    My recent claim with 2-10 was excruciatingly painful. We had just moved into the house on the 13th and noticed that the heat wasn't heating correctly. It'd gotten warm so we thought that the heat was kicking on but it was just because it was warm outside then it got cold again. I put in a claim and paid the service fee. The tech came out and determined it was the evaporator coil. Friday I was told that it was part of the 2-10 warranty and they won't have to pay for it. Then come Monday, 2-10 told me that they weren't gonna cover any of it. For me, that was odd. They gave me two reasons why.

    The first reason was that the part was under warranty and the plan that I had did not cover parts under warranty. I told them that it made sense because the manufacturer should cover that. If it was still under warranty, I wouldn't expect them to pay for a part that they didn't have to pay for. I still expect them to cover the labor though. But they said they weren't gonna cover that either.

    Then, in their professional opinion, the parts of the system were not in good condition when the service agreement started. But I had a full home inspection and they did an HVAC. They had a laser thermometer pointing at the vents and saw that the system was heating accurately. In their service agreement, it clearly stated that the system needs a simple, mechanical or visual inspection. I had proof of that and I sent that to them.

    At that time, it was the Friday before Christmas and I needed an answer because my wife is pregnant. We also had an 11-month-old at the house and it was cold. I needed to know what I needed to do as far as taking care of my family, getting this system fixed and then taking the appropriate action against the company to make sure that they were holding up the end of their bargain.

    Citing that I didn't have the supreme coverage that covered parts under warranty, it was a really bad issue because I was going to take legal action. They tried to play a lot of the vernacular and language games. I provided all the documentation in a timely manner but it just went from one department to another. The hold times on the phone were ridiculous so I spent hours on the phone with them trying to talk to the right people. One person denied the claim and another person said they were gonna pay for it.

    This was our first home purchase and apparently, they had 2-10 Home Warranty prior. The home was built in '16. The system is not old enough to malfunction and fail the way that it did so I was perturbed. In the end, they said they were going to accept the claim and that it was gonna be the last determination that they were gonna give. They also sent me back the $100 service fee, which was nice but they should've recouped that money because the tech did come out and do it. But it was a horrible experience all in all. I will definitely not renew them come next year.

    We’ve always felt safer having 2-10. But they could improve on the time that you wait on the telephone to speak to somebody, and the repetitiveness every time you transfer to somebody else. There’s never one person that can make a decision. They always have to refer back to someone else. Every single time I phone them, I’m on hold for probably an hour. The process is awful. Some of the techs have been rude. We had a claim three years ago and the contractor was unhelpful. They were overly defensive about the claim that we’ve made. We had quite a bad time with them. But this last year, the techs have been polite.

    The heating claim that I submitted to 2-10 went very well. The lady who dealt with me, kept me informed with everything that was happening. She didn't have a magic wand to make their system conform to me but she kept me informed about how it works. The customer service rep was a sweet young lady. She made the whole process go easier. My wife wanted everything to go faster but I knew it was a rare occasion for 2-10 to replace a gas furnace. Instead, 2-10 would temporarily repair it. We had to get a second opinion made as to whether the two heat exchangers we had were really irreplaceable or too expensive to replace. They helped us buy a couple of temporary heaters and we made it through a couple of weeks until we got all the approvals. The new gas furnace they put in has been working well. We are very pleased and I'm a believer in 2-10. They have kept me happy.

    When I reported the refrigerator to 2-10, the tech came the second day. The service was very nice. They told me that it was not working anymore so they send me the check and it was okay. The only problem I had with 2-10 was when I called last year for the AC, they said nobody could go after 8 or 10 days. So that day I called another office for the service because it was too hot. It was summer and I cannot wait that long. I didn’t like that claim. It took too long to come to fix the problem. But the people at 2-10 were okay. They were good.

    I bought my place and 2-10 was purchased by the seller. I call the warranty company for my claims and their customer service has been very good. When I made a claim for my heating system, that was handled very well. They sent someone out quickly. The contractor called me right away and we set a time. He came out and was very nice. He explained everything really well. He had to submit his report to 2-10 then they had to order an entire furnace. I told people at work about how great 2-10 is and some of them are thinking of calling and signing up.

    The drainage pipe that picks the waste out to the city street line was cracked. So originally, I had the contractor snake out the pipe. But rather than the snake going from the house area to the street, it kinda diverted off. The snake veered to the right and kinda stopped, and that’s how we found out there was a leak. The contractor did excellent work and I was very satisfied with the time frame that was given to me. They were very good. 2-10 was very responsive and handled it pretty immediately. Everything was perfect.

    I filed a few different claims over the year when we had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. And I did renew with them. However, for every single service item I called in for, I had to go find my own vendor. They didn't have a vendor to give me. They just don't have enough partners in this area and we're a smaller town. But then, I get to pick who I wanna use. But when I turned in my receipt on one of the items, they said that I wasn't approved for going out of network and that they were only gonna reimburse me whatever their contract rate was versus what I got charged. So, I had to go back and forth with them on that, which was more work on my side of life. I had to show them that they told me to go out of network and they eventually did go ahead and reimbursed me after much discussion and work on my part. I got my item fixed but they didn't wanna pay me back in full. So, that was a little frustrating.

    The water heater was really a sore item with me. It not only gives us hot water, but it also provides heat for our home. So, it went out in the cold months here. Apparently, they don't have a limit to the dollar amount on the water heater portion of their policy, so I had to call my own vendor as usual and I did. When the vendor called 2-10 to tell them what was wrong to get approval for repairs, they said, "This doesn't fall under water heater work. We're gonna put it under heating and cooling of the home." That has a cap of only $1500 and my whole bill for just getting a workaround for it to work for now, wound up being $4000. They only wanted to reimburse me 1500 and that was really disheartening. They wanted to put it under geothermal. I said, "Why can't you apply half of it to water heater and half of it under geothermal category, and let's just say I've maxed out my geothermal for the year because I used it?” But they wouldn't do it.

    I don't understand why they couldn't divide that for my purposes under two different categories, since it did heat my home and it was a hot water heater. That just meant that I would have been maxed out on my policy for the year and I couldn't have claimed another claim under that category. So, I’d have to look at the paperwork. But let's just say the category was heating/cooling. So, in the summer, if I were to have a cooling issue, I would have maxed out. I don't understand why they didn't do that one that way, because that's a big chunk of change out of a homeowner's pocket and that's the whole reason you buy the home warranty.

    I'm a Realtor so I do offer home warranties and suggest home warranties to my clients. So, the one thing I tell them is if you go with 2-10, you would have to pick your own vendor 99% of the time to do the repairs in your area. On one hand that's okay for me. I don't mind choosing my own vendors and don't go some willy-nilly company. Whereas the competitor, First American, have people they have under contract here, so they don't have to go find their own fix-it company when you’re working and you don’t have time to make all these phone calls. So, there's pros and cons to that. Overall, I’m not totally dissatisfied. The water heater issue really was the kicker.

    I usually call 2-10 instead of going on the internet, and I’ve had excellent service from the representatives. And the people that they send out are very high quality. The furnace broke down and the fellow came in and took the serial numbers that he had to do to report to 2-10, and the furnace was ordered. He got it on a Wednesday and then on Thursday he installed it. I was very pleased. Another part had to be custom made to go on top of the furnace, they did that and installed it, and it was perfect.

    I called in and made a claim with 2-10 for our AC that stopped working. That was not handled well at all. It still has not been resolved. 2-10 never sent us any paperwork since we ordered our warranty. We still don't have anything in regards to this warranty. We've never received information in the mail saying that, "Here's your warranty. Here's who you call. Here's this. Here's that."

    When I called 2-10, they thought it was a house that was for sale. We were getting the seller's coverage during the term of our listing agreement. But we bought a policy on our house as owners of the property. It was a big mess. We ended up calling in and I got from one department to another. They finally said to us they were gonna cover $1,500. We decided to go ahead and have it because we live in Florida. We could not have a heat exchanger and the AC. They shut off our both our ACs because one unit wasn't doing well and the other one pretty much stopped working. We ended up replacing them both.

    I then talked to my rep and asked if there was a possibility of getting reimbursed for the 1,500. She asked what the 1,500 was for. I told her that was what the customer service told me. She said no. That was for a house that is listed and not a property that is already under warranty. It was a big mix-up. We requested the paperwork be sent to us. It was never sent to us even after we got the reimbursement for some of the money. They gave us 1,765 towards the AC units that we replaced.

    The only reason I know a little more than the average person is because I'm a real estate broker that works for a firm that uses the 2-10 warranty. I kind of went around the system knowing that I probably shouldn't do that. But we got a really good price on getting our two AC systems installed from a third-party, which I'm certain 2-10 could not have covered for that kind of money.

    The first technicians that came out called the refrigerator “El Garbage”, and unfortunately, I can’t disagree with him at this point. I was offended, but he probably saw that the refrigerator was not in a good place. The second person that came was awesome. He took everything out and he was able to open the back of the refrigerator. I had the same person for the third and the fourth visits. On the third visit, he said that the problem was the motherboard, and that he could feel that the pipe was hot up at the top so nothing was going up top. He replaced the motherboard, and he said it would take 24 hours for the refrigerator to cool off. But it is still not working.

    I threw food out last night. I'm standing right in front of the ref with the doors wide open right now. When you open the refrigerator, you would at least feel this refreshing air that kinda hits you, but that’s not happening. I have my hand up against the interior wall and there’s nothing cool about it, not to the point that it’s keeping food cool. But the technicians were great. They were very knowledgeable. They knew exactly what they were doing. They were very customer-oriented. They answered my questions. I asked if they thought that it would work, and they said, “We don’t know.” And that was a very real and true response. I still think I'm sitting in the same place I was from the very beginning though. The motor is working. I hear the refrigerator turn off and on, running, but it ain’t cooling. So I need to call 2-10 up. But overall, I like 2-10. They give their service by the response that you get and their willingness to respond when something happens.

    The power board for my dishwasher stopped working. I submitted a claim to 2-10 online and it was a very easy process. They called me the same day. Everything went well and from the moment the guy came to the house and looked at my dishwasher, it didn’t take very long. I was more than happy with everything from the beginning to the end.

    However, their contractor didn't have a business card. He wasn’t wearing any attending tag or anything really professional. Still, he was very nice and on 2-10's side, everything was great. Perhaps 2-10 could supply their contractors an agreement showing that I contacted the contractors through them and that they are the ones being sent out for my claim.

    My recent claim with 2-10 was horrible. The contractor came the next morning after I filed the claim to pull a sticker off of my water heater so he could then get in touch with 2-10 and get the replacement ordered. On Wednesday he contacted my husband by text at about 10:45. And he told my husband that he had the water heater and that he was gonna stop for lunch and he would be there after lunch. He didn’t show up until 5:30 and showed up drunk. My husband is a cancer survivor who went through chemo and has lost his sense of smell so he didn’t smell the alcohol on the man when he came into the house.

    My husband just said to me, “He’s acting funny.” I was on the phone for work. The gentleman said some things to my husband under some sort of discrimination. My husband was supposed to leave to go to church, but didn’t wanna leave me alone with him, so he went and knocked on the neighbor’s door, and got the neighbor to come over until my mother came because he didn’t wanna leave me alone with him.

    So the guy was installing the water heater drunk. He spoke to me a couple of times and told me that he had to leave to go pick his daughter up from daycare and the other water heater was still emptying out and he wasn’t gonna be able to get it up the stairs because it was in the basement. He asked if he could come back the next morning. I said that he could. But I said I was gonna reserve paying him until the next morning. I was gonna hold my check until he came to get it because I didn’t have the fancy warranty. The warranty I had said that I had to pay for removal of the water heater and pay a $35 fee for him to contact the city to get an inspector to come out. I had to pay $100 for the service call. The second check was 185. So he got 200 out of us. We don’t care. He’s never coming back to our house. We’re never contacting him again.

    The next day when he called to pick up the water heater I sent him a message at 10 o’clock and said, “What time can we expect you today?” And by then, my brother had stopped by on his way to work, and my husband and my brother and I got the water heater up the basement stairs and out on the driveway. We didn’t want this man coming back into our home. The next day when he came there was also some more comments regarding race that were made, and he was also drunk the second day. But he had a friend driving him that day. I was concerned about the installation of the water heater because a drunk person did it.

    I called 2-10 back on Friday and expressed those concerns without saying that the man was drunk because I didn’t want them to call him and say that I had called and said he was drunk and have him try and come back and yell at us. He had been very aggressive in some of the things that he said. When he showed up at the house on Thursday and he was climbing out of the van he turned to my husband and said, “Do you wanna get murdered today? ‘Cause I feel like killing somebody.” And then he started to laugh. We didn’t find that funny at all. I wanted 2-10 to send a plumber out, and they told me to call him and have him come back. I explained to them that I was never calling him again. And we also never had any information on the city inspector.

    Also one of the gentlemen at 2-10 that I talked to made me cry. I called back for a week. And then when I called back the second Friday that rep said, “You just need to call that man and have him come back out.” I replied, “You don’t understand. This man is not coming back to my house.” I got a lump in my throat, and he could tell that I kinda cried, and he said, “Are you crying?” He kind of belittled me and that wasn’t okay with me. I called back the following week and he answered the phone. I said, “You don’t remember me, but I remember you. You made an impression on me.” I said, “Last week, I was scared and upset. This week, I’m angry. And I want this resolved.”

    And they finally sent another plumber out. And luckily the city inspector hadn’t come before because we wouldn’t have passed the inspection. The second plumber that came out was amazing. He and my husband spoke and then, finally, 2-10 had him request our permit. 2-10 told me I was gonna have to just spend the money and get another permit. I said, “I’m not spending a dime. You all sent this person to my house. I did what I was supposed to do. I paid him. And you’re gonna take care of this.”

    2-10 didn’t work for me. Once the issue was resolved and after the city inspector came I canceled 2-10. They’re no longer my warranty company. I have another warranty company now. Had they been kinder to me about dealing with that contractor they wouldn’t have lost me as a customer. The way that they treated me while I was going through that nightmare was why they lost me. I was told a couple of times that someone would be following up with me. No one ever followed up with me ever.

    The microwave kept tripping the circuit breaker in the garage every time I turn it on. Then as soon as I press the button, it wouldn't even come on anymore. So I filed a claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They reached out to the contractor that they worked with. It took a while for the contractor to reach me but 2-10 did follow up within a day and a half to ask me if the contractor contacted me. I let them know they didn't, they reached out to the contractor for me and then the contractor finally called me. The service was great. They repaired the microwave and it worked that day. The next morning, the microwave started doing the same exact issue again. At that point, they had to order a part and they decided to rebuild the entire microwave. So, that took another two weeks before they got the part in and then came back out again. It's been working fine so far. 2-10 is really good.

    The water heater claim was leaking and there was sediment coming out of the pressure relief valve, and it just got worse and worse. At that point, we had to turn it off because water was coming into the house. The 2-10 contractor came and acted quickly, and they got it done. But they couldn’t repair it because the water out here is full of sediments of scale, so it was really terrible. It took almost a week to get it resolved because they had to come out here, send in the report, and they had to buy it from a local vendor out here, so that took a little while for them. And then they scheduled it. It would've been four days, but the plumbers couldn't get it scheduled that quick. The minute it was available to buy, they had other appointments. So, that was the only delay, but they were good. I've had 2-10 for five years. I’ve had a couple things repaired, and I asked all the plumbers and they always say 2-10’s the best.

    We submitted a claim to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for the refrigerator that fried. It didn't work at all. We normally get an email saying to expect the contractors within 24 hours. But we put the claim in on a Saturday, so we had to wait for the contractor to come out until Monday. The contractors that came out were all very nice. They looked at the refrigerator and made a determination that it was beyond repair. We received a payment from 2-10, and we're just waiting on the refrigerator to come in. We had our closing on December 2nd and as our first claim, we were very happy with the experience.

    The contractor that came out for the water heater did an okay job. When we got through, I said, “I need to give you a check for $75.” He said, “No, I don’t do warranty.” I called 2-10 and then they talked for half an hour and he said he’s never done it. They never gave me a reason for it. I ended up having to pay him and then wait for two weeks to get reimbursed for the $900 cost. I've been with 2-10 for two years. I’ve only used it twice, so far. Being retired and on a fixed income, it was $954 out of pocket that I wasn’t expecting, so that was an inconvenience. Otherwise, I have no complaints except for the renewal that's about to double for this year that’s coming up. It was $500 and some a year last year, and this year they were saying it was $900. I called them about that and they said, “Just wait ‘til it gets closer to renewal time and they’ll lower the price.” So, we’ll have to see when it gets much closer and it expires on the 28th of February.

