    ADT was the first company that came to mind. While the system generally meets my expectations, I've noticed an issue with the siren. Occasionally, when the alarm is set and I open the door, the siren doesn't go off immediately, which wasn't the case 15 years ago when I first got the service. Back then, the siren would sound right away as soon as the door was opened. Despite this concern, I haven't faced any other problems. Given that I'm retired and at home most of the time, I rely on the system for added security when I'm away. Overall, everything else about the service is satisfactory.

    I bought ADT in December and now their equipment is failing. They want me to pay a service charge to see why their equipment isn't working properly. The online assistant Parker D. disappeared for 30 on our chat when I stated that I'm not paying them to see why their crappy equipment isn't working. I called ADT and as of right now I've been on hold for 25 minutes. This company is very frustrating and unprofessional. If you're thinking about a home security system, get it from somewhere else. It's great when it works, but when it doesn't you'll wish that you never dealt with them.

    I've been with ADT for nearly two years now, and my experience has been solid. Both the initial customer service and the installation were impressive.     Being a customer for over 10 years and paying a monthly fee, this is the last thing you expect as a customer. ADT panel stopped working, called ADT and technician couldn’t figure out the issue, sent me a video for me to DIY open panel and reset it, really? That didn’t work, asked for a tech to come to my house. They are charging me $55 for that. Technician came but now is $165! Labor + assessment, when they knew what the problem was!!! So I got charge the wrong and expensive repair fee and it is a malfunction of ADT panel!!! This is unbelievable!!! This is what we pay a monthly service fee… isn’t it? Closing my account with this company and moving to more reasonable customer service company. Thank you ADT for your NO customer service

    I was an ADT customer for over five years and gave them a fair opportunity to re-earn my business after moving into a new home. On July 1, 2025, I was quoted a detailed, written proposal by ADT representative Leslie ** for a home security and camera system totaling $3,904.84. This quote was clearly marked as valid through July 31, 2025. I accepted the offer four days later, on July 5, and confirmed my intent to move forward. However, I was shocked to learn shortly after that the same system, with no changes whatsoever, had increased in cost by over $1,200, raising the new total to over $5,100. I never authorized or agreed to this increase. It was a classic bait-and-switch—and completely unethical.

    Even worse, when I attempted to follow up, both Leslie ** and George ** (listed as ADT’s Area Manager) went silent. My wife and I both emailed and called them several times. At one point, we placed a live call and, while the line was still connected, we heard both George and another individual mocking us and laughing in the background before quickly sending the call to voicemail. Since then, we have received zero response from either of them. Their conduct was not just dismissive—it was disgraceful and deeply unprofessional.

    Their failure to honor the written offer—and their complete lack of transparency and decency—created serious repercussions for my family. Their delay put me at risk of losing my homeowners insurance, as I was nearing the deadline to submit proof of central-station fire and burglar protection. Had I not scrambled to retain a reputable local alarm company at the last minute, I might have suffered significant insurance and even more financial consequences due to ADT’s bad faith and negligence. In short, I strongly advise the Better Business Bureau to investigate ADT’s deceptive pricing practices, lack of integrity, and unprofessional conduct by Leslie ** and George **. This has cost me valuable time and money.

    Absolutely terrible service. Firstly the equipment is untrustworthy. I experienced several instances of packages being stolen and the doorbell camera not capture the event. I was told by ADT to move the camera closer to a WiFi source as if I could relocate my front door. Their pricing and contract lengths are egregious in addition to service associates not disclosing ending contracts resulting in you paying the full contact amount when cancelling this horrible service. I sold my home and the new owners took over the service yet ADT took 1200 from my account for cancelling.

    ADT is fraudulent company. They use other small companies and no one is accountable for anything what they told me. If I want I can cancel in 6 months. Now somewhere in the DocuSign they mentioned 36 months and I couldn’t read that all agreements and sign it. I have to pay three years 75% if I want to cancel and only that I could read that tens of pages contract now. I should pay 3 years amount. Seriously they’re fraud! I couldn’t find a good source to give ratings. Please first check in the market and I recommend to never use ADT. They are fraud. Mark my words. You’ll regret it.

    I had went into default for a minute 'cause I had lost my job. We ended up paying almost $3,000 to pay it off. Apparently, the debt collector and ADT were not on the same page. It took me two months in order for them to get it correct. They kept saying we owed them money when we didn't. Additionally, there were problems with tech support. A technician was supposed to visit but never showed up, and while another eventually came out for a different problem, the original issue remained unresolved.

    Functionality-wise, the system is straightforward and easy to use, making it manageable without any complicated procedures. Despite some of the hiccups, I’d still recommend ADT due to its effectiveness and ease of use. I appreciate the calls from ADT whenever the alarm is triggered, often due to my husband inadvertently setting it off.

    I'm home by myself, and my siblings wanted me to be protected by the ADT security system. Not only that, I had something stolen from my backyard. I had an ADT attendant come over to my house to install the equipment in 2017. I have a camera on my porch and in my kitchen facing my back door. Any time I have a technical issue with the camera, if it happens to be down, a technician is able to reboot it on their end when I call with the issue. They're able to assist me on that.     When we purchased our home we had contacted ADT for home security, from the time we had everything installed 6 years ago until now there has been constant issues! 1. Panel batteries that they claim last multiple years at $40 a piece went out every 6 months. 2. They put the wrong sensors on every window so that it was not even registering that it was secure consistently and led to the police coming out multiple times that caused our family a fine. 3. When their technician came out he told us that the incorrect sensors were installed for our style of windows and left notes for the company to replace them at no cost due to the fact that the system was installed incorrectly only for the virtual visit representative to say to bad and it’s not their fault and we had to pay for new equipment even though they admitted to putting in the wrong equipment

Instead, the rep pushed a massive, unnecessary equipment package, dismissed my existing equipment, and promised “no cost” while rushing me through signatures. Almost immediately, the issues began; window sensors falling off, multiple false alarms with no dispatch, and even alerts tied to the new homeowners at our old address. It took days to fix, and repeated calls were met with language barriers, zero empathy, and no real help. Despite paying, our home wasn't even being monitored properly.

    Eventually, one person finally helped by applying a temporary promotion to lower the equipment charges, but it expired after six months. I ultimately canceled the service after spending hours trying to resolve everything. ADT repeatedly thanked me for being a “valued 10-year customer,” but their actions said otherwise. ADT does not value loyalty, is dishonest about costs, and fails to provide reliable monitoring. I’d rather deal with a debt collector than ever trust ADT again.

