    ADT's reps answered all the questions that I needed answered. They were the best fit for me with me being at my place with my daughter. When the installer came in, he asked me to give him a walkthrough of my home. I told him where my windows and my main doors were. He discussed my options for indoor and outdoor cameras. He also explained the doorbell camera to me and we discussed the placement of the different sensors. I had questions on finding the perfect place to put the main circuit board where I will put in a code and he helped me understand where to put that. He also told me how to take equipment off my walls and doors if I need to move them around.

    I would appreciate it if the reps were more detailed of how the payment system goes. I didn't know that I was paying the installation guy for the package. I thought that was included in the payment I made over the phone. It's just better to know because I'm on a budget. What I know I need to pay, I need to put it to the side. Luckily, I had the money for the guy for the package I got. Other than that, ADT's installer was very specific, gave me what I asked for, and was able to let me know what I want to do if I want to upgrade anything or add anything else in the future. It was pretty good. I was very satisfied.

    The installer who came out was great and talked to us about everything. We also chit-chatted at the very beginning about where we came from and why we decided to move to Kentucky. Then he said that he was going to take a look at the house and see what he would recommend. He showed us the equipment and gave us options. He was very knowledgeable and very quick. Other than that, I like the seven-day introduction period where you could get familiar with the equipment and how to alarm it then take it off.

    The guy installed the services and showed me to the system and how to operate it. I was satisfied with the service I received except that one of the sensors fell off the window. Somebody would be out here tomorrow to fix it. I'm more comfortable with the ADT system being here.

    The ADT sales rep convinced me to go ahead and give ADT a try. He was very informative and our conversation went well. We have a claim in now when the guy who came and installed the system broke a few things. We're still waiting on ADT to settle the claim for the damages. They also had to send somebody out the next day to finish up the job because he installed something improperly. His supervisor had to come out on the next day. As far as the system, everything is working properly.

    The installer who came to do all of the installation was fantastic. If I can give him any props for a promotion or bonus, that'd be great. I had a really great experience with him. He had a lot of knowledge about how all the stuff fits together. He had a lot of different options to protect my home as far as what components got installed and what didn't, or the different options for being able to cover different sections of the house. Whenever we had an issue with one of the sensors falling off with one of the pillars, he came out afterwards and corrected the problem really quickly.

    I didn't know the pricing of security systems in general. I originally expected the price to be much lower than it was. Mostly because I was expecting the price to be not necessarily comparable to the equipment credit. I was expecting my credit to be at least a quarter of the cost. But I understand that what ADT put into the system is gonna drive the cost up. The system seems to be working out pretty well for me. The installation and ease of use was pretty good. The app for arming and disarming the system is really nice. It's a little bit hard to interface with, but it makes entering and leaving a lot easier. Because if I forget to arm it, I can arm it whenever I'm not near the house.

    I was calling about internet. Frontier told me about an awesome deal ADT had at the time. They patched me through to ADT, and that's why I'm with them. The installer was very nice. From the point he got in, he was respectful of the home and anything that I asked him to be careful of, he was. He went around the house to make sure all points were covered, and he always asked me before doing anything, like if I wanted something installed or not. Also, he went over the price of everything. He worked with me on getting a good price on all the equipment that I got.

    I've been enjoying being able to do everything from my phone. There are some doors that I want left open. Whenever I secured, I can leave them open. I also enjoy being able to put multiple codes on the machine. It’s not just one safe code. My wife could have one too she can remember.     I got my security system for a couple of reasons. One is our next door neighbor is going through a bitter divorce and she's kind of afraid of her soon to be ex-husband. She has a security system but she doesn't have a camera. And just to make sure things don't spill onto our side, we wanted a camera system. Another reason is with the way the world is getting lately, I thought it was about time.

    I did the research and ADT was in the top five. I sent an email out to everybody saying I wanted the quotes and ADT was the first one that came back to me. We set up the appointment. When installation day came, I got a very personable guy. He was very good at what he did and he explained everything he did. I really liked his service. The biggest feature I enjoy is that I can control the system from my phone. The installer said the best idea is to leave the panel alone and do it from my phone. But when I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is to let the dogs out. Sometimes I forget to disarm the thing and I'll open the door. All of a sudden, there goes “Beep beep beep.” I have 60 seconds to go over there and put the code in.

    The phone conversation I had with the young lady made me want the ADT system and Matt, the rep from ADT, was very nice, explained everything and was very knowledgeable. But when he got here, it seemed like the prices changed. I wouldn't get what I thought I was getting and I ended up having to pay for what I thought I didn't have to pay for. So, I didn't like that part of it. It was misleading and I started not to go with it because of that. But I went ahead and had the system installed because I wanted the protection for my mom. She and my uncle, who is 83, live in the house alone. I want to be able to look in on them because even though she's 85, she's still mobile and she's not ready to leave her home.

    I was under the impression that all the little things that go on the windows would be installed free. So, I went with the inside camera instead of the doorbell camera, and then detection for the carbon, and the alarms. When I was looking in Home Depot, I could’ve got those done a little bit cheaper had I just exchanged them out myself. I didn't get anything and I could’ve gone with another company that was offering a lot more things for free. I got to deal with this for the next two years. So, it is what it is. I like ADT but I wasn’t satisfied once we sat down.

    I've always had a ADT system in my previous home so I also got the service in my new home. I felt comfortable with the system. It was easy to use and the prices were good. It was affordable. The technician really did a thorough examination of my house to where we should have the system placed. I really appreciated that because we just moved into the house and he was thinking of things that we weren't even thinking of. So I appreciated his knowledge of safety, in terms of trying to place the system in the house. I'm very satisfied.

    The system has great features. I like the camera. I like the fact that the camera was placed inside the house. Because if it was outside the house, someone could tamper with it. If someone was to break into the home, then the camera would not be the first thing they saw. So if somebody were to break into the house, we would be able to capture them.

    I like the value of ADT's product and the reviews. I went online and got customer reviews, customer complaints and scores for the company. Their sales agent was good, very knowledgeable of the product and of the company's look onto the product. He had good ideas and quite a bit of information. He went through the house very well, and checked to make sure everything I wanted covered was covered.

    I like the features in my system quite a bit. If we'd had better internet connection where we live at, I’d probably went with another doorbell on the back of our house. But where we live, it's kinda very rural in the area. The internet comes and goes. Overall, I liked everything. It's a member of me reminding me to disarm my system before I come back home. It's easy to arm and unarm. So far, so good. Due to the system, I sleep better at night because I'm not listening for noises all night long.

    ADT had better reviews than any other company and I trusted their professional installation rather than doing it my own. The installer I had did a good job. I’m pretty satisfied with my system although I wish I had some other stuff. I really like the doorbell camera. It notifies me on my phone whenever someone rings the doorbell. It records it automatically and saves it on the cloud, which is nice. I also like the fact that ADT's encryption on the camera is a lot harder to hack than other cameras, at least that was what the installer said. We’re the only ones that could see the video footage. With ADT, I feel very comfortable and safe in my home.

    I have a security system that I had turned off at one time and never got it turned back on. Crime rates started to go up a little bit. I had it turned back on so that if I started doing some traveling and going somewhere, I wanna make sure I'm protected. Because it's ADT, the equipment is good. The installer was great. With what I'm paying, I don't see the extra cost involved. I just got the one camera, one door thing and I already had an alarm in. I just need more than one camera for the outside. I've got one for my doorbell and one camera that covers my driveway and some cars out there. But I need another camera to cover the back. I should have got a lot of credits because the sensors were already installed. I don't mind paying the money, but I just want a fair shake about everything.

    ADT advertised one thing, but when the installer came, it was a totally different story. At first, they have a $99 service fee, which is not mentioned anywhere. Once the guy got out here, he said I have to pay $299 plus tax. I already had paid $99 plus tax. I paid 400 and some dollars for him to come out here and hook up part of my own stuff.

    I was speaking to one person and then, when she was asking me for different amounts, she said that she would get her manager. She switched me off to someone else who supposedly offered me all these great deals and told me about what I needed to pay. The guy came out here and none of what I was told applied. They were trying to get me to pay upwards of $400, just to get basic packages that I was already told were included in my offer. So, I'm not happy about it at all.

