I’ve been an ADT customer for 21 years, and throughout the years the service has been consistent. They have taken care of whatever we’ve needed. During some home renovations, we had to disconnect the system so it wouldn’t alert authorities. We called them to put our account on hold for a month or two, and they were able to help us out.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that when we asked for an appointment to reinstate the system, because it wasn’t reconnecting to the panel properly, it got taken care of, but not in a timely way. We’re not sure if they were short-staffed or what, but there was a noticeable delay between when we called and when someone could come out to fix it.
The only thing I can think of that could use improvement is if someone needs support at home, it would be nice if they could come out sooner than they did.

I found ADT by googling security systems and decided to go with them. They sent someone out for a presentation, and I told them what I wanted. They gave me what I wanted and did the installation that day or shortly after. Since then, their customer service has been very good and diligent whenever any alarms go off or if I have questions. Sometimes, I set the alarms off by mistake, and they're pretty good about it. The keypad is easy to use, and I use the phone app all the time to arm and disarm the system, turn cameras on and off, and look at what’s going on around the house.

The ADT system we have functions well. It lets us know when doors open and close. I especially like the chime sound. It alerts me right away if someone is entering or leaving the house. This alarm system is definitely worth having.

I’ve had ADT for about eight years at my current home and 15 years previously. I’ve never switched. I stayed with the one I know and have heard good things about.
The quality is fine, the price could be cheaper. The only thing that I’ve had some issues with is going off repeatedly because of the batteries they were using. Eventually, they replaced them with the correct batteries, and now it works properly.

We’ve had ADT since 2001. Overall, I don’t have any issues with them. I call the devices "scanners," and I’m just not sure that they are working because I accidentally hit one while house cleaning, and it fell down. What concerns me, though, is that on my door and window, if one isn’t right, it shows up on the control panel. However, since I've knocked this thing off the wall, I keep looking over at the control panel, and it's not telling me anything. I’m also a little concerned about the glass indicator down in the basement. It has a light, but there’s no light on it.
I’m planning on calling ADT about it, but I have to set the time aside. When you call them, you have to plan on being on the phone for a while.

I’ve had a very good customer service experience with ADT. I’m satisfied with the service provided and have felt very confident with their system. I’ve been with them for over 20 years.
When I upgraded my system recently, the technician who came out was very professional and explained everything about the system. I’ve also called customer service for help replacing the battery, and they were very helpful as well.

I’ve been with ADT for 20 years, and we just upgraded. And the process was really good. The guy who came out was phenomenally experienced, and he did a good job explaining things and replacing things that were broken.

I can honestly say that ADT has been the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. From the very beginning, the experience was a complete nightmare—Frustrating, misleading, and filled with empty promises. The trouble started the moment their subcontracted sales rep stepped into my home. Instead of listening to what I actually needed, he immediately laid out piles of equipment—Most of it overpriced and unnecessary—And started pushing upsells like a used car salesman. There was no clear pricing. No transparency. Just pressure to commit to the most expensive items possible. And of course, it all gets bundled into a three-year contract that’s really just a financing plan disguised as security coverage. Once you’re locked in, they make sure you know there’s no easy way out.
The customer service? Abysmal. I lost count of the lies I was told, particularly around integration with Google. I was assured it would work seamlessly—Spoiler alert: It didn’t. I ended up stuck with a Google doorbell that didn’t match the rest of my system, which totally defeated the idea of building a smart home. Instead of one cohesive platform, I had multiple apps, each with limited functionality. ADT’s own app is clunky, outdated, and frustrating to use. If you want a smart home, just go with Google Home or something similar and skip this disaster entirely. Over the three years I had the system, not once did ADT respond to any alerts. Not for a glass break. Not for false alarms. Not even when I accidentally triggered the system myself. They never called. Never followed up. It was like paying for a security system that didn’t exist.
And even ending the contract felt like a scam. After paying thousands of dollars—over $3,500 for the equipment—I had to call at just the right time on just the right day to even get through the cancellation process. And when I finally reached someone, the rep made one last push to sell me another service, even though I made it clear I just wanted it to be over. Then, to top it all off, he informed me that my system might not even work anymore once it was deactivated—Even though I now own the equipment outright. So what did I pay for? I’ve never been more disappointed or frustrated with a company. From deceptive sales tactics to poor system performance, nonexistent customer support, and a shady cancellation process—ADT has earned its place at the very bottom of my list. Do yourself a favor: Don’t sign up. There are far better options out there.

I needed to try to get my bill lowered because I’m now a widow and living on a single widow’s income isn’t easy. ADT was great about it. They worked with me, gave me a good price with no hassles. They helped me a lot and it was a wonderful experience. I referred my brother right after I went to ADT and he also has it.
All my windows and doors are covered. My favorite feature is the remote control where I don’t have to go to the keypad on my way out the door ‘cause it’s on my key ring and I can just hit the button on the remote. I feel much safer with it than I would without especially since I’m by myself now. I get emails occasionally from ADT for updates, unless I call them.
Recently, I found out they took away my ADT app, and I would really like to have it back. It’s much easier on me than having to go to the website. I could just click the app and make my payment, whereas this last time I couldn’t do it. That’s when I found out it no longer existed ‘cause it wouldn’t work.

We would not have a house if we did not have ADT. So, we’re very happy with them because they saved our house when we had a house fire. What happened was that we had an electric chair catch on fire. And as soon as the smoke alarm went off, ADT called me, and I told them to call 911. And I got all the animals out of the house, and I called 911 to make sure ADT had called. And ADT did call like they were supposed to, and saved our house.
We're in a rental right now, and I have my own person to talk to because we obviously have to have the system reinstalled. And she gave me a quote for the insurance company. She sent it by email, so I didn’t have to wonder who I was talking with, the phone number, email, or any of those things. So, that was very helpful. I could just forward the email to whoever needed it.
So, I’ve been with them for 17 years, and I like their service, their products, their monitoring system, and their cameras. The price is also good for my budget. And their customer service has also been excellent.

ADT is fantastic. The sales representative was able to answer all my questions and thier pricing was decent. The installation team was good too. They cleaned up after themselves. My favorite feature is being able to set the alarm. I haven't had any problems with ADT.

I recently had a service call to replace 8 weak batteries. I was charged $221.54. Charge for walking through the door $59.00. Charge for initial 30 minutes $135.30. Batteries $12.75. Tax $14.49. The tech did not bring all the batteries required for my equipment. Now I will have to schedule another service call, so it will cost $59.00 plus $135.00 plus batteries and tax. I called to complain about charges and technician not bringing all batteries needed for the service call. The customer service agent said that is the charge for a service call, and technicians are not able to bring all batteries required. He refused to decrease the charge.

I’ve been with ADT for over 10 years. I’ve always had very good interactions, even online via chat. The technicians are great at problem-solving when you don’t know how to do something, like changing the battery or resetting the system.
I’ve only had one person I wasn’t getting anywhere with, and I escalated the call. It happened once. I’ve dealt with sales, customer service, and tech support without issues.
I haven’t had any problems with the performance. It never goes down, and the batteries last a long time. It’s easy to program, and you can choose which areas to arm and which to leave disarmed, especially when you’re home.
I get reports for any alarms, and they’re quick to call for accidents. I’ve never had a real alarm. It’s convenient to control the system from my phone, and my cameras are integrated with the system, which is a nice feature.
I feel very secure. They were also helpful when I set up the system, especially with how I like my outdoor lighting configured. Their setup has made me feel like I’ve done everything I can. If someone wants to get in, I suppose they could, I don’t want that happening while I’m home.
Recently, I updated their equipment since I hadn’t upgraded it in about 12 years. I did it mainly to switch to Google Nest cameras and related devices. With the upgrade, they now offer Google Nest, which lets you use an iPad to view your cameras. I like that. I can ask to see the driveway while walking through the living room, and when the doorbell rings, a picture pops up immediately and that’s nice. You can also speak to someone outside without opening the door. There’s a lot of safety features. I don’t have gas, so no carbon monoxide detector, but I do have a fire alarm connected.
The price has been fairly steady, though it went up for me with the upgraded system. They had a deal around Christmas, which is why I went for it. I initially called for a new camera, but after learning about the additional connections, I decided to upgrade since I could finance it with no added interest. That was nice.

ADT has been around for a while. I talked to an ADT gentleman a little bit of time ago. We were still under contract with another company so I had to wait till we got through with that. They were terrible. ADT came here to put some signs on some of my windows and in the yard. I like their signs. Those are deterrents. We also set off the alarm two times accidentally, but we had them turned off so fast, I don't think they had time to call.
I wanted the basic service. One thing I was quite disappointed and didn't understand was I paid $43-something for the service then they charged me a separate $20 which they said is additional for the equipment. I've never had to do that before. Some companies don't charge for the equipment and built it into the price they quote you. I’m paying $60-something and I didn’t want to pay that much.
When you sign for those things, you can't get out because you still have to make the payments. I had reason to cancel things, and I contacted my attorney. He says I can stop, but I thought to myself to get the service when I have to pay for it anyway. I just let it go for about two years, more than I had to go with them in the contract. I did talk to them about that but they said, "That's what we do." I was disappointed and that was the worst experience I've ever had with security.

I’ve been with ADT since July. The setup was easy and a lady, probably a salesperson, came out, explained what they would do and the cost, and told us that if we wanted to proceed, we could call her back to set up an installation appointment. I called her back after we talked to a couple of companies and decided which one we wanted.
The technician showed up at the time they said they would. Some of my equipment could be reused, but he had to run wires through the attic and basement. It was painless, he was a nice, neat guy, did what he had to do, and everything was fine.
It was nearly identical to what I had with another company. Basically, all the doors and windows are monitored, if someone opens one, the alarm goes off. That’s how I got it.
We could have had more, but I didn’t want all the extra cameras and equipment. For various reasons, that was more than I needed. I went with a minimal package, and it gave me exactly what I wanted.
We were paying annually with another company, and this was about the same price. I checked a few other companies, and the monthly fees were all within a few dollars of each other. Some had lower installation costs but higher monthly fees, others the opposite. The price wasn’t an issue.

I like the price and the service of ADT. I never really have any trouble out of my service. I reached out to them when I had low battery issue and they sent a battery to me.
I turn my system on at night before I go to sleep because I'm in the house most of the time by myself. When I push it on the one button to connect, it's taking a longer time than it used to. I'm standing there too long holding that button for it to connect. I’ve noticed it happening for the last two months.
Other than that, I wouldn't trade my service for any of them. And trust me, they all be trying to get my business. My price stayed the same all the time. And it's fair.

My experience with ADT was wonderful. I had a service representative stop by. They did an inspection, and then they let me know if they were to live here, what they would choose for their needs, and it worked for me. I had them set it up. I'm not trying to mess up anything. It took a couple of hours just because being in a new construction, nothing else had ever been previously set up, so they had to cut into the wall for the panel in the attic. I did get the smoke detectors. I just left it as is. I've had a very good customer service experience so far.

A guy from ADT came and did the new system. We pay that but we never happen to use it. The rep showed the new system. We have a sensor on every window. We would like to have a camera outside, but he said it was not necessary to have a camera with all the system I have inside the house.
I like that if someone came to the door, we can see it on our iPhone. That is my favorite feature. I'm satisfied. I know with all the systems that we have, we are very secure.

