company, but now it seems my area where I live has been Red Line. The company does not service my MidWest City where I live. I do not appreciate getting a call from their dept, stating they will solve the problem with my hot water heater, and in reality the company cannot. I pay the fee each month and now they ask for the ded of $55 to be paid upfront which I have done. I would like someone in Corp office to assist with this problem.

I've used their services three times refrigerator, dishwasher, dryer. They answer the phone in a timely manner. And have recommended a qualified technician that has resolved the problem. The repairman has arrived probably and has reasonable product knowledge.

Updated on 12/04/2018: Had an issue with my electricity in my home. No lights in several time, called American Residential for service. They sent a technician out after some time and my home in danger of catching fire, after several attempts and calling the tech finally sent his diagnostic to the company after claiming they never got it, did not get a response for about two weeks with the issue being as serious as it was, only to be told they would only offer me a payout of 300.00, and the cost to fix the issue was 1,100 dollars, and was later told that it was because my home was over 10 years old. This was not in the contract when I first purchased the plan but they made every excuse not to pay the claim. Don't be fooled and pour a lot of your hard earned money into this company. You won't get the help, and don't be fooled by the good reviews. Those are the only ones they publish.
Original Review: I have paid for home warranty service for about 2 years, never filed a claim until Oct 23, 2018. My electrical system have an issue that's threatening to burn my home that I can't afford to pay. I filed a claim, paid 55.00 deductible with American Residential, contractor sent the diagnostic they requested. I called to check the status. They said they never received the contractor information but later admit they had, and that they sent my request to an adjuster and that he would call me the next day. Never got the call. Been calling back everyday twice on 24. Try 26 because of the nature of my issues with my home in jeopardy of burning because of the issue. Was told to expect a call in 25 minutes on Sat 27th. Never received it and they're still stalling and making excuses. Terrible company, how can I get help. My home is in danger of catching fire.

They ate very helpful and I am happy that I am using Amercian Residential Warranty especially when certain things in the house is expensive to get fix. I pay a fee every month and pay low fee for them to fix whatever I need fix.

The technician was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He explained that we were low on freon. He acted professionally. When it leaks out, refilling to a specific level is required. He chose to refill it. My son was home that day and described the whole exchange as very good service. Thanks.

This company doesn't even deserve one star. I contracted with this company in Nov 2017. Never made a claim. Made a claim a few weeks ago (Oct 2018) and they couldn't even find anyone in the area to service the home. Finally found someone weeks later. Finally got the problem diagnosed; however, then they would NOT cover a plumbing issue, saying I needed to have purchased the deluxe package, which was never even offered at the time of contracting.
Paid them for a full year coverage, over $600 dollars and now they are holding back for $110??? Called corp to ask if they would make a consideration, but they won't because their policy won't let them, even though I wasn't told I needed to purchase more coverage to be FULLY covered, thinking the Premiere package I purchased WAS the full coverage; even offered to add the coverage to my plan, if they would cover the toilet handle replacement this one time, and they basically told me to eat it. NOT TO MENTION, I was on the phone for up to one hour to get to anyone who could tell me NO definitely not covering your issue. I own my own company and I have never treated a vendor or customer like this. Outrageous! The plumber even said he would never work with this company again. OMG the worst company EVER. Don't contract with this company, BIG MISTAKE.

Call to report problems. Have to wait 45 mins to hour. After FINALLY talking to agent somehow you get disconnected so have to start over. They have NO problem taking payments. My garage will not open and I keep getting the run-around saying claim Dept would call me but it's been 3 days and STILL NO call and now it's the weekend. IF they call it will be 6 days of waiting. What am I suppose to do? They say they would MAIL the Liftmaster to me after claim Dept will call so it's NOT 24hr service cause still waiting.
This is ridiculous! This is a rip-off and not professional! I need my garage fixed to get my car out. For this to be a business the calls are dropped and they will NOT call back so you have to start over and get a DIFFERENT agent then explain the problem. The policy has changed so you pay the warranty deductible to company not to provider before service is provided then hopefully they can find someone to do repairs if not you have paid for no service. This is NOT right.

My experience with American Residential Warranty has been awesome! They went above and beyond to resolve my dryer issue. They basically replaced my older non-working dryer with a new dryer. My blower wheel on my old dryer was on back order for over a month. This really was an inconvenience to me and my family. The Replacement Department stepped and sent me a new dryer for the inconvenience.

