My system stopped working for about a year. I continued, not knowing that, to pay them for about 8 months more. I called ADT in April 2025 to cancel subscription. The man on phone argued for about half hour, initially refusing to cancel and trying to upsell me. Finally he agreed. Following month, I get billed for an upsell and account was not cancelled. I called ADT back, furious and spoke to a woman. She looked at all notes and phone logs and confirmed I had indeed demanded to cancel and never agreed to an upsell on a broken system. She told me she would zero out the account and close it.
Today, I get a bill. The account is closed finally, but apparently they now want LATE FEES for the period after I initially cancelled and they continued billing for upsell service. I have no idea who to turn to at this point as they are going to go to collection on a bogus bill, but I refuse to pay fake charges. Do NOT agree to any contract with ADT. They are used car salesmen at best and they were unaware that my system was broken for the prior year! They are supposed to be 'pinging' it and calling you if there is an issue, but they DO NOT.

In June 2026 to avoid a cancellation fee on my account I agreed to move ADT with me to my new address. They said they would need to cancel my old contract, but due to signing a new one the cancellation fee would be waived. After the new system was installed I received an email notifying me that the amount I would have paid for cancelling was due. I called to inquire about this and ADT once again reassured me that I would not have to pay the fee, they said the system would realize the issue and cancel the transaction on its own. Yet, the following weekend on 7/8 the requested $492.46 was charged to my account. I requested my first refund on 7/9 and was told it would take 7-10 days. After the 10th day I was concerned, but sure there must have been a hiccup in the system and continued to wait for my refund.
A month later I was fed up with waiting and on 8/8 I called to ask about my refund. To my surprise, I was informed that the refund was filed incorrectly and had been denied. I was given no notice of this until I made the effort to call. I was assured once again that the refund, now filed correctly, would be in my account in 7-10 days. I was frustrated at the prolonging, but obliged. 10 days later on 8/18 I call back as I have not yet received my refund and discover that the refund has once again been filed incorrectly. I have now been waiting nearly 2 months for a refund on something I was promised to not be charged on. And my only assurance is the promise of 7-10 days, which has already been broken twice over.

Worst security company to do business with. Their contracts are not well explained and trap you into longterm deals that are near impossible to get out of. ADT also doesn't service equipment and/or it is difficult to get service; 3rd parties sometimes are there but again, hard to find.

If you want their services you are probably happy but just TRY to cancel with these fraudsters. I am well beyond my 3 year contract and have been trying to cancel of 6 months. I have called in several times and waited HOURS getting shuffled around to cancel then am mysteriously disconnected - how convenient! I have disputed the charges on card several times telling them I have canceled. I returned the billing statement with a note to cancel immediately and stop sending me bills. Now they finally got ahold of my wife and threatened to send her to collections if we don't pay. Our nickname for them is the Herpes company - once you get them you will never get rid of them.

We have been loyal customers for 5 years now. At first, ADT was great and treated us well. We switched internet providers, and that's when it fell apart. Our system wouldn't connect to the new internet providers. ADT told us how to "fix" it and said if it didn't work, to let them know, and a tech would come out. I called them, and no tech came. I called to cancel and they stated "you are under contract and breaking the contract would cost you $500.00." Our equipment was paid off and no contract was signed. I called again, no tech, no canceled service, still charged $80.00 a month. This has become a problem at this point. I called yesterday, "you have to call back tomorrow because we have no one in that department."
I called this morning. They tried everything to keep us as a customer but I kept saying no! They even took money out of our account to pay for something we can't even use! So I asked for a refund. They stated they have to allow 30 days for our system to be out of service and that they could not refund it. Asked for a supervisor, "we don't have one". I'm not dumb, there is one there! They then stated the "supervisor" would be able to call me back by the end of the day. Not happening, I have yet spoke to a supervisor, have yet to get refunded, and have not been able to use my equipment in over 6 months! I will be calling again everyday if needed, and will not be using ADT again!!!! Pictures are what our system has looked like since changing internet companies.

I had ADT before and there were ADT sensors on my windows. We also kept having people come to the door at all hours. One guy came at 10 o'clock at night holding a Target bag. My mom was gonna open the door, but I caught him. It was some weirdo guy. People had knocked on the door, but ever since we got ADT and they see the sign and the cameras, not one person has come to the door for soliciting. They avoid our house completely, which I love. They don't even knock on the door anymore. If they do come, they're out of camera range, and then I know that they're not legit.
I give ADT’s home security service an A. They know absolutely what they're doing step-by-step. The guy came and hooked up my phone. He did the cameras right, too. Unfortunately, I started playing around with my phone and messed it up. They fixed it but I messed it up again. We had a call and they fixed it again. Also, every time the alarm goes off, they call right away. They make sure it's all great. I'm probably gonna add a camera in the backyard by the pool and put in smoke detectors later.

We were old clients from a long time ago, but we have a new contract that has been with us for six months. Getting in contact with the representative, the sales, and installation were all very easy. The installer was amazing and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. For my brother, whom I referred based from my experience, it was a little bit harder case. It looked like he was busy getting phone calls all the time. But he is okay now.
The system is great, and that was why we came back to ADT with the new system and technology they have. We switched to Xfinity in between, but it is nothing compared to ADT system. The system is very high in sophistication, and I love it. I have two pads, the main one downstairs and one upstairs. I like the feature where if somebody arms or disarms the system, it takes the picture of the person who did that downstairs. So, it is a nice addition to the system. Any time I have a question, I call customer service and they answer my questions and they tell me how to do this or that. So far, it has been great experience.

My dad already had an alarm system in his house, but it hadn't been activated, but when someone opened the door, it kept going off. When he got sick, and was hospitalized, it was broken into twice. When he passed away, I wanted to put cameras there ‘cause I live in a different state and I wanted to make sure I had control over what was going on there, so I called ADT. I didn’t know it was gonna cost $4000, but it’s what I had to do. I like that when something is going on, the thing just buzzes like I was just around the corner, and I can even talk through the cameras. I wish I had gotten ADT when my father was sick, then I would’ve known he wasn’t doing well, and I could’ve been on top of it.
Just recently, two people broke into the house and the alarm went off. I said, "Sir, the police are on their way.” But the guy just kept grabbing what he could. The woman went out the front door looking back and the thing snapped her picture. I was disappointed that they got away ‘cause the police didn’t get there on time but I’ve got pictures and I will find out who these people are. So, I'm still thankful I have the system and I really appreciate it.

ADT has been good. Irwin is the one that I'm used to seeing come out. He's been excellent. Very accommodating, very understanding, what the needs were and all.
I had one mishap. The door from the garage to the house was not closed tight enough. It was locked, but it wasn't closed to where it clicked. It was windy one night and I had my phone turned down, and ADT was trying to call, and the police had to come out. They just wanted to know if this was right. I said, “Yeah, it probably came open.”
But that was the only thing. So far, I don't have any complaints. I'm just hoping that the battery on the iPad continues to be all right. I had to get it replaced when I first got the service, because it could have a lot of shelf life, and it was put into my iPad and had to change. But other than that, it's been good. We like the alerts. It’s a little bit loud.
I just wish I had a smoke alarm. I had already, because it's a brand-new home, so I already had the smoke alarm detectors in. And then I guess I was not bright. The guy said, “Well, it would be good for you to have them.” Well, I already had them.
So, they put them in. What I did have, I had them just deactivated. Irwin said, “I'm not gonna take them down, because you never know. You might wanna change your mind.” So he just kept them up in case I wanted to do it again. Because, of course, I know that that alerts the fire company straight. But I could walk to the fire station. That's how close it is.
Thr cameras are working. I have cameras front and back and I check them periodically. I'm pleased because everything's working. I've had ADT for two years, going on three.

Have ADT in 1st home. This for #2 home. Never told "dog must be contained". Not by Sales rep or prior installer. 1st time dog was fine. Sales rep played with dog. No rules. TOTAL BLINDSIDED. CANCELED!!

We needed a company that did both fire and burglary, and ADT was one of the few companies that did it. The installation took only an hour. They are expensive but satisfactory.

The other day, when I thought I had locked the door and the alarm was on, a person that was painting went in and the door wasn't shut tight. ADT called, and they straightened it out. Also most of the time, I turn the alarm off as soon as I get up. But one morning, I forgot. I went out to feed the birds and the alarm went off, so I ran over to turn it off. ADT called me and I said, "Well, at least we know it's working." Customer service is excellent. I am very pleased with ADT.

ADT is a good service. I’ve been with them for many years. It’s not difficult communicating with them. The system is something that everybody needs. If I got the system set and anybody comes to the door, it will take a picture of them. I can look at my phone and see who it is. If there's something happening, I can see it on my phone. There’s nothing better.

I don’t live in the house where the system is. With ADT, I am always able to check the door cam, unarm the alarm, and let my kids and friends come down there. It’s been very good. I’m satisfied 100% with my equipment. The installers did what they needed to do and gave me instruction. One time, the alarm went off because one of the bedroom windows was faulty. The lady I talked to was amazing. She talked to me through fixing it and taking it off. We changed the battery. She knew exactly what she was doing.

I've been with ADT for a number of years and I'm very satisfied with their service. It was very pleasant and successful. On a few times I've had problems, they've been resolved quickly. I had ADT for almost a year and it has been good. Installing the system was fantastic. It works perfectly and is easy to operate.
We talked to them a couple of times because at first, we were having little issues with the system connecting to everything. We had a guy come out and he repositioned it into the hallway. That way, it connected to all of the sensors. Since then, we haven't had a bit of a problem. Another time was when I set the smoke alarm off. ADT called and everything was fine.

We've had ADT for over 20 years. It's been a very good experience. When I've called with concerns, they've taken care of it. They've always helped to keep our monitoring fees very reasonable. Everything's always been a very positive experience with them.
Interacting with the representatives has been good. Everyone's always very helpful. They know their product, and what they can and can't do. They put me in touch with someone who can handle it if they feel they can't.
My favorite is being able to activate or deactivate the system using the app or to be able to check to make sure you've turned the system on, or to be able to check videos from the monitoring.

ADT has very well-mannered and patient customer service representatives who know how to deal with us seniors. The rep directed me and let me know everything that was going on and how to get my system installed. She set up with a representative to come out to do the setting up. The tech was very friendly. But there was some misguided information that I wasn't aware of with the installation and the way it was set up.
The tech just thought that I was aware of the pricing of the equipment, which I wasn't. I was just selecting stuff, without knowing how much the equipment was gonna cost. Nobody ever told me the pricing until I went back, and the representative explained everything to me. But then I was stuck with a $2,000 bill on a fixed income. If he had told me that I was eligible for any discount, I would have gone under my name. I went up under my husband's name instead because he was the one working at that time. So, I didn't get any discount for anything.
After the misunderstanding about the bill and everything went down, the representative set me up with a monthly fee that I could afford. I like the services. If I have any problems, all I do is call, and I don't have to wait for anybody to come out. They're able to connect to my phone and help me with anything that I have any problems with. The online services are excellent. The pricing is costly, but it's right in the price range with everything else. I am very satisfied with the system that I have. It’s excellent and easy to use, and I love it.

I was with Protection 1, and then ADT bought them out. And ADT seems to be responsive whenever I need something. And occasionally, when I’ve had to call the 800 number, they seemed to be informative and took care of me. I find them a little expensive, but everything’s getting crazy right now anyway. So, I don’t like the price that keeps going up like everything. It’s 150, 160 bucks every three months, and it’s not cheap anymore. That would be my only complaint. But other than that, they do a pretty good job.

We got ADT because my father-in-law has Alzheimer's and dementia, and we’re always concerned about him opening doors at odd hours of the night to step outside, and we needed to keep him safe. That was one of our biggest selling points. For the most part, it works fairly well until the batteries need to be changed out. Sometimes resetting the system doesn't reset it completely like it should. When I remove the batteries, and I don't wait long enough, the system keeps showing an error. That's the only complaint I have. I like that when a door or window is open, it notifies me, so I know what to look for and figure out what's happening at the moment. I definitely feel good for myself and my wife because we have peace of mind. We live in a safe neighborhood, and having ADT on top of that doubles the complement of safety.

I was a truck driver and was gone a lot, so I wanted security for my wife. ADT was basically the only security company where I live in Tennessee. I’ve had them since 2007. I called them, and they set up an appointment to come to the house to talk to me about it. There were always friendly. A technician came in and drilled and put everything in. He did a fantastic job and cleaned up. Later, they had to put in a new motherboard at no charge because it was an upgrade.
The alarm went off once, but it wasn’t going back to the thing. I called them up, and they stayed right there on the phone with me. We went through it to make sure everything was fixed back the way it’s supposed to be. They were efficient and thoroughly knowledgeable. There’s only been a time or two in 20 years that they didn’t call me when the alarm went off. I wish the price was a little cheaper because I’m now disabled and on fixed income. But for the security that it still gives us, the price pays for the self-assurance.

The ADT setup was very good. One of the neighbors recommended the company, and we did our research on it. It seemed to be a pretty obvious choice for a security system since we’re able to have recordings. When we needed to reset our cameras, the woman that we talked to was very helpful.
We’re having a little issue with our front doorbell camera now. We had to order a tech. They said that it’s a battery issue, and I told them it shouldn’t be a battery issue because it’s hardwired into the house. That’s a little confusing, and I’m trying to figure out what’s the best way to handle that. But overall, the experience has been fine.

