    When I moved, a company from the local area got in touch with me. They came with an email with a bunch of different advertisements for the services in the neighborhood that people generally get when they move in. I didn't consider other providers because the email made everything convenient. The sales representative was excellent, staying in touch throughout the process, even though it was a while before we moved in. She called me back and continued to make sure that everything was okay with everything I was doing, then once we settled in, she was readily available to assist and guided me through the process quickly.

    The installation was smooth, thanks to the technician who was very helpful and showed us how to use the system thoroughly. The service package perfectly meets my expectations. I have all the safety features I need, including fire and carbon monoxide detectors, and monitoring for windows and doors.

    Fortunately, I haven't needed to use the system in an emergency so far. However, I feel very secure with the setup. The app is also very user-friendly, complementing the ease of using their products. While I gave customer service, the product itself, and their app five stars, I rate the pricing a four because, like everything else, it could be more affordable.

    Overall, ADT was great, and I have been recommending it to other people.

    I've been with ADT for over 10 years, and my experience has not been the best. The customer service is lacking; I've had to take multiple days off work waiting for technicians to show up. My system's outdated and I don't use it anymore, so I want to get rid of it. They gave me a bunch of upgrades to stay, including some cameras, then they extended my contract for three years, which I didn't want. Now, I'm stuck in the contract and I’m not too pleased. I don't even use the system. They did try to compensate by adjusting my bill, but it's been frustrating overall.

    For those considering ADT, my advice would be to thoroughly understand the terms before committing. Rating my experience overall, I would give ADT a 3 out of 5. Specifically, I would also rate customer service quality and pricing as a 3, and the ease of using their system via app or keypad as a 4.

    I decided to go with ADT because their technology seemed more advanced than other options. I heard about them through a TV advertisement and my experience with their representative was outstanding; they were very professional, knowledgeable, and nice. I am thoroughly impressed with the functionality and performance of the system. For instance, if the alarm is on and someone opens the door, it immediately goes off, which I found to be very effective.

    My favorite feature is the mobile app, which allows me to check if my doors are locked and even arm the system remotely while I'm at work or at home. This feature gives me great peace of mind. I've already recommended ADT to many friends because of their reliable service.

    I feel very secure in my home knowing the system alerts me if someone tries to enter through doors or windows, providing me time to react. I believe, especially nowadays, having such protection is essential, and ADT is the best choice for that peace of mind. This is what I told my daughter as well.

    I've had ADT for about 10 years and a year and a half ago, I decided to inquire about some upgrade programs. I spoke with a representative who explained everything to me and assured me multiple times that my monthly bill wouldn't change. I paid a $99 fee to enter the program but confirmed again about any rate increase. It was only after I got in the program that she revealed my monthly rate would increase by around $50 or $60. I asked to back out and wanted my $99 back. She said I had to follow a certain procedure, and despite writing a couple of letters, I never got a refund.

    I didn't change anything in my setup and received no new equipment. Interacting with the representative was unpleasant as she clearly misled me. Due to this experience, my satisfaction with ADT at this point is extremely low.

    ADT acquired Brinks Home Security, which I initially had, and I became an ADT customer. Overall, my experience has been satisfactory, although I've encountered an issue with the doorbell camera. It doesn't perform well in cold weather compared to the Ring camera I previously had, which I found to work better. Unfortunately, the Ring is no longer available to me.

    As for the pricing, it started off as reasonable, but given the current economic climate where everything has become expensive, it's challenging to determine the relative value. There's a lot to be said about how costs have risen across the board, so I'd rate the pricing as a 3 out of 5. On the whole, I would rate ADT products at a 4 out of 5, considering the service meets my needs despite the camera issue.

    We faced issues with our ring bell a long time ago. It wasn't working properly, and despite having ADT’s technician visit us about a year or two ago, he couldn't fix the issue immediately because he lacked the necessary parts in stock. Although he replaced the device a few days later, the problem persists to this day.

    The ring bell miraculously works on some days but not consistently. This unreliability is a major concern because, given the package thefts happening in our neighborhood, the security system is crucial for monitoring deliveries from Amazon, FedEx, or UPS. Fortunately, we haven't faced any theft issues yet, unlike our neighbors, but having a functioning system is vital.

    We are paying for this service, but it's not living up to its purpose. We are not happy with it. I haven't received any follow-up from ADT despite leaving messages by phone and email. I'm seriously considering switching to another company due to the lack of reliable service and support.

    I purchased my new home in 2021. I entered into a 60-month contract with ADT because it was more comprehensive and it was their more affordable option, or at least., I thought. I financed the equipment, which added $12 to my monthly plan of 70.89. I was 3 years and 4 months into the contract before my mother was diagnosed with advanced cancer, I moved back home, and became her primary caretaker. I maintained service until a tenant moved into my home and I immediately cancelled service. The company charged me the remaining equipment balance of $211, seemed fair, but I have no use for it.

    In addition, there was no option to return the equipment. I was later billed for a cancellation cost of $950. A couple of representatives indicated that I could avoid the fees by moving services to my mother’s home, or soliciting the new tenant to use ADT services. It was clear that ADT was more concerned with maximizing profit, by all means necessary. In conclusion, be aware of ADT's long commitment period, exorbitant fees, and unscrupulous business tactics to make money.

    A friend had ADT's security system and she had a setup that I liked, which led me to choose them over other providers. When the installation was done at my home, the installer was very knowledgeable about the items and their features. However, I've encountered several issues with my service. The garage opener and front doorbell camera frequently go offline, which is frustrating. The doorbell also makes a continuous ringing noise that sometimes lasts for hours or even days.

    While the coverage itself is satisfactory, the operational problems have been disappointing. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate my overall experience with ADT as a 2 due to non-functioning elements. The pricing also falls short because of these issues, but I can at least control the heating and cooling in my home, despite several other inconsistencies, thru the app. In summary, my experience with ADT hasn't met the quality expectations I had for such a reputable company, especially after being a customer for nearly five years.

    An ADT salesperson approached me outside, mentioning that I could receive the equipment for free. Initially, everything seemed fine, and the representative appeared knowledgeable until we discussed the details. He misled me about the 36-month contract. I realized later that I was locked into a three-year commitment, which I was not comfortable with, given my fixed income. When I brought this up with ADT, they claimed I hadn't asked about the 36 months. However, I clearly remembered questioning it, but their staff on the call decided to remain silent instead of clarifying the situation. This dishonesty was frustrating, and if I were aware of the contract's terms initially, I wouldn't have proceeded with the service.

    As for the ADT system itself, I got it with the hope that it would provide assistance while doing outdoor tasks, like yard work. But it turns out the system is ineffective if I'm not near it, making it redundant for my needs. Additionally, as a retiree from the prison system, arming the alarm system felt like being confined again. It made me uncomfortable, and the thought of it going off unintentionally was stressful, so I stopped using it. My advice to others would be to thoroughly read the fine print before signing any contracts to avoid unexpected commitments. Contracts should be explained clearly, highlighting critical paragraphs, so no one is caught unaware. The focus should be on honest communication rather than just making a sale.

    I had worked at a company that had ADT before and I knew we had good service with ADT. So, I looked them up and I called them. The lady that I talked to was super nice and very informative. I really felt like I was getting a good product when I talked to her. I had three different technicians here at my house for the installation. One of them was very good. He installed the sensors. They didn't bring all of my parts when they came the first day. They didn't bring the motion detectors and they were going to have to come back.

    The deal that I had said that I would get two Ring doorbell cameras and they did not install those. They said they didn't know. I copied it off of Facebook and have got it in my file, but they said they didn't recognize that advertisement. The second guy, Brandon, was very nice. The third guy was Frank. I left it with ADT that I would not want Frank back in my home. He came down to install my motion detectors. He installed them upside down, and he's a 25-year veteran.

    I love my system. I'm not safe in my home yet. It doesn't work totally to keep out my stalker, but my ADT system is good. I had Protect America for 11 years before, and then I did the boy packed that system and the people at Protect America said there wasn't anything they could do about it. He was retrieving the signal from outer space and they couldn't control it. I said, "Okay." So, that's why I went to ADT. I feel more safe at home. I know more about what's going on when I'm gone. Now that they finally have installed everything correctly and they have recalibrated my keypad on the wall, it works great now. It's keeping up with every action that's taken on my system. It's hooked to my phone, and that's doing good.