While I was canning great juice the disposal in the kitchen went out. Call American Warranty to file a claim. Very easy to do and within 72 hours a plumber was out installing the new disposal. I have used this service mostly in my kitchen is appliances tend to go out and break.

10/11/18 Called to file a claim for my leaking air conditioner. I paid them $55.00 fee over the phone. 10/12/18 called to see if job had been assigned. Was told paperwork was never sent over to the department that assigned jobs. Was transferred to this department and was told they didn’t have anyone servicing air conditioner in Tampa and that company in Ft. Lauderdale would be assigned. They gave me phone number and I called them (Best Servicers) and they said they didn’t work in Tampa. Called back AR and lady put me on hold while she called to verify with Best Servicers did not cover Tampa – she came back and told me she found someone in Tampa “Mel’s Appliances”. I told her it didn’t sound like they did air conditioning. She assured me they did.
I called Mel’s and they laughed at me. I called American Residential back and was put on hold while she called Mel’s. She came back online and told me someone would look into it on Monday. Meanwhile the air conditioning is leaking. I told this lady that American Residential had sent Comfort Central out for another problem with my air condition a few months ago and did a great job. She said they were not on the list of providers. Someone would call me back with contractor assigned.
That day I called Comfort Central in Tampa and they told me they still worked with American Residential but, until they were assigned they couldn’t come out unless I paid directly. I decided to pay them because I didn’t want the water leaking all weekend. Comfort Central come out after 5:00 p.m. on a Friday and fixed problem. Apparently there was a clogged drain. Problem solved. 10/12/18 I received an email from “noreply@servicepower at noon on Friday stating they would be out Tuesday Morning. I don’t check my emails and they promised they would call. They didn’t so I called American Residential on Monday to cancel Tuesday’s appointment.So now I’ve paid the $55.00 for a service call AR did not generate and $159 to fix the problem. I spent hours on the phone. I had exactly the same thing happen before. Customer Service Manager called me and expedited the refund. He promised a $60.00 discount on my next months billing. Didn’t get it.

Here at the corporate headquarters we have confirmed that the $60 credit promised by our manager has been applied to your account and you will see that reflected in your November payment.

My experience with them was pretty good. The person that they sent out had to order a part for my refrigerator which I thought was amazing because I didn’t think my refrigerator was worth repairing but he came back with the part and they also sent him back to fix the icemaker. I actually thought that I was going to replace my refrigerator. Great job.

Yesterday we contacted this company to help fix our water heating problem. The issues was that the water wouldn’t not stay hot after a few minutes of use. The tech came and his first question to us was “who’s paying for it?” We felt very uncomfortable by this and led us to believe we were in store for some issues. The tech did what he did and left without checking the water before he left. Since then we have not had hot water. They charged us $159 to troubleshoot the issue but only made things worse. After calling customer support they DID NOT HELP AT ALL. They insisted that the tech was a master and he knew what he was doing. All we wanted was to get our hot water back but they blamed the issue on us rather than trying to help.

When our food grinder broke we expected a long wait before American Warranty would replace it. We were pleasantly surprised when two days after we filed our claim with American, a technician was dispatched to our house and within an hour, a new grinder had been installed! I have used this company several times in response to electrical and refrigerator problems. They were timely and solved my problems quickly. If they could not resolve my problem, they replaced my damaged appliance which was an ice maker. My prior company did not replace ice makers so I was very pleased to find American Residential did.

Good company. Helps repair or replace appliances. Sometimes phone time is a little long. It is nice when they hold your place in line and call you back. Most times answer all of your questions. Can use your own contractors and will be reimbursed in at least 10 business days.