We’ve actually had ADT for years now, and I’m still with them. They’re very good at what they do, and whenever I call, they answer the phone and try to assist me right then if they can. If not, they do their best to accommodate me. I have set the alarm off a few times, and I like the response time. It’s always right on time for me.

It's not complicated to use ADT. I don’t use all of the functions that the system has, but it’s been good. I don’t have any problems with them. I had the battery go out once. I called them and told them what was going on. I had to pay for the battery, and they sent it. My daughter came over and put the battery in for me. It’s been running since then. I feel safe having the alarm, knowing that if I leave my house and I’m gonna be gone for a while, I’ll come home and it’s safe for me to enter my house. To me, that is good, that you don’t have to worry about someone being in your house.

ADT has the cheapest and the best service for me, and as far as security, I feel very secure with it. I’ve been protected for at least three years, and my experience with them has been perfect. My favorite feature is the remote access, and I’ve had no trouble using it. Their representatives made me feel like I was important and that I mattered, and they fixed my problem.

When the ADT installer came, I was confused with some of the things he installed into the system. As far as the zones of my home, they're off. So, when I called ADT to verify certain zones that went off on alarm, they were all backwards. I’m not even sure if I have battery backup. They said it's all included in the system, but it doesn’t seem right ‘cause when the power goes out, that goes out, so it leaves my system dead in the water. The thing I’m most disappointed about is the camera system ADT gave me sucks because every time someone comes to my door, it takes forever for my sensor alarm to kick in. By that time, that person has walked away, and I never got a chance to talk to him, so that bites big time. And when I called to ask how to avoid that or how to correct it, their answers didn't help at all.

I’ve been with ADT for six months, I chose it because of its brand name, and the service has been great. Customer support has been good, I'd give them a thumbs up. When the alarm goes off, they call and ask me for my name and passcode to confirm that it's me. And they've sent out officers in the past when the alarm went off, so kudos to them on that too.

I have been with ADT for about a year now. I was with another security company and they were horrible. The other company has better equipment than ADT, but it doesn't work half the time. So what’s the sense of having a better-looking equipment or equipment that supposedly has better features, but doesn't work half the time? ADT is reliable. Google monitors is my favorite feature.
I’ve had excellent communication and customer service with ADT so far. However two weeks ago I had a signal that said my battery was dying. Their batteries are supposed to last three to five years. I had to buy a new battery, and come to find out, I didn't need the new battery, because once I unplugged the system and plugged it back in, it started working correctly. I would have preferred, in that case, that they did a little more troubleshooting rather than put the customer through the hassle of purchasing a battery that they don't need, or even having to consider changing a battery that a customer is not necessarily skilled to do.
When I turn it on, it's on. When I turn it off, it's off. And I can see out of all of the cameras. I just wish that they would improve their equipment. But old and trusty, it's working.

When I first moved in to my house, an ADT rep came to the door and offered to install the security system. Afterwards, they came to install the cameras and stuff. They were on time and left when they finished. I would rate their system a 10 since it’s pretty good. I like the cameras most. Their customer service has been really good every single time. I would recommend my friends to get it since it's a great system.

I've been with ADT for almost 40 years and they've never given me a reason to leave. I've never had to use it, but I'm hoping that if something were to happen, they would make sure the police got here promptly if I needed them. Years ago, it went off accidentally and the police did come. ADT let us know that if we had more than a certain number of false calls, we had to pay for them. But in general, it's been good. I love the system.

I’ve been with ADT going on 11 years. I have two services with them, and I have mixed emotions. One service works pretty well, while the other doesn’t work well at all. In Prince George’s County, it works very, very well for me. But in Suffolk, I’ve had to go round and round with them. They’ve worked out a solution to keep me quiet, but I haven’t forgotten what I went through in the first five years. Overall, I’ve gotten respectful and professional customer care, and their response to my concerns were high quality. I haven’t met anyone who was not knowledgeable, professional, and concerned.
One time, my mom set off the alarm, and I forgot about it. I don’t take calls that don’t have names. A call came and kept coming, and I kept sending it to voicemail. When I pulled into my house, the police were sitting in my driveway. They said they were responding to the alarm ‘cause ADT had called them. Now I feel confident when I put my alarm on that it’s gonna give me enough time to defend myself and that someone’s watching and listening.
I’m actually a security officer, and I have a security company, so I’m on high alert all of the time. I feel very secure with ADT. I recommend them to everybody who gets a new home. In fact, I recommended it to my daughter when she bought her first home. And when she bought her second home, she immediately transferred her ADT there. I also got ADT for my second home.

We’re happy with ADT. And we ended up with them because the company we were with was taken over by ADT. So, ADT just upgraded our equipment, and we have no problem with our service with them. If we’ve called because something has gone out, like a battery, then they’ve always helped us figure that out. They’ve always been helpful when we’ve called. And their price is fine. It’s comparable to the other systems that I’ve had.

I just bought my house in May. Even though security system was already there with Xfinity, I still went with ADT for security. It was really easy contacting their reps. I just picked up the phone, called, and they answered and got right on it. They were even able to tell me what third party I was with which is very important because a lot of these companies are contracting out and you don’t know who you’re contracting to. ADT seems to know who they’re contracting out to which is very important as well.
I looked up ADT and and they said it was free installation. They put me through a third party who came out and installed everything. However, I didn’t catch that $75 was gonna come out, plus the $75 to do the service. So, it was a hundred and something dollars at one time and I wasn’t expecting that. There was so much going on because they were still trying to sell me even though I’m the one who called them. But at the end of the day, when I explained it to ADT, they got ahold of the third party, which got ahold of me. They were sorry and ended up giving me a check for the $75 for the inconvenience.
I haven’t really been able to utilize the full functionality, but I enjoy it because they notify my phone when someone’s coming in and out the doors. That way, I know if kids are coming in and out ‘cause I’m upstairs and I got teenagers and college kids. We haven’t all not been home, so I haven’t set the alarm. Another reason why I have it is because I have two medical children in my house. One is completely deaf, and one has type 1 diabetes. So, I got it for that reason too.
I had a couple of favorite features like the digital panel that you can walk up to to see the temperature, what’s going on outside, the date and the time. I also like that they notify my phone whenever somebody drops the package because when I say I am the Amazon queen, I am the Amazon queen. I also get the alerts that tell me that the package has been seen or the package’s no longer being seen. Because one time, I said that I have ADT and if I have to go back on my recording, I’m letting them know I did not get the package. That really came in handy.
ADT was always your go-to for security, but everybody was going crazy during COVID, and ADT would send out the stuff where you had to install it yourself, so they sizzled out. People can’t do that. I wouldn’t recommend them then because that was hard even for me. I didn’t feel comfortable installing. I just went and bought that little light bulb that you screw in and hook to your Wi-Fi. So, I’m glad ADT went back to coming out and installing.
Now, I would tell my family they need to get ADT and it’s worth it because they monitor everything. I’m a single mom with kids. I do have a couple of Terriers, but they’re little dogs. And I really don’t wanna use a gun. With ADT, I feel more safe. If anything happens, they can give me that footage and it will be better. It’s also not that expensive to me. It’s less than a phone bill or a car.

My review would have been higher if I didn’t get harassed by ADT’s Customer Service when cancelling my service. I originally got ADT when I bought my home and I was offered free installation & a discount on the equipment, however when I looked at what I was paying for, the installation was not free and the equipment was not free. They even told me my monthly bill would be 1 thing & they started charging my monthly bill at a different rate. The Customer Service is terrible when cancelling as they harass you and talk crap on other providers! Terrible business practices, the camera footage sucks, and the recording time sucks! Never will I ever use them again!!

After over 20 years with this company, I was shocked by the way I was treated. The cancellation process is a nightmare—despite following all the steps, I was still charged for services after canceling. When I spoke with a supervisor to resolve the issue, they lied and claimed my refund had been processed, which was completely false. After two decades of loyalty, receiving this kind of dismissive and dishonest treatment is completely unacceptable.

My mom is on a fixed income, was receiving subpar service in the first place from ADT, for them to turn around and charge her almost $300 two months in a row. You guys need to do better, you all just as bad as any other criminal. Then, had the nerve to FINALLY submit ONE of the payments, attached to a letter stating, "Dear Valued Customer," what a joke. There was absolutely zero value exhibited here. Do not allow them to play with your loved ones!!

I spent hours on the phone with ADT account management to resolve billing issues and upgrading equipment. I was passed from department to department multiple times and had to repeat my story everything. I spent nearly two hours on the phone with them the last two days with no resolution. I cancelled my service... and was eligible for free upgrade equipment. It was not worth the trouble to me to support their poor service. I recommend staying away from this company.

In May 2025 my dog got out and set off the alarm. ADT called me and I told them it was a false alarm, and that they should not send the police. They agreed. Later, I got a bill from the police. I called ADT and they found my record and said that this was their mistake and I should pay the bill and ADT would reimburse me. I paid the police bill, but when I asked for reimbursement, they refused. They said that I told them to call the police even though their own report said that I didn't. Very dishonest.

Do not deal with this company. We needed to have a sensor replaced on our existing garage door alarm. When the technician arrived he informed us that he could not replace the sensor as it was an older system and that we needed to replace the whole system. I was not home at the time and my wife simply said ok. Well the new system system was $4,000, is very complex to operate and the glass shatter alarm has never worked properly. If you try to call for help you get outsourced to the eastern hemisphere to a person who speaks very poor English. Bottom line I was talked into buying something I did not need and has never worked properly. My advice Don't ever buy this product because it gets zero stars.

Run as fast as you can away from this company. After promising free installation to transfer our contract when we moved, 1,500 later and more surprise charges, I am paying the cancellation fee rather than give them any more business. They are also continuing to charge me for my old address as well. It's been a nightmare and when you try to explain things they talk over you so you cannot explain the issue. I have had promises made, case number galore and I am done. They use to be the best around but greed has infected them too. Never again.

ATD isn’t worth the money. All they do is call 911 for you. We had them for 3 years bc they wouldn’t let us break our contract and they never fixed our alarm system. Contract is finally expired and they’re still charging us monthly. Every time I call to cancel they say they have no record of my account. I’ve been trying to cancel for four months now. I feel like this is crooked. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

This company just milks its customers to spend more on equipment that does not work. When you call for customer service you speak with AI and it will not transfer you to a live agent. The live agents are just as useless as AI. As soon as my contract is over I will never sign with them again. Go somewhere else.

The police button was accidentally hit on the system twice. After speaking to the company on the phone and saying it was a false alarm, the police still came out and I got billed. Also, I was promised a lifetime loyalty rate of $20 a month however the price went up. When I have tried to cancel, the company tries to Bill me $1,000 to purchase the equipment. They are a total scam.

“Misleading Sales, Broken Promises, and Useless Monitoring”. I’ve been an ADT customer for almost 5 years. When a salesman named Ben came to sign us up, he told us we were only under contract for the equipment, not the monitoring service. He said if we paid off the equipment, we could cancel without any fees. That was false.
On 08/07, I called to cancel after deciding to pay off the equipment — I even had a $40 credit from overpayment. That’s when I was told I was actually under a 5-year contract for BOTH the equipment and monitoring and would owe a cancellation fee based on the remainder of the contract. This was completely different from what I was told when I signed up. To make matters worse, today I see they now want me to pay another $97. I also chatted with an agent named Renee, who said she didn’t see my $40 credit. When I logged in — it was gone, too. That credit should have gone toward monitoring, but it disappeared.
I’ve been calling and chatting with ADT for over two weeks with no resolution. My account should be cancelled and I should have a credit owed back to me, not a new balance. Somehow, I owe more now than when I started this process. To anyone considering ADT — look elsewhere. You may end up stuck in a long contract with terms that change based on who you talk to. Even paying off the equipment doesn’t free you from monitoring fees. If you move, relocating your system is a headache. Getting a human on the phone is a headache.
And the monitoring itself? My alarm went off repeatedly all weekend and I never received a call. The only “service” I got was a video clip from one room. Completely pointless. If I didn’t have this balance owed I wouldn’t have put this review. It’s the fact they keep adding charges ever since I’ve cancelled or tried to cancel my service. Until ADT resolves this, this review will stay up. Right now, my advice is: stay far away.

ADT did a good job installing the system. They have handled the things exactly the way they should have handled it. They smartly combined resources with Google Home. My doorbell camera that I can operate through Google Home or ADT is fine. But they didn’t explain that Nest camera and Google Home don’t communicate with each other. Since ADT is a monitoring company, they need to understand the difference between alarm system service and providing alarm with 24/7 monitoring. On a homeowner’s insurance application, it talks about whether or not you have an alarm system. It’s not a representation, but a warranty. If you state that you have a system that is being monitored 24 hours, and you have the system but it isn’t being monitored, you can void your coverage.
Overall, I would recommend them. Their app does a good job of telling me every time there’s an error because it pops up on my phone. If I leave the back door open, ADT will tell me.

