I've had the coverage with 2-10 for a year now and have submitted a few claims. I’ve been doing it online, which is easy, and everything has been straightforward with their site. Interacting with their contractors has also been good so far. Everybody that has come in has been friendly and knowledgeable.

I had my first claim with 2-10 due to my furnace and thermostat, but it really wasn’t good service that I got. I wasn’t happy with it at all. They had no contractor here in Columbus, Indiana, which is a decent, up and coming city, that could come and work on it. They had to wait for a 24-hour period and they said they were trying to contact somebody, who is not from this city but from some surrounding area. I called them back the next day and talked to them about the situation, and they told me I could call somebody from this town but I would have to pay for it and possibly be reimbursed.

It sounds like I wasted a bunch of money. If there’s something that comes up in the future, they’re probably not gonna pay for it. I have called somebody from Seymour to see how much they would actually charge to come out and look at it but they weren’t interested. I think that's mainly because they found out that I had the 2-10 warranty. They mentioned that they don’t really work with the company because it seems like they do not want to pay.

I submitted a claim with 2-10 for our leaking dishwasher and that worked pretty well. The contractors have great personality. When they came at first, everything seemed to work well, then it started leaking again. So, I called them back up. They came back out and the guy fixed it. The actual owner came out to check the third time and worked on the dishwasher himself.

We have 2-10 for the house that we live in and we also got one on our rental property. The only problem is that every time I call up about an issue, they can’t seem to find the policy right away. They would say that I don't have a policy, and I would tell them that’s impossible, then after doing further research they would find my two policies. And that can be irritating. Still, I would get 2-10 for another property once it's up and running.

2-10 was the warranty company that the seller chose and we've been covered since November 21st of last year. Recently the water pressure was really high, and it was causing the water heater to turn off. Submitting a claim wasn’t all smooth because there was a scheduling issue. But they're doing some work with some of the piping and the new water heater is scheduled to be installed tomorrow.

I've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for about nine months now. When I'm submitting a claim, it really is fine. I call in and then my husband has done it a couple of times online too. However, their reps are not very knowledgeable. I had a refrigerator that did not work for 10 weeks and I was calling multiple times a day. They kept sending people out who actually broke it more. And, I could tell that it was just some 16-year-old girl answering the phone saying, “Oh, I understand.” I also had a problem with the dishwasher for seven weeks and it was horrendous.

They're not a bad company, though. After we submit a claim, they say I’ll hear from someone in 24 - 48 hours. And 9 out of 10 times, they called and came right away. They were also great the first time which was with my air conditioner issue. And it was the middle of the summer, so thank god for that. They also fixed the fan and the garbage disposal, but these are the kind of things that you can live without. They completely dropped the ball on the refrigerator and the dishwasher which are the things that are pretty important. I also think that the quality of contractors that they have are very subpar.

In the summer of 2017, I turned my air conditioner on and it didn't work. I called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and they sent the local contract person to check it out. He wanted to sell me a whole complete setup. He said that I gotta have a new furnace and a new air conditioner because it was a heat pump and that I gotta replace all of it to the tune of $6,800. I'm in my 70's but I'm not wet behind the ears. We had a young guy before that serviced our furnace and air-conditioner needs and I called him. He came over and he fixed it for around 50 bucks. He checked out everything and he cleaned whatever he had to clean on the air-conditioner and my furnace. He said that I was just low on Freon. Also, my garbage disposal went out in 2017 and had that replaced through the home warranty but I had to pay upfront the $100 service fee even though I’m paying about $700 a year for a home warranty program.

In 2018, I renewed 2-10 and I had to pay $45 a month and I had it run through one of my credit cards to make enough payments. Then in December, my microwave went out and I have had seven service calls for it since January. The last one was yesterday and the contractor has replaced two parts. An electrician was even sent out to check my circuit box because when I would start using the microwave, the circuit breaker would blow and it would quit working. The guy that was here yesterday was also here last week to bring that second replacement part, the magnetron. But they had shipped the wrong part, so I had to wait until this week for him to come.

When he put the new part in and plugged the oven in the wall where my TV is, below the circuit, sparks went flying from the outlet. I was upset and I called 2-10. They said they will try to fix it if it can be fixed but I told them that I don't feel safe with this thing in my house. I don't know what's gonna short on it and I think it's gonna cause a fire. I told them that I want a new microwave but the young lady said that she couldn't help, so I talked to a supervisor. I told him that I’ve already had seven service calls and I paid $100 for these service calls, so I’ve already spent enough money to buy a new microwave.

