Customer service is excellent. The two people who came to my house were very nice and professional, which is very important to me. We felt really comfortable so everything was all right. My only problem is that my internet is not reaching all the way in my house so one of the panels usually gets kicked out of the internet. But it has something to do with my house but not with the equipment.

We have recommended ADT several times. The ease of operation and just being able to view everything with our cameras were the highlights of our experiences. We have been with them for several years now. We first got them when they offered a special in the mail. They have great customer service and the installation was also good. Everybody's been very helpful.

I’ve had ADT for almost two years now and I’ve had no problems. I did have to contact customer service once, and they came out and replaced a device on the outside of my home. They took care of it and I feel safe.

I went with ADT because I was more familiar with them than the other providers. I’ve had them for over five years now. The system is good, although we do have issues with our cameras from time to time. But when our cameras do go down, we just call in and troubleshoot it over the phone, so it's all good. I’m satisfied with everything except the price. My monthly bill is in the $80 range, and it seems like it keeps going up. I wish it was a little lower.

I’ve been a customer with ADT since 2014. Their customer service has been wonderful and the technicians they send out to my home are amazing. They’re patient, they know what they’re doing, and if I’m having trouble figuring something out, they take their time to show me what to do. They stay until it’s done.

I compared ADT to a couple of other companies when we moved, but ADT was more recognized and the price was roughly the same, so I went with ADT. Their customer service wasn’t just trying to sell. They asked about my needs and said, “Let me see what I can fit you into.”
The installation went well, too. I didn’t have any issues. They put everything where I wanted it, didn’t make a mess, and weren’t rude. They even put those little booties on their shoes, which I appreciated. They respected my home.
I know I can upgrade to some of the latest cameras and features, but what I have works for me right now. When we're on vacation, I can look at my cameras, turn the alarm on, and manage everything from the app.

I’ve had the system for a long time. The installation was good but the installer put in sensors that he wanted rather than what ADT usually uses. These are flat and very small. If I need to replace them or if I go online and have questions, the reps can’t answer. So I needed another sensor for a different door and they sent me one that’s completely different.
The customer service is what it always is nowadays. They wanna do everything remotely and if you need a technician to come out, it will cost you an arm and a leg. Replacing the battery is a real pain but other than that, it works fine.

When I bought the house in November 2021, ADT was recommended to me. They came out and did everything because the house was a brand-new build. The only thing I added was a security camera in the backyard but everything else was part of the package. The price is okay and the app is excellent too.
Overall, my experience has been good. I usually get somebody right away and make a virtual appointment. Then they will call me back and they always resolve the problem. They have really good tech support people.

When we moved into the house, ADT had people out in the neighborhood, so we chose them. ADT people on the telephone try to help as much as they can. The response is excellent when I set off an alarm, and if we had an issue, they came promptly if someone indeed had to come out.

I learned about ADT through word of mouth. When I moved out here, there wasn’t that many houses and ADT was the main warranty provider. Their package is good and I’m satisfied with it. And I could use another camera for the back. They keep going up on the price, but other than that, I like it. I have good experience with them overall.

ADT came out to my condo for the installation of a basic alarm system which took less than 30 minutes. The control app is okay. I use it to arm and disarm the system. And that's basically all I do. Since I just got the monitoring service, I don't have any interaction with them unless I had a false alarm or something. They've always been helpful. When I was getting close to the end of the contract, I actually called them to find out what my options were, and they renewed my contract at a slightly lower price.

I've been using ADT for years, since I've moved into the house. Their customer service and the quality of service has been good. I never had any issues at all, especially when my alarm goes off sometimes. I press the wrong button, then the alarm goes off. Then I have to call them up and tell them. They're very helpful. Any time I'm having a problem with my batteries and to redo the alarm, they walk me through it. The alarm is pretty easy to use. The only thing they did, which I didn't like, was they gave me a free doorbell camera, but they wouldn't install it unless I pay $100. I thought it was free together with the installation. I'm not handy, so I returned it. I was so angry.

Customer service has been great. They were very nice and got things done, but they were very confusing, especially with the payment plan, because we didn't know certain things like who we were working with. Eventually, we finally got the ball rolling. The installation team was very knowledgeable. A lot of times, However, when we come into the house and the alarm is on, it doesn't come on until we're halfway in the house. It's supposed to alarm as soon as the doors open and someone enters the house. We don't know if it's the batteries or the sensors need changing.
Overall, I would recommend them to somebody who needs security for their homes. The ADT system automatically calls the police, when somebody's breaking in and no one is at home. It provides peace of mind, that's why we got it.

I received a low battery warning, and my control panel stopped working. On 5/14/25, I called customer service, and they told me I needed to take the battery to an electronics store. After visiting three different stores with no luck finding the battery, I called customer service again and asked if they could mail me a replacement. The agent placed the order but then launched into a sales pitch for Asurion. I politely declined multiple times, but she kept pushing. I finally had to hang up.
Two days later, on Friday 5/16/25, I called back to get a tracking number. The agent said the battery hadn’t shipped yet but expected it to go out Monday, with delivery by Wednesday 5/21/25. Guess what? No battery arrived. On 5/22/25, I called again, livid, as I had no service and no battery. I requested a technician to replace the battery since the company gets paid for security services. They said technician fees were $160 and it wasn’t worth the expense. Frustrated, I decided to cancel on 5/29/25. The agent told me the cancellation would be effective 6/28/25 — meaning I had to pay for another month of security services I wouldn’t receive. When I questioned this, I was told it was policy. Buyer beware.

ADT is simpler than the previous service I had. Their customer service is also good. I was kind of impressed that they would help me troubleshoot it over the phone. And then they would mail or FedEx the needed components for the repair. And that worked really well. And when I set the alarm by accident, their response time was fine.

I’ve had ADT for maybe five years, and they’ve been pretty good and helpful. They were always able to answer our questions. And for the most part, everything is working properly. Their online service is also easy to use. Their price seems to go up a little bit every now and again, but it’s all right.

The last issue I had was one of the sensors being replaced. At that time, I had all the new batteries put in. Everything’s working fine now and I had no complaints. I like the doorbell camera where I can see who’s coming to the front door, and I had no issues with the quality.
The only issue I’ve really had was with some of the parts where they stick to the door frame. I had a problem with that coming loose on my door wall that goes out to my deck. I had to use some double-faced mounting tape, and that solved the problem.
ADT keeps the house nice and safe.

I had Power Call and they merged with ADT when we built our house, so I just stayed with them. The response time could be a little quicker. When we set it off by accident, by the time we got it turned back off and sat back down, they called, so it wasn't that bad. The customer service reps were very experienced and friendly. Every time I've had a problem, they were always on time when the appointment was to be. I have no complaints.

We've had ADT since we moved into our house. It's all set up in here and it's been okay. We had a wired-in smoke detector go off and we could not get it to stop. The battery was dead and we could not get it to stop beeping even after we took it out. We had to contact ADT. We weren't terribly overjoyed when we found out that to replace it, was going to cost us over $300. It was ridiculously expensive, and it had to be done by a service representative with a minimum $100 house call. Another thing was we never had the technician. It took another phone call to bypass that one smoke detector in our house in order to get our system back online, and that was a major effort. We no longer have that smoke detector connected.

When we moved into our house, the gentleman from ADT, a well-known name, came to the front door. I like ADT’s system and it seems to work well. It gives me plenty of options. My husband lost his little emergency device that he wears around his neck. They were very helpful in getting us another one. Of course, we had to pay for it, but when it didn't show up the first time, they tracked it down to make sure we would get it the second time. That was very helpful. Also, my husband set it off in his sleep, and they called immediately to make sure everything was okay. I was very impressed with how quickly they called.

Called to cancel because I got a different company. The employee put I called and said not to charge my card because there was a problem with my card, which was not true. Of course now a charge showed up for two months with them saying they cannot refund my money. This ** company train their employees to do anything they can to get extra money. The one thing they do not do is provide good customer service.

Let the consumers beware of ADT fraudulent billing after termination of service with the company. I have been with adt for over 8 years. I terminated my service and auto billing May 30. Adt auto billed my account for another 2 months in advance without providing a single day of service. I complained this fraudulent billing to their billing department. However, they refused to credit my account back for the fraudulent billing for unprovided service. I was left with no other choice but dispute the fraudulent billing with my bank. I do not recommend adt to consumers looking for honest and reliable home security services.

Never never never again. ADT is a completely predatory company. The sales pitch was done very aggressively. When I tried to cancel within the 3 day waiting period, I was told that I could either wait for 150 minutes on the phone or be called back the next day. They never called, and when I tried to call in, the wait time stretched past their open hours. It was impossible for me to cancel within the three day period. Then you have to buy out the rest of your contract, but we didn't have the money at the time. The sales rep didn't even deliver all of the equipment in my contract. So it sat unused for a year while ADT billed us. The one time my wife turned it on when I was on a work trip, there was a false alarm at 1am, waking my wife/newborn, and having the cops come check things out. Don't sign up with them. It's not worth it.

Very disappointed. Poor service. Expensive 3 YEAR Contract for State Farm "discounted" package which only monitors door l, smoke alarm and water leak. I signed up after having my e-bike and utility cart stolen off my carport. State Farm covered - deductible and told me I would get a discount if I had a security system. I had gotten a quote a few months before that included video surveillance. Sadly package installed did not contain what I needed and is too expensive as an add on. It was right before Christmas when I had it installed and with holidays the 3 days free cancellation passed before I realized this service was worthless for my needs and way too expensive - over a thousand to upgrade for exterior camera plus additional monthly fee. Over $400 to cancel.. Stuck in a worthless contract. Don't make my mistake. Don't use ADT.

Does anyone know where I can file a complaint about this service other than with them? I have incomplete service and they refuse to finish the installation free of charge. The house was in construction when they come for They came to do the installation and well, they didn't do it as it should be. Now that we're moving, they want to charge another fee to finish installing the cameras and so on. It's not fair. We've been paying for a service without receiving it, and yet they still want to charge more.

