If I could give this company a ZERO I would. First of all, we were under a 3 year contract. When that contract ended, we called to ensure cancellation. They were insistent on our contract being cancelled. NOPE - got a statement 1 month later stating we owed $623.00 for a renewal. When called, not only did we get transferred 6 times we were told that we "verbally" signed a contract. Make THAT make sense "verbally signed" an agreement. When asked to provide that, we were told they could not provide a LEGAL binding contract that we supposedly signed.
Another month goes by, and I get another statement in the mail. I called, got transferred 5 more times to someone who said that they re-opened our contract under a relocation ... WE HAVE NOT MOVED. So instead of canceling, they took it upon themselves to reopen our "contract" under a verbal with a relocation. THAT IS TERRIBLE BUSINESS. Not only did we call to CANCEL and were told they would gave me a cancellation number, but when calling again they couldn't find a cancellation number. They told ME that my husband verbally agreed but then turned around tonight and said that I verbally agreed. They told us our insurance would go up if we did not have a security system in. They LIED and said that we both agreed to a verbal contract at which nobody can provide us. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY TO EVER HAVE AND WILL NEVER EVER BE RECOMMENDING THEM AGAIN.

On Jan 9th 2025 I called ADT. My door sensor was overriding. The first rep read a statement saying if I get injured or damage my property while troubleshooting ADT is not responsible. I questioned that statement then the rep. read it 2 more times and I said I agreed he responded I did not sound genuine.and he thought he heard me make an additional statement. I stated how much time was wasted on the call and no resolution. And that he's on the clock not me he responded "I'm getting paid". I requested to speak to a manager the manager transferred me to a more experienced rep. and he was helpful told.me I needed a part and he would order the part and also told.me the last rep put a note in the system saying I refuse to agree to the statement. A total lie.
The experienced rep put me on hold to see if the service fee could be waived he never came back and I got routed to another rep who wasted time requesting a total recap the experienced rep did not log notes. She transferred me to another rep who I told I was not starting over after wasting 1 hour with prior reps. I requested that he have the 2nd rep call me since he resolved the issue..He agreed of course no one called. To avoid the crazy rep.show I will find a new provider with a team that helps customers. Should not be paying for a clown show

ADT is far inferior to the Vivint system I replaced. Their customer service is sub par. New system is 2 weeks old and the front door lock and garage door sensor do not work. They give a week window for repairs and never show up. Then upon calling again another week is added. I would NOT recommend this company. Plus on top of it all there is a sub contractor that does the install which is probably why they don’t care how long it takes to resolve your issue. The salesman basically told me his hands are washed off it once it’s installed. “Call customer service” which seems to be useless.

If I could just give zero stars and still leave a review... It took over 40 minutes on the phone to cancel the monitoring service. Transferred to five different "specialists", one each transferring to the other, asking for the same information each time and trying to upsell on something I clearly no longer needed. It was a simple task with an unnecessarily complicated process. The best part was they called it a submission for a "request" to cancel service. Bless your heart ADT. It was not a request. Been with ADT for over 20 years until I moved. Service was great until they ended it with this noise. Will not be using them again.

After being a loyal customer for 10 ½ years, I’ve never felt more betrayed and disgusted by a company. For the last 3 years, they played me for a fool, taking my money every single month without providing any service. Every time I called for help, they would assure me a technician was coming, but no one ever showed up. And when a technician finally decided to appear, they wanted to charge me extra fees, even though I was already paying for a service I wasn’t getting!
It gets worse. They convinced me to buy sensors for $120, promising they would arrive at my home within a week. After 2 months of waiting, I called to find out where they were, and their response? “We shipped them, we don’t know why you didn’t receive them.” Turns out, after some digging, they never even processed the order. How is this acceptable?
ADT is nothing but a money-hungry company ripping off customers with fake promises and horrible service. They’ve stolen years of payments from me with no accountability, and their customer service is as useless as their security system. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from ADT. They are thieves masquerading as a security company.

It took over 40 days to remedy a technical problem beginning with an average wait time of 20 minutes after the recording tells you 5. Attempts to resolve the issue remotely were satisfactory, but I was advised to purchase a new battery from them (at 3x more) because of assurances of shelf life; waited 1 week to receive the wrong battery; after waiting another week the correct battery didn’t work because the unit didn’t work, my model was obsolete and I needed a new system. I was told on the first service call, but opted for what I believed would be a quick and less expensive option. No one wanted the responsibility for the return of unused second battery. After no service for 40 days I was only granted a partial refund. Thankfully we have a great watch dog!!!

Don't waste your money!!! You can buy a security system yourself way cheaper than ADT. Definitely wasted thousands of dollars for nothing & they call CONSTANTLY throughout harassing you to come back to them.

This is the worst security system!!! I regret ever signing up with them. They have horrible customer service and technicians that are worthless. We had to pay an electrician out of pocket because their technicians did not connect our cameras properly. Therefore, our cameras were not working for months and they kept charging us a monthly fee. When we called customer service about this issue they gave us the runaround and never reimbursed us nor did they try to resolve this. We also found out that the cameras they installed were refurbished when we paid full price for the equipment! They are a bunch of scammers!!! Beware, save yourself the headache and go with a different company instead.

I've been an ADT Home Security customer for quite some time, and they have always treated me right. I initially chose ADT because I never had any problems with them, which made me stick with the company over others. Contacting their customer service representatives is not hard at all. I would rate their customer service a 5, as I've only needed to reach out twice, but both experiences were positive. If someone were to ask me about signing up with ADT, I'd say it's a good place to go based on my experiences.

I decided to go with ADT because I had heard about them prior and thought they would be a good choice. So far, I haven't had to use the system much in terms of setting it often. I haven't needed to contact customer service, and I think the quality of the equipment must be good. I don't have any problems with ADT and would rate my satisfaction with them as a 5.

I first heard about ADT when a salesman knocked on my door, and the timing couldn't have been better since I was already considering a security service. I've been with ADT for two years now, and the initial interaction with their sales team was pleasant. The installation process was smooth, handled by a professional and polite team who ensured I understood how to use the system.
The service features have met my expectations, and although I haven't had to test the system in an emergency, I did accidentally trigger the alarm once. ADT promptly called, and everything was resolved quickly with a password check. Overall, I rate my experience with ADT as excellent. The customer service is good, but there was a bit of a challenge when I tried to get security cameras hooked up, as ADT doesn't offer this service.
The security features in my package are impressive, and the initial sales process was seamless. The pricing is decent, though a bit challenging at times due to my retirement. Lastly, their online tools are somewhat challenging to navigate, so a simpler interface would be beneficial.

I've been a loyal customer of ADT Home Security mainly because it's the only option available in my area. I've never actually needed to contact their customer service since I usually manage my account through the website, which works fine for me. The equipment package they offer meets my expectations, however, purchasing parts from ADT is very costly. For example, they charge about $20 for a battery I can buy for less than $5 at Walmart. It seems they inflate their prices on third-party products. Overall, I'd rate ADT a 3 out of 5 due to their pricing issues, though their system's efficiency and the website's ease of use deserve a 5. I'd suggest ADT consider reducing their equipment prices.

I have been an ADT Home Security customer for over 20 years in both my previous and current homes, so it's been quite a while since I initially heard about them. Recently, I've faced challenges, especially with customer service. I encountered a system malfunction and found it impossible to reach a live person for assistance, which was frustrating. The system remains malfunctioning to this day.

I first heard about ADT from an affiliate when I bought my house. The sales rep was very nice, and the installation process was easy—they did a great job. I've had the system for a little over a year, since August 2023. I appreciate that the system provides notifications and images of what's happening, which is reassuring. However, there are some drawbacks. There is often a delay when someone is at the door, causing me to miss the live interaction. This defeats the purpose of having a security system. Additionally, there are times when the camera fails to pick up people, even when they walk directly past it. This has been concerning, although thankfully, it has only been friends or family so far.
At one point, I suspected the issue might be related to my internet connection. However, I have the fastest internet from Comcast/Xfinity due to working from home. Thus, I don't think it's an internet issue. I've also had problems with my back door sensor. Initially, ADT tried to troubleshoot it over the phone rather than sending someone out, which was frustrating. When they finally did come out, I was charged $75, even though the issue existed from the start. For a while, the app on my phone showed a malfunction with the sensor; however, after another person came, it now works properly.

I've been using ADT Home Security for some time now, and overall, I am quite satisfied with their service. One of the primary reasons for my loyalty is their reliability and consistent service. When I have questions or concerns, I have no problem getting in touch with a representative as I tend to call until someone answers. Although we've sometimes needed help over the phone, we've never required a technician visit, as most issues are resolved through these phone interactions. As for the current package, it meets our expectations and needs. If we weren't satisfied, I'm sure we would have voiced complaints by now. In general, I'm a satisfied ADT customer.

I have been a loyal customer of ADT Home Security because they provide reliable service. We've had issues with previous monitoring companies, but ADT has been satisfactory with no major problems. When it comes to reaching customer service, I find it fairly reasonable to get a hold of someone if there is a service issue.
Our current system meets our expectations, and we interact with it using both the phone app and the website, which I find relatively easy to use. I would rate the overall experience with ADT as a 4 out of 5, and similarly, customer service also gets a 4 out of 5. In terms of pricing, I would rate it a 3 out of 5.

I authorized the installation of a new security system with ADT, but it's been nothing but trouble. The system isn't even working, yet I'm being charged for both the installation and the monitoring, which I did not authorize. When I attempted to contact ADT about these issues, I received no response; I even requested a bill and never got one. I initially chose ADT because my father had their system, and I decided to continue using their services after he passed away. When the old system stopped working, I was convinced to upgrade, but unfortunately, the upgrade has been a disappointment.
The installation team was pleasant enough when they came out, and the technician even provided his contact information for any follow-ups. However, despite reaching out multiple times, I never received any response. To add to the predicament, one of the sensors he installed fell and broke. After a prolonged 10 months of back and forth with ADT, they finally shipped a replacement. However, it initially got lost, and even after receiving it, the new sensor hasn't been installed yet.
Regarding their services, I had a break-in about three to four years ago, and the system failed to trigger—just another letdown in a series of issues. Based on my experience, I would rate my interaction with ADT as a 2 out of 5.

I initially chose ADT because they are a well-known name in the security industry, and I wanted to support a young salesman at the time. My interactions with both the sales representatives and the installation team were positive; both were nice and professional.
However, in terms of the service features, I find ADT to be more expensive than I anticipated. Had I conducted more thorough research, I might have opted for a different provider. Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT as average.

I have been using ADT Home Security for around 40 years. While I'm mostly satisfied, I have some issues with their service. Specifically, the backyard camera isn’t functioning properly and makes noises. I’ve been waiting for someone from ADT to address this, but I haven’t received a follow-up yet. Besides this, everything else with their service has been alright. Overall, I'd rate my experience with ADT as a 3 out of 5.

I initially chose ADT for my home security based on my previous experience with them. However, my recent experience with ADT has been quite disappointing. When I moved to my new home, the salesperson misled me on several fronts. I ended up paying triple the quoted price, and the equipment installed was not the one I requested. They installed incorrect color sensors and, despite my complaints, I had to settle with what was provided. Additionally, I was promised a $300 incentive and another financial offer if the buyers of my previous home used ADT, but neither materialized.
Unfortunately, my interaction with their installation and customer service teams hasn't been much better. I had an issue where I believed my alarm wasn't being monitored despite the company's reassurances via email. I've accidentally set off the alarm multiple times, and I let that thing sit there screaming and hollering for several minutes. When I finally couldn't take that high beeping anymore, I turned it off but I never ever got a call.
Due to these experiences, I have no intention of renewing my contract once it ends in a few months. I feel deceived and neglected by their customer service and have no plans to recommend this company. This experience has led me to lose all trust in ADT.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been quite unsatisfactory. Initially, I believed it was an additional benefit provided to us for better internet and TV services. However, I later discovered it would cost around $45 a month, which was not feasible for us given our financial situation. When I tried to cancel within 24 hours, I was told it would be taken care of, but no one contacted me as promised. I’ve spent months trying to get in touch with the right people to cancel, only to be bounced back and forth between ADT and a company in Tucson that installed the system.
For those who can afford it, ADT may be a good service, but it has put an unexpected strain on our finances, and I’ve been left with a service I cannot afford or properly use. After a power outage, the system was left unplugged as I couldn’t resolve the issues it was causing. Throughout this ordeal, customer service has been inadequate, with no follow-ups from their end, leaving me to initiate all contact. Overall, dealing with ADT has been a frustrating experience, and I would rate my experience as quite negative.