    I was transferred over from AT&T, which does not offer Wi-Fi in my area. We don't have the regular cable company in this area either. All of that was discussed with ADT. My children have to go to school from home, so we have W-Fi here through a hotspot, which is not through our cell phone. It's a separate piece, so you could have multiple pieces attached to it. But they told me that they wouldn't install the cameras unless I had a hard-wired Wi-Fi here at the house. So, I am supposedly paying for a monthly amount and a monthly bill that includes the cameras that didn't even get put out here at all. That's a complete waste. I sat on the phone for over an hour between AT&T and ADT just trying to get everything set up, and then ADT came out here and the guys asked me for an astronomical amount.

    The cameras were the biggest reason we were getting the service, to see at the front door and the back door or the patio door when somebody comes to the door. I have glass break sensors on some areas and I have the sensors on the doors, but that's it. I was supposed to be getting carbon monoxide and fire equipment at no charge but I paid for the install fee upfront. I didn't get the remote keychain that goes with the service to arm and disarm or put up my garage and put down the garage. We got none of what we needed in the area where we live.

    ADT is more affordable than others and the rep was helpful. But I wanted to connect with my ecosystem and it doesn’t connect to my Google Home. It's advertised to work with it with the older Pulse app as opposed to the new Command app. I found out through calling customer service. They had no idea until I brought it to their attention and I spoke to someone in corporate about it. That was a big reason why I chose to go with it so for it to not have that, it was disappointing. But the installation was great and besides the Google Home, ADT is perfect. It’s easy to use.

    I had a promo through my home inspection company. I got more money off the system so I went with ADT. The system is good but the sales rep made it seem like I was gonna get a lot more than I did for the money. He made it seem like that would take care of all of my sensors on the doors, the windows and the garage door. The install guy came out, said it was the premium package and started taking stuff off. It still ended up being a couple thousand dollars. He didn't have the brackets to do the garage door but he did a good job. He spent a lot of time there. He had to do all the testing for all the sensors to make sure they all work which I appreciate. He had to call someone but there was no one in the office 'cause of the time of day it was.

    Somebody else told me about ADT. I looked it up, got lost on it and found my way back. But ADT is a name that everybody knows. I see the signs everywhere, and I had an experience with it one time. We walked up on a home. We were at the wrong place. People came running. A security guard came there, wanted to know what we were doing. They were there in probably two minutes from the time I put my face up against the glass to look inside there and wondering why the people were not here. Two armed guys, and, “Oh, okay.” They were playing close, but they were there.

    On the phone, it was almost too much because I had a lot of questions. And I didn’t write everything down. But the reps were very thorough and provided me with all kinds of discounts. They made it not only attractive, but also made it easy to sign up and get everything that I needed. And got me all the equipment right away, too.     ADT is everywhere. They were the first one that I called. I didn't even look around. They're great and very professional and I appreciate that about their business, but I am a little upset about a few things. The promotion that was advertised to me wasn't really correct. They told me that I had $800 worth of equipment. Meanwhile, I'm getting roughly 500 bucks for the next four months taken out for some reason, but it is what it is.     We just bought a house and everything that we got from ADT was free. It seemed pretty reasonable with the monthly charge. The key chain’s my favorite. It's easy. The only thing I didn't like was the guy kept trying to sell my husband things that we didn't ask for. It was very confusing for my husband because he wasn't sure what we had already gotten and what we hadn’t. I was out of town. We were told that we'd be able to have at least one camera with our package. Unfortunately, the guy could not set up any kind of cameras because we don't have Wi-Fi at that house yet. He said they would be able to come back later and do that.

    The installer left his phone number if I had any problems. But he would never respond to my call. I asked for somebody to come out and resolve my problems, but then ADT kept routing me to a different person. And then finally, I got someone who probably listened to what I was asking and the problem, and then they sent a guy out. I had to go on the internet and finally, they sent out a very capable gentleman who solved my problem. He checked my routers and told me my problem was with my carrier, AT&T.

    The main point about it is that there was no discussion about the efficiency of the system based on the type of internet carrier that you had. Everything was glorified about how you will get such excellent service. But no one really made a statement about, this is dependent on whether or not you got a 5G, 4G or 3G network. That would have made a critical point in my decision process knowing that.

    ADT's people knew that because the second guy came out and said, “Well, the problem is not with us,” which I expected him to say anyway. “It’s because you have AT&T, and you have a poor network.” So, I'm spending all this money now for equipment and a service that can't be at the peak of efficiency because I have a poor network.     Brandon came in to install the system and he was amazing. He was absolutely intentive. He was very informative. He was very personable, especially in the moment of having COVID, where we feel so disconnected as a people because we can't see each other's faces. There's so much going on with the world.     I was looking into alarm systems and I found ADT on Google. I filled out an information form and they called me. They gave me a good deal on equipment, so that was why I went with them. Our experience with their sales rep has been good. I contacted him because I'm having some issues with the equipment but I haven't heard back from him yet. I have some glass break sensors that are just super sensitive, and they'll go off if I shut my door. So, I don't know what's going on with that.     The guy from ADT told me about a $100 Visa gift card when he was making the sales pitch to me over the phone. When I agreed to the guy coming out to my house and installing it, he never mentioned if the installer was bringing the gift card or if it was being mailed to me. I assumed that he had all my information and knew everything about me and my bank, so he was gonna mail it to me but I haven't seen it. When the technician showed up, the free camera cost $200-something all of a sudden. He tried to explain to me that there's a big turnover and some of the salespeople don't know everything yet. I said that was hinky in my case and I asked what extras they were giving the veterans. He said all my equipment was free but I found out that everybody gets that deal. But the equipment seems to be fine and I probably could've gotten another feature.

    I am not too happy about ADT at the moment. I heard about them on an advertising of how it was supposed to be free and it wasn’t. When I first called, I was supposed to be getting a camera, window monitors, glass monitors and all kinds of stuff for free. All I got were three glass breaks, one window monitor and two door monitors. I tried to talk to the rep and I was told that it wasn’t free and that the people that I talked to when I called in didn't know what they were talking about. He said that it was all on the installation techs to deal with all of these. Then, he put me on the phone with his supervisor, and his supervisor said that they would have them re-trained. At the moment, the security system is not all that great. I'm dissatisfied with it. Also, the guy was friendly and respectful, but he was more interested in getting it installed and getting gone so they could get paid.

    The lady and her supervisor were fantastic. However, the information provided was inaccurate. We went over everything, and the equipment that was required for what I had discussed on the phone call ended up costing me $280, which I conceded to. After everything was installed, they said that the monthly charge was not what was agreed upon. After hours on the phone trying to get to a department that they told me to talk to, which was a three-day resolution, it never went through because the technician did not close out the install. So I had to try to track the technician the following day, and have them complete the install, and then call to the resolution team. They agreed to refund the equipment and give a credit on the account.

    The way everything was handled was shady. I told the people that I talked to on the phone whenever I scheduled it that I had tried calling several times and it was not a cooperative or kind call each of the times. But I tried it again and whenever they were so wonderful, I agreed to having someone come out. Knowing what I know now, I would've never switched from my previous provider and I would've just kept with them. But ADT put holes in my ceiling and holes in the wall, and they took off some of the other sensors that were there from my previous provider and put up the room. So the damage that would've had to have been done wasn't worth the aggravation of trying to go back to them.

The person I scheduled an appointment with and the person that came out and set it up did a good job.     Since this is my first home, I want it to be protected. I have an elderly father and sometimes, he likes to wander out the door. I would get the alerts that he's leaving out the door. Another service is up to par but it's not a real actual security system so that's the reason why I chose ADT. I've also heard it before and I’ve seen it around so much so I figured it's a very popular and good service.

    I was on Facebook and I’ve seen the ad pop-up. I pushed it to get a quote then someone called me. They had a promotion going on where you pay $99 and you get a $100 gift card. I set up the appointment for someone to come out. I asked the guy, "What if I didn't want it after they explained it to me? What do I do?" He said to just let them know. I gave him all my information and he was telling me he was gonna send me an email. Once I get the email, respond to it and I should be getting my gift card within two weeks. The guy who came out said it usually takes six to eight weeks. I guess they want you to keep the service for 30 days before they send you a gift card. I had called the other day to try to get a timeframe on when they were gonna send it out. The guy said it takes six to eight weeks. He doesn't know why the guy told me that he'd send it to me in two weeks when it actually takes six to eight weeks.

