This is the worst company I have ever dealt with! Their service is terrible, the installers are unprofessional, and the sales reps are misleading. I tried to cancel within the three-day period, but they convinced me to wait, saying they would send someone to fix the issues. It's now been a month and a half, and I still can’t use the system. The cameras constantly go offline, and every time I call, they promise a technician will come—but they either cancel, don’t show up, or arrive unprepared. I’ve been given excuse after excuse: "Our system is down," "We don’t have the parts," and more. Even after multiple failed repair attempts, they still refuse to let me cancel. This company used to be good, but now they are the WORST. Do NOT use them, and do NOT let them touch your home!

A friend was getting a low battery message, told to order motion detector battery. They installed it, more messages started appearing. After hours, I was there, and several days, and removing equipment ADT said was broken, after being told to pay for a new motion detector, problem was a battery in the panel!!! Original motion detector works fine, but ADT will NOT take new one back!! Terrible customer support - they just read a script over and over! None of them really knew the system, fave contradictory instructions. I was shocked at the incompetence! So, almost $100 and days later, system not back to original state. Instead of being able to use the remote, as before, now have to punch in a series of numbers to arm and disarm. As an IT manager, I am a just appalled at the very poor, and needlessly expensive, support from ADT.

This Company is full of lies and misinformation, They mislead you from the Contract period and they staff lies from the service technicians to the online staff. Last week I was told a service charge will be removed then this week the billing department staff agreed to give a credit when I ask for a supervisor or manager. Then she said she can’t give the credit if I’m canceling my account. But before that she said the charges was because I cancelled my automatic payment for the equipment, I had to inform her my equipment were paid in full and she need to review the account properly. Up to now I never get to speak with a supervisor or manager.

Worst customer service. They made a mistake and refuse to rectify the situation. If you can choose any other security service. They charged me back in January for equipment and now are saying it wasn’t the correct amount, yet that was the amount told to me by a representative. They have charged me my normal monthly fee since then. They then attempted to charge my account almost $3k and said well you can dispute it with your bank, but we can’t reverse it because you owe $396 on your equipment payments.

I've had ADT for years. I left them and then I came back for the better service. The price is a little high, but it's good service and the system is easy to use too. Everything works, including the alarm and smoke detectors. When something doesn't work, they send me a new one and walk me through it, and we're up and running again. One time, we were cooking and the smoke detectors went off loudly.

I got the new system and it's got a lot of stuff on it, but I don't understand it. If somebody's breaking in, I want to be able to just push the button. With my old system, I could push two buttons and immediately, I had somebody. I also didn't understand why the system would be out. My landline system was down (the whole area was down). Why would my system show Wi-Fi down? Is it hooked up to Wi-Fi?
I didn't ask for help, and I don't have any problem with the system. I just turn it on or off. I don't know anything else about it and I should know more. I assume I'm supposed to read the book myself and figure it out. Other than that, I wouldn't be without the system. ADT's service has been excellent. I was disappointed that after 35 years, they didn't replace my system for free. They couldn't even get parts for my system. So, they should have replaced it for free.

My elderly mother is often home alone, and we wanted to ensure she could easily contact authorities if needed. Our experience with ADT has been positive. The representative who helped set up the system was very detailed and efficient, explaining everything clearly without pushing unnecessary products. My mother really appreciated his help.
As for the ADT system itself, it's been functioning well. Initially, we thought there was an issue, but it was just our misunderstanding of how to use it. One of our favorite features is the simplicity of the system, especially the ability to control it through our app if we forget to set it before leaving home.
With ADT, we feel very secure and have peace of mind, especially living in a rural area, knowing that the authorities would be notified quickly if something were to happen. The online tools are user-friendly, and I would rate them a 5.
Regarding the cost, it feels a bit high. I would rate it a 4, even though I think it could be a 3.5. Overall, I would recommend ADT to friends and family, especially if they feel their current service is lacking.

I have been an ADT customer for over 20 years, possibly even 30. My primary reason for choosing ADT was its long-standing presence in the industry, which made me confident in their expertise.
Over the years, I've had to move a couple of times. The first place I had ADT, I had a system that was plugged in and hooked up to the phone line, but when I had a house built, ADT hardwired the system in during construction. My most recent move was simpler, as the new house was already built, so we just had to plug the system into the wall and connect it via wi-fi. In every instance, ADT handled the transition, providing excellent service.
ADT's customer service has consistently been outstanding. Whether speaking to customer representatives or interacting with installers, I have always found them to be friendly and helpful. I am satisfied with my experience, giving them a 5-star rating.
Regarding the financial aspect of their service, I believe it is well worth the price. Additionally, I have accessed their website and used their mobile app, both of which are user-friendly. The app in particular is easy to use, and I would rate it a 5 as well.
Overall, my experience with ADT has been excellent, and I highly recommend them to others.

Unfortunately, my experience with ADT so far hasn't been ideal. It's been less than a month since the installation, and I've encountered issues with the smoke detectors—they all indicate low battery after less than two weeks and constantly beep. I had to pay someone to fix the beeping, which is an unexpected hassle.
When I attempted to reach ADT for support, I was told I would have to wait on hold for 60 minutes, which was frustrating. I believe their customer service should be more responsive, and a 60-minute wait is unreasonable. The installation process, however, was performed by Karson, who was courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. He provided his contact information and told me to reach out if issues arose, although I haven't yet contacted him about the smoke detectors.
Additionally, I've had issues with billing. My husband had ADT at my daughter's house which is right down the street from me. I wanted them to cut it off down there and bring it to my house. In the process, I had to pay over $1,000 down there but they still have not cut that off down at that house. They said it would take 30 days to cut that off. She's still getting that, but I told her I wasn't paying anymore. Then here at my house, I have to pay 800-something dollars for three months to have mine and that's a bit high. Karson didn't tell me it was gonna be like that, but that's okay. I'll pay it because I've had a deal with ADT. When I had this installed, I paid 808.20, 43.01, and 71.34 to even have my security turned on. For this month on the 19th, I gotta pay 808.20 then I gotta pay it next month and I have my equipment paid off. That's a bit much for equipment when I already had it installed at another place.
Overall, I'd rate my experience with ADT around a 3 out of 5 due to the cost and unresolved issues. While the installation was handled well, the ongoing customer service and pricing are areas I believe need significant improvement.

God forbid you move and call to cancel. If you can actually get someone to say they cancelled it, it still will never get cancelled. There is no hope with this company. I've tried to cancel mine 5 times in the past few years and my mom's in assisted living for 2 months yet they still bill and say they cancel and never do.

I have been using ADT home security for my properties in Las Vegas and California. My reason for choosing ADT over other security systems is rooted in my previous experience with them and my understanding of their systems. Many years ago, ADT worked well for me, and as an IT professional with experience in the security sector, I felt comfortable choosing them again.
In terms of their performance, I've encountered some challenges primarily related to their customer service. The sales personnel have been a bit disappointing. They often promise follow-ups that don't materialize. This has occurred on multiple occasions, particularly with proposals to enhance my security system. The sales representative I dealt with in Las Vegas seemed inexperienced and lacked the follow-through I had expected. I still have not managed to extend my system due to these follow-up issues. It feels like I would need to escalate these concerns to her supervisor to see any progress, which is inconvenient.
Overall, while the system itself functions, the service aspect needs improvement. If I were to rate my experience, I would give ADT a middle rating. The functionality is there, but better service and communication are necessary for a seamless consumer experience.

A friend had recommended ADT, mentioning their reliability and expertise. My experience with ADT has been very positive. The customer service team is friendly and answered all my questions satisfactorily. I've had to call them a few times, mainly for issues with my medical alert pendant, and each time, they assisted me comprehensively over the phone.
The installation process was smooth. The technicians demonstrated a thorough understanding of the system and took the time to explain everything to me, which was particularly helpful given my age. I appreciate that the equipment is straightforward and doesn't involve unnecessary complications, reducing the chance of running into problems. ADT is a well-known company. I heard about it years ago. During the initial setup, the salesperson was knowledgeable and walked me through everything. However, my experience with the system hasn't been entirely positive. Within the first 30 days, I've faced numerous problems. The system has triggered false alarms multiple times, causing the police to visit my house frequently. Additionally, it consistently shows a low battery alert despite it being brand new. I was advised to reset the system by removing the battery and pressing a button for 15 seconds, which felt cumbersome given I've barely started using it. Furthermore, the front doorbell camera's battery died within five days and needed recharging. Managing these issues is challenging as I work long hours and don't have time to constantly troubleshoot.
To compound matters, I received messages indicating my system isn't being monitored, which is alarming. Despite contacting support, my trouble with them mostly led to unresolved issues, especially after a failed call during diagnostics. It's upsetting to deal with these issues so soon, especially when I haven't paid my first bill yet. My frustrations have grown, and I'm considering canceling my service.

The sales representative was really helpful and the installation process went smoothly as well; the technician was knowledgeable and ensured everything was tidy afterward. I've been an ADT Home Security customer for over three years. I initially chose them because I think I saw a commercial, but they've been a known brand forever. Recently, I've faced an issue with my base indicating a loss of Wi-Fi connection, although it still establishes a cellular connection, and this happens often. If a friend were considering ADT, I would recommend them if they are looking for reliable home security services. Overall, my experience has been positive.

My girlfriend and I decided to get an ADT home security system due to some strange occurrences around her property, such as people camping out and leaving items on her land. Initially, she had planned to set up low-grade cameras, but we opted for ADT after receiving an email about it. The technician who came out was great. The system has been performing well overall, but the doorbell battery struggles in cold weather, needing a charge every three days during cold snaps. Additionally, the doorbell camera sometimes misses activity, like quiet deliveries.
Other than that, I'd recommend ADT because of the Google Nest system they provided us. The cameras have good resolution, and the technician was attentive to our needs regarding coverage and camera angles. Contacting a representative is fairly straightforward, although there is some waiting time, but not excessively so. The price is excellent, deserving a 5 out of 5, and I love the online tools available.

ADT is a Scam – Stay Far Away! ADT is nothing more than a corporate scam operation disguised as a home security company. Their business model is built on deception, sneaky contracts, and fraudulent billing practices. If you value your money and sanity, do NOT sign up with ADT! Despite switching to self-monitoring, which should be FREE, ADT continued to bill me without my consent. When I tried to resolve it, I was met with useless customer service reps who did nothing but give me the runaround. And when I refused to pay for services I never agreed to, they threatened to send me to collections—for a measly $19.99! That’s how desperate they are to squeeze money out of customers.
This company traps people in predatory contracts filled with hidden fees, auto-renewals, and shady fine print. They make cancelling as difficult as possible, and even when you think you’re done with them, they find a way to keep charging you. ADT does NOT care about your security—they care about locking you into endless payments and scaring you into submission. There are far better and more honest security options out there. Avoid ADT at all costs!

I conducted extensive research and compared various home security systems and ADT's well-established reputation, installation service, and monitoring features appealed to me. The salesperson I spoke with initially led me to believe that a base unit wasn't necessary, which influenced my cost expectations. However, when the installer arrived, he insisted the base unit was required, contradicting what I had been told. Although I was unhappy with this discrepancy at the time, I am now glad to have the base unit.
Despite the initial issues, I've found convenience in using ADT's features, especially being able to arm and disarm the system from my phone. As someone who was hesitant about relying on my phone, I was surprised by how much I appreciate this functionality. My favorite feature is being able to manage the system without hurrying out or into the house.
I would recommend ADT for their comprehensive service from start to finish and there's service available 24/7 if I have any questions. While I appreciate the completeness and convenience of ADT, I do think the pricing could be more competitive. Overall, I have found tools like their mobile app to be excellent.

After 20 years as a customer I find many other companies at close to half the price. I decide to switch. I call to cancel. Now they want to lower my bill, give new offers because I'm a long time customer. When I say no they tell me I have to cancel 30 days in advance. What a nice treatment for a 20 year customer.

