    Company bold faced lied to me about equipment being free, even though they run specials online and representatives say it's free. Make sure when you sign the contract YOU READ IT!!! I took the tech for his word and now being billed 1300.00 for the equipment. Ran into tech that installed 3 weeks later in town. He said that was horrible. He lied & said he didn't bill me. Tech said he wants quit because that's the 3rd time he's heard the company lied & billed the customer for free equipment. Tech got approved to install for free & free equipment. So they both lied. Customer service is no help at ALL!!!!

    Generally my ADT service is good, however today a door alarm started going off over & over so I had to call to support. This ends up taking into a AI "assistant" & basically doesn't allow you to talk to a Rep, just over & over "tell me, let me help, I need to know". For my elderly mother, if she's having to call in an Emergency this is ridiculous! If my repeated response is CUSTOMER SERVICE then I expect to be routed to one immediately! Stop this horrible system that is built against our most venerable who do not know how to navigate someone called "AI".

    So far, everything has been fine with ADT. When I had to speak with someone, it was fine. It was no problem speaking with them. If my alarm went off, they called immediately and I let them know if it was something that was really serious or if it was an error there in the home. Never had a problem with them. They provide good customer service. I'm satisfied with ADT.

    We had a gentleman come out when somebody broke our doorbell camera. We weren't with ADT at that point, but we were going to get a new doorbell. Then he presented what more they could do for our security, which we wanted to ramp up anyway. So he ended up putting in more, fixing and replacing things, and then putting in more security for us. It was all done within a couple of hours. It was very quick. I had a really good experience with ADT and you should research it. If you think it's as good as I think it is, you should go with it.

    We've had ADT for years and we like it. My husband was going to start night shift and I'd be at the house by myself, and somebody told us about it. We had to get some help from them not too long ago, but we just needed to fix some kind of battery, and they helped us. When we first got ADT, we just got it with an alarm system on it, and then we put the fire alarm on it. We got tired of those tiny ones going off all the time every time the little smoke coming out. Overall, we haven’t had any trouble with ADT.

    Bad Customer service and bad company, scamming and falsely addressing concerns only if you report them to BBB, you can resolve issues. Don't sign any contracts with them till they address your concerns, or find any local company. ADT headquarters are in Florida and they don't care about any customers, they only care about the monthly payment.

    We've had ADT's service for four years. It was already in the house when we bought it. The system is very direct. There's one panel and the remote when we leave the house is very convenient to just push the button. Right now, I'm not using it because we've got to replace all the batteries. They're shorting out. They're old batteries. We called and we had to have them come out and replace a couple of the packets. Otherwise, we've been able to just replace them. I usually just call ADT when I have concerns. It's been easy to communicate with them.

    We had an issue with our system. We had something installed on the house. When I got to turn the alarm on that evening, the Pulse app that Dan installed for me, wasn't working at all. So, I called ADT. I talked to a guy named Roberto. He said, “Uninstall and reinstall.” I said, “Okay. No problem.” The next day, I was going upstairs where that installation took place, and I noticed that the plug-in for the pole system was off. It was plugged in, but it was at an angle. So, I plugged the thing back in. My Pulse system came right up. I checked my phone right after it. And everything is running 100%.

    I've had a couple of assistance calls. We had the glass sensors installed. And one of them wasn't working properly. I bought another battery, stuck it in, but it didn't work. Then I called ADT. They gave me a 30-minute to an hour window. The gentleman called me up. He said, “You just do that.” And I did. And, bam, they're working.

    We also got a call from a neighbor one time, and he said there was some vandalism. I called ADT. I asked them to come out to check our systems. The guy came out. He did the entire checkup for every sensor. Everything was done. Then he installed the Pulse system. It's been good.

    ADT is a well-known security system. When people see the blue thing they have outside, everybody knows someone has a good security system. The first time I had experience with them was when I bought my home. They came in and did the installation, then they offered me the service, and I said, "Okay, I'll try it." So far, so good. It's a three-year contract and my experience has been excellent. It's been easy. The only thing is sometimes the WiFi with the lights go out and I have to reset the unit on the door. The cameras come back on themselves, but with the one on the door, I gotta go there, do it manually, take it out, and then put it back in.

    The technician who came in to do the install was informative and he told me about the system. He was a cool guy. He did everything and then I followed what he told me and set up the password and how the cameras work. ADT has an app where I can do that. It's really helpful that I can close the garage or set the alarm through my phone. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

    The builders put ADT in the house that I'm in, and I've always stayed with it. They've been fine. I had a period where a few things were acting up, but over the years, the system has worked out. Recently, they came out and fixed my front door cam that I have because it had malfunctioned. That and my sliders had stopped working. Now, I don't know if my windows still work or not, but I don't open them, so I don't know. A few things have happened over the years but nothing major. It's not like I've had a break in and things went wrong

    ADT has had offered me a camera that I would have had to install myself. I'm 76 years old, and I'm not allowed to get on a ladder. My daughter says I'm not allowed to get on a ladder. I break really easy, so that's not a good idea. My front and back cameras that get my front yard and my backyard are not the best quality. There are upgrades, but my cameras are probably lower. They've not been switched out or anything like that to where they have a better quality. My daughter lives here. She has ADT too, but she has the better package. I don't think the quality of my cameras are as good as possibly they could be for the outdoor catching the movement. There are a lot of blind spots. The few times I've had to contact ADT, they've acted quickly and helpful. Things that I had that get could be fixed from my end. They've worked it out with me. ADT does what it is supposed to do.

    I used to work for USAA and if you are a member, you get ADT for a discount, which was how I knew about them. My experience has been good because this is what I needed at home. It gives me security and peace of mind. The battery needed to be replaced about a year ago and they sent it to me, but I wasn't sure how to install it. I called, and the guy who helped me was super helpful.

    Worst experience ever!!!!! This is a trap, you will end up with them forever. No way to cancel it. They keep referring you to another person. That's a clear indicator if a company does not allow you to cancel your service, their service is awful.

    Run from ADT!! Worst experience ever. Was quoted an amount for install and equipment in December. We were looking at two different companies due to the urgency of installation (in December 2025). Installer came out, installed items - we were under the impression we were paying $20 per additional window sensors. We are now being charged the quote monthly monitoring fee and an additional $80 plus a month for two years for install/equipment!!! I have spoken with ADT, they gave me a $200 credit. This is entirely unacceptable and such poor customer service.

    The installers make commission on their upsales and are not forthcoming about the charges. They give you a small screen to look at for the contract and we were told, no need to read - it's exactly what we discussed. WE DIDN'T DISCUSS OVER $2000 IN CHARGES! My fault for not reading but we took him at his word. We have been told there is nothing that can be done. Will NEVER deal with ADT again!

    ADT is a good sound service and it's a good value for the protection and peace of mind. Their pricing has always been reasonable. We've had the security system for about 15 years. We've also had the life alert thing for about a year and a half. They updated the system a year before last year. They changed out the entire system and updated the keyboard. Then I've added cameras and one of those doorbells. The life alert had been set off several times, and they're always very prompt on responding. ADT's customer service reps have always been very fine on the phone and helpful.

    Everyone was knowledgeable, polite and professional when I reached out to ADT. Everything was perfect. I set the techs up to come out at a time that I was here because of my puppies, so it took probably four days. There were many choices presented to me but I live in an apartment right now so I just got the system for the front and back door. Hopefully, in the future, the place will be bigger, and things will change. Everything's working out with me with ADT, and people should give it a shot. You get 30 seconds to disarm the alarm if you forget that it's activated and you open the door. So, ADT is a positive. It's an extra set of security. Everything that they said it would do, it does.

    I have been trying to get ADT to fix the security panel in my home. It keeps going off at unpredictable time of the day and night. They sent a person over to fix it but the problem came back. We want to cancel this service, but adt says we are locked into a one year contract that I did not sign up for. I am looking to fix this problem but if adt can't then I have to see what legal recourse I might have.