We were robbed in 2009, so we got a security system with ADT. The system is very easy to use. I’ve been very happy with it. I even figured out myself how to set up the alarm for every day when I upgraded. On the tablet, I love the fact that we have Google. When people came to the house, I said that I am with ADT and I’m very happy with their services.
I had a weird experience about two weeks ago. I had a group of people on Saturday morning, and that was the last I had on my camera. I heard some noises on the front and looked at the camera. I took the camera off the little bracket, put it back on, and looked. It was working then. Later when I checked on my phone, there was nothing from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday morning. I really don't know what happened there.
One time, the panel was chiming or beeping, and I couldn’t get in contact with ADT. In the morning, I finally did, and the rep told me what to do. They spoke in terms that I could understand. I appreciated that they were patient with me since I’m visually handicapped and a little bit slow. I was able to correct that issue.

We've had ADT for at least 15 years at our old house. We moved into a new house, and they told me to leave the old system there. I got a whole new system at the new house. The old system was good. There are some things I liked about it versus the new one. The old one had little feedback key fobs so when the system was armed, you would feel it. These key fobs would vibrate in your hands. With the new system, you don't even get feedback that it's armed. You could go to the website or the Plus on the phone, but what if you don't have your phone or it’s not working? You don't really know if you're armed or not. You get a blink and that's about it. The new system is great, though. I like it. I couldn't get a doorbell way back when I got the old system. I had to go to Ring or somebody else’s doorbell because ADT didn't have one. Now with Nest, they can do anything, and it's really compact. It sits on my counter and I don't even know that it's there half the time. It works nicely.
The guy who did the installation was absolutely wonderful. He knew the system very well. He helped us get our phones up and running. We're both 70 years old and we don't have the tech savvy that some of the younger kids have with the cellphones. He had us up and running, and everything was the way I like it. We also got an extra fob that we can use to arm the system at night instead of having to go to the panel, because sometimes we're not near it. It’s a guest panel and it works out great. If I have somebody who needs to get into the house that doesn't have one, I can give it to them, and they can get into the house when we're not available. The cameras are very clear too, and they work really well at night. The system is fabulous.
The only issue that we had is when we turned off the other system and unplugged the new one, I kept getting notifications from the old My ADT. It kept telling me that the system wasn't functioning properly and to check it. That probably went on for about a week. I called ADT and told them the old system has shut down, and I have a new one. Apparently, the old system didn't talk to the new system, or whoever took care of the old system didn't talk to the new system people, so I kept getting that error message all the time. At first, when it happened, I thought it was the new system, but it was the old one. I finally spent about half an hour on the phone with both people. We finally got it straightened out. Somebody was monitoring the old system and it wasn't even on.
Overall, I am thrilled with ADT. I didn't even look at going to any other system. I know it's working and it does what it needs to do. I have the system to protect my family. My kids are grown and moved away, but if they're here staying for a while, I know they're all protected here. If somebody breaks in, I won't have to shoot them. The price is a little bit on the higher side, but it's good service. I'm not upset about it at all.

I've been a customer with ADT for many years. I had them installed in my house 30 years ago. When moved into a new house a year ago, a different ADT system came with the house. They came out to put some add-ons and that went very well. I would tell anyone it was worth it and they should get one.

When I called ADT, they were very kind and came out. We have that big ADT sign out there and we're happy. As you're driving around, you see the signs saying ADT, which is a reminder to anybody that is going by that you have a security system. It is so easy to set the alarm and to turn it off. We are in our 70s and we find it user-friendly. However, after having been quoted the cost, it didn't take long for the price to keep going up. So, we were disappointed that we didn't buy any new equipment, but the price keeps going up.

I’ve had ADT for about a year now. I originally chose Alder, and then Alder sold out to ADT, so I just kept the service.
I did notice a couple of equipment issues. I’ve got an outside camera that hasn’t worked for about a year, but I don’t really care since I have a Ring doorbell. When they first took over, everything worked exactly the same. One day, I went to set my alarm, and it wouldn’t log on to the internet, so they sent a technician out. They said the screen was bad, but they couldn’t replace it and told me I had to buy all new equipment. I considered just going with Ring instead, and they offered me a deal to replace my equipment with something that supposedly would work with my screen. The same technician said he’d seen the same problem at a couple of houses in the neighborhood. Then, three days later, the screen started working again. A month later, they called to say the new equipment had arrived, and I told them to send it back since the old stuff was working.
Overall, the system quality now is good. I use it mainly to know if someone opens my door and comes into my house while I’m asleep. For the cost, it is about the same as before, about $55 a month. My daughter just bought a complete Ring system herself, and it costs way less per month, and it sounds like it does the same thing. But not enough for me to want to change anything, so I'll just leave it the way it is until it quits working and they don't want to fix it.

We like that there is security provided by ADT on all the doors coming into the house. It gives us peace of mind, and they offer good pricing too. We got a little discount from being members of USAA. Our system works fine, and we have not had any issues over the years. We used to have some cameras inside, but we had a cat and some dogs that were setting things off, so we took those out. The cameras are now just on the doors and windows.
The fire alarm has gone off a couple of times when somebody wasn't watching what they were cooking. When the smoke alarm went off, ADT called immediately. We were not at home during that time, but my son was there. So they called our neighbor and our neighbor was able to give them the code. That worked well.

We were purchasing our home, and ADT was one of the recommended security services that was very popular throughout our neighborhood. ADT is a really fabulous and very reputable company. I would absolutely recommend them if you want your home safe. The guy who installed it gave us his cellphone number if there's any kind of problem and we couldn't get through right away. He showed everything. We’re very happy. They’re very attentive.
The system is for my daughter’s safety and we're very satisfied. Our favorite feature is the alarm. We have the handheld remote and she walks into the house and puts the alarm on. The functionality is perfect. I probably would have wanted to know more options on where to have it installed. We have it on the table. We would like to have it mounted someplace else. That was one question that we didn't get an answer to. But that's one of the smallest things.

I’ve been with ADT 25 years. I was with Protection One then switched to ADT because I think they merged. I like the 24/7 monitoring and customer service is very good too. We have outdoor cameras, which makes me feel very comfortable with. There were a couple of issues with my keypad where it was a Wi-Fi problem, but that was resolved.

The ADT sales representative was good, and the installation was cool. But, the first guy was super lazy. And then they came back and hardwired everything in. He just put me in remotely. What’s the point of having a security camera if everybody can see you pulling them down to get the battery going again, to recharge it?
He was a good guy, but I didn’t understand how everything worked either. I did not understand how they work with Google, and I did not know they changed their system. I paid for a year in advance a year ago, and I paid another a year in advance about two months ago. Overall, I’m happy with my service, and everything’s up and running. I’d recommend them.

I’ve had ADT for about seven or eight years. They are very efficient and professional, and I’ve had no problems with them. My system feels very secure, and if my alarm goes off, they contact me to ask if everything is okay. I really like their promptness. I think the cost is reasonable, especially with the way the economy is right now.
Recently, I had to call when I had to change the batteries in my smoke detector. I had to reset the panel again, because changing the battery affects the panel. They walked me through the process over the phone.
The only issue I’ve had is with outdoor cameras. I called about getting one, but they were telling me they were with Google, and it wasn't a fit for me. I’m happy with ADT overall, but I'm not happy because they're not providing outdoor cameras for my protection around my property.

I was actually about to go to Home Depot and just get my own little system to put up because it’s way much cheaper, but the ADT representative sold me on their system. My Realtor had recommended them, and the lady who called was such a sweet person.
The installer was great, too. He sat down and showed me this, that, and the other, and really stepped me through everything. The system is actually very easy to navigate and it's not difficult, so I wasn't scared to touch it. I feel like the more you do it, the better you get. There are some things I still want to learn about it. I just have to sit down and take my time and do it. My favorite feature is definitely being able to navigate through the system when I'm away from home.
I feel 100% secure and feel very safe with my ADT system. It even picks up every little bitty bug that flies into the camera, which doesn’t annoy me at all. If it can pick that up, I know it can pick up other things. The price is fair for the system I chose, and I have no complaints. I just need to get with customer service because I want the payment to come out from a different card.

I've had ADT for probably close to 30 years now. I had the old wire system, and they upgraded it to wireless when I redid my house. The installer was fantastic. It works great. I had no issues with them at all. My favorite feature is that the alarm goes off when you open the doors.
I had a problem with the system once, it wouldn't clear. So I called them, and their customer service answered. They hooked me up with a woman in Texas, who talked me through how to reboot it, and it's been fine.
The sense of security is good because the house and the garage are on the system. Every door and window that's available to break or crawl in, as well as the basement windows, is on an alarm.
They also put my sub pumps on the alarm, in my crawl space if it ever gets water in there. I was cleaning it in the basement one-time, and I got it wet. It then sets off the alarm, so that works. I've been here 45 years and never had water in there yet, but they put them in.

I knew about security systems. It was a matter of seeing who was available and who had a good reputation. With ADT, the pricing was reasonable. They came in and installed. It was a breeze. The features have all been working fine. I've had no issues with the alarm itself. I like the simplicity.

ADT is a reputable security company, and I’ve been with them for quite a while now. They’ve treated me pretty good. I feel safe with the service, even when I’m on vacation. They’ve actually called me while I was away. I love it.
The representatives have been really good and helpful. When my cameras went out, I called, and they walked me through how to get them working again on my phone. They handle everything in a professional way, and I appreciate the help. They’re knowledgeable about what they do.
The system isn’t complicated to use, and I enjoy working with it. Whenever I need to call, I’m always able to get through. It’s not hard to contact them. They prompt me through the options and answer my call. My favorite part is the cameras, and I also like that the system can detect fire as well as an intruder.

I’ve had ADT for a few years after my previous company was sold to them. My experience with them has been good. They’re a big company and do a great job monitoring. I have some of the newer features like cameras and sensors. I manage the system using the phone app, which is pretty easy to use. I’ve only needed one repair since installation because one of the sensors was acting up.

Do not join ADT. Customer service is awful. Install is awful and incomplete. Customer service is combative and blames the customer. They lie about their services and abilities to complete tasks. Hidden costs and no education on installed equipment. They are a terrible company.

I live by myself, and there’s been a lot of activity in my area. Even though I have a dog, it’s a little unnerving since thieves are getting bolder about how they will go into a house. Because of that, I wanted a little more protection and made my way to ADT. The salesperson I spoke to set up the installation, and he was very professional and helpful. He helped me add more to the minimal equipment that was set up over the phone, and he didn’t pressure me. I feel like I got as much as I wanted. They suggested the carbon monoxide tester and a smoke detector, but I didn’t want those. I’m pleased with the setup. He also explained the system to me so I understand it. The system and the app are very easy to use that I was able to set up my neighbors to also have access to my system.
I have Ring cameras, but it doesn’t do a lot of good if I’m sleeping at night and I don't hear an alert. I also have window sensors and glass break sensors. Sometimes if my dog shakes his head a certain way, the glass break sensor will go off, so I put masking tape around his tag. But I do feel safer, especially going to bed at night. Having ADT, I know that I will be awakened should anything happen.
Their website is helpful, but sometimes it’s hard to find the exact answer to a question. I wish there was a more detailed manual with the questions and answers about things. One time, I called them to ask a question. I forgot to turn off the alarm system before opening the sliding door to let my dog out, and I didn’t get the 30-second delay to turn off the system. The person researched it for me and was able to change the setting for that while I was on the phone. I was very pleased with that interaction.

