The light for the front porch was not coming on when the doorbell was activated. ADT came by and said that they did something. Said it was working. But the next night, whenever our doorbell was rung, it did not work. I called them back. They finally figured out what it was and got it working right.

Sometimes, the system goes down and I call ADT and they fix it. The phone app is good and I like it. I’m remote and I check my backyard, the parking lot, the door lock and the garage lock. I don’t have any complaints and I’m gonna keep using ADT.

I’ve had ADT for over 45 years and it costs too much. The service is okay. It’s average, not efficient.

The unit was so old that the buttons you pushed to set it were wearing out. They were little things that stuck up and when you push them down, they didn't always connect. ADT put a new panel in and the new panel is easier to set and arm and disarm because you're just touching it. You're not pushing a button that has to go down so the new technology makes it easier to set to arm and disarm the unit. We added a room and we had to move the sensor that was on what used to be the sliding patio door to the new back door, and the techs came out and did that, and that worked out fine. We haven't had any break-ins so we haven't had any need to notify ADT. So it's like they haven't done anything, but that's good. The few times we dealt with customer service has been positive. It's very limited but at any time I contacted them, everything got taken care of right away.

ADT was referred by the person who sold the house to the owner. It’s what most people use in that area. It has been good and we would recommend it.

We signed up with ADT 15+ years ago and we upgraded when we moved to a larger house. If there was another company with a more competitive price, we would explore that. ADT’s prices are not as competitive as some other companies. But in our particular situation, they took over an existing alarm system and there were no other security companies doing that. So, we were triangulated into sticking with them. But ADT has a perfectly good customer service. The reps are nice folks and very helpful up to and including my most recent conversation. The price keeps going up though. You already have the system but they want to nickel and dime you to use the basic app, which is a given for any kind of modern product. So, it's a little bit off-putting that you're spending so much and they're still going to make you jump through hoops to use what should be an inherent part of the system.

The battery in the sensor was going out and I did not understand the message that the main board was giving. So, I made a phone call and the agent explained. It was a brief conversation but it was very helpful. It seems like I get a notice once a month that the service is working. Overall, I'm pleased. The whole package came with the house. It seems to be a very complete system and functioning just as it should. I'm satisfied and I certainly wouldn't discourage people from using ADT.

I need a security system so I've kept ADT. I’ve had them for five years. I added a motion sensor in one of the rooms and it took the techs 20 minutes to do the installation. They were great.

A home security system was already installed in the home that I bought and a salesman showed up at my door one day, right after I bought the house. He talked me into getting ADT. I was not pleased with how they coerced me. At some point, they said it was required to switch the objects that were already here at the house. A new system was being installed and it needed to all match up to some model number. So they switched everything.
The customer service was responsive when I reached out to them. But I didn’t prefer their answer. It was shortly after I had the system installed when I was second-guessing. But it was too late because I was already locked into a contract. So they told me that there was nothing they could do for me. The reps are salespeople trying to sell something to you. Everybody has different living situations or what they need a product like ADT for. So they need to make sure that they need the product before they agree to it.

I've had ADT for over 30 years and I started with them because they were one of the only companies out there but they’re a reputable company. I didn't have to look up reviews because I knew by word of mouth that it was a good company. I've already recommended them to several friends. I've had to change the way the system was configured to a more up-to-date one because it was old. I have had trouble setting up my system because there's one sensor that needs a battery. We can't locate it and we don't know which one it is. The ADT people finally came out, thought they found it and cut the sensor down. Then, we tried to alarm it and it wouldn't work unless the sensor that was taken down was also hooked up. So, we have a problem to the point that maybe all of them need to be taken down and redone. But that's a big expense. I'm at an impasse because I'm paying each month but I'm not alarming my system all the time.

ADT is convenient. I had to have a technician come out a couple of times for wear and tear on the battery and stuff. Schedule-wise, it was done at the appropriate time. It's just lately, I have not been satisfied with them at all. They try to charge me for a new panel and all kinds of stuff. It was like $1,000 worth of stuff. They were like, "Well, you have to purchase that yourself." I was like, "Well, if I'm paying for a service, equipment should be included." I'm looking to switch over to a different company because I'm not happy with that. I wouldn't recommend ADT because of how they try to get you for every little thing. They're really pushy as far as the upsells.

When our alarm went off, they serviced it. It took them a while, but they realized that it was our blinds that covered our windows causing the alarm to go off prematurely. They came in, replaced something in the window and put something in the living room area of our home. The overall security features of ADT are fine. They do what they're supposed to.

My ADT experience is wretched. I had to unplug my system because it kept going off in the middle of the night. I called and got nowhere with ADT. I asked if someone could come and repair it, check it out, see if it worked, and they seemed very reluctant to send anyone. So, I just unplugged it. I don't use it, and they keep sending me emails telling me how wonderful it is that my system is working 100%. It's totally unplugged.

The installers did a good job. They knew what they were doing. It was a quick process. ADT was too expensive, but I feel relaxed knowing that I have the alarm system in my home. I love it.

When I had the shop, I had ADT for four years. Wonderful. If had a problem, somebody was out there quick to take care of things. ADT was able to do what I wanted. But when I bought a house, I did not know that this company that came out to install ADT was not part of ADT. I had nothing but problems. My system doesn't work right. And I'm stuck paying for crap for three years. They're some sub company not associated with ADT. They just sell ADT products. They told me they could rectify it for $1,800. The bad thing is, when I called ADT, they said, "Sir, if you're not happy with the service, we'll cancel it. No hard feelings." I would have to continue to pay ADT for three years and have ADT as a security system on this house or pay out $1,800 to cancel the contract. ADT should get rid of all of these fly-by-night companies like that because they do nothing but a rip-off. But the actual ADT is great.

I'm not a happy customer with ADT. None of my systems work and I have been trying to cancel a system that I have not owned in three years. I've sold the house and the new owners don't want it. I called last week trying to cancel it and I talked to five different people saying all the same things. They can’t cancel and they’ve got to send me to another person. ADT is sending me bills and threatening to ruin my credit. I went to my bank and stopped the automatic payment. I would call and cancel and they would still keep subtracting from my bank. Now I'm still paying for one ADT service and it doesn't work. They need to quit sending me bills on that house. I tried to set up a service appointment and ADT wouldn't do it. They wanna walk me through it over my phone. But we can’t fix it on the phone. It's a home that my mother left me and I don't live there.

ADT is well known and they have good service, and I'm very happy with them. I call them up if I have a question. I've had a very good experience with their customer service. I didn't know much about the electronic system and the rep answered my questions.

ADT is very alert. Whenever I make pancakes and burn them, they call right away or they send the fire truck. So, they're keeping things monitored. I’ve been with them for 24 years because we’re satisfied with how they do their business and keep track of when the alarm goes off. We’re satisfied with the features of the system but about a year ago, we had a new control panel put in. It was a newer model and it works much better. The other one was outdated and you couldn't push the numbers and the little rubber things were worn out. The tech was very friendly, nice and helpful.

We called ADT and asked them what kind of packages they had at the time. They had free installation for the system so their technician came out and put it all in for nothing. It was quick. We got it when we bought this house so it’s been 11 years. There are other options out today that weren't available when we bought it. Ring and all the other vendors didn't exist then. It was ADT or private local people.
The contractor came out and updated the cellular modem one time. He couldn’t get it to work. He couldn’t get coverage in my basement and I told him to put it someplace else. He said it would have to be rescheduled and they would come back out. And that was two years ago. The system still works as long as the internet is working. But my internet is cellular so if the cellular goes out, then it’s no use. It's just sitting down there. I could call ADT but I never have and that's partially my fault for never calling them back and telling them to come back and fix it. They should have ensured it worked before they left but I get it, it's a contractor. It's been a good experience with ADT. But they keep trying to raise our monitoring rates on us. The system hasn't changed over the last 10 years and I’m paying for the internet for it to work. Typically, we call ADT and talk to them, and they roll it back to the original price. But it's still a hassle.

The system works well if the door is open or if I wanna look outside and see. But sometimes, it's like a fog is on the camera. But other than that, everything else is okay. I only had to have assistance one time since I had the system. I had two doors open and the alarm went off. And I couldn't remember the code. I had to shut it off and the rep helped me. It was nice and she didn't stay on the phone long. She ran me right through it. ADT is a good company and I would recommend it. My friends and my mom have had the system since I told them about it. I said I have ADT and the sign is out front. That makes people cautious seeing that ADT sign out front and the stickers on the door. Even before I had ADT, I had no problem with nobody breaking in or doing anything like that but I still wanna keep it. I wanna be safe rather than sorry.

I recently had a new ADT security system installed at my home, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer! The seven Google Nest cameras are absolutely fantastic. They have this amazing ability to quickly detect and alert you to any person seen on your smartphone from up to 300 feet away. What's even better is that they only alert you if a person is detected, and you can even customize the cameras to detect any moving object. Plus, the cameras store their recordings for a generous 60 days. And let's not forget about the motion sensors - they work like a charm! The phone app that comes with the system is packed with features that are super handy.
Honestly, I haven't felt the need to tweak anything because the ADT system is just that good out of the box. And here's a big bonus - all the installers are ADT employees, no subcontractors involved. Trust me, that's a rare find these days. So, do yourself a favor and reach out to ADT for the best security system in America. You won't regret it, I promise! A very satisfied customer here, David.

They told me there was a 200 dollar credit coupon for signing up but they never send it. I spent 3 phone calls and talked through their chat and they just give you the run around to different departments and then the call drops. Wasted so much time for something they owe me. The worst customer service. Lucas RR on the chat feature wasted my time and refused to let me speak to a manager and then told me to call the FOSC team saying they are the ones that help. Turns out the FOSC team deals with scheduling. They are the worst and then I ask to speak with their manager who hangs up the phone on me in the middle of talking. I'm not going to call a 4th time to wait on hold. I will be complaining on Google, BBB and any other place so people know how horrible they are.

I’ve had the alarm system since 2016. At first everything was great with no issues. Sometime later in 2022 we were told we needed and upgraded with 5G capabilities. The price was put into our billing service, and we went ahead with the upgrade which they stated we required. After the upgrade we began having issues with the cameras and sensors. I made numerous calls to ADT which then would send a Tech to correct the issues. When the tech comes to correct any issues like sensors malfunctioning, the camera issues would disappear. Sometime in April of 2024 I contacted ADT and notified them of our sensor door malfunctioning and our cameras being out for close to a month. ADT could not resolve the issues and stated they would send a tech out to our home.
ADT waived our bill for the month due to this ongoing issue of cameras or sensors not working. We were told it would take almost a month before the tech could come out to correct any issue. The tech was scheduled to come out to my home on May 13, 2024. Mind you since 2016 I’ve been paying my bill faithfully. When the tech finally came out, he corrected the issue of the sensor for the door and then I was told for him to check the cameras I would be charged $150.00 for the first 30 minutes and any additional 30 minutes would run at $150.00 more. I explained to the tech ADT representative never mentioned the charge. I told the tech to stop, and I would be contacting ADT.
When I contacted ADT on May 13, 2024, after the tech left, I mentioned since 2016 I’ve been a faithful client and since the upgrade we have been having issues with the cameras. And it seems ADT is not willing to fix the issue and my home is not secured 100%. The ADT representative stated he could not do anything else. And at this point I was not breaking the contract, but ADT was breaking the contract by not providing the correct security for my home. I went ahead and wrote a letter requesting cancellation due to the failure of ADT not being able to secure my home. I received a phone call the following day and mentioned to them of my decision. The representative stated he would put in the cancellation.
On June 17, 2024, I was charged my next bill, I immediately contacted ADT and mentioned to them why was I still being charged. They stated it was due to me still owning equipment and it would not be feasible to terminate. I stated ADT is the one breaking the contract when it cannot live by its obligations to secure my home. We went back and forth to whoever was breaking the contract ADT terminated my contract and stated, "You will receive an invoice and you might still be liable for the equipment." On June 19, 2024, close to $500.00 was deducted from my checking account. ADT should be ashamed of themselves. I suggest if you are looking for an alarm system don’t go with ADT.