    I was an ADT customer for almost six years, and unfortunately my recent experience with cancelling the service was extremely frustrating. It took multiple attempts to get the cancellation processed, despite my clear requests. When I was finally transferred to a billing representative to dispute the charges that continued after the date the service should have been cancelled, I was met with a condescending and difficult attitude. Even though there were documented notes on my account supporting my claim, the representative refused to backdate the cancellation or correct the charges. This has left me feeling dismissed and unfairly charged for a service I was actively trying to end.

    We've been dealing with problems for more than 6 months now, we disconnect the service in our home and in our business because it doesn't work, they don't call when the alarm goes on and we keep calling to cancel the service and they keep charging us for something that WE ARE NOT USING.     The installation went fine. A little bit of the follow-up went fine. At that time, my wife was home and she took care of everything. She did all that work with that and some of the computer stuff that we have here. She had time before she got cancer. She passed away about a year and a half ago. Recently, I had a couple things with the alarm system. We have a gas fireplace in the house. It's a two-sided fireplace, so ir goes in the dining room, and also goes in what we call the living room. Then one night, the heat sensor went off and I couldn't figure it out. Somebody from ADT called, which I was grateful for.

    There are a couple of alarms on the main pad that went off. I'm not exactly the smartest computer guy. I called ADT and they are using AI technology to answer some of the phone calls or based on what the alarms are, we get a phone call. I'm more of a hands-on guy with a company rep, and trying to get a company rep, a service call out here has been very frustrating. I got online and looked at the phone number. I talked to a very pleasant lady. She sent me some information in regards to an owner's manual. But again, I'm in my mid-60s. I like somebody to come in here and specifically show me what to do. Everything else that we have in the house, in regards to the internet, the cooling systems, and I know how to do most of that, but ADT is a new system to me. I'm still trying to figure out the zones where everything is at so I can get some things changed. It was frustrating, still is a little bit of not being able to get a service call.

    We have a smart house and ADT was part of the package. The features are very good, and our interactions with the reps have been all positive, especially the installer. She was very good. She was very efficient and explained everything. I use the app all the time and it's wonderful. I can change the temperature on the thermostat, make sure the doors are locked or unlock them. It works well for me. I had a bad smoke detector and every time I tried baking, it went off. They almost screwed up my cheesecake one day. It was the builder's problem and we've solved it.

    It was recommended to me to have ADT as a security service. I haven't had any problems with the service. Sometimes, it's a little difficult for me explaining what's happening as far as the experiences I'm going under. Other than that, I didn't have any other trouble with them. It's been four years that I've been with them. I have a basic package with monitoring and the entry sensor. Everything has been good with it. The only problem I had was being able to do certain things within the system even though I'm not there. So, a lot of times I have to be there to have something occur, as far as changing codes but that's the only difficulty I have experienced. I’d recommend ADT and I would just tell them just make sure that they understand the package that they get.

    The D.R. Horton people that sold the condo told me about ADT. The system was down a couple of times during the storm. So, ADT reached out. It's excellent. The only thing I would have done differently is I should have got a motion light for the outside.

    Terrible company in terms of customer service. Every time you call the advisors, they all have different explanations for unjustified charges. The advisors do not have the knowledge to solve the problems of the customers. They all have a different explanation for the excessives and unjustified charges and none has a concrete solution. I decided to relocate my service to another address and change the collection card to a different one. After the process is finished, the advisor says that everything is fine that there is nothing to pay extra and that the charges would come out of the new card put in the system. They charged me for the next two months higher amounts and that have nothing to do with my monthly payment and additionally they charged 400 dollars from the new card put in the system that they could never justify

    Today they didn’t returned the 400. And none of the other amounts charged to the initial card. As I said, they are thieves as far as the administrative part, no one can argue about the security service they provide but as for the rest they are the worst. Maybe they hire cheaper labor from other countries, they give them a couple of hours of training and then they put them to work, horrible, the worst

    If I could give no stars I would. Horrible company. They just want to take your money and that's all. If you want to cancel you have to pay for services no used. You will be in debt with them for over 6 years. They continuously up your payment without telling you. I will never use this company again and I'm not the only customer to say the same thing. Their service sucks. You can't get anyone out to help you without paying an arm and leg. Not worth the money. You can buy a full Eufy system for less and better promising service. So easy you can set it up yourself.

    We've been protected with ADT for almost four years. We got it because we moved from out in the boonies to town, and my other half was worried about hooligans. The system has been wonderful.     When I first moved in the house that I'm in right now, my dad already had ADT. I tried to keep it. Then when my dad passed away, I had to let it go. He had multiple locations with ADT, and I just couldn't afford what he could afford. My pockets weren't as fat as his. Then somebody called me from my home warranty, and they said they had this thing for ADT. The guy talked to me and that was how I started it back with them. I asked them if they have a promotion for senior citizens. I am a senior citizen at this time. He said he thought so.

    Pricing was high for me. I'm on Social Security, and that's all I have to live off of. I had to stop my job because I couldn't take care of my dad and work, too. I don't have any regrets on that part, but it caused me to lose some of my benefits. So, I was trying to find something that would be reasonable and wouldn't be a hardship for me.

    The gentleman that came out for the installation was wonderful. I still call him from time to time. He is a younger gentleman named Chris. The only thing with ADT is whenever the batteries go out on your alarm, they won't send anybody out without a charge. I have high ceilings in my house, and I can't get up on a stool or a ladder and change the batteries out. Chris is like, "If I'm in the neighborhood, I'm close in the neighborhood, you just call me and I'll stop through and I'll put your battery." Those little simple things like that mean a lot.

    ADT put in a new control panel, and the installer showed me how to use it and gave me a booklet. So far, everything has been going well. It had a malfunction at one time. It wasn't working right, and they sent a technician out, and he resolved my problem and got it up and running. After that, I had an issue, and I called in, and the lady was able to help me over the phone to get it resolved. So, they've been doing what they're supposed to be doing for the services that I have.

    When I called, I was able to get with a customer service rep and a tech that helped me out on one phone call. Also, they only installed the services I requested. They didn't give me any more or any less than what I asked for. The price is higher than what I paid before, but everything has gone up. It's reasonable. I've got the app on my phone, and I like it because I can turn my system on and off wherever I am. I went out of town and I forgot to turn it on, and I was able to turn it on from where I was. I do get the regular alerts. The only thing I've had problems with lately is the door chimes letting me know that a door has been left open, but it's not a big deal. Overall, ADT has an easy to understand system, good tech support, and it is affordable.

    ADT has been pretty good, other than the fact that my Ring broke. To replace it, they wanted me to pay for the technician to come out and pay for the Ring. But I was gonna get pre-service installation and they couldn't help me with the new Ring. So, that's the only thing that they never really went above and beyond to help me with.     I've been with ADT since January. When I was getting a quote, I dealt with a lady named Paige, and she was very nice and helpful in all the things. Then the tech came out and got everything set up and did what he needed to do. My account was originally started with my Yahoo email and they didn't tell me that that was a problem. When the tech got here to install, he told me I had to have a Gmail and we had to fix everything to the Gmail because it's a Google Home system.

    They also failed to mention that there were going to be two separate charges. The whole time we talked, it was going to be 49.99 a month, which was fantastic. However, I'm on autopay, and I saw a $49 charge and a $51 charge on my card. Once I was at that point, I couldn't get anybody to answer or help me. So, I've been a little frustrated. I was able to get through to somebody finally, and they said, “One is a monitoring charge, and one is an installment charge for the equipment,” which I understand after the fact, but it was never told to me during the setup. I’m not 100% sure I would have done it if I knew I was spending over $100 a month.

    I set the alarm at night. My three-year-old is a sleepwalker, and that gives me peace of mind, but that's the only thing I use it for. As far as monitoring goes, I don't know if I necessarily need their monitoring. The other side of it is that I didn't understand that 24/7 monitoring didn't have a recording. If something happened and someone gave me an exact time, unless I was on looking at my camera at that exact time, or there was motion, it's not going to be there. I can't go back and check at certain times. The only way I can see anything is if I'm live on the app looking. That was a little misleading. Also, there are two different apps I have to use, ADT Plus and Google Home. I can't figure out how to turn off notifications to one. So, every time I get a notification, I get double, and nothing will ever open in ADT Plus. It opens in Google Home, but I can't change anything in there. I can only make changes in the ADT Plus app.