We had a very disappointing experience with ADT. Their equipment started malfunctioning almost immediately after installation, which defeated the purpose of having a security system in the first place. When we reached out for support, the customer service was subpar—slow responses, lack of helpful solutions, and overall poor communication. To make matters worse, even after canceling our service due to these ongoing issues, we were still required to pay for all of the equipment. We expected better from a company that claims to provide peace of mind. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but that. We would not recommend ADT based on our experience.

I wanted reliable security, and I heard that ADT was the best and most experienced in the field. I've been an ADT customer for a long time and I've always had a good experience with their monitoring services.
In terms of the functionality and performance, the security system works well overall. However, replacing the battery can be a bit of a challenge. The way the sensors are installed makes it difficult for me to reach them, so I need assistance from their team.
I've interacted with the ADT team a few times, and they have always been informative and polite. They answered my questions knowledgeably, which I appreciate. I haven't needed to use the service in an actual emergency, but their responsiveness is reassuring. If the alarm goes off and the code isn’t entered within a certain time, they promptly notify us.
I feel very safe with the system in place. Sometimes, my son accidentally trips the alarm, but ADT does a good job of making sure everything is okay before involving emergency services.
My favorite feature is the night mode setting, which we use regularly. It provides a sense of security while we're at home in the evenings. I haven't had much interaction with customer service, but when I did call to order some batteries, the experience was okay, despite the long wait time.
The online tool is helpful, though I did need to watch some YouTube videos to fully understand how to replace the battery in the unit. As for the pricing, I find it reasonable given the two panels, external camera, and sensors we have, with the bill being around $70.
Overall, I'm satisfied with ADT and would recommend their services to others.

I Do not like customer service. Very rude and will never use again. Wanted to cancel and they kept wanting me to go with them. After I told them I did not want them over and over they finely canceled. Poor service and poor quality of equipment. Never again for me.

I decided to try ADT after doing some research online. I've had their system for a few weeks now. My interactions with the sales rep were positive, and the installation team was polite, helpful, and clean. So far, my experience with ADT has met my expectations.
The price seems reasonable, so I'd also give it a 4 in terms of value. However, I find the app aspect a bit frustrating, rating it a 2. The requirement to use both the ADT app and the Google Home app seems unnecessary; it would be much more convenient to have just one app.

I experienced domestic violence three years ago, and with my perpetrator being released soon, my worker advised installing a home security system for my family's safety. ADT has significantly contributed to my sense of security. I really appreciate the doorbell camera, which allows me to see who is approaching my home, something I couldn't do before since I lack a peephole. It’s especially reassuring when I'm home alone with my children.
The installation process with ADT went smoothly. The technician was committed, polite, and answered all our questions thoroughly. He really made sure everything was working perfectly.
I wholeheartedly recommend ADT to anyone needing a reliable security system. Their service has been excellent, and I’ve had nothing but a positive experience. I went with ADT after my wife recommended it. I went online to find out more information and placed an order. ADT handled the installation themselves, which was fine although it did take quite some time, approximately 3 to 5 hours. They provided a walkthrough of the system after completing the setup.
My experience with ADT's system has been positive. It works well, picking up movements, including animals and cars, much better than the generic security system I used earlier. If a friend or family member asked about my experience, I'd tell them that it works quite well.
However, I ran into issues with the pricing. Initially, I was told it would be $14 per month, but once the installer came out, I was informed it would be over $80. This was disappointing, as the quoted and eventual prices should have been consistent. Although I tried to clarify this with customer service, the responses were unsatisfactory.
On the customer service side, I found the installer could have been more professional in appearance. As someone who's worked in customer service, I found the experience less than ideal even though the job was done properly.
Pricing-wise, because of the unexpected increase, I’d rate my satisfaction as a 2. The app, however, is user-friendly and practical. It's easy to navigate and even allows for payments through it, so I’d give it a 5 for convenience. I had to play with it to find where I could pay through the app, but it's pretty simple and self-explanatory.
Overall, while the system itself works perfectly, the disparity in pricing and the slight lack of professionalism in customer service were the downsides.

Through an internet search, I discovered ADT and decided to explore their services further. When the ADT salesperson came to my house, I initially thought their customer service was great. However, I was disappointed when the quoted price was significantly higher than expected once they arrived for installation. This unexpected upcharge left me feeling pressured to make a quick decision without having time to consider other competitors, which was quite misleading and frustrating.
As for the package I received, I wasn't entirely satisfied. Although they installed a front doorbell, it hasn't worked since installation. Despite noticing the issue two days after they set it up, I haven't reached out to ADT as I assumed there would be a charge for them to inspect it, so I've just been dealing with it meanwhile.
Overall, I would rate my overall experience with ADT as a 3 out of 5. While their customer service was good and the price seemed reasonable, the functionality of their online services or app left much to be desired, as it was difficult to navigate and probably deserves just a 2 out of 5.

After moving into my new home in Katy, Texas, the neighborhood had numerous solicitors, and one evening, an ADT sales representative came by. She noticed my existing SimpliSafe system and pointed out its downsides, pitching ADT's superiority. I discovered that the house was already pre-wired with a system from a company acquired by ADT, which made conversion easy. Despite the late hour, I agreed to the service.
I've been with ADT for over a year, but I plan to switch once my contract ends. After installation, there was one visit related to a referral from ADT to a solar company. They also had to adjust a sensor on my garage door, but beyond that, there has been little follow-up. My interactions with their customer service have been minimal.

My parents have always used ADT's services, making me familiar with them since childhood. Over the years, I've noticed a significant improvement in their offerings. The systems have most definitely changed from being a little more sophisticated to being really easy to use. One of the major enhancements is that installing the equipment doesn't require drilling holes in walls anymore, which is a huge plus.
During my setup, the ADT team handled the installation professionally and demonstrated excellent knowledge. I currently have door chimes, door sensors, and a motion sensor. These features perfectly meet my expectations.
There was an instance when our ADT alarm went off while we were on vacation in another state. ADT promptly contacted us and dispatched the sheriff's department to ensure everything was safe at our home, which was incredibly reassuring.
Overall, I have had a fantastic experience with ADT and would readily give them 5 stars. While I haven't interacted much with their customer service team, the products themselves easily deserve a 10 out of 10, and their app is remarkably intuitive and user-friendly. I also find their pricing to be fair and reflective of the value provided.

My ADT home security system meets my expectations, and I feel more secure with it in place. I've had it for around 14 years and the ability to receive notifications and know which doors are open is really beneficial. However, customer service could be improved. The representatives can sometimes be short-tempered and not very attentive, but the technician visits and installations have gone pretty well. I moved into a new house where ADT was already installed, as the previous owner used their service. I continued with ADT, although some updates were necessary since the system hadn't been in use for a while. The process involved adding new wiring and installing additional sensors on windows.
My experience with the customer service during installation was less than satisfactory. The installer seemed unsure of himself, and shortly after the installation, I received a false warning in the middle of the night. Upon investigation, I discovered a sensor had fallen off the window. When I contacted ADT for help, they sent me double-sided tape to fix it myself instead of sending a technician, which I found disappointing.
Although I rarely use the system since I'm mostly at home, it provides peace of mind when I'm traveling. I travel frequently, indulging in photography, which is my passion. Even with the customer service issues, I am not dissatisfied with the ADT system itself. However, getting in touch with ADT for additional installations, like a doorbell or an extra camera, has been challenging. Despite these frustrations, I am still interested in further upgrading my security system with ADT.

In the three years that I've had ADT, my experience with them has been really positive. The system's quality has remained consistent over the years, meeting my expectations well. My last interaction with a sales representative was very good, and though I haven't interacted much with customer service, maybe once or twice, the experiences were satisfactory.

My experience with ADT Home Security has been quite satisfactory overall. The technicians who came for installation were decent and did their job well. However, I face a challenge because there's no electricity in my garage, which means every two weeks, I need to climb a ladder to charge the cameras in my alley that face the front of my house. This is quite inconvenient, and I wish ADT had informed me that electricity was necessary to avoid this hassle.

ADT has a strong reputation as a reliable company. The entire process with them has been smooth, particularly the installation. The installer was informative and pleasant, making the experience comfortable and welcoming. I've transitioned from Ring to ADT, and I'm impressed with the camera clarity and system functionality—no issues whatsoever.
My favorite feature is the ability to access the cameras and lock/unlock my door via cell phone. The added sense of security has been significant, especially as I work midnight shifts as a nurse assistant, leaving my family at home. Knowing our home is protected by an alarm system gives me peace of mind.

My experience with ADT has been a mix of positives and a few challenges. The technician who came for the installation was excellent—very personable and helpful. When some discrepancies arose between what the salespeople promised and what the installer was providing, he acted as an intermediary and worked everything out so I could get the necessary equipment without a significant price increase. This effort was much appreciated, although the inconsistency in the information from sales to installation was frustrating.
My system includes several window sensors and cameras, which I find very useful. Particularly, I love having the cameras as they add an extra layer of security that I hadn't experienced before. However, every few days, I receive calls about a disconnect between my system and the internet, which I have yet to resolve. I can't determine if it's an issue with my Verizon Internet or a glitch with ADT, though it's only a minor inconvenience at present.
In terms of customer service, I've encountered both engaging and efficient representatives, though the initial sales process left much to be desired. Misleading information on pricing was not pleasant, but the installation tech and manager were very helpful in resolving the matter.

I came across ADT's services while browsing through Facebook. When the technician arrived for installation, everything went smoothly until I was informed that a payment was required upfront. This was unexpected as I was initially told that the payment would be billed later. The technician, who was very pleasant, was unable to offer a workaround but eventually communicated that if I paid $98 upfront, I would receive two months free.
Despite this hiccup, I managed to get the payment processed, and the installation was completed without further issues. However, I haven't received confirmation regarding the two free months yet. Additionally, I was under the impression that my plan included a doorbell, two cameras, and sensors for my doors and windows. I later learned that adding another camera at the back would increase my monthly fee from the initial $56 to a higher amount.
Overall, even with these mix-ups, I am considering recommending ADT to my friends and family, as I plan to use their services for another property. In terms of customer service, I would rate it a 3, primarily because the details weren't thoroughly explained to me. The pricing also deserves a 3 since the cost increased unexpectedly. The online services and the app, however, have been great.

I've been aware of ADT basically my entire life, so when it came time to choose a home security provider, I went with them due to their long-standing reputation of 180 years in the business. So far, my experience has been pretty good. However, one significant issue I have is that when I lose power, I also lose all security protection. This is a problem because we frequently experience power outages in my area, and it feels as though ADT expects me to manage my own security during these times, which is not acceptable.
Another concern is my video doorbell monitor that requires recharging, unlike the other camera which is hardwired. It would be more convenient if all equipment could be hardwired to avoid the hassle of recharging.
Aside from those, when the power is on, I appreciate the ability to monitor my home easily and see what’s going on outside. Customer service interactions have been generally positive as well.
Overall, while I love many aspects of ADT, these issues—losing security during power outages and the inconvenience of recharging the doorbell—are significant enough to affect the overall satisfaction, resulting in me rating them a 3 out of 5.

I've been impressed with ADT's home security cameras and monitoring system, which I've had for three years. The setup process by the installer was thorough, and he did a great job ensuring the wires were hidden both inside and outside our home. The system alerts me on my phone, and I can easily manage it if there's an unexpected alarm.
The nightly routine of activating and deactivating the alarm every morning has become second nature. When we purchased our home, the ADT system was already installed, and we decided to keep it. Our interactions with their customer service have been fine. If we needed assistance, they promptly sent someone out. The installation process wasn't too extensive since the system was already there; they only needed to update a couple of cameras.
The major issue we faced was a significant price increase, which wasn't communicated to us beforehand. Our monthly cost rose from around $40 to almost $55 without any warning. Additionally, we experienced a problem with the motion detector in the living room that ADT addressed by replacing it after it kept going off on its own.
If asked by friends or family, I would suggest they explore other alternatives due to the unexpected pricing changes. As for handling false alarms, ADT usually initiates a phone call once motion is detected.