ADT is the worst home security company. They can't be trusted. I am a disabled veteran and do not appreciate all the lies that ADT has been telling. They said they will send their technician to install equipment. When the tech came, he was in a ADT vehicle wearing ADT clothing. When I had an issue a few weeks later, I was told that I had to pay for LVD Concepts Inc to come reconnect my back camera. I later found out that the tech from LVD Concepts was the one wearing ADT clothing and driving an ADT vehicle. I was totally unaware that another company was in my home. Please do your research and do not trust ADT. I am very disappointed in their lack of professional & dishonesty.

DO NOT GET SERVICES WITH ADT!!!! They are the most CORRUPT business on planet Earth!!! Their customer service is garbage! Anytime you call the worthless thugs you get somebody from a foreign country who can't speak English. Their products are trash!! My video doorcam was improperly installed from day 1. A child of 3 years old could of done a better job. The security panel rarely worked properly. I had the ABSOLUTE DISPLEASURE of dealing with these stupid thugs for 2 years.
Upon moving out of state and having the new buyers take over my services, these greedy thugs tried charging me with a cancellation fee, then tried charging me for a transfer fee and when that didn't work the snakes came back and again are trying to charge me again for a cancellation fee, after I was told by these idiots that I could avoid a cancellation fee by having the new owners take over my services!! They lie, scam and screw you out of money so they can make a quick buck off of you!! They are never transparent or honest!! They are more corrupt than any company in the US. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ADT, SAFE HAVEN "their alias" etc!!! TOTAL SCUMBAGS!!! THEY DESERVE NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!!

The system works good. Coming home, you know nothing's in your house or was in your house. ADT should offer people cameras. If I wouldn't be paying for that, I would just have a door Ring cam. But the experience has been great so far. I just don't like the three-year contract. It’s $50 a month. It's a three year contract you can't get out of.

The ADT salesman came to the house and told me many things. He said two things that sold me. Number one, if our alarm went off, they would come to the house to verify before they called the police so there wouldn't be any problems with us calling the Warren police for false alarms. That was fantastic. Because I've heard horror stories where alarms have gone off and people would be out of the area and the police come, and people would get a bill. The other thing he said was, "And the great thing is we set the system up for you. And then any time you need any repairs or the batteries in the big thing need to be redone, just call us and we'll come and do it." They were a little more than other people. But I'm happy to pay the extra.
Mother's Day, we had gone up north. The alarm went off on my phone and I had no idea what was going on. When I got back home, I contacted ADT and asked, "Why did the Warren police come?" "Your alarm went off and no one answered it." I said, "Yeah. But supposedly, you guys are supposed to..." "That's only in certain areas." But that's not what the salesman said.
The person I spoke to said, "No, it's in gated areas only." I said, "Someone should have told me that because Lord knows Warren ain't gated." I was upset and told them that's not what they had promised. I asked if they could come and fix this it. "We can walk you through it." I said, "What do you mean walk me through it? You told me that you would come and fix this stuff." They said, "We will, but it's a $60 charge to come to the house." And I said, "That is not what you told me either." I got very upset and I spoke to a manager who said, "Very sorry. You understood that wrong." I said, "I didn't understand it wrong if you would have said, 'But you don't have it in that area.'"
They gave me two months free monitoring to make up for it. And at this point, I already got it set up, I've already got the signage out, I've already set it up for autopay. I'm angry with ADT, but I'm not gonna go through a new company because it's a pain. After those two months, everything was on autopay. I didn't wanna deal with it. I didn't pay attention to that account that the money was taken out of because I put money in it.
Six months went by and I got calls and thought they were sales calls and I would just hang up or delete. I noticed getting the same calls from the same number. I finally answered it and it was ADT. They were very upset because I'm six months past due in my payments on my monitoring. I said, "What? It's on autopay. I see money being taken out by ADT every month now." Stupid me, I never looked close enough. What was being taken out every month was the equipment. Once they gave me those two free months, they never put it back on autopay. Maybe they couldn't and they misunderstood.
We tried it again. I had one lady tell me, "If this doesn't take, you call back and ask for me and I will credit you the month because this is just crazy." It didn't work. I called her, but she doesn't exist there anymore. I would explain this story over and over every time and I would be frustrated because, when they would call, they would act as if it was a brand-new situation. It was three months ago we finally got it solved, where I have not had a problem since.
I went out with my sister last month and I got a text message while I was with her from ADT saying that I was past due. I called them and the person said, there was a problem with their entire system that everybody got this past due notice. I said, "Okay. So that's a tech issue." He said, "No, you're up to date. Everything's fine. You're on autopay."

The guy that sold me the contract for $10,000 only put in a few things and never even put the sirens in. I had to have ADT come back out and put sirens. But they didn't believe me and they sent somebody out of Murphy, and they said, "You're right. There are no sirens in the house." I've just learned to live with it. I live in the mountain, Blue Ridge, on dirt road and ADT contactors would not come and fix anything. One of the sensors would not connect so I couldn't put the ADT on at night. And if I talked to them, I couldn't understand whoever I was talking to. They would try to tell me how to pass it by and, that way, I could still put my alarm on. I'm 76. They told me to find a neighbor and get the neighbor to look at it. I would like to have the system working. I'm not happy.

I've had ADT for 13 plus years. They were the ones that were top of the market at the time. The sales rep is good. The sales team is good. The people that come out to work on the system are good. It's just the product sucks. When the alarm goes off, their response is not good either. I've had my alarm go off several times without getting a phone call or the people on my list getting a phone call or even the police being called. I would never recommend them to anybody. I've just had them for so long and use them, that I just haven't taken the time to change it.

I like the features of my ADT system. It says when it's time to change the battery on one of my sensors and then if the payment is behind. Still, the performance could be a little better. In the middle of the night, it starts beeping loudly when a smoke detector needs a battery and you can't open it up and change the battery. I've got to go through a whole process where I have to shut down the system. I had to call them to tell me it was the motion sensor that broke and it was 100 and some dollars to replace. I'm not gonna replace it and they finally shut it down. I want to just press the button on my keypad and shut the system off, change the battery, put the cap back on, and turn the system back on. You can't do that. Everything has to be that way. It's hard. Getting somebody to help me change the battery is a long drawn-out process.
Getting in contact with an actual person is not that hard. But it's like they get frustrated and then they say, "Okay. Well, we can call a tech for you." I don't want a tech. I wanna replace the battery. I don't wanna wake up in the middle of the night with this beeping and then have to deal with the beeping, the resetting, and the test setting all night long. One time, I was supposed to shut down the system to replace the battery, and they shut down the wrong one. I gave in and said, "Send the tech." The tech came and he said, "Well, your problem is when they shut it down, they shut down the wrong sensor." Overall, I don't want to complain about the company because they have been helpful, but that battery thing is a pain in my rear end.
Also, I can't get ahold of the automatic billing payment thing. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I tried to go to the website on my phone and it goes to a blank screen. I have reached out and talked to somebody, and that was a pleasant experience. I would tell others to give ADT a shot. They're a big company. I like their equipment. It's easy to operate.

I had a terrible experience with who put in the system which represented themselves as ADT. I don't even use my system and I'm paying $4,000 on it. I called ADT. After several calls, they said, "I'm sorry, but this isn't somebody that we farmed out to." Since then, the stuff has started on fire and they have done nothing and I'm still paying on it. I will never use ADT again. They said if I want it fixed, I can pay for it. I even have it documented by another ADT representative saying, "Yeah, it isn't good equipment. But if you want us to fix it, you can pay for new equipment." I was like, "No."

The customer service people were fairly nice. They did about whatever they could do. One young lady reduced the bill a little bit. So I appreciate that. But based upon my experience with using ADT, it's just not really that great for my home. Somebody else may find it to be beneficial.

I have two ADT systems, one in Maryland and one at another location. I don't use it to the fullest but so far, so good. I just don't like the big sensor that they put on the door. I just think that ADT in this modern modern era does not have to put a big, white, block sensor on doors. It's not appealing to me. I guess that's the best they can do but they really need to make it a little bit more appealing to your household. It's big enough for me to be distasteful. I would like to have a keyless lock on my front door, but it would add more to my bill, and I didn't want to do that. I wish I could just buy a keyless lock without having the service added to my service. I already have the service, so I don't understand why I have to pay for that every month to have a keyless lock.

ADT didn't give me all the details. I found out information that was not given to me at the time when I signed up. They told me I had two years to cancel the contract. But now, it seems to be five years. There were a lot of hidden details that were not given to me. The service is not what they disclosed at the time of when I signed up. Everything was wonderful, but now it’s not the best company for my needs. They quoted me one price, and now I get two different charges every month on my bill. It's really very stressful.
They're not monitoring anything because the system hasn't worked for months. Everything has a charge. Someone has to come in and reset the alarm system because I had a contractor that removed one of the devices from one of the windows downstairs in the basement. They have to come and reinstall it, and there is a charge for that. But no one has bothered to come and check. No one called me. I tried to set up another appointment and they tried to walk me through over the phone, but it's very complicated. You stay on the phone for over 30 minutes. I wish I had the money to cancel the contract. But right now I don't have the means to do so, so I'm stuck with them for the next three years.

When I first ordered my system, it went wrong from day one. I specified exactly where I wanted the sensors and what I wanted covered when I ordered the system. The guy who came out the first time didn't bring any of this stuff. He told me that was not what I needed and then told me what I needed. He said, "Oh, this is what I have on me. This is what was supposed to be installed." But I told him that was not what was supposed to be installed. I never asked for cameras inside of my home. There were dead spots. The doors and windows weren't covered. So, I told him, "No."
ADT came back a week later. They started doing the system the way I requested to have for all the windows and the doors. I don't need people inside my home surveillance. That was never requested. There are still dead spots. Upon looking through all of the windows, I still have windows that are not sensored like they were supposed to. I've called ADT several times about that. In the yard, there's one camera. But there's supposed to be a second camera that was never installed. I've asked them to show me the breakdown of the bill where those things weren't charged, but I have not received that. All I got was a bill that said, "ADT system installation," and the total, but it did not give a specific breakdown of exactly how many cameras or equipment. I never got what I paid for. I've called several times. I've complained about it to the point where it was nothing. It was like once they had my signature and my money, it was whatever they wanted to do.
I reached out to ADT again recently to inquire because I heard that they had some new technology and I also asked them if they buy back the equipment. I've never expressed my problems with the system and I can't hear the doorbell. The camera at the door is always going out. I've constantly complained about the system and I've been dissatisfied from day one. I want ADT to come and uninstall it because it's trash. It does nothing. It doesn't serve my purpose. On the side of my house where there's a whole other door, the camera was never installed there. But I was told, "Oh, both of your cameras in the back are installed. All your doors and windows are secure." So, when I signed, I was under the belief that they did what they were contracted to do, but they didn't and it's been a problem since then.

I feel like I'm stuck because the contract with ADT is over, but the cameras are there. The camera backup does not happen. Also, their cost keeps on increasing higher every single time. So the first opportunity I get, I will get rid of ADT. I got them in 2017 when I bought my house. They came in and, in my initial package, they did not give me any offer. I almost paid a hefty amount, somewhere around 2,500 for the cameras and all the things done. But overall, service-wise, it's not bad. But that service is common across every provider. ADT's customer care sucks. When you're increasing somebody's monthly bill, you have to inform them that there is an increase coming up. But I get the surprise when it gets deducted. Then when I call, they say, "Well, yeah, there was a price raise." ADT is not a very impressive thing with the cost I pay.