Horrible experience!!! I do not know how they treat their customers that badly. The sales person (RAJ **) lied straight to my face. Sold me something I’ve not asked for, then ignored my calls and texts, ignored voicemails from his colleagues. Technicians who came to my house to solve the issue! Customer service is a waste of time. Just keep on transferring you from one department to the other. What a headache and a scam. Please avoid and save yourself some time and money.

NEVER AGAIN! I overpaid them by accident on automatic billing. Their service rep could care less and kept speaking over me, didn't let me speak to manager and will NOT REFUND ME MY MONEY. Honestly the big companies keeping money from us like that.... Should be ashamed of themselves.

I’ve never had any problems with ADT. Everything’s worked with me. Sometimes I would think I turned the alarm off, but I didn’t. When the alarm went off, their response time was very quick. Any time I’ve called, they have been terrific and helped me out with any little problem I’ve had.

ADT has such a good reputation, so when I bought my new home, I had them come out and install a system. I’ve been very happy with ADT. They’ve been wonderful. The few times I’ve needed them for something, the response was very fast. Just excellent. Your technicians are excellent also.

I’ve been with ADT for 32 years now. They actually bought the company I was with before. Over the years, the customer service has been excellent. The technicians are really good, too. They always explain what they’re doing and have been very respectful of the property. Back when we were closer to COVID, they even wore booties and masks. They even check ahead of time to make sure there aren’t any pets in the house. They’ve just been very respectful.

Some time ago, my battery was going out, and ADT sent me a battery, but I couldn’t figure out how to put it in. They told me if they would send a repairman, it would cost me X amount of dollars, but then I told them how old I was, I’m 82 years old, and they waived that fee. One time, I also called to say that their bill was too high, and they also reduced the payment.
They upgraded my equipment two years ago, and the young man was very nice. I would tell anyone that’s looking for a security system that ADT is the one to go for. I’ve been with ADT a long time and it’s all been positive.

We like our D.R. Horton from ADT. But the CO monitor in the main bedroom kept going off. Then somebody came and replaced it and it’s doing it again. I have to go and reset the system when it happens. Their response time is great. Also, we would like to have another exterior camera but other than that, everything’s been good.

Over the years, my experience with ADT has been positive, especially when it comes to customer service. Whenever I had inquiries or needs, they met them professionally and amicably. When it came to installing or changing equipment, the process was seamless and effective. The installation team did leave a pamphlet for any further reference, which was appreciated. I found the service to be reliable and would describe it to friends as such. Regarding costs, I found the pricing reasonable, rating it around a 4 on a satisfaction scale. Their monitoring system, which can be accessed via a phone or computer, is extremely user-friendly—I'd give it a solid 5 for ease of use.

I started with a different company that eventually evolved to ADT in the ‘90s. I've had work done at the house, so along the way, several things did get upgraded. Since ADT took over recently, nothing new has been done other than my billing has changed. I've had no problems. They've always been very helpful. I think they're great.

ADT is reliable and has good quality, which is why I chose to use them as my home security provider. My system is working well, and there’s nothing to be improved, other than the normal wear and tear on the keyboard, because it gets stuck sometimes, but it works.

Having been with ADT for almost three years now, I've had a great experience. I accidentally set off the alarm once, but the response time was quite satisfactory.
I’ve had to reach out to their customer service a few times regarding several problems I faced. Each time, the representatives were helpful and guided me through resolving my issues, showing good support. However, one area where they could improve is by upgrading their camera systems to more modern versions offering rotational capabilities, as currently, mine are stationary.
Overall, my experience with ADT has been very positive, and everything is running smoothly. I'm quite satisfied and would recommend their service to others.

I only had to call them once in five years. They sent me a battery, and then I couldn't get it in. So they sent somebody out, and he said, “Well, they didn't give you enough cord here to change the battery to get the case back on.” I said, “Okay.” So, they fixed it, and it was all set.

I’ve been incredibly frustrated with ADT’s billing and customer service. For months, I’ve been told that my auto-payments would go through after I re-enrolled. Every time I followed up, I was assured it was taken care of. Despite doing my part, the payments never processed automatically, and I had to keep making them manually.
What’s worse is that when I finally reached my limit, I was told I could call at the end of the month to cancel — only to now be told that I’m under contract and can’t cancel until the end of June. I did sign a contract originally, but it was ADT who repeatedly told me after this payment issue started that I could cancel. Now they’re going back on that and essentially forcing me to pay for a service I no longer trust. This feels deceptive and unfair. ADT failed to deliver on their promises, miscommunicated key information, and now they’re hiding behind a contract to keep me locked in. I expected more from a company that deals in home security and trust. I do not recommend ADT based on this experience.

We had a builder-installed (from 1997) inactive wired system in the house we moved into. Everyone at ADT Sarasota gave us excellent service, met our needs, and did a great job. They were able to use some of the old system and combined it with newer technology, which saved us some extra expense. Vinny, the installation pro, did the best job ever. He was meticulous, patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and wouldn't leave until we understood everything we needed to know about the system. We are very happy with ADT!

I had a complete security system installed and there were many mistakes made when installed, not the least of which was that the main control panel didn't work at all. When I made ADT come out and fix it, they broke the control panel for my HVAC system which I've been battling them to get fixed. They have provided HORRIBLE customer service, not the least of which is trying to charge me for the visit to come out and fix the control panel that was not working since its initial installation. I could write a book on all the issues I've had thus far and the horrible customer service they provide, but I will limit my comments to the foregoing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Worst customer service. I called to cancel my account. Instead they offered me 3 months of free service to keep my account. I agreed. I was charged for 2 of those months. I called to get a refund. Someone I spoke to said they would process the refund. I said I wanted to cancel my account. They said to wait until my refund. 2 weeks later no refund and now another months charge. After an hour and a half on the phone they say the best they can do is give me an account credit for future service. Even though they took money I didn't consent to! STAY AWAY!! They have the worst service and will be so scammy trying to keep you on. AWFUL!!!!

The agent who sold us this bill of goods neglected to share with us that their warranty of 90 days was not inclusive of faulty equipment. So a component of my equipment failed on day two of the warranty lapsing and I was informed so sad too bad. Even if they would replace it there would be a service call plus time of repair from the tech. Best read the fine print before you go with ADT. Unfortunately I have no recourse and am stuck with equipment that doesn’t work and a service I can’t get out of until the end of the contract.

It took 30 sec to reach the first agent on the phone. When I explained I wanted to cancel, she proceeded to put me on hold for 38 minutes. Then the next agent said she had to go through “mandatory” disclaimers in order to cancel. More offers and threats of what I will lose, and 60 minutes later, she then told me it would take a month from this date to cancel and that I owed $54 dollars in order to cancel. If I could give negative stars, I would.

My contract came to an end and I requested to cancel the service. They delayed and kept on charging. Now after couple of months they are processing my refund. Hope they process it this time. Bad experience.

I will NEVER use ADT again and would not recommend anyone else to start. If you start the service you can't get rid of it. I called over 2 weeks ago to cancel my service because I am moving out of state. I left a call back number because of a 15 minute waiting time on my call. They NEVER called me back. Then today I called again to cancel the service after going round and round about just wanting to cancel and not needing new service, I asked for immediate cancelation. She advised there is a 30 day cancelation and I would have to pay for service until June 26th. All they want is to get more money out of you for nothing. Again...think twice about using this service.

I signed up for Alder, had no idea. I was signing 5 year term, they told me I can cancel any time with no penalty. Then I get bought out by ADT. I have no say. Alder would replace free if your device dies. ADT does not. They charge the battery. Per sales, you pay for 5 years monitoring and devices. I am stuck and they take advantage of me and my situation with my dementia mother.

I had 4 cameras installed at my house. I wanted the main camera to be on top of the garage since it has glass doors. The 2 ADT reps that came said they can't install it there to make things easy for them. I called my sales rep Raj **. He agreed to move them. After 2 canceled appointments from Adt which I took off from work. The 3rd appointment on May 12 they said they will charge me which is not my fault. I have left several messages, text, voice and email he will not respond to any of them. This is very bad customer service!

Some of my cameras keep jumping to an old wifi network from my previous internet provider and I have to pay for a tech to come out to fix each time. ADT has not offered any explanation as to why some of my cameras does these when the rest stays on the current wifi.

My experience with ADT has been nothing short of horrific. What should have been a professional and secure engagement turned into a nightmare of unprofessionalism, disrespect, and shady business practices. From the beginning, customer service was virtually non-existent. Communication with their representatives was not only frustrating—it was eerie and at times even mocking. I felt completely disrespected and ignored as a paying client. Basic courtesy and professionalism were sorely lacking in every interaction.
What’s more concerning is the blatant lack of transparency and what can only be described as dishonest practices. Instead of providing peace of mind, ADT has made me feel vulnerable and regretful for ever signing up. I would strongly caution anyone considering ADT. In my opinion, this company does not value its customers and fails to deliver even the most basic standards of service and integrity.

ADT is a company that uses fraudulent business practices to get money from customers. In my particular case, I signed a two-year contract, which I honored by paying in full annually. After the first two years, I tried to cancel my monitoring service and account but was asked to try again for a very low annual price. I accepted to try one more time and paid in full that year. The end of that annual period was May 2, 2025. A few weeks prior to that date, when I received the bill for the following year, I called the company and canceled my service, saying that I was not going to be paying the next annual fee because I was canceling my service. I was told by the agent, Malachai, that my account was paid in full, canceled, and I had a zero dollar balance. This was after I was told that someone had changed my contractual end date to May 2025, alluding to the fact that I still had a contract.
When pushed, Malachi told me that indeed, it was an error on their side. After I hung up the phone after one hour of discussing with them, I took all my notes and thought it was the end of it. However, two weeks later, I received a bill for $17.32 for a reason I still do not understand, because I was told that my balance was zero by Malachi on April 28, 2025. I've been fighting this bill of $17.32 because I owe absolutely nothing, as my annual fee has been paid in full and I canceled my service for the following annual period.
I heard from other customers of ADT that they have used these fraudulent tactics to extort money from their customers when no money was due. I have asked them to remove the $17.32 from my bill, and if this does not happen, I will be contacting consumer agencies as well as the Federal Trade Commission to highlight these deceptive business practices. I tell everybody in my entourage not to take ADT as an alarm company. I only accepted ADT because I used to use Protection One for many years without any problems whatsoever. This has been the worst acquisition of a company in history. There is no company with the class, service and stellar reputation of Protection One, and ADT is anything but. If you are reading this, do not, I repeat do not, take a contract with a DT. It would make more sense to put security doors and bars on your windows than to contract with a company as deceptive and fraudulent as this one.

