    At first, I was unhappy with ADT and I even called to let my contract go out. But the manager I talked to made everything right in the end when she gave me a lower rate on it. Then, the guy who came out and installed our system put the panel on the wall and it's not up there straight. They said they would send somebody out but never happened. But I didn't even worry about it and that has been over three years ago. Also, we tried their online tools but we never could get that going. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the service package that we got.

    When I had a false alarm, ADT was really good in handling that. But they've been getting worse and worse every time I turn around. I've had a problem with my box for years and they haven't fixed it. And they won't upgrade it because they want more money if I do the upgrade. Also, when I call for services, I have to do my own work and that's not good. I've been with ADT for a long time and they used to be great. Back then, when a customer needs a repair, they'd come and repair the stuff. And when they got here, the person had the knowledge and could actually do the job. Aside from that, ADT wants the price to keep going up but they're just monitoring. So to pay what I pay for is not worth it and I'd tell my friends to go somewhere else.

    In comparison to Brinks, ADT's customer service doesn't work as efficiently. They try to get the user to fix things on their own such as battery replacements. Whereas with Brinks, you could set up an appointment for a minimal charge, then they would come and replace the batteries rather than having you going into panels, disconnecting wires, and hooking them up. I have a hard-wired system and so far, I haven't really had any issues with false alarms. When I've set it off a couple of times, I hit the cancel button, but ADT would still call just to check. Also, I am aware of updated items that are available but the only thing that I've updated with them was a doorbell camera. I use it as an addition to what I already have and it works very well.

    I would tell my friends that my ADT system works, but it's one of those things where if you have other options, check them all out. I live in a 55 and over community and with the choices that we have, ADT is the monitored system that most people here go to because there’s not a whole lot of choices. Plus, they're well known.

    I've had ADT for over 20 years and for some reason, I don't have the same service as I had before. I added carbon monoxide detectors only because I saw it in the news that it's becoming dangerous, so I called them. My smoke detectors are from the builder. They're not from ADT. They only monitor them. In the beginning, the service was good. But now, for the smoke detectors, they tell me, “Well, that those aren't ours. Those are the ones the builder put in.” I don't understand how that works, but there's been a yellow light on my box forever. There’s supposed to be a primary and a secondary, and that's the thing I don't understand. But if I tell them to come over, they wanna charge me. They came out because the sensors were beeping and beeping in the middle of the night, so I finally took off the batteries and threw them outside because they wouldn't stop beeping.

    As far as the other services, I have never needed the smoke detector alarm thing because I'm always home and there's always a lot of people at home. So, I've never had an alarm go off and the police or the firemen come over. The only one they came out for was the beeping part, and then they found out that it was the battery or the instrument thing that was on top. They told me that it had an expiration date. I never knew that until they told me. So, if it goes out before the expiration date, then they take care of it but if it's after the expiration date, then I have to pay for it. So, it was after the expiration date, and I had to pay.

    I'm thinking, “Well, now the yellow light is on.” My husband works all the time and he said, “Let's just call them and see what the heck is going on with the yellow light.” Because it's just there. It's not like before. I never had problems like that. I'm fed up with them. The people that come over are very good and they help out. But when they leave, that's when the lights come on. So if I call them back, then that's gonna be a charge. I've had this yellow light on for months. They told me to change the smoke detectors. They couldn't do it for me.

    I thought ADT would take care of the smoke detectors because I'm paying them every month, but they said I have to go to Home Depot. I went to Home Depot and I bought them, and my husband installed them. But now there's a yellow light, and they told me that I have to go up there. The ceilings are very high in this house, so it's a pain to go up there. They told me that it could be that one of the smoke detectors was a little loose. I'm so fed up.

    I would have left ADT already had I not been too lazy to look elsewhere to find a different company because I'm not truly happy with ADT in its entirety. I'm unhappy with their fluctuation in pricing all the time. There are no loyalty guarantees for us. I've been a loyal customer for over seven years, but that doesn't mean anything to them. There are so many other companies out there that are less. I just don't make the time to go out and search. ADT's pricing keeps going up and I feel like I don't get my money's worth. With what I'm paying, I don't feel that I'm getting everything that I should be.

    The price just appears on the bill. I'm not one to sit and look at my bill every month. So, I set my bills up accordingly. If I know something's gonna be $50 for a month every month, I budget myself a certain way. I don't just pay the bill when it comes to $50. If I know the bill is gonna be $50, I'll divide that by four and I'll pay $12.40 each week towards that bill, so when the $50 bill is due, it's paid. I'm not putting out the $50 all at once because I may need to pay something else. That's just the way I set up my billings. I set up my billing differently than other people. ADT needs to be more dedicated to its loyal customers because if it wasn't for us being loyal to them, they wouldn't be in business. I would recommend them if they were more loyal, but at the current rate that they're going out, I wouldn't recommend them.

    We're getting older and feel that we might need a little bit of security. We got ADT, and the system has been good. It's easy to set and to disarm. It’s a good system. We're very pleased with it. This is a safe area but it gives us that extra to feel more secure about our house and when we have to leave. The reps of ADT have been wonderful. The installers were very knowledgeable and made a good installation. We had to have someone come down and check the system out at one time, and the battery was bad and I couldn't get the cover back on it. And the tech came down and did that for me. So, we've had a good experience both times we've interacted with any of the people from ADT.

    I used ADT for years before Massachusetts. And at the time, they were probably the better ones with services. Interacting with them now, compared to 10 years ago, is a lot different. Getting in touch with the first-line customer service person is good. If you ask for manager support or manager callback, it's very little. Now, they’ve gone the corporate route where they just charge you for every little thing that you do. I'm not too happy with them right now. We bought a carbon monoxide and fire detector from them and those were installed in the wall. The product failed and we were pretty much told that they wouldn't fix it and that we needed to buy a new one. I had to buy a new one.

    Also, we had a carbon monoxide leak while I was waiting for them to install the new one. Our furnace had a crack in it. So, we had it there for a week or two, if not, longer, because we originally were quoted $400 for the new carbon monoxide. And after six hours’ worth of phone calls, I finally got someone. They said it was only about $100. We got a brand-new furnace. I had them install it, but it took about a week and a half for them to get out there to do it. And then between that time, our furnace failed and we had a carbon monoxide leak.

    We had ADT at my old house, and then we also had them when we moved out here. We've had them for 20 years out here. I have a Ring that my son-in-law put up a long time ago. So, I stay with that and I have not changed anything. I keep the landline for ADT and to find my cellphone. I had a false alarm and they called immediately. Once, it went off at 2:30 in the morning and, a week later, it went off at 4:00 in the morning. The police came the first time. And the second time, I told them not to come. Then, ADT came out that next day and changed all the sensors in the door and there was a malfunction in the board and they fixed that, too. If a friend were to ask about ADT, I'd tell him to take it.

    Our alarms went off by accident twice and the people that responded were very quick and very nice to work with. But we're disappointed a little bit because I don't have an instruction booklet and I tried looking up the things that need to be done online. But I don't even know what system I have because nothing was left for us when it was installed. We were told we didn't really need an instruction booklet because that's what the technicians are for, but you can't get ahold of the technicians.

    We had two technicians come, one to install, and then someone else came out to reset something for us. We were told to call the technicians if we had a problem with our system, which I have been trying for quite a while now and I'm getting an answering machine for both of them and I don't know if it's theirs or not because it's a generic answering system. I've tried several times and I don't know if I'm dialing the wrong number. Right now, our alarm system works but it's not set properly. It's sitting on the alarm screen and I have no idea how to get it back to where it should be. They've texted me twice now to update my system, but I have no clue how to do that. I'm in limbo with everything right now. But the experiences I've had with people at ADT were good.