    The sale person came out to my house and sold me 2 camera and 1 doorbell camera but the camera doesn’t work until the person is gone. I call them back to come out to my house and check the cameras. They said it will be a service charge. I said no way am going to pay a service call on a new system so I said am not paying ADT breach of contract. When my contract was over now they turn off my system that I paid 70.00 dollars a month for 3 years. My contract is over now they want me to pay another 80.00 to keep my system working. Stay away from the company. They is a big rip off. Stay away, stay away, stay away

    I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the way I have been treated as a long-time ADT customer. After four years of loyalty, I am shocked by the poor customer service and the unfair charges imposed on me. Recently, my internet went down for a few hours, and when it was restored, my security camera stopped working. ADT replaced the camera, but without my authorization, I was charged an outrageous $522. This charge is completely unfair, and I was neither informed nor given an option to refuse it.

    When I contacted customer service to resolve this issue, I was repeatedly transferred between departments without receiving a proper solution. The representatives were unhelpful, and my problem remained unresolved. It is incredibly frustrating to experience such poor service, especially when I have been a loyal customer for years.

    I do not have the means to pay this unjustified charge, and I find it unacceptable that I cannot return the camera. ADT’s lack of transparency and disregard for its customers is disappointing, and I would like a resolution to this issue immediately. I expect a prompt response and a fair resolution. If this matter is not addressed, I will be forced to escalate my complaint to consumer protection agencies and share my experience publicly.

    I received an installation this past Friday. I was charged 6x the amount discussed in my plan. When I originally saw the hundreds of dollars taken out of my account I was floored. I have spoken to over 8 different people from account management to billing and Its never ending. Every time I ask for a manager or an escalation, I am told that no one is available. I am currently on the phone with customer service, Ms. Lawanda J. and she should be the manager as she has been very effective in finding a solution. I was charged 100.00 each for (3) glass break sensors that I specifically told the installer that I did not want. I have been with ADT 14 years and today I am literally disgusted with the lack of knowledge of some of the employees with this company as well as the installer.

    Just as I was thinking about canceling my account with ADT because I barely use it, I got a call at work telling me my carbon monoxide detector was going off from ADT. I had a leak due to the fact my furnace needed to be cleaned out. Fire department was sent out. Thankfully my cats were fine. Completely changed my mind about canceling it.

    I spoke to ADT multiple times over past 6 weeks and I have been told different answers from everyone. I had an account open for almost two years and when I moved I was told I can continue to make payments on my account month to month which I had no issues with. Without communication they charged 1200 dollars 3 months after I moved with intention of charging 2300 more later that month. I called and was told I had to pay off full balance because new home owners took on ADT and two accounts can’t be opened in same address. I was told over past 3 months I would have no issues but randomly now there is.

    I called in and the sales manager said I can get refunded the 1200 for equipment and work with collections to pay it monthly. The other 2300 was for service contract and they will waive since someone else took it over. If I never called they would have taken in even though they don’t need to with someone else on account address now. I received no communication and just charged. Then received refund in account as discussed. Two days later 1200 charged again.

    Told they can’t refund money and again not communicating at all that this will happen. Collections told me to contact corporate but no response for last few weeks since sent. Asked to talk to someone in corporate and no way to call someone. Every time I called ADT I get transferred 10 times and get cut off by every employee. No Customer service training there and they don’t care about customers.

    This is the worst home security monitoring company imaginable. I paid over $3,300.00 and the system has not worked since it was installed over 2 months ago. They have consistently delayed refunding me money. They are in breach of their contract and are putting my family at risk with no security. Don’t try to reach them for an emergency. You only get a voicemail with a 5-15 minute wait time or told to go to their web site. Leave a voicemail and they never call you back.

    I've been an ADT customer for decades. I recently moved to a new home, which has a one year monitoring service through another company. Because I was not continuing with ADT, they are enforcing their contractual right to have me pay the unamortized "equipment cost" from my last home which is still more than $500 after 3.5 years. If you decide to use ADT, be very careful about how much "equipment cost" you agree to let them capitalize into your contract. They inflate the cost of the equipment significantly, compared to the market price for security equipment and they will not budge on waiving any portion of the unamortized balance if you terminate before the end of your contract period (5 years in my case). So, I am paying it, but I will absolutely never have ADT near my home or business again. A customer for decades, but a customer no more.

    I have been a customer for approximately 4 years and as time goes on the service and quality has progressively declined. When I first purchased my system, it was great but recently they are not even calling if an alarm is showing on the main screen. I attempted to call to fix the problem, and they are not helpful. I have had alarms on the panel and have not received any notification from this company. I no longer even turn on the alarm at night. It certainly doesn't make me feel safer I find lately it is a waste of money. I would not recommend this company as customer service and tech support has declined significantly in the past year.

    I have had ADT for many years. Had a few issues, but this year they increased. I had a technician scheduled, didn't show up because he was never scheduled, as I later found out. I asked for the technician Brandon, who did great work and provides great customer service, again another scheduled time for him... Same thing occurred. Spoke to a manager, Marcus in Boca Raton, who definitely requires more customer service training. Spoke over me and was rude. After this occurred more than once (conversations with Marcus), my cost per month for service was increased. Retaliation? I have read many reviews on other review sites, mainly about the lack of customer service from the phone numbers to call online. Marcus won't share who is his supervisor!? Do I need to buy ADT stock to be heard and treated with respect? I gave 2 stars for Marcus, but the technician Brandon would receive 5.

    I've been an ADT (formerly Protection 1) customer for over a decade. In April of 2024, ADT lost the ability to monitor my system. This basically means that although I was paying for monitoring services, ADT could not and did not monitor my system. In February of 2025, my alarm went off in the middle of the night, and ADT did not call me or dispatch law enforcement. The next day I called ADT, who confirmed they hadn't been monitoring my system for the last 10 months and then tried to upsell me on a new system, stating this would fix this issue. I was agreeable to the new system but insisted I was credited the amount of money I paid for monitoring since I had paid that amount for 10 months without actually receiving service. It's been 27 days since I first talked to someone at ADT, and the issue is still not resolved.

    A few weeks after the initial report, I was contacted by ADT to confirm my physical address since their system showed two different addresses. I've never moved or transitioned services anywhere. It was also highly frustrating that they didn't even know the address where the service was being paid for. I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau in the amount of $448.07 (the amount I paid over 10 months) and then was told by the person that I was working with that because I filed the claim, they couldn't assist me anymore. After I replied to that email, I got a phone call from a different ADT employee offering me $300, which I declined. He then offered me $350, which I also declined since I paid $448.07 for monitoring services where my system was not monitored.

    Every email to them takes a week to respond to, and the high-pressure sales atmosphere is just to squeeze every dollar out of their consumers. It's truly unfortunate. The scary thing is that for 10 months, my system went unmonitored, and they never called me or sent anyone out to fix it. It just sat there. I was lucky that my alarm was set off by a massive windstorm in February, and it wasn't an intruder or some other potential life-and-death situation because ADT was not monitoring my system and would have never dispatched law enforcement to my home.     After Google shut down Nest Secure, they referred customers to ADT, promising a seamless transition. I took the bait. Big mistake. ADT shipped me a box of so-called "equipment," and I set it up, expecting everything to work. Instead, nothing did. My Google devices? Completely undetectable in the ADT app. So, I called support, and here’s what I got:

    - Google/Nest cameras? Nope, unless I bought them directly from ADT.
    - Sensors? Just expensive plastic now.
    - Smart locks? Not supported at all.

    - Google’s fire alarm? Might as well be a paperweight.

    And their brilliant solution? "Just spend another $1,000 on our special equipment." No smart locks, no real integration—just a blatant cash grab. 3/8/2024 Update: More Lies & Broken Promises. After my review, I got the copy-paste PR response asking me to email their "always available" support. I did. They scheduled a virtual tech appointment for noon on Friday. No one called. Finally, in more than two hours of waiting, at 2:20 PM, a tech called. I had to explain the issue three times, no kidding, before being put on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time. The final answer?

    - None of my Google/Nest devices work with ADT+.
    - To make it work, I’d have to pay $460+ tax.