I had to interact with ADT recently, and overall, my experience was good. The technician who came out was really helpful and efficient. However, the one major issue I have is with the app. It's not functioning as expected. Even after moving the router closer to improve the connection with the garage camera, the app often gets stuck when trying to view videos from earlier in the day. Additionally, it sometimes goes offline and back online unexpectedly, which might indicate a wiring or connection problem.
While the overall system works great, the app definitely needs significant improvement. If I were to rate my experience, I would give the service itself a 5, but the app a 3, indicating that it requires substantial enhancements. When I first moved into my home, it already had ADT equipment, so I decided to restart the service instead of installing a new system. I've been using ADT for about 3.5 years now. Unfortunately, my interactions with ADT haven't been great. When I initially reached out to restart the service, I was informed that my existing equipment was outdated, and I would need to purchase new equipment, which came with a significant cost. I declined, but they later offered the equipment for free if I signed up for additional services, which felt questionable.
Although they eventually resolved the situation, it seemed like they were always trying to upsell me. Furthermore, I've never felt the need to set the alarm. I live with four small dogs, and I'm confident they provide enough of a deterrent to intruders.
Moreover, the alarm occasionally goes off when I close my windows, even though it's not set, which is frustrating. Given my experience, I would rate ADT a 2 out of 5 stars. After moving into my brand new home, I didn't want any break-ins, so I decided to go with ADT. The installation process was straightforward. The installer came, set everything up, and showed me how to use the system both when I am home and away. However, I was unhappy when they tried to upsell me with cameras, which I initially declined.
Eventually, I decided I did want cameras inside my house, but for the past two and a half years, I've been unable to get ADT to come out and discuss them with me or provide any pricing. This lack of follow-up was disappointing, and eventually, I just gave up.
Regarding their customer service, I had an issue where the batteries went bad, and they wanted to charge me $27 for new ones. I found it frustrating since it's their equipment, but they made it clear that replacing the batteries was on me. I ended up ordering them from Amazon for $5.99 and fixing it myself.
The pricing has been another point of contention. They quoted me a price, but despite numerous ads for additional services, they never followed through on my requests for an indoor camera. As a result, I turned to Ring, similar to my neighbor, for my indoor camera needs as ADT seemed uninterested in further assisting once the initial setup was done.
Overall, I would not recommend ADT based on my experience. Despite a decent installation process, their ongoing customer service and additional support have been severely lacking.

I get a good discount with ADT through a partnership with State Farm. My system has been in place for about two months now. My interactions with the sales team were positive; I made my purchase online and added some items during the in-person installation. My previous experiences with ADT were satisfactory, but the latest installation didn't meet expectations. Initially, I was quoted $49 per month over a recorded line, but when the technician arrived, the charge was $59, which was disappointing. Additionally, the installation process had its flaws. The doorbell wasn't tested and didn't work properly, leaving me to fix it afterwards. While the Google Nest integrated well, the sound from the doorbell was non-functional initially.

I used to have ADT in my home at another address. I have had good luck with their product. I like their product, the features, and all of the different security options, and I decided to use them again.
Most of my interactions with ADT have been handled online, and I find their online service to be very efficient. It's straightforward to use, and I can accomplish everything I need through their online platform. The installation team was very helpful and ensured everything was set up correctly, making sure all aspects were covered and in the right place. They did a really good job.
As for the features of my service package, I have had no issues whatsoever, and it definitely meets my expectations. While we have added a few things on our own, we haven't made any upgrades through ADT yet.

My experience with ADT's customer service has been positive, especially with the installers. They advised me against certain equipment choices proposed by salespeople, which turned out well, showcasing the installers' practical experience. The system overall is functional and dependable.
While I've had issues with fire and carbon monoxide monitoring setup in Massachusetts due to local regulations, ADT maintains good relations with local police. This was evident when a false alarm from my end was still promptly checked by police. For these reasons, I would rate ADT's service at a 5. Their customer service is responsive, and their collaboration with emergency services provides an added layer of security.

ADT's home security system was referred by a neighbor to us about 14 years ago. Initially, things were fine, but my experiences with ADT representatives have been quite frustrating over time. I called them when we put in new windows and needed the sensors replaced. They sent a young technician who installed the sensors, but we've had recurring problems ever since.
A specific issue happened about a month ago. We left for a trip and the system wouldn't function properly; it kept indicating that windows were open when they were not. Despite technicians coming out to supposedly fix the issues, these problems persist. Most recently, an alarm was triggered, and the keypad indicated our bedroom window was open, even though it was firmly shut. Additionally, the system occasionally loses internet connectivity despite having a stable connection for other devices like Netflix and our phone.
Whenever I've tried getting assistance, the phone support would temporarily resolve the problem, but the issues would resurface after a couple of hours. I even discovered that I'm supposed to be able to operate the system via my phone, but misinformation from a technician led me to believe I needed a new system for that feature. A later technician showed me that I could indeed control the system using my phone. Furthermore, the alarm isn't loud enough for the neighbors to hear if it goes off, which defeats the purpose of having an alarm system.
If I were to rate ADT on a scale of 1 to 5, I would definitely give them a -10. My experience with their customer service wouldn't be any better, rating it around 2 or 2.5. The representatives are polite, but either the system doesn't work, or they're inadequately trained to solve the issues. Overall, it's been a never-ending cycle of issues, and I just don't have faith in the system's reliability anymore.

When I married my husband, he'd had ADT for a while, and I've kept it. I've had it for 30 years and I feel safer with it. I like the monitoring, and it's not difficult to reach someone as well. Several years ago, I had a false alarm wherein one of the sensors went off and we don't know why. I wasn't home and ADT called and couldn't get in touch with us. They called the police and they came out. Other than that, I have been at home and I've opened up the door. I usually shut the system off in time. If not, they call and I tell them, then they ask for my code. Most of my friends and family know I have ADT and I'm satisfied with it. It works.

ADT offered an alarm service that seemed reliable at the time. However, I'm not very satisfied with them currently. I have outdated equipment and as a loyal customer, I expected to be offered newer technology, or at least an affordable upgrade option. But instead, ADT is asking me to pay $1000 to be compatible with their new offerings. It's frustrating to see new customers getting upgraded systems while long-term customers like me are left with old devices unless we shell out extra money.
As for their features, my system only offers basic functionalities – it triggers alarms when doors open and not much else. I haven't been informed about any other features, so it feels like I still have an old-fashioned setup, similar to an old cell phone compared to the latest iPhone.
When it comes to feeling secure, I’d say it’s average. The old equipment doesn't inspire much confidence in its effectiveness. I wouldn’t recommend ADT based on my experience. They seem to prioritize new customers over those who've been supporting them for years, failing to offer upgrades or incentives for long-term clients. In my view, once you’re an established customer, it feels like you’re somewhat forgotten.

We got ADT when we moved into a new house, which was somewhat isolated. Not knowing our neighbors well at the time, we thought it was a wise decision for our security. Overall, my interaction with ADT's team has been really good. We've had minimal direct contact with them over the years, but there was one instance where they helped us switch to a self-service system after we discontinued our landline. The technician was very knowledgeable and installed the necessary equipment efficiently, and it's been functioning well ever since.
In terms of the system's functionality, it's been quite reliable. There was one recent incident where my granddaughter accidentally triggered the alarm by entering the wrong code. ADT contacted us within 15 minutes to verify and resolve the situation. Unfortunately, I didn't remember the passcode, which led to the police being called. Although it was a bit chaotic, I appreciate the system's prompt response to potential threats. If I were to rate ADT on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I would give it a very satisfied 5, despite the recent hiccup.

Throughout the 15 years that I’ve been a customer of ADT, the service itself has been great. I haven't encountered many issues until we moved our business. The main challenge was reaching a representative who could assist over the phone, as I've found that the customer service aspect could be improved. It's often difficult to get someone who is easy to understand on the line, and like many companies these days, they prefer directing customers to their website for help. My family and I have been utilizing ADT for approximately 10 years. We originally learned about ADT because many people in our area used their services, and we decided to follow suit. In terms of performance and functionality, ADT's system has been reliable and meets our needs. The customer service experience has generally been positive; they're quite responsive whenever we need assistance, ensuring that someone is sent out promptly if needed.
Contacting ADT has never been difficult and regarding security, ADT provides a good sense of safety. The system functions effectively, activating when it should. However, I do have another home in Florida where I use a different service due to its cost-effectiveness and ease of self-installation. Yet, given ADT's longstanding service at my primary residence, and its solid performance, I chose to keep their system installed rather than switch to something else.

In the four and a half years that I’ve been using ADT, my experience has been very positive. From my first interaction with the sales team to the installation process, everything went smoothly, and I haven't had any issues with their service.
I am particularly impressed with the equipment; it's all been reliable and functional as promised. One of my favorite features is the mobile app, which allows me to manage the system remotely, providing added convenience when I'm away from home.

I have been a customer of ADT Home Security since 2008, with a hiatus of a couple of years. Overall, I appreciate the protection that ADT provides, but I've experienced recurring issues with their equipment, particularly with sensors not working properly in certain areas of my home. This has been a constant area of concern, making me feel less comfortable and secure, even though I value ADT as a company.
As someone with a house built in 1947, maybe the age of my home contributes to the issues, but I can't help but feel that the equipment isn't as reliable as it used to be. In the past, I never had any problems. I've tried reaching out to ADT about these issues, and while their customer service representatives are always helpful and kind, I've had some frustrations with needing to pay additional fees for a technician to come out and handle these equipment problems. I feel that as a customer already paying for the service, it's unfair to be charged for repairs that are not due to any fault of my own.
This situation has somewhat diminished my confidence in ADT's service and has left me considering looking into other companies. I liked ADT Home Security for its convenience but the customer service could be improved, particularly in understanding that physical and mailing addresses might differ in my area. It's been frustrating trying to explain why they have different zip codes despite being the same location.
The system itself is okay. But I find the battery situation problematic because when they go out, it causes unnecessary hassle by triggering the alarm instead of providing a clear signal or warning.
One major disappointment is the extreme rate hikes. I'd appreciate it if they offered more stable pricing without constant increases.

I recently had an upgrade of my ADT Home Security system, and I was extremely pleased with the installation experience. The gentleman who handled the installation was exceptional and truly deserves recognition for his excellent service. During this upgrade, I also decided to get a smoke alarm, which was a great addition recommended by the installation personnel.
The quality and features of the ADT system are satisfactory. However, I must admit, the technology is a bit intimidating for me as I am not very tech-savvy and a bit older. I remain very satisfied with ADT's services and would highly recommend it to others.

For the past 10 months, my family has faced recurring issues with our security panel. We’ve had numerous service visits, often requiring us to take time off work. I've been using ADT Home Security for nearly 22 years and my loyalty to ADT was more out of habit as I hadn't considered making a change. However, these persistent problems are concerning.
The customer service has been pleasant and I've rated it well, but the technical issues persist, even with a new control panel. ADT had a very good review and I decided to gog with them. However, my experience has been less than satisfactory. I started service on January 4, 2023. Unfortunately, by March, issues began to arise. The camera didn't recover footage of someone trying to enter my home, which forced me to use a Ring camera for security instead. The battery, which had a five-year guarantee, has already been replaced five times, and it's indicating low battery again. Despite contacting ADT multiple times to either replace the device or cancel the service entirely, they haven't assisted me properly and want to charge for disconnection.
Customer service is subpar. During one instance, I spent about 45 minutes trying to reach a supervisor due to unsatisfactory service and rudeness. I've been waiting for a callback since December 2023 but haven't received one. The financial burden of the service is significant, especially since my income has decreased, and I'm committed to maintaining my credit status despite these challenges.
While the website is useful, allowing easy control over the system, I do sometimes encounter issues with video storage limits after reaching the 6000 video mark. All in all, I would not recommend ADT.

After Hurricane Katrina, ADT Home Security was one of the main suppliers in Louisiana. My home has always felt secure with it. Notifications have been consistent whenever there's an issue. Once, during a remodel, someone tried to steal wood from my house, unaware of the alarm system. The alarm went off, notifying the police and myself, ensuring swift action.
Contacting ADT has generally been straightforward, with wait times around 15-20 minutes for queries like battery replacements. Even during COVID-19, their communication was efficient. Although I mentioned the possibility of reducing payments since I have two accounts, I genuinely trust ADT enough to use their service for both my properties.
When friends ask for recommendations, I always rate ADT highly and encourage them to use it too. Their customer service has been exceptional. Technicians are professional, and I'm grateful for their quality service. I used to have a different well-known company, but due to them going out of business, I switched to ADT and couldn't be happier with the transition.
On a scale, I'd rate their customer service a 5, though for pricing I'd give a 4, wishing for a slight reduction. ADT's online tools are also excellent, and I love that live representatives contact you instead of automated services when checking on your home. Overall, I'm very satisfied and pleased with ADT's services.

