The installer was very sweet and kind. He put everything in where it was supposed to be. He checked with me that the system was where it was supposed to be. He also taught me and my daughter how to work the system. He left his number, just in case we got confused or anything happened. He helped us set all our codes. He was great. I really love the system. I like the feeling of security. Like when I'm going to sleep, I don't have to worry if I locked the window. We were victims of domestic violence, so we had to put in the system for other reasons and it's a nice measure of security for us.

I had ADT for four years in my previous home. I did a relocation and my contract is still ongoing. Someone coming out to do the installation wasn't bad. But just the experience talking with someone from customer service and getting my system set up was horrible. The rep was yelling at me. I pointed it out to her, “You’re yelling at me. I’m just asking a simple question. I need clarification.” Also, in terms of pricing, they are overpriced. But so far, I've enjoyed the services. In my former home, whenever there was a breach or an alarm went off, definitely, we’d get a call from customer service. If it was a situation when I was not home and I needed them to send the cops, they've done that. I was also very happy with the guy that came for the installation. The salesperson that came to the house was also good, efficient and patient.

Everything was fine through the process of ADT. We had ADT eight years ago. We decided to make a change and we went with another company. I've just recently had it re-installed here. When the technician got here to set everything up, I decided to go with a different plan than what I started with and that was an upgrade. I was very pleased to hear from the technician that should a battery need to be replaced, I can call them and they'll send someone out. Because I am somewhat handicapped and unable to climb up on a ladder.
I was getting used to their keypad versus the other keypad that I had used and it seems easy enough. It is quite a bit more expensive than what I was paying with the previous company. But it's been a number of years since we had it here at this house. But the technician was very kind, respectful and gave me the information that I needed for the time being. It went very well.

ADT was more responsive than any rest of the companies on pricing and installation. A great young man did a great job in installing the system. I'm comfortable the system features. I like the phone access to the system.

I was an ADT customer and when I called, I made it clear that I wanted my service just transferred. But they sent the salesman out to show me where I should have things when I wanted it. The salesman thought he was here to do that but I thought he was here to install the system, so I wasn't particularly pleased at that point since I've driven from California to Arizona to have it done. I had to wait until after I moved to put the alarm system in and then, they sent the technician. That was a little aggravating. But I've had three different security system companies and ADT seems to be more interested in me rather than a couple of other companies I was with. It's been a few years I've been with ADT and it's been fine. I use the app and it’s an easy system to use. I've never had a problem with it.

The sales rep was great. He was knowledgeable. He set everything up. Once we got everything organized the way we wanted it, the system was up in an hour. All the stuff that was installed, I've worked with before. The only thing that was new to me is the new touchscreen keypad, which is really cool. The tech who came out was awesome. He installed everything and told me the prices. But I didn't understand the way it was broken down in my bill. Apparently, I'm paying two different portions of the bill. I'm making one payment to the equipment, and the other payment is to my monthly services. Nobody explained that to me.

ADT was competitive pricewise and they were able to get the system installed sooner. The installer did a decent job meeting our expectations. We raised questions during the installation and they were able to walk us through what needed to be done. I enjoy the cameras. It’s nice to be able to check out to see who's at the door when we're not at home. I’ve been happy with ADT. The only thing I wish they had would be the floodlights and some of those things you can get with Ring that you can't get with them.

I've had other security systems and ADT is a lot more money per month than I was paying before. The system that I inherited has two cameras - one out the driveway in the front of the house and the other one is in the garage - and I don't know what those cameras do. They're not monitored, they don't sense motion, and they don't let me know if the cameras are picking up anything. I can arm and disarm the system remotely through my phone and I can look at the cameras. But unless I pull up the app and look at the cameras, it doesn't tell me anything about prowlers in the front or whatever.
Also, none of my smoke detectors are hooked up or linked with the ADT system. They said I have to pay extra for that, on top of what I'm paying now, so I decided not to do anything. If the house burns down, I wouldn't know about it and there are no motion detectors in the house. The only thing that ADT is covering right now is the two cameras, four doors that they tell me when they open and close, and 14 window units that let me know if there's any impact to the windows. I'm still getting used to it, but I don't see how I'm getting my money's worth at all.

Everybody at ADT seemed to have been pretty nice to me. I like the company and I was satisfied with the system because I could turn it off and on. But I'm a little upset about not getting my battery. I supposedly got a battery when my system was set up at my new residence but I have not received the battery yet. It's for the panel on the wall. When they set it up, I was needing to get a battery. The technician said, "You have low battery." He thought he had one, but he didn't. When I called them and asked about the batteries, the rep told me me it was gonna cost me $90-some to get it put in. I don't think it's right for me to pay for it. I'm getting a new system put up. They should've had all of that combined together. I can't even turn my alarm on right now and I'm afraid to try to use it. I have a guy going in there painting every day, and all he can do is just lock my door. I don't have any security right now. I need to talk to ADT and ask them what's going on. I'm going to have to tell them I'm gonna go to another company if they can't work with me.

The cameras are working and I'm able to set the alarm by the app. I’ve had ADT for a long time. The only issue that we're having is the garage door sensor. It keeps saying that the door is ajar. I checked it out this weekend but it doesn't look ajar.

I was able to get all the answers I was looking for from ADT's rep and the installer who came out was very good. There were a few alterations he suggested based on when he actually visited my house. We got the changes done and I like those. So far, I am really happy with the service and I feel more secure in my house.

The technician explained everything. With ADT, I can monitor my home from anywhere I am. The other day, there was an alarm that went off when someone opened the door, and immediately, ADT called me. It gives me that peace of mind.

ADT is a hit or miss. But they try to solve and rectify the situation and I give them credit for that. This last time around, customer service did a great job. But I had an experience before where I went to cancel the service and had the worst experience with a customer service person. I tweeted about my dissatisfaction and that caused a lot of people to start calling me. The stuff that they offered was a good deal. They definitely tried to correct the wrongs of the service that I received and they did a good job with that so I applaud them. They're not always gonna hit it right but it's a matter of how they make it right if they don't.

The sales rep was good. But the biggest thing was that I was told initially that we could use the hardwired system in the house. But that turned out not to be true. So the price was probably double what the initial quote was. Also, there was some problem with the initial device ADT installed. It didn't work for the first week and a half. It only started working today when the tech came back out. When it works, it seems good.

I looked at a couple of security companies, especially the ones that you have to install yourself. To me, that peace of mind wouldn't necessarily be there if I did it myself. I also like the idea that the system is connected to our local sheriff's department, fire department, and EMF. I didn't mind spending a little bit more for that. The day of the system installation was a busy day for us but the installer was able to work around our schedule as best as he could. Since I was at the hospital, he showed my father-in-law the system features and my father-in-law showed them to me.
We use the system every day and it gives me peace of mind, especially at the moment when I'm elsewhere and my wife is at home with the baby. I can arm the system through the app and disarm it with the panel. I like the doorbell feature and we’re very pleased with it. I like the quick exit feature too. I am able to take the trash out really quick then come back in. That's nice. Overall, things are going really well.

I’ve lived with my mother and she's had ADT in her previous home for years, so when we moved, we stuck with them. Lisa, who was the rep I spoke with, was very pleasant, very nice, and made it a simple process. ADT did a wonderful job, and they're very efficient and very pleasant to work with.

I liked how promptly and quickly ADT came to my mom's house. They had a technician in our area. So he came and sized it up. He made sure of what we needed and it all got installed. It was very easy. She’s using the keychain idea to arm and disarm the system. I like that too. Recently, I put in a system for my mom and the salesman was very kind. The first installer came out Tuesday but the window glass things did not work. Then another person came out and he installed two that did work. Early on, I told ADT that when the alarm goes off, I want my system to call the police first and not me. But when I called the 1-800 ADT number yesterday, the lady said, “Well, no, we've got your phone.” She had a hard time understanding what I wanted to do. I said, “Ma'am, all I want to do is that if that alarm goes off at my mother's, I want the police to be summoned first. And then, you call me. And then, if you want to call my mom as a third contact, that's fine.”
Overall, I like ADT. We've had the service for 25 years. The batteries are fairly easy. The hardest thing is that the system that I have in my house is an older system. I've got kind of the older and newer motion detectors. The older one is a little more finicky, trying to take it apart. But the newer ones are a lot easier. The batteries last a long time. I'm the happiest when I know that when I leave the house and if something happens, somebody is coming. I had accidentally set my alarm off and the police came. I forgot to get a hammer and then I went downstairs and raised the garage door. Then there was a high-pitch sound and I realized the alarm was on. Before I knew it, the police were here.
The reps at ADT are very professional. They listen to my needs. The last technician that came to take care of the glass breakers in my mom's house, I asked him a couple of scenarios there. He said, “Well, that's a good point.” He said, “Let's do this. Let's put one thing there, like a glass breaker, we'll put a motion sensor here. And that way, it's got your mom covered on that back-end of the house.” I told him I liked that. I've recommended ADT over the years to several people. There's a lot of outfits out there, but we’ve been happy with ADT. They're nice and neat. I like how they matched the color. Like we got white trim and they got white, and they also got brown if you got wood. That's a nice thing to have. They're not noticeable, so I like that. All is good as long as it works. So being concealable is great.

The technicians who came to install my ADT system knew what they were doing, and they were really quick. Then they explained everything that needed to be explained. I like all of the features of my system. I like being able to see the playback of the videos. It's recording 24/7. I do recommend ADT. They are quick and efficient, and they're on top of it. It’s harder to hack into ADT's system, which was the reason I chose to use them.

ADT was quick. I got online and set up a phone call with ADT. I set everything up at around 2 in the morning and they were calling me at 8 in the morning. I got through the whole process in a matter of 15 minutes. It was two customer service reps that I was on the phone with, and they were awesome. The system could be a little pricey, but it's also the name brand that you're paying for. I like that I can control everything from the phone, and add users, and do whatever needs to be done from the phone. The only thing that I really wish is that it was compatible with the Google Home system. It works with Alexa but everything in my house is Google.

We had to transfer our service to another property in another town and it was fairly simple to do. Everything was fine. The installer was real good about walking through everything. He showed us everything and stayed around till we made sure we had a handle on everything. He was very thorough about everything. ADT is very reputable. It's a good service. They have very friendly and helpful staff.