    Aire Serv comes and they service my heating and the central air every spring and every fall. 2-10 usually sends them because I request them. They're taking care of it and cleaning it. They know about the unit. We had a problem with the heating system the year before last year and they fixed it. Then we had to stay out of the home for eight months last year because of the hurricane and when we got back this year, the heating system was doing the same thing that it was doing a year before that that was fixed. They fixed it again and it’s heating now. This is the first cold day we’ve had in about two weeks. It was cold outside this morning and it was nice and warm in here.

    2-10 has paid my claims all the time. But I won’t be real happy if it continues this because I don’t know what’s doing it until I get my light bill. And my light bill was over $500 the first time it did that. So, I don’t know if I should be given a new unit because the problem keeps occurring. I don’t know how much they're paying each time the service company come but if it’s $200 or $300 or $400, then it would be to their advantage to go and get me a new unit because it adds up. Also, it is a little bit inconvenient to have to be really cold or really hot. But other than that, they have paid very good.

    The top oven of the double oven stopped working. I could turn it on, but it wouldn’t heat. Then the bottom one started not heating up to the right temperature and everything took twice as long to cook. So, I called 2-10. The guy looked at it and said, “These are probably the five things that are wrong with it, but I need to replace the control board before I figure out anything else.” So, he submitted that all to 2-10. Then they called and said how much those were gonna cost. They could repair it or give me a check for a new oven. I chose the check.

    I had water in my basement and the sump pump wasn’t working. The guy came out, got permission on the spot to fix it, and I have a dry basement once again. I’ve been with 2-10 for about two years and my other claims have had varying degrees of satisfaction. Some are taking longer than others to get resolved. My oven crapped out on me before and the holdup is on me now. I need to make a decision on whether I take the replacement or the money. Then, my refrigerator stopped working and it has been taking way too long for them to roll out with the option of what refrigerator they're gonna replace it with. I’ve been without a refrigerator for about a week and a half now. So, for the sump pump, it was awesome but for the refrigerator, it was not so good. It would be nicer to get through the process a little faster, especially from the point of getting it replaced to the point of giving the options especially with things like refrigerators.

We ended up waiting about three and a half weeks because there were a lot of issues with the company. 2-10 should make sure their contractor's address is correct to send parts.

    The water heater broke on Friday before Christmas, and the 2-10 warranty contract people could not come out until Christmas eve. That was the earliest that these companies said they could come out. We have five people in the house and there’s no way we could do without hot water for that amount of time. So, 2-10 told me I could go and find an outside contractor, and that was what I did. The contractor came out that day, and we’ve had no problems with the heater. They were very professional, but they were not one of 2-10's contractors. Therefore, I was told that I had to pay more. The service was $1,587 and I ended up having to pay the difference between 838 in that. That was more than what I expected.

    That was a little unfair under the circumstances because their contractors can’t provide a response in a timely way for something which is a necessity. I reluctantly went ahead and paid the 800-some dollars out of my pocket. I did get a check from 2-10 in a timely way, but it wasn’t as much as I thought that the reimbursement would be. Other than that, I have not had a problem with the contractors. From the garage door to plumbing to electrical issues, I have found them to be excellent. Overall, we consider 2-10 one of the best. My wife is a real estate agent and she’s referred her clients to use them. We still tell people about them, particularly new homebuyers. I can call them almost any time in the day or the night, and when I call them, they have been responsive. They’re very professional when it comes to the customer service end of it.

    I've had 2-10 for going on 4 years now, and so far, it’s been easy to file a claim. It’s not like pull-and-tease. When something goes wrong and need to be taken care of, I can actually work with them. I submit claims online and the process is quick. They did a good job on the website so it’s pretty self-explanatory. The only part that’s really a pain, and it’s probably with all warranties, is I’m only calling them when something is wrong and so that means that we’re down something. And a lot of times, it takes over a week to get a response where I actually get somebody on site.

    In the middle of winter, the water heater went out and we got 3 kids under five years old. We had to wait a week and a half just to get somebody to look at it, when I could just go run down to Home Depot and fix it myself. But then that would cost me extra 200 bucks. I gotta make that extra money worth it or not. So, 2-10's response time could be improved. Other than that, the technicians who came out for the water heater were quick, helpful, and nice guys. They did a good job.

    I submitted a claim to 2-10 and they handled it beautifully. The home warranty was something that our Realtor had asked for. We had just moved into the house a couple days into June, and the owner of the house had bought the home warranty through 2-10. David and I thought that was nice. Normally, whatever happens, happen three weeks after it expires, or it’s not covered. That’s how it always works with the appliances but in this case, I was really surprised because they had taken good care of the house.

    The heater was original to the house, and when the home inspector came through, he didn’t really see a problem. But when he did come through, it was like 92 degrees outside so they didn’t turn the heat on. Everything looked okay. We did turn it on the beginning of October and everything was fine. It wasn’t running much at all because in New Jersey, we get summer that goes way into even November sometimes, and it would run at night. And everything was fine. It sounded fine. My husband’s an electrical engineer, so if it sounded funny, he would’ve noticed it. But I was home one day in November, and we were putting up Christmas decorations and it was warm enough outside in the morning to crack your windows a little bit. But as the afternoon went on, I felt that it was getting awfully cold in here. I realized that it had gotten cold outside so I shut the windows, but it never did get warmer.

    By the time my husband came home, it was like 60 degrees in the house and the heater had never gone on and I told to him, “You might want to look at that.” So, he went down, banged on a few things, and he said it was not working. He said, “But I can’t see why. The pilot light’s lit but it’s not staying lit.” He called the number we had for 2-10 and expected nothing. But the next morning, they had someone call us, a heating company, and the guy was out within a few hours. And he went down, he looked at it, and he says, “The good news is that there’s nothing drastic, but you do need a new furnace.” When I said, “That’s the good news,” he said, “But it’s covered.” It took them two days. It was chilly in here. The temperatures had dropped in the last days, but they were in here within 48 hours with a brand-new heater, got it installed, and it was ready to go in one day.

    The day before they came to install the heater, the phone rang and it was the people from 2-10 wanting to know what they had said and they want pictures taken and that kind of thing of whatever the defect was with the heater. And I thought, “This is great. They’re gonna find a reason not to cover this.” But they didn’t. They asked the questions they needed to, and the guy came out, and he had the heater.

    The dishwasher was washing but it wasn't drying. 2-10's contractor came to work on it two weeks ago. They had to order a part and they said the part would be delivered within two weeks. But they're still not back, so the dishwasher is still broken. It has been three total weeks since the appliance guy first got there. So, I'm now in limbo. The guys who came out were nice. They came out there twice. The first guy that came out assessed what was wrong, so you'd think he'd go ahead and order the part. The second guy came out a week later thinking he had all the parts, but he didn't. Apparently, the first guy that came out did not assess the problem efficiently, so the second guy found it and they just postponed me three weeks. Hopefully, they bring the right parts this time. As far as 2-10, they've been very nice and they seem to get right on things. It's just that the contractors that they hire are not efficient. They don't get things done like you would think.

    My agent also has 2-10 and swears by them. He said that they have always been good work for him. He’s a real estate agent, so I’m assuming he also recommended 2-10 to other clients. My experience has been up and down though. I bought a new house and had a home inspection done. From day one, when I got into the house, I started having small, nagging issues here and there. The HVAC was the major issue. At the very beginning, it has been tough because 2-10 contracts out a lot of their work. And because the contractor does a lot the work, I don’t know what kind of QA is done on it.

    Initially, one of my ACs stopped working. I called 2-10 to get them out there to fix it. They sent one company and the tech said that my Freon was low and he just needed to put some in it. He also said that there was a pressure thing that they needed to do. They just put Freon in, but they didn't do a pressure test to try to find the leak. Another issue I had was that when my AC was on, my heat will kick on for no apparent reason. I didn’t get very much help by calling into 2-10. The rep authorized the thermostat to be replaced, but it never was.

    When winter came I had an issue with my heat in both upstairs and downstairs units. I put in for the heat. The contractor came out and said that I was low on Freon. I asked if the Freon and heat go together. They said they didn't know and they had to replace the coils and a fan. I said okay. It went on for a little while because 2-10 ordered the parts and sent it to the contractor. However, the part that was ordered wasn’t programmed correctly.

    I waited a little while and 2-10 sent another part to them. But there was a point when I said that I’d pay for whatever the part was so I could have heat. They said that they would come out on Monday, but they never did. When I asked if they were gonna come out, they said they were closed. I said, "You told me that you’re gonna come out. You took all the stuff out of my house and I have no heat, and it’s cold. What do you want me to do?” Eventually, the part came and I was told that it was gonna be put on tester somewhere to make sure it was programmed correctly. Then the contractor came about two hours late. They installed everything and said that it was working great. Unfortunately, I was at work and somebody else was there to make sure that the work was done. When I got back to the house, my emergency heat was still on.

    When I call 2-10 on the phone, they normally have somebody call me back and the issue is rectified. But I'm having issues with their subcontractors. I shouldn’t have to contact 2-10 so a contractor can do their job properly. I’m constantly dealing with an issue where the contractors can’t do the work that they claim they can do When I asked a contractor what was going on with the system, his exact words to me were, “Your system is about to die. But as far as 2-10 is concerned, as long as there are still parts to be made for your system, they don’t care how many parts they have to change in that unit, they’ll keep changing the parts until they can’t anymore.” I asked how was that cost-effective and he said that it wasn't. 2-10 figured that it was more advantageous to keep throwing parts at the issue than just putting in a new unit and calling it a day. Other then that, I’m satisfied with 2-10.

    Our heating system claim with 2-10 went fine. The technician that came out was great. It was the same guy I had last time. He was really nice. The system just needed a part and he fixed it quickly, and everything is fine now. Their claims process has been really easy. I just called and then they called me within two hours or less. And then they asked what time I was gonna be home so they could be there. I told them and they came on time.

    I've had 2-10 coverage for about a year and a half, but I just sent a cancellation yesterday just because their prices went up. To be honest, I didn’t notice it because it just comes out of my credit card account and I have a bunch of stuff in my credit cards. I just pay a big amount each month. And then I realized it, and when I called yesterday, the rep said, “If you called in back then, we could’ve gotten you a discount. I can get you a discount now if you can wait. Or I’ll call you back.” I said no because they told me they'd drop it by 20%, 30% now, but they wouldn’t retroactive back to September. So, that made me even more mad because I’ve been paying the extra amount since September and they knew I could’ve gotten one. They could’ve sent me a letter telling me to call in, but they didn’t say anything. I just thought that that was really bad business. My experience was great though with how fast they were to turnaround stuff.

    We purchased a home in June 2019. The previous homeowners paid for a supreme package with this company. We never received any information regarding the warranty. We didn't realize we had a warranty until a lady called us and asked us if we received our welcome packet. We advised her we didn't and asked to have one sent. We never received any paperwork and our calls weren't returned. I called today after finding the one email we received with minimal information. I wanted to have our freezer serviced but found out we didn't call them to report we had other appliances within 30 days so we aren't covered. We didn't know to report anything because we never received documentation. We still have no idea what we're covered for and our freezer is not working. I'm very disappointed that the error is clearly on the company's side but they won't assist.

    2-10 was recommended to me by my Realtor. As far as 2-10’s concerned, everything was good on their side. The first contractor, on the other hand, was a little shady. We set up an appointment, and then the guy completely forgot about it after he had me text him to remind him. The second guy was nice and knowledgeable. He was from Sears. He showed up, knew what he was doing, and got the parts ordered. He was on the phone for a while holding for 2-10 to give their approval. I was really surprised because 2-10 was paying for the parts, which was like $11 less than a new refrigerator.

    Due to the availability of Sears being back out here, because they were looking at a month to get back out here and install the parts, being that long without a refrigerator, especially at the holiday times, I called back to 2-10 and asked them, “Look, can we just cut a check for this and I go get a new refrigerator because I can’t wait this long?” And after talking to several different people, they were finally like, “Yeah, no problem. We can do that.” When I was trying to see about getting a check, I got a lot of, “Well, that’s not my department. Let me get you to the department that does that.” I went through four different people before I got to somebody who would handle that. To this day, I am still waiting for Lowe’s to deliver the third refrigerator, hopefully, undamaged. But they’re letting us use the last one until we get the newest one. They’re probably about a month out. So, it’s been a nightmare, but it's not on 2-10’s side. They’ve been handling it quite well.

    When I first bought the house, they had said that the water heater was really rusty and old and needed looking at soon. I then forgot about it. I'm on an upper unit and my water heater is above my head, up in the attic, which is an odd place for it. When I went to a homeowner's meeting a couple of months ago, several other homeowners were talking about their bad experiences with their water heater leaking all over their unit and thousands of dollars in damage. Originally, I forgot I had the warranty and I was looking at how to come up with 900 bucks. I talked to my son who said that I've got a home warranty. I said, “Yeah,” and he asked if the warranty covered the water heater. I called 2-10 and they got right on it. Within two weeks I had a new water heater. I was really surprised at how quick it was.

    When I called in, I talked to somebody really nice on the phone. Within a couple of minutes of hanging up, I had an email with all the details of the claim and it had all the steps that were gonna happen next. Since I already had somebody come out, they didn’t need to send somebody out. I let my plumber know who to contact and the claim number. He then called them and sent them the information about the water heater. They then sent me an email and said they’ll pay for the whole thing. Then we scheduled to put it in. Two days after I had it put in, I got the check in the mail. I was really pleased.

    When I called AHS for my stove and microwave, they were really fast. While we were on the phone, boom, I got the emails with the work order numbers. And then, within 10 minutes of getting those emails, I had the contractor contacting me. They said that they got my work order from 2-10 and asked when they could schedule to come out.

    I've had 2-10 for four years now when we signed the mortgage papers and moved in. When filing claims, I call 2-10 on the 800 number, give them the particulars, then they'll send somebody out of their choosing to determine the validity of the claim. The contractors they send out are phenomenal. Every time somebody's been out here, it was top-notch. They look for as many solutions as they can find that will be the most effective, not just replacing or taking something. All of them that came in here looked around to see if there were any other potential issues. Not necessarily generating business for themselves, but they were trying to make sure that we didn't have any problems that we couldn't anticipate, or they saw something that my naked uneducated eye wouldn't see.

    We've had three claims. One was some leaking water that they had to repair some piping. Then they replaced our air conditioner about two and a half years ago. Then they had to replace the furnace a couple of weeks ago and the parts weren't available to repair it. 2-10, especially the contractors they've chosen, called on weekends and evenings just to make sure that everything was still going. They weren't interrupting anything. I have already recommended them to several other people that I've known for a long time that own their own homes.

    With 2-10, I prefer to submit my claims online. Their process is pretty easy but then I always follow up after I submit because I had an issue in the past wherein they sent my claim to a contractor and that contractor never reached out to me. The very first experience I had with them in getting a tech to repair a pipe was not very good. They never followed up and I had to call them. When I did, they told me they didn't see my claim and that was after two weeks of filing my claim with 2-10. When the contractor came, the techs told me that they don't have a certain part so they would have to come out when they got it. The issue was just a pipe. It wasn't anything major nor was it a specialty item. For another week, the water was shut off. Moreover, I don't think the contractor really looked into the situation as the pipe is still leaking.

    I also had a recent experience with 2-10 for my heating system. It was when it was 20 degrees and below and I had to keep calling them every day. The contractors said they had to reschedule the appointment. Moreover, they had to go get the part needed, come back and check that part in. They got the part needed the next morning but they never checked it in until the next day. So, I had to wait for them to do that and still had to wait to be scheduled for the day after that. Still, 2-10 was very thorough and efficient in trying to get someone to repair my furnace quickly. They were quick to approve my request and got that approval to the technician assigned in time. Also, with 2-10, I have the option to see if they can get another technician if I'm not satisfied with the one I got.

    I’m not happy with the service of 2-10. Every time I call, whatever I request, it’s not covered by them. And then the other day, I had a request on my heating system. I’m paying $100 every month and they said 2-10 only covers about $730, and out-of-pocket, I have to pay 1,000. What I pay out-of-pocket on top of my monthly payment is more than what the warranty covers. For the past four years, it was the second request I had. If I add up all the 100 that I paid already monthly, I could save more. And I just could get part of it for the whole furnace to get it replaced. Then what’s the point if I have to pay monthly and I have to pay more out-of-pocket? I don’t see any point of having the warranty. I’m about to cancel it. I just didn’t have time to cancel it, but I will.

