I’ve been with ADT for nine years and I stayed with them just to have the home security. If anyone wanna enter, I would be aware of it because I'm always at work. Plus, my mother was here. I have ADT because I like it for its features. When maintenance people and family members come over, I like to know who's entering. Dealing with the reps was excellent but I’m having a problem with the dashboard right now and I can't get the system to work on my phone. I can’t even get into the portal.

I've had ADT for years and I like that they are the most available right now. It's also easy for me to work the system and it has worked for what it's worth. The only complaint I have is living so far out in the country. I live 30 minutes outside of any town. A couple of times, my alarm's gone off to where I've had a phone call going asking was everything alright. I was sitting there thinking to myself if it wasn't alright, by the time they got off the phone with me, involved law enforcement and gave them at least 20 minutes to get out here, somebody would have been in and out in three to five minutes. Also, I don't know who answers my calls. Half of them don't speak English.

I was seeing signs in other people’s yards and hearing about ADT and chose them due to recognition. Most of my dealings with the reps have been good. I have casement windows and I have 28 sensors. So, the installation was not quick. But in hindsight, I did it when I was scared and I overdid it. I can have a whole bunch of false alarms in the middle of the night and I don’t like that. But I didn't know any better at the time. So, I don't blame ADT for that. And I have corrected it a couple of days ago. My very last experience with customer service was sensationally good. This was with the person that I was connected to who called me back to work on my sensor problem.

I've had ADT’s service for so long and I've reached out to them for various concerns. Initially, I didn't have the upstairs armed. But because I had a burglary, I upgraded the upstairs windows. ADT was in place and it was on a hard wire. This was prior to the wireless configuration they have now. I had a loud horn that blew outside and inside the house when the burglars were approaching downstairs. My neighbors were outside. So, they got out. When ADT came out to arm the windows upstairs, the wireless configuration didn't allow me to have that horn still installed. So, I was disappointed about that because it only rings inside. No one can hear it outside the home, whereas the other one blasted.
After the burglary, when I had the additional windows armed, ADT was gonna charge me for the service to come back out and put the additional windows. Also, I had a problem with the battery and they were gonna send the battery to me for me to install it. In this case, I had to pay for a serviceman to come out to put the batteries in because I didn't know how to do it. I understand that everybody wants to make money. But from what I recall in the conversation, there was no empathy. One other thing is that ADT’s prices are going up all the time.

I have used ADT in the past and they seem to have worked for me. The functionality has been great though no incident has occurred to cause it to work. I was just thinking the other night that I'm grateful for the security that I have right now. Things are a little rough in the world.

A third party installed our ADT and, and for some reason, I didn't get a monitor on a door that really needed it. I called them and I had them send it to me versus me having them come out. Haven't installed it yet. But I like them. They were nice.

ADT bought out the security company that I originally had. They didn't do any equipment upgrades. I don't think they were completely able to use the older different gear. I had multiple issues with the equipment itself, and couldn't get it resolved. They just wanted me to upgrade and buy a whole new setup. I wasn't gonna do that for their price, so I went someplace else. It also was not that easy canceling with ADT. I kept calling back.

We've had ADT for quite a few years. The performance of the system has been great. They have good people and they have a fair price. I feel comfortable having them. Sometimes we forget to turn it off and we open the door. And boy, they respond right back to us. I appreciate that. I like the indoor alarms and the alarm box that we set up. It's very easy and usable.

When I first started with ADT, I was happy with the service, but because the cost continued to go up, I looked for replacing it with a cheaper service. When I tried calling ADT about it last year, they did the reduction, then the price went back up. They didn't tell me initially that it was just six months. It was a miscommunication.
I reached out a couple months ago asking for someone to call me and assist because I was looking at reducing the plan or different options. They were gonna have somebody call me, but no one ever followed up. That was my last experience with ADT. I don't need the service right now, and I don't even use the system. It needs to be upgraded. Plus, there are other people that are offering more competitive options. I'm waiting until my contract expires so I can cancel.

I have an ADT system, but I don't use it much. I've got the camera on there but it's outdated and half the time it doesn't work. I reached out to the company at one time but it was a waste of time, so I've never done any more with it. The reps didn't help me at all on the phone.

The system works fine, but I had a bad experience with ADT. A yard man hit my sign with something and tore it up. Plus, I got a new solid glass screen door, and I wanted a sticker to put on there. So, I asked ADT for one sign and one sticker. I've called three times. When I called back the second time, ADT had my address wrong. They had me as Pinson, 35206, and it's Birmingham, Alabama, 35215. The man I dealt with told me he was gonna change it in the system to get that straightened out and that he would send the sign and the sticker, but I still haven't gotten anything. I don't know if they delivered them to the wrong place.
This is the first time I've ever had a problem. I'm 69, while my husband's almost 70 and we like that sign out front and on the door to deter people from bothering us. I need the sticker for my new screen door and the sign for the yard. I went online to try to order them, and they said I exceeded the amount I could get for the year. I have never gotten any and I don't know where they're sending them.

I've had ADT for years and the last two times somebody was here, the interactions went very well. However, ADT is too expensive if someone is just gonna get the minimal service like I have. It's just a basic house alarm and I've never had anything fancier than this. Originally, I went with them because their price was the best, but now I'm ready to cancel it. The price has gone up and I didn't even know I could monitor my system online.

ADT is a good company to deal with in terms of home security. The sales rep was good and the installation was very quick. I've been with ADT about seven months and the wireless system is quite adequate. It makes things safe.

I've had ADT for years. The quality of the system is good, and if anything happens, they're always there. If there's something that needs to be done, I call them and they take care of it. The cost is good as well. It hasn't gone up that much for the years that I've had it. All in all, I'm very happy with the service, and I really appreciate their support whenever I needed it.

Previously, in Michigan, we employed ADT for in excess of 10 years, then down here, it's been five years. There have been an accidental alarm entering the house, but other than that, we've not needed them for an emergency or a break-in. Many of the times, we were able to get to the panel and shut the alarm off. We have had phone calls from them on rare occasions where we haven't, and they've been given the code word so that they knew there was no issue. When the customer service people were out, they were fine. They also helped me on phone calls made when there were issues with the panel. All in all, the service is fine, but it seems like the price goes up every year. Originally they were around $30 and it's up to $60 plus now.

ADT is dependable. I've had them for 30 years and the system is good. It's security for the house and I haven't had any problem. The technician that came out to the house was very cordial and knowledgeable. He listened to what the problem was and fixed it.

I had the service years ago. It was doing well, but my husband stopped it and I wanted to get it back. This is the company that I could go back to and hopefully still have the positive service that I had before. Right now, my sense of security is very good, and I've had a positive experience with the people that I've dealt with at ADT. I haven't had any issues and we're hoping to keep it like that. Having the system can help people feel comfortable when they sleep at night or go away from their home. It's connected to my cell phone and I can see who's coming near my home or going in and out, which is good.

We have ADT for home security, and if anything goes wrong, we can call somebody and have somebody come out. I don't have any issues with them at all. The cameras work well. I had one issue with one camera, but it seems like it's working fine now. The service meets my expectations well. It's just that the price has gone up a lot and while they've sent notices, a lot of people now are just going to Ring cameras or other stuff. They don't have to worry about paying that monthly fee, or they pay a fee one time and that's it. ADT should pay attention to that because they can easily lose a customer by somebody just getting all the cameras in the store.

I had been connected with ADT for over 20 years. When I started with them, they were very responsive and I would have people come to the house to help me if I had a problem, but then all of that seemed to disappear at some point in time. I had a lot of issues with the system, probably because it was so old. In fact, I had disconnected it. I didn't use the system by the last six months that I paid for it because it would go off for no reason in the middle of the night and then I couldn't get anybody on the other line to help me cut it off. I ended up cutting it off completely so it wouldn't do that. It wasn't reliable and I'm sure it was because it was older. If I had changed to wireless, it would have been better, but by that time, I was so over ADT that I wanted to go with somebody else.
I could never get anybody on the phone and it would take forever to go through all the automated things. Still, I called ADT to say that I wanted to change from a wired system to a wireless and they quoted me about $400, which was a lot. In the meantime, I found out about another company, read about them and I liked them. They were cheaper and every time I called them, they were right there to answer me. So, I dropped my service with ADT and went with somebody else because of the customer service.

I've had ADT for 25 years and it has been excellent. When I asked for help, they came and did a fantastic job. The system is also excellent, and I can do things remotely with the ADT Pulse. I've had no problem so far. It's a good product and if someone wants it, they can buy it.

We've been ADT customers ever since we came here 22 years ago. The system was already installed in the house when we bought it and the customer service reps have always been right on the spot about it. If we set our alarm off, they make sure all of our contacts are notified. We've had very positive experiences. The price has gone up quite a bit, but so has everything else. We understand the cost increase. We're very pleased with their service and have been all these years. We tell people how pleased we are too.

When I moved in here over 20 years ago, I got ADT and I've had them ever since. I'm satisfied with them. If you look online and ask for the best service, ADT comes up and there's nobody near them. This is why I stay with then. It's a wonderful service for what they do. Less than five years ago, I had a guy out to update the unit. He took out the wall unit and put in an updated one. When the testing comes and we're supposed to test the unit, and when we have to talk with somebody from ADT on the phone, my wife handles that and she's never complained.

ADT came out and installed like I requested. I'm in a safe area, but you never know. Sometimes I'm out of town so I want security on my house. The gentleman that came out asked me where I wanted everything. He told me where he thought everything should be, and I went with what he thought. He was quick and didn't waste any time. He got it done and showed me how to use the monitor.
I like that ADT is available and they have all types of things that I could add if I want to at a later time. But right now, I'm happy with the service I get and I don't see a need for anything extra. I know there are others that are less than ADT price-wise, but because they've been in business so long, I wouldn't even think about it. One time, we had a power outage that lasted about an hour. As soon as it come back on, I called ADT and they walked me through resetting my monitor which took about three minutes.

The alarm works well, but I'm more interested in the cameras, which have such a long delay as far as taking pictures. If something happens, I'll miss it because it hasn't shown it yet. ADT has come out and replaced the cameras, but it's the way their cameras are. I've had ADT since 2008 and I'm not happy with their cameras, but at the same time, I don't want to have to try to find another security system and pay all over again.

We got ADT a long time ago. We were traveling at the time so we wanted to have an alarm system. We have the basic package where when the alarm's on and the door opens, the alarm goes off. However, it used to be that if by some chance I walked out the door and the alarm went off and I turned it off, someone would call and ask if everything is okay. They don't do that anymore.

I've had ADT for over 20 years. At the time, they were the premier company. We upgraded about six months ago and the installation was fine. However, when we upgraded, I was not informed that I would be charged three different times of the fee. Also, sometimes the pad does not register our code right away and that's a little frustrating. But other than those, the system is fine.

ADT offered very good deals and they held to them. We had no trouble with the sales reps, but installation was a little tricky. They sent me a guy who only knew how to hook up cellular and not landline, so by the end of the night, four guys came and helped him hook it up. It took all day long, but ultimately, we had no trouble with them. ADT is reliable and we like their service. We've never wanted to change because they're a reasonable service and if our alarm goes off, they call us in seconds. They're great. I love them.

I wanted a hardwired system. Part of it is, but the main brain is a battery backup and cell. I've been happy with everything except for, when we were doing the installation, I talked to the salesperson and had everything ironed out. When the installer came, he said, "Let's do this. Let's do some fire alarms, smoke detectors." He did several things, and ADT ended up sending me a bill for a lot of money. The installer tried to upsell and he didn't say that it wasn't all included in what we had discussed already. That was the biggest thing. But we got that rectified. When you talk to the salesperson, iron down what you want. And when the installer comes out, make sure if you decide to do anything else, that's fine. Know that it's going to be more money. They use their technical lingo. You don't know what they're talking about. Other than that, I like ADT's reliability. We use the app a lot. We can arm and disarm it from our phone. Super easy.

Worse company in the world! Hands down! They came to my location and broke my attic door, stepped on the ceiling and cracked that as well. Took my Brinks system with them and never brought it back after 112 phone calls.

I would leave a zero review if I could. Been a customer for 3 years and they took money out of my account a LARGE amount. That they were NOT supposed to take without informing us. I called for a refund and was told we would get the whole amount in 2-3 PRIORITY days checked my account on day 3 no refund. I was told Monday I wouldn’t need to call back it would be in my account. It’s not. Called and was told they credited it to my account and now they start the refund which takes 7-10 days. And also hey your bill for MARCH was generated so we took from the credit we was suppose to refund so now you aren’t getting the whole refund now and I have to wait 7-10 days my account is negative and I have overdraft fees that they also wouldn’t give me. UNPROFESSIONAL.