We had ADT in our old house before. We'd never had a problem with it before and always had good service. We just moved into a new house, and I didn't even look into much else. The person who came out to install was pretty quick. He didn't cut corners. He just did everything that needed to be done. He was very polite and very knowledgeable. I've got two younger kids at home, and he took some extra steps on some pieces to put some electrical tape around things. He was like, “I don't know that this would ever happen. If they put their fingers all the way back up behind this thing, they might be able to get a little shock or something.” He was very attentive to that kind of stuff. So, that was really nice.
He kept asking if we had any more questions, and he walked us through the app. We had the app before, but it was a different app. This new one seems to be a little more high-tech or a little better, maybe even a little more user-friendly. We had an older system at our old house. Overall, ADT is reliable and they have good customer service.

We've been with ADT for many years and I like it because it's kind of a peace of mind. I'm hoping that if I ever had a problem that they'll come through for me. As a matter of fact, my son-in-law opened the door last week and it worked out just fine. I got to turn the alarm off before the cops came. A week later when ADT put a new system in, I had to have them come back and put in the window sensor because it wasn't working correctly. They did that and everything's fine. Also, the app is a lot better now than it used to be.

Brandon was the guy that got us signed up with ADT and he was awesome. It was super quick. We talked about ADT and how long he’s been working for the company. When sales reps come out, they really just try and do their job. I’m in customer service myself so I’m all about getting to know my customers. Brandon was very engaging and he wanted to know what I needed to be done in my home. That was really cool. My mom was at my house when Brandon came. He went to my mom's house too and did her quote. I love Brandon. When a gentleman came to do the installation of my system, he was really nice and informative. He explained a lot of things including about the panels and how to connect the thermostat and everything from my phone.
I have heard things about ADT and how a lot of customers really don't like it. But it was a great experience for me. I work from home and with the system, I have the ability to see things. When somebody comes to the door, it notifies you and that's even before they ring the doorbell. I was upstairs in my house yesterday and I saw someone at 10 o'clock at night. It turned out a bug landed on the doorbell. The system is so sensitive. I love it.
My sister has Vivint and when her system was being installed, the rep was trying to sell it to me. Like ADT, Vivint runs a credit check. But with Vivint, if your credit is not up to par then you’re paying for your equipment upfront. With ADT, you pay a deposit and you’ll still be paying for the equipment that you need over time. Vivint's system isn't good either even though it's cheap. Also, ADT is has a quick alert response while Vivint is not quick and alert. I need quick and alert because I work from home now. If my sister comes across the doorbell, I can see her while I'm at work. If someone is behind her, I can see everything. I can go back and replay it too. You can't do that with Vivint.

When the installer came in, he hooked up everything inside. Then ADT told me about needing more speed on the modem. I called the guys, and they don’t have no more speed where I’m at. So I said, “If you're not gonna put cameras up, take the stuff home with you.” They told me they’re gonna put two cameras outside but they never did that. I even bought cameras. I asked ADT to come back and get all their stuff. They told me I gotta give them $3,000 and I told them that their guy lied about the cameras so I wouldn't pay it. Most of the technicians that ADT has already know what you got when they see your Wi-Fi system. So they shouldn’t wait till they do all the work and then say, “Oh, the cameras don't work because you don’t have enough data.” I ended up taking all of their stuff down.

The back of my Villa opens up to a lot of open area so it's very easily accessed. We are also close to the interstate. So if anybody wanted to do anything, it would be easy to get in and out. So I feel safer with ADT because I live alone. The only problem that I have is that I am not computer savvy. I'm 75 and I don't work with the computer well. I don't even think I've set up a way to pay my bill. It would be nice if there's somebody that I can call and help me figure things out. I was told that I needed to set up something called MyADT. I downloaded the app onto my iPad but I don't know who to pay until somebody sends me a piece of paper that says, “This is where you're supposed to pay this much every month. And here's your bill.” So I'm sitting here waiting. I haven't heard anything.

We just moved and transferred our system. That was really easy. The installer was here quickly and he did a good job. The system worked well right after he left. I have the app and I like that it's on my phone and easily accessible. I can really get a good idea of what's going on in the house and feel comfortable. We're happy with our system.

I've always been happy with ADT in my house and this is the third home that I've had it. We got it two weeks ago. I also like the returning customer discount. So far, we're happy with everything. If the door is open, it tells you which door it is like if it's the garage door or the front door. I like that the most.

We signed up with ADT over the phone and that was very good. We did a reactivation because the previous owners of the house had ADT and the equipment was all there. Everybody was very polite and helpful. Being able to access the cameras from my phone is very nice. So far, so good.

The ADT rep explained everything to me about how the system works. Then even when I had questions about the angle, he made sure he corrected that so that I had the cameras in the correct angle that I wanted them to. He just made sure everything's right before he left. I also love the app, especially the fact that I can close the door and I can arm the system right from my phone. I was very satisfied with ADT.

I had an awful experience with ADT. We went with ADT because it's a reputable name. They had a good price plan. We were looking for something for when I was away that my wife would feel a little bit more secure. We've had ADT for a couple of years now since 2017 and we've moved it from one home to another home. That has been a complete disaster. For about the last year, I've been paying for two houses even though we moved our service. They didn't capture it right. After multiple calls, somehow that translated that I wanted to cancel the service at my current residence. Not sure how that happened, and it wasn't even what we had wanted to do. So, I got hit with a $1,300 early termination fee.
So, that was when I engaged with Aaron, a local field rep, and he's been able to help the situation by getting the bill correct. But in order to do that, I had to sign a new contract with ADT and pay a reactivation fee of a system that I never really terminated. I got a text message from him that the $309 credit that I'm supposed to be getting because of all the overpayments was sent out to me on 7/29, but I have not received anything. But in the physical service that we are getting, which is the security monitoring, it's been fine.

I've been with ADT for many years. I haven't missed a payment. And just because of the pandemic, they sent me to collection. It wasn’t like I wasn't gonna pay them, but I paid them and I got over it. We reinstated the account. But they gave me a runaround. I spoke with one person. I was on the phone for two hours. They sent me from one person to the next, then to the next and the next until they closed. I had to call the next day. It is very frustrating. Also, every time I logged in, the account showed there is an error that there is no cellular connection. I spent several hours on the phone the last couple of weeks. And I haven't heard back from them. They said it will fix itself, or they would send somebody else, but nobody came out. It’s still in the same situation.

ADT's customer service is great. My understanding of what I was getting was awesome. I like the security of knowing my house and personal belongings are protected. Also, the additives ADT has to offer are awesome. I got a smart thermostat, smart doorbell, and smart lock.

ADT was pretty much willing to find a solution for my internet problems while most of the other ones wasn't compatible with my internet. Their sales rep was awesome and the installer did a great job. He was very informative and he let me know what I need to do. He didn’t have any problems with me asking questions and he had the answers for them. The equipment is good, too, though I would like to hear the audio. Other than that, I like pretty much everything about our ADT system and I haven’t been to the point where I couldn't see anything or the system was out for a long time.

The tech was very friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything. I just had windows that he couldn't put the alarm on. That was disappointing. But it wasn't ADT's fault. I got a discount and I feel safe.

The batteries of my remote where I turn my ADT system on and off went dead. The man came but he didn't put all that was needed in. So, when I tried to cut the system back on, it still didn't work. I had some guy that knew about the batteries and I bought them. He put them in for me.

I'm a loyal customer of the ADT family. I had it at my Detroit home before and I have it now in the home I moved to. The tech who did the installation was very personable, mannerable, and professional. He went over the different things as far as the system was concerned to make sure I was comfortable before he left. That was very helpful.
I really like that the wall unit is easy to maneuver than the past one that ADT had. I like the pad on this one too as it's more user-friendly than the old model. Before, I used to always trip the alarm system for some reason. By the time I got out and I had to run back in, it had tripped the system. With this system I have now, I hit the button that says I'm leaving out and put my code in. Everything's been working out fine. I haven't had any problem since then.
The only thing that could be improved is with the billing. For a minute, I had three units because I was selling one house. From that house, I was transferring the services over to this house. The other day, I received a bill for a thousand and something dollars. I called customer service and they told me they were waiving that fee.

I had disconnected and ADT had to reinstall my system The first guy who came wasn't able to install it. The second guy was very polite and he knew his stuff. He did everything great. He put something like a plug for security for three doors and put another box in my kitchen in case I have an emergency. The equipment works fine. When the doors open, we know when somebody is coming in. My wife loves that.

I've been a customer there 20 years. But right now, I'm having a bad experience. I'm very aggravated with the experience so far. There are a lot of screw-ups. They’ve been to the house five times with the new install. There have been five visits because they keep mistaking the appointments for what I wanted. I’m supposed to get installation done, but they've sent the wrong techs out. And every time the techs would come, they would cancel them because they were the wrong techs. Because they were not able to do camera installs.
The other mishap is the price quote. I moved and they were supposed to give me a bargain because I was a relocation. And when you’re a customer move, they give you a discount. And they never applied the discount to my charges. This is about a week now. And they told me because I already signed the paperwork, there's no discount. I said, “That's irrelevant. I've been a customer there for 20 years. I moved five times.” They give me discounts. It's an incentive to stay with them. Because I could go through multiple choices of other security companies. So what they do is, because I stay with them, they give me a deal to stay with them type of thing. They didn't do that this time, even though they said they would.
Normally, the service was always excellent. I love the system. It’s easy to use. And because of their name brand. That's why I stay with them all these years. But it seems that recently, the company has changed. They're doing a lot of advertisement on the TV. And they’re always great. But it seems that very recently, there's something lagging. There's a definite change recently with the exceptional customer service they used to have. It seems like it went downhill this last experience so far.