My parents actually had ADT years ago when they were still alive down in San Antonio. And so, I just moved up here to Dallas about two and a half years ago. I bought a house here. And I definitely wanted to get security set up in it. And ADT is the first thing that popped into my mind.
Overall experience with ADT was good. But I was actually a little disappointed that they didn't give me some kind of a layout on what and where everything was in the windows and on the inside and outside the walls. But I eventually got it figured out.
It took me a while. I'm still trying to figure out a paper clip. So, that's technology for me. I'm very satisfied with the package, now that I've got the things that I need to take care of, and I know how to do it.
As a matter of fact, I've recently changed all my batteries throughout the house. And I just recently put on some new window locks. I had some window locks that were broken. And I put them on just a few days ago. And so, I'm pretty much satisfied with it.
Now, my daughter is the one who actually monitors. She can watch my doorbell camera and all that. I don't do all that because these smartphones are too damn hard for me to figure out.
The only concern I have is after midnight. I stay up late sometimes, so I don't set my alarm set. It always shows that my alarm was not set at midnight. And I just let that pass by.
But my big concern is that they're sending me messages that they're getting ready to change the whole setup on my main thing, where you Arm and Disarm.
And I hope I can get that one figured out because I'm used to what I'm doing now. But if they change that, I have a feeling I'm gonna be all screwed up and have to start from scratch again on my control panel thing.

It was very good customer service. She came through with her promises, so it was a good experience. Setup was a breeze. There was no problem at all.
The installers, they came as they said they would. They were very step-by-step with me, telling me everything that they were doing, why they were doing it and how I could do it on my own.
With the install and the pricing, I got a great deal. Ease of use and navigation, you may have a little difficulty going through each function, but because I’m tech-savvy, I give it a 5.
I have improved my service package since then, and right now I’m loving it.

I went with ADT because they came to my door and did a free installation. I had just moved into the house. I just finished moving in, and the guy came up and knocked on my door and talked me into it. And then the area manager came by and did the install. It’s been three years since. I haven't had to really use it yet, but I feel a little bit safer at night and when we go on trips that it's still in the house. I use the phone app for it.
I've only had a couple of bumps in the road when I call the customer service, but it was taken care of. The biggest problem was it wouldn't download. There was an upgrade. It didn't take it and it ran the battery dead. It was my responsibility to replace the battery. At that time, it was about a year and a half. So they sent somebody else out. He did the upgrade on it. Like it's supposed to do automatically. I put the whole battery back in and it charged. And haven't had a problem with it since. I recommend having ADT.

Having been an ADT customer for around 15 years, I can confidently say my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Their customer service is spot on. For instance, I remember being in Hawaii last year when my alarm system went off. In the middle of the night, they promptly called and dispatched the police to my home. I've never encountered any problems with them. Overall, I’m more than satisfied with ADT's service. If I were to rate my experience, it would definitely be a 5.

ADT had the signs to put up, which made me decide on them, and I just stayed with them. The system works well overall; however, I'd love to see improvements in pricing. Over the six or seven years I've had them, there have been price increases, and while I do get notified in advance, it's something that could be better managed. If I were rating the service quality, I'd give it a high score, but just a two when it comes to how the pricing has evolved.

We’re very happy with ADT. We’ve been with them for about four or five years. We left at first because of the cost, but the cost benefit wasn’t really there, so we went back, which is a testament to what we think about them.
We haven’t had any problems, and they periodically get in touch with us. I would say the customer service has been terrific.

I like ADT’s service. Right now, everything is good with the system. The only thing is, when I spoke with one of the reps a month ago, I asked if I can get new stickers because the one on my doors fell away probably during the rain a few months ago. She said, "I will send it," but I didn't get it.

ADT is a bad company to deal with. I dealt with them once before this time and when my alarm went off they were sending to my old address even though I had updated to my new address. This time they damaged a portion of the attic and garage panel, while installing a camera and have been trying to have them come by. They said they would pay for the fix and I can get the one to fix, but they won't return my call to let them know the cost estimate. They keep pushing me aside, not returning calls, pushing me over to someone else that is going to show up and they don't. I'M SICK AND TIRED OF IT!!!! Open to suggestions on what to do! If I could have given less than 1 star I would have!!!!

Just recently got my ADT installed and two of my smoke and co2 detectors randomly alarming. Have to keep calling them to get it check or replaced. I even got the fire dept checked for co2 but there is none. I had one replaced but the other one just suddenly went off again without any legit reason, I know because parallel to it I have the builder's detector and it's not alarming. Then I called them about it, they’re telling me that I can’t returned it, not if when a technician can service it. Then a technician came and just asked me if I just want it removed then I told yes I want it removed but I was told that, "You have to check if it's faulty to be able to return it." He just told me, "No you can still removed it. Just call someone to dismantle it and get account credit for it," he even talked to his manager on the phone to check.
Then I called and was transferred multiple times. Just to be told that they can’t return it and that the reason the technician didn’t do anything because I told him that I didn't want the system, because that was my opinion, I would rather go without it because if its faulty like that then why would I keep it, pay 230usd for both of it when its faulty and the stress of it alarming randomly.
Plus why did the technician told me that when I also mentioned to him that I was told that he needed to check first that it's faulty so that they can return it. I didn't tell him not to test it, instead he told me to call customer loyalty to book someone to dismantle it so I followed his instruction. Just to find out that it's because I told him my opinion that I rather go without it if it's faulty like that, and I even clarify to him that they want him to check it and he told me I can still remove and earn the credit but instead after being transferred, I was told no I can’t return it. And you have to have several appts to just fix one thing. Horrible horrible experience. I felt scam and to have to deal to this for 5 years. Save yourself some money.

We've been with ADT for seven years. I would probably say just their presence in the Atlanta area for the last 50 years or whatever it is.
The customer service was excellent. They’re very responsive. We typically don't have problems with our bill or service. The salesperson was also excellent and very thorough. He tried to make sure we had all the services that we needed and that the pricing was not exorbitant.
It was a really good experience. I would definitely recommend them.

I’ve been with ADT for close to 20 years. When I first got it, it was a basic system on my doors. The installer explained everything to me, showed and told me what he was doing when he installed it, and was polite. It was a simple system then, but now, it's a little bit more complicated as time has progressed.
About two to three years ago, while transferring my system as I moved, they gave me an upgraded system. It’s more computer- or internet-driven, but as you get used to it, it’s a little simpler. I used to have the little thing that I could set or unset my alarm before I came into the house, but that’s no longer in existence, so now I use the panel that came with the upgrade.
For the price, depending on what you get or what you have, it could be a little bit more expensive.

I’ve been a customer of ADT for 30 years. My neighbors referred me to ADT because they had it, and things have worked well, so we’ve had very little interaction with customer service. We’ve upgraded the system one time, and a repairman came out a few weeks ago to fix some things that weren’t working. He did so efficiently and quickly. I just use the keyboard to control my ADT system, and it's pretty easy to use.

Having been an ADT user for around 15 years, I can share that my experience has been largely positive. We've utilized ADT security services at both of our businesses and even at home. Over the years, their service team has been consistently reliable whenever they've come out for installations or any system servicing. I truly have no complaints about that aspect. When it comes to responsiveness during faulty alarms or signal losses, ADT's promptness ensures my peace of mind, though I would appreciate improvements regarding late-night alerts due to equipment failures.

I have ADT for over 20 years and they have always been very accommodating. I got them because I was broken into and my dad decided on getting them. I’ve moved three times and they come out to install the system. Their customer service has always been very positive. They've always fixed my issues or put in the new equipment. I use their app, keyboards and the clickers. I would recommend ADT. Any problems I have had, they have resolved for me very easily.

When I first bought my house, I was looking around and I saw everybody on the block had ADT and I couldn't sleep till my house was secure. This is the third year that I have it. Their sales person came to the house and installed the system the same day. He was great. I set my alarms using the keyboard inside the home. There was a time when I had to call them when I was asking about batteries.
I’ve told friends that ADT is good. There was gas coming from the sewer and the fire department came out. I kept saying I smelled something and nobody believed me until the alarm went off.

I had had problems in the past with my alarm just going off, and it was annoying. I told ADT I would leave if they don't take care of this, and they were like, “Oh, no, no, no.” I've had great service. With things going up, so it went up. But I need security, so I've got to pay. I had some problems with the install. I even called, but I did it virtually, which was fantastic. Nobody had to come out and I wasn't charged. I’ve been with ADT for eight years so it's been a while. ADT was the best that was offered to me during that time.

Beware! ADT requires a 36 month contract. We sold our Florida home after 2 and a half years with ADT (we had a different security firm before that). We are moving to our other home which already has ADT. Even though we had been loyal customers at the continuing location, we were charged $481 for early termination of the Florida home. We were never told there was a 36 month requirement and, yes, I am sure it is the contract. However, the print on the contract is too small for us (we are in our late 70s) so we never saw it. Their fees are outrageous.

Decided to not renew my contract with ADT, which expiring in a couple weeks, so I called the customer service number to inform them. For 10 or 15 minutes I had to keep telling her that I just want to not renew and she keep asking several irritating questions on why I was not using them anymore. I finally had to hang up after her persistent, obnoxious questioning, which was personal and none of her business. I actually thought I was being pranked it was so bad. Terrible customer service.