I'm doing Airbnb at the home the security system was installed and the first week that I was there, the alarm went off in the middle of the night. That happened three times. I would walk around the house looking for a fire and they would tell me they were sending the fire department. I would call to say to not send the fire department and that there was nothing wrong. I told them it was unacceptable. If I had clients here, I'd have to reimburse them for the night’s stay, which is $450. They sent out their best tech and he said whoever installed it did not know what they were doing. He reinstalled all the sensors and did some stuff with the control panel. But that night, at about 2:00 in the morning, the alarms went off again.
It went off eight times like that -- sometimes with people in there. On the eighth time that it happened, I had just left my home to go stay with my son and it was about 11:30 at night. I went running back to the house because the people that were staying there called me. I keyed in my code on the control panel about 20 times to finally shut it off. Then, when I was driving to my son's house again, he called me and said the police were coming to my house. I also got a call from ADT saying the fire trucks had been dispatched. The clients that were staying there called me and said the alarm was going off again. So, in the middle of the night, fire trucks came and I had a neighbor say it had to stop and that I was disrupting the entire neighborhood because those alarms are so loud and the houses are so close together. Also, I've reimbursed $450 twice. They are destroying my business but they don't seem to care about that. It has been an absolute nightmare.
We've had their tech come out five times. ADT sent their so-called best guy out and he's a really nice guy. But he said I can't use ADT with Airbnb sites because I gotta be there to control the control panel. I told him that's the other thing their sales person told me -- that I can control everything on my mobile device, which is not true. Now, I guess ADT is changing that to make it true. But I've lost all faith in them. I've since installed all battery-operated smoke detectors throughout the house and their tech took out all the ADT batteries. I use the cameras, but there are no alarms that'll go off.
They were gonna charge me 300 and some dollars but I said I wasn't paying it because they didn't live up to their part of the contract and they took off the 300 and some dollars I owe. I'm just waiting on a new bill to show up but it's been a month and a half since the guy was here and I haven't received that $75 bill. It has not even been a full year since I've had ADT and I have sent certified letters to their legal team and their customer support team but I never heard anything back.

I'm not happy with ADT. When I got the security and the guy came in, I had to leave the next day because I had to go to my mom. When I came back, I was gonna call them to cancel but my mom passed away and I didn't get a chance to call them. When I came back, I told them I was going to cancel it but I hadn't had the chance to because of the situation. I had to go all the way down to Texas and Louisiana. But they said I'm new to the thing and I can't cancel.
Then when I just got laid off a month ago, I asked if they could take things out so the bill could be less every month but I still want the camera and the door thing and they said they couldn't do that because I just had the thing. They gave me credit and they helped me with two months' payment but I'm still unemployed and I gotta resume payment in July. I was telling them I can't pay all of it but they didn't wanna work with me at all. I've been going back and forth with them.
Also, I don't like the camera. I just saw on Sunday that somebody came and took a chair but they didn't catch that. I saw that at 7:40, my chair was by my door but I couldn't see anything until later then I saw the chair was somewhere else. But I didn't see the person coming up to the door taking the chair. I'm very dissatisfied because they could have taken me out of the contract when I asked them and they don't wanna take me out of the situation when I told them I got laid off.

I was contacted late October about hooking up an ADT alarm system in my house. I had ADT over 15 years ago and cut it off due to poor service, false alarms, and never getting techs out to work on the equipment so I told them I was not interested. But the operator assured me that things have changed and that it's 10 times better. I explained to her at that time they did a charge off 13 years ago and she talked to her supervisor and they got the charge off removed. They were gonna reestablish the service and put in a new system. After three hours, I finally gave in.
I got it installed on the last week of October and on the first week of December, I had a false alarm. I called ADT and it took two weeks for them to come out and service it. Then, on the week of Christmas, I had another false alarm. I called and they refused to come out and service it because they said it was a low battery. They just installed this, but they did not check the old system. They said they were not coming out to service unless I paid a $200 service fee.
I got a call on the first week of January that I have a balance due from 13 years ago. I said that was waived by the supervisor. Fast forward to now, I get a phone call from them at least three times a week and multiple times during that day and the same thing happens. And when I get a phone call, I get transferred multiple times so I have to start over and tell the next operator the same thing I've already told the other operator. I get transferred from every department under the moon and I still get the same poor customer service. Then, someone follows up the next day saying they need to collect the past due balance. They cannot go back and reactivate an old charge off. I've told them to come get this system out of my house and it's still in the house.

I've been with them for almost 20 years and they tried to raise the rate up but I told them to terminate the contract. So, they referred me to their retention program. I told them I'd go to another company, I'd do it myself, and it'd be cheaper. They dropped down the prices and gave me all the upgrades that another company has to offer. But it's kind of hard for me to terminate them when they saved my son's life. One day, I was in California and at 10 o'clock at night, which is one o'clock in the morning here, they called me up in San Diego that my smoke alarm was going on. I woke the neighbors up and they came over. My son left the an empty pan on the stove. He turned the knob off, but did not click off, so it was a very low heat. They woke him up and it was all smoke in the house. They saved my son's life that night. Also, I have five additional fire and smoke alarm in the house but none of those alarms went off. Just ADT’s. ADT works and I'm sticking to it.

I have had the most horrible experience with ADT. Every time I call I am told something different. Scheduled a tech to come out and reconnect my cameras due to me getting new WiFi. When I called the representative said I would have to pay. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she was very nice. She “waived” the fee. The technician shows up demanding $. I advised him of what the supervisor at ADT said. He had no regard and said he was following his boss's orders. Then he left. I asked him to wait until I call ADT and he mentioned he didn’t have to. I spoke to ADT after he left, they scheduled him to come back same day and he canceled the appointment without notifying me.
I call ADT again, they rescheduled it for about a week out and assured me I wouldn’t have a problem. The technician came out a week later demanding $ again. This tech was willing to stay while I called ADT. I had a supervisor on the phone with me from ADT he had his supervisor on his phone. 1 hour standing in my driveway arguing over whether I was going to pay or not. This is unprofessional and bad business.

ADT has been responsive when I've had problems. If I have a false alarm, I know that they're gonna contact me or they're gonna follow through on whatever needs to be done. We've had to upgrade through the years and the last time we upgraded was when we were going to the wireless system. We have an adobe home with very thick walls and we needed an extender. Initially, the techs were not aware of that so they had to come back and fix that. They were excellent at pointing out what we needed. We got the Home Nest through Google and we bought it through ADT and the reps explained all the pros and cons. The techs set it up and it's working like a charm. So, it's that kind of reliability that I appreciate.
The reps take their time in explaining something. If we have an alarm that’s going off or it’s not working quite right, going through the website is not always practical. And if I have to call in, they walk me through the steps to get it so nobody has to come out. So, I appreciate the versatility of the type of customer service that ADT is offering. It's not one size fits all. I'm like everybody else and I wish the price was a little bit less. ADT has had a hard time adjusting my billing. Every three months, I do an electronic transfer and there's a late charge that's being posted to me. So, they have to take off either $2 or $3 almost every quarter. And it's frustrating. This has been going on for several years now and no one ever knows where this charge comes up or why it's even posted this way. But ADT always refunds my money. It's just bizarre.
We took the plan that ADT had with the equipment that was upgraded and extended when we went to the wireless system. It was a very nice plan of being able to do several years without any interest. But I'm not sure if it's related to that. The last time I spoke to one of the agents, she thought that this crazy charge that I've been seeing is not going to be posted now that I'm just paying for the typical maintenance service charge. That's the one complaint I have because it's beyond me that no one can figure this out. It’s very frustrating.
I have to make the call and it's a waste of ADT’s staff's time to chase after this. And I feel bad because it's only $3. But that can add to $36 a year and if this happens to multiple customers, that's a little bit of a gravy boat for ADT. I look at it from a very broad perspective. I can afford this but the woman next door may not be able to if she's even aware of it. It's a charge that should not be there because you can't have a late charge if it's an EFT payment because they just get it electronically transferred on the date that it's due.
I lost my 35-year companion this past year so I had to change a lot of the business stuff. I had to call ADT because the app was under his email and I wanted everything changed. The reps were extremely helpful, very empathetic and kind. In a matter of 10 to 15 minutes, everything was good to go. People are compassionate at ADT. I've never had a situation where somebody sounded impatient or frustrated. We’re older and we weren’t born with all the electronics stuff but ADT's people have always been extremely helpful.

The experience with ADT was good, except they sent the wrong battery. But they’re gonna send the right one. The reps said that they would order it and it would probably be here in a day or so, and then my son will put it in. Once the system is installed and it works, that's what it's all about. I feel safer with it. The features are excellent.

When we signed the contract a few years ago, the experience was not good. We were rushed into it and we thought ADT was great, and then somehow, we couldn't have what was offered. So, it was an awkward situation. The reps said one thing and we ended up getting something else. We were very frustrated back then. ADT has been with us for many years but we couldn’t have the cameras installed. We pay a high amount and we don't have anything. There are many offers that are much cheaper than ADT which my husband has been dreading every time to cancel. But because we need to sit for the period of time, he never changed anything. We were offered something else that we could not get and we just let that roll and go. But all of my friends have been getting other kinds of security right now for much cheaper than we have and many more benefits than we have. So, we are about to switch at any time.

I've been with ADT for three years now and they are the worst company I've ever done business with. None of them are on the same page. Every time you call, you are told something different. I had a technician in my yard for over an hour arguing with me that I had to pay him on demand and this person on the phone told me I didn't have to. I thought that was very unprofessional that I was arguing with a supervisor on the phone and a supervisor in my driveway, both of them were telling me two separate things. That's very bad business no matter what something is. I hate ADT. I need them because there's no one else in my area. But the minute I can get out of this contract, I'm leaving ADT.

I've been using ADT for 30 years now. Every time I have an issue and I call, somebody helps me. It's more difficult now with the call center, but they still put you through. The reps are very good, too. It's expensive. But it's better than not having it. With this new wireless system, no one can cut your phone line connection. It's better from that standpoint. If somebody wants to break in, they're just gonna break in.

Signing up with ADT was easy. It took less than 10 minutes on my phone. I like the cameras. I have the Google Nest camera and the drive-through camera. They're both 1080p, 60 frames per second. I could program the names into the camera for people who usually walk by my house or those who come inside. It also functions exactly how I thought it would and it runs smoothly. It gives you peace of mind knowing that your house is safe when you're not at home and that you can monitor what actions are going on outside of your house. It also gives you peace of mind knowing that you have a backup in case something bad were to happen, like a home invasion or someone taking your mail, you have proof that it happened.

ADT has a good security plan, and they have done a good job. However, they did a lousy job repairing my system and I got into a big dispute with them that they refused to resolve. They are very difficult to communicate with. They send emails that I can't respond to, and they ignore letters that I send to them. I try in as many ways as I can to find someone who's responsive in trying to solve problems. I finally found someone who, because of her persistence, solved it after about three months and she said she had to argue through a whole hierarchy of people who were just ignorant about what they were doing.
I have two systems. I have a system in place in one locale. It's got a communication problem that's difficult for me to get someone to help fix. The other system, I canceled it because I didn't need it. It wasn't the fault of ADT in that, and I still have ADT even though they are seriously flawed. Their billing often got confused and became a source of some frustration. I like to get a paper bill, but they would tell me that the paper bill is wrong and I could only rely on the online bill, which is a crazy thing. Overall, they've got a good system that if it works well and with better communications, then they're fine.

I've been satisfied with the service I've been receiving. When the alarm goes off, everything happens the way it's supposed to and the alarms have been working the way they're supposed to. I've added an outside camera and updated the WiFi connections. The tech came, put them in quickly, and cleaned up what he had to clean up satisfactorily.

I've got pros and cons about ADT's customer service. Sometimes it's good, but sometimes not at all. On occasion, I called 'cause something wasn't working properly, and they'd send a technician out. They wanted to charge me a $59 fee just for coming out, and I didn't like that. I never paid it, and they never took care of my issue. Another time, they sent me a text or email that I was eligible for an upgrade. A young man came out and told me the equipment I had was what they were gonna try to upgrade me to. That was confusing to me.