I was a customer for over 20 years and never late on a payment. The price kept going up to ultimately $75/month. They did not tell me that my older Honeywell equipment was no longer working at all. I didn't realize that it wasn't working until I got a battery notification for one of the smoke detectors and when I couldn't find a battery for it online, I called ADT and they said that ADT no longer supported the Honeywell parts - for the last two years. That meant I did not have protection for two years, but I paid the whole time. They offered no refund for the monthly payments. Then I had to pay over $1,000 to replace my entire system. And the price went up to $75/month because they said I needed to pay extra for the video monitoring.
When I could not afford that after losing my job, I called to cancel the service and they said they would put the monthly payment back to $25/month and that it should not have been put up to $75/month in the first place. After 6 months that "promotion" amount expired and the payment went back to $75/month. When I asked if I could have the $25/month rate, they said no. I finally cancelled the service and they sent me a bill for $13 that I was not expecting and with no explanation. I did not know what it was for and before I had time to call them that month - they sent that bill to collections. After technically one month late. It turns out that there was a remaining balance, which did not make sense and they explained it as a carry over from the day I cancelled, it added a few days to the bill. I had already paid in full that month. The representatives are all nice, but they are helpless. If you get a person, they are so sorry but there is nothing they can do.

And I've used ADT a couple of times in the past. And my insurance company had a deal with them, that's why I jumped on them.
ADT as a whole, from my point of view, is too expensive. It's not expensive for me now because my insurance company has worked out a deal. But I think that there are cheaper alternatives.
I like their service. Their customer service operation is very slick. They're very responsive. The one event that I had in the house, and the police got here before I did. And it was a false alarm, but they did the follow-up. They're conscientious.
I'm paying 25 bucks a month for the package, with monitoring. The installation package was free and came with door sensors and two motion sensors, a noise sensor and water sensors. It's good.

ADT is very prompt, courteous, professional, and responsive. I like how the system gives me comfort and peace of mind. We did have a motion sensor that I never really cared much for and the battery died on it. It tripped and we were sitting here in the house without anything armed. While I was trying to get the panel cut off, the phone rang and someone from ADT talked me through how to get that thing down, get the battery out, and get it canceled off the panel, which was a great help because it was making a terrible racket. My experience has been very positive and I've got no complaints.

ADT falsely renewed a contract and continued charging us monthly for a year despite us cancelling and calling back to confirm. I have been on a call for over 3 hours, transferred 10 times having to tell the story over and over. They will renew and charge without you knowing. I was a customer for over 17 years and the tenants in our property have it. I am going to support them changing given the absurd process I had to go through to get the money that is due to me.
I will not recommend ADT to anyone ever again. I feel that because it was a substantial amount of money that was due, they tried every instance to punt it to another representative. It also seems to be their tactic to wear you down with transfers. They tried to say they would refund 5 months when clearly it was 12 months of charges. Bottom line: make sure you only have one active contract with them and make sure you've signed it, and do not sign up for autopay. Sadly, I am still waiting to be transferred again 3 hours and 30 minutes and counting.

I had an interaction with a young man who instructed me on how to take the battery out, but I don’t know how to do it, and things got frustrating. Generally, they send a technician out. Eventually, we got through it, had a big laugh in the end, and finally got the issue solved.

I had ADT in my other house. It was fine. They did a reinstall from my other home. The installers were great. They knew what they were doing. They installed it, and explained everything. I've always had a good response if I needed them.
It's expensive, but I would tell others that I think it's a system that works well.

I’ve been with ADT for eight years. Well, we had a lot of problems when we sold our house and moved to this house. It was about the double bill. We got a $2,000 bill because we terminated our service, which we didn’t terminate. But they rectified it.
We moved from that house to this house and we couldn't set our system up. I talked to someone until we got the internet in our new house. Before we could even get it installed again, I got another bill for $1,600. So, I had to get a little nasty with them. Again, they rectified it.
My favorite feature is that we have sensors on the doors and cameras. It goes off when it needs to go off. And I’ve really not had a problem with speaking to their representatives. I would tell my friends that it works for us.

I've had ADT for at least 10 years. When I built my house, they had advertisements in the subdivision. The install was easy and simple. I updated to the Nest cameras, too. I have no issue getting through when I call and customer service has been excellent. It's a great experience.

I've had ADT for about three months now. My father-in-law has it, and my mom had it at their house before she passed. It just seems like a better plan. And they helped me with my homeowners insurance.
The installation process was simple and easy. They were nice and easy. Every time I've had to call or I had a question or my wife had a question, they've been there Johnny-o-the-spot to answer it.

I am enjoying ADT except the billing. I paid for every three months, February to April and May to July. We have just entered August, but they say that I owe something. Initially they told us that it’s going to be $63 per month, but I end up paying $67. I felt disappointed. I tried to contact ADT, but he’s not picking up my calls again. When I had an issue concerning the bills, he did not respond nor call. Everything else is good
The app is working well. I do my payments online. I am satisfied with the equipment they brought in, because it’s working well. ADT sold to us a part of the equipment for $1700. Now they tried to connect me to a bank to give me a loan, so I have to pull it out from my credit card. I hope after three years , if I want to disengage, they will not come back and take that equipment.

ADT has been around forever. When the salesman came to our door, we realized that it would be a good idea. We’re getting up there in age and we travel more. We’re not always home, so it would be a good idea to have something protecting our home.
Our favorite feature is that you can do it through your phone. The installer put the app on our phones. We also liked the salesman, but the installer was even better. He took the time to put it on the phone, set it up, and made sure we understood how it all worked.
He was excellent. I don’t know what ADT is paying him, but it’s not enough. He was very patient with us. We’re not very high-tech, so he made sure we understood and can run it. We like being able to do it on our phone. We do it all the time now.
Our sense of security is much better now. Even when we’re home at night, we turn it on and know that something’s gonna warn us if somebody breaks in. ADT has been great. We have no complaints with them. Everything works and the system is easy to use.

We’ve had the ADT system redone completely recently. We replaced all our windows with hurricane-proof windows. They went to a wireless connection and it works very well. I’m very happy with it. The technicians were terrific. They’re very polite and extremely helpful.
We installed the ADT system in 2023, but we updated it again when we finished the windows. We didn’t do all the windows back then but we did this May. They came back in the beginning of June and did the remaining six windows. The system is great.
ADT is very responsive. They’re always there if we have to make a call. The representatives are very polite. There’s been a couple of times where we’ve caused the alarms go off.
They ask us for our password so they know they’re talking to us and not somebody else. I just feel very comfortable. I wouldn’t change. That’s for sure.

We've seen ADT advertised and just asked around. Some people that had them were satisfied with them. I've been satisfied with their equipment and the service. If I have a problem, just call them up, and they're taking care of it. The camera used to go out every once in a while, but they fixed it with no issues. It takes a little while, but eventually they call you back.

I had ADT years ago, and then switched to another company. And that company really let me down. We had a robbery, and the footage was not recorded. And they told me I had to get a subpoena to get the recording to look at the video. And I thought that was absolutely crazy. I couldn’t understand why it didn't record.
I got ADT in November of last year, and it's been very reliable so far. I feel very secure. I like the ease of activating and doing everything remotely from my phone. When I walk in to deactivate the alarm, that's quiet. And I think it's just because the other one was really loud. And sometimes my husband forgets that it's on, but thankfully, he's caught it in time that the alarm didn't go off.
I had to call about getting a power cord to charge the doorbell camera. And that took a little bit of time just because they said I should have had it. But I didn’t have it and my battery was running down. They finally came by and gave me one. But I'm so happy that I switched and I will never go back to that other company.

I discovered that while the price has gone up over the years, they do have special benefits for loyal customers. I was able to get my rate reduced. I’m also with State Farm, and they have an arrangement with ADT where if we are monitored 24/7, we get an additional $10 off our bill. I thought that was a nice setup.
I’m an older retired gal, and my husband passed away a few years ago. It used to take both of us to change a battery. In the beginning, we paid extra for a service so that if we needed batteries, someone would just come. ADT changed that part of their service around five years ago, and now they charge for any home visits, even if you have the service plan.
That said, their call-in tech support is excellent. The people I’ve worked with on a number of occasions have been very patient, understanding, and supportive. They never rush you on the phone, and they’ve helped me do what needed to be done or handled it from their end. I’m very confident just calling in, like they’re just a phone call away.
I’ve told a lot of people when they talk about feeling safe that I have ADT and that I’m very happy with the service.

We have ADT for our peace of mind. While we’ve been with them for years, we don’t use the alarm or anything hardly. We just kind of like the idea that we can lock our door and stuff like that. The only issue we’ve had is that our doorbell doesn’t work.

One area for improvement is that they should be more willing to send out a technician when something needs to be replaced, as opposed to just sending the equipment and expecting me to install it. When a battery had to be replaced, they talked me through it over the phone, but it took a while because I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.

ADT technicians are always very polite and nice when they come out. They usually get everything done right the first time. If not, they return and finish whatever is going on. Sometimes, I experience camera outages, but I can usually fix them easily. The doorbell is a bit more intricate, but I’m generally able to fix that as well. However, due to the heat in this area, the doorbell sometimes needs to be replaced. When that happens, they’ve been able to come out and take care of it.
The system is good most of the time in terms of functionality and performance. I like the security cameras. I can see who’s at my front door or at the side gate, or if my pet’s been doing something crazy in the backyard. I feel secure. I recommend ADT. Their service has been good for me for 20 years now.

I’ve had ADT for not even a year yet, and I heard about it through my Realtor. I’m content with them. The app is nice. And they’re receptive and quick to help if there’s an issue with my devices. And their price is also fair. I just had a camera that broke, and they came and replaced it.

I just moved here from California last year, and I had an ADT system back there for 30 years. So, I just decided to get one here in my new home in Avon.
Every time I’ve had a glitch or had some questions, I call ADT. They are very responsive. Usually, I just need some minor technical help. I just press up whatever the button is for technical support, and they usually respond within 10 or 15 seconds.
When I leave and I put my alarm on, I know the house is well taken care of, and safe and secure when I come back. ADT is worth getting. The system works very well. The monthly charge is not too high, and the service is excellent.

We've had ADT service here in this house for around 45 years now. Their customer service has been very responsive. In some cases, even proactive when they have new features that they can offer the customer. They do that, but not in a badgering sales sort of way. It's very inviting and you always feel like you're in control. If you have a need for change or modification, they’re very good about offering solutions.
We started with a wired system, and then we went to a non-wired system, which we like better. I feel a bit more secure with that. But our every experience with them, not just installation but service calls, and we've had a few of those for different reasons over time, but all very positive. If anyone I know needs the services that ADT offers I highly recommend them.

ADT has done everything I needed them to do. And even when I'm away, I can set the alarm and feel secure that everything is locked down. And I feel safe with it. The only problem I have is the billing. Sometimes I have a habit of hitting the amount twice, which would pay for the following month. But this month they didn't take it off. Other than that, customer service has always been very good. I'm satisfied with the amount that I'm paying. I would tell friends to check out ADT.

I've been with ADT for several years, and I have had no problem with them. Our neighborhood is not the best and having their service gives me several more layers of feeling safe. I like the fact that when you open the doors, they ring, so you always know if someone is coming in or out.

We have made several moves and been with ADT for 20 years with different houses we’ve had. I’ve had no negative experience with the salespersons. They’ve all been good. We had an installation guy nine years ago on the current house who installed ADT and helped the cable guy because he didn’t know how to put the cable. We stayed with ADT through the years since they've been very dependable and responsive.

We put ADT’s service in our house because my mom had it in Florida. She had the alarm set up where she would hear a beep if the window or door opened. My dad had Alzheimer’s and had a tendency to wander. With the service, that way, my mom knew if he was doing something. She was more comfortable having a service.
The person who did the installation gave us the fob, which I like. I went away to Florida the last weekend of June, and I used the fob to lock the house while I was away. I used it too when I came back into the house. We haven't done an upgrade because we can’t afford the extra money. But the price that we pay for the system, $57.99, is not bad.
Some years ago, I didn’t understand how to use the system and wanted someone to come in person to show me how to use the box. They said they would charge me for that, so we did it over the phone. I was not happy with that response.

ADT has been a reliable system for us. Whenever we’ve had problems with the keypads, we've had good luck in getting service out here, and we haven’t had to wait a long time. We've had service people out here a couple of times and that's all been positive. It'd be nice if they could go down on the price, but there's no expectation of that ‘cause everything's going up these days. But if they could remain where they're at, that would be great.

I went with ADT because they had a good reputation in the marketplace and they could pretty much take care of all of the security needs that I wanted to take care of. I stayed with them because the customer contact people are very patient. These security systems can get a little wonky every now and then. When I call in, they're always very patient and they walk me through the little adjustments or changes I need to make. They've been very good over the 20 years I’ve been with them. I'm a little older than average, so they gotta go a little bit slower because the technology is advancing so quickly.
My wife and I are conscientious about making sure we have all the green lights in the control panel before we start opening doors. Where we are on the electrical grid tends to be a little unstable. We have these short pops where we lose power for 3 to 7 seconds, and that requires reboots. Every once in a while, one of them gets off track. ADT’s customer service people have treated me well. They tell me to do this and that and how to reboot before I even have to call in. That's really nice.
ADT is a good value for the money, but it's not cheap. I've been their advocate for quite a while. A couple of my neighbors have added it. You get to a certain point where you would say you used to use your toolbox. In my case, I now use my checkbook. I just want it right. Once I figured the system all out and the machines trained me, the system has been working pretty well. At one point, I had a small problem and a guy came out. He said, “Oh, my God. I didn't even know we still had these things in service.” He immediately got an OK to replace every one of the sensors, control boxes, and everything to keep us up to date.
The only thing I haven't done, and I'm toying with, is the exterior cameras. The problem there is the way they integrate to ADT is through Google Nest and I don't use Google Nest. It would be nice if there was a way to go straight into the control box with ADT without having to go through another provider. The more providers you put in a chain, the more difficult it is to keep that chain functioning. One provider might say, “Oh, no, no. That's the other guy.” The other guy would say, “No, it isn't. It's the 12th guy.” I just like one straight line.