I decided to go with ADT Home Security because they were already installed in my home when I moved in. However, I am not satisfied with their service. The experience has been spotty, particularly with one of the cameras often malfunctioning, likely due to Wi-Fi issues. Moreover, although a persistent problem with batteries dying has mostly been resolved, another issue arises during power outages when the system fails to revert to its power source, causing the batteries to deplete and trigger annoying beeping sounds.
Dealing with these hassles is frustrating, and I dislike having to pay for fixing problems that aren’t my fault. In terms of customer service, reaching out isn’t overly difficult, yet it’s not particularly easy either. I’ve encountered worse with other companies, but ADT’s performance still leaves much to be desired.
Though I've attempted to explore alternatives, I haven’t made the switch yet. Overall, I’m not thrilled with ADT and would rate them a 2 overall. The pricing, the system, and the customer service score all get a 3. I just have been lazy in trying to find alternatives. But I don't love ADT at all. I had somebody come out before and they convinced me to stay on for a little while.

I've been a customer of ADT Home Security for quite some time, initially choosing them based on a recommendation from a friend. Our experience with ADT has been very positive. There was an incident where my wife accidentally set off the alarm, and their response was impressively swift—the police arrived in just five minutes.
I appreciate that the system makes a noise when a door opens, adding a level of security and awareness. Whenever we've had minor issues, ADT's customer service has resolved them promptly. The response from their team is quick, and they've always been helpful. Additionally, they provide signs for the windows, which adds a deterrent factor. I feel confident recommending ADT to everyone I talk to, knowing they have reliable support when needed.
Customer service experiences have always been excellent. I've consistently been satisfied after speaking with ADT representatives. As for a rating, I'd give ADT a 5, fully recommending their services.
We're planning to move in a couple of months, and I intend to continue using ADT's services in our new home.

I have been using ADT Home Security for several years now, but my experience has been less than satisfactory. Since setting up my equipment years ago, the only communication I've received from them is my bill. I wanted to pay off my equipment in advance, but they insisted I pay it over time, and it seems it's still not fully paid. Recently, my fees increased without explanation, and I find it frustrating. I've even thought about canceling their service altogether, except for carbon monoxide monitoring, as I'm unsure about the level of security they provide.
There seems to be a lack of communication from ADT. In my previous home, the alarm triggered calls from them. But now, I don't know if I even get calls. When the alarm goes off, I reset it. And I may get a text saying my alarm was reset.
Overall, I find it challenging to differentiate ADT's service from having a simple ring camera, leaving me uncertain about the added value I'm paying for. I'd rate my experience a 3 out of 5 due to these unresolved issues and lack of communication.

I've been with ADT for a long time, and my experience has been mostly positive. Initially, we chose ADT because a friend recommended them, and it was a convenient option at the time. The installation team has always been great, and the technicians are reliable. There was one instance when a sales representative suggested an unnecessary major update, but the technician resolved it with some simple upgrades, and the system has been running perfectly ever since.
In terms of service, everything has been satisfactory. However, I recently faced a minor issue. After damaging our ground signs due to hurricanes in Florida, I contacted ADT for replacements. I was told I had to wait until after the first of the year to get new signs. I expected more consideration given the circumstances, but it's not a big issue since the new year is just around the corner.

I decided to purchase ADT because people were pulling into my driveway in the middle of the night without any reason to be there. The sales representative was very nice, and the installation went smoothly. The technician was a good guy and a very nice young man. The system's quality is just fine, and it works without any problems. I don't have any additional feedback for ADT, but overall, my experience has been positive.

My experience with ADT started due to a recommendation from my nephew who works there. He connected me with someone for installation, and it was relatively simple to get set up. I also bought an ADT doorbell; however, they failed to inform me that the battery couldn't just be replaced— the whole unit had to be changed. This left me without service for nearly a year. After a lot of back-and-forth, they eventually replaced it with a functioning doorbell.
Customer service was frustrating during this time. They told me it was my responsibility to replace the doorbell without mentioning that it needed full replacement when it stopped working. It was quite a wait to finally get a resolution.
While this incident was disappointing, my overall experience with ADT has generally been positive. Despite the doorbell issue, I've been satisfied with their services.

I’m quite dissatisfied with my recent experience with ADT. Having been a customer for over 30 years, I initially had a wired system that functioned perfectly. However, when one of my keypads started malfunctioning, I was informed that there were no parts available for my system and I would have to purchase a new one. I spent over $3,000 on a new system but have faced numerous issues since then. For the past few months, the keypad in my bedroom hasn't been working. Despite several service visits, including from a senior service technician, it was determined that the keypad probably won't ever work due to signal issues. As someone who lives alone, I wanted the security of being able to control the system from my bedroom, especially in emergency situations.
I was suggested to use a remote control or a mobile app for which ADT initially wanted to charge $50 a month. After much back and forth, they offered $40 a month, which I still refused. I found it unfair considering my relatives who also have ADT don't pay for mobile app access, thanks to a discount through their State Farm insurance—a detail I was not informed about, despite also being eligible. Additionally, each time I requested service, it took approximately two weeks for a technician to come out. This situation has been frustrating and feels like a nightmare.
I'm upset and feel taken advantage of. I do not plan to recommend ADT to anyone, as they have not treated their existing customers well in my opinion.

I've been a customer of ADT primarily because I'm unsure how to cancel their services. Currently, my ADT system isn't functioning. After a hurricane, I lost power, and I'm not sure how to reconnect it, and one of my cameras was blown off. I haven't contacted their support due to my busy schedule and not having their contact number handy. I initially chose ADT Home Security because the system was already installed when I purchased my house. Two years ago, when I had my system serviced and the keypad changed, I signed a contract at a certain price. Despite this, the price increased due to additional taxes, which I had not anticipated. As a loyal customer of ADT Home Security, I've always appreciated the reliable monitoring and the quick response whenever I've accidentally set off the alarm or faced a battery issue. ADT took over the company I was initially with, and I've remained with them ever since. The process to get in touch with a representative is generally straightforward, though the quality of customer service can vary. Sometimes I've gotten some that aren't very friendly or responsive. I started with ADT around May. Initially, I was with Duke Energy, and they referred me to ADT, which influenced my decision to go with them. However, my experience has been mixed. While my interaction with the sales representative was alright, I found the billing process quite confusing. I was repeatedly billed different amounts without a clear explanation—a detail the salesperson failed to mention. This led to frustration as I tried to understand the charges.

I chose ADT for my home security system because my aunt and uncle have been satisfied customers for over 10 years, and it seemed like a reputable company. I've been a customer of ADT Home Security for the last 4 or 5 years. Over this time, I haven't had any significant issues with their customer service. However, I do disagree with their $160 charge for sending someone out to inspect or repair the equipment. I find this fee quite high, especially given the monthly payments we already make for their services. As a senior citizen, it becomes challenging to afford such fees for inspecting their materials.
In terms of service delivery, their package meets my expectations as I've not encountered major problems. However, I wouldn't rate them as excellent mainly due to their high service fee for inspections. If I were to rate ADT, I'd give them a 3 out of 5 overall.

I had a terrible experience with ADT Home Security. When we were remodeling, I called ADT due to some problems, but they never sent anyone to look at it. Although it was easy to reach someone on the phone, they wouldn't send anyone out to resolve the issue. They said I didn't know the password.
Despite having canceled the service two months ago, they continue to charge us, and we still haven't received a refund. We want them to stop charging us, but the issue persists.
Overall, I'm very disappointed with ADT's ineffective response to my concerns.

I have been an ADT customer for about 17 years, having their system installed when I built my house. Over the years, I've had excellent service with no significant issues. I had to update the system when I switched to the internet, and ADT was very efficient about it. The system has consistently performed as promised. So I'm happy.
The only hiccup has been a few false alarms, mostly due to my own actions. Each time, ADT contacted us promptly, and we easily resolved the situation. Their customer service team has always been pleasant.
If a friend asked about my experience with ADT, I'd say that they are cost-effective and efficient, with a system that delivers on its promises. I am very satisfied with the equipment updates as well. While I manage the system from home using the keypad by my back door, I believe there might be other options available.

I've been a customer of ADT Home Security for around 14 years, across two different states. Initially, I switched to ADT because the previous security provider I used failed to trigger an alarm during a test, which was unacceptable.
The features of the service package have met my expectations so far. I had an issue with the fire alarm; the smoke detector went off, but the initial problem was only battery-related. ADT sent me a battery, although it might have been more economical to purchase one from a store like Home Depot. Once I figured out the battery size, things got easier, and I've managed to sort out the motion sensor as well. They're sending me a package of sticky pads so I can put the sensor back up on the wall.
I've generally had positive experiences with ADT. The sales representatives and installation team were satisfactory. However, my experience with ADT's after-hours customer service could be improved. I've received conflicting information from the after-hours support, although I did have a very positive experience with a support representative during business hours who was extremely helpful. Overall, my experience has been mixed due to these varied interactions.

I've had mixed experiences with ADT Home Security. While I remain a customer largely due to the hassle of switching providers, I'm not particularly happy with their services. A couple of years ago, they replaced my system, but the new setup doesn't support all my sensors as the previous one did. This has been a disappointment as it does not meet my expectations.
Although it's not difficult to get a hold of ADT representatives when I have issues, the resolution process is often unsatisfactory. Another concern is the cost of replacing system components. For instance, the battery in my system isn't charging properly despite always being on a charger. ADT wants to charge $40 for a battery that costs $10 elsewhere, which I find unreasonable, especially since I pay them monthly for service.

I have been with ADT Home Security for about three years, and my experience has been frustrating enough that I'm planning to leave as soon as my contract expires. Initially, I was told that if my batteries needed changing, ADT would send someone out to replace them. This turned out to be false; I found out that they don't provide such a service. At my age, the promise of help with battery replacement was appealing, but unfortunately, it was misleading. To make matters worse, the specific batteries required for their carbon monoxide alarms aren't available in stores, which means I have to order them directly through ADT. This process has been inconvenient, and I've been concerned about the battery dying without any warning.
On top of that, ADT's yearly price increases have been excessive, making the service overpriced. I've also heard from others who share my dissatisfaction with ADT. I don't even use the security system anymore due to my concerns.
To cancel my contract early, I would have had to pay the full amount for the remaining term of the contract, which was another deterrent. Overall, my experience with their customer service and security features has been very poor.

I've been an ADT Home Security customer for almost four years now, and overall, my experience has been positive. The pricing is very competitive, and I generally receive excellent service. However, I've encountered some issues with my doorbell camera, which tends to go out when I'm at work. I do the troubleshooting and although it eventually resolves the issue, it does take some time. Aside from that, everything's wonderful.

I heard about ADT through advertisements and some online research. My overall experience with them was quite neutral. The customer service was just okay. Regarding installation, it was done by an associate, not directly by ADT. It went smoothly but was not extraordinary.
If asked by a friend, I would recommend ADT but advise them to ensure everything is in order. My main concern is about the monitoring system's responsiveness. During a recent alarm incident, it took too long for someone to contact us. I expected a quicker response, like a minute or two, but it was considerably delayed. This makes me uncertain about the system’s reliability and whether someone is actively monitoring it.