    - When I asked for a discount, they inflated the price first, then offered a "deal."

    3/3/2025: And Then Came the Billing Scam. After all this, I made it 100% clear that I did not want to continue with ADT’s service. I called, emailed, and submitted cancellation requests through their website. And yet, ADT ignored every single cancellation request and charged me anyway. They knew I canceled. They just took the money anyway. Summary:

    ✅ Misleading sales tactics—ADT+ does NOT support existing devices, despite initial claims.
    ✅ Unreliable/clueless support—Tech team failed to keep the appointment and wasted hours of my time.
    ✅ Deceptive pricing strategy—They inflated the price before offering a so-called "discount."
    ✅ Lack of equipment compatibility.

    ✅ Unethical billing practices (scam, actually) —ADT ignored my multiple cancellation requests and charged me anyway.

    Would you trust this company? Exactly. Neither do I. A total disgrace.

    Terrible Experience with ADT – Ongoing Issues and Poor Customer Support. I have been an ADT customer for over 20 years, but my experience over the past year has been nothing short of frustrating. After spending thousands of dollars to upgrade my alarm system, it has never worked properly. I have had multiple technicians visit my home on numerous occasions, yet no one has been able to resolve the issue.

    To make matters worse, ADT’s customer support has been incredibly difficult to deal with—scheduling a technician is a challenge, and getting real help feels impossible.     Our "new and improved" system was installed on 2/12. Or should I say, partially installed. They missed alarms on four doors and one smoke alarm system. They came out on 2/13 and installed the rest, although they did not set up the key fob that we use. On 2/14 one of the door sensors fell off and started going off. We figured out a way to stop it, and someone came out and fixed it. But on 2/21, the alarm from that door went off when we were not home and the police weren't called. We have not been able to reset it, although I called. Now that door is permanently bypassed, the door a burglar would most likely use. I went through social media and they said they would charge $59 to come out to fix a brand new alarm system that has never worked properly. Apparently this system is not even monitored, so what good is it?

    Worse company ever, they tell you there is no contract but that you have to sign something just while paying for the system. I paid for the system and cancel and they took 1000 dollars off my account because I violated the contract. I even sent them a recorded call where they told me there is no contract. Also their 6 month money back guarantee if I didn't like the service, they asked me if I read the final print, even though the sells guy told me it was if I wasn't happy with the service, also recorded in the call. They pushed and pushed even after I called to cancel within the first month because the service sucks.

    I have been an ADT customer since 1996. I own a building and have used their security systems for all those years. In August 2024 I sold my building and canceled my account with ADT. I was told that there was a 30-day cancellation policy which I acknowledged and paid the account balance for the 30 days. ADT continued to bill my account after 30 days and continued to receive payment through the auto-payment system. I have called ADT October, November, December, January and February because ADT continues to bill me and despite my canceling the account and being told that it was not closed properly.

    Now ADT has sent my account to collections. I have spent probably 30 hours on the phone trying to resolve it and I get transferred and told this department is not the correct department and I have to transfer you someplace else and we see that you canceled your account in August and it wasn’t canceled properly and I was still being billed. The final straw is having my account sent to collections. This is the same account which I have paid without fail on time and in full for almost 30 years.

    ADT customer Service is nonexistent as far as I'm concerned. I wrote a complaint letter to both the local office and corporate and never received a response. At times, when you call for help you'll wait a very long time to speak with someone, and good luck if their first language is English. If you cancel your account, you better inform them 30 days in advance because they will charge you for 30 days of service whether or not you actually have service. Over 23+ years I have had ADT on and off, cancelling for poor or incompetent service. I'll never contract with them again. Oh ya, they have raised my monthly rate twice in the last year. Don't contract with ADT, despite their #1 rating, which is a joke.

    We signed up for a 3 year contract with ADT in 2021 and from the very start, the equipment was terrible. Cameras went dark incessantly, needing to be unplugged and reset. The battery in the main board went dead in less than a year, and has had to be replaced 3 times now. After opening the panel the first time, it has never closed properly, no matter how often we've tried to fix it. We've lived with a 'base unit tamper' alert for years now. We refuse to pay ADT $89 to come look at it. The cameras very quickly became obsolete. Far better wireless units are available from Amazon, etc. We were paying $80 per month for simple monitoring until today, when I put in the order to cancel our service.

    Which was a NIGHTMARE. The pushy rep in the cancellation department would not take no for an answer and kept badgering me over and over again to reconsider. I ended up yelling at him in anger to LISTEN to me and honor my request to cancel. I may even have used a few swear words. I honestly think he was trying to anger me enough to hang up so that he would not have to put through the order to cancel. AWFUL customer service. The WORST I've ever experienced. Had he merely accepted my explanation that we no longer want their service, I would not be writing this review. But now I intend to tell everyone and anyone about my experience with ADT. My review on Yelp joined hundreds of other negative reviews, where ADT rates a dismal 1.2 out of 5 stars. Well deserved, I might add.

    Terrible! Zone alerts come up but windows are closed. I open and close them to make sure they are secured. Alarm keeps going off in the middle of the night. Call ADT and they say we only show that the alarm has gone off, no zone alerts. The system has corrected itself. They have me do a system test. Everything is fine now they tell me. Well that’s great! So glad I keep waking up to a blaring alarm and 1:30, 3:30 am. They raise their prices every 6 months as well. They do not care about their customers!

    The experience is not great with ADT. The cameras that were installed get disconnected frequently, which I had to set up again and again. Sometimes, their notification doesn't come through ADT’s service. Every time we had to give ADT a call to fix the cameras, it would take hours and hours. If that is something not getting fixed, if we would want to request them to come and fix it, they charge extra for that, which is not fair. I pay the service, but not get the right things. There is no use in putting those cameras.

    My camera was not working. And the reset button doesn't work properly. I asked ADT. I didn't get anything from them, then I disconnected. I did my way of Google or YouTube. I found the solution for that. They tried and installed it again. But getting ahold of them, getting their ideas, and implementing that is tough. They are not friendly. Anything that you give a service, you should come down and check that if it is working properly. We know ADT provides smart solutions for installing the camera and other things like the other provider does. We went by brand name. Once installed, we went through the customer reviews, so we found that's not the right solution. But as we took the contract for three years, I have to pay for the cancellation charges. I'm just waiting for the three years.

    I decided to go with ADT because I wanted a single company that could maintain and fix the products if there were any issues. Unlike other brands, ADT offered a more hands-on approach rather than just helpline assistance, which I found to be not very helpful. I've been with them for about a year now. The sales and customer services were good; however, the installation process was problematic. The installer was new and didn't know how to install the system properly. I had to intervene and install it myself. He took eight hours to set up one dashboard and two cameras and left holes in the wall that needed patching. Unfortunately, ADT did not offer any compensation for these issues.

    If friends or family asked about my experience, I would not recommend ADT. They tend to lock you into contracts and aren't very helpful after the initial period unless you pay additional fees for assistance. As for the equipment, it's fine except for the driveway camera. It doesn't pick up people well and triggers alerts for cars, animals, shadows, and even flies, making it essentially ineffective. It failed to notify me when there was an attempted break-in even though the camera was pointing directly at the incident.

    We have the security around the house and the cameras with ADT. The security system works most of the time but any time there's a little storm, we lose our internet and the security system goes out. I have to go back over and reset them. I usually have to unplug everything and plug them back in, then the system would work again. It's a pretty easy process but this incident would happen at least once a month.     I became an ADT customer back in March 2011 because my father recommended them, and I've stayed ever since. Over the years, I've had both good and bad experiences with their customer service. One particularly frustrating incident occurred a couple of years ago when ADT misrepresented the cost of an installation related to my app control features. They quoted a much lower price than what was ultimately billed to me.     The system didn't work. I paid every month and was never told that I wasn't connected. So, we stopped using it. The only reason I found that we weren't connected is that the battery of the fire alarm in my husband's office needed to be replaced. ADT sent out a technician. He said, "There's no reason for me to replace this battery because you're not even connected to the system." We had no idea that our system wasn't communicating with ADT's base. We've been paying monthly for years. So, I canceled the service. When we had it installed, we had a landline. When we got rid of the landline, which disconnected us from the ADT system. Even though the alarm service worked in our house, if anything happened, ADT would have never been notified.