    When I had a claim, the contractor was good. He was there on time. He took care of it. He was pretty professional. My experience has been good. The only thing is I wish I knew the kind of deductibles we should pay. Nowhere the limitations are mentioned in the contract. Suddenly, it was put up. They said they would replace it with a similar model. But then contractor comes up with his own model and they replaced with a different model. They never told us that we have to pay something out of pocket. Those are the kind of hidden costs never explicitly explained anywhere in the contract. I tried to go over it but never found anything anywhere.

    I had one company come in for 2-10 for my toilet but then they were not good. They were not doing what they should do. If I'm paying a service fee of $100-plus every time to 2-10, there is no reason for a contractor to take my money without fixing my problem. Another company came in and the problem was corrected. I'm going through the same thing with 2-10 and my HVAC. A guy came out saying he did something but then my heat is still not doing what it should do. I left that contractor three messages throughout that day on mobile but the tech didn't call me back.

    Yesterday, I got on the phone and talked to 2-10 and the reinstatement letter is still open for him to come back out. Currently, I still haven't heard from him. I shouldn't have to make calls back to 2-10 about the kind of service that I'm getting. Every time I call back to say something is still not working, I don't have another $100 just lying around. I'm not gonna be able to pay another company to come out and fix what I need. Either 2-10 should waive the fee or they will take care of my issue.

    Between September to present, I've had toilet issues, and other situations involving faucet drips in my master bedroom. Now, I have an HVAC issue. I've had to call back on all three of those problems. One company even came out and they just took pictures of my faucet to replace my kitchen faucets and to see the drips in my master bedroom faucet. That company expected me to pay them $100 for taking pictures. 2-10 still has a lot to learn. At the end of the day, some of their contractors are not good. Still, when I cal 2-10, their reps are very courteous and they try to help the situation with us. The customer service they provide is good.

    The heating system wasn’t blowing hot air, so I called 2-10. Everything was over automated system, and then they gave me the information to the individual that was gonna come out. I contacted them and we got the repair scheduled. I've had 2-10 policy since ‘17 and so far, everything was great. I did run into one issue last year when my AC completely went out and it needed a whole new system. It was hot in my house, so on multiple days I had to go stay elsewhere. I couldn't even sleep in my own home just because it didn't get approved in a timely manner, and it took three weeks. And in places like Arizona, it is definitely hot so it’s crucial. The last contractor that came out for the heating system was great. The one that came out last year for the AC sounded great, but he’s now out of business for some reason.

    Despite being covered under a "Supreme" warranty I have now been without a working heating system for 26 days. Service Request ** was opened on 12/19/19. 2-10 dispatched a contractor to diagnose the system and the diagnosis was that the unit was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. 2-10 then dispatched a 2nd contractor who came to the same conclusion. The unit needs to be repaired. It was at this time that 2-10 went rather silent regarding the status of our service request leaving my wife and I to drive this for them.

    My wife and I have followed up daily with 2-10, but despite this have made very little progress. We were told we could find a contractor and have them submit bids to 2-10. We found 3 contractors, 2 of which work with 2-10, and have had them submit bids. Even with us doing their leg work we still have not seen any results from 2-10 and they continue to state they can not find a contractor. This is completely false, the issue is instead that 2-10 is trying to avoid honoring their end of the agreement.

    2-10 advertises that the "average replacement cost for an air conditioner is $5,418.00 without a home warranty". Despite this, they offered me less than half that as an attempt to buy me out as they could not find a contractor (again this false, they can not find a price they like). We did not accept this. 2-10 then attempted to dispatch a contractor to my home who is not even licensed to do work in this state. Again this was something my wife and I were left to verify. Glad we did as I do not want to deal with the issues of having non-licensed contractors do work in my home, but again here we are again with no resolution or ETA as to when we will see a resolution.

    We were advised by ** that they would reimburse us for the space heaters we have been forced to buy as a result of this. My wife was told that we simply needed to email him the receipts. I did this on January 6th and despite repeated follow up he has now gone silent as well and we do not know the status of our reimbursement.

    Calling into 2-10 with a service request such as ours is a nightmare. When requests such as mine are open for such an extended period of time I would think that 2-10 would assign a single point of contact. Unfortunately this is not the case. I have spoke with several front line agents, various people in their purchasing department, and now their contractor relations team. Again, this issue is not a contractor issue, and even if it was, why do I as the consumer have to do so much leg work.

    Each call to 2-10 requires an hour of time, most of which is spent on hold while the agent calls other departments, reads notes, etc... none of which ever result in our service request moving forward. My wife and I are at our wit's end, we have been patient through the holidays (Christmas with no heat. What a joy that was.) but are rapidly beginning to lose the little patience we have left. I am not certain what our options are at this point and would appreciate any assistance in coming to a resolution on this asap.

    I have two different heaters and both of them were not working at the start of the winter. 2-10 handled it fine. The company that fixed both of them has been out to my house many times and they’re great. All of the contractors 2-10 has sent out have been really good, except for the guy who was working on my refrigerator a little over a year ago. He kept coming out over and over again. He wasn't submitting the invoices in a timely manner to 2-10. By the time he submitted all of them and they looked at it, they finally agreed just to replace the refrigerator. I lost about $1,200 of value because everything he was billing them came out of the replacement cost of the refrigerator. There was a $2,500 cap on replacing it and he ate up $1,200 of that because he wasn’t sending them the invoices. 2-10 said there wasn’t anything they could do. I talked to one manager and he said he would call me back but he never did.

    That whole process took about five months. So, that was five months where I didn’t have a refrigerator. That would be the only issue. That was just a weird thing and it was mostly because the contractor himself was bad, but I would ask 2-10 to do a better job of tracking. Anytime somebody gets called out, they can see how many times that dude has been called out and at some point, they should've started asking questions a lot earlier than they did.

    It’s easy to submit claims with 2-10, but I wish they would have a better tier system. With almost all claims and with a majority of things, the top that they will do is 500, which doesn’t nearly cover any kind of claim. However, they handled my water heater claim fairly well. They also helped me with a leaking window, a smell in my laundry room and several things with my air conditioner. And when I had a leak in a pipe in-between the walls downstairs, the people that they set up came out and set up all kinds of equipment in the middle of the night to dry it out. Although I had to replace the pad underneath, the carpet was saved because they came out so quickly.

    The cooling systems weren't working in the refrigerator and the freezer stopped working so it didn't make ice. We called 2-10 quickly, which was the day after. The first contractor they sent out came out but he wouldn't submit the report to 2-10 for some reason. He dragged his feet for three or four days so it dragged the whole thing out by an extra week or a week and a half. 2-10 had to find a new contractor, send them out and then do the whole process again. The compressor had to be replaced and since then, everything has been great. I also called 2-10 about our garage door and they said they were gonna have a contractor call us. They never called us in three days. I called 2-10 back to see what was going on. I work 14 hours a day so it was hard for me to keep calling back in all the time and I had to keep doing that. 2-10’s process was a little inefficient at times, but in the end, they got it fixed. It just took a while longer to finish it.

    The water heater leaked and wasn't heating. It needed to be replaced because it was old. I called 2-10 and the agent was very pleasant. Then when I talked to the one gentleman, he asked if there would be someone who would be in the place with cash upfront. It was red flag and I quickly looked the company up and got what their reference was then I told 2-10 that I didn't want them. That was the one thing I didn't like about it. 2-10 didn't have the contractor's referral information, ratings, and if that was a Better Business Bureau rating. 2-10 should know who they're recommending and sending. If I was gonna tell a company, I wouldn’t want to have a company in one's home that I would not have in my home. But overall, 2-10 handled the claim very well.

    Submitting my claim was relatively easy and interacting with the representative was very pleasant. I was a little concerned with the contractor though. When I called 2-10 to give them the reason I needed somebody to take a look at the issue, the contractor did not seem to put in much effort. He just kinda listened. I told him the same thing that I told the representative of 2-10 on the phone. He nodded his head, took some pictures and said that they'd contact 2-10 about getting a replacement.     One out of the two ladies the ladies that work in the office, who were at the forefront, picking up the calls and answering questions, was exceptional. I strongly recommend and appreciate her for helping me out and expediting the service where it should be. She went out of her way to follow up and I strongly felt that she did a whole lot of good, that she didn't have to. She far exceeded her level of service.

    On the other hand, the other person within the same office could have done a whole lot more to help me out. But she played it by the book. Whatever she was able to do, she would, nothing more, nothing less. And when it comes to the actual service, and I strongly felt that their technical folks did not do a good job. The very first person that came out and did the assessment, overcharged me a lot for what I didn't need to have. Also, I wasn't given a breakdown of additional charges so I would not have known myself. When I called the insurance company that deals with 2-10, I learned that the service provided me with repairs and the charges should not have even existed in the first place.

    For example, they said I must have a CO detector, which I already had in the basement, and put in a charge for 100. They also charged for over 200 dollars because they said there was no access to the basement so that they could carry the hot water unit in and out to replace or repair. The guy was standing right by the basement door that had the double staircase with 10 steps or so. He said, "Here's what the insurance would cover, and here's what you have to pay extra for us to fix for you."

    I had to call 2-10 to find out what the charges were from the repair contractors and dispute that. And even when I called, I had to pay for them to take action. If I didn't, I would be out of my water service. I have a young son and elderly parents waiting for me. They have had no water for about five days. If I don't pay, how long would it take before the repair can be done? So, I had to pay right up front and only to learn after the invoice was sent to me that the two services they said they would have to perform for my hot water unit to be up and running, did not have to be done in the first place.

    I called to cancel, but I was told that it was already in the system and I couldn't can't cancel it." And when I went to check if a CO machine was installed, it was not! I said that I was being charged for something that wasn't even installed in the first place. The same person who provided the installation came back and gave me a little plastic device that was less than three inches wide. He said I needed to plug it in with a couple of batteries and hang it on the wall.

    I have had tremendous difficulties submitting claims. When I called, I was redirected to the website where I had to fill out the information. I got a confirmation via email. I never got a call though because it takes 24 to 48 hours for somebody to respond. I had to call and speak with their staff. They said they received the claim under the system and that it takes time for them when the system pulls up. They also said that they'd contact me to let me know who the contractor was.

    I said I needed the service ASAP. It's December, it's cold and I have no hot water. I also said that it was leaking and I was paying for water every single day that the repair was delayed. For them, that was not an emergency. Also, my water bill was over 400 dollars, whereas I normally pay about 200 dollars. It took about two days to receive a call from the contractor, which I wasn't very happy about. Then it took a day for then for them to come out. From there, they said it rested on the hands of the insurance company. I asked if there was a way for them to expedite. They said they would have to charge me to expedite. They also overcharged me and they took advantage of my emergency.

    All in all, paying for the insurance and paying for the deductible before they even stepped a foot into my house, I was more than 800 dollars out of pocket. When I called the insurance company, they said I could organize it with a contractor that can come and pick up the unit who could then install it whenever they were available. But when I contacted 2-10, they said that the purchasing department has to purchase the unit and it would take 72 hours at the minimum for it to be processed. They would then send out a notification to the contractor to pick up the unit. Then depending on their availability, they would schedule to come out.

    I have nothing great to say about the whole process, except for one lady from the office who promised me that she would follow up with the purchasing department. She promised that the day before and called me the day after. Then she called me back again and said that it was ready and that they could schedule it the next day. I could not speak enough of how I appreciated her going above and beyond to help me with that after I shared with her my dilemma. But other than that, everything else was a terrible experience.

    I have had the 2-10 policy for less than six months and this is my first experience with a home warranty so I was very leery. The dryer went out so I called, and they handled the claim much better than I expected. They had somebody out the next day, and the serviceman was really nice. He ordered a part and then came back within four days, but the part still didn't do it. He let us know that it was the motor and so 2-10 called me and said it would take maybe two or three days as they would investigate to see if they could get a motor.

    Truly, within 3 days, I got an email from them first thing in the morning saying that a part couldn't be found, and did I wanna check to buy a new dryer or did I want to go through one of their companies. It was done very well and I was shocked. I didn't know what to expect as I've never done this before. So, everything was great. Having the home warranty is a wonderful idea and I already got my niece to do it. I wouldn't have recommended them without having knowledge of how they really worked, and they were awesome.

    2-10 Warranty purchased June 2019. Home is in Tucson - furnace has not been used until Dec 2019. It has a bad bearing in the fan motor that is so loud it wakes you up. 2-10 declined as it is not "broken". We have to wait until the fan quits completely, which may be next winter when the warranty has expired. Be careful - they have a very aggressive view of what "broken" means.

    I bought the house in September and the previous owner purchased 2-10 because the water heater was about 15 years old. Then when we moved in in December, the heat wasn’t working. I called 2-10 and they sent somebody out, which took a little bit. There was an issue with the heat exchange and they had to order a part. But they got the wrong part. Finally, when they got the right part, it was put in.

    One morning, I woke up and there was water all over my garage and the hot water wasn’t working. I submitted the claim through the web page and I spoke to someone online. With the way the water heater was set up, the contractor said he couldn't replace it with the existing brands. It needed a power vent to be put outside and with the way it was venting, it would go up 45-degree angle, go over 10 feet, 45-degree angle, and then go up to the garage through the roof. He can’t put another one back like that. It was gonna cost me extra money anyway so I told 2-10 to just cash me out. They gave me more than 600 and I had a tankless water heater installed.

    They sent somebody out, but he didn’t wanna install what was already there and he couldn't do it because it was a code violation. Moreover, he wasn’t very familiar with tankless. And if I was going to have to upgrade, I was gonna go tankless. I called my own contractor and they came out and installed it. I think 2-10 did a fairly decent job and they were very responsive. But sometimes, the miscommunication between the contractors and myself could be more efficient. All in all, 2-10 has been solid for the couple of months I’ve had them.

    It took a day for the technician to come after I called 2-10 to submit my claim for the AC unit. He was on time and professional but not knowledgeable. We didn’t feel like he knew what the problem was and he didn’t. He was the nicest guy ever but I had to call 2-10 and ask for a second one. They repaired the AC unit with a new part in the system and it wasn't working okay at first.

    Somebody forgot to put a coupling on the pipes and it leaked down through my ceiling, through my walls and on to the floor in my bedroom. My door frame and my ceiling were damaged as well as the carpet. 2-10 doesn’t handle any ancillary damage from the repair itself. So, they did not send a contractor out to fix the walls. If your air conditioner ruins the walls, it doesn’t cover that. I’m gonna pay someone to come and fix it, so it’s gonna come out of my own pocket. 2-10 needs to sharpen up some of their processes. This air conditioner should’ve been replaced but they would do anything not to replace it.

    I have bought an older home, and the previous owners had the 2-10 warranty already on it. I've been doing most of my claims online and at first, the website was a little confusing because I wasn't sure with the breakdown of everything. But after that first time I did it, it was really easy. Usually, within 24 hours, I receive an email back that says that 2-10 has contacted a contractor and that they should be calling to make an appointment with me. Because I have an older home, some of the appliances in it are close to 20 years old. I have had a couple of different incidences since I've been under warranty, and I have had some great experiences with some and then some I have not. With our heating and air, the assigned contractor called me within 24 hours and said, "We will be there. We can even get you in today." They were fast and very efficient. Also, the first couple of people that were sent when our washing machine went out were very good.

    There was one company that was supposed to come out and look at an issue, but they never contacted me. I called and I also left them messages, but they never returned the call. I've only had that one experience, but 2-10 was very helpful when I called back in. They were very apologetic and said that they put that in the file and made a note for that contractor that they did not respond to my call. And so, I'm hoping that they don't send them to someone else and they have to go through the same problem I did. So, I have enjoyed my experience with 2-10. They're well worth it, especially in my case with an older home, older appliances, and older things where one knows that there's probably gonna be something going on.

    My claim regarding the refrigerator was horrible. This ordeal started on the 20th of December, and my washer was not replaced until into January. No one came out for the first two weeks. And then, it was suggested by customer service that I find my own person. I had no idea that dispatch had to make that authorization, and that the individual that suggested it did not have the authorization to suggest that to me.