My experience with ADT Home Security started positively but hit a few bumps along the way. Initially, the sales representative was helpful, which made me confident in choosing their service. However, the installation process was frustrating. I was promised that the installation would occur at 8:00 AM, and I rearranged my schedule to accommodate this. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a call until between 12:30 and 1:00 PM, informing me that the installers were still about 50 miles away. This delay was disappointing and disheartening, and I never received any compensation for the inconvenience.
Despite this, the performance of the security system has been satisfactory overall. We switched to ADT because our previous provider failed to notify us of an upgrade, leaving our alarm system useless for its intended purpose. ADT's system has been reliable, which is a relief. However, the design of some components bothers me. The bulky white boxes attached to the doors are unsightly and could be more aesthetically pleasing.
In terms of customer service, ADT was prompt and apologetic once they arrived for installation, and I appreciated the professionalism of the local salesperson and technicians. Yet, the first impression during this initial interaction remains in my mind. I have been less than impressed with ADT Home Security. I decided to go with them because it's what I knew from my family, as my grandparents had it when I was growing up. I've been a customer with ADT Home Security for about 15 years now. What has kept me loyal is the consistent quality of their service; they are very accurate and their customer service representatives are efficient and quick to respond. I've never needed a technician to come out for issues after the initial setup, which included the installation of cameras and some service demonstrations. The service features typically meet my expectations about 90% of the time.
However, I feel that there could be improvements in the variety of packages they offer. For instance, I installed cameras for both myself and my father. He received a two-way communication feature with his cameras, which I did not, despite us both using ADT. This inconsistency is something I'd like to see improved.
In terms of ratings, I would give ADT a 4 out of 5 overall. The customer service gets a full 5 from me, as do the security features of my package. We’re doing good with the service. Except that the price went up and we didn't receive any notice that it did, unless we missed it. I do feel it’s on the high side.

The customer service has been largely uneventful, as I've rarely had any problems until recently when I had an issue replacing a broken ADT security sign. I unexpectedly found out that I had to buy a new sign. But I couldn't get one because the guy told me whoever answered the phone that day said that he couldn't transfer the call to that department because they had some systems down, which made me a little nervous. This was concerning for a company that should ensure security, and I felt the representative was quite dismissive.
As for the pricing, it seems to fluctuate without clear reasons, and I haven't been able to clarify this with customer support. Considering I've never used another service, it's difficult to gauge if what I'm paying is reasonable. Despite these issues, the system has lived up to its reputation in terms of security, but the customer service has definitely fallen short of expectations.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been very positive. All the equipment has worked well without any issues. My only concern has been with their billing process. I've requested to receive bills through the postal service rather than the Internet because we're more accustomed to handling bills this way. Although they have accommodated this, the postal service bill arrives much later than the one sent via the Internet. As a result, it seems like my payments are always close to being late. Despite this, the overall service and equipment have been satisfactory.
We initially switched to ADT because we had some minor problems with the terminal on the wall and our previous company was located in Texas, and I couldn't get anybody to provide repair service on that. ADT having an office nearby in Iowa City was a deciding factor for us, and they have been reliable in providing prompt service.
The encounter with ADT's sales representatives and the installer was also very positive. The sales representative, who I believe was from the Quad Cities, explained everything clearly, and the installer efficiently replaced the old system with the new one.
While using ADT, albeit I don't recall a specific instance involving the alarm going off unexpectedly, I can confidently rate my experience overall as a 5 out of 5, indicating high satisfaction with the service.

As for installation and technical service, I only had interaction during the initial setup. They did a decent job, and I was happy with it. The service features of our package meet my expectations. There have been a couple of instances where alarms were triggered, often due to our own mistakes, but ADT always calls us immediately to check in.

My experience with ADT has been quite challenging. Initially, everything was great until I moved. After moving, I've had constant issues. I have called numerous times; they may resolve one issue but overlook another. Currently, I'm locked out of my account as it says my password is invalid, despite having used the same one for the last year. When I request a password change, the reset process doesn't direct it to my email. I've worked in tech support at FedEx for six years, so I'm fairly tech-savvy. Such simple tasks like resetting a password shouldn't be this difficult.
It all started when I moved last June. I notified ADT to switch services to my new home. However, a month later, I was charged for both locations. Despite having ADT set up the system at my new place, they continued billing my old address. The remote app even showed the new occupants in my previous home. It should not be that hard to turn off the system at one place and turn it on at another place. That should be a common occurrence. After that, I still couldn't remote into my own system. I was still remoting into the one at my old address. It took me about 8 phone calls and escalations to get that switched off. It was terrible.
Additionally, I had new windows installed, and the sensors weren't properly set, leading to further issues. I paid for a service call to fix it, but one window's sensor still doesn’t work due to poor tape adhesion. This requires me to bypass that window every time we set the alarm. I'm paying for coverage on 16 windows and one doesn't work because the tape keeps coming off. I'm just gonna buy some serious tape and tape it up there and not worry about that two-sided tape so that at least that window will have coverage when we leave.
While the alarm service calls have been reliable, relocating and customer service interactions have been problematic. The system service itself is satisfactory, but ADT's customer service is lacking. Once I finish paying for the equipment, I'm considering switching services.
Overall, I'd rate my experience with ADT a 3 out of 5, combining both equipment and customer service aspects. The price seems comparable to other services, which I'd rate a 4.

I've had ADT for a few months in my current location and about four years at my regular house. My initial experience with the installation was positive; the technician efficiently set everything up, including the alarms on my front and back doors. The salesperson was very nice and helpful, which left a good first impression.
However, I'm currently experiencing issues with the system. My front door keeps showing as open when it's actually closed. This causes problems when I try to set the alarm using my phone as it insists the door is open. I haven't had a chance to address this with ADT yet because I've been recovering from surgery and have been busy. Despite these issues, I have generally found ADT's customer service to be satisfactory and would rate it highly. But right now, I'm just very dissatisfied.

I have been using ADT for years, and I'm genuinely impressed with their service. Having ADT signs in the yard seems to deter potential break-ins, which is quite reassuring. I have been an ADT customer for three years now. I've never had any issues with their service itself, which is a big reason why I've stuck with them. However, getting through to a customer service rep can sometimes be difficult and time-consuming, which has been frustrating for me.

I had a frustrating experience with ADT Home Security. Initially, I had cameras installed when I moved into my new home and was pleased enough to order more cameras later. However, that's when the trouble began. I was supposed to have a floodlight camera installed near my garage, but despite my efforts to schedule it, I was repeatedly told they were short-staffed and needed to reschedule. This happened three times, and the floodlight has been sitting in my dining room since June, with no installation in sight.
I even stopped payment due to this unfulfilled service, which led to annoying calls from ADT about the billing. I lost wages because I took time off work for appointments they canceled at the last minute. I liked the gentleman who came. They answered all my questions and the last guy I talked to was cool about a lot of stuff. The customer service, unfortunately, was disappointing given the circumstances, despite being initially helpful. Overall, dealing with ADT for installation has been extremely frustrating.

We've been with ADT for about four years, primarily because our options in Alaska are limited. Unfortunately, our interactions with them have been less than satisfactory. We've had significant issues with their billing process, including unexpected and hidden fees. For instance, during our relocation, we were charged for equipment that should have been free, and frequently, the billing statements were inaccurate, often overcharging or adding unexpected fees.
We had to repurchase everything new and do a new contract or pay everything outright. On a positive note, the installation process, both initially and during the relocation, went smoothly, and the technicians were excellent. The actual security system and its functionalities, like using the app to monitor and control the system, have worked well and without any hitches. Their technical support has been reliable and helpful in resolving equipment issues.
However, if someone were to ask me about my experience, I would certainly warn them about the billing challenges we've faced. Their customer service for technical issues is commendable, but the billing side needs substantial improvement.

I saw signs in my mail from ADT and they had what I needed. The installation team was great. The lady knew what she was doing and the person I talked with the very first time talked about the product and knew what to talk about. I was pleased with all of it. The system is working well. My alarm goes off when it needs to. An alarm went off when someone activated it and did not realize that I had it on. I heard it and we got it turned off. I like ADT and I'm satisfied with what I got.

I initially became associated with ADT because of a merger involving a company I was originally with, ProSource One. Hence, I now have two accounts: one with ProSource One and another that has always been with ADT.
In terms of services, ADT's performance has been pretty solid. I have a maintenance plan for the equipment, which means occasional necessary updates, like changing the boxes, are covered, and this setup works fine for me.
Regarding customer service, I've noticed a change over time. Previously, connecting with a representative was quick, but it now takes a bit longer. However, they have a convenient system in place if your alarm is triggered and you need immediate assistance. If you select the option for the alarm going off, it gives it priority, whereas selecting customer service takes a bit longer to connect.
When it comes to quality and cost, I believe ADT is on par with other service providers in the industry. Overall, I'm satisfied with their service.

I signed up with ADT for a 3-year contract, but they unilaterally changed it to a 7-year contract without my consent. I discovered this when I contacted them earlier this year when I called them about something else, then I asked, “When is my contract up?” The rep informed me it ends in 2027 and I said “What? I have a 3-year contract." She said I have a 7-year contract and that I agreed with it, then I said, “Okay. Send me a copy of that contract.” None of it is my writing. Somebody else's handwriting did all the action, and they said that they gave me a copy of the contract. I have nothing from ADT, not in my phone or on my person. When I raised this with ADT, they promised to send something for me to file a complaint, but I never received any follow-up. They also told me if I cancel, I would have to pay a couple hundred dollars. So my intention is when the seven years is up, I will no longer use ADT.
The security system works when I turn it on, but I've had issues with the functionality linked to my phone. It stopped working, and when I contacted ADT for a fix, they quoted me a $58 fee for a service call, which I find unfair given the contract. They're supposed to keep their promise and fix things when things are not right, but they don't do that. While it's easy to contact their customer service, they don't resolve issues.
Overall, I'd rate ADT a 3 for my experience, a 2 for their customer service, and a 3 for pricing.

I decided to get an ADT Home Security system after someone attempted to break into my home. I've had it installed for a little over two months now. Initially, I was receiving notices on my phone, which was quite helpful, but I am no longer receiving them, and I'm not sure why. Previously, the system would announce when the front door or garage was opened, such as "garage open," but it doesn't do that anymore, which is my main complaint.
Overall, I find the service okay, but the cost is a bit steep. When asked by friends or family, I would mention that it's somewhat expensive and I might not recommend it. When I first called about it, I was informed that the monthly fee would be $50, but the total cost has been higher than expected. My son has agreed to help with the payment, which is the main reason I’ve kept the service.
The pricing deserves a 1 out of 5, but in terms of my experience, I would rate them a 3 out of 5, as does the functionality of the app in its current state, although I haven’t fully explored if there might be a setting issue on my part.

Their service features meet our expectations, and I haven't experienced any significant problems. My main concern is with the batteries for the alarms. They are supposed to last several years, but I've had some that needed replacement within a year, which is kind of irritating, especially if I'm away from home and they said the alarm was gonna beep until I get back.
Overall, I would recommend ADT and give them a 5-star rating. The security features in our package are satisfactory. In terms of pricing, like anyone, I'd prefer it to be lower, so I'd rate it a 3 out of 5.

However, I've had my system for about a year, and I am not satisfied with the quality and features. The security camera doesn't stay charged long enough, and it has been disconnected for almost five months. Despite contacting ADT, they haven't provided a solution. Their team only advised getting a new system, which I would have to pay for. The cost and quality of the services have not been satisfactory. My interactions with their sales representatives have been positive. For example, they tried to assist me in obtaining a fall monitor, though it wasn’t financially possible for me at the time.
The installation team was good and made sure to provide explanations and demonstrations of the system. The service features of my package generally meet my expectations. The only issue I've encountered is with a battery that was dead while others were fine, which I plan to address soon.
Overall, I would recommend ADT. The customer service, security features, and the price for the service have been satisfactory for me.

I initially chose ADT because I recognized the name and trusted it for providing good service in my area. The installation crew has always been great. Anytime we needed a sensor change or upgrade, they met our needs promptly, and we've never had any issues with them.
As for the service itself, our alarm has rarely gone off—only once, way back, when there was a sensor problem. ADT promptly handled it with a call, and I haven't encountered any problems since. Overall, I'm very satisfied with ADT's service.

