I was with another company and ADT bought them out. ADT has been fine with me. I haven't needed them since they became my company. But I know if I hit the ambulance button, I'm gonna get an ambulance. When I did that in the past, I got fast service. All my friends and family know I have ADT.

I've been with ADT for four months. My system was installed in the model house that we bought and its features have been good. Also, I had good interactions with the installer.

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you do use them, DO NOT BUY THE EQUIPMENT OUTRIGHT…RENT IT. They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. They constantly have given us the run around, not returned calls, cancelled appointments, and even flat out lied and claimed they came to our house and we didn’t answer. We have a camera to prove this never happened. We have gone over a month without our system being properly set up and with only 1 of 3 cameras installed.
No matter how unhappy you are with their service, even if they don’t provide it properly, they will not refund you. We want nothing more than to return our items and cancel their service, but since we bought our equipment outright, we are stuck with this awful service. If they can’t even set up the service correctly how are we to trust they will contact the right people in the event of an emergency. Save yourself the money and go with someone else. They already have your money so they don’t really care what happens after that. They apparently don’t have managers either to help resolve issues. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE.

Customer for 27 years. Obsolete equipment was expensive to replace. Went with a better coverage company and was charged a next quarter billing fee to cancel. Equipment to be replaced was non connected to alarm company. Called to see about replacement. Was quoted 3600$. No breaks for existing customer. After new company system installed was notified "You can’t just quit" and charged full quarter fees. Extremely dissatisfied with service. Difficult to avoid ai and when person is received only interested in monetary gains. Sometimes learning what a company is like costs money. Just sorry I was a customer without needing interaction as long as I was.

We have been dealing with the system going off daily, not once did someone call to see if there were an issue at our home. Battery issues technician been out, replace the battery next week the same thing over and over again. It been at least a year or more. Very dissatisfied and I’ve already told USAA to stop recommending this company because they aren’t living up to good expectations. Our neighbor changed service to another firm the same reason customer service and service system not working. I will be removing my automatic payment and revoking my contract because ADT isn’t living up to their expecting and what they promise.

I have been a long standing customer with ADT, over 10 and half years. I called to cancel service, since I moving. I received the worse customer service ever in my entire life and I'm 75 years old. The person for this horrendous service was JAMES. He wouldn't give his last name. I tried speaking to corporate, his supervisor, but it fell on deaf ears. I will under no circumstances use ever again ADP and definitely not recommend this company to family or friends. James was the rudest person, didn't listen to any of my requests. I don't know how this company will stay in business with staff like that. You lost a valuable customer.

So for (5) years ADT no customer service still sucks!!! due to rude people, calls dropping. I'm month to month with no contract which is great. I have a Wi-fi default on my panel that I have called in about for over a week. I get stuck on the phone for 30 mins and then the call drops because I want to cancel this lazy service. Company is still very misleading. Don't appreciate being billed a month in advance. I lost trust within the same year I got this service.

I am furious with ADT. I have been a loyal customer as a married woman for many years. I recently got a divorce and am in the process of filing a restraining order against my ex. I contacted ADT to remove his name from anything associated with the account as he no longer resides in the home. They told me they could transfer it and it would cost me nothing. They said a tech needed to come out and take a look at the equipment. He came. Was a great guy! He found some additional blind spots and sold me a few more cameras. My bill went from $59.99 a month to $229 per month (due today). But you can't put a price on peace right?
They switched everything over and then I see an additional charge of $566 charged to my bank account from the original account with no warning or explanation. I have been passed to multiple reps (some with major attitudes and some trying their best to work with a crappy policy) with the resolution being to take the amount they charged me from my ex's account (with no good explanation) and applying it to my new account. So I'm thinking I beefed up security and am only paying $229 today, I ended up paying almost $800 today! Since when do they prey on domestic violence victims?
I just wanted my property secure, you would think a security company is savvy in how to make these changes. Divorce and DV isn't rare. They treated me like a brand new customer who needed all new equipment. I'm so disappointed in how they handled this. Because the easier solution would be to just hope my psycho ex doesn't break into a house he no longer owns only to be able to receive a call from ADT claiming it's his account, despite having no legal rights to the property. This dumb run around nonsense could get someone killed. BEWARE!

Ordered flood light camera only. Received that in mail with a home security set that I did not order. My husband put up flood light, which worked great but would only save recording for three hours. So I called customer service. Was told had to plug in the monitor system in order to save recordings. I told them again I did not want that system and I wanted to send back. So technician called this morning, told me that that was not true and the flood light had nothing to do with the monitor. Technician could not understand why my flood light could not connect to my already ADT pulse app that I have had for six years. So nothing has worked. On the phone for two hours today. Nothing.
So now I have had enough. Want to cancel it all, send equipment back. Done!! Oh no, now I am being treated badly, kept putting me on hold. Agent comes back on and tells me sixteen hundred dollars to cancel. Pay for equipment I did not ask for and pay for a system that won’t operate. Two months is all I have had this headache. So that is my story. ADT screwed me over because they can’t figure out what is wrong. It is so wrong. ADT does care about the safety of people; they care about money. Again, corporate greed strikes again.

Very dissatisfied consumer, First tried to cancel service, Lied to by customer service. About the procedure to cancel subscription. Now I have a 7 years subcription that should have been canceled with no problem. Not with ADT. Now one time fees are shows up on monthly statement, right here at the end of the 7 years. Best advise is run away and don't look back. Very Dissatisfied Consumer.

We were customers of ADT for approx 15 years and we had a good relationship. We had them at our business as well as our personal home. We sold our company and cancelled the ADT at the business location 7 yrs ago. This last year we called and cancelled our home ADT account and paid the last 30 days and noticed we were still getting billed on our VISA after a couple months. I called ADT and they looked into it and said that we had 2 accounts at our house and that we had only cancelled one of them. I tried to explain to them that we only have 1 house and only 1 residents at that location and that when I called to cancel it was to all be cancelled as I said I did not need their services any longer. They were no help and continued to bill my Visa card. So I called Visa and asked them to look into it and to stop allowing ADT to charge my card.
Visa got a refund for the 3 months that they had charged my card and then they sent me a direct bill for the charges. After this I called ADT in Nov and stated that I should not owe this and ADT sent it to COLLECTIONS (MIND YOU our credit score is over 800). I tried to explain to the company the situation but is all they are doing is collecting.
ADT has changed a LOT from when we first signed up and the turn over of employees is very high so you will have a hard time dealing with the same people.I would be VERY careful if you sign up with ADT and read all the small print as well as when you cancel (and you will) get it in writing that you cancelled ALL of your accounts and then watch your CREDIT CARD! I WILL NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH ADT AGAIN after this.

I would absolutely not recommend this company. They hold you hostage to contracts although it’s their equipment that is defective. I’ve only been with them for four months and wish I never signed with them. I’ve had five technicians come out for the same issue, I have done my part and trying to resolve it according to their instructions and still the same issue with the doorbell camera that continues to die, although it is a wired device and they tell me that I cannot get out of my contract because they only monitor Security and I’m not responsible for the camera, but yet it is their equipment that they installed. I will continue to write negative reviews and every single platform I come across until I get a effective resolution.

Was with ADT for over 10 years for my business...last 2 years my system didn't even work, no one would help unless you wanted to pay a tech to come out at 59. an hour or more, then they were taking out Extra payments, charges kept going up every year, so decided to finally cancel, they were still trying to take payments out, kept getting calls from ADT, automated saying my system wasn't working way after I cancelled, they sent letters saying my bill was overdue, I called back several times, to people that didn't know anything, very rude, last one said it would take 30 days to cancel, & that I still had to pay.... I will never get ADT again...or refer them to anyone.

What a scam. I called to cancel since my rates were increased twice even though I am under contract. The retention person tried making offers to keep me and I respectfully declined. She goes ahead and says I have a $595 fee (more than the price of the service she offered) when I declined that and proceeded to question she closed the account without my consent and proceeded to bill me anyways. Stay far away, there are better options for less money.

My ADT always had an issue. When speak to someone, from Customer Service, you never get the problem resolved. Then they want to charge you to have a technician go to your residence. They try to talk you into correcting the problem, with one of their technicians, over the phone. The problem with that is that it will work for about a week then it goes back to having issues. Two and a half years and I still had issues with my ADT. My basement sensor never worked properly. I recommend going with a different company.

I was given a quote over the phone for the services I requested, then when I requested the written quote in advance of the service, it was completely different. They tried to rework the deal but if my first interaction with your company is to have you try and bait and switch on me, I will not do business with you. Make sure you get the quote in writing before they ever show up to your door.

It is virtually impossible to cancel an account. Spent last week trying to cancel parent's account after explaining one was dead and the other in 24 hour care due to dementia. Took 43 minutes with "Tiffany" to close the account. Each time she said she needed more time to process and then offered a new, lower rate each time, ultimately reaching $7 a month. I refused each time, told her to close the account and got more adamant and then she started asking about what we were going to do with her home and more about her security plans. I resisted screaming at her because I suspected this was all a plan to get me to say something where she could hang up and force me to another operator. Maybe most frustrating customer experience of my life. So consider in whether to use and if using, consider possibly getting vastly lower rates as they gave me -- just by saying you want to cancel.

We have had ADT for 6 years. There has always been an issue with customer service. I didn't have to call that often so I overlooked it. But I called last Friday and the customer service was terrible. I completed my call & called one of their competitors immediately to switch service. In that moment I realized as consumers we are the issue. We stay and pay while being mistreated when we can simply choose not to if they choose not to do better.

I was finally able to cancel my account with ADT. They stuck is in a 3 year contract as soon as we purchased our house. They also set us up with solar which was a whole other scam. When we had issues with our equipment at first it was ok no charges. But after a year they wanted to charge us 300 for someone to come out and fix the sensors, even though we had a package that was supposed to cover it. We just dealt with it until now. When I called to cancel the process started off smooth until I got transferred to the "account manager".
Dietrich was the manager I dealt with and he continued to try and talk over me and tried to get me to sign into another contract. I explained I just want to cancel my account and he then tried AGAIN to sell it to me. As I told him at least 10 times I just want to cancel he kept doing it to pass me off. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he was the manager. This is not how a business should be run by bullying the customer to sign for another contract, or antagonize the customer to the point they start cussing so they can hang up on them and keep them in the service they no longer want to be a part of.

Run. Do NOT go with ADT. Their products are very poor performing. Customer service is good. But what is the point when the customer bears all the cost when the product goes faulty? I paid roughly $4200 in equipment. Monthly service charge was $40. Well, 10 months into the contract, the smoke detector fails. In just 10 months, a product that is hands free with no abuse. The cost to replace, since ADT only provide 3 months warranty on their products, was $115 (if you do not have warranty). And if you do, then Since it is a life safety device, the technician is the only one who can come to replace, they will not ship you one. So, I now have to pay $30 insurance monthly for 12 months AND $99 for the technician to come and replace it AND if he stays past 1/2 hour, the rate is $115 every hour. Again, run! This company has terrible business practices. Their products perform poorly. Don't be fooled by their coupons and friendly customer service, who are very well trained to get the most out of YOU.