Someone I knew had ADT and I decided to use it. Over the almost two years that I’ve been using it, the quality of the service hasn’t changed much. The sales representative was pleasant but didn’t answer all my questions. I was supposed to have two cameras installed – one at the front and another at the back on the garage. Unfortunately, the camera for the garage was left without a power plug, meaning it’s never been operable. I've been paying for both cameras this entire time, regardless. Despite reaching out to ADT, the issue hasn't been resolved.
I've found this extremely frustrating because it looks like a clear oversight or mistake on their part. When it comes to their customer service, particularly my initial dealings, I'd rate it a 2 out of 5. For the pricing, given the issues, I'd give it a 1 out of 5. On the positive side, the online tool for arming and disarming the system on my phone works very well.

I initially got the service when I moved in, thanks to a recommendation from my real estate agent, and I’ve been using ADT for 20 years. Over the years, every time I've called, the staff has been incredibly professional. Technicians are always knowledgeable, patient, and excellent at explaining how the system works. I appreciate that there's never any pressure to upgrade or purchase additional services.
I would rate ADT's functionality highly—if I had to score it from 1 to 10, I'd give it a 9. My favorite feature is the mobile app, which allows me to arm and disarm the system remotely, perfect for those times when I forget to do it on my way out.
The sense of security ADT provides is outstanding. There was only one incident over the last two decades when the police were at my house because windows were jarred due to strong wind, not an actual intruder. It’s reassuring to know that the system is that sensitive.
I've had offers for cheaper services, but I remain with ADT because I feel secure and very satisfied with what they offer. Customer service, coverage, price, and the online tools all deserve a full rating in my book. I've recommended ADT to others and will continue to do so given my positive experience.

For 20 plus years, I've had a love-hate relationship with ADT. One of my major issues is with the proprietary nature of their technology, specifically the batteries for their touchpads. They are difficult to find and quite expensive. Additionally, if a battery gets low during the night, the touch pad in my bedroom lights up, and the only way to stop it is to physically take it off the wall or cover it up.
While the overall system functions fine, I am dissatisfied with the video doorbell. It doesn't stay synced despite having ample Wi-Fi, which has been frustrating. In terms of customer service, it's quite cumbersome. When I call with a technical problem, the first person often lacks the necessary knowledge, requiring my issue to be escalated. This process is time-consuming as I have to repeat my story multiple times.
However, my sense of security is great when the system is functioning properly. If asked to rate ADT, I'd likely give a 3 or 4 out of 5. These ongoing issues and the inefficiency in resolving them impact my overall satisfaction.

Dealing with ADT has been quite frustrating. Every time I spoke to a different representative, I got varying information about payment arrangements. Initially, I was told if I paid a specific amount, they would match it, but then someone else said I needed to pay more for the same deal. As for the system, it’s been unreliable. The cameras often don't work—sometimes it's the side door, other times the front door. Currently, the front door camera hasn't worked for three months, which is really inconvenient.
When I reached out for service help, they tried charging me, but now they say I need to catch up on my bill to get any repairs. The equipment often stops working, and troubleshooting is cumbersome and time-consuming, which I don’t have the patience for. To add to the nuisance, there's currently a battery issue with the system beeping in the house. Even ordering a replacement battery seems complicated—and I partly think it's due to some restriction they mentioned.
Despite these issues, most ADT representatives I've interacted with have been pleasant, although I've had a few hiccups recently with customer service not following through as expected. It's frustrating when the efficiency of customer service declines, particularly when trying to verify and accept an offer I was promised but then disconnected without follow-up.
As for costs, I believe the price is fair, and I do find ADT's online tools user-friendly. However, had I not renewed, given my current experience, I probably wouldn’t have chosen to continue with them, but the representative I spoke with at the time was very kind, which persuaded me otherwise.
Overall, I value having security, but consistent issues with equipment and varied responses from customer service make it hard to fully rely on ADT.

I purchased (not leased) my entire ADT system (Alarm panel and 22 door and window sensors). ADT sent a young unqualified man (he was about 16 years old) to install the system. He installed it improperly; the system quit working because the young man installed three of the sensors so the batteries could not be changed. ADT told me I owed them for the lease of the equipment... NONSENSE... I purchased the system outright. They sent to me a signed agreement that showed I would pay a monthly equipment charge; the signature was not mine; somebody at ADT FORGED my signature. I have called ADT 15 times to get this resolved... no resolution. I had to block ADT from charging my credit card. ADT is the WORST company I've ever dealt with. I am a retired CPA and I know very well what goes on in my financial life. I have over an 800 credit score... I am responsible. STAY AWAY FROM ADT...

We purchased a house in Pennsylvania and we’ve been there for almost a year and three quarters, but were in search of a reliable security system. I had seen ADT signs in several front yards, and they piqued my interest. After considering a few options, I decided to go with ADT because they seemed solid. A representative came to our house, which has quite a few doors and windows. Half of the house was built in 1890, the other half in 1990. So, we had to accommodate both those scenarios and had security for both sides. The installer provided a demo of the control panel and set things up efficiently, taking about three hours in total.
The system has worked well overall. There was an incident in January when high winds blew a door open, triggering the alarm and notifying local police. I appreciated the quick response, as police and neighbors contacted us, even though we were told we would face fines if it happened again.
In terms of customer service and installation, I would give ADT a solid 4 stars. They have been supportive and responsive, which I appreciate. However, in terms of pricing, I’d rate them a bit lower at 3 stars because it always seems a bit steep. The system’s navigation and layout are intuitive. While my wife might not agree entirely, I find it user-friendly.

ADT’s service has been consistently good in the three years I’ve had them. On the phone, the reps have been great and they did as well as they could. The service technicians who come to my home are always nice and make sure everything is tidy when they leave.
The features work well, particularly the integration with my phone, which I find very convenient. There was just one issue that still needs fixing, but overall, the service meets my expectations. While I would happily recommend ADT to friends, I'd rate the product itself a bit lower due to a minor inconvenience, giving it a 3 out of 5.

Our prior house had a local security service that was acquired by ADT, so we transitioned to their service then and continued with ADT when we relocated. The installation process went smoothly; the technician who set up our motion sensors and door alarms was professional. However, I faced a significant delay in receiving the yard signs I requested; they promised delivery in 4 to 6 weeks, yet it took a year and a half and a follow-up call to finally receive them a month later. Although I haven't had to use the alarm system in an emergency, I've accidentally set it off and know that it functions correctly. Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT positively, though there is room for improvement in their customer service, as the only significant interaction was the delayed yard signs.

ADT had a strong market reputation when I got them 30 years ago. However, my experience has not been very positive. There have been significant billing errors and failures with the installation of a new system. Overall, I would rate my satisfaction as about a 1.5 out of 5.
It's extremely difficult to reach a customer service representative. I have left messages without receiving a call back, and navigating their phone prompts to speak with a person is challenging. The hold times are often excessive, which concerns me about their response time to alarms.
If I were to recommend ADT on a scale from 1 to 5, I could only give a 2 at most. I would advise friends and family to be careful and consider alternatives when looking into home security solutions.

ADT has been around for a long time, and initially, I thought their service was good. However, I'm now searching for other options because I'm very disappointed with their service. If I hadn't invested so much in their equipment, I'd have switched companies already. I live in a rural area, and although I have 5G internet service, the ADT system barely functions. The monitor rarely works, requiring multiple resets to activate the alarm. The app is also frustrating; despite having a full signal, it often fails to connect or shows error codes. I've had technicians out multiple times, and they claim everything's fine, but the equipment is subpar despite being considered the best.
The monitor consistently shows errors, and I find it absurd considering how much I've spent. I feel like I could have purchased cheaper and more reliable options like a Ring doorbell and cameras from Amazon, with a separate monitoring service. My experience has been a nightmare. I often have to reboot the system a few times a week due to battery issues and false alerts. Customer service is also a hassle, with interminable waits on the phone unless you're a new customer, which seems to be a tactic to prioritize new sales over helping existing clients.

I used ADT before and was satisfied with their services. So, I decided to go with the again for my new home. The transition to my new home was seamless; they were efficient and handled everything without any issues. I had to switch to different equipment, but ADT managed everything smoothly. The installation process for my security system went well, and there were no problems. I got alarms installed on my front, rear, and side doors. ADT's customer service has been great. Once, I had an issue with the carbon monoxide alarm going off due to its position near the bathroom, which caused frequent false alarms. They promptly fixed the issue by adjusting the alarm's location.
I am a bit disappointed with the pricing as I'm being charged three different amounts monthly instead of one consolidated payment. Despite my requests to combine the charges, this issue remains unresolved. Also, the rear camera is currently not functional due to adverse weather conditions, but before this, everything worked efficiently. Other than that, I am satisfied with the overall monitoring services and I recommended them to one of my friends.

I had a neighbor dispute, so I got security because of that. Since ADT was the only option I knew of at the time, I signed up with them. Then, I had to move and had to get everything reset up at the new location. So I had some blips with that, but it all worked out. So far, the system functions well and I like the remote app. It allows me to set the alarm and turn it off remotely and it'll alert me if it goes off.
In the past, I was satisfied with ADT because every so often, I would get a notice that my rate was going up. I would call them and they would keep my rate the same because I've been a long-term customer. So I like that I get to maintain the lowest available rate at all times based on my years of loyalty. All in all, it's a good service to have to protect your home. There may be issues from time to time, but they try to work with you to resolve them. I feel a lot more secure knowing that I have those lawn signs out there and that my alarm will go off if somebody tries to break in my home. It's a deterrent to crime. The coverage is also good though could do better on the price.

I encountered a situation where I needed a new alarm installed on a replaced door. The ADT technician came out, installed the alarm, and unexpectedly signed an invoice with my name on it without my authorization. The invoice amount also differed from what I was originally quoted. After numerous calls and several months, ADT finally reversed the charge, but the explanation was inadequate.
The whole incident of my signature being forged was very unsettling, and the process to resolve it was frustrating. When ADT's vice president reached out to resolve the issue, they asked me for several documents to verify my signature, which I found invasive and refused to provide. So far, the system is functioning adequately but there are no features that stand out as particularly impressive. I'm completely dissatisfied with ADT's service and would rate them as low as possible.

I heard about ADT through a friend, and then I came across an offer from Best Buy that was just too good to pass up. My experience with ADT so far has been fine, with no complaints. I've had my ADT system for about a month, since it was already installed when we moved into our new house. The overall experience with ADT has been smooth, and everything generally works fine. I would recommend ADT to friends and family based on my personal experience. However, one issue I encountered is that I keep receiving notifications despite having turned them off through the ADT app. This is something that I believe could be improved for a more seamless user experience. Also, although I haven't needed to contact customer service yet, I am planning to reach out because I want to purchase more equipment. Currently, I'm uncertain about how to buy additional equipment and need assistance syncing and setting up existing equipment that isn’t working properly.