I have been hearing about ADT for several years and I recently moved to a new location. The installation process at my new place was informative and fast, and they walked me through everything once it was completed. I occasionally use the app on my phone to monitor the system and set alarms, which is a convenient feature.

The installation was straightforward. However, I've had persistent problems with the doorbell and Wi-Fi connectivity, leading to frustrations, especially since I'm paying for these services. I have been using ADT and they have been great. I've always stayed with ADT because their pricing is very reasonable and their service is excellent. The installation team was very professional and friendly when they came to set it up, and they even helped me change the batteries once, which they did efficiently while showing me how to do it myself next time.

I first heard about ADT through a friend's recommendation, which influenced my decision to choose their services. Unfortunately, my experience with ADT hasn't been positive. While the sales rep was quite good, the service itself has fallen short of expectations. We hardly use it because it doesn't function well most of the time, about 95% of it.
We've contacted ADT numerous times seeking assistance, and though they only came out once, the issues persist. It appears to stem from the way the system was connected to our doors and windows. We keep receiving error messages indicating something needs fixing, but when we check, nothing seems out of place.
The system often tells us there's an issue, even when there seems to be nothing wrong. Additionally, when we replace the battery, it continues to flash warnings about low battery, even after being tested as fine. It's been a frustrating experience, and the lack of effective support has left us dissatisfied. My wife and I would rate the entire ADT service a 1 out of 5 due to these problems.

I’ve been with ADT since 2007 when we moved into our townhouse, and I’ve always had a positive experience with them. There have never been any issues when I needed assistance. For instance, there was a time when our new alarm system was installed, and I had trouble figuring out how to replace the battery. I called ADT, and they sent someone out without any charge. It turned out that all I had to do was push some wires in the right way, which I didn't know.
I find their system fantastic. I can control the alarm via my phone, and my wife does the same. We have zero complaints. As for customer service, they've always been great and have consistently provided excellent support. I would definitely recommend ADT to anyone considering getting a security system, even with the competition out there.
Regarding the price, I rate it neutral because I'm not exactly sure how it compares with others, but the ability to monitor and control the system from a phone or online is fantastic. When we upgraded to a new system, which is touchpad enabled and allows mobile control, we were very satisfied despite the cost. Overall, ADT has been a reliable and efficient choice for us.

I first heard about ADT on TV and from seeing signs in some people's yards. With some shady characters in my neighborhood, I decided to try their service. I've been with ADT for nearly a year now, and to be honest, I haven't felt secure about their product. I've had my phone number changed a couple of times because of hacking. Nobody ever called me. The initial representative assured me he'd been with the company for 10 years, which gave me confidence, but later, when I tried to reach out, he'd already left the company. This lack of continuity has made me regret ever choosing ADT.
The installation itself was quick, about an hour and a half, despite my lack of internet which required additional steps. However, I have never actually used the alarm system since it was installed. I don't feel confident using it, especially since they didn’t even have my updated phone number for eight months. I was the one who had to reach out to update my details. This negligence just made me feel that ADT doesn't care about my security.
Their customer service hasn’t been helpful either. I was frequently transferred between the wrong departments when I called for assistance, which only added to my frustration. The system they installed included some magnetic boxes on my doors, but no one took the time to ensure I fully understood the system or felt comfortable using it. The representative who came out here should have taken more time with me to make sure I fully understood the system and do a mock trial on it. But he didn't. So when he left here, I was just clueless. I’ve been paying for a service that I haven’t used for almost a year.
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend ADT. I'm dissatisfied with their service and am just waiting for my contract to expire so I can move on to a different company.

I first learned about ADT when a salesperson came to my house. They were very informative and helped me make my decision. When it came time for installation, the team did a good job. However, I've had some issues with the adhesive that holds the sensors on the window frames. They tend to fall off over time, which has set off the alarm while I’m away on vacation, leading to the police visiting my home. I've had this issue a few times and have managed to reset them on my own. ADT did provide extra stickers to help with this problem.
Despite the sensor issue, I would still rate my overall experience with ADT a 5. Their customer service, security features, and sales process have all been excellent. I primarily use their app and find it very efficient, rating it a 5 as well. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service I've received from ADT.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been disappointing. We have been customers for over five years, primarily due to a binding contract. While our initial experience with ADT was positive, with impressive customer service and satisfactory system performance, issues arose when we had to move. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to relocate, and cancelling our ADT service meant incurring a hefty fee of almost $500.
Post-move, the customer service drastically changed. Despite attempts to resolve billing issues — particularly a wrongly applied relocation charge that was supposed to be waived — we continue to face daily calls demanding payment. The calls have been persistent and rude, even on holidays like Christmas. Despite these challenges, our regional sales representative, Ron, has been exceptional, providing much-needed support. However, the broader corporate interactions have been distressing and unprofessional, especially in their dealings with my wife and me.
While the system itself operates adequately, the response time during alerts is concerning. When our alarm has sounded, it takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes for us to receive a follow-up call, which is insufficient in emergencies. While the technical aspects of ADT are satisfactory, the company's customer service severely impacts our trust and satisfaction with the service.

I've been using ADT Home Security for a couple of years, mostly because the entire house is set up with their system, and I haven't made the time to switch to another company. However, I'm not pleased with the service. I no longer set the alarm because the front door camera from ADT never worked. They even installed a power booster in my house that didn't work. Despite all the attempts to fix the issues, nothing seems to help. I end up paying for a service I don't use.
The problems began within a week of installation and have been continuous. We've had technicians come out to check the system, but nothing gets resolved. The whole process is time-consuming, and as I travel a lot, I don't have time to repeatedly schedule service calls that result in no lasting fixes. It's been a waste of time and money. I haven't canceled the service yet, but that's likely my next step.
As for the customer service, I'd rate it a 2 out of 5. The security features in the package I purchased deserve a rating of 1. The online tools and website used to function well, and I'd rate them a 4. Overall, I rate ADT Home Security a 1 out of 5.

DO NOT USE ADT!! They are crooked and complete scammers. Their technician FRAUDULANTLY signed my name to their ridiculous contract that supposedly states they can charge $2,500 for cancelation fee. I haven't even had their service for a month yet, and the entire time, I have not had a working doorbell. They have given me a complete runaround from the very beginning - trying to state that I have to change my internet provider for their cameras. I tried then to cancel the install at that moment, and instead, the sales lady said my internet might work and insisted on sending out the tech to make the determination. That tech came out and said that he could use a different set of cameras that would work but didn't have them on his truck. He agreed to come out on Saturday to do the install. When he arrived, he couldn't finish the install and said he would be back on Monday. He never did.
It was about a week later that I called to inquire about the remaining install. They then sent a different tech out to my house to finish the install. The doorbell stopped working THAT day. I called back, and they kept giving me 5 hour blocks to be available for another tech to come out. I explained that I can't keep taking time off work to wait around for them. They finally agreed to give me a 1 hour time block on the 24th; however no one showed up. When I called in, they said the appointment was cancelled; however, I NEVER CANCELLED ANYTHING. They also never told me it was cancelled. I got another appointment set up, and that tech argued with me about how they system is the best and the power at my house is not strong enough. He also informed me I would be charged $59 per visit from a tech.
At that point I have decided to cancel. No company is worth this headache. That is when I was informed that if I'm locked into some contract, and they would charge me $2500 for cancelling. When I looked up that "Contract," I see that it is not even my signature (see attached screenshot - it's not even my name). I never signed anything, and their tech clearly did. I explained that to the sales rep, and he said it didn't matter. I asked about their 6-month money back guarantee, and they said I didn't qualify due to my low power supply. This is the worst company to do business with, and I wouldn't recommend them to my enemy. If you are considering them, my advice would be to make sure you secure a lawyer on retainer first. I’ve been an ADT customer since March 2021, and my recent experience trying to cancel my service has solidified my decision to never deal with them again. After calling to cancel my service on a property that will close escrow on December 27, it took a staggering 46 minutes and being transferred 4 times to different representatives.
I had to authenticate myself multiple times with verbal passwords and account information, only to be passed around from account management to billing, then to a relocation specialist (which I didn’t even need, as I clearly explained that the property was being sold). The entire process felt like no one listened to my request, and it’s nearly impossible to handle this kind of simple task without endless delays and frustration. To make matters worse, you can't cancel online, so you're forced into this frustrating, time-wasting cycle. If there were zero stars, I would give it to this poorly run company. Save yourself the headache and avoid ADT at all costs.

I chose ADT Home Security because they are a nationally recognized provider. My experience with the sales rep was positive; however, the installation process felt rushed. The installer seemed to be on a tight schedule, which left me unfamiliar with the system's operation after he left. I had to learn about the features on my own by reading and researching. I had to follow up on everything and I was confused. It would be helpful if the installation team provided more guidance and a thorough demonstration before leaving.

My experience with ADT was not the greatest. There offer was $53 a month. But when ADT came and put up the alarm system, I now owed $1,800 because they talked me into things and didn't tell me how much it would be. Before I knew it, I owed $1,800. I made one payment and I slept on it for the weekend. I decided that I no longer wanted all the windows to have whatever kind of alarm system on there. What they offered was three doors, and I went with that. The salesperson probably works on commission and talked me into other things. Before it all ended, it was $1,800. I decided to take the windows off. I kept two windows because people could step in to my house through these windows. I added a fire system in the house and in the garage, and I kept those.
ADT had someone signed up. It was supposed to be the same person who came up and uninstalled the window shock system. They cancelled, and told me it would be months before they could reschedule. I had to send the shock boxes back. I kept the batteries, because I couldn't send batteries through the mail. They had me take the shock system off, telling me they were easy to do. I must have talked to a half a dozen people before I found someone that knew what to do so I could take these alarm systems off my window without having the state police show up at my house because the alarms would go off. Other than that, I like the system. It's very easy for me to use.

I've been a customer with ADT from 2003 to 2012, and then from October to now. It was at a different place. This home, when we moved into it in 2020, already had the ADT service in it. I reactivated it, and it cost me $1,400 to do that because they had to come out and redo the system, which didn't need redoing, but that's how it goes. ADT's customer service person came out and sold it to me and said he could use everything. I knew it operated because part of the system, even though it wasn't activated for their service, worked. When you open doors and windows, it would set off a little beep to let you know something was open. So, everything was thick, hooked up, and working fine. The guy said that he had to have access to my checking account, withdraw half the fee, which I didn't like. I don't like people withdrawing money from my account. He said that'd be the last time.
Before it was really activated, they withdrew a monthly payment. Then they said they didn't get it, and so they must have hounded me five times for the second payment of the half that I owed him. I said, “I told you guys you gotta send me an invoice. I'll send you a check when I get the invoice.” They didn't wanna do that. They just wanted to withdraw money from my account and then let me find out about it. We finally got that straightened out and now I pay them through Bill Pay through my bank account. They're not supposed to do a direct debit, although they did that, and they did it twice. I talked to the bank about it, and they said that they would not allow that company to do that anymore.
Part of the problem was because they didn't have an invoice. I sent payments through Bill Pay to ADT. However, that's not the company that wanted the bill payments. It's an ADT subsidiary. So even though I had the right post office box and the right address, I didn't have the ADT service on my Bill Pay. So, they would not receive the amount of money from the bank, even though the bank showed it being paid. The bank ended up having to refund me the money and we had to go back through that. They're not very good about this stuff. They just wanna get into your account to pull money out of it.
The guy that came out and did this installation said, “Oh, I need a such and such for it to work.” So the cost went up from the monthly billing from $52 up to $61 and something, because he added a device to my system. And they took out the old panel that worked fine, and put in a new panel. I don't even activate the thing. I just want it in case I do wanna activate it someday. But if I look back on it, I would never have done it because I don't really use it that much, and I will probably not use it. They put in a new panel and nobody told me how to use it. So, I don't know how to use it if I wanted to use it. I feel like I got a two-year guaranteed contract that I'm gonna end up paying for and probably never use it because I'm not satisfied with anything they've done to date.