ADT was already here when we bought the house 18 years ago, and we just kept it. It's been okay. Of course, price keeps going up, but the system is easy to use. The online is easy. Everything seems to work smoothly.
The only interaction I have with ADT is we run a test every so often, and we do that online, so I've really had no direct contact with them.

ADT has been a great company for us. They supplied us with good service, and we're satisfied. I’ve had them for 10 years, and they’ve been responsive and timely. And if I have a problem, they have an answer. They’re always there with the fix. I like the responsiveness of the system because if we have a situation, the phone’s ringing, and they wanna know what’s going on.
We’ve had false alarms that we would set off by maybe going out the wrong door or maybe dropping something. And we have motion detectors in the house. And sometimes, if you drop a kitchen utensil, it thinks it’s a window being broken, and it’d set that off.

We’ve had ADT since we moved into this home. It was already set up with the ADT. They just made an appointment and came and made sure it was set up with our passwords, and everything was fine.
We had a little bit of trouble about a year ago. We have French doors, and we put in these pet doors, but it wasn’t working with our pet doors. And I don’t know if it was my husband’s fault because he kept saying that it’s not gonna work with it. But the problem is that they like to have you troubleshoot it yourself, and it wasn’t working. So, for a long time, we just weren’t using it, and we’re paying for it.
Finally, we were gonna cancel it, but they were giving us a hard time about canceling it. So, I got them to realize that it was because we couldn’t get these dumb dog doors to work. So, they had me troubleshooting it. And then I just got so aggravated that they sent somebody out, and they were able to fix it. And they were nice. They gave me credit for a couple of months. And then they also lowered my price. Because it went up to $60 a month, and then they dropped it to $50.
So, there was just a lot of miscommunication. And a few times, when I tried to address the situation over the past couple of years with the dog doors, I got them on the chat, and then we got disconnected. And then they didn’t really try to get back with me. I had to keep trying to get ahold of them again. And then I let it fall by the wayside. But things worked out in the long run.
So, ADT is good. And the app is nice because I use it to arm it when I leave the house. But the thing now is, they will charge you to come to the house. But they didn’t charge me because I was going to get rid of them, and they did not want that.

I told salesman wanted cctv no storage, recording or monthly fees then told there's a quality control plan that is like a maintenance warranty $13 a month for a year but can cancel but should wait about 90 days to confirm camera working ok. It's been 90 days and now told I can cancel but still required to continue paying. I've had customer service guesses and misinformation. Adt can't be trusted and willing to deceive.

My favorite feature is the Stay system of being able to have the system armed and walk around inside the house at night. Basic desire for home security made me get ADT and we’ve had them for more than 25 years now. It’s a good service overall. It’s not overly difficult getting a live representative, but it’s not incredibly easy either. You gotta get through menus and prompts. I’ve had a good experience with service technicians. They would come out and be helpful to install new required sensors that are worn out over time.

ADT is reliable and it works well. It provides outstanding security on your property. I started with them when their company started. Customer service has been excellent. They provide a human being for you to get the help you need right away. When the cameras weren’t working, technicians came out and made sure I got what I needed so that they would work well. I feel more secure with the ADT system. I like the fact that the people you call in are monitoring the property that the system is at. They are actual human beings doing the monitoring.

I’ve been with ADT for so long, since around 2010. When I call for a problem, I get help. I always get pleasant people. It’s always very good customer service and it’s consistent. I have a system that’s on the wall, which is great. But once you punch the numbers in forever, those numbers get faded a little bit. That’s the only problem I’ve had with it. They have great service, and it’s well worth whatever you pay for. Their monitoring is wonderful. If the alarm goes off for too long, somebody’s gonna call and check on you. They're A+ on the security and a very good company.

We have other friends that have an ADT security system, and they showed us how it worked and we liked it. When we originally called the ADT headquarters, the guy gave us erroneous information, but customer support was excellent. We had an issue the other day when we changed our password, and they helped us set everything up remotely, and everything worked fine, so it was great. Using the app is a piece of cake, and we use it all the time.

We just purchased our home, and it was already pre-equipped with ADT. So, it made the most sense to go with ADT. My mother also had ADT in her home and she liked it. She’s passed away now. In an overall perspective, I have a good experience with ADT.
I’ve had interactions with two customer service personnel and both of them were personable and knowledgeable. One of them was more knowledgeable than the other, but they were both trying to act in my best interest.
The last representative was here physically. He was amazing. He made me feel really good about the system and helped improve my confidence in using it too.
ADT is really good. So far, the experience has been positive. Top marks for that company.

I had one issue once. The alarm system went down. I talked with someone from help desk on the weekend. They pretty much gave me some advice and recommendations on what to do. I had to do my own troubleshooting. I had to call back, and then finally got the issue resolved.
I’m not pleased with the cost because I pay them twice. It’s in the increments. It may be for equipment and then for the service. I was quoted around 70 bucks a month, but I pay 75 plus the 20 something. So, that’s almost 100 bucks.

I wish I could give ADT 0 stars. This company has caused my family nothing but trauma, fear, and absolute frustration. The nightmare started when our alarm went off in the middle of the night, blaring through the house and terrifying everyone inside, including my young children. The police were sent to my home, only to find that it was a false alarm—caused by a sensor that had fallen off the wall.
When I called ADT the next morning, their “solution” was to re-stick the sensor using Command Strips. Seriously. That’s what they told me to do for a supposedly high-end security system—use arts-and-crafts supplies to hold it together. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and it happened again. Another false alarm, this time claiming a window had been opened. The sirens blared, the police showed up again, and once again, we were left shaken and exhausted for no reason. The sensor had not even fallen off the window, just an unexplainable error in their system.
At this point, I called ADT demanding a full refund. This system had done nothing but scare my family, disturb our peace, and waste police resources. The representative told me she was a “manager,” but couldn’t issue a refund because I was outside of the refund window, which is apparently just three days after purchase. THREE DAYS. For a system that’s supposed to protect your family for years.
To make matters worse, her only offer was to send a technician out—in a week. No urgency. No escalation. She also refused to transfer me to anyone higher, claiming to be the manager and insisted there was no one above her to speak with. Yet, she didn't even have the authority to arrange a product removal or issue a refund. Completely unhelpful. I am in complete despair over this experience. ADT is a disgrace to the idea of home security, and I would never recommend them to anyone. If you’re considering ADT—don’t do it. You’re better off with a dog and a Ring camera than trusting your family’s safety to this company.

I relocated from one address to another. ADT relocation advised to take my equipment with me and when I moved, to call and set up service. I got ready to setup up service, they told me I couldn’t use the same equipment that they told me to take and tried to charge me $500 along with the $5,000 in collection because it took too long for me to relocate. I was on the phone with them for 2 hours with no resolution.

ADT Security Services. I've seen A LOT of Negative reviews on ADT and I can understand a lot of peoples frustrations. I'll tell you my true story with ADT which started in January 2025, and why I'm still with them.... In January 2025 I had someone living with me, push me and take my phone, police called, protection orders, etc. Called ADT to have security cameras put up for my own safety. The call was easy the technician was friendly and helpful. The same day, the person I had the cameras put in for my safety, stole all the camera and equipment! I called ADT and they said they couldn't even give me a discount, since it was someone living there (Police said the same thing).
Hired lawyers to have this person evicted. SIX MONTHS LATER or longer (Evicted on July 31, 2025) this person was evicted from my house. Had to pay ADT AGAIN for the equipment and installation at full price! I understand why they had to charge again, but at least give a guy a break on buying all the same equipment again! Had it installed again on 7.31.25. Tech was very friendly and did great. Now the pros and cons of ADT from my limited use with them (Initial install was January 2025 and cameras and equipment was stolen the same day, Reinstall and repurchase was on 7.31.25 so I've only actually had limited time using their system):
PROS:
1. Easy to set up an appointment. Person on phone is knowledgeable and will go over pricing with you.2. Tech installation person had been exceptionally professional on BOTH times they came out to install. Was patient and went through the setup step by step with me.
3. The Google Nest equipment they use is really what I was looking for. I have two indoor cameras, doorbell camera, an exterior camera, door sensor, window sensor and a CO2/Smoke detector installed. From my phone I can view the camera video anytime, and the APP is quite user friendly.4. Video quality is quite good and at night, the night vision is quite detailed. I like that you can look at different timelines on who/what came by the cameras.
5. Payment plan to break into 3 payments for equipment and installation was nice. Thought the monthly monitoring fee was reasonable.
CONS:
A) Some LONG hold times, on about 50% + of the calls that I made to them and wanting to talk to a real person (The hold music is not very nice to listen to, upgrade to something better please)
B) No discount on buying the equipment again (Through no fault of my own) was disappointing. Even if they offered me say a 25% Discount, I would have been happy with that. And even though I had to pay FULL PRICE AGAIN for a new Installation and NEW EQUIPMENT, when I asked the guy (Phone Service center) if I could get a new yard sign (Cheap plastic/cardboard sign that says "Protected by ADT") he said I'm only allowed ONE per year at initial purchase!?!? I told him I just REPURCHASED EVERYTHING AT FULL PRICE, but he said the sign was grayed out on his computer meaning I'm not allowed to get another one?!?! RIDICULOUS!
C) And that's a BIG problem. Big Corporation that has lost touch with their own customer base and doesn't know what good customer care is anymore... Just a bunch of people on phones trying to make a sale and not able to hear the REAL CONCERNS about the people that pay them.
D) Equipment: I like the equipment and camera system and apps but in WA state ( May be different in different states) ADT is not allowed to hardwire the equipment. Meaning the Cameras have to have an outlet nearby and you may need an extension cord (They don't supply extension cords). The camera doorbell is battery operated and needs to be charged (Actually easy to do, but of course I'd prefer one less thing to charge in my life). The battery in the Doorbell camera does have a pretty good life and the APP does show how much of a charge is left on it.
So if you're looking for a clean install with no power lines visible and or extension cords, don't go with ADT, Overall, I like the equipment and service. Thus the 3 star rating. I'm going to stay with them awhile to see how they are in the long run.

ADT completely screwed us over. We are a small business. We’ve had a broken camera for 2 years. Every time it should have been ordered or repaired, it magically disappeared from the warehouse or never made it on the techs truck that day. That has lasted 2 years and that’s not even all of it. We had an NVR replaced that apparently wasn’t compatible with half of our cameras, so half of them have the wrong time stamps and it cannot be fixed. You’d think someone would have mentioned that when they swapped it out. Then I finally get someone to listen to me about my broken camera, they send a tech and they break another camera and then deny it to the corporate office. ADT claims the broken cameras are out of service warranty yet I’ve been paying insurance on my equipment since 2013…
What’s funny is back in 2022 I got some new equipment and somehow they cancelled my old contract and only put insurance on 1 new camera. So for years I’ve been paying insurance, old equipment, new equipment doesn’t matter, I’ve paid my bill religiously. And… let’s say 2 years ago when I called about the 1st broken camera, let’s imagine someone said “hey, this camera is old and out of your service warranty, you’ll have to purchase a new one.” DON’T YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE. But instead they strung me along and played mind games. They lied, and have wasted countless hours of my time and they refuse to do anything to help me. They’ve done NOTHING!! Except tell me “oh well, the camera is out of service you have to pay for a new one. Oh and our tech denies braking that second camera you claim isn’t working…” ADT is big business and they could give a f less about small businesses like mine.

Worst experience ever!!!! The equipment is very faulty and then when you try to get someone to come out, they want to charge you for them coming out to fix the equipment that’s faulty!!! Window sensors are not working properly. It’s hard to get in contact with anyone to fix the issue. Save your money!!! They will lock you into a contract and you will be hit with all kinds of surprises. Don’t do it.!!!! When you do get support the call is dropped and they don’t even call you back!!!! Horrible service!!! And don’t fall for Safe Streets too. They use safe streets to sign you up for ADT!! I reached out to them at one of my other addresses and they don’t even return your call either. They’re just out to get the sales. Horrible customer service.!!