DO NOT use ADT. I recently sold my home and was 2/3 through my contract at the time. When I moved to my apartment I was told that I could “transfer” my service or buy out my contract. Well, I didn’t want to pay $1k + to buy out my contract so I chose to transfer the service. What they don’t tell you is that your 3 year contract starts all over again. To me, that’s not a “transfer” as you are starting all over again. Basically, I’m being held hostage by ADT. I highly recommend you don’t use them.

I was trying to find 2 additional garage door openers that would also activate/deactive the house alarm. I know they used to exist because I have one. I was told that I would need a technician who would come out to help. When he arrived, I was told that I would need a new system upgrade and that the garage door and alarm could then be controlled by the ADT app on my phone. I explained that what I asked for and was told I would get is garage door openers - not an app. I sent him away.
I called again to see what the options were. ADT told me that my garage door company could do this. I scheduled that service. That gentleman came to set up 2 new garage door openers - not do anything about the security system. ADT - wrong again. So I sent that gentleman away as well. I called back to ADT after I discovered that there was a "key fob" that I could keep in the car that would allow me to activate/deactive the alarm. Solid solution - even though I had to find it myself. So I called to order the fobs. They were to be sent Friday with expedited delivery for Tuesday. Package arrived on Tuesday, but contained door sensors, NOT key fobs.
Called to straighten out the problem. Over the course of the next hour, I was passed from person to person with holds in between. When I (re)ordered the keyfobs, I was told I would have to wait for the door sensors to be returns before I could get the $150 credit for their costs. I said I would go ahead and pay for the fobs now ($90) so they could be sent asap. I asked for expedited delivery like last time and was told I would have to pay for it. I asked if there was someone I could speak to about it and after another long hold, got a person who said no. She sent me back to "sales" where I was then told that the order was cancelled.
Went to dinner and had a much needed highball. Called again to be told the order was not cancelled, had been shipped, and would arrive in 3-5 days. Today, my entire alarm system is down and after 30 minutes of "troubleshooting"on the phone, a technician is being dispatched tomorrow. In summary, ADT has $240 of my money and I have exactly nothing. Not key fobs, not a working alarm. Nothing. We've had ADT for 12 years, but I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM. Find another company who has real customer service, but ADT does not.

DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. When I signed up for service I was not told there was a 3 year commitment. We just kind of skipped over that part. I also did not get a contract until one a month later, well after the initial 3 days. Now I'm going to have to pay an attorney to sue them. This is a scam organization, don't let them near your house.

I had used ADT for 20+ years and was satisfied. Rarely had any interaction with them. We moved and the new house had an ADT system in place. Since we signed up we have had many problems. I have been on the phone with them at least 6 times. We have had at least 5 service calls. Their call center I would bet is not US based, which in my experience doubles the length of every call. I should have had my security system evaluated to find out if there were problems lurking, yesterday I had to call because the backup battery is low. They will charge me $100 to remedy it. I think they could have determined my battery was old when I signed up a few months ago. I do not recommend ADT.

My personal experience was awful! The technician showed up, tracked mud on the floor and then asked for my wife's phone to pull up the "Dashboard". He then asked, "What's the problem"? He obviously didn't read the service notes. Made my 53-year-old wife go get a ladder from my shed when he had two on the top of his truck. He said he can't fix it and does not have a camera with him. "We needed a door switch as well." "Don't have one of those either," he said. Then asked to use the bathroom! My wife was uncomfortable and didn't feel safe this entire time. His total visit was approx. 19 minutes. Most of which was my wife carrying a ladder and him using the bathroom. We called several times to customer service. None of them were listening!!! They wanted to send the same technician to the house after being told several times SHE DID NOT FEEL SAFE!!! Unacceptable!!!!

Predatory contracts and cancellation fees, poor customer support, and uncaring local representatives will leave you feeling trapped. Technician appointments scheduled six weeks out and canceled on short notice, paying for incomplete services, and total lack of response to phone calls can be expected. Calls to customer support will result in hours worth of transfers with no resolution, repeating your concerns to every representative. Getting out of this contract is like paying to divorce an abusive partner. Save yourself thousands of dollars and hours and hours of headaches by avoiding ADT contracts.

This company has horrible infrastructure. It maybe hard to not get frustrated but just know most any issue you have will take at least 2-3 reps help due to being constantly transferred around. I had to pay the remainder of contract for almost an entire year after a quick unexpected moving situation and was told by one of their reps that I wouldn’t need to physically call to cancel after the contract ended and that I would be fine. WRONG!! I was charged yet again the following month after my contract ended for an entire month (after paying in total almost $600) and had to speak to 3 different people before they would cancel my service and was never given a straight answer about a refund or even any intention of it. I finally just decided to dispute it with my credit card company. STAY AWAY FROM ADT. You’re much better off with any other pay as you go service like simplisafe or even vivint. Lesson learned. :(

I will never use ADT AGAIN after my contract is up. I was quoted a quote prior to installation and after everything was all said and done my contract quote went from $800 Dollars and some change to $2,300. I was told I can see my camera system that was provided to me and after everything was installed I was not able to see my system I was provided.
I then called ADT and explained it to them and was told “oh sorry but you have to upgrade your system to view the cameras." I told them that I just purchased the system less than 12 hours ago and was told the same thing - YOU SYSTEM. I was then changed $2,300. For the system and was then told by customer service after explaining the amount to them. “Yes I agree with you and sorry that you were lied to by the sales agent but there is nothing we can do. You’re not the first person to call about this. It happens everyday here and sorry that customers get taken advantage of like this by agents." SO BE CAREFUL. ADT DOES NOT SCAM YOU LIKE THIS LIKE I WAS SCAMMED. The installer even damage the front of my new home side of my home interior walls by drilling unnecessary holes that weren’t even used to run lines for the install of the cameras.

First it took weeks for them to come out and try to fix our equipment. So we were charged our normal monthly bill for something that wasn’t even working for weeks. Then they ignored the directions we gave them (the number to call before coming out and the time we would be there) and then got mad at US when we weren’t there. Also, We were scammed into a deal last summer and not told we would be locked into a years long contract after the deal was done. When we went to cancel our service one person told us it would be $450 and another told us $1000. Make it make sense. You can bet we will make sure everyone we know knows how awful this company is and not to use them and we will never use them again.

In early December I called ADT to see about getting some ideas for upgrades and reactivating my system. They said they would send a tech out sat 12/14/24. The tech arrived on time at 0800. I had been out late at work Friday so 0800 I am was sleeping and the knock woke me up. The tech comes in. We have small talk, then we get to brass tacks. I said I wanted to see what offers were available, I also wanna get cameras. Quick note prior to them sending the tech they sent like 3 emails for a contract to sign. Which I did not sign.
The tech starts messing with my system. He said, "It's not communicating." I said, "Yea. I think the phone wire is broken from when I had DirecTV installed." He ask about internet. I said I have hotspot from AT&T. He said it won't power any cameras. He went in my basement, came back up, said we can do CCTV cameras. I said, "Great. Lets get a quote." He said, "The salesmen do that." We laughed. He started talking about placement, then I yawned. To which he replied, "Do you need a hug to wake up?" (Very weird) I laughed (uncomfortable). He works in the wall mount again. Then goes to a glass break things. Says the battery is dead. Goes to his truck, gets one and a ladder, takes the old one out, put the new in.
He says, "Still won't communicate," I replied, "Yea the wire is broken." He said, "Does it need to be replaced?" I said yes. He ask if I was paying attention. Then he says, "It's gonna be 57 dollars." I said, "For?" He said, "Service call," I said, "It was supposed to be free", he said, "That was the consult." They waived the 99 dollars since I had ADT before. I get my wallet hand, him my card, pay. He hands me the phone to sign with my finger. I do. Then he says sale will reach out to me with basically quotes and when I decide he will come back and get a better idea of what to use.
We exchanged text so in case I was not home when he comes back. He never came back. Sales never called, my system does not work, January 9 I got a bill. For 63 dollars for the difference from 57 already paid. I called. We discussed everything. ADT said there was no contract. They emailed fraud paperwork and also mailed. They won't cancel a contract and said I signed it but they don't have it. But tell me to fill the paperwork out. Or the fraud gets denied. It ask for a contract. I have ask them to send with me signing it. They haven't yet. This is the craziest thing ever.

I've been with them for around 2-3 years now and the customer service is exceptional. Everyone is patient and pleasant, and even if someone doesn’t have the answer, they find someone who does. Their training should be a standard across the board. One notable interaction was when my system had a battery issue. I called ADT, and they patiently walked me through troubleshooting steps. If the issue wasn’t resolved over the call, they scheduled a time for a technician to FaceTime me and guide me through the process. Regardless of the representative I interact with, the level of service remains consistent and professional – it’s truly impressive. Getting in touch with a real person is fairly easy despite having to go through some prompts, which can be a little frustrating for me due to impatience. Nonetheless, it doesn't take away from the quality service.

I've been using ADT Home Security for 24 years, and my experiences with ADT's representatives during installations at two different homes have been positive; they were friendly and helpful.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I encountered some issues and had to endure lengthy hold times before receiving assistance over the phone. Nonetheless, the representative managed to resolve my issue remotely, which I appreciated given the circumstances. However, I am currently having a recurring problem with not receiving notifications for door or window openings. Whenever a door or window that has the alarm on it was opened or closed, we used to get a notification. Now, the system prompts to "check system," and although it seems to work since the alarm triggered once while opening a door, it doesn’t function as it previously did. This issue persists mainly because I’m hesitant to troubleshoot it myself due to past long hold times when trying to reach support.
Despite these challenges, I find ADT to be reliable and responsive as there was an instance 15 years ago when the police were alerted due to door alarms triggered by the wind, confirming the system's effectiveness. I believe ADT is a trusted brand that has been around for a considerable time, providing a sense of security. While I rate their customer service a perfect 5, I deduct a point for pricing, as everything seems expensive. Overall, I feel secure with ADT.

I got a home security system from ADT when I moved to a new location. Not knowing the area much, I thought it might be better to have some additional security. While I'm still unsure if it's entirely necessary for me, it has become handy when I'm away from home.
The salesperson who initially helped me was a bit too aggressive in upselling the glass break sensors, which turned out to be unnecessary given my small home. They tend to go off too easily, and I've let ADT know my dissatisfaction with this aspect. However, the window and door sensors have been quite satisfactory and meet my needs.
My interaction with their technicians was brief, mainly during installation, which went smoothly. Whenever I've had issues, ADT's customer service over the phone generally resolved them adequately. However, I do find their services overpriced, and I annually negotiate to bring the cost down to something more reasonable for the monitoring services.
In terms of recommendations, I would say if you value having a well-established company with reliable infrastructure, ADT is a safe choice. However, for someone like me who hasn't had a break-in, I sometimes wonder if a more cost-effective solution like SimpliSafe could suffice.
Overall, my experience with ADT has been average, and I acknowledge that it is ideal for someone truly in need of comprehensive security solutions.

I've been with ADT for about seven to eight years, but I stopped using their services four years ago because the system hasn't worked since Hurricane Laura. Despite not receiving any bills, ADT has been deducting payments from my account without my knowledge. I initially thought another service provider, Prodigy, was handling cancellations with ADT, but that clearly wasn't done.
When I noticed the deductions, I realized I'd been paying for a service that hadn't functioned in years. The system stopped sending me alerts and notifications after the hurricane, and I couldn’t use any features like the cameras. When someone offered a new service to replace my damaged equipment, I assumed they would manage my ADT cancellation, but that didn’t happen.
ADT's customer service was excellent when I first joined, and I rated them a five back then. It was good because I used it all the time because people were stealing packages and coming to the door. Even when I was at work, I got notice that the alarm was going off. But all of a sudden, I quit getting alerts and messages. Over the past four years, my experience has been extremely poor since I haven't received any service or assistance, so I'd rate them a one now. It's been frustrating, especially since I'm preparing for retirement and need to cut unnecessary expenses.
I regret not addressing this sooner due to my lack of technical expertise and other life pressures, but it's clear to me that I need to cancel these ineffective services. Hopefully, sharing my experience will help others in making informed decisions.