    I've been using their service for eight years here in Arizona and they've been working fine for me. If I have a problem, I call them and they handle it usually remotely. If I need batteries, they'd send me batteries and if I have problems putting them on, they work with me and figure it out. But I'd like to be able to understand the system a little bit better, like if I want to monitor something that's history, I'd like to be able to go back, look it up, and get it on video. I'm sure they have it, but I haven't asked how to go about it.

    We were looking for a security system and we ended up with ADT. We haven't had any problems with our system other than changing batteries. We've been pleased with it. I haven't had any dealings with anyone, other than just calling once in a while to get a yard sign or something. Getting an actual rep is like with everything else. You just push a button or two and you'll finally get to the right person. I would rather have nothing automated but unfortunately, in our day and time, everything is. It's not too bad though. Since having ADT, we had never been scared to be out here. The reason for having it is we want something when we're away from home and to be sure our stuff is protected when we're gone.

    I've always had a good experience with ADT's customer service team when I had to call for an issue or a question. I did have one employee who was really helpful. His name was Mel and he did a really good job. The installation went well, too. The installers were quick, got the job done, and were out of here in the right amount of time. As far as the system, one of my favorite features is the indoor camera that I have. I'm allowed to check on things when I'm away. I would recommend ADT.

    My military nurse wife was called up for duty and since I worked, I wanted to make sure that the house was fully protected. So we got ADT and they gave us a great rate. It's a military rate. So we're very, very satisfied with it. The signs alone kind of deter people from thinking about entering this house. ADT made sure that we were up to date with the latest technologies but the price was a little bit too much for us, so we just have a regular doorbell which rings loud enough. We can hear it throughout the house.

    Whenever we call ADT, someone answers right away. They are very, very good at what they do, but we've had issues with having our alarm on for certain periods of time, and it's gone off for no reason. We've gotten calls, and then the police had to come out. So we're kind of frustrated a little bit that they don't service us that well. This has been a couple of years back, and they said they fixed it, but it hasn't been fully fixed yet. But that's partially my fault. I haven't called them back since I've been busy with work.

    ADT is a good security service. They've been responsive when alarms went off. So, it gives us peace of mind that we're getting what we're paying for. We had a false alarm. My wife forgot to put the code in to disarm the system and she never heard it, but then 5 to 10 minutes later, an officer was knocking on the door. The representatives at ADT have been all right. It's just the system has a couple of glitches in regards to how the notifications come through. Sometimes, they'll come through immediately and then sometimes, they'll lag. Also, I called ADT and they told me that a service guy would call me back in the next five minutes, and it had been three hours and 16 minutes and I haven't received a call back from the gentleman. So, my experience was not horrible, but it was not the best.

    I don't like anything about my cameras or my doorbell. It never works. I can't see anything from my cameras. It's really hard to get anybody out there to do anything. The last time I contacted ADT, I was on the phone for over an hour trying to get the cameras to work. So then they had to send somebody else out, but he couldn't even fix the problem. I have been without cameras since I got new Wi-Fi and that's been about three months. My contract is almost up in October, so I'll be cancelling.

    The keypad on the wall is easy to use. I just punch in my code before I leave the house and when I come home, I just enter the code again. The system performance is excellent and I'm very happy with it. We had a bad sensor a couple of months ago. After we set the alarm, we left and then we got a call from ADT saying that one of the doors was recording that it was open. So we came home and everything looked fine. I called ADT back and they said, "Oh, it's probably a bad sensor. Would you like us to send somebody?" The guy came and replaced the sensor. Everything was fine.

    ADT is expensive and I don't like being stuck in a contract. Every single time you wanna add something, it's expensive. I was kind of misled by our Realtor. They told me I was gonna get all this equipment for free, and they did do the installation for free but I later found out that had I gone through this with ADT, I would have got the equipment for free. And now, I'm stuck in a contract for five years with them. So, I wouldn't have done it had I known. I do use the app on the phone, and I like it. And as far as the quality, it's okay as long as you have internet. If the internet goes down, which happens frequently where I am, the system goes down. The only other thing I would add to it is a Ring doorbell system. I had Ring previously and I liked it better.

    I don't like the ADT system at all. I tried to cancel it, but they wouldn't let me. My truck was stolen out of my driveway and no camera caught it. But it caught me coming out of the door running after it. I never really had to get ahold of anybody except the one time I tried to cancel it. I thought I was under a two-year contract, but the rep informed me that I was in a three-year contract.

    I've had great experiences with everyone that I've spoken with at ADT. They're very polite and professional. I'm 88 years old. Some things, I don't understand if something goes wrong and they make me feel very comfortable. They don't make me feel like I'm old and dumb. I feel secure with ADT. I know if I accidentally set this alarm off, which sometimes I forget to turn it off in the morning before I come in the kitchen, that phone is ringing just almost instantly. They're very prompt.

    I’ve had good luck with ADT so, I just stayed with them. But they’re a little pricey. I've had to call and had them reduce it a couple of times because they keep on creeping up on me. I'd like to get a little better deal. It seems like the new customer gets a better deal than I do after I've been with ADT for all these years. They reduced it some but I should not have to do it every so often. At some point, I'd like to have a better feature to have a panel downstairs because I only have one up by my front door. When I need new signs, I call and they send them.

    ADT is good. We had a false alarm two months ago. The police were called but it was too late to cancel. I feel that's good because if it wasn't a false alarm, where we live, sometimes it takes cops a while to get to our house. At least we know that they would come out.

    The service of ADT has been okay. I only had a problem with it one time when it went offline. The system went down for a day. The installation guy was very informative and he was very good. I felt sorry for him because he came so far from where he lives, like over two states. That's terrible. They don't have anybody local in the area. Their prices could also be a little better.     ADT has a deal where they send a text out when you have an alarm and you can open the text up and let them know whether it is a false alarm or not. But when I had an alarm yesterday, the text message program didn't work. They called the police back and they called a couple times. We finally got the message through that it was false, but I was real disappointed that the text program didn't work.

    We’ve had ADT for 12 years, and we've been very satisfied so far. Customer service is very responsive. They came out and serviced our system for us, and they didn't charge us because it was the first incident we had with a low battery. It was the first time in 10 years that we had called ADT for anything. The system always works. I wish sometimes that it was a little easier to operate, but as long as it turns on and off, and as long as it notifies when it's supposed to, we're good.

    When we got ADT, we had problems from the very start. We had to call them out because we needed to give the recording to the police but it would disappear. One time, the guy next door had a stolen bike in the garage and the next day, he came and got it, put it in a U-Haul, and took off. The night before the police went over there and said they didn't see any bikes in the recording. The film would have told them what really happened but we couldn't get it out. And that thing never worked properly.

    When ADT's techs came out, I asked for an extra camera, then we got these bills we didn't know were coming. I wanted that camera up because our boat got stuff stolen off of it and we were trying to get license plate numbers for the police. But we couldn't see stuff from the camera through our cellphones and computer. Plus, it didn't hold the recording. We complained about it and we called about the contract. We told ADT that we were not using the system and they said, too bad we signed a contract. So rather than argue and fight for the whole thing, which is not worth it, we're now paying on a dead horse. They system hasn't worked in years and we're still making the payments until next year. We're only doing that so the credit doesn't get messed up. Other than that, I wouldn't refer that company to anybody.

    Even when we call for checks, they didn't come out right away. And when they did, we still have the same problems. They tried to fix them over the phone and we're trying to do everything. The system hasn't even worked for three years. I also got a thing in the hallway that doesn't work. It's black and there's no power even going to it.