    I have window sensors, door sensors, cameras on each side of my house, and two glass break sensors. I have one in the front part of my house in my daughter's room. Her windows don't open, so I did the glass break there. The installer talked me into doing a glass break versus the window sensors in the back bedroom, because it has two windows, where I should have done two more window sensors instead of the glass break. I regret doing the glass break for the back bedroom. I've had it since January 10, and I've changed the batteries in that thing three times, and it will not work. So, now, we just have to run with it offline and not even use that glass break that I pay for every month. They've screwed it into my wall and I have to pay out the installment.

    Setup with ADT was easy, but after installation, they're lacking with customer service. They do really good on their marketing. When I put in my information for an inquiry on a Saturday, they called me within 10 minutes. I can't get a call like that now that I've set up with them, and whenever I do customer service, I get to talk to a robot and not a person. I've tried checking with the automated system on the glass break thing with the batteries and troubleshooting, and I've done everything. The batteries last about seven to 10 days, and they're not cheap.

    We have had ADT at various locations and homes for over 30 years, and I will NEVER do business with them again. It has taken 4 phone calls to finally get a human being, and it took over 3 hours to finally get someone. Instead of agreeing to cancel, because we moved!, she spent an hour putting me on hold and trying to talk me into using them again. Why in the world would I use someone to protect me who doesn't answer the phone and has AI that is completely unhelpful as well. What if I actually needed help? They also will not let me cancel to this date and even after a dozen hours total on hold, they are going to charge me another month for a house I moved out of a month ago! If they had live people here in the US, it would have been cheaper and easier to have my attorney write them a cease and desist!

    We bought the house that had a Brinks system in it. Then ADT bought Brinks out and they took over. Switching over to ADT was easy and we didn't really make any upgrades. We got an inside camera and that was it. Initially, we had some problems and the service we received wasn't stellar, but we eventually got the problems solved. Right now, I'm having a problem with my keypad. They replaced that three years after we switched to ADT and we've been in this home now for 18 years, so we've had the same keypad for about 12. And whenever we want to make a change, they would always tell us to get an upgrade, which includes raising the amount of money we owe ADT. But if we're making an upgrade, why charge the customer? It's an upgrade on ADT's part, not on the customer's part. Other than that, the customer service reps that I talked to have been pretty helpful for the most part.

    ADT was the top recommended on the internet, and I think they have a good reputation. I just have the cameras and a box, and I got it to watch my dogs. Our Golden Retrievers are very friendly, and they have a tendency to pull people into the yard, and I'm afraid they'll leave the yard. I've had ADT for about five months and I just got the basic system to start off with, but then if I should pass, I wanted to have something to build on so my wife could add security if she wanted to.

    The two techs who came to install were very congenial. I do have a problem with trying to communicate with the home office. I called and tried to leave a message or get somebody to talk to me. I'm having my home re-sided, and I've got these four cameras. The cable was embedded out there. It just disappears behind the fittings or on the camera. So, I didn't know whether I should call ADT and have them come out and take them down, or I can rely on the siding guy to work around it. I kind of think that's out of his bailiwick, and I don't want to damage the cameras. I had a hard time contacting ADT. I was online with them, and I was typing something in back and forth. Then, all of a sudden, something went awry there. It’s probably my fault because I'm not too savvy, but I never heard anything back. They have my name, my number, and contact information. I would like to contact them to ask them what I should do.

    ADT could make the price much lower. I didn't think I'd have to pay a monthly fee because I paid a lot of money upfront on this thing, and then come to find out, I had to pay a monthly fee. It's just they’re not monitoring anything. I'm doing it all myself. I should have argued more over that point, but I wanted the system, so I got the system. Other than that, I'd recommend ADT to a friend.

    ADT was already in my house when I bought it. Every single person that I talked to was extremely helpful and super friendly. I don't know if I'm special, but everybody has been wonderful. Their telephone service people are one of the best. I love the service. I love that my house is monitored 24/7. For some reason, I’m always afraid of fire. The fact that I know that the house is connected to a central station and the fire department would be alerted if there was ever a fire makes me feel very comfortable. For a while, we were forgetting to lock the garage door, and it would pop open sometimes during the day with the wind, and that would set off the alarm. The central station would call and confirm my identity and then disable the alarm. It's great service.

    The system that I inherited when we bought the house is working wonderfully. Recently, the control panel needed to be replaced, and ADT said they needed to upgrade us. I thought we were just upgrading the panel, but it was a 4-hour job. With the update that they provided me, they did lower my price. I have used their website. It met my needs. I have been using the app more frequently since the upgraded installation. Overall, I am super happy to be working with ADT. I would never think of going anywhere else.

    ADT had to change my whole system, including all my cameras, because one of them went out, and they couldn't get the parts from AODA. So, I had to pay for a whole new system. Everything went good with the installation. I have all my cameras in my home system. I have five outside cameras of which I'm waiting for them to come to install the sixth one for me. I have my alarm for my house, and I have carbon monoxide, smoke detectors, and glass break alarm. There's a camera inside. I use my app to check my cameras and everything. Especially if I'm at work or something, I check my cameras and everything. Then I'll use my app if it go off to something. I'll turn my alarm system on or off from my app. So far, everything's good.

    I've been an ADT customer and have been dealing with an ongoing camera issue for quite some time now. Despite multiple attempts to get help, the customer service team has been unhelpful and difficult to work with. Each time I call, I feel like I'm starting from scratch — having to re-explain the same issue without any real progress toward a resolution. No one seems willing to take ownership of the problem or escalate it to someone who can actually fix it.

    When you're paying for a home security system, you expect it to work — and when it doesn't, you expect the company to stand behind their product. ADT has fallen short on both counts. I'd encourage anyone considering ADT to think carefully about what happens after the sale. Getting help when something goes wrong has been a frustrating and exhausting experience.

    My Mother has been a customer for 13 years. The system stopped working after Hurricane Florence. The system has apparently not worked since then. Take in account that my Mother is now 93 years old. She told me that her bank account was still being charged for this service still. So I called a ADT office in Morehead City NC and spoke to a very nice lady that tried to help me. She saw per the records that my Mother had called in 2021 to have someone go fix it. My Mother said that she was told at that time that they had no one to go out and repair the service. So, this nice lady put a block on the draft. And said she would send the password to her in the mail, so that it could be cancelled.

    Well after about 3-4 weeks she finally got that letter with the password, and she also got a separate letter with a bill for the month of February, paid by draft in January and draft stopped. But a bill for February in the mail. I called a Morehead office again. Only to get an AI operator directing me to a 800 #. Called the number and got a guy that said he would have to transfer me another department and that due to a 15 minute wait he would put me down for a callback. So, waited the rest of that day and no call back. Next day, my third day of working on this! I go to my GPS app and pull up ADT in Morehead City NC, and there were about six locations. All having review rates of 1, 2, at the most 3 stars! Picked one and called the number.

    This time I get this women that listens to the story, but tries to talk me out of canceling the service, tried to say they would offer a cheaper rate, and fix the service. Then tried to put a guilt trip on me saying that she didn’t need to be without any service. I explained to her that she had not had any service for all this time, and that I would think if you are a security service that they would be able to see on their end that the service was non functional! She kept on and on, I told her I wanted it canceled, so she says my Mother will get a final bill. I told her that she has a bill, and that she was not paying that bill and or any final bill! That they had taken advantage of an elderly lady that can’t hear, and does no cellphones or anything. And if anything I felt like they owed her money.

    So, today thinking that this nightmare of an experience was over. I get a call from ADT. The call back from two days ago, hahaha!!! He also was of no help, no sympathy, just said it was our choice to not pay, that basically we would have to deal with any negative outcomes from that. And when I asked if he did not care, he said that his feelings were of none of my business and that he was just doing what he had to do to keep his job. WOW!!! So, I do not recommend anyone using ADT for security. They are the rudest, unfeeling, dysfunctional outfit that I have ever dealt with. So this took four days of my time on the phone.