I called to get a doorcam and was told I can get it. Put the order in. I have a medical alert as well therefore they said I can get this with no problem but to find out that I can't get it unless I get everything and I already paid my money therefore why would you take my money then can't proved me with what I need. Never will tell anyone about them. Now as I'm putting this review in I have been on the phone with them for over a hour just to cancel my appointment like what? Really not cool.

I've been a customer of ADT for about 35 years, and I first heard about their services through a recommendation from USAA, our insurance company.
Over the years, I've found ADT to be incredibly reliable, which gives me great reassurance when I leave home or go on trips. The system's functionality is excellent, and I particularly appreciate how easy it is to use once installed. I can operate it from anywhere in the house without any hassle.
If I were to rate ADT, I'd give them a 5 for their reliability and the overall coverage they provide. As for customer service, although I seldom give perfect scores due to my belief that there's always room for improvement, I feel comfortable giving ADT a 5. For pricing, I'd rate them a 4, as there could be some space for improvement, but I don't have any issue with the current price.

I've been an ADT Home Security user for over 30 years. Throughout this time, I haven't experienced any issues with their service. The system's functionality and performance have been smooth. Although I feel I might need an upgrade, the current system has served me well.

I've been using ADT for home security since June or July of 2023, as it was preinstalled when I bought my house. While the system quality and features are standard, my experience with their customer service has been poor. It's frustrating not being able to reach them, and when I do, I am often bounced around to different people without resolution. I got fed up and stopped calling them.
I initially believed the installation would include a camera, but it did not. Although I'm currently paying for a service that should include a camera, there's no functionality because the camera is not part of the system ADT installed. Despite several attempts to resolve the issue via calls and emails, I've received no help or follow-up from ADT, even after being promised a manager would contact me. Consequently, I'm paying for a service that was not delivered as expected.
Based on my experience, I would rate ADT a 2 out of 5.

Having been an ADT customer for about 25 years, I have consistently had positive experiences with the technicians who come to service my home. The installers were polite and knowledgeable. They came right in and took care of everything. The guys who come to the house are the nicest men I've ever met as well, and they are very professional and kind. They have a guy named Scott, who is simply wonderful. There was also a newer gentleman who recently replaced some batteries for us. We got plan that accommodates our needs because we're older and we can't climb up on the ladder, and the guy was in and out of here and just as pleasant as can be.
However, I find the phone customer service to be lacking. The representatives don't seem knowledgeable or particularly concerned about customer issues. They don't even sound like they're American. They have a very strong accent like they're from another country and it seems as though they're not reading. They'll say, "Oh, it's going to be 50-something," and I'll say to them, "No, I think I have the package." They're very strange, but once I get them to understand and make an appointment, then after that, things are okay. When the guys came, one guy said, "You have an excellent package because everything is covered." Still, this disparity between in-person and phone service is noticeable and unfortunate, as it didn't used to be this way.
In terms of the service package, it meets my expectations perfectly. Overall, the in-home service is fantastic, and it's only the call center aspect that could use improvement.

I first learned about ADT when I bought my home. They installed a doorbell camera and some other features. Being new to the area and unsure about its safety, I decided to go with ADT. However, I encountered numerous issues with the system. The ADT system often fails to connect to our Wi-Fi, and the doorbell camera frequently goes out, requiring constant restarting. There were various small problems throughout.
Whenever I needed to contact ADT, I faced a 5 to 10-minute wait. Although the representatives were nice, the waiting time was frustrating. I can't recall specific conversations with them, but the first time we had an issue with our doorbell camera, the employee who assisted us was very knowledgeable. The camera's main issue was that it was slow; we could see the video, but people couldn't hear us, although we could hear them.
If I were to rate ADT, I'd give them a 2 out of 5. I would advise friends or family to explore their options thoroughly before choosing ADT. As for customer service, I'd rate it a 4, coverage a 2, price a 2, and the website a 3.

I first chose ADT Security System because my sister recommended it to me, and it seemed affordable. The price was a major factor, alongside its capability to alert when doors are opened, which I found very appealing. In terms of performance, the system does work well, but it can sometimes be triggered without an apparent cause, like in the middle of the night, which can be quite frightening.
Despite this, I appreciate that ADT alerts me via text messages and emails if anything unusual occurs with the system. Overall, I find it affordable, and it serves the purpose, even if I would only rate it a 3-star experience.

I have been a customer of ADT Home Security for over 30 years. My interest in their security system began after my house was broken into; I saw an advertisement on TV and decided to call them. Since then, the functionality and performance of the system have been excellent.
Whenever I've interacted with ADT representatives, whether sales or technical support, they've been fantastic. I remember an instance when my front door alarm went off unexpectedly while I was out. I received a call from ADT immediately, and upon my request, they dispatched the police to check my house. The response was quick and efficient, and interactions with their team have always been smooth.
Getting in touch with ADT representatives is very easy, which adds to their reliability. I would rate ADT a solid 5 out of 5 stars, and if I could, I'd give them a 10. I've never been compensated for my positive opinions; it's solely based on my own experiences.

I have been a customer of ADT for over 30 years, but our recent experience with them has been disappointing. When we moved, ADT increased our bill from $50 to $65. We are on a fixed income and believe that they should have honored the original price, especially considering our loyalty. The whole process was frustrating, including being charged a $600 early cancellation fee when we tried to transfer our service to a new address. We did not cancel our services; we simply didn't have a new address for a couple of weeks, yet it was very difficult to resolve this with them. While the alarm system functions properly, and I appreciate the convenience of managing it through the phone app, my overall experience with ADT leaves much to be desired. I had an incredibly frustrating experience with ADT Home Security, which began when the sales representative failed to inform me of a mandatory three-year contract. I only found out about it after the installation when my name was already on the contract. I discovered later that although there's a lifetime warranty, there's a charge of $60 for each service call to fix any issues. This was contrary to what was verbally assured by their representative.
Within a short period, the sensors malfunctioned, and the panel showed a low battery for no apparent reason. I had to resolve some of these technical issues myself due to poor installation. Furthermore, we've had alarming instances where unknown individuals managed to communicate through our security panel, raising concerns about its security vulnerabilities.
ADT's customer service was dismissive when I reached out for help. After posting a critical review on Yelp, they merely responded by sending me a copy of the contract I had been misled into signing. It was disappointing not to have my issues addressed or even an apology offered.
While the installation technician was competent and courteous, the overall experience with ADT has left me feeling scammed. I can't stress enough how much I regret trusting them with the security of my home and family. I would advise others to avoid ADT at all costs.

We got a home security service when an ADT Home Security representative came to our door, though I'd known of them beforehand. Since I travel frequently for work, their service seemed like a fitting choice for our security needs. My interactions with their sales representatives were somewhat pushy, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Unfortunately, my experience with the service itself has been unsatisfactory. Early on, we had a CO2 sensor malfunction. I called, and they couldn't deactivate that from the service. We were away in another country and we had a house sitter. We did not feel the service was very good for helping us in that instance. I called ADT back as well as put complaints in online, but they never did anything about it. Right now, I just have the volume all the way down and I think the alarm's going off 24/7. It's useless to me. We are essentially paying for a service we cannot use, and I've decided to cancel as soon as my contract expires, which should be happening shortly. It’s been disappointing, with the system now just an eyesore in our house.
The problems started about one to two months after installation, and since then, it hasn’t improved. Overall, I would rate ADT a 1 out of 5. It's very crappy and we're not recommending it.

I first heard about ADT Home Security through a commercial. Living in the countryside, I decided I needed a security system. The ADT system is great. The picture quality is very clear, and I can easily monitor my property day or night.
An experience that stood out was when I messed up on the code and set off the alarm. ADT immediately called me to check if everything was alright or if I had a problem. My sense of security has significantly improved since installing the system, and I feel like I should have made the decision to get it a long time ago.

I have been using ADT for quite some time now, primarily because I was a Guardian customer, and when ADT acquired them, I was transitioned to their service. I've had the system for at least five years. My experience with ADT has been mixed. Because I'm hearing-impaired, I have strobe lights installed as part of my system and they're crucial for me to know my alarm's going off, especially since I can't hear them without my hearing aids. I had a guy come out here because the system got triggered during the day and I asked him to check them. I didn't know the system was going on because I didn't have my hearing aids on, so I ended up getting calls from ADT, when, in fact, the strobe light was flashing, but it was so slow and up so high that, in broad daylight, I couldn't see it. ADT's technician mentioned the lights were working fine, but for me, they are not adequate during the day. Other than that, the system is fine.
Interacting with ADT has had its challenges as well. Sometimes, when the alarm goes off, I have difficulty understanding their agents due to their thick accents, although other times communication is smooth. As for navigating the system, there's no problem.
If I were to rate ADT, I'd give them a 3 out of 5 since the system works fine overall, but there are specific issues that impact my experience. I would tell someone considering ADT that if they have no hearing issues, the service might be suitable. However, those with similar hearing challenges might need to explore other options. The strobe light feature, in theory, could be life-saving in a nighttime emergency, but it lacks effectiveness during the day.

We first joined ADT Home Security in 2002 for the protection of our home while my husband and I traveled frequently due to our work in the NASCAR circuit. Unfortunately, my experience with ADT has been absolutely horrible and if I could find somebody else, they'd be gone. ADT charges a lot for poor service and even bill a month in advance, which seems ridiculous to me. I had a battery go bad and they sent it to me, but I installed it myself. They wanted to come by and check it and I said, "No, I work during the day. I'm not gonna take a day off so you can come over and see what I've got." I'm not happy with them.
Recently, a representative managed to negotiate my bill down to $45 after agreeing to a five-year contract. However, my husband has passed away and I'm unsure if I'm gonna remain in my house. We've been in the house 25 years and we've used their pulse services. Every time they upgrade something, we upgraded. I put five cameras at the house in 2018, but the service is absolutely terrible.
Interacting with ADT representatives has been very frustrating, particularly because many do not speak English fluently, and it's almost impossible to speak with an American representative. When I call and get someone who doesn't speak English, I ask for an American representative, but they don't wanna send it to me. "I take care of you." "No. I don't wanna talk with you. I want someone in America," then, they hang up on me.
I've got the cameras if something happens, which, before my husband passed away, I was able to pull up the feed when I couldn't get in touch with him. It was a good feature and the alarm system itself is good as well. It's just the interaction with people and the customer service is horrible. Given my dissatisfaction, I would rate them as negatively as possible and certainly wouldn't recommend them to others.

I first became aware of ADT when I moved to Tennessee from New Jersey in 2006. I didn't realize when I moved in that I ended up in a neighborhood with some crime. Some things had happened in my neighborhood, which led me to decide on getting an alarm system. Although I can't recall exactly why I chose ADT, I remember a sales representative coming to my house, and I liked what they offered.
My experiences with ADT's customer service have generally been positive and I would recommend them. There was an instance a couple of years ago when I needed a new battery, and they were able to send one. My son-in-law installed it for me to avoid a service fee from ADT. However, my main concern is the increasing monthly fees.
In terms of rating, I'd give ADT 4 stars for overall experience due to the pricing concerns. The customer service quality would also be 4 stars. Lastly, their online service for monitoring the system is rated 4 stars.

I decided to try ADT Home Security after having unsatisfactory experiences with other security systems. So far, my interactions with the sales and customer service representatives have been above average. I haven't needed a technician to visit my home yet.
The service features in my package have generally met my expectations. However, there's one issue – even though the system is supposed to notify my phone if someone rings the doorbell, my internet isn't good enough to get it that fast. I was told that was the reason.
I accidentally set off my ADT alarm once when I walked out the door without turning it off, and their response was almost immediate.
Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT as 4 out of 5 stars. The customer service, security features in my package, and the price I pay for the services all deserve a 4-star rating.

We asked before we moved if we would be charged an early cancellation. We were assured that we would not. We moved 3 months before the contract date & they are charging us a $200 cancellation fee. On top of continually increasing our bill (to offset inflation). I do not recommend using this company.

Can't help but feel that I'm being scammed, bought a new home that had a perfectly working ADT system put in by the previous owner, doors and window sensors worked, panel worked. The tech came in to reactivate service, broke my panel and now not even my window and door sensors work and his only solution was for me to buy a new $1500 security system.

If there was a way to give a lower score I would do that in a heart beat. This is an absolute joke of a company!!!! Our system has had an issue from the very first day, had the tech come back (who tried to upset us), and then leaves. We call repeatedly the customer service line, to be told MANY excuses. They are too busy, they only come out on Mondays, the first available appt. is in 2 months. Took the day off after verifying the tech will be here today between 8-12. Called at 1230 and they said the tech is still an hour behind schedule, still no update or tech. Want out of this contract so bad. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY.