    I've had ADT in the house for over 30 years and though I've had a few upgrades, this equipment is old already. The keypad has been on about 20 years. But it's easy to use. When I had problems with one monitor, a technician came out and he replaced it. He went through it quickly and did a fair job. Whenever the alarm goes off, they respond quickly. They call and ask me if there's any problem.

    I have been with ADT since I purchased my house in October 2024 and since then, I've been impressed with their customer service. They haven't failed me yet, which is more than I can say for some companies. One memorable experience I had was with their tech support – truly top-notch. Though I can't recall the technician's name, his patience and professionalism left an impression. I had issues reconnecting my devices after changing my WiFi password, which disconnected everything from the security panel. I was able to reconnect my door camera and other devices. The only hitch was with my garage door and deco porch lights, but the tech support guy effortlessly guided me through the reconnection process. He was very calm, knowledgeable and knew exactly, step by step, what needed to be done, where I was at and how I needed to troubleshoot. It was cool and it didn't take all day, which was a relief.

    On the downside, the initial call had me transferred about four times before reaching the right person. It took a while, but they had to figure out what needed to be addressed and how it needed to be resolved. Once I was connected with the right technician, the help was smooth and effective. Overall, my experience has been very positive, and I'm more than happy to recommend ADT to others.

    One day, an ADT sales representative came knocking on my door. My husband met him and decided to invite him in. This interaction set the tone for a pleasant experience as the representative was great.

    Upon setting up the service, the customer support stood out as absolutely amazing—I couldn't have any regrets. One amusing aspect to me is how the system acknowledges the number of dogs we have every time we remember to set the alarm.

    I've stuck with ADT mainly due to the fact that it was the first system we had, and we upgraded to their wireless system in the 90s. I appreciated the absence of wires with the wireless system. However, one downside was the dependency on batteries; if a battery fails, it's not possible to arm the system. Also, while the customer service was generally good, I was frustrated by the lengthy process required for resolving technical issues. For instance, when an older sensor broke, dealing with ADT's process took multiple phone calls. They required me to schedule several appointments and calls just to get it replaced, even though I managed to promptly get a replacement sensor myself. I was almost a month without any security system because of having to wait for the chain of events to occur.

    This led me to explore alternatives, as my other home used SimpliSafe which allowed for self-service sensor installations, even if a sensor went down. It was disconcerting that ADT wouldn't permit installing a non-ADT purchased sensor, despite them being identical to their own offerings, insisting instead on procuring through them at a higher price.

    ADT's system has been reliable, especially in alerting authorities when needed. I've been with them for about years years and financially, they have advantages and downfalls. Although my monthly bill was once elevated to $74 from $50, switching plans after I got solar panels reduced it back to $54, resetting my satisfaction somewhat. However, there's room for improvement in their customer service dealings. Whenever I require service, dealing with them often feels pushy, much like a salesman interaction. They charge double for items like batteries compared to store prices, which seems excessive.

    I'm also bit disappointed with the motion alert functionality on the cameras, which stopped working without explanation. The service to fix that issue would have cost me, and despite attempts to get help over the phone, solutions haven’t been successful because of my limited tech-savvy nature. As someone retired, it's frustrating when all I'd need is a simple in-person service visit, but extra fees deter me from pursuing it. Overall, despite minor frustrations, the sense of security ADT provides when I'm home offers peace of mind—knowing that any unauthorized entry is immediately detected.

    For well over a year I have had consistent problems with my alarm system working correctly. It will work for a few weeks and then there will be notifications on the keypad such as garage door, bedroom window etc. When these notifications are on the alarm cannot be set. After that the keypad will have a steady beeping at night. The only way to get rid of it is to unplug the unit which is located downstairs in the basement. Then I call someone to fix it, usually takes a few days. They come, charge 59 dollars, then it works for a few weeks.

    Person came out today and said it could not be fixed, although he denied this when I called customer service today. I wanted to discontinue services, but when I called they said I couldn't because I had a contract. They said that each time I called the ticket said issue resolved, so to them it was not an issue. But the issue is not resolved, and they will not let me cancel my contract. I have had ADT for 12 years, but since the issues cannot be fixed, I feel I should be able cancel my contract

    We received a phone call from ADT asking if we would like to renew our contract. We said yes then realized we haven't used ADT for years. We called back and reversed our permission to have a contract with them explaining that we should have been cancelled years ago. We were told that we could not be refunded the monthly charge as they could not find a cancellation but that there would not be a contract cancellation fee because we called before the contract took effect. We then got a bill with a contract cancellation fee which they refused to remove when we called. They are preying on an elderly woman.

We have had two long calls (1 1/2 hours each—4 agents first time, 2 agents second time) with customer service requesting a refund and no further billing. They were unable/unwilling to help.     I've had ADT for a few years and for the most part, it has worked satisfactory. However, within the past 6 months, the cameras have not been able to record properly, and when I asked a technician to come out, they wanted to charge me $60 for a service call. I protested enough to have that waived, but when the technician came out, he could not figure out why the cameras wouldn't record and his only response was "Maybe it's your WIFI". After explaining, even if it is weak wifi, it ought to be able to record sometimes. He also did not have an answer to why the phone app required me to hit "other" every time I entered the app. His only explanation was it was a third party company they use for the app.

    He also exclaimed how much he hated "Google" which is what they sold us for the door camera. So, if ADT hates the Google ring camera, why do they use it? And if they use a third party company to handle the phone app, what good is it if they have no recourse to fix bugs within the system? I'm on the phone now to cancel the service because people need to know they are not the best service out there.

    I was an ADT customer for many years through my home and business. I discontinued service at my business and a few years later cancelled service at my home when I moved. My husband (on the acct) contacted them to inform them we were moving and canceling. They emailed us for months regarding service at our new home. I discover a year later that they had billing us annually for the year we moved and the year after. They are now claiming we never canceĺled. Mafia syle customer service training. I tell everyone to stay away from this company.

    ADT wireless command keypad was replaced within one year of installation. New keypad is malfunctioning. Faulty keypad issue is unresolved after several phone calls to ADT customer service personnel. ADT customer service personnel is inadequate and undertrained.

    Go anywhere else. You will regret using ADT. The whole ordeal is a scam. Products are not up to par. Service took over 12 hours to install over an already installed system. No service with this company. They will call you and expect you to be the technician onsite. They put a camera 5 feet off the ground zip tied to my vinyl siding, the doorbell is zip tied to my siding a foot away from the door. It died (battery) two weeks after it was installed. My video camera out back tells me every day that a person is in my yard. It is my grill.

