I'm happy with ADT. I haven't had any problems with the services I've been receiving from them. Over the 20 years that I've had them, their services have changed some, but everything else has also changed. Their pricing is fair. I have people who have other service providers, and our rates are about comparable. ADT's customer service has been great as well. Usually, I go through the loyalty department and they always recognize the fact that I've been a long-standing customer with them. They treat me well. They don't always give me the answers I want, but that doesn't mean that they don't give me great service. They send me emails. If I have an alarm issue, they call. You gotta have a password, so the system is pretty solid. They give me various options too. I can use the app, and it works. It's very simplistic. I started wanting to leave, but I haven't because ADT hasn't given me any issues.

I got ADT in 2022, and they installed it well for me. At one point, I had to change a battery. I called for instructions, and they guided me through it. As far as arming and disarming, I use my phone most of the time, and it's quite easy. ADT is a very good company to work with. They are always very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm not advanced with technology, but they are very patient with me. Their pricing seems fair to me as well because I have reassurance that someone is there waiting for me to hopefully never need them.

ADT’s customer service is good though sometimes, it's a little clunky to get to the person you need. You get passed around a little bit to understand what your issue is. But once you reach them, the people have been very nice, helpful, knowledgeable and timely. They try to figure out what’s happening that I need help with. My equipment's old and we have to go through that. We upgraded the system and put some cameras and the Google Nest for the doorbell. It’s workable. I use the app all the time because that's how I sometimes lock or unlock doors. I like it. I've had friends who've gotten Ring or got a couple of the other ones, and either did it themselves and just subscribed to the service, and they are paying $20 for the monitoring service. I’m paying $48 a month so I have reservations between cost and a couple of things. But I’m satisfied and happy with ADT.

We've been with ADT for years, and when we moved, the first thing we did was to contact them because we wanted this house set up with them too. They cover what we need. The system is easy to secure and we get notifications if anything happens. We fortunately haven't had an issue where we've had to use it as far as the home security, but I've had had a couple instances where I had to use my husband's fall alert button.

I like ADT. We've used them for our last two homes. Customer service-wise, they're wonderful. But I just wish there was an easier way to change out a battery in a smoke alarm. We had the firemen here three times. You're reading the book and you're pressing buttons, but nothing makes sense. It would be great if there could be a code that we put in to change a battery in a smoke alarm. The easier ADT keeps things for people in this day and age, the more appealing it is to customers. Other than that, I've been satisfied with ADT over the past years and I feel secure knowing that my alarm is on. Also, the price hasn't gone up considerably like it does with every other company. ADT seems to be very fair in their pricing.

Horrible customer service. Always have to talk to 4-5 people for a simple question. They are very, very focused on retaining clients and make it very difficult to end a contract. Otherwise the actual security service is fine.

As soon as anything goes off, ADT is usually on the phone with me to see if it was a false alarm or was I doing something. They've been very nice and respectable to me. They worked with me if I had questions and I've never had a problem with them. We've been with them since we moved into the house, and we moved in here in 2002. We recently had them add in more systems alerts and they walked us through everything. They talked to us about the upgrades, what would work in our system, what wouldn't, and what we'd need to do. They were very upfront about it all. The app is easy to use, especially when you're panicked because you can't remember something, and we've been very satisfied with the price. I've also recommended them to some of our friends.

I thought I'd try ADT and see. It has been okay. The storms have knocked it out before, and I've had to get ADT to reset it for me. They did it on the phone.

When I first installed the system, ADT's authorized dealers who are no longer with ADT pretended to be ADT and that the equipment was free. However, I ended up paying over $1,000 so it was a bit of a rip-off that I was stuck with for two years. The equipment is not the state of the art because ADT has better systems now, but I'm stuck with this, so I'm not gonna get the Google system now that it’s not gonna work with this, and I would have to change everything and I cannot pay more money. Other than that, the service is good. I look at a couple of cameras remotely. Also, when I need to fix something, ADT can do it over the phone. That's convenient.

ADT is a really good company. I've had them for years and they're very consistent. Even when we set the alarm off by accident, we get a response right away. So, we're impressed about that. The customer service is good. We had a technician come out a couple of months ago, and he walked me through replacing the battery and resetting the system.

I like that I can arm my ADT system from my phone elsewhere. When I had to contact customer service, they took care of the problem I was having quickly. The battery was going out and I also had a problem getting it back online after getting a new router, and they walked me through it.

ADT seems to be doing the job. I have a very open house and sometimes, it's very hard to find out when the batteries are going down. Early on, I had to have a tech come out but since then, I've been able to figure things out. As far as the customer service goes, they seem to be able to help me when I need help.

I feel protected having ADT. I like my panels. However, I'm not satisfied with the last price. I have a two-family flat and my lower flat was supposed to have been a lower amount. But ADT charged me the same amount that I was paying which is almost $9. I called in and the guy told me that the next one would be lower.

My experience with ADT has been fine. We've been with them for a number of years and they do a pretty good job. We have the main system and we've added some embellishments to it. I'm satisfied. You also can't believe how fast they are. We tripped an alarm, and we had police here within 10 minutes. We also have a panic button on one of our remote controls and every once in a while, I will bend over while I've got it in my pocket and my phone rings. It's them asking me if I'm okay. I'm extremely pleased with the response. They've also lowered our monthly rates over the years.

We bought a home that has an ADT system in there, and we continued with what was already in place. It is extremely easy to use. When the guy came to hook it up, I asked him if it needed a new one. He said he didn't have anything newer on the truck so all we had to do was just turn on the monthly monitoring. When we had a battery go bad, we went to the website and figured out how to replace it. The website is good. The only issue was when our contract ran out, we didn't renew. Our price doubled. I called, gently complained, and they brought it back down and put us on another contract. The price may have been a little lower than the previous one, so we were pleased. I was appreciative of him doing that. He took care of us.

I've known ADT for years. I've always wanted to work with them because they're still one of the best. Their rep was good. He knows just what I needed. That was good, although I would have liked a camera, but he couldn't put one in. That was more important to me on the front door than anything else because I don’t have one. Also, the installer did well. He climbed onto my roof and got everything done. He spent enough so I could understand it. That was a pain in the butt. He still helps me. Asked too much questions.
I live in an era where I needed more cameras, but it's too expensive. I needed at least eight cameras instead of four. I didn't know I could have bought a bigger one. That was the only thing ADT didn't explain, and I could have put more cameras on it later. If they have something which will help me replace the one here and don't charge too much, I'll be fine. I would recommend ADT.

ADT came with the house. Other than a couple of upgrades, I have not had much contact with their customer service. With one of my upgrades, I went to a cell phone connection instead of the landline. A team of one came for the installation and that was easy. The system works when I turn it on.

I love ADT and I'm not gonna give them up. They're right on ball. If I need help, they're right there. If the alarm goes off and they can't get ahold of me, they will call my daughter and my daughter will call me. The law will call over here as well.

Everything is good with ADT. I had to get a larger bandwidth for my internet but that was needed more to make sure my camera stayed connected and also that I have enough bandwidth inside the house as well. As far as the cameras, I wanted the floodlights, but they weren't available. They did cost more. There was another dealer that provided ADT service for my neighbors, and they also had another service that they were offering, which was the water filtration. I wish I had gone with that dealer, but I didn't. I wish ADT's pricing could have been a little cheaper considering my spending plan. Other than that, I don't really have any complaints. Since I increased my bandwidth with the internet, I've been fine

The ADT system is very efficient, and the support is very good. Customer service is timely and accurate. When I have to change batteries, they tell me what to do. When I need interpretation on how the console works, they help out as well. I'd recommend ADT.

I've had a very good experience with ADT. The customer service is excellent. I like their response when we had to change our Wi-Fi. I'm disabled. So, they came out and set the cameras. Also, I like the cost.

When I started with ADT about 12 years ago, they were Protection 1 and it was awesome. When ADT took over, it was still really good. It seems that recently, they've outsourced some of their customer service and I don't feel like getting the service I used to get. Other than that, the equipment works good. I would recommend ADT.

Well, after being rescheduled several times, the technician taking all day to add two cameras to an existing system then drilling through my four existing camera wires slicing them together looks kind of like a fire hazard to me and then putting me off several more times to install my other two cameras. I called to cancel my service with my business and home but yet they still charge my account telling me they’re gonna give me 40% off my bill. I have been a customer for several years not under any contract but still can’t seem to get it canceled.

When I started, ADT was the only one that did home security in our area. Our system works fine. The only time I've had it go off is when pets have set it off. Thankfully, we haven't had any other intrusions. I would highly recommend ADT. Stellar service.

When my papa passed away, my grandmother got ADT at her house because she was alone. In 2010, we moved into our house and got ADT too. They have short wait times when calling and the service has always been excellent. When the techs come out, they do their job quickly and cleanly.

I would recommend ADT. You have to understand everything that the sales person is selling, who I thought was very good, because I talked to him a year before we decided to do it. Where I live in Hunterdon County, Western Jersey, the brightest thing on our street at night is the doorbell. We've been in this house since 1983. Not until someone broke into one of our neighbor's house did we think about a security system. But after going over this thing with ADT, and I did talk to Slomin, Slomin's seemed a little shyster to me, ADT sounded more upfront with the sales rep that we worked with. You have to ask the questions upfront about what they're gonna do for you and how they should set up your house.
We wanted a security system, because there were some issues in the township. I've known of ADT. I've known of Slomin's and different ones. I thought I'd go with someone that I recognize the name more so than somebody else I don't. I've seen ADT stickers on houses. So, I went with that. However, we've had a number of issues with ADT from the beginning of installation where the pads would crap out. It would take my wife a service call a couple of times to get the pads reactivated. They had to be reset. ADT turned around and said, "You need an extender put onto them." I don't know why they didn't know that upfront. We're a 3,400 square foot center hall colonial, four bedroom, two and a half bath. It's very nicely decorated and set up. But we have a walkout basement where we wanted a pad. We have a pad at the front door. But they kept on crapping out until they gave us the extender put in.
This pad system happened at least three times and they put the extender in. It was an additional charge for it. Their service manager said, "You got the system. If it isn't working correctly, then you're gonna have to pay for the upgrade to make it the proper way." We had to debate with him and they got the salesman involved. He was supposed to call us back. My wife said that their telephone service people in the last bout that we had an issue with them again with these pads where you gotta punch in your code when you come in or go to bed at night, they were very good but it still took her time to get it serviced. This time, the person was Johnny-on-the-spot. They were very good this time versus previous times, they weren't as cooperative.
We had another issue with the cameras weren't right after they put it in. We called them again. They kept on telling me, “You have to reset the camera.” I kept on saying, “Where is the reset?” They finally came back to me and said, "We're sorry. We didn't know your cameras were hardwired." I told them, “I told you that upfront, our cameras were hardwired, not battery packed." They tried to get me to reset them with the batteries in them and there are no batteries because they're hardwired. The service manager didn't do the right thing by us.

You can get ADT because I've had a good experience with them. We had their system in our Chicago house, and when we came to this house in Louisiana, they had it set up. It went great. We're content with everything we have. We've done the 1-800 number, and we've always had a good experience.