I just built a house and a guy from ADT left a card in my door. He helped us get everything started and everything’s been going smooth. The installation team showed my wife how to get the camera working so she could see it from her phone. I was able to get it on my phone as well when I got there. We love it especially being able to see who’s at my door.

I wanted some sort of service that would alert to the police if someone were to try to break in because of a situation that occurred in my home. At that time, ADT was one of the only services that offered such service and everything else just had camera activity. But cameras are pointless if you can't be alerted. So, I purchased from ADT and the system is doing fine. But I plan to look into other services or see what else ADT has, because I want more camera features. Currently, I have two different doors and I want to be able to add more than one option for a doorbell camera. I have a front doorbell, but it only came with one back camera, and it doesn't have a recording functionality.
So I was hoping for something to be able to capture multiple angles, multiple cameras, and an additional doorbell. I also want to be able to catch what's on the cameras because capturing live motion only doesn't really help if something may have occurred to be able to know what was going on. Aside from that, I also want a inside camera, if that's ever an option. Other than that, ADT's service is good and I haven't had any issues. What I'm paying monthly is affordable and I know that the system works because thee had been times where my daughter forgot to turn it off and I got the phone call about it. They're pretty quick, so I appreciate that.

4-14-2025. I have written one review before & this is my second one. I've been a customer since 2021. As others have stated, it appear the company's bottom line is money & they don't care that they were hacked (never let me know, I discovered it myself when I went online). I discovered the cameras they put in my house are all hackable, the entire system is hackable & in 2021 I told the company I have a hacker living next door & lots of hackers in the Boro, so they knew yet they put a hackable system in my house, when they should have installed the closed circuit tv instead. The salesman sold me the wrong system & they want to pay for his mistake. I continue to be BURGLARIZED AND I HAVE ADT. I discuss all the time w/ all their employees but they have never resolved my complaint because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.
Also my modem went offline & they want me to pay them another installation fee just to reset them back online when I had already had them over because I had to get a new camera in the front so they were at my house that day & could have reset the others as well but Jamie in the Pittsburgh PA office told them I would have to pay more money to just put my 3 other cameras back online. I tried to get ADT to work with me to fix this but they refuse. I will not be paying for their employee's mistake. The question is why would their manager choose cameras that were hackable to be installed when I told him & everyone else there that I live next door to a hacker? It is strange unless he is part of the burglary ring & knows that if he would put the Closed Circuit TV in his gang wouldn't be able to steal from my house anymore.
They did have one employee who had gained entry online of a woman's interior, they did catch him. I will have to sue ADT because I have wasted lots of my precious time going back & forth with this issue & they refuse to do the right thing. Had they done the right thing & did as I suggested we would never have had all the issues I had to go through. THEY ARE VERY POOR W/ COORDINATING WITH EACH DEPT & SUPERVISORS/MANAGERS TELL YOU ONE thign then someone tells you something else. The Pittsburgh Office doesn't abide by what the Upper Management office tells them, they just ignore them.

I extended my service after moving to a new home in 08/26/2022 with a contract, they never disclosure about price increases during the contract, but during this 2 1/2 years almost 3 times. We called today asking about the increase and they answered it is what it is, and do wherever you want. But is not like this went they come to your house to offer you a service and just take your money. But researching I found this: the contract often includes a provision allowing you to object to the increase in writing within a specific timeframe (usually 30 days) and to terminate the contract without penalty if ADT doesn't waive the increase. They never informed us about the price increases during not even calling us or underwriting. This is very dishonest from adt. I advise people not to take any services or purchase any products with adt.

They told me that cancellation if effective 30 days after I called. This is just a ripoff. ADT is sending me bills to pay for a service that does not exist. This is a ripoff.

My husband and I had ADT at our previous address at Florham Park, NJ. We moved at the end of June 2024 to Port Monmouth, NJ. We are owed $194.63 for the service not provided since the move. We called on March 11, 2025 to inquire and complain and were promised a new check would be mailed to our new address. Today, April 14, 2025, I have spent over 42 minutes on ADT customer service phone line with no solutions offered other than a "promise to email billing" to see what is happening and a "promise for a call back from the supervisor later'.

Dishonest sales person sold us a system that wasn't even allowed in our state, after we made crystal clear we needed monitored fire and burglary per our insurance policy. We called to get some basic info, because we didn't know how many smoke alarms we'd need in this new build; but then the sales rep said we could buy the hub and some sensors and call back and add the smoke alarms later. When we called to add them, we were told that we couldn't add smoke detectors under any circumstances; it took many calls to finally get someone to share the reason about some policy specific to our state. Either the sales rep knew and was dishonest, or there is zero training and no systems to alert sales reps what can actually be sold to a customer.
Lots of calls to try to get the system completed and more dishonesty, hang ups and lack of any kind of training from the reps we dealt with. We've now wasted a lot of money and need to start from scratch with a local company. Dealing with them has been very frustrating, and they really don't care about their customers' experience in any way, shape or form. Clearly, this is a shady company with terrible service, so AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I purchased a business and "inherited" ADT home security. I couldn't be more disappointed. I've dealt with ADT for about 9 months now and have had multiple alarm sensors fail and new sensors mailed to me which also fail within a couple of months. ADT needs to rely less on their outsourced call center for customer service and more on their actual in-person customer service. Beware as well of the contract length. I called today to cancel service and they stated that my contract isn't up for another 2 years and I'd have to pay the remaining contract balance. This is just completely frustrating. What's worse is this security system is for a dog kennel and the alarm constantly goes off because of the bad sensors. I feel so bad for the dogs and I will continue to take action against this awful company.

I’ve been a loyal ADT customer for over 9 years. In January 2021, I contacted them to cancel my services due to relocation. Despite clear communication and assurance that my account was closed, I discovered in March 2025 that it remained active. ADT continued billing me for services I did not use or authorize. I have both business and residential accounts with ADT, which made it difficult to notice the unauthorized charges among the legitimate ones. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, including a recent call where ADT promised resolution within 24-48 hours, no action has been taken. This negligent behavior is unacceptable. I feel deceived and demand a full refund for the period since 2021. For any future customers, I would advise you to be aware of their billing department since it’s not trustworthy.

I could give zero stars I would. This company is a SCAM. PREDATORY LENDING TO UNASSUMING CUSTOMERS. Upon trying to relocate, we are told we owe thousands of dollars upfront for equipment we ultimately won't own or ever be able to use again in a new home. THEN they want us to purchase new equipment and start a new plan???? I'm not sure what world this makes sense in. Will never use ADT again and will make sure all and any new homeowner I come in contact with stays far away from this scam of a company.

I regret ever signing up with ADT. The system has never worked properly, and every attempt to get support has been a nightmare. They scheduled service appointments and then canceled them without notifying me — costing me time and lost wages. Despite multiple calls, they refused to send anyone out or resolve the issues.
Now they say I’m locked into a contract for a year with no working service, and they’re unwilling to waive early termination fees even though they’ve failed to hold up their end of the agreement. This is not just bad customer service — it’s a breach of contract. Avoid ADT at all costs. You're better off with a company that actually values its customers and stands behind its product.

I really hope that I can raise this rating, but I have never been so unhappy with a company. We switched to ADT a year ago from our previous alarm company because I was not happy with that company. I had heard great things about ADT. Well, they were WRONG! I have had nothing but problems with the equipment and I am not getting the help I need from the management. Our doorbell camera keeps breaking and they are NOT helping AT ALL, either with prioritizing getting it fixed or helping with the cost of replacement/switching to a different model.

I installed ADT in 2019. I was happy with their service. In 2023 I sold my home. I called and disconnected the service and asked what else needed to be done with the equipment. ADT nothing else was required. The next month the payment was taken out of my bank. I called and said it had been canceled. They said they'd take care of it. This went on for several months. Then I got a bill demanding a huge disconnect fee. ADT is horrible dishonest. They lie, cheat and steal. They turned my account over to collections. I was forced to pay it. Do not use this company unless you want a world of hurt.

I have been an ADT customer for over 5 years. I was informed by the sales representative that when switching over to the new panel I would be able to use my existing ones which was a lie. I have been on the lines from 9 am to 5 pm with no resolutions. I kept being transferred from one person to the other who are all clueless. My doorbell camera hasn’t worked in over 2 years. I’ve called and been through the steps numerous amount of times. They won’t send a technician and act like it’s just my problem. This is for a service that I pay for they never brought my ADT security signs to put my yard or anything as promised.

Support was horrible while trying to get help after hours regarding my camera not working. My power had gone off and the system was offline. Was chatting with representatives which took 5-7 minutes for a response between questions she was asking. Questions were being asked that should have been obvious.

Do NOT trust ADT. This company is a complete scam. I called them TWO TIMES, three months ahead of my cancellation date, to cancel my service. Both times, I was told it was fine to keep the service because I had two extra months—absolutely no mention of any further issues. Fast forward to today, and when I try to cancel, they hit me with a 30-day notice requirement and say they need to charge me an extra 30 DAYS!
This is straight-up theft. I’ve been completely misled by their incompetent staff, and now they’re trying to take even more money from me for a service I’ve already tried to cancel multiple times. The lack of accountability and the blatant dishonesty is shocking. Stay far away from ADT unless you want to be treated like garbage and robbed of your hard-earned money. They don’t care about their customers at all.

I have had ADT as a security company a few times in the past. I am currently a customer, and I have contacted ADT multiple times to discuss cancelling my service contract early. I explained my situation to several customer service representatives, along with a supervisor, but to no avail will they allow an early termination of the contract. My parents had ADT, my husband and I had it and it reduced the insurance on our home. We discontinued it, but we still got the alert when a door or window was open. When my husband passed, I got the new equipment in 2019, and it’s working, but I’ve never armed it. I had some workers in the house, and they must have disconnected the system or the power was out, and it said I needed to arm it. I didn’t know which button to punch, ended up I hit the wrong one that was going to bring the fire department and the ambulance out. So, I called ADT and told them it was a false alarm, they said they had taken care of it, and lo and behold, there was a fire truck. But they’ve been helpful. When I needed to change batteries, they sent me new ones, and they walked my brother-in-law through how to change them. That was the first time I've had to change them since I got the new system. I feel safe and comfortable having it. I didn’t realize I’m paying for it once a year, wasn’t in agreement with that, but it is what it is.

I’m not very happy with ADT. I’m actually thinking about canceling it. The batteries in all the smoke alarms started going crazy, and we’re seniors, so we can’t climb up on the ceiling to change them. I had to hire someone just to come and take them down.
The main battery on the system is constantly showing an alert. The last time a technician came out, he never fixed it. At this point, I just want to remove the whole thing and forget about it. We have very high ceilings, and even a normal ladder doesn’t work. I don’t know why the installer put it so high up in the first place. Now, everywhere I go in the house, either an alarm is constantly chirping or there are holes in the ceiling. I’m literally frustrated, and it’s expensive too.
The door sensor is also constantly showing a critical battery. I don’t like all of that nonsense. And when technicians come out, they want to charge a service fee. That should be included in what we’re already paying for every month. I’m shopping around for something else that I can manage myself without extra charges, and then I’m going to get rid of ADT.