    I like the system. My dad likes to run in and out of the house and I constantly get the alerts when the door is opening and when it's closing. When the door is left open a long time, I like the fact that I get the alert and is on top of everything. When the windows are being opened, it lets me know too. I wish I got every window but we only got the back windows to try to stay into the package because I have to budget my financial. When the guy calculated everything with all the windows, it was almost $3,000. But I like the features. I got the chimes on the back windows and the front and back doors. I like the fact that I can use the app on my phone to arm and disarm the house. I don't even use the keypad. I just use my phone. Now I know when we're leaving, the house is more secure. I'm able to unlock the screen door and still be happy with just the front door being locked instead of the front door and the screen door being locked.

    My niece gave me a number and I dialed it. It's supposed to be some type of alarm company that she was telling me about that would have the camera and doorbell. But in the midst of me dialing it, ADT came on the line and there was a young lady who was very nice and sweet. I spoke with her for about 35 minutes and she told me about ADT - the monitors and different stuff. I told her that I live in a one-bedroom apartment and she told me that they will give me monitors. Also, I have two windows in my bedroom and two windows in my living room and she told me that they would cover that and there wasn’t any problem. She told me to make sure I tell the technician concerning the doorbell. But it was not explained to me that I would need an existing doorbell for all of that to work.

    The tech came on Saturday and he installed the system but I only got two windows covered. He was not able to do the bedroom windows so that was one incorrect information I got. I called back that Monday and Tuesday and I spoke with a young lady. She told me the information that I got wasn't right and she apologized for it. She told me that since I went through all that, they would make sure that I'm accommodated and see what they could do off my bill. She clicked me over to somebody else and all hell broke loose again.

    A guy came on the phone and he told me that he could do the camera and it would be 299. And he said that he would do it all and I could get it for $250. I told him that the previous rep told me I would be accommodated but there he was telling me all of those prices. I said I'm on disability and that I don't have that type of money. Then, I asked to speak to somebody concerning the $100 Visa card that the rep told me I was entitled to because I did the 214. A young lady come on the phone and told me that they have been told it would be three full months before I could receive that. I've been getting the runaround but I needed an alarm. Other than that, I'm okay with everything. I had a monitor that was down so low the technician had to come back out and do another monitor. I am satisfied with the monitor that I have.

    I’ve heard about ADT and SimpliSafe because they advertise on TV a whole lot. I said that I would try ADT and if they fulfill what they do well, with Pentagon and government as their customers, I'll stick with them. If not, there is SimpliSafe to switch to. We just started with ADT and the system is doing very well so far. We are out of town, so it is in use, which is even better. The installer did a great job. He had his mask on and he even wore some gloves while doing his work. He trained me on the features of the system and then, I trained my wife on it. It was very simple.

    ADT has had commercials on since I was little and they had a promotion that came in my mail. It said you get a free system and a $200 gift card.     The guy that came to install explained everything in detail. I was a previous ADT customer, but it's been years, so everything has changed. So he explained the process and each system, and I chose the one without the motion sensor. He made sure I received all my credits because I am a USAA member. He was very detailed with everything. He was good. But ADT's customer service is not good at all. I called yesterday and the rep irritated me so bad that I just hung up.

    My husband had a door open when I had set the alarm. So when we came back in the apartment, it showed like bypass on the keypad. But before, my husband and I would get notification, text messages, and emails when the door opened and closed. The only notification we get now is that the door is open. It's not showing the door opened or the door closed with the notifications. Then there was something on my panel that's saying “one disarmed chime” like something is off. There's a delay in the messaging coming through.

    This morning, my husband went out. It said the panel at 12:56 was armed "Away" when it showed the front door was open at 12:56. Usually, it will say, "Front door open," and then it'll send another message where the front door has closed. I went on my ADT control pad online and it looked like everything is set up. But I don't know what's tripping it. One of the issues we had this morning was it looked like the door was open, and then the alarm was set. It's weird. The time is not coinciding with the pad itself.

    The guy who came out was wonderful. We casually talked as he worked. He gave me his cell number and I called him back because we had a problem with one of the codes my son put in, and it was doing like a double panic. We had different codes for each member of the family and when my grandson put his in, it came up panic. So we got a police call and then we got a call from ADT. We got that straightened out the first of the week. All of that is fine, but I've talked to the guy since he installed everything, and everything's been wonderful. He was one of the nicest persons I've ever talked to that came to my house when I was trying to get something.

    I love the system. It is a real good system. ADT is one of the easiest systems you'll ever have as far as arm and disarm and being protected at night. I had a system that my brother and I put in years ago after I got broke into back in the mid 80s. It was a system that protected my house. We're all family that lives right around here and neighbors I've known all my life. So if the alarm went off, then I knew one of them would be checking on my home. But now that we got a lot more people moving in around, I don't know them and my previous system wasn't monitored. So I went with ADT.

    I don't like paying 52.99 a month. But at least I know that if it goes off now, the police would be here and ADT will contact me. I will know what's going on in my house. The guy set it up through my cellphone that I can arm it and disarm it even if I'm somewhere else. I've got two motion detectors on this system now. I can arm it and go to bed and I'm protected.     I had ADT when we first moved into our house in 2002. Then, we didn't use it much with the kids coming and going and so much going on. We just had a little bit of stuff going on in the area, so I wanted to get it hooked up again. The technician who came to install was very nice. He explained a lot to me. The service is a little higher than what I wanted to pay a month. I used to be paying 28 a month. I have the same services I have now. So, that kinda threw me a little bit. I wasn't prepared for that. I thought it was a lot more expensive than it was years ago when I first signed up.

    I did get a new regular keypad. I did not get an extra one in my room because it would have been more. I just got the key fob, and I got one more motion detector on the main floor. I need to fill out the paperwork to get my $100 kickback. The monthly service and tax are like $54 a month, so it's a little high. I definitely will be trying to beat them up to get that down because I just have regular monitoring service and it's a lot of money.

    I feel like I got ripped off and I'm not feeling too good about ADT. I was supposed to get a $125 Mastercard back. Then it was supposed to be so many windows and doors and I thought that was great. I called ADT and they told me I had to pay $108 for them to come out and do all this. I paid that, and then I had to put it off because we hadn't moved over there yet. They were nice about that. I made the appointment to meet over there and the guy met with my granddaughter as I am bedridden. He couldn't hook the system up for the 27.99 because I didn't have enough things that were supposed to be over there and no signal. But for the $60 package, he could get a good signal and hook it up. What happened to my internet during that time that didn't change? I just didn't understand. He was more like a circus barker, like somebody that pulls in and flimflams so fast that you would agree to anything to get him out of your door.

    When he did the doors and windows, somebody went over there and opened the window and it told us the back door was open. We called about that and they said it was something about the zone which I understood. It doesn't matter if they opened a window or a door, at least it showed us it opened something. Now the guy's gonna charge us twice as much as what it was supposed to be for less than what I was supposed to get on the 27.99. We didn't even get a camera. I'm a little ticked.

    We've had ADT about 20 years ago at our main home here in Pacifica and we've never had a problem other than my son pressing the button and setting the alarm off. When he arrived, he was very thorough in showing us what our options were. He tried to help us try to figure out how to use the cameras that ADT offers. We don't have WiFi but he was willing to investigate and see if there was any way that we could make it work. We weren't able to get the cameras but he gave us ideas on how we can get that done. That was very appreciative on our part. He was very cautious of not making a mess. He was very clean and organized in his delivery of the information he was giving us as well as when he went through all of the information after he was completed. He went step-by-step and showed us everything. He was really good.