I've been with ADT for three years now and I'm satisfied enough with the package I got. We didn't go the route that they recommended, though. It's hooked up to the old wires and nothing got updated because they said they don't do that anymore. Magnets have fallen off and they've replaced those for us. But we've had a few false alarms and it's usually a computerized service letting us know that our alarm went off, which we don't like. It used to be a human.

We experienced a hurricane and I lost power. When my power got restored, my system did not come back on at all. I had four or five appointments trying to figure out what the problem was and I had an electrician to look at it to say that they didn't see any signs of power surge at all. It was just something linked in the system. I live in a secluded area by myself and I needed the security. I ended up having to get a new system and ADT would not cover anything at all and although I've been a customer for four or five years, there was no incentive or anything to help defray the cost of buying a new system that I really didn't want.
That was late September and it took until November to get my issue rectified. I went through technicians and it ended up costing me 800 bucks to get a new control panel. Also, all my other equipment was fine but I was unable to use my motion sensors because they were kind of locked into the system. I decided not to go with motion sensors because that would have been an additional cost to get two of them. The customer service agents were pleasant and nice when I did call in but it was frustrating. I would not have continued it and if I could have switched switch service, I would have. But because of the way the control panel wasn't working, the other competitive security companies could not take over my system. l was locked up and I wasn't able to switch to a competitive system. That was the only reason why I didn't switch.

What a scam this company is. We have to move from our house in Arizona to Alabama for work. We call to cancel service with ADT and they try everything to keep us on even though we tell them we are moving and don't need the service. So a week later they take $2177 out of our banking account without warning or authorization. 2 days before Christmas. Then say when we call, that it's for equipment and labor. They could have asked for equipment back. I sure didn't take it or want it. What a snake of a company. I hope they don't do this on the regular. Talk about ruining a Christmas season to wake up to theft from a big company. I am so disappointed in this company.

I saw the senior discount advertised in my AARP magazine and I knew I needed something, so I called ADT. Everything's been wonderful, and I tell Google how great she is all the time. I couldn't live without Google being here now because I can ask for anything and she answers me. “What's the weather in Erwin, Tennessee today?” I say, "Hey, Google, what channel does that UT Volunteers play on tonight?"
I have a big fancy TP in my backyard and my favorite feature is I can just say, "Hey Google, can I see the TP camera?" She brings it up and then I'll be sitting in the doctor's office and my phone starts ringing. It's a notification from Google that there's a strange face at my TP and I can come home and look. If anybody would attempt to come in and break into my home, they would see my yard signs and that the cameras are up. That really makes people think twice before they come near my home. Everybody that drives by sees our signs, and if they ever ask, I sure would let them know how great ADT has been. I've also had trouble getting my bill payment time straightened out and the reps have been wonderful.

I like ADT. I had them for a long time. It was a good company. They believe in working with you. If you got problems, especially about the bill, they try to work with you. I like that. I've been an ADT customer for over 24 years, starting when I first looked to secure my home. It's been a reliable experience, and their service gives me peace of mind. Over the years, I've had to replace batteries in sensors and the main backup, but overall, there have been no major issues.
Initially, the rising monthly costs were a concern, especially before retirement. The fees kept increasing until around 3-4 years ago, when, upon my complaint, they capped my payments. Now, as a senior on a fixed income, financial predictability is crucial. My only warning to others would be to watch out for the increasing costs over the years, although ADT has been accommodating recently.
Regarding the equipment, I've mostly had a positive experience. In my current home and previously, I opted for more sensors and detectors than typical, spending over $1000 to get the setup I wanted. The quality and efficiency of their equipment have been excellent, with sensors lasting years before needing battery replacements.
However, ADT's customer service has somewhat declined over the years. One day, the alarm in the garage door went off. According to the code I received, that's where the breach occurred. I left work and went home because I didn't know what was going on. I found out the system wasn't working as it should have. It should have sent a low battery signal to the control panel but it didn't do that. It went right to being breached. I called the police and at that time, ADT came out and replaced the battery on that particular garage door. But now, they don't do that. A year ago, I had to replace the battery backup. It’s a weird-looking battery and you can only purchase it from certain places or from ADT, which I did. They shipped to me but I had to install it myself.
I'm still happy with ADT. It makes me sleep better at night. You'll never read about anybody coming into my home and me waking up with somebody standing over my bed because I'll get forewarned long before that. ADT always follows up when my alarm goes off accidentally. But while I appreciate their reliability, this lack of personal service is a downside.
Finally, I wish ADT would provide a new manual or booklet for the control panel, as keeping track of all functions is challenging without it. Despite these issues, I would still recommend ADT due to their reliability, but would advise others to keep a close eye on costs and prepare to handle some support tasks themselves.

I first heard about ADT Home Security through a friend who used their service. I chose ADT because they were able to schedule an appointment quickly, which was important to me.
My interactions with their sales representatives have been unremarkable, but the installation process went smoothly. The service package features generally meet my expectations. I often accidentally set off the alarm by not disarming it before opening certain doors. ADT's response is always prompt, either via text or phone call, and once when the police were involved, everything was timely managed.
However, I find their service to be way too expensive. They raised my rates without notice, which was frustrating. Although I love the service, the cost is a major downside, and I would consider changing providers if it were possible, but I'm still paying for the equipment. I wouldn't do that again due to the high cost.

I didn't have any trouble when I called ADT. I was okay with the system in the beginning, but I had some issues with one of my cameras. The installer had to do some wiring in my attic and he connected it to a light switch in my hallway and I did not know that. It was the camera that overlooks my garage, and it was out for two weeks because the light switch is for the light in my attic and I only turn it on when I go into my attic. The battery died in that camera. So, I didn't have camera over my garage for over two weeks because it took that long to get a technician out here. So, I was not happy about that.
I'm not as happy as I thought I would be with the other features. When I get a notification that something has been seen in one of my cameras, I always check it to make sure. With the camera that's over my back door, when I watch the video, it says, "This video is not available at this time." I need to be able to go in and look at that camera right then. So, I've considered calling ADT and canceling my service but I realized it could be an internet issue, which I have internet with Xfinity and I've got the highest speed you can get. I'm a little upset because I can't go in right there. It's not in real-time.
Also, I've had several issues with my doorbell camera not working, and the doorbell not working. I was told, "Well, it's just your internet. It's just your internet. I was like, "Oh, my God." Customer service is good. When I call, they're always very professional. They usually can help me resolve the issue, or if the issue can't be resolved, then they have to send out a technician. They're usually timely about getting a technician out here. They did have to reschedule a technician regarding my cameras, but they provided me a free month of monitoring service, which I thought was nice of them. But if I had to choose another security system and another monitoring company, I would not go with ADT. I would go with someone else.

My family and I decided to install security services in our home and chose ADT, as we had previously used their services and expected a smooth transition. We already had a complete system from ADT, based on our prior experience. However, when a technician arrived on December 18, 2024, he informed us that ADT had discontinued the devices we had and now offered a new system—Google Nest—integrated with ADT’s monitoring service. He also recommended replacing our functional door lock with a new one, stating that it would work better with the updated system. Trusting his advice, I agreed and paid $1,300 for the new equipment. All these were lies letter confirmed to me by one of their supervisor and a follow tech who tech me that the tech who has previously came our residence has a track record of misleading customers.
Unfortunately, shortly after the technician left, the Google Nest system and the new door lock stopped working. I reached out to ADT multiple times, only to be transferred from department to department with no resolution. Eventually, I spoke to the some representative who agreed to send a technician. When another technician came to our home, he informed me that, in order to make the Google Nest app and door lock functional, I would need to pay additional fees beyond the original amount I had already agreed to.
Frustrated, I requested that ADT retrieve the equipment, but they refused unless I paid even more. The technician also admitted that the initial technician who had visited our home had a history of misleading customers. This experience has been extremely disappointing, and I feel misled and taken advantage of throughout the process.

ADT is there when I need them. My experience over the years has been great. We moved and they made the transition fabulous. Everything was on schedule and everything's doing great. The house I moved in had some equipment, so they just came in and replaced what they needed to. They left that equipment in the house for the next person if they would want it. It all worked out great. I recently had them put the system by wireless and that was great, too.

The customer service, especially the person that installed my original system, was very competent, courteous, and thorough. I had the service installed in my home and I had some major renovation and an addition put on my home, which caused me to leave the house and stay someplace else. I rented an apartment until my home was completed and this is where I started having some issues with ADT.
I wanted to have my service that was at my original home moved to my apartment. ADT sent me equipment that was self-install and it was very difficult to actually install. I ended up never using the equipment in the apartment. When I went back to my home, that equipment couldn't be used and the equipment that was in the house originally could not be used. A whole new system had to go in.
I have since been paying for the equipment that was sent to me for the apartment that was never used, never out of the box. I have not been able to return that equipment nor have I had a refund for it. I'm really bothered by the fact that I have equipment that is brand-new that I've essentially been told to just throw away. I cannot believe that this stuff cannot be reused or resold. I'm very displeased with that corporate way in which they handle stuff. I have some ill feelings about how that has played out, but I still have ADT. I've moved back to my home that has been renovated and I am using it there. I'm very pleased with what is in that home, but I'm not pleased with the interaction that I had in-between.

We've had ADT for over 30 years and one day, I was on the phone with the reps for six hours going back on stuff that they promised. It was horrible. But it was resolved. The system has great features. It keeps my family safe.

My first experience with ADT was okay but later on, it was awful. As someone who is experienced doing security for a home, they're supposed to come and do an assessment and advice what needs to be done, not rely on the customer because the customer doesn't know how the system and how these things go. But they sell you whatever they wanna sell and I got extra stuff that I didn't need and they refuse to refund me for that.
I ordered an extra sensor without my knowledge and when the installer came, he said that maybe I don't need the extra. I told him to keep it and he said he couldn't and that the order was done so I have to put it somewhere. It didn't make sense to me but we put it on the windows, although the windows are already protected by this motion sensor.
Also, the equipment is very expensive. I have a basic system -- it's only monitoring the doors and windows and the motion sensor when it's activated. But the price is already increasing and I don't know why. I was trying to see if I can add something from my end, like get something third party, but it seems like I don't have access to the board that I paid for and it's been set up for me. I cannot have access to add anything because it should be ADT-specific. If I called or if something happened, ADT would respond right away. Other than that, I don't really like the equipment. Now, the technology is everywhere and it's cheaper. You can set it up by yourself. If I knew they were gonna be that simple, I would go with way cheaper options.

I have a new system with ADT and it's great except when you come in to turn it off, you can't hear it. It's so quiet and that's just the off system. You can be bringing in groceries and forget you've got your alarm is set and it'll go off. Overall, it's very secure. If you gotta keep your house safe, go with ADT. If you're out of town or if somebody tries to break in and you're there, you're safe.

Overall, my experience with ADT has been excellent. We've had some additions to our system, and the technician who handled that was very competent, though his name escapes me. I've also had to reset the system over the phone, and the process was straightforward with clear instructions.
The system is very easy to operate and provides a strong sense of security. I feel perfectly safe knowing it will perform its job effectively if needed. I particularly appreciate the feature that announces which door is being opened, even when the alarm is off; it adds an extra layer of awareness.