To my knowledge, ADT was a reliable and okay place, so I called them. The company guy called, and they sent a salesman. He was knowledgeable and a very nice guy. Then they sent this guy to install this stuff, and it was a mess. He was here all day long. This house isn’t a $100,000 house, it’s a $1,000,000 house. He took my old stuff, which I understood, replaced it with stuff that left holes in the walls. He did not have equipment with him that he needed. I told him, “Look, this alarm system and fire has to work. My grandkids will live with me. They’re going two days after me to Aruba. I’m leaving tomorrow for a week.” I had no security system the whole time. They used the excuse that, “Oh, there was an electric shortage.” I have a backup generation. So, the stuff still is hanging where I left all the junk, and it’s still not working.
They were supposed to come here the day that I came home. It was this past Monday. They never called. So, I called ADT. I was put on hold with various people for two hours. Finally, I got so disgusted, I hung up the phone. This morning, this gentleman called me and I told him there was no way in hell I would ever trust ADT with all this stuff I've been through. I was shocked. They left me unprotected. They didn't even have the equipment to put it up that day. It was a horrendous experience.

The installation took longer than expected, but it was okay. The installer had to redo a lot of stuff that was left. But I like that I can use the system on my phone because I forget all the time to set alarm. So that's good. Also, there are different codes that we can use to give people.

The ADT sales rep came out to the house, and he talked to us about the security system. We didn't really notice until he left, and he really didn't go around and look at our house. He told us some things that the installer told us a lot differently like I had to buy more equipment. The rep told me I did not need contact things on my windows. The installer said, "Yes, you do. If they're at ground level, like, you need to have something on those windows." The sales rep said that he thought that just the glass break would be all right. The installer said, "Yeah. Glass break is okay if they break the glass. If they jimmy that lock, and they open up, it's not going to go off." So, that meant I had to buy a bunch of new stuff for the windows. I don't think the rep was that knowledgeable.

The person that helped us with the installation of our ADT system showed up on time. We talked about everything. He even provided some suggestions. The installation went really well. The system is new to us. We're learning about it. Right now, we enjoy the features that we have. The smartphone app is good.

The first time, the salesman came to sell me all this stuff. After that, they came to install. The salesman was there too. Everybody was nice. They had a little trouble with the wiring of my house. Then, I was very disappointed because ADT kept calling me saying that there were tampers. It was stressful because I was in the middle of a move. I got calls every day that there was a tamper, that there was this, that was that. I wanted to pull out the system completely, but then they sent some young kid in there who knew what he was doing and fixed it. I love the system because it's not saying that it's tampered. So as of the day before, everything's good.

Chris came here and told me they could do two things for me. And when the installer came, he could only do one which was the inside. He said he couldn't do the outside. I'm disappointed in that. I wanted a camera that looks at my car, covers my car at night, that when somebody comes along and decides they're gonna put scratches on it, I know who did it. I just wanted the camera to capture that person doing it so I could refer it to the police. I wanted the inside for when I'm away. So I keep the thing off most of the time right now, because I'm here most of the time.
Other than the internet might not be strong enough, that’s the only issue I know. But the installer did something else I'm not happy with. He decided that I needed protection on a cellar door. It’s never used. There's no way anybody can get to that door. He did that to make up for not being able to install outside. The system is okay. But it's not what I really wanted. I got half of what I wanted. The clarity is fine with the camera. I moved it so that I could see what's going on outside, and it works fine.

I liked ADT because that's what we had when I was a young girl growing up and that is who my parents have now and that is who they feel safe with. We were moving to a new area that we're not familiar with, and I wanted to get a provider. I called some other companies, and I didn't really feel comfortable with them. We had a previous deal with ADT but because I had to go out of work, we had to discontinue the services. When we decided to move this time, I said, “Well, the only thing they can do is tell me no.” So, I called and I asked to speak to a supervisor.
I was connected to a supervisor who told me, “Well, ma'am, you have a previous deal, and it's already in collection.” I said, “Is there anything that we can do about it? Because I really would rather be with ADT. There are other companies that I could go with. But I have children, and school hasn't started back, and we moved to an area I'm not familiar with. And I will prefer ADT.” She said, “Well, let me see. I have to call you back.” When she called back, she said, “I did speak to someone, and they said that if you agree to pay 390 some dollars and pay it today, we can settle the bill. And we can restart your services.” I said I didn't have a problem with that.
I also asked, “Well, when is the soonest that they could come out?” She said, “Well, they could come out on the 2nd of August.” I said, “That is actually a little bit further out than I would like, but I don't mind. That's fine.” I had another company tell me they could come a little bit earlier, but I just didn't feel comfortable with it. I asked the lady how I should pay and she said I had to pay with the automated service. She said, “What I’m gonna do is it’s gonna go through a little process, and she's gonna ask you your information. And then once you're done, it'll connect back to me.” When she connected me to the automated lady, it started to static. I heard her a little bit when she was saying some things. Then the phone hung up.
To myself, I was like that may have been a scam because she did say she was calling back and the number that called back didn’t say ADT. It just was a number. The lady did call me back. She said, “Let's try it again.” We did and I paid it with my debit card, and it went through. The lady said, “We’re okay. We got you already. It shows that it went through. And the guy, he’ll give you a call the morning of. And so, they’ll give you a call the morning of.” So, I just chalked it up to I had paid it, and that was that. So, after that, I thought that everything was okay. I just told her I wanted the basic plan because I didn’t wanna be in a position again that we will not be able to pay for the services. I just wanted something to protect the children while we are at work.
The guy came and he did a wonderful job. He was professional. His name was Connor. Everything was fine up until I was calling the other day to see when the due date was to pay. A lady named Brandy said, “You have a balance due. So, how are you prepared to pay that today?” I said, “I shouldn’t have a balance. Actually, I shouldn't have a balance. I just got the services.” She said, “Well, you have a 900 and some odd dollar balance, and so you need to pay that. You can pay it either today or whatever, but it needs to be paid.” I said, “We just got the service, as I said. Is that normal protocol for as soon as we get it, we have to pay it off?” She said, “Well, this is from a previous thing. This is from a previous address.”
I said, “Do you show that I paid 390 something dollars?” She said, “Yeah. I see $390, and I see 144. But it doesn't say what it was for, but the balance is still 900 and something. Then you have another balance for 900 and something. But that's for the equipment. This other bill is for before.” I said, “Well, you don't have anything itemized showing what it's for?” She was like, “No.” I said, “I'm not gonna speak with you anymore. Can I speak with someone else like a supervisor or manager, someone that is more professional and can give me some answers?” She was like, “If I can make use of somebody, they’re gonna have to call you back ‘cause we can't do that, ‘cause we work from home.” I said, “I’ll just have to call back.” So, I hung up and called the number.
It took forever for someone to answer it. I just kept getting transferred from person to person. I stayed on the phone the other day at least four hours altogether, and nobody could give me any answers. So, I feel like I was not treated well. The phone kept hanging up and then they told me that there were some connection issues on their behalf.
My husband had called to get a doorbell camera and I told him, “Cancel it, because we don't even know what we're being charged for and how we're being charged.” I thought I had paid that off and I settled that amount. With ADT, I would have never expected this type of issues. They've always been professional and courteous and then able to at least show me an itemized deal. So, I was more disappointed than I was upset. I'm very dissatisfied at this point because in less than a month I've already paid $450. If I would have known that I was gonna have to pay that much and then I still have a previous balance of 1,000, then I would have probably just went with another company and settle for 600 and had to pay it off.

The person who came here had to make so many calls because the center office did not give clarification on many things. So, it took some time for him to clarify. And the thing is, ADT was charging too much. It was not a good experience.

I can turn the system off and on wherever I am with the app. If my daughter has to go to my house, I can do that. I'd recommend ADT. It's a little bit pricier than other systems, but it was already in as the previous owners carried it, so I just kept it. If I had to install it, I would look around.

The customer service was fine and getting things set up was easy. But right now, we’re having trouble setting up the parameters because I keep getting cars in the video. We’re having construction done so I got the cameras off but the rep is gonna come by sometime next week and help us get that fixed.

Since purchasing 4 surveillance cameras and a two-year contract in September, I have had constant difficulty with the surveillance, both live camera and recordings of clips. The ADT cameras stop recording and also stop working live as well. I have complained about this to ADT customer service. They do the same thing over and over expecting a different result which is to reboot the system, send out technicians to troubleshoot and fix the problem. And it continues to happen over and over. There have been two events that I wished to have captured on camera recordings, but the ADT cameras and recording system failed. ADT has a very ineffective camera surveillance and recording system. Per the technicians, my internet is fast enough, and clear up my memory space each time. They can't find anything wrong.
I have also asked to get out of the contract because of the ADT's system's inefficiency. I have been refused to get out of my contract. I asked this prior to my 6 month money back guarantee.. A technician came out just 4 days ago AGAIN and deleted ALL my recordings for the sake of running out of recording space and 2 days later So, I still can not see out of 3 /4 cameras for live view and only ONE has an occasional recording. So as of now I am paying for services that aren't being rendered by ADT. I feel I'm being robbed and stolen from by force.
ADT is unwilling to satisfy and resolve my complaint. They ask me to reach out and call in, I have, about 10 or more times...In the end, don't help and force me to keep in a contract... I'll apology but otherwise nothing is ever done differently. Isn't that the definition of insanity? To do the same thing over and over, expecting a different result? I have reached out to corporate and corporate has not returned my calls. I have escalated it several times, upper corporate department has never reached out to me to fix my problem or give me a refund. I have paid well over $1,000 for an ineffective system and pay monthly almost $60 a service that I am not receiving. ADT has not resolved this. And for this I give ADT a ZERO.

The installers came in and had their masks on. They installed everything quickly and set things up on my phone. I wanted to see if I could get some cameras though because I got the ADT Blue but I couldn’t get professional installation. I shipped the Blue back and they sent another one. ADT is a class of its own and it’s been a good experience. Their service is one of the best and that’s what you want.

The guy looked at my house and saw what was needed. I had 17 windows in one room. He said that it's gonna cost a little bit of money and it would be okay if I could just go and put some little things on the windows and see if there’s breaking in, and then the rooms I had by themselves, that ones that can put little for the breakage, and then the other rooms where it would be better feasible for me to have if they would break into my house. He showed me how to use the system and then he asked if I had any questions, I had two hours to play with it. The only thing is that my phone is too old and it’s not compatible with the app. I have the little remote that he gave me for the other one, but I only use it when I don’t have my iPad.