The ADT system has been helpful overall. I engage it every night, and I rest easy knowing that if someone attempts to break in, an alarm will alert the sheriffs. I also have a surveillance camera, which adds to the cost, but it's worth it for the peace of mind I get. The overall quality of the system has been good this year and was the same last year. My experience with ADT began when a representative came to our door shortly after we moved into our house. We knew we wanted an alarm system, and their visit was convenient, so we decided to proceed with ADT. The installation was fantastic, but troubleshooting can be frustrating. While the app allows me to handle some issues, it's challenging when I need further assistance. It often takes multiple calls to resolve a problem, and having no option for a video call or in-person help can be cumbersome.
In terms of system performance, it's generally good. However, the battery in our base panel is dead, so there's no backup during power outages. I've managed to change the batteries in the sensors, but not in the main panel, and I haven't contacted ADT for help with this yet. Despite that, the security sense I get from ADT is reassuring. They always call immediately if the alarm is triggered, often by my kids. I appreciate the mobile app feature, which lets me check which door or window caused an alert. I installed the ADT system myself, and its functionality is excellent. I have been using them for a while now, and the only issue I've encountered is with the monitoring fees, which were a bit higher than I expected. Despite this, the performance of the system is top-notch. Interacting with the ADT team has been very positive as well. It's easy to get in contact with a representative when needed, and customer service deserves a top rating. I have been a customer of ADT Home Security for about two and a half years. My initial interaction with their sales representative was positive, although there were some things I wish I had been informed about. After experiencing a burglary, I chose ADT because my previous alarm system was bypassed, and I needed better security.
When the new system was installed, I assumed it was connected to electricity like my previous one. It was only later that I discovered it was internet-based, which was a bit of a shock. This misunderstanding caused an issue when the system stopped working. I spent over an hour identifying the problem, assuming it was related to an outdoor electrical transmitter when it was actually a transmitter plugged into the wall indoors. The system initially had issues with staying secure to the wall, which I've since resolved.
Though I have cameras outside for added security, I'm uncomfortable with the reliance on the internet due to its instability. Another concern is the recurring $30 monthly fee for equipment and service, which adds up over the year, yet they wanted to charge for a technician visit despite this fee.
Additionally, I wasn't made aware that the system's batteries would need changing until one died. This lack of notification hasn't been reassuring, and it poses a problem when I'm not home.
Overall, I would rate ADT a 4 because, while its service has its upsides, such as helpful customer service, issues like the unexpected reliance on the internet and battery changes affect my confidence. I have used ADT since I lived in California, and continue to use it now in Las Cruces. Overall, I'm not completely satisfied. One major frustration is the difficulty in getting help when I need it. For example, when I have needed new batteries or assistance, it has taken several attempts and a long time to reach someone.
The customer service representatives have not been very helpful. They often leave me on hold and instruct me to do tasks myself. This is frustrating because I pay for their service, expecting assistance without having to troubleshoot or solve issues on my own. I hope not to need their help again anytime soon.
In terms of recommending ADT to others, I wouldn't. I rate my experience about a 2.5, since I wouldn't advise my family or neighbors to choose ADT. Despite my dissatisfaction, I continue using their service, though I often question why.

I initially chose ADT 17 years ago when I moved to my current location because there were no other providers I was aware of, and the previous owner already had ADT. Over time, my experience with the system has been mixed. While the system has its moments, I find myself dissatisfied with the overall service. One specific issue is that I am expected to pay for battery replacements for my smoke detector despite having a service contract. I don't feel comfortable climbing ladders to change batteries, and it bothers me that there's an additional charge for this service.
Additionally, my bill increased without any prior notice. I wasn't notified of the monthly charge increase for 2025, which is frustrating as my paycheck hasn't increased. This has pushed me to the point where I'm considering canceling the service. When discussing this with customer service, they indicated that my contract included the services, but in the past, I never had to pay additional fees for such replacements.
Another issue is with low battery notifications. While they are available for smoke detectors, I don't receive alerts for low batteries on my window and door sensors. Such notifications should be made available to help maintain the system efficiently. Also, the loud beeping of low battery alerts is very bothersome for my pets. The wait time to reach customer service is lengthy and has worsened over time. Recently, I had an issue with both of my cameras being out for an extended period. I contacted ADT's customer service, and a representative guided me through some troubleshooting steps, but the issue persisted. The representative suggested that I might need a new Wi-Fi router, which seemed frustrating as my current router is relatively new and their suggestion to replace it every three years seemed excessive. I was not happy because they wouldn't send a technician without charging, claiming that since I'm purchasing their equipment, I'm liable for those costs.
Mysteriously, a day or two after my call, the doorbell camera started working again. It didn't sit right with me that I'd be charged for a technician when the equipment should be functioning correctly. I got ADT because my house was burglarized and I needed an alarm system. Overall, the functionality and performance of the system are good, but there are a few issues. For instance, the system currently indicates that one of my windows is open when it isn't. I've also consistently had trouble with the left-side camera going out, even though the right one works perfectly. Calling customer service has been frustrating due to service fees; having to pay $100 each time they come out isn't ideal. Additionally, after I installed a new battery following the instructions, the keypad started showing a tamper alert message I couldn't resolve, and now I can't arm the system from my home panel, only from my phone. A while ago, I requested new stickers and a sign, which they promised to send, but three to four months later, I haven't received them. Despite these issues, I still feel safe, especially as I have a pit bull as an extra layer of security.

My experience with ADT has been mixed. I initially had a better experience with ADT in Myrtle Beach, so when I moved, I decided to continue with them. However, I found myself unexpectedly locked into a three-year contract, which I didn't intend. I tried to resolve this with customer service, but it was confirmed that I had indeed signed it. They did offer a minor discount by removing some equipment, which was appreciated, but I decided I won't renew once the contract ends in 2026.

I initially became an ADT customer because they acquired Brinks, which I was using at the time. If I had the choice, I wouldn’t be with ADT due to their high costs and unsatisfactory customer support. When I’ve had to call customer service, I've often spent 20 to 30 minutes on the line, getting transferred between multiple departments without resolving my issue. Their hours are quite limited, almost like bank hours, which doesn’t accommodate my schedule well.
The features they offer, like the Ring system, aren't exceptional compared to other providers, and the response time can be delayed. As someone who works in IT, I find there is nothing their service provides that surpasses smaller security firms. If I were advising a friend or family about ADT, I would suggest looking for a more cost-effective provider. My mother-in-law used ADT's services. So, I decided to go with them and so far, I'd encourage friends and family to consider their service for their home security needs. My interaction with the ADT team has been minimal, but it's been fine when necessary and quite easy to get in touch with a real person. The system functions well overall, though I sometimes wish they would call sooner if an alarm goes off. ADT was the most recognized security provider I heard about. The sales representative I interacted with was friendly and discussed the services that suited my needs. Although he is no longer with the company, he initially offered quite a bit of assistance.
However, the installation process had its issues, particularly with the doorbell installation. The doorbell is battery-operated due to malfunctioning wires, requiring frequent recharging every 2 to 3 days. Moreover, it fails to ring inside the house or notify my phone, making it quite ineffective as I can't monitor it continuously for visitors.
I reached out to the salesperson for help as he provided his contact details, but soon found out he had left the company. Unfortunately, I haven't pursued further assistance from ADT's customer service team.

I've been with ADT Home Security for about 25 years, starting back when it was known as Protection One. Sticking with ADT has mostly been due to the hassle of switching. While I'm generally content, I'm not thrilled with the video cameras they provide now. The newer models don't pick up movements as effectively as the previous cameras I had — for instance, they only catch my lawn guy twice, and sometimes they miss significant footage like someone pulling into my driveway.
In terms of equipment, I've found that if someone kicks in my door, the alarm does its job, and that's crucial for me. As a retired police officer, my main concern is knowing if someone breaks into my home. Regarding customer service, I've had some issues getting ADT to come out promptly at times, despite being a longstanding customer. Still, their technicians are knowledgeable and complete their tasks well. They clean up after themselves and are thorough during visits.
Overall, while there's room for improvement with the video cameras, the core security system works effectively, and the technicians are reliable. If I were to rate my experience, it'd probably be a 4 out of 5 due to the camera issues, but customer service itself would get a 5 out of 5.

I became aware of ADT through my son-in-law and daughter who had their services in Denver, Colorado. I've been with ADT for approximately three and a half years now. Overall, my experience with ADT has been negative.
The initial encounter with the sales representative was not very positive. I contacted them after receiving an email offering a $200 Visa card for a referral. After discussing our requirements at length and receiving a price estimate, the actual costs turned out to be much higher. When I inquired about the Visa card, the representative claimed ignorance, and the call was disconnected unexpectedly. In hindsight, this should have been a warning sign.
Regarding the service itself, my wife and I have faced numerous challenges. While I can access their app on my phone, my wife has had persistent issues connecting. We've also experienced problems with the back door sensor. Despite receiving new materials to install the device ourselves and speaking with support, the issue persists. Additionally, our video doorbell has been problematic. Despite multiple troubleshooting attempts and support calls, it remains unreliable. Unfortunately, even though we're paying for these services, we aren't experiencing their benefits.
Given my experiences, I wouldn't recommend ADT, especially considering the pricing. I was previously with a different service provider where I paid about a third of the current monthly rate of $90.95. I had hoped to upgrade to ADT due to their reputation but am now locked into a contract that I can't exit.

I recently installed an ADT Home Security system after my husband passed away, as my sons wanted me to have some added security. The initial interaction with their sales representative was positive, and the technician who came to install the system was very nice and diligent, even though it took him quite some time to set up everything. He had to put sensors on all the windows and doors, which was a lengthy process, and he left quite late. Because of the time, he didn't have much opportunity to explain the system thoroughly, so I've been learning how to use it through trial and error.
The system itself is taking some getting used to since I've lived my whole life without one. I've accidentally set off the alarm several times, but that's just a part of adjusting to new technology. Amidst the distress of my mother's recent passing, ADT misled me into a five-year contract, claiming they couldn't find any voice recordings of our agreement. Initially, they suggested they would adjust the contract term, but later claimed to have found the recordings, making the whole process feel dishonest. A technician convinced me to take a display monitor, falsely promising it was free, only for ADT to later charge me.
When I tried resolving these issues, they insisted on upholding the lengthy contract. The situation was particularly upsetting as I had just relocated from Massachusetts, where consumer protections might have been stronger. I feel absolutely deceived by ADT. My experience with ADT has been quite disappointing. Over the years, their pricing has been too high, and they declared all my equipment obsolete. Despite overcharging me for years with the assumption I could update or maintain my system, when I finally sought assistance, they informed me I needed a completely new installation and didn't offer a satisfactory solution.
Moreover, their customer service is lacking as there seems to be no escalation procedure within the company. The front-line representatives are the only ones available, and there's no way to reach a manager. To improve, ADT could establish a proper escalation procedure, be transparent with customers, eliminate high-pressure sales tactics, and offer more competitive pricing. I had a very disappointing experience with ADT. It started with a salesman promising me all kinds of benefits, which turned out to be false. I signed a contract thinking it was for two years, only to find out it was actually a three-year contract. Throughout this period, they kept increasing the prices annually.
A month after installation, one of the door sensors malfunctioned and the alarm system stopped working. When I contacted them, they wanted to charge me $150 to fix it, which I found unreasonable since I was already paying $65 a month for a service that didn't even work. Attempts to resolve this with their customer service were met with rudeness and unhelpfulness.
It seems they hire independent contractors to make promises they don't intend to keep. The whole experience left me dissatisfied, having spent a lot of money on a non-functional system.

My previous home security service went out of business, and I chose ADT mainly because it was listed first alphabetically and had a decent reputation then. However, I haven't had much interaction with the ADT team since signing up. Currently, I find it challenging to operate the system due to a lack of contact and guidance from ADT.

In terms of my experience with the system, I typically just turn it on at night and when I leave, and it has been working well for the most part. However, I did encounter a couple of issues at my second home. One of the units had to be replaced within the first year, and another unit required a battery replacement after about a year and a half. Those batteries were quite expensive, which was a bit frustrating. Fortunately, ADT was quick to resolve these issues by sending replacements, which was satisfactory.
Overall, the service package meets my expectations, although I find it somewhat pricey, particularly at my other house. Paying $70 a month makes me consider switching providers once the contract ends. I assume the cost is higher due to the inclusion of cameras.
Despite these concerns, I would rate ADT with a 4 out of 5 because I'm generally happy with the service.