I’ve been with ADT for over 20 years. I lived in my previous house for 16 years and had ADT there, and I was paying a reasonable amount. After I moved and built a new house, I’m now paying three times as much. Because of that, I’m really not happy with the monthly service, and eventually I’ll be looking into another provider.
I called ADT about it about a year after moving into the new house, but the conversation didn’t go anywhere. They knew I had transferred from another house. What I didn’t understand was that there was no effort to retain me as a customer, no attempt to say, “Let’s try to match close to what you were paying before.” They told me no, that I signed the contract and that was it.
I would’ve been okay with it even if it had been $5 or $6 more. But going from what I used to pay to almost two and a half times that amount feels very tasteless, especially after being a customer for so long. I’m very disappointed.
The system itself does work for me. I haven’t had any major issues. The only thing is that one of the sensors fell off, and they sent me a new one. I’ve disabled it for now because it’s in a location I don’t really worry about anyone entering. Other than that, I haven’t had any problems. I think there’s some kind of maintenance fee included in my plan, so I didn’t have to pay anything for that replacement.

ADT offered me nothing, and they declined everything I asked for. They’re horrible. They don’t solve my problems. They sent out one or two technicians, and all they did was change a battery. That’s about it.
I would love for them to call me and say, “Hey, let’s upgrade your plan,” or do something to enhance it, but they haven’t. In the last three or four years, I haven’t spoken to anyone who actually helped me. They haven’t reached out to me in quite some time.

My experience with ADT has always been wonderful, and we’ve had them for 11 years, so I’m not going to change. When the alarm goes off, they call and do what they’re supposed to do.
Just recently, they upgraded the cameras, motion sensors, and even the front doorbell. The installer was wonderful. After he finished, he explained everything, how to use it and all of that.

I’ve had ADT for years, and I know the system works. I honestly haven’t even thought much about the features of the system. I don’t really know of any other companies out there. I’ve heard of people using smaller companies and not getting the same response time. I haven’t had any issues with my system at all.
The cost could definitely be cheaper, though. It’s gone up every year, I think. I’ve tried to upgrade my equipment with ADT, but they’re very expensive. They’re probably the number one home security system, so they can do that. I did look into switching, but I just didn’t.

I’ve had ADT before for different places. I like my ADT, but I wish that I had the box that hung on the wall like the old style. I don’t like the canister thing. I wanted outside cameras, and the guy said he wasn’t able to put outside cameras because where the internet box was located in my house, it wouldn’t reach it. But overall, I’m satisfied with it, it’s just too expensive. I could buy a shotgun shell for 50 cents. My shotgun is cheaper.

I’m not happy with ADT because of the very fine print where once you sign up, you’re stuck with it for three years. I actually tried to shut it off, but they were going to charge me for the full three years. When I called to talk to them, they didn’t even mention that or say I was committing for three years when I signed it, and that just doesn't make me happy.
I feel like they need to be more upfront about that. I think they avoid it because they know people probably won’t do it if they knew.

I got the ADT system and it worked, but I would tell anyone interested to do their homework and find out a little bit more before they get anything from them. I got a text saying it was an outage, and after that, the battery went low. I charged it and put it back on, but it wasn’t even a month before it asked me to change the battery again. I put it back out there and it’s been offline ever since.
I called maybe three days before the warranty went out. ADT told me they were sending me over to that company, but when that company called me back one day before the warranty go out, he suggest for me to just wait and let ADT deal with the situation because by that time, it would be too late.
When I call ADT back, I’m at work, and they want me to do all this stuff on the door camera, but I keep telling them I can’t do it. They asked me to reschedule online, but nobody never came and nobody never called me. I did what the lady asked with the PIN to reset it, but none of that is working. They can’t really help me because the stuff they ask me to do is not working. I got fed up.
The security system for the house works, but the doorbell thing that they say come with it, that’s what’s not working. I thought when they come up to the door and ring, it would let me know somebody’s at the door, but it does not do that. The lady said I had to buy another component, it’s like in order for one thing to work, I have to buy another thing and another thing. I don’t need all that and I don’t have money for all that because I just bought this house.

I’ve had ADT for almost 20 years now, and everything’s been going fine. I got all my equipment from them and I don't have no problem with them at all. My favorite thing is the little box where I can monitor my cameras, call somebody, and even listen to music on.
When my alarm goes off, they answer me right back real quick. Whenever I call for something I need, they always answer me real fast, too. The only thing, though, is that sometimes there’s a long waiting list when you call. But overall, I’ve had a good experience with ADT.

It was time to switch providers after 13 years with Vivint because they started taking advantage and not caring about the customer. I’ve heard good things about ADT. I’ve had them for a little over a month and it’s been great so far. I’ve enjoyed it. The guy who installed the system was really good at what he does. He was very knowledgeable and was a joy to work with. The motion detection for the vehicles is a plus. Vivint had it, but it wasn’t near as precise as ADT’s.

ADT has been wonderful. The house that I bought had it, so I rolled with it. I’ve been happy with everything, that’s why I haven’t switched. Their system works well. I did stuff for my parents yesterday with them and they were terrific.
Our front door is keyless entry. I didn’t realize when we first put the system in that it was low battery alert. We got locked out and that’s how we find out. But now, I have the alert all the time that says our battery is running low. We’ll never be locked out again. I just wish there was a way that we know that the batteries are gonna go or are running out before they do across all the systems because, for some reason, it always goes off at 3 o’clock in the morning and that’s not comfortable.

We’ve always had ADT in New York. When I moved to Alaska, I kept it because I have children and I have a lot of expensive stuff and it keeps my stuff protected. Having it, I am also able to sleep because I work away from home.
Customer service has always been good for me. They’ve been very helpful and courteous. They answer when you call them. My favorite features are the alert I get from the system and their response time. If something goes wrong, I always get a phone call or an alert. There was one time, in my old house, ADT reached out to me because my kids were at home and opened the door. They couldn’t get to the system or can’t remember what the password was when they were in school. Or if the smoke alarm goes off if my wife is cooking and she can’t get to it or reach it because she’s short, they always call.

ADT’s reputation had me to use their service and they’ve been pretty good so far. I’m getting up in age and it makes me feel like I’m safer. If something occurred, they give me an opportunity to react to it.
In the years that I’ve had it, it’s only twice that they’ve been unable to help me solve the problem. I had to make two calls where I was unable to resolve an issue with my camera on both occasions and was not able to get it done through their online tech support. They had to send a technician out and there’s a cost involved in it. Their tech came out and resolved my problem. I was there watching and one of the issues was on one of my side cameras. I’m 71 years old and I couldn’t climb that high on a ladder because I get dizzy. But on the other occasions, they could talk me through resolving it online.
ADT costs a little more than others but it’s easy to monitor and look at issues with them. Their app is pretty good. It’s simple to use and I can do most things through it.

My alarm system from ADT is fine. But I’m not happy about the monthly bill. It sucks that it keeps going up every single year, without even telling me it's going up. When I got it off my credit card, I was like, look at it, another increase.
I mean, it's not gonna break the bank, I started paying out at like 52. But it's like nothing's changed, and they never had to come to my house. So, what am I paying for? I actually did reach out to anybody one time.
I had a power surge and it blew the battery in my digital setting. I had to buy my own battery, and it wasn't even a year old when it happened. But I had to purchase my own battery and then my son had to come over and change it for me.
It's a good company. I am satisfied with it. I love its quality. It's great, and it makes me feel safe. I like that I can do it off of my phone. It tells me if my grandson's sneaking out the door. It's more the reputable one, but to negotiate the billing.

Everything is all right, so far. I feel safe with it. I feel really safe with it. I put my alarm on and my doorbell camera. It always lets me know when somebody is pulling up outside. So, I like it.

Everybody I ask says ADT is really good. And thank God we have no problems at all. Somebody just calls us right away every time we forget to deactivate it. I never used it before, and I have never had any communication from ADT. I think only through the alarm one time.
We just got the protection, and we know we are protected with ADT. We haven't had an opportunity that you or the police to come, or you have to talk to the monitor over here, and I hope it didn't happen.
But we know, and I have confidence that ADT will respond if something happens. Every time somebody asks me, I just say we have ADT, and we are confident the house is protected.

Honestly, ADT was the only one I really attempted to use. They were great. My alarm is connected to my cell phone and not a landline. So, every once in a while I get a call saying that it's not online and it's not working right now
And then I guess it gets fixed within a couple of minutes. It's not a big deal, but that's happened probably about four times.

I contacted them a few times, and they’ve been absolutely very professional and responsive. My system had gone out once or twice over the years and their response was good. They have handled the few problems that came up. So, I don't have any problems and complaints at all.

I already had ADT for 20 years. It had nothing to compare it against. So I can't tell much about it except that I like it. The cost and quality of it are all right. I would like it to be a little cheaper, but it's okay.
They just need stronger tape on their little attachments for the doors. I've got one I've had to reattach about six times.

We had ADT at our prior residence when we lived out in the county. It was on a dead-end road, so it was really justified at that point. When we moved over to our present home, it just didn't seem right not to have it, so we went ahead and signed up for it and got it moved to here.
I've only had to call ADT once and it was because of my fault. I got to the board later than what I needed to and then the alarm had gone off. There was a door that was open. So, my only contact with ADT at that point was that one time. I gave them the password and it was all okay. Everything worked out.
With ADT, I feel better whenever we're away from the house. ADY is always there. Because of medical issues, we're always away, and it's nice knowing that there's somebody looking over the house.

I’ve been pleased with ADT since I got it three years ago. My husband passed away, so I needed to feel comfortable living by myself. My son has it and told me about it, so I called them.
At first, I would forget to turn it off when I walked in the house because it was something new to me. Every time that they would call and check, they were really nice and I'd explained to them I just get there fast enough. And they're, "Oh, that's fine. That's what we're here for." One-time, I didn't realize that the back door was open. Actually, a policeman showed up to see if everything was okay. I was really surprised. I felt very comfortable with it and I don't have any complaints whatsoever.
We had to contact them once because we left all of the doors open. It was really hot that day and I had a lot of family with me. And the battery run down. I called them about it, and they were very nice, told me to give it a certain amount of time. And if it didn't recharge, they said that, on their own, they would have somebody come out to change it. And it did recharge on its own, so I didn't even need to contact them again. The few times I've had any contact with them at all, I've been very pleased. I feel very secure when I leave and when I come back.

I had ADT in the past and had an account with them that I wasn’t utilizing. I called them up and reactivated it, and doing that was very easy. The system is excellent. We have cameras outside of our house, and we can see the animals through them. My wife really enjoys that. I’ve had ADT for about five years now. I heard about them from a friend. I didn’t even look around for other companies. I like that I can just turn on an alarm. Their cost of service, $50 a month, is too high. For that amount, I could buy Ring and have it paid off in a year.

I'm 73 years old, and I've had ADT for years. The house was already built when we got ADT. I don't know if ADT was the only one in the area then, but my husband chose them. My husband has since passed away, and I’m on a fixed income now. Over the years, ADT has gone up. They don't want to seem to give me a senior citizen or veteran discount. I asked them and they told me no. I know somebody that I go to church with who’s older than me, and ADT got her a discount because she told them she didn’t need them anymore.
I’ve always been pleased with them and never switched to any other company even when another company knocked on my door. If the doors or windows are open, or if somebody tries to open the door, the alarm goes off. I feel pretty secure about that, and that’s also because I don't live in a bad neighborhood. The few times that I’ve called them were when the battery got low and the alarm went off. The last time, I had to pay to replace the battery. I had to climb up on a ladder and stand on the top of my washing machine to put the battery in the box.
The system works fine. One time, in the middle of the night, they called the police. The police looked around the house and didn’t see anybody. They also called me once and said my house is on fire. I told them it’s not. They sent the fire trucks out here anyway. The smoke detector, I don’t know if it was ADT’s or if it was already in the house before. When the fire department got here, they unscrewed it and smoke came out of it. They later replaced it.
I had a doorbell that got disconnected from Google Hub when it snowed back in February amd the temperatures dropped low. I didn’t feel like paying $98 for a service charge for them to come out here. They don’t know how to hook it back up to the Google Hub because it’s a wireless doorbell. I went wireless because I’m afraid for an electrician to come in here and tell me they need to rewire the house. That’s gonna cost me money. I’ve really had no problem with ADT, except for the price, which is $58 a month.

