    I recently had a service call to replace 8 weak batteries. I was charged $221.54. Charge for walking through the door $59.00. Charge for initial 30 minutes $135.30. Batteries $12.75. Tax $14.49. The tech did not bring all the batteries required for my equipment. Now I will have to schedule another service call, so it will cost $59.00 plus $135.00 plus batteries and tax. I called to complain about charges and technician not bringing all batteries needed for the service call. The customer service agent said that is the charge for a service call, and technicians are not able to bring all batteries required. He refused to decrease the charge.

They've consistently provided progressive updates, and I recently upgraded my equipment for integration with Google Nest, which allows convenient access and control through a tablet interface. I appreciate being able to view who’s at the door and communicate without needing to open it, alongside having fire alarms connected to the system.

    Every interaction with ADT exemplifies great customer service—they're accessible both via phone and chat, the latter of which offers recorded documentation I can review later. Recently, I called upon them to adjust a motion detector setting in the basement that wasn't behaving as I'd anticipated. The technical team handled it swiftly, restoring the setup to my liking.

    Coverage is top-tier, with reliable hardware ensuring doors and windows are secure. The newer Google Nest cameras provide much clearer visuals and faster load times, which enhances safety, especially at nighttime. It's a relief knowing that I can assess any disturbances from inside my home.

    ADT is well-known and they seem to have been around for quite a while. I talked to a gentleman but I was still under contract with another company so I had to wait until we were through with that. But once that contract ended, I decided to give ADT a try. The installation process involved them coming to my home to set up the system and placing signage around the property as a deterrent. Overall, the installation experience was quite smooth.

    While I haven't been with ADT for long, their service has been promising so far. I particularly appreciate the presence of warning signs, although we haven't had to rely on the system too much yet - I've accidentally tripped it a couple of times, but managed to turn it off quickly to avoid alarm calls.

    Regarding the range of services offered, it's clear they have advanced options like cameras and sensors. However, I opted for the basic package as it's what suits my needs and budget. What caught me off guard, though, was the payment structure. I was under the impression that the quote given included all fees. However, there is an additional monthly equipment fee, which was not initially clear to me. So, instead of paying the previously expected $43, the total ends up being closer to $63 each month, which was disappointing.

    If a friend were to ask about my experience, I would say I'm satisfied overall, rating my experience a 4 out of 5 due to the unexpected cost issues. The installation and operations have been excellent, and while I'm not thrilled about the extra charges, I've decided to continue with their services.

When it came time for installation, they came out when they said they would and some of my existing equipment could be reused, although the tech had to go up in the attic and under the basement to run some wires. He was professional and did a neat job. I opted for a minimal package that monitors all doors and windows and I'm satisfied with this setup and would definitely recommend it. Though I'm not keen on using the mobile app, the pricing and service have been competitive, and I'm pleased with what I'm getting relative to other providers.

    I've been with ADT for about a year now, and during this time, there was an interesting incident with my system. An outside camera stopped working, but since I rely on my Ring doorbell, it wasn't a big issue. One day, I couldn't set my alarm as it wouldn't connect online, and a technician suggested replacing my equipment. Surprisingly, three days later, everything started working again, and when the new equipment arrived, I declined because the old setup was back to functioning perfectly.

    In terms of the system's quality, it's good for my needs. I primarily use it to alert me if someone tries entering my home while I'm asleep. Concerning the cost, it's comparable to what I paid before the switch, roughly $55 a month. Interestingly, my daughter installed a full Ring system herself for less monthly and it seems to deliver similar capabilities. However, I'm content to keep things as is until something needs fixing and ADT is unable to help.

    Overall, I would recommend ADT, especially since my experience has been reasonably positive, albeit with a few quirks.

    The salesperson I initially interacted with was very helpful and attentive, though I have since heard she no longer works with ADT.

    The installation process had its bumps. The first technician seemed uninterested in hardwiring everything and simply connected the system remotely. It wasn't until a second visit that everything was hardwired properly. This initial complication made the process feel more cumbersome than it needed to be, but once resolved, I was pleased with the setup.