My experience with ADT has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I believe their practices border on predatory. Once you’re a customer, it feels nearly impossible to cancel service without being subjected to arbitrary fees that seem to be made up on the spot. Despite shutting down my system months ago, ADT continues to act as if the service is still active—and continues billing me. There is no real monitoring. The signal can be easily rerouted, and the system could be bypassed by anyone with minimal knowledge. When I contacted them to report the service wasn’t functioning, no one listened. Instead, they kept demanding payment for a system I was no longer using.
Their billing practices are especially concerning. Any refunds due are not issued back to your original payment method—they’re simply applied as credits to your ADT account, which can then be taken back at their discretion. It feels like they’re doing everything they can to keep a hand in your bank account, whether or not you’re receiving a service. I’ve been trying to resolve these issues for over a year. The company is disorganized and inconsistent—each department has a different story, and no one seems empowered to help or resolve anything. In my experience, ADT has shown itself to be a dishonest, greedy, and unaccountable company. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

The ADT system works fine for alarms, I suppose. But, when ANYTHING goes wrong, needs to be reset, adjusted, etc., it costs $60 for the repairman to show, then $150 for every 30 minutes of work!!!! We had just moved to a new neighborhood and we wanted a home security system because we are both seniors. Since we didn't know anything about them, we went with the name. BIG mistake! There are systems out there that provide the same level of security without exorbitant fees or such a lengthy contract. (I think I understand now why they do that.) I wish I had done more research and not been sucked in by the brand name.

Buyer beware...do your homework before you commit. I didn't know there were separate "systems", and that depending on the "system" you get installed, there are implications in terms of an integrated app and type of panel you get, and compatibility of sensors. As a State Farm Homeowners Policyholder, I signed up for a promotional ADT package including roughly $1,200 in components (includes like 5 water sensors, a fire/smoke/CO2 sensor, and 2 door/window sensors) for free and reduced monitoring fees for 3 years. Additionally you can add more components at 15% off MSRP.
1. I called the number associated with the promo/online add from the State Farm portal, and explained what I wanted in addition to the base promo package. I explained I wanted an integrated panel/apps. Sales rep said during install the tech will go over the extra equipment requested. This was my first mistake. I should have pushed on the front end for clarity on exactly what I wanted, what the pricing would be, and which ADT system I was getting and would be locked into.
2. During install, discussed with tech added equipment. I was busy working (I work from home most days) and had limited opportunities to talk with the tech. But later when I had a break between meetings, he briefly showed me the work order. I expected to pay around an additional $2K give or take. But the work order was showing $3,500. After asking the tech about the 15% discount, he replied it was embedded already in the costs on the Work Order and that it just doesn't present the price as "total minus discount = your cost". Fair, I swiped my credit card and moved on to my next meeting. Later that evening I look closer at the Work Order, and started comparing costs to ADT's own website, the Google Nest product pages online, and other retailers like Best Buy. Every Nest component on the Work Order was priced exactly $100 over MSRP anywhere else I could find. So not only did it appear I didn't get a 15% discount. But the prices were inflated over MSRP everywhere else I looked. I called ADT support, and they did refund me back about $520 (they confirmed the prices did not include a discount). However, it's 15% off their inflated price...not off of MSRP.
3. Because the tech was set to arrive the afternoon of June 30th to install, that morning I called to cancel my service with Vivint, since all of the Vivint equipment would be removed. So when the tech arrived and started the install process, I was very surprised to learn that the ADT-State Farm package included a very legacy/outdated-looking panel with physical buttons, rather than a sleek, sophisticated LCD-based panel. When wife first saw it after install, her comment was this: Does it have to been in the foyer/hallway and be the first thing I or someone else sees when they enter the house? Admittedly, it is an eye sore. Also come to find out - no, this wouldn't be an integrated seamless experience. Rather you have to download the ADT Control App for the ADT sensors. But for the Google Nest components, I would have to use a separate Google Home app. Additional implications are that you therefore can't create automations between ADT components and Nest components. To slightly back up a bit, I received a pre-installation checklist email of things I needed to do before installation, including downloading the ADT+ app. If you read about that app, it notes integration of Google Nest equipment so that you have a seamless experience via one app. Hence everything up to the installation, I'm thinking I'm going to have a modern, sleek, integrated system and app. Not the case at all.
4. This is probably the most annoying thing I am angry about. I received a survey shortly after install regarding my experience, and I shared several of the points noted above. Surprisingly, an ADT rep emailed me pretty quickly after regarding the survey noting that she wanted to connect with me sometime over the next week or two to learn more about why my experience was less than good to see if anything could be done. I emailed this rep back twice with optional dates/times (once before going on a short vacation, and once when I returned), and I never heard back again - ghosted.
5. Today I called back to see if I could upgrade to a more modern style, LCD-based panel. I would be willing to pay the cost difference between what was provided in the base ADT-State Farm package and the more modern style, LCD-based panel. The first person I talked to said that can only be done if all of the sensors (excluding the Google Nest products) were also replaced as the sensors they installed are not compatible with the LCD panel? Pretty fed up at this point, I called to threaten cancellation (and the jury is still out on that front...I'm still very much considering cancelling). I eventually got over to Account Management, and the individual somewhat refuted what the prior individual stated, indicating that - no, all of the sensors wouldn't have to be replaced. After being put on hold a few minutes, the rep in Account Management came back and stated that the panel could be upgraded without having to replace all of the sensors, but that I would lose the reduced monitoring fees for the first 3 years. Like seriously? I understand State Farm provided $X dollars to fund the package and equipment. But if I'm willing to pay the difference in the increased cost of the panel, how does that have anything to do with the cost of the monitoring service? This individual couldn't explain it, and had no answer to provide. So call ended, I'm still pissed off.
6. This review would have been 1 start, but I upgraded it to a 2 because I was able to integrate into the ADT Control App my Lutron Casetta smart light switches. This is something I couldn't do with Vivint previously.
7 and last - In hindsight - had I understood all of the limitations and technicalities with the various ADT systems, I would not have switched from Vivint. But at this point, all equipment has already been swapped out...it's a big PITA to revert back. But like I noted above, I'm still very much considering cancelling ADT and going back to Vivint.

Customer service has been an absolute nightmare. Every time we call, we're transferred multiple times, only to be disconnected and forced to start the process all over again—often after waiting on hold for an hour or more. We've contacted support more times than we can count, and despite all of that, our system still doesn’t work. It feels like the company expects customers to troubleshoot everything themselves, and even when help is requested, we’re told someone will call us back—yet the issues remain unresolved.

I had my 4th appointment for the same issue going on a year now. ADT states it monitors your alarm 24/7. FALSE. My system hadn’t been working for a few months and no one reached out to us on their end to see if they could help. But those bills kept coming. I’ve been on phone call and phone call taking off work to meet for appointments just to have the problem arise an hour after the technician leaves. Today I was scheduled between 8-12. I get a phone call saying it’s now going to be 1-3. I explained to the manager Chris in the local office of Albuquerque that I took off of work unpaid. I was told that that tech was the ONLY ONE he had working today. Now I asked him, "You only have ONE employee working on a Friday?" Starts to tell me problems within the company on why.
It’s not my problem. That’s an in house issue that should NEVER be told to a customer. He kept telling me he disagrees with me and that I don’t know what I’m talking about. (I pray the record calls.). This is such a sad excuse for a manager. He should be fired!!!! I do not recommend this company. I know ADT has a name that’s been around a while but if this who they have representing their company, I’m done with them. He seems to think because he’s collecting a pay check while belittling his customers in the process, that he’s in the right. What is wrong with that picture. Chris just remember my money works just as well at another business who will treat their customers with respect and value the business. After all CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR PAYCHECK.

ADT is total trash. I paid for 2 years for nothing. All their equipment is cheap and useless. I finally called to cancel and got stuck on the phone for 3 HOURS with some fake “supervisors” named Deadra and Candice. They promised no charges and lied straight to my face. Then they send a technician and of course he says “yes we will charge you.” I canceled everything on the spot. ADT is a SCAM. Don’t waste your money or time with these liars. Stay away!!

Your customer service sucks! I just got hung up on by the account manager after having to go through two people. I will never recommend this piece of shit service. I was told to call two months ahead to cancel my service and all this lady wants to talk about his early cancellation instead of taking the note and stopping withdrawals when my contract is finished. What is your standard?

I’ve had an extremely negative experience with ADT. Their customer service is terrible—appointments were repeatedly canceled and rescheduled, and there is no reliable local support. The technicians I dealt with were poorly trained and seemed inexperienced, leaving issues unresolved. After multiple wasted visits and hours on the phone, I gave up on ADT. I cannot recommend this company to anyone who expects competent service or dependable support.

I’m very disappointed to be an ADT customer. I recently fell on hard times and was not able to pay the monthly monitoring fee for 6 months, (equipment fee was being paid) I had other bills to pay and catch-up on, however before this hardship I paid consistent for 20 months of a 36 month contract. Service is now reinstated however I can not pick back up where I left off I have to restart my contract. Being a loyal customer doesn’t matter. It’s all a money grab. Sad that grace can’t be shown. Life happens unfortunately. But I paid the rears.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Proceed with Caution. This company locks you into a contract and holds you liable for thousands of dollars, even if you move. After relocating, I was forced to continue using their service. Despite complying, they still charged me a $2,395 cancellation fee—wrongfully. Without my consent, they withdrew the money directly from my checking account, even after I called twice and sent multiple emails disputing the charge. The company’s performance is poor, and their customer service is unresponsive. They seem to rely on restrictive contracts to retain customers—because without them, people would likely switch to Xfinity, which offers better features, lower prices, and no long-term commitment. Avoid this company at all costs.

Our service has been horrible. The doorbell camera doesn't work. We have been dealing with this situation for almost 3 weeks. It will not stay charged at all. We call and someone came out and it worked for about 30 minutes and died again. Yesterday they were supposed to return our call and never did. We have been on the phone for almost an hour. They passed us from one department to another one. We haven't been able to go on vacation or anything because this issue. We got ADT because we thought they were going to do an awesome job, but it turns out we have been doing the job ourselves instead of them. I have to go to door because the doorbell isn't working and it doesn't make any sense why it is not. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted at this point.

They damaged our house when they installed the equipment and put big cracks in our vinyl siding. The cameras ran out of storage space and quit working early each month. They raised our monthly payment out of nowhere. To top it all off, after two years we are selling our house and they are charging us a lot of money for “termination of our contract”. I was on the phone with them today for over two hours before they finally hung up on me and said they will not let us out of the fine. Run. Run as fast as you can. Do not sign anything with ADT or their dealers. We are telling everyone we can and are seeking legal counsel.

My ADT service has not worked for a very long time. I tried many times to get someone to come out and fix it, but they kept trying to get me to fix it over the phone which did not work. My account was canceled and they called me and said if I pay the past due amount, they will waive the cancellation fee. After I paid the past due amount, they sent me to the reinstatement department. I told them that I recorded the call with the agent telling me that he would close my account and cancel the cancellation fee. The manager is in the other department. Said that wasn’t true and they wouldn’t keep their agreement. I have the call recorded and have made an attorney general complaint. Close my account and cancel the cancellation fee. This may be headed for court. This is a horrible service and they cannot be trusted.

I had a very bad experience with ADT. I was a Californian moving to Florida and I purchased my home in October of 2024. I got a call from ADT (Prime Protection) while still in California that said they owned the service at my new home and wanted to offer me a "continuation of service" at my new address. They said the previous owners used ADT and that it was still active. I thought that sounded good. However, when I arrived in Florida, they put up all new equipment saying it was an "upgrade". The equipment was all battery powered so I had to pull the cameras every two or three weeks to recharge.
Four months later, I ran into the owner, and asked him about ADT. He said he did not have ADT and used Ring instead. I tried to call to cancel, but the wait time was over 30 minutes. About 4 months later, I finally got through on cancellation and found out that my contract was 36 months and I couldn't not cancel without a hefty penalty. No one at ADT told me verbally that it was a 36 month contract. Everything with ADT was a nightmare from the beginning and I foolishly got caught in a scam. Do not use ADT unless you are aware of the 36 month contract and that their cameras have to be recharged frequently. I actually installed a Ring system myself and am using that instead. At this time, I'm avoiding having to pay the 1559.00 penalty but I don't need to have both system, so I'll probably just have to pay it if I don't figure a way to get out of it.

We purchase ADT doorbell cam. And the doorbell doesn't ring, when we called ADT the lady Rhonda stated the doorbell ringing wasn't within or package deal? Who purchases a doorbell for it not to ring ? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. We are definitely not happy customers! She stated we would need to purchase the doorbell ringing in out package???? We are definitely shopping for other services! Definitely wouldn't recommend ADT services. We even purchased for an ADT installation and it would been nice to know we would need to pay for the doorbell to ring, we would have NEVER purchased this crap.

I’ve had terrible, unusable service for most of the contract. My contract is up in May 2026 and I can’t wait. This service was offered as a new homeowner with a veterans “discount”. Customer service is terrible, they all bounce you around like you’re just a number. I spoke to one representative that seemed as if she was helping then turned around and retracted all that she promised once we came to a resolution. She said she needed to speak with her manager about the recent visit a tech made to my home. The tech couldn’t fix most of my problem due to them charging me fees that they said I wouldn’t be charged in the first place. The rep said, “Oh he did fix something.” I said, “He changed a sensor!” He was not able to fix anything on my keypad due to the fees prohibiting further assessment, it’s still not working properly. The rep got an attitude and so did I because ADT has been trash the entire time I’ve had their service.
Once she spoke with the manager she came back and said we can waive the fees and an hour of service after the SECOND technician left my home FOR THE SAME REASON. I explained to this lady that I work two jobs and have limited time, if she could send someone out in the morning then that would be best. She had no available morning times. She offered to take $7 and some change off my bill in addition to another 36 month renewal of the contract. I told her no thank you! She told me to, “Have a day!” (Yes, she said, “Have a day!”) I said “You too!” Then you have to call them right before the contract ends or it will renew automatically.