    They set up service after months of arguing with them to get this SH** out of my house and called instead of showing up and wanted me to be the technician. I have a BBB complaint against them. I will be taking them to civil court and asking for a jury. Doorbell is dead. Alarm resets itself daily. I never know if my house is secured till I get home. The door lock with keypad is dead. Why use batteries when they can die. BAD. Go elsewhere!!

    They should not be allowed to be a business. They completely tricked me into an insane contract. You cannot cancel. I am stuck with them for more than 4 years and if you try to cancel it is over $1,000. Even if I pay off the balance of the equipment, I would still be required to pay for the supposed loan for over 4 years. They also told me you can't return any equipment, which is the complete opposite of what I was told over a year ago. I am so disappointed. This company is horrible and I really wish I had done more research before choosing them.

    Very poor customer service. Lots of promises. Zero delivery from Rochester NY office. Outright lies and half-truths. If you sign with ADT be prepared to be on the phone A LOT, with little results for small requests. It took 2 months to get a technician to come resolve the constant (false) door alarms. Sloppy installation; no caulking. Just left holes open. Black drywall screws on light colored wall. I was told to "paint them". Run from salesperson, Danielle and Mgr. Peter. Danielle lied about the range of the cameras. Now I'm stuck buying more cameras to cover the area she promised I would be able to see and get notifications. They do nothing but fast-talk with no follow through. There are many reliable companies to choose from. This ain't one.. You may be sorry

    What a terrible company. All they care about is getting the service. They don’t give a crap about living to their end of the contract and expect the customer to call them over and over again when something doesn’t work.     I have been an ADT customer for many years more than 15 years on 4 different homes, and all was fine until my last move, I call to cancel my service, but the ADT person offered me a basic system with no money down and free installation no matter how many device I add at me moment of installation he said, all because of my time with ADT, I sign the contract. At the moment of installation, I add 7 additional sensors (Carbon monoxide, smoke detectors and glass break detectors), the installation was supposed to be free of charge.

    The technician didn't have the courtesy of explaining that the additional equipment installation had an additional cost, I paid 298.10 Dollars (for the additional equipment) but at the end, they charge me almost 750 additional for the installation and equipment!!!! I definitely don't recommend ADT, at least the salespeople, they are misleading and liars. The system itself is good but not the salespeople. Now that there are a lot of DIY installation alarm systems, they lie to people not to lose the customers. (Really bad from them).

    ADT service is over rated. The quality of the cameras are horrible that is why I switched to Vivint. My contract was expired & was on month to month. When I called to cancel was never told about any 30 day notice. The young lady canceled my service and advised of the refund. I knew there was a prior bill for June, but when I called to confirm the cancelation due to I never received confirmation. They are now trying to bill me to Aug and I have a different provider and no contract with ADT. Smh. They are so thirsty and dishonest. If you want quality service, go with Vivint. You won't be disappointed.

    I’ve been having ADT for two weeks every day. I call him. There’s always an issue. Cameras don’t work good, always low battery even though they are plugged in, doorbell camera it last for three or four days maximum then the battery dies out. You call customer service. Every person answers differently from the other. Bunch of liars. All what they’re trying to do is sell you the service. Once they lock you in you’re done. They promised me a price. I ended up with a complete different price, horrible service. Not professional at all. They don’t give you a heads up and then don’t explain anything. I don’t recommend it.

    It took the technician 4 hours to set up 2 cameras, 3 door sensors, and a few sensors on the window. After setup was complete the cameras didn't work with my internet provider so they're pointless unless I switch internet providers. tried to cancel the contract and now they are requiring me to either pay 75% of the contract which amounts to 1,960 or stick it out with the nonworking equipment for 3 years. haven't even had the service for a full month. completely ridiculous!!!!

    Before you sign up, be aware their system is trash. The cameras barely work—half the time I can't even view them online because I get constant errors. Their account management site looks like it's from 2003, slow and clunky and ridiculously outdated. Worst of all? They randomly charged my account $2,600 for no reason at all. When I called, they casually said they’d “mail me a check.” Meanwhile my account was overdrawn and I had bills to pay! Who’s supposed to cover my overdraft fees and missed payments while I wait? Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. This company does not care about its customers.

    The service and features are not that bad but this a review of the Remote IQ: do not get one! After two years of being plugged in, I received a notice on the main panel that there was a battery low fault for the Remote IQ unit. Upon inspection, there is no battery compartment, so I could replace the battery, but instead I was forced to call customer service. The only way to replace the battery pack was to send a tech to the house for the replacement at a $150 charge. I was never told that I would incur a $150 expense every two years for new batteries.

    Very bad experience when it came time to cancel service. They would not allow me to cancel without first telling them why, what I was going to do next for security, what changed etc. I told them this was outright blackmail forcing me to answer these questions in order for my services to be canceled. Shame on you ADT and the people that work for you. I did not misunderstand anything, every person I spoke to tried to "sell me" the same thing.

    I wish there was a way to give a zero rating or I would. Absolute worst customer service I have ever received. So many departments and no one knows what they are doing. What a shame, because they used to be good. I have been with them for 25 years. Cancelled my services due to poor customer service today and wrong or no appointments being booked because the agents on the phone don't know anything and you can't get to their tier 3 technicians.     On the 24th I had a virtual install for a new carbon Monoxide detector. The installer forgot to use video line, forgot to test for signal, and finally forgot to refund my tech fee I was charged when detector was purchased. Then trying to find out why something was canceled, I was on the phone for 3 hours, bounced around to 8 different people, rudely told at one point if want what I was asking about & thought I already had, to got to goggle and pay for it. Then when I said I would cancel my monthly monitoring because of all the bull I was having to deal with.

    I was rudely told that if I did my alarm system would no longer work. A system I bought and paid for, have been a customer of ADT since they bought out Montgomery Ward in the 90's but in the last 5 years the service as far as all the phone & virtual stuff seems to be on a downhill trend. I am so upset with this company right now, I will not buy anything else from them and I may still turn of the monitoring every month. The service is so impersonal now days. :(

    We started to call ADT, but we ended the call. Our smoke detector was beeping. I went up there and figured out replacing the batteries with new ones, and everything was resolved. We didn’t have to speak to anybody. Everything was fine once I replaced them, but I was surprised that we needed new batteries 'cause we hadn't changed them that long ago. But then again, it's the batteries, not the device.

    I received an email from ADT saying that our panel had a low battery, but I went to our panel and there was no message on it. This had nothing to do with the smoke detector. It said that I could go to my ADT.com, which I had already registered on to see about the message. I went there and there was no message there. I received that email for, apparently, no reason, but otherwise, everything else was working fine.