    I hope the Better Business Bureau looks into them because they are all about money, and thriving on elderly, and making it so impossible to get up with them that it just drags it out longer and longer. I am like another person’s review. If I could give a 0 review and still be given the option to type I would. Please don’t bother either sending me back your generic reply! Because I’m not interested. My next transaction will be to the Better Business Bureau. You should be ashamed!!! I could not work for a company this awful!

    Years ago, when my house was broken into a couple of times in three months, the police came and they recommended that I get ADT. I did and have been with ADT since, and that was about 30 years ago. Getting in touch with them has been pretty easy. You just have to know which numbers to call and I've got that all written down in my book. When you've been there for so long, you get in easier. It's like a gratitude thing for the length of time you've been with them. They usually treat you a little bit better too. I get through pretty quickly and usually, within two days, they can get somebody out here to do whatever I need done. When they come to fix something, they take care of it quickly and efficiently. They're in and out in less than an hour usually.

    Customer service has always been excellent. A technician replaced my keypad just recently when I had him do some other things. He saw how old the keypad was and he replaced it for no money at all. I have a brand-new keypad, which is great 'cause I could hardly read the figures on the other one. Their fees are not all that much for considering what you get. When I was pretty short of money for a while, I thought about canceling it but I decided no, I would miss it very much. It gives me a great sense of security.

    I've been very happy with ADT and I like the simplicity of the system. I have a very simple mechanism with the keypad and it's very easy to know which ones to pick, if I'm gonna stay in the house all night or if I'm gonna have somebody else come later, I don't want the thing going off as soon as they come in the house. The instructions that come with it are very easy to understand as well. The little batteries wear out after a while and are pretty expensive but you can get them through Amazon for a very reasonable price. You don't have to purchase from ADT and I like that too that they're not particular about their things where you couldn't get them anyplace else. The guys who came out to repair gave me this information and that's very generous of them to do that. They also showed me how to replace them myself, which was nice.

    My previous wife had used ADT at her other house, and when we got married, we moved. We asked if we could move the system to a new house we built. And they said yes. Then, we bought a bigger house in the same area and they transferred it again. I’ve had the security system since about 1998. I called them because they made some additions and we were interested in adding to the program that we currently had. We added features for opening the garage door with our phone and for setting the alarm away from the home. ADT had a representative come out and do that and show us how everything worked. The added cost was minimal, so we went ahead with it, and we’ve had that part of the system for about 10 years.

    The installation team was very efficient, thorough and explanatory, and they did a great job. I had an emergency once when someone tried to break into our home while we were out to dinner. They used something to hit the glass in the locked door and that splintered it and then shattered it. But as soon as they stepped through the broken glass door, the alarm went off, and the police were there in three minutes. So, all they created was a mess of glass. The system saved me from losing anything.

    Aside from the ability to open and close the garage door from off-site and turn the system on and off remotely, we also have standard door and window security and smoke detectors. ADT is excellent and has always given us great customer service. They were very thorough and followed up. The times that I had something that needed to be fixed, it was fixed, and they watched out for me so that I could get the best features that I could possibly get to satisfy our needs.

    I've had ADT for years ever since I was in upstate New York and they have always been on the top of the line. They have always been my preference. Whenever I would call them, my experience would depend on who I talk to. Some representatives are more helpful and useful than others. Other than that, I would tell others to sign up with them. The product is good and the equipments are great. They're a little pricey though. I’m spending $120 a month and $60 off it is for the equipment.

    Aside from that, when I got setup with them, I already had the camera, the panel, and the doorbell camera. And it behooved me because I had the equipment, but I had to get the equipment fee charge, which is $1,000. I was with Alder and Alder got bought out by ADT. So, since I already had the equipment, I felt that it should have been like an exchange when I switched over. Overall, ADT is a good company to get with, but it's best to still do some research before signing up with them.

    ADT has a pretty good security team. They are always be courteous and knowledgeable and professional and all around just a good service. I've never had any issues of being kept on hold or not having my calls returned or not having a technician coming the time that he said he would be here or leaving the place in disarray when they left. So I've had no problems. The system has been good so far. The only issue I've had is probably related to the WiFi. I can't replay all my cameras and it's mostly related to WiFi issues.

    I can pull up my cameras and see what's going on around my house or something. I know one time my alarm went off and we thought we had intruders. And I was able to look around my house with the cameras and eventually found that it was a false alarm. One of my sensors fell from the window and that caused the alarm to go off. If I hear a noise outside, I can pull up my camera without getting up and looking out of the window and see what's going on, if something is actually going on. Just having a visual access to what's going around on my property, even if I'm not there. If you're looking for a good security company or agent, talk to people from ADT. I've had pretty good representation and pretty good service from ADT for over 20 years.

That part of it concerns me and my wife. At our last house, when ADT went off, you can hear it from the outside. In our new home, it's not loud. I don't know if it’s because it's a larger home that the volume is not that loud. Other than that, the system's features are excellent. My favorite is the control panel. When we come in the house, it's easily accessible. It works very well. The panel can control the temperature when we're away from the house. Then I went with State Farm Insurance, which upgraded my existing system. I like the old one better because I had motion sensors. This one just has glass breaks.     For nearly the entire time we've used ADT, it has been non functional. The only positive aspect of ADT is the Google Nest, which you can just buy on your own. The ADT+ app is needlessly confusing, and it's unclear how to sign into MyADT as it requires a verbal password (which I don't recall ever making). The entire product seems is a scam. I was dishonestly assured that it would be very easy to cancel, but they require you to call and answer an unending list of questions and wait on hold. All I want to do is cancel my subscription and it's a headache. I completely regret ever signing up for ADT and I wish I would have just gotten google nest instead. Do yourself a favor and avoid getting involved with this company in any way. I have no interest in continuing with this company and I feel compelled to warn others about ADT whenever possible, both online and in person.

Last month, I had to get another fob for my wife. They also let me know that the battery in mine was low, so the rep told me what kind of battery to get. I got it and changed it.     When I moved into my new house in 2018, ADT was already installed and I kept it going. They've come out a couple of times, and they were really nice guys that came. The system is old, so they put some new parts in it and they were really nice about doing it. I kept everything the same as is. I didn't know ADT had cameras, so we have separate cameras, but one never has enough cameras nowadays. Fortunately, I haven't had that big of an emergency yet. The wind blew our door open one night and the alarm worked perfectly. We didn't close the door all the way, and when the wind blew it open, the alarm went off. People could hear it 10 miles away.     I called ADT and reported something. The alarm was going on and on and when my son said, “Mom, let's turn off the alarm,” I said, “No. Don't turn it off. I want to see how long it's gonna take for someone to answer me.” If the alarm goes on, they're supposed to call. I just wanted to see because I've been having the alarm for 30 something years. Finally, after maybe 20 minutes that the alarm has been going on, someone answered me and told me that they'd transfer me to the right department. When he came in, he spoke to me and told me to do this and do that, but I didn't know what to do. My neighbor was outside and I asked them to help me because by that time, my son stepped out. It was not a big problem though.

    Since I've been with ADT, I called them about three times. They've been very nice to me. I'm not gonna leave ADT. The only reason why I did call to complain was if there was someone who came here and hurt me, why did they call me to ask me if I was okay. They were supposed to send me someone. So, the following day, I was the one who called ADT. I said, “Never mind. Don't send nobody because my neighbor already solved the problem for me.”

    There are other companies that are less expensive. However, we're happy with ADT. We have alarms on our doors and windows and a fire detector. We have the motion detectors, but we don't use them because we have cats that we leave at home. A couple of years ago, we put in a new door to the basement. ADT had to come and put a new detector. We also had some of our detectors removed. We had some that weren't very important, but they would go off. They're old and were breaking.

    We had a different kind of door that needed a different kind of detector. The installers came out and put it in quickly. There were four detectors that we decided to get rid of. We were able to do that. They were able to walk me through how to do that over the phone so I can do it without them coming out. They were good. We've had our alarm go off accidentally a couple of times and we needed to call ADT and have the alarm turned off.