    ADT's integration with Google wasn't as straightforward as I'd hoped. I found myself confused with some of the system changes. They've altered their processes, presumably for efficiency, but it felt like unnecessary complexity when all I wanted was a functional camera system.

    Financially, I can’t truly comment on whether I'm getting the best deal. I made a decision to pay annually in advance, a term I accepted a year ago and just renewed for another year. Supposedly, this brings some benefits and discounts, but the actual workings remain a bit unclear to me. The idea of receiving numerous 'deals and discounts' sounds good in theory, but I haven't yet seen these in action.

    Ultimately, despite some initial confusion and hiccups during the setup and learning process, I'm content with my ADT system. I've seen the advantages in having everything securely running, and I'd certainly recommend their service to others. For me, the reassurance and functionality ADT provides outweigh the earlier hassles.

    I wanted some sort of service that would alert to the police if someone were to try to break in because of a situation that occurred in my home. At that time, ADT was one of the only services that offered such service and everything else just had camera activity. But cameras are pointless if you can't be alerted. So, I purchased from ADT and the system is doing fine. But I plan to look into other services or see what else ADT has, because I want more camera features. Currently, I have two different doors and I want to be able to add more than one option for a doorbell camera. I have a front doorbell, but it only came with one back camera, and it doesn't have a recording functionality.

    So I was hoping for something to be able to capture multiple angles, multiple cameras, and an additional doorbell. I also want to be able to catch what's on the cameras because capturing live motion only doesn't really help if something may have occurred to be able to know what was going on. Aside from that, I also want a inside camera, if that's ever an option. Other than that, ADT's service is good and I haven't had any issues. What I'm paying monthly is affordable and I know that the system works because thee had been times where my daughter forgot to turn it off and I got the phone call about it. They're pretty quick, so I appreciate that.

    4-14-2025. I have written one review before & this is my second one. I've been a customer since 2021. As others have stated, it appear the company's bottom line is money & they don't care that they were hacked (never let me know, I discovered it myself when I went online). I discovered the cameras they put in my house are all hackable, the entire system is hackable & in 2021 I told the company I have a hacker living next door & lots of hackers in the Boro, so they knew yet they put a hackable system in my house, when they should have installed the closed circuit tv instead. The salesman sold me the wrong system & they want to pay for his mistake. I continue to be BURGLARIZED AND I HAVE ADT. I discuss all the time w/ all their employees but they have never resolved my complaint because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

    Also my modem went offline & they want me to pay them another installation fee just to reset them back online when I had already had them over because I had to get a new camera in the front so they were at my house that day & could have reset the others as well but Jamie in the Pittsburgh PA office told them I would have to pay more money to just put my 3 other cameras back online. I tried to get ADT to work with me to fix this but they refuse. I will not be paying for their employee's mistake. The question is why would their manager choose cameras that were hackable to be installed when I told him & everyone else there that I live next door to a hacker? It is strange unless he is part of the burglary ring & knows that if he would put the Closed Circuit TV in his gang wouldn't be able to steal from my house anymore.

    They did have one employee who had gained entry online of a woman's interior, they did catch him. I will have to sue ADT because I have wasted lots of my precious time going back & forth with this issue & they refuse to do the right thing. Had they done the right thing & did as I suggested we would never have had all the issues I had to go through. THEY ARE VERY POOR W/ COORDINATING WITH EACH DEPT & SUPERVISORS/MANAGERS TELL YOU ONE thign then someone tells you something else. The Pittsburgh Office doesn't abide by what the Upper Management office tells them, they just ignore them.

    I extended my service after moving to a new home in 08/26/2022 with a contract, they never disclosure about price increases during the contract, but during this 2 1/2 years almost 3 times. We called today asking about the increase and they answered it is what it is, and do wherever you want. But is not like this went they come to your house to offer you a service and just take your money. But researching I found this: the contract often includes a provision allowing you to object to the increase in writing within a specific timeframe (usually 30 days) and to terminate the contract without penalty if ADT doesn't waive the increase. They never informed us about the price increases during not even calling us or underwriting. This is very dishonest from adt. I advise people not to take any services or purchase any products with adt.