    We've had ADT for over 30 years and suddenly our system went haywire with 4 separate errors. At first they sent me a set of batteries thinking that it was a "battery issue" but they sent the wrong batteries. Now I'm waiting for the 4th call with a remote technician who will most likely go through the same procedures as the previous technicians. The issue most likely is that the 30+ year old sensors need to be replaced and that a technician needs to be sent to repair our system. They don't want to send one out.

    I’ve been extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service from ADT. We became customers in 2018 when we purchased our home, and we were initially happy and loyal to the service. However, in 2025, we temporarily moved into an apartment while waiting for our next home. ADT informed us that we were still under contract and required to continue using their system—even though it was neither practical nor necessary in our temporary living situation. They sent us a self-setup kit, which was unreliable and frustrating. Two ADT representatives came to assist with installation, but the equipment didn’t work properly with our apartment’s doors. The system simply isn’t compatible with our current setup, and the service they provide cannot meet our needs.

    On top of that, I’ve spent hours upon hours on the phone over the course of several months, trying to troubleshoot the issues. I was constantly transferred from one representative to another, each time repeating the same information, and never receiving any real answers or resolution. It has been an exhausting and completely unproductive process. Despite all of this, ADT has refused to freeze or cancel our contract. We’re stuck paying for a system that doesn’t function and a service that cannot serve us. The lack of flexibility, accountability, and customer support has made this one of the most frustrating service experiences I’ve ever had.

    I used ADT for 30 years in my previous home. They provided a reliable commercial system that I could depend on. I moved and chose ADT as a vendor. They installed an unreliable rebranded Google Nest alarm. It is unreliable and randomly drops off the network. I need to be able to depend on this system for my safety and the protection of my home. I contacted ADT and asked for a refund. The agent refused and also refused to let me speak to a supervisor. They are not offering me any viable path to resolution.     Started with ADT 2 years ago and just recently upgraded my internet and WiFi. Since doing so, I have absolutely no events occur according to Google Home. Tried calling (a 52 Minute wait).     I'm really happy with ADT. There’s a big difference in how I felt before to now. I do feel safer, not only while I'm in the house but while I'm out. That's a big deal. That's the main reason why people get a home security system. I like it. When I leave the house, I have the app where I set the alarm while I'm out.

    The price is reasonable and the reps have been really helpful. They did their job and the experience went positively. The installer did a great job too. From time to time, the system gets disconnected because there's an outage. I call ADT right away and I only got a robot once and that worked okay. Other than that, I've always gotten a live person and I like that experience. I'm a million years old and I prefer a live person.     I have been an ADT customer for 25 years now. Every time I needed to do something or something wasn’t working right, they took care of it. I worked in sales as an engineer for Cisco, and customer satisfaction is important because I dealt with airports and large division one schools, and I couldn’t have things go down. So, I built stuff very reliable. And it was the same for me. Mike is the best, get him.

    I’m only having an issue with one camera. And I got to take the time tomorrow to reset it in the back. It keeps going offline and online. It records, but I get messages throughout the day. And I haven’t had a time to sit down and try to figure out what’s wrong and go through the troubleshooting tools or even call Avilio, the guy that installed it. He was fantastic. He let me call him a couple times afterward when something wasn’t working right. And then he explained to me how to fix it. And I’m independent, and if it’s straightforward and the directions are good, I can fix it.

    In the house we have the main base unit, but I also put a touch screen in front by the door. And then I have a big touch screen in the kitchen. That one’s fine. The one in the front here goes on and off every so often. And the wireless is very solid in the house because I set it up myself and I make sure because I work from home. So, this unit is a little flaky, but it’s very new. So, they should have warned me a little bit ahead of time. But we were so busy getting this installed before the closing because I wouldn’t move into my house unless I had an alarm on it.

    The system has been reliable, and the Google app works well. It all ties together fairly simple. So, if you don’t have a network connection, the alarm doesn’t work, but the cameras work offline and still record. These couple little flaky things don’t prevent things from working and they’re protecting your home. But, I wish it would be hands-free where I don’t have to touch anything. That would be nice.

    I would not recommend. Cameras will go offline for days. I send emails and call customer service contacts and never get a response. They also raised my rate without notice. They were fast to sign the contact and set me up, and the first year was great. Now my cameras go offline, I've followed every online prompt multiple times, to no success. I tried to send an email because I have odd hours, no email is easily accessible and I've heard nothing from the general contacts I found. They raised my rate without contractually required notice. Finally, the AC part of the app will change the temperature ranges I place it in, sometimes overnight so I wake up sweating. Again, I would not recommend this service because the product does not work as advertised (cameras should work) and I never get a response from the company when I call and email.

    I would encourage everyone to get ADT. We’ve known about it for years, and at the time we got it, they offered a cheap deal. It was reasonable.
    What we have is the door alarm. If the alarm is set, it goes off and lets us know. We really like that feature. So far, we’ve never had any issues. It’s running smooth.

    We did have a scam experience one time about two years ago. Someone called and said they were ADT and that we had a free upgrade. We started to do it, and they even came to the house. Then they wanted us to sign a new contract. We called ADT to see what was going on, and they said, “No, that’s a scam.” We kind of suspected it. The more they talked, the more we realized something wasn’t right.

    I chose ADT based on recommendations from my sister and my daughter, even though they live in different places. I like the doorbell and being able to see the perimeter of the house. So far, it meets my expectations.

    I had an issue, and ADT tried to resolve it over the phone, but it didn’t work. They told me there would be a service charge for a technician to come out. I had faulty equipment, and I couldn’t fix it over the phone because the glass break pieces were misnumbered, so I was trying to replace the battery in the wrong place.

    Everything is working now, but I got charged another fee. I want to ask ADT about it. It seems like I paid the technician, and then I got another service fee for the equipment.

    ADT bought out Protection 1, so I became part of ADT. It’s been a while. We got that notice years ago. ADT helped me change one of my sensors. I like the remote option. Instead of sending someone out and charging me, they just walked me through it.

    I can’t remember the fee with the previous company, but it was a minimum fee if a tech had to come out. I like that ADT will go virtual and walk us through things. That was great. It’s been a good experience. I haven’t had any problems with ADT.

    I asked our tech guy at work what company he could recommend. He said I can’t go wrong with ADT, and he was right. It’s been more than I expected. I’ve had a great experience with them, no problems at all.

    In our 80s, we tend to accidentally set our alarm system off. They would call immediately, and I would have to give them our password. I apologize for the false alarm, but they’ve been great. They’re very responsive.