    I like the keypad and the motion sensors but I am not happy at all with ADT. They're the worst. If I could have gotten out, I would have gotten out. I had ADT in Staten Island and loved it. I never had an issue in 17 years that I had it. I figured I'd get the same alarm system when I moved here. But I have not been able to turn my alarm on three times since I've been here. All the things fall off the windows. I paid extra $150 for a sensor for the door to the garage door where it could go up and down from my phone. It worked when the guy was here but it never worked again. The first person I spoke to was friendly but other than that no one seems to help. Everyone would say they'd send out a senior tech, but I've had three technicians come out and they couldn't fix the problem. It's ridiculous. I'm paying $50 a month for nothing.

    The customer service has been good. My mother was overpaying them and she had such a credit so she hasn't paid anything for a year. The installation team has been fine as well. They came out the original time and had to come out again and update the system. However, I can't get the alarm to turn off. The house is still in alarm. But every time I've called anybody, they've helped. I couldn't hear the rep with the alarms going off, but they helped with silencing. On Thursday, somebody hit the fire alarm and didn't realize it was attached to the ADT security system.

    Customer service is okay, but they keep trying to get things fixed by the main office and you can't do that. There's only so much you can do over the phone. Generally, the installation team has been good. But they're always in a rush and when they leave, we've got other things that pop up within a day or so. The biggest thing that's wrong is that ADT expects the customer to exchange batteries and pay for them out of pocket. We're already paying quite a bit for the service. Also, I'm in my 70's so it's not comfortable climbing up on ladders.

    I've had ADT for 12 years now, and the service itself, when it works, is top tier, A-1. As of right now though, I wouldn't give a good score at all. I can't set my security alarm. I've left reviews online, and I've called ADT multiple times. They wanna do a teleconference Skype call, but due to my job, I'm not home a lot to where I can make it work. I've asked them multiple times to just come out here to look at the system because I can't get anything to work, but they never showed up to help me fix my problem. I haven't had ADT security for about the last year and a half, and I pay every month for it. All in all, I love the service, but I have had no luck. I would hate to cancel it for the fact that I'm hoping maybe one of these days, they’ll help me fix it.

    I've had ADT for 14 years and they've been okay but I am looking to switch to somebody else. ADT may be obsolete now because the cameras out there now are taking the job of what the security system does. ADT has their own but I have a different company for that. I always see commercials of companies coming out with newer and better things. So, it's only a matter of time. I have sensors for the doors and windows. I did cameras on my own and that’s more of what I want now. I have an older panel and every year, the battery has to be replaced, which is why I’m getting tired of it. It frustrates me. It beeps nonstop when it goes out and I gotta purchase the battery on my own. It’s easy but expensive. It's $70 for a battery pack. So, I'm just waiting for the right moment to see a different company. ADT keeps jacking my rates up every year. There's another company out there that's probably cheaper than what I used to pay.

    I've had ADT since 2013. I just have a simple system for my windows and doors and when I leave the house sometimes to go grocery shopping, I will forget to put it on.     I put ADT in when I first moved in here about 20 years ago and the setup was very easy. The tech came, set everything up, and programmed all the security situations. It was easily done and he was here for a few hours, because at that point they were doing hardwire for a lot of stuff and they had a battery pack on the wall. Then, I recently changed things and upgraded.

    I had a number of issues over the 20 years prior to this new system, but they've been extremely responsive. When I needed the battery changed, they came out and changed that. Then, I had here a recent issue after the new system was put in and had to call for assistance. The gentleman walked me through everything. They've been very helpful and that's why I stayed with them and didn't go somewhere else. Pricing is good. Security is responsive. They actually contact you very quickly if the alarm goes off. I've told a number of friends and other people that it's a good service.

    We first got ADT 20 years ago. It sounded like a good deal. Then, my husband passed away and I moved here to my new home and I continued on with the service. I'm comfortable with the system and I've had their reps here and they're fine. I have had some instances where I might have done something wrong or something happened and I couldn't identify it and needed to call ADT. The last time that happened, I got a young woman on the phone with me and she was fantastic. She stayed with me until the problem was solved. But other times, people aren't that sensitive when they're dealing with an elderly person. They lose patience or don't have the patience that perhaps they should. Fortunately, these instances haven't been numerous and I've been able to handle them myself.

    When it was time to change the battery, it was nice of them to send me a box. But who is going to get up there and change the batteries? I am 72 years old. They're not expecting me to get on the ladder. I didn't like that. Also, I called them about the chime on the door and someone walked me through how to do it and I took notes. She was new at this, but she was willing to keep me on the phone and try until we got it right. But the door is still not chiming and I've decided I'm not gonna call ADT again. They wanted to charge me $59 but I've been a loyal member of ADT since 2016 and I'm not paying a service charge. This is their equipment and they need to come and service it. I would not recommend them and I'm looking at some other choices. They're not the only people that service security.

    I had the ADT system installed four years ago and the features then were okay. But now, it's low quality. They were falling off the wall, they didn't have batteries to work anymore, and it was expensive. Also, they put the heat detector right outside my shower. Every time I took a shower, it would go off and I couldn't shut it off because I was in the shower so the police would come. It was a pain in the neck. I wanted them to fix it and they wanted to charge me how much money to do that. I liked the app, though. I could do stuff on it.

    But their customer service is awful. There's nobody that you can talk to about your issues and that understands. I talked to one man about my batteries and he said, "Oh, just go to Walmart. You can pick them up anywhere," and that's not true. They are wrapped in a special pack. ADT should service their customers and they should come out every couple of years and update the product, because the products are outdated. I finally just cancelled the service. The new company I'm with is half of what I was paying ADT.

We moved out of the country - cannot transfer services - and they not only billed me through the end of the contract but processed a cancellation fee. Would never use them again.

    I was given faulty camera's that don't work from their authorize seller who phone is off and voicemail full. And Adt can't reach them. But adt still want to charge me for broken equipment still knowing they can't be reached even when they try.     People should get ADT because they’re very good. I can see inside my house when I'm in here as well as when I'm not. And if I go out and don't press my key fob, I can go on the app and set it no matter where I'm at. Someone’s coming here to see what's wrong with my camera on the outside. I had the maintenance guy in my complex move the camera where I could see because the squirrel got up there and moved it over. When he did, it went out on me. We tried fixing it and it wasn't coming on and ADT said maybe it’s something with the scene card. Another thing is, my bracket broke when I got up there in the living room to look. It was worn. All I did was move the camera and the thing popped. So, I called ADT to see if I could get another bracket. But they don’t sell just a bracket. I would have to buy the whole camera and the bracket together. And that’s 100 and something dollars. So, I’ll just go online and see if I can find one or a similar one.

    I just wanted to get a quick setup, which I have now. The technician who came out was able to install all the cameras and get everything to work. He was also very knowledgeable in calculating the angles of the camera so it could cover the entire backyard and front yard. I am in travel status but when I return, I’d probably add some more sensors or cameras inside the house. The app on the mobile device is very good and when I log in with my laptop, I don't have any problem. There are other things there but I want to keep everything simplified. I get alerts if anyone shows up on the property and the doorbell. So, I'm happy with it.

    I hate ADT. When I first bought my house, they already had a system working with ADT, so I just reconnected it using my account. I've contacted their customer service several times. I don't have anything against the actual people working at ADT. The technical support team is really friendly. They helped me with every single issue that I had. It’s just I had so many issues. Something really bad happened inside my house. My daughter fell into the pool. Thank goodness I was able to catch her in time. It was very traumatic for the whole family. But I wanted to see, so I checked back on the security cameras and I don't have any recording. I called ADT and I was really upset that I don't have any recordings of what was happening in my backyard.