Our experience with ADT has always been excellent. We have had the service for a number of years in our condo. Any time we’ve had even the littlest hiccup, all I have had to do is call, and I have gotten either the answer over the phone or a technician has come out and solved our problem for us. They have always been very cooperative and helpful.
The installation went very smoothly. We had them come out and give us an estimate on 17 windows in our condo. So, there’s a lot of windows to cover, and doors, but it was a very good presentation. We made the decision to go with them immediately after the presentation was over. The install was scheduled for a couple of days later, and it went very smoothly.
Now, this year, we had a couple of batteries go down, and we had one of the sensors that had been moved because we had changed the door from a sliding glass door to a different type to go out one of the doors outside. That was very simple. All of it was done in an hour at the absolute utmost, and it is working wonderfully. I’ve also used the online service to pay a bill or inquire, and it works beautifully. Overall, we’ve always had very good service. Don’t hesitate and go for it. Your safety in your own home is utmost.

Twenty years ago, we were going to Texas to see our son with a new grandbaby. It was winter and in Minnesota, pipes break. We wanted an alarm that if the furnace went off, my son who lives in Minnesota could come. That’s why we got ADT. We’ve never had any problems with them and we just kept it.
Customer service is great and the limited times that I’ve had to contact them, it’s been perfect. Recently, I had to call because the alarm was going off and I hate that sound when they start beeping. I’m old so I can’t step up on ladders to change batteries. They were very helpful and got somebody here that same day. The technician checked all of them and the others while he was here so I was really appreciative.

Hands down WORST. Customer. Service. Ever! Get your security elsewhere. We are long time customers of theirs and they treated us horribly in the end. After years of loyalty when it came time to cancel our service they bounce you from dept to dept and keep you on hold forever! You have to explain to a new person every time they transfer you. In the end they charge you an arm and a leg to cancel your service!! Do NOT work with them!!

I find ADT superior to my prior service I had for 30 years. They were getting outdated and ADT was very effective. The initial customer service experience was excellent. I was happy with it. The install was also effective. They were able to use my existing contacts from my prior system and install some new ones to give us broader coverage. They forgot to connect one contact, so I had them come back. But they got back immediately and the service was very great. I recommended them to my two daughters and both of them have gone to ADT.

ADT acquired my existing alarm service, which I have been using for 11 years, and the transition was smooth.
Recently, I did have ADT come out to replace my doorbell, which was a positive experience. The customer service has been consistently very good.
I'd happily rate my experience with ADT a perfect 5. Even as someone who is 75, I would give their technology usability a 5. It's been very easy for me to manage.

I chose ADT because I knew they had 24‑hour monitoring, and it was easy to connect with them. A salesperson came and did a short presentation, and they had a special offer for joining. It looked good, so we decided to go with them.
The installation went well. The installer was very professional and had done it many times. He promptly went to work, connected us to the internet, and handled all the local alarm installation.
I had a very positive experience. A neighbor asked who our monitoring service was, and we told them we chose ADT. I believe they went with ADT as well.
I had a little trouble finding the exact monitoring question I was looking for, so maybe the features could be cataloged a bit better. I was confused about when to use my ADT versus the app on my phone. I thought I could go into test mode directly from the app, but the only way I know how is through my ADT. I’d suggest expanding the features in the app.

Quick update for context of how bad you are. 1. Ordered a battery for a motion sensor. (Can't get it back together as it is very old.) 2. Called for service and the service guy changed it, overcharged me, but it's not fixed on the alarm panel. 3. Let the tech use my bathroom and suddenly I have a bathroom tamper message that will not go away even after being on the phone with you at 1am for a long time. 4. Was promised I would get a call and a senior tech would be at my house on Monday. 5. Sunday I called you and there is no appointment set, I was told to hold on and you hung up on me and never called back. 6. Monday I call and they want to send someone out in a few days.. (I was told a manager would call me in ten minutes. Still nothing!) I am moving on from a company that lies, overcharges me and hangs up on me.

I never write reviews, but ADT has pushed me to speak up. I’m a disabled veteran, still serving under official military orders, and ADT’s treatment of me has been nothing short of disgraceful. Despite providing my orders, they refuse to cancel late penalties because the “created date” on the orders wasn’t recent enough. That logic makes no sense to anyone who’s served—we don’t get our orders the day they’re created. Sometimes it takes months to even see them. But ADT doesn’t care. Not to mention that they are quite literally breaking the law according to the “service members civil relief act” SCRA.
Let me be blunt: 22 veterans a day take their own lives, many battling stress, debt, and lack of support. Companies like ADT could be part of the solution—but instead, they pile on, ignoring context, refusing to work with us, and hiding behind fine print. This isn’t just about a few dollars—it’s about how you treat people who sacrificed their health and well-being for this country. Personally, I’ve dealt with more than enough—physical injuries, mental battles, and the chaos that comes with military life—and now I have to fight a home security company just to be treated with basic decency? Shameful. If you’re military, active duty, or a veteran: look elsewhere. This company isn’t for us. ADT talks a big game about supporting the troops, but when it really counts, they choose profits over people.

I had ADT installed a long time ago. The process was pretty smooth and the tech was cool. Everything was pretty good. They showed me how to use everything once they finished installing. I would recommend them.
The only bad thing I would say is the equipment. They don't send texts to change batteries and some of the equipment is just outdated. But to change the batteries out, sometimes when you change the covers, some of them will break. That's the only downside.

It was done professionally. And they have high-quality products. The system works fine. I like the fact that it is a wireless system. So, I don’t have any complaints with them.

Atrocious! I’ve been a customer for 8 years. We were displaced from our home last year and asked for a relocation. They made us sign a new contract for 5 years. 1 year later, we are trying to go back to our home and they didn’t even show up to the appointment to install our system. I called 2 hours in and they told me it was cancelled, eventhough I wasn’t notified. I sat on the phone for 2 hours, called back two days later and another appointment had been cancelled. Now they’re telling me they’ll contact me in 5 business days to SCHEDULE the installation, despite them being the ones who are 4 days late already! We’re still being charged, although our system isn’t connected. When we threatened to cancel if they didn’t act to remedy their mistakes, they told us we would have to pay and $1800 termination fee! Absolutely terrible service for long term customers who have never given them any issues! Very upset!

I've been with ADT almost 12 years. They gave me one remote key. They don't offer me anything. Not a free replacement or wear and tear replacement. Nothing. Then when you get on hold for 30 minutes you get disconnected so I'm paying for a system $60 and some change just for my doors and a couple windows but my sliding glass doors somebody can break in them and won't even know about it.
They don't offer no discounts or even give me glass breaking sensors so I'm a little frustrated badly because there's other places out there that offer free stuff like that and with the package deal and I can still pay only $60 a month. They want to charge you for everything. Having an online access to your own home to ADT account you got to pay for it which is ridiculous. Never heard of it but I don't understand long time customers they don't take care of that good at all. Treat them like new customers. Made my payment on time every month for the last 12 years. Never miss no payment. From a little little frustrated and really angry because they offer me anything.

I cannot believe my request for refund was denied..... Transaction Dispute $242.82 – Dated April 12, 2025; Dispute Number **. I am disputing $183.82 of the charge occurring on April 12th. $59.00 was waived, but ADT should reverse the entire $242.82. I should include also that we have Altafiber to service our home internet. On April 5th, an ADT technician came to the house to install a Nighthawk mesh system, which included installation and testing, at a cost of $510.13. I was aware of that price and am paying that as agreed. Up until that date, our cameras, including our doorbell/camera, were not working properly. However, our Alta-Fiber internet Wi-Fi had been working very well prior to the April 5th visit.
Upon arrival, the technician advised that the Nighthawk mesh would service both our internet and doorbell/security cameras adequately and rendered our existing Altafiber internet equipment obsolete. Therefore, the technician refused to, and didn’t want to, reset/reboot all the cameras, but instead asked us for our Altafiber internet Wi-Fi password. Since the technician knew what was needed, we trusted this ADT rep to be the expert in this case. He left our house having negligently not performed complete testing to ensure that both our cameras and the internet worked properly, since he’s the one who advised that the Nighthawk mesh would become our “one-size fits all.
Minutes after the technician left on April 5th, we quickly discovered that while our cameras and doorbell seemed to now work properly, our internet wi-fi became inoperable. The technician was incorrect in that the Nighthawk mesh would also work and replace our Alta-Fiber equipment. After our discovery, the technician ignored my repeated attempts to have him return to the house that morning, or that day, to properly complete the assigned agreement.
To summarize, we now had no home internet after he left on April 5th. During the phone conversation during which we set up the April 5th appointment, anADT rep told my wife that the Nighthawk equipment and our Alta Fiber set up did not “talk” to each other, and that both were needed for adequate internet service – and proper camera/doorbell functionality. That was very inconsistent to what the technician informed us in our house on April 5th – that only the Nighthawk mesh was needed. That obviously further added to our confusion and anger. After the neglect, I called the ADT Customer Service again and was frustrated to be told that the next available time for any technician to return would be that following Friday, April 11th.
My wife works from home at a Call-Center. The requirement of her consistently needing the internet for her job is paramount and is non-negotiable. The Internet is critical for my needs as well. Therefore, we unplugged the Nighthawk (that’s all we did), as a band aid, so our internet could be temporarily restored. We could not go without internet from April 5th through April 11th, waiting for ADT to get around to seeing us again. Except for a $59.00 trip charge credit, the Customer Service Supervisor did not resolve the issue. She kept referring that we “tampered” with the equipment, and she refused to listen to any context.
The technician returned on April 11th, and the cameras and internet now seem fine. However, I was appalled that we were charged a separate $242.82 on my Visa for this return visit. If the technician had not tried to cut corners, and tested everything properly – basically doing his job – ADT would not have had to come back out on April 11th.

ADT is by far the worst home security company, ever! Customer service and technical help when your system doesn't work properly doesn't exist. Multiple times, my system needed maintenance and after countless hours on the phone, explaining the situation to multiple representatives (because you get transferred 3+ times), the wrong equipment is sent and you still have to pay for their mistakes. They will NEVER refund you for their mistakes. Also, you're locked into contracts, without your consent. ADT broke the last "contract" I was supposedly on and still want me to pay....For canceling their awful service. ADT will scam consumers to make money, it's despicable. They need to be a part of DOGE Disposal. Do not get service through ADT, you will regret it.