    I did have a couple of weird issues. I got a message that an upstairs window was open, so I reported it and they sent a technician out. They had to replace one of the glass break devices because it was giving a false reading. After I had that work done, they made a follow-up call to make sure that the thing got corrected properly.

    Actually, I just spoke with someone at the regular number the other day about battery-operated motion detector cameras. I want to get a couple installed for a herd of deer on our property, some kind of device that I can plug into my cellphone. We do have solar-powered motion detector lights outside that are not part of the ADT system, but the deer come up at 3 a.m. and turn them all on.

    I have nothing bad to say about ADT. I’m a very satisfied customer. Whenever I have to call them, a human being answers the phone. You can understand them very clearly. It’s service with a smile and very effective service. We have recommended it to friends who followed through and got the systems as well. In addition to getting an ADT system, get a dog or two. It’s mobile and senses smells, motion, things that can and can’t be seen, and noises, the best alarm system in addition to ADT that you can get.

    The installation of my ADT system was done in a timely manner. But after a while, there were problems. There was a window that wouldn’t line up with the sensor, and I had no idea what to do. I called and found out it was on me that I didn’t have the top window pushed up enough for the sensors to meet.

    I also found out that working with the video and outside camera needed a battery inside where you turn on the panel. I didn’t know how to do that. They showed me with the video. We got the battery, but I couldn’t put it in because I messed up some wires trying to install it. They came out and fixed that for me, and it worked fine afterwards.

    Part of my job is to work with physical security, so I was checking different vendors for the business side of things. That brought me to ADT for the home and I’ve been their customer now for a very long time. It is easy to use, and if you have a problem, the support is fantastic. Those are my top two things. And my favorite feature my favorite is the reminder to set the alarm. We have it easily set up with alerts if we forget to set the alarm, which has happened.

    I had an awesome experience somewhat recently where I had some work at the house and I thought that the workers had done something to an outlet and had fried my plug-in adapter to the system ‘cause I had no system. I filed the claim through the app, and then ultimately, through the phone support, I was able to quickly get a replacement part and do troubleshooting.     The reason why I got ADT was because I moved. I had two houses in two different states at the time, and I had ADT in both of them. And I didn't realize that when I sold the other house, I had a three-year commitment. So, in my billing, I saw two ADTs. I told them I sold that house and they said I was still under a three-year contract. That got rectified. I bought it out. So I only have the one out where I live now.

    I had an issue with the batteries. I had a battery go out on one of my windows on the sensor. They didn't last–only a couple of months. I talked to an agent and they told me what to do. It works well now.

    I had ADT Home Security for a long time. My husband started it. And I've just kept it since he passed. And I don't know how long, but at least probably close to 10 years. I think it was Protection 1 before it was ADT.

    Recently signed up with ADT. They told me that we would get 2 free months of monitoring. The technician arrived to set everything up and he said he talked to his boss who wanted to give us an additional 3 months for free, so 5 months total of free monitoring. When the batteries were beeping and we found that the whole system was decompensating they needed to send someone over to repair. Why would they start us with dead batteries? They never gave us any free month and when we talked to them about this they said there was no record of this and they would not honor it. Please do NOT use this company. They are liars with very poor business practices. Go elsewhere!!!!

    I have had ADT for several months when I figured out that my doorbell doesn’t ring inside my house. It only rings outside the house. When I called ADT to see if they could help they transferred me to several different departments and finally someone told me that the doorbell isn’t compatible with the doorbell inside my house. That should have been configured when they installed my entire security system in the first place. They don’t seem to want to remedy the problem so I never know when someone comes to my house unless they knock. I’m paying too much money to have to deal with this.

    So I went with ADT cause I thought that it was the more popular choice😒. Bad mistake. So, it worked fine overall the first half year. Afterwards, I started experiencing connection issues far too often! And I have pretty good WiFi. So I waited till I got my balance low enough for Vivint to buy out the contract. Once the contract was bought out I sent them my cancellation letter. A few weeks later I was expecting them to take out the last payment that I owed whatever it was. Instead they took out close to $700 out of my account. Mind you I have the app so it has everything I needed to know on it.

    From what I owed, the remaining contract duration, date, everything! At this point I’m pissed! I called the adt agent to see what’s up, the lady was catching attitudes with me like I did something to her. I asked her about the fee taken out my account that I knew nothing of! She told me it was my equipment fees and I have to contact their bank!🤔 This coincidentally was the same exact amount that I owed. Which Vivint paid for! Now I’m fighting to get my money back. Horrible experience! So choose wisely…

Their equipment constantly fails, fires a false alarm, or just doesn't work. This has been from day one. They require multiple visits from a tech before taking action. This is apparently to get you beyond the 90 day warranty period. Now I'm told I have to pay for new replacement equipment that hasn't worked since day one. Pretty slick system I'd say.

    Speaking to them is painful. They read from a script and are "sorry for my inconvenience" but will do nothing to help resolve any issues and apparently have no management above them as they blatantly refuse to escalate any calls. It is truly the worst decision I made in our whole house remodeling project. I am so sorry I left my previous company. I will be eating a loss of thousands of dollars to leave this pathetic company and that is still a better option than staying with them one more day!

    The salesman lied to us about the smart capability of their product. When we tried to call customer service to return the product they kept transferring us to another department to repeat our dilemma until we either got hung up on or wasted hours trying to get a resolution. Most of their agents (of the twenty or so we talked to) seemed to treat our problem as an inconvenience to them. The few that seemed helpful and concerned also ending up transferring us back into the endless loop. Stay away from this company.

    Rating**: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5). I signed up with ADT Security back in September 2024, expecting peace of mind and reliable protection, but my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and lack of professional service.

    1. Non-Performance on Contract, this people agreed to a defined installation fees and then turn around and billed me for a whole different amount of what was in the contract. When I first signed up, I was assured that ADT would meet all the service terms outlined in the contract, including consistent monitoring and immediate response to any security alerts. Unfortunately, the system has failed to perform as promised. There were numerous occasions where alerts were either delayed or not received at all. This is particularly concerning when it comes to the safety of your home and family.

    2. Terrible Customer Support. When I reached out for assistance, the customer support team was unhelpful and dismissive. My calls were met with long wait times, and when I finally got through to a representative, they were unable to provide any meaningful solutions or troubleshooting. It felt like I was just another number in their system, and my concerns were brushed aside.

    3. Broken Promises, after paying some month which were past due to the disagreement Couse, I was also promised regular system checks and updates, which never happened. It seems like ADT is more focused on selling their service than actually following through with what they’ve promised in the contract. Overall, I regret choosing ADT. Not only has the security system underperformed, but the lack of responsive customer support has made it even worse. I would not recommend this service to anyone. Jay.