I've been using ADT Home Security for as long as I can remember, probably over 20 years. Initially, there weren't many options available, so I chose ADT and have stuck with it ever since. Although I can't recall any interactions with their sales representatives, the features I currently have include cameras around the house, voice alerts on the doors, and a doorbell camera. These features meet my expectations to a certain extent, but I've encountered issues with them. One persistent problem is the frequent need to replace batteries. I'm surprised that after all these years, ADT hasn't offered new batteries or upgrades. Instead, I've been directed to purchase them myself. When faced with signal issues on the door chimes, I was told to open them up and buy my own batteries. It feels frustrating that ADT hasn't suggested any equipment upgrades considering how long I've been a customer.

I've had a frustrating experience with ADT over the past four years. Initially, I was drawn back to them because I had used them in the past, but my recent dealings have been disappointing. When I signed up again, the sales reps painted an attractive picture of their services, but the reality was quite different. I ended up paying $2500 for equipment, which I wasn't expecting, and the issues began right away. The equipment, primarily from Alarm.com and integrated by ADT, consistently malfunctioned. I purchased additional modules for my large house, but they frequently lost communication with each other, lighting up rooms in the middle of the night and disturbing sleep. This led to numerous service calls and replacements, yet the problems persisted without resolution. The outdoor cameras, which were costly, repeatedly gathered moisture, making them ineffective.
One of my biggest grievances is ADT's failure to honor their return policy. Despite countless calls and technician visits, when I attempted to exercise the option to cancel within six months due to dissatisfaction, I was given endless run-arounds. This left me locked into a contract without resolution. Their customer service has been unresponsive, and despite sending a cancellation notice via a consumer lawyer, I received no acknowledgment or refund. ADT's prices are steep, and given my experience with persistent false alarms and ineffective equipment, I regret not sticking with the individual systems I previously used, like Ring, which never had these problems. Their promise of a unified system appealing for convenience has not delivered the promised performance or peace of mind.

I have been a customer of ADT since 2002, and I've continued with them primarily because of their reliable service. The quality of their service has been consistently good, and I find their platform easy to work with. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I am monitored by their system.
Throughout the years, my interactions with ADT's sales representatives and customer service have been minimal, mainly due to a lack of any issues. I've probably spoken with them during setups, like when we moved or had ADT installed at my Montana home, but no incidents stand out as problematic.
The features included in my security package meet my expectations well. At one point, I updated the monitoring panel, which went smoothly. Although I've never experienced an actual emergency, the system has triggered accidentally a few times. When it does, I typically receive both a text and a phone call almost immediately. If I enter the deactivation code twice, it cancels the alert without further issue.

I've been with ADT since 2002, both at my current house and my previous one. I first heard about ADT from a friend at work who recommended their services, which led me to choose them over other security companies. My experience has been quite positive; if there's any issue, I can call them, and if they can't reach me, they'll notify the police. I really appreciate the wireless activation feature. In the past, ADT representatives have contacted me to make sure everything is alright when the alarm has gone off. Overall, I've been satisfied with their service and would rate them 4.75 out of 5. I've had a mixed experience with ADT. Although their customer service is easily reachable, some issues with my equipment remain unresolved. For over six months, my doorbell has intermittently stopped working. Despite receiving a replacement, the problem persists, and I've grown frustrated as ADT seems unwilling to send someone out to fix it. On the positive side, when my motion detector's battery died, ADT promptly sent a new one and provided assistance in bypassing the system until it arrived.
Contrastingly, I also have a Ring doorbell at the back of my house, which has consistently performed well without any issues. In contrast, my ADT front door camera is unreliable—it records only sporadically. I wish ADT would address these inconsistencies and provide more effective on-site support. Given these experiences, I would rate ADT with 3 out of 5 stars.

I have been using ADT for home security since around 2007 when we moved to our house in the country. At that time, I didn't really compare other companies because I knew ADT had a good reputation. My son also had a positive experience with them, so I decided to go with ADT.
Over the years, we haven't upgraded to newer equipment, except for switching from a landline to a wireless service. When ADT came out to make that change, the service was excellent—timely, polite, and professional.
If a friend were to ask about my experience, I would tell them that ADT is a good company with reliable service. I've had positive interactions with their customer service, and even though I had a minor issue with pricing at one point, it's been resolved, and I'm satisfied with the cost of their services now.
Overall, I'm highly satisfied with ADT and would recommend them to others.

I was with ADT for four years, and my experience was quite poor throughout that period. One major issue was the panel installed by my back door, which failed to work most of the time. Despite setting the alarm, it never went off when I entered or exited through that door. It took over three weeks for ADT to send someone to fix it, and even then, the issue was never fully resolved.
I faced a serious situation with someone stalking me, and I needed security cameras. Unfortunately, ADT was unresponsive to my requests and didn't even discuss the possibility of installing cameras. I eventually wrote to cancel the service, but they ignored my cancellation email and continued to charge my account, raising the monthly fee from $50 to $68 without notifying me. This was frustrating given my financial constraints as a Social Security recipient.
The service package included door and motion sensors, and after a while, the motion sensor kept falling off even though I tried securing it with new tape. When it malfunctioned, I couldn't get timely service from ADT. Ultimately, I stopped the automatic payments and switched to Brinks, though they weren't much better. I'm disabled and rely on automatic payments to manage finances, so this was particularly challenging for me. Customer service was lacking, and I felt my needs were not being met.
In terms of rating ADT, I'd give them a 2 out of 5 overall. For customer service and security features, I'd rate both as a 1. My experience was deeply unsatisfactory, and I do not recommend ADT based on my experiences.

I had a persistent issue with a faulty fire alarm that kept going off. However, ADT was very responsive every time it happened. They remained professional and polite throughout the process and successfully resolved the issue.
Since then, I haven't needed to upgrade or change anything about my services or equipment. Everything has been running smoothly. I am very satisfied with ADT's customer service and the security features included in my package. Additionally, I find the overall price for the service to be fair. I have been a customer of ADT Home Security for almost three years. During this time, my interactions with their customer service have generally been pleasant, though not entirely perfect. Initially, the installation went smoothly, except for a motion detector which was inconveniently placed too high, making battery changes difficult. Eventually, a technician had to replace it, but ADT did reimburse the service charge.
One of my concerns, however, has been the rising cost of my monthly monitoring fee, which has increased twice since I started at $59.99, now reaching $73. Despite this, there have been no upgrades or enhancements to my system's features. While their response to the first false alarm was prompt, subsequent false alarms did not receive the same attention, which left me questioning their monitoring efficiency.
On a positive note, I did receive a small discount due to retiree benefits, which was a nice gesture. However, when a competitor mentioned that my monitoring fees might be higher than necessary, it made me reconsider my options.
Overall, while not completely dissatisfied, I am also not entirely thrilled with ADT's service. Having the protection provides peace of mind, but I'm hoping the value aligns more closely with the cost in the future.

I have been a customer with ADT for less than a year, having transitioned from Alder. The switch was quite seamless, as I continue to use the Alder app for my security needs, although I haven't been guided on how to use the ADT app yet. I find the Alder app to be preferable and effective for my requirements.
Regarding equipment, there haven't been any changes; I only have the basic system. I did request additional window sensors, but unfortunately, I have not received any yet. Despite this, the features I currently have meet my expectations well.
I had an instance where the alarm went off, and ADT's response time was impressive. Overall, I would rate ADT highly, especially for their security features and customer service, even if there are areas where they could improve, like addressing requests for additional equipment.

Initially, I faced a significant challenge as my service didn't work for about eight months. During this time, I had to repeatedly contact ADT's customer service as I was being charged despite the lack of functionality. This was a frustrating experience, compounded by the inability to view my cameras, which is an essential service for security.
It took a considerable amount of persistence, including trying to reach the representative who initially set up my service, but they were unresponsive. Eventually, after six months of constant follow-ups, I managed to speak with someone who understood my predicament and sent someone out to resolve the issue. The technician mentioned that Verizon might not be the best fit for my area, which was confusing since my home was connected with Verizon when I bought it.
Overall, despite finally getting it resolved, I had a challenging experience with ADT. I'd recommend them but with reservations, mainly due to the lengthy and tiresome process it took to fix my issues.

I've been an ADT customer for about 20 years, initially because my wife recommended it to me. Overall, I've been quite satisfied with the service. One of the standout aspects for me is their responsiveness; whenever the alarm has gone off, ADT has been quick to respond.
There are a few areas for improvement, though. While the monthly pricing has been fair, the cost of upgrading the system has been exorbitantly high, which is a bit frustrating considering my growing needs. However, their customer service has consistently impressed me. It's incredibly easy to get in touch with a representative, and every interaction I've had has been positive. In a recent incident, someone attempted to break into my house, and the police arrived promptly after my alarm went off, which ADT assisted with efficiently.
One of my favorite features is the panic button which allows me to discreetly alert the police in case of a home invasion. This feature provides an extra layer of security, which I highly appreciate.

I've been using ADT Home Security for some time, mainly attracted by the promise of extensive security with video monitoring. Unfortunately, I've encountered a recurring issue. I was originally drawn to their offer of up to 6000 video clips per month, but the system often misidentifies my dogs in the backyard as people. Because of this, my clip quota is exhausted very early in the month, leaving my home potentially unprotected for the remainder. This is particularly concerning since any actual intruder might not be recorded when it counts.
I initially chose ADT when they knocked on my door soon after purchasing my home in 2023. I thought it might be a reliable service to secure our property, but my experience hasn't lived up to that expectation. I've contacted their customer service multiple times about the misidentification issue. Although they attempted a fix, it hasn't improved the accuracy of their detection system.
Aside from this ongoing discrepancy, my interactions with ADT have been limited. The installation went smoothly, but I've had no further in-person contact since the initial setup. I would rate my satisfaction with ADT's features as 3 out of 10. I'm considering canceling because, as it stands, I do not feel assured of comprehensive security throughout the month. Despite trying to adjust the settings on the app myself, the problem persists.
Overall, I do not recommend ADT based on my current experience. I've rated them 3 on a recommendation scale due to my dissatisfaction with their service. I'm still in search of a solution and plan to reach out to them again or look for alternate advice online.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been very disappointing. The system was already installed when we bought our home, and we've been using it for almost three years. Unfortunately, the service has not met our expectations at all.
The back camera has never worked properly, and every time the power goes out, we have to reset the alarm, which is inconvenient. Recently, the alarm went off due to what ADT claimed was a battery issue with the glass break detector. They wanted to charge us $160 to come out and fix it, though we managed to resolve it ourselves for just $3.50. We also pay for a maintenance plan that hasn't covered these issues.
I also find ADT's customer service lacking. When discussing problems, they often claim high costs for simple fixes. It's not difficult to contact them, but the service I receive isn't satisfactory. We've used Frase Security before and were much happier with their service. We are considering switching back to them as we've been consistently dissatisfied with ADT's performance and reliability.
Overall, I would not recommend ADT. The maintenance plan has not covered any of our issues, and the general service has been unreliable and unsatisfactory.

I have been a customer of ADT Home Security for over 25 years. My overall experience with them has been satisfactory. The functionality and performance of the system are good, and their security response is reliable. However, I believe customer support could be improved.
There was an incident where the system showed three different codes indicating a low battery. ADT dispatched a technician from central Wisconsin to southern Wisconsin, a long drive, only to find that I needed a $2 battery for my remote. This issue could likely have been resolved over the phone, and better communication from tech support would be beneficial. It's important that tech support personnel can effectively communicate in English to assist customers in the United States.
Despite this, the system itself works as expected, and I am particularly fond of the remote control feature. In terms of my sense of security, I feel quite safe with the ADT system in place. Overall, I would recommend ADT and rate them highly for their services.

The system's functionality and performance have been satisfactory so far, though I'm aware there are upgrades that could improve it even more. Getting in touch with an agent isn't too difficult; they're always reachable.

I first heard about ADT Home Security through their television advertisements. I chose them because they were the only company I noticed at the time. My interactions with ADT representatives have been minimal but positive. On the few occasions my alarms went off, the support was understanding and helpful. The installation team has only visited my home twice — once for the initial setup and once to replace a motion detector, both times the service was satisfactory. I decided to go with ADT after trying a few companies like Brinks, mainly due to the cost. The system has been reliable for quite some time now, with only a few minor issues. One of my favorite features is that it allows us to set it to 'Away' or 'Stay,' and it doesn't get triggered by our pets, which was a problem with other systems. The customer service has been excellent, always responsive and helpful. They often resolve issues over the phone without needing to send a representative. My sense of security has improved, although their yard signs tend to fall apart and blow away. Nonetheless, we have window stickers declaring we are under surveillance, which adds to our peace of mind.