I was going to go with a different security company because they had cheaper rates but ADT kept tagging me along saying that they would be done in two weeks. The two weeks passed and they had to set up a new appointment for me in two weeks. It still took another two weeks to get them out but as soon as they got there, it was easy. They didn't have exactly what I asked for because they threw down the basic package for me when I wanted a couple cameras and a doorbell. So, I talked to them and they fixed everything. They came in and installed everything, and it was at a cheaper rate than what I thought. The tech was great. He came in, put everything up and made sure that any holes or drills were okay with me. He also made sure my landlord was good with it. The cameras go out sometimes though. But it might be the internet more than the system.

I had ADT before. Then I got the Intelligent Home. Then Spectrum went away with Intelligent Home, so I needed something else, and ADT sent me their ads in the mail. I like the system. It has the camera now and I have the app so it’s more convenient.

ADT has a subcontracted company TEK Systems and one of the contractors came to my home to do some work and damage my Dry machine.. And after back and forth with ** Risk Management from ADT on 1501 Yamato Road | Boca Raton, FL 33431 she says "neither ADT nor Tek System is responsible for the damage.. Avoid using ADT company.

I wanted all the windows done but my husband didn’t want the back windows done, which is where people try to break in. He covered them up with heavy stuff, that if they get in, they’re gonna hurt themselves. We had to call back ADT for more because whoever sits down at that bar and grill store on Sunhill Road knows the system. Evidently, he works for some kind of system or he knows what to touch with gloves. He said not to start at the rear window all the way back to our playroom so they started on my windows, which are the ones I wanted to get. I got a security put on where I sleep on the sofa. I could hear him trying to get it so we got the other two windows across from the den also done too. We got the oven room done but my husband didn't want them on the computer room.

I like how interactive the system is and how helpful it's been and the people. We've had a couple of little issues and they call me. It's easy and I can get it done quickly. The app's great. It's just that I'm having issues with my phone, in particular, getting updates. My husband gets every update, and I'm getting almost zero. We're trying to figure that out, 'cause I'm the primary user, but yet I'm still not getting any communication. I've changed everything in my phone, so I don't know what else that I can do. I have lots of kids going in and out. We have a big house, plus doors. The whole point for me is to know who's running out, which side of the house, and where, and I'm not getting those updates. It's something that can be squared away. But right now, it's not working, and it's been frustrating. I'll probably be calling tech on that one.

In the past, we've had ADT down in South Florida. We ended up going with just a private security company that handles my business as well which was the reason for deviating from ADT. Then we bought a house in New York and we were going with another security company first as we were looking at a more local vendor. But they changed their installation date on us at the last minute and that was definitely a red flag. We had considered ADT beforehand and we just decided to go back to them. They were able to meet our needs as far as timing. The installation went very well and no complaints. The few times we’ve interacted with their customer service, it went smoothly, it was to the point, and that's what we're looking for. The willingness to accommodate your needs is really important and that’s what ADT did this time.

The installer came out and went over everything with my wife to make sure that it’s exactly what she wanted. We had one minor change, and the installation group was able to handle that very quickly and easily. We're still learning about the system, how to use the controls, and what themes we can set up. Being able to have the panel and access to the panel and having remote access on my phone and my wife's phone is a good feature. Hopefully, I will be able to spend some time and get to know it better. But as I'm still employed, by the time I get home every night, the last thing I wanna do is play with an alarm panel. Overall, everything seems to be very straightforward and I feel comfortable with it.
The sense of well-being for my wife, since she's disabled and having a way of monitoring her and checking on her was the main reason I did the ADT system. We live in a gated community, so I'm not too worried about security. I made one of the camera, the breakage, the smoke alarm, carbon monoxide, so I could check on my wife. If she dropped something, if she falls, the breakage alarm would go off and activate and notify me.

One guy came out and installed everything. He had his ID, his mask on, and he put his little rubber shoes over his shoes. I just got the alarm and looked at the information. Depending on the pad, the pad is good. I like the system. It was just that the sensor fell off on my bathroom window maybe because of the steam. It was not sticking. I got to call ADT about it.

Customer of ADT for 15 years. Their system in my home is outdated and needs to be updated so they called me to schedule. They wanted to give me a 4 hour arrival window. As a working person I cannot sit around for 4 hours waiting especially since it is their issue. They called again yesterday and the lady agreed to give me a 1 hour window for this morning from 8 - 9 am. It is now almost 10 am. I called customer service and spoke with some arrogant ** that would not let me talk who told me there was no way they would give me a 1 hour window. Do not give these clowns your money! There are many options out there so do your homework and check multiple review sites. You will be surprised as I was. I am cancelling my service TODAY!

ADT ropes you into a contract and installs sub-standard equipment. They outsource their work to local vendors and constantly try to charge extra for add ons or poorly placed equipment. SimpliSafe works and is a fraction of the price. Much better customer service as well.

Charges would only apply in cases such as where it is not normal wear and tear and or if a customer does not subscribe to the Quality Service Plan ADT offers. In your particular case, it appears you previously opted out of the service plan, which would require payment for parts and labor when a tech is dispatched to the home for service. HORRIBLE. They will require to you to sign a three year contract. The equipment is garbage and will malfunction quickly (took ours 2 weeks), Scheduled a service tech. Waited four hours - no tech. Called and was told ,"Nope, he's not coming." I asked whether anyone would call me and was told "Yeah, she's got four other customers to call, she just didn't get around to cancelling you yet". So they stand up LOTS of customers. And now we're stuck with this terrible company for three years. Grrrr.

Very long hold times to speak to a supervisor. I was on hold on, first time 1 hr 16 minutes and second time 1 hr 10 minutes. Equipment failure. Tech who was supposed to be at my home 8-12 pm on a Saturday, no showed and when I spoke to him told me he too is overwhelmed. Then had a rep tell me the appointment shouldn't have been scheduled same day. Absolutely horrible customer service and cannot rely on ADT equipment. I regret signing the contract. Faulty equipment.

We bought a new home in central Maine in October of 2018 and were solicited by ADT to install a security system. The costs for both the equipment and the monthly fee were shockingly high but we went ahead due to the promise of “exceptional customer service”. We have had nothing but problems since the beginning, from faulty smoke detectors that would just go off in the night to countless service calls where the technician never showed up. Now when we call we know our “soonest appointment” will be at least a month out and time after time, after being stood up, they immediately say, “Well you’re two hours from our home office.” Is this my fault or problem? They solicited me. Avoid them if you can. No one at ADT is held accountable and you will not have an advocate when the issues begin.

Typical to large telecom companies, ADT is a large legacy company, and expensive. I replaced them with a DIY system from WYZE. There are many other alternative if you want to create your own system, and control it from your cell phone. I cancelled ADT yesterday, they have a one-month cancellation notice. I asked why, particularly when they claim to be high tech, and should be able to turn service off asap. "It's policy". I asked If I could return their equipment, they said, "I can keep it, it's mine." Thank you but what can I do with an outdated security system. I asked if they would remove the monitor that they glued inside my house. They said I should call a different number to see cost and schedule. Now I know why I cancelled.

I got the service package for my family room and when we go outside in the patio, that's taken care of. My wife said we don't need it for the front door but I'm thinking about it. When I get ready to leave, such as when we’re going out the door in the laundry room, the system lets me know that the door is open. But I got the system cut off. I don't put the system on until we go out-of-town. Having the system makes me feel more secure in my own home because you don't know what's going to happen. I like it good and I'm happy with ADT. The cameras were not in the package that I have but I would love to have one.

I just had ADT do an install on my home we just purchased that had an ADT system previously installed, we called to have them re-activate what was already installed. We had 4 separate house calls, 4 days I had to take time off work to be home for them to do the install. Every time they showed up, the previous rep's notes were not available and we had to start from scratch, including the first visit when the call center rep did not pass along accurate notes. Completely unorganized, unprofessional and disrespectful of our time, I had to take 4 half-days at my own work just to get this done.
To top it all off, we financed our upfront expenses into our monthly expenses, only to have them charge us $740.00 anyways. Luckily I caught it and they cancelled the transaction but I won't have those funds available now for 3-5 days. All of this for a grand total of 2 cameras when we were initially thinking we'd get 5 because they couldn't get their systems to integrate and there seemed to be no communication whatsoever between their service reps at any level.
Whenever our contract is up for renewal we will absolutely not be renewing their services and I would not have followed through if the previous owner did not already have it installed. I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone, they are unorganized and have no clue from a business/systematic organizational level what they are doing. A professional company would have taken care of it on the first visit, charged me exactly what their contract stated, instead of taking $740.00 that I won't get back for a week, forcing me to take 4 days off work for constant appointments that they weren't on time for and were never prepared, and not following through on promises that the old system could be easily reactivated. Do not use ADT and I would never recommend them to anyone!

The reps did a very good job. There was a little misunderstanding about the cost but we got that straightened out. The installation was quite prompt and the installers were very nice. They were a couple of young men and they seemed knowledgeable. They knew what they were doing. I like the ADT security system. It makes me feel safe and secure, and I can turn the system off unlike my other one.

I was checking my bank statement and I see $44 was deducted. The rep didn’t tell me that he was gonna deduct 44 from my account when we made the agreement. It's supposed to be 19 something a month. I had an incident last month with my landline. They’ve been taking out money more than what we discussed so, I told this representative that I didn’t want automatic payments. I like automatic payments, but I have to keep abreast with my account because they take out more than they should. But the ADT system is good. When I go out, I put on the alarm system. Later on, I would have to add on the camera.

I like that ADT had several monitoring sites. If there is an issue in a particular area, it will still be monitored. I just have one thing that I don't like and it's actually with the product. If I want to look at the doorbell camera, it seems to take a bit. No matter where I am or how good my connection is, it takes a while to pull up the image, so that's a little troubling. Everything else is working pretty good.

There were two different installments and both persons were very nice, clean, and professional. It was just that the first person had a little bit more knowledge than the second one. We weren't getting the doorbell to work with our ADT app and the second one couldn't get it. He said there was only 70% Wi-Fi connectivity from the router to the doorbell as the router was a little far away. He had a Wi-Fi booster with him and we purchased it thinking that would help, and it still didn't. In the end, I was the one who figured out what was wrong and had to show him how to set up the doorbell on the app because he said he'd never seen that before. So, did I really need to pay that extra money for the Wi-Fi booster then or would it have worked without the extra money? Nonetheless, we've been with ADT for years and we're satisfied with their service.