The ADT system seems to work very well. We can access it on our iPhones, and it’s been working well. But I have an issue with the install. I also have an issue with the Google Nest doorbells, but that’s not on ADT.
I wanted a door lock from ADT for an older door. It has a window on it and the frame is really close to the hole where the deadlock goes in. The guy tried to put the lock on. He probably shouldn’t have tried it because the lock wouldn’t align enough to fit against the door. It was off on an angle. He put it in, and it did hold, but it fell off after about three or four times I used it. I called another representative, and he said that the technician should have never installed the lock. I had to return the lock. It took some time, but I finally got the credit put to my account after a couple of calls. But I didn’t get my old lock back and I still had the hole in the door. Because of that, I had to pay a locksmith to install a deadbolt and a regular door handle and key set to fix the problem. I’m a little upset about that because that cost me almost 200 bucks.
My issue with the Google Nest doorbells is that they don’t ring inside the house. There’s no device for them to ring. I’ve been looking for one. I just get a little ding on my phone, and by the time I see it, the person’s gone. It does record, and the cameras work. It functions fine that way. But there’s no device to put in the house to hook that thing up so that it’ll ring like a regular doorbell. That’s a problem. If has ADT has some device that it’ll ring on, I’d gladly get it.

I heard about ADT from previous people that have it. I got it because it was easier than a lot of other security companies to get. Their advertisement is straight to the point. As far as I call them, they come out, assess, tell me what and how many I could get, and they go from there.
One thing I don’t like about them is they offer certain things to new clients, and that’s not what they do. I noticed they advertise that if someone has an insurance company, they get a discount. But they offer me different things. They came and added things to the house. It went very well. I wasn’t upset about their service at that time.
They give little windows and doors, but I think they should add more. Now, everything is up to date, doorknobs, cameras, and stuff like that. They say they offer that to new clients, but they’re not really giving them to the new clients. There’s other security companies that have better technology. I just had them because I know more people had ADT for so long.
One thing I don’t like about the alarm is it takes so long for the actual loudness to come sometimes, but if it gets really loud, it sounds like a fire alarm. It doesn't go off until I actually turn it off or ADT contacts me.
I had a day where I was at work, and my alarm went off. ADT couldn’t contact me because I was in a meeting. They called the person that I have on my contact list. I really appreciated that. I just wish they had better technology, but I like their service.
One thing I do like about them is the pricing, but I don’t like how long I have to be with them. I don’t like the 36-month thing because what if I move or don’t want any longer. Overall, the performance of the system was great as far as the functionality.

I have been with ADT for 30 years. I’ve had no problems with them. The customer service has been good. The only problem was that we’ve been a long-term customer, and my husband passed away in 2023. I called to change the account. A rep came out, gave me a new box, took out two motion detectors, and gave me a new smoke detector.
That only happened because I was changing the account. There was no contact for years about updating my system. Their long-term customers seem to be forgotten until they have to create an issue, and they don’t really check up on customers.

The salesman that they had bombarded us with the first night that we bought the house didn't give me all the information before I signed up. I didn't realize that we only had three days to decide if we wanted the service or not. We couldn't get out of the contract because it was already too late.
Then, to find out that the person wasn't even with ADT. They were with a third party called SafeStreets. The system was okay, but it's not the best either. We've had to have one service call because they had to give us a whole new doorbell camera, and the connection isn't always the best.
Another thing was the first guy that came out to give us the equipment didn't even give us an ADT camera. It was a different type of camera. Then we got the service call with an actual ADT representative, and he is the one that brought out the actual ADT camera. It was a little sketch at first.
I usually do the chat first whenever I need an agent. We haven't had any issues recently. The last time we had an issue was last year. My experience hasn't been the best. Honestly, if I could get out of my contract with ADT, I would definitely do that a long time ago. It's just not worth spending the 75% payoff on it.

I had ADT before when I was in another home 20 years ago. Then I went to another company and then I went back to them. Everything is good except one communication with them. I’ve got a backyard camera and I can’t find anybody that’s been able to help me to get it back online. So I’m a little disgruntled about that. I need to start making phone calls again and it’s time-consuming.
I’ve had the system for three years and then they went up for less than $10. It wasn’t a shock, but it would have been nice to have a letter or an email telling me that. Instead, they just hit by automatic credit card and no word from them so that was disappointing. Other than that, the overall operation of the system is good and I like it. I feel safe because it’s a good system. I like that I’m able to arm and disarm on the app. ADT is worth looking into.

In a lot of ways ADT has saved my life. I hit the Ambulance button yesterday and fell into it. They responded quickly and that’s what we need ‘cause our service department sucks here in Davidson County. The system is doing good now. At first, it was kind of fuzzy, but I was just learning it. For every little bitty thing, I thought it was something or somebody. But now, I can tell the difference between trees and people. The customer service is awesome. One person I talked to wasn’t so friendly but we all have bad days. But for the most part, I like it.

ADT is a crook and I’m no longer interested with the service. Right now, they’re overcharging me. All I did was order a lock which they told me was supposed to be $240. And now, they fraudulently charged my credit card for over $500 for that one lock. So I told them I no longer want their services.
They fraudulently created contracts and said that I signed these contracts. My name is spelled incorrectly in so many different ways. Also, no contract was ever presented to me before. I called them and it reached all the way up to their executive office. But they’re still not trying to get rid of the charges and they keep on sending me a bill.
Someone came to the house the first time. According to them, they have three separate contracts for me, none of which makes sense because the very first one, the signature is spelled out and it was not my signature. The initial is not my initial either. I don’t know who did it but I’ve been requesting for them to send me the contract that they promised but no one ever sent me that.
When I got into the service with them, they were charging me over 2,000 something for the equipment, which was paid. I was speaking to the CEO and he himself was shocked. He was looking at the contract which shows like it’s a free service because it shows that I didn’t pay anything for the equipment.
I asked how it was possible. They even produced me with a $50 rebate and I have the signature of that rebate. That was on the first contact. For another contact, supposedly it was created and it has been renewed. They were claiming that I signed that signature via DocuSign, which I know nothing about. I checked my email and my services but I cannot find anything from ADT. They never sent me anything and I never received anything from them.
They can’t produce me anything except for showing me some signatures. The next thing is that one of them is indicating that I was already in a contract, paying $19.99 a month. The contract was supposed to end in 2026. But now, they put me in another contract, and they claim that I signed for it. The contract will end in 2027 where I’m going to pay $74 and change on a monthly basis, all because I changed the lock.
They now add on to the system a Ring doorbell lock, but I already have that in the house. I also have the thermostat. The guy that came to install the lock said that the installation was gonna be free. He saw that type of thermostat and added on to that contract. Now they’re charging for it as if they;re the ones who installed it and they’re monitoring it.
The guy didn’t even give me the information for the door lock, so I don’t have so much information on the door lock if I want to put it over onto anything at all. All I know is that I know how to open and close the door. If I want to download the app for the door lock, I don’t know how to do that. He didn’t provide me with any of that information.
Next thing I know, the bill goes up to 660 something dollars and they want me to pay that despite the fact that they agreed that they were going to close it out and I won’t have to pay anything. It moves from 500 to 600 and change, and now that’s when they actually decided that they’re closing it out. I decided I’m terminating the contract early and I’m gonna have to pay the early termination fee, which is now gonna be over $2,000. I’m gonna try to figure out a way how to take it into court because I’m not paying it.

The previous owner of the house I bought had ADT. I took over the contract when I moved in. The interactions with representatives have been great. The service is a little pricey, though, so I don't know if I will renew the contract when it expires. It's more expensive than any other solution that I've been looking at.
It's functioning well, but It seems like it's one of the more basic systems. There's no touchscreen. It'd be nice to have some more features.

My experience with ADT has its ups and downs. Some aspects are good and some aren’t. We’re having a harder time getting service up north and not everything gets fixed. The service has gone down. They’re charging $59 for them to come out and they want to do everything by the phone. And half the times the system doesn’t work. We just had a service person out here to fix some stuff and it’s still not fixed.
Overall, we feel fairly safe with the system. We’re out in the middle of the woods so we’re safer here than we were when we were downstate. It’s a good service because we like the monitoring. If we need help, we can connect to the ADT and they can get the police and the fire out here.

Three days ago, one of the motion sensors that was installed in my second floor had faulty alert two times. I tried to reach to ADT and figure out what was going on. The next day, they scheduled the remote technical help support. They said the equipment was fine and that means there are no problems. But still, I cannot figure out what was going on. After that, I tried to turn on the arm model and then there was no more faulty alerts going off.
I also have another house where ADT was installed. I called customer services and they sent somebody to the house to figure out. But this time, we only did that remotely by the phone and then I talked to somebody the next day. Right now, the system is working okay. But in my opinion, I would like somebody on site to figure out what happened for that instead of just doing it on the phone. Other than that, I feel satisfied with the sense of security the system gives.

ADT has always been very helpful whenever I contact them. I don’t have to call repeatedly, they seem to get it done. Overall, I’m happy with the system.
Right now, I do have a low‑battery alert, and it tells me which window it’s coming from. But I’m still not completely sure which one it is because of how the window is described in the alert. The issue is that I travel a lot and I’m away most of the time. Right now, I’m about three hours away, and it’s been warning me about the low battery.

My wife told me that sometimes the alarm doesn’t work for the back door. When we go out, it happens once or twice. But if I close that door again, it usually works. Maybe she didn’t do something right. I don’t know. I’ll double‑check and let ADT know later. The system usually goes from stay to away, then sets the alarm, and then we leave. So far, it’s been okay. It fits what I need.
Two years ago, we had a situation while I was overseas, and I opened an ADT account from there. They were really helpful. At the moment, I can’t see anything because I’m overseas. My wife handles the ADT system, set up the code, and do everything. We have one glitch right now, but hopefully, I’ll able to get it back in control.
The area we live in is generally good, but once in a while, every four or five years, there’s a burglary. Actually, I’m thinking about switching from ADT. For everything I’m paying, I’m not getting quality service, and I don’t like the system. Since the day they installed it, the home base and the cameras haven’t worked the way they should. The home base doesn’t shut off completely.
The light stays bright all night. No matter how much I try to dim it, it doesn’t turn off. My friend’s light turns off after about 15 seconds, but mine never does. Technicians have come out and looked at it, and it still doesn’t turn off. Someone has been out three or four times, and they even gave me a new panel, but it’s still doing the same thing.
The system downstairs went off and said someone was breaking in. That happened last month. I paid and changed all the sensor batteries. The front doorbell was replaced because it wasn’t working well, but the new one works even worse than the old one. It’s nothing like what I expected. I’ve had Brinks out, and I’ve had a few other companies out to get quotes because I haven’t been happy.
When I call, customer service is fine, and the other technicians who came out were fine too. The best person was the last technician who came out. I don’t remember his name, but he was very nice and tried his hardest to fix everything. I actually saved his name in my phone because he was so kind, but he told me he might not be with the company much longer.
He was great. He replaced the front doorbell because he said I had an older version and didn’t understand why they had installed that version in the first place. But the problem is the camera dies within an hour. I don’t understand why. I have to keep taking it out to charge it. What’s the point of having a camera if I have to charge it for eight hours just to use it for one hour?