    The system suits me. ADT could simplify it a bit more, but I don't have any problem with it. I like that it warns about things and the fact that I can arm and disarm it easily. I feel a lot safer when I'm away from my home that I have ADT to warn me if somebody is in my house. I have a camera in my house with ADT. I'm very happy with it. It's a good system, but be prepared for it to be pricey. With the competition out there, ADT needs to realize that they better start being more competitive with their systems and pricing. We have a lot of people in the neighborhood that have different systems and I am only one of two in our neighborhood that has ADT.

    It seems like the longer you're with ADT, the more you pay. I don't have the door ring, or I have my doors monitored and but no windows monitored. I started out paying $45 a month and I'm all the way up to 68. And to tell you the truth, after my contract ends in March of 2026, I'm discontinuing it because of that. They just continue to put it more expensive and more expensive. And I know technology is getting expensive, but when you have a simple system like this, you could go with a lot of other ones that are in competition with ADT and save yourself a lot of money. Also, they're not good about having an ADT rep up here. If you have any problems with your doors or your alarm system, it takes forever to find an ADT rep to come out to your house and take care of the problem. That is something they need to improve on, too, especially in the state of Alaska.

    The young man did a great job with the installation. He did exactly what I wanted done. ADT installed brand new equipment, but I would get low battery alarms. If they install something that's brand new, I shouldn't get low battery alarms. There's something wrong in their supply chain as far as QC. Also, I was not happy with the business portion of my experience. The first person I interfaced with didn't realize I had ADT+, so they referred me to the wrong installers. When I got to the installer, she realized they sent me to the wrong place. Everything is a waiting game.

    Yesterday, I spent 45 minutes to an hour on the phone a simple, "I got a problem. Come fix it." I spent nearly an hour on the phone. I was transferred all over the country. I repeated my name, rank, and serial number every single time. That's ridiculous. When you transfer something in today's age, automation to transfer that information for me. It reminds me when I used to market stuff. They're marketing state of the art and they're working with ancient equipment. The fact that they bounced me all over the countryside did nothing but add to my frustration.

    I had ADT in my other home. It was satisfactory. I might as well have it in the house I'm moving to. The system was already here. They used to mount everything on the wall. So, I sat dumb and happy. I didn't know how their equipment had progressed. They now have a plug-in unit. Had I not been informed earlier, I would have had a big hole in my wall that I couldn't have fixed before I painted the walls. They didn't explain their newer equipment to me adequately. Play 20 questions with the representative before installing the system. What does the system encompass? Am I paying for the equipment or is the equipment coming and the service fee is capturing the cost? I'm not of the computer generation, and it's hard for me to change. I feel I have to be spoon fed when you tell me, "Oh, you've got to do this with this app." I know it frustrates the younger generation.

    I've complained to ADT about all my problems and what I feel about it. Every month I have to pay them something and I also have to pay another $25 per year to somebody down in Texas. Then, whenever I call and ask for help, and if it's just on the phone and I do the work, I still have to pay a 50-dollar fee for their help. When the system is working, it works fine. But also, whenever my batteries go down in the room indicators, then I have to change them myself. I have to send them and pay for the batteries and they have to tell me what to do.     I chose ADT Home Security because I've known about them for years. My parents had ADT, and I appreciated their feature where, if the alarm went off, a live person would check in to ensure everything was alright. This was crucial as we recently moved into a new house during the pandemic amidst a spate of burglaries.     We got ADT in 2017 when we moved into our house. It was good for awhile. We had a contract. Then one day the camera wasn't working, they sent a person out, got it working on my end however he said they could not see it on their end and replaced the camera. The next day I see a charge on my bank account for$120,I called them and was told it was for a camera, I told them I wasn't aware of any charges and how are you allowed to go into my bank account like that. They pull up the work order that has my husband's signature on it, he wasn't home at the time, it wasn't his signature. So, they were allowed to refund me but only as much as I pay a month it was $89. So, next time they came out was to update our system, throughout all of this, sometimes our saved videos weren't working or camera wasn't working. So back to the update they added time to our contract. We didn't approve of that either.

    Tried to just cancel them, they said OK, but you'll still pay us what the amount of your contract would be. So we couldn't cancel but I told them I would pay or bill every month I didn't want them in our account. So, I paid them, they kept sending me a bill saying the only way I could pay for the equipment was to have it on auto pay, unless we paid it off. So we're stuck, because we don't want it on our credit. I think that's messed up that you can't cancel a service if you're not happy with them. #Stuck until 2026.

    ADT only calls me when the system is down or if the alarm goes off. But not when someone comes to the house. Someone comes in the night when I'm sleeping or when I'm not here. I don't know how they do it. And ADT doesn't call my cell phone. I told them the intruder broke off the device but they never came out to repair it or anything. I don't feel secure and I think something is not right. I have ADT on my door and it's not adequate. The intruder just destroys or dismantles it. But I can't afford ADT on the window, unless they can provide me a package where I could get it on the windows for me.

He was able to get me back to my original monthly cost from an update or a change that had occurred. Every once in a while, there's something weird with the glass break unit. I don't have them set up, so it's an emergency alert for me. I removed them in case it did it again. The only thing is when the technician was here less than a year ago, there was something that was put on my invoice that was gonna help the way that the main unit gets plugged.     I've been a customer of ADT since 2017. I was moving to west of Phoenix, Litchfield Park and when I called and inquired, they were very helpful. They reviewed the plans with me on the phone. When I had to transfer my service from Litchfield Park to Bullhead City where I now live, it was a simple process. Installation was very quick and meaningful. When I got the system done at my current address in Fort Mohave, outside of Bullhead, that one was rushed. It was a brand-new system, new technology and I'm not that tech-savvy. The kid didn't want to go through a lot of stuff with me like he should have. I would have to constantly inquire and ADT would have to send somebody out, which I always got stuck paying for every time they came out to answer any questions and assist me with the new system that I've had since 2022. Now, I understand it and it's not a big deal. It's second nature to me.

    I've been very happy with ADT, so far. I don't like the fact that they up their rates a bit 'cause I'm on a fixed income now, but other than that, they're a great service. I just wish I had a better Wi-Fi service where I live because sometimes I have a tough time accessing my panel from my phone as I'm getting ready to either arm or disarm the house as I'm leaving or coming back to the house from wherever I'm at.

    ADT's customer service sucks. They know there's an open police case, and they've been dragging their feet on getting this stuff. We had issues with the cameras, and the NVR keeps breaking as well. They've had to replace it twice. The recording stopped and the two times I really needed it, my recordings weren't available. The police wanted the records September 10th, so it's been seven months now. ADT has also had to do stuff and they have come several times. I've had to call several times as well. They don't resolve the issue and there's no follow through, even when there's an open police case about it twice.

    I liked the last technician that came, but it's very hard to reach someone at ADT. They should pull up my account for all the times I called. When I finally got a manager's name, I called him several times. “Oh, I'm checking with my guy. He'll do it. Okay. Yes. You’re there. We'll do a discount update on these newer cameras. We're gonna do it. Yes. We'll call you,” but then nothing. All in all, ADT is terrible and I would not recommend them at all. I'm very unhappy. In fact, I’m paying them off.

    I had ADT for 2 years. My first experience with ADT was with a technician that couldn't keep his eye off my wife, made both of us feel awkward. I actually made a complaint after seeing saved videos of her on my security panel after he left. Had the hardware malfunction multiple times (only a few months in), and the customer service is the worst. The reps are never consistent. I had to call to cancel my account multiple times after switching to Vivint (btw no complaints!). Thinking it was cancelled I noticed an ADT bill, stating I was 120 days past due for the amount of $351.

    I immediately called and was transferred to the cancellation department. After the rep reviewed the notes from my previous calls, she stated I clearly called to cancel my account and even paid the remaining balance, however, they failed to transfer you to the cancellation department to cancel the account. Keep in mind I called twice to cancel. After being put on hold for 10 minutes, the rep tells me that she talked to the back office and they acknowledge my previous calls to cancel, but because I was not transferred to the cancellation dept, they can't backdate the cancellation date. Wow, good customer service would acknowledge my intent and see the failure of their staff and honor the back-dated cancellation.