    Dishonest sales person sold us a system that wasn't even allowed in our state, after we made crystal clear we needed monitored fire and burglary per our insurance policy. We called to get some basic info, because we didn't know how many smoke alarms we'd need in this new build; but then the sales rep said we could buy the hub and some sensors and call back and add the smoke alarms later. When we called to add them, we were told that we couldn't add smoke detectors under any circumstances; it took many calls to finally get someone to share the reason about some policy specific to our state. Either the sales rep knew and was dishonest, or there is zero training and no systems to alert sales reps what can actually be sold to a customer.

    Lots of calls to try to get the system completed and more dishonesty, hang ups and lack of any kind of training from the reps we dealt with. We've now wasted a lot of money and need to start from scratch with a local company. Dealing with them has been very frustrating, and they really don't care about their customers' experience in any way, shape or form. Clearly, this is a shady company with terrible service, so AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

    I purchased a business and "inherited" ADT home security. I couldn't be more disappointed. I've dealt with ADT for about 9 months now and have had multiple alarm sensors fail and new sensors mailed to me which also fail within a couple of months. ADT needs to rely less on their outsourced call center for customer service and more on their actual in-person customer service. Beware as well of the contract length. I called today to cancel service and they stated that my contract isn't up for another 2 years and I'd have to pay the remaining contract balance. This is just completely frustrating. What's worse is this security system is for a dog kennel and the alarm constantly goes off because of the bad sensors.     I’ve been a loyal ADT customer for over 9 years. In January 2021, I contacted them to cancel my services due to relocation. Despite clear communication and assurance that my account was closed, I discovered in March 2025 that it remained active. ADT continued billing me for services I did not use or authorize. I have both business and residential accounts with ADT, which made it difficult to notice the unauthorized charges among the legitimate ones. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, including a recent call where ADT promised resolution within 24-48 hours, no action has been taken. This negligent behavior is unacceptable.     I installed ADT in 2019. I was happy with their service. In 2023 I sold my home. I called and disconnected the service and asked what else needed to be done with the equipment. ADT nothing else was required. The next month the payment was taken out of my bank. I called and said it had been canceled. They said they'd take care of it. This went on for several months. Then I got a bill demanding a huge disconnect fee. ADT is horrible dishonest. They lie, cheat and steal. They turned my account over to collections. I was forced to pay it. Do not use this company unless you want a world of hurt.

    Do NOT trust ADT. This company is a complete scam. I called them TWO TIMES, three months ahead of my cancellation date, to cancel my service. Both times, I was told it was fine to keep the service because I had two extra months—absolutely no mention of any further issues. Fast forward to today, and when I try to cancel, they hit me with a 30-day notice requirement and say they need to charge me an extra 30 DAYS!

    This is straight-up theft. I’ve been completely misled by their incompetent staff, and now they’re trying to take even more money from me for a service I’ve already tried to cancel multiple times.     We got ADT for my mom when we needed to get some services for her back in 2019. Since then, I have some experience with their functionalities. Initially, we had ADT to lower our home insurance. Despite discontinuing the service at one point, we kept receiving notifications when doors opened. In 2019, we upgraded to new equipment, which is operational at my home, though I don't arm it regularly.

    I've had a few interactions with their customer service. There was one embarrassing situation where I accidentally triggered a fire department response due to some confusion during an installation. Fortunately, they were able to talk me through it, but a fire truck arrived despite reassurances that they had cancelled it. In another instance, after my husband's passing, I struggled to remember my security code, but after a mix-up, they helped me reset it to something meaningful to me.

    Replacing batteries in the system was straightforward, thanks to my brother-in-law and ADT's guidance over the phone to acquire and install the new battery. I did find it curious they needed to send such small batteries by mail when they appeared easily available in stores.

    So far, I've only had to replace the battery once since installation. When it comes to feeling safe, I believe the system provides a good level of security, especially post my husband's passing. Although the pricing seems to have increased unexpectedly due to a separate billing for the ring and ADT service, it's still a service I would recommend.