I've been an ADT Home Security customer for about six years, having previously used them before. Over the years, I've noticed a decline in their customer service. Initially, when an alarm would accidentally trip, I’d get a call immediately to ensure everything was alright. That doesn’t seem to happen anymore. It feels like they’ve shifted to using AI for customer support, which lacks the personal touch. I’ve kept the same equipment since I started, and they’ve never offered any upgrades, which is disappointing. In terms of pricing, I've realized recently that ADT is about twice as costly as other companies.

I purchased a new home and came across ADT through one of their promotions associated with home buying. I've been with ADT for about two months now and I'm very satisfied with their service package. Although the package included options for fire and carbon monoxide detectors, I prioritized selecting other items which were more important to me using the $500 bonus they offered.
The customer service has been extremely kind and supportive. I've dealt with two false alarms, and on one occasion when I was at work and unreachable, they successfully contacted my emergency contact. Regarding their app and system features, I find it convenient and user-friendly, though I haven't explored the tablet features extensively. There's a minor issue with my garage door alarm indicating it's open when it's actually closed, but overall, the system makes me feel safer at home.
ADT is a must-have for home security. It's wonderful, easy to use, and I definitely recommend having their system in homes.

I have purchased an ADT home security system about 30 days ago and I love everything about the system except for one item. I have a faulty door window sensor that I have asked them to replace. I had one tech appointment so far and we made a few changes to the sensor, which we thought may have fixed the problem, but the sensor continues to go off-line, even though it’s the closest one to the base. I have asked them again to replace it. They continue to refuse replacement and offer another tech appointment. If I purchased a brand new system less than 30 days ago, I’m not understanding why they cannot replace it under warranty and why I have to continue to go through tech appointments when clearly it’s not being fixed. One tech appt. was certainly enough if it couldn’t be fixed after the first tech appointment, it should be replaced.

I have been an ADT customer since 2004, over the years they have tried to raise the prices, etc but all was ok. My system was the older one which works with phone line, this year I discovered that my monitoring has not been working since Oct 2024, I brought to their attention and the rep gave me an credit of $35. I was okay with the small credit and to date, they never refunded me. I have their email confirmation of the refund but they don’t honor it and said they could not see it on their record! I canceled my acct and upgrade my system... and in the process discovered ADT was double of SimpliSafe! Never thought ADT was this dishonest and unprofessional. I am happy with Simplisafe and so far they are straightforward and less expensive on equipments and monitoring!

My smoke detector and then ADT alarm went off because of smoke from my broiler. I called ADT and spoke to Christine to have ADT contact the fire department to let them know it was a false alarm, which she did. She then walked me through the process of getting the alarm reset because, frankly, I was clueless. Christine was knowledgeable, polite, and infinitely patient and I am really pleased with the service I received.

I decided that I needed a security service and chose ADT because I knew it was a reliable company. The installation team was great and highly efficient. The features of my service package perfectly met my expectations, providing everything I needed without any extra additions. Although I might consider adding some features in the future, the current setup is sufficient.
A notable example of my experience with ADT services is when I recently had to replace a battery that wasn't functioning well. Through a Zoom call, the ADT team assisted me in replacing it and also helped fix an issue with something on my basement door, getting it back into working order.

Too bad I can't give zero stars. Stay away from this company. I had repeated instances of their system triggering an alarm for no reason in the middle of the night. I spent literally hours with customer service reps (many clearly overseas), onsite technician visits, and installation of new sensors. Bottom line problem continued to occur to the point I could not use the system and was forced to cancel and spend $2 grand for new system with another company. ADT's response: charging me an early termination fee because they had offered to send yet another technician out and I finally refused.
Read real customer reviews, not industry-captured magazine reviews, and you'll see the same pattern of gross incompetence and customer frustration. Also, if you take notice, ADT issues the same canned reply to all negative customer reviews as the one I'm sure will be posted in response to this message. There's no human involved and, I can assure you that if you follow up at the suggested e-mail address you will experience the same lousy customer service. There's a lot of good alarm companies out there, virtually all of which are less expensive. Use one of them.

My experience with ADT began when they took over from our previous security system provider. We had to do a complete equipment switch, but everything went smoothly with the installation; the installers were efficient and caused no issues. we had them replaced everything we had, so we were already familiar with how to operate the new system.
For those considering ADT, I'd say it's a good system for the price. However, my main complaint is the lack of follow-through concerning yard signs. I've requested a sign twice, but no one has ever responded or sent one.

I had a disappointing experience with ADT Home Security. Initially, I chose them because they offered the cheapest option. However, I already had Ring and they tried hard to sell their doorbell cam, but I didn't get that. Another thing is I previously worked in the department of defense security space and I found the sales representative to be lacking in knowledge. That also goes for the installers. Moreover, they disregarded my preferences regarding camera placement, insisting on incorrect positioning, like facing my neighbor's house instead of my own driveway where it would've faced my house and my front yard. I wound up having to take that camera down and now it's sitting here in my garage.
The installation process was disastrous, resulting in massive holes in my walls, and now only one of the two cameras I pay for is actually installed. Their customer service was equally frustrating. Despite being locked into a contract, they attempted to raise my rates, only backing down when I protested. They even said I had 30 days to protest the price, which was what I was doing at the time. Overall, I would not recommend ADT to anyone and if I could, I would rate them a zero. Right now, I'm waiting for the contract to end in October and then I'm not gonna renew that by any means.

I have been using ADT for several years, and I am very pleased with their services. I switched to ADT after seeing their signs around town and speaking with a local sales representative who was very sharp and didn't try to flimflam me. We had an honest conversation. When an installer came in and set us up, we encountered a bit of trouble with the initial setup, but ADT resolved the issue quickly.
Throughout the years, my interactions with ADT's installation team have mostly been positive, except for the first installer. The features included in our service package meet all our expectations. We have accidentally set off our alarm several times, and each time, ADT has been prompt in contacting us. On a few occasions, they've had to call the police out because I did not get the alarm turned off and they were in my driveway within minutes. I went to the door and said, "Hey, sorry about that. Yeah, we called." I've lived here for 32 years, so I know most of the guys around town. The local police said, "Yeah, we get it. They called us and told 10 down. We need to come in." I say, "That's all right. Everything's cool," but they say, "No, we'll have to come in." The local police were very thorough, prompt and took care of business.
We've also had a couple of issues such as broken window tabs, but these were successfully handled through virtual interactions with ADT. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service and have even recommended ADT at my workplace.
For customer service, product and coverage, sales and marketing, pricing, and online tools, I would rate ADT as a 5. Everything works as expected.

I've been an ADT Home Security customer for over ten years, primarily choosing them because I noticed lots of their signs around the neighborhood. Throughout my time with ADT, I've had minimal issues. The only technical hiccup I faced was a battery outage a few weeks ago and I had a hard time trying to figure out in the house which one it was, but it was resolved after their email assistance helped me identify the problem. I got a lot of emails wanting to know if everything was all right and I said it was.
The service features in my package meet my expectations well; I have not encountered any substantial issues such as break-ins or alarms caused by broken glass. The accidental alarms are mostly due to forgetting the door open or having low batteries. Overall, ADT provides me with a strong sense of security and peace of mind in my home.

We have tried cancelling our ADT since December 2023, and until now they are still charging us. Each time we call, the agent says it’s cancelled and we shouldn’t get charged anymore, but the charges keep coming. One manager even refunded us the amount they had taken out after our original cancel date in 2023. They are still taking money out. I cancelled them through my bank and now they sent us a past due bill. We called and the agent says we have to okay the past due amount to cancel. An amount that shouldn’t be there to begin with if they cancelled in 2023 like we asked. I don’t understand their process and I don’t understand why each agent is giving us misinformation. This is by far the worst service.

I've been a long-time customer of ADT Home Security. I initially switched to ADT from CenturyLink after an incident where my storage unit was broken into without the alarm going off. A neighbor recommended ADT, and their service has been outstanding.

The features of my service package have surpassed my expectations, especially compared to my previous provider. My two-story house feels secure, and everything functions as needed.
The only aspect I find puzzling is the equipment payment. I pay a monthly fee for the equipment, but there's a clause stating that if I switch companies, ADT retrieves it. I first heard about ADT through various advertisements and decided to work with them due to the positive experience I had with their service in a previous home. Since signing up with ADT in 2016, I have generally found the functionality of the system to be satisfactory. However, some newer equipment from other companies offers more up-to-date features, and upgrading my current system with ADT would be costly.
Contacting ADT representatives is quite easy, and apart from a few instances, the customer service has been satisfactory. My last interaction, however, was not pleasant. I ordered a battery over the phone, and despite confirming the order twice, I received the wrong battery. The process to obtain a full refund was lengthy and frustrating, taking about 20 minutes on the phone with the second representative.
Some of my favorite ADT features include 24/7 customer support and the company's long-standing presence in the industry. My overall experience with their customer service has generally been positive, notwithstanding occasional issues. I believe ADT could improve by offering existing customers like me a better pricing structure for equipment upgrades, given my long-term relationship with them.
If asked, I would emphasize ADT's longevity and reliable customer service to family and friends, although I would also mention the availability of more updated equipment from other providers. Overall, my sense of security with ADT is good, and I would rate them a 4 out of 5.

I've been a customer of ADT for a while now, although I did leave for a brief period due to issues in getting a technician to come out. Eventually, I returned to ADT, as the service overall wasn't bad, and I've found the equipment to be quite reliable since I've come back. I'm considering adding wireless cameras at my front and back doors, but I'm not certain if these can connect to the ADT Pulse app on my phone, which I currently use to manage the system.
In terms of customer service, I've had positive experiences with ADT's representatives. Once, when I was having trouble resetting my password on the app, a representative patiently walked me through the process and stayed on the line until everything was sorted out. As someone who's not very tech-savvy, I appreciated her help immensely. On another occasion, a technician came out to fix a latch problem on my door system. They replaced a broken part at no charge, which was a pleasant surprise.
As for their pricing, I pay around $59.99 monthly. I've seen other services offer lower rates, but the equipment compatibility and service reliability with ADT have kept me from switching, despite some initial issues with other providers. When I returned, ADT offered me some upgrades at no extra cost, including new motion cameras and a glass-break sensor in the living room.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with ADT. The app works well, despite my earlier password mishap, and the customer service is top-notch. I'd rate the app a 4 out of 5 due to my previous password issue, but customer service deserves a solid 5. The monthly cost seems fair given the service I receive, so I'd rate the value around a 4. As for the products installed, they're functioning perfectly, so I'd give them a 5. While replacing batteries can be slightly inconvenient, I've figured out how to manage it.

ADT was already installed when I bought my home, so I just took over what was there. Interaction with the sales representative and customer service at the start was fine, although I wasn't informed about the contract I was taking over. Recently, I found another security system I prefer but I'm stuck in a 5-year contract, which I've been in for less than a year now.
The service features meet my expectations to some extent. However, I occasionally face an issue where the driveway camera disconnects itself. To fix it, I have to unplug and then plug it back in for it to reboot and work again. It's usable once the issue is fixed, but unusable until then.
Another improvement that could be beneficial is more storage space for camera footage. My camera is frequently triggered by kids running around the neighborhood, leading to limited storage space. I rated the overall experience with ADT a 3 out of 5. Their customer service is decent, and the price is average. I appreciate the sensors that detect movements near the camera since I prefer not having blind spots.

I have been a customer of ADT for 25-30 years, which says a lot about how satisfied I am with their service. I originally decided to go with ADT because it was a popular choice among my neighbors and friends at the time, and since then, I've always felt that they keep my home safe. Over the years, I've interacted with their customer service and sales representatives occasionally, and they have always been polite and attentive. ADT has even come out to upgrade our system by updating the keypad and installing a smoke detector, which I appreciate.
There have been a few instances where the alarm was triggered accidentally, like when I or my son set it off unintentionally, but each time, ADT was very responsive and ensured everything was in order quickly. This gives me peace of mind as I know they are efficient at verifying emergencies.
Although I've had offers from other companies at lower prices, I remain with ADT because of the trust and satisfaction I have with them. However, I do find the pricing a bit expensive, and I may have to reconsider if it becomes unmanageable, especially now that I am managing expenses alone after losing my husband. I've been told that ADT might negotiate the pricing under specific circumstances, which I might explore if needed.
I have never had issues with their online tools or website, and I'm quite pleased with them as well. Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT as excellent, particularly for their security features and customer service, with the only slight downside being the cost.