    I had a situation three months ago and the time before that I called ADT was six years ago. I had good service in those times. Sometimes it turned out to be a battery. I have an old system. Everything is hardwired. Maybe my windows are a little older, so they tend to sometimes separate in a high wind 16th of an inch, and occasionally, that can set off the system. I was given some suggestions over the phone. None of which worked. I figured, "Years ago they would have said, 'We'll come out and solve the problem for you,'" but that's not the case any longer. And they don't tell me, "If it doesn't work, we'll come out or we'll do whatever." But I was able to solve the problem myself. It works okay.

    Some of the problems are it's like automobiles where the thing goes off or whatever by the time somebody breaks into your house and they can be gone in a short period of time. The way it goes today is that you can't just notify the police or you notify Spectrum and they notify the police, and all that takes a while. By the time I go through all that, I scratch your head and say, "How did all that protect me?" But it's as good as there is. It's important if you have the sign out in front.

    If I call ADT and something has to be done, there's no charge for it, because I've been a customer for many years. When the battery beeped, they sent a tech out to replace the battery at no charge. I was in my bathroom getting ready for work and the alarm went off. When I looked at it, the sensor told me it was in the very bathroom I was in. Come to find out, the contact in the window had gone bad. ADT had been in this house before I came here. ADT said, "We can't find anything. Let me send a tech out." And that's what it was. It happened twice. He said the little contact inside the window jam sometimes it goes bad from heat. They replaced it, and I never had that problem again. They're very good.

    ADT gave me a good deal. However, the people who are helping me out are awful. I have a problem with one of my sensors, so I just left it. I didn't care anymore. ADT wanted to charge me $50 to come out. They charge me $50 a month. If I had a cable problem, U-verse came out for free and fixed the problem. The person didn't help me at all. I was on the phone for at least two hours. They tried to walk us into what sensor it was. We had to take apart the sensor and see what was the problem with the battery. It was a lot of work. I said, "Why don't you just have someone come out here and do it?" He said, "Okay. It looks like your sensor has a problem. We're gonna send you a kit." They wanted us to do it ourselves. But I don't know how to do it. If I look at my app, it says sensor problem. We just left. I bypassed it when I put the alarm on because ADT never came out.

    I like the app so I can turn it on when I leave. It helps me because if I left a garage door open, I can see, "Garage door left open." That is good. That helps out a lot. ADT makes me feel safe. But does it help if you have an alarm system? It doesn't matter these days. I will probably cancel it. I should be turned on every time, but I feel like it doesn't matter. I heard my friends got robbed. What they do is they shut down your whole system. So, it's a waste of money. What kind of security system is gonna work? I don't think they care anymore.

    I don't wanna switch to another company because ADT is a good service. Their customer service is good for me. And the price is not too high. Somebody came to put the new sensors all over the windows the last time I changed them. Also, I asked them for the signs of the windows. They sent me the signs. They came very fast. Two years ago, I was out of the country. ADT called me right away when the alarm was off. The firefighter came up to my house to see if everything was good.

    I've been a customer with ADT Home Security since 2020, so almost five years now. Recently, when I called to inquire about installing a doorbell camera, they realized I was being charged for a camera service that I never had. They offered to credit me two months of service out of nearly five years of incorrect charges, which seemed quite unfair to me. Aside from this issue, the service is satisfactory, though I had to pay $45 for a replacement battery when my alarm system started beeping incessantly. I assumed equipment maintenance would be covered by the service, but evidently, it is not.

    Not very many people are up to date about do-it-yourself in a no-sales area. I don't know when I became a no-sales area. Between March when I signed up and now, I became a no-sales area. It took many transfers from one person to another person to another. If it wasn't for me having ADT's contract already signed, I would have dropped ADT. They need to educate their reps a bit more, when people are out of area. It took me a week to get through to the right person, because I was on the phone call for over an hour, all five times. And a couple of times, the phone call was dropped, and nobody returned my phone call. I had already been on the phone for an hour and 20 minutes before the last person was able to help me. She took good care of me. She needs to get some kudos there because it was awesome. She's very good with what she's doing.

    The only thing I’m disappointed with is I cannot get transferred from ADT to ADT+, which I had to pay for this month for the ADT, is I can't transfer it to the Plus until I hook the other system up. Who knows when it's gonna get in the mail? Mail is behind right now. Come to find out I'm paying for a service that I don't have because I no longer have a monitor. I needed to update my 20-year old monitor system because mine had a surge and it no longer is good, but ADT doesn't carry that one, so they couldn't get parts for it. In order to get an upgrade for my home, I had to go through the do-it-yourself program, which is called ADT+, because I'm in a no-sales zone. I also asked, “Did they not reach out to you when you became a no-sales zone?” I said, “No. They did not reach out to me.” I pay monthly. I pay extra sometimes. They said that when my alarm system comes in the mail and I hook it all up, it's covered with a virtual rep or on the phone.

    One person came out and reactivated it in this house and checked it out. The second person came out and fixed something. Now, it's, “I guess I'm a no-sales because the only city that can service me is Little Rock, Arkansas.” ADT did awesome with calling us if our alarm went off. I have to replace the smoke detector for the new system because these are old. ADT said, “You need to replace them every five years.” They reach out. That's why I kept them. If we don't answer, they will dispatch the fire department or the sheriff over here. That's 100% promise right there. They called us several times. ADT just needs to do their communication better.

    I've been using ADT Home Security for over 15 years, and frankly, my experience has been disappointing lately. When issues arise, such as my camera malfunctioning, getting a response from them is quite challenging. Even when I request a callback, it seldom happens.

    For instance, when my camera stopped working, I was advised to go through various steps, but that achieved nothing. My daughter even got involved, trying to resolve the issue with another technician, but it was only after much back-and-forth that ADT finally deemed it necessary to send someone out to replace the defective camera.

    There have been multiple other issues over the past three years, so much so that I'm waiting for my contract to end so that I can contact someone else. The cost is steep, considering the lackluster service I receive—not great at all. Given my frustrations, I'd rate my satisfaction as very low. If I had the option, I'd rate it a zero.

    A sensor hasn't been working properly since I purchased ADT and it's been two years. I called ADT numerous times and I couldn't get a resolution. They want me to send it in. I told them, “It's just a sensor. Send me the replacement.” I called a few times but that matter didn't get resolved. So right now, if you look at my alarm, there's still one light beeping. My patio sensor is still not working. So I'm not too happy about this. They're trying to help. I get it. They asked me to replace the battery. But I did all that. A new battery will only last about a week, and then start to go out. So something is defective with the sensor. I told ADT that and they told me that if I couldn't duplicate the result, they couldn't do anything about it. I was busy and then forgot about it. The reps were courteous but my problem was not solved. I probably would switch to SimpliSafe. They offered me $500 a month with comparable equipment.

I'm often hard of hearing depending on who I'm talking to and they don't mind repeating themselves until I finally get what they're saying.     I got interested in ADT's service for the cameras in the house. I called them mommy and daddy cams. I could see that dad was sleeping or at the computer or mom was in the kitchen. I had the camera in my kitchen, in the living room, in the three public places that they would be sitting. It made me be able to make sure that they were okay when they were visiting me.

    The system works great. ADT upgraded it and it's easy. On the phone, you can unlock and lock. The reps were also very helpful when something went wrong and we called for service. They're coming to upgrade more stuff. But we had a huge ice storm today and they called to let me know their guys couldn't come out and put ladders with ice. They were very proactive to tell me and we then rescheduled. With the response time of the police and all the crime in the area, it's more secure having ADT. Without it, I wouldn't feel good at all. I'm very pleased with ADT and I've already recommended it to people. It would be nice though if they sent me a new sign 'cause ours broke.

    I've had ADT for years and I like that they are the most available right now. It's also easy for me to work the system and it has worked for what it's worth. The only complaint I have is living so far out in the country. I live 30 minutes outside of any town. A couple of times, my alarm's gone off to where I've had a phone call going asking was everything alright. I was sitting there thinking to myself if it wasn't alright, by the time they got off the phone with me, involved law enforcement and gave them at least 20 minutes to get out here, somebody would have been in and out in three to five minutes. Also, I don't know who answers my calls. Half of them don't speak English.