    It was a mess. It took almost 30 days to get a refrigerator. I was out the entire holiday, both Christmas and New Year. I understand that it was holidays. I spoke with one gentleman and I explained to him that I didn't know the rules. When he said that I told them I wanted to go out of network, I said no and that it was suggested to me. He said he had to go by what was written. I told him no and to go above and beyond in their customer service and help me. But he refused. He just kept pressing that it was me and that I would not get my full refund. I had 2-10 for over six months at that point and I paid for the entire year in advance.     2-10's policy is that they order their own parts regardless of what the situation is, regardless if it’s wintertime in the Midwest and you have kids in the house that have to take showers and baths. They don’t care. They told me I could do it on my own, but they didn’t give me any guarantee that the water heater I picked would be reimbursed for the full amount that I paid for it. I had to fuss and put comments online before 2-10 told me that they were gonna expedite the situation. But it wasn’t really expedited. It still took a week from the time when we contacted them to the time it got fixed. I had to boil water to take a shower. My kids had to go to my mother-in-law’s house to take a shower. It was horrible.

    I contacted them every single day and they said that they were ordering it and when they heard back from the people they order from, we would contact the plumber and ship it out to the plumbers. The plumbers could have picked up a water heater from somewhere and gotten it confirmed with 2-10. My water heater could have been done that same day within three hours and I would have been thoroughly satisfied with 2-10. It only took the plumbers about an hour and 45 minutes to remove the old one, replaced with a new one. But I had to pay around $700 because 2-10 said that it needed upgraded parts, and that was not covered under the warranty.

    Also, a month prior, I had a water pipe burst in the yard, which leaked into the home and they wouldn’t cover that. I had to pay $3,500 out of pocket. Then right after that, the dishwasher and the stove needed to be worked on. They worked on the stove. The dishwasher was original to the house and was in horrible condition. The door and parts on the inside were broken. However, they just replaced a few parts and wouldn’t replace the door. We still can’t use the dishwasher, but I paid the $100 deductible. I will absolutely not, by any means, shape, or form, be getting 2-10 again when this thing ends.

    We had Prillaman HVAC come out twice to fix our heater. The first time, they did the furnace replacement and hooked up the thermostat. They were very professional and did a good job. Unfortunately, they forgot to program the board with the new furnace to work with my air conditioner. I found that out because it was January and it as 60 degrees outside. I had a bunch of people come over and we needed to run the AC in January, which doesn't often happen. So we had to put in the extra claim to get them to come back down and finish programming the board. The technician came out and resolved the issue within an hour and a half.

    It's my first year having 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty since I've bought the house back in February and their service has been fine. They set up the service with Prillaman HVAC initially. Then it took a little bit extra just to go back to 2-10 and then have them contact Prillaman and get them to come out again. That could have been a little more straightforward.     Submitting claims with 2-10 is simple and straightforward. However, my water heater claim wasn’t a great experience, mainly because they only have one plumber in their network. Plumb Craft Services was the only company that could come out and with them being the only ones, they were not available for 48 hours. The water heater basically blew out in the back and my basement had flooded. I had to get Servpro in and do a lot of work on my home, which had more of a delay to the process. We didn’t have hot water for a few days and I had to shower at the gym and at work. It was painful just because of the one plumber. And when I tried to reach out to other plumbers that were outside of the network, 2-10 wouldn’t approve the amounts that they were charging because they were outside of the network. Other than that, 2-10 has been helpful. When we needed it, it has worked out.

    2-10's website is easy to use and having their warranty is straightforward. I like that online, I can see the status of my claim and where it's at. We had a home warranty with another house that we had bought a while back and we always had to call in. For my furnace claim, I was able to put my claim at 6:00 AM instead of waiting till 8:00 when someone wakes up. But then, with every claim I've put in, the people they contract out ask if they could come in three or four days. If I called somebody on my own, they would tell me that they could be out the same day. With 2-10 it takes longer for a job to get completed.

    I woke up one morning and my heating system wasn't working. It smelled like burning plastic. I put a call in right away to 2-10 and their contractor came relatively quickly. But then, he had to order a part. That person wasn't the best communicator so days went by and I didn't hear from him about the part. All in all, the whole repair ended up taking a week to get my system back and running. Still, one 2-10 customer service rep followed up and let us know when everything was good to go.

    A supervisor came first, looked at the situation and said the faucets were leaking, and that’s why I didn’t have any water coming out of them. Both of them needed to be replaced, so he was going to send contractors out to do it. One person came and he was very late, and he didn’t call me. I had to call them and say, “Where are you?” And he didn’t come for hours after he was supposed to. He also seemed sort of odd. His eyes were slightly bloodshot. He was polite, but he muttered to himself in the bathroom. He had to go back to Converse for a job, and I said, “That’s a long way to come.” That was apparently where he had to come from to get here. He remarked that it wasn’t the best plan for him to come here and then go back during traffic, ‘cause it was around 6:00 at night.

    I checked the two sinks after he left, and the stoppers could not be pulled up or pushed down. One worked for a time in one of the bathrooms, and the other one never worked. So, I called the tech's number and because he was so late, I had to take a shower and get ready to go to my student as fast as I could. When I was in the shower, the doorbell rang. He called and said, “I’m at your door,” which was a little strange when I thought he was on his way to Converse. I wasn’t gonna let him in because I was already freaked by it. It didn’t feel right to me at all. He said, “How about tomorrow?” which was Saturday, and I said I had students all day. I wanted to wait until Monday, until I could call the office because I was already not comfortable.

    He called Monday and by this time, I was definitely not gonna let him in. So I called the property managers and they did whatever they did, and then two other plumbers came. They took the faucets out and eventually put in two new ones. According to them, the initial tech did something wrong on one of the faucets so they adjusted it. I don’t know what the problem was, why two faucets couldn’t just be put in. It was fraught with little problems. I had to oversee them, which I didn’t want to have to do and I’m not used to that.

    I’ve had two claims where one went well and the other one did not. The one with the HVAC system went fine while the hot water heater was not so good. The person that they tried to put me in contact with was an hour away from here. And it was gonna be several weeks before they could do anything with it, which obviously doesn’t work when you don’t have any water. So, they escalated it to emergency so that I could use someone locally, which obviously makes more sense than somebody an hour away.

    When I did that, the guy gave me a break and only charged me $200 labor for the whole project. That’s significantly lower than what they would have charged in-service. The hot water heater itself costs around $500, so the total bill was 700. A normal plumber would have charged at least 1,500. But they only covered a very small portion of that deal when I tried to save them money. They only wanted to reimburse $355 out of that. I had my agent call and complain to get an extra $100 back out of it, and I ended up still paying a $100 deposit and $100 out of my own pocket. I’m replacing that brand-new hot water heater tomorrow. It didn’t work.

    The water heater went out and it leaked from the second floor down to the first floor so there were damages on that part. I also filed through 2-10 some busted pipes, but it was really simple. The only part that was frustrating was it took a while to get the parts approved and shipped. But I understand they have processes and certain type of inventory for replacement. Other than that, the experience was great. It took about a week for the parts to be approved and shipped. The company that 2-10 went with, All American Plumbing, was extremely professional and did great work. They were in and out in an hour and all their stuff was backed for 60 or 90 days. If anything would happen, they’d come out and repair everything for free or replace it, so they were extremely professional. I loved the people that I worked with online. 2-10 made it really easy, and they kept me in touch with the process and how things were going.

    I've had 2-10 coverage since I bought the house in December of 2018. And about two weeks before it ran out, I went ahead and renewed it because I like the coverage that I’ve had the year prior. The contractors that they used were personable. They shut me straight in regards to All American Plumbing. Initially, I was thinking about doing a tankless water heater for the upstairs, just doing a buyout. Because typically a water heater needed to go in the garage or in the basement to where if it does go out, it won’t leak through multiple levels. I talked to the guy and he gave me the pros and cons of everything instead of me wasting my money finding out on the back-end. And he was very upfront with it. Even the workers, just simply coming out and assessing the damage, they don’t waste my time and everybody else’s time in regards to trying to do the repairs if they don’t have the stuff for us.

    All in all for the bad bathroom, whenever those pipes went, it took the contractor 30 minutes, and then the next day to have somebody come and repair the wall. And with the water heater, it took him only an hour. They were professional. Everything was cleaned up afterwards. The only thing I didn’t like is in regards to the water heater. When they came to repair the bathroom pipes, based on how the contract stuff works, they couldn’t remove the water heater and then they came back and put the new water in. I wanted to do that because the water heater, when it was busted, the carpet was wet, the subfloor was wet and the ceiling was wet all the way into the bottom bedroom. So, that water sitting for a long time causes molds and that’s just more money coming out of my pocket to replace that. The warranty covers if these major systems go out, but it doesn’t cover the home repairs for damages caused other than that.

    The All American contractors were professional, but they were like, “Hey, this is what 2-10 said. We’re not gonna go against it.” So, I just removed it myself so I could work on the damages that it did cause and then they came in afterwards to do everything else. But in regards to that, it’s not 2-10’s problem. The water heater was the problem. I know there’s a certain process with everything, but the longer that that sits, the longer that mold would have time to grow and more cost that would come out of my pocket trying to repair that. For what I pay for, it’s a big risk just like any insurance company. Even if nothing happens, I like just having that peace of mind. But so far, I got very professional service from them.

    I call 2-10 when I submit a claim, so it's easy. I talk to one of the customer service reps and go through what happened. I had a unique experience in my claim with my front-end loader Whirlpool washer. The boards that control it, its computer circuit, had burned up. The washer was not gonna run anymore and it was gonna be $600 to $800 to replace those two boards, so it was better to go buy a new washing machine. This happened to me on a weekend, and I didn't realize that 2-10 covered my washing machine. I had already called my service in the area we live and that I didn't know whether 2-10 uses them or not. They came out and did their work. They were very good.

    Then I contacted 2-10 by email and they sent me some information to complete. I provided the estimates and the repair information and what the estimate was if we were to repair the existing washer from the service that we used. All was done by email and it was smooth. They were quick to respond and very flexible. I got the check within 10 days, so 2-10 did a good job. I thought I was gonna have to fight through it so I was surprised it was good as it was. Also, my agent with 2-10 was very helpful.

    We use our own out-of-network contractor, and that works out fine with 2-10. We get a quote from the contractor and then he sends over the information. We call 2-10 and give them the information that he quoted us, exactly what was wrong with it and the parts and whatever is needed. And then they will let us know what they're gonna pay towards that and the maximum of a certain amount, and then the different claim number once we call in with the information and they approve it. And then, we go ahead and let him do the work after that. Our AC claim went well. And then they reimbursed us for a maximum amount. Our contractor charged us more, which was fine because we knew him and we just wanted to go with somebody that we knew. We've got tons of AC people in Florida and half of them probably are okay and the other half aren't. And I've heard horror stories so we just knew that this was a good one and we wanted to go with him.

    For us, we probably would have gone with one of 2-10's suppliers had we just paid our out of pocket expense which was the service call and then 2-10 pays directly to them. That would have been more ideal instead of us coming up-front with $1,000 and then waiting to be reimbursed. For instance, we're having a roof replaced on our house right now and it's an insurance claim from the storm we had. And they paid the roofing company directly and all we had to pay was our deductible. That was still $1,000, but we didn't have to come up with $15,000. They pay them directly because it's their contractor and they're working with them just like 2-10 has their own contractors and work with them. It would have been nice for 2-10 to pay them rather than us being reimbursed. That would be the only thing I think that would've made it a much better experience. Other than that, everything went well.

    I had to file a claim and had a service tech come out and look, at which time the service tech said the refrigerator was not fixable. He turned in the work order same day. The lady contacted me saying that I had two options once I received. One, I can wait for a replacement refrigerator or two, the option where whatever value the refrigerator is at, I’d take the check and purchase a new one. I then told her that I would take option two because it was right before Christmas and I couldn’t wait the three to five business days. So I went and purchased a refrigerator at that time. I just waited for the check to come in and I applied that towards my credit card.

    The three to five business days and then the seven to ten business days to receive the money is a little slow in today’s technology because once I purchased the refrigerator, I had to have the money quick. When it goes out, your refrigerator is one of those that you really can’t live without. It takes way too long to get a replacement or the money to purchase a replacement. But other than that, when I had questions, 2-10 was very diligent to make sure I understood when I called about my roof leak, because it was not included. Every time I’ve talked to them, they were very, very helpful.

    This is my first house purchase. I had a water leak in the roof but the roof wasn’t covered for some reason. And that was neither here nor there. A lot of it was a learning curve for me to realize that there are certain things you need to make sure are covered under the home warranty. Sit down with the warranty policy. Read it. If you have questions, ask. You really need to understand how all of it works.

    My friend told me about 2-10. I called in my claim the first time, and then did it online the last couple of times. The website is easy to use and then they just say that they will call, and will email later whenever the contractor called back. Sometimes they call call in one or two days, but I have a couple of times that it took three or four days, and I have to call 2-10 back and they change me to another contractor because sometimes they do not call.

    Other than that, the contractors do a pretty good job. It's clear how much we actually pay before they come out. Sometimes, a lot of services are different. You have to pay extra. This is like, "Okay, you have to pay 100 or 200" before they would come out and that's just how it is. Also, they're pretty professional. I like it. Some parts of my heating system were broken. 2-10 said that they cover some of it and some they do not, but I understand that some of it is too expensive. We have to pay for it and that's just how it works.

    We submitted a claim to 2-10 because the electric heating system was making a whole lot of noise outside and come to find out that the compressor was going out on it. The first time the technicians came out, they brought the wrong part. So, they had to reschedule it and bring the right part out. That was a recall, so it took them approximately three times to get it right. It took them about 30 days to get it straight. But so far, so good. They replaced the compressor and everything's working fine now.

    My claim regarding the electric heating system went really well. The whole thing was done in a pretty expeditious manner between us coordinating with 2-10 and the contractor to get the job done. The contractor did a pretty good job. One piece of criticism I would level is just in coordinating to get them over here. We ran into some difficulty in communicating with them. There was a couple of times where we kinda had to bounce back and forth with actually getting a service tech out to do the job. Rather than reaching us through phone, they gave us a window one day. I think it was between 2:00 and 6:00.

    2 o'clock rolled around but we had not heard anything. Just before 6:00pm, the backside of that window, we still didn't get a phone call, but my wife got an email that said that the tech wouldn't arrive. If Low Country could do a better job at interfacing with their customers or communicating with them, I think that would go a long way. That was one of our frustrations. But through using the home warranty, we've saved a lot of money. It paid for itself pretty quickly.

    We just got this warranty, and didn't look at all of the fine print. Our garage door wasn't opening or closing and to get it fixed wasn't covered at all. In looking more in depth, I thought we had gotten a warranty for the house structurally but it is just for the appliances.     We recently moved in to our home and six weeks later, our gas hot water heater started to leak. Definitely not what we were expecting, but were so happy our home came with a home warranty built in to the deal. We called the warranty company to send out a technician from a local, 3rd party company. They came the next available day (we called on a Tuesday evening, the tech was out Thursday morning). They sent their quote to 2-10, and 2-10 rejected it under the pretense that "they could do it for less" if they ordered the parts themselves, and will only reimburse half the cost. It is the middle of January and they want us to wait over a week for a new hot water heater that they could get for cheaper, versus a 2-day wait if the contractor orders the water heater.

    We used THEIR services and company of their choosing, yet that isn't "good enough" for them and they think they know better. If that was how this works, why bother even sending the tech out? They are expecting us to take cold showers, not do dishes, not do laundry, for over a week, in the middle of winter. I'm sure they wouldn't reimburse us for the gas to travel to family members' homes for showers, gas/electric bill to heat water to do dishes, money for laundromat, etc. Additionally, there has been extremely poor communication between them and the contractor. We have had to deal with both parties extensively, even though they advertise that they take care of it all. That definitely is not our experience. Overall, extremely dissatisfied, definitely not putting our minds at ease.

    I’ve had my policy with 2-10 for two and a half years now. And I keep on renewing because, so far, the service has been good. I haven’t been disappointed. When I had a claim for my washer, I was satisfied with the way they handled that. My washer wasn't working and they sent out a contractor to come out. I only have one slight issue. I did the buyout option and I feel like I could’ve gotten more compensation for my washer. As far as the 498, I feel like it could’ve been at least $100 more.

    Other than that, 2-10's customer service was not bad. I was able to explain everything and get my point across with my situation. I definitely feel like I could keep the company because as far as the customer service, I was very happy with it. I also feel as if the contractors worked with me. They've done a good job so far. I have told everyone that I referred that 2-10 is a good company. I have referred 2-10 to people who are now using them.