I have had ADT for a while now. They came to our home, provided a quote, and installed everything smoothly. About a year ago, another company approached us with a more attractive offer. Considering the price difference, we contacted ADT to discuss our situation. They surprised us by offering to reduce our monthly rate to half, resulting in us paying only $30 a month, which we really appreciated.
In terms of functionality and performance, the system has been reliable. We haven't had any incidents requiring its use, such as a break-in, but we feel secure knowing it's there. The feature we value most is the ability to set the alarm at night, providing peace of mind that any break-in attempt would trigger an alert and prompt a quick response from the police.
I would rate ADT a solid 4 out of 5 stars. If I were to share my thoughts with a neighbor or family member, I'd mention the pricing and how well it meets our security needs.

I have been a customer of ADT since around 2007, and my experience with them has been very positive. Over the years, I have had interactions with their sales representatives and customer service teams, which I would describe as excellent. For instance, when I had an issue with some sensors, they promptly came out the next day to replace the batteries, which was extremely helpful as I was unwell at the time and unable to do it myself.
I have upgraded my service package from the old wired system to the newer, less hardwired WiFi-connected system about a year ago. This new package meets my expectations fully. Additionally, my experience with ADT whenever an alarm goes off, whether in an emergency or accidentally, has been very good.

I got an ADT security system due to previous break-ins, and I heard a lot about their services. I've had it for seven years, and initially, things worked fine. However, after my husband passed away, they messed up a service call. During the visit, they upgraded some sensors and replaced a box, resulting in a $1,300 charge I was told would be free by two different representatives. They later refused to waive this charge, which was frustrating as I couldn't afford it after losing a significant portion of income.
Functionality-wise, the system works great. I love knowing when doors are open, which gives me peace of mind since I live alone. This feature was also helpful when my husband, who had dementia, was with us. I could tell if he was going outside.
Regarding ADT's customer service, my interactions were frustrating. I was passed around to six different people on one call, asked the same questions repeatedly, and ultimately, no help was provided towards the charge issue. They appeared sympathetic but never followed through with assistance.
In rating them, I'd give a 5 for system performance as it has been reliable, but a 1 for the billing experience. I would recommend ADT because their system is good, but advise others to insist on getting promises in writing.

Everything has been running smoothly; the services were completed as scheduled, and there haven't been any billing issues. One thing that stands out is their life alert system. The security alarms work fine; they're installed on both windows and doors and function properly. A couple of years ago, a technician changed my system to a wireless one without my consent, which never worked properly. It took numerous appointments over six weeks to revert to my old system, but they lost wires in the process, leaving defective equipment in my home.
Even more frustrating was the billing issue. They billed me for both systems for nearly nine months without resolution, accruing interest charges. Though I didn't pay for the wireless one, they never reimbursed me for the inconvenience, nor did they compensate for the damages to my house when they installed unwanted equipment.
A recent issue involved a faulty contact sensor that kept triggering the alarm. Although I have a maintenance agreement, I was charged for a new sensor, which seemed unreasonable after agreeing only to a minimal service fee. Their customer service has made these issues feel like pulling teeth, with countless calls needed for each problem.
Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly negative, feeling trapped with them as other companies offer inferior service. I rate my experience as a 3 out of 5 and hope others have better experiences.

I have been a customer of ADT Home Security for many years, but my experience has been quite mixed. While there are numerous options available, I have stuck with ADT, not necessarily out of complete satisfaction but rather due to limited alternatives that I personally evaluated. One major issue is the difficulty in contacting their representatives. It's challenging to reach them, and I feel that ADT often manipulates the contract to suit their goals.
For instance, ADT used to send technicians to handle changes like switching batteries or fixing equipment, but now they expect customers to do it themselves. If you want a technician's help, there's a charge now, which was not part of my original agreement. Initially, the contract included technician support and battery supply, and now they have taken that away without proper notice. The features on my current package are minimal, offering just monitoring and not much else. I've had the system for about 20 years, and it's relatively satisfactory, but outdated.
The customer service I would rate around a 4 because the staff seems bound by company policies rather than being flexible. However, when it comes to pricing, I'd give a 1. Despite being a long-term customer, the prices keep increasing without prior notice, and I often have to call to get the charges reversed, which is quite frustrating.
As for making payments or using ADT's online resources, I find their website easy to navigate. However, given the recent challenges and my dissatisfaction with the overall direction ADT has taken, I might reconsider my loyalty.

I started using ADT when I moved into a home in 2012 that already had their system installed. Being recently widowed and living alone, I felt it was a good idea to activate it for peace of mind. My husband hadn't wanted a security system before, but moving to a new place changed things for me. I continued with ADT when I moved to a condo a year ago.
My experience with ADT has largely been positive in terms of reliability. Last month, I accidentally set off the alarm by entering the wrong code and was impressed by the quick response. The alarm went off, and shortly after, a lady officer came to my door, which reinforced my trust in their service.
However, I did encounter an issue with billing. My monthly bill unexpectedly increased from $48 to $51, and I hadn't been notified about this change. Even though a representative I spoke with insisted the cost hadn't increased, my bank statement showed otherwise. Since I'm on a fixed income, unexpected increases are concerning. I appreciate the service but hope the pricing remains stable. Despite this hiccup, overall, I'm pleased with the peace of mind ADT provides.

We've been using ADT for about a year and a half. Initially, we chose them due to their strong name recognition. The system performance is decent. The coverage for our house is solid, but we frequently encounter issues with the outbuildings. Often, when we call customer service, they suggest we dust the sensors or perform other maintenance tasks ourselves, which can be frustrating.
Interacting with ADT's customer service is a mixed experience. It usually involves a lengthy 15-minute call navigating through automated systems just to speak to someone. However, the representatives we've interacted with in person, like the last technician who visited, have been very helpful and informative.
One of the main drawbacks is the cost of service calls. Every time we need someone to come out, regardless of whether the issue is due to our fault or a product malfunction, there's a significant fee, which is over $100. This can add up quickly if multiple visits are required.
Overall, we'd give ADT a 3 out of 5, considering our satisfaction with the house system but not with the outbuildings. Improvements could be made in reducing service call fees and the system's sensitivity to elements like wind and dust.

I've been a customer of ADT for about seven years now, ever since I moved into my new home. Initially, there was a deal with the construction company, MI Homes, which led me to choose ADT. While I don't recall the representative's name, they weren't particularly assertive or engaging during the process.
Despite this, I've been satisfied with ADT because they offer a loyalty discount, which I appreciate and request annually. Recently, I signed another five-year contract as I have no plans to move. Although I have an older system, I haven't experienced any significant issues. While they offer newer equipment with modern features like a touchscreen, I don't feel it's necessary to pay extra since my current system functions adequately.
The main reason I remain with ADT is the annual loyalty discount, which I've found crucial in maintaining the service cost-effectively. I'd recommend ADT but suggest they should consider offering more modern equipment to clients who are using older systems.

I've had ADT for several years, and they've been very responsive. I don't have a very elaborate system and it's been the same when they installed from the beginning, but it works. I like it very much. It gives me the peace of mind of knowing that the home is secure when I'm home as well as when I'm away. There's an app that I can use to check on the system. Initially, I thought the app was a little wonky, but they've come through with quite a few upgrades. Any time that I had a problem with the app, they came through very quickly with recommendations and were able to adapt what I needed.
There were two technicians who came for the installation. They walked around the house and looked to give me information about where they thought things would be best placed. I felt very comfortable with their appraisal of what would keep my home most secure. They did a great job. In fact, I was looking at a particular placement in one way and they advised me and walked me through why they thought a different tact would be better. I felt very confident in the way that they pursued that.
From time to time, they contact and let me know if there's something new on the horizon or another way to pursue whatever I have and maybe advance to a different level if I want. But there's never a push. It's just giving me information around it, which is good. I would love the price point to be a little bit less though. I was looking to look at some other options to see if they were better as far as the price point was. But compared to some other options, it's in the higher range for where I am. That may just be the location. Other than that, it's very good. I would definitely suggest ADT.

I've been an ADT customer for a couple of years now. My interactions with their customer service and sales representatives have been just okay. One area of improvement could be including service in their offering, as I was used to my previous service provider handling equipment repairs at no additional cost if it failed.
I'm not fully satisfied with the automation features of ADT's system. I believe it could allow for more customization and enhanced automation compared to my previous system. For instance, the current system lacks flexibility in how I want it to function.
There was an instance where the alarm went off accidentally, and I appreciated receiving a text quickly that allowed me to either disregard or accept the alert.

I initially chose ADT because I considered them top-of-the-line and felt confident in their service. However, my recent interactions have changed my perspective. About six months ago, I encountered an issue with my system and reached out to ADT for support. It was frustrating as it took a while to get a response, and the guidance provided to fix the issue was unsuccessful. When they promised to escalate my case to the service department, I surprisingly received a call from the sales department instead, who were clueless about the issue and could not assist me. Eventually, I had to resolve the problem myself, which was not ideal.
The features of the ADT service package also did not meet my expectations. They lacked the capability to integrate with the pre-installed standard equipment in my home, which was necessary for seamless operation with my existing system. Given that this was a standard feature when I used to work in the business, I found this inability very disappointing. Currently, I only use ADT for their central station operation, specifically for a single smoke detector in my home.
Overall, due to these challenges and unmet expectations, I'm hesitant to recommend ADT Home Security to others.

I learned about ADT Home Security through television as it's well-recognized, and with the increasing crime in my area, opting for a reliable security system became important. We are retired and at home a lot, but since we’ve been moving around more recently, I wanted to ensure our home was covered while we're away.
The setup process with ADT was smooth and professional. Although it's been a while and I don't remember all the details, I recall the installers were very professional. They worked efficiently and even helped me decide where to place the equipment for optimal coverage.
The ADT representative was incredibly professional and nice, ensuring I understood how everything worked before leaving. I'm particularly impressed by the doorbell feature—it alerts us when someone is at our door. However, I was wondering if the alarm doesn't go off just from someone approaching the doorbell, which makes sense given the number of deliveries we receive.
We've never had to directly contact ADT support because everything has functioned seamlessly. We have a remote to manage the alarm when we accidentally trigger it, which has been convenient.

I recently began using ADT about a month and a half ago. My decision to go with them was influenced by the familiarity of their name, which I came across through D.R. Horton. My experience with their sales representative was very positive; they were professional throughout the process.
One aspect I didn't like was being required to provide my social security number. The installation process was smooth, and the service team was very professional. Given my limited knowledge of technology, their thorough guidance was appreciated.
My system is wireless, which I find satisfactory as long as it's secure from external interference. However, I'm not fond of having a camera inside the house, so I keep it covered unless I leave the house. The camera is meant to capture intruders if any incident happens inside.
In terms of customer service and the overall service quality, I would rate ADT a 5, considering it excellent. I am less familiar with the mobile app, so I rate its ease of use as a 3 while I continue to learn how to navigate it better.

I have been an ADT Home Security customer for quite some time and have had a generally positive experience. We switched to ADT after our previous company went out of business, and ADT was the only available option at the time.
Our installation went smoothly since everything was already set up by our previous provider. ADT seamlessly took over as our new alarm system dealer without requiring additional installations. The features of our service package have met our expectations without any issues.
One aspect I wish ADT would include is a program for regular equipment checks and updates. We've had the system for 20 years, and it would be reassuring to have the equipment reviewed periodically to ensure it's still effective and up-to-date. While I'm aware this might increase costs, it would provide additional peace of mind.

I've been with ADT for over 30 years, primarily because when I initially got my alarm system, they were the main provider available. Over the years, I've had to call on their installation team a few times for error messages on the keypad, and they've come out to fix the issues efficiently, even giving me tips on resolving them myself in the future.
A few years ago, I upgraded to a digital system with less wiring, which has been pretty satisfactory. However, I've had ongoing issues with the system indicating a loss of WiFi, even though my signal is strong and consistent. This issue hasn't been resolved despite multiple calls with ADT's support. They attributed it to my router, which I find hard to believe as it's relatively new and works perfectly with other devices.
The lack of a resolution from their technical support, who seemed to dismiss my concerns and wouldn't send a technician to fix the problem on-site, is disappointing. Despite this, the system functions well overall, and I receive positive monthly reports on its operation.
I haven’t had any false alarms or major incidents requiring ADT's emergency response, which might be due to the system's automated settings that turn on and off according to my schedule. Even though the persistent beeping from the alleged WiFi issue is annoying, it's not enough to disrupt the system's function.
My experience with ADT's products is generally good, and on a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate their product coverage at a 5. Customer service and pricing would each get a 4 due to the unresolved technical support issue and the fairness of the service cost, respectively. Even though I'm satisfied with most aspects of ADT, I'd like to see improvements in their technical support responsiveness.