    I was seeing signs in other people’s yards and hearing about ADT and chose them due to recognition. Most of my dealings with the reps have been good. I have casement windows and I have 28 sensors. So, the installation was not quick. But in hindsight, I did it when I was scared and I overdid it. I can have a whole bunch of false alarms in the middle of the night and I don’t like that. But I didn't know any better at the time. So, I don't blame ADT for that. And I have corrected it a couple of days ago. My very last experience with customer service was sensationally good.     I've had ADT’s service for so long and I've reached out to them for various concerns. Initially, I didn't have the upstairs armed. But because I had a burglary, I upgraded the upstairs windows. ADT was in place and it was on a hard wire. This was prior to the wireless configuration they have now. I had a loud horn that blew outside and inside the house when the burglars were approaching downstairs. My neighbors were outside. So, they got out. When ADT came out to arm the windows upstairs, the wireless configuration didn't allow me to have that horn still installed. So, I was disappointed about that because it only rings inside. No one can hear it outside the home, whereas the other one blasted.

    After the burglary, when I had the additional windows armed, ADT was gonna charge me for the service to come back out and put the additional windows. Also, I had a problem with the battery and they were gonna send the battery to me for me to install it. In this case, I had to pay for a serviceman to come out to put the batteries in because I didn't know how to do it. I understand that everybody wants to make money. But from what I recall in the conversation, there was no empathy. One other thing is that ADT’s prices are going up all the time.

    ADT bought out the security company that I originally had. They didn't do any equipment upgrades. I don't think they were completely able to use the older different gear. I had multiple issues with the equipment itself, and couldn't get it resolved. They just wanted me to upgrade and buy a whole new setup. I wasn't gonna do that for their price, so I went someplace else. It also was not that easy canceling with ADT. I kept calling back.

    When I first started with ADT, I was happy with the service, but because the cost continued to go up, I looked for replacing it with a cheaper service. When I tried calling ADT about it last year, they did the reduction, then the price went back up. They didn't tell me initially that it was just six months. It was a miscommunication.

    I reached out a couple months ago asking for someone to call me and assist because I was looking at reducing the plan or different options. They were gonna have somebody call me, but no one ever followed up. That was my last experience with ADT. I don't need the service right now, and I don't even use the system. It needs to be upgraded.     The system works fine, but I had a bad experience with ADT. A yard man hit my sign with something and tore it up. Plus, I got a new solid glass screen door, and I wanted a sticker to put on there. So, I asked ADT for one sign and one sticker. I've called three times. When I called back the second time, ADT had my address wrong. They had me as Pinson, 35206, and it's Birmingham, Alabama, 35215. The man I dealt with told me he was gonna change it in the system to get that straightened out and that he would send the sign and the sticker, but I still haven't gotten anything. I don't know if they delivered them to the wrong place.

    This is the first time I've ever had a problem. I'm 69, while my husband's almost 70 and we like that sign out front and on the door to deter people from bothering us. I need the sticker for my new screen door and the sign for the yard. I went online to try to order them, and they said I exceeded the amount I could get for the year. I have never gotten any and I don't know where they're sending them.

    Previously, in Michigan, we employed ADT for in excess of 10 years, then down here, it's been five years. There have been an accidental alarm entering the house, but other than that, we've not needed them for an emergency or a break-in. Many of the times, we were able to get to the panel and shut the alarm off. We have had phone calls from them on rare occasions where we haven't, and they've been given the code word so that they knew there was no issue. When the customer service people were out, they were fine. They also helped me on phone calls made when there were issues with the panel. All in all, the service is fine, but it seems like the price goes up every year. Originally they were around $30 and it's up to $60 plus now.

    We have ADT for home security, and if anything goes wrong, we can call somebody and have somebody come out. I don't have any issues with them at all. The cameras work well. I had one issue with one camera, but it seems like it's working fine now. The service meets my expectations well. It's just that the price has gone up a lot and while they've sent notices, a lot of people now are just going to Ring cameras or other stuff. They don't have to worry about paying that monthly fee, or they pay a fee one time and that's it. ADT should pay attention to that because they can easily lose a customer by somebody just getting all the cameras in the store.

    I had been connected with ADT for over 20 years. When I started with them, they were very responsive and I would have people come to the house to help me if I had a problem, but then all of that seemed to disappear at some point in time. I had a lot of issues with the system, probably because it was so old. In fact, I had disconnected it. I didn't use the system by the last six months that I paid for it because it would go off for no reason in the middle of the night and then I couldn't get anybody on the other line to help me cut it off. I ended up cutting it off completely so it wouldn't do that. It wasn't reliable and I'm sure it was because it was older. If I had changed to wireless, it would have been better, but by that time, I was so over ADT that I wanted to go with somebody else.

    I could never get anybody on the phone and it would take forever to go through all the automated things. Still, I called ADT to say that I wanted to change from a wired system to a wireless and they quoted me about $400, which was a lot. In the meantime, I found out about another company, read about them and I liked them. They were cheaper and every time I called them, they were right there to answer me. So, I dropped my service with ADT and went with somebody else because of the customer service.

    When I moved in here over 20 years ago, I got ADT and I've had them ever since. I'm satisfied with them. If you look online and ask for the best service, ADT comes up and there's nobody near them. This is why I stay with then. It's a wonderful service for what they do. Less than five years ago, I had a guy out to update the unit. He took out the wall unit and put in an updated one. When the testing comes and we're supposed to test the unit, and when we have to talk with somebody from ADT on the phone, my wife handles that and she's never complained.

    ADT came out and installed like I requested. I'm in a safe area, but you never know. Sometimes I'm out of town so I want security on my house. The gentleman that came out asked me where I wanted everything. He told me where he thought everything should be, and I went with what he thought. He was quick and didn't waste any time. He got it done and showed me how to use the monitor.

    I like that ADT is available and they have all types of things that I could add if I want to at a later time. But right now, I'm happy with the service I get and I don't see a need for anything extra. I know there are others that are less than ADT price-wise, but because they've been in business so long, I wouldn't even think about it. One time, we had a power outage that lasted about an hour.     The alarm works well, but I'm more interested in the cameras, which have such a long delay as far as taking pictures. If something happens, I'll miss it because it hasn't shown it yet. ADT has come out and replaced the cameras, but it's the way their cameras are. I've had ADT since 2008 and I'm not happy with their cameras, but at the same time, I don't want to have to try to find another security system and pay all over again.

    We got ADT a long time ago. We were traveling at the time so we wanted to have an alarm system. We have the basic package where when the alarm's on and the door opens, the alarm goes off. However, it used to be that if by some chance I walked out the door and the alarm went off and I turned it off, someone would call and ask if everything is okay. They don't do that anymore.

    I wanted a hardwired system. Part of it is, but the main brain is a battery backup and cell. I've been happy with everything except for, when we were doing the installation, I talked to the salesperson and had everything ironed out. When the installer came, he said, "Let's do this. Let's do some fire alarms, smoke detectors." He did several things, and ADT ended up sending me a bill for a lot of money. The installer tried to upsell and he didn't say that it wasn't all included in what we had discussed already. That was the biggest thing. But we got that rectified. When you talk to the salesperson, iron down what you want. And when the installer comes out, make sure if you decide to do anything else, that's fine. Know that it's going to be more money. They use their technical lingo. You don't know what they're talking about. Other than that, I like ADT's reliability. We use the app a lot. We can arm and disarm it from our phone. Super easy.

    I would leave a zero review if I could. Been a customer for 3 years and they took money out of my account a LARGE amount. That they were NOT supposed to take without informing us. I called for a refund and was told we would get the whole amount in 2-3 PRIORITY days checked my account on day 3 no refund. I was told Monday I wouldn’t need to call back it would be in my account. It’s not. Called and was told they credited it to my account and now they start the refund which takes 7-10 days. And also hey your bill for MARCH was generated so we took from the credit we was suppose to refund so now you aren’t getting the whole refund now and I have to wait 7-10 days my account is negative and I have overdraft fees that they also wouldn’t give me.     DO NOT use ADT. I recently sold my home and was 2/3 through my contract at the time. When I moved to my apartment I was told that I could “transfer” my service or buy out my contract. Well, I didn’t want to pay $1k + to buy out my contract so I chose to transfer the service. What they don’t tell you is that your 3 year contract starts all over again. To me, that’s not a “transfer” as you are starting all over again. Basically, I’m being held hostage by ADT. I highly recommend you don’t use them.