Warning!! ADT will try to take advantage and charge you a fortune for equipment!! My 86 year old father had ADT and only needed to upgrade to connect to his cell phone since he got rid of his land line. I later found out ADT took advantage and installed $2K in equipment that he never needed and put him on a payment plan!! When my Father passed away suddenly I notified ADT. Then ADT wanted All their money immediately! Beware!!!! I would not recommend ADT!! I have Guardian and would definitely recommend Guardian.

I have been an ADT customer for over 6 years. All of the equipment I have from them under the original contract has been paid. I only receive monitoring service from them. I called today to cancel service I no longer and not using. I was told I had a new contract added in 2024, that I don’t recall signing up for, and it is a three year contract until 2027. I was told it would cost over $900 to cancel the contract because I have time remaining. And this contract is only for monitoring and not for equipment. Asked to speak to someone else and I was also told there was no one I could talk to and that I would have to MAIL in a written complaint.
At the beginning of the call I was told the process would take about 10 minutes. I told the agent my decision was final and I couldn’t be persuaded to change my mind. The agent spent the next 10 minutes asking questions designed to convince me to stay. There were long pauses between these questions which I felt like were designed to prolong the call hoping I might be convinced not to cancel. At the last step of the call the agent finally revealed it would cost me over $900 to cancel due to the remainder of my contract.
I do not recall agreeing to a new contract in 2024 or ever being told of a cost to discontinue service. If I was leasing equipment I would expect a cost, but I would not have expected a termination cost just for monitoring service. I believe ADT is intentionally making it difficult and costly to for customers to disconnect. The drawn out questions, the lack of a way to escalate the call, and having to mail in a compliant are all hurdles to cancelling service. If this issue can’t be resolved for me, please look into ADT’s cancellation process to protect future customers.

I would never recommend signing a contract with ADT. Attempting to cancel your services is nearly impossible. Funny how if you want to purchase something, hold is less than a minute. Want to cancel? There is at least a 15 minute wait, or they will disconnect while transferring you to the appropriate department. I'm sure this is by design. I've been trying to cancel services for a week now. I've tried chat, go through a 20 minute chat session only for them to say we are unable to complete your request, call customer service. It took me 7 whole days to disco my service. Then they have the nerve to ask if you want to transfer service. No way ever. Worst customer service experience ever at the worst time when you are going through the regular stresses of moving!

The system was good until it started to malfunction. If the system cannot be repaired remotely the customer is responsible for a service call and repair. Wait times for customer service are very long. After saying I just wanted to cancel I was told that if I was willing to have someone come out and fix it they could put a note in my account that there would be no charges. I agreed and when service arrived I was told there was no such note and ended up paying $79.85. I was told by service that I had an older system and if they need to come back and replace it my bill would go up “because it’s like when you do a phone upgrade, the bill goes up.” A month and a half have gone by and again the system is malfunctioning.
Tried to cancel after sitting on hold for a long time only to have someone try to sell me an upgrade, they could lower the price, wouldn’t I like to still keep the doorbell camera. After 45 minutes and telling the representative that I don’t want anything repeatedly she finally said she would cancel the account. I expected an email confirmation but none came so after a few hours I called customer service and was told they can’t send it only a manager can. Asked to be put through to a manager and was told the cancellation is pending and an email wouldn’t be sent until it was completed. When I asked how long that would be I was told it could be up to 3 weeks. I had to remove the batteries from the sensors that were going off in order to stop the stupid thing from giving repeatedly erroneous messages. Will have to wait and see if I’ll be dealing with this beyond 3 weeks.

ADT is horrible, if it weren’t for the fact that the system was already up when we moved it we wouldn’t use them. Anytime something goes wrong they charge you hundreds of dollars to fix it… Something as little as fixing a sensor will cost you about $100 minimum… I won’t recommend ADT to anyone. Our systems go down a lot and we have Cox internet so it’s not our internet even though they try to blame it on that.

I specifically went with ADT because I was told after my 3 year contract, I would still be able to log on to my ADT account and view my cameras, arm/unarm my system and set off the alarm, and that's how it was for year 4 and 5 but today I went on the app to find myself logged out. I called service and they said I can no longer view it since I no longer have a subscription. I told the service rep that I have been able to view my cameras for the past 2 years without service and that is specifically why I went with ADT. She said they gave me wrong information when I initially got their service 5 years ago. This company bait and switched me and now I need to find a new service. It is so, so sad to see such a large company mislead their clients.

They are the worse alarm company. The customer service representatives are not educated in the smallest function, and you need to be transferred to several people because of lack of education or is it trust in their customer service reps. They charge for everything that they possibly can and they make it so hard for someone to come out especially if it is a vacation home that you are not living in. If I were you, I would go to anyone but this company. When you cancel your service, they make you pay for an entire 30 days after you canceled. Even if the new owners start service and they charge them. What cheats....

Cameras are horrible for night. Technician came back out. Told me that they installed cameras 2 days ago, that all the sudden they stopped making. My ring doorbell, my Slomins cameras are 10x better than ADT. I do not recommend!

ADT virtually forces you to keep paying monthly charges even when all installations are paid off. Read the contract before you sign and if you are one who takes poor customer service serious and may decide to move on, do not sign. The engineer I spoke to on the phone wanted me to unscrew a wall socket which had wires dangling below it and I refused to touch it. They decided to charge me to send someone over amidst a series of previous service failures.

Deceptive, misleading. Buyer beware! Stay away from this company. I purchase test a Google Camera that was no longer working. And without my knowledge, my contract was extended from that day on. They will show you documents that you apparently signed which to you. It looks like you're signing for services that were performed. Never again with company, hopefully it goes bankrupt. I would have never purchased a camera if I had known my contract. Would have been extended three more years. Deception at its finest.

Wish I could do NO Stars. They are a joke. They tell you what you want to hear in the beginning then slap you with a three-year contract even though I was told I could cancel anytime without a problem. But was told it would be over 1,000 dollars to cancel per the contract... OH and guess what. I can't look up the contract... It went missing from the files online.... I waited three years to cancel, and they said, "OH Sure no problem, you are canceled." I EVEN ASKED am I done paying bills? She told me yes.... THEN!!!! I get a bill in the mail, they said it was because they have a 30-day cancelation policy.... WHICH THEY NEVER TOLD ME!!!! It wouldn't be bad if they were honest, but they lie.... LIE... LIE... Get everything in writing. Don't let them trick you. Over the phone they tell you whatever you wish... DON'T Use them.

The sales rep talked to my husband and got him to sign up for a security system that was not what he was requesting or had in mind. After realizing we attempted to call many times to only be told they couldn’t find an account for us. After receiving the equipment we were able to speak with someone in regard to returning for a refund and cancelling services. They received equipment on April 25th with a signed confirmation but are advising they will process refund in 10-15 business days which is unacceptable. You cannot receive equipment and hold someone else’s funds for a long period of time before processing the request. The entire process has been dreadful and customer service is awful.

I had a prior security service and changed to ADT. I’ve had no false alarm yet. Their system is very reliable, and it has a good app. The installation went well, and I haven't had any problems with the equipment. It’s easy to set and turn off. Sometimes I set it off myself, and I’ll get a call. They're really responsive when that happens and they get the issue resolved. The pricing is a little higher that my previous service, which is what I expected because the service is better. I got exactly what I wanted with my system, and I’m satisfied with it.

I haven't had any issues with ADT. I’ve been with them since I purchased my home in 2017. Any time I've called, I've been able to get assistance and take care of whatever needed to be addressed. When they came to do repairs, they did what they were supposed to do, updated me on what was taking place, left the paperwork, and that was it. It's seamless. Everything's straightforward.

My family and I, are extremely disappointed with my experience with ADT Alarm Company. The sales representative provided misleading assurances about the system’s reliability and effectiveness, which have proven to be false. The installation was rushed and poorly executed, resulting in ongoing issues. Within just a month, several sensors have become unreliable, frequently triggering false alarms due to faulty batteries and system errors. You will have to buy batteries, a lot! Additionally, we paid $3,500 upfront for the system, but during installation, we were unexpectedly charged an extra $1,200. The $800 transfer of service fee, which should have been processed and waived automatically, was instead met with threats of collection efforts, an aggressive and unprofessional approach.
Given these issues, I cannot recommend ADT as a trustworthy alarm provider. I expect a prompt resolution, including the replacement of all faulty equipment and a clear explanation of all charges incurred. Please see the attached installation photos highlighting the poor workmanship and the issues encountered. Stay away from Nest Cameras, Horrible!

On Christmas Day, I got a bill from the County telling me I owed them for a call, and they responded to a fire or police emergency because my alarm went off. I don’t know how that’s possible because I was here. They said it went off and they sent the police, so I had to pay.
I haven’t had the alarm really go off. Occasionally, it has gone off in the first year a couple of times, but we just turned it off. Still, I’m very satisfied with ADT's service.

I look at the cameras and they work. And the control panel works. And we've got a little plug-in thing that has a lamp hooked up to it, that works. The only thing I don't like is the installation up in the attic.
The electricity from a light switch is okay, but the wires were just thrown all over. I store stuff up there and I still have to roll up the cord a little bit. It was a very messy job. The guy could have rolled it up there, zip-tied it or something instead of just leaving it lying up there. If you want to do a professional job, do it all the way through. It's a professional unit and it should be professional all the way through.

ADT’s customer service is very good. All my experiences with them have been positive. However, I am not happy with my current package because it's not good and needs to be upgraded at some point. It will cost me some and I can't afford to do it right now. Also, I have to use two different apps for my system. One app is for accessing my camera which was from the old company. And to turn it on and off, I have to use the new app from ADT. That is inconvenient.

ADT does a good job. We’ve had them since we built the house in 2000. We would arm and disarm the system on the keypad or our phones from the app. We’ve had a false alarm and we were able to stop it. We shut it off then we got all the emails and text messages. Lots of people in customer service don't speak good English and I had a problem with those people. But most of the time, as long as the reps speak English, they're okay.