When I was looking for a provider, ADT was the only one who called me back. I pursued them myself and it just happened to be a perk that my insurance gave me a deal. The installers were excellent. They had to come back at a different time because of where I live and the internet I have. But any time I've ever had anybody, they showed up on time. The sales representatives are always easy to get in touch with. My credit card got renewed because it was a different date and the sales representatives were very helpful.
I have motion detectors and that works well. I live in a peninsula and there are times when my app says I’m disarmed even though when I walk in the house, it’s not disarmed. ADT thinks it’s just my internet. I had a problem with my Nest and the techs came out and redid it. And when they gave me a new Nest, it was an upgrade because the problem was something technical. When I was traveling last winter, my alarm went off. ADT called me immediately and we called the police. It turned out it was ice falling off my roof and hitting my windows and setting off the alarm. The other day, we had hurricane-force winds for no apparent reason and the alarm went off twice. It was a motion detector going off.
I had someone dropping something off while I was in another country, and I was able to use the app so they could get into my house. It made things so much easier because I didn’t want them leaving it outside. There was a big time difference too, so I was shocked that it worked. My neighbor was using Blink and asking me about my Ring camera, and I told him it’s just easier with ADT. Also, my electricians are fond of ADT. I recommend ADT all the time and people tell me they’re more expensive. I tell them that when you add everything up à la carte with other systems, it comes out about the same. Also, I'm paying more for what I want. ADT gives me a discount as well as my insurance so it's fine.

I've been satisfied with ADT. After my husband passed, my son wanted me to have an ADT system put in. ADT is very easy to get in touch with. They did what they're supposed to and explained things. I have what I was looking for. I was satisfied. The only thing I've added is a keypad that sits in my bedroom. I've got one in the kitchen and one in my bedroom, but it sits on the chest of drawers. I don't have to get up if the alarm goes off and come all the way through the house to the kitchen. I talked to ADT's rep the other day. The in-house siren would not go off. ADT told me we have to put four AA Energizer batteries.

I definitely feel safe with the ADT system. The only challenge was when the guy installed it in a poor area. I don't know what he was thinking. There were some boxes over by the door and he put it right in the middle where my television goes.
ADT also failed to tell me that the unit has to be registered with the county and it cost me $150. Because they came out, but it's not registered and you get billed for that visit. And that was a big deal.
It's also very expensive even though they're telling you that they're giving you free stuff. By the time you pay the monthly bill, the bill is over $3,000 for the unit that I have and none of it is really free.
Also, one time we had a blackout. The service rep came here. I couldn't get the machine to start back up. I couldn't even when the power came back on. The tech was bad. He cut some wires on it and he didn't think I noticed. They had to replace the unit, but he was telling me I would have to get an electrician out and have it rewired. It was a horrific experience. They corrected it, but I had to fight.

This has been one of the worst companies I've dealt with in a very long time. I've had my $3,000.00 security system for about 8 months, and already have water sensors malfunctioning, and just had to finally remove them because they go off all hours of night and day with nothing wrong. Their "team" claim their technical people would call me back, and that took 2 full days for that to happen, just to be told they would remove the sensors and it wouldn't be a problem anymore.
A day later all the issues were back. I had a service appointment for them to come out, they charge a $60 trip fee, $150 the first hour, and 60 each 15 minutes there after. It's INCREDIBLE the amount they charge and nickel and dime over their really bad equipment. You can't control or do anything yourself 'cause their app and control panel are just awful, and they charge out the butt to have them help. Do yourself a favor, go with a different company. ADT is not what it used to be, and you will regret having their junk in your house.

ADT is the WORST WORST WORST company I have ever dealt with!!! I was with the company over 3 years with no issues. That was the problem, I had no issues. As soon as I started having issues everything went wrong. Service calls were incorrect, many many phone calls to the company, charging amounts that are incorrect, one person did not know what the other person was doing. I missed a lot of work to be home for these service calls, because my equipment did not work. Every time they came out it was incorrect! Could not do the job!! I decided to cancel my service due to incompetence of your company. I was told there was no cancelation fee by multiple employees of which I confimed. Then I get a bill for that. Had to call again to fix this issue. Not sure this is resolved yet. They took money out of my account for the equipment fees (of which the equipment does not work).
Overall this have been a disaster from the get go, when I started needing help with my equipment!!!! I will never recommend this company to anyone! I could go on and on with so many more issues, but I do not have the time. It will not make a difference anyway. I realize the company will do nothing, just putting my voice out there!!!

ADT is a scam. I cannot even hear my doorbell. Below 1 star. Paid 120.00 for a camera, a base, and a doorbell and cannot hear my doorbell. Called and got transferred to 4 different people just to be told I need to buy more stuff to hear my doorbell ring. After paying 32 a month for 3 months. A total and complete scam. Why would you sell someone a doorbell not to hear your doorbell inside of your home??? Took my money but never told me I will not hear my doorbell. Save your money and just get ring.

My system wasn't communicate with ADT software for 9 months, the only reason that I found out is because something happened that I've to contact them. But for those months I was under the impression that I was secured every time I set up the alarm on. The lack of commitment to their customers is unacceptable.

I had ADT for over 2 years on my home, but had to move to an apartment due to the economy. I transferred my services to my apartment in August and the gentleman told me to cancel the old service after a few days and we paid for installation, which I did. Monday of this week, I received an email from my bank stating my account was in overdraft, I checked and it was from ADT. I called them and customer service said it was their error and the fund would be refunded. Tuesday customer service reached out and said our refund was approved and should be refunded by Thursday, but when Thursday came, the refund didn't.
Friday (today), I contacted customer service and now they told me my refund won't be deposited till Monday, but not for full amount. They charged me for a cancelation fee(which I didn't do $1423), the service fee($112), and installation fee (which was already paid for $25)... and they're only refunding the $1423? My account has been in overdraft for a week, and not only are they not refunding me all that they took from me, but nothing for the inconvenience they put on me and my family... I should've went with VIVINT security like I was thinking of doing!

I have been a customer, via several properties, since 1998. Since we put in cameras in 2020, we have had constant issues. Last year they replace the doorbell camera, it still didn't work, they came out. Said my equipment was outdated and I had to upgrade. Another $1000+ to upgrade. The doorbell hasn't worked properly since. They came out, replaced it and charge me for a 3 hour visit. Tech was here 40 minutes. A week later I asked for more help because new camera was still not working. I was told my local office will contact me in 3 to 5 days. 7 days later, I contacted ADT. I was informed that they canceled my request for help and will not come out unless i pay 3 hours travel fee. They will not release my contract without paying $1000+ in early cancelation fee. This is illegal. I plan to escalate this all they way. They treat long term customers like garbage.

ADT is just an “ok” alarm company. Sells rep was really helpful and nice but of course he’s going to be. Beyond that the customer service is garbage. My kitchen panel stopped working about 2 months ago. I haven’t had anyone come look at it because in the past, they’ve charged me a fee for someone coming out to fix my system. The cameras are complete trash. The alarm does work and they usually call me when it goes off, but not every time. I’ve had Vivint and a company called Peak alarm in the west they were much better companies. I would definitely look around before going with ADT. We are moving in a few months. It’s VERY important to know that they will NOT allow you to take the equipment you’ve paid for to move with you. You have pay for all new equipment if you move. When we move I’ll probably go back to Vivint.

I wish I could give a big fat ZERO! I wasn't even upset when I called. I just called to cancel my service because I switched to another carrier. I feel my account was mishandled in the very beginning and never rectified. I had to fulfill the contract before I could leave. When I called to cancel, the person wouldn't cancel my account. She continued to try and "save" me. I told her I'm not savable, I switched! She continued to repeat herself and try to finish her script!!! WHAT!!! CANCEL ME! Then refused to transfer me to a supervisor when I asked. Now I've wasted almost of hour of my WORKDAY on something that should have taken 10 mins MAX. Too many reasons NOT to choose this company.

- first and third were “cellular communication issues” on ADT’s end
- second was caused by a bogus window sensor “tampering” error
If these issues were not enough, reaching ADT is a nightmare. When you call, you must first listen to a “privacy message” that lasts around 20 seconds. Then you’re given a call menu to select reason for calling; I selected alarm going off. THEN an AI attendant comes on to ask why are you calling! I said “agent”, and AI asks for clarification! Imagine going through all this when you’re already frantic because your alarm is making noise AND you’ve been woken up. I never had issues reaching a Protection One; always was able to reach representative immediately.
Oh, and hold times for reaching a representative for the cellular communication issue occurrences were 57m and 39m…. I’ve complained to the agents about the duplication of call reason options and also to the ADT email customer service, and both just apologized. So either no one is passing on the feedback or ADT doesn’t care.
I have no issues with communicating with a virtual agent for issues like tech support or billing, however, I do not want to when I’m frantic because my alarm is going off. And I definitely don’t want to “repeat” my reason for calling with a virtual agent if I’ve already selected a reason for calling with the router. I no longer feel protected with ADT and I need a company I can trust - and reach quickly and without delay. This pattern of being woken up is unnerving. After this 3rd strike tonight, ADT will be losing me as a customer. I will be researching security companies tomorrow and hope I will be able to get back to sleep tonight.

Worst company in the world. The sales representative missed up mixing the services in the contract. I had an issue with my cameras and the representative said that they can check them out with no extra cost only charged for the trip and and the end they charged me for everything and they didn't fix them anyway. The customer service is terrible. I've to talk with more than 3 representatives to try to solve an issue and tell the same story multiple time and they don't solve your problem at the end and you need to stay on the phone for almost 1 hour.

I tried to cancel my ADT system just a few days after installation, but was told I was “outside the 3-day cancellation window.” That so-called window included a weekend when their offices weren’t even open yet they still refused to honor it. It’s ridiculous that a major company hides behind technicalities instead of treating customers fairly. I barely had the system long enough to test it, and they wouldn’t budge or offer any real help. If you’re considering ADT, make sure you read the fine print and understand that their “money-back guarantee” doesn’t mean much once they’ve got your signature.

This company is very hard to deal with on every level. I am trying to return the equipment, that box was never opened, and I am sending it back. Well, they don’t even want to talk to me. I am moving out of state, and I need to return the equipment that was never installed, No one wants to talk to me.

Terrible company with terrible customer service. We paid for years and just dealt with their nonsense. Wish we would have looked into alternatives sooner, much sooner! There are a plethora of other options out there and when it comes to reliability, ADT is terrible. Anytime there was an issue with security at our work office, we would go to review the cameras and none of them would have video recordings from anything more recently than weeks prior (which were useless to us). We received many monthly credits but we didn't care about the money back, we NEEDED video recordings of security concern events that took place around the office and ADT could never provide that. Anytime we went to check, they were not there.
ADT customer service would correct it and it'd last for a week or so and their suggestion was we just keep logging in weekly to check if the cameras are recording... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Then, they still wanted to hold us to 30 days even though there isn't a single recording available on any of our 4 cameras. We're going to pay for one more month just to be done with this organization... a company who is supposed to prioritize security and safety but really they just want your continued subscription. Don't waste your time with these guys.

My ADT system works and I'd recommend it. I haven't had any issues in the 25 years that I've had them. I have an older system but that meets my requirements. I'm happy with simplicity. It's also been positive every time I've spoken to a person. Their call center is in the States or at least the people that answer the phones are extremely proficient in English. There are no language barriers, which, unfortunately, in some contact centers, is an issue.
I had an incredibly good experience not too long ago. I actually sent one of the execs a letter telling them that. I needed to find out what zone number my glass break detector is. Within about two seconds, their chatbot came back and asked if I wanted that information sent to my email. Then bing! I had a full list of all my zones. I'm an IT security guy and it blew me away how efficient their automation was. Their online tools are clear and well thought out.