ADT charges people for everything. When I was trying to get one of the alarms down, it was up too high and I couldn't figure out how to take it down. ADT had to come out and do it and they charged me to do that. I didn't like that. I also don't like the camera part because it's on the door and I have to charge it up and take it off. I haven't done the one that's in the front. I did the one in the back because I can't get to the one in the front. Other than that, ADT is okay. I'm paying $74 for it now, but the cost a living for everything is high.

After our ADT system was installed, it worked. But after a couple of years, it stopped working and right now, I'm having so much trouble with them. Our alarm system is constantly beeping. I can't even turn it on and it says, “Out of range.” It's horrible. They just came out here on Thursday and it was fixed. But it was fixed for less than 24 hours. Also, they charge for everything now. For the last visit, they charged the service fee to come out here, but the tech refused to help work on the camera.

I'm okay with ADT's service and we've never had any problems, so we've kept what we got. When we had an issue, their reps told us how to fix it and we did it. One time, we weren't home and we had a false fire alarm. I was 35 minutes away from home and by the time I got here, the fire department was sitting on the front porch laughing at me coming up the driveway. I know them pretty good and the fire department ain't but two miles away.

The gentleman I talked to on the phone was good and told me the ins and outs. We joked around a little bit. He told me I would get a gift card in my email and I never got that but that was fine. The technician was personable, nice and prompt. I had him come back out because I had to get something else hooked up separately because my internet wasn't hooked up yet. And he came out and took care of that.
I haven't had time to call and express my concerns yet but my cameras don't pick up all the time and also do not record the people that are coming in and out of my place, which is annoying. It used to work all the time. Now, they don't. It’s sporadic. I can click on the cameras at any time most of the time and see what's going on, but they're not alerting me that anybody's at the house. I have the locks on my doors and I can lock and unlock them from my app, which is nice, but that's about it. Still, ADT was easy to deal with, and it was seamless and self-explanatory. There were no hidden charges. I have recommended it to a couple of family members that are building houses in my area and the only thing I'm yet to see is if they can fix my camera issue. But that’s on me that I haven’t called.

ADT provides good service and is responsive. I've had them for over 20 years. If there's a problem at the house, they would contact the police or me and the people on my list like they're supposed to do. There's been no lapse in what's supposed to be done. I'm very pleased.

I ordered a battery mid-March, and I just received it the day before yesterday. I had to inquire three times in order to get it. I finally got ahold of someone that took care of getting it to me. Other than that, ADT is worthy of being checked out and considered. I've had their services since 2020 and most things have gone fine. We usually receive a text inquiring about an alarm and if we don't respond, they're gonna contact the police or fire department.

The experience with ADT has been mediocre. We've been with them for 30 years. I get emails occasionally offering me upgrades to my system but other than that, ADT has been, in terms of customer relations, a flat out 0. The only time that there has been a communication with ADT is when there either has been an alarm event or I've needed service. I've had issues with the batteries and alarms. I have spoken a couple of times with an ADT representative after we had an alarm event. At one time, they said that they would come out and replace batteries. Later, when I mentioned that call and tried to get someone to come out, they said, "We don't do that. You have to do the batteries yourself." They told me that I could get X number of batteries a year.
The system does what it's supposed to do. You close the door as you set the alarm. If you open the door without releasing it, a buzzer goes off in the house. But I don't know at what point in time it sends the message to the ADT team. There have been a couple of instances where that has happened. They've called and we've told them it was a false alarm. There was one occasion that we were out of town. An alarm went off, which was not related to any intrusion. It was a malfunction within the system. They had sent the police out, but we weren't here. The positive news is I get a discount on my insurance premium because I have ADT. But I have taken and considered contacting other security companies that are more local.

The techs came out and installed everything but one of the cameras we ordered was in backstock. So, I had to wait another couple of days for them to install it. The communication was great. People should use ADT. They're amazing. The customer service has been good and ADT has never been super pushy about upgrading.

I was under contract through NorthStar. ADT bought them and my contract transferred over to ADT. When the system works, it does what it's supposed to do. But there are a lot of times that it doesn't work. The reps are nice and they try to help, but nothing ever gets resolved the first time. I've constantly had issues with the hardware, different doorbells or cameras, and I have to call at least 5 times and talk to multiple people to get anything resolved. It feels like I've been pushed to the back because of me being under contract through the third-party company that they bought. I'm not a priority because I wasn't a ADT customer initially. The installation was with NorthStar, but even then, I've had I've had a few technicians have to come out to replace the camera or doorbell and there've been no explanations on anything or updates. I'm trying to get out of my contract and go to another company.

I called ADT then the installer came a short time later and put the system in. I started out originally with the doorbell camera then we decided we wanted to see the dogs. We have a big backyard. It progressed from a doorbell camera to cameras at the back. I got the cameras that show me the four parts of the house. The system works very well. It's very responsive and dependable. When I'm at work or away on vacation, we can see exactly what's going on. I get the beeps all day long at work. It tells me who's in what door. I'm very happy with ADT. It's been an effortless experience with them.

The alarm works. The only thing is the battery dies every six years. The first time it happened, it was disturbing. When I called them and said that the low battery alarm was going off, they talked me through how to change it, where to buy one of those batteries and I was able to do it myself. That was good. I didn't have to pay someone to do it. It was also fairly easy to get to talk to a person and they were very helpful when I got through. I had a little trouble getting the app on my phone. I called and talked to a guy and we weren't able to get that accomplished, but I can get their information on my desktop. It's just annoying how much it costs because it's just a computer program for them. They send emails and try to get me to sign up for some advanced thing that I certainly don't wanna pay any more than I already do. Also, you have to have a landline to use it so you have to have the expense of a landline.

I like ADT. They were the best at that time I moved in in 2018. The sales representative was very cordial. He was good at what he did and what he told me. The part of the system that would tell me what window or door is open is a very good feature. However, it doesn't work correctly. It doesn't have the correct time and what it should be on there. I'm trying to get somebody to come and look at it. They put me on hold and make me stay on hold for a long time, trying to hang up and let it go. Other than that, they're very professional. I like their service.

We like the reliability of ADT's systems. We've been using them for decades. The customer service for the business account has been okay but for the home account, it was terrible. Our technician that was supposed to install drilled multiple holes in the walls because he was not able to install the panel. Additionally, the way the sensors were set up in our home weren't accurate because of the window shutters that we have. It almost looked as if the technician didn't know what he was doing.

We had our smoke detectors go off. I was cooking bacon and it was apparently a very smoky bacon. We had to know a verbal password so that the fire department didn't come. That was annoying. Also, our doorbell camera has not worked since day one and I refuse to pay ADT to come out and fix something that they didn't install correctly. A camera is enough of a deterrent, but it's annoying that it doesn't work. I also don't like that I was told that I was locked into a rate but they increased my rates. A security service is one of those things where the value isn't there until something bad happens and I do not think I'm getting the value that I'm paying for, especially given the neighborhood I live in.

ADT is very efficient. I have one sensor that I have a problem with. It's because it has to go through too many walls. When I call them, they're right on top of it. A technician has to come out to redo this one sensor periodically.

ADT is a good company that has good reviews. When I call customer service, they're helpful. The security key fob is great. I have the app on my phone, so if my daughter's home, I can see what doors are accessed. I like that. It's at my fingertips. But sometimes, the four-digit pass code on the app doesn't work, and I have to do a full login. It takes longer to do that. Also, I haven't always been happy with ADT. When I started with them, it was $21 a month. It slowly kept creeping up then it was over $100 monthly. I was gonna go with a new service and when I called ADT to cancel, they said they'd drop it back down to 21.99 a month. I'm on a two-year plan just to get that amount and had to call to get it. I've been with ADT for 10 years but new customers get treated better.

We've had ADT before, and we went with them again. We did do upgrades because of the house we're in now. We put more alarms on the windows. The only thing I do have problems with is I can't get stuff off of my screen. It says low battery, and every time I change it, it still says that. I can't get it off and I don't have time to mess with it.

ADT set the system up. It's cut and dried. If there was a problem, the alarm would go off. The functionality seems fine. Also, the reps are kind and sweet but couldn't fix the problem. ADT set up two separate accounts. One that had nothing to do with the whole setup. I've done 10 calls to fix this, spent 45 minutes to an hour each time on the phone with them, and never to a resolution. So finally, they said, “We see you have a second account that doesn't belong to you or it was incorrectly set up. You've been paying into it for almost nine months to a year. We're gonna credit you all this, that, and the other.” They told me that it's fixed. But it still hasn't been, and they still call me, saying that my account is past due. Maybe they don't wanna give back the money.
They called me this morning, and I told them where they could go. I'm gonna set my admins to put this all over the internet about this company. The company itself is either run by imbeciles or they have a system they couldn't fix. It has been nothing but a nightmare. They couldn't seem to get their act together and fix this. It’s a joke.

The ADT reps have been mostly helpful. On one or two occasions, they've been unable to resolve my technical issue. I bugged them enough and they eventually got someone on the phone that could fix the problem. Then they wanted to bill me for it. I pleaded enough to convince them that it was not an issue that was on my end, and they eventually waived the fees. It took a little back and forth that shouldn't have never happened. The technicians were good and helpful. Currently, I've been having some technical issues. It's been an ongoing issue and I'm out of warranty now. So, if I wanted to replace the equipment, it would come out of pocket.

My whole experience with the home security system has not been favorable. I'm disappointed in the system, but it's not from ADT's part of it. When Harbor connected the equipment, one of the sensors fell off, and they wanted to charge me to come fix the sensor. That made the equipment less reliable. It allows the system to always be overridden, which means if somebody were to enter through that door, there would be no protection there because it's not working. I refused to pay. So, ADT wouldn't have anybody come out. My system is inadequate. And because I'm in a contract, I couldn't get out of it.

I would like to get the deal that ADT offers to new customers. I was interested in getting the camera in the front because I saw online where it says they were offering that to new customers. Old customers, unfortunately, don't get that. Other than that, my experience is not bad.

We've had ADT for two dozen years. The system hasn't ever been updated. It was a little disappointing that they've never called and said, "Hey, you're using antiquated equipment. Would you like to upgrade?" Because we have pets at home, I really can't use the system other than for fire detection. My pets trigger the motion detectors. We use the security system because if there's a fire, the service would get notified. I've had to call ADT to find out how to put the system on test so I can replace a battery. I downloaded the app, so I don't need to contact them anymore for that. ADT is expensive. They don't take any proactive action to reach out to existing customers. Their sign is probably the biggest deterrent.

Switching to ADT was seamless and very positive. I only have one complaint. We had it done at our house and at my mother's. Within a year, the battery went out and it still has been. I have not been able to figure out what battery it would take or how to order one. When I try to call, it would be a 20-minute wait. So, hers is not working because the battery is dead. But ours has been fine. It has been over three years now. Why wouldn't ADT just send the battery out? We pay $67 a month per house. Why not just include a battery? Because there are many models. I couldn't figure out which one it is. But it works. Whenever my mom would accidentally trigger it, ADT would be very nice about calling. We appreciated that they would not start charging for false alarms.

ADT has different systems, and they are flexible with working with the budget of whoever they're dealing with. I would recommend them. The rep came out, and we talked about what I was looking for. I had a package with a doorbell but it was too expensive. So, we went with just door and window sensors, and they left me a Google Play box, but I didn't have a camera so I didn't need that. I called in and they took out that portion that was supposed to be taken off the bill for what I'm paying. All I have is the screen on the wall to turn on and off the alarm, and the doors and windows sensors.
The system works for what it is. It's basic. They installed one of the sensors on the sliding door that when you close the door, it gets knocked off because of the blinds that are up there. That probably could have been thought out a bit better. Otherwise, the installation on everything was good. It's nice to be able to be away from our house and not worry too much about it. There are cameras you can get. You can get a system you need built that you want, depending on your house.