    The way it was set up, the cameras don't record 24/7. Then I tried to make them work 24/7. They never will. It's just the way the ADT system is. So, I hate this system. For me, it doesn't make any sense. Why is it a security system if I don't have a 24/7 recording? I tried to cancel my ADT account several times because of that. They said I couldn't because I had a contract for three years. Also, the doorbell never works. The people who work at ADT are great. They sympathize with my frustration, but there was nothing they could do. I will not recommend ADT. A lot of stuff happened, and I didn't have any recordings, and it really upset me.

    I think I'm paying ADT way too much for a service that I'm okay with. The installation was fine. There was a miscommunication on what I was being sold. I couldn't get ahold of my salesman. I purchased another motion detector. I set it up myself. I was told that my dog would not set the motion detectors off, and they do set the motion detectors off. I do use the system. And I do feel better having it. I just think it's too expensive for just the products that I have.

    The only time I'm in contact with the reps from ADT is when they call me when I'm accidentally setting off my alarm and when other family members forget to turn it off before they enter. With that long run, there’s a sense of urgency to turn off the modem. But everything is fine with the system. I just have to change the battery on the sensors from time to time. It’s not bad. But for somebody who’s not mechanically inclined, they tear it up and tell them to send them another one.

    ADT is a good system but my bill keeps going up. I had a different house in a different city and things were cheaper across the board as far as the cost of living. ADT is not the only one going up but I should be paying less than what I'm paying and being that I only have two doors covered via the alarm. When I had it in my prior residence, it was ADT that came out to do the installation and was monitored and I paid the bill, too. But when I got this home, they contracted it out. So, part of my bill is paying for the middleman who came out to do the installation. It’s in the contract. But I will give them a call because that contract is up with that third party.

    When I first got ADT, the rep told me a bunch of stuff. I specifically remember asking them if I was gonna be locked in and they said no. Then, I found out I was stuck in a three-year contract and if I try to end it early, I have to pay everything upfront, which is three grand. That was not clear to me. So, ADT should let people know. The customer service from that standpoint was horrible. The doorbell or Ring camera doesn't work 7% of the time. If there's someone at the door, I need it to see who's at the door and it doesn't pull up. It's not good. I went to talk to ADT about it and I got the runaround about trying to get it removed. The app is good, clean, very concise and easy to use but some of the features don't work or as efficiently as they should. I would not recommend ADT to anybody and I would be leaving them as soon as my contract ends.

    I’ve been with ADT for 20 years because of the service and trust that I have in them. Whenever I have a problem and I need to reset something, they do an excellent job. If I have questions, they answer thoroughly and make sure I understand. I'm comfortable with them. I have the alarm around my whole house where it announces that the door is open. When a glass is broken, an alarm will go off. And I added cameras. I feel secure, especially since I’m a retired senior. Sometimes, when I open the door and I forget to close it, and I realize I got the alarm on, I rush back and put in my code. ADT will call me in about two minutes and see if everything is okay. They ask for my safe word and go from there. Once I put back my alarm when it goes off, it clears it. Also, ADT would send me a text saying that my alarm went off and they saw that I put in my code. So, they have good backup service too.

    If I need to reset my chimes because the power went off, I can call. The longest I ever waited to get somebody on the phone was three minutes and then, the rep walked me through all the sequences. I want to change my code and my safe word and set the chimes because once again, the power went off and I forgot to set the time. I could go online but I like feedback from a human being, so I'm gonna call them and they'll set the time for me. It’s laziness on my part. I just haven't done it. With the cost of living and the way things are now, you're always looking for a better deal. So, I’d always like the price to be cheaper.

    We had a guy come out about three months ago and he boasted and said that we can’t get any better cameras. But ADT had one of the worst cameras we’ve ever had. The guy didn't know anything and he shouldn't even work for ADT. He blew us right off. He was supposed to get back with us but never did.     I always have a good experience any time I call ADT although I don't call often because everything typically works smoothly. They always try to give me the best discount and the price is fair. I’ve always had a keypad which works great. The only thing is sometimes the key fob doesn't last as long if you use it a lot. But other than that, the keypad is wonderful.     My ADT system is very good. It's very simple to set. Because I don't have a lot of different features, I just set it when I'm leaving. I have a remote control that I use when I come back home, and I just use that to come back on. I don't have any problems at all. It's very simple. I have no difficulty setting the alarm and turning it off. I do like that they give you enough time to get to the system to turn it off if it comes on accidentally.     We moved in to a prefab new home and ADT was the only one that was offered. There was a panel that was already preinstalled for emergency services and any optional cameras would be out of pocket on top of that. I did the basic and they added a free camera, so I threw that in. Also, I added a camera for our backyard so we have front driveway and backyard cameras. The installer was a real nice guy. But we had some issues with the connections a month later and I contacted them again and someone else came out.

    The only gripe I have with the system is that the cameras don't self-record and they don't alert any movement or motion. If I'm not home and I'm not sitting there constantly watching my cameras, I don't know what's going on out there. They just sit there and I have two cameras that are useless. I'm not upset about it but it's like, “Why do I even have that thing?” The only thing that updates us is our front doorbell camera. And we've had our fire alarm go off a couple of times and it did not alert fire or police. Overall, it's not really doing much. The app is nice, though. I use it all the time.

    Every once in a while, I get a call about the rate going up, which is disturbing, and I'm not sure why they even have to do that. That's weird.     The worst service, high price and if you cancel them they will send you a final bill and harass you to pay the bill or keep the account, rip off company. Do not use them, try other services, I got a final bill of Almost $500 for canceling my service after I shut down my business, I Even informed them and I asked them to close my account and still they charged my bank with 3 month of service while my business were close.

    I’ve been with ADT since 2020 and want to forewarn others who are considering using ADT. After signing the agreement, you only have 72 hours to cancel your contract with them without any penalty. If you decide to cancel after 72 hours, then you may be facing over $1,000, even if all your equipment is fully paid off. ADT has the right to increase your monthly plan after being with them for 12 months, regardless if you signed up for 24-36 month on a set amount per month - they won’t tell you that up front.

    You only have 90 days after signing the contract for a technician to come out to your home at no charge. After 90 days, ADT charges $100 per hour for labor. Unless you pay an extra $7 a month on top of your regular monthly plan, then the cost of labor per hour is between $50-$99 an hour. The only equipment that stopped working since my installation was the wireless doorbell charm. I recommend using the google nest doorbell camera that comes with a google nest speaker. The 1-800 number customer service is lousy. Very poor customer service. I’ve had better luck with my local ADT representative. Only reason why I use ADT is because their external cameras with infrared are better than Xfinity security cameras.

    Beware of ADT Alarm Systems: My Frustrating Experience. I want to share my experience with ADT and advise against letting them install an alarm system in your home. Our ordeal began when our State Farm insurance agent informed us about a deal they had with ADT. What followed was a series of issues and frustrations with the ADT alarm system installed in our home.

    High Costs and Lack of Transparency. When the ADT installer arrived, he convinced me to purchase additional equipment, which cost an extra $1300. The contract was signed via Docusign, but it lacked an itemized list of the costs, leaving me clueless about what I was actually paying for. To top it off, he left us with a Google Nest Hub that I didn't want but was told was part of the plan. Later, I discovered we were charged $125 for the Nest Hub. Despite calling ADT 12 times to have this charge removed and return the unopened Nest Hub, I was met with excuses and no resolution. Initial Issues and Resolution. Just two days after installation, frustrated with the lack of support and transparency, I decided to cancel the ADT service. Only then did an agent offer to refund the cost of the Nest Hub. I wish I had canceled right then and there.