Right now, 2-10 has to wait on the diagnoses from the appliance repair company to make their decision whether they will keep trying to fix it or replace it and I'm waiting to hear about that. There's just no customer service today. There's no interpersonal relationship, people's skills, all those steps is lost in society today. I'm almost 75 and it's all technology, it's all internet, nothing is person-to-person. A company should be concerned about a 75-year-old woman but instead, they just want my money. The cost this year is $65 a month. I'm totally fed up and I will cancel 2-10 when all this is resolved. I can't cancel the home warranty because if I do before they fix or replace my microwave, it's null and void even though I had coverage in January when I called and made my report. I'm stuck with having to wait until I get my microwave. If I see anybody that talks about 2-10, I'll say that they shouldn't do it.

I've had 2-10’s coverage on my home for 14 months. The warranty was part of the negotiation when I purchased my home, and I added the buy-down price or the deductible for the refrigerator and freezer. Recently, I put in a claim for my HVAC because the thermostat is not changing. But when I got the email back from 2-10, it said that the claim was for the telephone wiring, and I didn't even have any issue with it. I called 2-10 and they didn’t know why the system did that either because they had everything, including the serial number, that I had to put in for the HVAC.

I was not satisfied with the contractor that was sent out. We made an appointment for whatever time it was, and I waited until 10 or 15 minutes after the appointed time. But then I had to leave, and 10 or 15 minutes after that, the contractor called me and said that he was at my house. He said he had been here for whatever long, but I had already left. I have a job and I can’t just be sitting at home for three hours. I'm not getting paid for that. So the first issue with me was the accountability aspect.

The next individual that came was on time, but there was the lack of communication. He said his boss was gonna call me and nobody did. I called them and I left a message, but I haven’t heard anything back. I had some family matters that happened and I haven't been able to contact 2-10 about that contractor. That’s a failure on my part. But in the past, we had a water leak, and it took three days to get somebody out to my house. Obviously, the issue was not a main concern for the company. They didn’t really care.

I’m still having the same problems with my HVAC. It was warm that day when the guys came out to look at it, and they couldn’t figure out what the issue was. They said that because it was hot out, they couldn’t determine the issue, and they have to come back out when it is colder. The HVAC isn’t heating correctly, and they thought it could be the thermostat that is bad. The claim is supposed to still be open, and I don’t know if they closed it out.

We've had 2-10 for about 10 years now. When I’m submitting a claim, they're not difficult. However, it’s sometimes difficult to get satisfaction. I filed claims for the refrigerator as well as the washer and the dryer. They assigned me to a repair company, but they never showed up. They didn’t wanna answer my calls too. And then, 2-10 agreed to finally purchase the items that needed to be purchased, instead of buying parts to fix it. They replaced the washer and the dryer. Other than that, most of the contractors have been good.

2-10 has been very good and the service they provided met my needs. Whenever I had something broken, I would use their website to do a job order and they would make it happen. Their customer service is very good. They’re always professional and very friendly. They send a technician out to my home within 48 hours. Every single service was great except once, and that was just because the technician they sent out had some personal problems, so there was a little delay in getting my AC fixed. My latest claim with 2-10 was with the swimming pool. I had a problem with my valve accelerator that controls the filter and it was leaking and causing water to go out into the drain line. The tech who came here replaced the valve.

I recently had an issue with the heat pump and filing a claim online is easier but I had to talk to the rep from 2-10 to work out payment issues. The rep was a little arrogant but besides that, it was all right. I explained why I was not going with their repairman when I filed a claim. I’m using my own and it shouldn’t be nobody’s issue but mine. The contractor who came was great but I didn’t want to use him. Also, 2-10 has to be a little bit quicker on repairs and with their turnaround, their fixes should be way more perfect. If my heat pump goes out right now and I call by this afternoon, the thing should be back on and running. That’s a good turnaround time and I paid the extra money.

I submitted a claim with 2-10 for the water heater and they had a contractor out. The tech replaced the thermostat within the water heater itself. It would be 2 years in May since we've had 2-10, and when we had an issue with our refrigerator, it was fairly easy to submit the claim itself. I made a phone call and there was an automated system. I told them what was wrong and they sent a contractor to our house.

The tech looked at our refrigerator and told me that it wasn't repairable. But at first there was a misunderstanding or a miscommunication because when the tech said that he couldn't fix the fridge, to 2-10 that meant that maybe somebody else could, but that wasn't the case. Then 2-10 called me and said that they wanted us to find and pay a contractor ourselves, then they would reimburse us. We found our own contractor and 2-10 ended up reimbursing us. They had a buyout on the fridge, so we took the buyout and bought a fridge ourselves because we were without one for so long and we needed to get one. Both of these repair issues affected the operations in our home very much. When the water heater wasn't working, we were without hot water for a couple of days because the problem with it happened over the weekend. Also, it took the refrigerator issue a week or so to get resolved.