I had ADT for a long time, probably about eight years or more, since I was in Houston. It's good, and I like it. I hadn't had any problem with it.
The installation has been good for me. I can disarm the remote control using my phone. That's what I like about it. I could be anywhere, and I can check it. I had another one, but I didn't like it as well as ADT.

My neighbor next door has ADT. She's a traveling nurse, and she had it for probably three years. So, she can keep an eye out on her house when she's away, to make sure no one attempts to break in.
And I wanted it because I've had people try to break in the house while I'm at home. But they can't get in the house because I've got 4 dogs and I do carry them.
So far, I like ADT because I can leave out of town, set the alarm, and the cameras notify me if someone comes up the driveway. Everything works fine. If I have a problem, I just call ADT and they walk me through it. Like this morning, my carbon monoxide batteries were dead.
So, I just got new batteries from Amazon. And not even a second, they called and asked me what's going on. I told them I just replaced my batteries. Then the fire department showed up five minutes later to make sure everything was okay.
It's worth buying and getting. It helps you out in the long run especially if you have to go out of town and you don't have anybody to watch your house. The cameras basically do it for you. You can have access on your phone, tablet, or laptop.

I have had ADT at several apartments I have had, and now, it's in my house. It has been good so far, and I have had them for over 10 or 11 years. The favorite feature I have now is all my alarms on all my windows and my doors.
I like ADT. My mom had them, and they were really good to her. They came out and checked on her. So I never had a problem where they had to come out and check on me.

We moved here almost 11 years ago, and we were interested in getting a security system. We first got ADT when Melanie explained it to us and signed us up. We've had a good experience, and we've never had many problems.
We've had some issues a few years back. We had some trouble with the back camera staying online. They charged us a lot to come out and fix it, and then it went back off again. But it seems like it's been straightened out.
That's been the only issue so far, as we haven't really had any problems with our alarm system itself. I like the feeling of security, having to set that alarm at night. I think I would share with others the ease and confidence of having it.
I like our Ring Doorbell too. I have the app so I can set the alarm when we're going away or from away. Their online tool is very helpful.
I haven't had a really hard time contacting their customer service, but I haven't had a really easy time either in getting help.

I've been with ADT for about 10 years, and I chose them because at the time, they were the only home security company in our area. And as far as any problem goes, I was having a billing issue where my bill was fluctuating, going up. I had contacted them maybe four years ago, and they said that they would get it fixed. And I haven't seen any fluctuations since then. So, whatever they did on their end, it stopped the fluctuations.
ADT’s the only home security that I've ever had, and it's pretty nice. They're up-to-date with the technology, I guess. And It’s been real easy to talk to them. The few times I've had to contact them, it's been reasonable.

We’re not satisfied with ADT. It hasn’t been worth crap ever since it was put in. It hasn’t been any good. We've had trouble with it. The cameras won't work. The only time it works is when it chimes to tell you that a door's opened or closed. And that's just part of the time.
I got that monitor. It sits right up underneath my television. 99% of the time, it's blank. It tells you nothing. It just doesn’t do nothing. When we call and have a complaint about it, we’re kept on hold. And then they hem and haw around like it’s not their fault or it's the equipment's fault. But when we tell them we want them to come take care of it and get it out, the phone won't quit ringing from people calling us. They want to know why we're dropping the service and doing away with it. It’s frustrating.
When we call and have a problem, we’ll talk to a person that's over in India or Australia somewhere that we can't even understand. They make up all kinds of excuses that it ain't ADT's problem, or it ain't the equipment's problem, that we're doing something wrong. We haven’t even done a thing. All we've done is pay our bill for it. The service isn’t worth a hoot.
When we buy something, we expect it to work. We sign a contract where we’re gonna be with them for a year or so, and then you we’re stuck. I’m not signing a contract with anybody anymore. Either they take care of it or they’re won’t. If they won’t, they should come take it out. That's the gist of it.

ADT always seemed helpful when I've had to call. I don't use the online tool. I did once, and it wasn’t much, so I decided I'm not gonna log into it again.
After I had it installed, there was still somebody who’d knock on my door to sell this to me. There seems to be confusion from a higher-up standpoint of multiple vendors owning things, kind of like a franchise within the system. But I'm fine. This serves my purpose, and I just need the minimum. I live on the second-floor condo, so I don't need sensors on these windows.
I pay $39 a month, and I’ve never been asked to increase my rate, so I appreciate that. Knowing that the alarm’s gonna go off if somebody opens that door is my favorite feature. I did set it off once – I had just pulled away from my house, and a door was ajar. They contacted me, and I told them it was me and not to send the police.
I’ve never had an issue setting the alarm and turning it off, except when the power went out for a few days. It was beeping because the backup battery died, so I had to call ADT to get it working again.

I have been with ADT for years for our security system. In the front, we have a gate so it’d be harder for somebody to get in that way. In the back, it’s just a door so it’d be a lot easier for someone to get in there. We have a camera by the back but it doesn’t work half the time. I get instructions on how to fix it and then I’ll fix it and it’ll go out. It’s annoying and I’m sick of dealing with it.
The only reason I haven’t canceled is because I haven’t found another company to use that I like better. They’ve sent me a new camera which I’ve installed. I had someone come out and make sure the camera was set up. And then it goes out again if we have a storm. And then it doesn’t come back up.

Customer service is very good and they walk you through everything. The tech knew his stuff so it’s all good. The only thing I wasn’t thrilled with them about was the issue with the panel board. If something goes wrong with them, they wanna charge you when you’re paying for the service. I don’t understand that part. I have other things I buy. But they resolved that part with me. If you have service with the company, they send a technician out and troubleshoot the problem. Other than that, I have no problem with ADT at all.

Contacting the reps has been good. The problem is sometimes we lose our apps. My wife’s app is down right now, for some reason, and she can’t arm or disarm from her phone. I’ve also had trouble with my cameras every once in a while where it’s not recording or coming on. I call customer support and tell them about it. Then they come out and fix it or they explain how to fix it over the phone. It’s working great now. Overall, I like the ADT system. I like the garage camera ‘cause I can see who’s driving up, and the doorbell camera, too.

I have zero peace of mind with the ADT system. It’s not great and it doesn’t protect my property as it should. It doesn’t constantly record and only records certain instances. I’ve had a couple of things replaced a couple of times and different techs have been out to replace and troubleshoot. The tech had great customer service though. But other than that, I’m not happy with the service overall. It’s really pricey to get out of the contract so I have to wait until the contract expires, which is horrible customer service to me.

ADT is a good company. There are just a few things they need to improve on ‘cause I’m having a problem with the sensor right now. Last year I put a sensor in the living room, and it went off. The guy came back and changed it but since January it started again. It started saying people were inside, so the police came twice. Thank God I have cameras. I checked, and nobody was there, not even a cat because I don't have any pets. I had to call the ADT for them to turn it off because I was going out of town, and it's been almost a month now since it was turned off.

I've had ADT for 32 years, things have changed nowadays, and it’s not as modern as it should be. The Ring cameras have better night vision than my cameras with ADT, so I’d like them to come and change my cameras. They're outdated, and they're no good at nighttime ‘cause you can't see anything with them. I know ADT is just a response unit and they can't totally protect me. They can call the police and that's about all they can do. But I've never had a problem with them, so I like them.

Actually, I’m not using ADT. The county requires a permit, and the permit requires two people who live within 30 miles that they can call. I just moved here, so I don’t know anyone within 30 miles. It’s kind of annoying. I feel like I’m paying $53 a month just to have a sign in my front yard.
One person from ADT said they’d never heard of that. I told them, “Go on the Collin County website. You can’t get a permit unless they can verify two different people.” And you get fined if you don’t have a permit, so I’ve never armed the system.
I can’t cancel the security system. I read the contract and it says I’d have to buy out the three years. I really appreciated the people who installed it, they were great, but the system just isn’t working for me right now. I would have appreciated knowing about the permit situation ahead of time.

I’ve been with ADT since 2014 or 2013, and they haven’t disappointed me in all the years I’ve been with them. I don’t want to be with anyone else, that’s for sure. Their customer service and the actual physical service, any time I’ve needed a new installation or when I’ve moved, has all been seamless.
I really appreciate the quality of service I receive, whether it’s customer service or anything else. I love knowing which door is being activated at any given time. I told the installer, “I need to know where the enemy is coming from.” It gives me time to prepare.
My experience with ADT has made me feel safe. It makes me feel like someone else has a real concern for my safety. I have disabled children, so if I’m not home and something, God forbid, happens, I need to know they can get to the panel and press it.
There’s a panel upstairs because we have a two‑story house. To me, that was an added bonus. It’s amazing that you don’t have to run downstairs in an emergency when there’s one upstairs.

I knew of ADT’s products because I'm an engineer. I know other people that use components from the wholesaler shop that their guys get parts from. I'm an insider as an electronics engineer.
There were a couple of issues initially when I set it up, but overall, it's worked out okay. The system performs well. There is a little problem with one of the sensors. Part of it screws above the door in the frame and the other part tapes to the door itself. Basically, it's like a magnet that activates the switch to let you know when the door is open and when it's closed. The component above my front door needs repair. I taped it up with some clear tape for the time being, but I need to pay attention to it and go back and repair it. Occasionally, these things come loose and then have to be re-glued or mounted better.

ADT doesn’t even work in my home, so I've been paying for nothing for the last four years. I haven't had a chance to experience it because it doesn't work. It just tells me my door is open and closed. I can't do anything else. The panel doesn’t even work. Punch it, doesn’t work. App doesn’t work. I reported it couple of months after I got it, but nothing was resolved. So, I don't call and just wait for the contract to end so I can leave. I’m very dissatisfied.

Everybody that I've ever spoken with at ADT have been knowledgeable, patient, and considerate and just helped me understand what I was buying. I've been really pleased with ADT. They've straightened them out for me when I call. So right now, it’s excellent. The sales rep was great. They helped.
Well, I had a different provider which was my first alarm system, and I just wasn't happy whenever I called them and had an issue with it. I really didn't know enough about the alarm system. And then, they were overcharging me.
So I contacted ADT and I haven't had any issues since. Their installation team just showed me everything that I needed to know about it. And like I said, the alarm system works good. I've been happy with it.
The fire alarm system went off one time because the alarm is close to my kitchen. We had a pan that got hot, and we weren't paying any attention to it. It started smoking, and the alarm went off.So, I tapped it back in and everything and it cleared it. At least we know the alarm system works.
The only thing I have an issue with is its connection with my WiFi. Sometimes my WiFi does not connect with the alarm system very well. But eventually, it does correct itself. So it's just the WiFi that isn't very good where I live.

I got ADT because I just needed a security system. I had it for years, and I really haven't had any problems. I'd say their price is competitive, and it's been all right with me for the most part. I always had good service whenever they had to come and do anything.
The guy who came was really good and informative. He even told me about some other stuff that I could use to get a better signal.
I never had any problem with the system’s performance except for the battery. I just noticed it was low because my thing wasn't working like it's supposed to.
So I took the battery out and looked at it. I bought a battery myself. Then they went out and told me how to put them in and program everything back again.
I did have one problem with the service guy. He brought me some new cameras and took one of my cameras without my authorization. But when I called in and asked where the camera was, they gave me back my camera.
Maybe he had a misunderstanding because he's supposed to have brought me three, and I think he traded out one of my cameras. I think I got some upgrades. He put one camera in that room, and he took one.