I had the old school keypad which was the yellow one that lights up and you gotta manually hit the numbers. I also had an indoor camera, which was the old one and didn’t have audio. It was only a video for my living room area going into the kitchen area. I had a certain corner where I was able to capture the whole front of the house from the entrances. I ended up wanting a doorbell camera and ADT wanted to charge me 100-some-odd dollars. I told them I'm not paying for it. I've been with them for so long and I hear it on the radio how they're giving away anything else free to new customers. And they wouldn't give it to me.
About a day or two later, I had a supervisor call me out of nowhere telling me about my inquiry about a doorbell camera and that they wanted to charge me and I refused. She said she was calling to let me know I’ve been a loyal customer for over 10 years with them and she’s gonna send the guy out. She asked me to give her a good day for me and they’re gonna install it and not charge me anything. Plus, she’s gonna lower my bill by $10. So we went with that. Everything worked.
When I was leaving, they told me not to take anything with me because when I moved to the new house, everything I had was old and none of it was gonna work. I asked about the doorbell because I just bought it from them for $118 a couple of months ago so I could hear the bell ring in the house. She said that was not gonna work either. So, I went with the DIY. ADT sent the package to my new address with everything that I wanted. It was the same thing I had in my existing address, which was a keypad, the window sensors, the door sensors, and the indoor camera with voice, video and everything they sent to me in the box. And they also sent me the doorbell for outside.
My daughter opened up the box when we went to the new house. She was excited about it. I still wasn't living there and some guy called me. He's supposedly their number-one sales guy from Jersey. He asked if he could meet me there on a Saturday and that he just wanna check out what I have because everything's gonna be brand-new. He would like to get this commission. I told him I have Blue and I’m just gonna go with it. He told me it was junk and he wanted to see what ADT gave me. He drove in, met me, opened the box up, went to the box and said the box was garbage.
I have crank-out windows and nobody is gonna crowbar my window open. If anything, they're gonna break the glass to come in because it's a big, long glass and it's a crank-out window because that's how that works. ADT has glass smash sensors, which look like little hockey pucks, and the guy said he’ll put three of them in the house. It'll cover all the windows and I’ll be good. I trusted him and he got me to sign, telling me that he was gonna take the do-it-yourself and return it. He asked me to sign, saying that he took it and that it's returned. I told him I wanted everything that I had at my existing address.
My main reason for going with ADT again at the new address was for the doorbell camera which will capture my outside for packages and my driver. And I wanted the indoor camera, which was cool. The guy turned around and asked if he could come next Saturday to start the installation. I said I didn't have internet yet. I gave him the date that Verizon was coming to switch over my old address to the new address and that I would call him the following weekend. He said I need internet for the indoor camera and the doorbell but he wanted to get the installer out this weekend to do everything else. And to call him when they get there in the morning. Because by the time he gets to me, they already have my internet up and running, and they'll just tighten everything up and finish it. I didn’t wanna do that and said I’d rather they just come and do everything. He said he wanna get this commission. He convinced me and talked me right into it.
The guy had his guy come out and when they did, he had me sign that little iPad that they walk around with and told me to initial everything. There were 19 pages and I asked if I gotta read all of it. He said no and it's just stating that they were here and got the job done. The week that the internet is put in, they’ll be out that same week to finish the job. But he never came. I never got my doorbell camera and for almost one year, ADT was charging me every month. I wasn't paying them and every three months, I repaid them, and then they would credit me for the audio and video.
I got a supervisor on the phone and I explained everything to him and told him that after my keypad was installed, there were over 100 messages of him promising me to come back and finish the job. ADT was telling me that they looked into my contract and I initialed that the job was done, with just the keypad and the smash glass sensors. But that's not what I wanted the system for. I haven't even used it.
On moving-in day, I was supposed to have the doorbell camera and had I had it, I would have been okay. I got arrested moving into the house with a U-Haul truck outside. The upstairs neighbors called the cops and told them that I threw their phone down a flight of stairs, which I didn't. They came out screaming, yelling that they recorded me and that I was going to get arrested. I was fighting with them about their dog for the month that they lived there while I was fixing up the house and the camera was gonna stop that. I moved in and there was a big argument with all of them. They came out and said they were recording me and I was going to jail.
The husband pushed the wife and the phone went down the stairs. I went into my house and 10 minutes later, there were 16 cops at my house and I got arrested. I was in jail for three days and I had a case for five months. If I had the cameras I was supposed to have, I could have shown the cops what went on here. And they would've ended up arresting them.
I can't stand ADT, which is why I owe them money and I have no intention of paying it. I was in Brooklyn, my existing address, and the Ocean Court with them. I had no problems with them and they were good. I moved and I'm in a new house now in Staten Island for two years and I don't even know how to use the keypad. It's a new one and it's digital. The only time that that keypad was ever activated was when the installer came in and showed me how to use it. So the only thing that's being used in my house is that bing, bang, bing, bang every time you open up a door. It drives me crazy.

Most of our friends have gone with the ones that are online. I don't trust that, so we’ve stayed with ADT. When we couldn't get the computer thing to work, ADT would tell me how to figure it out. It has been very nice and they're fine. There are some things I would wish ADT would update. They do for new people. There's a lot of modernization of the program since we've been with it. We've never heard anything about any of that. We don't have probably half of the things they now offer. All we have is the alarm system that we turn on and off at night. They've been satisfactory, and we are too lazy to look around and see what other things are available. We're comfortable.
We don't have a problem with the alarm going off for no reason. If the alarm went off because I opened the back door without turning it off first, we would call immediately about that, but it would take a long time to reach somebody, which makes me worried about if it were for real. They do not respond quickly enough. If they were a burglar breaking into my house, I would have to go through four people before I would get any help. That frighten me. I would appreciate if ADT would upgrade that and accept that. We've had that happen five times. But it was because we triggered the alarm because we let the dog out and forgot that it was on. If it hadn't been just because we triggered it if I let him out, we didn't reach anybody. Nobody reached us for a while.

I've had a very positive experience with ADT. They were recommended by friends who have their system. The salesperson was very attentive and understood what I needed. Didn't oversell me and gave me a great package at a good price. The installation in our two properties went very smoothly. The installers were efficient, knew what they were doing and did what needed to be done. The operation is great. Their app is very easy to activate and deactivate. The coverage is solid for my needs, as well.

I've had ADT for several years and was initially very satisfied with the service. However, about two years ago, we decided to upgrade our system, and this experience has been quite disappointing. During the upgrade, we requested a motion sensor for one of our outbuildings but were told afterward that the upgrade didn't accommodate it, citing weather concerns and the need for another line. This was frustrating as we needed that feature. We also added two cameras as part of the upgrade. One camera works fine, providing alerts for movement, but the other is problematic. It only functions when viewed live and fails to send alerts, which defeats the purpose of having a security system.
Customer service experiences have been mixed. The last time we contacted support about the malfunctioning camera, the representative attempted to help, but after nearly an hour on the call, we got disconnected without resolution, and no follow-up was received. Overall, the upgrade did not meet our expectations. While the basic system functions by alerting us when doors or windows are opened, the added features we wanted are not functioning correctly. I regret the upgrade and feel a simple ring doorbell camera would have been more effective.

The app seem to be an issue. We would have to go in back inside the house and arm it. We could disarm it most of the time, but a lot of times, we couldn't arm it. I have to do a bypass because it kept showing something in the master bedroom, but there was nothing going on. The price could be more competitive, because it has been going up over the years. But I still would recommend ADT to a friend. We like the service. If I called, there would never be a problem with getting things corrected. They would call if there were any issues or if the alarm went off. They respond timely. If there were any concerns, they were addressed over the years.

I like ADT's response time and equipment. They also treat me well. However, I could use a couple more cameras. And my motion detector in the living room, my little dog sets it off. I can't set it for away. I have to set it for stay all the time. When I told them about it, the tech didn't understand what I was talking about. My batteries are starting to go bad as well and I'm in the hospital and I can't change them. I called them and asked them, "Can you guys help me out?" They didn't seem to be interested and they didn't wanna send anybody out.

My experience with ADT has been fantastic. It's a good company. I just don't like the technicians when they have to come out. They use third-party people who won't come to me. I've had to have them come out once and it was due to wiring. As far as upkeep on them, you gotta call instead of them sending someone out every 10 years to update.

I've been with ADT for 10 years now and the service has been good. I haven't had any problems with them where I had to call them. I had to call a couple of times. I was gonna call 'cause I needed to get a discount. I was reading that they offer a senior discount and I intended to call to see if I could get that. I would recommend using ADT.

A lot of other folks have ADT and I needed a security system. I got ADT last May. I told them what I wanted and what I didn't and I was satisfied that they gave me that. The reps were very curious. They knew exactly what to do and I commend them doing it really quickly and showing me how to operate the system. I'm glad that if I forget to secure my home, I can secure any place with my phone. I love that idea. Also the fact that my son can monitor stuff as well. He knows also when I don't secure the home. All in all, ADT is a great protection service as far as security for someone's home. My girlfriend had it, so I asked her about it before I did it. It was really helpful to know somebody that already had ADT.

ADT called me about renewing my service agreement. They were looking for another three years. I asked what would happen if I signed to extend it then I sell the house. They said I'd have to pay a prorated amount. I told them I didn't want to extend and to just put me on month-by-month contract because I don't wanna get caught if we should sell the house the next month. Within a month and a half of the call, the next thing we got was an email that our fees have gone up significantly. Because I wouldn't sign a three-year deal, they decided they were gonna charge me more monthly. I pay my bill every month and there’s never a delay in payment. We would have taken the service at the new house, but at this point, I'm done. When the house sells, we'll cancel the service, and we'll be done. The service is good but I don't like how they treat you as a customer.

I've been an ADT customer, and my experience has been mostly positive. I haven't faced any significant issues, which speaks volumes about their service reliability. There was a minor problem once, but it was promptly resolved by their customer service, who treated me well during the interaction.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with ADT. The pricing seems fair, and I'd recommend it. As for their customer service and the system itself, both have been excellent, and I'm happy with them.

I was not happy with ADT. The last day of my contract, I'm gonna get out of it. They said for them to come in and put in a new one, they were gonna charge me for it. Every time they come to my house, it's a charge. I was having issues with it at one time and I had the guys to come out. It took the guy two hours but he did not fix it. And ADT charged me $400 for the two hours. They told me, "We're gonna send out another guy to look at it and see what happened." He came out but he didn't fix it. Then he charged me. So, it's still not fixed what they were supposed to fix.
The company that we were with called us to let us know that someone was in our house. It scared me so bad that I canceled that company that I was with and I called ADT thinking that they would be more secure. The guy said I'd be more secure with ADT than I was with the alarm system that I had. But I've never been happy with them because when they come out, they always wanna charge me and until this day, it's still not working. I kept telling them, "It's not working." Then ADT would say, "Okay. We solved the problem. We're not gonna charge you." The next thing I know, they charged me and the bill goes up, too. I spent six months arguing with them, "Hey, look. They have not fixed the problem." They said, "But the guys came out to your house. You need to pay them."
I've been battling with ADT back and forth. I just went ahead and paid the bill. When I called back, the lady said, "Well, your thing is outdated. We need to upgrade you." I said, "Well, upgrade then you're gonna charge me if you upgrade it. I'm gonna get charged for it. I'm not gonna pay 2,000 or 3,000 again after I pay $2,000 or $3000 in the beginning.” If I get out of the contract, I gotta pay $2,000. It's a nightmare with ADT.

I like ADT's reputation. Their sales rep came to our home and she went over everything and explained everything to me. She was very good. The installers were great, too. They took their time and put the monitor wherever we wanted it. They were nice people. As far as the product, it's exactly what I was looking for. As a matter of fact, they give you a button where you can do it remotely. So, I went out the front door and I pressed the button and it was the wrong one. We weren't in the house when they called. So, they sent the police out. I had to pay a fine, but they were doing their job.

We put ADT at our cabin over three years ago and then we put it at our home in town about six months later. Our experiences with the sales representatives on the phone was fine but when they came to the house, I was not pleased, especially the one that came and put it in the cabin on Pine Oaks. It was at the time of COVID and he was real cocky about it. We were closing up our cabin and it was October and I had a time crunch, so I took it. He didn't explain anything, which is part of the problem. Then we had to put it in town about six months later and that person was much nicer and no complaints that way, except for the one in town doesn't work. I called to talk to ADT and they told me how to set the screen and I did. I set it after I got off the phone and the alarm went off again. I don't use it to set the alarm on the house when I'm gone so, it's useless.
We've talked to ADT a few times and we have not been happy with them. One time, I must have waited a half-hour for somebody to come on the phone. By the time he answered the phone, we had left the cabin. I was talking to him without the benefit of everything right in front of me and he was very disrespectful. Our cabin contract is up and our house will be up in the spring. We are seriously looking at some other forms of security because we haven't had good luck with ADT. I know they've been around forever and the price isn't that bad, $70 per building. But if it doesn't work, what good is it? ADT needs to clean up their act.