I'm writing this review to alert other customers and potential customers about the "free phone video camera" service provided by ADT to fix equipment malfunction and charges for malfunctioning new equipment. I have a second monitor in my bedroom. That monitor stopped working showing a white screen stating to stand by. I communicated over the phone twice with ADT to try to address this issue unsuccessfully. The second time ADT came through my phone for a video conference to try to guide me to rebooting the system, Which didn't work. Then they recommended to repeat this process Supposedly with a more expert technician, again through a phone video conference.
10 minutes after I hung up the phone, I received a communication by email stating that someone oversees was trying to access my phone and change my password. Of note the technician talking to me from ADT was calling from overseas, I know because I had asked him. Of course, this email raised significant concerns regarding a breach of security on the ADT call. Therefore, I canceled the scheduled repeat phone video appointment and requested an in-person evaluation of the equipment.
ADT insists that an in-person evaluation will cost me a minimum of $59. I have tried to request waving of this fee, since I already tried the video conference evaluation and it was unsuccessful. And because I have serious concerns about the safety protection of these communication inside my phone. I have been a customer of ADT for more than 10 years.
It is outrageous that they cannot serve the new equipment provided for my new home less than 3 months ago. This is supposed to be new equipment, which technically should be under warranty. I have no way of knowing for sure if the potential threat to access my phone what's related to the video conference with ADT, however, the time correlation between these two events strongly suggests a possible breach of security into my system at time of ADT video conference. Therefore, I'm scared of doing this videoconference again. The least ADT can do under these circumstances is to provide a service free of charge, when I already tried the free video conference service and they couldn't fix the problem.

ADT uses my debit card like an ATM but I cannot get information about what the charge are for. I have talked to several reps and I can get some numbers but not descriptions. Always very courteous but no answers to describe what charge are specially for.

We were informed around Aug. 2025 by our homeowner insurance company that we would not be renewed in Jan. 2026 if we did not # 1. Install a remote monitored smoke alarm system, #2. Install a low pressure water line sensor and #3. Install a floor level water sensor. We selected ADT for the first 2 issues. The installer/contractor intentionally installed security sensors on doors throughout the house despite our informing him we did not need or want that service. Upon completion of his work he produced a 5 or 6 page online agreement covering the work we ordered AND the security equipment and monitoring charges.
He told us we would only be charged for smoke & water pressure monitoring, but after signing an "adjusted" agreement and paying by Visa for the rest we have had nothing but problems with charge reversals. It took two months to get a new agreement and a $600+ refund for equipment we did not want. Every month we get charged for a financing charge on that equipment which we did not purchase. We call and get it reversed. This company is relentless in apologizing for overcharges and then doing it all over again the next month. We highly recommend that consumers not use ADT. They are a nightmare to work with.

I inquired on the phone about ADT. They had a deal going on for three cameras at $1,200, including installation and no contract. I agreed to that. Until the service technician came to my house. He did a classic bait and switch. He told me that they were having a sale of $1 per window to monitor your windows. I agreed. And he said I needed another camera here, and another camera there. I agreed.
Now when I signed my signature on his phone, I believed I was signing for the $1,200 three cameras installed, no monthly contract. That is not what the technician did, he locked me into a 5-year contract, and every one of those window monitors were $100 not a dollar like he told me and my husband. I would have never locked into a 5-year contract and I would never have paid $100 per window. Do not ever ever sign anything unless it is on paper. Do not trust ADT for anything. They are very very unscrupulous. I have a big sign on my lawn because there is a new development being built in my neighborhood to make sure these new homeowners don't fall for ADT ever.

I had ADT come to my house and quote replacing our obsolete wired system with theirs, I agreed to smoke detection and motion. Tech was friendly and professional while he was here. I noticed ceiling bases were not in line with the existing boxes he secured the new ones with, I later took them down and drilled holes in the bases so the would attach directly to the work boxes and now covers the open holes. So 2 weeks after installation low battery alarm sounds on 1 detector, I tried doing a chat with adt and spent lots of time trying to talk with rep, got disconnected after 3 tries so I replaced batteries. Now today I pushed test on other detector and those batterys are dead with out showing a red light or beep, probably been dead from day 1.
In summary, 1) installation could have been done with a little more pride in their work, 2) chat feature is very long wait just to be disconnected, pretty much useless, 3) wouldn't you think they would supply good brand name batteries? Today's work code by many companies seems to be get in slam together and get out right wrong or otherwise

This company is the worst!! We have had problems since day one. My husband and I have our own cell phones and we could never be in sync regarding the cameras, setting the alarms, etc. etc. Yesterday, our cameras went out. We called the customer service number and they scheduled an appointment for today. Unfortunately, they did specify that we would have to go out in the sub degree temps and fix it while talking to a customer service tech. We are approaching 80 yrs old and my husband had to go up a ladder and reset it himself. He was outside for more than 30 minutes. Hopefully he will not get frost bite.
We assumed someone from ADT would come out and fix our system. I just called ADT to schedule an appointment for someone from the company, who knows what they are doing, not an unqualified older adult who should not be outdoors or climbing a ladder to fix their system. I was told that we would have to pay for someone to come out and fix the security system and reset everything. We pay enough $$$ to have an security system that is simple, is easy to operate and works. We have not had this with ADT. Therefore, we will not be renewing our contract with ADT and will not recommend it to others.

When I ordered the equipment for my new home, they told me over the phone that they had sent me equipment and after I called a few days later and said I have not gotten the entire equipment and just got the yard signs, they first told me that the equipment has not been shipped out yet because I did not follow up on it and that they can send it out now because I am calling to follow up on it now. When I showed them the email from my initial order showing all the equipment that was suppose to be shipped including the tracking number, they immediately and very rudely backtracked and said , you picked it up 5 days after it was delivered hence some of the stuff might be missing.
They have no idea what is going on, they do not follow up on their own previous transcripts that they have had with customers causing confusion and you to repeat yourself. If this is their status in the absence of an emergency than what can one expect during an active crisis. Multiple companies offer what they do and for a cheaper price. Go with any of them.

ADT does not honor their promotional deals. ADT salespeople and employees will lie about customer's ability to cancel their contract under the 6-month money back guarantee advertisement. After ADT gets your business, and you try to cancel your contract. ADT will delay, deny, and use every trick in the book to keep you locked into a fraudulent and falsely advertised contract. Their entire staff and salespeople are nothing more than a bunch of liars and thieves. After speaking with Brittany in their corporate office, I got no results only more excuses, lies, and refusal to cancel my contract even though my system was defective and several technicians came out and could not repair it. Stay away from this company by any means necessary or you will regret it.

I’ve been a ADT customer for 20 years. December 2025 my control panel went blank. ADT Tech support arrange for service 3 times. The ADT tech arrived about 2pm and explained they needed to reschedule bc they needed 3 hours to install and configure a new control panel. That same excuse was given 3 times. I’ve been without a working security system for 2 months. They still claim they will credit me for the down 2 months but this credit was never applied. I cancelled my subscription and they will bill us for 1 additional month before we get cancelled. So we’re out 3 months of charges for not having a working security system for the past 3 months! How is this possible.

I loved it until I changed my WiFi network (that’s not regular wear and tear and is a 200+ dollar house call) if they can’t do a remote reset. Cameras are incredibly challenging to read set up codes, and God help ya if it’s mounted on your home’s exterior. We were able to get 1 camera back online. The other two, we tried several times to reset, reconnect, and kept getting the error code, “something went wrong”. Even the technician was mystified. So now, we’re back at the 200+ dollar home visit. It will just stay broken, or offline until it’s paid off, and we’ll let that speak for itself.

The service sucks and it does not monitor 24/7. It's a waste of money and the technician did not solve the problem even after calling numerous times about the service, it's literally like three hours of unrecorded times when I check the footage. Just horrible.

We will start with a residential service contract guard response. Service total equipment price, including installation was $350.96 then it was a down payment which they took out $350.96 which I didn’t get back for three weeks later and they lied, which was the installer and told me don’t worry they only hold it. They don’t take it out. It was a lie. I just got it back today after three weeks. That was just for the equipment and the installation which I thought it was a good price then the 24 seven intrusion monitoring it was 24.99.
The ADT representative, which will call just Kelly called her supervisor to get me a discount and she did and it approved it and here we are with 24.99 for monitoring a month and $350.96 for total equipment price including installation when the installer showed up and I was very clear when I talked to the agent on the phone 'cause I understand about alarms and I asked for 5 doors, 2 windows and 1 motion sensor and that’s what she quoted me. The price on when the installer showed up he started coming out with figures of let me see 52.79 for total monitoring a month. And another $700.00 on top of the 350.00 for equipment and installation.
Beware when you order an alarm security system from them they give you a price a quote and then they want a bargain with you because their price is now went up 50% if not more. I went from $350 to 1000 by the time the installer came and my monthly charges for monitoring from 2499 to 52.79. The installer even called Rudy his supervisor and his supervisor was still pushing the money as much as he could. He didn’t honor what a supervisor honored so I have a residential service contract doesn’t mean anything and the order detail which doesn’t mean anything. I could post all of this stuff but why and I have the card the business card from the installer, the tech engineer specialist and his supervisor. His supervisor didn’t wanna talk to me. I asked to talk to him and he didn’t want to so the bottom line is watch out for the scam.

Dre ** was the technician assigned to the work order for Brock Hughes Medical Center. We needed a technician on-site for the Virginia Board of Pharmacy inspection, to ensure we could answer all of the inspector's questions related to how the system functions. Dre was very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful during the inspection. He took the time to explain how the system works to the inspector and made sure we could confidently answer all of the inspector’s questions. My family had been loyal ADT customers for over 30 years. In July 2025 we turned off our landline. I called ADT to notify them and make sure it was ok and confirm we didn't need to do anything differently. We updated the contact info to our cell numbers. In November we had an error pop up on the control panel. When I called ADT to see what it meant they said the alarm is functioning however no one from ADT had monitored it since July when the land line was terminated. Imagine my surprise when the company I paid to help protect my family left us without any notification. ADT continued to collect the monthly payment, yet no services were provided. We requested a refund for those months and we were denied. ADT does not issue refunds.

I have been dealing with ADT over an $800 refund since December, and the experience has been extremely frustrating and dishonest. A manager specifically told me I would receive my refund by January 20, 2026. That date has now passed, and I’ve been informed that this was not true and that I won’t receive the refund until March. To make matters worse, the same manager who made this promise is now refusing to take my calls and gave me an incorrect phone number to reach him directly.
This is not a small amount of money, and being given false information and then ignored is completely unacceptable. I trusted ADT to handle this professionally, and instead I’ve been met with delays, broken promises, and zero accountability. If you’re considering ADT, be very cautious—especially when it comes to billing and refunds.

ADT is the most horrible company I have ever experienced - stay away from ADT - their practices are fraught with fraud and the third party vendors they use are equally, if not more corrupt. I have been on the phone for nearly two hours trying to cancel a contact that is to end in one month - to my dismay someone at ADT has extended the contact for another 36 months - in order to get out of one contact they want to initiate another, shorter contract. To repeat, do not use this company - especially their third party marketers.