My wife is the originator of our ADT contract. I was in the military and it made her feel safe while I was away. However, first impressions: the installation cost was extremely high compared to others, secondly the monthly charges were too much and the glass break was set off by stomping too loud in our kitchen. After-which we sold our home and we were advised we could transfer at no cost to us and we would receive new equipment. This is lie #1.
The original equipment must be paid in full, didn’t know it wasn’t after the $400 some we paid for install. Even if paid in full you only receive a credit back monthly at their discretion and you must finance or buy new equipment outright if you do move. So in other words you're out not only the old equipment but the money used to pay it off as well. Kinda like buying a car, trading it in years later for a new one, and having ZERO to show for what equity you had on the trade…. Either way we paid the $900 some and had a $800 some credit. Delta of ($100)….
We bought a new home about a year later and the $800 credit was still there. I, myself this time called and opened the account in my name being my wife couldn’t horse trade water in a desert. I opened the account, had it all set up and from the date of installation to the ** contract I knew they were trying to scam us. They lied about the monthly charge, contract stated $36 and the bill read $66. Hours upon hours on the phone and nothing settled. After all this the bill and the amount owed ended up in my wife’s name??? How!?!? She didn’t even sign up the second time, she wasn’t even on the second contract. So in other words my wife owes $900 some on something she never agreed to pay and I’m not on there period. I have the signed contract in my name, and my name only. I am seriously inquiring about a lawyer this time. I refuse to buy ADT ever again and I encourage all to research and look elsewhere.

The installer was nice, laid back, and very helpful. He took time for us and helped us understand the app. Also, ADT's cameras are cheaper than what I was paying before with Vivint. Their camera was so horrible that when the mailman pulled up, we won't see him pull up or get out of the car. That camera just showed him pulling away and that was disturbing to me. No matter who pulled up to my house, we don't get the full effect of them getting out of the car to see who it is. With ADT, we see all that. Their cameras are so crystal clear and I really like it. Now, we can see our neighbors walking their dog or people walking on camera. That’s so awesome. That's why I know this was the best decision for us because if something happens, we got it on camera.

The experience with the reps of ADT was satisfactory. Every question I had, they were able to answer and review the features. And anything that I told them I was interested in having as far as the services, they were able to assist me then explained to me, how it worked. So far, the system has been okay. I only had one problem that's still going on. The alarm system keeps going off letting us know that something is going on with the garage door and there's really not. It happens at any time, in the middle of the night. The first time it happened, it was 3 o'clock in the morning. It scared us to death because we thought somebody was trying to break into the house. It's just a sensor issue with the sensors on the garage door. I needed someone to come out and get that looked at.
But when we first initially called about it, maybe they updated or they did something to it and they walked my husband through it, how to do it at home. So, every time it happens now, he just hit the reset and does all of the stuff and then it stops. But it happened again the next week. So, at this point, we need to get someone to come back out and replace that sensor so it won't keep happening.

The system goes off if somebody is going to try to come into my front door when I'm away. So far, I like it. The only thing is that a yellow light keeps going on and off. I also wanted to change my password. I wanna learn how to get a new password for it. I'm gonna have to call ADT and tell them about those. Overall, I'm satisfied with them.

I was interested in the package they offered me. In the beginning, it was complicated because the manager who sold me the account, was supposed to send me a package. But the guy who came did his own package. And the previous person said he was gonna talk to him, tell him what all the cameras were gonna be. When the guy came in, he did a bad job. Then he only put half of the stuff and he charged me three times. So the manager who did the account was frustrated and then canceled the whole account and redid the whole account and brought a new tech. And I have everything okay now. It took about a month to do that. The guys were also good and very knowledgeable. They worked with me. The features of the package are good too. I like them. ADT is very secure.

They did the installation but we found out that there wasn't enough electricity going through the door camera so it hasn't been working. I could charge it and it would stay charged for a couple of hours and then it just cuts back off again. We had an electrician come out and they are supposed to try to get the job approved through the insurance company to rewire it or something to make it work. But everything else is fine. Paul, who installed the system was very good and he's very consumer-friendly. Also, with the app, I like that I can be somewhere and get these updates and stuff and check in on the house.

I'm not enjoying the system. Because it was so bad initially. When the salesman came, it was like, “You need one here, and you need one there, and you need three here, and five right here.” I don't need 18 smoke detectors. I felt like it was a little overkill, but that's because they're in business. The installer then came in, but the way the system was installed, all of them malfunctioned, so I kept getting alerts. I turned off all the alerts and text messages. The same installer came a month and a half later to tell me that the panel was not properly connected. He reactivated everything and fixed the issue. Now, I have to come back and reconfigure things.

My motion camera doesn't work properly. I walk out the front door, I come back in the house, and it takes 20 minutes for me to let me know that there's already been motion at the door. When it worked, ADT would tell me that it recorded too many times. I told them that they were the ones that put it up and put it at the angle that it’s at so how is that my fault that it’s recording every car that drives by? That's their technician’s responsibility to make sure that doesn't happen. ADT always blames it on our internet. Well, it's not our internet because I see what my wife spends on that and she has the biggest router that one could possibly have, and it's literally less than 20 feet from the front doorbell ring. The gentleman that came out did his best to do what he could do being that he’s subcontracted. They really need to get their stuff together. Otherwise, people would start going and taking matters into their own hands and get their own cameras.
I also got put into another three-year contract. They made me pay $1,400 to pay my old contract off that I hadn't finished out. They ignored the fact that I had told them that I couldn't afford to pay it because of the pandemic. They told me if I didn't pay the $1,400, it’s going to collection. They're more worried about collecting than helping people. They had my wife sign the paperwork when my wife isn't even the one on the actual contract. They showed no remorse about it. They didn't even care. The company sucks.

The sales rep took his time and he explained everything about the system and the guy that came out to install everything was personable and made sure he put things where I wanted them. We discussed all that thoroughly before he came in and started putting things up. And we discussed in-depth what each item was, how it worked and what it would do, and what would work best in our home setting. The features included in the system are up to date. It offers a lot more than what one really uses half the time. Also, now, I feel very secure that if anything were to happen, ADT would make the call for us. We just moved here and we don't know the area and I feel much better knowing that we have a sense of security at this time.

One camera kept going offline and it wouldn't stay on. I called ADT and somebody came out. He got it fixed and ever since, it's been working perfectly. The tech was very good and professional. I showed him the problem and explained to him what was going on. He troubleshot it because we have a modem and then, they put a Wi-Fi extender. For some reason, the camera would only hook up to the Wi-Fi extender instead of the modem so every time he redid it, it was going back to the extender. It needed to go to the main modem. So, he deleted the entire camera and then, he started all over again. He deleted the Wi-Fi extender and it popped right in. I haven't had any problems since.
I used to live up in the mountains on three acres and it was a small tight community where everybody knew each other. So, we left doors open and we left keys in the car. We never even lock it up. Then, we made this transition and moved down to a tract home. I was freaked out. I told my husband that we got to get a security system because I'm scared. My daughter has it in her house in Florida and she was the one who told me all about it. She told me that I should get it. As soon as we put the system in and I knew how it works, I felt so much better and a lot comfortable in my house. I feel safer having the system.

We had a very good experience with ADT the first time. We used them for a second home before and the ease of having remote access to the doors locking and unlocking, to the alarms to the thermostat, and everything was great as well as the customer service. Our install this past time was not ideal. The system itself is great, so I would recommend ADT but the installer was not very nice. He bad-mouthed me on the phone while I was standing in the same room with him. My husband overheard him and pulled him aside, and it got better. But the system's working great, which at the end of the day, was our main concern. We're going to use ADT again for camera installs in a couple weeks, so everything's good so far.

There were things that the ADT sales rep told me that were not true when the technician showed up. The work order was not what I had understood was agreed to. Specifically, we discussed having two additional video cameras for the front and back. But when the technician got here, he said that the work order did not have anything other than the doorbell, the main panel, smoke detector, and so forth. It had things that I did not expect, such as turning lights off and on for the lamp. That wasn't anything that we had agreed to or talked about so I was not a bit happy. Also, I had discussed with the sales rep a backup panel for the master bedroom and according to the technician, that was not provided for at all so I had to pay extra for that.
The technician was very pleasant. He spent six and a half hours here and left with a system that was turned on, but it was a mess. I had big holes in the wall with wires hanging out, a Jerry-rigged system that he had sort of manufactured on the spot, and I didn't have my main panel mounted. And he did not provide the training that he was supposed to provide.
I called and I got someone named Cameron who was very nice. He said that in situations like this, they need to get an experienced technician out here to get things resolved. He said he would have to send me to somebody else who can schedule that. I talked to a guy named Ron who was very sympathetic. I ran through the whole thing with him. He said he was gonna schedule the first appointment he could schedule for me and that it would be on Thursday, June 3rd but that he would put a flag on it that I really want someone here sooner.
I got a call on Tuesday morning from someone from ADT who was extremely hostile and wanted to know what's going on. I told him about the installation and he said he would send the same technician back out here and that the tech needs to learn to do it right. I told him I would not have the tech back on the place because he left things in a mess. Finally, I got a senior person who's been with ADT for 35 years and he got the installations done. Some things have worked, but it's been a rocky road.

The installation was quick and simple the first time, and I didn't get much information about anything. But the second time when we moved and recently had to put the system in again, the install guy was fantastic. He gave me all kinds of information about the system and showed me things I could do with it, which was very helpful. Somebody came by the house trying to sell me exterminator service and he was very impressed when I opened up my garage door with my phone through ADT.

I like the fact that the system notifies me when there's motion around my house and I don't even have to be there. It just connects right to my home and shows me a picture of what's going on. Also, the clarity of the picture is real good, even the voice is good. It picks up the neighbors across the street. The sales rep was able to pass his knowledge about the system along to us very clear but I need to learn more about the system. I need to maybe test the system to understand more of the motion detectors and when it's armed or the function of arming it while I'm in the house, instead of while I'm away. But if anyone asks about ADT, I'd tell them to jump on the opportunity to get it and relieve the stress of anything that they have going on with the security of their home or themselves.