ADT is always there whenever I need them and if I ask them a question, they answer me. If they couldn't, they would find somebody else to answer my question or they would tell me that they would find someone and call me back. And they always do. It's nice that they can go into my phone and look at my hub and solve my problem. I had a lot of animals that I never knew that came through my yard and I go back and look at them since I’ve had ADT. I have them all saved. My security is much better because I can see who comes down the end of the road and who's in my yard. I love those features that ADT has.

Customer service with ADT has been good. I've been with them for at least 5 years and I have peace of mind having them. I have things that tell me when my front door or back door is open. I have a carbon monoxide and a smoke detector as well. I have a garage door camera too and that works very well. It's very efficient. Additionally, it's very easy to get in contact with a representative at ADT. Communication with them has been excellent. When I was working on the backyard camera, my settings were incorrect. It signed into my phone and told me what to select. It took a few calls to get that one done, but it's fine now.

BBB complaint filed, Consumer Complaint filed. The system never worked for me and they sent me to collections. My cameras were always logged, they sent the technicians 2 times and never fixed the issue. The solution was that I had to buy a second internet package. They never warned me about that some types of internet services aren’t compatible with them system and have been trying to make me pay for a service that I wasn’t able to use.

We've had a good experience so far. We've been with ADT for some time, and they have been receptive in a lot of ways. We appreciate all the effort that has been done and seemingly work out for us right now. We have another alarm system, and I struggle with the fact that it needs a landline to be able to function. It's challenging in some ways because it may require some updating. It seems to work perfectly with our Ring system. Because we have a Ring camera at the front door, and we plan to install a couple of other cameras because the ADT camera that we had does not work the way we hoped it would. In the past, they ended up removing them, and there were a lot of adjustments and the back and forth that went on. I was frustrated, but on the other hand, I am grateful that ADT was very understanding and accommodating in a lot of ways in addressing what a customer needs that suits them.
Also, affordability is an issue for us because I'm struggling. It was very helpful that I could combine and work with ADT and Ring to make my home safe or for us to feel safe at home. We could go with just the one system, but I don't mind working with ADT because they've been very helpful and affordable. I pay extra just to have ADT continually running in my home, so I am grateful that they are not taking advantage of customers like me who has been with the system for a long time.

So far, ADT has been great. I had them in New York for many years and when I moved down to North Carolina, I reinstalled the system. I'm getting more here in North Carolina than what I was getting in New York. I added cameras and a few more features. They're also priced more reasonably. My experience with the installation team was fantastic as well. They listened to my concerns and were very professional. I asked a lot of questions and they were very knowledgeable in regards to answering them. I like ADT. They're a reliable company and I would recommend them to anybody. I like that I can go anywhere and monitor my house from wherever I go with the cameras. When I was living in New York, my brother-in-law had ADT for a numbers of years. He was telling me about how good it was and I was able to see it firsthand.

There had been a couple times where there’d be a problem with my ADT system and a technician would come to the house. I really appreciated that because this is not my area of expertise as far as technical stuff. But then they said that they'd have to charge me to send somebody to my house. Or I could do the troubleshooting myself, and somebody could be on the phone with me to walk me through it. I told them that I don't think that will ever work out because I'm going to blow up my house by accident. But every time I've been on the phone with somebody, they have been fantastic about holding my hand and walking me through everything. So that has always worked out.
One time, I had some issues with one of my external cameras and it took a long time to get a lot of back and forth with them suggesting I call an electrician. But I persevered by calling two more times and somehow got a phone technician who knew what they were talking about and went back to the old school ADT. She said they were getting me a new camera and that they were sending somebody out. I've had ADT for at least 15 years and she said I've been a member for so long and I have a status with us. She also more or less told me that from then on, I should keep calling back until I got the answer I want.
So, they sent a technician to my house, which has been my favorite person I've ever met in my entire life. Through the years, there were a couple of questions that I could not get answered through different technicians on the phone, but he was different. He installed the new camera, walked me through it, told me how to do it, and talked to me like a human being. His name was Slava and he was a wonderful person. His level of service was from the ADT that I signed up for. Also, there has been some price increases, and I'm at a place in my life where I can't afford it. But as long as I can find this version of ADT that's not that hard to find, I will stick with it. I've been so happy with the customer service and what I've gotten from the relationship.
At another tome, I had my key fob in my pocket and forgot it. Somehow, it set off a panic attack. I was waiting in the horror and terror of some bill that was going to come. I called ADT right away and told them that I didn't mean to do it. They tried to wave off the fees, but they couldn't do it. And they showed up. It was the most terrifying and embarrassing thing that ever happened. But it's an error in the technology. It was too easy to set off in my pocket but I also now know that and will not put the fob in my pocket in the same way again.

I'm 100% satisfied with my ADT package and I have no problems at all with them. Whenever I have an issue, I call and they get me an appointment right away. Then they call me and I have to be at my house for it, because they have to get into the system. Then they resolve the issue. When the system was installed at my first house, the installer went through everything and showed me what he was going to do. He walked me through the whole process, because it was the first time I had a security system. So, he was very good and very thorough.
Since I was familiar with it, when I got the system on my second house, I didn't need the walk through. I just needed to have the equipment installed. But it was a little bit different this time because of the upgrades with ADT. The features were not what they were when I first went with them and they went through that with me. But as far as the process, it was the same except with the upgrades, and they did a fantastic job. They app is also very easy to use.

I'm 85 years old and I've lived in this house for 50 years. ADT has always been here and they still are. I never really had a problem with them ever. I pay it every month and it's affordable. They've responded to all issues very well. I've got a big glass sunroom, and that brings in the birds. When they fly and hit the glass, they would shake everything up and get us a few trips. But that was never really a problem.
Because of my age, I'm losing most of my hearing. I take out my hearing aids when I go to sleep at night. If the alarm sets off at night, the only one that knows that's something's going on is my wife, not me. I've asked ADT what can be done about it. They said they could put in a larger system for me that I could hear but at a cost. That shut me down completely. I shouldn't have a system like this that I would have to depend upon, but they need to put in a special system at a cost so I can hear what I need to hear.

We’ve been with ADT for 17 years now. We stay with them because the equipment is great. The service seems to be really good. Any time there's any problem when we're away, we've gotten an immediate phone call. All the windows are guarded and all the doors. And the moment something opens it shouldn't, we know about it right away. Their price has also been reasonable.

I like that when I go out of town, I can set the ADT alarm on. However, with ADT, you have to pay for everything including batteries. When the equipment goes out, it takes a while because they have to mail it to you. If the stuff falls down, in order for them to come and put it back up or put a new one, they will charge you. When I'm calling ADT, they help me out. But sometimes, I get some smart ones that don't wanna work. Some don't even know what they're doing. You’d be on the phone for hours trying to set the thing on the wall. But now I've learned how to set it back.

I had Brinks, then ADT acquired them, and then when I moved from Oregon to Arizona, I just transferred on over and have an ADT system here also. The performance of the system has been great. I like being able to set the alarm even though I'm home and bypass specific zones and the motion detectors and the windows if I wanna open a window but still have the alarm set. It’s been a good experience.

I've been with ADT for 9 years. I think I deserve some kind of discount. But I got cameras around my house now. I work in a prison and I've been in my prison for 20 years and I'm very security-oriented. One time, they came and put a battery in the main system and it was awesome. They were very professional.

I've got two cameras and the doorbell camera. I've got sensors on all the doors and glass breakage sensor on the windows. It's been ideal, so I don't have to worry about anything or anybody coming in. ADT is very prompt and helpful. They're courteous too. I had a sensor go bad and they walked me through it. They sent me a replacement. We replaced it and set it back up with the system. It's been a great experience.

We’ve been with ADT for 40 years. We started out with Brinks and then they changed to ADT. They've all been very professional and helpful. The only thing we ever had is when an alarm would go off without reason. We would call in and tell them whatever it was. Then they would say they’d troubleshoot and see what was going on and notify us. They've been very great. I would highly recommend ADT because it's useful no matter what.

I've had ADT for over 20 years. We added cameras when we first moved here. But we had ADT longer than that. I like the product. We have no issues with it. ADT helped me every time I called. I recently had issues with some cameras. A gentleman came in and did what he had to do. Everything works good. So, I'm still happy with it. The young lady went far beyond what I thought. She was able to even get me a better price. I was better than happy with that.

We've been happy with ADT's services. They are very prompt in responding to an alarm and their customer service has been good. We use the online service to control our system, which is easy to do. We started out with one package, then we ended up changing. We bought new sensors and different things, and the process was pretty easy. We didn't have any problems.
We had to contact them last week because one of the smoke detectors kept saying, “Check it.” We changed the batteries and it still just kept doing it. So, I talked to like three different people and they were all very helpful. But we didn't solve the problem until the last one we talked to. She said she was going to set us up with a call for one of the technicians to do a video call so that he could see the actual smoke alarm. So, he ordered us a new one and we're supposed to have a telephone call with him tomorrow to set it up. Other than that, we're unhappy with the price increases, but I would tell my friends that ADT is probably as good as or better than some of the ones that's out there.

I’m fairly safe with the ADT alarm system. In the very beginning, we had a few installation problems. But once those were resolved, we've had no problems at all. It’s been fairly easy to resolve problems with ADT. Just give a phone call or a text and probably an email and they will schedule a tech to come out and problem will be solved.

I started out in 2004 with Protection 1, then a couple of years ago, ADT bought them out. It hasn't been that many years since, but everything's okay. ADT came in and set up my cameras. The couple of times in the last couple of years where our smoke alarm was set off, ADT called us right away and we were able to tell them what was going on. We were cooking and they didn't have to call anybody to come out because we got everything under control before we got very far.

I put ADT in my house after it got broken into. However, the camera system that we have from them is not really that great. They ain't clear and don't work most of the time. It's not difficult to get the reps on the phones, but every time they come out, they wanna charge me $150. I'm not gonna pay any big old money. I figured, as long as I've been with ADT, I would have gotten a good deal with them. But the last time I checked on upgrade, I can't even afford it. I'm thinking about going with a different provider.

I would recommend ADT 100%. I've been a long-time customer with them. They've been outstanding and they provided me with the equipment that I needed to secure my house when I leave. The system has worked perfectly. It does what it's supposed to and I don't have to mess around with it or get technicians in here to try and troubleshoot it.
When I bought my home, I selected ADT to secure my house when I'm not away and when I'm on vacation. It normally has gone well. I call ADT and let them know, "I'm gonna be out of town. I have the alarm set and whatnot. So you know what to do just in case somebody breaks in. The only two persons that come in into my house that are permitted is my son, Junior, and my sister." My son is the first line of defense. My sister is the third line of defense. They are the only ones that are allowed when I'm not at the house.
We've done some minor modifications. But originally, the installation went well. It was done in one day. We were up and running. During the time frames that I've been with ADT, we've modernized my system where now I have a panel and all that good stuff. The monitor is user-friendly. I have it on my laptop. That's what I like about it. As a retired engineer, I'm familiar with computers. I want something simple. Make it work.