I've been a customer with ADT since 12/2013. Canceled my services on 12/2/2025. Was charged for another 30 days, plus a $1.89 the next month. Called Customer Service, who told me they may not have informed me, but there is a 30-day additional charge upon cancellation. Never answered about the $1.89. I kept my contract from 2013, which mentions NOTHING about a 30-day cancellation fee. ADT refused to refund the money & told me I could pursue the charges through my bank. I informed Customer Service of the breach of a legal contract & that I would report this to the Better Business Bureau, but I've since been recommended to report this to the Federal Trade Commission, which I will do.

I have been having equipment problems for a few months and getting the run around from ADT. I had a video call concerning my equipment issues and they stated that they would send the equipment out so i can install it because they were going to charge me $90 for someone to come out. I have been with adt for at least 10 years and this by far is the worst customer care i have ever received from adt. I am paying for a service that i have no use for and no one is doing anything about it.

The salesperson who came by my home was very professional and explained everything to me. If my alarm goes off or if I can't shut it off, ADT calls me instantly. When someone walks around in my home, I like that service also because it lets me know. I would tell others about ADT's service.

We signed up for ADT security through a State Farm special program. The man who changed our system and had us sign the contract on his laptop failed to tell us it was for 5 yrs, not a 3 yr. Time period. Also, he did not put a new system panel on with new equipment, trying to use the old one I guess. This has cost us hours of headaches with system beeping low battery numerous times months and months, especially at night. We have had many different service people here changing everything, wiring, resetting and downloading updates. One guy said I don't know what is wrong with it".
After 7 months and our warranty out a serviceman came this month and says. It will cost you over $500.00 plus approximately 140.00 an hour to replace the main panel. The panel was never changed from our old system. This is not our fault as new panel was never installed. The repair guy must hate his job as he was very rude about the whole situation. We refused to pay the $500.00 plus labor to fix a problem they waited on figuring out all these months. This company has been a nightmare and would not recommend anyone to sign up with them.

Been an ADT customer for 20 years when they were first Brinks Security. They raised the price and did not notify me and the eft was taken out without permission. Furthermore, I tried to speak with an agent or specialist and got tossed around the AI is not helpful and I waited 45 min. to reach someone. They kept transferring me to other agents who were rude, obnoxious and drone like always speaking over you and never giving a solution. They this company has never notified me of any increases on billing nor offered any new products for 20 years. I am done.

I have been with ADT for over 3 years, and each time I reach out, I have never been satisfied with their customer service. ADT has the most horrible customer service. I.e. It took me 30 minutes just to set up an appointment for a technician to visit my house. Because their system wasn't updating and it was failing to update my app with entry and exit status; they had to update their own problem system and charged me because it took them time to update the system. I've attempted to have this trouble shoot in the past virtually and the problem was never resolved. Essentially, I have been paying for service that probably didn't even provide me with the security that I am supposed to get. Do better ADT!

Installation was supposed to be Jan 3. Technician didn't have needed materials. Was supposed to return after the weekend but never did. Met with numerous calls, long waits, uninformed and difficult to understand customer service personnel and Jeffrey ** don't listen or help resolve issues. Wanda was the only exception. Told ADT we wanted to cancel since it's 13 days later and they haven't provided service. Mr. ** said he'd call back over 3 hours ago. Now I'll have to have the charge reversed. In the few times the alarm has gone off, ADT was right on it and called me. The issue I have is the police department in the town I live in because they came to my house 12 hours later. So, the few times it's gone off, ADT has done what they're supposed to do. But the system has been irritating me lately. When I'm trying to shut my alarm off remotely, it kicks me into a area where it asks me for my email address and a password. I set it up several times and just have a four-digit passcode. Sometimes, it'll bypass that and ask me for my password and email and password, which is annoying, especially if I'm driving. That's my real main only complaint with ADT. I don't wanna switch my service and go through the hassle. I just wish that bug could be ironed out.
I have a basic alarm system with one camera. I tried to upgrade the camera. I didn't use it for five years and I was trying to set it up and use it again, and I wanna commend the ADT technician on the phone that tried to help me. His name was Anthony. He worked with me for about an hour. He tried to update the camera or reprogram it. He did get it up and running for me, but it's an old style camera and it's doing what I wanted to do. I was frustrated with it. I was gonna send it back. The other device that I had that he was really trying to help me on is a remote control plug that I have. In other words, if I have something plugged into this plug like a light in another room, I could click it remotely from my phone. He kind of did an update on it, but it conked out. It doesn't work anymore. So I'm gonna cancel that. I don't want it anymore.

Troubled signals would alert police and fire department to be sent to my home when there was no emergency! Several techs came to my home but none ever really fixed the troubles I had. This year we finally had a tech that seemed knowledgeable and thought all was fixed but the tech screwed up my account making it seems as it it was a brand new install and now getting invoices for $1,400! WHO DOES THAT!
Tried for weeks to address the issue with ADT, some reps can see that I've had the system for over 5 years, some can't. Thought I founds someone that finally understood what was happening and they promised to resolve and call back because they see where the problem was but to no avail, never received the help that was promised. I just called again and the rep would not put me through to a supervisor and instead was going to send me to collections department. FOR WHAT?? ADT screwed up my account, combined it with my relatives account. It's a humongous mess and no one will call me back, instead I'm getting billed $1,400 for a new system which is not new it NEVER worked properly.
This is outrageous and ADT should be ashamed that they screwed up this much. They don't take accountability for their mistake and have the nerve to bill me in error and expect me to PAY. I should expect this from a company that refused to postpone billing to residents in Florida after a huge hurricane where people didn't even have a home to live in. Extremely disgusting and they should be thoroughly investigated. They are probably ripping of thousands or millions of customers across the nation. I want this system out of my house IMMEDIATELY! Since they can't respond to my numerous calls, they can read my review and how disappointed I am in their horrible service and treatment of issues they caused. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE!

You can never cancel your service with ADT. They will give you a hard time. You are stuck on 5 year contract you never signed up for. You can not lower your payments. They will charge you for a loan amounting to more than $4,000.00 for the equipments. They make a fool out of customers. They say you can cancel anytime but it's BS. You will be tied up to a 5 year contract you never signed up for. DO NOT USE ADT. You can find better security systems that will not rob you!

Warning to Customers: Do NOT sign up for Easy Pay. Their customer service representative said, "you will automatically lower your payment by $5.00." I signed up and now I see they never kept their word. My payment was increased by $5.00. Misrepresentation at 100%.

ADT has always picked up alarms for us and they are good with security on the false alarms, making sure that we know our keywords to turn off the alarm. We've had a decent service with them. We only had an instance when the system wasn't signaling back to the company that it was armed when we had it armed. They troubleshot it and put in a dedicated cellular line to make sure that it would never be disconnected again. It's worked fine ever since then.

We were the only house that was occupied at the time and people were stealing things out of the yards. A salesman came into the neighborhood as the houses were being built and he sold me a decent package. The installer came out, and we upgraded the package a little bit more. We have the doorbell cam, motion sensors, glass breaker, and more. It's got everything we possibly want. We love the package. One time, though, the system was beeping and we couldn't figure out why. We found out the internet had shut down.
We have ADT for six months now and it has been a good experience. We've recommended it to our neighbors and stuff, and our neighbor had a basic package put in.

I took out the high-level plan for ADT. It took care of everything, getting us new batteries, coming in, and checking any kind of new information they had. A few years back, they updated our system to have a cell phone so that even if somebody cut the wires or telephone lines, it would still work.
We had a house phone number and cell numbers. But they wanted us to keep a landline so that if they ever had to get through to us, that would never go down. So, we took care of that. They actually came in and replaced the whole box.
After nine years, they had new services put in, and they upgraded the whole system for us. It's been a pleasure knowing that they're watching over us.
The features have surpassed our expectations. I could actually take care of my alarm away from home. There's 3 different levels if you're in the house, that you could have security watching over you. It's an instant one that's automatic.
We had a lot of glass around the lanai and different parts of the house. They did a simulation of glass breaking and where to put the sensors in the house in order to pick that up. So, it's really double-fold. It's got sensors with the glass-breaking alarms. And if you have something wrong with one of the sensors on the window, they come and take care of it right away. There's no delay in having to get it done, usually, within a day.
We thought that this was a service that I could have put in a separate code that would shut off the alarm, but also still notify ADT and the police. But that hasn't happened. I'm still thinking I can get it done, but I just got to find somebody that understands what I'm trying to do. 'Cause one time, they said, "Well, if you wanna shut off your alarm, you're shutting off your alarm." I said, "No, it's not that." I just wanna make sure I tell the person that the alarm is off now, but in the meantime, there's cops still on the way, or ADTs calling the police department.
They're very conscious of the fact that you want different things, and once in a while, they send an email and will ask. You have to pay for it if it's an upgrade. But they're very cooperative with all the stuff that they want to do. If somebody does cut the telephone lines before they would try to come in, it automatically still picks up on the battery and the cell phone that they have hooked up in the house in an undisclosed location.

I like ADT's system. All of my doors and windows are armed, so if I have it set and there's any issue, it warns me. It's good because I live alone. My husband passed and I'm elderly. My son has ADT too, but he had it before I did. We were with Protection 1 and we've had the system for 28 years when they merged with ADT. The company is responsive. When I had an issue with the battery, they sent someone out to change it for me.

I have a neighbor that had ADT, and I was talking to him about it. I decided to give it a try to protect our house. The installation guy was excellent and did a great job. The package that I signed up for got sensors for the three doors and a doorbell for the front door.
Everything has been good, and I haven't had any emergencies. I always turn the system on and off with my phone, and it works perfect. I turn the alarm on at night, and when I forget to turn it off and I open the door, it goes off. So, it does what it is supposed to do. The only problem is the backslider falls off, so I tape it and put it back on.
If anybody asks me about ADT, I would tell them if they want protection of their house, it's worth doing. The price has stayed the same, and I'm happy with that.

We bought a house at the end of July and a representative from ADT came out and gave me their pitch on the services as well as a quick price rundown. The guy was cordial and wasn't pushy at all. The installation team was clear with the offer and the cost, and what they were gonna do. They were good with communication about where they were at with their installation process and how long it would take. They were extensive with how to operate the system after they were done. They were clean and professional. The guy who came out had a guy who was training with him and they seemed to be respectful. Everything was fairly smooth and right now, everything is working fine. I've recommended ADT to my stepbrother and a coworker who recently bought houses.

I would recommend ADT. I've been with them for 20 years. I heard of them from friend. I liked their reputation from what I've heard. We have a full alarm system with fire alarms and motion detectors. We had several interactions with ADT's reps, and they have always been great, even for repairs.

I started with Protection 1 back in 1996 and have since upgraded my system multiple times. I changed out some doors and put at least three of the sensors on them. They were hotwired before and now they're just remote. ADT mailed me my remotes and I put them on myself. The representatives were helpful and walked me through how to get them set up. ADT gave me a discount a while back and I'm hoping it's gonna continue on because I can't afford $60 a month for service.

The technician that came helped me get set up so I could use my phone, so I can actually set the alarm after I've gone out if I need to set the alarm for either staying away or being away. I've had no issues with that so far, which is a good thing. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with ADT so far. I had an issue when I first called ADT. The girl may have mentioned it but I didn't catch it that I only have three days if I wanted to try and opt out of it. I ended up having to call back and they told me I was hooked in now for a longer contract. But so far, I haven't had any more issues. Customer service has been pretty good. If I had a question, they would answer it and they’ve been trying to work with me on some issues I've had. I've been trying to get my bill reduced a little bit because I lost about $2,000 in income.