    As seniors, we face difficulties when the smoke alarm batteries go out of order, which has been happening quite frequently. The battery is located on the ceiling, making it challenging for us to change it ourselves. We've had to hire someone to handle it, which adds unnecessary costs. Also, the main system battery often shows issues, and despite having someone check it, the problems persist. It feels quite expensive for the service we receive.

    Additionally, the main door lock consistently shows a critical battery warning, which is another irritation. The constant charges just to get these things checked or fixed should really be included in the monthly service fee we already pay.

    I'm starting to look into alternatives that I can manage myself to avoid these extra charges. I'm not very happy and I'm certainly considering canceling this service. When I had a technician install the system, they placed the alarms too high, resulting in inaccessible and consistently chirping alarms, causing even more frustration.

    Overall, I would rate my experience with ADT a 2 out of 5 stars.

    I stayed for 16 years at my previous house and ADT’s service was reasonably priced. After moving to my new house, where I’ve built a new home, I found myself paying nearly three times more than before. While their system works fine with no major issues, I'm quite disappointed with their pricing. When I contacted ADT to discuss the increase, hoping they would value my loyalty, they were unwilling to make any adjustments. Their response was simply that I had signed a contract.     ADT was all over TV, the Internet and friends' houses. While I don't recall the details of my initial interaction with the sales representative, I can say that it was smooth enough for me to sign up and I’ve been a customer for over seven years.

    However, my experience with customer service hasn't been positive. Whenever I've called with issues regarding my account or alarm system, the interactions have been frustrating. They rarely solve my problems, and the technicians they've sent out only seem to handle basic tasks like changing batteries. Despite being a long-term customer, I've rarely heard from them about upgrading or enhancing my plan, which is disappointing.

    I bought a house, and the insurance people said I had to get ADT. But I found out I didn't have to go through them. I could've gotten another system. Because ADT is the one that the insurance people use, that's who they told me to get. I've been using ADT's services since January or February, and initially, everything worked fine. But I've run into issues with the door camera battery. It prompted me to recharge it frequently, and after recharging, it stopped functioning altogether. My attempts to resolve this with ADT have been challenging. I reached out to them about my door camera while it was still under warranty. They redirected me to the warranty provider, who advised me to wait until ADT handled it directly since the warranty was about to expire. When I called ADT back, they asked me to troubleshoot the camera, but I was at work and couldn’t do it at the time. They scheduled a follow-up call, but I missed it.

    I later rescheduled through the link ADT sent, but no one showed up or contacted me. When I followed up, they told me to charge the camera and reset it, but it still isn’t working. Now, I’m stuck with no resolution, and no one has called me back. When I call, the representatives are usually busy. But they let me know the estimated wait time and within a few minutes, someone picks up. The problem is, they can’t help me because the system still isn’t fixed. The steps they ask me to take don’t work. I got frustrated and haven’t called them back since last weekend. The system's primary security features are functioning, just not the door camera, which is essential for me to see who's at my door.

    Despite following their reset instructions and keeping the battery charged, the camera remains offline. They once suggested there was an outage, which perhaps contributed to the issue. When I reach out for support, while they're fairly prompt in response, the solutions haven't been effective.

    Regarding the security system itself, it works as intended when activated. However, I don't keep it on during the day when my mom is home, as she isn't comfortable operating it. The camera's doorbell feature was another disappointment. It was supposed to alert me when someone rang the doorbell, but I've been told I need additional components for that function, which wasn't clear initially.

    I’d rate ADT a 3 out of 5. The core security works, but the door camera issues are frustrating. My advice for anyone considering ADT is to thoroughly research and understand the requirements and any additional components necessary before committing.

    I started using ADT and encountered a couple of issues from the start. Initially, there was a problem with the installation of a door lock. I wanted a lock from ADT, but my older door, which has a window, made the fit difficult. The initial technician installed the lock even though it wasn't aligned properly. After using it a few times, it fell off. Another representative later confirmed that the lock should not have been installed. I had to return the lock, which took several calls to get the credit to my account. In the end, I had to hire a locksmith to fix the problem, which cost me nearly $200.