My parents have had ADT for many years. And so, as I began home purchasing, I went with ADT as a company because of the experience I had had with my parents. From multiple homes since then, I would say they've been adequate in providing services to what my family needed.
I think I like the accessibility of the app and the integration of most functions. To be able to turn on and off the alarm system and view the camera. It's easy to use, although there may be some limited storage.
I think they're reliable. It's been very easy for me to contact an agent. When we had some issues with our alarm system in Maryland, I called, and they were very responsive.
They provided me with the information I needed in order to resolve the issue. They called me back in a day or so, just to confirm that everything was still okay.
I would also say that their technology and cameras need a little bit of improvement because they're not as clear or as cutting-edge as some of the new technology that's coming out. It needs a little bit of revamping.
But I think the infrastructure, and the responsiveness and availability of customer services is one of the things that stand out for me. I'm actually talking to a human being, and not to a bot.

ADT notifies me when things go wrong at the house. It's great when the system is functioning properly, but we're having a little bit of issues with it right now.
It keeps going offline and disconnects from the internet. We have to re-hook it then. They've been out to the house, and it's a little better.

We’ve been with ADT for about 35 years, and we enjoy the services they provide. We recently upgraded from our original ADT system, and the functionality is much better than the old one. It’s mostly hands‑free now, so you don’t really have to do anything. I enjoy this system a lot more than the one we had before.
My favorite feature is the alerts that let us know when someone is around the house or if we need to go out. I really like the improved functionality and availability compared to what we had before, especially knowing when someone is around the house.
It’s easy to get in touch with ADT. They notify you if something is happening. A couple of times, the alarm actually went off, and ADT called immediately to check if there was a problem in the house. I really appreciate their attention to detail and how quickly they call to make sure everything is okay.

I’ve been with ADT for four years, and I find their service very satisfactory. When I first signed up, the sales rep spent about five and a half hours with me. He was very patient and explained everything as he went along. He’s a credit to ADT. I don’t remember his name, was a middle‑aged man, but he was very good at his job. There wasn’t a team. It was just him, and he also installed the system.
The system suits my needs. Offhand, I can’t think of anything I’m missing. It does what I want it to do. I turn it on at night and I feel safe. That was my main objective because I live alone. I have woods behind me, it’s a senior development, all of that, so I feel pretty secure now that I have it.
I just want to add one thing. I would appreciate it if ADT doesn’t raise the bill anymore. They raised it once, and that increase was significant. I’d really appreciate it if they could just keep it where it is.

ADT came out, and I thought it would be cheaper to have them reinstall it. I didn’t compare them with anything else. I thought it was just a reinstall to make sure everything was working, but that’s not what happened. The installer didn’t explain anything. He didn’t say that I would need all new equipment or anything like that. He just put it in, and I wasn’t very happy with it.
I don’t use it anymore. My wife is now in dementia care, and she’s no longer leaving the house. He also didn’t explain that there would be a five‑year contract. I don’t use the system anymore, but I’m still paying for it.
It says, “Garage door is open,” but the garage door isn’t open. It’s the door from the house into the garage. I wasn’t happy with how they set it up. I don’t know when the actual garage door is open unless I go outside and look.
I’m very dissatisfied with how he handled it in terms of explaining that I couldn’t use any of the old ADT equipment. The installer did not explain any of that. He just did it and then charged me. It’s like they’ve got criminals out there who do things to people, and I just got one of them. I would tell people to use someone else and find the least expensive option they can.

I’m always treated really well by ADT, and their customer service is great. I went with ADT, probably for their wireless setup.
Well, I have problems with the batteries having to be replaced once a year. That's the biggest drawback. And then sometimes, we get error messages, but we're finally learning the system now. The last problem was that we lost contact with the router, but we just had to put the serial number back in.

Well, I've had ADT before, and I kind of like the service, and pretty much everything about it.
I was cooking something, and had a little smoke in the house several times. I didn't think it was that bad, but apparently, they contacted me right away.

We’ve had ADT since we first moved in, probably about three or four years. They had come out to the house, and the technician was polite. I had no problem with them, and I’m satisfied with their customer service.

The only negative service I've had with ADT was when the battery I ordered didn't come. So I went out and bought one. But that's not their fault, but the post office's because the post office is so bad lately. I'm not sure why ADT doesn't use UPS or FedEx or a better service.

We had ADT in our previous home, and we wanted to establish the business again when we moved here. And so we did. We had them for 40 years.
I think they're performing as you're advertised. So far, it's working the way it's supposed to. They call when I make a mistake and open the back door without shutting the alarm off, in 30 seconds to a minute.
I'm happy with the performance. It works as it's designed to. The alarm is on all the windows and doors, so I feel secure in that regard.

I feel secure with ADT. I got the system three years ago ‘cause I wanted to have home security, and it's always worked really well for me. I've only needed to communicate a few times, and it's always gone well. There have been times I've accidentally set off my system, called them, and they took care of it quickly. When I'm not home, it's nice to be able to set that and know that if anything happens I'd be notified and it'll be taken care of.

ADT is good, no complaints. Only thing is that we had new Wi-Fi, and the cameras weren't working, and we didn't know that until we found out that the Wi-Fi wasn't working properly with the new system. But it’s not what the technicians did, it was my Wi-Fi.

I am not happy with ADT. The guy had to reschedule three times to come out and put it in. I was in the midst of selling one house, buying two, and when the guy finally came, he said I had to sign it, but he didn’t tell me it was a three-year contract. If he had made it clear, I wouldn't have done it. And I did call ADT immediately and tried to get out of it and they wouldn’t let me. They said if I wanted to cancel, I had to buy it out and it would be $1500. I can't afford to do that now, so I'm stuck with something I don't use. I'm paying an extra 59 bucks a month for something I don't need. The system was already here and the Realtor said it'd probably be good to get it. I didn't know how it worked. I didn't know I had to completely arm it and disarm it every time somebody else comes. It's just not practical for my lifestyle and my family. I'm not saying it's not good. For somebody else, it might be just fine, but for me, it's totally inappropriate.

I don't have a very good experience with ADT. I’ve been with them for about 24 years and spent a billion dollars with them. I just stayed with them because they're not gonna give me any of my money back, even on the equipment. Because of that, I’m not gonna go out and spend another $5,000 to get their new equipment. It’s a waste of my money.
ADT just decided to stop sending me a bill. It’s been over seven years since I’ve received one. I have called them over and over asking for a bill, and they keep saying they’ll send me one. They still haven't done that. It’s starting to piss me off that I filed a complaint against them. I will continuously file complaints against them until they send me a bill. I have every right to know what they’re billing me for because now they’ve raised their rates.
They also upgrade their systems but don't tell people and then forget to include people in their upgrade. When my system fails, I’m sitting here, wondering why my system’s not working. I call and have to sit on hold for hours, waiting to get through to somebody. That’s when they’ll tell me they’ve upgraded their system and forgot to tell me. When I call, sometimes I get somebody who doesn’t speak English, and it’s frustrating. If I can understand them, it’s okay.

We had ADT at our old house. Every two or three years, we got an increase in billing. When we moved into this house about two and a half years ago, my wife and I said we weren’t gonna go with ADT again because it was getting so expensive. The rep that we had for the old house called us and gave us a proposal that was fixed for life. Because of that, we went with them again. The system is working fine, and I’m quite happy with it.
But about a year ago, I got a letter regarding a price increase from ADT. I told them what we were told, that our rate would be fixed for life. After a number of emails back and forth, they said they will honor that cost for a two-year period. With that, if there is a price increase a year or two down the road, it’s a fairly safe bet we will leave ADT, even though I like the system and don't have any issues with it.

I got ADT as a replacement of an old security system that my parents had. My dad had passed away, and my mom was getting into her 90s. She liked the old system. One day, out of the blue, she was walking into the room, and all of a sudden, the alarm went off. There’s nobody I can call since we’re not hooked up to any service. I located where the sirens were coming from inside the house and yanked a wire off. It went quiet, but there was still beeping outside. I called my lawn man to crawl up in the attic and cut the wires off the siren. It worked, and I didn’t have the noise anymore. But my mom was not happy with that. To make her feel better, I told her I’ll get a new system put in.
I see ADT all over the place, so I called them. The guy said he could set it up for me the same day. He was more like a car dealer, and he talked me into stuff. He came out about 4 o’clock that afternoon, looked all over the house, and saw the old system. I’m pretty sure it wasn't ADT. He set up the system in five minutes. He put these little sensors, but I didn’t like that they had double-face tape on them. Later, two of those sensors fell on the floor. I called them up and bitched about it. A technician showed up two or three days later, and he’s a really nice guy. He said the double-faced tape is not good stuff, so he screwed in the sensors.
When my mom passed away, I called ADT and told them I wanna quit. They said I couldn’t do that since I signed a three-year contract and it would cost me $3,000. The system is good and it works, but I don't want it and I don't need it. Since mom died, I think I set it once. I’m really pissed that I have to wait almost two years now to dump it. But that’s just the way it works. I was dumb enough to take it, so now I’m stuck with it.

We’ve had problems with ADT all the time. It’s never been right and we’ve never liked the whole system. We’re just not happy with it. One part will just quit working, and then it happens again. I go out and buy batteries and change them, and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s adequate, but a lot of the times either one of the zones will be out or there’ll be a problem. We’ll fix that and put a battery in, and then we have another battery out in another zone. It’s just kind of a hassle to have to keep working on it.
Also, we do not like our camera at all. It hardly shows anything and doesn't work as good as our Ring camera worked. Half the time, if somebody walks up, it doesn’t even come on, and it’s just not as easy to use. Sometimes I’ll check the saved videos and there’s nothing there.
We actually had an emergency while we were out of town last month. A woman next door who has memory problems started ringing our doorbell about 4 o’clock in the morning while we were not home. It was really, really hard to try to see who it was and see what was going on. Everything’s okay now, but that was kind of frustrating. We’ve always been frustrated with the camera, and we've considered just having it all taken out and putting Ring in because we've really never liked it.
I also had a strange situation when we started this service about five years ago. The man we purchased from, I guess he was a reseller, told us that if we did something, we would get 13 months free. We went ahead and had it put in, but then we started getting bills. When I called, ADT had absolutely no idea what that situation was. He was representing ADT, but making promises that wasn't true. I don’t know how this guy was allowed to write contracts, but anyway, ADT did make it right because we did put the system in.

My favorite thing about ADT is that it’s always on and works all the time. I’ve had them for three years now and I feel secure because my experience has been flawless. I just don’t have any problems with it. Even interacting with the representatives was good.

I have had ADT at my past 3 homes a total of about 9 years. In my current home, I am renting it out and where I’m moving it already has a monitoring system. I called ADT to cancel my service and the customer service representative told me I would have a $380 bill for disconnection. I told her I was a long standing customer and I thought that it was ridiculous. She got quiet and put me on hold came back and say ok it will be disconnected this week, never mentioned the disconnection fee again. Fast forward 2 days later, now I have a bill for $416. I did like having the security of ADT. But after these past few experiences with them, I would not recommend or ever use them again.