    Horrible. System will not work due to spotty cell service. Copy of contract not provided. Charged for equipment that I did not agree to. Sensors not working. Constant auto calls that system has lost communication. Yet, ADT gives me the runaround and will not cancel the so called contract or refund what I have already paid. I had flawless ADT service from 12/2011 to 5/2025 when I purchased a new home and wanted an ADT system at new property. Contacting account services is a joke. Absolutely avoid this company.

    I executed a transfer of services from the state of NC to TN. Apparently ADT doesn’t understand what their own services mean because not only did they not cancel the old account they continued charging me for two years. Their mistake wasn’t identified until they called me for a renewal of services. They insisted that because I didn’t call to cancel (not required because it was a transfer of services) that it was my fault and proceeded to charge me for the cancellation of the account they should’ve closed automatically after the completion of my move. They refuse to take any accountability and haven’t honored the refund I was promised by multiple associates. Don’t ever get a system installed by this company.

    First, ADT never tells you that some city or counties require them to notify them of your security system and that you need a permit. I learned this the hard way because once our alarm accidentally got triggered and the police called we ended up with a hefty $750 fine. That's only one example of the dirty things this company is doing. They also told me upon relocating that I should leave all of my current equipment at the old address and they would simply send me new equipment at the new address with no charge. All of this was of course a lie and I got charged for all of the old and new equipment, even after explaining this to management they simply just said that their team misspoke but there is nothing they can do.

    I changed to ADT because it had been a company that was reliable. As of February, I have spent approximately over 40 hours on the telephone with technical. Their keypads do not work 98% of the time. Information given the customer is unreliable and that they are told it we’re just doing a system upgrade but to no avail. I have touchscreen that don’t work. I have had several technicians on the phone and in my home who were not able to address this issue after paying an exorbitant amount of money for them to install the system. Please if you are looking for an alarm system do not get ADT. You will be spending a lot of money for dysfunctional equipment.

    Warning. Do not trust this company. Examples: 1) I was told that I would be getting a system for free because of past issues on ADT's end (I had MULTIPLE false alarms with the first system I bought off them. They were never able to figure out whose alarm in America was going off, all while sending police to my house when my system was not armed.. Scary situation for me, but especially for the people who actually did need help!!!). When the installation tech arrived at my house. The tech said what I was told on the phone was incorrect, and against company policy for safety reasons. Which I can agree with after he explained everything to me. It went from free to over $1400. After going back and forth on the price. They did lower it to just over $700, but still far from free as I was told it would be.

    2) ADT was trying to charge me for Video monitoring even though I did not have any camera monitoring devices. 3) Their installer stole the security system that I owned, and was using in my home during the installation of the new one. 4) Even though they have you sign a contract. They do not adhere to that contract. I have not had the system for a month yet. However, I have been charged (and paid because they have my credit card info) for two months service. I have also been charged, and paid for the entire system (over $700) even though the contract they filled out (that I signed and confirmed by ADT's customer service department has on file) says I am on a no cost payment plan for three months.

    After MULTIPLE calls and HOURS and HOURS on the phone with them. They have issued me about 3 months credit for my service. However ADT would not honor the contract they had me sign, and said there is nothing they will do about them charging me for the entire security system. 5) When I got my first billing statement from them. It has a detailed explanation of what the next charge would be. However what was charged to my credit card did not match the billing statement they sent.

    When I called to get a explanation of why they charged me more than the invoice. I was told what they charged was correct even though it contradicts the invoice they sent. I then asked if I would be receiving another one reflecting what they charged me. I was told no. I just need to believe what I'm being told, and this is how ADT does it. So based on my experience you can not believe anything ADT says, puts in writing even on their own contract, or even what ADT sends you in a billing statement. As they don't honor their own billing statement. I definitely have a lot more to share about my horrible experiences with ADT and their customer service department. However I just wanted to keep this review about irrefutable facts that can easy be proven and ADT can not disagree with.

    I have been an ADT customer for over 10 years. We recently renovated our house and have to reinstall everything associated with our home monitoring. We tried to do it over the phone, there was one appointment that no one called while we sat next to the phone and waited. So I scheduled an appointment for them to do in person. First they gave an 8am-12p timeframe. At 7:05 am I received an email that the technician was on the way. No one came. I called ADT at 10:30am they said they will let the technician know to give me a call when they are on their way, but I never heard from them. Then we received another email that our time frame is now 12p-4p, I continued to wait and no one showed. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. This shows me that this company does not value their clients' time.

    Working with this company has been a nightmare. We invested heavily in security with seven cameras, an alarm panel, a monitored smoke alarm, sensors, and a Ring doorbell—needless to say, we spent a substantial amount of money with ADT. Unfortunately, we've been locked into a five-year contract. At the beginning of the year, we had to replace our third doorbell due to repeated failures. When I contacted ADT, they acknowledged that the device was under warranty and assured me it would be replaced. Since then, I have continued receiving payment notifications as usual. Additionally, knowing we were moving, I proactively called and paid off my equipment.

    However, a couple of weeks ago, without the usual prior notice—and certainly not mentioned when I paid off my equipment—ADT withdrew $403.82 from my bank account for a camera that was supposedly covered under warranty. When I contacted them, I received conflicting explanations. At first, they claimed the charge was for the camera replacement, then shifted their reasoning to a service call and labor costs. The problem? No one ever came, I was never asked to return the previous product, and no service was provided.

    Adding to the frustration, earlier conversations indicated that canceling my contract would cost around $180 as we neared its end. But when I finally called to cancel, that amount had inexplicably jumped to the high $400s. Beyond the billing issues, ADT’s monitoring service has proven unreliable. They claim to monitor security, yet my car was stolen from my driveway and someone was shot in front of my house—yet the cameras failed to trigger any alerts. When I reached out to their monitoring department, I was told they couldn't see anything beyond what we could. This company is deceptive, and their services are inadequate. If you're considering ADT, save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

    I purchased a new system and was told by the salesman (Josh **) that my daughter would get a $200 referral gift card and I would get a $200 new customer gift card. The salesman took down all my daughter's information (including account number). After months of not getting either card, I reached out to my salesman and he never responded to text messages or phone calls. I then reached out to customer service and they stated my daughter had to make a referral on the referral line. When she did they, they denied it and said the system was already installed.

    After months of calling and being told the cards would be sent out and nothing. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said one would contact me - nope never happened. Today (almost a year and half later) they offered me a $100 credit on by account and nothing for my daughter. I can't believe that there isn't a supervisor that can make the decision to just make this right and send out two gift cards. I literally spent hours on line and on the phone for months (getting transferred often) and no one had the ability to make this right.