ADT has been a lifesaver. I went to church and left six eggs on the stove cooking. And the alarm went off. It saved my home. I’ve had the system for a long time and I'm glad I've got it. I'm very satisfied with it.

I got ADT for over 10 years and so far, my experience with them has been okay. One time, they needed to put in a new battery, so they came and put that in. The service was fine and everything went well. At another time, when the battery was low in it, the system went off, then the police came by and checked. But everything was fine and ADT rectified that situation. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service.

Do not choose ADT!! We have cameras that only pick up some events, and pretty much NOTHING in the dark (not even my child walking right in front of it every morning) the alarm on the door fell off within a month, the other alarm on a different door has a “supervision” code and when I call, they want me to remove and replace with their kit or pay someone to come out. Their employee didn’t do it right, or their equipment is malfunctioning (both happen and no big deal), but for ME to have to pay someone to fix it…..I pay enough money for a system I can’t alarm because of the code. So the only other solution is to delete the back door from the system. And yes, my cameras are the “new, upgraded, best on the market” Google Nest cameras. Our ring cameras are WAY better!!!

We first got ADT 16 years ago. When we moved here a few months ago, we got an all-new, up-to-date system and I can tell it's awesome, but it takes a little getting used to for an older guy. We got cameras and we use our telephone app to manage the system, which definitely makes things a lot better. The system was a little pricey though. Besides that, I've had good interactions with the ADT reps. We had a little issue with one of our systems going offline, and they sent a tech out who was really good. In fact, he gave me his cellphone number and said, "If it happens again, just text me. And you don't even have to call. I'll just come take care of it." Overall, we're pleased with ADT. We've already recommended and got someone's mom set up with ADT, and she likes it.

I'm in North Carolina. I moved here sometime last fall and an ADT system came with the house. My family and I all agreed to having ADT and they were all here when the system was installed. One day the installers were in, then the job was done, and they were out. Everything went great. I have a monitor in the hall, a few smoke and fire detectors throughout the house, a camera at the front door as well as front, back and garage door alarms. ADT's system is very efficient and responsive. If a door is left open, it lets me know. I'm still under my one year of everything and I'm doing good. I've been satisfied from the moment they were here.

I was gonna get a security thing. I called a few companies before I chose ADT. ADT has been out there for a long time. I went with them and it worked out okay. I told them what I needed and they listened and told me what I needed to hear. When I got mine installed, I got a deal they had going on. Recently, they said my system needed to be updated and I was surprised when they said that a new system would be $1,697. I said I wouldn't do that. I like security systems, but that's a bit much for a system. But I've been satisfied with them and I would recommend them.

I've been with ADT since 2001. I trust them and the system has been super great. They've always been good when I've had to interact with them. If they've had to come to the house, quite a few years after I got it, when I needed a new keyboard for the system, they came out and put that in for me. They do great service work. I would recommend them to everybody.

When we moved from Waterbury to Cheshire in 1997, they messed up big time. Because they were supposed to come before the walls were being put in. They said, "No problem." But they never showed up. Then they complained that the walls were there. I said, “What do you want me to do? You didn't show up." But that was a long time ago. Now, when the alarm system broke, they came right away. ADT has been very responsive and the system’s very easy to use.

Our friend had nothing but great things to say about ADT so we got it when we moved into our new house, and that was almost 20 years ago. We love ADT. If someone needs security for their home, I would go to ADT. They have the latest in security alarms, and they're very professional, courteous and helpful. They always get back with us right away. Anytime anything goes wrong, or anything needs to be replaced or fixed, they're there on the spot taking care of everything. They go above and beyond to make sure that all my needs and concerns are taken care of. Their customer service is awesome and the system is top-notch as well. We feel safe at home, and I don't have to worry about anything.

We've been in this house for a long time and had people take things from us, and I don't like that. I have ADT for maybe 10 years now, and it does a good work. I have cameras and two different digital keypads, one of which has the ability to display the view from one of the cameras. I wish both keypads could do that.
I also always set the smoke alarm off while cooking, and the ADT ladies would always call me and say, "How about I suspend it for an hour until the smoke clears?" They can't be any nicer.
As for the techinicians, I always hope that Jose is going to be the one who comes out because he's phenomenal. He helped me understand how to make the system work properly and walked me through technical stuff. He was very trustworthy, and I absolutely love him.
Overall, ADT is amazing. The system is wonderful, and I have recommended it to others.

We purchased a house in Seattle that ADT had covered, so we continued the coverage there. When we moved back to Illinois, we kept their service. We had some problem with a sensor in the basement that would go through batteries at a huge clip, and eventually, ADT agreed to replace it. I was able to do the exchange myself because it's not difficult. Also, the reps were easy to find, spoke knowledgeably, and I got my answer.
I've been pleased with almost everything, except the price is $90 a month. That ends up being $1,000 a year. But I doubt if I'll get rid of this. They have to monitor things and contact me if things come, so I'm gonna keep it. At my age and the infrequency in which I use some things, it takes me a while to get back on track with using the app. But it's a good system.

I realized that the older system was antiquated. So, I called ADT, told their rep that I wanted to upgrade my system, and a gentleman came out. He explained everything to me and I told him what I wanted. The price wasn't crazy but the salesman was able to do something to get the price down. I got a military discount and something else that I didn't even know was available. I got all my cameras updated and the modern cameras are really nice. I enjoy the interaction that you can control everything from your phone and watch the cameras. When we went out of town, I wondered if I set the alarm. I have two buildings and I was able to see that one building wasn't set, so I was able to set the alarm when I was coming all the way back home. It's really a good system and my wife loves it too.
ADT provides good and professional service. If I call in with an issue, they’ve never not been able to solve the problem. When there are power outages, which they have no control over, they get the system back up as quick as possible when the battery runs out. We referred our neighbors to ADT and they got the system, too. Unfortunately, their house got broken into before they decided to get it. I'm also getting ready to transfer our church's system over to ADT because I'm the chair of the trustee board and I'm not satisfied with the system we currently have.

ADT is the service to go with. I've been with them since about '87 and they've changed hands a million times. Years ago, we had private people who installed all of the hardware. They were using a monitoring service called Protection One, then Protect One started buying up all these little guys. Then they became ADT and now it's Everon. Very rarely does my alarm go off, but when it does go off, they call. They ask me for a password and if everything's all right.
We have had some new hardware put in and everything is good. They also installed a new panel for free. If you extend your contract with them for monitoring, they'll come in and upgrade. They did that for us and I have no complaints. We got some new windows put in. Then, everything is wireless today, so they put the wireless alarm thing into the windows. But my wife didn't like the way it looked as it was really fat. I called them and they were very nice about it. They said they have a slimmer version but we had to pay for it. We did, then they came in and put it in. It's very low keyed and slim. It looks great and I can't even tell it's there.
Aside from that, I have carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide monitoring. I have sensors for all my windows and doors. I have a glass detector, plus I water bugs to detect water in the basement. I have my own cameras, which I installed myself. All in all, ADT is a good service. They're huge and they're growing, but their customer service seems to be very up to par. We're happy with them and they're not expensive. For what I get, the price is reasonable. My Mom also had ADT. She's 98 and we moved her into a home. So, we closed with ADT and everything went perfectly. I took care of that account since I was monitoring it for her. They told me exactly the day they were going to turn the system off, and they did. Then they gave me a number to give to the new people and I emailed them the information. ADT's reps were very nice and they never charged us again.

I started working with ADT when I moved to this house. It started with a straight just alarm system, and last year, I went to a camera system. The people were good to deal with, knowledgeable, and I had no issues with any of them. Everything’s been fine with ADT’s system.

I got ADT in 1997. They came and put it in my home, and when I was moving back to Montana, I called them to shut it down and they told me that if I would put it in my home here, it would be done at no charge. If I didn't wanna use it, I could turn it off or not use it. If I did wanna use it, I'd have it. Down the line if I decided I wanted it, they said I would have to start over and buy it again. Everything works great. Mine does not run through the electricity because I only have a crawl space under my house. They couldn't hardline it. I have a battery backup that they've had to replace a couple of times now and that runs on electricity to keep that charged up.

We've been with ADT for 25 years now and we've had excellent service and success, so we stayed with it when we had to replace our panel. They've always been responsive, and we always had whatever concerns we had addressed. We're very pleased with what we have, and it's very easy to use. It's a good system and it's gotten better over the years. It’s expensive but it’s worth the money we paid.

Every interaction I've had with ADT has been very satisfying. They are prompt with their response to alarms and have been very helpful when I've had questions. I've been with them for at least 20 years and our experience with them has been good. One time, we had an issue with one of the door sensors and we had them respond. We were not at home at the time and a neighbor was able to let the police in to see if anything was in a disarray. Also, we can barely get in the door to turn the alarm off before I get a call from them when my husband screws up and pushes the panic alarm on the key fob.
We upgraded to ADT's satellite service and we haven't had any problem with it. The guy that came and installed the equipment for it was super. He was helpful and explained how it works. And we periodically can't remember what we're supposed to do, so we call and ask them about it. Other than that, ADT's price is a little high considering that people can now do the home services for themselves with the doorbell monitoring and all the other monitoring they can do through the internet and their cellphones. But we've been happy with them, and we would recommend them to other people.

I'm satisfied with what I got with ADT. But I'm not satisfied when it glitches. Occasionally, the keypad malfunctions when I enter the code, which has even triggered an unnecessary police visit. ADT did a visual thing with me with my phone on it, and even sent a tech out, which they didn't tell me it was gonna cost me 60 bucks, but he looked it over and he said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. If it does it again, I'm just gonna rip it off the wall and be done with it.

The main complaint has to do with customer service, setting expectations, and then not following through to see them done. Also, they had multiple opportunities to be solution oriented, and ultimately they recommended that I cancel my service and return the equipment. They were willing to lose a customer rather than the solution oriented.

Called ADT for floodlights cameras outside my home (3) exactly. Due to n all the shooting in my neighborhood. I was told a price of $60 a month. Equipments fee was waived. So going off of that I agree to the installment. When the guy comes out he told me he couldn’t install the floodlights cameras due to Him not being a electrician. Then the floodlights cameras monthly amount went from $60 to $100 when I was told $60. Smh. Then he wanted to install 4 cameras. 1 outside 3 inside when I didn’t ask for them. I have Ring and had them for 6 years! Great service with ring. So he talked to his boss. He told him give her 4 extra cameras for $104 a month. But if I get only 3 floodlights cameras it be the same price as if ($100) $4 dollars lesser! But if I get all 7 it be $104! The inside cameras only detect motion only. I don’t like them.

I have been an ADT customer for 13 years, but since switching to their new equipment, my experience has been a nightmare. The cameras constantly go offline, and the smoke detectors are faulty. Over the past year, I have called multiple times for troubleshooting, with no real solution. As a senior citizen, it is completely unreasonable for ADT to expect me to climb ladders to reset cameras and equipment. When I called support, I was told they couldn’t fully help because the representative was in Kansas and claimed Texas has different laws. That is not my problem as a customer.
What’s even more frustrating is that ADT will charge me if they send a technician to fix equipment that is clearly faulty and was provided by them. After 13 years of loyalty, it’s obvious they no longer care about long-time customers, especially seniors. I deeply regret upgrading my old system, which worked far better than this new one. I would not recommend ADT based on my recent experience.