I've been with ADT for nine years. Friends of mine have it. When I moved to Jersey City, I decided to get the alarm. In the beginning, I was disappointed with the service. I don't use it as much now because I have my dog with me. But it does its job. It's just a regular alarm.

ADT is a good company and a good system. We needed a new system in our home in Arizona. I just Googled the best companies and ADT was one of the best. I contacted them and we have their service here now in Arizona. Like a lot of places, you gotta go through a switchboard. But it's normal. The technicians are great. They came out within two days and got the system set up. We had a couple of little hiccups. We have some false alarms. When we went back to Minnesota, our housekeeper let them come back in the house and fixed it. It was a matter of the things weren't lined up correctly. We've had no issues since. It works and I have cameras. We see what's going on inside and outside the house. It's as I would have expected.

I looked in Google for a security camera, and ADT is one of those that people like the most. I have a daycare, so I chose the best for me. The first rep I had was when I called for information. The second one was when they came to the house. Both of them were nice people and knew what they were doing. They explained good to us. I love that. We like the system. It's used for everybody in the house. We use the app on the phone. We can watch all the cameras from over there, open the door when we're not home, and arm and disarm the alarm.

ADT helped me out one time when the smoke alarm was too close to the bathroom door, and it kept going off. They walked me through it and that was very helpful. The system is performing very well. I like it because it's efficient and very accurate. It calls the police, and that's a good thing. It's like having a house bodyguard. ADT is accurate and they really care. They do call back for feedback. They call and ask more questions like, "Are you satisfied? Everything is okay?" So, that was a good thing. It's very easy to get in touch with them. I call the number and they pick up immediately.

t's been a couple of years now since we set ADT up. The rep assessed what we needed. He drew up a proposal for us, which we accepted. He was very good in his follow-up through the install, and even had some unsolicited post install follow-up just to verify that we were happy and we didn't have any issues.
The installer was unable to install the driveway camera and installed the Google Nest cam for the doorbell which was physically installed incorrectly. I followed up with the sales guy and he intervened on our behalf and got somebody out. He redid the things that were done wrong and even completed parts of the install that weren't even completed by the initial guy. We were extremely impressed with his knowledge and his patience in explaining the system to us.
We're pleased with the package. The functionality of all the electronics is exactly as it should be. We inadvertently set off an alarm, one time. Got immediate follow-up call from ADT and went through the whole drill of verbal verification.
One time, I burnt something in the stove and set off the fire. Again, had immediate follow-up, which was great. They did beyond what we would have even thought. She verified that we were fine, did a temporary disable so it wouldn't keep triggering it until we cleared the smoke. The follow-up that we've had has been exceptional.
The app is easy to navigate as well. One thing that is lacking on the app, when you go into some of the online tutorials, it appears that there's a panic function in the app, but there is none. And that's something that we'd love to see. But we've been very pleased with our ADT experience overall.

A couple of people had ADT here on our block. We tried them as well and we're very happy with them. If you have a problem, they will come out and fix it. I like the professionalism as well. When we had problems with our Google doorbell, a guy came out and fixed it for me. It stopped charging so he had to take it off. He charged it in the house then put it back on and everything's been working great since then. That was the first time I've ever needed to get in contact with ADT and it was fairly easy.
However, for some reason, sometimes it'll lose WiFi connection. It makes this sound that my dog hates and I can't reset it from the one upstairs. I have to come downstairs and reset it from the main panel. But that's not that hard. Other than that, I haven't had any problems with ADT. The quality is good. I feel secure in knowing that all my windows are alarmed down here and nobody can get in without setting it off. I like that I can see who's at the door. I also like that it's hooked up to my Alexa. At nighttime, all we have to do is say, "Arm ADT," and it arms it. In the morning, we tell Alexa to disarm it. It asks me for my code and it disarms it.

We've had ADT for all the years we've been here and for 25 years prior to that at another address. That other system was upgraded some time or another. We've been in this house for six years. We’ve just had the system. I have one motion detector, one fire detector, and one keypad. It is easy to use. I'm just not computer-smart.

I noticed that a lot of people have ADT. I thought the more is the better, and I jumped on board. Everything got installed well, and I love having the security. Their response time has been great as well. However, I wish that the cameras would record farther so I can go back and look in case something happened. If someone comes in my yard and they are not close enough, it won't record it.

Two aunts of mine and I each had a security system installed around 1996, and at that time, ADT gave us the best offer. I had a false alarm once when I wasn’t home, but they responded right away. The motion sensor was sensitive and when a couple of trucks rolled by, causing vibrations in the house, it went off. The police came right away and checked everything, and everything was good. All the interactions so far have been good.
If you’re looking for a good alarm system, I would recommend them. Every now and then, they'll ask me to test the system, and I could call them and tell them that I’d like to test the system at this particular time. And they'll put the system on standby until I test it without a problem. With ADT’s system, I feel very comfortable and confident. I can put it on away mode without any problem. They always ask first if it’s a false alarm or if you want someone to come out, and because we weren’t home, we had them send someone.

I've had excellent service with ADT in the 4 years that I've had them. It gives me the security I want. My husband just passed away, so I'm here by myself now. ADT helps me to go to sleep at night. They're always there for me if I need them, and they keep abreast of my situation at all times. I had this bad habit of setting my alarm off. One night, I went to sleep, and the door wasn't shut. The wind blew it open, so the alarm went off. ADT tried to call me, but my phone was turned off. So they called my son, and he came over at the same time the police were here. They were very nice about it, and I apologized up and down. I love my ADT system. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

ADT is connected with State Farm. When ADT sent me an email, I decided to check them out. However, there's no touchpad near the door where we can do it when we come in. Our feature set is all the way in the kitchen and it's all part of a thing. Otherwise, we'd have to sit on the floor in the hallway when we come in from the garage. All other systems that we've had, even the system that was here before we bought the place, had a touchpad right there. When you come in from the garage, on the wall, you can touch it and it turns everything off. I miss that.
We had to call somebody out because we changed our internet provider. We tried everything. The first time, we went to Starlink. But that system got hit by an electrical charge. That went and we had to get another service. We decided to go with one that is underground. We couldn't resolve the problem. We had to pay ADT a service fee for that, which isn't right. Other than that, everything's fine.

I'm getting ready to leave the country for several weeks and I want to know how I could add my son to the contact number listed with ADT. I've been with them since October 28th last year. This is a brand-new D.R. Horton neighborhood and they had recommended ADT. ADT cover this area and they did everything. They also did my termite and pest control, and they gave me a bunch of deals. We had to wait about two months before the house was finished to move in. I was using AT&T and ADT had to wait for AT&T to put in the fiber optics and everything they had to do so that I would have internet. So far, everything's going fine and I really enjoy having the outside cameras.
There's been a couple of times when I first got ADT that I tripped the alarm. I cooked steaks on this indoor grill and I didn't know how much smoke comes from that thing. It set off the detector and I got a phone call within 30 seconds wanting to know if I had a fire in the house. That was great and they called in a hurry. I told the guy what happened and he started laughing. At another time, we were going on vacation and I had seen a roach in the house. I set this roach bomb off in the house and I put it underneath the smoke detector. But I didn't know that the smoke from those things would set the smoke detector off. So, I was going out the door to leave and close the door with the smoke detector going off. And about that time, my phone's ringing and it was ADT wanting to know if I had a problem.

Called to inquire about system with ADT. Was told one price on the phone and what system would include, only to be told by the technician that I must have misunderstand. On my initial call they had me sign what I thought was agreeing to have a technician come out and work with me but it was a contract. The three days to cancel were expired even before the equipment was installed. I was told the cost and the monitoring fee and I thought the total amount was monitoring fees and equipment, but $1,600 was charged to install 5 cameras and window sensors, and the total cost was not with monitoring fees.
I paid $400 an hour for installation which is absurd, I was not given the promised equipment, or the promised monthly monitoring fee from the initial phone call. All ADT says is you are the one who signed the contract so you are stuck. I tried to cancel 2 days after installation and was told too late. I thought this was a company you could trust and their word on their recorded line should mean something. They use deceptive business practices and cannot be trusted. Do not ever go with this company.

I have had ADT for more than 3 years. The install was easy and all of the things, but what really matters to me is that the system works. It's easy to get hung up on a contractor making little drywall mess or something taking a few days to figure out the glitches, but 3 years in, I still feel safer having the system. The other day, we were sanding and I forgot to put the filter back into the big vacuum. Massive puff of smoke and soot particles were released for no more than 3 seconds. Less than 10 seconds later, the alarm went off and I received a fire awareness phone call. While this was not an emergency, I know that if my kids or dogs were in the house when something happened, I would trust emergency services to be on the way immediately. Thank you, ADT!

ADT has a good product. The monthly price is good. But I got a little bit misinformed over the equipment installation. The equipment installation was more than I would have bargained for had my understanding of it been different. So now, I really do have a lot more than what I need. I like it, but I also paid a higher price that I would have preferred to not be paying. I'm paying a monthly price for the security and then I'm paying for the equipment itself.

We used to live on Eastern Shore and we had ADT security over there. When we moved here in 2004, we also wanted to get security for the house. We looked up on the Internet who was the best, and I was impressed with ADT. We signed up again and our experience has been very good. They're always right on the spot. My husband accidentally opened up the door at 4 o'clock in the morning. The alarm went off and ADT called me right away. Before I can even get to the phone, it was ringing. However, sometimes when it goes off, it's not working. It's saying that one of the doors is open, but when we go around checking, all the doors are closed. We know it might be the battery so we change the battery then it's okay. It's easy to get the batteries changed as well. We're very pleased with our sense of security and would recommend ADT.

The girl from ADT who helped me did an outstanding job. She was very professional and courteous. She walked me through what I needed to do. I've had ADT ever since I moved in my house because when I moved in my neighborhood, the choice was either ADT or Western House, and I didn't want Western House. ADT is well-known throughout the country, so I've been always had them. I got the camera, the digital pad, and the combination lock. So far, I haven't had any issues with my system. Every now and then, if the wind is blowing hard, it'll push the door and put the alarm off. But other than that, I've never had any problems with ADT. Every time I call about something, they resolve it. I also have no problem contacting them. They verify you, authenticate what your code is, and they go from there.

When ADT did the installation, the tech did a inside camera, which I didn't really need all that much. I just got the outside doorbell and the alarm system. On top of that, I had to pay a $15-fee at the police station just by me having the ADT camera. Other than that, I had a good expereince with the installation. The only problem that I experienced was when they were trying to get the connection going for the internet connection going thing when they were trying to connect it. Overall, I've been getting pretty good customer service.

I had ADT in the state of Tennessee when my brother bought it for me as security, then we transferred homes and picked it back up again in California. I'm not a techie, so when something goes wrong, I call in and the reps tell me exactly what to do over the phone. They've done that several times for me. When my elderly neighbor got confused and set my alarm off, the police were here within minutes. They responded fast, but I didn't have the system for police response ‘cause it was safe where we were at. We were out in the countryside. I had the system more for fire because if we had a fire out in the countryside, nobody would know about it. I've been with ADT since 2009, and another plus about their company is nobody's called to solicit more things. They leave me alone until I need their help.