    I had a professional and concise experience with ADT. I haven't had to call that much, but when I did, it was good. I had to once late at night and I got a live person on the phone, and helped me out. My alarm went off. I wasn't home and I didn't know why, so I called. As long as it wasn't armed, it wouldn't go off, so ADT guided me through that. Also, my keypad showed, “Battery low, Battery low” so the gentleman came out and changed the battery. I couldn't find the box. He found it because he found the wiring. I walked all over this house and couldn't find it. It was under a staircase in the basement and they were behind some clothes that I had a pole there with clothes.

    The lady that I talked to was wonderful and I was up and down three flights of stairs. I said, “I've been in this house 29 years. I've never seen a box.” ADT's technician looked in one of my pantries where I would have never looked in the corner of the wall and saw wires. He knew right away where it was, and we went down into the basement and found it. I was also able to get someone to come out here and change the battery on a motion detector that was very high in my foyer. There's no way I could have done anything like that, so everything was good.

    ADT has a really good rating in the neighborhood where I live, and I've never heard anything negative about them. They were very knowledgeable and price-effective. When I signed up, they had a special and I got a very, very good price. They put the devices that they put in your door and windows for an excellent price. Plus, I got two fobs that I use all the time. I go on cruises, and they work on the app. It's worldwide coverage. The installation guy was wonderful. He knew everything. He had worked in IT. He was fabulous. The system exceeded my expectations. I hit the alarm by mistake, and they called right away.

    They were very amenable to anything that I've questioned them about. Like you sign the contract, and then in the middle of my contract, they raised the price, and I called them back and said they can't do that. So, they said, "Okay."     Buyer Beware! I signed up for services a few months ago. At the time I explained that I have some physical limitations and was told that ADT would send out a technician. So when I followed up with this I was then told that I signed up for DIY- Do it yourself. I questioned this because why would I have signed up for that with physical limitations? So then I heard back and the response was that if I wanted a tech to set it up it would cost $350.00! I was never told this from the beginning. So basically I've been paying for a service I can't use! Definitely do your research! Never again!

    I've been with ADT for 15 years now, and I have the inside motion detectors for both board door entrances, and then a motion detector inside the house for my hallways. I had one issue one time when I was working on my daughter's bedroom, putting in new outlets. I didn't realize that when I hit the circuit board downstairs to shut it down, so I didn't get shocked changing out the outlets, that I'd cut my ADT. The police showed up at my house. I came walking out of the bedroom with a knife and a screwdriver in my hand, and they said, “Sir, please drop the knife.” I said, “What's going on?” And he was asking my wife, “Are you OK?” But we got that resolved quickly, and then he came into the bedroom and said, “Wow, you're doing a great job in here.” It was a little weird at first, but it worked out.     My experience with ADT's system is somewhere between good and very good because I've had several downtimes. One of the cameras went off and I could not get it to come back on, so I had to call. I talked to a person every time I initiated a call, and it was very good. One time, I called in the technology department and talked to a lady who, I felt, did all that she could do to get my system back up, but she couldn't. But I got a call from one of their mobile technicians who made an appointment and came out and got it taken care of. ADT is a good security company. However, it's a little pricey compared to some of the other companies. But I felt that the price was worth it with what ADT offered.

    I called ADT one day and told them that a certain person is not supposed to be here, so they should look out if he comes to the house or the alarm goes off because of him. I knew that he would try to come back and get in here, that's why I called in Sunday and told ADT's rep about him. I asked the operator if he wanted his name and he told me no. The next day, I had a break-in and that person broke my back door as well as the glasses out of my window. The alarm went off, the patrol came here, and ADT dispatched their guys. But since they didn't have that information from their operator, they let the intruder into my home after he told them that he left his keys in here. I was puzzled because I didn't want him here, yet he was allowed to come into the home after I specifically called customer service about him.

    The guy that was investigating it didn't do anything because he hadn’t had that information. But the police was called and they took a report for it. So now, have a back door with a piece of plywood over it. ADT's rep should have taken the right information and communicated that properly. They could have told the police that that person was not supposed to be here and they could have arrested him. But they didn’t, so they let him go.

    I then called ADT and asked if they could help me out with the bills by lowering it. But they didn't do anything. They just started charging me the same fee. And every year, it would go up, until I talked to somebody because I caught it. I was going to tell them that I couldn't afford the services, like police coming out and the investigator coming. But they didn't want to lose me as a customer, so they said they were going to do lower the rate for me. But when I looked back at my records, nothing was done. Other than that, I have ADT for 17 years and their customer service has been good.

    I've had ADT for 23 years. It was in our house when we purchased it. We did an upgrade maybe in '09, and then we added the glass break in 2018. My biggest thing is that I feel as though when they sell you the glass breaks and the carbon monoxide, they should go through instructions on how to replace batteries. The beeping can start in the middle of the night, and it's not easy because there's a process you have to go through in order to not cause an alarm event. I ended up with alarm events both times, and there's a process in which you enter your codes to clear the unit. They should go through that stuff with you. There should be like a cheat sheet.

    It's frustrating. If it beeped, you can't leave it. You have to get up and change it then. It's really a chore if it happens in the middle of the night. I have rheumatoid arthritis. My body hurts. When a technician calls because you have an event, then you gotta explain everything, and sometimes people on the other end don't get it. Sometimes they're trying to get you to fix it, but it doesn't work. They end up sending over to technical support, and usually, they help, but it's a process.

    We had ADT for a long time ago and then we stopped it. But we're both getting up in age and we have a very nice big house in the woods. So we decided to go back and start using ADT again. About four years ago, we updated our system and added some window breaking stuff. When I needed to talk to someone, I called the number that I was supposed to call, and there was always somebody there almost immediately to pick up. Several months ago, I had a beeping going on downstairs in my lower level. I thought it was a bad battery. I have a motion detector in my lower level. It didn't fix it because it wasn't my ADT. I have a carbon monoxide detector very close by, and that's what was beeping. I replaced that battery.

    I've had very, very, very few issues with ADT. The last one we had was a big one. We were gone for like four days for a wedding, a wedding out of state. And on the very last day, we got a call from ADT, and it was like 11 o'clock at night or something, that our lower level outside door was open, that the alarm went off. So, I called my neighbor who is our go to person. And she looked out. She couldn't see anything. She called the police. The police came right over. They walked around the yard, looked around, couldn't find anything. Well, I said, “Okay. Let it go, and I'll check it.” So, I talked to ADT. And I said, “Let it go. I'll check it when I get home.”

    What happened was, I have a lower level, a regular door, but then I have an aluminum storm door. And what happened was I, myself, had brought in some stuff through that door. And it was a load of like eight bags of salt for my softener. And I didn't tightly close the inside door, which has the alarm on it. But I locked the outside storm door. It's an aluminum storm door. I locked that one, so the police could not get in. But what happened was there was a huge wind that night that actually blew in through that storm door and pushed open the inside door that set the alarm off. So, it was totally my fault. I didn't close that door completely and lock it. But the process worked perfectly. The actual process is, if there was an issue and we weren't here, what would happen? Well, it happened. It was almost like a test, and it worked. I called my neighbor. She called the police and ADT or whatever. It all worked out fine.

    I like the features of the system. When the guy came out, it's a little bit expensive. And I'm being honest with you on this whole thing. I didn't realize it was like a five-year deal or something on the equipment or something like that. We're both on fixed incomes and we've been looking at ways to lower some costs. I do notice that ADT is not cheap. But I'm happy with it.

    ADT has been very good for us. I've had it for several years. I am living alone and I rely on ADT. I liked its reputation, and I have a friend who has ADT and they recommended it. When they came to install the system, the rep answered questions for me. He showed us how to work it with our phones, and was very accommodating and made suggestions. When I first bought ADT, my husband was against it. After having it for a year, he said, "You know, ADT has been really good for us."

