I had ADT before. They were more open to my availability even with COVID. The tech was very professional. He wore his mask the entire time. Also, he took his shoes off even though I didn't require him to do that. He was very safe, so I was very pleased with that. I love that I'm able to arm and disarm from my phone. That was a plus for me.

When the person from ADT was here, we walked around my house and decided which windows needed more than others and which could be done about anything. I said, "I’m gonna buy equipment, but I’m gonna buy what I really need." He worked with me on that and I got what I needed. Right now, I’m enjoying the system. When I'm ready to shut in for the night, I wanna lock myself in and it says, “System Stay. Leave now.” So the only thing is you're staying in the house, but then the announcer says, “Leave now.” That needs to be tweaked. Overall, my experience went very smoothly. I feel safe. I feel more secure, especially when I'm away from my house, and also, when I'm in my house.

The sales rep was a really good person, and he was thorough and complete. He was on top of things and he showed me everything. When the installer came out, he introduced himself and went over the packages, including the extra packages I was looking to get. As he started putting everything in, he told me what he was doing and why he was doing it. He was into it and it was good. Everything’s working great so far. I really like it.

We upgraded our Wi-Fi through AT&T and they had a package. They gave a discount and they connected us to ADT. The gentlemen explained and gave an overview of their system. Then, they scheduled a date to send a representative out to do a install and a full understanding of what the requirements were. It took about a week. The discount was $800 worth of equipment. We don't have a big house but to do the house, it may be another almost $1,000 of equipment. So, that surprised me. Then, the appointment was late and it took the rep about five hours to install. So he was here from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, which was kind of odd. But everything got installed and everything works. ADT should make the initial estimate a little bit clearer. The technician that came here seemed like he used some type of spreadsheet to do the initial estimate, which was different than the actual estimate once you put it in. So, it seemed a little confusing.

Yesterday, I called the agent, Ulysses. He's the one who installed my ADT system. I wanted to ask him a few questions and he didn’t answer his call. I left a message but he didn't call me back. He never told me anything about the license. I wanted to know if I need a license for any false alarm. He needs to explain that to me. He also told me he would send me a sign but it's been 10 days and I don't have a sign yet.
I'm even thinking of canceling the whole thing now because I'm not hearing from him even though he was very good. The first day, he was very attentive. He came in, gave me all the details and we signed on with him. I didn't get a chance to shop around. He answered all our questions and installed everything. He put all the sensors on the windows and the doors and made sure that they were okay. He worked good and he was very kind and respectful. He was so patient and was giving us a lot of details about the system as first-time customers. He made a better offer than what he had originally given. He was cooperative and he wanted to satisfy our needs.
When I called in, they didn't give me any information about anything, how much it is and what we needed to do. All they said was that the representative would come and explain everything to me. However, when he came in, right away, he wanted to create a password and he wanted to go ahead with the whole thing as if it’s a done deal. I said, “Hold on. I know nothing about this. I know nothing about the initiation. I know nothing about the equipment cost. What are you doing?” He said, “I'm just getting the information so we can start.” I had to stop him there. The whole experience has been pushing a lot. I know they wanna sell but I'm hearing my friend saying I paid a lot of money already and I shouldn't have done that. Also, for signing up, they said I would get a gift card but I never got it.

I've known about ADT through a couple of my friends. My friend in Erie just bought a house with his fiancée. They got ADT and they liked it. The big thing with ADT was the smart aspects of it. I am very much into smart technology and automating things. I really liked the fact that ADT had this control app that lets you control different things, like the front lock, the back door lock, the thermostat and even the lights. The big selling point for me was home automation. I like the ease of use, the accessibility of the phone app, the functionality, and the features it has. I like the fact that I can pretty much control the entire system from my phone and I can always and add more to it later on.
When I first got this security system installed, I kinda wished they told me upfront some of the other things I could automate. It would have been nice to have those options. I didn't even know I could automate my door lock. Instead, I had to get another tech to come down and install the thermostat. That was an additional installation fee that I probably could have avoided if I just knew all the options I had upfront and got all of them at once. I just thought I was gonna get a basic security. I just had the technician come down because I wanted a quote. I didn't think I was gonna go through and get it. Once I found out about automating the locks and all that, I was like, “Okay, I'm just gonna get it now.”
The guy that came to install the system was great. He was really nice, informative and helpful. He was quick and efficient too. He kept it easy and simple but when he went to install the security console, he left a hole in the wall. By the time he was done, all he did was just stuff the hole with newspaper. I've called ADT about it and complained. They said it's gonna take five to seven days for his supervisor to look at it. It was a pretty serious issue. I just moved into a new home and I have part of my wall destroyed. When the second tech came to install the ADT thermostat, he even made an additional note because he said it was crazy to just leave it like that. I'm getting contracting work done. I'm getting the flooring done upstairs. I asked one of the contractors, "If I throw you some money on the side, do you think you can help patch this hole up?” They patched it up but you can still see it. Now, I have to get it painted somehow to cover it up.
Sometimes the customer service line is a little difficult to get ahold of. It took me a while to inquire about the thermostat and get an appointment scheduled. But the overall experience has been has been really good. The system works good. I like the way the equipment looks. It looks nice. It's not invasive. The functionality and the price is fairly decent.

We've used ADT at every home we've ever owned. Everything has been fine since the installation. The guy that came and installed ADT was really, really good. He did a good job explaining the plans and working with me. He was here for about four hours. He did a very good job. I've really enjoyed using the phone app. He helped me with that and showed me how to work it from the wall.

When I talked to somebody on the phone, they told me it was gonna be 27.99. But then they were trying to charge me different. It was around 69 and I said, "No." They called the manager and they said it was 27.99. So I got that but there was a surprise. They added another $7 because supposedly, if the alarm goes off, the police doesn't come, a guard comes. Other than that, I'm satisfied so far. The system is doing good. I'm just waiting to see what happens to my $100 gift card.