I'm very satisfied with ADT. I had Protection 1. I've had them for over 20 years, and ADT and Protection 1 merged. The techs fixed everything that I needed fixed when they were here. They find out if I needed any additional assistance, explained to me, and left. They're very courteous. I'm very comfortable with my sense of security because I have all my doors and windows secured. I set it at night and take it off during the day. I travel a lot. I leave it on.

The property I bought had ADT for home security. Compared to the other prices of other services, it made sense for me to continue with them. So far, my experience with ADT has been good for the most part. It was easy for me to learn and get the functions that I need. It's simple and I feel safe with the system. It's also extremely easy to communicate with customer service. When I've had little glitches, I called and got immediate service. I'm really happy with that part. The glitches I've had with it has been more internet issues, not ADT issues. This is my first time having home security so being able to have that quick access makes a difference. I would definitely recommend ADT to family and friends With ADT, you will get everything in one. You get the affordability and security you need. They have great products as well.

Three years ago, the technician came to do the installation. He did the windows, the doors, and the cameras outside. He was very good, and knowledgeable. When my carbon monoxide wasn't working about a month or two ago, a technician came out and changed it to a brand-new one that should be more effective.

The ADT system has been very helpful. The other night, I was having issues with my lock and with the key and I set off the alarm. They called and said, "Well, we got a report." Sometimes there are issues. If you're not so familiar with phone, sometimes it is hard to get a live person. But I’ve called them and sometimes with the troubleshooting, they've helped me. The technicians have been helpful too. It's also easy to arm and disarm. You're in the house and you could put the alarm on while you're inside. I've had the service for five years now. It is a good idea to have that security. 'Cause sometimes you're away, you have the feature that you could put the alarm on mobile through your phone. I'm very satisfied with ADT.

My technician arrived on time, and took care of everything in a timely manner. They did great install. Customer service has been excellent as well. I accidentally triggered the alarm and ADT called within half a second. Everything is great. The monitoring, the app, and seeing in real time the sensors being used and at what time have been really great features.

We're happy with ADT for what we need. We have been with them for so long and we haven't had any negative experience with them. Plus, it's very easy communicate with the company. We do it usually online, or we can call. Any time we've had to do anything, we've been pleased with it. If we asked questions, they answered them. If we need someone to come by, they come. ADT does so much with smoke and fire, as well as with break-ins or security, which we don't think about because we have the system. We also have their sign up in our yard, so most people know that we have it. If someone needed a system, we would recommend ADT.

I'm the biggest ADT fan on this globe. It's my favorite company. They're the largest company in the United States and the most credible one as well. They have the best products and best service. I put that sign up in front of my house, and no one's gonna mess with me. Their guys love their business, and they're so friendly. As soon as I had that thing signed up, they put the sign up. The installation went smoothly as well and they had everything running. I've had the system for a year now, and not one thing has gone wrong. I live in a nice neighborhood, and it's a status symbol too. All the other guys got all these fake brands but I have ADT, and they look at me differently.
ADT has global operations, too. It makes me feel proud when I go to Hong Kong or Australia or India, and I see that ADT octagon. It makes me happy. Everywhere, the employees are trained very well, and they love working there. The Nest cameras here in the States are so accurate. It picks up anything near my house. I get a text as well. ADT is really on the ball.

All my family members in Chicago use ADT. I got ADT as well because we were getting our packages stolen. Their service has been great. The representative is very nice and polite and it doesn't take them long to answer questions or fix problems. I also really like the little box thing where I can say, "Hello, Google. Front door camera." ADT is the best and their security system is awesome. I love it and I will recommend it over any other alarm system. In fact, I am gonna place an order for someone to come out and put the camera Ring doorbell.

Two years ago, right before I started my ADT subscription, a neighbor who lived across from me had cameras and could tell that someone was up at the front of my property not far from the street. He was leaning up against a tree for a prolonged period of time. I have a fairly large yard, but it was sort of an odd place to be in the dark. So, we called law enforcement and I'm far enough out that apparently, it was the sheriff that serviced us, not the regular police. So they came, but about the time they were ready to pull up, this guy hopped into a car that was coming up my street and they took off. But it left me feeling like I needed a security system. So, I went ahead and got ADT. So far, I don't have the system on very often because I have two different dogs now, one of whom is a fox terrier, and she could smell someone from 20 ft.. And her hearing is extremely acute. So, even though I have the ADT system and it's ready to arm, I rarely arm it.
The other thing that comes in handy is the driveway camera. I had some dog sitters a year or so ago and they weren't staying long enough. I could tell when they came and left by the camera. So, I check that a couple of times a week on my phone. Also, a couple of weeks ago at midnight, the alarm was pinging that the thing had been interrupted. But nothing had happened, because I keep some low lighting on. When it would continue to beep even though it was just beeping that the connection had been disrupted somehow, I had to unplug it and plug it in in the garage. Otherwise, I was going to hear the beeping all night long.
After the second time, I called and got the most fabulous service technician. She troubleshot it with me and I took it back out to the garage where I had more space to work with it. I got such helpful service and she was very patient. I held my phone up so she could see what was going on, and she had a good feel for what might have been causing the issue. We did some good troubleshooting with it and it hasn't malfunctioned since then. Other than that, ADT's price is reasonable. It's about $50 a month and that's less than $2 a day.

I'm new to the neighborhood, and when I was taking a walk through my neighborhood, I noticed that there were several signs of ADT in the yards. I talked to a couple of the neighbors, and they said they've been very pleased with ADT. I went by that and got ADT as well. It seemed like the rep who came was a little rushed and didn't go down everything with me, but I'm pleased with what I have. The installers were friendly and respectful as well. They explained what they were doing for the most part.
We had an outage one night that I didn't know of. The next day, the beeper kept coming on. Somehow the outage affected the charge of the battery, so it came up that it said “Low Battery.” I called customer support and they told me how to turn the beep off, which I did because it was driving me crazy. Whoever handled my support call did a good job, because they led me through what I need to do. I didn't really realize where the battery was until that day so I now know where it is and that it needs to be charged. Then I got a note the next morning, and it didn't show low battery anymore. The next day, I got up and it said, “It appears you lost service for a period of time.” I checked and they said to go back on and set it. I did, and it's worked perfectly.
When I first talked with customer service, they sent me a new battery, which cost me $42 and something. I wrote a really quick note asking them to please cancel that order for the battery. But I still I received the battery in the mail. Other than those, I've been very pleased with ADT.

My experience with ADT has been nothing but a headache. Every single time there’s an issue, they demand I reset my password — over and over — as if that magically fixes anything. I’ve had to create so many passwords I’ve lost count, and nothing ever actually gets resolved. Their contracts are ridiculous. You get locked into a long-term agreement with essentially no way out, even when the service clearly isn’t working. They’re more interested in trapping customers than keeping them happy. The app is unreliable, too. Tech issues, delayed notifications, features that don’t work as advertised… pretty ironic for a “security” system that can’t even reliably notify you of anything.
Customer service was the final straw. Every call felt like talking to a brick wall. The reps were rude, constantly talking over me and repeating scripted lines that never addressed the actual problem. It was obvious they were trained to deflect, not help. Bottom line: ADT is overpriced, unhelpful, and nowhere near worth the frustration. Avoid them and find literally any other security service.

I've had ADT in my home since October of 1987. I remember it well because 30 days later, somebody broke in my house. However, we didn't have any contacts on the outer back door. The installers only put them in the upper entry door into the house, so the intruders were able to knock my door off the hinges. We didn't think we needed it because we had two 2x4s going across the back door, but they got in there. Needless to say, we had to add on stuff. I have wireless sensors on the doors, but I still, in a couple of years, am gonna upgrade the whole house to wireless. I wanna be able to have the remote in my hand so I can just turn the system off in my hand.
When I called ADT once, a customer support rep from the Philippines kept saying I needed to go in the basement and look for where my system is plugged in. I told her there isn't anything plugged into any sockets on my system. I kept trying to tell her it's hardwired in the attic. But she didn't understand what I was saying. She's more modernistic because she doesn't think about hard wires. Otherwise, I have had no problems with anyone at ADT. ADT works perfectly. When I call, they answer. When the alarm goes off for more than a megasecond, they call. I just wish the service was cheaper. I'm paying $31.99 a month but I know quite a bit of people that came long after me and some even more recently, and they pay $25 a month.

I had ADT in Nevada, in Michigan, and I have them now here in Virginia. To date, I'm very satisfied. I've had lots of people come to my door, looking to give me a security service, but I turned them down. I pay ADT a service fee every year, but I don't mind. It keeps my alarm systems sharp. ADT operates through a telephone line, and once I disconnected myself from their services. I called them and they sent someone out within a couple of days. I also had another issue, and they fixed it to my satisfaction. In fact, they just came out and updated their service a couple of days ago with the phone line. One time, my motion stopped working for some odd reason. ADT sent a guy out here almost immediately after I called them. He replaced the motion detectors because there was something wrong with them.
I'm happy with ADT. They give me one thing that I'm looking for which is peace of mind. I go to sleep at night knowing that they're there watching, monitoring me. Customers would want that same feeling, knowing full well that they could walk out their door, set the alarm, and their houses would still be there when they get back.

I have the protection plan with ADT and I had an issue with a false alarm. It was a window sensor that was the problem. The tech came out, diagnosed the problem and found it. Took him a few minutes, and there was a wire that was loose or frayed, and he taped that back up and that solved the problem. The complaint that I have, though, is not with the tech, but prior to him coming out, I called and they assured me twice that there was gonna be a 59.99 service fee and they’d put that on my next bill.
But when the tech came out, and I explained that to him, he said, “No. The $59.99, you have to pay now, and as well as what I'm charging you for the work I've done which is another $25.” I had to pay $84, which is completely different from what they promised me. That does not give me great confidence.
Sometimes it's also difficult reaching someone in ADT. You get the automated service, and then it's hard to get a person on the line. The system works generally well, other than this last issue that we have with the faulty sensor. I had to get a rep out here. Ironically, at that time, when he came, he did not charge me. And that's why I was perplexed when they said I had to pay 59.99.
Another time, a representative was here and I asked him about installing an outside camera at the back of the house. I asked him if he could give me a quote. He said, “Let me look at what you want and I'll give you a call back and give you a quote.” But he never called back and that's been a little over a year ago.

I paid ADT over $5,700 for a commercial security system — including $3,075 upfront and almost two years of monthly payments even after my business closed and I wasn’t using the service. When I could no longer afford it, ADT demanded 90% of the remaining contract (about $1,600) as an early-termination fee and refused to fully waive it despite my financial hardship and spotless payment history.
I contacted ADT numerous times by phone, email, and chat, offered to return all the equipment, and even filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau, but the company still refused to help. Their agents kept calling, offering verbal “discounts” that they wouldn’t confirm in writing — a frustrating and misleading experience.
I’m sharing this to warn other small-business owners: read every clause carefully before signing with ADT. The contract locks you in and makes it extremely hard to cancel, even if your business closes. ADT’s policies may be legal, but they are not fair or compassionate. I hope this helps someone avoid the same trap I fell into.