Received the ADT + system and called ADT to set it up. Was on hold for over 20 minutes waiting for assistance, and that was after going through their virtual AI that couldn’t even find my account and an actual representative that had to transfer me to the chronic hold specialists of the ADT + division. The app refused to work. Error after error trying to load the basic info that the rep had to force bypass to even get to the console setup, and it just got worse from there. None of the accessories would pair. We tried multiple pieces. Tried soft reset. Hard reset. Pull out the battery. Wait 30 seconds. Pull out the battery then hold the reset button then put the battery back in while holding the reset button for another 20 seconds for a flashing blue light. Still nothing. I was promised a call back for virtual setup the following day at 11. NO CALL.
AN HOUR LATER ON THE PHONE listening to their MK Ultra theme music on repeat I finally had enough. I’ve been with ADT for over 12 years and they have lost a loyal customer over this one. If they try to charge me for cancelling my contract I’ll be contacting the FCC over their lack of functioning equipment and ZERO timely customer support for said faulty product.

After having service with ADT for 19 years when I experienced a problem with my system, ADT did very little to resolve my issue. Because my system was old and needed an upgrade to the tune of $2,000. The technician cut my system off. I have continued to be billed and no resolution has been reached. So much for 19 years of being a customer!

My parents have had ADT for so long and I didn’t think of trying to look anywhere else. It was very positive and informative speaking with the sales rep. It was the same individual who installed the system. The setup includes cameras at the front and back, along with sensors for the doors. I like how I am able to arm and disarm the system from my phone anywhere. If I walk out the house and forget to arm it, I could just go ahead and arm it in the garage or down the street. Overall, my experience using ADT has been easy and it’s user-friendly.

ADT is a cult like business! Try and cancel your account even if you’re moving and they will talk you into all kinds of traps!!! Horrible, not like we don’t have enough problems in this what we call a free country! I hate them and will never use them again

Scam my brother into a contract. He only speaks Spanish and just bought his first home. He sign thinking it was part of free doorbell deal. When we told what he just did, he call them two times and they denied cancelation unless 1725$ fee because of 1 day. I feel so bad for him. 3000 dollars mortgage and now a 3 year unwanted burden on his shoulders. Scammer and devils is what they are.

We had Brinks when we lived in our prior home and when we moved to this home 29 years ago, we continued with them. Then, ADT bought them out and we became a customer of ADT through default. I liked the price that we had. There was a few times where my credit card was not billed properly and I had to call three times in a row. And when that happened, I kept being apologized to, then it was wrong again. Finally, a representative told me that because of all these mistakes, they would permanently keep me at 29.99 and that my price would never go up. So, for years we were at 29.99 and you can't beat that.
Then, when we decided to get rid of our landline, I had to upgrade our system. We had to change out the keypad because the one we had was not compatible with a cellphone. The guy who came to install it was very friendly and efficient. They also had to put in new magnets to be compatible to the new system, but we didn't add any cameras. And at that point in time, I was not happy because the representative told me something and when I double-checked it with somebody else, the amount that I was billed was not what I was promised. They said there was nothing they could do about that but I could wait a whole year, then on the second year, I would go back to 29.99 plus tax, which is where we are right now. So, we will continue to stay with ADT as long as the price continues to be in a positive favor for us.

After looking at other systems, I decided to go with ADT because it was within my job and I’d seen others using it. I’m a retired cop and I’ve always admired ADT and their services. Over the 15 years I've been with them, dealing with the sales reps have been very well. Installation was great, and the techs and I went through everything. When the battery was going down, they came over and replaced it.
The features of the system are above my expectations. We have two different panels, and I would forget to disarm the one panel leading out to a certain area, and ADT was right on the ball. I was doing some minor work around the house and set the alarm off, and they immediately called. Although I haven't upgraded my system recently, I'm interested in their potential wireless features.

ADT is a simple system. It works for what I need it to work for, which is why I’ve had it for over 20 years. But the service is not as good as it used to be. At one time, ADT would replace the battery when it’s dead but now, I have to pay for them. But the system still works good. My wife and I are old people and it's an easy system for us to use. And whenever we needed assistance, ADT acted right away.

When there's been a problem, ADT sends somebody out almost immediately. They've always kept us up to date. I've been perfectly happy with what ADT installed. There was a time that they had come in and changed the box back in our bedroom closet to upgrade it, and there was no charge for it. They showed me everything they did and what changed. They were fast and efficient. That was all they've ever done and that's all I've ever asked them to. I know there's more that we could add, but I just don't see the need in it because what I've got has worked just fine. I enjoyed not having to worry about it all. Also, we've been here for 15 years and the price hasn't changed that much.

We've been in the house for about six months when a salesman reached out to us. He came over and we had a chat. ADT is quite well-known in the home security industry, and I have several colleagues who employ ADT's equipment in their homes. The price is affordable at $65 a month and the equipment and installation were at no extra charge.
The sales representative was fantastic. He made himself available based on our schedule. He had to come back a couple of times because I couldn't get out of work. But he was very patient, friendly and professional. He walked us through all the options. The installer did exactly what we asked him to do. He asked where we wanted to put our control panel and offered several other options to pair up with the system that we have right now. He got the job done right and quickly.
We got one camera for the front of the house and one in the rear. They have motion sensors that start recording if they sense motion in a certain field of vision. And we have sensors on all the exterior doors and windows. The experience with ADT has been quite pleasant. Every time I've called, the customer service team has been fantastic. They have sort of exceeded all of my expectations when it comes to customer service.

The functionality and the performance of the ADT’s system have been very good. My favorite is the doorbell camera. It’s also very easy to get a hold of them. One time, I needed them to come and change a battery. I had a number to reach them and they came up and changed the batteries for me.

ADT has been very good in answering calls very quickly. It's not difficult getting a hold of them, maybe not more than twice and I get a response. My favorite feature would be that little ding-dong sound that it makes after I'm armed up. And the next to that would be when someone opens that door, I know that that door has been opened, whether the wind blew it open or a human opened it. Since having ADT, I can go to bed and sleep. I don't worry about anything. I don't have to rely on the baseball bat because I know ADT is there.

I scheduled for ADT to come and do an update for me. They will add another feature so I'll be able to set the alarm and disarm it through the app. Overall, it's been a great experience. I highly recommend them.

We've had a good experience with ADT. I have fire detection and the sensors on the doors and windows. When I contact them, they're usually helpful and very nice. Overall, it's been a positive experience.

My experience has been horrible. Please avoid this company if at all possible. Here are my reasons: 1) They wanted to charge me almost $1000 for the equipment. When I said I wouldn't pay that much, they waived the fee. Sounds like a good thing, but felt more like a scam to see it. I was dumb enough to pay them. 2) They would not honor the monthly charge they provided in writing, even when I read the contract back to them. 3) The system did not work; alarms going off in the middle of the night for the first 2 days after installation. 4) Customer service is not good. Long waits with lots of transferring, so I could explain a problem all over again. 5) Because of the above problems, I cancelled after 2 days and within the 72-hour cancellation window. They offered to lower the cost for 6 months if I stayed, but the experience was so bad, I declined.
Was told someone would call to pick up the equipment and that my first month fee would be refunded, I called back 1-2 weeks later to check on the status of my refund and was told to be patient. Now, 6 months later, they are still charging my credit card. When I called to complain, I was told I hadn't followed the prescribed cancellation protocol, despite confirming my cancellation with 3 different individuals. When I asked if they thought it was right to charge a customer who never used the service and had called multiple times regarding cancellation, I was told "You signed the contract." So, BUYER BEWARE, this is not an ethical company. Take your business elsewhere. I gave them one star because a negative number is not an option.

ADT was already installed when I bought the house. I just went ahead and kept it going. But once I moved from there, I never considered ADT until eight years ago when I moved here. The system functions as I had expected. If someone opens a window or a door, since I live by myself, I'll know it because it chimes very loudly and says, "Garage door" or whatever. That was a function that I wanted and needed and feel very comfortable with. I also like the idea of being able to set it and know that if someone comes onto the property, into my house and I'm not there, I know the alarm will go off. Thieves now can get in and get out within five minutes and take what they want. At least, I know.
The gentleman who came to the house was almost like a used car salesman. But since I had already, and I didn't tell him that I had dealings with ADT in the past, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I let him give his spiel and I said, "Okay. So, it costs how much?" I had to nail him down for more details. And I said, “I'm going to do it.” I did not know, however, until my sister got it several years later that there's a difference between 1-800-ADT and smaller franchises. An ADT guy came by and knocked on the door because my sister moved there new. The system she got is different than mine. We found out that somehow my ADT wasn't her ADT, but they were both ADT. It sounds crazy to me still, which is why when I called once, I got somebody in Florida.
When I have a concern, I always have to find a number. The couple of times that I have, I get one number from wherever. I look for an old bill. I don't get it in paper anymore. So, I look online for any communication and go from there. Usually, the first phone call isn't the place so I get transferred or I'm given another number. But once I get someone, that's great.
When I had my sensor moved, I didn't know I needed it moved, but I added more window sensors because I got more money to do that. The guy who came out to put in the sensors on the window had to go into the master bedroom suite. In the master bedroom bathroom part has a huge window that I wanted another sensor one. He walked around, looked, and said, "What is that other sensor supposed to be protecting?" It was the motion sensor thing. I said, "The guy who installed it said that if somebody comes through that bedroom window diagonally, it's gonna pick up any movement as they come out." He said, "Yes. It’s gonna pick up the movement, but it's not gonna do it until the person's in your foyer part. It should have been pointed this way. Now, you got the whole coverage of somebody coming out of that room. I'm not gonna charge you for that part. Because our man did it, but it needs to be changed." So, he did. That was very good.

I like our ADT system. I've been with them since 2023 after they bought out the service I used to have, Ackerman. A while back, my Ring doorbell was not working properly, so they came out to try to work on it. They said they needed to replace it and they charged me for a whole new system, which pissed me off. And I didn't have a choice because my credit card was on file. I tried to dispute it and they said something about warranty. Other than that, I have not had a problem with them.

I got ADT in my first house in Quincy, Mass back in 1999. When I moved to Pennsylvania, I had the service transferred. ADT works and it's pretty easy to use. Everything is fine. I burned the toast once, and it went off, and they called. So, it works.

I had ADT when I first moved here in 1997. I went to another company because it was more reasonable. Now I'm back with ADT. They’ve been treating me great. When I call them, they’re always on time. They were on the spot when my server was messed up. They would call me and scare the daylights out of me at 3 o'clock in the morning. When something is wrong and we get on the phone, someone will tell me what I'm supposed to do. Go for it.

I have the security cameras, door and window sensors, and other detectors included in my system. One time, when I wasn't at home, the alarm went off and I received an alert and a phone call. It stopped the burglary.
It has been a few years now since I got the system, and I can say ADT is a very good company and gives quality service. I'd recommend it.