    The customer service has been very good in answering questions and supporting. Sometimes, I'm forgetful and don't always set it, or I set it and forget to turn it off. ADT has been very good about telling me or letting me know that all was okay. They also supported calling my daughter when it went off. My son-in-law was happy with being able to go into the app and figure out what was happening when the battery went down. One of ADT's workers came for that. There was a question about the cameras, because they were not working. The rep made me nervous that it would cost me an awful lot for the cameras. But when they came to fix the cameras, it was not as bad as the rep made me think. They were very supportive because I had a warranty on it. Because we were not sure if this is what we wanted, I felt strong about having the warranty. It has been great.

    I've had a pleasing experience with ADT. They are nationally known as opposed to some small local outfit. It was before the time when a lot of the do-it-yourself home security systems were available. ADT's reps have always been responsive and straightforward. When I call, they would have to get back to me because there wasn't a rep available to take my call at the time. Sometimes, how they did the billing is confusing. Other than that, no issues. My system does what I want it to do. I've done one or two where ADT asked me if I'm comfortable doing the work myself, and they have a technician call using technology a phone Zoom where they can use my phone camera to see what I'm looking at. They can walk me through the installation of a sensor so they're very user-friendly in terms of technology.

    One of the drivers for me upgrading was the system has been in the house for 25 years and it was put in by a different security company who went out of business, when it changed over to ADT. Some of the sensors that have been on our windows for 25 years began to fail. ADT was easily able to come out and change those sensors and they walked me through the existing sensors that didn't necessarily need to be changed using that online phone, Zoom-type connection so I could change the batteries myself and make adjustments.

    ADT is a reputable company and does a good job. But I wish they offered more on-site checks like they used to, instead of guiding you through it on the phone. It used to be that you could go on a maintenance plan and the techs would come out. They've stopped it, unless it's something severe. I don't have the kind of time to get my ladder out and do this and that. So, the customer service support is not very good. But ADT is very reliable and efficient, and they do an excellent job preventing intruders. Pricewise, they could offer discounts for seniors. I’ve been with ADT for quite a while and overall, it’s been a very positive experience.

    This company sucks. Their customer service literally lies to their customers. I canceled my account after over 15 years. I was never told there was a thirty day cancellation fee.     I have been an ADT customer for several years. The equipment continues to not work properly. For example, my alarm goes off even when the house is not armed, the glass break alarm continues to go off when no glass is broken and nothing in the house is dropped or broken, the alarm has gone off when I am in the house. The camera on the ceiling goes on when the alarm is in stay mode and is not supposed to do that, so ADT is recording me in my house when they are not supposed to be.

    When I first joined ADT I had people come out and look at the equipment but they never figured out why things did not work properly at times. I have worked with tech support on the phone and nothing ever gets resolved. Today, a representative in monitoring called because the glass break alarm went off. I instructed her not to dispatch the police multiple times because my family lives a few house away and would come to my house to check that everything is as it is supposed to be.

    When asked my password, I shared four possible passwords because I could not remember which one it was. The third one I stated was correct and the rep still dispatched the police anyway. ADT randomly chooses when they call me if the alarms go off, and there have been times when I never get a call after the alarm goes off.

    When I came home from work today, there was not grace time to disarm the house. Instead the alarm went off immediately. I contacted ADT again after work and the supervisor lectured me making today's incident my fault. I could never recommend ADT as a monitoring company. Go elsewhere for good service and equipment that works.

    I had a different security system that I wasn't happy with, which is why I went with ADT. I have been with them for at least 10 years, and the good part is that it works. I forgot I had the alarm on when I came back home, and it went off within five minutes. There were two officers there and they were asking for my security code, but I couldn't find anything. There were also a couple of smoke calls because I had somebody cooking who didn’t know how to open the windows and let the smoke out or turn on the vent. But I was home at the time it was happening. So, I'm happy about that.

    I was halfway down to Georgia when I stopped at a wayside to sleep and realized I might not have set my alarm. I couldn’t get the app on my phone to work, so I called ADT. I told the rep that I only wanted the system locked, not unlocked, but she said she couldn’t do that. She offered to send something to me, but I told her I wouldn’t receive it for three weeks because it would go to my Wisconsin address and then back to Georgia. I wasn't happy with that situation, but it was my fault for not setting the alarm before I left.

    Another issue I’ve had is with the batteries. When I had the system put in, I said I didn’t want to deal with batteries because if I’m gone six or seven months out of the year and wouldn’t be here to change them. But the system does have batteries, and when they go bad, they need to be replaced. I can’t even get the cover off to change them myself. For that reason, I’ve considered taking the system out of my house. I asked if someone could come out and change the batteries, but when I called ADT, they told me they didn't have anyone available for that. I had somebody come out one time because I have no idea how to do it. ADT's reps tried to walk me through it, but the battery will just go bad again, and I’m 83 years old. I’m not going to remember how to keep doing that every time it needs to be replaced.

    I like the emergency part of the system, especially the smoke alarm and the temperature alerts when I’m not home. I don’t use the door security locks when I’m here. But if I go somewhere and I’m not going to be here, I like that I can lock it on the phone. I probably should get in the habit of setting it more often since I’m paying for it. I have large dogs, so I can’t use the motion detectors when they’re loose, but at night they’re secured, so I could set it then and just remember to turn it off in the morning.

    I just told somebody about ADT because their furnace went out. I explained that if they had ADT and their temperature dropped below the level they set, ADT would have called them instead of them not knowing until someone checked the house. That conversation happened a couple of weeks ago, and they even called me afterward to ask what system I have.

    I had some window sensors installed, and the ADT installer quoted me a price which they can do I was told. Then ADT called customer service call and said I owed more money, I explained to them that wasn't what I was quoted. They asked me, the customer, to try and reach the installer by cell phone, and I was like, "Why should I do that?" So I did, but it didn't help.     My brother and I were talking about ADT. His neighbor told him about it then he told me about it as well. I've also heard very positive feedback from other people that have it and I've not heard anything negative about it at all. When I bought the system in November, the sales rep was very knowledgeable and helpful. They guided me in the right direction of what I needed. The guy who came out, Brian, awesome. He was also very helpful. He told me what I needed but I couldn't afford it so we picked and chose what I had. I have the smoke alarm and the carbon monoxide sensor.     We got ADT when my daughter was 16 and everything went good with the installer. The system functions very well for the purposes that we've needed it for. It's also nice to tell me if I have a door open that I forgot to close 'cause it will blink at me and make me go, "Why are you blinking?" if I look at it. When we started, we were using cameras which we didn't need after my daughter moved out. We got it in security to be able to spy on my children, more or less, and we've adapted what we had it for. Now, we use it because we travel so it's nice to have that house piece.

    My sense of security with ADT is very good. I know the system is gonna alert me if someone comes in the house 'cause I've accidentally set it off myself. I like that I have it set up that if it goes off, it alerts me, but it also alerts my neighbor. In situations where it's gone off, I've always gotten calls from my neighbor. It also shows up on our emails. All the pieces have worked and at this point, I'm blessed. No one has ever tried to break into my house, but I know if they do, they're gonna get the same response I got when I triggered the system accidentally. We've had ADT for about 7 years and it's been good. We've had one issue, but clearly, we still have it.

    About 14 years ago, we called ADT and had a gentleman come out and explain the system and what would be covered. A lot of the things would be our choice and what we would want covered. We signed up and ever since, we have been members. We are happy with the service. My husband will be 86 and I'm 84. When there are places where we have to have batteries changed but couldn't reach them, I've called and bingo, it was not a problem. They would send somebody out and do whatever they had to do. The technicians we've had here have been very personable, which always means a lot.

    We were new to security systems and had no idea about them. But the rep explained the difference between a hard wired system and a battery-operated system which is what we have. With a hard wired system, the window will open from the bottom. If somebody is flexible or agile enough, they could open the window, slide it down from the top, and jump right in. We went with a battery-operated system because that would cover both the upper panes and the lower panes of the window. It has worked because fortunately, we have not had any bad experience since. We would recommend ADT to a friend. We're very happy with the experience we've had with them. It's nice to know that ADT is out there and is interested in their customers.