The installation guy made it easy and explained to me how everything worked. Both he and the sales guy were good and friendly. I love the app on this new system and being able to set the alarm remotely. That's a big old plus for me. There are a lot of things there that I haven't utilized, such as controlling my air conditioning system and all kinds of other countless things that I've looked at.

I was in Illinois this morning and got a call from ADT telling me that my backdoor alarm in my Wisconsin house went off. I immediately asked ADT to call the police because there’s nobody in the house. ADT allegedly dispatched security JBM Patrol and Protection but did not see sign of forced entry — But my outdoor cameras showed ADTor IBM patrol never came to my house yet they cleared it against forced entry and did not call the police! According to ADT, their responsibility allegedly ends in calling the security agency. Ridiculous! And don’t trust JBM Patrol and Protection because they most likely do their security check by merely passing in front of your house even though the alarm that went off was the backdoor. Or they probably check on wrong addresses. I was the one who called the police and I drove from one state to another only for the police to find no sign of why ADT’s alarm went off by itself.

Been a customer of ADT for ten years and liked their service. Decided I wanted two cameras installed as I am away from 3 months and want to monitor activities. Put it in 45 days ago for $1K. Worked fine until today when there was a power failure for a couple of hours. When the power came back and the modem and router rebooted, the cameras would not connect. I can tell other systems (ADT alarm and another wifi based monitoring system) came back fine. Tried all possible on-line reboots (remember, I'm gone) but could not connect.
Called ADT and they said there is nothing they can do remotely (like reboot) and needed someone to come out and reboot the cameras. That's just not possible for me as no one is allowed in the house except my 85 year old mother in law who does not get around well. Oh, and she lives 50 miles away. I asked ADT why they couldn't reboot the cameras like then can the alarm. Because, according to them, they don't monitor the cameras and, by design, do not want access. So, I have spent over 1K for a camera system for when I'm away that fails whenever there is a power failure, will not reconnect, and cannot be serviced remotely. All other net-based companies I deal with can do this. I suggest the reader consider someone else.

The installation guy was very, very nice. He was very explainable. Everything was very nice. There was a set of sensors that I already had. The only thing that ADT installed was the smoke detectors. I used to have the cameras where I was at before. But where I'm at right now, I don't need no cameras on there. But everything else is pretty good. I like that I can access my alarm through my cell phone. Instead of rushing to get to the keypad.

The guy that we dealt with was real experienced. He was real talkative and nice. He explained as much as he could to us about the system because it was altogether different than the one we previously had. He did a good job. I commend him. The installer was on time and he did the installation in about an hour. On the front, we have two doors there, the main door and the outside storm door. Both of them are hooked up, and the system does let you know when each one is open. But it’s kinda loud.

I had the ADT system last year at my home in Fremont, California. I thought it would be a good company to work with because it has the cameras. Their rep was okay. I feel that ADT has cheated me though. They have me stuck in this contract for 36 months, which I was told was 24 months. I did not use the service for the last 11 months. I was still charged for it. I moved from the Fremont home to the Southern California house, and I left there and the system was taken off. I thought I can just discontinue the system. They have me stuck into two more year contracts because I was stuck in the three-year contract. So, they charged me 500 more dollars and gave me new equipment. The old equipment that I had was not compatible. Even Microsoft Word or Dell computers don't become incompatible in one year. So, I thought this was another cheating method. The system is okay. It has cameras but the cheating comes with it. I was very dissatisfied.

I'm very satisfied with my experience at the North Carolina location. It was just phone sales and the installer was very professional. As a matter of fact, he was dispatched again. He went to see a battery issue at our place. He was very knowlegeable and I said, “Wow! This is good. I'm going to go with ADT also in Florida.” I signed up and sales came over here in West Palm. Instalation here is a shame. It took an eight-hour installation. The guy's troubleshooting was bad. I had to help him troubleshoot and he didn't check all the contacts when he was initializing the system. One of the contacts up in the bathroom apparently wasn't working so he put another sensor on there. It was wired so we added a wireless but there was a lot of mess.
With the app, when we set this one, I would have two locations on it. He and his boss said, “Oh, well, you need to set it up as it was when you first set it up on your iPhone.” I couldn't do anything with it. I had to look at the temperature on the bottom to know which location I'm looking at because they both said Chris' house and it was very hard to identify. He told me to look at the weather and I said, “Are you kidding me?” I told the guy in North Carolina the issue with the app and he walked me through all the stuff. So now I have one that says Edgebrook Lane and I have another one that says Bridle Spur and I can differentiate between the two.
ADT is a good system but very pricey to add stuff to it. I'm just looking at it right now as a security system. I would like to add a couple of light switches here in Florida. It’s smart switches, but they're through the roof.

The came out the same day. It took him a while because he was having some difficulties with the customer service people on that end. But he did everything and he was great. The system has a lot of options. I have the key fob. I can also arm the system from the pad and from my phone. So, I like the flexibility. If I get upstairs and realize I haven't done it, I can just do it from my phone and put it in.

When the tech showed up for the appointment, his cologne was very loud. He had on so much cologne that after he left, we opened up all the doors and mostly all the windows to try to get his smell out of our house. We have a two-story house. Before he even went upstairs, you could smell it up in our bonus room before he got up there. Also, he was not professional. I've been with ADT for 15 years. If they didn't give me excellent service, I would have then left them. He did not do that. And I have so much trust in ADT that I didn't even inspect his work. After he left, I had to go back to Florida to meet the movers. So I didn't go around and check everything he did.
We upgraded to the best system that ADT carries now. We have all the cameras. But when we came back, he took off the doorbell that was on the property. He just left it laying on the porch, along with the screws. Whatever he needed to install the doorbell camera, he left all of that right there on the step. I live in a golf community, a brand new house on a golf course. And he left all this paper on my door, didn't do anything.
But the most alarming part was what he drilled into when he went to install the doorbell, he messed up the sheetrock. I thought he was going to use the existing holes from the doorbell. But it doesn't look seamless. My whole family has a doorbell camera from ADT. So I know how they're supposed to look and it's a brand new house. If I knew ADT would have left the doorbell looking like that, I would have went and bought me a doorbell camera and got a contractor to come out and do it so it can look clean and seamless to match a brand new home.
But after thinking about it, I called in and escalated that. He didn't leave me any yard signs. I had to call them for yard signs. Also, the camera that is on the driveway side, I lose the connection on it every day. I have to run upstairs and unplug it, reboot it, then it would come back on. I've experienced more complaints with this than I've experienced with ADT ever in 15 years. And it's only because they sent out the wrong technician. I've never called to complain about a technician.
I've moved locations every five to six years I buy a new home and I take ADT with me. And if I got this type of service, I probably wouldn't have. But he was horrible. I wouldn't advise ADT to send him, especially to someone that has a new home. But it doesn't matter if it's new or old, or a shack, cheaper home. It's their home. That's what they're paying for. And I told him this when he called me. He didn't install that doorbell camera like he would do for his house. There's no way he would have left the sheetrock and the holes exposed on a brand new house. And the house is white. He just left it. It doesn't look like a professional did it. It looked like I went out there and tried to install it.

The sales rep was very professional and helpful. He was great. I like the system. I like the door locks. It's pretty cool. I wish I could have done it to the other outside doors because I only did it to one door. Everything was fine with my experience. The only thing was that it was a little troublesome to make the payments. I have to go into a website and record my payment information. They couldn't just take my payment information. It took about 40 minutes for us to get in there because on our phone, I wasn't using the right browser. It was a little complicated. It was not as easy as I thought it would be to make a payment.

ADT scheduled the installation for particular dates. The agent called and they followed up repeatedly saying that everything was still on track. The agent called the installation tech, who then called me and let me know that he was an hour out. The day of, he showed up on time, very courteous, answered all my questions. He consulted me on where he thought things should be set up. He did a great job doing the installation and in walking us through using the system after that. The equipment is top of the line. They function and operate as well as I could have hoped.

We had ADT in a previous house, and they treated us better than Vivint did. However, there is a lack of interface between ADT's sales team and their installation team. Their sales team makes promises that their installation team is not ready to deliver on. I talked with the salesperson before the installer came out, and I told them what I had in my current system, and that I expected to have the same thing plus this extra camera. And they said, “Absolutely, sure.” And then, the same thing included in this particular instance, a thermostat that was controllable through the system. And the salesperson said, “Sure.” But the installer showed up, not knowing anything about the thermostat or the rear camera. The salesperson said, “Oh, well, we use a lot of the hardware you've already bought.” But the installation guys said, “No, we can't use any of this stuff.” That's the only negative I've got about the whole experience so far.
The installer could have done a bit more testing because it turned out that the first time I opened either my garage doors, I ripped the sensor off the mount. So, they've been disabled for the last week. I'm waiting for the installer to be back out Saturday morning. He was fine as an individual. He just did not thoroughly test everything before he went. Also, I need to ask the installer to show me how to get the doorbell camera to tell me when somebody is walking up to the door. Amazon doesn't bother to ring the doorbell when they throw a package on your porch. So, I don't know if something is out there until I open the door. Because the old system, the doorbell camera would tell me, “Hey, we detected a visitor.” This one isn't doing that. And I haven't been able to figure out how to make it do that.
I would recommend ADT, but make sure they clearly spelled everything out. I like their system once it's up and running. They do a good job not just of making the system usable, but I also like that they call once or twice a year and say, “Hey, we need to come out and make sure your system’s working.” I like that level of attention. But you just got to be careful in going through the installation process to make sure you got what you asked for.

ADT gave me a better deal. The rep was very knowledgeable and helpful. And then, the installation was within good timing. The person who did it was very helpful and knew what he was doing. I was very happy with the service that was given to us. I like all the features, especially having the cameras in the doorbell and being able to do that through with my cellphone.

ADT said that for the equipment, the first time would be 2,000. It's expensive. My brother did the same thing but he paid a one-time for installation for 700. Other than that, I like the system.