    I was trying to find 2 additional garage door openers that would also activate/deactive the house alarm. I know they used to exist because I have one. I was told that I would need a technician who would come out to help. When he arrived, I was told that I would need a new system upgrade and that the garage door and alarm could then be controlled by the ADT app on my phone. I explained that what I asked for and was told I would get is garage door openers - not an app. I sent him away.

    I called again to see what the options were. ADT told me that my garage door company could do this. I scheduled that service. That gentleman came to set up 2 new garage door openers - not do anything about the security system. ADT - wrong again. So I sent that gentleman away as well. I called back to ADT after I discovered that there was a "key fob" that I could keep in the car that would allow me to activate/deactive the alarm. Solid solution - even though I had to find it myself. So I called to order the fobs. They were to be sent Friday with expedited delivery for Tuesday. Package arrived on Tuesday, but contained door sensors, NOT key fobs.

    Called to straighten out the problem. Over the course of the next hour, I was passed from person to person with holds in between. When I (re)ordered the keyfobs, I was told I would have to wait for the door sensors to be returns before I could get the $150 credit for their costs. I said I would go ahead and pay for the fobs now ($90) so they could be sent asap. I asked for expedited delivery like last time and was told I would have to pay for it. I asked if there was someone I could speak to about it and after another long hold, got a person who said no. She sent me back to "sales" where I was then told that the order was cancelled.

    Went to dinner and had a much needed highball. Called again to be told the order was not cancelled, had been shipped, and would arrive in 3-5 days. Today, my entire alarm system is down and after 30 minutes of "troubleshooting"on the phone, a technician is being dispatched tomorrow. In summary, ADT has $240 of my money and I have exactly nothing. Not key fobs, not a working alarm. Nothing. We've had ADT for 12 years, but I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM. Find another company who has real customer service, but ADT does not.

    I had used ADT for 20+ years and was satisfied. Rarely had any interaction with them. We moved and the new house had an ADT system in place. Since we signed up we have had many problems. I have been on the phone with them at least 6 times. We have had at least 5 service calls. Their call center I would bet is not US based, which in my experience doubles the length of every call. I should have had my security system evaluated to find out if there were problems lurking, yesterday I had to call because the backup battery is low. They will charge me $100 to remedy it. I think they could have determined my battery was old when I signed up a few months ago. I do not recommend ADT.

    My personal experience was awful! The technician showed up, tracked mud on the floor and then asked for my wife's phone to pull up the "Dashboard". He then asked, "What's the problem"? He obviously didn't read the service notes. Made my 53-year-old wife go get a ladder from my shed when he had two on the top of his truck. He said he can't fix it and does not have a camera with him. "We needed a door switch as well." "Don't have one of those either," he said. Then asked to use the bathroom! My wife was uncomfortable and didn't feel safe this entire time. His total visit was approx. 19 minutes. Most of which was my wife carrying a ladder and him using the bathroom. We called several times to customer service. None of them were listening!!! They wanted to send the same technician to the house after being told several times SHE DID NOT FEEL SAFE!!! Unacceptable!!!!

    Predatory contracts and cancellation fees, poor customer support, and uncaring local representatives will leave you feeling trapped.     This company has horrible infrastructure. It maybe hard to not get frustrated but just know most any issue you have will take at least 2-3 reps help due to being constantly transferred around. I had to pay the remainder of contract for almost an entire year after a quick unexpected moving situation and was told by one of their reps that I wouldn’t need to physically call to cancel after the contract ended and that I would be fine. WRONG!! I was charged yet again the following month after my contract ended for an entire month (after paying in total almost $600) and had to speak to 3 different people before they would cancel my service and was never given a straight answer about a refund or even any intention of it. I finally just decided to dispute it with my credit card company. STAY AWAY FROM ADT. You’re much better off with any other pay as you go service like simplisafe or even vivint. Lesson learned. :(

    I will never use ADT AGAIN after my contract is up. I was quoted a quote prior to installation and after everything was all said and done my contract quote went from $800 Dollars and some change to $2,300. I was told I can see my camera system that was provided to me and after everything was installed I was not able to see my system I was provided.

    I then called ADT and explained it to them and was told “oh sorry but you have to upgrade your system to view the cameras." I told them that I just purchased the system less than 12 hours ago and was told the same thing - YOU SYSTEM. I was then changed $2,300. For the system and was then told by customer service after explaining the amount to them. “Yes I agree with you and sorry that you were lied to by the sales agent but there is nothing we can do. You’re not the first person to call about this. It happens everyday here and sorry that customers get taken advantage of like this by agents." SO BE CAREFUL. ADT DOES NOT SCAM YOU LIKE THIS LIKE I WAS SCAMMED. The installer even damage the front of my new home side of my home interior walls by drilling unnecessary holes that weren’t even used to run lines for the install of the cameras.

    First it took weeks for them to come out and try to fix our equipment. So we were charged our normal monthly bill for something that wasn’t even working for weeks. Then they ignored the directions we gave them (the number to call before coming out and the time we would be there) and then got mad at US when we weren’t there. Also, We were scammed into a deal last summer and not told we would be locked into a years long contract after the deal was done. When we went to cancel our service one person told us it would be $450 and another told us $1000. Make it make sense. You can bet we will make sure everyone we know knows how awful this company is and not to use them and we will never use them again.

    In early December I called ADT to see about getting some ideas for upgrades and reactivating my system. They said they would send a tech out sat 12/14/24. The tech arrived on time at 0800. I had been out late at work Friday so 0800 I am was sleeping and the knock woke me up. The tech comes in. We have small talk, then we get to brass tacks. I said I wanted to see what offers were available, I also wanna get cameras. Quick note prior to them sending the tech they sent like 3 emails for a contract to sign. Which I did not sign.

    The tech starts messing with my system. He said, "It's not communicating." I said, "Yea. I think the phone wire is broken from when I had DirecTV installed." He ask about internet. I said I have hotspot from AT&T. He said it won't power any cameras. He went in my basement, came back up, said we can do CCTV cameras. I said, "Great. Lets get a quote." He said, "The salesmen do that." We laughed. He started talking about placement, then I yawned. To which he replied, "Do you need a hug to wake up?" (Very weird) I laughed (uncomfortable). He works in the wall mount again. Then goes to a glass break things. Says the battery is dead. Goes to his truck, gets one and a ladder, takes the old one out, put the new in.

    He says, "Still won't communicate," I replied, "Yea the wire is broken." He said, "Does it need to be replaced?" I said yes. He ask if I was paying attention. Then he says, "It's gonna be 57 dollars." I said, "For?" He said, "Service call," I said, "It was supposed to be free", he said, "That was the consult." They waived the 99 dollars since I had ADT before. I get my wallet hand, him my card, pay. He hands me the phone to sign with my finger. I do. Then he says sale will reach out to me with basically quotes and when I decide he will come back and get a better idea of what to use.

    We exchanged text so in case I was not home when he comes back. He never came back. Sales never called, my system does not work, January 9 I got a bill. For 63 dollars for the difference from 57 already paid. I called. We discussed everything. ADT said there was no contract. They emailed fraud paperwork and also mailed. They won't cancel a contract and said I signed it but they don't have it. But tell me to fill the paperwork out. Or the fraud gets denied. It ask for a contract. I have ask them to send with me signing it. They haven't yet. This is the craziest thing ever.

    I've been using ADT Home Security for 24 years, and my experiences with ADT's representatives during installations at two different homes have been positive; they were friendly and helpful.

Nonetheless, the representative managed to resolve my issue remotely, which I appreciated given the circumstances. However, I am currently having a recurring problem with not receiving notifications for door or window openings. Whenever a door or window that has the alarm on it was opened or closed, we used to get a notification. Now, the system prompts to "check system," and although it seems to work since the alarm triggered once while opening a door, it doesn’t function as it previously did. This issue persists mainly because I’m hesitant to troubleshoot it myself due to past long hold times when trying to reach support.