    A young man from ADT knocked at my door, Baron, and said, "Would you be interested?" I just had something stolen off my porch, and I said, "How much?" He told me the price and it was very good. They didn't leave a booklet on what to do, so I got online and I asked what to do when the battery drops. It said, "First thing you do is you unscrew the screw at the bottom of the unit." There is no screw at the bottom of the unit though.

    Overall, the system is good except that we keep getting the notices, "Your unit is not turned on.” As soon as we're sure nobody's coming in or out of the house, we turn it on. My husband goes out of the house between 5:00 and 7:00 every morning, and he shuts it off then, but we had a situation wherein my husband opened the door without shutting the system off. Other than that, everything's fine. Once the ADT guys are here, they're really good. It's the call center that's bad.

    I've had ADT for 32 years since I lived in this residence and their service has always been excellent. It's very easy to get in contact with them. When there was a sensor always going off in the garage saying that there was an alarm. ADT came out and fixed that. I upgraded recently, and I got the cameras and all of those things installed. Since then, the system has been really good. I love to check my daily cameras and see what's going on. We had a mail theft, where somebody broke into our mailboxes outside.     Don't know what has happened to ADT. They use to be a great company with excellent customer service. However, with my most recent equipment issue, I scheduled an appointment for a 4 hour time slot only for the tech to show-up 3 hours late with little in the way of updates. The tech shows-up and confirms what I told the representative when scheduling the appointment. Not prepare to perform the repair, states we have to reschedule for the repair. This comes at a cost of $59. Rescheduled for the panel replacement only for them to cancel the day of the appointment after already waiting 2 hours into the 4 hour time slot. Try to reschedule for the following day, only to be told the are full-up and have to reschedule for days later. I rescheduled for the next soonest available time and ask to have the local manager to call to discuss this situation. Of-course no call.

    The tech shows-up the morning of the next scheduled repair only to welcome the tech and immediately be told there are no notations on the repair order as to being no-charge (defective equipment) and instead of waiting a few minutes to get clarity from ADT account representative, the tech says he cannot wait that he has other appointments. He proceeds to tell me I will have to reschedule yet again! This is now the 3rd day having to take-off and make arrangement to be at the house.... Truly unbelievable. I've been a customer of ADT for over 10 years with 3 different house... No more!! They just lost a long term customer and they will lose every other customer future customer I have a chance to influence. What had happened to this company and their customer service!

    I had been with ADT for a couple years and the service was just horrible! Customer Service is especially rude and if you're having an issue you can expect to grab a ladder and fix the issue on your own with them guiding you over the phone. They take advantage of your problem in trying to sell you MORE equipment. I cancelled service with them recently and at first they were going to give me a refund for the month I paid for, but when I wasn't interested in buying new equipment at a discounted rate, my refund was taken off the table. Crooks with no business integrity whatsoever! I'd consider another security company if I were you.

    This is by far the worst security system. I have had to deal with. I had my camaras installed by ADT Technician in October 2024. The technician did a horrible job, one camara is only pointing towards grass. The doorbell camara is pointing towards the wall. I called several times to have them position the camaras correctly (one mount is down and the other is up). The representative was no help. Only wanting me to pay extra cost for the technician to drive out. After it was their technician fault, sloppy work and didn't care.

    ADT has acquired the alarm company that I have been with for a long time. [Lifesheild] They changed the name to Blue by ADT, and it's a complete nightmare every single time. They can never seem to locate my account. Yesterday, I was transferred a total of 11 times during the 2 hours I spent on the phone with them, and each time I had to reiterate my situation. Finally, I was connected to the person who was supposed to upgrade my system for free, as promised. I am not making this up. And she abruptly ended the call because her line was not working properly. I could barely comprehend a word she was saying. I suppose it was because I was inquiring about what was promised to me: a free system upgrade if I continue paying the $32 monthly fee. I have never missed a payment. This is completely unacceptable.

    They must improve the system or something so that everyone can benefit. They have deemed my devices obsolete simply because I did not purchase them from them directly. I acquired them from the company they bought out a few years ago. It feels like my money is not valued. They are certainly efficient at charging the monthly fee, that's for sure.

    I have a little key fob that I can lay by my bed at night and set my alarm and turn it off, call the police. All I have to do is touch a button just like your key to your car, and I can do that to my alarm system. I like that. I'm not sure the new ones do that. I had $1700 left to finish paying the equipment off; so I paid it off & removed it from the old house to use it for my new house. I called ADT to have a technician come & install it for me; when the guy came. He told me that this equipment is old & won't work with my new house.     This company is terrible if I could give zero stars I would. To start with, they have a very lengthy contract, and anything you change they will add another 3 years to it. The insulation tech was terrible my boyfriend had to do half it. Here is the kicker, the cameras only work one at a time with 2.5 mins in-between, so they are worthless. They do not tell you that at installation. I had a tech come out (he was a hour late, no call no communication) because my cameras are not picking things up. He stood in front of it and said they work but you have to wait 3 mins for the other cameras to pick it up anything new. And then laughed and was like sorry that's just how they are.

    So I called to get information to cancel and got hung up on. So I called back and the only thing I could do was buy new Google cameras because that is what they are using now for 900$ AND add another year to my already 3 year contract. Blows my mind that they upgraded but wont upgrade existing customers. I can see now why they have a ongoing class action for overcharging people exc. I should have known better when they tried to charge me for a service call on THEIR cameras. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY from this company. There are much better ones out there with no contract and better customer service and way cheaper..

    Everything went really well when I got my ADT system installed. I didn't realize that they were gonna be drilling holes through my house to install the camera and the wiring. So, they ended up taking up some of our outlets on our walls that we weren't prepared for, but it's okay. It is what it is. As far as the features, we have the motion detectors on our bedroom windows, but we mainly use ADT as we're coming and going to secure the house and make sure everything's okay. The notifications come on my phone, so I check those in the morning, but it's more like a habit type thing to say, "Yup. Yup. That's when we locked everything up, that's when we unlocked everything." Overall, the system works for what we need it to work for.

    I was quoted an amount for work to be done, $514.18 & the bill was 2x, $1,112.05, what I was quoted. I requested a new keypad be installed and to change out an overhead door contact and an external door contact. After receiving the WO and see that I was charged 2x what I was quoted, I called ADT. I called the same date the work was done and after being on hold for 1 1/2 hrs & hung up on, I called back & was told I had to wait 48 hrs for the WO to show up. I called back & was told a credit was given.

    The following month, a 2nd charged for the work was applied to our account. We was not given a credit but was put on a flex payment plan. I have made multiple phone calls, talked to the technician's manager & told he couldn't help me with the charges and he could not transfer me or provide me a number of who could in the billing dept. I managed to get a hold of someone in the concierge billing dept only to be told that ADT has called me and replied to my email stating the additional charges were correct because they spoke to the technician. I informed her that was a lie because no one has called/emailed me. I pointed out that a keypad would not update the software, he changed out the keypad. Before he changed it, we asked him if we would be charged & he said no. Had he said yes, we would have said don't bother because we could still arm/disarm the system with the keypad.

    We were charged for the keypad & a wall mount for a keypad that was already mounted on a wall. When I asked about the additional sensors, I was told that they come in pairs & I was only quoted for 1 & that was on the sales dept for not quoting that correctly. There was already an existing sensor on the 2 doors they were just replacing them so they could connect to our system. I guess magnets need to be replaced as well, but that's was the explanation I was given about the extra contacts.

    The technician did not once tell us about any additional charges for the contacts, keypad, wall mount or even the batteries. He just put them all on the bill thinking no one would see it and complain. I have no problem paying for the original quote, but I shouldn't be charged for the tech upcharging for a bonus. We signed for the additional work in the amount of $514.18 not for that amount and anything else they wanted to charge for without telling us they were charging it. We were not informed of any additional charges. We did not agree to any additional charges.