The guy that came out was very professional. He was very polite and courteous. He explained the system very thoroughly. He went over setting the alarm, taking the alarm off, showing us the pictures, and showing us how to look at the pictures. He went over a whole lot of stuff. I'm going to get the doorbell alarm, but he let us know that it needed to be hardwired. So I have to get an electrician. I have the smartphone app and the remote button. So if we got stuff in our hands, we don't have to worry about pushing numbers.

I was referred by my mom to ADT. She's been with ADT for some years now. Everything went smoothly. The rep updated me on information I didn't even think to ask about. She kinda told me everything that needed to be done. She was very informative. She was even answering questions that I didn't even think to ask ahead of time. I had a good experience with the initial contact. The guy who came out to my home was also very informative. I felt like he listened to my concerns. I don't feel like he was trying to oversell me and a lot of times, you feel like you're being oversold things that you don't necessarily need. I didn't feel that way. I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. He helped me get what I needed based on my on budget. The only thing is I thought the monthly bill is pretty high. But other than that, everything was great.

I know a lot of family members and friends that had been going with ADT for years. ADT's been around since I was a kid so I also did some research and looked up that they are one of the number one security system services. My family comes first so I definitely wanted my home protected with one of the best security services around that's why I picked ADT. The guy that came out to install was professional and everything was up to par. He took care of us in my home and I appreciated it. He showed me how to operate the system. This was the first time I've had an ADT system. He showed us tricks on how to arm and disarm the system and how to use the keypad. He went over the basics with us. He was good with demonstrating. He's a good worker.
It is nice to be able to disarm the system without having to punch in the keypad because my keypad is a little bit away from my door and sometimes the light is off. It’s nice to know that you can disarm it straight from your phone. It’s a really cool feature. As far as the service, it’s great. They have done an amazing job. It's just that I haven't received the gift card that they offered with the package. When I initially signed up, they said there's a $100 visa card that the gentleman went over with me. He gave me a number. He said sometimes it’s in my spam and to check it. I called ADT about 3 days ago and they took my information again. They told me to continue to check my email for the gift card to redeem the gift card. I was looking forward to getting it so I can give to my son.

ADT's salesperson was absolutely darling. He was really good at his job. I only wanted the basic service for $27.99 a month but then he told me that I could have cellular service if I did that. I would have to buy something to get it. So, I bought their carbon monoxide monitor. That wasn't true. I called and told ADT that I wasn't happy with their $48 charge and they said that their rep misunderstood things and that I would get the $27.99 rate.
I put this system in the house for a child who has disabilities. She tried doing the numbers and setting the alarm but it wouldn't work for her. She didn't want the ADT system and it was making her nervous and upset. I cancelled the service. ADT has a great system. But between feeling a little scammed and the child not being happy, I'm happy I cancelled.

I've got friends that have installed their own cameras, which were primarily what I wanted. Then, I stumbled onto a website from a click. I received a phone call from ADT and from there, I was told there could be a free consultation. But it was deceiving. We were going over about what to install and I asked if the rep if they just install cameras. They said that I have to get a basic package. I decided to go with it but whoever I talked to gave me the impression that it doesn't make a difference if you get two cameras or 20 cameras. It's gonna be the same thing. They set me up however I want and then it would be just one charge per month. But it's not how they do it.
ADT charges per piece and it’s $169 per window. There was a lot of confusion on the pricing. The information could have been put in a different way. The installer was great, very polite and professional but I was completely thrown off when he showed up as far as what I got for the money. He said he gets it every day. So, however their pitch is, that needs to be changed out because there are a lot of people out there that it probably turns them off.
I do arm Away when I leave. When the guy installed the alarm, for 48 hours, he didn't activate it. I hope it's working. The only thing I do know is that if I leave the front door open, it will shoot me a text saying, “Front door open.” It will give me the time that it shuts and opens. And that's without internet. If I run for groceries and leave it open for a minute or two. I'm assuming it's working. I wish I had internet fully though. I haven't been able to use the cameras yet. So I don't know if they're gonna work or not. But as far as what I've seen so far, the experience is perfect.

The sales representative was great. He got in-depth about the different plans and exactly what we're getting into before we agreed to it. The installation was easy as well. As soon as we gave the guy the green light and we chose our package, he took off with it and got it all done quickly. My wife is a stay-at-home mom and I work about an hour away, so it's good to know that she's covered. I have peace of mind.

ADT has been a brand name and it’s been up there for a while. I called them and it happened so fast that I didn’t check out the other competitors as far as the pricing and all that stuff. The installer was nice and knowledgeable. He seemed like he knew what he was doing. He went through the system enough for me to understand what to do. I see some buttons in the screen that I don't know what they're about and I don't know if I need to know. But I understand as far as the usage of the system, arming and disarming, and opening doors. I do most of the moves through my phone.

ADT was misleading. They should be honest with people. Honesty is the best policy. They could improve on being upfront about the cost of things and what's included. I went with them because of their promotion but I'm not happy with the procedure and the price. They lure you out there with $850 worth of equipment then you get a sales rep that puts a little pressure on you to get the stuff. That's when you get into the gist of things and when they break it down, it's not what you anticipated.
I don't have a problem with the security system but the installer put three holes in my walls that didn't need to be. He didn't pay for the stuff to fix the walls. I went and bought it but. That was out of my pocket but it wasn't my fault that he put the holes in the walls. He ruined my whole Saturday. My appointment was between 8:00 and 9:00. He came at 8:00 AM on the dot and didn't leave until probably 7:00. I told him at the beginning that I wanted the video doorbells. That's what really made me wanna get the security thing. It turns out I will have to have wired doorbells to get that so I didn't even get that. I still settled for the little things on the door and windows. That was a lot so that was $1,300. I don't even know where the $850 worth in free equipment went.