Initially, my experience with the sales representative was positive and the installation technician was very knowledgeable and thorough, ensuring everything was cleaned up afterward. While they said they would address it, this inconsistency in pricing is a concern for me. I first started using ADT when I moved back to Washington in 2011. Their well-known brand identity initially drew me in. However, by 2018, I was interested in the new home security cameras, which ADT didn't offer at the time, so I switched to Google. Later, Google partnered with another company to manage and install the cameras until that partnership ended, and I ended up with ADT again due to their merger.
While ADT now provides my alarm system, I still use my Google cameras. The initial setup was explained to me thoroughly by a representative. Recently, I encountered an issue with the front door sensor. After a complicated series of calls and attempts to troubleshoot the problem myself with remote assistance, it was clear that a replacement of the sensor and magnet was necessary. The process took several days, and it was frustrating being asked to perform the installation myself.
Eventually, ADT sent a technician, but I was still charged for the visit, which was unfair since the malfunction wasn't my fault. It was an exhausting experience, especially as they attempted to resolve the issue over the phone, expecting me to handle it all without professional assistance. For someone in their 70s, dealing with such technicalities was quite a challenge, and ultimately, it just felt like too much. The whole experience left me a bit frustrated despite the eventual resolution.

At the end of my contract with ADT, a representative contacted me and asked if I intended to continue with their service. I clearly informed her that I did not. However, when my contract ended, ADT still withdrew nearly $200 from my account. When I contacted them to question this, they claimed I needed to notify them 30 days in advance in writing, which was never communicated to me during the call. This felt deceptive and illustrates poor business practices.
The cost of the service is far too high for the value provided. Once you purchase the equipment and have it installed, the ongoing expenses do not justify the service's benefits. While having a responsive call center might be valuable, the cost per subscriber is not worth it.
Despite notifying ADT of my decision, I'm still waiting on a refund. When I called customer service to address this, the representative was quite unhelpful and dismissive, which added to my frustration. They seemed more interested in asking irrelevant questions rather than just processing my request. Overall, this experience has left me significantly dissatisfied with ADT Home Security.

On the rare occasion when the system went offline, contacting ADT’s customer service was always a seamless experience, and they provided immediate solutions. I've only needed an in-person visit once when a remote sensor detached. The technician who assisted was punctual, knowledgeable, and even offered advice on sourcing batteries at a lower cost than purchasing through ADT.
I've been using ADT Home Security for several years now and have been extremely pleased with their system. The service package meets and even exceeds my expectations. Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT a solid 5 out of 5, especially for their customer service and the reliability of the alarm system. The only aspect where I feel there's room for improvement is the pricing, which I’d rate a 3 out of 5. My family had ADT, so I went with them but when I relocated back here to Maryland, the prices weren't that great. So, I went with Comcast. There was a devastating house fire in my development and that made me nervous. I heard about some of the upgraded features ADT had with the smoke detectors that are attached in walls and it will call automatically. So, I called and came back to them, hoping for peace of mind.
Unfortunately, my experience with ADT has been frustrating. The enrollment process was inconsistent, with some representatives being helpful while others left me on hold for excessive periods and transferred me needlessly. Promised features and equipment didn't match what I received, and the installer was unprofessional and incompetent, leaving equipment improperly installed and making me uncomfortable with his behavior.
Transferring services when I moved was another ordeal. I sold my home before my next one was built and ready, so there was nowhere for me to transfer the services over to. I was given contradictory instructions about what to do with the equipment from my old home. I was told I gotta get the equipment all over again because I left it. I should have taken it. Nobody told me that. I asked that question a million times, but everybody gave me a different response on what was supposed to happen. I ended up paying for services I couldn't use during my home's construction because of the lack of clear guidance.
The system performance hasn’t met my expectations either. It's poorly installed, with the touchpad awkwardly placed without the stand I was promised, and I had to deal with a keyless lock installation complication that was never resolved.
I caution others against ADT, as I've experienced poor support, misleading sales practices, and inadequate installations. There are likely better options available that would be more satisfying and straightforward.

The ADT home security system was already installed when we bought our house. Over time, we switched systems a few times due to price and service issues but came back to ADT since there aren't other options that seemed better.
Overall, I've been dissatisfied with ADT's service. We've experienced issues with our doors not closing properly, causing the alarm to go off, and we didn't receive any feedback from ADT at all. One time, when I called them about this, the response was indifferent and unhelpful.
There was an instance where a sales representative visited and tried to sell me a security system. He was standing right beside the ADT sign in front and did not realize we already had it. He was a representative for ADT and he told us to call in and complain if we’re not satisfied with them and that they would probably lower our monthly bill.
I've been with ADT for over 12 years but rarely contact them anymore due to previously frustrating experiences. My interactions have not been positive enough to recommend ADT to others.

My interactions with ADT’s sales and installation teams have been positive, with representatives recommending various features. We're very satisfied with the features, and we underwent an upgrade a few years ago to connect our system to the internet. Whenever an alarm goes off, such as our fire or burglary alarm, ADT promptly calls to check on us, which is reassuring.

The installation process with ADT was smooth, and the communication with the salesperson was decent. However, as a first-time user of a security system, I found it challenging to understand and operate the system. I've had false alarms, but I never received any follow-up calls to check if everything was alright. This lack of communication is concerning.
One significant issue I encountered was after upgrading my internet service, which required reprogramming the security system. I was unaware of this need and had to seek assistance to get it working properly. My Google doorbell camera, which is supposed to work with ADT, has been unreliable. It’s a piece of junk and it required my son's help to reset it after the internet upgrade.
ADT did not contact me frequently, and I received some text messages purportedly from them, which I ignored, fearing they could be scams. Given the rural area where I live, I am considering discontinuing the service as I have never had security issues before.
The company has never sent anyone to check my system, unlike other companies that offer annual maintenance. I currently use the app to manage my system, but it's mainly for viewing the porch through the doorbell camera. I never activate the system when I'm away from home.
Overall, I gave ADT a 1-star rating for my experience, though I rated the installation and price at 3 stars. The system is overly complicated and unreliable for my needs.

I called the phone company to switch my service from my apartment to the house I was buying and they mentioned a special promotion that ADT was offering. Around the same time, I was getting married, and my wife-to-be felt more secure with a security system in place. We decided to have ADT installed right after moving into the house.
In terms of functionality and performance, ADT has been excellent. I accidentally pressed the panic button on my key fob once, and ADT called immediately to ensure everything was alright. They asked for my code word to verify my identity before ending the call. We've lived here for over three years without any attempted break-ins. There have been a few false alarms, usually when my wife forgets to disarm the system, but ADT is quick to respond. Once, even the police showed up, which further assures our peace of mind.
My favorite feature is the verbal notification of any door opening that has a sensor. We have sensors on the front door and two basement doors, and the system announces which door opens. This way, we always know if someone is coming or going.
I would definitely recommend ADT to friends. The system provides us with peace of mind, knowing that if anyone tries to get in, the alarm will sound, and ADT will call us. If they can't reach us, the police will come out, which assures us that we'd have immediate assistance if something happened.

ADT Home Security is a larger, well-known company and they would provide more comprehensive coverage, making me feel safer, which was why I went with them. However, my interactions with their customer service have not met my expectations. I once had a malfunction with an override on my system, and when I asked for clarity, I was rather rudely told to handle it myself without an option for assistance due to my immobility.
My biggest concern is that I'm uncertain if my home is truly being monitored. My system has gone off in the past, but I received no follow-up or alert from ADT. I think they should periodically check on existing customers to ensure everything is functioning correctly, and perhaps update our equipment without us having to chase after such services.
If a friend asked about ADT, I would advise them to thoroughly research and read customer reviews—pay attention to the majority opinion as it's usually telling. When we built our home, the security company contracted with the builder went out of business and transferred our contract to ADT. They have been fantastic, and there has been no reason to switch providers. I have been a loyal ADT customer for over 20 years, and I’ve consistently been very satisfied with their service. About 7-8 years ago, they offered a special promotion to upgrade our system, which we took advantage of, and it enhanced our experience even further.
In my interactions with ADT customer service, I have always been pleased. Whenever I need assistance or have questions, the representatives are incredibly helpful. The technicians who come out are professional and efficient, though obtaining pricing information before a visit can be a bit tricky, which I would rate quite low.
In terms of the service, I would rate my overall satisfaction and the customer service both as excellent. The alarm system itself also deserves top marks, though I feel the price is slightly high, hence my rating of a four out of five for that aspect.
As for their online tools and website, I rarely use them. The only occasion I went online was to print a certificate for a discount on our insurance. I prefer speaking directly to someone, as my husband prefers to avoid surprises. Overall, ADT has provided us with reliable security and peace of mind.

I previously used ADT in Mexico and was quite satisfied, so when I moved to the US, I decided to go with ADT again for home security. Unfortunately, my experience with ADT in the US has been disappointing due to poor customer service. The representatives are often unhelpful, frequently directing me to their website to solve issues, which I find more focused on sales than solving user problems. While getting in touch with a representative is not difficult, it takes time and often results in unsatisfactory answers. Consequently, I stopped calling or using the site for some time.
Moreover, the door camera installed by ADT has never worked properly, even after being replaced. I find the hardware lacking in quality and do not believe ADT offers good value for the money I spent. Although I would rate my experience as a 2 out of 5 stars considering my dissatisfaction, I don't actively dissuade others from trying ADT as I don't like to disparage brands. However, I also don't have any favorite features to recommend.

Over the 30 years I’ve been with ADT, the service has generally been very good. The customer service team is usually helpful, although there was one incident where I received incorrect advice over the phone. Nevertheless, the technicians are knowledgeable and they always ensure that everything is clean and tidy after their visit.
I recently upgraded my alarm system, and now I have an app on my phone, which is wonderful. Overall, I think ADT provides a good service. If someone asked about my experience, I'd say it's fine. Pricing seems high, but I'm not sure how it compares to other companies. I would rate ADT's customer service and alarm systema 5, but as for recommending them, I'd say a 4, mainly because I prefer people to make their own decisions.

I have never felt so cheated and scammed in my life! They sell you a fake sense of security when really it’s just crappy equipment that you pay for and then can’t actually use without their crap service. The ADT system's functionality and performance have been satisfactory; it's working as expected.
One of my favorite features is the ability to control the system using mobile devices, which adds a layer of convenience compared to using the wall unit. Overall, I'd rate ADT highly — around 4 out of 5 stars — for its reliability.
I feel quite secure with the system in place and would encourage friends and family to consider ADT, as it's a worthy option despite the high competition in the market. Customer service and coverage both deserve a 5-star rating, while the pricing and online tools are slightly lower at 4.

I had an upgrade to our ADT system. The installer was a young man who did a fantastic job, and I was impressed with his professionalism. We've had motion sensors added and new equipment installed. The ADT sales rep who set me up was quite rude, and I found out she misinformed me about the contract terms. She told me I could cancel anytime after one year, but it turned out to be a three-year contract. This discrepancy has been quite frustrating.
Additionally, the system hasn't been working as expected. The front camera, which was a Ring camera included in the bundle she sold me, stopped functioning, and the ADT screen by my back door has persistent issues staying on – I can't seem to turn it off. Unfortunately, I've been unable to reach the sales rep to address these problems. Despite attempting to contact her after the first year, she was quite rude, which has made me reluctant to reach out again.

I went with ADT because I heard good things, and honestly, if things were different, I wouldn’t be canceling their service. The system mostly worked well for me. The only issue was the door camera, while the other camera was excellent. I appreciated how ADT would call when the alarms went off, which was great customer service.
The main thing that surprised me was the cancellation fee. Although ADT is awesome and I would rate them five stars for their service, that fee was a bit of a shocker when I considered canceling.

My initial experience with ADT was mixed due to recurring issues with the sensor on the door leading from my house to the garage. Despite having it fixed twice, I ended up receiving six citations for false alarms while I was on vacation. Although this situation was frustrating, ADT compensated me by covering half of the expenses and allowing me some months without payment, which eventually brought me back.
I've been back as a customer for about a year now. The recent sales rep assured me of receiving several months free upon signing up, but unfortunately, it didn't come true. Despite this, it's something I can overlook. The installation team mainly updated the system by installing a new monitor and integrating it with existing cameras, which was a minor upgrade.
After resolving the recurring door sensor issues, I am now satisfied with the service. Currently, I rate ADT five stars. Both my daughter and granddaughters, who recently acquired homes, have also opted for ADT, and I feel secure knowing my family is covered.