    Our system does what it's supposed to. The only thing is ADT makes it more and more difficult all the time with all these codes. It's more difficult if you got to do any programming. It's not a savvy piece of equipment to use. I had to call to reprogram a key fob, and the guy did a phenomenal job, but it took forever. I've been with ADT for about 15 years. I haven't had any break-ins or anything going off other than me forgetting to turn the alarm off sometimes when I walk in the door, and ADT promptly calls me back. That's good. When they split the Pulse up, I had an issue with the older alarm and then they wanted to charge me a lot more. I had my quarrels with their reps, but we were able to reach a decision and an agreement.

    I just had ADT installed on Dec. 31, 2025. And this has been the worst experience ever. I am so disappointed that I am locked into this contract for 36 months but will not be renewing. ADT makes a lot of promises that they do not honor and their customer service is horrible as they hang up on you, set your service up through text message and then when you need help no longer respond. This experience I do not wish on anyone. If you are expecting a company to keep their promises, monitor your home and keep you safe, do not go with ADT.

    If I could have given 0 stars I would have. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you do use them, DO NOT BUY THE EQUIPMENT OUTRIGHT…RENT IT. They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. They constantly have given us the run around, not returned calls, cancelled appointments, and even flat out lied and claimed they came to our house and we didn’t answer. We have a camera to prove this never happened. We have gone over a month without our system being properly set up and with only 1 of 3 cameras installed.

    No matter how unhappy you are with their service, even if they don’t provide it properly, they will not refund you. We want nothing more than to return our items and cancel their service, but since we bought our equipment outright, we are stuck with this awful service. If they can’t even set up the service correctly how are we to trust they will contact the right people in the event of an emergency. Save yourself the money and go with someone else. They already have your money so they don’t really care what happens after that. They apparently don’t have managers either to help resolve issues. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE.

    Customer for 27 years. Obsolete equipment was expensive to replace. Went with a better coverage company and was charged a next quarter billing fee to cancel. Equipment to be replaced was non connected to alarm company. Called to see about replacement. Was quoted 3600$. No breaks for existing customer. After new company system installed was notified "You can’t just quit" and charged full quarter fees. Extremely dissatisfied with service. Difficult to avoid ai and when person is received only interested in monetary gains. Sometimes learning what a company is like costs money. Just sorry I was a customer without needing interaction as long as I was.

    We have been dealing with the system going off daily, not once did someone call to see if there were an issue at our home. Battery issues technician been out, replace the battery next week the same thing over and over again. It been at least a year or more. Very dissatisfied and I’ve already told USAA to stop recommending this company because they aren’t living up to good expectations. Our neighbor changed service to another firm the same reason customer service and service system not working. I will be removing my automatic payment and revoking my contract because ADT isn’t living up to their expecting and what they promise.

    I have been a long standing customer with ADT, over 10 and half years. I called to cancel service, since I moving. I received the worse customer service ever in my entire life and I'm 75 years old. The person for this horrendous service was JAMES. He wouldn't give his last name. I tried speaking to corporate, his supervisor, but it fell on deaf ears. I will under no circumstances use ever again ADP and definitely not recommend this company to family or friends. James was the rudest person, didn't listen to any of my requests. I don't know how this company will stay in business with staff like that. You lost a valuable customer.

    So for (5) years ADT no customer service still sucks!!! due to rude people, calls dropping. I'm month to month with no contract which is great.     I am furious with ADT. I have been a loyal customer as a married woman for many years. I recently got a divorce and am in the process of filing a restraining order against my ex. I contacted ADT to remove his name from anything associated with the account as he no longer resides in the home. They told me they could transfer it and it would cost me nothing. They said a tech needed to come out and take a look at the equipment. He came. Was a great guy! He found some additional blind spots and sold me a few more cameras. My bill went from $59.99 a month to $229 per month (due today). But you can't put a price on peace right?

    They switched everything over and then I see an additional charge of $566 charged to my bank account from the original account with no warning or explanation. I have been passed to multiple reps (some with major attitudes and some trying their best to work with a crappy policy) with the resolution being to take the amount they charged me from my ex's account (with no good explanation) and applying it to my new account. So I'm thinking I beefed up security and am only paying $229 today, I ended up paying almost $800 today! Since when do they prey on domestic violence victims?

    I just wanted my property secure, you would think a security company is savvy in how to make these changes. Divorce and DV isn't rare. They treated me like a brand new customer who needed all new equipment. I'm so disappointed in how they handled this. Because the easier solution would be to just hope my psycho ex doesn't break into a house he no longer owns only to be able to receive a call from ADT claiming it's his account, despite having no legal rights to the property. This dumb run around nonsense could get someone killed. BEWARE!

    Ordered flood light camera only. Received that in mail with a home security set that I did not order. My husband put up flood light, which worked great but would only save recording for three hours. So I called customer service. Was told had to plug in the monitor system in order to save recordings. I told them again I did not want that system and I wanted to send back. So technician called this morning, told me that that was not true and the flood light had nothing to do with the monitor. Technician could not understand why my flood light could not connect to my already ADT pulse app that I have had for six years. So nothing has worked. On the phone for two hours today. Nothing.

    So now I have had enough. Want to cancel it all, send equipment back. Done!! Oh no, now I am being treated badly, kept putting me on hold. Agent comes back on and tells me sixteen hundred dollars to cancel. Pay for equipment I did not ask for and pay for a system that won’t operate. Two months is all I have had this headache. So that is my story. ADT screwed me over because they can’t figure out what is wrong. It is so wrong. ADT does care about the safety of people; they care about money. Again, corporate greed strikes again.

    We were customers of ADT for approx 15 years and we had a good relationship. We had them at our business as well as our personal home. We sold our company and cancelled the ADT at the business location 7 yrs ago. This last year we called and cancelled our home ADT account and paid the last 30 days and noticed we were still getting billed on our VISA after a couple months. I called ADT and they looked into it and said that we had 2 accounts at our house and that we had only cancelled one of them. I tried to explain to them that we only have 1 house and only 1 residents at that location and that when I called to cancel it was to all be cancelled as I said I did not need their services any longer. They were no help and continued to bill my Visa card. So I called Visa and asked them to look into it and to stop allowing ADT to charge my card.

    Visa got a refund for the 3 months that they had charged my card and then they sent me a direct bill for the charges. After this I called ADT in Nov and stated that I should not owe this and ADT sent it to COLLECTIONS (MIND YOU our credit score is over 800). I tried to explain to the company the situation but is all they are doing is collecting.

    ADT has changed a LOT from when we first signed up and the turn over of employees is very high so you will have a hard time dealing with the same people.

    I would be VERY careful if you sign up with ADT and read all the small print as well as when you cancel (and you will) get it in writing that you cancelled ALL of your accounts and then watch your CREDIT CARD! I WILL NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH ADT AGAIN after this.

    I would absolutely not recommend this company. They hold you hostage to contracts although it’s their equipment that is defective. I’ve only been with them for four months and wish I never signed with them. I’ve had five technicians come out for the same issue, I have done my part and trying to resolve it according to their instructions and still the same issue with the doorbell camera that continues to die, although it is a wired device and they tell me that I cannot get out of my contract because they only monitor Security and I’m not responsible for the camera, but yet it is their equipment that they installed. I will continue to write negative reviews and every single platform I come across until I get a effective resolution.

    Was with ADT for over 10 years for my business...last 2 years my system didn't even work, no one would help unless you wanted to pay a tech to come out at 59. an hour or more, then they were taking out Extra payments, charges kept going up every year, so decided to finally cancel, they were still trying to take payments out, kept getting calls from ADT, automated saying my system wasn't working way after I cancelled, they sent letters saying my bill was overdue, I called back several times, to people that didn't know anything, very rude, last one said it would take 30 days to cancel, & that I still had to pay.... I will never get ADT again...or refer them to anyone.

    What a scam. I called to cancel since my rates were increased twice even though I am under contract. The retention person tried making offers to keep me and I respectfully declined. She goes ahead and says I have a $595 fee (more than the price of the service she offered) when I declined that and proceeded to question she closed the account without my consent and proceeded to bill me anyways. Stay far away, there are better options for less money.