    Recurring Technical Problems. Three months later, one of the 3-in-1 sensors (smoke, carbon monoxide, and heat) began to emit a "low battery" chirp. Despite replacing the batteries and verifying they were good, the chirping continued. After several calls, an ADT representative finally acknowledged that the unit was defective and sent a replacement.

    More Issues and Inadequate Support. Last week, another 3-in-1 sensor started chirping. I went through the same process of replacing batteries, but the chirping persisted. Multiple calls to ADT led to various agents giving conflicting instructions. One agent suggested removing the batteries and resetting the system, which ultimately caused the alarm to go off and triggered a seizure in one of my dogs.

    Continued Frustration. After another series of calls, I was informed that I would need to pay $160 to replace the defective unit, as the warranty was only 90 days. I refused to pay for something that failed after just five months. An agent attempted to help me remove the unit from the system, but that night, the alarm went off again, triggering another seizure in my dog. Now, I have a non-functional alarm system and am stuck paying $35 a month for the next 2 ½ years for a service that is more of a headache than a help.

    Conclusion. ADT's business model seems to involve selling defective systems that require frequent and costly replacements. My experience with their lack of transparency, poor customer support, and defective products has been nothing short of frustrating. I strongly advise considering other options before choosing ADT for your home security needs.

I called early and a young lady spoke very good English. The next one I got was Spanish, but I could understand her. The last two experiences were great. But before that, I got so angry that I told them to cancel my service. They walked me through how to do it and it stopped and it started back and they sent a tech out and repaired it. They gave me a day and a time and they were fine and the man came and fixed it.

    ADT is a dreadful company. My daughter had spoken to an individual and it seemed like every question she asked, he read from a piece of paper to respond in a certain way. The service stinks. I will make preparations to eventually leave this company. They collect money from me every month without any problems. The only issue that they were on the ball with was if I went to bed and fell asleep and forgot to set the alarm system. They say, “Oh, you forgot to set your alarm system” or “Your alarm system was set after 10 o'clock at night.”

    After three months, three batteries went dead. They wanted me to pay for the batteries. I said, “This is your batteries.” They were supposed to last nine months. The batteries lasted three months, which indicates that they used the batteries that were used before I got them. Also, they wanted me to replace the batteries. They will send a man, but they'll charge me to replace the batteries plus the cost of the batteries. There was nothing but dissatisfaction with them every time I spoke to them. Tomorrow, we're supposed to receive the batteries in the mail which will cost me $20 or more. They want me to pay them for things that should be provided free to me. I would never recommend ADT. ADT is not a customer-friendly organization.

    We had ADT in the past when we were living in almost close to wildlife. At that time, it was all motion sensors. There was nothing with the cameras at that time. We were there for almost 18 months and then we closed it. That time, a little kid was there with us and all wild animals were roaming around. We took it back in New Jersey. And then now when we finally got our own home, we just thought of having this service again with the camera. All two roads, back side and front side, are linking to the different roads. So, we wanted to have an observation. For now, it's good. We don't have any issues. The only issue which I could see is to have another camera. We need to add it also. I purchased a couple of new cameras which are compatible with ADT. If someone can install it apart from the two cameras which I got, then that would be great.

    The ADT system has always worked fine. But I wish it wasn't quite so loud because if I set off the alarm, it’s enough to ruin a person's hearing. When they were originally setting it up, I heard my daughter say she wanted everybody to hear it. I don't know at this point whether it bleeds into the neighborhood or just inside my house.

    After years of having ADT's medical medallion, my kids talked me into trying a newer one with them. It turned out to be a disaster. It was a big chunky thing for my wrist and broke the first time I tried to use it. I went back to my old medical medallion that hangs around my neck and is 35 years old. I wish they would give me a better medallion, but I understand that they've quit. When I did it 35 years ago, it went with the package. Now, it's no longer that way. But it's a very nice thing to have it be part of ADT as opposed to having to go with a different carrier for a different reason and because I did it so long ago, I still get it as part of the ADT package rather than an additional expense. I'm delighted with ADT. But if Comcast isn't working, then they don't work too.

    I have been with ADT for 20 years. I never had an alarm system ever before. I still have the same package and it still works flawlessly. Years ago, one of my motion detectors, it showed up on the screen with a code number and the girl said, "Oh, yeah. That's your motion detector in such and such a location." I said, "Okay. When I get the battery at Walmart or whatever, can you walk me through how to install it?" She said, "Sure." She told me how to deactivate that zone. I went and got a battery. A couple of days later, I called them back and got a step ladder. I said, "Okay. How do I do this?" And she told me and it was done in five minutes.

    A few years back, I wanna put an alarm in my garage door. I have one big garage door because I have a two-car garage. I work on cars, so I have a lot of things in there I want protected. So I called up ADT and said, "Hey." What I was thinking was, everybody's got these garage door openers that work by their cell phone. You don't have to even be near it. You could be driving and you could open the garage door and you're two miles from home. I didn't want something to happen, when someone's driving by, and they hit their garage door opener, and the signal makes my door open. So I said, "I'm gonna call ADT to see if they can put a thing on the big garage door." They came out and it was a nominal thing. It was $68. It was ridiculously cheap. They put the thing and hooked up and said, "Okay. You're all set."

    ADT meets my needs for alarm service. Over the years, with technology and advancements, I didn't feel like I got less support because I wasn't interested in upgrading my system.     At the time that I acquired services through ADT, I thought they were the better choice. But not so much now. They're not what I thought they were. I've seen things and been through things with ADT, having to get simple things straightened out. I had two accounts, and as I was going through the experience and sharing it with people, they were saying, "I don't know why you went with ADT. They're the worst." The system works except for my cameras that doesn't constantly work. For the camera above the garage, when I'm logging on to try to see video, it may log on or may not. It'll say for me to run some type of test, asking if the Wi-Fi password has changed. As I'm trying to go through and do everything, it still doesn't resolve the problem, then all of a sudden, it'll pop back up one day where it's working.

    It is easy to call and get in contact with someone but I'm not as satisfied as I should be. There's some improvement ADT needs to do that they're not doing. I don't think there's any communication when you're trying to call. If you call, talk to a rep and get disconnected, the next day, your problem is still not rectified. One person was telling me one thing and another person was telling me something else. Having to go through that for over a month with a property that had sold and had the owner to sign up with ADT to take over my contract was the biggest headache that I had to go through.

    When I moved to this house, ADT did a wiring and secured all the windows. But after the lightning hit, the windows are no longer secure. ADT didn't replace anything but we're thinking about at some point upgrading our system. They send out a report to my email every month letting me know I'm still connected but my house is not totally secure. There are no cameras and phone services. Right now, I have the bare minimum security from ADT though I have a sign out in front of my house which might deter folks.

    ADT keeps my house secure but I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody. I had some windows replaced. The sensors all work except for the front window. I asked ADT to send me a new sensor but they won't even do that. They said they don't send those through the mail. They want to charge me to come out and replace it. if I'm wanting their equipment, I shouldn't have to do that. Customer service sucks. They should treat their customers with some respect. They should be out here, fixing the problem. I'm on a contract with them and if I try breaking the contract, they're gonna charge me.