    Another issue I faced was with the Google Nest doorbells, which don't ring inside the house. They only send a notification to the phone, and by then, the person at the door has often left.     When we first bought our house, a salesperson basically pressed us into signing up without giving all the necessary information. I didn't realize we only had three days to decide if we wanted the service or not, and by the time we figured it out, we were stuck in a contract. To make matters worse, it turned out that the salesperson wasn't even directly with ADT but part of a third party, Safe Streets.

    In terms of the system itself, it's just okay, not great. We've had at least one service call, and the connection isn't always reliable. Originally, the installer didn't even provide us with an actual ADT camera; it was a different brand. It wasn't until a service call that we received the correct equipment from an authentic ADT representative, which seemed a bit sketchy at first.

    Whenever I need help, I usually opt for the chat feature, and fortunately, we haven't run into issues recently, with the last one being last year regarding the camera. Overall, I would rate ADT very low and wouldn't recommend it to friends or family. There's no standout feature I enjoy enough to mention.     ADT is a crook. All I did was order a lock which they told me was supposed to be $240. They fraudulently charged my credit card for over $500, and that was supposed to be $240. The next thing I knew, they constantly changed the cost of the lock. So, I told them I no longer want their services. They fraudulently put me in some contracts saying that I signed those, but no contract was presented to me. I called them. It reached all the way up to their executive office, but they still are not trying to get rid of the charges. They send me supposedly some contracts that have my name incorrectly written as my signature. My name is spelled incorrectly in many different ways.

    Someone came to the house the first time. According to them, they have three separate contracts for me, but none of which makes sense because the first one was not my signature. The initial is not my initial either. I don't know who did it. I've been requesting for them to send me the contract that they promised that they would send me, but no one has.

    They messed up on everything because when I got into the service with them, they charged me over 2,000 for the equipment, which was paid. The CEO himself was shocked because he said he was looking at the contract. The contract showed it's a free service because it shows that I didn't pay for anything for the equipment. How did they charge me over $2,000, which was paid, and they still, in turn, give me back a rebate of $50. The first contract show that I paid nothing for it. I couldn’t get something from nothing.

    One of the other two contracts that they said was created was up and it was now renewed, and they claim that I signed that signature via DocuSign, which I know nothing about. I checked my email. I cannot find anything from ADT that says I signed it. They never sent me anything. They couldn't produce me anything except for showing me some signatures. One of them indicates that I was already in a contract, paying $19.99 a month. And the contract was supposed to end in 2026. But now they put me in another contract, and they claim that I signed for it and it will end in 2027 where I'm going to pay $74 and change on a monthly basis, all because I changed the lock.

    Why would I leave out of a contract that's gonna end in 2026, jump into another one that is going to add another year on it, and pay more than what I originally pay? I paid only 19.99 plus tax. It's 21 something and change, and some cents. Why would I jump out of that to get into a $74-a-month contract where I still have the basis?

    They now added on to the system what I already have in the house, which is a Ring doorbell lock, to say that it is them servicing the Ring doorbell. I have the thermostat. The guy that came to install the lock saw that type of thermostat and added on to that contract, and they're charging for it as if they're the ones who installed it and monitoring it. I'm in some contract that I'm unaware of, and this contract has something that I'm already paying Ring for, and I've been paying Ring forever since I've moved here for that service.

    I decided, “I'm not paying you guys nothing for none of this ‘cause I never agreed to it.” They agreed that they will get rid of it and take me out of it from since the first time, which was May of last year. That was when they charged me $500 and something dollars. The next thing I knew, the bill went up to 660 something dollars, and they wanted me to pay that despite the fact that they agreed that they would close it out and I wouldn't have to pay anything. They claimed they closed it out, and sent me a bill saying that because I decided to terminate the contract early, I will have to pay the early termination fee, which is gonna be over $2,000. I'm gonna try to figure out a way how to take it into court because I'm not going to pay it.