    I’ve renewed with 2-10 multiple times. The most recent was in June or July. I prefer to do my claims over the phone. Their customer service is okay. But I’m still waiting on an answer on one of my claims. It was the holiday season so I just have to be patient. When I had an issue with my refrigerator's ice maker, 2-10 sent out a contractor. The contractor looked at it, agreed that it was a problem, and submitted it to 2-10. I was told that the parts weren’t available to repair that so they offered me a buyout option or they would offer what would be an equivalent amount to repair the unit. Because my refrigerator is over 12 or 13 years old, it didn't make too much sense to put in that much money into repairing it. I understand that’s the policy, but unfortunately, it’s gonna cost me a whole lot more to replace one, which is what we’re gonna probably end up doing.

    It is always painful to deal with home warranties or insurance. It’s never easy. You kinda have to go through the whole 50 yards. There's also the waiting part and they only come with this part or they don’t cover this part and they need to verify something. If someone had a newer home, they wouldn't have to worry too much about it. I would say, “Skip the hassle.”

We had a claim for the AC and the first time we called, they sent Superior Heating & Cooling out. Their company is garbage and their techs were rude. But this last experience was good. It was for the electric heating system and the tech was good. We liked the company and all that. The tech figured out what it was and they ordered the part. The part came in a lot faster than we thought and he came out right away, put it in, and got it working. Everything’s good so far. Each time we call, if we gotta make the call, 2-10 has been on time and got us what we needed.

    The heat pump would just shut off overnight. I would wake up and the house was cold, and I couldn’t get it restarted. I called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty about it. It was an extended claim, but I called the initial time it happened. My experience in submitting a claim to them was good because it was just done online and automatically, they sent it to a contractor who scheduled it right away.

    The contractors that came out serviced the house before, and they were very good at that. But they replaced a few items that they thought was the issue, and so they had it working temporarily. This process went on for a month. They would get it working, they would leave, and a couple of days later, it would go out again. They would come out and fix it and do something, but they couldn’t solve the real problem. So, I finally requested a second contractor to come out and they replaced a different part, and it’s been working since. It took two different contractors and about six visits though.

    Luckily, the weather was unseasonably warm. It was cold, but it wasn’t super cold. But 2-10 was amazing because it was one claim and I kept telling them, “This is the same problem. You guys haven’t fixed it.” So, they didn’t require me to have a second fee to pay or a new claim. They just sent out everything and they approved everything that the contractors requested.

    I didn’t like the first contractor that they sent me because I couldn’t Google that person and they wouldn’t call me back. Usually, the contractors are very responsive. I figured that was an overwhelmed one-person show. And I had already been dealing with this for three weeks. So, I called 2-10 back, said I’d like another option and they rescheduled it with someone else. They did a great job because they followed up with me after every claim. Someone called me and said, “Hey, this is the status. This is what we’re doing.” I didn’t expect that, and so I did appreciate that.

    I've called 2-10 in on several jobs and the only problem I ever had with them was about 3 years ago when we had a sewer line replaced. The people who did it failed to properly insert the end of the sewer line from our house into the city sewer line. It was done real shabbily and eventually, after 2 years, roots grew into it and we had to have Roto-Rooter come in and clean the mess up. It cost us like $3,800. Also, it was the day before Thanksgiving and we had sewage flowing out into our backyard. We have 3 dogs so I needed something done right away and they couldn't send us anybody. Nobody that they recommended was gonna be able to come until after Thanksgiving.

    I called Roto-Rooter thinking that it was just a stoppage. 2-10 sent me an email and after I got it, I was thinking that on Friday when Roto-Rooter's gonna come and dig up part of my backyard and replace the pipe, maybe I should call them and double-check everything out. So, when Roto-Rooter came over and the man was in my front yard, getting ready to do the job, I gave 2-10 a call and told the rep that I had Roto-Rooter here and I was gonna have them run a snake. I said, "I want to double-check what I got on my email, that it's okay for Roto-Rooter to come in and do this and blah, blah, blah." And the girl said, "Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah." But at no time did she ever say, "But."

    There was a serious breakdown in communications because I spoke with 2 or 3 girls and not one of them told me how much I was gonna lose by going outside of the network. It was a $3,200 or a $3,300 job and I got reimbursed $61 because I went out of network. I talked to 2-10 and said, "But nobody told me." They even talked to the representative from Roto-Rooter. They all told me that I was going out of network and I said, "Yeah. Well, I've got sewage flowing out in my backyard and I don't want it going on like this for 3 or 4 days." They possibly had some different people on the line being it the day before Thanksgiving, and then Roto-Rooter came back the day after Thanksgiving and they still spoke with somebody. While the job is already done and Roto-Rooter did the most excellent job I could have hoped for, the lack of communication over that job left me a little sour.

    I had a bad experience with communicating but it might have possibly been some poorly trained people that were running the holiday shift.     The washer needed to be fixed and I had to wait a little bit for someone to come in. We couldn’t find a contractor in my area in my zip code. And finally, we got somebody, but it was out of their control. We found out, we have to get a part, and that part is gonna take about two weeks to get in. And they offered me, “This is what it's gonna cost to fix the washer. If you want the money, go buy a new one.” And that’s what I did. I took the offer and I went and bought a new one.

    At first, when I had a problem with the AC, 2-10 took care of it in a timely manner and fixed it. So, I stayed with them because they keep their words. Now, when they change their mind, I’ll go somewhere else. But I’m too busy to work in the house so I have to have insurance. But my experience with them has been very good and their customer service is okay.

    With the current homeowners, there were some problems with the claim and there had to be some manual things done at 2-10. I did most of the work with it and I went through the online process. It started out on the seller’s side as it was a seller’s coverage, which defaulted for the seller because they were going to offer it to the buyer, and so it stood out there and ended there as the seller dealt with that. So, the claim was filed and I got a call from Neighborhood Plumbers, which is the contractor assigned. He went out and evaluated that it needs to be a new one, dealt with all of that and then it was put in. It was absolutely great.

    2-10's service is prompt. It saves me a ton of money most of the time. But when a major appliance goes out, they usually have a limit of what they’ll pay towards the replacement. For instance, I just had a pool heater put in and they only gave me $1,000, and the whole thing cost $3,000. And when the refrigerator went out they came and fixed it about a dozen times, and then they said, “We’ll give you 100 bucks for your old refrigerator if you buy a new one.” But they came out and fixed it. I have a hot water issue now, and I’m waiting for somebody to call me and come by. It’s probably one of the two elements of that, because the heater is not as hot as it should be. But they seem to be responsive. Usually, I get a call within the same day. The contractor comes out within one or two days.

    2-10 was relatively quick in getting someone out to fix our electric heating system. It took them about four days. The contractor worked quickly and quietly. The heater is more than 20 years old and this is the third time that it has gone out. It clearly needs to be replaced, but they are just gonna keep putting Band-Aids on things, which is a bit disheartening. It would be nice if they would just call a spade a spade and replace the whole unit. But for now, we have heat.

    I came home one day and the hot water tank was no longer working. It was leaking. I found the paperwork of the warranty, got online, filled out the forms, and got a phone call within half an hour. Somebody came out, took a quick look at it and said they would be back in another day or so to get the new one installed. I talked to the tech on a Monday, and they were back out on a Wednesday. They put in a new hot water tank, and everything is working fine.

    The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the website way of doing things instead of actually picking up the phone and calling somebody and telling them what's going on and giving them the information and them forwarding it on. I found the online claims submission a little frustrating and somewhat confusing. It would've been nicer to pick up the phone because there are different terms for different things.     The furnace was not coming on and it’s still not working. I submitted the claim to 2-10 in November and the same contractor has been out several times. This will be their fourth. They’ve replaced the thermostat and they think they've found the issue each time, but it hasn't been the issue. The furnace would start working and then, it would stop. Then, it would start back working and then it would stop. It was out yesterday morning when we woke up. There was no heat all day yesterday and there was none today. I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow from 11:00 to 2:00 and hopefully, they'll be able to figure out this time.

    I had one claim that I submitted and it was extremely frustrating. My heater went out and we were getting ready to have freezing temperatures. I was also getting ready in a week to leave for Florida for the holidays. So, everything seemed to culminate and come to this horrible situation. When I called on Saturday, they didn't give me the right information regarding kind of really what was the expectation if I were to go out of their network. The coverage that they provided for me to use someone that I trusted versus someone that they just got was very nominal.

    It was kind of a back and forth that even though I called on Saturday and I had no heat through the weekend, I still had to wait until Monday to call back and file a claim and have their representative come out. So, there really wasn't a lot of active assistance with the situation for me to make sure that I got heat. I ended up going outside paying someone. He identified additional problems that were wrong relating to the entire system and 2-10 said they won't cover it. So, I just agreed to settle because it was very frustrating going back and forth with them on what was needed and why it was needed. They were not very clear as to the amount of information that they were gonna provide. I'm dissatisfied and I would not renew the warranty with them.

    The issue was escalated. The person it was escalated to was supposed to contact the out-of-network person. The level of communication was nominal. Understandably, they have a script and they have certain things that they have to go through, but I did not find the escalation moving along, who might be needed for me to get heat. I have animals in my house. I have my adult daughter who was gonna be staying behind, and she doesn't know anything about the heat or how to work any of this stuff or what to do if it goes wrong. I needed to take care of it before I left. The person I spoke with on Saturday was very friendly and helped where she could. I found the person that it was escalated to to be very snippy and snotty about the whole situation. I was promised that someone would get back to me. I had to call three times to get an answer as to where things stood and what was going on, and that was the escalation department.

    I bought a condo and the warranty was a gift from my uncle. I had a leak on the gas water heater. Whenever I turned it on, I was smelling gas in the house. I went online and clicked clearly what I could figure out and was told the contractor would be out as soon as possible. The claim took about three weeks. The first contractor that 2-10 sent me didn’t work on my type of water heater. So, I had to get a second one. But then the second one was no longer working with 2-10. And then the third one finally came out, and then I had to wait a week and a half for 2-10 to deliver the water heater. I had to get a new unit.

    I expected it to be done quicker, but the contractors and everybody were easy to talk to. Also, I have a little problem with the unit, but it’s not too bad. Regular water is fine, but when I use my dishwasher or washing machine, it seems like the hot water tank fills up the pan outside of it, like it’s leaking. I called the contractor back and they were supposed to come out and look at it again.

    We’ve submitted three claims so far and I’ve been unsatisfied with all three of them. The first claim was with the refrigerator turning on and off, and it took forever to get a contractor out here. The contractor never called us. I would call back and 2-10 would get another contractor, but they wouldn’t call. And then I have to call back, and we would have to give a 24-hour availability for them to call us back. Eventually, 2-10 got somebody out there. But the refrigerator started going out again, so we called 2-10. It took a while to get the contractor.

    The contractor was Sears this time. While we were on the phone, 2-10 would have to call Sears and make an appointment with us on the phone. But now we’re going to have to do another claim because they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It’s one of those things where when they show up, it’s working, so then they have nothing to troubleshoot. So we’re gonna have to do another claim for the refrigerator because it went out again, on and off.

    We put in a claim for a water heater at my mom’s home. She’s 87 with dementia, and she didn't have hot water for three weeks because we tried to get a contractor, but they didn't show up. Finally, someone came out and then they had to come back. They were gonna charge us extra because we didn't have the coverage. Even though we have the best coverage, it didn't cover certain things. So by the time we would authorize it, then I would have to get PO, and they would order parts, but it would be like a month for my mom to have hot water. I opted to get paid out and I got the water heater put in myself.

    We did another claim for the water heating system back in July, but 2-10 never got back to me. I called them back and asked what was going on with it, and they said they didn't have an expert in that area, so I could go ahead and find someone myself. It would have been nice if they told me that. We finally got somebody out here, and then now, I'm getting emails from 2-10 saying that they got a contractor.

    My parents have this annual service that comes in and they check the heating system. They said there were some things that could go wrong and they recommended to fix them. They took pictures and they said it would cost about $3,000. So I submitted that to 2-10, and they said they have someone who could represent. They sent somebody down, and they said everything was fine and that we just have a dirty filter. So, who do I believe? I'm leaning towards the 2-10 contractor is on it because he is a third party. He doesn’t work for them. He’d like to get paid. If there is something to be fixed, he would submit it and work on it.

    The contractors probably don’t get paid a lot, so they're probably not into it. A lot of them didn’t even answer the phone. They didn't even call back when I called them. There should be some type of sheet back to them saying they would be checking with their contractors, and making sure that they're still around and that they're answering calls. My parents purchased this warranty about 20 years ago when they bought a new house. It appears to me that 2-10 collects money for 20 years from us, no issues, and then as soon as the issues come up, it’s difficult to deal with their company to the point where we wanna quit.

    We’ve only been with 2-10 since the end of September because we just bought a new house. But we did have another house warrantied with them before in a different state. With this latest warranty, we have put in two different claims since the end of September. For the first claim, they sent someone out and what was wrong with our air conditioning wasn’t covered under our warranty. So we paid our service fee, and then we had to pay a company to still make the repairs. The second claim was covered. It was for our pool, so we chose to use our regular pool maintenance company because they’re the ones that will continue maintaining it after the repair is made, and there’s a process for that. We went though that process, and it was very relatively easy.

    When our pool company called 2-10, they told them all the repairs that needed to be made, and then 2-10's customer service rep told them everything was fully covered minus our $75 service fee. The rep called me and gave me the authorization number. I then called my pool company back and told them we were good to go and that everything was covered. As they were making the repair, they found one other thing that needed to be added to the repair. So they called 2-10 back to add it on there to get the authorization. It specifically states that you have to have the authorization before the work can be completed or it will not be covered. When they called back, they found out that we were only covered for $1,000 worth of repairs minus our $75 fee. So we were only covered for $925 worth of repairs, which helped but didn’t do a lot for the over $5,000-repair bill that I had paid out, because I was told everything was covered.

    I called 2-10 and put in a complaint. They told me that it is in their paperwork and it says $1,000. I replied that they sent me an email that said I was covered up to $1,000 unless I had an authorization code authorizing additional work. And that they called me with an authorization code. I specifically asked what was covered, what dollar amount was I covered up to, and I was told everything was covered that was requested. Their only response was that the customer service representative that I dealt with was a new person and that they need to re-train her. I told them that I understand that they might need to re-train their customer service representative, but they were basically telling me that I shouldn’t believe anything that their customer service representative tells me.

    I asked to speak to a manager and no managers work on the weekend, which I found was very interesting. They said that the call would have to be pulled and listened to. I asked them to go back and pull the phone call where the rep told my repairman that everything was covered and then she called me and told me everything was covered. They did pull their phone calls and they did hear that she told us everything was covered. But all they could say was they were going to re-train her.

    I called and checked on my request to talk to a manager, and then I talked to a manager at that time frame, and they refunded me my service fee. They gave me $75 more, but it is a bit frustrating when I was told over 5,000 was covered. So they covered what the original documentation said, but they did not follow through and cover what was guaranteed by their customer service rep on the phone.

    I had an air conditioner blower go down and put in a claim for it around the17th. It took a while for me to get the service guys out. I bounced around a couple of different companies and finally got somebody out around the 21st. After that, the blower motor was not approved by 2-10 because the price that the company was charging was higher than what they could get it for through their contracting, which I totally understand. That was when everything started getting bumpy though.

    Apparently, there was nobody to place the order for the motor due to the holiday. From what I was told, it wasn’t approved, which I don’t understand. I’ve already looked up where the Trane dealer is, which is 10 miles from my house. I said that I’ll order the motor and pick it up. I know that they would never do that, but they were not able to make a phone call to Trane. They were waiting for an email to come back from Trane and stated that was their policy. I said that if somebody was not answering an email, you pick up the phone and call them.

    Eventually, after a lot of hoops, they approved to pay the higher price and I got the blower motor put in on the morning of the 31st. The handling of the claim took too long. Meanwhile, I have people down for the holidays at my home for the first time and I couldn’t turn the heat on. I'm in Jacksonville, Florida and it gets down to the 40s at nighttime in January and December, which was exactly happened.

    The final young lady that I talked to said, “If you wanna go out, source it, and pay for it on your own, then we’ll reimburse you.” I thought that was a great consolation towards the end, but it was just too little too late. By that time, I had been in contact with the contractor that was out to repair. The repairman was very courteous and polite. And he called me directly to say that he got the motor and could get it in. In the meantime, I had called somebody else out to look at it and paid $89 for the service call out of pocket. I think this claim was a bump due to the holidays. However, if your business is up and running, it’s gotta be up and running. If not, notify everybody that you're closed and life goes on. Overall, 2-10's service has been fantastic and I’m trusting that things are gonna move forward just the way it did before.