    Short Version: The ADT sales representative lied about their system's capabilities and their company's policies, which has led to several ineffective calls with the ADT Account Management team leaving me stuck with months of being significantly overcharged for services and in a legal battle over access to my recorded phone calls, refunds, return policy.

    I opted to receive a free quote for ADT home security upon purchasing a house. The representative I spoke to seemed helpful, answering my questions and tailoring the service to my needs. I was quoted for three door sensors, a motion sensor, and base station. Due to a promotion, they included a free Google Nest Camera and Yale Electronic Deadbolt. The monthly service charge was going to be $45.69. However, the representative lied to me about the capability of the motion sensor, an integral portion of the system. I disclosed that I have cats and needed this capability. The rep stated that it will not activate the alarm for animals under 30 lbs. The rep further assured me that if I wanted to return the system within the first six months, I was guaranteed a full refund for equipment and services. The representative also stated that billing would not initiate until I installed the system (billing initiated before I installed the system).

    The quote took about an hour to walk through all the options, and set up my plan. I wanted some time to think about the package and shop around, and asked the rep if the quote could be saved. The rep said that the quote could not be saved, and that I would have to set everything back up next time I called. This pressured me into making a decision then, which I felt was safe since the rep stated that that billing would not initiate until the system was installed, and that I had a full money back guarantee within the first six months. The cost of the equipment was $373.43, under the condition that I would install it myself.

    I received the equipment in the mail within a week. During that time I shopped around and found that SimpliSafe provided a more competitive package. They offer a motion sensor, three door sensors, and a base station with a $25 monthly service fee. I called ADT back before my system was installed and expressed a desire to return the equipment since I found a cheaper rate.

    The rep suddenly was able to reduce my monthly service fee by removing some frivolous services from the plan, including: cloud storage for the "free" Google Nest camera, the paid service for the ADT Monitor rep to review the Google Nest camera feed during a break-in and provide a description of the burglar to the police, and something else. That's right, ADT will not look at your camera unless you pay them an extra fee a month, real classy. I decided the new ADT package was acceptable because I just needed the sensors and alarm. The representative said I should expect a new contract shortly, and my new rate would be lowered to $25 a month.

    Well the first service payment came the following day (before I installed my system) and it was still for the full amount of $45.69. I called them and they apologized, blaming it on lag in their system. They would work to resolve it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and installed my system. After system set up, I discovered that my cats would trigger the motion sensor whenever they hopped on an elevated surface (cat tree, table, couch, counter, etc). The ADT motion sensor is not size based, but rather height based. Anything above waist height will trigger the alarm. After several false alarms, I stopped using the motion sensor all-together. However, the police were called to my home multiple times when I was away on work trips in different timezones, and unable to answer the call from the Security Monitor. This was a waste of public resources.

    Furthermore, the Security Monitor cannot disable the alarm for the customer, even with the customer's verbal direction. The customer must go in the ADT app and manually disable it themselves. Otherwise the alarm will disable itself after 10 minutes or so. The alarm would be a very effective burglar deterrent since it is incredibly loud, but awful for pets. That's not the end of my problems though. I continued to be charged the full amount of $45.69. I called back in March when it happened again. The representative (Dominic) assured me they would look into it, and would call me back. They did not call me back, so I followed up a week later.

    The representative I got on this go around spoke incoherently and was slurring their words. After much convincing, the representative provided my information to his manager (Blaire) and she was going to call me back. Surprisingly, Blaire did call me back. After understanding the situation, Blaire apologized for the issues to date and offered me a two month credit in addition to updating my service plan as was previously promised. Blaire shared that I would need to sign an updated contract to reduce the monthly plan.

    The updated contract was never sent. The credit was never applied. I was still charged the full $45.69 during the first and second month which was supposed to be credited. I called back and told the representative my experience to date, and I that I was looking to cancel my service, return my equipment, and receive a full refund for the equipment and services. The representative shared (Amoire) that since I installed my equipment myself, I was only eligible for a refund within the first 30 days of installation. The rep further clarified equipment refunds can only be issued after 3 visits from technicians. This directly contradicted the six-month money back guarantee I was told during the initial sale.

    I also shared that I was lied to about the capability of motion sensor. The rep stated she was recording notes from our conversation, and would elevate this issue up her chain. Someone (presumably her supervisor) would review the recorded call history, make a determination, and send me an email within two business days. Again, no email came.

    I called back a week later. This rep (Tanisha) reviewed my account. She also shared that a cancellation was submitted on the account on the day of my previous call. Tanisha was very careful in her wording though. She hadn't mentioned anything about a refund. I poked that topic.Tanisha said there was nothing in my account notes about a refund.

    After some back and forth, Tanisha submitted a refund request had been submitted for the overpayments. Again with the careful wording. She was only putting in a refund for the difference in service costs from the $45.69 to $25 (about $80 at this point for 4 months of service). I had been charged $556.19 to date. I pushed backed, citing the previous calls and that verbal agreements are legally binding. Tanisha said that they calls would have to be reviewed. I asked her about the review process, and whether there was a specific department. Tanisha specifically said "there is a back office that performs the reviews". Incredibly ambiguous.

    I requested copies of my calls that ADT had recorded to date. Tanisha stated she would look into it. Since the ADT Account Management team had fallen through on their follow-ups in the past, I did not trust her. After much back and forth, and a hold period, Tanisha stated that my case was being elevated. She would remain the point of contact, and would follow-up with me in 3-5 business days. Tanisha confirmed that my account had been cancelled, a refund for the overpayments on my account would be issued within two business days, she was further investigating full refunds for the equipment and remaining services charges, and that she was further investigating releasing my recorded calls to date.

    Shortly after my call with Tanisha, I called back to verify with another representative that Tanisha had recorded the case notes correctly. The rep (Stephanie) brought up my account, and read off the notes Tanisha had left. Tanisha left out my request for copies of the recorded phone calls, and misrecorded the time period I was told about (Tanisha recorded that I was told about a 90-day period, not a 6 month period). Stephanie confirmed the escalation process, and that Tanisha could be assigned as the point of contact. However, Stephanie could not confirm that Tanisha had completed the process, since Tanisha and their signal upper manager were both offline, presumably at lunch.

    I also that Stephanie provide the records of my previous phone calls with ADT. Stephanie stated that she did not have the authority to provide them. I requested that Stephanie pass my information along to the manager so they could call me back once they got back from lunch so I could request copies of my recorded calls directly from the decision maker, Stephanie agreed, saying the manager would call me back in 30 minutes.