Currently, I'm planning to upgrade my system, especially after a door repair in the garage. I want to extend the security coverage throughout my house for better safety, even though my area is generally safe. While I'm satisfied with ADT in general, they could improve by offering more affordable options. For pricing, I feel $60 a month for the current setup could be lower, especially considering seniors like me. Our ADT system works really well even though we have our issues every now and again with the sensors needing a battery. What stinks the most now is everything needs to be managed virtually. Previously, a representative could just come to my house for assistance, which was much more convenient. Being disabled, I find it challenging to rely entirely on virtual help, especially when my husband is unavailable due to his business trips. When I needed a recent fix, I had to wait for his return to handle it virtually, which would have been resolved quicker if a technician could visit in person.
Overall, the customer service experience with ADT has been pretty good, although there can be long waits to reach someone. Once connected, the representatives are helpful. If I had to rate various aspects of ADT, I'd give both the service and the system itself a four out of five. The app is quite convenient too.

I have been a customer of ADT Home Security for about 25 years, including my previous residence and my current home for the last 4 to 5 years. I originally stayed with ADT because I was content with their services at my previous house.
I expected ADT to provide a favorable deal when considering an upgrade to a better system, but I found their systems to be quite expensive. Since I am on a fixed income, the high costs make it difficult for me to afford these upgrades, and I don't necessarily feel I need them. Despite this, I continue with their service.
The quality of ADT's service has always been great.

We got ADT in 1986, and over the years, our experience with them has been tremendous. Just a few months ago, we had an upgrade of our whole system because the old equipment was outdated. The transition was smooth, and everything has worked perfectly since then without any problems. Our setup is pretty much the same, except they installed new equipment. We haven't included carbon monoxide detectors from ADT because we already have our own.
Whenever I've interacted with ADT's installation team or customer service, it's always been a positive experience. Their people are very professional. Based on my experiences, I would highly recommend ADT to others. I've already told many people about them. Although I haven't used their website or app since we're not really into that sort of thing, their service via landline suits us well.
Overall, the quality and customer service have been excellent, and I find it to be well worth the price. Even though I don't compare it to others since we haven't used any other service, I would give them a solid recommendation.

I'm not pleased with ADT's services. I have a security system with them and when my contract was up to close out, I was supposed to close it and they would not let me. I initially contacted them because my bill had become too high, and a representative promised to help by lowering my payments. This was arranged over the phone without any signed agreement from me. However, I later discovered that she renewed my contract until 2027, even though I was planning to exit the contract in November 2024. Despite reaching out to ADT and completing the paperwork they sent, when I called them to see what they were gonna do, they wouldn't answer my call.
As for the actual system, it functions adequately, but due to the issues with their contract practices, I would neither recommend ADT to others nor use their services again. If asked to rate their services, I would give a very low rating for both the overall experience and customer service. The app and website also provided a subpar experience. In summary, I advise others against using ADT.

When I first got in touch to initiate my service with ADT, the sales rep was knowledgeable, which made the whole process smooth. Whenever I've had any service issues, the techs who came to my home were always competent and professional.

My experience with the ADT sales reps has been positive; they were awesome. Recently, I had my doorbell alarm replaced. Although there were some technological challenges, the workers handled the situation excellently.
Their customer service ranges depending on who you speak to, but mostly, it's been outstanding, deserving a 5. The overall security system is great, so I'd rate that a 5. As for the price, I think they could improve a bit, so I'd give them a 4.

I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with ADT. I encountered false alarms on two occasions, and when I attempted to have someone come out to address the issue, they were going to charge me. I proposed that, due to the inconvenience, they provide a price break, but they refused. Consequently, I decided to discontinue their services.
During one incident, the alarm went off, prompting an unnecessary police visit while I was at a doctor's appointment with my phone off, leading to a false alarm situation. Contacting actual support was a challenge. When I reached someone, they were unhelpful, and my request to speak with a supervisor didn't lead to any resolution either.
Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with ADT's service.

I feel very secure with the service of ADT. I first got ADT installed for peace of mind after my husband passed away, and I wouldn't sleep well without it.
The overall service has been quite satisfactory and dependable.
In terms of rating, I would give ADT a 5 for both overall satisfaction and customer service. The home security system itself also deserves a rating of 5. However, the price is slightly on the higher side, which I'd rate a 3.

The installation team of ADT did a good job setting things up. The features of the service meet my expectations perfectly. I appreciate being able to see who comes to my door or patio, which helps me decide who to let in.
The system is performing well, despite it going off a couple of times accidentally. ADT corrected those issues while I was away.

I really liked another brand's equipment but I hated their customer service and some of the technical stuff. I got out from under them, but I still needed security. I didn't know what I was doing 'cause I was a single parent at that time. Meanwhile, my mom has window and door sensors from ADT. She hasn't had a lot of problems with them and she said, "Yeah, we could do that." Unfortunately, my mom never got the credit for the referral because, apparently, I didn't do it right and that was annoying. That was the beginning of what I should have known would be an ongoing nightmare.
The sales representative was pleasant but pushy and misleading, particularly about the equipment's compatibility with other systems. I was really clear that I didn't want to buy equipment that can only be used by ADT software. He said, "You don't have to." I found myself locked into a very binding contract with no way out, which has been incredibly frustrating.
The installation process was another disaster. It took almost two years to get everything properly installed, and I ended up with multiple holes inside my house due to poor placement and installation of the equipment. I had to call them back several times to fix these issues, and and two different cameras have been relocated.
If a friend were to ask me about getting ADT, I would strongly advise against it. Overall, my experience has been extremely negative, and I would not recommend ADT to anyone. It is an absolute racket and I hate them.

It's been eight years since ADT was installed, and the system works fine. The same person handled both sales and installation, and he was terrific. If anyone asks me about my experience with ADT, I always recommend them.
Over the years, I've had one issue: initially, someone would come to fix any system problems, but now I have to call for guidance, which can be tricky with complex repairs unless you choose a paid service. Despite this, I still believe the system works well.
Overall, I'd rate my experience a 4 out of 5. Customer service is fantastic, especially over the phone, and I'd give them a 5 out of 5 for that. Although there might be cheaper systems, ADT offers good value for the money, so I'd rate the pricing as a 4. Monitoring the system through their app or other methods is also very efficient, and I'd rate it a 5.

Overall, the ADT system performs well and is user-friendly. I've only had a minor issue with the doorbell, which they haven’t replaced, but everything else functions smoothly. The staff is usually readily accessible when I call.
I feel very secure with ADT. Whenever the alarm goes off, they respond quickly, and I have it arranged that they call me first before contacting the police. The customer service, coverage, and online tools are all excellent.
I appreciate the app's functionality, which allows me to view cameras, playback videos, unlock my door, and check my thermostat. Although I haven't connected my garage door opener due to security concerns, the option is available.
ADT is professional and responsive, though I acknowledge there are less expensive options available now. Nonetheless, I find value in what they offer and would recommend them for their reliability and features.

I've had ADT since 2017, ever since a robbery pushed me to seek security solutions. Initially, I was satisfied with the system. However, my experience took a downturn when it was hacked. An ADT rep told me it couldn't be hacked, yet contradicted himself by sharing an incident involving another customer who was hacked by an employee. I discovered 13 unfamiliar devices connected to my security panel, and I was forced to pay $380 for a replacement panel after the breach, although it was supposedly an upgrade, it seemed just like my old one.
The customer service perspective is mixed. While the rep was polite, I found the information provided misleading. After my panel was hacked, I wanted to disconnect it from my Wi-Fi, but the process to do so was unnecessarily complex and wasn't completed as promised. The situation frustrated me and required a call to customer service to resolve it with guidance.
My major grievance is that I had to bear the cost of a new security panel after a hacking incident, which I believe should not have been my responsibility. Despite the issues, the reason I continue with ADT is the necessity for some form of security in my rural home, especially after losing other forms of protection.

I recently decided to switch to ADT home security from Brinks because they offered me a lower price. However, I quickly realized that the reduced cost came with a decrease in service quality. My previous system with Brinks was wired directly into my home, providing a more secure feeling, while ADT operates on an internet-based system, which to me is a significant downgrade.
The main control panel with ADT functions as expected, but I'm unsure about the reliability of the sensors, as I haven't had any issues or triggers outside of a couple of instances when the back door was opened. My experience with their customer service has been reasonable; they're as accessible as many other companies, and the employees were helpful and professional in their roles. However, I didn't appreciate their sales tactics when I signed up, feeling somewhat misled by the initial offer. Reflecting on my decision, I wish I hadn't switched from Brinks.

Initially, the sign-up process was smooth, but the experience during the transfer to our new home was quite the opposite. The installation with the first house went well; however, moving the service was a disappointment. We intended to have the system control the garage door opener, front door lock, and thermostat through the app. The installer failed to make the garage or front door work with the system, and I had to handle the front door installation myself. The thermostat never even arrived. Given that we didn't receive what we planned for, the high cancellation fee has kept us locked in, leaving us dissatisfied. We've been paying around $60 per month for a service we’re not happy with and are planning to cancel in September. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with my experience with ADT.

My main issue, which remains unresolved, is recurring, and I find it frustrating that they insist on virtual support instead of sending someone to my home. I have been with ADT for about two or three years. My previous alarm company was sold and their service quality plummeted, which led me to try ADT. I was already familiar with their security systems, so it felt like a natural choice.
I've had several interactions with ADT's customer service in the last three or four months, and each time they have been very knowledgeable and helpful. When it came to the installation, there were no major issues. Even though learning a new system can be challenging, it went smoothly since we reused a lot of components from our old system.
If a friend asked about my experience, I'd say ADT performs as advertised. The only downside for me is that my quarterly bill seems to keep increasing.
I'm quite satisfied with the package. We incorporated a lot of our old security and fire protection system into the new setup. However, I wasn't thrilled that ADT's smoke detectors are battery-operated, whereas my previous system had smoke detectors on the monitoring system. Despite this, it's something I can live with.
Overall, I'd rate ADT a 5 because they've been dependable and the technicians are knowledgeable. Pricing-wise, I'd give them a 3 or 4 as their prices are competitive but slightly cheaper than others. I monitor my system using my phone, which works great, so that aspect is also a 5 for me.
In summary, ADT has met my expectations, providing reliable service and helpful customer support, even if there are minor aspects I don't prefer.

I've been with ADT Home Security for a long time, I think I first heard about ADT from a TV advertisement about 20 or 30 years ago. I believe the initial setup process with the sales representative was good, though it was quite a while back. Over the years, I've had several interactions with their technicians when addressing issues, and overall, I'd say the interactions were just okay, nothing remarkable but not terrible either.
Unfortunately, there are aspects of the service that haven't met my expectations. I've had persistent problems with one of the cameras, especially the image quality at night—it gets quite blurry and unusable. Another issue is with the ADT camera's recording system. The camera saves videos, but not in a way that's helpful. When it rains, it records too many clips of rain, which fills up storage and leaves no room for capturing potential important events for months. The cost is a challenge; it's increased over the years, making it hard to justify given the current level of service and equipment reliability. Overall, the decline in the camera quality and rising costs have made it a less-than-fantastic experience compared to when I first got ADT. It feels like things are going downhill.

I've grown up with ADT as it was the only security system I knew, largely due to my parents using it. Unfortunately, my experience with their cameras has been frustrating. The video quality is subpar, making it hard to get a clear image, which is crucial for me as I need to monitor my kids at home. I've consistently faced issues getting timely assistance from customer service, which significantly impacts my rating of ADT.