We've had good service since we've been with ADT and we've had them for 15 years. They're reliable, and most importantly, they keep our home safe. We haven't had any emergencies but in case we do, I know ADT will be there and respond in time. So, we appreciate the service and keeping the payment down at a comfortable rate that we can afford. We had to have a technician the last time we upgraded our system and I had good interaction with him. Some people in my neighborhood also have ADT. I didn't recommend them but the sign in the yard means a lot. When people see it in your yard, and they're thinking about getting a security protection, that helps.

I had ADT before but I stopped it for years, and then I started back up with it because it is a good protection. I could turn it on and off using the phone. It quit working for a while because we lost power a couple of times in a row and it messed up the system because I use Wi-Fi. But I talked to ADT and they got me right through it and that was it. Unplug it, plug it back in, and it all reset.

I've had this house since July and I've had ADT for as long as I've been here. I also had them in Lake County when I lived there for six years. Their customer service has been very good. Eric is the one that put in the system and he's been right on top of things. He's been very helpful and every time I've called, he's been very accommodating. Recently, I called because I was having some issues. But his phone was full and I couldn't leave a message. I haven't tried now that everybody's back to work after the holidays, but other than that, I've been very happy with the customer service of ADT.

ADT is a good company. They were thorough during the installation procedure and very clean when I had people do some movement of equipment from one side of the house to another. They're very knowledgeable. The only complaint is once the sales guy sells you something, it's hard to get ahold of them for any add-ons or for any questions regarding anything. But that's their job. They're not there to answer any questions, perhaps an add-on that we might be interested in. Once they do the initial sale, that's it. They got to go on to the next customer. Overall, it has been a good experience, and even on the phone support for cameras.

My experience with ADT’s reps was very positive. If I had questions, they explained everything to me and I understood. Whenever I called if I needed help with the system, they were more than willing to help and talked me through something. I had a couple of installations. I had one and then the house was renovated. They kind of messed up everything. I had to get a second one. But I was still able to use some of the equipment, but I didn't have all of the equipment. But the people who came to the house were very nice. They took their time and they did it. I'm satisfied with it. I have the doorbell camera and I have a motion detector in the basement. It was an easy process from initially calling and speaking to someone about pricing and everything that I needed for installation. My experience with ADT went very smoothly.

With the way things are anymore, you need some type of security just to be on the safe side. We moved our ADT system here from our other address. We stuck with the basic. We have some other in the house that picks up when someone's outside. We like that we can lock the house up with no one getting in. ADT has always been good and knowledgeable in what they do. They will let us know if anything is going wrong.

There was an attempt to burglarize my house, and after that, based on name recognition, I looked up ADT online. All my communications have been smooth using the app. It’s responsive and user-friendly. My experience with ADT has been very good so far as well as the system’s performance. Our ADT system is reliable and the things that we want it to do, it does well. I have ADT for 25 years now and things have been pretty smooth. But I'm not sure if we have the best options in terms of if we're out of town and there's an alert. Other than that, I worked with their operations people when we had too much smoke in the kitchen and their response was very prompt.

A lot of people have ADT. You see their signs everywhere. When we first set up the system, the one in the kitchen kept going off because it was too close. ADT was good about coming out and fine tuning it. They get back within 5 to 10 minutes whenever I've had an issue and I call their line. We've got fire and carbon monoxide. We also set up security. The alarm is loud. It's a good thing. I'm glad that I got it because just in case there's a real nut that wants to come into the house and talk to my wife. Also, I like it when it lets me know that batteries are getting low. So, the chirping doesn't start. I can deal with it. The other thing is I always sleep with the phone by the bed. I can always quickly check and make sure, "Did I really lock the downstairs door to the pool? I don't remember." That was four cocktails ago.

The ADT system is good. It's a peace of mind when we step out of home, when we leave our dog in the house, or we go out on a vacation. We can also check on our phone if somebody has come to the door or any activities in and around. The installation was also quick and easy. They were all hands-on, explained us how to set up a new device on phone.

I've been with ADT since back in the ‘90s. They don't keep records that far back but they've been very good. I have no complaints and I would tell my neighbors that my experience with them has been very positive. Their price is a little high, but that goes with the territory.

It was also a recommendation from our insurance company and it seemed it was the best value at the time. It was a trusted name as well. We have been long time customers of ADT however they do not value loyalty. We recently upgraded our alarm system. The technician took the entire day to update the system but failed to change sensors that were almost 30 years old. Nor would they change the batteries on the old systems. I was told that I would have to do that or pay a fee technician fee plus a fee for each sensor. None of this was communicated to me prior to me agreeing to the upgrade.
Less than a month later, one of the new sensors malfunctioned. I called customer service and was told that they were sending a technician out. When the technician arrived, he advised of a $100 fee for him coming out and told me that I would have to pay for each sensor that he replaced the batteries (I bought the batteries before hand as instructed). Today, I called them because one of the new sensors fell off and the cover came off. This time, I was told that I had to pay $59 for a technician to come out. I would not advise ANYONE to engage in services with ADT and subject themselves to the bait and switch technique that they are using. I pay a monthly fee and I was told that it was for monitoring not service. I'm so glad that we cancelled the security camera service and upgraded with another company for a more competitive price for a better product.

My ADT package was pretty discounted and my monthly payment is less than $100 a month. I first heard about them through a realty connection and I've been with them for three years now. The service has been satisfactory and I would recommend the system. My service package has met all of my needs and things that I felt would provide me with a safe environment. Sometimes there are power outages and when that happens, their technicians will come out and do what needs to be done. I've also had to contact customer service a few times, and every time that I have, I've pretty much gotten a good response.

When I first got the ADT system, it was just for a front door and back door, but I had them add another camera to it. I was kind of misinformed from the customer service to what actually was charged when I upgraded the system, but I wasn't upset. I was just thankful for them to install it because I knew I didn't have the tools to do it.
I use the online tools all the time, and they're up to date. The only trouble that I've ever had was when my Wi-Fi system was down a little bit, and it caused trouble for the system to be set for power going out, and that can't be helped always. But other than that, I've not had any issues with the system at all. I recommend ADT to everybody who asks about a security system. But it would be nice if it could be a little bit cheaper.

At the time, it was due to our budget, plus the sophistication of their system that we chose them over others. We upgraded a few years ago and, overall, the service works very well.

ADT specializes in security more than Comcast or any of those other places. Also, I look back and I remember they were the first players in the security realm. I've also used them before, so when I needed security service, I decided to go back to them. I spoke to the lady on the phone when I called and I spoke to the guy that installed the system. He was training another gentleman that day, so I spoke with him as well. I don't like pushy type sales and people upselling me. And with ADT's guy, even though he was trying to maximize the sale, he wasn't pushy.
When I told him that I wanted extra contacts on the windows and that I'd be willing to do a longer contract if I could get something like that, he was able to make a call about it. So, I ended up with a five-year contract and I was able to get the extra contacts for the same price. So, that was pretty good. Other than that, the installation came on time and afterwards, they explained the features of the system and showed us how to use it. I really like the features of our service package and they meet my expectations well.

Our original system in the house was from ADT and we’ve had them for 14 years. Our package includes motion sensors, glass break detectors, and the convenience of controlling the system via phone or key fob. We also have the carbon monoxide detectors in place. We had a break-in while we were away and the system promptly alerted us and the police called. ADT's customer service is great. The reps answer any questions you have and walk you through all the features. They have many options if you're looking for something specific. I always enjoy them. I highly recommend ADT. I am very satisfied. ADT has good value for the money and is very easy to use.

I would recommend ADT. The reps came out and did everything in a day. The system has been good to go ever since. Any time an alarm goes off, ADT instantly responds. If my alarm went off, they would message me before they send all kinds of crazy fire trucks. Also, they've always been very helpful any time I've had to contact them.

ADT has worked well, and I have liked it, and how I have used it. It has been a good program for me. I really like that I can hear when a door opens or a window opens. There have been several times that my alarm has gone off because I've forgotten I had set it, and it notified me that there was an alarm because I had not shut the door tightly, or my son had come in and forgotten to check the alarm. It was very, very easy to contact a rep. ADT is very reliable and economical.

ADT is always accessible, and they do what we need to have done. We've never had any trouble at all. Periodically, something happens where they need to call. Usually, it's us calling them and telling them we're gonna be out of town, and we want them to contact us if anything happens. Every time we call them, we get what we want. The system works. Everything has been installed at both of our locations.

I'm 78 years old and it takes a while for me to change. ADT has been a part of my life for a long time since I've had them for over 20 years. I see other places that are cheaper, but ADT is simpler for me at this point in my life rather than installing something myself digitally. Any time there's an issue, ADT is taking care of it. I just call them or they call me. The last thing I had done with them was some battery replacements. I don't function well because I had a knee replacement, so they came in and did some battery replacements for me. They also worked on the windows I couldn't reach. But for the price, they could be better. They should have some kind of senior discount.

The ADT system is wonderful. I've been with ADT for 20 years now, and I always get their latest and greatest. I like this Blue and I like my Nest cam. I also got payment arrangements set up for stuff coming up. The installer was exceptional as well. But I’ve experienced some strange occurrences. My key fob went missing and then reappeared with a dead battery. I also had my space heaters turned on by themselves and windows being tampered with. I've had to deal with my system switching from broadband to cellular, which disrupts my cameras. Even though I have someone checking on my cat while I’m away, I don’t believe they’re responsible for these issues. It seems someone might be accessing my apartment through a faulty window, which hasn’t been properly secured despite maintenance efforts. But ADT’s system has been reliable. They're a stellar system. I'm just going to go through all of what I do to keep preventative measures. When I get back, I'm gonna change out the base, the modem for the Xfinity, and see if that helps.

When I needed a security system, ADT was the first place I called as this neighborhood uses them a lot. You see a lot of their signs. I tried the cameras but the reception on them didn't work so right now, I just have the alarm system and the window sensors. But other than that, everything has been good. ADT is a very good company. They know the business very well, the service is incredible, and they go an extra mile to take care of you. They will send reminders when you have to check your system and when you have to do things to check. If you need to change something or anything, it's very easy to do. It's not a complicated program that you have to go from person to person. They answer you and they take care of the problem, so that's very good.
A neighbor recommended ADT to me. I had a couple of people come in, talk about what the service they provide. They were one of the most complete and professional. When they came to install the system, they were amazing. They explained everything to me. The alarm went off in the middle of the night. We called the police. People tried to open one of the doors on the back, and thank God the alarm scared them to death. I also purchased from them something for my mom. A couple of times, they called me because she fell. Thank God I was home and she had the monitor on. They instantly called the rescue, and they were fast.

ADT is so far the best I've had. I've had them before and I decided to make a change and wish I hadn't. But now I'm back. ADT offered the price and the equipment for what I wanted. So far, so good. I feel secure. They've been very accommodating. That was the issue that I had with my other service. We had to troubleshoot everything ourselves. But ADT has been on top of it. When somebody pushed the doorbell, the camera doorbell wouldn't ring on the inside of the house. A contractor was dispatched within a couple of days.