The rep told me how he was gonna install the system so I told him to go ahead. He put the deal by the front door and put the one on the back door and that's about it. They didn't put any windows or anything. I don't even know why they put it in if they weren’t gonna do the windows because if somebody wanna break in, they can break in through the windows. Also, they never showed me how to work it. They just plugged it in and left at that. All I know is that every time I open a door, it says that that door is open. I told them to disconnect the system. I still got their stuff in my house, but I don't pay the bills because I told them I can't afford it. I'm not paying about $59 a month.

It's not as good as what it used to be. The old systems I had were all hardwired. Now, it's all a bunch of plastic crap. The system I have now is more of a pain. It's the multiple batteries in every single switch and I've got a very large house. Every single window has a battery feature on it, the smoke alarms, the motion detector, and there's a big backup battery on the central panel. I have 20 or 30 batteries to constantly change all the time.
There's a battery out somewhere almost all the time and it's not always clear which battery it is. It just gives you which zone. And if you have one little battery out in one zone, your system is useless. Right now, the system hasn't been up in months. I'm really unhappy with it. I've had them out two or three times and the last couple of times, the techs were really nice but it always cost me. I am not gonna spend any more money on this system.

The ADT system has been keeping me feeling secure and safe. We got it when we moved into our house, which was a new home that was just built. The house next door was robbed that night. Then, one Sunday afternoon, there was a young man going around taking a survey. He came to my house first and my daughter was there at the time. She told him her parents were home and he left. But the same guy went down three houses and robbed a house and took all the elder grandparents' jewelry. There have been things like that. Also, when my kids were getting older and my husband and I were both at work and they were home alone, I felt more secure knowing that we have ADT.
The functionality is fine. The only issue we had was about two years ago, the alarm was going off several times. One time, the cops came and my neighbor called me at my daughter's in Virginia to say that there's police at my house. The police had checked the house but the alarm just kept ringing. It took me almost 45 minutes that one time. I had to call ADT and the scary part was when they would not call me back. My neighbor had a key, but he didn't know the code to turn it off. The issue was a faulty sensor in the system and we went through batteries and everything else but it kept happening. We had to put a three-inch by two-inch sensor back on the door and that solved the problem. Other than that, I haven't had an issue in the last two years. I'm very happy and comfortable with the system. I feel totally safe and protected and I still have my ADT sign out front, which is like my security just having the sign there.

The service of ADT is good. However, upfront, we weren't told a lot of stuff. And I would have never signed a contract for three years. The rep had a little iPhone and the only thing the rep told us was, "Sign here." No paperwork. But I love it. It's self-explanatory. It's great and easy to use. My favorite feature is the home screen panel that you can go to. It puts it out there on display with everything you need to do. I called one day. Something wasn't working right. They said, "We have to get a technician." I said, "How about I just cancel?" They said, "You can't cancel it. You're in a three-year deal." I came apart after that and my wife calmed me down. She said, "It's okay. We'll handle it." But, everybody that I've talked to on the phone was awesome.

My experience with ADT has been great. It's very efficient. Everything works great, just like they said it would. I like that it gives me videos when somebody's at my front door, even though I'm not home. It lets me know if somebody I don't want is at my house. ADT is worth it.

A friend of mine had mentioned about getting ADT when my home was broken into. I called ADT and they came out. But right now, my box doesn't work. I don't really know how to reset things or do things on my own. But the installation of our ADT was okay.

I've had ADT for a couple of years now but I don't even have access to it on my phone. I've lost my access to my user number and my password. I can't even see my cameras anymore. I'm just waiting for the contract to end so I can stop it. The alarm guy that I have usually calls me, but I haven't heard from him in a while. When he calls me, I am gonna tell him.

Everything is fine in our experience with ADT. We've been with them for 40 years now and we've never had any issues except for a bad sensor. I get a text or a phone call from them if the sensors go off or we're absent from the residence. The system is easy to use and connects to the wireless router. It's a good system. Also, all the technicians who have come out are friendly. They know what they're doing and everything gets handled in a timely manner.

The installers of our ADT took their time. Their customer service has been good as well. However, the equipment keeps going bad. They have come out and worked on it, and it worked for a while, but the things just don't seem to stay operative.

The installation of our ADT was okay. However, once the product is installed, it's like they dump you. I've had problems since last year with the product, and they have not come to repair. They wanna charge me to have someone to come out and get my service back online because my internet provider changed, and the system is not connecting, and they couldn't tell me how to do it because one of the items that needed to be done requires for me to get up on a ladder and do it because it's outside.
I told them that makes no sense to me. They're gonna charge me almost $100 for somebody to come out to make sure that I'm getting service and I only had it for a short period of time. I took their installer’s advice, which was he recommended that I change my internet box, and that's what I did. I got an upgraded box that's capable of handling the security system. But my system is still currently down. I'm just paying for them to do my service. But they're not protecting my home right now. I don't recommend ADT.

My experience with ADT has been terrible. I've had a trailer stolen right out of my driveway. I've had someone sneak on my back patio and none of my cameras caught it. Not one. The girl I called didn't know much about anything and could not help me at all. I got nowhere. She was googling it while I was telling her and she was blah, blah, blah. But no information. You also can't go to ADT if your cameras aren't working, which I don't like either. You have to go through a separate company and the guy came out and checked my cameras to make sure they were working properly and still, nothing. The system sucks. I'm buying my time to get out of it. I feel like I'm not even getting a service. I might as well not even have the cameras on. It doesn't pick up anything. So, why bother? But, the customer service reps who sold me it were nice.

Our ADT system does what it's supposed to. I like the ease of use. It's just they could stand to do some improvements. It tends to flip off occasionally. I just wait till it comes back on. Sometimes, I got to get into the keypad to get it to reset. Sometimes, I have to call them to get it to reset.

We had our security system installed 4 days ago, the salesperson came out and we agreed to a price and needed equipment. The very next day the installer technician came out to do the install and he said we need another camera, a separate dedicated Wi-Fi for their system including a "mesh" system for an additional $350.00 which we agreed to purchase. The Google cameras do not stay online the majority of the day, they buffer in and out constantly so it is pointless for a "security system" to have cameras that cannot show live video.
Read the fine print! ADT advertises a 6-month money back guarantee with their system, that's only after you have paid them three times to come out and if they determine that they cannot fix the issue. In fact, in order for them to come out now after just 4 days to try and fix the issue, they want to charge me $60.00 minimum!
The truth of their agreement is they only give you three days including Saturday's & Sunday's to get out of the contract for a faulty system. They do not stand behind their product, the customer service is terrible. GO WITH VIVINT! ADT, I will pay you for the five years according to my contract, I promise I am telling everyone that I know how bad you are every day.. Thank You!

The installer of our ADT system was very good and so far, everything has been working okay. But their prices are extremely high. I've done some research since I've installed their equipment and I can get as good, if not better, coverage for a lot cheaper to do our entire house. With them, we could only afford to do part of our house because as senior citizens, to do our entire house was unattainable. They should have incentives for senior citizens in order to make it more affordable. And if those were out there, I never heard of them or no one ever mentioned them to me. Other than that, even remotely, when we're away from the house, we can operate the system remotely, which I really like.

My ADT sales rep, Wally, was all right and the installation of my system was fast. When I called them about something, they came out and gave me a new remote because mine was an antique. Everything's been fine since then.

ADT's reps are very accommodating and professional. From the people that come to your house to the people that answer your phone calls. With ADT, you always get your problems resolved. My mother-in-law is 93 and they have to come to her house all the time to help her change batteries. Also, I have the app on my phone and it works. We would recommend ADT to friends. I like the sleek new little iPad-like keypad on the wall for all the controls. The system performs well, but we don't use ours, so we're going to cancel our service.

When there's a problem with ADT's equipment, they're charging $59 to come out and look at it when it's their equipment that's at fault. Also, they offered Ring when I first got the service and now, they no longer do business with Ring. They do business with Google. But they dropped the free service that they offered when I first signed up, so I don't think that was fair. I'm now paying ADT then I also pay Ring for the doorbell that ADT gave to me. Other than that, the techs who come out are professional, very polite, and knowledgeable. Also, it's a fair price and most of my experience with them has been good. During COVID it was rough, but they're a lot better now.

ADT has been great. When we needed a new doorbell, they came, and they were very nice and friendly. The system covers every door and every window, and it feels secure. When I accidentally put it off, people call me and wanna know if I'm okay. I also like the fact that I can see who's at the door. I'm glad I have ADT.

I've been having issues with the service in the past. The system would just stop working and freeze and I don't know that it's frozen. I go down to the panel to either set it, and I notice that it had been off track. I'm just waiting for my term to be over with.

ADT is a great company, and the system works fine. Installation was also good except when they were coming out to install, I requested to have the garage open and close part put on that I can do through the app on my phone and they said that they had to come back and do it. When I called again, they wanted to charge me $350 to come back out. Earlier, I was told it was only gonna add $5 to my bill and that they would install it, but the guy didn't have the equipment for that. I explained this in my call with them and nobody would listen to me. The features are great, but since they want to charge me $350 more, I'm gonna get rid of the system after my contract's over with because of the fact that my main purpose was to get the access to the garage.

We've had other alarm system companies and so far, ADT has been good. Their service person that came and installed the system was professional and he seemed to know what he was doing, probably more so than other people we've had experience with. The alarm system works very well, and the pad is what I like best, which was an improvement over our last alarm system. ADT has also been very responsive whenever the alarm's gone off calling. Unfortunately, we had a couple of false alarms with our smoke detectors and they were right on it.

I've had multiple interactions with ADT. I purchased new products, purchased the system, and over the years, I have added to the system. We're very satisfied with ADT. Although we're not satisfied that the price keeps increasing as rapidly as it has.

I was happy with the sales rep from ADT. Installation went well. I was at work that day. Someone else was here for them to come in and put stuff, but it was all done by the time I got off work, so everything went okay. I've had ADT for a very long time, and it's been excellent.

I like ADT a lot. The few times I've dealt with their reps, they've been helpful. We had repairs, and the technicians were great. They were able to fix our issue really fast. They were only here for about an hour.

I've been with ADT for a long time and they kept raising my rate. Being overcharged compared to what everybody else is charging didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense for a loyal customer. I called to try to negotiate the price down and they were stern that they couldn't do anything about it, so I went to the market and found a better price. Then all of a sudden, when I called to cancel after engaging to use the other services, they mysteriously magically brought my rate down. It was over half of what I was paying, so now I'm good. But the process to do that didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. And one of my best friends did all this probably four months before me and was canceling. But they sent somebody out and they did everything and lowered his rate. They didn't do any of that for me besides to lower my rate, which I was fine with. It just seems silly.
Also, I requested six signs and the first time I called, they said they were gonna send some new signs to put outside the house but I never received them. When I called to cancel, I told them they never did it and all of a sudden, 4 signs showed up to my house. They couldn't even fulfill the order of how many signs I requested. It's silly stuff like that, that I wasn't impressed with but the service has always been fine on the system.

ADT put in the regular system and I need to get a door camera. I'm on prepaid and I pay $48 a month. If anything ever happens, they'll call me.

I like the programming on ADT. It’s always on unless the power is out so that’s a good thing. The price is reasonable. The price went up a little bit more than I anticipated this go around because everything went up. So, that’s understandable. I'm happy with ADT. I like everything. If I had some dislikes, I would have already called in and complained.

Their service is terrible. When you need something fixed, all they wanna do is sell you a new system all the time. In one of our houses, we keep having problems with the sensors and they never wanna send anybody and we pay for the service agreement every month. That's one thing I'm not happy about. Then when they come out, they wanna charge me for the guy to come out. But I'm already paying for the maintenance plan. Their people are okay but you just don't really get much out of them.