We got ADT because our homeowner’s insurance said that we needed fire monitoring. Their initial sales guy was pushy. But most of customer service has been good, and it’s easy to get in touch with them. We’ve had a couple of instances where we didn’t have good experiences with them, like people not listening to us or not notating accounts. Other than that, it’s been okay.
The system has come in handy a couple of times, and it checks all the boxes for the equipment that we have. I like the door alarm and knowing when somebody’s opening the door.
There have been a couple of instances when the fire alarm either went off or didn’t go off when it was supposed to do the opposite. My daughter takes really hot showers, and the fire alarm went off from the steam once. Another time, we had a fire, and it didn’t go off. It might have been because of the location of the fire alarm. My house is horseshoe-shaped, and the fire alarm is in my hallway. The fire happened further off, in the microwave in the dining room. But overall, ADT has good service.

We had ADT for years in the other house that we had, before my husband passed away. So, I got them again at this house. But I was happier with it before than I am now. Because the installers didn’t explain the system and how it works when they installed it. I’m also paying two different fees every month, and I don’t know why. I reached out to ADT, and I didn’t get anywhere with them. But other than that, I like ADT. I’m very well pleased with how it works, if I understood how it works.

I had gone with Ackerman and that's the sign at my home right now. I was surprised when I was told that ADT had bought out the company. But I really do every service that I have been given, and it has been very effective. I get an immediate notification of anyone or anything around my home. I work a lot, and getting the notifications when I am in my office is very helpful. I am a psychotherapist, so I'm away from home a lot. Being able to check in and see how things are doing make me very happy with the services.
The only big deal that's happened was when my landlord forgot to turn off the alarm. He just turned 90 years old. I thought he was going to wet his pants because he was so scared. The police showed up. Everybody was there. And he had to explain to them that he owns the house and I’m renting and that he’s not trying to break in. I gave him permission to collect the rent.
And when my landlord got me on the phone, he wasn't mad at me, he said, I’m keeping his house safe but I should turn it off when I know that he’s going to be here. I gave him the combination and told him that if it doesn’t work he should call me so I can turn it off wherever I may be. He copied it down, reviews, and texts us to make sure that it's still accurate. My ADT is really working.

Six years ago we looked into having ADT because I collect a lot of toy tractors and farm equipment, and we were going out of town for four weeks. I felt more secure about having it on the house because it was broken into years before that.
Everything's going just fine until now. It even catches me when I try coming into the basement when I forget to turn the alarm off. I called them when we had an issue with one of the batteries. They were able to walk us through everything. When we had problems with the panel once and they walked us right through it.
I don't know if I can afford to have a doorbell camera or outside camera. But I don't know how much that's gonna add to my bill.

Scammers. Trust me. Don’t get stuck in a contract with these criminals. They will screw you. That’s the only thing you can expect from this service. The sales people will lie and make it sound like you are getting all this stuff but it will just be like 2 things.

ADT was in the home when we bought it almost 25 years ago. My experience with them has been okay so far. I haven't had any issues with it. Sometimes when I've called in, I did not get the information that I was trying to get. When upgrading this old system to the newer one, I was trying to get some understanding on the functionality of it and they didn't make it quite clear. But after calling back a couple of times and just a little trial and error with the system going off, we figured it out.

So far, the experience with ADT is good. The sales representative was actually nice and very courteous. He answered all my questions. I also like the pricing right now because I'm on a fixed income. I did have to get a battery replaced, but they sent it to me promptly.

The ADT system is doing good and it's working fine. I first had to contact customer service to swap batteries out and the interaction was good. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing. After that, I knew how to read the instructions and what it's telling me to do when changing batteries. So far, they've done everything they're supposed to.

I've been with ADT for over 22 years and it's always been fine. It's been exactly what I expected and it continues to have no problems. I don't know how it could get any better. I feel very safe when it's on and I've never had any problems with anybody trying to get into my residence. Contacting a representative has also been very easy. Sometimes when you accidentally set off the alarm, they're right on it when that happens.

I've been a customer of ADT for around 20 years. They've always kept my price low. If they ever raise it, I'll drop it. But as long as they keep it at what I've been paying, I'm fine with them. I have had no problems when I need to contact the customer service representative. Everything is just fine with the way it is right now.

The functionality and performance of ADT has been good. As for their representatives, sometimes they know exactly what's going on and what I need. Other times, they don't quite know. But overall, it's been okay. I feel protected and, if something happens, they let me know. There was a couple of times when the police had to come over when the alarm went off and I wasn't there. So I know it works and I feel very secure.

I've had ADT for up to five years. During installation, it took four and a half hours to attach the sensors on the windows. One thing I don't like is the old batteries and having to contact customer service a few times because my cameras kept going out. I've already had to replace two. Their cost is also a little high and I wish they would give a senior discount. The quality of the service good, but on the things that are recorded, I wish they would automatically delete after 60 days so I don't have to go in there and manually delete a bunch of videos.

We had ADT before but we had switched to Xfinity. I appreciated ADT before and it works well. I like the camera features. The only problem I have is that it is not coming up on my mother’s phone. She is hearing impaired. That's a big problem because sometimes I have to go, and my dad just passed away and we need it on her phone. But on my phone, I see everything.

I like the ADT system. They even upgraded not too long ago. I had to call after the upgrade because I didn't understand what I had to do, but they helped and told me what to do. They were good at answering when I called. All the features it has are good. But I was going to call them again because of my security light. It usually stays on, but it goes off on my system now.

The service with ADT has been spotty because of cellular failure. Our cell reception is terrible here and the alarm is verifying that. But our experience has been good aside from the chirping noises from the alarm. I like the safety that the system gives and it's a good service to have, especially if you have good cellphone reception.

I’ve been a customer of ADT from 2001 to 2010, and then took a break because I lived in a secure condo building, but I got it again this summer. And when I called to get the service again, the representative I talked to was knowledgeable. And the technician who installed the system was very good. And the system meets my expectations.

I had ADT for a long time, and I’m happy with them. I like that when I go upstairs with my husband, I turn it on, and we can relax. So, I feel comfortable when I have it. I’m not worried. And getting in contact with them was easy and really good. I haven't had to contact them in a long time, but I am going to call them sometime soon because I cannot fix the sound. When I turn the alarm on at night, I want the sound to be a little bit higher, but what I got was the same low sound. But I’m really happy with them, and I want my daughter to get ADT also.

I called ADT because my home was burglarized, and also because my old system had started going beep-beep-beep since there was no battery. They told me it needed to be updated, and I just wanted to update the panel and get a remote, so I went ahead with it.
The sales representative was okay, but he didn’t explain all the details, so I wasn’t aware I would actually be paying for the equipment. They told me I had to pay a hundred and somewhat dollars for a technician or installments, but then my first bill came to 50-something. When I called back, they said, “Well, you’re paying for the equipment.” He did say that once I pay it off, the bill will go back to 34.95, but I don’t know how much the remaining balance is.
As for the system, the functionality is good, it works. We got the Google Nest doorbell with it, and the guy didn’t charge for that once I gave him a good tip. I have a remote now and I can arm or disarm it through my phone. Overall, I’m satisfied and my sense of security is pretty good.

I live out in the country and was by myself after my husband died, so I went with ADT because they were around and I've had them since 1999. ADT has been really good to me. It's a very good system to have and they are really there for you. If something goes wrong, they call right away. One time when a granddaughter was living with me, somebody tried to break in. We had the alarm set, and ADT called and sent a police officer right over. It’s been very good.
I like their system, especially now that Frontier upgraded the Wi-Fi and ADT came over, and now I can even set the alarm on my phone, which I really like.

The house we purchased already had ADT, so we just stuck with them and it was fair. It does have issues, but more on the ADT service than the equipment itself. The customer service needs to improve when things go wrong or the system is not working. ADT wants charge for everything. If they have to come out to troubleshoot their equipment, there shouldn't be a charge to me. I had to threaten cancellation a couple of months ago to get somebody to come out here to look at my system and not charge me $300.

There was already an ADT system installed in the home I purchased, so I decided to keep it on for myself. The system works well. I've only had one situation where it malfunctioned and the fire department wound up showing up. After that, I got a letter from ADT that said they increased my rates because of the false alarm. Outside of that, it's been great and I had no other concerns. I like the system and I'm going to keep it since it is a necessity.
I also have my son on my account. So during the false alarm, they reached out to my son and he called me. I then contacted ADT and told them everything was fine. Besides that, I really haven't had reach out to them much except for when I found out my rate was being increased again.
So I've had two increases within the four months that I've been in the home. I was confused by it, but I I knew needed the system because safety is paramount. I feel fairly safe with the system in my home and I had no issues besides the two rate increases.

Enrollment was easy. The sales guy was straight and to-the-point. The technician who came out explained to me how things were gonna be done, and he did it just like he said he was gonna do it. I had them come out a second time in order to install cameras on the outside of the house. Performance of the system has been very good except in high heat, the doorbell camera doesn't work very well. When it gets above 110 degrees, which it does here in Las Vegas, the door camera doesn't function. I've had the door camera replaced twice now.
The functionality of the system is very easy. When the battery ran low, ordering the battery and getting all the customer service was easy. It came to me very quickly too. ADT has videos on how to install, so installation was easy too. I'm a 26-year Army veteran with three combat deployments, so without an alarm system, I feel very secure. But with an alarm system, I feel that when I'm away from home, that my house is protected, so I feel very secure.

We haven't been really happy with the service. We've had some issues, and we're ready to get rid of ADT. Last week, the Wi-Fi automatically went out for no reason at all. The Wi-Fi and some other things in the house were okay. But there was a problem with the ADT thing for a couple of days, and we couldn't get on the Wi-Fi.
We tried to contact people but we couldn’t get ahold of anybody. If you get ahold of someone, it took forever for them to get back to you. We tried to get an appointment to have someone come out and look at the control box in the garage. This was on a Friday and they couldn’t come until Monday. We didn’t have Wi-Fi for four days. What kind of service is that? It stinks. I can understand 24 hours. It's tough. They’ve got a lot of people to cover. But four days? I'm really sorry. That is a little too long to go without whatever service you have.
They finally set up something, and they do the window so you gotta sit around and wait for someone, hoping that they will show up. They actually did call and they came. But for some reason, something happened and the Wi-Fi came on. They didn't do anything. The guy says, "Well, I don't see anything wrong with it."
My biggest gripe is the customer service—the fact that you can't get ahold of anybody. Even if we have a question or we wanna know something, you never can get anybody on the phone. Nowadays, everything's online. You get nothing online, and they troubleshoot you online. It's getting frustrating.
My husband was on the phone with a couple of different people, and they told him on the phone, "Well, you might get a charge." “You better not charge us anything for coming out here if there's a problem and I can't fix it.” He spent time with these people. It was really cold out, and he was holding the thing up for 45 minutes to the control panel in the garage. Do this, do that, and put this in. The other thing is that everything goes through Google, and we're not too happy with Google either. That's always an issue too with Google.
We have a three-year contract. This March was our first year, and we have two more years. Every time I see they take the money out of our account every month, I get angry with that. We have two different charges. One for the service, and one is the monitor for the camera.
I just want the monitor that we purchased that's in the house that shows the garage. There's a camera out above the garage so we can see if anybody pulls up to our house. Because the way our place is situated, you can't see anything. That's why we wanted it. I always heard good things. But I don't know if things have changed over the years with ADT about their customer service and getting people out here. It's been a frustration. Check out another company.