I’ve been with ADT for less than a year. Initially, I asked a neighbor and he told me about them. I called them up and had them come out and give me a price. The guys that came out and installed the system were top notch. They were very professional, courteous and helpful. Every interaction I've had with them has always been spot on. It's also very easy to communicate with ADT. I contact them for something or i make a phone call when I need to have them come out. When I had them check the system, we coordinated when we were coming home to make sure that we were home. They were very accommodating to get me checked out with the system to see what was wrong with it.
I've always had good interactions with the representatives. When we were down in Tampa, there was a glitch and all five of my doors were being opened up at the same time or at least the machine was thinking it was happening. I got a phone call at 5:00 am Central time where I live in, but it was 6:00 am Eastern time where I was at. I was sleeping then all of a sudden, my phone went off and ADT was calling. I said, "Okay. Send the police out." Unfortunately, nothing was going on. It was just a fluky thing that happened at Thanksgiving.
Originally, we also had a bit of a problem with the sensors on the doors. They would link up then they would disconnect and I was getting a lot of error messages. I've got five doors in my house, which is a lot. Most people with residential units generally have about three exterior doors on their house. I don't know whether five doors was too many for the system to understand and it was having a problem. The lady that I talked with at the service that came out and installed the system for ADT said, "We'll fix that." They put commercial sensors on the doors and I haven't had an issue with them since.

I bought the house for my aunt and she had ADT there. I kept it and I've been using them for two years now. I like the system's functionality and performance. I've got cameras and that's my favorite feature. Also, ADT's reps have always been wonderful. They've been very thorough, too. When there's been an issue, they've called me and they've addressed it immediately. When reaching out to them, I hate any of those automations until you get to someone. But their automation is pretty good. They just couldn't help me.

The ADT system is easy to use. ADT is doing their job because I'm not needing them as much, gladly. Communicating with them is not difficult at all as well. At one time, I didn't realize that my ADT system was on, and I wasn't able to get to the keypad right away. They called me and asked if I was okay and if they needed to send somebody. They called my husband, too, just in case. Also, I like the keypad 'cause I get to do everything manually - it's not automated. If you need a home security system, get ADT.

We heard of ADT from living in the Virginia area and we had a different company then. When we moved here, we knew we couldn't get what we had before, so we went with ADT because the people we bought from and the house we moved to had a sign in the yard. Currently, our house is equipped with detectors that let us know what's going on, but when the electricity goes out, there's nothing we can do until they're turned back on.
I've been using ADT for about 3.5 years now. We've had our system go off because they were testing it or there was an incident, like there was something in the yard, someone jammed the door or somebody hit the button that looks like a little clock. Other than that, we've been lucky. We maintain our system as well. We have had conversations with the company last year, when a little board was upside down and the lady said, “This is what we're gonna do" and walked us through it, then the board flipped itself back up.
When we've had to have someone come out because something wasn't going right, ADT told us what to do to reset the system or check the battery. We've also talked with reps on the phone for different things that they hooked up. We thought it was hooked right, but then they had to come back and check it, then they told us that maybe we'd wanna try a particular unit, another camera on the back door. That seems like it's working, but the thing about it is we have to keep an eye on it because when somebody comes along or whatever's out there flicks it, that means the battery runs down faster than some of the rest of the units. As far as upgrading, we haven't had any problem. Overall, I would recommend ADT to people and tell them to get it. Considering we live out in the country, especially in Georgia, it works for us. However, it depends on where someone is located or if they're out in the country too, especially if they have wild lines.

We've always heard that ADT is reliable. They have signs in the neighborhood. We went with them as well because of an attempted break in, and so far, it's been a great experience with them. However, the installation was kind of a hurried one. Messages were crossed about how much time would be needed. The installer arrived later in the day and he really needed to get it done.

I'm very comfortable with ADT. Their customer service has been okay. The price is fair. I'm on a limited income as a lot of people my age, so if it could be less, that would be wonderful. But so far, so good and I feel very safe in the evening.

ADT has been pretty good. I get responses whenever there's an alarm. I like the timeliness of the calls whenever there's an alarm or an issue. However, sometimes it's been a little hard to get ahold of support for the product. I pay a monthly fee, and if one of their products is not working, they still charge me an additional fee just to have someone to come and troubleshoot. Other than that, they've been able to resolve the issues.

I like the ADT system because if I turn it on, it speaks to me and tells me it's on. If I turn it off, it says it's disarmed. If I open the door, it informs me which door is open. It is not only on the dashboard, but it is only a person talking to me which door opens or closes. I have ADT for longer than 15 years, and it works well for me. I'm happy to have it. There was an alarm once, and I reacted to it, and the police came.

I signed up with ADT and it works just as advertised. The technician was also very knowledgeable and explained everything to me, so I haven't had any issues. I used to install alarms and I like that there are no exposed wires. Everything has been good.

ADT has gone more and more automated where I can get online and see some stuff. I had some issues with them when we had a remote problem, and they didn't a very good job in resolving that. But more recently, I had a billing issue which they were able to settle to my satisfaction. We've been their customer for a long time and we use their service mainly for the alarm system. We don't have any fancy features although our service package in one location has more capacity. The other one that we have is in a more remote location and it's an older system, but it does what we need it to do.
We've been customers for a long time and through the years, the quality of ADT's customer service has gone up and down. Sometimes, you get some better folks and at other times, you get some folks that aren't very helpful. When we had some storm damage, we were asking some questions and the person didn't really have the ability to answer them, which they should have been able to do. As for the price, generally, it has increased. However, recently, I found that once you get a price increase, you should call and talk to them. In one case, we agreed to stay with them for five years and they kept the price constant for five years. This last time, our contract for the property at the lake was expiring and I asked them to check if the rate was going to change. They said we were actually qualified to have a reduction, so they reduced the price on that one. All in all, ADT's service has been good and we'd recommend them.

I'm familiar with ADT because I had them in a previous house. I use my system off my iPhone rather than the keypad. The young man who installed the keypad forgot to hook it up to the power. It worked off batteries for four hours and went down. They had to send another one in.

ADT is easy to use, inexpensive, and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Their reps are responsive and easy to communicate with. The system is pretty user-friendly. I don't have any problems with it. I'm on a senior plan now, so I pay very little. I am probably not gonna keep it because I rented out the house that the service is at. But I like it especially the Ring phone. I'm contemplating moving it to my second house.

I was putting an addition of my house and ADT came in and assessed my house. They wired up the addition, and then installed some wireless systems, where it had previously been wired, which is good. I have both the wireless and wired systems from ADT. I also have the monitoring system. When the system goes off, they call, and verify what's going on, and then they call the police or sheriff's department for me if it's necessary. Right now, I'm having a problem with false alarms for smoke detection. I'm getting ready to call ADT to have them fix it. But they've been very responsive.
In the latest upgrade, I'm having more technical issues with it than the previous version. I keep getting supervision errors, which means the system has an issue. I have personally reset the system at least four times now because of that. So, I'm not real happy about that and it's also repeated. But we can get through it. Overall, ADT has great monitoring of the system however, there are some system limitations.

My friend has the service with ADT and when I purchased my house, it was approaching four years. I just wanted to have an ADT. A gentleman came out and recommended suitable locations for the alarm setup. The package I got includes an alarm pad securing three doors. When I fell behind on payments, I received numerous calls. Once I addressed the bill, everything was back on track. ADT has been great and I wish they offered camera services in Connecticut.

The people I’ve spoken to at ADT have all been wonderful. Any time I've had a question or something just doesn't act right on my system, I'll call. It was really helpful as far as trying to figure out what the issue is, if I can fix it myself or if I need to have somebody come out and take a look at it. They are also very nice and they don't make me feel rushed off the phone because I'm not always the most tech savvy. They don't make me feel as though I don't know anything because I'm having an issue with the system for whatever reason. If they don't know the answer to whatever the problem is, they are more than willing to help get me to the right person or the right department that I need to get it taken care of.
The longest I've ever had to wait to speak to a person would be maybe 10 minutes. We had had power outages and fluctuations on our system in the city that I live in and I know a lot of people were calling in about issues that they were having with their systems. So I consider that really good considering how busy I knew they were.
The last time that I called in about getting an upgrade on my system, the person that I spoke to was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to walk me through the options that they had at the time, the features that I would be getting as far as the new panel, the new system. The ADT app was my favorite. I can do a lot of the stuff that I need on it without needing to be in front of my panel to take care of it. The system runs great too.

I've had ADT for a little less than 10 years and we haven't had any problems with it. I got the security of it and that's the main thing. If the door has not been locked, it tells us that the door has not been locked, so I like that feature of it.
The part that I don't like was when they would have you do it yourself instead of somebody coming out here. I'm a senior citizen, so I'm not that computer literate. I would like for them to come out here and do it. I'm paying a monthly payment, so they should be able to do that. Also, we had to go through another company to get to ADT. We are with a 65-and-older community, so they set us up through a company. Other than that, I would advise people to get it.

I am beyond disappointed in ADT and If I can give zero stars I would. Save yourself the headache and use another home security system. ADT has lost more of my trust in protecting my home everytime I call them. They transfer calls to so many departments with no answers, calls back with zero voicemails (resulting in missed calls), do not honor promotional deals, and make it impossible for customers to get out of a contract due to their horrible experience.

This is easily the worst customer service I have had in the last 5 years. Customer service could not tell me why my alarm was beeping. They said it might be because my power went out 7 days before for 2 minutes. They told me my door was open. It was locked shut. They hired a 3rd party company to install the system and then when we had a problem with the camera they installed they charged us for a tech to come and said we needed to buy a new camera. I asked him about canceling and he asked me if I had a contract with ADT. Absolutely useless company.

Extremely difficult to get problems and issues resolved, and they show no culpability for their problems. Repeatedly transferred through long phone calls and chats, averaging 60-90 min each, often to eventually have someone tell you an issue is or will be resolved and then it never is. I've received incorrect guidance to address technical problems, equipment mailed to my house it was the wrong equipment for my system, reports that equipment was mailed, which was then never actually mailed, as well as repeated issues with the equipment. Contracts are predatory where there is always a cancellation penalty even if they are not upholding their end of the service, i.e. ability to maintain a functioning system. They weren't this bad years ago, but are now.

I've been a customer for over 10 years and recently tried to upgrade my system. The experience has been horrific, time consuming, and beyond frustrating. I'm now out of pocket $350 for equipment that was returned 11/18 following all the ADT rules. I'm not counting the $59 service fee that won't be refunded. I've spoken to specialists today 1/2, 12/22, 11/19 (average call time is 50 minutes EACH) after spending the entire month of October trying to get technical assistance in my home. $400 and three months of drama with no improvement to my 10 year old system - I refuse to renew a contract with ADT again and it is now my mission to share this story publicly in hopes of saving others.

When I first got ADT it was because I had a break in. They assured me everything was going to be OK which I was entirely grateful but after being with them for a year and three months and having trouble the entire time with no help from them, this company sucks. I have tried to cancel and now they tell me it’s gonna be well over $1500 to cancel because their product doesn’t work. How is that fair? I have never been more disappointed in a company, especially when it’s supposed to protect you. I have tried at me complaints. I have done everything to try to make this work when I first started with them I told them my cellular service at my home was bad. They said that was fine. They said they could get us up and running they can’t they lied they get my business and now I can’t get out of this stupid contract until it’s over. Don’t go with them. They don’t care about their clients. All they are trying to do is get your money.!!!