    We're happy to have ADT. We like the feeling of security that if someone were to try to break in, the house is being taken care of. I do like the app too. That helps me know and feel comfortable that it's armed. I went this weekend and turned it off before I got into the house. That went really well. You don't have to run to the box.     I originally called ADT just to get pricing and figure out where I was budget-wise. The sales agent I spoke with sold me on the system instantly. The installers were good. When they got to my place though, I felt a hook, line, and sinker thing because I was hit with unexpected costs. The installation itself was free, but the cameras themselves weren't. That was the unexplained side of things, which I guess was tactically done. I wish I knew about that ahead of time because we wouldn't have moved on it when we did. It would have been something we would have done eventually but I was not ready to make that kind of commitment at that point. Other than that, I haven't had any issues with ADT.     I had ADT put door sensors and window sensors in my shop. The people could go in and out of my shop with the alarm on but it would never go off. Then my back camera doesn't even work.     I saw what was offered by ADT and I jumped on it because a girl friend said it was good. When the installer came out, he had to leave and come back because the system wasn't working, but he was fine. Still, I was going to call back in and find out if I truly got a good rate. I was told one thing when I called to set up the system, but then I was told that that wasn't available when the guy came out. I want to make sure that I wasn't given what he wanted me to have versus what I wanted because it was an upsell for him. I also think that I'm paying too much but I really haven't even learned how to use the system other than on my phone. I have a keypad but we hadn’t sat down and learned how to use it yet.

    Other than that, I was told that my friend would get a bonus for the referral and I told the guy who came out that she referred me, but he never got her name to do anything. Then, I was told that I would get a bill in the mail from my city because of the police, lights, and fire. I got an email but it wasn’t a bill. It was just saying something about a certificate. So, I feel like it wasn't explained completely to me what exactly was going to happen, and what I was told is not what's happening.

    The price that I was quoted on the phone was way different than the installer wanted to charge me after he had installed everything. So it was a huge bait and switch. ADT should have honored the quotation that they gave me when I first called them. I called them on two different phone calls and explained what was needed. After two hours on the phone between myself and the installer, calling ADT. I decided to go through with it because he had already installed the equipment and there was a refusal to patch the walls if they had to take it out. He had drilled in the walls and cut holes.

    I reached out to the people that I talked to several calls before. I was on the phone for two hours with them while the installer was there sitting at my kitchen table when he was on the phone with his supervisor. They were saying that if I didn’t want to pay, they were taking the equipment out and going home. I said that when they’re ready to patch the walls and they’re here, then they may take the equipment out. They’re not gonna take it out, walk out the door and I never see them again. They have already lied to me and if they were asking me to believe them, there was no credibility. We finally arrived at an agreement but I still had to pay more than they told me. I'm using the system now but I'll never recommend ADT to anyone ever in my entire life. They’re the worst. They are a company of lowest integrity that I may have ever dealt with.

    We had a home that had been outfitted with ADT equipment. We were familiar with ADT because we saw the hardware in the house and we just chose to never activate the service. We didn't think we were gonna be there for longer than three years, so we didn't wanna sign a contract. Then, we ended up staying there quite a bit longer than that and it was kind of always in the back of our minds that if we ever were to move into a new place or we found ourselves settling down a lot longer, ADT would be who we would go with because of the familiarity with it.

The main reason that I wanted a security system was to keep an eye on my shed because I have a very expensive motorcycle on there. But I didn't get what I wanted. I almost didn't get the system because the guy that was here said he couldn't mount the camera because of our internet, and ADT said they were giving me a camera.

    ADT is one of the top security system in the world but when a person can't get the equipment that he expected, it's kinda letting you down a little bit. We have to buy a new router. We've been quarantined since the day after we got the equipment done. We haven't really been able to go out and buy a new router. But I'm gonna buy a new router and get ahold of our internet company.     Everybody knows about ADT. It was good dealing with their rep. The system is pretty cool. We have the glass break detector and the magnet things on the doors and the fire alarm. I like how I can operate it from my phone when I leave. I usually just want to hop up in the truck, then hit arm on my phone. I usually do the Arm Stay ‘cause I have my dog at home. For what I got, the features were pretty good. There are some features coming in down the road that I like, but it's pretty expensive to upgrade the panel to be able to do it.     We were happy with the ADT service at our previous home. We just moved so we brought over the service. We set the system at night so we feel safer when we set it. We can arm and unarm it through the keypad and the little remote keychain that came part of the package. However, since they installed the camera, it would not work. When the guy left, it wasn't working. And he said, “Well, maybe it's your internet service.” So, we had Spectrum come out and take a look at our setup, and they said there was nothing wrong with it. It was probably something with the camera. So we're waiting on somebody to come and look at it for us.

    ADT's installation team was professional but my wife said they didn't clean up after themselves. They frustrated themselves 'cause nothing was working and they left in a hurry without doing things right. The panel is not connected to the WiFi and the side camera isn't working. Also, the five and six buttons on our door lock panel won't work. When we wanted to set up the password, we had to choose something that didn't have a five or six in it. Still, the equipment is great and it works well enough to be secure. We're happy with it and it gives us peace of mind. It's worth the money.

    My daughter who just bought a house went with ADT, and they did a presentation that was pretty good and she sold us on it. We switched from CPI but we're having some problems with ADT. After the person hooked up the system and left, the doorbell doesn't work. But everything was fine when he was here. He said it was a doorbell transformer, and then he said we have to go and get a doorbell transformer, have it hooked up, and then it will work. We have to do that rather than to try to reverse it and go to see the guy and go through all that stuff.

    They didn't tell us all the information upfront. When they got here, it was $99 for them coming out and $300 for activation. There were charges that we didn't know about. So that kinda put a dimmer on it. We've never seen the system work right. The camera doesn't work at all. I got a doorbell that doesn't work and there's a noise and a smell coming from the doorbell speaker which the tech said is a transformer. It's a hassle that we didn't see coming, in addition to the money they didn't tell us that we had to spend. This has been over a week ordeal. But I'm going to see now if I can get the part. If I have trouble getting the part, then I'll be calling ADT to see exactly how they wanna handle this.

    The services have been working fine, and I like the app on the phone. However, I didn't like the fact that ADT promoted that I will get a free camera and I didn't. I was sent an email with $880 worth of equipment and they had a camera in there. I asked the sales rep when he called, "Would a camera be included?" He looked up my package and said that I was gonna get one. I was looking forward to it. I told everybody that we were gonna get the Ring camera and that we were looking at how it worked. When the guy got here though, he said that it was gonna cost $300.

    If I wasn't gonna get a camera, that shouldn't have been even in the picture. When I talked to somebody, they said there were other customers who were complaining about that as well. Why do they keep doing that? That's false advertisement to get people to get the service. I have yet to receive the $100 Visa gift card too. Other than that, the guy who came had on his PPE, his shoe protector and his mask and he was good with explaining everything. That was appreciated.

    I was very surprised after my phone conversation with ADT before the installer did come out that it was not the deal that I thought it was. It was like make your own package. Now I owe $1,000 and I can pay 500 right now. I'm a little disappointed about that. The rep over the phone asked me how many doors and windows I had and the first package was 27.99. I almost didn't do it because I didn't wanna do the three-year contract. But she made it sound like it was much better than what I ended up with for $27. She also said I would get a teacher discount and it just sounded fine.

    The installer who came out said that I could add that for this much money. I probably would have not done it had he not been there for so long and we had been through so much 'cause we had a break-in. I ended up with the $53 plan because we needed the app on our phone because we'd be out of town a lot. We just wanted to make sure that we were able to access it. So, it didn't go as I had hoped.

    I had been texting the installer for two weeks because I couldn't get into my ADT account. Finally, I ended up with a chat person on the phone. Now, he did text me back and said that he'd try to look into it or call ADT. And I would text him a day or two later and say that I still couldn't get in with my account number. The guy gave me an account number but it wasn't my account number. I found out that he had actually put my email in wrong while he was there at the house.

    When I got on MyADT with the chat person, he was helpful. I was able to see that the primary number was supposed to be my son who lives in the house. I was the primary contact instead and he was the secondary after the police are dispatched. So I changed that. When I told the installer our safeword, he repeated the word and he looked confused and put in the incorrect word. So I had to change that. I got it all fixed yesterday and then I text the installer and said that I had got it all fixed, and I didn't hear from him.