The ADT system is not always reliable. Some things had to be repaired. I gave up one panel because it was beeping at 5:00 AM. A new battery had been put in. I was told to call them at 5:00 AM, but I would not be calling anybody at 5:00 AM. I like the camera, but it doesn't work most of the time as well. It says that the signal is weak and I have extenders everywhere in this house.

My experience with ADT has been good. Any time I've had an issue, I get notifications or they've notified the cops and the cops promptly come over. I have no complaints other than it costs money, but everything does. The system has been very good. We recently upgraded from our older system to the new system and it just works well. The keypad is very self-explanatory. It's a touchscreen, not the old buttons that get sticky. I like interacting with my phone and I can see what's going on. I get timely emails too. Even if we open a door that we don't usually open, it lets me know. I'm happy with ADT. It works for me.

My experience with the ADT reps was very good. Once we decided to get going, they scheduled us within the next couple of weeks for installation. I like their pricing and their equipment as well. The alarm system itself is great. However, we're very dissatisfied with the outdoor cameras because it's a very poor quality product.
It has trouble with the internet connection, at times. If you get a motion alert on your app, when you go to it, it takes forever to connect to the camera. By that time, whatever was there was gone. I've been doing more research on it. The quality product of those cameras is pretty low. They're cheaply assembled. I should have purchased the camera package at Costco, the quality is a whole lot better.

We decided to go with ADT due to the background and the longevity that ADT has been in the business of protecting homes. The functionality is superior to the other products that are on the market. Everything has been streamlined. It's easy to pick up. ADT's products make it even easier. We purchased the key fobs. They can be called key fobs, which my wife use often because she couldn't remember the code. She walked in the house one day and I set the alarm but she didn't know how to get on the keypad and do it. So, she remembered, "I got the key fob." That was worth it. She could have just sat there for a while and it would turn into a chaos. It worked out.
I came in one night and I forgot that I set the alarm and it went off. I was contacted by one of ADT's representatives. He asked me what was going on, who I was. I gave him my password. He made sure that everything was safe. Once we got the alarm deactivated, he contacted me to make sure that everything still was safe, which was going beyond service because he could have just said, "Everything's safe," and went on about his day or night. But he made sure that that everything was okay for a second time. That made me know that we made a good choice of getting ADT as a home service security system. It's the best security system you can get. And your home insurance gives you 10% off. That's a plus, too.

I had to contact ADT to try to help me set up the camera again. Customer service was good. They responded fast. My system is okay. It does what it does. The only thing is I was surprised that after the first year, I got a notice saying the fee is going up for the year. I get it. I thought I had a contract for three years.

There is a lot of confusion for me to learn how to operate the system. Also, the smoke detector was installed poorly. It was installed too close to the kitchen. So, it would go off when there would be smoke from cooking. Someone came out to put it in a better position. The features in my package get the job done, but it was a first class pain. The menus and the software are too complicated for me. There are too many options. The instruction manual that was furnished was not appropriate, and I've had too many false alarms. The response times from ADT have been satisfactory. The problem is, I don't have my cellphone in my hand at every instant. As a consequence, if ADT calls in response to the alarm, I may not be able to pick up the phone. Next thing you know, the police or the fire department are at my front door.

When I ordered the ADT system, I got a discount because I have a USAA insurance and they were affiliated with them. They have since stopped that, but at least I got my system in while they were still giving the USAA discount. Many in my community also use ADT and are satisfied with their service. I'm also really pleased with the system's functionality. All my exterior doors are wired, and I have CO2 as well as heat and smoke detectors directly integrated into their security system. They're downstairs in my family room where the furnace is at. I also have a fire and smoke detector on the first floor just down the hall from the kitchen.
ADT is a good system and my favorite feature is how easy it is to arm and disarm the system from my phone. It's also reasonably priced and their security center is very responsive; they've communicated directly with me during a couple of false alarms before involving the police. Overall, I feel very secure, especially since it's just my wife and me. We're retired and we're out of the house quite a bit. Now, I know that I've got the CO2 monitor and smoke detectors and if something were to happen while we were out, the notice will go directly to ADT Security Center.

I've known about ADT for 20 years. I worked with them in the past, then I left because their services became too expensive. I went to another company and they started raising their price. I went back to ADT, then they lowered their price. I have their standard security system, and I appreciate how promptly they call to follow up on alarms. Given my experience, I would rate ADT as a solid 4 out of 5. Having a security system is very important and I would recommend it for every house that has glass windows. When I'm in the house, I can hear when somebody breaks my window and tries to sneak in, but when I'm away from the house, how am I gonna know? Sometimes we go away for a weekend and it's good to know that the house is safe.

The quality of the system as well as the features are good, and when anything goes on, they promptly reach out and notify me. I wouldn't change ADT for anybody else. We had construction done on our house and after that, we decided to start ADT up again. We had had them for a long time, since 2008, and they recommended upgrades. They gave us a quote ahead of time for everything then they came out and did the upgrades. As the installer was leaving, he asked us to quickly sign on his iPad. What we didn't know was he had charged us over $1,000 of additional installation fees for putting in different window sensors that we didn't know we were paying extra for. It took us several months to realize it, and when we did, I made several attempts to get it figured out with ADT.
Over the course of six months, I've spent three hours at least trying to reach someone to get this figured out. They would say they had to escalate it to their management and that they were gonna have them call me back, but they wouldn't. Then I'd have to go through the whole process again. Nobody seemed to be able to find the story each time. I'd have to retell it then they'd all of a sudden find it in their records.
Finally, in the summer, we told them we wanted them to freeze our payments until it got figured out. That seemed to have gotten their attention. But in the end, when I got to speak with someone to settle it, she said she was not willing to give me money. She made it sound like I was stupid for not having figured it out sooner and I've used it all this time. What they finally gave us was not anywhere close to the additional fees that we had been paying. It was terrible. I sent a letter to ADT's customer relations about it too, but I never heard anything back. It doesn't make sense for us to change the service at this point. We're in this contract, so we're stuck now.

ADT is the most well-advertised system around. My sister has them, and she referred me. I got it for security reasons and the price now could have been cheaper, but I feel safe with the security system. I know it only can do so much, but it's a good thing to have. They’re a good company too. They try to help me from the office if they can. I was having problems with the system at one-time, and they tried to walk me through it over the phone, but someone had to come out. They needed something else. All in all, I would recommend ADT to friends.

Currently, I'm still adapting to the system and find it challenging to operate the key fob. Unfortunately, the contact number I have for customer service isn't valid, so I haven't been able to reach them for support. We've been with ADT for over 20 years, and it's very good how I'm able to access everything on the phone. They do well except for the repair area. When you have an issue, the customer service was good in the very beginning. But now it's more difficult. It's harder to get through. They don't wanna come out and do anything. They're putting more and more on the customer. They wanna do it via video chats. The personal touch has gone. We are senior citizens and when something goes wrong, we have to climb ladders. That's fine if you're young but at our age, it's another problem. Last time, when we had the battery problem and I couldn't clear it, I had to take videos and it was high. They do a disclosure in the beginning that you have to agree to that you could get hurt.

It's been a nightmare with ADT. I got them because I have people coming in my apartment and stealing documents. But I got them for nothing because they keep coming in. Someone is smarter than their system. Someone is intentionally breaching on the system but ADT can't detect it. My camera is not even working right now. For over two years now, the system has been telling me that the battery is low, which I've told ADT about. I get a red light blinking and it's beeping. I tried to change the batteries but it's very hard to do it and I don't wanna break the system.
They should send somebody to change the battery. The had sent somebody to see what the problem was but the guy said there was nothing wrong. I said, "But the battery is saying that it's low and it's been saying that for over two years." He said, "Obviously, it's not the battery because if it was the battery, the system would have been dead." That was the same thing that I thought but he didn't do anything.
I called them more than once and told them I wanted cancel the service because they're not protecting me. They said, "If you do that, we're gonna put a lien on your property." I wanted to protect my credit so bad that I didn't want that to happen so I let them get away with it. But now, I don't care if they put a lien on my property. I'm gonna cancel them. I've had a terrible experience with them that is already affecting my health.

I've been using ADT Home Security for almost a year now, upon the recommendation of my sister. My interactions with their sales representatives and customer service have been consistently positive. Whenever I've had questions or needed assistance, they have been prompt and helpful. The installation process was flawless. The technicians were thorough in demonstrating how the equipment works and ensured I understood everything, including setting up my password. I feel confident that I'm receiving the right security package for the price I pay. Fortunately, I haven't had to deal with any alarms, whether real or false, as I'm careful with the system. However, when I have tested it, the response time has been impressive, likely under two minutes after entering my password.

I first learned about ADT from television and chose them due to their presented quality and recommendations from acquaintances. However, my experience has been extremely disappointing. The sales representatives misled me into purchasing a system that supposedly offered 24-hour recording, which was untrue. After spending over $3,000 on a new system that included cameras, I discovered from a call to ADT that I lacked 24-hour recording. It took six months to stop the charges, and I never received a promised refund. Whenever I called for resolution, the calls were often disconnected.
ADT's service doesn't meet my expectations as what I received doesn’t work as promised. They don't verify my security status properly during alarm incidents, and they fail to honor their commitments. Discussions to correct billing issues were also unproductive. Despite initially paying bills six months in advance, I'm now hesitant to continue due to uncorrected discrepancies. ADT does not live up to their promises, and their service has been a huge letdown, especially given their past reputation. I would not recommend ADT to anyone.

Everything with ADT has been the worst experience of my life. I had been with them for 14 years and I called to cancel my service. They said they would get it canceled. Sometimes it could take 30 days. I have called them six to seven times. We're in December and I've still been paying every month since I called in April. They have yet to turn it off even when I've called the additional times. So, every month I still pay for their service at a house I don't live at. I called from April through August every month and made a complaint and they said they would refund the money, but they never did. I've been waiting to see what will happen since after August.

I recently had a couple of interactions with ADT home security. My initial experience began when I was approached at home, leading me to choose their service. I've had to contact ADT twice due to issues with the camera. During one incident, a representative resolved the issue over the phone, and on the other occasion, they sent someone to my home.
I find the system satisfactory as it alerts me whenever a door opens, specifying the location like the front or back door. Overall, the quality and features of the system are acceptable, and I haven't encountered any significant problems. I would recommend ADT home security.

I called ADT who was supposed to put me in a Google Nest but ended up with a third party. I don't know how that happened but they told me they were ADT. It was confusing. I had to cancel because that was not ADT. I have a doorbell that only picks up 15 seconds. I pay ADT $55 a month for 15 seconds of a pick-up which is ridiculous. They should bring out a product that works but they told me that's all they get. ADT is not worth it. I've been with ADT for 20 years but they don't help me. If they helped me, I still wouldn't be in a position I am for years. I would not recommend them to anyone. I'm looking in every different place and I won't have ADT by the next year.

The service is not the best. I'm not a big fan of the system. There are other simpler products that can do the job more accessibly. I have an extension of Wi-Fi and still the connection is not great. The sensors are outdated. ADT wanted thousands of dollars to replace those. I don't use it as it's intended to be used. It's not the greatest. I've called ADT before. But because it gives me a discount on my insurance, I decided to keep it. Other than that, the camera quality is fine. Also, the people I dealt with during the installation and the sales part were fine. The installer had an assistant he was training. It was good. It took them less than an hour.

I've been with ADT since 2021 and I'm overwhelmed with it because that was the first security service I had and thus far, I've been well-pleased. The salesperson was very informative and answered all questions that I needed to have answered and assured me that if anything happens and I need their service, they would be on-call. The person who installed the system was excellent. He was a very good communicator, kept in touch with me and if I want to move the cameras from one place to another, he made sure I could do it. He gave me a whole bunch of information that was very useful since then. ADT is a good service and I would highly recommend them. The price is a little high but I’m very satisfied with what I had initially and I haven’t gotten anything extra since then.