I had ADT's service about four years ago and it was great. But then I fell on some hardship and had to let my service go. Things are better now, so I wanted to come back and get that service going again. I never had any problems with the service before. With the new service, it's great and updated. I'm still getting the kinks worked out in my brain, like how to work it. But the service tech that came out was a joy. He was wonderful in explaining things and getting things done. He came right in the middle of my morning bible study with a group of ladies and he interacted when we asked him questions. He was really, really good.

The installer's name was Gunner. He was really thorough and very professional. He was a really nice guy. The installation didn't take too long. He showed me everything and it was good to go. The system has the apps. I just pop the app up, arm or disarm. Then it sends me video clips from people who roll up on my street. It's really nice.

I contacted the rep a year and a half ago, right before the pandemic. I kept postponing the installation and asking him to call back. He kept checking back with me periodically, very politely. Also, the installer was very good. He was a nice guy. His name is Miles and he did a good job. Everything was very good. I have the system set for away armed. I checked my mobile app and it still says, “armed”. We just hope everything works, and then do some upgrades later.

I've used ADT before and it worked well, so I decided to go back to them. Everything went really smoothly and I was very satisfied. The technicians showed up on time and they were very thorough and very professional. This system is much more advanced that the one I had eight years ago. My old system had a manual keypad and this one has a touchpad. And I can control the system with my phone, so it is much more updated than the last one.
During the installation, the guys did a good job of explaining the touchpad and the different settings to me. People just need to be aware of what all the keys mean because you have a limited amount of time before the alarms go off, then they trigger activation of police and firefighters, so you have to be quick. But with the phone and the touchpad, the system is really so easy to operate. You run to it, then you can put in your PIN code, and it's deactivated right away. I really like the system overall and I have no complaints.

ADT is predatory and will take advantage of auto pay. After calling ADT to request cancellation of the account of a deceased relative, they intentionally dragged the process on to continue billing my account a whopping 600 plus dollars. After four phone calls over a week long period and twenty plus years of being a loyal customer they basically called my family liars and pretended no one ever called to attempt to cancel the account. Martin in corporate was the final phone call and when I suggested I would inform consumers about my experience online he demanded to know when I ever left ADT positive feedback. I PAID THEM EVERY MONTH FOR TWENTY YEARS. WAS THAT NOT ENOUGH??? The arrogance of this company is astounding. They are NOT worth it. Comcast, Ring, Wyze...take your pick and if you're smart, you will stay away from ADT. I have Comcast at our second home and they are superb. Much more reliable.

The people in the office didn’t do nothing to retain customers. I left because I never got the answer that I was seeking for. I wanted to see if we could get an agreement after my expiration on my time, but the person that I talked to wasn't very helpful. But when Luis reached out to me, I got the answers that I wanted. He was awesome. The technician that came out was super cool. I love him. I’d have him and again and again. The system is awesome. I love the app. It’s very easy to keep my alarm on and off. I've had ADT previously for several years. When I went with them again, the representative was very helpful and thorough. The installation was smooth and it was finished in one day. I like the new system and so far, it's a little bit more complicated than what I had, so I'm not 100% comfortable with it yet, but I'm comfortable enough with it to arm and disarm it.

When I originally called, I told the guy what I wanted. I asked some questions about the doorbell, and this, that and the third. And he told me that the technician will be well equipped to do all that for me. Ryan was wonderful. But for some reason, ADT didn't convey what I initially ordered to him. He came out for something different, just to get the radio activated. But I had one with the doorbell and a door lock, and he didn't know anything about it. But it wasn't his fault. ADT didn't write the ticket for it. And he was so nice. He did what he was there to do to get us activated. Because we had just moved in a new house, and the previous owners had the system and we were just getting activated and get our camera set up.
And then, he told me everything that I needed to tell when I called back to schedule for the door. I appreciated him. Mike came out Tuesday and put on my doorbell and door, and he was just as wonderful. Even in the mistake, the person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful. I called again, I spoke to another person, everything was good. I've been having little hitches with the app. But other than that, I like the service.

I had ADT before and experienced problems. Made the mistake to contract with them again. Never an issue with Briscoe that we use in our office locations. It was hard to get a person to contract. They installed the cam system that stopped working a month later. Called customer service and after 30 minutes trying they sent a tech person. He arrived with attitude blaming my internet. I have Blink cams with no issues at home. Only ADT has problems. Also have two internet carriers RCN and Fios with high speed. They arranged to send another tech person today between 12 pm and 5 pm. A person that did not provide his name called me at 2 PM stating that they were unable to come. He was unable to say at any later time arrival. Decided to quit ADT and post this review so nobody else gets trapped with this lame company.

I'm not happy that I was charged twice, then I was referred to somebody who referred me to somebody, who referred me to somebody who also referred me to somebody about possibly getting my money given back to me, even though they all admitted that it's something that happens. Right now, among the millions of things I have to do, if I don't have the time to follow up or call the 50 people that ADT gives me, they get an extra $80 of my money in their pockets. Billion-dollar ADT, listed on NASDAQ, screws me over for 80 bucks and sends me to bureaucracy, while I got a kid and I got things to do.

I dealt with a good ADT representative. As far as the system, the only problem I have was in my previous location, I had this camera that I bought, and we're paying installment payments for like a five-year installment. But then when I moved to a new house, that camera was no longer useful, so I had to buy another one, which meant that the camera that I just bought a year ago was pretty much useless. They could not use it anymore. That was kind of a bummer because I had to buy another one.

ADT is a popular company. The house that I moved into already had ADT signs on the lawn. I did not compare a bunch of different companies. I just went with it. I also had an ADT coupon. It just seemed simple and easy. I did compare an ADT provider to ADT directly and got a better price because of it. The customer service representative when I originally called was very experienced and helpful. She was great. The technician that came out was friendly, helpful and did the job well. The system is pretty easy to use. I like that I can arm and disarm the alarm system using my phone app. It works and it’s not very obtrusive. All the little pieces of equipment are pretty small and hidden away.

Everything's working out perfectly with ADT. The technician was great. I had ADT previously and then I moved out thinking I was gonna end up selling the house. Then my plans with work changed so I ended up moving back in and getting my system back fired up. I couldn't have been happier because they also gave me an upgrade. They upgraded my panel and my camera. They changed all the batteries, too. They took care of me real good. I love that the app loads much quicker. It's so much more convenient using the new app because I was originally on the Pulse and then I got upgraded to the ADT control. I love the keypad. When I leave in general, I can hit the quick exit. Also, I enjoy that if I were to disable my alarm with the app and I wanted to set it back, I can do that from the app now whereas before, in the Pulse, I didn't have that option. I could only set it on instant from the keypad.

The guys that came out made me fully aware when they walked through the door that they were new to the company for the installing. They let me know that what they might need some help on, they had to reach out to their fellow comrades for assistance. I appreciate them doing that. But all in all, it was a pretty full day of work. For ADT, sending two guys out in training to put a security system on a house, the experience should have been there instead of just putting them out there like that. The training needs to be more put together.

ADT put me on an installation schedule the same day that I made the purchase. The installers were nice guys. There are a couple of things I've been trying to figure out if it actually works the way my old system did. And one is being able to remote unlock the key with the code at the front door. I haven't been able to figure that out. And we used to get an alarm if one of the doors was left open for a long time, and we like that because sometimes we forget to shut the door. My favorite thing about it that I didn't have before is that I can alarm only certain doors. So, if I'm having a party, I can set the alarm on the front door, but we could be going in and out of the back door. That's cool.

Appointment setting with ADT was easy. The only thing was when the installers showed up, they weren't ready to install the camera. They said the contract hadn’t been written out properly. But the managers said it was fine and they wouldn’t charge me anything extra to go ahead and include everything extra that we needed. The installation took a few hours. The installers gave me their personal hours, which was nice. They came back the next day, and whatever didn't work or needed to be readjusted, the installer worked on it on his own time. That was very impressive.

The ADT sales guy, Jared, was lovely. I love him. The installer did everything the way he said it was. The only thing is I don't like the way where he put that glass break sensor. If you close the cabinet door too hard, it goes off. My son comes walking around because I got hardwood floors and toddlers like to stomp and play, and it keeps tripping the thing. I just didn't want to leave a hole in my wall. I may just end up just leaving it where it is and just deal with it. Overall, I’m fine. The tech showed my wife how to adjust the settings for the doorbell camera. There's a glitch in their system, though, because one day when somebody was at the doorbell, I tried to see who was at the door, but it kept saying, "Try again." I have full signal on my phone.

I recently just had a move, and the installer of my ADT system caused $8,000 worth of damage to my electricity in my house. He cut into some wires. I need to call an electrician, and I had to dish out $8,000 waiting on a claim. So, I’m not really happy right now. I’m okay with the system but ADT is still far to making sure that the installers know what they're doing. Whether or not it's contracted out, it's still ADT on the guy’s name on his shirt when he came to my house.

The first conversation I had with a rep was a lot of information because it’s my first home. So the second conversation cleared up any questions that came up. The installation process was good and easy enough. I had some problems with the cameras not working for the first couple days that I troubleshooted. Since we bought our first house back in 2014, we decided, having kids at home, we wanted a security system to feel better. Since we've always had a house, we've always had a security system. We originally went with ADT back then because they happened to knock on our door one day and offer us free installation. Being a loyal customer, we've always stayed with them. Then we ended up moving to an apartment, and we had to end our contracts. It was not a good experience with ADT at that moment.
When we bought our new house two years later, which is the one we just got, we did think about the other companies. We called around to Vivint and different places, and then we were like, “You know what? We'll call ADT again, and just kind of say, ‘Hey, you can make it up to us. What happened and that experience we had, we could consider going with you guys again.’” They were able to give us discounts and show us that they wanted to make it right. They gave us a great deal. We went with them again.
I've not had any complaints from the calling initially to set up, to get prices, to have any appointments scheduled, to the guy that came to my house. The representative that talked with me to the guy who installed was a good customer experience all around. This time, we went with the company's doorbell camera. Last time, it was a Ring doorbell. We feel like with this new one, the visual quality is a lot better. Then we went with an outdoor camera, which is something we've never done before.
The equipment cost and the installation cost are something to compare. We called Vivint, and their equipment cost is $3,000. ADT charged us 1,000. That was a huge difference. The availability was also a factor. They booked me two to three weeks out. Then, they knew how bad I needed it quickly, so they were able to call me and squeeze me in when an appointment came up. I really appreciated that. We ended up getting it off a lot faster than originally scheduled.