It’s very pricey for having a house full of people but the system has been good so far. However, I didn't get a guy back out here.     ADT is the worst anybody can ever have and every chance I get to put it out there, I'm gonna put it out there. I got ADT and I pay for it every month because they work against people who don't have it. ADT wasn’t bad until they showed me for 20 years they’re not gonna protect my house. An anti-jammer blocks the signals and that allows my next-door neighbor to come in my house. He stole all my clothes and took my chandeliers out of the ceiling. He took the speakers out of the components and stole my air fryer. And then last week, he came back and took some more dishes out of the kitchen again. I call ADT and tell them but they do nothing about it. They keep telling me it’s working on their end. I'm losing everything. I go out of the house and I have to take six bags like a bag lady. I'm 68 years old and I shouldn't have to be going through this. I thought I moved here to be settled down and to be in a quiet neighborhood.

    I'm moving overseas, so canceling the service of ADT was a natural course of moving. I'm not gonna have that service over there. But I've heard that those who canceled because of poor service, get the runaround. I’m not gonna play that game. There were some nice things about the service, but the detractors really pulled that down. Part of the reason why I stopped service with them is they wanted to charge me $80 for them to come out and take a look at the panel, a panel that they installed that filled their own update. I said, “I'll save myself the service fee per month and just terminate service.” They have a good customer service presence in the beginning. They install it professionally. But they always find some way to put you over the rock for coming up for a service call or fix something that was their faulty equipment.

    I'm not satisfied at all with ADT. After having it for nearly 29 years, I may have to change. I am looking into alternatives now. There are numerous things that go on and they are charging an arm and a leg for my security system. It's about $65 or so per month and what am I getting? Two of the sensors are not working. When I called and told them, they said, "We will charge you money." Then whenever I go on vacation out of the country, it's impossible that at least three false alarms will not be there. I do not know how and why the false alarm occurs. I have to pay $75 per false alarm. The police came and there was nothing there.

    My money is being wasted completely with ADT. I even go for a week and there are at least two false alarms. I go for a month, there are three to four false alarms. Before this, in 2023, there were four false alarms. I paid $75 per false alarm to the Village of Woodridge Police Department. I'm not here to just shell out money and ADT does not take care of my thing.

    One technician came out to inspect our home. My daughter was there. She got everything examined because the false alarms had already happened three times. He said one of the sensors was malfunctioning, but nobody opened the door. So, that had nothing to do with the alarm system. I'm pretty savvy and well-informed on the ADT alarm system by now. Also, after he left, there was another false alarm 15 days later. 10 years ago, I told them that I wanted another remote for my children's bedroom so that they could arm and disarm right from their bedroom. There was no action taken. I could go on and on with what's happening with ADT. The only plus thing is that I asked for a new ADT sign, and they sent me two yard signs.

    I'm not happy with ADT. When I signed up for their service, they promised me a $100 promotional gift card, which they never gave me. They stopped responding after the serviceman came to my home to sign up for this service. He stopped responding. I called ADT customer care, and they just say, "Oh, we don't have any record of this promotion." So, I'm just waiting for the contract to expire so I can get out of this ADT service. Also, when I was out of home, I received a burglar alarm on my phone, but 911 was not notified. I have no idea what triggered that burglar alarm. ADT doesn't have any clue. They should have better customer care and they should live up to their promises they made to the customers.

    I'm not happy with ADT. They try to take advantage of people that buy new homes and convince you to sign up for things you don't really need for services. The only reason I got the coverage last August is because it came hooked up to the house as a smart system with a brand-new home. The guy came and hooked it up. I fell for the extra coverage that I didn't really have to get. Apparently, a lot of homeowners in the neighborhood fell for that as well, and I didn't know that you didn't have to have all that extra coverage and pay for all this. It wasn't even anything I really needed, and it's not even anything that good. I could have just bought the same stuff through my actual homeowners insurance who apparently offered the same type of thing and they would have given me the same equipment. So, it was a rip-off. Also, they make you stay signed up for a few years at that price. It's ridiculous.

    I like ADT and I've had it for at least five years now. It's a good system to get. I sometimes don't cut it on, but I feel very secure when I do. They're on top of everything. They immediately call when I'd be smoking up the house, and they'd be thinking I'm in danger. I like the way the system can signal and let you know something's going on when you're not aware of it. It lets me aware that something is dangerous somewhere, especially if I'm in another part of the house. I like the alertness of that. It shows on the system, too.

    I love the way the ADT system works. We have it on the doors where you open the door and it rings. I have two sets - one in my room and another in the hallway, which is fantastic. I'm happy with ADT. At one point, the price was expensive. We were paying 66 something and I almost canceled it. Then they said, “We can lower it for three years. As long as you keep it for three years, we're gonna give you the same price for three years.” We stayed. We like the convenience of having it and being able to lower the price was a big plus to me. At the time that I bought the package, it had everything I needed and I have not added to it since. However, recently, I've been in contact with ADT on why my monthly payments have been increasing over this last year to the point that it is. It's gone up at least $20 from when I initially signed up. I was told that it's now month to month. They're gonna continue to raise the prices until I decide to either leave or sign up for another three or four-year period that I will not do.

    Whenever they had to come out and fix anything, they didn't charge me extra. There've been times when they said they were gonna but we had a conversation and they didn't charge me more. ADT is responsive but there are some things that I would like to be better. They weren't able to fix what I wanted fixed, but I'm not sure any company might be able to do it.     I can't get any service. My alarm system is showing low battery for smoke and low battery for heat. Neither one of those are true so how can I trust ADT?     I am not too happy with ADT in general. Unfortunately, I did not read the fine print. I don't appreciate garbled explanation and contracts. I wasn't aware that once I signed up, I would be locked in for three years. I hated that. Then when I went to contact the tech who was supposed to come out and get everything installed, it took over a month for him to come back out to look at the security system that he installed and spent 10 minutes there when I had called every other day for a month and a half straight to get him out.

    The problem is that ADT is not just ADT. There's a mother company and no one told me that. I was calling ADT this whole time and they couldn't help me. I was being transferred to every possible customer service representative that they had. Finally, they got me over to the mother company who's the one that holds all the accounts and contracts. Right off the bat, it was the worst experience. I've got my internet or electric or water company that reaches out to me every so often to ask how everything's going. ADT has not reached out once and neither has the mother company. I've made it my point that I will never recommend ADT to anyone ever.

    The service people that came out and did the service were on the money. They kept their appointments and knew what they were doing. They also gave me instructions on how to use the services. ADT also sent me the information that they had other services they offer that I could purchase. They told me if there was anything I needed from them, I can call. When I need something, I call them directly. They either help me out on the phone or give me what I need, if I have to have an appointment. Those things are on the website but the phone is much more efficient. I can resolve the problems quicker. When you send the stuff on the website, it takes them a while to respond to it because they got other people. If I directly call them, then I get a response like that. ADT is fair and honest. They accomplished what they said they were gonna do and that's all I can ask for. For the amount of service that I pay for a month, the service has been excellent.

    I got fed a bunch of crap and I'm not happy about it at all. The salesman promised us all this stuff. I was not aware they were a third party. I was thinking it was ADT. Once they came in and hooked everything up, we told them we had a dog and wanted a motion sensor in the house. They said they got a motion sensor that would work very well with an 80-pound dog or less. We got the motion sensor and paid all this money for it.

    When we set the alarm and left, we weren't gone five minutes down the road and we were getting a call from ADT saying somebody had broken into the house. We came back home and they said the motion sensor went off. My 5-pound dog jumped on the couch and set it off. They said the sensor must be faulty and they'd send somebody out to look at it. They sent somebody out but couldn't find anything wrong with it or with the placement. They said, “It must be faulty. We'll just give you a new one. We'll switch it out.” They switched it out.