I called to get AT&T Wi-Fi and AT&T asked me if I wanted to get home security. I just recently purchased a house, and I got a 17-month-old baby. With everything going on, I went ahead and got home security. That all went well. I got all kinds of extras and they were willing to help cover some of the cost. The downside is we're on a tight budget right now, but I talked to a supervisor and she said, “Hey, we can give you a $100 Visa gift card to help cover the installation cost.” I said, “Okay, that'll do a little better.” They did more than enough.
The gentleman that installed the system called me while I was still at work and he said, “Well, what would be a good time?” I said, “Around 5 o'clock, slow time. Because I work on fast time.” He told me to call him when I got off work, and he would meet me. I had a great experience. The ADT system is easy to use. It is a cell phone tower process. If the power goes out or if your phone lines get cut, it won't go out because it'll still go through the cell phone tower.

Most of my family and friends had ADT so I didn't bother with the other systems. We wanted the system for nighttime security when we are asleep. The young man who installed seemed to have been well-informed. He was friendly and he appeared to know in a way what he was doing. I wanted the camera but my system here would not take the camera. As soon as I get that straightened out, he's gonna come back and do that for me when I call. I like that the system lets me know when my doors are open and we are arming our thing.

I was calling ADT for information at the time and the rep put me on with her supervisor. I ended up getting a lot of free stuff, but made up for the increase in cost, when I really was looking apples to apples. It was more than I was wanting to spend. But the amount of freebies that they were giving me kinda made up for it in the long run. Because I was able to do a video doorbell and a video camera outside that I hadn't planned on doing.
The system is really easy to work with. I have reprogram myself to remember I have an app. But I wish that I had an option other than a box when I'm setting up sensitive zones. I really need like a triangle because of the setup of my yard. Two sides of my house have streets and if I do a bigger box then I get notification every time a car passes by. But if I had a triangle instead of a box, I could eliminate the street and have a better sensitivity for movements.
So far, I've had a very good experience. The only negative experience I've had was that the video doorbell was not charged. I thought it was hardwired in because that was a discussion that we had with the installer. The reason we went to the front door was that there was a hardwire doorbell there, instead of doing the back door like I wanted because there was just a battery doorbell there. But I didn't realize that it was a battery doorbell and that I would have to take it off and charge it like every two months or so.

There was already an ADT system in the house that we're trying to move into. They had an older system, and we just did a few things. Then my insurance agent told me if I have it, it's supposed to help on our insurance. We just went with what we could afford right now and we're waiting on getting the Wi-Fi in the area and get the upgrade on the security camera and stuff. Having kids, my favorite feature is telling me when they open the door or windows, the chime, 'cause I know when they're running in and out of the house.
I had one issue. I was leaving the front door open when I was trying to turn the system off and leave. I wasn’t using my remote on my key fob and I called them and set up a callback. They called me back and I stood beside the thing. They told me how to fix it instantly. Super good customer service. Everything's been super great. We love the system so far. ADT is super simple and easy. Any questions you have to ask, you call and they can pretty much tell what it's gonna cost and what you're approved for, they run the little check.

There's also a guy named Alejandro who comes here about these things. He was the one who did my system in installation. He went outside and put the cameras so I can see my windows and my door. I can see my car, the back door, and half of the neighbors' cars. I look at the cameras on my phone and everything looks beautiful. I set up the alarm system on top of my desk. It's a quick reach when I open the door and it's perfect.
I have good service and everything is wonderful. I will recommend ADT to anybody who wants the alarm system in the house because I like it myself. But something happened by mistake and I got switched to another company. That company sent me a battery and I refused it. I called ADT and told them I had to go back to my ADT. Also, do not agree with the battery system thing. For seniors, the batteries should be kept within arm's reach because some people can't climb up the stairs to go change them. I went through that problem. I cannot go up the steps on my ladder. It's a three-step ladder and still too much for me. You charge the battery for eight hours then put it back in. That’s not a good deal. I do not recommend anybody to take that battery system.

Somebody came and talked to me about it and the deal was all right so my husband and I got the system. The installation person that we had used was a real nice and cool guy. However, the alarm that we have on the back door by the kitchen is highly sensitive. Even you're in the kitchen and you close the refrigerator door or the littlest thing, that alarm is always triggering something to go off. I asked a lot of questions and he explained everything down to the micro-bit. He showed me that there were a bunch of different options of what I could do and we went with what I thought was best. I didn't feel like I was being pressured to buy everything that was on the list. I love the system. I don't have the doorbell thing right now but that's something that I'm eventually gonna do in the future. Once I do get Wi-Fi, I will be upgrading my system. I paid the $327 upfront. ADT charged my card way before the installation was done. The guy I spoke with at ADT gave me $20 off for my payment. I don't like that there's no motion detector. What's the point of even having the system if I'm not gonna get any alerts on my phone that people are coming in and out. It wasn't done like how it was supposed to be done. It was just a whole lot of talk and no action.

I was leaving the state and I needed my house to be secure. One of the features I like about ADT is being able to assign other people to be able to go and check on my house. I am not even in the state at the moment. But my girlfriend and my son and my other son are there and they each have their own code. So they go and check on it if everything's fine.
The installer explained a lot of things that I did not realize and didn't know. He was very helpful. But the lady explaining to me on the phone what I actually had was different than what he said. He explained the whole thing and it made sense. There was a promotion running for $27 but I was going to get something that I wasn't gonna get and the price was higher. So I didn't get what I thought I was gonna get. I thought the lady said that it was a promotion with the doorbell. But the doorbell did not come with it at all. All I was getting was the monitor in the two doors. She thought I was hemming and hawing, which I really wasn't. I was asking questions. But I got what I needed, so it was fine.