Their system has been good. But the smoke detector goes off once in a while when we're cooking. We just open up the doors, turn the fan on, and let it clear. Same with the wood stove. A couple of times, it leaked out of the door a little bit. The same thing. But their response time was quick.

We paid a lot of money to have the ADT system put in the house. It's old and right now it's not functioning. They're saying it's gonna be another couple thousand dollars to put updated equipment in. That's a no-go.

The sales people will lie to you regarding the contract. Read the fine print. I was told it was a 3 year contract, it's 5 years. I canceled the auto pay, I still pay the bill on time but it's not their way so they are now saying they will put my account in collection unless I give them a credit card number. And the alarm went off for 10-15 minutes and no call. There is no one monitoring my service or the police would have come and the company would have called. There are better companies with better customer service than ADT. I was a customer for years. Now I will tell anyone who will listen to stay clear of this company.

False advertising. According to the website advertisement and then we were told repeatedly we would not be entering into a contract for their service but when we call to switch to self monitoring, they said we were in 36-month contract with them. If you are going to buy from ADT, read the fine print because they won’t tell you what you’re actually signing up for.

We aren’t even done paying for the system and the control pad won’t accept new batteries, it always beeps and says missing battery. They want to schedule out a virtual appt for the repairs then when the virtual tech can’t solve it I will have to pay for a technician to come out. I’m not paying a tech to come out for something we’ve had for 10 months.

Updated on 03/13/2025: If I could give a negative number of stars, it would be minus 100. ADT run scams. I was lured into an expensive one year contract and when contract was up for renewal I made multiple calls letting them know that I am not going to renew this contract and and asked to cancel my account, but they were continuously billing me accruing debt on an expired contract and then sent collectors after me. One collector left me along after my dispute letter and they have sent another one.
I got a call from their customer service to resolve this issue only after I filed complaint with BBB. Beside that, tech service is absolutely incompetent. They couldn't figure out for a couple of months why my system is constantly beeping. Made me to change sensors batteries ($14 each) just to discover that it was the station battery and to fix this I have to pay for their tech to come over and change it. It was the last drop. I ripped out all their garbage system and was paying till the end of contract to get rid of them. It was September 2023 and I finally got rid of this scammers just yesterday. Absolutely hate them!
Original Review: If I could give ADT negative rate it would be -100. They lied to me to lock me into contract at high price, and after contract ended I called a few times letting them know that I am not going to renew contract and I removed all equipment. But they continued to bill me for 8 month ignoring my calls regarding closed contract and now they sent all this scamming bills to collections. If there are more former customers like me, It would be a great case for class action.

When I first called for information, the customer service rep said they could probably use my Vivint equipment, but they couldn’t. It’s proprietary. It was never possible. They lied. I told the installer that I was also considering Brinks and he said Brinks uses ADT equipment and would send ADT out if I needed service. That was another lie. Brinks uses alarm.com equipment and they do not send ADT to service their accounts. Then the installer kept increasing the amount of new equipment I would need to buy after he already started installing the system. I ended up paying about $600 for the installation of new equipment. Then the installer didn’t explain the system or even leave a yard sign.
The second panel stopped working after a week. I had to use the virtual tech support person to get it back online. When it wasn’t working, my external door wouldn’t arm. Then the panel stopped working again about two weeks later. I had only been a customer for a month! I called to explain that this is the second time the panel has stopped working since the April 11 installation. They wouldn’t send a service tech. I had to use the virtual option or pay for a service call ($169). After I gave notice of cancelation, they offered to send someone, but by then, it was too late.
Then as I was having Brinks replace their crappy equipment with quality equipment, they didn’t call to say the system was offline until 24 hours later! Anyone could have taken that system offline! I specifically didn’t tell them in advance to see what their response would be. I was not surprised by their inaction. I requested a full equipment refund with cancelation. When I tried to cancel, they said I’d have to pay a cancelation fee. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and they offered to waive the early termination fee of $335.98 but wouldn’t let me return the equipment for a refund. Even they don’t want their crappy equipment! This is what you can expect as an ADT customer. Go with Brinks! The equipment is much higher quality.

ADT (POOR SERVICE PROVIDER). We have been with ADT for over 5 years at this residence and 10+ more with other residences. They do NOT value customers. We have been patient and have spent well over 4 hours on the phone with them since yesterday! Our alarm panel has been going off intermittently for weeks now. I spent time with their technician fixing this virtually yesterday. It seemed we were good and "fixed" with a couple bad sensors being sent as replacements. UNTIL last night at 3 am with it doing the same thing and waking everyone up with NO faults showing. Since I couldn't sleep, I was in the phone with them at 6 am, 9 am, 12 pm and again at 2 pm!! Always being told a manager would call me back, but never bothering to! I spoke with Marissa (manager) and was told Nicole ** (another manager) was going to call me back.
They just ignore you! They could care less if your alarm is going off in the middle of the night EVERY night! You are not a priority! Then I was told I was being directed to the WRONG department (general service) instead of field operations. I call field operations and they tell me, I have to wait until the 31st (over a week) with alarm going off randomly during the night. Then management told them to inform me that I could shut my entire system down. Anything happens to our place, I am handing these calls over to my insurance to go after (if anything happens here) ADT for their lack of providing for our protection paid service from them. This company is a disgrace. Come to find out so many other customers are having the same issue per the last ADT agent I spoke to. What are we all actually paying for? Disgraceful. They don't deserve even 1 star as the don't care about clients as reflected in their reviews. Date of experience: May 21, 2024.

We got ADT because of the cameras but when they came to reset it, they changed the whole system and unplugged all the cameras. The technician told us that the new alarm system was not compatible with the cameras so I only have the basic ADT now. He also didn't connect one of the windows and I got broken into it in the middle of the night. They came in a second time and did a freebie for me. They fixed the problem with the window and checked all the other installations that the man had done. They didn't charge me for the service call.
Yesterday, I was trying to add a person on to the ADT app and got this beautiful person. She had the patience to deal with me. I also called to see how much it would cost to put one or two cameras up but they're way too expensive. It's $99 for them to come out and put them on then $218 every month for three months, and it was for two cameras. The basic system has worked fine. If somebody opens the door, I know when it's opened. But I'm very unhappy with the fact that ADT took my cameras.

If you are using ADT through a third party vendor like Safe Haven I would not recommend it. I was sold a security package that seemed to be a great deal with amazing features for a great price. However, when the system installer came I was told that for that I was getting installed the cost would be more than 5x what the sales rep and I agreed upon. On top of that the installer didn't even connect my doorbell camera. He said that he was not listened to do "heavy power" wiring. He left me some wires and said that I could do it myself. Not only that, but not even 24 hours later the security monitor had an AC power failure, So I called ADT and they informed me that due to me getting my services through Safe Haven I had to go to them for any issues that require component repairs or replacements. So I called Safe Haven and guess what? They do not have any customer support over the weekend.

The sales rep went into the early evening and it was quick and not much was discussed. They just put the system in and said goodbye. The guys who installed the system were nice but they put in different kinds of things, like some windows have bigger ones that didn't look very good. But I didn't know that it was possible to do smaller ones until I walked around and started looking at everything. It seemed like they just wanted to get the job done. But they didn't offend me in any way. In retrospect and afterward, it seemed like it was done in a very good manner. The box they left was already scratched and maybe it had belonged to somebody else prior to that. Maybe they were giving me a cast-off. It's just that some of the things weren't quite as they should have been for a first-time customer.
I did not have very good satisfaction with my ADT package. The alarms went off a couple of times in my house and I was not home and ADT called me to say they should send somebody out. The alarms are going off and they should of course send somebody. One time, I got charged by the police. I had to get my work to sign a piece of paper that said I had been at work and I had to take that to the police. The box for a couple of years hasn't been showing all the information. I had a motion sensor in the living room that hadn't been working for a while. No one ever checked in with me after it was installed.
When I called ADT to discontinue my service, they talked me into a lower-cost service and I wasn't satisfied with even the service they were giving me. I tried to cancel and the girl got upset with me. She said I couldn’t cancel and that I was slated to go until the following month. I asked if I couldn’t cancel and she said I couldn’t. It was very inappropriate and abrupt and there wasn't much explanation other than she was mad. And I wasn't getting any help. I don’t wanna call ADT back. I cancelled them and I'm happy they're not with me anymore.

The sales rep was excellent, and the installers were professional and quick. Lately, I've been having issues with communication failure. I just got off the phone with ADT not long ago and they said it could be my internet. When I get home, I'm gonna check out my internet service and see if everything is on and working properly. I needed an alarm company, and the sales rep was knowledgeable about his stuff. He was friendly too. However, I dislike the doorbell camera. There would be times when people would ring it, and I'd be trying to talk to them through the doorbell camera, and by the time I finally could get to them or if it would even work, they would be gone already. The doorbell camera was terrible, and ADT didn't fix it.
My contract with ADT ended last month, and I haven't renewed it because I don't think I'm gonna stay with them. It didn't feel any more special or different than any other system I've ever had, and I wish it would have had more. I wanted cameras around the house, and other companies are offering the same thing, but at a different price. That's why I'm going with someone else. Because to add the cameras around the house, the price would have been more than what I wanted to pay. I'm working out with another company, and they're coming to install this weekend.

I couldn't get my cell phone to work with the alarm system and the lady that I called walked me through it. I'm 77 years old and I'm not computer-savvy and she did a fantastic job. She went way beyond getting me hooked up to where I can use my cell phone to set an alarm and turn it off. Also, I get emails every now and then about giving some feedback on how they're doing. I appreciate that because a lot of times people will call you that you don't wanna be bothered with and they don't stop.

We have everything with ADT and I like that I can control the alarms on my phone. I had another security system before and this is much better and more streamlined. But I have asked them at least six times to send me a sign for my yard, and I just keep getting little stickers that you put on the windows don't help. So in that respect, that is the worst service I've ever had and it makes me uncomfortable for them to not even acknowledge that. When I would I call, they would say that they'd send them out and that it'd take a couple weeks. But I never get them. I like those signs. When you see a big house with that in front of it, it would make an impression. Other than that, their price is fair and so far, it's been a very easy and great experience.

Three weeks ago, we had upgraded to new equipment and that was an easy process to have them come out and install. They just weren't very clear on the cost and the financing part of it all. We're in a little bit of a snafu with them about that now. But overall, the service is good. There's the easy access of being able to look at it on your mobile app anywhere you go and monitor the equipment while we're out and about and see everything.

I regret my decision of going with ADT and I would tell my friends not to use them. I've been calling every week for the last 13 weeks to get a service technician to come out to my house and fix the system because it shows that there's a faulty issue. There's are 12 devices in my house and at least four of them are somewhat working, but the rest of them are faulty like the window devices, the camera, the door lock, the panel, and the garage door opener. Every night, the system keeps going off and it's not even active. I'm paying almost 100 bucks to ADT and I can't continue to pay for a system that is not working.
Also, when ADT first came out to install the system, the first guy showed up with no tools and did half of the job. The second guy that showed up made it somewhat work, but it wasn't working. Then finally, a third person came out almost in a two-week period. It worked for a couple of months then it stopped working since then. I want to make the cameras work but they say that they're never connected even if they're hardwired to the electrical system. I have a terabyte of Wi-Fi because I work from home, so I have the fastest Wi-Fi and still I can't get the cameras to work.

I've been with ADT for many years and the service is different. They want everything online and trying to get someone out is a challenge. Then, usually when I call them, they just wanna do everything over the phone or else push 1 or push 2 and, “Have you gone online to look at the answers? I have one window alarm that never has worked right. They came out one time and it still hasn't worked right. I'm afraid to put it on because if I go out of town or something, I can't have an alarm just going off. And it's a little antiquated. Right now, mine still works with a telephone line. I don't even use the system anymore and I need to discontinue it.