Horrible customer service experience! I needed to update the address but cannot log in despite all the efforts including phone number, email (ADT was sending me notifications to). I called customer service and was on hold for 30 minutes and then someone just drop the call! Would not recommend, their promises for 24/7 customer support are not met.

They suck! My ADT pulse portal did not work and they could not help me get it back to working, but kept charging me for the online service. When I tried to cancel my service because I moved, they kept transferring me 3 times, after I gave all my info. Clearly they are playing games when you try to cancel service. I will NEVER use them again!!

These people are horrible. Do not buy their services. My ex broke in my house twice while using their services. I fled the premises and asked ADT to set the alarm. They couldn’t help me until an hour later. By then my ex broke into my home. He was able to disconnect my WiFi and the second time he broke into the alarm couldn’t be set. ADT forced me into a contract that I was unaware of by telling me I agreed to a discounted rate for a year, there was no mention of a contract . Don’t do it. Run! They are unprofessional. It took me an hour before anyway could help me while my ex broke into my house and they kept transferring me, each rep I spoke with had different answers.

When initiating my service I was clear that I am blind and need the system to work for me. I was told it worked with Alexa so no problem. NOT TRUE. I had to purchase a separate router to use Google Nest which is 1/10 as good as Alexa. I clearly asked for control of thermostat and the installer did not have one so I had to set up 2 more installer appointments; 1 to install the thermostat and another to fix a faulty installation. The back door sensor had to be repositioned because every time I closed the door it activated the tamper sensor.
Then I accidentally broke the cover of a window sensor and had to purchase a new one and while I waited for it to arrive and schedule another installation, they disabled my entire system instead of just that sensor, of which I was unaware until nearly a month later. Also note that the backyard camera requires dismounting and recharging at-least twice per month. I advise a lot of research before setting up an ADT system, especially if you have any kind of vision impairment.

Buyer beware. This company is the worst security system I’ve ever had. They locked me into 5 year contract. Sales rep never told me this. Price is astronomical. Was never told I had to buy the equipment. I have tried to get out of my contract. I have many days that it shows no events on the camera called their eye department. They had no idea. Couldn’t explain why this happened. She even checked the battery on the camera was fully charged. They told me I could get out of the contract and just pay them $1700. At least they’re not getting any more of my money.

Updated on 01/07/2026: They refuse to remove their equipment & refund, first few days sensors are falling off, door lock broke, now IQ Panel non responsive. Here is a document FROM Safe Haven confirming $0.00 cost for the equipment. Absolutely Thieves! claiming discounts for Military & 1st Responder families. SHAME ON THEM!!!!
I was told I would pay $0 for my equipment, then I was told AFTER they started the work that it was not $0 it was $3659 (this after the power is cut my existing system removed which in turned knocked out my HVAC & and having live exposed wires hanging out of my wall). The tech kept insisting that I needed upgrades and I said no five or more times and I kept saying I did NOT want or need.
Finally I agreed to a smoke alarm and a flood light. Little did I know they installed like 5 of them and then said hey! surprise we added an extra IQ panel in your bedroom, I NEVER authorized anything more then 2 items. In the end they charged me $5,536. My dad has worked for ADT since 1987, I tell ya what, never again will I trust them! Horrible ethics. They present the $5536 AFTER the install, switch and bait and then told me on a return trip to fix the failing equipment that he would not leave until my complaint was resolved & I sign his document. I call that intimidation, to tell a victim that was attacked in her home that he is NOT leaving till this is resolved and you are NOT getting a credit or refund and he is not leaving till you sign this, yea.... I don't even have the words for this other than absolutely horrible!
Original Review: I was told from the salesman who also wrote it all down on their letterhead document that the cost for equipment would be zero dollars. They changed the price AFTER removing the system that the builder installed in the house. I agreed to only one smoke detector and yet they added several, they installed a control panel in my bedroom without asked, they installed outdoor cameras that look into my neighbors yards after I said explicitly that I did NOT want that. Now I get a message that my system is no longer recording because it met its quota which I would never agree to as I was attacked in my home while my alarm was off so constant recording is a must for me and what I had with Simplisafe.
The panel in my bedroom turns on randomly at night while I am sleeping waking me up (why is it turning on? is someone viewing me in my bedroom??). They send a tech that tells me in my house that he cannot leave my own till I sign his document and settle this dispute and with him. Do you have any idea how terrifying that is for a woman that was attacked in her own recently??? This entire experience has been a switch and bait on so many levels. I signed up because it I was told they are ADT, then I find out that absolutely nothing is ADT till after the first 12 months (per ADT customer service). I want the entire system removed and the contract ended immediately and a full 100% refund of everything, immediately.

Do not go with ADT. The technician came to my house. Sat down at my table, look me in the face and lied to me and told me that when I pay off the equipment I'm no longer in contract which was a bald-faced lie. There is a three-year contract after you pay off the equipment. I was never told about a 5-year contract and beyond that. I've had numerous issues with billing, being lied to by their customer support, talk to five different people and everybody had a different answer. This is a horrible company for an alarm system. They will lie to you dead in your face. All they want is your money. I had a 91-year-old mother fall on my back porch. The camera never went off until 15 minutes later. Then I had a chainsaw weed eater and a blower stolen off of my front porch to where the yard camera did not record. Their customer service is horrible and they will come to your house and sit at your table and lie to you about the contract.
All he wants you to do is is sign that dotted line and that technician will come out there and lie to you until you sign that dotted line. I did not find out I was in a contract until 9 months later. I paid off the equipment. I will not pay the 3-year service agreement that I was lied to about sitting in my home on my kitchen table. I’m a customer and my camera been down and trying to reach customer service is difficult. I been down now for at least (3) months. Can’t connect to WiFi. And I need help, but I can get through to customer service. Cable came out and said I’m connected, but don’t know how to connect google, need ADT help. I’m ready to say come get it and just pay the penalty, it’s foolishness. I can’t get any help.

The worst company to sign up with. Locked into contracts for years with a cancellation fee. Then if you sign up for additional features, that you understand will cost more, will result in another extended contract from that point of upgrading features. Which they do not disclose with you. They disconnect calls when pushing to ask more question on why contract is extended with no communication.
They will guilt you into not cancelling your contract and will get you to sign up for another contract and say no cancellation fee if canceled early. No emails with follow up information or confirmation numbers after each conversation when something is changed on your account. It's all via phone that unless you record cannot get them to reimburse when they charge your bank account. I was told several lies from several customer service members that they removed my bank account yet I was still getting charges from them. And good luck getting your money back if you call to dispute.

This is one of the worst customer service companies ever. I had some technical issues and they couldn’t get a technician scheduled for 11 days! I asked for an escalation to get action, and they promised a callback within 24 hours. Yep, you guessed it. No call.

Subject: ADT’s Deceptive Practices, Misrepresentation, and Financial Extortion. I am writing this letter because ADT has engaged in misleading, deceptive, and dishonest business practices that have resulted in harassment, fabricated charges, and threats of excessive financial penalties over services and equipment that ADT itself instructed me not to transfer.
Here are the facts, clearly and chronologically. I was an ADT customer for over a year, approaching two years, before I needed to move to a new home. When I contacted ADT to cancel my service because the new home already included a security system (SST) at no cost, I was told that canceling would result in an early termination fee of approximately $1,600–$2,000 because ADT claimed I had not completed payment for the equipment.
ADT then presented an alternative. If I transferred service instead of canceling, the early termination fee would be waived and I would simply continue my monthly payments at the same rate. I made it clear that this was not ideal, as it required me to continue paying ADT even though my new home already had a free security system. However, under pressure and to avoid the large early termination fee, I agreed to transfer service.
I then asked whether my existing cameras would be transferred to the new home. ADT stated that cameras are not transferred. I was told that ADT does not remove cameras and that I would have to remove them myself if I wanted them taken down. I was also told that if I wanted those same cameras reinstalled at the new home, I would need to ask the technician whether he could do that and that a fee would be charged for reinstalling them.
Given this information, I was strongly advised that most customers simply leave the cameras behind and allow ADT to assess the new property for equipment needs. After moving, an ADT technician came to the new home. Contrary to what ADT customer service had suggested, the technician advised that I did not need new cameras, since the home already had SST cameras at no cost. ADT installed only minimal equipment: a limited number of window sensors and a smoke detector. No ADT cameras were installed, and ADT is not monitoring my home with cameras.
Months later, my husband began receiving repeated calls from ADT claiming we owed approximately $2,000. When I contacted ADT and explained the full history, the issue was escalated to management. Instead of resolving the issue, the manager proposed what he described as “help,” which consisted of offering a short-term discount on my monthly bill, followed by adding back charges for the cameras that were left behind at the previous home and never transferred or reinstalled.
When I refused this proposal, I was told that canceling service would now result in charges totaling nearly $6,000, including alleged equipment charges and penalties tied to a new contract—despite the fact that ADT did not install cameras at my new home and is not providing the services being used to justify these charges.
This is not confusion or miscommunication. This is a pattern of misrepresentation and financial coercion. ADT presented false choices, contradicted its own guidance, and attempted to retroactively impose charges after the fact. I am formally disputing all alleged charges. I do not acknowledge this debt. I am prepared to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the state Attorney General, and consumer protection agencies, and to pursue legal action if necessary. This letter will be published publicly so that other consumers can understand how ADT handles service transfers and cancellations. ADT failed to act in good faith. ADT failed to honor its own representations. ADT attempted to collect payment for services and equipment it did not provide. That is the truth.

I had an encounter with a man named Luke tonight, I cannot make a more real experience with another man tonight. He was very, very knowledgeable in this industry. He sold me with his experience and expertise. ADT BETTER HOLD ON TO HIM!!! He made the whole experience very awesome.

They promise things they won't deliver. Don't waste your money and energy here. They don't care for their customers. In my case they preferred to make a little extra money one month than to keep a 5+-year loyal customer. I asked for a reduction in the number of cameras in my house, when the technician was supposed to come I was sick with COVID in bed, so I cancelled a couple of days before. I asked them if they would keep the discount in my invoice in September, even though the technician came on the 3rd and not at the end of August. They say they understood the situation and they would maintain the reduced price. They assured me this on 2 different occasions.
When my invoice came it was for the full amount. No discount whatsoever. I called and explained the situation. They said it had been a mistake, that they would not charge me anything in October to make it up. The invoice came as if no conversation had happened. I called again to ask what had happened, they said the invoicing department hadn't accepted the discount but they would explain the situation and charge me only for the 3 days I had had the equipment installed in September. AGAIN, that was not the case. So now I am stuck with them for a whole year, since the change in the contract came with a 1-year-long permanence clause. It is not the money, it is the fact I was told differently more than once and the fact I have been n their client for over 5 years and they didn't even consider that for a minute. By the way, the penalty for breaking the permanency clause is 300 euros. Not cheap.

I have been trying to get an appointment to repair and install some new equipment with ADT since 11/8/2025 and talked with 15 different people to explain my problem and hours on the phone waiting. It is now 12/15/2025 and they always promise me to call back with an appointment. I never get that call. My service is not working properly and the frustration of dealing with this is appalling. I need some help!!!!