I have been an ADT customer since 2000. In 2019, I cancelled my land line. I just got a "chime" that my battery was low. So, I called ADT. The call was answered by an "out-of-the-United-States" center; they refused to let me speak with someone in the USA. I did find that ADT had no record of my landline being cancelled; therefore, I have had no monitoring since 2019! Yet, ADT continues to bill me $194.19 every three months. For what? To monitor my system? This is outrageous! The overseas call center told me that a new panel ($300) will be required and my bill will be $79 monthly. My ADT Customer Service experience, as a 25-year customer, is absolutely horrific.

After deciding to leave ADT after 7+ years I went with Vivint but when I tried to cancel (around 6/24/25) ADT made offers they could not fulfill. After speaking with several people and lots of time and a confusion. A rep from the Somerset, NJ local office contacted me and scheduled to come out to my home. On 6/27 I entered an agreement for equipment and services to be installed on 7/10 and the services and equipment received would be paid off in 36 monthly payments. On 7/10 the technician arrived he completed the work that he could complete. However, he did not bring a flood sensor that was on the order he also charged me for more magnet and contact boxes than I actually received and the electrician that was supposed to come to install the smart thermostat “no call, no showed”.
I contacted the rep from local office. I informed him of this. He offered me batteries for the old contact boxes I had that did not require replacement. He said he would bring the batteries and the flood center next week because the technician told me he would bring them to me next week but he left without scheduling it. On 6/13 I noticed there was a charge on my card for $519.22. I contacted Brian M. the local ADT Somerset rep that created the original order and contract that I agreed to. I informed him via text because he did not answer that adt charged me an unauthorized amount of $529.22. He told me I would have to contact customer service there was nothing he could do.
On that day I contacted customer service. I spoke with a CSR rep who transferred me to billing who then transferred me to sale who then transferred me to the loyalty department. Eventually I spoke with someone who said she would reverse the charge but it had not posted to the account that she would call me back the next day. She did not call back. The charge was still there. I continued to contact adt for the next several days to follow up first I was told 3-5 days then I was told someone from the local office would contact me then I was told it takes 7-10 business days.
It is 7/25, the charge is still deducted from my account. The contract I signed was for equipment and services to be installed and paid off over the 36 monthly installments. When the technician came he did not bring all of the equipment in the order and the electrician did not show up to install the smart thermostat I was supposed to receive. At this point the contract needed to be modified because I was being charged for services and equipment I did not receive. Including magnets and contact boxes. I made them aware of all of this and still nothing has changed. The $529.22 is still posted and they have not modified and sent a new agreement to reflect the actual services and equipment received.
The 1st installment would be due in August 46.99 for monthly services plus whatever the correct installment amount would be for the equipment and service actually received. The reps that I spoke with told me that the technician changed my 36 month installment agreement into 3 payments. This was done without my authorization. He did not confirm with me what the charge should be I did not sign anything because I would not have agreed to that because that was not the agreement. So this is fraud because I did not authorize this. Again to date 7/25/25 no one has reached out to me, the contract has not been modified to accurately reflect services and equipment received and those that weren’t should be removed. The 529.22 still missing from my account. Then neither the rep or technician brought the batteries or the flood sensor to my home.
This is the worse experience I’ve ever had with adt actually with any home service provider. Sadly vivint is much more expensive but has higher quality equipment and camera options adt can’t provide. At this point going back to ADT was not a good choice. Despite some of Vivint’s reps being overseas yet there is access to reps in US. Their customer service for the short time I had them was much more effective than ADT. Even the technicians. ADT quality in service and equipment has really changed for the worse.

Title: Extremely Disappointed – Unethical Sales Practices and Poor Management. I rarely write reviews, but my experience with ADT’s Small Business Sales and Accounting Management team in Northern Virginia has been absolutely unacceptable. From the start, the salesperson who handled my account misled me with false promises just to close the deal. I later discovered that key features I was promised were either unavailable or not included in the package. It felt like a blatant scam—a commission grab with zero accountability.
It’s deeply disappointing to see a security company—whose entire business model is based on trust—operate with such deceptive sales tactics and disorganized management. I would strongly caution any small business in the Northern Virginia area against working with ADT. There are more ethical and responsive companies out there that actually value your business. ADT was the sole viable option available to me. My area didn't have many choices; the smaller or private companies were not ideal. Since starting with ADT, I can report that my experience has been fairly positive; I haven't encountered any significant issues with the system. It seems to be functioning smoothly, meeting my basic expectations and keeping me informed as intended.
I've interacted with ADT customer service only once, and I found the process straightforward and successful. My query was about adjusting settings, and the representative handled it effectively.
Important indices such as calling authorities automatically haven't been experienced by me yet but ADT’s system adequately informs me of security events like open exits. Hence, I'd give it an average mid-point score.
My sense of security with ADT isn't absolute—I'm still conscious of the importance of other protective measures in conjunction. I ensure I am well connected with local authorities just in case. For now, it’s a reliable system that keeps me aware without causing worry.

If you have ANY doubt that you will use this monitoring for less than 3 years, DON'T DO IT. I called to cancel, they canceled alright, now a 3rd part collection agency calls me regularly. They want $3,000. To take this off my credit, it feels like blackmail. They won't and don't pick up their old equipment...I had to disconnect it myself. Good luck speaking to a real person after it's installed.

We have had ADT for about a year and a half with nothing but problems….Sensors going off, low battery on brand new equipment, installing equipment that wasn’t right for the location and having to take it out. They said they’d Lower our bill starting in June, then July and still hasn’t happened. I’m on the phone with them for over an hour almost every month, mostly on hold while they read my case. Could not be more frustrated. Will be dropping as soon as I can!!!

I opted for ADT because of the information I received through mail and the internet, which seemed reliable and comprehensive. I've been with ADT for about a year and a half, and their customer service representative who helped me sign up was excellent. Everything has run smoothly; I haven't even needed a battery replacement for the sensors yet. Overall, my experience with ADT has been seamless and trouble-free.

Throughout my time with ADT, I've noticed that their customer service has been consistently very good. The installation of the new system was seamless, and I've had no issues that required technician visits. In the past, when I was using the older system, ADT would send technicians when needed. They were always efficient and very professional.
Overall, my experience with ADT has been satisfactory, and I don't feel there's anything they need to improve on at this moment.

Worst Alarm Company Ever! Purchased a home where the previous owner had an account. They gave us the alarm code, but we didn't want to utilize the services. The alarm keeps randomly going off at all times of the day. When I called customer service to ask if they could send a technician out to remove or uninstall the system, they said they cannot because I don't have an active account. Need to update your policies to allow this. Unbelievable. Now I have to drive over to my rental house and figure out how to get this thing off the wall.

ADT seems to do what we need them to do and we usually don't have any problems with them. We've been using ADT services for as long as we have lived in our house, which is around 25 years now. They have consistently provided us with good service, ensuring we connect with someone on the phone swiftly whenever needed. The technicians who have visited our home did a commendable job, especially when we opted for some system upgrades. They were efficient and the work was carried out smoothly.

We had equipment installed without issues but within 3 months we began to have issues that none of their employees were able to solve. We had a technician come out and he was unable to determine what to do and then left without letting us know he would be leaving or asking if we had any questions

This is the biggest grift of homeownership! They extorted money from us for months until we finally got them cancelled! Buyer beware, the customer service is unprofessional and incompetent. We will be sending a referral to the BBB in contempt of this scam!

ADT is useless. I've had security service with them for about 2 years - no problem. Been using the same internet service with no problems. I have cameras installed by Alder. In May 2025, ADT took over the accounts. Have an issue that ADT support said the hard drive is bad, done, need replacing, need new cameras (as they don't have the compatibility of what Alder had - well why take the accounts). I have spoken with 5 account managers and every last one of them is a joke and liar. I'm told I have quality service plan but when techs are at my house or on the way they're asking for payments. I've had 4 supposedly scheduled appointments but only 2 showed in their system. I have taken off work 3 times for someone to come to my house.
Appointments were scheduled for 07.14.25 rescheduled to 07.16.25 tech didn't come to work. 07.16.25 tech comes out says my internet is too slow per ADT standards, but you using it for security (make it make sense). I'm in a rural area. I'm not going to get the 55 mbps speed it's just not going to happen. Also had Verizon to send me an extender but claims it wasn't up to par. I told them I will be responsible for the internet issues. But now I am glad I didn't do it to be stuck in a new contract with the lies and run around they provides. Appointment scheduled for 07.18.25 after speaking with account manager on 07.17.25 who assured me I had the quality service plan, no fees will be required for a tech to address my issues on 07.18.25. Well guess what? An appointment was never scheduled for a tech. Speak with senior account manager with another reassurance, I have the quality service plan, appointment scheduled for 07.22.25.
Well today 07.22.25, tech calls says he's 20 minutes from my house, and did anyone tell me about payment. ADT's account manager stated on 07.18.25 I had the QSP. He's asking to pay $135.00 to come out and $34.00 per every additional 30 minutes he's here. Sir don't waste your time and definitely ADT has wasted mine for a day I could have been at work again.
Ask him to get ADT on the phone, he hangs up the phone on me. Just plain RUDE. So I call ADT get to an account manager (James) tells him the full story and let me make sure I can assist you and get Alder on the phone ( we don't need Alder), he puts me back in queue. Audrey (who says she is an account manager - but if I'm placed back in queue, account managers are answering calls in queue). The same lies and lies, well she tells me I get the QSP plan, someone will be at my house 07.23.25 - it will cover the cost for the tech and equipment to be fixed. Let's see how this goes. Recommendation - leave ADT alone - stay away from them.

Very expensive monthly monitoring fee, other companies are like 1/3 of there price, in my case they installed the system without connecting to their monitoring station, until 7 years later, a tech visited my house for adding fire alarms and he discovered that, if you try to cancel it will take them 30 days, and you will be charged for those 30 days. It's not for me, many other choice on the market.

ADT is well-known and I've been with them for about 6 to 8 months now. So far, I haven't had any problems except for my camera not being linked to my account. I'm pretty sure it's a mistake on my end, but I'm in the process of getting it resolved. Even though I missed an appointment yesterday for assistance, contacting their customer service has been straightforward—they were quite prompt. I like their alarm feature. It's comforting to know that if my smoke alarm goes off, ADT calls immediately to check on things.

I have had ADT for 3+ years and I've been happy with my service until this week. I have an issue with my touch panel in my home. It's NOT my internet, not my connection; I've been through their myriad of troubleshooting and the problem remains. When they offered a tech to come to my house it was an estimated $230.00!!! So this is where they get you, can't fix the problem, won't listen to the customer and then stick you with the service fee for someone to do the same stupid stuff at your home and then have do what the customer said would fix the problem in the end. Call me unhappy in Kansas, Teresa **.

I like the product. Everything works fine on it. Initially, I contacted ADT customer service more because of questions but recently because I replaced my door and needed someone to reinstall the sensors. While I attempted a DIY fix, I eventually decided to call a technician to handle it for me. I just bypass that sensor when I come home. It's not that big of a deal. Another instance I interacted with customer service was when I gave them the new credit card to set up in the system. It was easy.

I've been using ADT for about 20 to 25 years, feeling quite secure with their service. Their technology may be better now than it was 10 years ago when I had it installed in this home because other companies have more modern technology. But I don't wanna pay the cost. I pay a minimum fee right now and I'm comfortable with that. Although the system could benefit from more modern technology, I find its simplicity works fine for what I require.

I was with Protection One, and it switched over to ADT. This switch happened quite some time ago, as I remember choosing the initial service when my daughters were young, and now they have grown and have kids. Having been with ADT for so many years, I must say their customer service has consistently been really good. Reflecting on my longtime association with ADT, there aren't any particular highlights that stand out, but more importantly, there aren't any issues that need improvement from my perspective. They have addressed every concern admirably whenever it arose.

I heard of ADT when I first moved into my home. I appreciate that I can control smart features like the thermostat, front door, and garage right from my phone. The system's quality is satisfactory, and I've only had to contact customer service a couple of times. They were helpful and resolved my issues promptly. I've had the system for two years now, and for me, it has been cost-effective since I already had the equipment. Whenever I've needed assistance, the customer service has been good about addressing my concerns through the phone without the need for a technician visit. If they couldn't, they would send a technician.

We have been with ADT ever since they bought Brinks, and we had Brinks. So, we’ve had them for about 20 years and the customer service has been consistently fine overall. Whenever we've had issues with the service, the technicians ADT sends out are always friendly and professional.
There was a period when we experienced some service interruptions due to the company switching towers, but thankfully, these have been resolved now that we have the updated equipment. While there were some initial problems, those updates have improved our security system experience.
Overall, my experience has been good with ADT, despite the minor setbacks, and I feel content with their service.