ADT was installed in the house that we bought and we kept what was here. My experience is real good and the reps are polite. But we don't feel that for the amount the service cost, it's worth it for us to have it. The only thing I don't like is I'm on a two-year plan and if I wanted to cancel early, it sounded like there would be a $350 charge. What I decided to do is wait until the end of the first year or close to it and call back.

I've had ADT close to 30 years. I like the security. I've never had any problem with them other than a sensor that went bad. False alarms are very rare but when it does happen, I get a call on my phone.

ADT is good. Their sales rep helped me. He showed me certain things and if something goes off, he said, "You can call me, and I can go through the steps with you." A different person for the installation came. He's very nice and patient with me. At that time, I had just moved in and I had a lot going on, but everything was resolved.

They are horrible. I always have issues with either the box in my house nor holding time/date or not being able seeing my cameras from my phone using their hik-connect app. When calling for assistance with either problem it is ALWAYS a few hour issue. Always transferred from one department to another or someone with a strong non-English accent. It is hard to understand them when you have a hearing issue to begin with. When asked to speak to someone else they get offended very easily and don't seem to understand.

The installation was nice. But I'm not happy with ADT. They don't tell you about the three-year contract until you sign the paper. This is my last year on it and once this year is done, I'm done with them. The little pads that they put on the windows and the doors fall off come summertime. I already had four calls. I had two for the fire department and two for the police, which were just the pads falling off. I tried to explain to ADT and all they sent me is a do-it-yourself kit. They go into my account every month to take the money out, but they don't wanna fix this. So I quit using it. I use the app as my front door camera and that's it. The customer service is okay. They try to help you. But then you get shuffled. You just get put aside. They're supposed to be a reputable company and I'm very disappointed in them.

ADT needs to take care of the false alarms. The alarm starts beeping and I have to put in my code. It would tell me a glass break but there was no glass break anywhere. You have to call ADT to keep them from sending the police out here. When you call ADT, you wait on the line too long for them to get there and they usually have to switch you to somebody else. It's not a good experience.

When we first got ADT, the person that installed the system didn't do the best job on the locking system. When he took off the metal piece that's on the doorframe, he never installed it back in. So, my husband had to put that metal piece. It’s part of making your door secure. Also, when the installer was doing the sensors, he pounded them on our wooden table and put two big dents in our table that we just refinished. But he was a nice enough guy. Everything works fine. There were just a couple of things that happened that I wasn't too happy about. But the service of ADT has been great. It's been a good experience and that it's worth checking into to have security on your home.

ADT was great for the first three years. But after that, it seems like they're trying to sell me another service. They're saying my IQ board that does everything doesn't work. It's not working with the system. Their guy was like, "Well, we need to upgrade it." I'm not paying $1,000 or $2,000 more for a system. I had it for almost six years now. The problem started after three years and I have nothing controlling my garage. My garage is detached from my house, but my sensors don't work. A guy came out a year ago, but he couldn't fix it. He told me, "I could fix it for 600 bucks." They never fixed it. They need to figure out why my keyboard works and doesn't work half the time. My garage needs to be re-hooked back up, too. That hasn't been hooked up for over a year.
Also, I re-signed up for another three years. They never told me that re-signing up doesn't mean I get coverage on any of my stuff. They sent this guy out, and before I know it, I was almost $200 in the hole with charges for this guy to come out. It wasn't disclosed to me. So, now I have a system that works sometimes and that's about it. I only have it till December. So, unfortunately, as soon as December comes, I will be getting rid of it.

I'm having problems with ADT. My cameras are old. I was told by the local manager that ADT would upgrade them and not me, the customer. That didn't happen. I've waited two years for them to do whatever because the equipment is outdated and no longer being used. They don't issue it. They don't sell it. It's antique. I just upgraded my equipment at my expense because ADT has not. Then the system that I had last month is better than what I have now. At least before, I knew someone was in my yard or someone was near. I can't see the surroundings outside my home any longer. They're telling me I don't have enough Wi-Fi. I'm paying this increased dollar to get the updated system for security, but I can't view it. So, it's a waste. ADT is not the best. We've had them for 30 years.

ADT is a good company. When something is open, the alarm would go off. Also, if I am not here and the alarm goes off because somebody is inside my house, the police would come here. The only thing is sometimes I forget to disconnect the alarm and open one door in my backyard and it's noisy.

Everybody has been pleasant, and when I pay my bills, I just call them in on the automated system. It's real simple and easy. We had to get a new one of the buttons in the bedroom. A technician came and did it.

The system is great. The only bad experience I've had is I burnt popcorn one night and they called back the fire department. It automatically went to the fire department. Other than that, the functionality is very simple. When I wash windows, I have to take that off of the alarm for like 30 minutes and it's very easy to do. Everything is named and the tools that you have to go to to do all this is very simple. It's dependable and the price is very fair. But one thing I don't like is when I call for service or to get information, I can't understand the people and it's very frustrating not to be able to understand.

ADT's sales rep was knowledgeable about the product. But the product is not living up to what he mentioned. We always have to keep reprogramming our cameras and call them. We set programs in our app and we wanted to record something. But every time we check a recording, we noticed it didn't record for the last two days and the last one we have is at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. If strangers broke into my neighbor's car right across the street where my camera points at it, I couldn't help because my cameras didn't even record that. They did a WiFi check and I've done my part to where I've upgraded my WiFi network plus I bought a mesh system. So there's really no more excuses of maybe the cameras are losing connection. So right now, the cameras record when they record. They don't look really high-depth upgrade cameras. They look like something I could go to the discount store and purchase.
Other than that, we're taking advantage of the alarm system all because they offer alarm system and I don't want to go through the hassle of buying another alarm system. We also like the feature where we could disarm it on our phone. Aside from that, one of our magnets fell and we had to keep bypassing our front door. They are replacing that free of charge. but they didn't call us about it when that should have been a red flag to ask us why we kept bypassing our front door. When I talked to their agents, they were nice, professional, and friendly. But I don't like the customer service behind them not following up on the bypass and on the cameras that we always have to reprogram. I've called multiple times of the issues but nobody called and asked if things are working correctly. Also, the 55 bucks is a little more on the high side for the service I'm getting right now. If I didn't have all these problems then it's worth it.

We bought a house in a sponsored neighborhood and ADT came to us and the approach was sketchy. From the purchase date, we took about a month to move in and then, we got a knock on the door. It was some dude and all he had to represent ADT was a little plastic name badge, which was not at all convincing to me. I spent the entire meeting questioning if he was just casing the house because he looked around like, "Okay, we gotta put security things here." That's no different than, "Oh, I look like I'm gonna break in here." It was very frightening, at first. Also, it was cold then and he was all bundled up, which didn't help his case. He asked to come inside, which is like, of course you're gonna say that to get in. It was me being paranoid and it did not help. I talked with him in our basement because I didn't want him to see the inside of my house. Then, we told him we didn't want any smart equipment in our home and he didn't offer us any other packages or try to expand the services. So long story short, he left.
But about a week later, a different guy came in and he looked like an actual salesperson and he had the whole binder with him, which helped a lot. He came in and we chat at our dining room table. We told him the same thing like that we don't trust smart things and he said that they have all these other things and explained how the keypad doesn't even use our WiFi and things like that. He was phenomenal and very sweet. We ended up getting the fire system installed and it works extremely well. It functions to the highest standard and I feel very secure. It's made a big difference in how we feel about things. For the price, it is 100% worth what you're getting.

I usually call ADT's 1800 number if I have issues with my system. I had a battery went dead inside the wall-mounted box, and I just called the 1800 number. If I got questions, they direct me in the right way. As far as the system, it works. I'm satisfied with it. I've set it off before accidentally, and it set off an alarm and it sent it to the police department. The cops came. The only thing is my dad had ADT and he referred me, and he was supposed to get $100 for referring me and never did.

I wanted to cancel ADT, but they told me that it's a contract, and that I would have to pay the balance of the contract. There are a lot of security products that are much cheaper that do the same thing. So if I could cancel it, I would. One of my cameras went out and they wanna charge me $59 for the tech to come and replace it. I wound up adjusting my doorbell camera to make up for the distance that my broken camera would get. Because I had a warranty, I just got the replacement camera. I haven't hooked it up yet because I wasn't going to pay them $59 to do it. But I really don't need it. Because of the distance that the doorbell and the front room camera have, it's getting next-door neighbors. And they're in and out of the house. I'm better off when it's not ringing and notifying me all the time. I just didn't put it back up because I adjusted my doorbell. Since I'm still paying for it, I'll just keep it.

They've done a good job. Their technicians are very knowledgeable. The folks on the phone have been helpful when I've had to call and say, "I'm old and stupid. What do I do?" All that's worked okay. Everything's fine so far. I got two keypads, one upstairs and one downstairs. I like the app, so that I can just sit in the bed and do what I need to do to turn it on and off. The key fobs are good, too.

I don't like the service but I still have to pay for it because I'm on a contract. I don't even use it. I had trouble connecting it and I just got tired of it. I just turned it off and stopped using it. When it did connect and if the internet turned off, it didn't reconnect itself. You had to go through the whole thing to do it all over again. I didn't like the system and the way that it operates, like the ease of access. Because you had to go from one to another, and you have to do stuff or look at video. You gotta jump a couple hoops to get it all set up. It wasn't very easy to use. But I like the way the Ring system is where it's all-in-one app and you could view it pretty easily.

In emergencies and if the alarm goes off, ADT answers. But other than that, if you needed help, you're on your own. You're gonna go through this automated service, and finally you give up. It’s hard to get to anyone. Our system is old and the cost is really enormous to replace it. So we're just staying with the basic. Sometimes the system doesn't work and we have tried to reach out to them, and sometimes, just having the sign gives us some sense of security. At this time, we’re really thinking about going to different company.

I'm happy with ADT. The installer was awesome. I had some ideas on what I wanted to do and we talked about it. He made some suggestions and we came up with the system together. However, the service is overpriced because all ADT is doing is sitting there, watching. If nothing ever happens, they are getting 50 bucks a month from me for absolutely zero. When something happens, they're gonna call the cops.

ADT came and told me they were taking my security system over. They changed the keypad, set me a rate at 29.95 and said that anything that goes wrong was warranted. They wanted me to sign a five-year contract for 24.95, but they wouldn't warranty it. I started having trouble six months ago. I had problems with one of the motion detector. The battery went dead. I called them and they said that I would have to change the battery. I said, "I've never had any warranty claims, but that's not the deal we made." They sent me a battery, I changed the battery but it wouldn't work so I had to turn it off.
I was told the reason I was without service for three months was the phone line so I had the phone company come out three different times and they told me it was that box that ADT had plugged into the plug-in that transmitted the signal. They said that box is bad. They unhooked that phone jack and the phone was okay. ADT sent me a credit because I had called them and told them I had no service. It went a couple of months and somebody called me. I told them it was not working and I needed somebody to come out and fix it.
They made a date and sent a guy out here. He said, "I have to change it and run a new line just in case the line is bad." He said the parts are free but I had to pay 180 for the labor charge. I told him that was not the deal I had with ADT. He just left and we don't have service since that date. It's been three months and they're still sending me bills. I called ADT and told them I'm not paying them anything. They went from the best company to the worst that I've ever seen.

The salesman showed me everything ADT has. Like every other sales guy, they're always trying to upsell you. It was more than I could afford, so I went with the basic service. I have smoke detectors and a gas detector. The system also has a thing to adjust my thermostat and the light. It opens up my front door and garage door. I'm satisfied. Everything's working the way it should. I also had ADT at my other house, and they've always done a good job.

I like that I would get emails or text messages to let me know that the lights went out. No matter where I am, I'd get that. The system lets me know if I got it on or if somebody tries to come in.

I'm not too unhappy with ADT. They turned my sunroom camera off and it's never been turned back on. They never have come out and looked at the camera to see what's wrong with it. We also had a difference with the billing. They told me that they put in a new doorbell camera, which they didn't. The lady who came out and did the work told me that she did not put in a new doorbell camera 'cause the new doorbell needed to be adjusted. Their customer service went to the service person and found out what she had done and that straightened it out. They've always been professional and trying to help out where they could understand. Sometimes you have to wait to get a hold of someone but I get a call back. I also like that the system can be set from my phone.