    We went somewhere and set the alarm. Five minutes later, the alarm company called me telling me the motion sensor was going off again. They came back out again. I ended up having to have it taken off completely. They told me it was a lot better if I get the window sensors. It was gonna be another $1,000 to do all the windows. But when they first sold me the alarm, they told me how secure I was, that it was all perfect. They sold me some glass break sensors and they put them in, centrally located. I asked if those were gonna cover all the windows and they said yes. Later on they said if someone breaks in the window in the bedroom, it probably won't hear that one because it's far.

    They put the cameras over my garage. I got one outside camera. That camera started not working. It kept glitching. I couldn't see the video. After telling me that I had everything I needed, they were telling me my internet was not fast enough. I needed faster internet because it was not reaching the camera outside and I need more cameras that I gotta pay more money for. I called my internet provider, and they upped me from 100 megabytes to 500 megabytes. But the camera keeps freezing and still doesn't work right. It won't download videos or stay on. I called them back and they said my router is too far away from the garage. I told them every house has a router in the front room. I had to buy a device to plug into the wall closer to the router to transfer signal. That was 50 bucks. Once I did that, it started working.

    I couldn't get my doorbell camera to work half the time. I told them, "You guys have been installing these systems for how many years now. You knew when you installed my system that I was gonna have all these issues." But they didn't wanna tell me how much it was gonna cost me. I had to go buy all this stuff on my own to get what they installed to work. Once I got my system installed, the managers were supposed to call me back but they never called me. They said, “You gotta understand, they're out in the field.” I said, “You gotta understand, I'm a new customer that they promised things.” They haven't called me in over a year. Now that ADT has got my monthly payment, they're done with me. They won’t call me about anything else. No upgrades. No nothing. They screwed me over and that was the end of it.

    I've been satisfied with the service over the many years that we've had ADT. When I've had them to do something, they've been very good. There are other systems that have come out, but so far, ADT has worked perfectly for what we've done. I'm an older guy that lives by himself, and I when I go out, it's my little remote that I have for setting the alarm and coming back in. I'm moving slower so I don't have to go down the hallway to get to the main unit. I've also connected it through various other electronic devices I have to talk to and control things that when I need help, I can quickly call them.     ADT is a well-known security system and I've been protected by them for 30 years. They upgraded our system 10 years ago and I find it a tad bit confusing when they did. They didn't give us any instructions on how to use it. They said we could go online and get the instructions rather than give us a pamphlet. I find it not as easy to use as my basic system was.     ADT bought out the other company I was with and now price is higher than what we were paying. Also, they have not converted the phone app that I use over to ADT’s app yet. It's still alarm.com. But everything is simple to use on that app. Before ADT buys another company, they should get an idea of the equipment that that other company has so it's not so hard. We had to wait on ADT to get the parts for my camera because it's a different style camera that ADT doesn't use. That's the one thing I wish they would have done so they wouldn't have to come out there multiple times for the same issue.

    The alarm works as expected, and I like that when the doors or windows open, the alarm would talk and verify which door or window is open or being accessed. When the alarm goes off though, no one calls. My previous alarm company would always call and make sure everything is verified, even if it just went off by accident.

    ADT called me about four months ago to renew the contract, and at that time, I expressed what I felt about them, that they can have somebody call me. I said, "There's no need to.     If a person is older and want to feel safer in the home, I would tell them to get ADT. They're very caring. My husband had passed away and I am here by myself.     The features of the system are good, but this morning, I had an issue with the camera. I need to do my backyard camera too because it's not recording. I've had ADT come a few times before.     Almost three years ago, an ADT salesman came and said that since we just bought the house here, they had some special offer for us. We got started with ADT, and initially, it was okay, but then they started trying to hard sell us some more sensors. I just wanted the basic thing. Installation was the same thing. The installer put in the ones that we purchased, then he offered to sell us more, but I didn't want more. Besides that, it was well cleaned up after he was done. The features of the system are nice too. I'm not sure how to change the batteries, but I'll figure that out.

    ADT got a little expensive after a while, because I'm on a fixed income, but I live out in the country so it's good to have security. We had a power outage recently, and the system sent an alert to the local police department, which was a good thing because it's good to know that it works. There was no problem, but it was reassuring to know that the police were there within moments.

    We live on 20 acres outside of town. Our house sits back off the road a little bit so there was a potential of robbery. When we built the house, we went with ADT. It's the Cadillac of security systems. Two years ago, we did a complete upgrade. They upgraded the alarm system on the windows and the doors that go to the outside. We have sliding glass doors that have a sensor that indicates that the door is being broken, which works well for us. They've got sensors inside the house as well. I use the app on the phone if I'm gonna be leaving then I can disarm it through my phone as I come back or as I'm close to the house.

    I also have a driveway alarm since the driveway is 200 feet long. We originally went with a sensor that you break the beam, and it shuts and sends an alarm into the house. The problem with that is if leaves or branches or animals move in front of it, it breaks that beam so you get to the point where your alarm go off but there's nobody there. We ended up getting the model that senses the passage of heavy metal as it goes by it and is buried in the ground. If somebody pulls into the driveway and drives more than halfway down the driveway, they won't see the alarm, but I can hear it from inside the house.

    When we bought the original system, we had the placard that you attach to the outside. Weather and time have reduced it to almost unrecognizable except for the shape. I sent to ADT and told them that that happened. They sent me two brand new ones. I changed the position of that one so it doesn't face the sun anymore ‘cause the sun will bleach out the blue. Then I have the other one in the house as a spare if something happened to that one. The price is another plus. With my home insurance, I can get almost the fee for the service taken off my premiums because I have the service.

    In the beginning, everything was falling off the wall. The installers couldn't hook up the camera system and the double-sided sticky tape wasn’t sufficient enough to stick the little sensor to the wall so I kept having the sensors fall off. So, they'll have to be inactive whenever I arm my alarm until they come back. It was like that for about a week.     ADT sucks. My experience with them has been highly negative. The 2 years that I've had them have been financial hell. When I got the flyer, I made a mistake and that's on me. I was not reading the fine print. I thought I was going to be able to get ADT for 30 bucks. But in the fine print, it said you gotta have a landline, which I do not. The guy who installed it did not explain it. All of a sudden, 30 bucks turned into 50 bucks. I now pay 65 bucks a month to ADT because they have raised their price. I'm 78 years old and living on social security. Also, my housemates still get kicked off from the app on the phone. They have to come through me to get a code. We give it to them, hopefully, within their time limit then they can lock or unlock the alarm.

    ADT gave me motion sensors in the house that could be activated by something over 50 pounds. I didn't know any of my cats were over 50 pounds. The motion sensors get set off by my cats. We tried to turn the sensors off but there is no way to do that. I'm a little slow now because I've got a torn meniscus. One of my other roommates is even slower so we can't just push the button and run. We have to go outside and use our phones. We had to pay extra for the basics that were needed. When I have the money, I'm gonna switch. There is no incentive to stay with ADT. The people are good, but they're handcuffed.

My motion detectors weren't working and they told me it was gonna be a $50 trip charge. I paid that, and when the guy fixed my motion detectors, he did something. My system used to talk and say, "Arm. Alarm. Off. It's on," and I really liked that, but now, it doesn't talk anymore. It was a new issue, which would be another $50 trip charge and I'm not paying ADT another $50. Besides that, the system has been doing okay.