I have had ADT for 20 some years, and I recently added to my security system. They explained everything that I wanted, came out, and did the installation. There is never a problem with ADT, and if I have a problem, I call them and we work through it together. They are very easy to work with. Their app is very easy to use too. Customer experience has been excellent, and I would definitely recommend them.

I had ADT in my condo back in 1995. Since then, I’ve stayed with them, on and off. They’ve never let me down, and I’ve never had any issues. They always call when there’s anything suspicious. I’m confident that they protect my house.
Recently, I had a technician who upgraded my system. He told me what would and wouldn’t work well. Based on that, I upgraded my system to include a carbon monoxide detector, apart from the security and smoke detector that I already have. That was a good experience. I also had a sensor that didn’t work, and they fixed it over the phone very quickly. They're easy to work with.
The smoke detector went off once as I was cooking. ADT called the fire department, and they were out here. I just seared something and created smoke on something. But it worked. They did what they were supposed to do, and I had help here relatively quickly. They’re very consistent. It’s a relief to know that whether I’m here or not, it’s covered. I’ve been very happy with them.

I’ve been a customer with ADT for about three years. The customer service has been pretty good. The only issue I’ve had is that when we try to get someone to come out when we have a problem, we have to go through so many changes to get them here.

I love ADT. Their customer service is excellent and the price is good. I had a false alarm because I have a habit of opening up my front door without turning the alarm system on. So I come in and I disconnect the alarm systems. They send me a text stating that I turned it on. Then a few minutes later, somebody will get on. I have a speaker there and they ask me for my name and my passcode and if everything is okay. Then they check it and hang up.

ADT works perfectly for me. I’ve had them since 2013. I like the instant alarm and keyfob features. I get good customer service whenever I call if I have a problem with the battery. They've been very good for me. I recommend them.

Our house was robbed two years ago. I went to Home Depot to pick up cameras myself and I said, ''I can't do this. It was beyond anything that I’m capable to do.'' so I brought the cameras back. And my wife went online and she found ADT. Their price is good. The installation went fine. The technician was very helpful. He was done in two hours.

I already had a security system in the house when it was built but I wanted to update it with cameras. I got the ADT system and I love it. It’s very new and tied into Google. It’s very easy use too. The young man who came to install it was great and he took his time with me to go through all the features.
I contacted them once shortly after the equipment was installed. I thought it went off by mistake and the police came. But what happened was my water line broke and it hit one of the windows. The window went off because someone touched it and the system did exactly what it should have done. The tech that I was on the phone with explained to me where it hit and what happened. He was very familiar with the system and I felt comfortable with that.

I purchased an ADT Security system back in 2023. I was told by the sales person (because I specifically asked) what happens when and if I move. He informed me that it's an EASY process and at no cost to me. I just needed to call ADT and tell them I'm moving, and ADT would send someone out to install my existing system, at NO CHARGE to me. Where I currently live. I have about 18 windows, I'm moving into a mobile home with less then half that amount. I was just told by ADT that, my current system is old (2 yrs) and that they don't take down anything, I would be essentially starting a new contract and would have to pay $189 for fewer window systems. I would NOT have gone with this company had I known the TRUTH. Their sales people, I suppose will say ANYTHING to make the sale. And NO, I did not sit and read the tiny print however many pages there were. I took him at his word that he was telling the truth.

We travel a lot. And my son was working. And I didn't like leaving the house without something there. So we got ADT to keep an eye on everything. The installation took about an hour. And we had issues with a couple of the monitors. So, they took those back. And then it took about a week because they had to reorder them. But other than that, we haven't had any problems with it.
Go with ADT because the price was reasonable. And we have not had any issues with their equipment.

We update a panel, and it costs more. The panel itself costs $700 something more than we originally installed years ago. It was over a thousand dollars. When we upgrade the panel, it costs us another $700 something. So I'm not happy with it, but I just wanna update. I thought you would purchase one and update it shouldn't be any cost, but it cost. But you gotta do what you gotta do, I suppose. It's touchscreen. It's nice and everything, but we don't do anything exciting. Pretty much just monitor security, that's all we use it for. They're a good company. But sometimes, it's hard to get in touch with them. It takes too long to try to get hold of somebody. It's just always an answering machine. I'm disappointed with that.

When I moved 19 years ago, I already knew about ADT. So I went with them. The quality and the features are good and I haven’t had any issues.
Recently, I called because we replaced the windows, and they had disconnected the alarm system. So I ended up switching to a new system. Everything is completed and working now. It’s excellent service, and reliable.

ADT is the best security system out there. Other companies have security systems, but they can’t compete with you. I have no problem with that. It was a wonderful experience. All the equipment they installed was amazing, truly mind-blowing.
I’m good with it and very pleased. I know the cost reflects the quality, when you’re working with the best, you sometimes have to pay for it. I have one camera that I may need to upgrade. I know they have a better one, the doorbell version that you have to keep charging. That’s the only one I needed, and I need to talk with them about it. I wouldn’t hold that against them or anything.
Customer service sometimes was hard to get on the phone, but when I do, they handle their business.

I enjoyed ADT at first but when I had to move and transfer service about a month ago I have called customer service upwards of 10+ times because I was charged for canceling service despite me bringing equipment with me and setting up at my new address and calling to make sure I was doing everything right. I have still yet to be refunded the $1200. It’s been the most difficult and frustrating process. Extremely displeased with ADT customer service. I do not recommend this company.

When we first got a home security system, Protection One put it in, and then ADT bought them out. So, I’ve had them for so long. Their products are okay. It has held up well. And I’ve kept them because I like what they do. Whenever something goes wrong, they contact us. I just like how they handle their business.

We turn the system on when we leave and disconnect it when we come back. There's not been any issue with it except once. That's when the fire alarm went off through no fault of theirs. We did not know that ADT had called the police department because they couldn't get in touch with me because we turn our phones off at night. I was standing on the ladder in my underwear trying to turn off the alarm and the fire department came up. I'm giving them a plus on that. It was great that they did that. A couple of other times, the fire alarm went off with no reason whatsoever, but that's not ADT's fault. We’ve had ADT for seven years and most of our customer service experience has been very good.

I've had ADT for over 30 years. When I first had ADT, I was living in Washington DC. Then I moved here to Maryland. It's been seven years, and I just brought the service over. If I have a problem, I need the technician to come out to my house. And that's how it used to be, and it's not like that now. They encourage you to look at a video, or you can get the answer on the Internet through their website. And sometimes, that gets a little difficult. I don't like that. But that's the con side, not the pro. So I like ADT. I've never really had a big problem with them. I think they're easily accessible on the phone or their website, but not coming to your house.

I’ve had ADT for over 25 years, and I like them because I’ve always received good service. However, I recently received an email saying my card had been declined for my monthly payment. I looked it up, and I had changed my payment method because I got a new card, but the email showed my old card. When I logged into my account, it showed my new card correctly.
I called ADT, and the representative was very nice, and he confirmed that it had been changed. I asked, “If I changed it three weeks ago and you have the right card on file, why was the payment declined?" He said I could make a payment right then and even pay for two months. I said, “Are you telling me that it's going to take two months to get this in the system when mine shows it's already in the system?" and he replied that it may even take until June.
Then, I told him that I wanted to make one payment, and he was able to make it without reading the card back, so I don’t understand why I was notified that the payment couldn’t be made. I also asked him to send me an email confirming the payment, but he said he could not. He did give me a confirmation number.
Recently, I got hacked, and so I'm very leery about anything. That is why I called them instead of putting anything on the internet. I looked it up online and saw they had the new card on file, even though the email they sent had the old card number. So, that wasn't good customer service.
I was a little frustrated with the situation, but other than that incident, I don’t have any complaints.

I’ve had ADT for over 10 years now, and they’ve been good. I’ve never had any real problems with it. It always works.
There was one time they came out and upgraded the main keypad. Another time, one of the sensors came loose from the ceiling and it was setting off the alarm. The techs were really good.

I have ADT for more than 30 years but I dropped it. It has become too expensive for me. They tried to convince me to stay with them by dropping the rate. It’s not too high for what the other competition is offering. But compared to what it was when I started and my income level then and my income level now, it is. I'm a widower and retired and no increase in income. With everything else is going up, something has to get cut. And that's one of the least painful.

I’ve had it before it was ADT. I originally installed the security system, did some updating, and had it monitored. Since ADT changed over, I’ve noticed no difference. I’m not concerned if everything stays like it should be, but if there’s a problem, then I’m concerned.

It would probably be better if the system were more user-friendly, because there are features I haven’t used or taken advantage of. When the system was installed, the installers didn’t come back since I was on vacation. I introduced them to the house. I have a garage door opener that I technically can use, but I’m stuck using the old-fashioned clicker instead of my phone. I’m paying for the service, but I can’t fully take advantage of it.
The system itself works well, but it can be annoying. I can’t leave a window open, I have to go back to the panel and enter my code to disarm the alarm, because it thinks someone is breaking in. It should be able to tell the difference if it’s a window being opened. You can make custom settings, but it’s so cumbersome that I leave it as is and live with it.
The installer should have realized that and said, “I’ll come back at no cost and walk you through the system properly.” That’s what I would have loved. I wasn’t able to sit there and focus because I was trying to get to a show, and he and his associate were still installing in the house. I realized they were there until 2 a.m, because that’s when my phone showed the alarm was set. It caused a lot of problems.
I paid a lot to have the system installed, and I’m paying $65 a month for the service but I’m not really seeing it. I feel like I’m paying for a Cadillac, but it keeps breaking down.
That’s what drives me up the wall. I don’t mind the fee because I understand the 24/7 monitoring. I’ve had peace of mind traveling between New Jersey and South Carolina, knowing my phone would alert me if someone broke in and the cops would respond. But I’m only getting about 65% of the system’s value. I want the other 35%.
The problem is, if I have someone come over to check or walk me through it, it’s $150 just for them to show up, plus $110 or $120 per hour with a one-hour minimum. I’m sitting there thinking, $300 for this? So I decided to live with the 65%.
They probably run into the same problem, or maybe people have time to really go through the system when the technicians install it. I told the installer I was on vacation, so my mind was elsewhere while he was showing me everything. If he came today, it would be different. I’d be more focused, even though I have something at six o’clock.
The manuals drive me up the wall. I want English. I don’t want Spanish, Portuguese, or multiple languages mixed in. I get that companies do it for simplicity, but I open a book and I’m on a Spanish page I don’t understand. Just default to English. If someone wants Spanish or Portuguese, they can get that separately.
It’s not just ADT. Panasonic, Sony, everyone does it. I’m old school, born and raised in the U.S., 67 years young, I’ll ask for it. That’s all I care about.