    We were living overseas for six years and we were renting out our property. We just returned and moved back to our house.     I had ADT in my house from when I purchased my house. But I hadn't used it 'cause my father used to live in the house. He wouldn't get it straight, so I stopped. I saw the commercial of ADT on the TV and I had been saying I wanted to do it because since then my father's passed, it's just me and my husband. Sometimes, he works late.

    The sales rep of ADT was good. But there was a misunderstanding. I wanna be able to, if I needed to open my door for somebody, do it from my system. He was like, "Yes." I even told him that I have a keypad on my door. I asked, "Would it work?" He was like, "Sure." But then, he did it the same night he did the presentation, so it got late. Then, I thought about it later and I was like, "We didn't go over that." He was like, "You didn't get that. That was the cost." I was like, "We pay for additional stuff, so it's not about the cost." Now, I gotta take a picture of the door and I was like, "I'm very clear on what I wanted, so I don't understand where the misunderstanding came from." I was like, "You were right here." I thought it would be okay, considering we already have a keypad on there. If it was not capable, then I would've wanted to know before it kicks in.

    So far, the system is good. I'm just getting used to keep on getting texts when somebody is going in and out my door. But it's okay. One thing I don't like, he was saying I need to take something off. But for whatever reason, when we got our new door, they had the hardwires coming out of the door for the doorbell. 'Cause I told him that I was eventually gonna get alarm. So, it was already there. He was like, "That's good. It's already hardwired." He hooked it up to it. But every so often, it says that the battery is low. I was like, "How's it low when it's hardwired?" He was saying there's something in the system that it reboots and I didn't understand that part. But I would still refer ADT.

    I already had a security system from Ackerman, and I wasn't happy with them. I know the previous owner here had ADT, so I figured I'd give it a try. We got everything set up pretty well. The installers were very professional and very nice about everything. So far, I'm pretty happy with the customer service. Pretty much they answered everything, but Ackerman was the same way in the beginning. Because it is the honeymoon phase, I should have a little caution. As far as the equipment, the keypad is a little easier to understand. With Ackerman, I didn't really get any training on the keypad. But the technician from ADT showed me the keypad and how everything works when they installed the keypad here. I wish they had done what I originally called for, and that was to hook up my cameras that I already had. They said they couldn't connect those, so that's fine.

    Keith, the sales rep, was very nice. But we scheduled for Thursday in the morning at 11 o'clock and he never showed up till 5 o'clock. I waited for him all this time. I finally had to call over there and he told me that he was gonna be here in the afternoon. I went to the grocery store and I had to rush to come back because he got there at five o'clock. But other than that, he was fine. He started getting everything done. I told him that I wanted to put a doorbell in it and he said that I didn't need a doorbell. So, I went with whatever he said. His partner showed me how the features work.

    When I went online to look at security, ADT was the first one that called me, and that meant they let me know they cared. They were awesome. The technician was really good. I told him what I wanted and then he gave me two different options on security, and we went with the second one. He explained everything what he was gonna do and walked me through the house. He explained everything to a tee.

    They give you two seconds to call somebody if the alarm goes off, which I'm gonna have to call them and switch the phone numbers. My phone number is first on the list and because my mom is home every day, I'm gonna have to switch and put her phone number first so they call her first. I had no chance when the alarm went off one day to call her and they were calling me. I was at work and when I asked them to call her, I didn't like them telling me to call her. They should've never done that. They should have called her just in case. Because they can set up the alarm a lot faster than I can. Also, I am having a problem with my video. But I went online and saw that I need to unplug it.

    I had ADT in the past, and I just wanted to get it in my house again. It was a $99 charge to have them come out. When they came out, I thought we were gonna go through and get an estimate. Then the fellow said he could just install it there. I said, "Fine." I didn't realize he wasn't an ADT personnel. He wore an ADT shirt, but he worked for some franchise. He installed it. He couldn't get one of the systems to work with the front doorbell. The video doesn't work, but the doorbell works. He also had to use an extender in the house, which I was not sure why I had to because I have Google network which is giving Wi-Fi throughout the whole house. I have three points, plus the router point. He couldn't get the bell to work.

    I got called by a customer service person at the end of the day, and she asked me if they'd finished. I said they hadn't finished and that he’d said he was coming back to finish because he couldn't get the doorbell to ring and the doorbell camera to work. I waited all week, but nobody showed up. I called Saturday. It was seven days. Then yesterday, the camera for the backyard wouldn't respond. So, now I have two cameras that I paid for that don't work. I'm a little frustrated at this point.

    The guy who came out said he was a technician, but he was doing the sales. I informed him before he even got here that our cable carrier is Spectrum and Google Wi-Fi. I'd asked if that was gonna be a problem, and it became a problem. I would like the technicians to get better training. It seemed like he didn't really know. He tried two separate devices, and they would not sync with the rest of the system. I find that kind of weird. Then my whole system was wonky after he put that extender in there. Then he had to change my Google password because, for some reason, it didn't mesh that it had characters in it.

    I still have the system that I paid for. Two cameras don't work, so I really just want the system removed. I'd go with one of the other carriers, because it's ridiculous. They're saying I should have turned it in in three days. How could I do that when it wasn't finished. They were calling me. I said it was finished, and it was like they bullied me into saying it because it was finished to the extent that it was 5:30, and they were leaving. I didn't want them at my house any longer. They've been here since 8:00 in the morning. It was a good time for them to leave. I have put out $900 so far, and I have a system that I used for two days and it wasn't even completely installed. I was just using the door things and the back camera, and now it's even less usable because of that camera isn't working.

    So far, I love the service. I really love the technician ADT has sent. He was very professional and very good. However, I did have to call to get them to put in a property claims report. When they did the install of the actual keypad, I wasn't really satisfied with how he did cleaning it up. We just moved in and it's a new house. I put a lot of money into the kitchen and it doesn't look good.

    I'm still learning a little bit about the system. I'm kinda relieved, in a sense, but most a little nervous in another sense. We’re gonna stay. I was under the impression that the alarm would go off simultaneously if you opened a door but it gives you a chance to disarm the alarm which I'm fine with. My wife was cleaning down the doorknob ‘cause we had a few people over and she’s as nervous about COVID. We were able to disarm it fairly fast before it would go off.     I've known about ADT for years. I was a customer many years ago but on this particular time, I was talking to Cox Cable. After I set it with them, they transferred me over to set up with ADT. JD came for the installation and he sat down with me for quite a while. We went over all of the options which are numerous. We decided what was best for me and what I selected then he immediately installed everything. There was a lot to explain but he went through and showed us how everything worked and gave us our paperwork.     My initial reaction to the reps was good. However, I was a little confused because they told me how many products I get free. I didn't know. And I had to pay $100 initially. But it seemed I wasn't well informed about how much money I would pay out upfront. That's where the disconnect was. Because I thought, "Okay. I get the equipment and then I'm gonna pay this $52 a month." But when the installer put up everything, he told me I have to pay 387 for three months. I guess that's for the initial equipment. So I asked, "Well, what actually did I get that they told me was free?" I was a little unhappy with that disconnect. Otherwise, as far as the system goes, I'm okay.

    I really needed an alarm system because there have been a lot of break-ins and home invasions in my area. I would rather be alarmed first than just react and shoot somebody once they come in the house. I don't wanna do that. I like the fact ADT's price won't go up and it's locked in. And in the event that I have to move, they would move the whole system with me. The price wasn't bad either. Initially, when I talked to an agent on the phone when I was first interested, they went over everything.

    The only thing was I knew you gotta pay for the equipment somehow but that wasn't explained to me. After the system was installed, I was told, “This is what you'll be paying a month for installments of X amount till the equipment is paid off.” But even if that was explained to me initially, I probably wouldn’t have changed my mind because I needed a security system. I just thought they should have explained that part to me and I could have budgeted better. I had to tweak everything a little bit and it set me back a little bit. But I looked on the bright side of it. It's only four payments so I'll be done with it.

    I had two installers and they were very courteous and polite. One of them was in training but they did an exceptional job. They were very professional and they knew what they were doing. The job went pretty quickly and they cleaned up after themselves. I had my mask on and they had theirs on as well. It was a good experience.