My first experience with ADT has been terrible. I was lied to. When I did this over the phone, they told me I will be getting a Ring doorbell and two cameras. They also said I will be getting a keypad for my door and eight contacts for my windows and three contact for my door. I asked what would my monthly payment be and the guy said it'd be $53 a month. I asked how do I get their service. He said that'd be $99 and I had to pay for it with a credit card. He also said I would get a $100 gift card back.
When they came to my house, the guy told me the only thing I was getting are the door contacts and my window contacts. They gave me the smoke detector and the carbon monoxide detector which were promised to me at the beginning but I didn't get my cameras, my key thing for the door and my key fobs. The service tech was obviously in a super hurry so I didn't appreciate that. I'm not computer savvy with the phones. He kept telling me what I needed to do and I don't like it. I was so disgusted with the service. He never even left me the paperwork on what he installed in my house so I don't know my contract number to get my Visa card.
I talked to some lady named Debbie. She told me that none of that stuff comes free. I said that was not what the guy told me. I told her the day they put the service in, "You can come pick all this ** up. It's that easy. I'm not in breach of a contract." She said that I was. I said, "All I got to do is have my lawyer go back to that date that I talked to this guy over the phone and everything's gonna come out and show that I'm not crazy. This is what I was promised." She said, "This is what I could do for you. I can write you all five months with a service." I didn't think that was enough but I just said to skip it because I needed an alarm system in my house. They already drilled it out so I left it alone. But I still didn’t get my door key thing or none of that stuff.

I got a hardwired system and then, we did glass breakage and smoke alarms. There's a carbon monoxide detector too. The installer didn’t do a very great job. One of the complicating factors was I had a hardwired system and he didn't have a whole lot of experience doing those. He was more qualified to put in the wireless systems than that. He gave me the manual but we didn't even activate the system because after he left, the system wasn't working. I called the technician the following week. That guy didn't come to the property but tried to debug it remotely. He took about two hours but he couldn't get it to work right. So, today, someone else came out to try to work on it. They said it needs to almost be completely reinstalled.
ADT is a big company and they have a lot of local service. The company I had before faded off and they're not as engaged or involved in the area. ADT’s customer service is not that great though. When you call, you're on hold for 15 minutes before you can talk to someone. But when you finally get to talk to someone, they’re responsive.

I had some changes that I wanted to make, and he was fine with it, and everything went well. He also made sure to have his mask on at all times. We have a keyring that allows us to alarm the house. So, from the driveway, my fiancée can easily just hit the button. ADT is something that I always trusted. There are companies that offer kind of the do-it-yourself route, but we know we can trust ADT.

I've also seen a lot of ADT all over and our daughter in Wichita has it. What made us go for sure was that it's a three-year contract and if we do move, it goes with us. We like that. The installation team came around 11:00 and left around 1 o'clock or so. They trained me on it and that went fine. I am satisfied with the system. We've used ADT before in different situations. We knew it was a good product. They came to the house to get the system set up. We bought the whole package because we can use it on our phone as an app to lock doors. The tech set it up totally because it hadn't been to that extent before. We have a Shih-Tzu and the motion detector does not pick her up. He aimed everything above.
ADT is one of the best-quality systems there is. It's well-advertised on TV. We used it for my mother when we haven't sold her house. There was four of us and we were spread out in Georgia, Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. Any one of us could take care of the house through the ADT system. All of us were checking on each other that we had locked doors and we could do it from anywhere. I have forgotten a time or two to lock the front door and I did it by the phone app. So that's really nice not to have to go back to the house. Another thing I really like is when somebody rings the doorbell, you can go on the app and see who it is through the phone.

It's kinda frustrating to have to go through the emails and I get that about every 10 minutes. I have about 50 of them in one day. A lot of people have ADT. I did a little research and saw that it was one of the larger companies and have a presence here in our town. I've known about them for years. The rep was accommodating and seemed to know what he was talking about. He was a good salesperson. The installation team had to struggle a bit. They were here the whole day because of getting everything working. It was not that we have that complex of a setup, but it was some equipment problems. But they got it figured out. They were gonna be here in the morning and I scheduled my morning to be free but I had some stuff going on in the afternoon.
By the time it got to the point where they have answered questions or told me about it, they were through and I was in the middle of something. So I missed some of the explanations and stuff that I would have liked to have heard. But it wasn’t their fault. It was just the way it was. They were certainly here long enough but they were nice people.
We had a sensor that was set up in our bedroom that wouldn't work there because the blinds interfered with it. We had to do something different so we had another person come out. We decided we had to do a motion sensor instead of that sensor. So they had to be ordered. We're still in the process of setting it up. We have not turned it on yet because we didn't get off to a smooth start. And then, we have company here, too, which makes it hard to start up something like that as they come and go. Still, ADT worked out fine.

Sean was awesome. He was very professional. He knew what he was talking about and what he was doing. I have the motion sensors in a four-car garage. I have the strobe lights and sirens outside, which I really wanted. I'm in a complex and every building has the same address. So, if the police were called, where do you go? He had them on the truck, which ADT told me they might not be carrying them on the truck. It was good. It's enjoyable. But I'm still having problems with my system. I trip it every day.
When I set the system manually, I'll press “away.” I’ll wait a couple of seconds till it starts counting down. I walk towards the main door and the alarm. I assume it's going off because it had noted a fault. Now, it starts ringing, so I have to set it off and start over again. Then, I'll have to press the “away” button and wait a few seconds like I always do. And then, it’ll work. It usually takes two tries and then, I try it with the remote. I'll do it inside and the same thing happens. It'll trip as I move after the alarm is set for “away,” and starts counting down.
I also tried to set the alarm away outside with the remote. I could hear the alarm counting down but I don't hear nothing at the end because usually, an automated voice that says, “Away,” or “Armed,”. I don't hear that, so I don't know if the system is armed or not. There's no way for me to check. So I'm having little issues like that. I'm not an electronic guy. I just put the security system, the camera system in, and I have to wait for somebody to come to do the software for me because I can't do it.
We have ADT at home. I had the old system. It's much easier for me. But then, we upgraded too. It's nice to have the key fob. So it went beautiful. The tech was fantastic. He was a very nice guy. He knew what he was talking about. The salesperson on the phone was awesome too. I've recommended ADT to people. It was my intent at that time to call ADT and strongly protest the rep’s presentation, her attitude and things of that nature. She was the first one I contacted and once I started asking important questions, that ticked her off. The conversation was going so badly. I started questioning her about a number of things. Her demeanor was bad and she got irritated with me. And at one point in time, I even said that the phone call was not going very well at all. I’ve done sales and I’m on the business of choice too. You don’t get ticked off verbally or if you were together, visibly. You have those skills and you should have that initial training process on how to get around that and still not aiming at the customers.
We stuck it out because we needed ADT. They are someone I've been familiar with. I was part of law enforcement from quite a while ago. I did crime prevention in addition to other things and ADT is one of those that I always recommended. It was their track record and recognition. Anyone who looks at the door and they see the ADT sticker or sign, and you’re ready to go. It’s a reliable company. Everything about this has been good. It's just that initial customer service rep and the offer she did when I deviated and asked questions that weren’t on the script. She did not even offer to get back to me with the questions.
The installation process was good but within the next day, we left and went to a family visit out of state. So, we haven't had the time to go and play around with it. We're using it primarily through the phone right now since it has a simplified interface but we've got the book out here or the thing that he left on the procedures. The guy didn’t leave the contract though nor an instruction manual other than this bifold paper. We don't have the contract that we initially signed and he said all this stuff was gonna be sent to us, but I haven’t seen it. Still, we’d recommend ADT. The experience with the initial contact and the unpleasant experience is not indicative of ADT overall.