My experience with American Residential Warranty (ARW) has been absolutely terrible. I had signed up for their Premier Plus level insurance (the highest) roughly 4 months ago. They made several promises over the phone which happened to contradict the terms they set forth. Within that time, our A/C had begun to leak water and our refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. We have a Sub-Zero refrigerator which is about 15 years old and when we tried to file a claim we were told that they do not cover this brand of refrigerators nor do they cover appliances older than 10 years old. Not only was this information not shared with us, it does not say anything of the sort in the terms they'd sent us. They reluctantly sent a technician to take a look at the refrigerator. The technician decided that it needed more freon so he filled the freon.
This, however, did not solve the issue and we had to have a Sub-Zero technician come and take a look and he determined that too much freon was filled which ended up causing a leak and shorting out the evaporator coil. We had to have the coil replaced on the spot and the freon refilled which cost me $3000. I contacted ARW to inform them of the mistake by the technician they sent and they said they would look into it. In the meantime, we still needed to have the water leak issue with the A/C unit looked at for which they told us "we don't have any A/C technicians in our network that service that area" so we had to find our own technician and send them the invoice.
A week later we were told that they would not be doing anything about the refrigerator and would not be reimbursing us for anything. I immediately canceled the insurance as it's been such a waste of money. What good is an insurance company that doesn't have a large enough network to service the things they cover and also causes damage, forcing us to pay a significant amount of money, and does nothing about it? I would not recommend this company to anyone. There's better home insurance companies out there.

I was telling a lady about this company in WalMart, she said her sister have the same company and is very please with A. R. W. I ask her, "Are you thinking about this company," she reply she live in a SR. Living Center OK.

I first called and got a company to call for my dryer repair but when I called that number there was a recording saying that they opened at 5 pm. My Dryer stop working on the Weekend. The Warranty Company was fantastic in giving me the phone number to a repair company. I didn't care for the repairman that came out. They quickly got me in touch with another company. They were quick in response. Even though we had a little problem deciding to repair the dryer or replace it they walked me through it. This has been the worst experience ever!!! The workers are rude and unprofessional!!! My refrigerator has been out of commission a week TODAY!!! I’ve called to file a claim not once but twice, my problem is still not solved. I’ve called on THREE different occasions and always get, "the manager is unavailable, they will call you back," umph still haven’t received a call!! I am LIVID at this point. I guess the next step will be is to have my attorney contact them, this is RIDICULOUS!!! What’s the point of paying for this mess every month and they can’t give you the help you need when a problem arises? Can anybody explain this to me?

We went through a severe storm one night and my power went out. When I went down to check the breaker, it wouldn't come back on. So the next day I called American Residential Warranty and they got someone out to fix it within about 3 days. The guy came, saw what was wrong and fixed it -- easy breezy! My first review stated my frustration with customer service and both technicians regarding my request to repair my HVAC and washing machine. Later that day I did receive a call from two ARW managers. Both were very helpful and seemed concerned. I must say, I was impressed with the outcome of their call especially the one I received from ARW corporate office (Gavin - mgr). I believe he understood the issues and expedited a fair resolution.

It would take me an hour to express my frustration with American Residential Warranty. Customer service is terrible. Hours waiting for resolutions, being transferred to different areas multiple times with the same unresolved outcomes. The Technicians are the worst I have ever encountered (terrible attitudes, requesting cash for the visits, misdiagnosing problems, etc.). I would suggest those reading this to also review the comments of V of Phila, PA on September 7th, 2018 and Emily of San Marco, CA. I would be duplicating my experiences if I were to continue at this point. Warning!!! Don't go through the same aggravation. If not your first request, ultimately the same will happen to you.

Unfortunately things happen in life so you purchase warranty plans as a security blanket...best to have and not need them to need and not have. With that said 2018 has been a crazy year for my household. First our dryer and stove went bad so we had to file a claim which turned out to be a disaster because of the back and forth with the service repair company the warranty company gave us. After all the back and forth we did received a call from the warranty customer service manager (Gavin) who worked with us to right the situation. Ok fast forward two months later our Refrigerator went bad in the middle of a heatwave. Once again called the warranty company to file a claim.
Once again they gave us the previous repair company that never called us back after several calls. We reached out to the company manager who assisted us previously to inform him of our frustration with calling the same service company who never had the decency to return our phone calls to set up a service date. Finally the manager called us back and gave us a different service company who could not get to us until a few days later. The company came out and said it was the fan that broke so they replaced it. The refrigerator worked for approximately a week and then died again. Once again we called the warranty company to let them know and they advised they would look into the matter. Once again and two three weeks later we are getting the back and forth from the warranty company.
Their policy is to repair or replace which is totally false and misleading because our refrigerator has been repaired and a week later it was not working so at this point they should be looking to replace it per their policy. After repeated follow up calls trying to get in touch with management James from the warranty company finally called us back and gave us an excuse for taking so long to get back to us. He said they were trying to get a copy of the repair invoice from the service company but was unsuccessful because the repair person took the repair invoices on vacation with him which sounds like a complete sack of bologna.
Long story short DO NOT purchase a home warranty service contract from this company. They DO NOT honor their policy and will send you into complete distress. There are plenty of other warranty companies out there that will honor their commitment and value their customers. We are pissed customers at this point and still waiting for a manager who can make a discussion to once again right this wrong situation.
It has been three weeks with no refrigeration during a heat wave plus we lost a lot of food because the refrigerator went out again after being repaired by their service company during the Labor Day holiday weekend which we were supposed to be hosting a family barbecue that could not happen because we had to throw out all of our food. To this day it is costing us a pretty penny to eat out for a family of four for breakfasts, lunch and dinner so we are PISSED customers to the highest degree to put it lightly!!! Steer clear of American Residential Home Warranty Company.