    Our furnace was putting out Carbon Monoxide, and it was out the vent pipe outside. It smelled like gas all the way around. I filed a claim to 2-1. They sent somebody out and the guy said it was a secondary heat exchanger and some other parts. And he said all the internals of the furnace were bad and he would let the place know. Then I called them and asked what they were gonna do about it and they said that they were gonna look for the part. This was on a Tuesday, and I said, “Okay. Like you’re gonna let me know tomorrow.” And they were like, “Well, if you don’t hear anything back about Friday afternoon...” It was 20 degrees at night, and I told them I’d prefer to hear back sooner rather than later.

    I called them again and said if they were going to replace the part, if it would be quicker, I would pay the difference for a furnace. They didn’t know what the part’s gonna cost, but it’s gonna be like $200 in labor, and I kinda questioned how that would be possible when the guy that came out was 140 an hour. They gotta rebuild the entire furnace. And the rep said that it was only gonna be a $500 part, but the guy told me it was gonna be a couple of thousand dollar part. So, I was confused. Then they ordered the part and it was the wrong part. They eventually had to buy a new furnace. The process lasted a week.

    The first claim we had with 2-10 was after we moved in. The air conditioner quit working and they sent a technician out. The technician wrote it up and they denied my claim. I ended up having to pay out of pocket to buy a new air handler and then everything was working good. But then, I started having problems again with the AC and they sent a company out and they replaced the contact relay. They had to come back out again and replace the circuit board on the outside unit.

    Then, when it started getting cold, I had to call again because my heater wasn't working. I've had two different companies come out. One company was out there for a couple of days, trying to get it to work and they ended up replacing a couple of other PSV valves and a couple of other things. It quit again and the company that worked on it didn't wanna come out, which it was in between the holidays and stuff.

    This other company came out and all they did was put a little bit of Freon and some dye in it. When he was doing the sniffer on it, he found the leak, but that was it. They haven't came back out to find the leak or do the leak, but so far, everything is working. It's just gonna be a matter of time before the Freon leaks out and I'll have to call again because it's not getting repaired correctly. This AC situation's been a headache since I bought the house. And it's to the point now where I just wanna give up and pay Schneider or a major AC company to come in and fix this up right. They're just nickel-and-diming it and keep on replacing parts and it's pushing the problem from one area to another.

    The customer service has been pretty good. The only gripe I have about that is when you have to call going through the automated thing, there's not an option to talk to a sales rep right off the bat and the options that they have lead you in the wrong thing and then you gotta wait until all of it's all the way through. Then, when you finally get to a representative on the phone itself, you gotta explain that it's not a new claim. The automated part of it is kinda a little lacking, but other than that, the personnel as far as getting the work orders out and all that stuff is very good.

    For the most part, 2-10's response time has been very good. Submitting a claim has been pretty good too. I filed a claim when the heat wasn’t blowing as warm as necessary. The techs were very good. They repaired some type of valve that was bad and it was leaking Freon. They did not have the part on-hand, but they went to a local supply house and got it and came back the same day. They had to refill it up with Freon because they had to drain the line. So far, so good. My only concern is the unit that’s been repaired, in the two years, they’ve repaired it at least five times now. And because it’s a 2004 unit, I was hoping that it would be replaced by now, but they still continued to repair it.

    2-10 is a great warranty company. I filed a claim for my refrigerator when my freezer started melting, and everything in it started melting. I had a guy come out, and it wasn't all melted like it was the night before. However, he said that was an issue with the defroster. He replaced the defroster panel, which I guess is a common thing. But then a week after he replaced it, the same exact issue happened again. All the stuff started melting like my ice tray, all the ice melted, and a lot of the food started defrosting. And then we woke up the next morning and it's back to normal. Right now, my freezer is good. And the guy was very nice.

    The water heater was our first claim and it has been fixed properly. They got a permit and the city came out and inspected it. They said it was very good job, and everything has been working fine. The only issue that I had with the whole process was how much we ended up having to pay. 2-10 told us upfront that they don't pay for most of what we needed to have done, so that we were gonna have to pay it ourselves. This is the first time that we had heard about this because the Realtor that purchased the contract for us told us that everything is covered 100% and we just have to pay the $100 service charge.

    It is really wrong that they charge $500 and then don't cover anything. I understand that they paid for the hot water heater and the average labor to do it, but we ended up having to pay for some of the labor because they said it takes two guys to do a hot water heater. It should be standard that we shouldn't have to pay extra for labor. I don't know if that was just the contractor gouging us with fees. But I didn't know that we should have called 2-10 and we could have negotiated that. I had no idea because I didn't get any paperwork. All we got was a little three or four-page book that told us welcome to it.

    I called 2-10 today because my dishwasher is not working properly. The guy came tonight, so that was really quick. He thought he had it fixed when he left, but it's not fixed. So I called him back and asked if he could come back out. He said the only thing that was worrying him is the age of the dishwasher and he doesn't know if he can find parts for it. The lady I talked to today at 2-10 said that we have to get the Supreme package to get everything covered, which was what I thought we had since the Realtor told us that everything was covered except the $100. Since I don't have the Supreme package, I had to pay the $100 service charge, and I gotta pay for any parts to fix it, so basically, I'm paying for everything.

    I've been protected with 2-10 since I bought the house. I renewed it a couple of times, and then I stopped for a little while. At that point, everything was new in the house. After a couple of years, I decided to go back since I've had good experiences with them. I normally submit my claim online and entering the claim is painless. They always want the model number and the serial number, and that's not something that's really handy. So I end up having to dig through either paperwork or pull the appliance out or go searching for it. But once I get that information and enter it in, I get a quick response.

    In general, the contractors are okay. If I have a big complaint, it's the fact that if a part or something has to be replaced, it takes days. And what really irks me is that, they have a warehouse in Charlotte and they won't let me go get the part. It has to be shipped to the contractor, and then the contractor's gotta pick it up and bring it to my house. So that adds days.

    2-10 Home Buyers Warranty may wanna get a dispatch company where they can ship the parts directly to the homeowner or allow the homeowner to come in and pick up the part, something that will cut down the time. Because once the contractor identifies a part needs to be replaced, they have to contact the warranty company, the warranty company's gotta approve it, and then from there, they gotta get the part to the contractor. And I'm guessing that all the parts are always in stock at the warranty company, so they've gotta get them. Nonetheless, my overall experience has been very positive.

    There was a vendor that I used through 2-10 to have some maintenance done on my HVAC. When I called in, the rep told me that I had to go through a cycle and the contractor I would get was not gonna be the one I chose. I told him that shouldn't be the case. If there is a contractor that is already in their system and I've had maintenance with them, 2-10 should automatically call that contractor. This last time I submitted a claim, they used that company.     The first company that 2-10 sent here didn’t fix the water heater. They looked at it and then said they would get in contact with 2-10 and go from there. They told 2-10 they had to find a water heater. After they couldn’t find a water heater, the company said they would have to do too much work by putting in the water heater and putting in another pipe to have the water drain out. And they didn’t want to deal with it. So I had to find my own company. The other company said they didn’t have to do all that, and that they just had to put the water heater in. So they put the water heater in, and that was it. Overall, 2-10's service was really nice. They have nice people and they're good for a company.

    Currently, we have an issue with the amount it time from when we make a call to 2-10 for our claim until we hear somebody back that somebody will come out. It's very lengthy. Our washer wasn't working one time. The machine would start, go into a cycle then stop. We submitted a claim to 2-10 and their contractor diagnosed the issue as a bearing that was gone. They said that bearing affected the spinning which affected the amount of fluids going through the drain hose. The washer was giving an indication that it was having a suds overflow even though it really didn't have that. All of this was related to that bearing not spinning properly.

    For the tech 2-10 sent out, the problem wasn't a quick fix and he was here for a while. He had to replace several parts. He ordered something and then came back a couple of days later. I got authorization to do the job. That technician did fine. He was very personable, on time and called like he said before he came over. Since the repair, the washer has been working fine.

    I made a claim for my gas cooktop and 2-10 did great, but the people that delivered it were horrible. With the way my house is, it would either have to go over the kitchen counter or would have to come in through the garage. I was in the process of moving, so I had a bunch of boxes. When they wanted to come to the garage, since there were boxes there, they wouldn't give me three minutes to clear the path.

    We've had 2-10 Quite a few years and we’ve always been happy with their service. But the logistics company that was in charge of bringing the cooktop and hooking it up, the first one was horrible and I don’t like having those kinda people in my house. My wife was there when the second delivery people came. From what I gathered from her, my neighbor who is a jack-of-all-trades kinda thought they were ridiculous. They had some problem with hooking the cooktop up and they didn't do it. My neighbor said, “Forget it. I’ll do it for you,” and he did. We weren’t really happy with that experience.     Initially, I had a little hard time when I submitted a claim through 2-10. Hard time in the sense to send their technicians. Because the one they said that will be doing it, didn't have anybody who can come down and do it. It took three days to just find out that nobody is gonna show up. And it was a hot water heater, so I couldn't even bathe. So, that was the problem. Otherwise, it was good. I had to go with my own contractor and 2-10 took care of the invoice. They paid whatever my contractor charged. They were good with the customer service. But if they would provide the contractor or company's name, at least, so if they can't reach us out, we can reach them out and find out if they're gonna come or not, it could've been done quicker.

He said that he was going to look at the policy and gonna get back to it and he did. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the low coverage for the water damage. But whatever the policy was, that was what they did and I accepted. I also had a bit of an issue at the beginning. They assigned a plumber to the case, but the plumber never showed up. I was disappointed that they used a plumber who was not responsive. Other than that, they handled the claim properly.

    My latest claim with 2-10 was good, except for the fact that I didn’t know I was gonna pay an extra 315 dollars. They were supposed to let me know that I didn’t have the supreme. My water heater was out of code so the contractor had to upgrade it, which cost extra money. From what I was told by the renter, the contractor responded quickly, ordered the correct part and installed it professionally. 2-10's response on the weekends could be better though. They're closed unless it’s an emergency so even if we submit a ticket on Friday, it doesn't get looked at until at least Monday. I've had them since 2012 and I've used them to fix things. There has never been an issue except for this time. They're quick and most of the contractors they work with are friendly.

    The water heater wasn’t working properly. We didn’t have water on the house. So, we reported the problem and 2-10 texted a contractor. The contractor came, reviewed the thing and showed that it was broken. He recognized that he couldn’t fix the problem, and the water heater was really old. He decided to replace it. I think he called 2-10 and then 2-10 authorized it. Then the technician changed the water heater. It was pretty quick and the technician was excellent.

    We had another service with 2-10. But it wasn’t that good. We are having problems with the heating unit that is located outdoor our house. We noticed it was all frozen, and then we called 2-10. Somebody came and reviewed the unit. Apparently, they changed some sensor or part, and it started to work properly. But a couple of days later, there was a problem and it hasn’t been fix since December 17. There is some problem with the part and they are waiting for the replacement part. The problem has caused us considerable increase in our energy bill. The last two months, we are paying four times we previously paid for electricity -- our heating system is electric. And the energy company, which is Dominion, said that it is because of the problem that the heating unit has.

    I made a claim for reimbursement of the increase of our energy bill. We sent an email to 2-10 but we haven’t receive the answer yet. I can understand that for fixing some problems, it can take a little bit to order some part that is not here and you have to replace and see if it’s working. But I would like to see that it has been fixed. Other than that, I’m okay with the service, which is good.

    We weren’t satisfied with what we received as installation and I do not want RG Plumbing back in my home. I told 2-10 as much. I would rather have another plumbing company come out to look at the work that was done to make sure that we were not overcharged for the modifications and we do have the correct the hot water heater and the hot water heater settings in our home.

    What happened was that the water heater burst and since the plumber had been out there earlier that day, we just called him to come back. He was coming out that same night but he advised that we needed to call 2-10 Warranty to ensure that the order was placed on a new heater. So he was on his way out and we just contacted 2-10 and let them know that they were on their way to do the work. Otherwise, I'm comfortable with the website and I submit claims online.

    The lady from 2-10 said it would have to move to purchasing and she didn’t see that the order was placed in purchasing. So she transferred me to purchasing. Purchasing found the order and said that they were gonna notify the plumber contractor that it would be okay for them to go pick up the hot water heater. But then 2-10 Warranty called me back and told me there were going to be modifications. I did not understand what the modifications were gonna be because they were taking the same type of hot water heater and putting it in the place of the hot water heater. We weren’t increasing the size of the heater. But I needed that heater so I told the representative from 2-10 Warranty that I would go ahead and pay the additional $400 for whatever the modifications were.

    When the plumber got to the home to install the hot water heater, he told my husband that he had to pay another $100 service charge. But we had already been informed that this was on the same invoice. My husband had to call 2-10 Warranty because the gentleman was not gonna do the work. Then 2-10 Warranty had to call the plumber’s company to inform them that we were not going to have to pay another service charge. After the plumber realized we were not paying additional service charge, he went to his van, talked to his people and came back and said we were gonna have to do an additional $200 modification.

    It was as if they were trying bleed us to the point of starving. They adjusted for a new modification of $400 then he wanted a extra $100 service charge and when he realized he couldn’t get that, he said it was $200. I told the plumber I was not paying him an extra $200. But he said he won't put the pressure release valve on there and therefore, when we put our water on, we were gonna have the same problem because he had to modify that. It didn't make sense to me. So he got 2-10 Warranty on the phone and 2-10 sat there on speaker, negotiating between us and the plumber.

    The plumber said he had reduced his price by $100 and 2-10 said they would pay the $100 then we would pay an additional $100. I ended up paying that plumbing company $500 – well, $600 when you add the service charge – for my hot water heater to be installed along with what I pay 2-10 Warranty for a yearly service. The plumber knew exactly how much 2-10 Warranty would cover. They knew how much to increase the price so the cost would be on us. I felt like we were ripped off by the plumbing company because my husband watched that man install that hot water heater and no modification was done.

    They tried different ways too. We had to call them out a second time because our water pressure was still not where it should be. We went through 2-10 and the plumbing company came back out and increased it but it’s still not where it should be. I don’t know where the disfunction is in the hot water heater and why we don’t have the water pressure we had prior to the water heater going out. Someone from 2-10 also contacted my husband a day or so after the installation and they told my husband that the incorrect hot water heater had been installed at our property. They said they were sending RG Plumbing back out to put the correct one in but that never took place either.

    I’ve been with 2-10 since May of last year and mostly, the issues have been air conditioning and heating. I usually submit the claims online, but when I had the issue with one of the repair companies that was coming out, I called in and spoke to somebody. I let them know that we didn't want that company coming out again. 2-10 handled it well and they've been great. They covered the service fee because I had already paid three different times for that previous company to come out. They got a different company out that was great and got everything taken care of well and fast. When you do the request online to 2-10, they just assign somebody after you submit the claim. So, they should give the consumer the ability to choose who we want to come out. They usually don't like to use the company that came out after we complained because they have higher fees but they did the best job. 2-10 has been helpful for us and it’s worth it.

    2-10 needs to improve on their response. Once the contractor submits the feedback, it goes to their purchasing department and the purchasing department doesn't mind if the parts needed should be ordered through them or through the contractor. Though the contractor recommends replacement, they don't care. They said that it's repair first in spite of contractor's recommendations. My first claim is for my refrigerator that's out for the past 4 weeks and so it's still not yet closed. I don't know what the parts cost but I'm sure they must have paid easily about $800 for the two repairs. And whatever repairs done didn't go well. There was misdiagnosis, but probably not 2-10's mistake. I submitted the second work order on Christmas day and it was only yesterday that the contractor got the parts. 2-10's process is extremely convoluted.

    There was only one person I talked to who was very responsive, and his name is Roberto. Also, one positive comment is that I got a credit on the service fee for the work order because the refrigerator is out for so long. I had to go ahead and buy a temporary mini refrigerator. They asked for the receipt but I did not provide it yet because I misplaced it, but they already gave me the credit. Still, the whole experience has not been pleasant.

    The furnace issue took a little bit longer than I had hoped. It was really cold when that happened and I have a little one too so it was hugely inconvenient. It was over a week and we were sort of trying to stay with family and friends because the space heater just weren’t cutting it for a couple of the nights because they got too low. But beyond that the HVAC guy that came out, who was local, was helpful and did get it working again. It has been making some noise, which it really wasn’t making prior to, or at least, I didn’t notice until the heat went out. But it sounded okay last night, so hopefully all is good with it.