My experience with ADT has been good. They went in and installed it. Then there was something wrong right away. I called them and they wanted to charge me. I said, "Wait a minute. How can you charge me for something that your representative didn't install right the first time?" I had to fight them. Eventually, they did. They went ahead and came out there. They sent a tech and he took care of the issue. I've had some issues here and there, but they have been worked out. The girls I've talked to always tried to help, too. Their customer service has been good.

When the alarm goes off, they call quickly. In the beginning, the system was great. Then you have to start putting batteries into it afterwards. The price is high. I'm paying almost $60 a month. Also, if you have to have somebody come to your house, it takes a while and you have to pay for it. Otherwise, you have to sit there and troubleshoot it yourself or with them on the phone.

They weren't as fast as I thought they should have been. And instead of calling me, they should have been calling the police. I don't know what they should have been doing. They were telling me that something was going off at my house and they thought it was a monitor that needed a battery or something fixed on it. It took a minute for it to get resolved because they said all I had to do was take the battery out and change the battery and I did that. But it only lasted for a couple of weeks. They found out that they needed to change my monitor completely.

I'm not happy with ADT. My alarm has gone off and it goes off inside the house. On the outside, you can't hear it until you walk in the house. Nobody would know if there was someone breaking into my house because no one can hear the alarm. When the police would come out, it'd take 30 minutes for them to get here. Also, my cameras don't work most of the time and my doorbell doesn't work all the time. ADT wants me to do everything which I don't want to. I'm having back problems and nerves burned. If I'm paying for this every month, then they can come service it every six months.

The ADT system is very reliable. I have the app on my cell phone, so it's easy to manage it remotely, which is important sometimes. It works. I don't have to worry about if we're safe. However, it was easier a while ago. Everything become so automated and you have the chatbots that you have to go through. But we still are appreciative of the service that we have.
I really appreciate being able to see the video clips. I have either live if we're anticipating a delivery, if we're anticipating something possibly happening in the yard, front yard. We don't have cameras in the backyard, unfortunately. I also like the fact that when we had somebody try to open our front door at midnight a while back, I was able to take the video, save it, and give it to the police. It's there when you need it and it has ways of making sure that you are aware of both live and recorded for information. It's great.
Other security companies have things that they offer and they are having security for your home that isn't affiliated with any company, to be able to do things independently. But what I like with ADT is, that not only do I get what I feel is 24/7 care, but it goes beyond security of anybody trying to break in or in the area that shouldn't be. We had, a few years ago, a chimney flue fire, which we ended up taking care of ourselves. The alarm went off and the fire trucks came. We didn't have to call them. It was taken care of.

The installation took nine hours. The tech guy came, the manager came, and the district manager came. After nine hours, they finally got it to work. It was still glitchy but I was so fed up that I told them to do it another day. When they came back to fix it, it's still the same issue. I paid $250 for this lock. You're supposed to be able to turn on your app, lock the door and see if your door is locked or unlocked if you're not at home. But it doesn't work. They came out 10 times but still couldn't fix it.
It hasn't been as helpful and it's more so just the bill coming out. It's something I'm paying $80 a month for and I'm not that happy about it. I thought it was gonna be an easy experience because I paid for everything flat out, but it hasn't been that. I have the door alarms, the smart locks and a video camera doorbell, but it's not the like Google Nest that they were advertising. I even bought the Google system to make it convert, but that's not what they gave me and that's not what they were willing to give me.
I have the ADT version of the Ring doorbell and it's not connecting, it doesn't record, and it has a super delay. If somebody rings the doorbell and I check who's at my door, it's loading. By then, they're gonna kick the door in. Even by the time it gets done loading, the idea would be at least to have a picture of who was at the door. But there's not even a record. I tried to tell them I'm not happy with it. There was a six-month return thing but I was told no. When I have to call into customer service, they're not very helpful. Whoever does their software is good. I just wish the dude who did the software also did the hardware.

ADT doesn't have anything great to offer me. As a customer, I feel the pressure from them to trying to sell me more than what I need. When I call them for help, they're there. But they do not keep in touch with the customer. Every time there’s an alarm trigger, it takes a couple of times trigger for them to call me back. I feel that I'm paying for something that I don't need. In the past, they would call. Now, as long I put in a password, they don't even call to check on us. What if something happened and I was forced to put in the password to shut it off?
When I have the battery low signal, in the past, they would call and ask if I would like to make an appointment to when it’d be replaced. Now, there's no interaction until I call them. The only time they reach out to me is if I'm falling behind my payment. Otherwise, I don't hear from you them. They should always have communication. In the coming month, I would have to reassess if I need it and cancel the service because it's not needed. A lot of companies out there offer more feature.

I was satisfied with ADT. However, they went up in price too much from what it was initially and they never offered any kind of discount. People have to get paid for monitoring but for the amount of times that I have to use it for a serious emergency, it doesn't equal out to $161. The last time I talked to customer service, I couldn't understand the rep. I talked to her and tried to explain. I was trying to get some information but she could not answer my question. I had even got my granddaughter to start speaking some Spanish to her, but she still didn't get it.

When the system didn't work right and I called ADT to get assistance with it, they kept trying to fix it over the phone, which just wasn't gonna happen because I needed someone to come out here and reset everything. I had to call them repeatedly for two months to get them to finally send a tech out, but they were initially gonna charge me for that. After I told them I would cancel, they put the tech on the phone. He asked me if I could get to one of the cameras, and I told him I would have to use a ladder and I wasn't gonna do that. The rep said the visit was covered, then they sent someone out. Overall, the system is garbage, and the only reason I kept ADT is because I'm still paying for the equipment.

We've had ADT for 16 years. The last year, we haven't been able to use our system and they've been very uncooperative. My wife wants to kick them out, and I keep saying we should keep them. We were getting all kinds of calls. We'd be out for dinner, and we'd get a call. We'd run home. It was a false alarm. Customer service is terrible. It's like they don't care. We asked to talk to a supervisor and we get a runaround. I begged them to come out and fix this thing. They had a guy that worked there up until a year ago and he made everything perfect. Then he quit and here we are. We keep paying every month, and we aren't even able to use the alarm.

I used to have an older system and I got ADT as a replacement. It is not as quick as the old system and it kind of pauses. When you disarm it or arm it, it doesn't do the action right away. You have to wait for it and that makes the old system better because it would immediately do the work. I have an appointment with ADT to come back and explain a little bit more about it. Besides that, I'm happy with the functionality and having an alarm system makes me feel safer. Also, when I call in, ADT's reps are usually very nice and they help me on the phone.

I noticed that I used to like the service before when it was human beings calling. When my alarm would go off, I would get a phone call from ADT. Things have changed a lot through the years. Customer service should be a personal. Maybe there's only enough people in the customer service department and it's thousands of us, but it was better before. Also, the gentleman that installed the cameras fell through the roof. So they had to patch the roof, but everything was great. It was a pleasant experience.

ADT sucks. I keep getting these notices that the batteries have died in the motion detector devices inside the house. I have my stepson who's younger handle that stuff. But I thought it could have been better handled by ADT. So, I called and said, "Can you guys take care of it?" "Oh, no. It'll cost you $60 if we come out." I pay them $37 a month. But as far as I'm concerned, nothing. So, I wasn't happy with that. Look around for other options and go with them.

ADT's service representatives were knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. And since I'm a technophile, I got into the details with them. It was a fun experience. They did good work too. Get an ADT system for your safety and security.

ADT's online tools are pretty good and the installation of the equipment was all lovely. But none of our sensors work and we keep having to change them. We get signal messages all the time. We've had four different techs come in , which we've had to pay for, but none of them have been able to fix it. We've had alarm systems in the past, so this came a bit of a surprise, how challenging it's been. It's been a disappointment, so we really would like to get out of the service. We're busy and we only have so much time that we can allocate towards problem solving with them. We've communicated that multiple times to various groups within ADT. Also, there's a fragmentation in their service delivery which may be leading to this lack of coordination. And it's like many large organizations, they may not be aware of how problematic the service is that is being provided. So, that's an opportunity for them.

ADT is a scam. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy until they get their service and customer service straightened out. They got too big. They can't take care of their customers. They can't handle what they got and I'm not happy with it. I am not happy with them. They are the worst company I've seen for service. In my business, we got cameras and we call them for service because they get down. They don't come for days. They don't care.
I have a business that I pay them a lot of money monthly for, and I have my home. ADT called me to tell me if we'd get another alarm, they would start charging me extra. That is ridiculous. When I took over the business, their system was there. They had a phony ad going through when I bought a new house saying that if we put all this stuff in, it would be all free, and I ended up paying ADT $3,500 and stuff I didn't want. We added a new system. It's worse than the one they had. They have to work on their service department if they want us to recommend them to people. I would not recommend them to anybody that I'm in business with. They suck and I would never use them again.

My ADT system has been awesome though I've had a couple times where I've set it up by mistake. One time, they called me and said that according to the interior sensor, somebody was in the house. I freaked out, went home, had my handgun, and went through the whole house. But there was nothing there. I don't have any pets and I don't know how it got triggered. But other than that, it's been pretty flawless and I like it. It's nice knowing I've got that there. I've also got all the signs and stickers everywhere. And I like the fact that I've got the security knowing that if somebody breaks in, they will either call me or the police. When the system was installed, the guys who did it were really good and professional. They were fast and there wasn't any nuts anywhere. And it worked out really well. Aside from that, ADT's reps are always really helpful. When I have to call them, they always have all the answers I need and everybody's really friendly.

I'm satisfied with ADT's service package, but I would be more satisfied if they had the camera that's on the monitor. Also, they gave me a little box that is hooked to the doorbell. But it's not working because it doesn't show the person. It showed a distorted version of the people who ring the doorbell. But this system is more updated. And the panel is different. This is better than the first time I had it.

The battery would get low quickly where we have to charge it up. Other than that, I like everything about ADT.

ADT is more trouble than it's worth. The system works. However, ADT promised there would be cameras involved and that we would receive them. But when the time came, they did not do that.

I'm not happy with ADT. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of changing companies. They have this motion detector that I've had before and I said, "I didn't have you install it the second time because I didn't want you to install it the second time." The first time, it kept going off. It was triggered by my cats, which they said it's not supposed to do. Then they said, "Oh, no, this is much better, much better." I was in a city two hours away and the alarm went off and it was because of my cats. I can't be sure what's happening except, if it's an internal alarm, then it's like, "Okay, it's my cats." It could have been broken in through the window though. It's a little worrying to me. Also, I was a former ADT customer and when I got the new service, they said, "You'll get $200 off. We'll send you a $200 Visa certificate." I never got anything like that and they said, "We don't have anything down here saying you would get anything."
I had a log cabin built and they said, "Well, we couldn't put in the alarm system by your front door because of the way the logs are being full logs. So we had to put it on the kitchen counter." Walking in the front door and going into the kitchen to get to the alarm is not really the most convenient. So, I'm gonna have to put it where it belongs. Overall, still, I'm very satisfied. ADT is a good company.
I had my debit card hacked and ADT was taking payments directly out of my debit card. I had to cancel that card and get a new one and I had not called ADT immediately. When I did call them, then I got a bill for three times as much. I couldn't figure it out. So, I just kept paying my monthly fee until finally one day I got a hit on my card for 900-something dollars. I was like, "What is this?" They said, "Well, you never caught up the card. And since you were on a payment plan and you stopped paying, we just charge you the whole fee all at once." I was like, "What? You overdrew my account by hundreds of dollars." They said, "Well, we could put it back if you can give us a new debit card number." I was like, "Really? I didn't give you a new debit card because I was afraid you would do exactly this." They did take it back within five days.