    Ever since the ADT system was installed, we've faced numerous issues. The cameras rarely function, and the monitor often displays nothing at all, failing to give any useful information. Even the basic feature of the door sensor, which chimes when a door opens or closes, only works intermittently. Customer service has also been a significant pain point. Whenever we call to report an issue, it's a struggle. Often, we're put on hold for too long, or we're transferred to representatives in distant countries, making communication difficult. They tend to make excuses and shift the blame onto us, which is frustrating because all we do is pay the bill for a service that doesn’t work as promised.

    We feel stuck with a contract, which we’ve learned the hard way not to sign anymore. If a service doesn’t meet our expectations, we expect the company to resolve the issues or let us cancel without hassle. But with ADT, even canceling the service seems daunting, as we are bombarded with calls asking us why we’re leaving and offering solutions that should've been addressed earlier. I've learned my lesson and wouldn't recommend ADT to anyone, not even to a neighbor. Our experiences have been so frustrating that we're ready to have their equipment removed.

    An ADT promotion caught my attention and I signed up because I wanted an extra layer of protection. The main functionality that I've experienced with ADT is setting and turning off the alarm without issues, except during a power outage that lasted a few days. It was then that the backup battery died, and I had to contact ADT to resolve the issue, which was straightforward. One of my favorite features of ADT is knowing that if someone opens the door, the alarm will go off, providing me with peace of mind. Their customer service reps have been helpful, whether it was during installation or when addressing issues during the power outage. However, I did experience a somewhat confusing situation when someone knocked on my door trying to sell me the service I already had, apparently due to a merger between different groups.

    While I appreciate the security ADT provides, the initial installation experience felt a bit overwhelming as the representative tried to upsell me on additional features I didn't need. Living in a second-floor condo, I only wanted the basics, like an alarm for door entry, rather than a plethora of sensors. Despite these issues, I find the service adequate for my needs and have no immediate plans to switch. There was an incident where the alarm inadvertently went off, and ADT promptly contacted me and my daughter, which I appreciated. However, contacting them during this occasion wasn't easy as I was only minutes away from home and decided to handle it myself. In terms of pricing, I've been paying a consistent $39 a month, which I appreciate as there hasn't been an increase over the years. As for the online tools, I find them less useful but they don't offer much value to me.

    I've had ADT since 2021, and I'm not very pleased with their service. I'm not happy about being stuck in a contract with them.     After moving to a new area, I learned I needed a permit for the ADT system, which required the verification of two people living within 30 miles.     I've been using ADT Security for about two years, since January 2023. Being an insider as an electronics engineer, I was already familiar with their products and knew other people that use components from the shop that they get parts from. This influenced my decision to choose ADT over other security providers.

    My experience with ADT has been generally positive. The sales representative was satisfactory, and while there were a few installation issues initially, it has mostly worked out well. The features of the system perform as expected, although I did encounter a minor issue with one of the door sensors. Part of it screws above the door in the frame and the other part is taped to the door itself with an adhesive. It's like a magnet that activates the switch to let people know when the door is open and when it's closed. The component above my front door needs repair, so I temporarily fixed it with clear tape, but I need to pay attention to it. Occasionally, these things will come loose and then I have to go back and re-glue them. A more robust mounting solution could be beneficial.

    I have had ADT at my past 3 homes a total of about 9 years. In my current home, I am renting it out and where I’m moving it already has a monitoring system. I called ADT to cancel my service and the customer service representative told me I would have a $380 bill for disconnection. One of the things I appreciate most is the peace of mind it provides when I turn it on and relax with my husband.

    I haven't interacted with ADT representatives recently, but in the past, it was easy to get in touch with an actual person. I do plan to contact them soon for help adjusting the alarm's sound level, as I find it a bit low. I haven't had the time because I'm busy with my husband. I like the service so much that I want my daughter to get ADT as well.