I asked her about it and she said she would be listening to what they have to say. The rep showed up and did his spiel. The next thing I know, I'm signing up for a security system. The installation process took the guy maybe an hour. I only needed two doors and three windows that I wanted him to install the stuff on. I told him to come and go as he needed to. He was fine to do that and he did do that a couple times.
The rep wore his mask but he didn't put on any kind of shoe covering. They should be equipped with foot coverings that just slip on and off of their shoe, boot or whatever they've got on. That way, they won't be tracking any kind of dirt or anything in and out of the home. If they need to go back out to the van, they can slip them off, run over to the van, get what they need to get, come back and put them back on. And especially with this COVID going around right now, that would show the homeowner that they were here to help protect us with the outside elements and they would take whatever precautions necessary. I am a manager of field consultants and we try to do everything we can to keep the customer fully aware and safe at all times.

I got referred to ADT by Spectrum. The ADT representatives on the telephone were terrible when I booked it. I never got an email confirmation. It was absurd. The technician was coming on the day. The actual online thing was really bad and the customer service is terrible. During the installation, the guys who came were amazing. They did an amazing job. They also mentioned that I paid $100 booking fee, but I'm gonna get that refunded in the credit card as well. I haven't seen that yet. We’re having a couple of issues with the installation but I’m talking to the technician, so there's no problem. The system is really good. I'd recommend the equipment, but the customer service is a 0.

I had ADT years and years ago when I had my own house in Detroit. The familiarity of knowing about them made me consider them. They're very helpful and very courteous. They're very knowledgeable too. They worked their best to give me the best deal they could. The guy showed me everything and I'm able to function with the alarm correctly. He did a really good job and it didn't take a whole lot of time to install it. Everything works so I'm satisfied.
There is a thing that is different that they didn't have before or maybe I didn't use it before. If you walk out and forget, you can engage the system when you get to your car. When you come back in, you could do the same thing. If you have groceries, you might be trying to put your groceries down and close the door and all that. You can already disengage the alarm to make things quicker for you. I like to do that.
I feel secure having ADT on every door and every window. I've tested them, opened up the windows when I was at home and they will tell you which window is open. The other day, my daughter by mistake did the alarm and I was trying to sleep. When I got up to go to the bathroom, it said there was activity in the hallway and they called me. It worked really well. At least I know I'm paying for something's that's working. ADT is a good company. I'm very satisfied with the service that was given. They stand out. I'm a single woman so I need as much security as I can. I wanna feel secure and that's another reason why I got it too. I've referred my daughter to call them because she just bought a home.

The tech was cool and polite. He had on his mask and kept it on while he was inside my house. I enjoy the camera, where I can see the inside and the outside. The only thing that I don't like to do is set my alarm with my phone because I forget about it sometimes. So I asked for the little keychains. But I didn't get everything that I was supposed to get. I was supposed to also get the doorbell and the keyring. The tech explained to me that since I never did have a doorbell, I couldn't get the ring. So I had to pay for three cameras and I didn't get the keyring.
Hello Lakeisha - We are sorry to hear of this and any frustrations you've endured. We have reviewed your contract and don't see the key fob (keychain remote) on the original order. I had an idea of what I wanted but the sales rep asked me on how many windows I have in the home, how many doors and how many of this, this and this. They were gonna charge me 100 bucks and someone would come out. So, when I told them I wanted the price shopped, the lady I was on the phone with put me on hold to see if there were additional discounts. And then, her manager hopped on the phone and put me in another high-pressure sales situation trying to get me to say yes. They have to try to drum up business but I specifically asked them not to put me in that high-pressure sales situation. I wasn't a big fan of that. But ultimately, I still had the ADT system installed.
The installation was great and the guy who came out was very clear with me on all of the areas of the home that he thought we should protect and what was the best recommended device for it. If I had gone with what the people on the phone had said, they were saying I needed glass breaks because I had a dog. But the tech said that if my dog barks, he could set those glass breaks off. So, it was probably not the best bet. He was very professional, knowledgeable and he did a fantastic job installing everything in my home. I would totally recommend the in-home service to anybody but for that call center service, we're basically at the opposite end of that.

I live in a little small town and I had been thinking about getting a security system ever since my husband passed away last year. My son-in-law's mother and father have ADT. They're retired and when they go on their vacation, they really like the system because they can check their home while they're gone. Plus, I've heard good things about ADT, and I want the protection and you kinda listen to what the reviews are. So I also went with ADT. The installer did a great job. I like the security that I have. If the kids walk out the door, it tells me which door they're going out. I also have the camera. If I'm gone and I wanna leave it on, I can see what's going on in the room I have it in. This morning, I stumbled out of bed and let my dog out and I forgot to turn the alarm system off, and it let me know. So I quickly got it off.