When I place a call for service, I get an immediate response from the provider. I was really surprise that my claim was handled in such a quick manner. Requested an AC service to my home. Paid the $55 deductible and then waited 3 days for no one to call me back. Called them to back to say that I'll use my own service provider since they were taking so long and they said that they would waive my $55 deductible and they would reimbursement the service amount (after they had approved the work). Had paperwork approved and submitted mid July. It's now close to mid-September and I have yet to receive any reimbursement. I have emailed and called a supervisor (Bridget **) 5 times.
Total, I've spent about 6 hrs so far on emails and phone calls trying to track down the reimbursement. Not the end of the world but just thought others should know that this company is slow and needs prodding. They've so far assured me that my money is "in the mail" so if all things go well, then I'd say this company is a C. If I don't receive it, then they'll get an F. =)

Oven would not heat, American Residential was contracted and service rep responded. After determining that the oven could not be repaired, American Residential make arrangements with Lowes to replace the over the range Microwave Oven. New oven was installed and old oven was hauled away.

I was very pleased with the service I received. The timeline was very good and my washer is working very well. The gentleman that came was very nice. He was detailed in what I needed to get it working and how long it would take for the part to come in. I was called back when he was to return. Very pleased with 3 Boys.

My brother recommended American Residential to me at least 3 or 4 years. I was about to cancel 8 mo. later then my Refrigerator & Ice Maker stop worker. I had just had knee replacement surgery, so I needed Ice desperately, so I expressed The urgency of the situation to The claims representative they deployed Sears. Within 3 days not only did they fix the problem, they also defrosted my ice maker and installed a new motor in the water dispenser which was about to malfunction. I was extremely please with their work, response time and professionalism. I high recommend ARW to my friends and have referred, several of my friends to them and they have sign up. I'm a platinum member and I cannot afford getting a new appliance or even costly repairs for them as well, I sleep with confidence and soundly, knowing I'm protected by ARW.

Washer not working properly. Scheduled appointment and had my Mother come to home for service. The time from for service was excessive. Most companies give 4 hour block - My mother was there for 5 hours and then we had to rescheduled because no one to be there for at least another hour. Service came and accessed the problems - It took the office several days after service to offer replacement of repair.

When calling and speaking to customer service representative they were eager to assist and address the process of the issue. They informed me of the nature and what was the procedure to process the claim. I follow up in a few days and customer service representative proceeded to have a washer delivered to my home.

My overall experience with my warranty has been satisfactory, but the only thing is that I feel like when we call I stay on hold entirely too long. One time I stayed on hold for over 45 min. Other than that just make sure the people they are sending out service our area as well.

I was very pleased with the service on my washing machine. When it was determined it couldn’t be repaired I was given an allowance to purchase a new machine. My washing machine was quite old and I was very happy to have help replacing it, as we all know new appliances are not cheap.

This was my first experience with this company. I have had American home Shield for many years. Due to many problems with that company I had been shopping around and shows American Residential due to their good reviews. My thermostat in my home was broken and initially and service provider and they gave me did not cover in my area. I called back and they said they would have to research and see if they could find someone for me to use. Two days later they informed me that they had no provider that they contracted with in my area and that I could contact your provider of my choice and have the repair done out of pocket after which they would reimburse me.
The whole thing was somewhat confusing but I spoke with a lovely young man, Eric **, who gave me his direct contact information. This man was extremely helpful with me on each occasion that I called. I had the repair done and the thermostat was fixed. I sent them a copy of the bill and again waiting to hear back but did not after several days. Once again when I called Mr. ** he assisted me immediately and made sure that I was reimbursed as promised. I was not very happy that there was no service provider in my area as I do not live in a rural or remote location. The customer service that I received from Mr. ** was exceptional and it is for this reason that I was left being satisfied with my experience. I should not have had to pay anything beyond that my service fee out of pocket however seeing as how I am being reimbursed I am satisfied.