    One of the guys explained the system features and I should have paid closer attention. I was in a hurry and I needed to get to work. They were getting kinda nervous with me. But it was okay. He wasn't tensed but they knew I had to leave, so they explained things really quickly. I told him to go and set everything off because he said every car that goes by was gonna alert me. I did go back and I was able to figure out how to reset the doorbell where it would alert me if somebody hits the doorbell. But for the most part, the whole going through the app was pretty much self-explanatory. It's easy to follow and understand. But I'll have to go back and go through some of the features again. I tried to set the system for a certain scene, like Arm Away but it just beeps all crazy like the alarm went off. I had to shut it off and leave it on Arm Stay even when I left. I have to figure that one out.

    Other than that, I like the whole set-up. I didn't get everything but I kind of got one that's according to my budget. I don’t have any sensors inside but I got the doorbell with the camera, one camera in the back, and sensors on every window and door. I have the app on my phone as well. If I have my hands full, I can disarm the system from my truck and bring the groceries in. I've just started with ADT and so far, it's been going pretty good.

    ADT's installer knew what he was doing and was very cordial and nice. However, the reps told me that he would show up in an ADT truck but then he came in a personal vehicle. Still, he was dressed appropriately. I have changed over from Vivint to ADT because I wasn't getting really good service. I also had false alarms going off in the middle of the night. But now, my doorbell is not ringing inside the house. Plus, I can't open the garage door with the app. I didn't realize that none of those things were gonna work. I thought I was getting the same thing that I had with Vivint. My system is a lot less than what I had before.     ADT is probably one of the best ones out there and I didn't want to do the installation myself so I went with them. I was told I was gonna get the door and window alarms then a camera. That was all I wanted. But it ended up that it was gonna cost me $139 for a window alarm. I almost didn't get it. One person says one thing, but another person says it changes. I got irritated about that. Communication failed then I got called a liar. That pissed me off. They should communicate together what the salesman tells you and what the actual guy comes out and puts stuff in does. But the system is working fine. My granddaughter opened it up when it was armed and the alarm went off.

    We've had some break ins in our neighborhood. So we were anxious to get a system installed. ADT has pretty good reputation. There were some specials that ADT was running but when we asked about specials or discounts, the rep said there weren't any. But as a matter of fact, we were responding to an offer, which was $850 worth of equipment. Also, we didn't get as much instruction as we needed on how to use some of the equipment and features.

    We're disappointed that in the event that the camera records, it takes a long period of time for that message to come to us. It might be because we live up in the mountains and Wi-Fi is not as strong as it could be. I don't know what the issue is. We are going to contact our Wi-Fi provider and see if there's something that they could maybe do to increase the signal strength in case that is what's causing it. But sometimes, it can be minutes to an hour before we get the message on our phone that there's been some type of recorded event on the camera.

    We heard about ADT through AT&T. We did a promotion and everything was great with the sales agent. They then came and installed, but I had AT&T scheduled shortly before to put in the internet. We just moved in to a new home, so they were gonna do a switch. When the ADT guy came out to install, he said, "Well, in this area, they don't have fiber optics. So, not everything is gonna work with the system that you're purchasing through ADT." We ended up cancelling AT&T and switching to Suddenlink. The ADT guy installed whatever he could and said he'd come back and finish whenever I had internet. When he came back to install, the Suddenlink guy said they can't go up in attics. We had to wait for someone else then.

    It's been almost a month since we started and things have gone back and forth. The system is not finished being installed, and the ADT guy told me he'd come today to continue, but I haven't heard from him. Still, ADT has been a great company. There's communication, especially this guy who's going out of his way. I felt like it's been so annoying for him too, but then he gave me his personal number and said when we get all the internet stuff finalized, he would come and finish whatever we needed finished.

    Things went well when my ADT system was installed. The tech got the job done and made sure that I got what I wanted done right. ADT came back to my place to install a touchscreen monitor and reprogram it. However, they forgot to reprogram the fire alarm. I spoke to their district manager and he said he would see if he could have a tech come over to get it done. I was gonna cancel ADT because Brinks was offering me everything I have with ADT plus cameras. The district manager talked to me and told me that ADT's equipment was better and how that was the case. He sealed the deal and made me stay.

    Getting ahold of the ADT service department is a joke. I called them and while I was on the phone, I went to the website. I was on hold on the chat room. After 36 minutes on the phone, somebody came on the chat line so I hung up the phone. From then on, it was transferring me from one to the other, five times and I got asked the same question, your name, address, telephone number, and security password. It was like nobody knew what the left hand was doing.

    The rep on the phone and the installer was very nice but it seems that nobody can really tell me anything other than it's got one key fob. But I didn't get that, and the signs. But they said that they are sending them. My contract shows one key fob, and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t being charged for it. None of them could tell me if it was actually in my contract. It was on the paperwork that the guy left signs and stuff, but he did not. Nobody can also tell me about my $100 Visa that I was supposed to get. It's on the paperwork, but when you call in and ask them, they don't see anything.

    I feel more relaxed through the night with the ADT system and I'm not getting up as much. But one of the sensors has come off my back door. I couldn't get it to stay on, even after talking to a guy who was telling me to do certain things. I finally got it to stay so right now I'm trying to not go out the backdoor much.

    It's always good to have some type of security. ADT had a promotion going on and so I got it. When the guy first came, he pulled out the whole tablet then he went over the things. He said that my balance was $2,000 something. I told him that I didn't have that and I wanted whatever they told me was free. He kept pulling and taking different equipment off. It got down to $800 and I said that I couldn't afford that either. It got down to 3 something and I said that I would put it on the credit card so they did that.

    I called back when my husband said he didn’t like the way it was stapled to the siding, and then just plugged in right there, somebody could come in from around the other side of the house and unplug it and they won’t even take them off. That was when I was explained that that $300 something I was charged was for activating the camera. I never knew I was told that so they credited me back and another guy came and got the camera. It's just that don’t think everything was explained the way it should have been.

    I was offered a couple of times to try to stay with the expensive package, but I couldn't afford it right now so I didn't feel pressured after I explained my situation. Then someone called me back to make sure I was satisfied and assured that I would get the credit. Everything was fine with that too. We are happy now. The guy was great and polite. So far, we just set the system when we leave and turn it off when we get home.

    After 18 years with ADT I cancelled my service in order to economize. I cancelled on 10/5/20 and was told I had to give 30 days notice and that I would receive a bill for a prorated amount. After listening politely to offer after offer of various sales pitches to sell me on continuing services, I said, "No thanks" and suggested if he wanted to thank me for my many years of service he could waive the month's prorate. He said he couldn't do that but offered me a 25% discount. My prorated bill came a couple of days ago and no sign of a 25% discount. So I called....a couple of transfers,,,,hold times totalling close to 30 minutes....you know the routine. Come to find out I had been lied to. The 25% discount had not been and would not be applied. I am far angrier now than I would have been if the offer had never been made. After talking to three different people, you'd have thought someone would be willing to make good on their employee's promises. Shame on them!

    I had ADT years ago then we disconnected it 'cause of financial reasons. Things are better now and with everything going on, we wanted to reactivate ADT. My wife and I saw the ad in my Yahoo account that I got. I called and we set it up. It's an easy home security with big savings. The home security system reactivation is 19.95 a month. There's free system activation plus three bonus offers. They sent me all the Visa rewards card I was supposed to get. There are free wireless door and window sensor. There's also bonus ADT indoor camera when you upgrade to video light. I'm paying 27.99 a month and I thought it was gonna include the Ring camera from when I talked to the salesperson. But when the installers came, they said, "No. That's an upgrade." He said I was gonna have almost like an iPad thing on the wall which is the keypad for the codes. But they put a button touch ones and it's probably better than having the screen. They were great.

    The gentleman from ADT that was here was amazing. We have a lot of windows and he had over 18 things to install, name, and download. I kept telling him to come back the next day but he wanted to make sure everything was done correctly. He was here until after 8 PM. I'm still figuring out the system because there are times when it tells me that there's a window open but it says that the alarm is set. Also, when I leave the house, it's supposed to remind me if I've locked it down or not and that hasn't happened. I don't know if I've traveled enough outside of the mile range that we put. And my husband just went on to hospice and I haven't gone through the book or anything to play around with it. Other than that, I feel safer in the house with my husband not being mobile.