I did some research and I've seen that ADT was at the top of the industry. I've also heard of them, so I felt comfortable going with them. I called them and then the rep said that I would get a certain amount in security equipment and they would send a technician out. They also told me the monthly price and I was a little bit surprised with the total price of the security equipment when the technician was here. It was a little bit of pressure to just go for whatever they said. There was a little bit on comfort there, but not in a sense of the technicians and how they went about it. They should be more informative upfront and say that the 24.99 a month is just for the basic package and they still need to communicate the equipment.
I was expecting around $28.99 but now I'm paying $60 a month. Then my total security equipment was around $2,400, which requires four months installment. Learning that when the technician was at my house was very frustrating because there's a lot of other costs involved of me coming in this house. He also wanted the first payment when he came out. If I would’ve known that, I would have waited a few weeks versus the technician coming in the day after I moved in. It almost seemed like I had to do the $60 a month and that I didn't have any other options. I didn't fully know the options and the pricing. But the technician walked through the system fine. I didn't even have Wi-Fi at first so he came back after I got the Wi-Fi installed. I was really appreciative of that. Overall, I was happy.

The sales team wasn't very overbearing so that was good. The install team was good at cleaning up after themselves. They were very professional and the installation was pretty quick for the amount of cameras they had to install. This house that we bought had Vivint cameras. They replaced those and made the wiring look better. I like how easy it is to utilize the app, connect to the cameras and turn on and off the alarm even when I'm not at home. One thing I did like about Vivint that ADT doesn't have is the ability to look through all the cameras on the touchpad. If there's one thing to improve, that's it.

If somebody was smart, they could break through this window, which is not covered because it would be 60 more dollars. But it is what it is and I'm happy with what I did. My wife and I travel back and forth. When she's at the house and I'm not there, it does give me peace of mind that she’s got an alarm system on. As a rookie, we're still getting used to the system. When I spoke to the original people that offered the system of ADT once I started to look around for security systems, ADT seemed like they were offering a large amount of equipment for free as a part of it. ADT has been around for a long time. Knowing that they connect directly through their system to the fire and police is important. As long as they continue to talk about that and a lot of times they've been doing it, it’s a valued asset.
However, when they were setting me up, it took quite a long time. It could have been a little bit more quick and efficient than it was. It took a good 20 minutes to finally go through all the verbiage and exactly what the cost might be and the equipment. They really couldn't tell me what system that I would have to use, which I figured, since I don’t have the cameras and the multiple information of going through the security system, both for fire and everything else, that I'd probably wind up spending a larger amount monthly, which is the case. So, they could have done a little bit of a better job of explaining that.

ADT called me directly. We had been thinking of getting a home monitoring system of some kind, but we didn't know what. When they called to tell me about the system and how much it would cost, it sounded like it was reasonable. It's $27 a month. But then when the representative who installed it came out, he was giving us at least $60 a month, and it's really my daughter who's the one paying for it. So, that was too much. Then all the perks that we thought we were gonna get kinda went away.
ADT should be honest about what a customer is getting. They should have told us that we're getting the minimum, that we're not getting any monitors, we're just getting the window things. They should say that when they call you, and then be honest also about how much the equipment actually costs. On the phone, they were saying we were getting $1,800 credit, but the system was gonna cost $4,000. It's really misleading how they get in the home. Then, we were under the impression that somebody was just gonna come and talk to us. The representative was very nice, but it was like, "You do it now or the perks go away." The person that came out was very good, but there was a communication gap between all three companies that work together to get this sold to the customer.

Back then, you used to be able to turn your system on and off remotely from your telephone as you couldn't do it online then. Now, you have to upgrade so much to get that service. It used to be when you used to pay for maintenance, you would get that feature included. That's the only disappointment that I have. You're not able to arm or disarm your system when you're away from the home unless you pay for a higher level of service. Other than that, everything works as advertised. We have the sensors and we use the app. However, I emailed ADT because there were two issues. Right now, we're getting billed monthly, but we would rather pay for that outright for the year. I would much rather just pay that every October or November. If we paid 700 bucks, it's done. It's over with. I don't see it every month.
The guy who came was really wonderful. He installed the whole system and in the basement, one of our sensors already needed a new battery. We thought, “Well, that's odd. Why would we need a new battery?” We got a little alert on the phone that said, “Hey, your battery is low.” And it didn't tell us which window, so we had no idea which one it was. We went around and looked at it. I called them yesterday, but it was a 30-minute wait. I'm satisfied with the system, but would I recommend it to someone? No, because we don't need it.

I haven't been happy about ADT. When they put the things in, that was fine. However, I did not like that the person who installed said that I couldn't touch the pad and that he signed my name for me, which was not right. It doesn't look like my signature at all. He said that's the way that they're doing it. The contract thing was sent to me by email. It wasn't completed yet until after the system was put in. Then I saw something that was on there that I should not have been charged for because that was not put in my house. I called immediately and spoke to the company that puts it in. I found that there are two separate companies. This woman on the phone put me on hold and called out to the installer who then said, "You're right. I didn't put that in there. I'll take that out." They haven't taken it out. I had to call and call to finally get to somebody because the number on the business card that I was given wasn't going through.
When I finally got to them, one lady was very rude. Another man was very rude too. I kept saying, "I need a new contract. Those need to be removed." He said, "We're never gonna remove them. We'll reimburse you after we have someone come from the company to check out the installment, all the stuff. And then we will remove it if we find it's not there."
I'm going through all this. Then I have to wait and be here the whole day waiting for them to come. The man who came was very nice and very professional. He told me, "You're right. It isn't here." However, that still has not been removed from the bill. Getting ahold of someone to get that information hasn't been good. Then finally, I ended up again with the person who I was having a lot of trouble with and he insisted they will never take that off the bill. He said I need to quit asking for that and that I need to quit asking for a new contract that doesn't have that on it because that's never gonna happen.
However, we knew it was the truth from the get-go. I called in to say that and they agreed that it was. The person who installed the system agreed that it was. It's just that they never took a further step. So now, I'm still here. It still has not been taken off and returned to me, and I was debating because the latest person who came said I could call and ask for an upgrade above because the person who was giving me such a hard time was his manager. I can go above that and say, "I need to file this." He said, "You should get a new contract. They always give new contracts."
I'm getting these mixed messages from one person to the other. One was not so nice. I do not have the new contract I should have. I did get to make a sort of signature with the last person who was here. However, it's not on the contract. It was only for him coming and having been here and done the work to show that those things that I was charged for were not here. The security system works, however, the process when I hit any error is not working.