I had a dryer that motor was bad, they replaced it. I was very satisfied, it just took me a while to get it. Had to call 3 times. Last time I called, I said let me speak to your supervisor, only reason I got results.

I called them and ask them what day did they have open in the morning the day I took and I asked them to give me a call when he was on the way and he did here and said the name of the company he was with and took care of it and I was very satisfied.

They fix it right away, I truly was happy about my ice machine because it’s too hot to be without ice, I have 9 people in my house 7 are kids they take all the ice. I could have kissed the man when he fixed my ice maker, very courteous people, I would recommend them to anyone.

Service was good and polite people. Sears was very accommodating. The people at American warranty were very professional and Sears were very helpful. As my husband is sick and I need the dryer every day, they really did their best at getting out to fix it.

Washer service and replacement was done in a timely fashion! Great Service! Service personnel did a great job! We did not know what to expect! However we were overall pleased with the service and performance. The service person came out and the unit has a part that could not be replaced, the service dept called back and stated they would need to replace the unit!

I am very disappointed with the service this company providing. After I call with the issue I have with my refrigerator, they gave me my claim number and assigned to some local repair shop. Technician came to determine the problem, and told me will submit report to American Residential Warranty for approval. Week later nothing happen. I called to American Residential Warranty to get the status of my claim, and they referred me back to local repair shop. Finally, after spending hours on the phone, most of the time on hold, American Residential Warranty told me my case now with adjuster. There is impossible to get him on the phone to get status update.
Finally, after being 35 minute on hold, adjuster came on line and told me the issue with my refrigerator is improper operation and they do not cover this. I explained that technician showed to me the issue with rubber sealer, so now they have to again contact technician for clarification. I already spend close to $500 on coverage, just to order. Regular repair would cost me much less. This service is complete ripoff.

Placed service request on 07-23. Still do not have a washer. First company, ATR Electronics, scheduled and rescheduled 3 different times providing excuses (computer deleted my appointment, water pump on truck broke and then 3rd time just never showed). Called service again while on the phone with a nice gal. She put me on hold, called Sears and returned to the line providing me with the date and time Sears would be out.
Sears came 08-09 and left a note at the front home “sorry we missed you”. I’ve told everyone every time “rear Home”!! Today Sears makes it to my door, nice guy BUT when he looks at his computer it says “collect call” stating they never received a service ticket from ARW!! Called ARW while the tech was here and explained all. Got transferred and informed that because it’s a Saturday, the dispatch department at Sears is closed So there is nothing she can do. I’m instructed to call again on Monday and told to speak to an adjuster!! What about the service tech? Well I was informed to pay him and that I would be reimbursed! Wow do you think I have any faith in that statement? NOT! Guess I’m going elsewhere to do my laundry! Grrrrrrr.

Me using American Residential Warranty was convenient for me. They were always on time, phone wise and physical. American Warranty made sure that my problem was solved. They would not leave my premises until the problem was fixed. I've been with American Warranty for several years and I have nothing negative to say about them. All I can say is job well done. I have referred American Warranty to several of my friends and family members. If you want good service go with American Warranty. They won't fail you...

I had a plumbing issue over the weekend. First of all they don't have any emergency weekend plumbing contractors. Second of all the contractors I was referred to does work for American Residential Warranty and they still had the contractor on their list. After he called me back to tell me he don't work for them anymore, anytime I called for a new contractor I was given the same person. No one ever tried to call me back to follow up to see if I resolved the issue or help me locate a contractor.
I had to find one myself and pay out of pocket, after I called to get reimburse I was put on hold for 30 mins then when I hung up and called back they was closed. The representative told me to hold and never came back. Obviously she knew it was closing time and didn't want to handle my call. I'm very dissatisfied and want to cancel my account ASAP. Never would I recommend American Residential Warranty to anyone. Bad customer service and no good resource for plumbing.