On March 4th we agreed to meet an installation person to install outdoor cameras on our building. The technician brought the wrong equipment and only window monitors which we hadn't even requested. They installed something on our wall but we were not being monitored, nor had we surveillance which was our reason for calling this company. The following week we opened on a Saturday for an installation but the tech did not have all the proper equipment. They said they'd come two weeks from that date. On that Saturday, a technician came to make a service call for maintenance. They said, oops. Someone would call us.
Finally, we decided not to go with this company and asked for them to pick up equipment and refund our money. They said it was outside of the 3 day rescission period. We told them that we never had anything working except for a window monitor but we weren't online or getting monitoring from ADT even for that. They also said we signed a contract which we refused to do until the installation was finished. Now we are out the $495.00 for "equipment" and they are billing us monthly for "monitoring". Remember, there are no cameras installed.
When I called again today (this would be my 15, or 16th call), I was told that the only way to cancel now was to pay a $600 cancellation fee. So they intend to keep billing us monthly for a product that isn't working. Additionally, every time I called in the month of March and April, I'd be transferred from one person to the other. Each time I'd have to explain the problem. Every time they said I'd have to have a branch manager call us back and that could take anywhere from 3-7 days. This happened 5 times. Every time the branch didn't help or offer any resolution. I submitted a dispute with credit card company for the $495.00 worth of non-working equipment that I would happily have them pick up, and they sent my credit card company a contract with a signature that isn't ours. We DID NOT SIGN THAT.

ADT took over the company that I had, but my system is not working and they won't repair what I've got. Their customer service reps try to be polite whenever I talk to them, but I'm about ready to cancel the service. One time, I had an alarm go off and when I cancelled it, the fire department still showed up. Also, I had other smoke detectors going off and when I finally got to the phone, ADT's reps had hung up. I called back and cancelled, but it didn't do any good. It was just something I was cooking.

Bad or complete lack of customer service. They make you waste tons of time over the phone, make you do all the work, instead of sending someone the fix the problem. Spend two afternoons on the phone, installing, mounting a camera and they were not able to add it to the system. At the of the day, had to send a technician after wasting my time.

I had ADT for 5 years and paid every month faithfully. One day my system stopped working. I decided to not use ADT after this. I called and canceled service. ADT assured me that the service was canceled. About a year later I start getting bills in the mail saying I owed for services and was being sent to collections. They never canceled my account as they said they did.
Now, every time I call ADT to talk to someone about resolving the issue I am immediately transferred to a collection agency. To make matters worse. The first time I was transferred to this collection agency, the agent told me he was, in fact, a direct ADT representative. He said that I could settle my account completely with ADT if I paid $75. I agreed and paid, the following day this collector called and said that I still had an outstanding balance and that they never said they would close the account if I paid the $75. At this point it's not about paying what they think I owe, it's about a mega company trying to whoop the little guy in every way they can. I refuse to pay for a service they did not provide!

I had ADT for 3 years. I have 2 cameras and one doorbell camera and 9 window sensors. I kept auto pay so it was never late. I fell on hard times. Still not great but I had to let the monitoring go for a moment. After an update you can not use your app for cameras or panel. You can't self monitor. I paid over fifteen hundred for equipment. Paid it in a couple weeks. It is all now junk. Can't be used without monitoring. So time's a little better I decided I would get the monitoring service back. But the quote was 59.00 a month to start the service back up. First they wanted to sell me all new equipment. Mine's perfectly good. So I may go with simplisafe 600 dollars for key pad, 2 cameras, one door bell camera and 9 sensors, self monitoring, no contract. Or you can purchase monitoring as well if you want or do it your self.
Unless ADT can be as solid as I was with paying my bill and staying in the contract 3 years no late payments. ADT how can you help me? I know I can't use the app or cameras or keypad without monitoring service. Can you do me a solid? And give me a deal reactivation, and monitoring. On a side note I was informed when I purchased the equipment it was mine. I did not have to have monitoring service for everything to work. He was right till ADT done an update and you're no longer allowed on the site. Can't view cameras and they are not cheap. At 59 dollars that's over 700 a year. Times are hard. ADT how can you help out a loyal customer that has hit hard times in life and was forced to stop service?

I picked ADT to protect my home about three years ago. I no longer had a guard dog, and I felt it was essential to ensure my home security. My overall experience with ADT has been stellar, particularly with their customer service. For instance, when our bill unexpectedly increased from $69 to $74, my wife, who's also in her 60s, called ADT. She told them that we're getting older, and we got our bills figured out. They were kind enough to revert the charges to the original price, which was much appreciated.
I've found complete satisfaction in the functionality of ADT's system. Living in Colorado, I was initially unaware that I needed to charge the doorbell's battery, even though it was hardwired. It requires charging about twice a year, which isn't really a hassle, just something I wasn't informed about beforehand.
One feature of ADT that stands out is the ability to check on my house from anywhere at any time, providing a reassuring sense of security. This is my first security system, and it offers peace of mind knowing my home is safe from break-ins, especially with how I can effortlessly check my front door to ensure everything's okay.
I feel at ease knowing I'm protected each night when setting the alarm before bed, especially given today's troubling times. The quality of security ADT provides truly surpasses expectations. I emphatically recommend it to friends and family—it’s mind-blowing. Although I've always had dogs for security, transitioning to ADT has let me feel secure without worrying about caring for a pet into our later years. Their service could not have been a more convenient and impactful decision.

ADT really makes me feel very secure, so that's the important thing. Overall, the quality is very good. The app works great. I can clear an area. There's a door going out to the garage, and I can clear that because I'm back and forth, and then I can set it back up again when I'm not going out and if I'm leaving. So, it works out. Also, the pricing is reasonable, so that's good.

My apartment was partially broken into and it was my sister's suggestion to start me with ADT. She set me up for ADT in 2010 and since then, I've changed over for everything to be in my name. It's been working fine for me. One time, I received a balloon and the alarm went off. They called my sister who told me about it and I had to hurry up and leave work. I called one of the ADT people and I learned about the balloon. Now I tell people, please don't give me a balloon. Also, I've had excellent experience when I have to call. When Comcast had to come out, in some kind of way, it triggered the information on the ADT alarm. That was one of the reasons why a technician had to come and readjust everything for me. Everything worked out fine. And my fee is the same and I'm so grateful, especially because I'm on a fixed income now. I would recommend ADT. They have been very professional, get everything done, and talk to me in layman terms where I have to follow what they tell me to do. I appreciate that.

The ADT system is pretty good, but I've been having problems with it. Two weeks ago, the clips on my app was stuck in last month's services. Right now, my system is stuck on April 15th. So last month I called a rep in, which she did come, but she had to go through the whole house and plug every camera. Then she sent signals to the cameras and she rebooted the system, and it came back up. But my cameras are working fine. Periodically, they go offline, then they come back on again. I called ADT and asked this morning, “Is there a problem with your system? Because if it is, somebody needs to fix this, and this is an ongoing problem. Or do I need to call AT&T and let them know that I'm having a problem with the gateway.” ADT said the problem was with AT&T. But AT&T said it was ADT. So they’re flipping it back and forth, and I'm the middle guy.
When I call ADT, I usually get a one-minute wait time, and then I speak to a representative. Their attitude is very acceptable because they wanna take care of my concerns. But you need customer care services. Like this morning, the representative's concern was, “Well, how many smartphones do you have? How many smart TVs do you have?” So I told her, “Ma'am, there's nothing wrong with the cameras. It's that in your system, the clips is set up so when I hit the clips, I could see all the activities that's been going on, especially if my phone pops up and says, “Okay, Charles, there's activity."” I hit the clips and it can show who's coming and who's going.
But that system doesn't work. For some reason or other, it's frozen. The rep's attitude was, “Listen. I'll get you a tech and he’ll be calling you between 1:00 and 3:00.” I asked her, “Why? Can't you send me a new signal?” She said, “Okay. I'll send you a new signal.” Then three seconds later, she said, “Okay. I just sent you a new signal.” So I went back into the app and I told her, “But nothing has changed.” She thought I was a one-day dingbat. She said, “Well, I’ll have the tech call you between 1:00 and 1:30.” I said, “Okay. Thank you very much, ma'am. Have a nice day.” So you got those that have a caring attitude, and you got those that have a non-caring attitude. Overall, ADT is a good company. They do their best to satisfy their customers, but it depends on the representative that the person speaks to.
I like the app on the phone. The phone app is fine, and so is the system itself, because I can go to the panel and I can see and read it. I can also understand it. If any activity is going around the house, the app sends me a signal and it pops up, and then I can go directly to my cameras and I can see what's going on. If I see something that's inappropriate, I can contact ADT and let them know or I can call the police. They can immediately come to the house, and at the same time I can notify ADT.

Worth service. I contacted ADT like 7 times because my cameras weren’t working and they told me they were going to send someone to fix it to make it right for me. Same day when the guy came to supposedly fix it. I got charge $206 when I wasn’t aware of that. I called them again because I didn’t agree to that and I specifically told them I didn’t want to be charge if that was the case. I wanted to cancel it but they kept insisting to make it right. When I called again a guy told me in order for me to get those $206 back I need it to sign another contract. That is such a nasty way to try to retain me in there. After three days my cameras stop working again and I end up canceling. They send me a letter telling I need to pay $317 and I called again for the millions time and they told me “well, you are not getting anything back because you cancel your service now you own us $317”.
The guy was so freaking heartless that he said, “you cancel your account don’t pay if you don’t want but your credit score is going to be affected”. ADT is been the worst nightmare for me. I couldn’t afford $75 a month so that’s why I didn’t want another contract and now I end up paying $317. They are such a fraud and out of compliance. They way they were not respecting my decision to cancel and making me pay for doing it. They told me after my contract was done, I didn’t need to pay anything and now they have ruined me. I don’t have enough money and they just took three days out of my paycheck. The guy who supposed fix my cameras took like 5m and they stated it was 2hrs. Such a lie but God knows. The company will not last for taking advantage of people like me.