    My cabin is out in the woods and anybody in the world can go into it, but ADT has kept it safe and protected it for 23 years. I feel safe at night with it. I've got Ring cameras and I can see who it is or what's going on. But ADT does not call the police anymore.     I have two houses that are on ADT, and installation went really easily. The system works really well so I'm not much in contact with the reps, except when I blow it or somebody else does by not turning it off. I have the entry and motion detectors, and whenever I need signs, they're prompt in getting them to me. My house is marked, and that's as big a deterrent as anything. It does what I need it to do. I've been with ADT for years, and I'm gonna be moving at some point, but I will continue with them. I've recommended it to people as well, and some of them have gotten the system.     ADT has been present in the house since 2020. It was originally in my father's house, then I took it over. They told me that if I stayed, they wouldn't up the price for three years. Besides that, I’ve had to call customer support several times because some of the sensors got knocked off. I have had to replace the batteries in the alarm system, which was moderately difficult. I had to take apart the alarm panel. I have also had to add cameras myself, and I still cannot use their app on my phone because while they let me change the email address that it's registered under, in order to authorize it, it sends an email to a non-existent address.

    I use ADT and to start, the customer service was great. We were in the transition of changing our security company over, and when I purchased the system through the sales guy, he came out. He recommended all the things that I knew I was gonna get, but the installation service side was not planned out very well and not very good. When the guy set up the system, that's where the ball was dropped at. We were getting some timers added to the lights, and one of them got added, but the other one did not.

    As a result, I don't know if ADT didn't pay the electricians to come out and do it, but the electricians called me and said they were gonna put a lien on my property. I said, "For what? I don't know what you're talking about. I worked with ADT on this, not with you. I don't even know who you are." The next thing I knew, I had to call ADT and say, "Hey, you need to contact this company. They're gonna put a lien on my property. Because they didn't finish the work so that's why they didn't get paid." They got it worked out, but the work never got finished and I just gave up on it. I've been with ADT for four years now, and I'm not getting what I paid for. We've had some issues with the other equipment that they installed as well. All in all, avoid ADT. The customer service is not very good there.

    We've been customers for 40 years. We started out with the Bel-Air Patrol in Beverly Hills, California, then ADT purchased the company. The system works all the time, and I have no complaints. We've added on a couple of rooms, added security to those rooms and upgraded the bathroom as well. It's been so trouble-free that we've had very few problems, and if we did, we had the people come out and fix it.

    Last night, I had a problem inadvertently opening the door for the dog after I had already turned the alarm on. After that, I couldn't reset the system and I wasn't getting a message on the panel. ADT referred me to technical support. I waited a couple minutes and then got this wonderful woman who walked me through a number of things to do. None of which worked, and here I was, a 76-year-old woman at home at night with nobody here. I had to go down to the basement to where the panel is. The woman talked me through how to disconnect it and power it down then power it back up, and it worked. Having to get a flashlight and a screwdriver and unscrew the bolt that holds the plug into the wall wasn't that easy for me, but the customer service was absolutely fabulous. I'd like the woman to get some sort of credit for helping me.

I can operate it separately, but it's as one.

    It's easy to get in contact with an ADT rep. I can go online or call. I haven't done it recently, but I've done it a couple times initially. I have door and window things that tell me if they're open or not. With my garage door, one kept going off for a while and we got that taken care of. A guy came out and changed all the batteries and looked at everything. I mentioned that I don't think one of the motion sensors is working, but I was told it's working. Other than that, everything's been fine. Overall though, the system isn't the greatest, and I'm looking to change it.

    The features that come with my system are good but not that good. But I haven’t upgraded because ADT wanna charge you twice what it’s worth.     I have had different issues with my front door camera. It's not working. ADT did not and will not allow me to get out of contract. There were several attempts to try to get the front door working. They haven't other options as far as what I can do. I didn't like that everything has to be Bluetooth or nothing can be battery-operated. Everything has to be wired.

    The transformer was too weak. So, it wasn't holding it. ADT gave me a transformer to get an electrician to come replace it. And I had it replaced. That was the first electrician that I had to pay for to change the transformer. But it didn't work. The front door camera kept going out altogether. I couldn't restart it. And they said, “Now, the transformer is too powerful.” It gave too much voltage to the front door camera, so it made it automatically power off. I spoke to an ADT service manager who contacted me and asked me to get the correct transformer and have ADT and the electrician here at the same time. I did that. But we still weren't able to come up with anything. That was when the electrician finally determined that the wire is now bad.

    After months of having months of having ADT come out and try to repair it, I've spent much money on having different people come out and taking off work to have ADT fix my front door camera, we found out that it was a wire issue. ADT doesn't have other options as far as me having a front door camera that isn't wired, instead of other options out there like Ring that has battery-operated. That way, I could at least get the wired issues addressed and have to come back out and fix it. So, I have to get an electrician to come out and fix the wired. But I'm still in contract for a service that I don't have with ADT.

    If I cancel, I have to pay 75% of the remaining balance of the contract. And it doesn't sound right, especially since I couldn't even use the service. I've had issues since week two. They have full documentation of everything that has been going on, how many times their reps have been out here, how many times I've called to reset the camera. I haven't had a month when I've had all services working correctly.

    At first, I bought this house and ADT installed the alarm panel on the wall and had the battery in my bathroom that blew out my entire up, downstairs, and middle outlet because it was too powerful. And they messed up the front door camera. So, it has been a lot. The experience for not even six months has been horrible. I can't wait for my three-year contract to be over so I could cancel since they wouldn't let me cancel it now.

    I'm not happy with ADT. My service has not been working for over a year. I asked them to come out and service it and they told me I have to pay a fee, which I have had other security services on other homes and they do a yearly check. Then when I try to cancel when I called in my trouble, they told me I couldn't cancel through the people that I was talking to about my problems with ADT. So, I'm paying for no service.

    When I do try to use the system, it continuously beeps and keeps people up at night. So, I have to just not use it at all. Then, they give you instructions online on how to change the battery, but the instructions don't match the type of equipment that I have. They told me in order to make an appointment for someone to come out, there would be a fee. I called the support services and I was talking to them about trying to set the appointment. When they told me there would be a fee for them to come out, I said, "Well, I wanna cancel my service now." They said, "You can't cancel through us." I was so frustrated, I did not. Shame on me because I'm still paying for a service that I can't use. They sent me a survey about their service and I put down how bad it was. You would think they would do a follow-up call. I still have never heard from them.

    The last time I tried to talk with ADT, I did not have a good experience. The local EMS people in the county I live in gave everybody a new address. I called ADT about a problem. And in the process of that problem, I told them I needed to get my address changed. The person that took my call argued me up and down that the address they had on file was the house. They could transfer that account to a new house.

    I kept trying to tell them it was my original house. It was the house the system was installed in. I had lived in it 47 years. And all I needed to do was change the number of the street. And this person did not understand or could not understand. It was someone with a heavy accent that I could not catch all that she was saying. I was right at the point of telling her that I would drop my ADT subscription. ADT needs to train your people, whoever it is that takes phone calls, that when someone calls and tells them they need to change an address, because somebody else had done it, they were living in the same house, they don't need to try to convince them they can't move it to another house.

    This has been over a month ago, and I asked at the time to speak to a supervisor. Finally got someone else on the phone that helped me that got the address changed. I asked to have someone contact me at that time. No one did. I got an email a couple of weeks after that, and I put on the email I gave ADT a very low rating, and I told them then I wanted someone to contact me. I was very dissatisfied with the service I received.

One guy did a camera on one side of the house and had to call his brother to help him finish it. It took them two days to do stuff. Other than that, the monitor service is good. They would call promptly if something went on. And if I need something fixed or repaired, they would come out and do it the next day, if not that day.