I have been an ADT Home Security customer for a while, but my experience has not been positive, primarily because I was locked into a three-year agreement that I wasn't aware of when signing up. My financial situation has drastically changed due to a disability, and now, living on Social Security, I struggle to meet the payment obligations. Despite my request to be released from the contract early due to my circumstances, ADT was not flexible, although they did lower the price slightly, for which I am grateful.
As it stands, the security system is essentially non-functional for me because the cameras haven't worked in months, with both the doorbell and driveway camera failing to operate. Even though the representatives I've interacted with have been professional, they lacked empathy regarding my situation. The system worked well initially but eventually ceased functioning, which is disappointing given the investment I made when I was financially stable.
Regarding the ADT app, I found it convenient to use when the system was operational. However, the overall experience and the non-working products have led me to feel that the service is not worth the cost, especially now that my income is significantly reduced. If I were to rate my experience, it would unfortunately be on the lower end.

I first heard about ADT when I moved to a different state. Not knowing the area well, I decided to get a home security system. I chose ADT because it was a name I was familiar with. Most of the time, interacting with ADT representatives has been very helpful. When I had a concern, like when my fire alarm panel was beeping at 2 AM, I called them, and they patiently walked me through everything I needed to do. They provided good customer service and were very interested in correcting the problem promptly.
Contacting them wasn't difficult, which was a relief since the alarms can be quite nerve-wracking for me. For instance, after moving, I had painters set off the fire alarm during their work. I was unreachable because my phone was off, and ADT ended up calling the fire department twice. It was reassuring to know that they followed through when they couldn't reach me, even though it caused some embarrassment with the fire department.
While I don't use the security system all the time, living in a friendly neighborhood where people look out for each other, I do appreciate having it, especially when I'm away or in case of emergencies. It's good to know there's a panic button feature available if needed.
Overall, I'd rate ADT as highly reliable and dependable. I would certainly recommend them to a friend or neighbor.

When I bought this house, the builder had a contract with ADT and I have maintained it for the past 17 years. I work for an international security company and they did a background check on ADT and they recommended that I stay with them. So, I did. The package that we have meets everything that we need. I started at 22 and I'm currently 86, and I'm still a consultant for the same people and we're 1600 years old, and I've had no problem with ADT. One of my house guests went out a door that has an alarm and set it off. I put in the code and it took ADT a couple of minutes to figure out what was going on. They called me less than 15 minutes and I told them what it was.

I've been with ADT for over five years, and my overall experience has been very disappointing. The representatives didn’t do anything for me. Currently, I'm dealing with low battery issues on my motion sensors and door sensors, and despite paying $70+ a month, ADT wanted an additional $100-$200 to send someone out to fix it, which I refuse to pay. Consequently, my alarm system isn't functioning properly.
The installation process happened twice—once initially, and then an upgrade five years later. Though we considered adding the doorbell feature, our Wi-Fi wasn't compatible, which is fine as it's not necessary. A few years back, I paid for someone to come out, which seemed ridiculous given my monthly payments. ADT should have provided better service, considering my long-term patronage.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend ADT. I'd rather not endure the inconvenience of switching providers at my age—I'm 73—so I'm stuck. Plus, many neighbors use ADT, probably due to our initial signage. Frankly, it feels like I've put new business ADT's way.
Regarding customer service, I was never given any consideration as a long-term customer or a senior citizen. Nobody tried to accommodate my budget, and the price has increased over the years without improvement in service quality. The app is not user-friendly for someone like me who isn't tech-savvy. Overall, I rate them poorly and potential customers should not go with them.

I've also had the opportunity to have ADT come out for additional installations since the initial setup. Scheduling a time for them to come out and install new equipment has been smooth, with no issues whatsoever.
If a friend or family member were to ask me about my experience with ADT, I would definitely recommend their service. My experience with ADT has been quite positive. The security system was already installed when I purchased my home, and ADT representatives came out to explain how everything worked. The service they provided was clear and adequate, and I've been pleased with its performance for the past six years.
I haven't felt pressured to add any new components from ADT, and the existing package has served us well. While I have newer technologies like door locks, cameras, and detectors, they're not through ADT. However, the system has been efficient enough for our needs.
If a friend or family member asked for my opinion on ADT, I would confidently tell them that ADT has taken good care of us. We have had several interactions due to accidental alarms—like leaving doors open or forgetting to disarm while letting our dogs out—but ADT has always been prompt and efficient in their responses, following up to ensure everything was fine.
The pricing falls within our budget, which is excellent, and I find the in-home equipment, like the control panel, easy to use. Overall, I am very satisfied with ADT's service.

I decided to go with ADT many years ago when I was concerned about security due to the global situation, and they were the most prominent company at the time. I called them and they sent a representative to my house with the assumption that I'd sign up right away, even bringing the yard sign along.
The system itself seems reliable; it gives me confidence that the alarm will go off if anyone tampers with my house.
However, I'm dissatisfied with the overall service. For the money I pay, I expect more interaction or incentives but haven't received any. It feels like once you pay your bill, you're left on your own. I've considered canceling numerous times because the service doesn't quite meet my expectations, but the system reportedly works as needed, which is why I've continued so far. Overall, I'd rate my experience as satisfactory.

One of the main reasons I chose ADT over other companies is their competitive pricing. However, getting in touch with them can be quite challenging. It’s hard to speak to an actual person; everything is directed online, and I'm not very tech-savvy.
It's also expensive to replace the batteries.
Despite these issues, my service works flawlessly. All my devices, including fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, function properly. If a friend asked about my experience, I would recommend ADT.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been quite disappointing. Despite being a loyal customer for over 15 years, I've been facing significant issues. My home doesn't feel secure as the system fails to alert me when my garage door locks or my back door is left open. I've also encountered numerous problems with my cameras. Despite paying for repairs, they frequently malfunction after short periods.
The customer service has been frustrating. I'm denied access to my account unless someone else – supposedly my daughter – approves, despite me being the bill-payer. Errors with passcodes and having my personal account details altered without resolutions have left me feeling insecure.
Additionally, on one occasion, I was kept on hold for an unreasonable amount of time without my issue being resolved, which is again wasting my time and money. Due to these ongoing problems, I cannot in good faith recommend ADT to anyone. While years ago, I might have had a better opinion, my current rating would be very low. I'm not happy with ADT at all.

I recently moved into a new house in 2017 and wanted to transfer my previous security system. However, the company I was with couldn't keep an appointment, so I decided to switch to ADT. My experience with ADT's customer service has been good; they're responsive and helpful. Most of my equipment is working well, except for an indoor camera that was installed during the original system setup. ADT informed me last year that this camera is now obsolete and wouldn't work, and they didn't offer a substitute, which was disappointing.
Although I appreciate the customer service and the overall functionality of the system, I must say that the pricing is terrible. If I were to rate my experience, I'd give ADT a 4 out of 5 due to the equipment issue and high price. Additionally, accessing the alarm system through their phone app has been challenging, as I cannot get it to work properly. That aspect would only receive a 1 out of 5 from me.

I worked with the ADT sales rep who was very good, thorough, and informative. The installation process was perfect and went very smoothly. I've had the system for over a year now and I'm pleased with the features. ADT is very responsive; if there's ever a problem, they handle it promptly and professionally. I recently had an installation with ADT, and overall, my experience has been very positive. When I first got in touch with their rep to set up the service, they were very helpful and straightforward. The installation team was also excellent; they were informative and did a great job setting everything up.
I am currently experiencing a minor issue with connecting my new phone to the system's app, but I'm working on resolving that with the company.
Functionality-wise, everything is working smoothly, and I particularly appreciate the capability to view live footage and review past recordings, which is definitely a favorite feature of mine. I find the presence of cameras to be a strong deterrent to any unwelcome activity. ADT offers a great little system.

I have been a loyal ADT customer for decades. The primary reason I've continued with their service for so long is simply that it works. The customer service has always been quite good. Whenever there's an alarm, they respond rapidly, and when it comes to billing queries, they're responsive too. What stands out is their customer service staff, who seem empowered to make decisions.
As for my package, I'm generally satisfied. Even though my system has been around for a while and may not have all the latest features, it still meets my needs. In a nutshell, I would describe ADT as providing good service at a probably reasonable price.
However, I have some concerns, particularly with price increases, which feel a bit too aggressive. I've managed large service organizations, and I believe I'm paying more for the same service. The keypad we use is old, and I'm anxious that when it fails, I'll be expected to buy a new one. This would likely prompt me to switch services as the cost of the keypad has been recouped many times over through our long-standing subscription. Overall, I worry about being left behind technologically as ADT evolves its systems.

My experience with ADT has been quite reassuring, especially with all the crime happening in my area. Living alone can be concerning, but having ADT makes me feel safer. The customer service is very accessible; it's easy to reach a representative whenever I have questions. However, I've encountered issues with the system beeping when the power goes off and then back on. It was quite frustrating as it took two hours with a rep to figure out how to stop it. The rep was patient and kind.

Initially, the installation process and the contact with the reps of ATD were fine, but I haven't heard from them in over three years since then. I find the service to be overpriced for what it is, and there haven't been any significant incidents requiring its use. The camera doesn't work most of the time, but it could be due to internet issues, so I don't entirely blame them.
Overall, I would rate ADT a 3 out of 5.

I've been a customer with ADT for over three years. I initially discovered them because my neighbors had it, and I've been very satisfied since. The ADT sales reps and customer service team have always been knowledgeable, polite, and easy to work with.
When it comes to the system's features, they have met my expectations well. I did test the alarm when I first got it to ensure I could operate it properly, and it worked just fine without any subsequent problems. In terms of pricing, it was fair. But now that I'm on fixed income, I've had it reduced.

I have been using ADT for over 25 years since moving into my home. Initially, my insurance company worked with ADT, and we received a special rate when we signed up, although the pricing has changed over the years with system upgrades. Unfortunately, my experience with ADT sales reps has not always been positive. A rep once attempted to sell me unnecessary equipment, claiming my unit was outdated and proposed a $3000 upgrade. I reported this issue to ADT.
On the other hand, my experiences with the installation teams over the years have been great. In terms of ADT's features, they generally meet my expectations. For instance, there was an occasion when the system battery went dead, causing issues with the alarm. ADT's support spent nearly an hour on the phone with my husband to resolve the problem. Additionally, the alarm has only gone off once in all these years, and ADT promptly called within minutes to check on us.
Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT Home Security as a 4 out of 5.

My experience with ADT has been wonderful. Back in the summer, I had a situation where my smoke detector went off due to some burnt cooking, and ADT promptly contacted me. They were ready to send out the fire truck, although fortunately, there was no real fire. It was impressive how quickly they took care of everything even though I wasn't home at the time.
The system's functionality is excellent. Occasionally, I need to adjust the settings related to animals to prevent unnecessary camera triggers, but that's manageable.
Reaching an actual person at ADT is not difficult. I've had to call them a couple of times, and the hold time was less than five minutes. I would highly recommend ADT to friends and family.

We decided to consider ADT services after someone broke into our home, taking a few movie discs. Initially, our interaction with the sales representative was pleasant, and we didn't feel cheated at all. The representative thoroughly explained the items in our package.
The installation experience was also positive. The technician was very personable and completed the setup efficiently, taking about an hour. We chatted and joked as he installed the sensors throughout the house. Since then, the service features have met our expectations, even though we haven't needed to upgrade or add anything.
An instance that stands out was when I forgot to turn off the system one morning. The alarm went off as soon as my wife opened the door, proving that it still works effectively. We were able to turn it off quickly, so there was no follow-up call from ADT.
Overall, we are satisfied with ADT's services and enjoy doing business with them. In terms of ratings, I'd give ADT a 5 for customer service, security features, the sales process, pricing, and their online tools. I was referred to ADT by someone years ago. I decided to stick with them because it was easier to transfer my service from my house to my apartment. However, I've faced issues with their billing system. Despite requesting to have all ADT services on a single bill several times, I continue to receive separate bills or automatic deductions, which has been a nuisance.
Regarding installation, I don't remember much, but the installers didn't walk me through the setup as they were supposed to. They just left some reading material, and when I called for assistance to properly set up the emergency alerts, the representative couldn't help, so I eventually gave up on that part. Despite this, I can use the basic alarm system, and it seems to function fine. My service package also includes a medical alert feature.
If someone asked, I would describe my experience with ADT as fair. Overall, I rate my experience as a 3 out of 5. For customer service interactions, I would give a rating of 2. Regarding pricing, I find their services expensive and would rate them a 2 in that category. I don't really use their online services or apps, so I can't rate those.