More recently, when trying to get my cameras back online after a Wi-Fi upgrade, the tech support was unhelpful. A tech agent refused to stay on call while I resolved the issue, and another promised to call me back but never did. I recently moved into a home where the previous owner had installed ADT. The transition to putting the service in my name has been quite frustrating and remains unresolved. My past experiences with smaller security companies were much smoother, as I could directly contact someone and get issues resolved quickly. With ADT, contacting customer service is a hassle. I often end up speaking with people who handle different parts of the service, and the lack of direct communication is exhausting. This issue was exacerbated by a problem with my keypad, which is positioned near the back door. Every time I close the door with force, the alarm goes off, causing unnecessary police visits. It's inconvenient and stressful, particularly since no one on the customer service team seems able to provide a lasting solution.
Despite calls to ADT, where the representatives were polite, I've received parts that didn't solve the problem, or suggestions that failed to help. A technician hasn't come out since the initial installation, which happened a few months after I moved in. I'm reluctant to call them back due to fear of extra charges and the exhausting process of reaching the right person. Had I been able to use the company I rely on for my other properties, it wouldn't have been this complicated. Unfortunately, since my house is pre-wired with ADT, switching services isn't feasible. Overall, I'm stuck with a setup that's been problematic, and my experience with ADT has been far from satisfactory.

I recently decided to purchase a security system from ADT after seeing their advertisements on television. My initial experience with the sales representative was generally positive. A franchise rep down in North Carolina had a special deal going on for veterans. My interaction with the sales rep was professional and personable, which convinced me to make the purchase. When it came to the installation of the system, the experience was seamless. Coming from a security background myself, we worked together to design a suitable system for my home. I installed my cameras, and the installer guided me on interfacing them with ADT. Overall, I'm very satisfied with ADT, particularly with the deal I received, which had no initial startup costs. The monthly monitoring is satisfactory, and ADT exceeded my expectations. My only concern is about the response time; being ex-law enforcement, I find the 2 to 3 minutes a bit long, as in a home break-in situation, much can happen in that time.

After multiple service calls that failed to fix the problem, one technician finally informed me that I needed a new system. The initial offer seemed appealing, as they promised a discounted price for a wireless system because I was a long-term customer. However, the final cost was unexpectedly much higher—almost $2000—compared to the originally quoted amount. Feeling misled, I considered switching companies.
What also frustrated me was the difficulty in getting reliable service. It often involved misguided attempts to fix issues over the phone, leading to months without a functional security system. Our Realtor was the one that told us about ADT. The interaction with the sales representative when setting up the service was good. The installation was smooth; the technician was fast, knowledgeable, and arrived on time. The package we have seems to meet our expectations. I have been familiar with ADT for over 30 years, having seen their commercials and through personal experiences. Usually, it is effortless to contact their representatives; I simply call, and they are available. In emergencies, there's a specific number I can dial.
The system works pretty well overall. My favorite feature of the ADT system is the voice recording, which announces when a door is opened, such as "front door open" or "garage doors open," which I find really helpful. My only issue is with replacing the batteries.
I would definitely recommend ADT to friends and family, especially for securing a home with elderly residents or if someone is often left alone. They provide a reliable sense of security. Overall, I rate ADT 5 out of 5.

I've been with ADT Home Security for about 30 years, and throughout all these years, I've never had any issues with their system—it meets my needs just fine. I actually haven't needed to contact their customer service even once, as I haven't faced any problems that required their assistance. If a friend or family member were to ask me about ADT, I'd simply tell them that I've never had any problems.

The previous owner of my home had ADT, and I decided to continue with it because it seemed easy to use the same system. My interactions with ADT representatives have been positive; they've been nice and helpful, and it hasn't been difficult to contact an actual person when needed. However, I'm somewhat disappointed with the functionality of the system. I often encounter error messages when trying to access the cameras, and the window break sensors frequently malfunction. The console also has issues, which makes the overall functionality unsatisfactory. Although ADT does send technicians to address these issues, I've not been able to follow up as much as needed due to time constraints. On the brighter side, I appreciate the convenience of accessing the system via my phone, allowing me to remotely turn the alarm on and off. They are a reputable company; I just wish the system's functionality was smoother.

I find ADT's monitoring service to be user-friendly, which I appreciate. However, there are a few issues I've encountered, particularly with the outdoor cameras. Unfortunately, they tend to break down every two to three months, which means I have to call for repairs frequently. Initially, they would come out to fix the issues, but recently, I scheduled a call and no one showed up, which led me to cancel them.
I have been using ADT for quite some time now, and on the positive side, getting in touch with a representative isn't too difficult. Regarding the security provided, I generally feel secure, although I do take additional personal precautions.
Overall, I would rate ADT around a 3 out of 5. Customer service and pricing also receive a 3. The online tools are quite good, and the coverage, in general, is satisfactory but not exceptional.

I looked up ADT online when seeking a reliable security system for my two homes, one of which is a rental. Safety was a top priority, especially since I'm raising my grandkids. From the initial call, the sales representative was very knowledgeable, which assured me I was making the right choice.
The installation process was awesome—quick and professional, leaving me very pleased with the service. The ADT package effectively meets all my expectations for security.

The company that I was working with was using ADT, and once I purchased my home, ADT was my choice. They handled all monitoring and licensing requirements, eliminating the need for me to obtain a burglar license from my town. They manage all monitoring when alarms go off, which was a significant factor in my decision.
I have been a long-time user of ADT, and my experience with their technicians was brief but efficient; they were prompt during the installation and completed it quickly without much communication needed. However, my main issue is with the doorbell camera, which sometimes stops functioning in freezing temperatures despite being hardwired, and the smoke alarms are overly sensitive to dust, necessitating a bypass when working in certain areas like the basement.
Security-wise, I feel pretty secure with ADT. Their system allows for monitoring through my phone, which is convenient. The doorbell camera issue does pose a minor inconvenience, especially during cold weather when it may need to be brought inside.
In terms of customer service, I rate them a 5; they've always been responsive and helped me quickly resolve issues like bypassing the fire alarm when necessary. Coverage-wise, the sensors (especially the glass break and motion sensors) are highly sensitive, which I find to be both a positive for security and somewhat of a challenge due to frequent alerts. However, the system efficiently alerts me without triggering the alarm when it's disarmed.
Pricing is where I find ADT to be on the expensive side. The equipment rental and purchase prices seem high. The online tools are quite handy for monitoring and controlling the system remotely, receiving a rating of 4, despite occasional maintenance mode interruptions.
Overall, while the pricing is steep, the reliability and responsive customer service provided by ADT make it a solid choice for home security.

We spoke with a neighbor who had a good experience with ADT's system so we got ADT. The sales representative was very helpful, answering all our questions and clearly explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different systems, as well as the placement of sensors. The installation process went smoothly. The team was professional, taking care to clean up after themselves, especially where they had to drill a couple of holes for the smoke alarm. However, we did not receive a manual during the installation, which made it tricky to identify which sensor controlled what. The service package we received from ADT met our expectations, and we've had no issues so far that required contacting their customer service. We occasionally receive emails to confirm payment receipt and it has been smooth sailing with great service.

I have had a long history with ADT, having used their services on my farm for many years. While the equipment works fine when it functions properly, my experience has been less than satisfactory. Living in a rural area of Kansas, it has been challenging to get service due to the nearest technician being about an hour and a half away in Wichita. The service was not as seamless as I expected, especially concerning equipment guarantees. When a carbon monoxide sensor needed replacement, I learned that it would not be covered and would cost an additional $150.
Additionally, I faced issues with billing after reducing some of my services, only to find promises of reduced fees unfulfilled. After multiple attempts to resolve the billing, I ended up being prepaid for more extended services than intended. Due to these challenges, I plan to cancel my service once the current contract term concludes. I've discovered alternatives that allow self-installation without the associated complications.
Ultimately, while the equipment operation itself could be rated higher, my overall dissatisfaction with their service and processes leads me to look elsewhere for home security solutions.

ADT offered a promotional deal which seemed appealing. The features of the system generally meet my expectations, but I did encounter a significant issue with the video storage. At one point, it stopped recording, and I had to manually delete some videos to fix it. This was quite inconvenient.
Overall, I'd rate my experience with ADT a 3 out of 5. The product itself I'd also rate a 3, and the pricing is fair. I have used their online tools and app; apart from the storage issue, everything else works well.
In summary, my experience has been fine with no major complaints except for the storage issue which was quite a hassle.

In the several years that I've been using ADT, overall, I would rate their service as satisfactory. While the technical representatives who visit are excellent, the phone support can be a challenge when trying to reach those tech reps. Over time, my experience with ADT has been mostly positive, although the pricing feels average, and I would rate it a three out of five. The monitoring system, including its use on the computer and phone, is relatively good, earning it a four out of five. I'm satisfied with the service they provide.

I have been using ADT Home Security for about six years since I moved into my house. I initially heard about ADT through a flyer and decided to go with them. In my experience, their customer service and installation teams have been satisfactory. When the installation team came, they showed me how to use the system, which met my expectations.
When it comes to their pricing, I would rate it a 3 out of 5. However, their customer service and the service quality have been positive overall.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I purchased a package from ADT that promised full coverage and worked fine for a few years. When the technician came to install the system, he recommended adding a keypad door lock for better access and the ability to control it from my phone. I agreed, even though it was pricey, because I wanted better security.
The issue started when the keypad began sticking, making it hard to unlock the door. I called ADT for help, and they sent a technician. After looking at the lock, he said it wasn’t covered under ADT and left without fixing it — but ADT still charged me $59 for the service call. When I called to dispute the charge, no one could give me an answer about why they sold me an item not covered under their system. I asked for a manager and was told they were all in a meeting. Now I’m stuck with a broken lock, a contract for another year, and a bill for a service call that solved nothing. Save your money. Go to another company or stick to their basic package — they’ll just give you the runaround otherwise.

I thought ADT would provide good service, but unfortunately, the features of the service have not delivered what I anticipated. I had a previous security system that was satisfactory, but it became outdated. This newer system doesn't notify me when the alarm is set off, so mostly it just stays turned off. I feel like I'm paying for a service that gives me nothing in return. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with ADT and would rate them a zero if I could. To summarize my experience in just a few words: it stinks.

I've had ADT less than a year, and I had it before as well. The installer was a really nice guy. I got an alarm system ‘cause I have my kids in the house sometimes. So, it's easy for me to control if they're in or out. The system meets my expectations. However, three months after I got the service, I called ADT to let them know that they were overcharging me, but I didn't get a response back.

ADT was in my house when I bought it 25 years ago and I've always had it since then. The features of ADT meet my expectations very well. I've always been satisfied with their customer service, which I would rate highly. When I had to upgrade my system, it went fine. However, the price has increased a few times, and they charge for some things I'm unsure about, but I understand it may be in keeping with the times. I would rate the overall coverage as excellent.

When ADT came out to do the installation, the process went smoothly, and the technicians were very nice. Whenever I've had to call and talk to someone at ADT, their customer service has been satisfactory. I don't have any complaints in particular.
In terms of pricing, I find it acceptable, though I haven't compared it with other services. I've been using ADT Home Security for several years now, and overall, I'm satisfied with the service and would rate it highly.

My experience with ADT has been up and down. I initially chose them because they offered a better bargain and seemed to provide a superior security system at the time. My interactions with the sales representatives were positive, as they were confident in their equipment's effectiveness. The installation was straightforward, with the team setting everything up in about an hour or two.
I've been using ADT Home Security for about 25 years across different residences. While their features generally meet my expectations, there are occasional issues with the cameras not picking up activity for several hours, then they'd get back right. The system's performance can be sporadic—sometimes it works beautifully, but at other times, it completely fails. When I reach out to ADT's customer service for assistance, the process can be frustrating. They're very helpful and they think they know what they're doing, but their troubleshooting instructions are often complex, involving pressing multiple buttons. It might work for a little while, but it can all be quite unintelligible. Usually, my wife does it. I don't have the patience for it. I got on one time and the rep sent me to the technical person. I got a lady who went through it all with me and gave me all this bit about the difference between the landline coming in with our internet and the signal from the tower. She said, “I think it'll work.” It worked for a couple of hours, then it didn't work. It didn't get back on. So, it's been hit-and-miss and it's been very frustrating at times.
We've had technicians from both ADT and our internet provider come out to check the system, typically resulting in a back-and-forth between blaming the system and the internet connection. Occasionally, after these service calls, the system functions correctly for a brief period but eventually tends to fail again.
I've been an ADT Home Security customer for several years and I'm not totally satisfied, but for the last two weeks. The system has been stable and working well, which is a relief. Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT as a 3 out of 5, mainly due to this inconsistency and the occasional frustration with customer service.