    There were some mixed signals however. I did get someone from 2-10 call me and let me know that they were going to replace the furnace, and that was on a Tuesday. The first notification that it wasn’t working was a Saturday. I eventually got hold of someone Monday. Tuesday, I got called, said they would replace it. And then by Wednesday late afternoon, I still hadn’t heard anything. The HVAC guy said he hadn’t heard anything. And then by Thursday, 2-10 was telling the contractor that they weren’t replacing it. They were just going to fix it with parts. So I was unhappy with that. Getting things expedited is important when I consider whether I want to keep the warranty company in the future. I want them to know that I expect something like a broken light or whatnot to take a little longer. But something like the heat, I would expect to be the quickest.

    We submit our claims with 2-10 online and we have no issues. Recently, they came out before Christmas for the dishwasher and it took them only a day or two. But they said they were gonna have to order a part and since then, we haven't heard from them. Then another part broke, so, we had another claim in. The dishwasher is running, but the door is not secure. So, it's running with no leaks, but it needs to be adjusted. Other than that, the guy who came out was pleasant. We've had him come previously for a washer and it was a similar thing where he came and said that he was gonna order a part, then we didn't hear anything until we called 2-10 again. Then he decided to come back out and that is not exactly responsive.

    I called in my first claim on the 1st of December for a heat pump. 2-10 has been fine. But the people they contracted with to fix the heat pump haven't fixed it yet. They have ordered the compressor twice and they said they were sent the wrong part both times. They just said when it comes, they'll bring it and put it in. We were blessed because our unit also uses natural gas. We've had heat. Starting tomorrow, it's going to be in high 70s five days so we won't have air. 2-10 has done their best to get it done. They just haven't been able to find the part.

    This is our second year with 2-10 and their customer service representatives have been generally positive. We’ve had a couple of situations that we haven't been too keen on because the response time hasn’t been quick enough.     My claim on my gas heating system went well. The rep I dealt with was straight. She was good and professional, and she listened. She answered rightfully when I was trying to explain to her what was going on because I was responding to a voicemail that I received yesterday. It has been hard to get through to them. So, I stood on there for over 25 minutes yesterday and nobody answered, so I hung up. And it was over 30 today when she finally picked up. I was explaining to her what had gone down. I was authorized to go outside the network because one person wasn’t available, and the other two were not accepting anything from 2-10 because they were so bagged up on the home stuff during the holidays.

    when I sent the second invoice in to be reimbursed, when I called back to see if they had it because I faxed it in and I emailed it in, they said it was going to take a while because 2-10 was backlogged. I’m assuming the call from yesterday, because of the way that the voicemail works, that they had got it, so I called back and I’m squared away. So, everything has been working out fine. However, my last two instances, I'd get something fixed and it would go right back wrong in a day or two. They, nevertheless, came back and fixed them.

    The previous owner of our house chose 2-10 for us and got us a year. I tried to call 2-10 Home Warranty a couple of times when I had a claim but I just got transferred and transferred, and I waited for a long time. Sometimes, even if they give me another number to a different department, I just keep calling. I found the website solution is much better. Everything is great. And the contractors all respond in time.

    When I made a claim for my washer, the process was not that hard but it was a bit slow because it was near Christmas and New Year. A lot of people don't work. 2-10's contractor came and he told me fixing the washer might take $600 to $700. He can make an estimate to the home warranty and the company will talk to us again. We didn't plan to fix the washer at all. The home warranty gave us extra coverage for all the appliances we got from the previous owner, which is great.

    If you only own a very small house and it doesn't have a lot of appliances or things you need to take care of, you probably don't need a home warranty. But if you have a pretty large property and a lot of parts you need to take care of, it's definitely needed. That's what I feel. It really depends on how many things you need to be covered. In our home, we have pool. We have a lot of new appliances and we have a lot of things to take care. That's why I think it's very important to have a home warranty.

    The water heater wasn’t getting any hot water past warming up. It ended up going on and when I looked at it, I can see a bit of rust in there. 2-10's claims process was extremely easy. I called in and chatted with someone and they were super responsive. They got back to me that day or the next morning. The people that they used were very knowledgeable and answered all the questions. The claim went a lot quicker than I thought. It was right around Christmas time too so I was trying to find a quicker way. They put in my claim and got to know who to reach out to. I tried calling them and I couldn't get a hold of them. I googled them and the reviews that came up were not the best. I reached back out to 2-10 and asked to have another provider and they gave me another one. I made sure that I was able to talk to the vendor, and they came out and did it right away. The vendor was spot-on. I was really impressed with how easy it was.

    I did pay them the $100 diagnostic fee, which I disagree completely to the point that I want to fight it. The guy said to me that 2-10 is basically sending somebody out to decipher the problem. In my opinion, I already knew exactly what it was. It was really simple. I went ahead and diagnosed it myself. So, to pay $100 for somebody to come out and do that seems stupid to me. And I told them right off the get-go, “This is all wrong.” It is very frustrating. But $100 for a water heater is not bad. Other than that, they were super easy to work with.

    My water heater broke one time and I put in a service request to 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. They sent a tech to check it out. Thereafter, I got a call from 2-10 and they said that they decided to replace my heater. At that point, I had already paid the $75 service fee and they were asking for $990 on top. It was $1,000 for a water heater that I could buy from Home Depot for 500 bucks. I had already paid them $607 for the annual too. I asked them to break down the $990 as it felt like scam stuff. I asked where the $990 came from and if they could do anything to reduce it as it was unreasonable, they said "That's it. Take it or leave it." They came up with all these things like gas line modification. I went to Home Depot and did things myself. There was no modification needed and I got hot water again the next day. It was a horrible experience with 2-10.

    I'm a little disappointed with my recent claim. I called in the work order on the 4th of December, and it was not finished until 3 January. And then several times I tried to get ahold of the contractor I would get voicemail, so I would have to leave a message or try to send a text. The company’s like 45 minutes away so I don’t know if that played a part in it too. They have to improve their customer service. Someone should be there to answer the phone. Even one time I had 2-10 on the phone and they tried to get ahold of the contractor, but they were unable to do so. They got the voicemail just like I normally would get the voicemail. But the first year I never had any problem with any contractor. I was pleased with every contractor that came out. This was the first time I ran into a contractor that I was not pleased with but I’m still pleased with 2-10.

    2-10 ended up replacing my water heater. I didn’t really have an issue with 2-10, it’s just the third-party company that they use. It was hard to get ahold of them. But when I finally got ahold of them they did come out and try to fix it. However, the guy turned off my gas, which caused me not to have heat for two days. I didn’t know what happened. I had to pay someone else to come out, because I thought something was wrong with my heat. And then I ended up finding out he never turned the gas back.

    2-10 told me they normally send someone back out but it was already too late because I have found someone to come and fix the problem. Normally when they send someone out it takes the person 24 to 48 hours to get back with you. At the time I had a four-month-old and my three-year-old and it was just too cold to wait 24 to 48 hours. Then they said it wasn’t a emergency. That was my other issue with them. Apparently emergency is different for them. Even if I have a kid it doesn’t matter. They said, “Everybody would say it’s an emergency.” I replied, “I get it, but some people do have infants.” And at the time my infant had just gotten out of the hospital for RSD and I can prove it. They have to be more proactive. I get that they have certain rules and stuff they have to abide by. But if I can provide that document of proof, then I don’t see why they wouldn’t work with me to try to get hot water in my house.

    I first had a friend of mine that came out and looked at the system before I called 2-10, just to see what was going on. Some licensed HVAC guy said, "This thing's got a crack in the heat exchanger. It needs to be replaced." So I called 2-10 and they said, "Have him give us a call or fill out some form." He's not an in-network provider, so it was gonna cost $2,000. They said, "We can use one of our in-network guys to come out." It took approximately three days to get that guy to even come out. He came out and said that it needs a part to fix it. The part was ordered through 2-10 and it took a week or so to come in.

    When it came in, the service guy came back out and it was the wrong part. I had to wait a day or two for 2-10 and the HVAC company to try to find the part. After going back and forth, they deemed that the unit was discontinued. I then had to wait a few days for 2-10 to determine that they would replace the unit. Once that took place, the system was ordered. That took a few days to a week to come in. All of this during the holidays. I went Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with no heat. When the system came in, the HVAC company called me. They came out the day after that to install. With the last person I spoke with at 2-10, I said, "My concern here is that I pay for a service. But yet, during the time that I need something, I'm the one making the calls, I'm the one contacting the HVAC company, I'm the one calling you guys asking where I stand." I'm very dissatisfied with the service on this particular claim.

    I've been with 2-10 for almost a year now. I submitted a claim for my water heater. I did the online thing then I received an email and it said that I would get a call within 24 hours, but I never got the call. And then I called in to verify, 'cause I hadn't heard from them. The customer service reps were very short with me. I'm not really impressed. I work in customer service myself. They were unprofessional at best.

    I was a little concerned with the contractor at first 'cause he pulled up and he was doing it out of a minivan. It looked like his own minivan and there was no badging in his car. There was no way to tell if he was legit. He ought to have something. Even Uber drivers have something that shows. But he was smart and he knew what he was doing. A little bit of a language barrier, but it is what it is. He managed to work it and he was very friendly.

    The problem with that one was 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty wasn't real good about the part. 'Cause he said he needed a total replacement, and it took them three days to approve the replacement. And then, he called them up and said he had the exact same thing that they needed in stock. And so, they let him go ahead and do it. 'Cause they were gonna send him. He called me up and said, "Let me call them and find out what I can do." And then the next day, he came and installed it. So, I was pleased with the installer. He set a good quality water heater in there and it's going really good.

    I submitted a claim to 2-10 Home Buyers for my heat pump and that went great. The techs came when they were supposed to and did what they were supposed to. They did well and contacted me regularly on what was happening with the contract between 2-10 and them. That time, my condenser was leaking. The unit couldn't be repaired and it took their techs a few days to find out that they couldn't find a new condenser for our air handler. So, 2-10 had to replace it with a whole new unit. I'll definitely keep my 2-10 warranty. Submitting claims has been really easy so far. All I do is make a phone call and everything else is handled.

    I submitted a claim because I had an emergency fix for my air conditioner, but they didn't respond to my claim. Since I had a company come out and solve the problem, they wouldn't even work with me because I didn't use their company. So I've had mixed experiences with 2-10. But when I call them and follow their procedures, it's been fine. When I had service done for my gas oven, the contractor was prompt and everything was fine. The oven had an issue with the control panel and they had to get a part and come back the next day. Overall, 2-10 is fine. It's an insurance company and it's a lot of cost if you don't have anything to use it on. In two years, it may have been economically sound for me, but it's a toss-up.

    2-10 handled the claim remarkably. I called them up and told them I had actually two units that weren’t working. They charge me $100 for service each time somebody has to come out. And because I had two units out, they said it’s still only just $100 to send one guy out, so they sent the guy out. We’ve had three different claims over the past year and a half with them. We’ve had the same company come out and fix them. I requested that company and they actually sent somebody from that company. Those guys were totally awesome.

    The guy went over and looked, found the problem and said, “Your units are old. We’re gonna have to order parts. I have to turn them in and everything. He said, “You might want to get a little portable heater ‘cause it’s gonna take a few days.” I said, “No problem.” They ordered the parts and they all came in. They were delivered to the company. The guy brought them out and put them all in, got everything running, and we were done beautifully.

    Since the units were old, it took a little bit longer than we would have liked it to but that had nothing to do with 2-10. It’s just the units are older and there were several parts they needed to replace and the replacement parts were hard to find. And they explained to me, if they couldn't find the replacement parts within a nominal time, they would replace the entire unit. So, great!

    We bought our house about a year and a half ago, and one of the stipulations of the house was I wanted the seller to include a home warranty. It’s a 20-year-old house, so I had a one-year warranty included in the sale. The seller agreed and 2-10 was what they got me. In the first year, of course, the air conditioners were 20 years old. The hot water heaters are very close to that. I know there are a lot of things that are old enough that are gonna need replacing soon. With the dishwasher, we did that replace the warranty but they gave us a cash-out price to replace it. I said it was old. 2-10 said they can come out and fix it or they would just give us X amount of money towards the purchase of a new one. And so we went and bought the new one and I sent them the receipt and they sent me $100 or something to replace it. Rather than me pay them to fix it, they paid me to replace it.

    I'm happy with that. That’s fair. This last time they were out to fix the heater, the guy told me, “If you didn’t have the warranty, these parts would probably be upward of three or four grand for parts and labor. So, you scored.” I said, “Okay! Good!” They haven’t batted an eye about it. They were like, “Yeah. No problem. Here you go.” So, I’m happy with them. I will renew with 2-10 next year.

    I got a water heater and 2-10 covered it, but they said I still had to pay $175. They told me it was outside of what the warranty would cover. It could have been a lot worse though. Although it took a long time to get the appointment with the first technician, he seemed fine. He was the one that I gave the $100 to. Then 2-10 sent two other guys out and they seemed fine too. Both of them said that the water heater had to be replaced, which I knew because it was leaking and making crazy noises. We also got very little hot water. The two other guys were the ones that replaced the water heater and they were the ones I gave the $75 to. I'm glad that I got a new hot water heater and pray that it will last for a long time.

    My claim on the heat pump in a rental was a disaster. The tenant called me before the holiday and said that the heater was making an awful noise. She said she didn’t wanna wait because it sounded like it was gonna stop. So I put in the claim immediately and then 2-10 told me that they couldn’t get out there till whenever. And they were gonna send a person from Wickenburg, which is a hundred miles away.

    I asked if they had somebody closer and they gave me the name of a company that they said was local, but I came to find out this person was really far away too. But I needed somebody. I called him and he could get out there. He told me the unit was crap and dirty. I sent him the receipt that I just did all the maintenance on it in July. When he went out there, the whole heater had stopped and it was really cold. I bought my tenant two electric wall heaters that she could plug in, which I haven’t sent them that receipt yet either.

    The tech told me that he had to order a part and it would be $275 to clean this thing. I told him to do what he had to do. Then Thursday after Christmas, he came back and he installed this part. But it sounded like an airplane was going through the house. A different company was contacted and a tech went out there. He said the guy installed the wrong motor.

    The new tech had to order the right one and it wasn’t until after New Year’s that it got fixed. My tenant says it's working now but she threatened to break her lease and I let her out of the lease. It was horrible. Throughout the years, I have maintained this unit. With this house, I go through this with the AC or the heat every year and everybody complains they don’t work right. It’s 23 years old. I have hired people on my own who all tell me the unit needs to be replaced. And then they tell me it’s fixable. But 2-10 finally took care of it and they waived my copay. It's tough when you have a tenant and they're not responsive. But overall, 2-10 is a good company. I have them on two of my homes and I like Joyce, the rep. She’s very responsive. I’m a Realtor too, so I refer business to her.

    We did a claim for the water heater and the contractor called us but it wasn’t within the 48 hours. I scheduled with them on a Thursday or Friday, and my husband took off work for that day but they never showed up. So I called 2-10 because they had two different POs. I told 2-10 that the one company for this PO never showed up and then asked for the other company. The rep said they wouldn’t take it because they weren’t close. Then she asked if we were okay with Tuesday, but it was the same company and I was not working with them because they were jerks. So she told me that she would call me back when she finds another company.

    The rep had to call around a bit to find one, and she finally found one. She found us a great company and the guy that came out was really nice. The job was done, and the water heater works great. So I was really happy with the company they finally found, and they were really sweet people too. I paid for the upgrade and they ordered it. They worked with me. Our contract with 2-10 will expire this September and I told my husband that we should renew because I like the process.

I found someone within a couple of days and it went pretty good. It wasn’t as easy as I would like to fix. My expectation was it would’ve been a little easier, because I didn't know that I had to go and find someone as well.     I recently had a claim for the water heater but none of the local listed contractors could handle it in a reasonable time frame. We were getting four days but that would not even include replacing the water heater. That would just be the first visit to the house. This initially occurred on Saturday and none of them were able to accommodate us prior to Thursday. It was a very difficult process. We ended up having to call a bunch of 2-10 contractors who didn’t respond, which was why we had to find someone out of the network. We had to pay out-of-pocket and out of $1,800, we were reimbursed $400.     Through the years, 2-10 has been getting better tradesmen. I had a claim before prior to moving and the tradesman was not to my liking. It took him a week to come out to my house and when I questioned him about it, he said it was because I was putting the claim through 2-10. As a result, I went lower on his schedule which was kind of a bummer. While that's not 2-10's fault, it's good for them to know that so when they interview or hire contractors that they wouldn’t have that type of feeling towards the work.