    TECO gave me a referral to ADT. The guy that came initially was pretty thorough and very knowledgeable on the product, and then a second guy came. The only issue that we did have was that a sensor was placed in the wrong place. One was placed on a sliding door instead of a window. So, one of the windows needed to be covered and the door needed to come off. But when the second guy came out, he did it. He was in and out with no issues. Both of the guys who came out were very professional and timely. As far as cleaning up behind themselves, I didn't have any issues.

    I went with ADT based on name recognition and then my dealings with them in my profession. I went through a questionnaire and then they contacted me. It was quick and brief, but descriptive. Then they scheduled a salesperson to come out relatively shortly on my schedule. A few days later, he sat down and went through the whole system with me, and what I want and didn't want. He worked with me there and then had it all installed that day. So it went smoothly. It was quick and efficient, but I definitely felt like I had a lot of say in it.

    They need to be a little more forthcoming on how long the installation will take and make their customers aware that it could be longer than they're expecting for an installation. I had quite a few bells and whistles put in, so it took a little bit longer than I was expecting. Other than that, the system works well and it seems to be a good grade.     I know that ADT is top quality when it comes to home security. The technician explained how to use this system. However, I'm not satisfied with the features. Sometimes the motion cameras don't pick up where I need it to be picked up. Second of all, I paid out an additional $1,400 something for equipment on top of the $800 so my package was $2,200. The one thing we didn't get was the thermostat, which I thought we could be able to control through the app, in which the lady told me on the phone. But other than that, ADT is on point about everything. Equipment’s a little pricey, but we're getting good quality. I own equipment now. Overall, the service is good.

    There was a lot of misinformation on things that I simply did not know and I ended up getting some additional costs. It wasn't really explained to me what was going to be covered based on the ADT plan that I chose. I thought I was gonna get a pad and these doors and windows sensors and I didn't know it was on top. For the package being offered, there should at least be one camera so you can view what's going on in your house when you're not there. I have a keypad upstairs but I play the drums and I would probably spend the majority of my time upstairs. If I get an indication that something's going on downstairs, I would rather see who's gonna pop up the stairs or who's coming through the door. But it's like this whole other plan I gotta get, which costs a lot more money.

    Also, I had no idea the installation was gonna take 12 hours. The tech, John, came to my house a little after 8:00 and he left after 8:00. But he was very sweet and very nice. He explained everything to me and he hooked up everything nicely. I'm very happy with the service. I got my keypad, I can arm the system, and I can disarm it from anywhere, which is a great help, especially when I’m bringing in grocery. I enjoy it. It lets me know who's coming into the house and what door is open.

    The customer service of ADT was good, but I really didn't understand that I would have to put out money, and then have that time saved for me, because I wasn't really sure if I wanted the installation or not. So that was the bait and switch. Then they told me that I was gonna get $100 gift card from Visa and then they retracted that offer once I did the installation, because I didn't do a big installation. It wasn't really ever explained to me thoroughly. I was not even gonna get the installation, but they said, “If you didn't decide today, then you would have to pay again.” I was like, “Oh, that's not gonna happen.” So I didn't really care for that. It should be free estimates. It was like a hard sell thing.

    My system also doesn't work correctly. I called the technician, he has yet to return my phone call. I can't set the alarm to Away or to Stay and leave the house as the alarm goes off. Then the ADT pamphlet says that I have to email them within the first 90 days if I have an issue, which is ridiculous. You should be able to call. I am really not happy with ADT at all. I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

    Also, the technician that came out, he just talked about his family and talked about everything. I was like, “You're supposed to be professional. You're here to work on my house. I don't care about your family.” Great if you had a fire at your house, and you wanna equate stuff to that, but keep it to business. He's the technician that has yet to call me back, even though he was all flowery and said, “If you have a problem or an issue, I always give people my cell phone number. Here's my cell phone number.” He has not texted me, he has not called me and it's been over a week. Now I'm roped into this three-year contract, which is ridiculous because I didn't even get a grace period. ADT is monitored by people, that's the only reason why I went with them.

    We've seen ADT signs all the time and we recently moved, so there were stuff in the mail. There was not a lot of sales involved when we signed up and it was cut-and-dry because we said we wanted it. We just wanted to set up an appointment and find out about it. The installer did a very good job although the installation took longer than expected. We're an older couple and it was a late in the day appointment so we got overwhelmed. I'm a morning person. So, after dinner, things just quit working. We were under the impression it would take a couple of hours and the rep was here for six. He did a great job of cleaning up but it was too much. We got to the point where I was done thinking and trying to figure this out. There are things that we have questions on but it was a whirlwind of do this, and then he was gone. We looked at each other and asked what we were supposed to do.

    Overall, we're fine with it. There were a few small things such as the doorbell camera. We didn't have a doorbell so we didn't get one. My daughter happened to be visiting and they have a system that doesn't need it to do that so she was asking why we had to have a hardwired doorbell. We thought there was gonna be a motion sensor somewhere or a motion-activated light and that didn't happen. I want some follow-up to this. We have had trouble with it. We have intermittent cell service with the wall monitor. I called about it at night and it was a long wait. They told me how to reboot it and it took care of itself. Then, 10 minutes later, it was back. I haven't gone online to set up my ADTV too. We've got people coming and I was gonna be very busy. So, maybe it was bad timing on our part. There are a few things we're not happy with. I would be a little cautious to recommend ADT or make people aware it's a lot to process all at once.

    When I spoke to someone from ADT on the phone, I told her that I had the camera system with ADT and she said, “Okay. They'll reactivate the system.” When the guy came to the house, he ripped out the old installation. He did not put a camera in it because he said it’s gonna cost me $299 to do all of that. I said, “The person on the phone did not tell me that because I tell her I already have a camera and I was hooked up with ADT, what I had.” He finished in one day, but he was a little aggressive. He’s not gonna put the camera in it. He ripped out the first system, put up a system, which I don't even like because when a door opens, I can’t hear it. It is so low. I don't really like this new system here.

    Also, the camera doesn’t hook up. I had a camera and I could see anybody come in the house and see if I have people that did stuff in the house. So, that’s why I had the camera the first time, and he said he would not hook it up. I said, “I spoke to the lady, and the lady tell me it’s okay. They’ll do everything.” I don’t know why do I have to pay 299 for that. Overall, I recommend ADT, but not that guy.

    ADT is a well-known name. Years ago, I got a security system in my old house. I remember researching it, and I heard about ADT then. This time, we got it again. There ended up being three gentlemen that came. The first one came in and explained everything to me. They were really patient with me when there was an issue 'cause I had the wrong card. They had to go outside and wait by their car while I went to the bank and got cash 'cause my other card hadn't been activated yet. Although there were a few things that they said that weren't very polite, they did a good job.

    However, one of my windows keeps saying that it's open, but it's not. There are two pieces on all the other windows, where one is on the frame and then another one is on the window itself. On the window that says it's open, I noticed that there's a piece that's on the other windows that's not on that one. I don't remember anything falling or breaking, and I haven't seen anything. I also don't feel any glue where something might've fallen off. That has been from the beginning as well. Apart from that, my experience has been great.

    The installer took out all his garbage. It might've been something that he missed but otherwise, he cleaned up and explained everything to me. He asked me if there were any questions but everything was okay from my standpoint. They were very good. The only thing that kinda set me back was making the payment right then and there. I didn't know about that. If I was told that I will have to make a payment once they are done doing my installation, I would've been aware of it.     In the flyer, what's said is that for the $800 value, I would get seven sensors. But once the tech came in, he explained that it wasn't exactly like that and the equipment was much more expensive. Originally, the plan was for us to have sensors on the windows and the doors and have a touchscreen panel. That’s like a home base for the system. But a lot of back and forth. Eventually, we ended up getting a couple of glass break sensors, instead of all the sensors. Then just a keypad, no touch screen.

    Originally, I wanted the touchscreen. The person that came in first told us that that would be available to us. Then once I knew the difference between what the salesperson had told me over the phone and what the tech was telling me at home, then I needed to go to work so I had to reschedule for the next day. Then the next day, they couldn't find my credits. They couldn't get me the panel that I thought I could get. We rescheduled again, ‘cause it seemed like there were some technical issues. We started on Thursday and then we ended up installing it on Tuesday. The installation went well once we figured out all of that stuff.