I was charged $850 to install equipment that was never brought up as an additional cost. A wire was supposed to be installed so that my camera would still work when the lights went out, but that was never installed. I felt like this company was a little shady. The guy didn’t want to show me what was on the contract; he just kept scrolling really fast. I went back to try to see, but everything was already set up. I called the next day to question why I was charged so much money, but no one answered. I waited a week, and then a few days passed, and I had to call again. They said it was too late for me to cancel everything. It will cost me more than $4000 to cancel, which is double the price of everything.

We went with ADT about five years ago and generally, the customer service has been satisfactory. However, when it comes to technical issues, they often have me manage things on my end over the phone, which isn't ideal. I'd prefer a technician to come out, as it's challenging to follow instructions without understanding much about the systems. As far as the system itself, it has worked fine for the most part. There are additional features I'd love to have, but costs hold me back.

I've had ADT since moving into my current residence 13 years ago and my journey with the provider has been solid. Calling the support team quickly resolves any hiccups with the system. Over time, I've found ADT's service to be consistently reliable, which is why I remain a loyal client. I have been with them for almost 20 years now. Although my system doesn't have the latest features like video surveillance, it still functions well and meets my initial expectations.

I've been with ADT for over seven years now. Fortunately, I haven't had to use their services for any emergencies yet, but I feel assured that it's all functioning properly. Although I don't have a favorite feature, the alarm itself seems adequate.
Getting in touch with their customer service is straightforward since their contact number is readily available, which I appreciate. I've had ADT since '17 and overall, my experience has been positive. The customer service so far has been satisfactory, as I haven't encountered significant problems. On rare occasions when I needed to reach out, assistance was readily available.
The technicians sent to my home have always seemed pretty knowledgeable about the equipment, so I haven't faced any difficulty there either. With this in mind, I would recommend ADT. Their constant support has been appreciated.

I've been with ADT for about 20 years, spanning two cities, including 9 years in my current location and 13 in Tennessee. Generally, I find their customer service to be satisfactory, and each interaction with their technicians has always been positive. They're knowledgeable and readily assist with any issues that arise.
However, I did encounter a significant problem when my old ADT system stopped working. It used to dial us in the middle of the night to check if the system was operational. Resolving this issue wasn't cheap; it cost around $1,400 to get a new system set up, a huge expense considering the financial strains of today. ADT could definitely improve by lowering their pricing, as the cost was steep. The service itself was good though.
I'd rate my overall experience a 3 out of 5 predominantly due to the high cost. Despite the troubles, the system continues to function, as expected, notifying us when someone enters the door. It provides a sense of security even though its upgrade seemed costlier than anticipated.

I've had ADT for a long time. Recently, I've had upgrades and had to have the batteries replaced in the CO2/smoke alarm. When I put new doors on my house, we got sensors. Although the customer service team attempted to guide me through the upgrade over Zoom, it turned out to be more challenging than expected, and I eventually had to pay for a technician to visit. This situation wasn't ideal, but the technicians were friendly and professional during the visit.
One issue I've encountered is with the camera system and the Ring doorbell. Due to the brick structure of my home, these features don’t work effectively, which is somewhat frustrating, especially as many people live in brick houses. In terms of cost and quality, I believe the system is competent and well-priced, yet the technology for brick homes could benefit from some improvement. Overall, I'm satisfied with ADT, hoping they explore new solutions for such common construction challenges.

A salesperson from Envision came to my door and I got ADT's system. My experience over the last few months has been pleasing. The system performs accurately, and what really stood out to me was the ability to control it from my phone. This remote feature allows me to arm or disarm the system easily, which has been quite convenient.
Additionally, the integration with a fire alarm brings extra reassurance as ADT is quick to respond. For instance, when there's smoke in the house, usually from cooking, they promptly check to see if everything is okay. This responsiveness adds to the overall sense of security their service provides.

ADT's customer service is very attentive to issues if we call them, so I'm very happy with them, including the explanations they give me. They reset things too. I haven't really had any problems with the system. However, we don't activate it that much because we have dogs in the house. We had a couple of failures on some of the sensors and they were repaired at no charge, so we're satisfied with the services overall.

I was referred to ADT by my realtor, and I've had their services for almost a year now. I really appreciate the notifications that discern between animals and vehicles in my yard—it genuinely adds to my feeling of safety. I decided to go with ADT Home Security around 1973. My experience with their service has generally been alright, although it does sometimes depend on the specific issue at hand. There have been moments when they couldn't immediately resolve a problem, but they do try their best. Their approach often involves sending out a specialist, which requires scheduling an appointment, making it a bit of a process.
One aspect I've appreciated is their camera system. I have two cameras in different locations, and I've been quite happy with the quality of the Nest camera. I'd love to have this same type of camera available in both locations if possible.
All in all, despite the occasional hiccup, I would recommend ADT.

Over the years, I've remained a loyal ADT customer because the service has consistently done an excellent job. Despite owning the system for about two decades, I've only had to contact their customer service a few times, mainly for replacing batteries and managing sensor alarms. Whenever I called, I found their customer service to be exemplary, always solving my issues with no fuss.
Recently, I considered upgrading my system. ADT was helpful in sending out a representative to advise me. We discussed replacing my Ring camera with one from ADT that could cover my whole court for enhanced security. However, I decided against this upgrade because I was concerned about privacy issues, especially since the potential camera's view included a neighbor's house.
Even with such long usage, my ADT system has never required an upgrade due to functionality issues; everything still works perfectly. This longevity speaks volumes about the product's quality. The fact I've kept the system for nearly 24 years without an upgrade tells how much confidence I have in its reliability.

After a great deal of research I settled on ADT as my provider for home security systems. Having installed and managed systems like these in the past, in my home, I was excited that this system was designed to allow for a simple installation and then expansion to a more complex solution over time. I was a little put off by the z-wave only platform, I have a number of Zigbee sensors I was planning to incorporate. However, I decided to go with ADT anyway but start with a scaled down system in order to get the basics in place. I ordered the basic system and it arrived within five days. After setting up a few sensors I decided I would order more for another part of the house. THIS is where the problems started!
I went to the ADT web site to buy more sensors and found that I could not order sensors without ordering another base station. Of course, I thought that this must be a mistake or a web site error so I contacted customer support via the online chat. I was told that they could not help me, that in fact that is how the site is designed. I did find that if I waited a couple of days I could talk to a technician who might be able to help me. I was shocked. I would likely be adding a number of sensors over time in order to cover all of my property. I really didn't want to be restricted to talking to sales representatives during my work day (the only time they appear to be available) in order to simply add sensors, so I opted to return the products that I had purchased. I also wanted to cancel the monitoring that came with my first order.
So we move on to the second problem. I could not return the products that I had without talking with a customer service representative and that I would have to set an appointment in order to talk with said representative. The representative would not be available for a couple of days. So to summarize the situation at this point, I can't buy new sensors and I can't return the ones that I have without a phone conversation that would have to happen during my work day.
Given this experience my confidence that ADT would be able to address issues that I might have with my system in the future has been completely destroyed. I have a box of ADT products sitting waiting to be returned and an order into another service provider for a system that will likely meet my needs much better. At least the short chat session I had with the new providers customer support seemed to be more supportive.

I noticed ADT’s signs in our neighborhood and initially, we connected with ADT through a door-to-door presentation. We’ve been with them for about three years and the customer service from the start was impressive but over time, we've faced some disappointing moments.
One major issue we've encountered is with the cameras. There were instances when important events, like someone stealing a package or a man attacking his wife near our house, went completely unnoticed by the cameras. Each time, we reached out to ADT to understand the issue, but they couldn't provide us with any solutions. Despite everything appearing normal during their tests, the issue persisted.
For instance, the cameras failed to capture a critical incident right in front of our house – a worrying sign for us, especially when the police needed evidence. Even after upgrading, the problems continued. To top it off, we learned from a technician that we were initially given outdated equipment.
Aside from the cameras, other parts of the system like sensors have been functioning correctly, and the app provided is quite user-friendly for me, though sometimes not synced with my husband's phone.
Overall, while the customer service has been commendable, aligning the costs with the service reliability has been something I'm iffy about. Our experience has had its fair share of ups and downs.

I knew I wanted a system in my home, not just to monitor it but something that would notify authorities in the event that something would go wrong. I looked at the possibilities of putting in my own security system but I wanted something that had stood with a background and a reputation of keeping people's homes safe. At the time, my kids were young. I wanted something to protect them and I thought that I could do that with ADT. When I reached out to them, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of the process. I was lucky enough to have a local representative come by, and he explained the offerings that ADT provided. The price was appealing and fit my budget, so I decided to sign up without any hesitation.
Not having access to high-speed internet at the time meant I opted for a hardwired option rather than a more internet-reliant package. It might not be the most advanced, but it's more than sufficient for our needs. The CCTV setup is reliable and I take comfort in its capabilities. I mainly use the app for locking up and overseeing my CCTV. It's straightforward and satisfies my needs. The customer service experience with ADT has been outstanding, too. The 24-hour support is invaluable and goes beyond just cost—it brings immense peace of mind. Although the security service might seem a bit on the pricier side, taking into account the customer service and added benefits, it's worth every penny.

I have a detached garage where I have sensors on the windows, doors and so on and so forth. I have the one inside the house which is nice and loud, but I have nothing inside the garage. Should an intruder break into the garage, he would have no idea that the alarm's gone off and I would like to let him know. So, I looked on the internet and I found that there was a siren that went to my system that would work very well. When I called the Protection 1, they told me it did not exist and I could never have it. I tried several times ending in defeat every time. Finally, when the company switched over fully to ADT, I was able to get it in the mail and installed in a very short period of time.
At the moment, I have the newer system with the touch screen. When I cleaned the screen, the tamper system went off on there. I did a double input of my password and it went away. I went outside to do some work in the yard. But my local police showed up. Apparently, a call had been generated. So, that was a matter of changing my phone number, which I tried to do several times through Protection 1 to the proper phone number. In the end, I was able to do that thru ADT. Those are my two interactions with ADT worked very well and I was met with people who knew what they were doing. I was able to get things done very quickly as opposed to the trailing end of Protection 1, where I had a very difficult time because I wasn't a real ADT customer at that point.

I decided to go with ADT for my home security needs and have been using their services since 2014. One of the standout features for me is how it tracks entry and exit, especially useful with teenagers in the house. It provides peace of mind knowing when they come and go.
I've rarely needed to contact customer service, mainly only when changing the batteries in the alarm system. This speaks volumes about the system's reliability. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service and would recommend it to others.

I never received a response from ADT in reference to the below email. February 2024 when I paid my past due bill I was making a partial payment. I inadvertently paid it 2x. I called and spoke with Abbott & Costello. I explained the error to one of your CSR's and that the additional payment would put me in overdraft. This CSR scolded me for not calling sooner and told me the payment has already been posted to my account. I told him that it is in a transaction status at my bank. Of course he stuck to his story. The second CSR told me I could not have one of the payments back. I said since I paid you 2x are you in the process of refunding the excess payment he said no, we will use that for your March payment. The 1st CSR was wrong, and the 2nd CSR was ridiculous. Their delivery of the message was horrible.

We're situated in the countryside, and relied on a hotspot for internet connectivity, as suggested by an ADT technician at installation. Recently, my inability to seamlessly use my cameras, due to connectivity issues, has been quite discouraging. We've had trouble reconnecting to our hotspot once we canceled our HughesNet service since ADT said it doesn't support hotspots despite it working initially.
When I reached out to ADT customer service, they aimed to assist me, yet I encountered the same issue with the hotspot's compatibility. They were generally helpful, acknowledging the connectivity dilemma but indicating the system wasn't designed for hotspot reliance.
ADT did replace a faulty camera which was initially at fault, but logistics didn't align effectively in regards to stable connectivity options in my rural area. If the system could perform adequately without fully relying on Wi-Fi connectivity, it might make a more favorable experience under our circumstances.

I was going through a high-conflict divorce, and having a reliable company that could connect swiftly with city police was crucial for my peace of mind. I've been using ADT for almost two months now, and the experience has been reassuring.
The installation went smoothly; the technician was very professional and explained every step, ensuring I understood how to operate the system. When considering the quality and features, I'm generally pleased. Although I wish I could afford additional cameras for optimal coverage, especially to better monitor entry points like my main gate, the setup has functioned well for my needs.
I also make good use of the phone app, which lets me view recordings or set the alarm remotely, a feature I find incredibly practical for someone with a busy lifestyle. Overall, I've been satisfied with ADT's service and feel safer at home because of it.

I had Protection 1 before ADT bought them, so my relationship with the service extends beyond the recent years. The transition was smooth, and I maintained the high level of service I had grown accustomed to.
My experience with ADT has been consistently positive. The service they provide is notably reliable, and I've found their customer service to be particularly commendable. Whenever I reached out for assistance, whether it was for troubleshooting issues like sensor battery replacements or when a sensor magnet fell off, their response time was swift and their support team very helpful. The mobile app they provide also adds convenience to managing the system efficiently.