I wanted to secure my house and people say it's a good option with ADT but this is the worst company in the world. All they gave me was one glass break detector and two door sensors. And the glass detector would go off every single time I close the door. Never sign the contract with ADT because whenever the installer goes to your house, they're gonna involve you in the contract and if you don't call within the three days they give you, they would never cancel the contract and you are stuck with it for 36 months. I called a day after the three days they gave and they never canceled my contract. They told me there's nothing they can do until after three years.

ADT is the first home security system I've had that's subscribed to a call center. The sales rep and the technician was the same person. I was told that he would be here between eight and nine o'clock. He drove about an hour to get here and he was here at 8:02. He did very good. He had to mount my keypad. I specifically wanted wireless cameras and he said all he had were wired cameras and they were very expensive. So, I opted not to get them and just got the monitoring system. The next day, ADT blue cameras popped up online. They're a wireless camera system that ADT offers. So that was strange.
Just looking at the prices for the ADT blue system, the cameras are expensive. There's a ton of camera systems out there now and all their cameras are probably $50 a piece. They're good indoor-outdoor cameras and ADT cameras are about 200 bucks a piece, even for the wireless and wired ones. But the yard sign is always a good feature. People see the yard sign and they get scared. Also, I like the app. I'm a full-time paramedic at two separate departments and I work 24-hour shifts. So, I'm away from home for a quite bit at night. Being at home, I want a little extra added security. My wife set it off the morning after I got it installed. The next morning at five o'clock, ADT called and said that the police were already en route to my house. They asked if I wish for them to continue and I asked if the alarm has been accidentally set off. The system works and I'm very satisfied so far.

My grandson got ADT, and then I just checked into it from there. It's well known and it has been serving for so many years. We just got it the 1st of October, but it's working well. I thought the camera was in the package, but then when the young man came, he said it wasn't. Other than that, I've been telling everyone about ADT and that I feel safer having it. It's a good system.

There were a lot of good things about ADT. It's the best camera I've had in my lifetime. I enjoy that I can hear voices. The quality is really good. However I had a few issues. The first time the installer came out, everything was fine. He was very nice and accommodating. He showed me how to do everything. But I didn't realize that once the lights go out, I wouldn't be able to see outside the window with the camera inside my home. It really wasn't the installer's fault, but I was a little frustrated because I had to wait for almost three weeks just for them to come back and put one camera, which was the most important camera because it was in the front of my house. They did not give the right information to whoever was coming back out because they didn't even know that they needed to bring a camera.
I had to wait too long. The priority for existing clients is not there. As a new customer, if I call today and say I wanna add a new service, ADT is literally out the next day. That should go for any existing clients as well. They said they were gonna prorate it, but nobody ever called me back. I don't even know if it's gonna be prorated. But at this point, I'm just happy that all my cameras are working fine.

The reps of ADT were well capable, the salesperson and the installer. I was really positive about the experience that I had here. Everything has been really good in the period test. We have one week of having this and it has been working really well. We have been learning to use this. We feel more secure since having it.

As far as the techniques or the way the ADT sales and all this stuff go, it's like a bait and switch. We got this call saying we could get this for 27 something then we gotta pay the $99 plus the tax which was no problem. But once the guy got here and we were looking at everything that was on the card, he didn't say that we had to pay 299 for the little camera that they offered after installation. Then they were talking about the thing that goes in the room and that's another 299. They went around and counted windows and said that these are how many windows is gonna be.
At one time, they actually tried to talk me into spending $1,084 a month for the next three months, which at that time, I told them no. The guy that came in installed the system and had a nice attitude, but after a while, with the way he was talking to me, he was going back to being more money. Finally, we told him what we wanted, they made it sound like two remotes came with it, but only one comes with it. We ended up getting the scanners in the area so somebody coming two to three feet in the room would set the alarm off, plus they gotta get through the door for the alarm to come off. All the time we were talking that this is a good deal, we ended spending up 106 plus an additional $99.
When they sent their survey out, it had many questions and basically, it took 20 minutes. They asked a question about it and by the time I put all the stuff that I felt, and that I won't recommend them to anybody, the whole nine yards, all of a sudden, instead of being more than one question, it ended right there saying, "This is the end of the survey. Thank you." If I hadn't signed on the bottom line, I think it's like 36 months, they would be taking this stuff out of my house. They also promised the $100 Visa card and we ain't seeing anything.
The guy said that I gotta give them a debit card number and they would bill me in the next three days. I said no and told them that I wanna see a bill before I give them because the way we pay our bills is once we know what the monthly payment is gonna be, then we'll set it up. I called into the office and explained it to the girl. She said that it was no a problem. She'll change it from the way the guy had it set up to where they would send me a bill. I'm still waiting for it. I figured if they did it the 29th, and I guess the first month ain't over the 29th of this month so it should be coming pretty soon.