    Despite these challenges, I find ADT to be reliable and responsive as there was an instance 15 years ago when the police were alerted due to door alarms triggered by the wind, confirming the system's effectiveness. I believe ADT is a trusted brand that has been around for a considerable time, providing a sense of security. While I rate their customer service a perfect 5, I deduct a point for pricing, as everything seems expensive. Overall, I feel secure with ADT.

    I've been with ADT for about seven to eight years, but I stopped using their services four years ago because the system hasn't worked since Hurricane Laura. Despite not receiving any bills, ADT has been deducting payments from my account without my knowledge. I initially thought another service provider, Prodigy, was handling cancellations with ADT, but that clearly wasn't done.

    When I noticed the deductions, I realized I'd been paying for a service that hadn't functioned in years. The system stopped sending me alerts and notifications after the hurricane, and I couldn’t use any features like the cameras. It's been frustrating, especially since I'm preparing for retirement and need to cut unnecessary expenses.

    I regret not addressing this sooner due to my lack of technical expertise and other life pressures, but it's clear to me that I need to cancel these ineffective services. Hopefully, sharing my experience will help others in making informed decisions.

    I initially believed the installation would include a camera, but it did not. Although I'm currently paying for a service that should include a camera, there's no functionality because the camera is not part of the system ADT installed. Despite several attempts to resolve the issue via calls and emails, I've received no help or follow-up from ADT, even after being promised a manager would contact me. Consequently, I'm paying for a service that was not delivered as expected.

    Having been an ADT customer for about 25 years, I have consistently had positive experiences with the technicians who come to service my home. The installers were polite and knowledgeable. They came right in and took care of everything. The guys who come to the house are the nicest men I've ever met as well, and they are very professional and kind. They have a guy named Scott, who is simply wonderful. There was also a newer gentleman who recently replaced some batteries for us. We got plan that accommodates our needs because we're older and we can't climb up on the ladder, and the guy was in and out of here and just as pleasant as can be.

    However, I find the phone customer service to be lacking. The representatives don't seem knowledgeable or particularly concerned about customer issues. They don't even sound like they're American. They have a very strong accent like they're from another country and it seems as though they're not reading. They'll say, "Oh, it's going to be 50-something," and I'll say to them, "No, I think I have the package." They're very strange, but once I get them to understand and make an appointment, then after that, things are okay. When the guys came, one guy said, "You have an excellent package because everything is covered." Still, this disparity between in-person and phone service is noticeable and unfortunate, as it didn't used to be this way.

    In terms of the service package, it meets my expectations perfectly. Overall, the in-home service is fantastic, and it's only the call center aspect that could use improvement.

    I first learned about ADT when I bought my home. They installed a doorbell camera and some other features. Being new to the area and unsure about its safety, I decided to go with ADT. However, I encountered numerous issues with the system. The ADT system often fails to connect to our Wi-Fi, and the doorbell camera frequently goes out, requiring constant restarting. There were various small problems throughout.

    Whenever I needed to contact ADT, I faced a 5 to 10-minute wait. Although the representatives were nice, the waiting time was frustrating. I can't recall specific conversations with them, but the first time we had an issue with our doorbell camera, the employee who assisted us was very knowledgeable. The camera's main issue was that it was slow; we could see the video, but people couldn't hear us, although we could hear them.

    I had an incredibly frustrating experience with ADT Home Security, which began when the sales representative failed to inform me of a mandatory three-year contract. I only found out about it after the installation when my name was already on the contract. I discovered later that although there's a lifetime warranty, there's a charge of $60 for each service call to fix any issues. This was contrary to what was verbally assured by their representative.

    Within a short period, the sensors malfunctioned, and the panel showed a low battery for no apparent reason. I had to resolve some of these technical issues myself due to poor installation. Furthermore, we've had alarming instances where unknown individuals managed to communicate through our security panel, raising concerns about its security vulnerabilities.

    ADT's customer service was dismissive when I reached out for help. After posting a critical review on Yelp, they merely responded by sending me a copy of the contract I had been misled into signing. It was disappointing not to have my issues addressed or even an apology offered.

    While the installation technician was competent and courteous, the overall experience with ADT has left me feeling scammed. I can't stress enough how much I regret trusting them with the security of my home and family. I would advise others to avoid ADT at all costs.

    We got a home security service when an ADT Home Security representative came to our door, though I'd known of them beforehand. Since I travel frequently for work, their service seemed like a fitting choice for our security needs. My interactions with their sales representatives were somewhat pushy, but nothing out of the ordinary.

    Unfortunately, my experience with the service itself has been unsatisfactory. Early on, we had a CO2 sensor malfunction. I called, and they couldn't deactivate that from the service. We were away in another country and we had a house sitter. We did not feel the service was very good for helping us in that instance. I called ADT back as well as put complaints in online, but they never did anything about it. Right now, I just have the volume all the way down and I think the alarm's going off 24/7. It's useless to me. We are essentially paying for a service we cannot use, and I've decided to cancel as soon as my contract expires, which should be happening shortly. It’s been disappointing, with the system now just an eyesore in our house.

    The problems started about one to two months after installation, and since then, it hasn’t improved. Overall, I would rate ADT a 1 out of 5. It's very crappy and we're not recommending it.

    I have been using ADT for quite some time now, primarily because I was a Guardian customer, and when ADT acquired them, I was transitioned to their service. I've had the system for at least five years. My experience with ADT has been mixed. Because I'm hearing-impaired, I have strobe lights installed as part of my system and they're crucial for me to know my alarm's going off, especially since I can't hear them without my hearing aids. I had a guy come out here because the system got triggered during the day and I asked him to check them. I didn't know the system was going on because I didn't have my hearing aids on, so I ended up getting calls from ADT, when, in fact, the strobe light was flashing, but it was so slow and up so high that, in broad daylight, I couldn't see it. ADT's technician mentioned the lights were working fine, but for me, they are not adequate during the day. Other than that, the system is fine.

    Interacting with ADT has had its challenges as well. Sometimes, when the alarm goes off, I have difficulty understanding their agents due to their thick accents, although other times communication is smooth. As for navigating the system, there's no problem.

    If I were to rate ADT, I'd give them a 3 out of 5 since the system works fine overall, but there are specific issues that impact my experience. I would tell someone considering ADT that if they have no hearing issues, the service might be suitable. However, those with similar hearing challenges might need to explore other options. The strobe light feature, in theory, could be life-saving in a nighttime emergency, but it lacks effectiveness during the day.

    We first joined ADT Home Security in 2002 for the protection of our home while my husband and I traveled frequently due to our work in the NASCAR circuit. Unfortunately, my experience with ADT has been absolutely horrible and if I could find somebody else, they'd be gone. ADT charges a lot for poor service and even bill a month in advance, which seems ridiculous to me. I had a battery go bad and they sent it to me, but I installed it myself. They wanted to come by and check it and I said, "No, I work during the day. I'm not gonna take a day off so you can come over and see what I've got." I'm not happy with them.

    Recently, a representative managed to negotiate my bill down to $45 after agreeing to a five-year contract. However, my husband has passed away and I'm unsure if I'm gonna remain in my house. We've been in the house 25 years and we've used their pulse services. Every time they upgrade something, we upgraded. I put five cameras at the house in 2018, but the service is absolutely terrible.

    Interacting with ADT representatives has been very frustrating, particularly because many do not speak English fluently, and it's almost impossible to speak with an American representative. When I call and get someone who doesn't speak English, I ask for an American representative, but they don't wanna send it to me. "I take care of you." "No. I don't wanna talk with you. I want someone in America," then, they hang up on me.

    I've got the cameras if something happens, which, before my husband passed away, I was able to pull up the feed when I couldn't get in touch with him. It was a good feature and the alarm system itself is good as well. It's just the interaction with people and the customer service is horrible. Given my dissatisfaction, I would rate them as negatively as possible and certainly wouldn't recommend them to others.

    I first became aware of ADT when I moved to Tennessee from New Jersey in 2006. I didn't realize when I moved in that I ended up in a neighborhood with some crime. However, my main concern is the increasing monthly fees.

    Can't help but feel that I'm being scammed, bought a new home that had a perfectly working ADT system put in by the previous owner, doors and window sensors worked, panel worked.