ADT is very prompt and if something goes wrong, they call. For instance, when my back door was left open, they quickly notified me to check my security status, which I really appreciated.
The system is fine, but I can't use it on my cell phone. I had another company before ADT bought them out and ever since that takeover, I've been unable to use their app on my cellphone to control the system remotely. Prior to the acquisition, the app functioned perfectly, allowing seamless control of my security system. Now, I'm only able to manage the alarm system manually, which is quite inconvenient. I've yet to reach out for troubleshooting, but I'm planning to do so.
Overall, despite this inconvenience, I'm quite satisfied with the service ADT provides and would even give them the highest rating. Their customer service has always stood out, and with some tweaks to the mobile app integration, I'd have no complaints.

We’ve had ADT for years. At one time, we had it downgraded because we live in a very safe neighborhood. We have everything we need. If somebody breaks in, the alarms will go off. For some unknown reason, our billing always includes two charges, which I suspect are separate costs for services and equipment. But I don't care. Despite this minor confusion, ADT has consistently responded well whenever issues cropped up. So much so, that we've recommended the service to our daughter and her husband, whose setup is more advanced than ours.

Be extremely cautious when dealing with ADT as a whole. This company and its reps will give you false information when signing up. Will tell you that your contract is for x years. Have you Esign on a small device and then you're locked in for more years than you bargained for...It's the only way this company can make money. They are extremely shady and will add tons of fees onto what they tell you as well. Buyer beware.

My doorbell camera stopped working, and it took hours just to reach someone for help. The support process was frustrating, unresponsive, and ultimately useless. Still no resolution. Very disappointed. Their service is honestly one of the worst I’ve experienced. I would not recommend this to anyone save your money and avoid the hassle.

I was contacted by your Associate Grace on Friday July 11th. Grace notices that my ADT alarm service had been disconnected due to non-payment. She also had noticed that I had made a payment of $360 in an attempt to try to bring the account current. Long story short, when Grace contacted me. She stated that she could restart my service, waive the $900 dollars for collections, refund the $360 back to me and reduce my monthly bill from $71 to $59. I was so Happy and Thrilled. I looked at this reset as a fresh start. Grace was so kind and very instrumental in restoring my service. This isn't enough recognition for what Grace had done. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. The Tampa Florida location is really lucky to have Grace on their team.

We signed up for ADT in 2020. Over that time we have numerous issues with the cameras. I would tell you if you are ok with foreign call centers that demean woman you are good to go. They will treat woman like dirt. We have cancelled our service solely due to the fact ADT doesn’t care about who they hire. Your safety and personal mental well being matters. We canceled.

Review of ADT Customer Service and Installation Experience. I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with ADT that has been ongoing since February. A technician came out twice — The first time he claimed the issue was a malfunctioning camera and mentioned something about the doorbell voltage, even though everything was working fine, including the Wi-Fi signal. He ordered a replacement camera, but then canceled two different follow-up appointments. When he finally did show up again, he stayed for just 10 minutes and told me I needed to hire an electrician. At no point was I asked to sign anything, nor was I informed I was being charged. Yet, he falsely reported to customer service that I refused to sign — which is a flat-out lie.
I ultimately canceled my service because I’ve been paying for a system that hasn’t worked for months. On top of the technical failures, the customer service has been terrible — Unhelpful, dishonest, and at times outright disrespectful. I do not recommend ADT to anyone looking for reliable security or honest support.

What I first thought was an answer to prayer has become one of my biggest nightmares: ADT! I was looking for a better deal than I had received in the past w/ Vivint for my elderly mom’s home 2 hours away round trip after she became a nursing home resident due to dementia. If anyone had known then what I know now I would have gone w/ a home security business where you are not locked into a two-year contract for a highly overrated & overpriced product. Oh well, coulda, shoulda, woulda.
I have one more year on this stupid contract with Satan & his henchman, ADT. I can’t afford the total payoff amount of over $700 on my fixed budget. I called today to see if the promotional guru I have dealt with/ in the past could help lower my service (not equipment payment which is etched in stone of approx $35 a month) payment from $45 down to around $20 like they’ve done in the past, & for some ungodly reason, this time this woman was only willing to offer me a savings of approx $3 a month. I told her thank you but no thank you & kindly hung up. Grade earned today by ADT: a big fat F!

No problem with the service, but when my wife and I tried to cancel service, it was a true nightmare. They had you go through a long series and questions and deals they would offer if you decided to stay with them. And to top that off, they did not communicate to us that even though your billing cycle was to end on a certain date, your contract goes beyond that date. We received a notice that X amount was still owed and then was given no explanation. 2 weeks after we received final notice, they sent the amount due to collection. There was no one ANYWHERE!!!!! you could talk to in the United States to help. Never ever will I recommend this Co.

They screw you over. You get lied to and get stuck into a contract you don’t want. They don’t give you enough time to actually use the system to see if you really want it and before you know it you are locked into a contract they you decided you don’t want.

I have ADT for nine months now. So far, my experience has been pretty solid. The alarm went off. ADT tried to reach me, but they reached fire department who came and there was nothing found. While I haven't used the system extensively yet, having ADT's security does make me feel secure in my home. Although I can't pinpoint a specific favorite feature, I'd suggest that if anyone's considering it and doesn't find it too expensive, giving ADT a try could be worthwhile from my perspective.

The absolute worst service on the planet. After being a client for 20 years I opted to add a new business alarm system and after learning that they had me sign a contract (that I did not read, but thought it was just about accepting that the work was done, but still-my bad for not reading) and now learn that it was a 3-year contract! Unacceptable! I would never had signed that had I known. To add insult to injury, when I need a technician to come out a second time to correct something they caused, my only option was a window of 9-5! Are you kidding me? The final blow (and reason for cancelling) was that they never informed me that they were installing an antiquated system that lived on an app that I can't control all the functions I need to from the app or laptop. I must use the keypad to add codes, delete employee codes, etc. Had they told me my options, I would have gotten the upgraded system/app.

I feel compelled to share a critical warning about ADT, which I have found to be an incredibly untrustworthy and unprofessional company. From the start, they employ manipulative tactics to lure customers into their services, often resorting to lies and false promises. Once committed, the level of honesty drops even further, and it becomes clear that transparency is not within their vocabulary.
Throughout my experience, I encountered supervisors, managers, and district managers who were not only untruthful but also rude, disrespectful, and excessively controlling when communicating over the phone. No matter who I spoke with, the responses were consistently dishonest, dismissive, and unhelpful. Their customer service, from my perspective, is severely lacking in integrity and professionalism.
To make matters worse, ADT's ties with AT&T do not improve the situation — their equipment and services are equally terrible. The entire experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and frankly, unacceptable. They should be held accountable for the way they have treated my family and me. If you value honesty, respect, and quality service, I strongly advise avoiding ADT at all costs. Their actions have caused unnecessary stress and hardship, and they seem to operate with complete disregard for their customers well being.

Just had an absolutely horrible experience with ADT. I tried multiple times to cancel the service and multiple times customer rep would apologize and offer me a gimmick to keep the account. Ultimately I agree and they charged me $60 over the agreed amount right there following month. You always have to spend hours trying to resolve an issue which ultimately just stays unresolved.

I am a customer for ADT since 6 years, first time I got their services was year 2019 and I really liked the security system, then I moved in 2023 and my services was relocated with a different system which was self installation, but I wasn't told that I was in Contract again with them. I didn't like the new system we got and wanted to cancel the Subscription, upon calling I learned that I was again in Contract with them and if I wanted to Cancel I had to pay $300 something to cover the contract and cancel. Few months ago I called again to Cancel and was told the same thing to pay a hefty amount, the lady agent told me that my Contract expires this July 2026, I called today 7/15 to cancel and to my surprise my contract doesn't end till next July 2027.
ADT agents aren't giving correct details/ information, each different agent tells differently, I am very much frustrated because I am paying them for no reason, I haven't used their system since we got it. ADT is aware of this because every time I have called, I told them why I don't want their service but had to back down cause I was still in contract. The agent I spoke today, said he will transfer me to Accounts to look in the matter, but I was like what's the point, they will cancel but I will have to pay for that extra 1 year contract left, which is a total surprise to me. Really disappointed customer, paying 30.00 a month for something I am not using, also ADT can see on their side too that the system is not been used.

I will never use ADT again. I was a loyal customer for over 5 years even though they doubled charged me for 2 years I still kept them. We recently moved and cancelled our service then they charged me over $1200 for the remaining of the contract even though we cancelled well in advance. They have secret charges they don’t tell you about and glitches in their system. They never have the correct address if you move. They have a backhanded practices and you are better off if you invest in your own personal security system that you know upfront what your charges are. That way you will know all the costs and you won’t be surprised by any backdoor payments or charges. If I could give you no stars I would.

I have had ADT Since the original panels came out and that tells you how long I have been a loyal customer but recently I have really found out just how deceptive ADT truly is.. My system went down and ADT has left me hanging now for over a month.. They schedule and they cancel over and over again then finally a few weeks later a technician shows up out of nowhere and then tells me that I need to pay him to be here. This ADT company has really lost their credibility over the years and so much fraudulent activity goes on behind the scenes yet fraudulent to the customer at so many levels.. ADT is definitely a security company that I would not trust and their customer support satisfaction overall is zero. ADT definitely does not have the customer's true interest at hand.. Don't fall for ADT scam!!!! They are not on your side!!

To whom it may concern, I an ADT security system installed back 14 months ago, and my system has been not working properly. I've been having "cellular failure" coming on my screen for months now. I've contact ADT numerous times, and technicians came out twice but no resolution. It ended up that they want me to purchase a whole system because cell service is bad and that they had nothing to do with cell service and I would have to take that up with Verizon or ATT who provides the cell service. So I told them if cell service was bad, why did ADT continue to install this system, if it wasn't going to work. They told me that they only provide the security service, that they had nothing to do with the installation.
I was like wow! Then proceeded to cancel my agreement with them and wanted me to pay the early cancelation fee of almost $600 dollars. So real fact is, ADT does not put themselves responsible for their products and service, they just monitor it. So if you're looking for security system, DO NOT USE ADT!!!! They are a misled company that takes your money whether the system works at your property or not. and further more, if you do for some crazy reason end up using them, be prepared to call Verizon, ATT, whatever third party who installed it, to try to get resolution which they wouldn't. All you'll get is the finger point at someone else. I will be canceling my services with them, forcefully due to this contract.

When I moved to my new house, I decided to stick with ADT for my home security needs. I've been a customer for six years now, and the customer service has consistently been good. The interaction with their technicians stood out the most; they were excellent at explaining the system and advising me on what additional sensors I might need. Initially, I considered canceling the service because I wasn't utilizing it much at my old place. However, the technicians convinced me of its benefits at my new home, and I'm pleased with that choice.
The overall service from ADT has been great. The alarm system transition from my old house to the new one was smooth, and the additional sensors I bought enhanced my security setup. Although I always wish the pricing could be cheaper, it’s worth the investment. All in all, my experience with ADT's service and technicians has been excellent.

In one word, it is a trap. Do not fall for this. After I reactivated my existing system, I realized after 4 days that this system is useless. And when I called the ADT customer care, they asked me to pay 2-year contract fees if I want to terminate the contract. They misguide you at the beginnig until you were signing the contract. Best way to make people fall is not giving the correct information which each user should be aware of. They will not even talk about 3 days period from the time you signed. I have switched off the system because just junk. Open door, Close door. Arm/Disarm. This is what I can see on my app. Self monitoring apps are better than those useless customer care and 5-6 supporting centers ADT talks about.
ADT is far behind the current generation. And today, the company is still charging me for the service which I have shut down on day 4th of reactivation. This is still cheaper than adding new cameras and video devices and sensor which were missing via ADT. ADT traps you to sign the contract first. So, my request, you do anything you want. But do not sign their contract. I don't know about robbers entering your home and stealing anything, but ADT already starts stealing your little money once you sign the contract. Outsiders can be still tolerated. But be extra careful about such Insider (ADT). I think those thieves and robbers feel pity for those homes who have put ADT sign outside. They must be thinking "Those homeowners are already looted by ADT. So just forget, move to next". ADT has no shame to continue to charge for something which is not up and running.

I've been with ADT for 11 years. I like the product. I had it for another seven years when I was at my house, only because it was sooner, but they bought out the company that I originally had it with. I've never had a problem with it. The system itself is okay, but I spent a lot of money buying the system. And when you're with these different companies like Xfinity or AT&T, and they have systems, if they upgrade their system, they give you new equipment. You don't have to buy it. But ADT wanted me to pay for new stuff. I said, "I spent a fortune on this stuff. Why should I upgrade it? You are changing your equipment, then you should supply it.
ADT sent me something for being a loyal customer. I've been trying to get ahold of ADT to send it back because my condo association won't let me put it up and it just sits in my kitchen. There's nothing I could do about it. I own the inside of the condo, but I don't own on the outside of the building where I'd have to put it, and they don't wanna be responsible for it in case there's a hurricane and it gets knocked off. However, I'm having an issue with getting ahold with someone so I could return the stupid thing. A lot of these companies are chat, chat, chat. I don't wanna do that. I wanna talk to somebody if I have an issue. But everything is automated. What also bothers me is Xfinity is part of this complex they have with the condo association. They upgraded their 5G, and ADT was not ready for that. Other than that, I have everything in the house that I should need. I have cameras in the house and locked doors. I'm secure with it. Only my son and I have access to the system. ADT is tight on that kind of security, which is good.