ADT was a little bit pricier than I was expecting. But it is what it is. Everything was clear. There was quite a few hiccups in getting the schedule corrected. I was first given one day that didn't work for me. Then while the rep was here, we both agreed on the 28th, which was last Friday. Unfortunately, I received no less than six different emails showing different dates. Some pushed out as far as June 23rd. Then when I called back, they said the earliest date was June 3rd, and then they finally were able to make last Friday happen as originally agreed.

The sales representatives were all very nice and helpful, but I was a little surprised about some invoices I got being I've been a customer for a long time at my other place. I thought somebody could help me with the price. Also, moving from one town to another, we transferred the service over. The pricing was explained very little, because they said the system was hooked up already at the new place. They said they recently ran a check and everything was functioning. When the guy came to install though, he said nothing was working correctly. Apparently, all the connectors on the windows, nothing worked. I spent a considerable amount of money again, which was $457. I wasn't too happy about that. I knew I needed a new panel 'cause it was old, but I didn't expect all this other stuff to occur.
My husband wants to quit the service. I said, "Whatever." I just had the system installed April 26th and I had my apartment painted as well. Unfortunately, the painter took out the transponder on the wall, so I had no AC currents coming in. Yesterday, I had to make a call and the guy was here not even half an hour. ADT charged me another $121, which is a lot of money in addition to the first charge of $457. That's almost $600 in the last month for ADT. The workers are very nice, the system is fine and the monthly charge is no big deal. However, I wish somebody could give me a credit. It's a small condo. I have five windows, a sliding door and a front door. I'm very dissatisfied with the prices ADT gave me.

I've always felt very secure with having ADT. I just moved and I brought it with me. I had to call the rep back because of all the notices of every time the door was opened. I didn't want all that, so he cut it back off. So far, I haven't found any problem. ADT is a good company.

I would like to give an extra accolade to our technician. He was very patient and he went over and above. He saw that I was relocating into a new home, and I was having a lot of problems with the DirecTV technician. Our ADT technician took the extra time to make sure that I was satisfied and knowledgeable about what he was putting in. Then, on his day off, he came in for the last bit of equipment, which was the doorbell and the camera, because I didn't have enough high-speed internet at the time. I really appreciated it.
I was a previous customer for 20 years. I had ADT in the home before my last and I feel like the system is new and improved than it was. I have the best panel that ADT has. It's a little more user-friendly than the ones in the past. The technician spent a lot of time teaching me how to use it and helping me set up the app and all its features. I like it. I have cameras in the back and then I have the doorbell camera, which is my favorite feature. It's superior compared to what I had. I let a Vivint salesman talk me into the doorbell back in 2017 when they first came out and the quality of it isn't as good as this ADT one.

The audio for doors opening is difficult to hear throughout the home. Otherwise it is an okay system. Newer systems are expensive. Mine is four years old. New additions to ADT seem to meet more security needs such as cameras and wifi connectivity.

When I was talking to the ADT lady on the phone before I determined whether or not I was going to get ADT, she said, “Here are some of the reasons people chose ADT. Not that you have to for those same reasons.” I didn't feel she was trying to be pushy. She just gave me some data and she was more than helpful as well as extremely consumer-conscious. The gentleman that came to our house was very helpful and consumer-friendly as well. He was down-to-earth. He took his time, answered questions and didn't try to oversell us. I really like the fact that he also wasn't pushy at all. He told us what they had to offer and he talked about his experience and what he did with his system. I would highly would recommend him. He was amazing.
When the gentleman did the installation, he cleaned up after himself. He talked about where we should place our panel, why this place versus that place, and why some customers like it in certain areas. We didn't even think about that beforehand, so the guy was very good there. When he placed the camera outside, he explained why he was going to put it in that area.
Living in Arizona and where we do, we have a lot of animals and I like the fact that the system catches that and it lets us know what's there. I also like the fact that the panel is extremely easy to operate. I'm not technically challenged, but I didn't want something that was going to be complicated. We used to have one from Xfinity, and it was more complicated. If somebody even needed a referral, I would definitely speak to somebody about ADT. That's how happy we are.

We have had ADT for over 20 years. The service is fairly good, but their technology is not as advanced as Vivint, from what I have observed. The system requires telephone service, so it is landline based which could pose a problem if the power and phones are down. I would prefer some other form of backup to this element of their service.

The house wasn't wired for ADT and four guys from Sioux Valley had to come out and wire it because it was a whole new installment. The system is safe and reasonably easy to use, based on their phone and cameras around the house. So, it's very self-explanatory and everything has been running smoothly. I like the app on the phone where I can monitor my family and kids if I'm gone. It’s cool. If the system goes down at the house for an electrical problem like a rainout or a storm, that's the only disadvantage because it's offline. But other than that, it has good quality. I would recommend ADT because you want to feel safe. Safety is everything and ADT helps. When people see ADT in the yard and see the cameras, it keeps people away from trying to do anything harm to your family to a degree because they know somebody is going to be monitoring it.

Transferring the service to me was seamless. They just had to come and make sure everything is up-to-date. I like the security the system provides but one of my cameras isn't working. I've contacted the regional manager and I haven’t heard back.

When I initially set the service up, I told them that I wanted a camera but they told me it was going to inflate my bill and such. Then, I heard in an ADT advertisement that I can get a free camera and when I called back and asked about it, they said that I can get the free camera but my monthly bill is gonna increase by $25 or $30. I wish the advertisement was a little more informative and it should say something like, "Applicable rates may apply," or something.
Other than that, it was a good experience. I'm not very tech-savvy so I was very intimidated because the system looks complicated. The installer made it very comfortable and he showed me everything. He also downloaded the app on my phone and such. Getting a new gadget and not knowing how to work it is frustrating and he took that away. Also, I like the features that I have pretty good. I especially like the cell phone app because sometimes, I'm running out and I forget to kind of set the alarm. It's really good for my daughter as well. If she leaves, she doesn't have to worry about forgetting something inside the house. We can undo the alarm from the cell phone. That feature really is beneficial for someone like me.

I've been an ADT customer for about 15 years. The first 7 or 8 years, it seemed to work smoothly. Then we started having issues with the system. Battery continuously failing... Even after having several techs come out and troubleshoot, it would eventually (within a few months) start having issues again. Communication between our system and their monitoring system continuously failing too. Finally, and recently, the system just stopped working altogether (couldn't even turn on the alarm). That was it for me. Perhaps their newer systems are more reliable, but I'm washing my hands of them.

The rep was amazing. He was very thorough to explain to me how everything works, downloaded the app on my phone and showed me everything. Now that we have the cameras and the alarm system, I leave my house and I'm not worried about anything. It's great that I can see what's happening. I love my new lock on the door because now, I don't have to worry to look for the keys ever again. It's wonderful. I would definitely recommend ADT.

ADT, is good with monitoring. However, our installer also promised us medical alert necklaces for no charge for my chronically ill child. My husband stayed at the new house with him. Total bill for my free equipment was 6,000. This is for 1500 square foot house. The cost of set up is not worth it. We never got the necklace, called and he couldn’t talk, would get back to me but didn’t. I gave them a 3 strictly because of the monitoring.

I had a sales gentleman named Tyler come out to the house. We talked through the approach and what we wanted to install, which was great. Then the installers, Morgan and John, came out and they were both very nice and very kind. ADT is a pretty easy system and the app has been really user-friendly.

The representative I spoke with was very understanding and tried to do the best he could for us. ADT has good customer service. The only issue I had is when we needed a battery. They replaced the battery but I would rather they follow up with us when they add new equipment or they check the equipment to see how it’s going. A follow-up call would be great. But the technician advised us and called back.

ADT is always here for me if I ever need them for over 20 years! I do feel that they charge more than they should which is causing me not to upgrade the system at this time. I feel that their Technology is not as advanced as it should be especially their cameras.

The system itself is fine, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We had a faulty connection, and the alarm would go off in the middle of the night. We called and ADT said they'd send a tech out the next day. We were given a 5 hour window, which is a ridiculous amount of time to wait. We were told that the tech would call when he was 30 minutes away. So we rearranged our entire schedules to stay home for 5 hours and wait for a call that never came. We had things that had to be done, and after waiting 5 hours for nothing, we left. Fifteen minutes later, the tech calls. He's at our house and nobody's home.
ADT got pretty ignorant with us. We waited and never got a call, and he showed up late. We had to reschedule. So we went through the same thing the next day. He never bothered to either show or call. So for two days in a row, we completely rearranged the other things we had to do so we could wait hours and hours for nothing. By the time we could reschedule, we'd gone an entire week without alarm protection. Needless to say, when the bill comes due, we will be going with another service. No apologies, nothing. This company cares nothing about the safety of its paying customers. We've been with them for 18 years, but not much longer.

The tech's customer service was great. He was very friendly, professional, and gave me everything I needed to know. The equipment was already installed in the home, but it was a little dated, so he just had to update for me.

The techs installed everything they needed to. Our builder gave us a front door keypad that's touchless and the techs were trying to sync it with ADT’s security system and it wasn't working. It turned out there was a glitch with the keypad from the builder. So, we're asking for a replacement and hopefully, the techs can come out once they get the replacement to sync it up properly. Other than that, we have no issues. The doorbell seems to be working fine now. I like the phone app and the accessibility. I have had ADT for seven years. When I moved into my previous property three years ago, it was not as high-tech. But now, it is. We have the sensors and we have a driveway so we can view people outside our place. The keypad now is touchless versus before when I had the old-school type control panel.

The ADT representative, Jeff, was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Also, the guy that did the installation did a wonderful job. One day was all it took and he was done. I like the system a lot. I like the availability online and being able to access it through my phone.

Always were reliable and with USAA as your bank, you get a reduction on your home insurance. Also when you move and transfer services, they come out and reconnect with more financial perks. Having the newer technology available such as Cameras, I cannot wait until I can Use this service in my new home.