Can you call on the phone, they don’t tell you anything about how much it’s going to cost. They did tell me that I was eligible for “free installation.” Technician came to the house, quoted me a price was way too high for me so I told him, “I didn’t want to do it.” He finagled the price and got it down to $51 a month plus the cost of the equipment. The contract looks like it’s zero for installation. So I signed it. I called customer service after they charged my first bill for over $100. I called customer service, she told me that “You signed it, nothing I can do about it.” I sent them the agreement, they’re supposed to get back to me, and never did. The salesman that you deal with when you call, I’ll tell you anything to get the salesman in your house.
I also gave the guy a $40 tip who installed my system… Thinking that I wasn’t paying for installation. He shouldn’t have taken the tip. Now I’m stuck in a two-year contract paying over $100 a month. BEWARE, once they have your credit card number, it’s all over. BY THE WAY, I paid my deposit with one card and used another card for monthly payments. Now they have two credit card accounts, and I can’t delete either one of them. They were also supposed to give my friend $200 for referring me, you guessed it… That never happened.

While my experience with ADT's services since 1996 has been satisfactory, their business practices are questionable. Despite guaranteed contract pricing, the monthly bill was consistently increased. This required repeated calls to their customer service for correction, a process that became cyclical. By the time I terminated my service, I was paying double the rate of their competitors. The exit process also involved an unexplained $53.00 charge, which I paid just to finalize the separation.

Dealing with this company has been less than pleasant. My wife purchased the account, and of course what was mentioned over the phone was all the "bells and whistles". The prior security equipment from another company that we had couldn't be used. We were told that we could. My wife was informed of the service contract at the moment of installation. There has been multiple occasions of cameras not working, and most recently billing problems. If you don't provide access to a credit card for payment, it's like pulling teeth to pay your bill, and to have your payment credited to your account!

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am extremely dissatisfied with ADT’s service. I’ve been trying for three months to cancel my account after moving to a new home, and the process has been unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Despite paying the required cancellation and exit fees, I continue to receive letters claiming I still owe additional money. Every interaction has been a struggle, with long wait times, confusing information, and no clear resolution.
Their mobile application and services were also low quality and difficult to use, frequently causing issues with connectivity and reliability. All I want is for my account to be closed and the billing to stop. This experience has been far more difficult than it should be. Warning to others: stay clear of ADT. Their customer service, app performance, and cancellation process have been nothing short of exhausting and disappointing.

I canceled the service after 3 years with ADT. The reason is I am moving, I don't want to give them my new address, but they kept pushing for it. They gave me a hard time and passed me around. A representative lied to me that the account could not cancel and pass me to the other department. They eventually resolved it, but the process shouldn’t have been this hard or unpleasant.

This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for. It’s like pulling teeth for them to honor what they sell you on. Believing I have 30 days to cancel and a 3 year contract and calling 6 days in to cancel to be told it’s 3 days to cancel and a 5 year contract is OSBURD. Tiffany S from customer relations is a DISINGENUOUS HUMAN BEING who’s callous. And after speaking with the legal team I never should have been able to get a contract with ADT. This is pitiful and they prey on veterans and new home buyers. Look up reviews in multiple places, I promise there are worst reviews everywhere else.

I am very disappointed with my experience with ADT. My account was debited twice for the same payment, and I was told that I would receive a full refund of $154.28. Later, a representative said I would only get $119, and when I followed up with a manager, he assured me that I would receive the full amount back. However, I have not received the $119 or the full refund that was promised. The manager mentioned that the system had generated a fee, but this was before I was told that the full amount would be refunded. Since then, I’ve been given different answers each time I call, and none of them have been honest or consistent. This has been very frustrating and unprofessional. I trusted ADT to resolve this issue fairly, but the lack of accountability and transparency has been disappointing.

I asked ADT to come and put a box in my bedroom because I couldn’t hear anything upstairs. The system is easy to use and I have only had one trouble with it one time with the five years that we have them. The price is worthwhile. We’ve been very happy with it and I’m glad to have it.

Horrible horrible company to have. My alarm panel went haywire and kept going off and sending out a silent alarm. Tried to get it fixed and they wanted a $60 service fee and another $60+$100 to replace a panel that went haywire. The tech showed up early while I was at work and nothing could be done. I told them when I could be home. The woman told me ”Well people take off of work to have service done.” Ya hell no. Called again to have a tech come out last week for today October 30th at 430. The tech showed up at 2:45..and they want an $800 cancellation fee. Don’t use this company.

Scan all material closely. Record the meeting, if possible. The original salesperson, despite redundant verification of equipment discussed, routinely verified the same cost to me. Come the installation day, I discover she cut approximately $800 of equipment & labor from her original amount. By that time, cancellation would trigger hefty cancellation fees. ADT has not replied to inquiries.

I called to cancel ADT after 10 plus years with them. We got new windows and I needed four window break or window tabs for protection on our new windows. They were going to charge me $600 to put these on. So we went with a different security system. When I canceled one of their employees whose name I will not reveal told me he'd give me 25% off my cancellation fee. I got Bill today and there was no 25% off. I work my way all the way up to corporate and no one would help me. So not only do they charge an atrocious amount of money for stuff but they also don't keep their word.

The third issue is that I switched internet carriers, because you have to have internet to have ADT. When that happened, the monitors and the cameras went down. The guy who came to install the AT&T internet tried to program the little box to the internet, but it wouldn’t go through, and he told me that I had to call ADT.
So I called ADT and talked to a nice representative. I told him what was going on, and he said he would send somebody out to program the box and make sure everything was running. He then told me it was going to cost money. I asked why, and he explained that the guy who sold the system to me didn’t tell me to put a warranty on it. He waived the fee, added the warranty, and put it on my payment.
I also called technical support for the voice feature. I want to be able to say to the person outside, “Well, what do you want?” or “Who are you?” instead of going all the way to the door. Right now, I can hear them when they’re outside talking, but they can’t hear me. I tried to program the phone without touching the box so I could talk. I can hear them talking, but I can’t respond to them.
Customer support tried to walk me through it. I was told to go on my phone and hit this, hit that. I tried it several times, even while I was talking to him and after, but I couldn’t get it to work. I really wish I had that feature where I could talk to them instead of having to go to the door, because I’m here by myself. I’m in a walker and a wheelchair, and I live on a busy street. There are times when people walk up asking if I want the yard cut or something, and we’ve already caught two or three people on camera coming into the yard. So even with the issues, it’s worth every penny.

I’ve had ADT for over 20 years. They were Protection 1 at first, and ADT bought Protection 1 out. I chose them because of the price, and if it's not broken, they don't fix it. I had no problem with them. They’re excellent. Great company, great service.
All of their packages do meet my expectations. When I'm at home, I'll put it on away mode. But the alarm is on. And when I put the alarm on to leave, I don't have any issues. I like all of its features.
Well, I don't have the wireless key, the keychain remote. I still have it on my phone. That's one of the things that they offered me. But I've had so many other issues coming up, I haven't even had a chance to even do anything.

We’ve had ADT for a long time. Our system’s been working great. So, we haven’t had to use their customer service. Everything's been working, and we haven't had any trouble with it. It's doing a good job.
We’ve got animals in the house, and we could check on them when we’re away from home. We could also check on the driveway to make sure nobody’s coming in. We use it all the time. When we’re going, I constantly check it most of the time.
Well, I just would say that we really feel like we're safe, with the animals and property that we have. It's a great thing to get, I think. I'd always like the payment to be less, but I'm willing to pay it for security.

I had ADT previously where I lived in Portland, Oregon for about 20 years. And I moved to Indiana. I have a home there. Well, I work back and forth in Portland, and I live in Indiana at Crown Point. So hoping to have the same service that I had here in Portland.
But anyway, yes, I can get the same service that I had here. I had no problems. They’re very great. The installation team, they did an excellent job. There was a mishap where they called me and said I owe the bill. I didn’t because it’s automatic pay. But we got that correct.
Everything is good about the whole packet. it. If I didn’t have the whole packet, then it wouldn't be of any value to me. So I like it all, the cameras. I like everything, and I had no issues with the price.

I previously had ADT. The package does meet my expectations. I have alarms on all my windows, the back door in the basement, my back door on the first floor, and my front door. I guess all of them are my favorite because I never have a problem with them.
The only problem I've had was when I moved to my new residence in 2022. They were supposed to carry my contract over from my last place. But they started me off with a whole new contract. When I tried to get a service that would suit me a lot better, they told me I couldn’t.
I was very upset with them. I thought it was illegal. I didn't sign anything. So, I was like, I'm just gonna cancel ADT and find another service that can give me everything I want, without having to pay extra.
When I called them, the lady, who seemed real friendly, informed me that I have a contract until 2027. They put me in a five-year contract and told me I was stuck with it. So there's no way I can get out of it. I just go ahead and pay the bill every month. It kept moving.

I used to have ADT a long time ago. And then, I switched to Vivint, but I went back to ADT. Vivint kept losing power, and I had to always have somebody to come out. I mean I kept moving service when something was happening.
I wasn’t able to get everything because I couldn’t get the ring camera. My favorite feature with ADT was the camera. But I would say ADT is the best. I had the cops come to my house when the alarm went off. I’m at work, and they sit right there until I get them.

I had ADT a long time ago, then we quit using any security service. We started using it again because of State Farm. State Farm has a program that works with ADT.
The features of the service package are very good. Their quick responses are my favorite. So far, I’ve had really good luck with ADT.

I just saw ADT advertised a lot and know my neighbors have it and were happy, so I said I’ll do it too. I wanted the house protected. I like that someone calls if I accidentally trip it while going out with my dog. There’s a response very quickly.
My husband just passed away three months ago, and I’m alone. But I really feel much more secure now because of that. I definitely would recommend it. ADT is great. I have no problems. It’s a good system.

My experience with ADT has been fine. They call me when the alarm goes off and we’re not here. They call after to make sure that everything is all right. They are very understanding, very knowledgeable, and very on top of things.
There’s been some adjustments over the years. They originally put a number of sensors in for various things, which we had to take out. One of the doors was closed and permanently blocked, so we took that sensor out.
It’s also no good putting sensors in the hallway. We had cats running back and forth. We were setting it off all the time. We had somebody come by recently to replace a unit and that was fine.
All of the guys from ADT know their business, know what they’re doing, and they do it quickly. We’ve been with ADT for the past 10 years, and I'm glad we still are.

I’m very pleased with ADT. Years ago, I had another security system and I wasn’t happy with them. It was my daughter who recommended ADT. She was here when they put it in.
I had an incident where I put two pizzas in the oven and forgot the cardboard underneath the pizzas. It started a fire because it was too close to the burning unit. Right away, ADT’s people called and also the fire department. I was ashamed that I had done it, but I was very proud that the security system works.
I was very happy about it. At least, I know exactly that my system works. The fire started in the oven, but it was only smoke that filled the house. There wasn’t any fire in any place else. I was so pleased with ADT and their quick answer.

Over time, ADT’s equipment does change, but it’s still the same basic idea. I haven’t had any issues with it other than just replacing batteries. What impresses me most about the system is the ease of use.
I’ve been with ADT for well over 30 years, and I would rate the customer service a 10. And as a matter of fact, the price has actually gone down over time. I would totally recommend ADT.

Every time I call ADT, they’ve been very professional and helpful. The installation team did a wonderful job. My house is totally protected now.
I got the cameras, the Ring doorbell, everything. The Ring doorbell is my favorite. I don’t have to get up and answer the door if I don’t want to.