ADT's overall package sounded irresistible. I didn't see any company or packages that I liked better. I had a serviceman here and I told him that in theory, their arrangement was ideal for me. My layout was the three doors to my house were protected and there was a motion detector on my first floor. I had two outbuildings that I wanted motion detectors in. But when the installer came out, he threw me his pitch. If I went along with it and if I liked what he had to say, then we were gonna do the contract right there on the spot. I did that. I loved everything that was offered to me, in theory.
But it turned out that it was not gonna work out for my outbuildings. Those two spots were equally important as my house to get protected. I've got a lot of equipment in there. I noticed right away after installation last Monday that the motion detectors in the outbuildings weren't working. I called in for assistance and they sent a technician out today to take a look at it. That's when I got the news that there's nothing ADT can do to protect those outbuildings. The guy that was just here left 10 minutes ago. He talked to his manager and one other person, explaining the situation. He said he was gonna make notations on the service call on the record specifying exactly what happened.
Now, I'm in a quandary as to whether I should try to adapt to the notion that I'm only gonna get one-third of what I was expecting to get or just cancel the whole thing. I'm sure that I'll be totally reimbursed if I decide that the system's not gonna work for me, so that's not a concern. It's just that I'm very disappointed that it's not gonna work out for me. But I'm happy with everything I know about the company now and everything I know about the system. I'm very pleased with the whole deal. But whether or not I can accept the situation as it is, I'm still reeling from the bed notes.

Everybody from ADT was pretty good. The rep explained everything properly. But I requested for one thing and the guy that came upgraded me. I was so overwhelmed with the sales pitch and the whole thing and I just needed it done. I really didn't wanna be talked into being upgraded because at the time, moving into a new place was kind of scary. In situations like mine where I'm a single grandparent, caring for two grandchildren alone, I understand the safety end. But the budget end was extremely important so I might end up backing some of it off. I understand the upgrade and that they have to get the commission. But letting us know that they'd be here for us if we wanted to upgrade would've been better.

My parents have ADT. I grew up in a home with the ADT system and I always feel secure with ADT in the house. I like that there's an option to turn on the security system when you're in the house as well as when you're away. Just because I have dogs. I like that I can turn on my security system when I leave. The only negative experience that I've had so far, was when the guy installed our system, we had to call back two weeks later because we realized that if our alarm went off, no one was calling us. It wasn't installed properly. We had to do a whole test, which should have been done when it was first installed. I will recommend ADT, but they should make sure that the installation was done properly.

Porch.com referred me to ADT for security purposes. It has been around for years and I also have family members that also recommended them. The agent was great, very knowledgeable, informative and super patient with all my questions. The installation was fairly quick. As he was doing the installation, he would tell me what each thing was for. At the end of it, he showed me how to use the alarm system and how to disable and enable it while I was away. The system is working perfectly fine. It’s definitely meeting my needs.

A friend of a friend had it down in Georgia and said she really liked it. I had known about ADT, but knowing someone who had it liked it was kind of the kicker for me to get it. As far as the system, the door sensors are my favorite. I also really like the light module that it can turn on and off certain times a day, and that you can control that from the phone app. If I'm not home yet and it's dark, I could turn that light on from another place in town before I get home.
The installation was very smooth. It took a little longer than I thought, but it's definitely been worth it. The dude that came, Chris, was really nice and did a really good job explaining everything and all the different options. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me something just to sell me something. It was based on truly what would be best for my house and the setup, which was appreciated. It's been a really good process. Scheduling to come get it set up was easy. If you look online, it can be overwhelming, but having the person come and explain everything was really helpful. ADT is an easy system to use. I would definitely recommend it. It really has given me a sense of security. That's been a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I wouldn't wanna go back to not having a security system.

I like ADT's customer service on the phone. Their sales agent was very understanding. At first, I didn't agree with the pricing, and so he made phone calls to make sure I was happy, and he did all that he could. He quoted me for all of his recommendations, and then based on that, we talked through everything to see what I really needed versus not needed. Having this system gives me peace of mind when I'm home by myself. I would recommend them.

When we first moved to our previous home, we had ADT, and then we switched to another security company. Then whenever we were moving again, we got some information in the mail so we decided to try it again. The only thing that is not as easy as some of the other providers is like the doorbell camera, just being able to see it is almost a lot easier than logging in to ADT on my mobile. That's something we have to be able to do that. I don't know if I have to log on all the time. But I like that I'm able to control things with my phone. If I'm here, I have this security on and I have it where it doesn't go off because it has a stay option.

The installer did a good job. He was polite and he knew what he was doing. I was pleased. But the system went down the second day we had it on. The tech guy was just there at noon. He pulled the panel and there was a loose electrical connection. He tightened it up and everything was fine. I can use my phone to disarm or arm the system. I like that feature. One problem that ADT needs to address is the wait time when you're calling into support. When I called them, the wait time went beyond 10 minutes and I just hung up at about 15 minutes. They should look at their staffing in the call center. Other than that, I'm satisfied with ADT.

The two gentlemen were very respectful and very nice. They were very professional. We had some conversations about work and COVID. So the experience was really good. They were really good. I like how ADT is a full-time monitoring system. They were easy to work with. It was simple and quick. For the most part, it made things a little easier. The initial purchase was fairly easy. It was very one-on-one with the customer service through the call center. The tech they sent out was really good. He was very punctual and pretty on it. The only thing that bugs me is when I get a notification, it sends it three times. One from the app, one text, and one email. That's a bit overkill. I need to call and see if they can take some of that down a little bit because I don't need three notifications. But other than that, I don't have any issues with the system.
One thing that they were not very clear about when I purchased it is the upcharge on the equipment. They didn't make it clear to me that there would be a several hundred dollar charge to be made for the equipment on the day that it's installed. I thought it was $100 installation fee and then I'd be paying monthly after that. In total, if they had broken it up into the four months that they were gonna offer me for the upgraded system, it would've been $500 a month, and then the $50 service fee on top of it. If I was a little more aware of that, I would've either prepared for it or waited.
Hello Milo- Thank you for choosing us for security protection! We are so glad to hear that your experience was easy and enjoyable. We are so sorry to hear that the charges were not clarified with you. We will review this internally and take the opportunity to improve.