    I decided to update my ADT home security system, as the panel needed changing and I needed a remote. Unfortunately, my home was burglarized. Signing up for the coverage was an OK experience with the sales representative, though it came with some surprises. He didn't thoroughly explain that I would have to pay for the equipment. Initially, I was told the payment would be brought down to $39.95, but I ended up paying $50. I later discovered that my payments included costs for the equipment, which wasn't clear from the start. They also mentioned something about paying $100 plus dollars for either a technician or other installments. As for the performance of the ADT system itself, I'm really pleased. It functions well, is automatic, and I appreciate having a remote with an option to disarm it via my phone. Despite the initial issues with payment, my sense of security is good with ADT. I also equipped our system with the Google Nest doorbell, for which they didn't charge extra.

    The ADT security system is fair, but I've encountered several issues, primarily concerning their customer service. When things go wrong or aren’t functioning properly, they tend to charge for everything. I believe that if their equipment requires troubleshooting, there shouldn’t be an additional cost to me for technician support.

    When I purchased my home in November, the previous homeowner already had their system installed. I opted to continue using ADT because it seemed convenient, and I appreciate the functionality it offers. Although there was one situation when the system went off mistakenly, leading to the fire department showing up. This was a bit surprising as I wasn't expecting the false alarm. Afterward, I received a letter from ADT indicating a rate increase due to the incident—an unexpected development.

    Despite that surprise, I've been satisfied with the system. This incident led to one of the two rate increases I've experienced in the four months I've had it installed. These were a bit unexpected, but I understand the necessity of keeping the system.

    We encountered an issue where our ADT system's Wi-Fi went out for no apparent reason, while other Wi-Fi-dependent devices in our home continued operating normally. When we tried to contact ADT customer support, it proved to be a hassle getting through to anyone, and when we did, scheduling a technician to address the issue took too long. The earliest they could send someone was days later.

    When a technician finally arrived, they couldn't find any problem, and miraculously, the Wi-Fi started working again on its own. This inefficiency left us without service for nearly four days, which I find unacceptable. ADT's customer service has been extremely disappointing because it's almost impossible to speak to a representative promptly. Everything is handled online, and even then, solutions are not quickly forthcoming.

    Additionally, when trying to resolve the issue over the phone, my husband spent extensive time troubleshooting with them in the cold, which was a very unpleasant experience. We even got warned about potential charges for a technician visit if they didn't find a problem—after already enduring such inconvenience.

    If anyone asked me about ADT, I would advise them to explore other options. We are dissatisfied with how issues are handled and the considerable delay in getting assistance. We still have two years left on our contract, and it's uncertain if we would renew it. Despite ADT's once stellar reputation, this disappointing customer service experience and prolonged wait times have been highly frustrating.

    In short, while our physical ADT security setup with the camera and monitor does what we need in terms of security, communication and service disruptions detract from overall satisfaction. I wouldn't recommend ADT to others based on the current service standard we're experiencing.

    Buyer beware! Customer service is poor and plan on spending hours if you want to cancel. Was transferred multiple times giving all the info again to be told wrong dept, hung up on, never get the call back if you choose for a callback instead of holding.     If I could give zero stars, I would. Despite my relocation contract, ADT refused to disconnect services at the house I sold. The sweet lady who bought my old house had fire trucks pulling up every time the smoke alarms went off and was afraid to even cook Thanksgiving dinner. I spent 50+ hours on hold, being transferred, re-explaining my situation to every new person, and getting a lot of promises of resolution (in 48 hours), but no delivery. They mistakenly kept both addresses (old and new) tied to my account, so I stopped paying. Surely if they weren't getting paid, they would disconnect all services, right? Wrong. They sent me to collections, but service remained on at both locations. 😂 The buyer of my house and I each had to bring an electrician in to disconnect and trash everything. With 50+ hours of experience with ADT customer service, I am qualified to rate them the worst I've ever seen.

    I have installed ADT+ which was supposed to be latest in tech - it doesn't do voice announcements (it's a simple Chime that we get). Also got Google Nest camera system, which is expensive that doesn't even do voice alerts on Google Hub. When requesting for cancelling within 15 days, I got locked into contract which asks me to pay whole amount for 3 years.