I’ve had to reach out to ADT a couple of times once for a sensor issue and another time for a Wi-Fi connection problem with my panel. Each time, I was impressed by how quickly someone answered the phone and scheduled a technician to resolve my issue. In a time when so many companies rely on automated systems and AI, it’s refreshing to call a company and actually speak to a real person right away. There were no endless prompts or frustrating loops just prompt, professional, and caring customer service.
If ADT offered internet service, I’d switch to them immediately that’s how much I value their commitment to great service. Thank you, ADT, for hiring people who genuinely care and for delivering an outstanding customer experience every time!

ADT almost lost me as a customer. The alarm was working fine, and then all of a sudden, the cloud link went out. I called up and the rep said they’ll fix that over the phone. They tried but couldn't do it. The rep then said, “I'm gonna have a higher-level call you within 48 hours.” A week later, a guy called and said, “I can't do it. I'm gonna have to give it to the supervisor.” We went four weeks horsing around with it until I finally said to them, “If it doesn't get fixed in a week, kiss me goodbye.” They said they’ll send a tech out there.
The first tech just walked in and said, “That cloud link is bad and your system's outdated. Should we set you up for a new system? It's only $800 or $700.” I said, “No. You walk in the door and don't even try anything, and you tell me you don't have the part, you’ll order it, and you’ll be back tomorrow or the next day.” After a week, I never heard from him. That one technician just wants to sell a new system. I don't know if he gets a commission on it, but he should fix the problem. He turns around and says, “We don't really do these.” But when I call up and talk to somebody, what I hear is, “What's he talking about? Of course we service those.”
I called and said, “We're getting close to cancel time.” I was told, “We ordered you the part and we're gonna send the tech out.” Now they sent a young girl and she was phenomenal. She got everything up and running. But two weeks later, it stopped working again. I called up and it was nightmare with the virtual assistant. I heard “Try this.” I say “I just did” and the reply was “Okay, try this.” You're talking to a recording so that does nothing. It kept going over and over.
The young girl came back, but two weeks later, the system went on the fritz again. They said to try this and that and that didn't work, so I’m told they’re gonna send me a new cloud link. The guy on the phone got the system working except for the one light switch. He said, “What happened was that one light switch was bad, and it runs in series. If one gets sorted out, it'll kill the whole thing.”
He sent me a new light switch and we set it up for a virtual call on a Sunday between 9:30 and 10:00. I was out on the road today, and I get a phone call saying, “I'm calling from the escalated department for our appointment.” I said, “I don't know where you got your signal from, but I have it scheduled for Sunday.” The person says, “I'll reschedule it.” It's like the left doesn't know what the right is doing. I love the system, but how many weeks do I get played around where you sit at home and wait? They gave me one month free, but it's been longer than one month. My records are there. I don't know what has happened or didn't happen.
I called ADT to pay a compliment to the young lady who fixed everything and the answer I got was, “I'll pass it on.” I said, “Do you wanna know who I am?” I was told, “No, that's okay.” That again is poor representation. I wrote a letter to the CEO of ADT complimenting the young lady. I never heard from him or another guy. I made a copy of the letter I wrote him and had one of the reps personally give it to the young lady, so at least I know she got it. What employee doesn't like getting a compliment forwarded to the boss? But again, why doesn't the boss respond and say, “I'm so glad that after a rough run you had with it, you were so happy with her. I'll let her know.” Just give a little pat on the back and say, “That's our employee,” and let me know that it registered.
It's a great system, excluding that 2 months of chasing my tail around. I've been happy with the alarm. I love the garage door opener because I go out of the house and I’m like “Did or didn’t I close the garage?” Even if it's open, I can close it from wherever I am. I can just pop it on the phone. With customer service, when you get somebody that's good, they're great. I understand, on the entry level, you can hear the pages turning. They're going through the routine, so it's fine. You go to the next level up, but when the next level up can't figure it out, that's concerning.

I got the cable system from ADT and I've had them for 25 years. I like pauses and being able to see the features on the monitor. I want the monitors in a pause, which everybody was doing back in the day. However, I would like to have the monitors in my bedroom so I can look at them when I'm there. The price is not too high, but it's keeps going up. It's also not easy to change my system where I can upgrade it.

I’ve been with ADT for six years. We use the video camera, giving us a view of our front porch. That's the main thing we check every day, throughout the day. ADT is doing what we wanted them to do and we're not having any problems. When we do have one, it's easily resolved.

Any time I’ve needed them to come out, like to change the big battery on my older system, they’ve been there. The only time I ever get a phone call is when I make a mistake and open the door and go out, and then it’s just a voice saying the system was turned off.

We had an alarm problem a couple of weeks ago where we accidentally tampered with the carbon monoxide alarm. It went off, and we didn’t know what it was. We contacted the fire department, and they came out and couldn’t find anything. We then contacted ADT, but they never called us back. Other than that, the cost is too high for what they gave us.

ADT had to come and put a different panel on, and that fixed any problems we had. The installer was great, and everybody I dealt with was fine.
The ADT system was already installed in the home that we bought. The only thing ADT had to do was switch me to cellular service because, for whatever reason, the system couldn’t keep contact with the Wi-Fi. But that was already resolved. It works fine.

Every time I need something and I make a phone call, it's good service. I find that ADT has people speaking Spanish too. It makes it easy for people like me. I always tell people they're the best. A couple of my friends, somebody broke into their house and they don't have one, so I said they need an alarm. I feel safe to have it. It’s good service for the price. I have nothing to complain about. I love it.

I've used ADT in four different houses. I’ve enjoyed their service. I keep ADT because of the easy way to set it and take care of it. When there's something wrong, they come out right away. That's why I continue to use it for so many years. It's definitely a good value.

We just moved into a new house so we needed a security provider. A guy from ADT just came to our door. He was good, but I wasn’t happy with the installation team. They came and tried to sell me a whole bunch of stuff. I was ready to leave ADT because I don’t like being pushed. Other than that, my experience with ADT since then has been good.
I like the fact that I don’t have to be home and I can look through my house or the outside of my house and see what’s going on.

The ADT system is reliable. It definitely gives me a greater sense of security. The only problem I’ve had in the last year since I got the system was one of my cameras went out right after a year, and they had to replace it. But they replaced it for free, so it didn’t cost me anything other than a service call to come out.
My favorite is the cameras. Just a peace of mind that I can lock my house. And also, using the keypad on the front door. I can go out and walk the neighborhood and come back and not have to use a key to get in.
The customer service has been great. They had the camera replaced a couple of months ago. They had to come out twice because the first time they came out, they said, “Oh, you’ve got the newest model camera and we don’t even have these in stock currently.” They had to order it for me and come back a second time. So one of my cameras was down for at least three weeks because they also had a problem with a lack of service representatives in this area to come out and fix things. They had to hire another set of people for the Northwest Arkansas region.

ADT has been around forever, and as far as I know, they seem reputable. So, I signed up with them 10 years ago. And the installation process was easy. I have no problem with them. I’ve only had to call them twice, and it’s been convenient for us. They answered, and they helped me the best they could, and I’m fine with that. They were easy to talk to. Their price is also not high since I use them every day. So, I can rely on ADT, which is important.

ADT is a good system to have, and I’ve told a few family members about it. I like the fact that I can arm and disarm it using my phone. Three weeks ago, it started malfunctioning on its own. We called up ADT and the agent walked us through changing the batteries while on video call and it’s okay now.

I usually find somebody knowledgeable and helpful whenever I go down to the ADT Branch location here. I have had no problems changing and upgrading phones. They usually handy any false alarm quickly and without any difficulty. I’ve only had positive experiences with ADT.

I already had my own smoke alarms in the house before I had ADT’s alarm system put in. So, I had double duty. I took all of my old ones off of the wall so that if the buzzing went off, I know it’s ADT.
I am 83 years old and I have a problem with two of my detectors because I cannot reach them. The one in my basement is at the top of my steps, which is at a door that I can open and just reach and get it.
I live alone now and I was concerned about the battery going dead in the middle of the night and the detectors going off. My kids don’t allow me to get on ladders because I’ve had a couple of bad falls. But if they go off in the middle of the night, I don’t know what to do, because that thing would beat so loud for a long time. It would be buzzing until I could get somebody the next day. I couldn’t stand it all night. I’d have to get a stick and knock it off the wall. That is something older people should think about when they are installing those. The last time it happened, it was during the day. One of my neighbors came over and changed the battery.
So, I called ADT the other day to find out if it went off in the night and I call them, if they could shut the whole system down until I could get somebody the next day to come and take it off so that I can put a new battery in it. Because you don’t know how long the batteries are gonna last.The rep told me that I could do it myself by pushing the dots that are in the right-hand corner. So, I wrote down my notes and put it under my pad that’s on the wall.
I’m okay with it right now and so far, I haven’t had anything that wasn’t resolved with ADT. But I do need to call and talk to them with regards to my detectors. I just don’t like the idea of them charging me for moving them because it is a safety matter and it is their product. But it’s probably something that I could have somebody move for me. If they’re just put on the wall with a couple screws in the back of them, then we can talk to other companies and change it to whatever would be better for me at my age if ADT won’t do that since I only have one more and a couple months in my contract.
This is something ADT should look into. Maybe other people don’t want their detectors down lower but I would rather it be down where I can reach it. Don’t put them up next to the ceiling where a normal person could not reach them or can’t get on a ladder.

I have been an ADT customer for over 20 yrs and I have to say although their products are decent, I rate ADT and its customer svc to be -10/10. Their customer svc depts are too siloed and very deceiving. On many interactions with this company and it's depts, I have been transferred up to 7x's to get any resolution resulting with me being further frustrated, unheard, problem unresolved, and me angrily hanging up. Even their own Sales reps and installers complain about the difficulty dealing with their company's customer svc depts. Regarding pricing & billing, I experienced unexpected charges, difficulties cancelling contracts, and feeling misled by sales reps.

ADT technicians refused to fulfill the agreed-upon contract, leaving half of the equipment we paid for uninstalled and undelivered. ADT refused to enforce the contract. We cancelled our account, and got to pay for 30 more days while they "processed the cancellation".

Lied to me about the contract. Said I could cancel anytime and just be responsible for paying the equipment. Turns out, that was a lie. Dishonest business is their specialty. They want you to pay them for 5 years no matter what. No customer support. The cameras suck.

System set up in February, neither system or equipment has worked properly yet ADT still took autopay out of my accounts. Spent over 200 hours trying to get it resolved and scheduled multiple appointments for techs to come to my house to fix service and equipment, their technicians never called or showed up. Tried to cancel contract per 6 month guarantee and was scheduled a branch call which was cancelled by their social media person because I posted a bad review giving honest information about my experiences.
Now it's past the 6 month guarantee (they said they were not going to give me anyway) and now are trying to charge me to have a technician come out to fix the equipment and services I have been paying for or charge me full price to cancel the contract. Even their own billing department admitted she would not pay for the services they continue to charge me for, but since I'm a disabled veteran I can not afford to pay the contract off in one lump sum. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH ADT.

6 years with them and their service got worst each year. We had issues the last 2 years with no success to have them solve the problems. Today we tried to cancel our account. Before addressing the issue they tried to up sell us. After agreeing to have someone look at the equipment Rich* mentioned nothing would change until December 2025. We were made aware our payment changed monthly to an increase and were not notified my mail nor email. We logged in and view each statement and nothing was stated there. This is beyond unprofessional. Two of the cancellation reps pretended they could not hear us when we declined extra services! Do not sign contract!! So disappointing!!