    Still, as a realtor, 2-10 is the warranty I prefer to buy for my clients as a housewarming gift. I like them very much. I submitted a claim for my pool to 2-10 one time and the tech they chose called that day to schedule. He was out the next day. This was the best experience that I had with 2-10's trades companies. They had to replace the whole pump as it was over 18 years old and it's not made anymore. But, I decided just to get a cash-out because the price that that tradesman would be able to get the pump and the work, was more than what was allotted from my home warranty. The amount 2-10 gave me was just right.

    I had a service person come out for the annual cleaning and they said my unit was spilling carbon monoxide. They said it was a safety hazard and had flames, and we couldn't use it. So, they shut my unit. I remembered I had a warranty, so I called 2-10 and had them come out. But I wasn't happy with the way it all worked out. I called 2-10, scheduled an appointment with the vendor, and they were supposed to be there at a certain time. They were two hours late and I was getting ready to get on an airplane. So, I was unhappy with the customer service from the vendor, not 2-10.

    Then, the person that cleaned my unit had given me a price to repair it and the guy that came out through 2-10 tried to upsell me an air conditioner unit when I really just needed the furnace. So, I was very displeased. I was leaving on an airplane in an hour, he knew I was rushed, and he was trying to charge me $5100, when it was really $500. I didn't like the feel of it. So, I did a buyout with 2-10 for just the part that was damaged. And the buyout to me was a lot less than it should have been. I had another company give me a price for the part and for a new one. 2-10 kept coming back and forth and saying that their pricing was different than everybody else’s. So, I ended up paying a lot more out of pocket than I should have. But I've been a client of 2-10's for five years and my premium is not cheap. It's $1000 a year and I didn't like having to battle and not really getting anything resolved. I also didn't like the vendor that 2-10 picked.

    I also had a claim on a plumbing issue and the vendor that came for that was great. I was also pleased a few years ago on my claim on the sump pump issue. They replaced that with no questions and that was easy. But this is my second experience on the heating and air company and per my knowledge for 2-10 and for the heat and air company, this is the only vendor they use in town. But Louisville's not a small city. For a city with million people, there should be more than one vendor.

    I'm a vice president of an insurance company and when you have a customer that has been with you for five years and their units are old, just repairing a part wasn't gonna do it. My unit was from 1997 and it would have been better to pay for the deal then you're done for 15 more years versus we having to file a claim every year and spending a $100 deductible. They repair a $200 part and we do this for five more years. I was a little discouraged that they didn't step up to bat and just replace the things as it was a safety hazard. We were without heat for three days and it was cold in winter, and I was on my way out of town. So, it's very frustrating situation when you got kids in the family and I did not like how 2-10 and the vendor handled the situation.

    2-10 should have another vendor for the heating and air on the roster, and they should not just replace parts but to look at the whole scenario if it make sense to do so, especially if somebody has been with you for five years. I've probably spent $5,000 or close to it in premium and would make sense to pay for a new unit. There needs to be a little better customer service than just cut and dry that they will only fix the part. They should be prepared to tell their clients as well that the warranty is not a replacement. You might end up spending more on the warranty than the actual part itself. For my situation, I didn't have anything else last year yet I got a $500 from 2-10, spent $1000, I had to pay my $100 deductible, and I had to buy a whole new unit for $2800 from a whole different person.

    When I bought my house about five years ago, 2-10 was the original warranty that came with it. Then I purchased a warranty after my initial one ended and figured I'd do it with the same company. I've had a few claims with them. They came over twice for my refrigerator. A few years ago, a little circuit board in there was replaced. They also did the same thing on my microwave. Recently, I had a leak in my water heater, and they were ready to replace it. I said that I wanna upgrade it and they told me that they would give me 620 bucks towards that. I'm sure they saved money too because the guy they sent out probably would've charged them about 900 to replace the water heater. It all worked out well.     The geothermal unit broke and we submitted a claim. Within less than a week, we had somebody come out, inspect it, and give 2-10 back a quote. They told us the quote was more than they allowed. So they turned around and sent us a check to have it fixed. It was pretty simple. They did a really good job. When I have had any kind of issue, they usually fix it pretty quick. So it’s been a great experience. That’s why we continuously sign up for it because it’s a great service and they take care of us.

    But they could speed up the process a little bit. I don’t know if that’s their fault or the vendors that they use. Sometimes, we requested certain vendors and they would send somebody completely different, which is really not that big a deal because we don’t have anybody. But if a vendor already knows our equipment and they’ve been out here quite a few times, then 2-10 should send that person out versus somebody who has no idea and basically starting from scratch.

    2-10 accommodated the claim so the warranty has been well worth it and everything has been smooth. Apparently, the heating system was on its last leg. The house was built in ’86 and the heating system was part of the original house. That was why we had the inspection done and contractor said everything was fine. But less than six months later, the heating system died on us. Because I wasn’t waiting around for all the stuff to happen, I did an out-of-network one. I just called the people that came before we bought the house to service the heating system then. They installed a new system the next day and then I contacted 2-10 to figure out how I go about claiming. I only got $1100 out of the $8300 that I spent but it’s better than nothing. Plus when I started researching, 2-10 only covers up to $1500 anyway for a whole replacement and the actual unit outside was the only thing that the contractor put as defective. But they replaced everything because, obviously, they have to. So I could only get reimbursed the cost of the outside unit. But overall, the warranty has paid for itself so I’m glad I got it.

    The temperature of our electric water heater was going up really high this one particular day and we didn’t know what caused it. The following day, I walked in the shower, turned the water on, and there was zero heated water. When I went out to the garage to check on the water heater, there was water on the floor. I filed a claim to 2-10 over the phone and it went fine. Their claims process was straightforward. I understood what needed to be done. The tech that was sent out replaced the water heater and put in a new water tank. When I called them and they needed some information of the existing water heater, it was a Wednesday. They told me the water heater would come Monday, the earliest. They delivered and installed it on Friday.

    Everything is working fine now. Three days after it was installed, I noticed lack of hot water. Apparently, right before I walked in the shower, my wife was doing the laundry in the washing machine, and she had the setting on hot. So, that absorbed most of the hot water. But it has been okay since then. The current contract expires February 5th, and I get something in my email saying that if I renew by the end of the year, they would take $100 off. So my wife and I talked about it, and since we had this experience and it went well, we did sign up for an additional year.

They were already there for another problem, and they added the washer to the service call and found out what was wrong or at least they thought they did. We've had to go to a laundromat three times. They never diagnosed it right to start with. They came out on December 2nd, and we still don't have a washing machine. We called up 2-10 and told them that the contractor kept putting parts on but it is still not fixed. We told the we just wanna cash it out or take whatever they would give so we could get a new one. That's how we ended up getting cashed out on the washer, and we are getting ready to buy one now.

    2-10 should not work with Royal Heating & Plumbing. The person 2-10 sent to do the repairs was very incompetent. He lied to me about when he submitted, so we had to wait a week. He was waiting on 2-10's approval to do the work and he never did it until six days later, is what 2-10's rep told my agent. Very unprofessional, wouldn't return calls. I never in a million years would ever hire that company. He did a repair, misdiagnosed it, turned out it was something else, and we had to reclaim it. Working with him was a nightmare but I understand that wasn't 2-10's fault.

    When I first started, the deposit that was required when you use 2-10 was $50. Here, in 2019-2020, it went up to $75. That was the first time they went up since I’ve been with them, and I appreciated that. The only thing negative to say about 2-10 is that, if I call them during emergency, whatever company they have coming out, it may take a day or two. And the ones I’ve been seeing advertised on TV, they say, “They’ll send someone out the same day.” With my water heater, it took them a couple of days to get here. Nevertheless, the contractor came in, and I was very pleased. They took care of business and they did a very good job. When I talked to the lady, she told me she took credit cards, and so I gave her mine. However, I did not get any paperwork -- I thought I should get some receipt.

    On November 26th, my dishwasher and washer both broke two days apart. I called the insurance company and requested servicing. The dishwasher is only a year and a half old and the technician said it would take them one week to replace the broken pump and motor. It has been three weeks and I have not heard from them. On December 7th, I called them and they told me they could not find the part needed to be replaced. They said they contacted the insurance company to send over the parts, but this did not happen. Yesterday, December 30th, I called the insurance company and they finally confirmed that they purchased the part and it would take the repair company another 10 days to receive the parts.

    The washer was serviced by a technician five times. He was not able to fix the washer and found a new problem to fix each time he came. I had to take five days off of work. Having three small kids, not having a working washer was a nightmare. However, after 5 weeks, they decided it is not fixable. I called them on December 31st to see the status of the request and I was told by the purchasing department Supervisor Mendez that they have to contact the contractor again. I do not know how long it will take them to get back to me. I can't believe I had to write this review in order to get their attention. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    I made a phone call to 2-10 regarding my water heater and after that, I was followed up with by email. There was one little glitch, but it was resolved. I had called 2-10 and had a question. I called about the hot water heater. We didn't have hot water one day so that was the claim that was filed. When the plumber came, he said the hot water heater that was in the house when I bought it was very old. He tried to order the parts trying to resolve the issue. He didn't know how long that would take so his recommendation was that the water heater be replaced with a new one. All of that, going through the process of getting that taken care of through 2-10, it was at a part in the process where it had to be released. The plumber was able to go and buy a hot water heater and that was where the holdup was.

    I called 2-10 and spoke with someone who asked me to call the plumber myself but I didn't think that was appropriate because if a customer calls you and asks about how soon they will be able to expect service, they shouldn't put it back on the customer to then take care of that. They should say, "Hey, let me call the plumber" or "Let me look internally and see what's going on and call you back." That really wasn't appropriate. I hung up from that rep and called 2-10 back. I got a great woman who apologized for what had happened and she took care of the matter immediately. We were able to schedule the installation very soon after that. That was the only hiccup I had. It was just one person. The woman rep asked me the first rep's name and I gave it to her. I guess they addressed it.

    Other than that, everything went smoothly. The plumber that came out was on time and he did the job. He told me what to expect and he did what he said he was gonna do. But I have to contact 2-10 to let them know that the water temperature may need to be reset. The plumber set it at the factory standard and that's not quite warm enough for us. That's not really a complaint but the plumber told us that if the water heater needed to be adjusted, we could call him. But I am not sure if that has to go through 2-10 Home Warranty since they subcontract him. We have the Supreme coverage with 2-10 and my claim closed out before Christmas.

    2-10 was frustrating as hell. They denied my claim at first with no reason whatsoever. I had an inspection report that passed as far as my hot water heater, and the guy that they sent out from the plumbing company that they work with also said that it wasn’t a pre-existing condition but they tried to deny me. So, I had to get a little nasty and then they finally put the claim through. There was no reason for them not to process the claim other than they didn’t wanna pay for it, and they ended up having to pay for it because I was in the right. But it was back and forth for a couple of days and it was very frustrating. But the plumbing company that I dealt with were wonderful.

    When I had a water heater problem and I submitted a claim to 2-10, somebody came out that same day. 2-10 gave me what they would cover. I got to pick the payout and do the purchase on my own. That time, the out of pocket cost was almost gonna be $1,000 but I was able to find someone to replace the heater for $200 for labor plus $500 which is the price of the water heater.

    Over the summer though, I had an issue with my AC and it was the most miserable experience I've ever had. I live in Texas where it’s very hot and I didn’t have AC for almost three months. The contractor who came out for 2-10 was inexperienced. He said he already let 2-10 know that my unit needed to be replaced. Instead, they pushed him to put in a new condenser. So, I had to pay $300 out of pocket to replace the condenser for non-covered charges.

    Afterward, the compressor went out and at that point, 2-10 said that they would replace the unit. I had to come out an additional $200 out of pocket. In total, I'm $500 out of pocket and $300 of which I should've never paid. During this time, I had to put my family up in a hotel 'cause it was miserable. I also bought internal AC units. That was another 200 or 300 bucks. After all that was done the replacement AC unit was making noises because the thermostat wasn't wired properly and 2-10 said they didn't cover noises. Moreover, the contractor said that he would not be coming back out 'cause he doesn't think there should be an issue with the noises. So, I had to go find someone else and pay another $185 for them to re-wire.

    The whole refrigerator went out on me. It stopped working and there was a problem with the motor and compressor. I called 2-10 on a Thursday or Friday, and the contractor showed up on Monday. The guy explained certain things to me and he was nice about everything. 2-10 said that they’d written it up as to be repaired after the contractor guy said it needed to be replaced. When I called them back, another representative looked over the paperwork and said, "No, they should have replaced it, not repaired it, because of the cost." She then corrected everything and got me a refund to replace versus repair the ref. So, they got the problem straightened out.

    2-10 is responsive. Any time we have submitted a claim, they would usually send some sort of receipt and we'd usually have somebody contact us within the day or the next day. We had an issue with the water heater, where the hot water would go way within five minutes, no matter where you took a shower at. I looked at the water heater and it looked like it was done. That ultimately ended up being the problem as we had to get a new water heater. One was picked out for us and it got installed. It was a positive experience and we were happy.

    Putting in a claim with 2-10 is very easy. However, the processing of the claim takes too long. It held up our contractors because we couldn't get answers from the 2-10. I would get different answers from whoever different people I talk to. They kept having to go through different divisions and saying that the process takes 7 to 10 working days. That's hard because when the process has that many days, it holds everybody up. We put the claim in on November 21st and I just got it resolved with a check last week. Still, the ladies who answer the phone for 2-10 have been very pleasant. While I had one that did not provide good customer service, 2-10's people have been very helpful.

    The home builder paid for 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty in my first couple of years of living in the house. The first year, we got the builder's warranty. And on the second year, they just wanted that if anything's wrong, that’d be covered. I normally get on my phone to submit my claims and the process has been very easy. Once submitted, they assign a contractor and the contractors contact me within 24 hours and at the house within 48 hours.

    I've had good interactions with the contractors. I had one bad experience though the very first time I used it about two years ago. He walked in, looked at the item and walked out and never heard from him again. When I called him about a week later to find out what was going on, he said, "We don't cover that part. They should have called you and let you know." And I said okay. 2-10 was not even aware that that took place. That was the first time I've used them. But my last two experiences have been absolutely the best. It was quick and easy. One was a water heater, one was a dryer, and the guys were out within 24 to 48 hours. They fixed it and I paid my deductible. Overall, I've been pleasantly surprised with my experience.

    I don’t even know where to begin with this awful company. I paid for a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty when I purchased my new home in March 2019. Since then I’ve had to call them numerous time for issues. Each time, not only do I wait a week or more for service, NOTHING IS EVER COVERED! You’re tricked into believing the $189 "service fee" you pay the service technician is for repairs but make no mistake!!! — that fee is ACTUALLY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE! Whoever comes out to your home on the first visit IS NOT SENT THERE TO PERFORM ANY REPAIRS. They’re sent to your home on the initial visit to DIAGNOSE. They wrote up a diagnostic report and submit it to 2-10 who then figures out a way NOT to cover what’s needed for an actual repair.

    This company is a total scam. You pay hundreds of dollars for the protection plan, THEN pay $189 for each “service fee” (which is actually only a diagnostic fee), and then they deny your claim. Don’t fall for it. Word of advice: if by chance you have to use this company for any existing membership plan you already have, RECORD EVERYTHING! Record all phone calls and all interactions with technicians who come into your home. If not for my recorded footage, 2-10 was going to deny one of my claims. But I had proof of what the technician told me, and threatened to sue them in court with very clear-cut evidence. Only then did they change their position and pay for the claim. It took 2 weeks and almost 50 phone calls to them but I didn’t give up. They’re in the business of making money for themselves, not to help you. Steer clear!!!

    I submitted a service request for the fridge because the icemaker had a noise, and it stopped working. It was five days until the people from the fridge company came out. We were in the middle of holidays. It was terrible to sleep at night with the noise. I tried to do something, and got into the ice machine, and the noise was gone. The fridge is working. I tried to cancel the appointment, but this company told me, “Let the technician come and go.” He didn’t see and do anything. I also filed a claim for my swimming pool. They exchanged the pump and it was fixed. I recommend 2-10 because when I have a problem the company puts the claim with somebody fast.

    I’m satisfied with 2-10's service. My experience was nice on the initial time in a claim. The only trouble was not many people are available on their network. So then I had to wait for some time. I had service done on my refrigerator that was not cooling. The first two times, the techs were not good because they didn’t come, but the third one was good. The first tech called me and said that they couldn't come in two days. So, they had to move it out. The second one said they were assigned in another because they are not supposed to be in that area. It’s because each contractor has an area. The third one came after 10 days, and the quality of work was good. The tech was very straightforward.