I've been using ADT for a number of years, and overall, I've been very happy with their home protection system. Initially, I switched from another provider, possibly AT&T, though I can't remember exactly the transition details. But I've heard a lot about ADT, and since they have such an established presence, I decided to give them a try. The functionality and performance of the ADT system have been excellent. I particularly love how easy it is to use, especially with the app on my phone. It allows me to control and monitor the system efficiently, such as turning it off if I forget to do so before leaving the house.

I had heard about ADT from a friend who praised their responsiveness, which convinced me to try their services. My experience with their system has been positive so far. For instance, when my son left our basement door open, I promptly received a text alerting me to the unusual activity, highlighting the system's effectiveness.
However, my initial experience with customer service was not great. The first representative I spoke to was quite rude, which made me hesitant to continue with ADT. Fortunately, a gentleman named Nick reached out to understand why I hadn’t returned their calls. He apologized for the previous experience, informed the home office about it, and provided me the necessary equipment for free as a gesture of goodwill. Nick's courteous approach and assistance definitely improved my perception of their service.
One of the features I appreciate most is the ability to arm and disarm the system using my phone, which adds a level of convenience. Although I haven't been using the system for long, I'm very happy with ADT so far. ADT is easy to use. When I had it switched over, their customer service rep, Tina, was excellent help. I am pleased enough with ADT. If I ever moved, I would look at ADT again. I would also recommend them to other people. I'm considering adding some security things and I'll be asking ADT if they offer it. The only thing is my ADT signs that go out in the yard have started crumbling and I would love to get some replacements for those signs that warn people that I'm with ADT.

ADT Home Security is a brand that's hard to miss; their advertisements seem to be everywhere. My experience with them, however, has been mixed. When it came to the sales representatives, I wasn't entirely satisfied. The person who came to install the system didn't know how to handle the programming and solving some initial issues.
That said, the service itself has been pretty reliable. I've not had any major problems since the installation. There have been a few times, maybe three or four, when the alarm went off and ADT contacted me. Sometimes, though, it's been my fault for not disarming the system in time.
Overall, if I were to rate my experience with ADT, I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

I wanted to cancel ADT, but they won't let me. They said I have a contract with them until 2025. I had a negative experience with them. They mailed me my batteries, and I tried to change my batteries myself but I couldn't. I'm a disabled veteran. They sent some guy out here who changed the batteries but I had to pay $153. That was crazy. It shouldn't have taken him that long to change the batteries to where I had to pay for it. The lady had told me on the phone that they weren't gonna charge me, but they did. When there was a smoke detector in my house that was beeping, I couldn't figure out what it was. I messed with the ADT system to change the battery and it set something off. ADT called me and that was the only time they did me. I never set my alarm because it's pointless.

Once the ADT sensors were installed, it was simpler to stay a customer than to move and do something else. I haven't been thrilled to death with the service. But I just have not moved. I've had other things going on. I've tried to get customer service on because I wanted to talk about some things that I wanted to improve. There's something going on with the sensors. I have wanted to get a service person out here to see them. But I have been totally unsuccessful when I have gone through their website and called. It ends up sending me into a phone tree that I never get a response on.

We've been ADT customers for a while and they have been responsive when I needed them. The price is a little high though. I spend 70 dollars a month. But I haven't had any problems with the equipment. They replaced the old telephone monitoring system and I now have an internet-based system. The first key fob broke after less than a year so I just put it aside and didn’t use it. I complained to ADT and they replaced it with the same type. If I put that on my key chain, it's gonna break again. So, I found this little rawhide shoelace and it’s flexible enough that it doesn't bend and stress the material that the key fob is made of. The ring is mounted in the corner. It's quite a thin piece of plastic that has the metal in it. The older ones were much better designed. I'm not sure if the signal is strong enough to get from the garage to the alarm pad so I find it difficult to use when I go out.

I have been a loyal customer of ADT Home Security and have had a positive experience with their services. They respond well and their equipment is consistently updated, which I appreciate. I also have experience with another company's security system at my other house, where I often find the screen difficult to see, highlighting the quality of ADT's equipment by comparison.
One of the features that impressed me the most is the remote control functionality. Initially, I didn't think I would use it much, but it has proven to be very convenient, especially when my hands are full while trying to get in the door. It's easy to use and enhances the overall experience.
I haven't needed to contact their customer service as I've had no issues with the system. If someone were to ask me for a recommendation for home security, I would suggest ADT without hesitation.
Currently, I don't have any suggestions for improvement. I wasn't present when the system was set up, and my adult son handled the installation, so I plan to contact them for any additional information I might need.
Overall, I highly recommend ADT Home Security and would rate their service 5 stars.

A long time ago, I lived in several different places and my house got burgled three different times. I decided it was time to get some sort of security system. So, we signed up with ADT. It’s a good service and we’ve been customers for so long. I recommend it. We have a complete security system. The only problem I’ve ever had with ADT is I have one doorbell security camera and one driveway camera and for some reason or another, I’ve had a hell of a time getting the driveway camera to work well. It may have more to do with internet problems than it does with ADT. Everything else has worked wonderfully well. The customer service does a good job. But I’m an old guy and I hate the automatic telephone trees that everybody has now. It can make it really complicated and difficult and time-consuming to finally get to a live human being that you can talk to about your problem. And that also applies to ADT.

I heard about ADT from a family friend and choose them because I heard only good things about the quality of their service. At first, everything was good, then after a few months, the system failed all the time. I have had to buy batteries every month to replace them. It's specific to the three sensors and I tried to call before to see if I can fix that problem but I have not succeeded in getting somebody to return my call. They said they're gonna call me back, but nobody did. It's been two years and I still keep paying every month. My contract's already done. I received a survey on my email and made a comment because the only thing I can do is be honest. Other than that, my sense of security is good. My favorite about the system is I have the screen within my reach and I can see all the time. I can trust and feel safe with the system, whether I'm home or away.

When I called in to sign up, the sales representatives were very informative and helpful, guiding me through my options seamlessly. The installation team was professional, clean, and efficient, ensuring everything was set up properly and even taking the time to walk me through using the touchpad.
However, my experience has had its challenges. Initially, I faced multiple issues with the system - notably, the fire department was mistakenly alerted a couple of times. Although I reached out to ADT, they often just guided me through the same troubleshooting steps over calls, which didn’t resolve the problem in the long term. It was frustrating, especially when I recently found myself in a situation where the fire alarm went off while my wife was home, and ADT couldn’t even contact their on-site technician to verify the situation. Despite having the service for about a year, these recurring issues, combined with the inability to effectively resolve them, have been disappointing. I hoped for a more reliable system due to the security needs of my neighborhood.
While I appreciate the helpfulness of the staff and technicians, the follow-up service leaves much to be desired. It’s been a 50/50 experience for me. Though they’re attentively on the phone, I wish they’d take more initiative to resolve persistent issues beyond basic troubleshooting. It’s like going back to square one every time a problem arises. Overall, I’d rate my experience with ADT at two stars. The sales and pricing were excellent, but the reliability of the system and customer service once you’re facing issues have been lacking.

I don't like ADT at all. I needed a security service and I signed on the internet, but as soon as I finish my contract, I don't wanna hear from them again. When I talked to the lady the first time, she told me I was getting a contract for three years, but I found out that I signed for five years. I wasn't that happy about it. I also didn't like ADT from the beginning. I was supposed to get a motion sensor in my living room and the guy said my dog will activate it, so he didn't put one in. He just put something on the window. So my house is not even protected. Anybody can break in through the window and stay inside my house. I got a motion sensor in the kitchen and my dog has never activated it, but somebody else told me my dog will activate it. I've been like this all the time.
Another experience I had is when I lost my credit card. I missed a payment and they took almost $200 out of my account. I called and asked why they took the $200 out of my account and they said that I gotta pay full price for the equipment if I miss a payment. They were gonna put the money back, but later on, I called and they said they were not gonna put the money back. They also started raising my price without letting me know. If it's a contract, they shouldn't raise my price.

We had Xfinity cameras before and they kept going out. I heard about ADT through my brother-in-law and installation was great. ADT is good because when they go out, they come fix them. We use the system all day on the phone.

I had ADT for many years a while ago, then I went to another security system. When that one phased out, I came back to ADT because it's always been reliable and pricewise, it's good. Last year, I called because my bill was different than what it should have been and it was easy to reach someone. I just had to follow the instructions. I spoke to a young lady and she was very kind. We got it all back on track, and I've not had any problems since.

My last experience with ADT was good. The guy finally realized that I need a new sensor in the dining room window. I've been advising ADT about this since August, that my window was being tampered with. When I call, they say, "Okay, somebody will be getting back to you." Nobody ever got back to me and that upset me about ADT, but finally, the rep I talked to last checked into why I wasn't getting any response. Apparently, my cellphone, for some reason, blocked people, which I didn't understand. I said, "Well, change it to my wife's cellphone number."
A gentleman called and he walked me through the stages. I had to take the current sensor off and he turned a camera on where he could see everything. ADT is sending me a new sensor and I should get it on the 16th, then the guy's gonna call back on the 17th to help me install the new sensor. Overall, I've had ADT for years and I'd recommend them. Hopefully, they don't increase the price again. Everybody's increasing their price, which is ridiculous. There's no reason for that. They're just taking advantage of what's going on in the economy and I hope ADT doesn't do that.

My experience with ADT has been fine and I'm satisfied. I've only had one negative experience where the alarm went off and ADT didn't call. That was about a month ago.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been quite disappointing. Initially, their service was fantastic, which is why I chose them over other providers. However, things have declined significantly. Whenever there's a system issue, setting up an appointment is a hassle. They provide a four-hour service window, which can be highly inconvenient for those of us who work. Moreover, they aren't available on weekends, adding to the frustration.
Additionally, I've encountered issues with the system itself. Whenever I change internet providers, the panel fails to retain the password, necessitating another service visit and an additional cost for something that should be seamless. It's perplexing since the password remains unchanged.
I'm considering switching to another provider because the service quality has deteriorated, and the costs have become unreasonable. ADT was once reliable, but now they fall short of their past standards. It's just not worth it anymore.

I'm not happy with ADT. Even though I set it, I feel that someone is still coming in. I'm very organized but things are slightly moved and I've had things tampered with. I don't know if they have another key fob to deactivate the alarm. Also, for a while, the software didn't automatically update. I pay $50 a month and they told me I was gonna have to pay more to have someone come out. Somebody came out and put a new box on up but it's just been a hassle.

I called ADT and the sales rep was very nice. The installation was quick and I feel safe and secure with this. I'm 92 and it took me a while to pick up on it, but I know how to correct certain problems when I have them. When I have other problems, I don't use my computer. I call them up. I want that voice one-on-one.

The sales rep answered what I needed to get answered. The install was done properly and quickly. However, I've had a few things that happened here and I never got any response from ADT.

We've been on and off with ADT for decades and in this house, we started with them a year ago. However, the first person they sent out clearly didn't know what they were doing so they sent an experienced tech that recommended how to wire everything in the house and did it all perfectly. ADT has done a good job with the app as far as monitoring. I know everything that's going on around the house. But I don't feel that I get enough customer support. I'd like to set the system up on my wife's phone as well but I have no idea how to do it. I'd also like them to tell me how I can turn off an alarm every single time I open a door or a window when it comes to my phone. I have to swipe those and delete them 100 times a day.

ADT knocked at the door and the rep and I spoke for a long time before I agreed to the service. I'm okay with the security system, but they gave me a Ring doorbell and that doesn't work very well. If somebody comes to the door and rings the bell, it doesn't ring my phone for a few minutes later. That's something that I would like to have changed. The service itself has been good. I haven't had any false alarms, and fortunately, for me, I haven't had any problems with strangers or the system. If I call ADT about my battery going down, they'll send me a new battery and I'm pleased with that. I would like to keep my payment from going up though.

ADT has been great, so far. Our cleaning lady made the system go off a few times and they called me. It was very fast. We also changed our keypad out on the wall, and they've come and updated our system. The customer service rep I talked to and the one that came on-site were great.

I was having trouble with my other system and I wanted one that could cover everything, including the barn. The ADT system is good. We're gone a lot, so we turn it on and everything works. I've had no problems with ADT, and I've told people about it.