As a customer for nearly one year, here is my honest review of ADT. Overall, the system is not worth the cost. I constantly have to troubleshoot the cameras mainly the camera outside my garage. ADT promotes better service because their equipment is hardwired, however, this is not the case. The system still heavily relies upon WiFi. New homeowners be warned, the salesman will pop up and try to sell you this system. DO NOT FALL FOR THE TRAP. You are better to go with a more modern company that is DIY install. Also, they push a 3 year contract, and pressure sell you into signing up within 48 hours so there little to no time to cancel. I would never recommend to anyone to sign up with ADT.

The sales reps entered through a 5ft tall privacy fence clearly to keep people out. He claimed someone was supposed to call me to notify me they were coming out… no one ever did. He entered onto my private property without permission, he accidentally let a very expensive dog out of my yard because they entered without permission, he was aggressive with sales, and he became rude when I didn’t immediately sign up for service. I would not recommend their services. I’ve also read reviews about reps lying and there are hidden cancellation fees and up-charges. Based upon how I was treated today I would never recommend this company.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST THIEVES!!!!! My system has been down since MARCH 2024 and they have done NOTHING but brought my bill from $59.99 to $19.99. They then had a technician FACETIME me (be so for real, I pay you guys to come out not for ME to fix it..) and then never come out after seeing it was shot. During my discussion with customer service, I was informed my bill will be brought down Dec 5, 2025 to $4.99 IF IT IS NOT FIXED? So you're telling me you are already planning for it to not get fixed..... so essentially you are just going to take my money and turn the other cheek. I was then informed that I LEGALLY have the option to cancel my contract due to them not holding up their end if it continues.
Tell me why I just called and they have set up my FOURTH tech call..... I said "Okay you have until Dec 5. It is Oct 20th. If you don't fix it by then, I am canceling free of charge on my end and my lawyer will be involved." That line got them to come out to my house TOMORROW... They have TRIED to send a tech out to me FOUR TIMES. FOUR. Since March 2024. DO NOT USE THIS SYSTEM!!!! THEY ARE THIEVES, LIARS and MORALLY DISGUSTING. If it works by Dec 5, I am still cancelling because these people are one fat joke.

ADT has been wonderful. I’ve known them about 35 years, when the company I worked for installed an ADT security system and I was in charge of it. Since then, I’ve used ADT for two of my own homes, and my parents also use their home health monitoring system. Their prices are appropriate, especially when I compared to family and friends who didn't talk to me before they got other services.
I’ve never had a problem with any ADT equipment beyond normal things like batteries dying, and customer service has always been excellent at walking me through that. The installation teams have always been informative and kept us up to date on what was happening and their progress. We’ve talked about possibly adding a Ring camera, but I’ve noticed that many of our neighbors have more problems once they add one. But I understand we could add it if we wanted to.
I’ve worked with different systems over the years, including programming cards for people and for their access points at the company, and ADT’s systems have always worked well. I’ve had family members use other companies that don't show up when they're supposed to, and that’s never happened to me with ADT.

My experience with ADT wasn’t good. I was told from the sales guy and the technician that I can use my compatible equipment (lights, door locks, thermostat and garage door) with the ADT equipment. Once I signed the contract and he took down my old equipment, he told me ADT doesn’t use third party equipment. So whatever they promised before I signed they didn’t honor it and basically said too bad. I tried a couple of times to cancel by phone and it would cost me $5000. I also ask for the taped conversation I had with the sales person and they won’t give it to me because they know they are wrong. Don’t trust ADT.

I would give them no stars if I could. It’s a long story but the short version… I canceled before it was even set up because of poor customer service. I received the email for the cancellation on sept 25th and I had three people say they would send a return label and I have received nothing. (That’s after about the 4th call and fifteen times being transferred and three hours on the phone.) Then you took money out of my account without consent because you guys weren’t doing your job. It’s not my problem that you have not received your equipment back. You charge me equipment fee and then today you charge my accounts when I do not have your service. My credit card will handle your laziness and dispute the charges. I went with another company because of your lack of customer service and passing the buck because nobody wants to do their job.

ADT monitors my alarm. I had the basic price once at 30$. Then I had some sirens added on outside so they raised it to 40$, which was okay. But, I thought it would be just me paying for the installation to put it up, and not having to raise the rate per month.

I've had ADT for over 18 years, I would have thought they would treat long-term customers better!! They seem to think they have free reign of pulling funds out of my bank account. My bill was $166. They pulled $266!! A predatory and unethical practice. Stay away from ADT. I'm looking for another security company right now.

It took me several months to finally get a tech to come out and repair my alarm system. I can't wait for my contract to end. I should have known better during the initial installation. I ordered exterior cameras and the works but only received a doorbell camera that required batteries. I never received the package I requested and strangely enough, the cost did not decrease. The rep charged the same price as quoted for the full system package. A total scam of a company.

I would give 0 star to their customer service if I could. I submitted a free quote request on ADT website, and couple mins later someone (claimed to be from ADT) called me. After exchange of info and set up a free installation quote, she asked me the credit card info to process the booking. Hours later, I found a charge of $210 from SafeStreets on my credit card. I googled it and called ADT right away. The customer services were extremely rude and kept saying that since you signed up with SafeStreets, you can't sign up with ADT for 90 days. Geez, I haven't even signed up anything yet. My question was why SafeStreets acquired my contact info when I submitted a free quote on ADT website. They must have security leaks and I asked them to flag the issue to their IT. He just kept saying that no one is going to solve your issue, no matter who you talk to.
I think their customer support requires better training and also the company shall hire people with better IQ and EQ. Also, I tried to call SafeStreets to cancel the appointment and they just kept transferring me to the other department who never picked up the call. Anyway, I will stay away from these two companies at all costs. I will just dispute the charges with my bank directly. However, not everyone is so lucky to have bank support. I saw many ppl had unauthorized charges from these companies with no hope of getting refunds. So stay clear from them.

I’ve been happy with ADT all these years. The system has generally been terrific. However, I’m having a hard time right now because during the night, it loses contact with the internet, and it makes an annoying beeping sound. Someone called me, but he only did what I do when it happens and it only works for a couple of hours, but then it’s back making that sound again. This is the first problem I’ve had since 1989 that’s not easily solvable.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with ADT's customer service was frustrating enough to warrant one. From long time wait time to being transferred repeatedly from robot to robot without resolution, only to be hung up on at the end of the call, not speaking to no one.

My experience with ADT Security Systems has been nothing short of a nightmare, marked by malfunctioning equipment, incompetent service, and a callous disregard for customer needs—especially for my elderly mother, who was repeatedly disturbed by their faulty system. It really began several years ago when ADT acquired our original security company, “Protection One”. But the last straw—two months ago, our ADT security system began malfunctioning when the smoke detectors started chirping, indicating low batteries-a loud chirp approximately every 60 seconds. We replaced them with known, good batteries, but the incessant chirping persisted. Worse, the system began triggering false fire alarms at 2:30 AM, randomly, jolting my elderly mother awake in a state of panic.
Our attempts to resolve the issue through ADT’s customer service were exasperating. We endured multiple phone and video troubleshooting sessions, which were frustratingly ineffective. ADT eventually sent a technician, but this visit was a waste of time—the technician couldn’t fix the problem and even provided an incorrect diagnosis, leaving us no closer to a solution.
When it became clear the system was unfixable, we tried to cancel our monitoring subscription and have ADT remove or disable the system to stop the disruptive false alarms. They refused to cancel the subscription or shut down the system, instead shuffling us between call center agents and so-called “account management” personnel.
Fed up with ADT’s evasiveness and utter failure to deliver a functional service, I took matters into my own hands and ripped the system out of the wall, disconnecting all power to stop the madness. I informed ADT we would not be paying the upcoming subscription bill, as their service was not only useless but actively harmful. I strongly advise anyone considering home security to steer clear of ADT—they’ve proven they care more about locking customers into contracts than providing a reliable, respectful service.

They made me require a security system because I live alone. And when I first got it, the first couple of months, I had a few problems with the service, but ADT straightened it out. They compensated me for that. I had paid for two outside cameras and the electrician never came by to hook them up. I had to call them back and tell them that I was gonna send them back because I was paying for a service that I wasn’t getting.
The system does pretty good, but sometimes the battery gets low. I have to keep charging it less than a few times a month. I feel better now that I have ADT. I just wish I would have had the outside cameras done. But the ones I have there, they’re just fine.

My husband heard about ADT, and I knew some people in the area that had it. We’ve had it for at least 8 to 10 years now. Before we got ADT, someone broke into our garage and took a lot of tools and stuff out when we were both at work, so my husband decided to get it.
I’ve had an ADT person come here because I’ve had a problem with the slider on one of my back doors. The alarm would go off, and I had a problem with that. They came, and I was very pleased. They were very respectful people, and I’m very impressed with them. The performance of the system is very good. I just lost my husband, so this is very important to me. I feel very secure in my home.

Moving into the house seven years ago, ADT was the alarm system they previously had. When I wanted to put it in my name, it was pre-existing. Everything was good. No complaints. I would say that I had it for seven years or more, and I haven’t had any issues with it at all.
I trust ADT because, fairly recently, I got a call that my alarm went off. It was the glass breakage, and I had to come home. It was actually my cat knocking a vase off the dresser and the glass broke. That actually made me feel good in a way that it was detected. I was relieved when I saw the broken glass.

ADT reps were walking around my neighborhood. They were friendly. Customer service is decent. I don’t talk to them very often, but I’m pleased. They answer my questions, and if I need my password reset, they’re able to do that.
The technicians were good and professional. I have a very simple product, mine is not as complicated as some of the others, like door cameras and all that kind of stuff. I don’t do all of that.

I just bought a house, and I wanted a security system so much that someone introduced me to ADT. He told me that he worked with ADT and that it’s a good company. And his customer service was excellent. They were supposed to come one time to fix something, but I wasn’t home. So, we had it a little late because they took so long to come. But it was okay. I’m not gonna blame them for it.

I was a customer of theirs for 27 years. I upgraded my system from wired to wireless because I got rid of my home phone and I tried to cancel but the high-pressure and they said they put a new system in for free. They did that and they also I was questioning. Do you service your batteries? They said yes for free. I called to get them replaced and they said it would be $160 so I don’t need them anymore. I have a new security system with cameras, but they charged me more months that I haven’t even come up yet so they are super hard to get rid of these bums. I am retired and I don’t need their headache.. My recommendation is do not use them. I’ve never had any success with their monitoring.

If I could give this company 0 star, I would. Expensive, unreliable, they don't send technicians after 3pm (so you have to have a job that allows you to work from home or you're screwed). Every single time I've had to lose a workday for a technician to resolve an issue, they either cannot fix the problem or arrive after the (4)-hour window work they make you wait. The services and equipment that you pay monthly are leased, which means that they will take it back once your contract expires. You will rarely resolve a problem over the phone (minimum time on the phone is 1hr), so they will make you pay for a site visit. If your contract is with a 3rd party camera installation, they blame technicians for their lack of ability to fix anything. The worst experience of my life.

I have been trying to help out and talked to people about how good ADT is. We are using an app, and we can see everything going on with our system. The pricing is also wonderful, and the customer service doesn't give me a problem.