I genuinely appreciate how straightforward the system is. If I have any queries, I simply pick up the phone, and they are always attentive and helpful.
Regarding its performance, I can attest that it works effectively. I tend to accidentally set it off about once a week because I forget to turn it off before stepping out through the front or back door, or the garage. There was even a time when I was making hot dogs, and the steam set off the smoke alarm, prompting the fire department to arrive.

I've been a customer of ADT since 2002 when I moved into my home. I appreciate their quick response when the alarm goes off, which has been reliable on several occasions. However, I'm currently dissatisfied because I've reached out twice about upgrading my outdated equipment without receiving a reasonable offer. Despite my long-term loyalty, it seems new customers receive better deals than existing ones. Consequently, I've started researching other companies for better offers.
The need for an upgrade is pressing because my current system is over 20 years old. My keypad, for instance, is becoming unreliable, and ADT quoted me over $200 for a replacement, which I believe should be complimentary as part of loyal customer service. Recently, the siren went off due to a faulty door connection rather than a break-in, highlighting the issues with the old system. While ADT is supposed to send new parts, I find myself having to act as the technician.
If I were to rate ADT, I'd give them 3.5 stars overall. The customer service is satisfactory, but the products, while functioning, are outdated. I'd rate the equipment a 4 out of 5 because it functions, even though I've had issues with door sensors. The monthly pricing also deserves a 4, as their monitoring is prompt.

I first heard about ADT from my parents, who used it for our house when I was growing up. When I moved into my current home, the previous owners already had ADT installed, so I decided to continue with the service. I've been using ADT for over two years now, and I have no complaints. Their responsiveness has been great whenever the alarm went off.
Getting in contact with an ADT agent has been easy. I only needed to reach out once due to an issue with a sensor. I'm extremely dissatisfied with ADT. From day one, my experience has been frustrating, especially with their installation process. They were supposed to install cameras but the service was terrible. I initially contracted with a company called Ackerman Securities for my home security system. However, ADT took over Ackerman, and that's where my experience with them began. My previous system was not compatible with ADT's technology, resulting in a lot of issues. When I called for service, a representative informed me that the equipment, including cameras, was incompatible with ADT's setup. This was quite frustrating because I was stuck under a contract with equipment that didn't work properly.
ADT offered a reasonable payment adjustment, reducing my monthly fee to a minimal amount until my contract ends, which is in March. Although I haven't been able to use the system, I appreciate their effort in trying to address the issue, even if they couldn't resolve it. The customer service I interacted with was attentive and tried their best to help, so I would rate them a 5 in terms of service quality. However, I am still disappointed because I'm paying for a system that doesn't work, which is why I'd rate my overall experience lower. I initially learned about ADT through my workplace, as we have their services there. Seeking peace of mind was the main reason for getting it for my home as well. Unfortunately, my experience with ADT has not been the best, mainly due to issues with the outdoor camera. It frequently stops recording events on its own, and when I reach out for support, I'm often advised to simply unplug and plug it back in, which isn't always convenient, especially when I'm away from home. This issue has persisted, as the camera has never consistently worked for more than a month.
Despite these issues, I do appreciate the camera when it functions properly and use it a lot. Oddly, sometimes it's recording, but I can't view it live on my phone, though the recordings appear in the log later. Customer service representatives have been friendly, but I feel the follow-up on complaints is lacking. I've submitted reports without receiving follow-up calls.
Regarding pricing, I find it reasonable, likely giving it a 4 out of 5. I would caution friends and family about the camera system but commend the remote thermostat control feature, which I find very useful. I've been using ADT for over 30 years, and overall, my experience with their home security systems has been positive. Recently, we've had a few technical issues, particularly with the power supply to the alarm box at our farm, which required some troubleshooting. Although it initially took some time to get through the usual phone diagnostics and convince the representative to send a technician, once they did, the service was commendable. The technician was prompt and knowledgeable, resolving the issue quickly despite the remote location of our farm.

I initially ended up with ADT Home Security due to a renewal from a previous company they took over. My experience with them has been quite frustrating. Despite requesting monitoring certificates multiple times, I have yet to receive any. The service they've provided has been virtually non-existent, yet they continue to charge me around $71 a month. I am seriously considering canceling and looking for another provider.
The features I have are outdated, as they are from about five years ago. ADT has not provided any new service or updates. Getting in touch with a representative is incredibly difficult, perhaps even harder than reaching a high-profile person like President Trump.
I am very dissatisfied with their service, so much so that I am contemplating purchasing my own protection system. The only reason I initially kept this service was because my wife wanted a security system, but it's become evident that I could protect my family better without this ineffective monitoring system.

I've been a customer of ADT Home Security for a long time because it gives me a sense of security, but my experience has been frustrating recently. While it's not difficult to contact customer service, I often get passed around without clear answers. The main issue is my outdated system, which doesn't work properly. Despite being told there are no parts available for it, ADT has never offered an upgrade unless I'm willing to spend thousands, which I can't afford. Even though I've been told my previous system wouldn't work due to signal issues, and ADT updated it years ago, they still can't seem to provide a long-term solution. I've been using ADT for my home security system, and I must say I'm very satisfied. After moving into my place in Abbotstown, I quickly chose ADT for security. The installation process was smooth, and the technician was very helpful, setting everything up, including my cell phone integration. The convenience of managing everything via my phone is fantastic. Even during a mishap in my kitchen, when I accidentally triggered the alarm, ADT's response was prompt, checking if I needed assistance.

After closing on our house, we were directed to use ADT due to their partnership with the developer. The sales representative was very friendly and personable, and we ended up having new equipment installed since it was a new build. I've been with ADT for at least 10 years. I chose ADT because they were one of the more common security providers. My last interaction with a representative was last year, when I had a camera malfunction. The service was satisfactory, but I understand that they're gonna be charging for coming out now and I'm not gonna hang around if they start doing that. I'm on a fixed income now, so I can't afford that.
Regarding my service package, it's been fine, though it doesn't have newer features like audio communication through the cameras. If someone asked about my experience, I'd share exactly what I mentioned here. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 3 out of 5. The customer service has been good, deserving a 4 out of 5.

I have been using ADT Home Security for almost 12 years. I initially chose ADT because it was the only provider I knew. I started with ADT in New Jersey, then I moved to Dallas. My experience with the Dallas sales representative was not that great.
When I moved, the house was already wired for ADT, and the installers did walk me through the setup, which was helpful. However, I would not recommend ADT to a friend based on my current experience. The main issue is the lack of effective remote problem-solving, which is why I decided to discontinue the service with ADT. When someone tries to do everything remote without understanding what the problem is, it's not going to work. I had two panels that weren't communicating with each other. Despite multiple remote support calls and visits from technicians, the problem persisted.
When I called ADT to discontinue the service, they told me I can get the same plan I had for $14 a month. I was paying $480 a year, so I was paying about $300 more. The person I talked to said, "You have to call to find out whether there is a cheaper plan or not." For almost 11.5 years, no one informed me of cheaper plan options, which felt like they were exploiting my lack of awareness. This experience was quite frustrating.
ADT should improve their service and inform customers about available plans they can switch to,, much like cell phone companies do.

I have been using ADT Home Security for years, even back when I lived in another state. My interactions with ADT representatives have always been professional, and I haven't encountered any problems. It's quite easy to contact an actual person, as I prefer speaking to a live operator rather than using a computer. In terms of knowledge and professionalism, it has been satisfactory.
As for the system's functionality and performance, while no system is perfect, ADT's is as good as it can be. I first became aware of ADT when we bought a house that already had an ADT alarm system installed, so we decided to continue the service. My experience with ADT has been trouble-free. The system works great, and I haven't encountered any issues with it.

I had this system over 10 years from previously owner when purchased a house. System was not updated. Last 2 years many problem comes out. They changed two motion detectors. After - panel. Then switched receiver. One of the motion detectors they changed 3 times!!! Really annoying. Today changed, tomorrow sound again. Employee did not come to appointment. But instead call for "virtual "appointment!!! Supervisor was not friendly at all. Then I say I will switch company after 10 years, he was ok.... To the end... NOT RECOMMENDED ADT.

I would submit this review as 0 stars if I had that choice. Just want to share that ADT has been such a disappointment. We ordered a doorbell camera and the person dropped the ball. From that point on it was a nightmare. We cancelled the contract, or so we thought (and were told by the person at ADT). We have been lied to by many of the people at ADT. We decided to cancel our account since we were told we were month to month. Come to find out they did not cancel the contract and refuse to honor our cancellation. So now we are stuck with this company for 36 months. We asked at least 4 times to be contacted by a supervisor, that never happened. Never expect to have anyone follow up as they say. To be fair, there are people that we spoke with that were very helpful and pleasant, kudos to them for their Customer Service. I do not recommend ADT, do your research and find another company.

What an unbelievable disappointment. For some background information, I used to work for one of ADT's authorized equipment dealers about 6 years ago, so I thought I had some familiarity with the process. Boy, was I in for a surprise. For starters, in the first month we accidentally opened the door about 3 times with the system on, triggering the main alarm (not an entry delay). One time the alarm remained on for about 10 whole seconds. We never received a phone call. I let it slide thinking maybe we turned it off quickly enough. The real issue began when we got new windows about 2 1/2 months after getting our system installed. We had to remove our window sensors and proceeded to arm our system with the window sensors off, ensuring the magnet connection. One night, our alarm went off at 4 am awaking me, my wife and my kids.
It went on for about 2 minutes before I got downstairs to disarm it (baseball bat in hand) and saw on the app that the alarm was tripped by "Kitchen Window Tamper". The kitchen window was uninstalled at the time which I knew so I wasn't worried. ADT, however, did not know my sensors were down, and yet still they did not call. Later on when I called to report this issue, they told me that they don't call when they receive a tamper signal because "it could be a bird flying into the window". I said ya, or it could have been a criminal trying to break the window. I called about 5 times trying to reach a supervisor, was constantly promised a call back, never received one.
I asked to have a technician come out and hang my sensors up again, and they said it would be a $99 trip charge because my warranty only lasted 90 days. So I sat on it for 2 more months til I finally decided to bite the bullet and pay the $99 to have my sensors reinstalled since we are stuck paying for this we may as well call them. Just got off the phone with them and they told me that in addition to the $99 trip charge, the labor is $130 for the first 30 minutes and then $34 every 15 minutes after. So an hour's trip would cost me $300 just to have a guy come out and hang up 7 sensors. WHAT A RIPOFF. Wish I had done my homework beforehand and read some reviews. Don't make my mistake. Avoid ADT.

I should have realized from the time I signed up that this company is not consumer friendly. Upon activation they refused to send someone to activate the account. They had me on the phone for an hour going from window to window. If a service technician came to my home, it could have been activated in a fraction of the time.
After several months, and false alarms and devices not functioning properly (for example: one device, system said the battery was low. I replaced it. Still said it was low. I bought another one. Still getting the error message). I requested a service technician come out to fix the issues that were occurring since Day 1. They wanted to charge me a fee. I declined. Knowing that keeping a customer is not a priority, I canceled my account.
Unfortunately the contract I had signed was for a year. So they are charging me a hefty disconnection fee (which again did not require a technician to come to my home). Even so the system is faulty, they refused to waive the disconnection fee. While attempting to have them 'forgive' the early termination fee, I removed my credit card from their system. Days later they made an UNAUTHORIZED charge to my credit card (which has since been disputed).
Since they could not be trusted with my credit card, I mailed a check for partial payment. Their system uses ACH to cash checks, which means my bank does not get a canceled copy. I contacted them and requested I pay the balance due with a check ONLY if I get a copy back from my bank. ADT refused. As a result, I have an unpaid balance, which will remain unless they come up with a mutually agreeable way to make the final payment.

-5 star! The worst company and the worst customer service ever. I regret that I gave them money for past three years. Do yourself a favor and stay away from ADT, go find something else better. They never tried to help. They always go against you.