ADT's sales rep was outstanding, addressing all my inquiries with ease. The installation process was smooth, which was great for me as I don’t have much time for complications. Having been with ADT for over five years since February 2019, I've always experienced exceptional service. It's surprisingly easy to use, which is a blessing for someone like me who initially found the technology intimidating. At one point, my sliding glass door had sensor issues, and ADT’s support was terrific. They guided me through bypassing the sensor problem over the phone, resolving my concern promptly.
I've always found ADT's presence in the market to feel more robust compared to competitors like SimpliSafe. Their security services have given my family peace of mind. For instance, when an alarm was accidentally triggered, the police response was swift, showing that the system truly works. In terms of maintenance, replacing weathered yard signs is hassle-free—they ship new ones immediately upon request.

In 2018, we purchased a home that had an older ADT system. We went with them and since then, we have purchased a new system, which, although quite pricey—over $2000 initially—I found satisfactory. One technician, along with a trainee, managed the installation across our large home with minimal interactive guidance on the system's use. Despite this, the system itself is quite user-friendly. The app allows for easy operation, letting me arm or disarm the system from my phone which is incredibly convenient. The monitored security response time is prompt, which is something I appreciate. While ADT's system itself meets expectations, the customer service via phone sucks. On several occasions, I encountered extremely rude customer support, making the phone service almost unbearable. However, once we managed to connect with a technician, their professionalism and helpfulness were outstanding.

When we moved into our house, they told us about the different alarm system companies. And ADT was the one we chose because I think they gave a military discount. The installation process went smoothly, although I wasn't present — my husband managed it and had no complaints. They set up numerous cameras and sensors, which took a considerable amount of time, but everything was done properly. Our experience with ADT has been positive. Whenever there have been false alarms, they responded promptly. Once, I accidentally triggered the carbon monoxide alarm when moving furniture. ADT immediately dispatched help without reaching anyone by call, leading to the firefighters' arrival. Honestly, this quick response was reassuring, ensuring no compromise on our safety. I've found the ADT mobile app to be intuitive and easy to use, which makes managing our system convenient.

I grandfathered in to ADT because I started with Brinks. My experience with ADT has been largely hands-off, which speaks to the efficiency and reliability of their service. There was just one occasion in two decades of use where I had to contact them: my transformer needed repair. They resolved the issue promptly, reinforcing their dependable service. In general, the system functions well. A feature I appreciate is the door alarm, which provides peace of mind by alerting me whenever someone opens a door. This feature makes me feel secure knowing my home is protected in my absence.
While I have limited direct interaction with ADT representatives, my overall experience has been positive. I consistently receive the service I pay for and am left satisfied without needing frequent assistance from the company. I haven’t received any incentives for sharing this opinion, and if I were to recommend it to a friend, I'd say the assurance of leaving home with security is invaluable.

ADT was recommended by a friend and I've been with them for a long time. The customer service reps were incredibly helpful. I did face an issue with the lighting on my keypad's screen once, but they guided me patiently, helping me fix it by re-inserting a wire. Everything else, from the installation to the ongoing setup of my security system, has been smooth and trouble-free. I've been a consistent ADT customer for 21 years. Over this time, I've found their service to be stable, with no major changes, which has worked for me. We stick with regular maintenance, and any required upgrades are at an additional cost, so we usually remain at our current service level.
In terms of customer service, ADT has adequately met our needs. For instance, during home renovations, we requested ADT to temporarily suspend the service to avoid unnecessary alerts, and they accommodated us. However, one area that could use improvement is the timeliness of their support visits. I had an issue reconnecting my system with the main panel post-renovations, and it took two weeks for a technician to come by and address it, which seemed a bit long.
Overall, my satisfaction with ADT remains high, but I would suggest improving the speed of their in-home service visits.

When I reached out to ADT, they promptly sent someone over to understand my needs and set everything up soon after, which was impressive. Their customer service has been commendable; if any alarms go off by accident, they handle it efficiently and are always ready to help with any inquiries I have.
I had specific installations, but I chose to upgrade my package later on, and the process went smoothly without any issues. Price-wise, I would say it's fair, but like everyone, I wish for more affordability. However, I find the value aligns with the pricing, offering peace of mind through their services.

The ADT system does its job. What stands out to me about ADT is the functionality of the alarm system. I've been using ADT for a long while now, around 8 years in my current house, and before that, I used ADT for about 15 years in another home.
I've always been satisfied with ADT and the overall quality of the system is quite good, although the pricing could be a bit more affordable. I encountered an issue where the security system would go off incessantly due to a battery problem, but they resolved it by replacing the batteries with the correct ones.
Despite the minor hiccup with the batteries, I would recommend them to others.

ADT has been a reliable choice since we first installed the system back in 2001. Recently, I encountered a hiccup with one of the components, which I refer to as the scanner. During some house cleaning, I accidentally dislodged it. Despite this, no alerts have shown up on our control panel, which is usually very responsive in indicating issues with other parts like the doors or windows.
Another point of concern is the glass break indicator in the basement. Its light isn’t on, raising doubts about its functionality. While these concerns are pending, I haven't reached out to ADT yet due to my current time constraints.
Despite these minor issues, I find ADT to be dependable and have recommended it to others on several occasions. Their service offers peace of mind, even with small technical issues cropping up here and there.

I've been with ADT for over 20 years now. I have been quite satisfied with their customer service, which has been very accommodating throughout the years. My home security system's functionality and performance have been consistently reliable.
Recently, I had an upgrade to my system and the technician was very professional. He took the time to explain everything about the new system clearly. I can honestly say that ADT has been the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. From the very beginning, the experience was a complete nightmare—Frustrating, misleading, and filled with empty promises. The trouble started the moment their subcontracted sales rep stepped into my home. Instead of listening to what I actually needed, he immediately laid out piles of equipment—Most of it overpriced and unnecessary—And started pushing upsells like a used car salesman. There was no clear pricing. No transparency. Just pressure to commit to the most expensive items possible. And of course, it all gets bundled into a three-year contract that’s really just a financing plan disguised as security coverage. Once you’re locked in, they make sure you know there’s no easy way out.
The customer service? Abysmal. I lost count of the lies I was told, particularly around integration with Google. I was assured it would work seamlessly—Spoiler alert: It didn’t. I ended up stuck with a Google doorbell that didn’t match the rest of my system, which totally defeated the idea of building a smart home. Instead of one cohesive platform, I had multiple apps, each with limited functionality. ADT’s own app is clunky, outdated, and frustrating to use. If you want a smart home, just go with Google Home or something similar and skip this disaster entirely. Over the three years I had the system, not once did ADT respond to any alerts. Not for a glass break. Not for false alarms. Not even when I accidentally triggered the system myself. They never called. Never followed up. It was like paying for a security system that didn’t exist.
And even ending the contract felt like a scam. After paying thousands of dollars—over $3,500 for the equipment—I had to call at just the right time on just the right day to even get through the cancellation process. And when I finally reached someone, the rep made one last push to sell me another service, even though I made it clear I just wanted it to be over. Then, to top it all off, he informed me that my system might not even work anymore once it was deactivated—Even though I now own the equipment outright. So what did I pay for? I’ve never been more disappointed or frustrated with a company. From deceptive sales tactics to poor system performance, nonexistent customer support, and a shady cancellation process—ADT has earned its place at the very bottom of my list. Do yourself a favor: Don’t sign up. There are far better options out there.

I've had ADT for about 10 years, and the service has been great. The ease of interacting with their representatives has been consistently outstanding as well. Everyone I've spoken with has been friendly.
The last time I reached out to them, I needed assistance working out a better rate due to changes in my financial situation after my husband's passing. ADT was very accommodating—they worked out a good price for me without any hitches, making the whole process a wonderful experience. Their customer support was truly exceptional. They helped me a lot. I also referred my brother right after I went to ADT and he has it too.
Regarding the system itself, I've faced no issues at all. It's reliable, and I appreciate the convenience of the remote control that comes on my keyring; it's incredibly handy not to have to deal with wall-mounted keypads when going out. I can just hit the button on my remote and go on.
Feeling secure is especially crucial to me now, residing alone, and ADT gives me peace of mind. While overall their service and coverage have been superb, I was disappointed to learn they discontinued the ADT app. The app made payments much simpler, and switching over to the website was inconvenient. I would really like to have that app back.
In summary, ADT has provided exceptional service, great coverage for my home, and has been worth recommending, despite the mishap with the app. I frequently get email updates. Overall, the company's performance has been stellar, keeping my home securely monitored. All my windows and doors are covered, and I feel much safer with the system than I would without it.

I like ADT's service, their monitoring system, their cameras, and their people. The price is also good for my budget. I've been with them for 17 years and when I've had to contact their customer service a few times, mainly for maintenance tasks, each interaction was excellent, encouraging me to remain a satisfied customer. We're very happy with them and would not consider going with anybody else as long as they provide outstanding service.
A particularly dramatic situation illustrated my reliance on ADT's capabilities: an electric chair in my house caught fire. The moment the smoke alarm went off, ADT promptly contacted me. I instructed them to call 911, and I evacuated our pets. Their response was timely and effective, which helped save our house from severe damage. I am genuinely thankful for their actions during that emergency. During this ordeal, ADT even provided me with a dedicated representative to handle the required system reinstallation, making the process stress-free. Notably, I received a quote for insurance without complications, streamlining the overall situation.

ADT is fantastic. I decided to go with them based on a recommendation from my neighbor and my interactions with their sales representative were very positive—they were able to answer all my questions clearly. The installation process was smooth, and the team even made sure to clean up afterward, which was appreciated.