    The manager (Eve) did not return my call within the hour, so I called back and spoke to another rep to connect me. After a conversation with the manager, she stated that I am required to submit a subpoena for the company to release copies of the recorded calls. I have attached the email where Eve provided this direction. Eve reiterated the written contract policy, I reiterated what the initial reps had verbally communicated. Eve clarified that the review process takes 24-48 hours to complete, then said we should wait 72 hours "just to be sure". This was a different timeline from what Tanisha had previously told me. Eve stated she would call me back. I am pursuing the subpoena path while I wait for ADT to issue my refund. If you would like to avoid a legal headache while attempting to protect your home, avoid ADT.

    I would recommend staying away from this company. First, they recommended Nest Cameras that do not work in a urban area. They were not working and a technician came out and explained that the cameras were not installed correctly and were the wrong product for my home so it did not make sense to replace the one that was broken (one camera had been taped to the wall by a the technician and then fell off the wall and cracked). I tried to make a return but was told that I have a three year contract and they don't care if their product works or not. I would recommend just getting your own cameras or any other service provider. I would suggest looking at the reviews on Yelp and Google as well.

    Highly disappointed. Sent back equipment within 21 days and was charged 390 dollars. Even the rep said I should had not been charged. Told me would take up to 14 days to receive a refund. Received on May 31 and it's June 8 now. Inspection should been done already. Never should had been billed for equipment with their so called 30 day return with no charges as long as it was in 30 day period. Received product. 2 weeks later I returned. I am now almost 500 in debt with them. Highly advise against ADT. Not to mention 2hours of phone time just to cancel the product. Worst experience I have ever dealt with and most rip off I had to experience.

    My wife and I have been with ADT on and off for about 30 years. Each subsequent resident from the first residence has just reemployed ADT and carried it forward till present day.

    I’ve experienced customer service that has been pleasant with ADT, and some have not been. Generally, when I do have an issue, I can get it resolved and not have to call numerous times. But when I had something going on with the panel, whoever I spoke with was unaware or didn't understand, and I just asked them to route me to someone else or give me a supervisor. They just need to improve their knowledge.

    I have had ADT my current address for 11 years. Over that course of time I have had multiple customer service issues. Things got so bad that I tried to cancel my service a few years ago. They keep trying to keep me and sent me from one person to another on the phone for well over an hour until they wore me down and gave me a "better deal" if I would stay. Unfortunately, I did. I sold and closed on my house this week. I called a few days before closing to have the service terminated the day of closing and was told it was "all set".

    I am still in the house and renting back to the new owners. I noticed the service was still active and when I called I was told that according to my contract, I must give them 30 days notice, so I have pay for another month on a property I don't own. I have contacted the new owners and have recommended that they NOT sign up with ADT. If you do go with ADT, read every word of the contract. They are losing market share and will do anything to get money from you.

    Recently made the switch from ADT to another company with higher ratings. We have been with ADT for 8 years. The price has been going up and up with no increase in service and no upgrade of equipment. The other company will pay to get out of contract. The other company does not require a service contract. Just pay for equipment. I just called to cancel ADT. The lady had a script and of course stuck pretty closely even after I told her there was no way I was staying. Eventually she cut the script short even though I had previously been told she could not. Even though I said cancel today and have not had the equipment in my house for 2 weeks I am on the hook for another 30 days and a cancellation fee of $1500. I wish I had cancelled sooner. Cash grab. They should be ashamed of their business practices.

    We hadn't really thought about getting a security system until an ADT door-to-door salesman came, gave his presentation, and convinced us that it would be a good thing to have one. Installation went well, except he wired one camera to one that was only operational when the switch was flipped. So, he had to come back out and redo that and it was fine, except the splice looks chintzy ‘cause he just put two wires together, put some tape around it and called it good. It's kind of ugly, but whatever, it’s in the garage. But when I've run into some issues, they've been pretty good about walking me through them.

    We've been very happy with our coverage with ADT. Originally, we were with Brinks a few years ago and switched over to ADT. They transferred us to their equipment. We were working overseas at the time of the switch-over, but it all went as smooth as silk. My older sister was here taking care of our house, and she didn't have to do anything.

    ADT has been very responsive to any of our needs. We had a question about something that I wasn't understanding on the alarm system, and they were very kind. They took their time and made sure I understood what they're talking about, because there are so many terms that a lot of us don't know. We've also brought in and included their camera system for our exterior camera, which is hooked to the Google Nest. That really works fine for us, and it's very nice to be able to look at all sides of my house and make sure that we're okay and safe. I'd like ADT’s price to be about a third of what it is, but knowing that my home is secure and that I am the one in control, I’m very happy with the service.

    We had another service beforehand, then we had none for quite a while, probably close to 10 years. I went with ADT for their reputation. They’re reliable, and everything seems to stay up and functioning. The control panel and the sensors are good. At one point, I had a question about getting rid of our home phone line, and they said it’s fine and they didn’t need it. They were very responsive and helpful. I also use all phone app the time. It's awesome.

    We're in a really safe neighborhood but I still like to have the security system either way. I’d recommend ADT, but for us who never use the service, and pay the same price as people who are in areas that are very much more risky and the system goes off more often, we should get a reduced rate by the statistics in the area. We're paying for nothing, and chances are we probably will never get broken into.

    I have the system in my second house. They used to come out to take care and maintain the system but they stopped doing that. It was a little hard to find manuals on how to replace batteries. But otherwise, service has been good. Their customer service is about a 9 though still a little difficult.

    Adt service is not what they cut out to be. They overcharge for their service and I would never get in a contract with them. They charge 108 monthly, saying 55 is for their equipment that they don't even install then 53. monthly again for the service. They got me on a 3 yr. contract and the equipment isn't even installed cause I'd need to hire a electrician to wire up their equipment. Im on a fixed income and they are robbing me. My advice....never get involve with them. I wished I knew this from the start. The dumbbell door camera is all I use and have to charge it daily to benefit from it nightly. Always needing charged then it takes 4-6 hrs for that.

    Generally, we are pleased with the system. We had it upgraded, and then we had all kinds of work done in the house. So, we were not using the system. The cameras were disconnected through the system, but we had finally completed the work. All the windows and doors have been changed.

    I had a technician from ADT come back and he had to move all the sensors onto the new windows and the new doors, and we are back in business. We have been utilizing it on a regular basis, and we are satisfied with it. On two occasions, we had two different technicians, and they were extremely professional, no backdoor deals being offered, and they were totally above board.