    The tech that really helped us out was Zach. He came in on Thursday. He broke everything down for us. We really understood what was going on. For lack of time, we couldn't just make a decision right then and there cause I have all the information that he was telling me was pretty much new. Then I rescheduled for the next day. Someone else came in. His name was Quentin and that was a complete waste of time. He didn't seem to us, my fiancée and I, like he really wanted to help install the system. He was just outside a lot, talking to I don't know whom, because there was not really much transparency there. Again, this was during the workday, so I had to constantly come in and out. I have dogs. They were just going crazy. He was here for the better part of two hours and we really got nothing done.

    I know that, to be fair, he had seemingly a technical issue with his end of things in terms of saying what was available to us. But regardless, his attitude was not what we were expecting. He just didn't seem to us that if even we were to just ask for the most basic system just to get something done, he would not have been willing to do that. So that was unfortunate. Again, there was a time we asked him to reschedule because nothing was getting done aside from the technical issue that he had. He let us know that he rescheduled with our original technicians for Monday, and we found out that that was not the case.

    On Monday, the day came and went and no one from ADT came in. When we called, they explained that a technician alone could not reschedule an appointment. So that was pretty much a lie on his part. Again, another day wasted. We asked time away from work so that we tend to people coming in, especially now in COVID era too, you just wanna make sure you have as little contact as possible. I had people come in three and four times for all this. So, not ideal. But again, in the end, the technician that helped us out was very helpful and we got something worked out. I still recommend ADT. It just took us longer than we thought it was going to be.

    This morning, one of the contacts of my less-than-two-weeks-installed system fell off the window and I was 30 miles away. The police came and there was a big fiasco. I ended up finding the contact swimming in my dog's water bowl. I'm irritated with the fact that it cost me a day of work sitting through a four-hour window to get my system installed and then the system also cost me today. I'm a painting contractor and I don't have time to be running back from 30 miles away at 100 miles an hour because I think I'm being robbed. ADT needs to attach contacts better.

    While I don't have a problem with the amount of money ADT's system costs per month, I'm not really happy with things right now. Nobody from ADT has made an offer to help me out or compensate me in any way for the fiasco. They made another four-hour window appointment to come back and attach things correctly. ADT should know that I'm an unsatisfied brand-new customer and consider whether they should do a little something for me. Also, they should not give out four-hour windows like everybody can just sit around and wait for their techs to show up.

    My experience with ADT's sales rep was good. They were very helpful and gave me a great deal. I wasn't planning on getting anything, but they swayed my decision to get ADT. The installation was fairly easy. The gentleman came in and laid out all the options. He showed me what I would be getting. It was quick.     We had had ADT before and have never had any issues with them. It was pretty straightforward. There wasn't a lot of thought process. There aren't a lot of options either. Customer service was great. Marlin, the representative that came, was fantastic. I was surprised on the cost. We were under the assumption it was going to be one amount, and it ended up being something completely different. It would have been great to have a little forewarning what the cost of things were going to be so that we can be prepared.

    It was almost $3,000 versus $900. It's a log cabin and because of its nature, we had to do a hybrid system. It was decided that it would be better to put, instead of glass breaks on windows, vibration. These are a little more costly. It would have been great to understand and know what our options were so that we would have been thinking about it beforehand and not been shocked.

    We spent the money and we did it. In getting a security system, you should understand points of entry, and what's gonna help you sleep at night. You need to know what you're comfortable with, what points are most important to protect, what seems unnecessary, and what things aren't really necessary. You don't have to have a doorbell with a camera if you already have one camera. You have to know a little more clearly what it is that you want and understand what's offered which goes along with understanding what the real cost is going to be.

    I specifically had already known about ADT and I wanted to give them a shot. Initially, when I spoke with someone, it was a good interaction. When everything started getting set up, though, it became a bit different. The pricing was completely different than what I was first told about but recently, I was able to get closer to the deal that I was expecting.     We had ADT in our last apartment before we moved out. We got them again this time and the salesperson we talked to was a young lady. She was very helpful and it was pretty easy getting everything set up and situated before the visit of the installer. The installer did the walkthrough and made sure that we were aware of how everything worked and where everything was. He was also talking this through the placement of the items and what they do.

    However, there should be transparency in the cost of equipment upfront before the visit. It would be really helpful as we found ourselves in a tight spot of having to make a decision right there because we didn't want to miss out on the $100 that we set down prior to the visit. The amount that we had to come out of with the coverage that we wanted was kind of unexpected because we had no scope of how much we were looking at as far as the cost of equipment, even with the discounts, which we greatly appreciated. If any of my peers would be getting their system hooked up, they should have a good amount set aside prior to the visit, which in a way is a different conversation about budgeting, especially when you're a first time homebuyer like we are.

    My initial contact with customer service was good. When the guy came out, he was very nice but the prices and initial fees changed. It sounded like they've never had the system that was already installed in my house here. So they've never had to deal with that. Normally, they have to upgrade but it was already upgraded. They were not quite sure how to switch over a system that was already upgraded. Then there were more fees than originally disclosed, which was very frustrating. If a situation is something that they've never ran into before, they shouldn't charge the first customer and then get a program in line that states how they should handle it going forward. That way, everything is disclosed prior, and so nothing is really a surprise. But the equipment is pretty nice stuff. ADT is still a good company and I still like the experience.

    I kept receiving emails, text messages and mail from ADT and there were also constant follow-ups which made me decide on them. Plus, I needed to make sure my family’s safe because I work a lot. I’m not daily at home and I have a little girl and a wife. Then, I compared it to other ones. My uncle used to have ADT Home Security. I see them mostly and it’s better to go with what you're more cognizant with. I bought this home in April and I would have had this home security in May.

    When I called to do the whole process, they ran my credit and I still have that hard inquiry on my report. However, we got disconnected and nobody called me back to follow up. I've been carrying that baggage on my credit profile. It got me upset because I felt like maybe I didn't matter. I wasn't important. I wanted to dispute the inquiry because I felt it was fraudulent. For someone to go as extensive as running your credit, looking at your credit profile and leaving a hard inquiry, which lasts for two years with you, the least they could do is follow up after that and say that they’re working on it, they got you checked and everything is okay, and they just need to complete the process.

    I was trying to call the number again and I couldn't get anybody. After they followed up, they were doing the random emails I keep receiving like I was trying to get the whole thing all over again. One of the marketing teams reached out to me and I told them how far I’ve gone. So it took them a while to go through the process again but we were able to get it started and move forward. Ring Security has this floodlight camera and I’m looking to put that. The inside of the house is secured so somebody would have to break in but with the floodlight cam, I can see things from outside before it even happens. ADT doesn't have something like that. If somebody was to sell that kind of part to me, it might make me a little bit biased. It’s something that I need and I want us to have cameras around the outside of my property so I can see the vehicles and my backyard. ADT might want to look into it if it’s not something they carry.

    My experience is still very new and I'm still looking at the device. I would need somebody to talk to about it. If I click on the button that says “Awake,” it keeps sending me text messages that the stuff was disconnected, which makes me kind of unsteady. So if I’m at work, because I work mostly at night, I keep receiving this text. “The alarm system was disarmed.” So I would have to go into the physical app itself where it can now say “I’m away.” I'm worried not to keep pushing buttons so the alarm don't go off. I added my wife to the panel and she said she doesn't receive messages.

    ADT quoted a better price than the other company I was looking at. I went with them and their installers were super friendly and really helpful. I'm very happy with the features of the system I got. Everything is working nicely. I had a little issue with my doorbell but ADT said they would send somebody out to take a look at that for me.

    I had a conversation with my friends the other day and I let them know that the price ADT quotes is not what the final price is gonna be. I thought the cost would be $30 a month but instead, it was $60 a month. The person on the phone said that their deal was gonna cover all my sensors for my windows. It didn't and I had to pay $700. If people are looking for something more budget-friendly, I'm not sure ADT is the way to go. Still, their service is great and I'm happy with their responsiveness when I had a doorbell issue.