We have had to make several claims or phone calls to 2-10 and most of the time, there were no problems. However, the last time I called, I was not okay with it. A plumber came in to check one of the leaks that we had in one of our walls and 2-10 told the technician that it could be okay to open our wall, but there were no details why. It was gonna be covered, but it ended up that instead of 2-10 covering or paying for having to make the hole in the wall, I was having to pay for it, and I wasn’t okay with that. I understood why we had to pay for it in the end, but I wasn’t okay that they said okay in the beginning.

Other than that, we've been with them for almost a year now and the customer service reps are always nice every time I would make a phone call. It also does not take too long for them to send a technician out. I would get a phone call that day or the next day. The technicians were always helpful. They would check whatever we had at the time thoroughly and they would call 2-10 to see the next step to it that they could do.

The 2-10 warranty was something I decided to add on when I bought the house, and I've had the coverage for seven months now. Submitting a claim is really easy. You just call or submit it online, and they assign you to someone who will come out and take care of the problem. I typically submit claims online and there’s no difficulty with the use of the website. It gives you very specific choices and when the claim doesn’t quite fit in a box, I just click the closest one and they still send me somebody who can take care of the issue.

One time I had a provider who was elusive. I called 2-10 and told them that I couldn’t get a hold of the guy, and they immediately assigned me somebody else who was great. I have dealt with two plumbers and were really professional. They let me know when they were on their way. I also had an HVAC guy, and he was helpful and really professional as well. I also had an appliance repair person who also was very professional, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He explained to me what had happened and he fixed the problem. The warranty doesn’t cover everything, but at least I know what’s going on. You need to be careful to know what’s covered and what’s not so you’re not disappointed when the contractors come. Overall, 2-10 is very professional and straightforward, and I've trusted and I’ve been pleased with the people that they've sent me.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was what the seller provided when I bought my house and I've had them for six months now. My experience with them was horrible. I tried to get a claim on my gas stove because the oven quit working. Their reps said do it online but it was virtually impossible. I can’t modify it. The stuff that they sent me tells me to go to the website and sign up there. I did all that but it didn't do anything for me. And when I called them, they said that I need to do it on the website. I asked the rep to show me where to put the information in but she couldn’t do it either. So, I ended up calling and talking to people. The service provider that they finally hooked me up with after several weeks, when I finally got a hold of him, doesn’t service my brand or my location. Then after another week, they couldn’t find anybody that would service my brand or my location.

2-10 basically told me that I need to go find somebody and that they have to approve it, and then I would just pay all that and then I get reimbursed. Apparently, it’s a double trip for the contractors to come out here. One is when they find out what my stove needs, the second is when they actually repair it. I couldn't get people on the phone and it was very frustrating. At that point, I went and bought a new stove. I will never use 2-10. In fact, I’m selling my older home and I will not use 2-10 as a warranty.

A friend of mine has a realty company in New Bern, North Carolina. She uses 2-10 and she told me about them. I call them for my claims. I wait, I get somebody then they reply. They are usually very good about replying. I then have to wait to hear from the service provider, whoever is gonna do whatever needs to be done. Responses from service providers depend on how busy they are. From my experience, I had a plumber who responded quicker than the electrician.

In my first year with 2-10, I did the $50 fee. I paid 2-10 more money to get the lower per incident fee, but the vendors are limited when they only get that much. If you pay $75, you are paying less money to 2-10 but the actual person doing the work makes a little bit more. That $25 makes a huge difference to them. During the first year, the plumber that I could get at the $50 fee was different from the plumber that I got at the $75 fee.

The 2-10 claims process I experienced before was very smooth, but this last time was a bit complicated. When I had a claim for a roof repair, 2-10 couldn’t find anyone to do it. It rains here then the sun comes out and everything dries. Since 2-10 couldn’t get a vendor, they told me to get a vendor then submit the bill. To date, the roof is not yet done.

2-10 was recommended by my Realtor when we purchased the home. We've had them for almost two years now and submitting claims have been very convenient and affordable. I do it over the phone as I am the kind of client who likes to listen to a voice on the other side. Whenever I call, I take down a name and the time of the call and the day. I put that in my agenda just so if anyone would say that they didn't speak to me or didn't do it or didn't say that, I'll say that they did and I spoke to this person at this time of the day.

Some of the contractors that 2-10 sent out have been amazing and run very organized businesses. Others have been a little bit more informal. I called one of them and we have put down a date. They called me earlier saying that I have an appointment coming up the same day. I told them that I have it on my agenda and it was not that day but a week from that. It happened to me with them twice. So I have encountered moments in which with that particular company where a lady said the situation in which I'm the customer and the philosophy has not been the customer’s always right. I have gone in a bit of attitude on the phone.

I would like to see a wider range of suppliers connected to their network for certain services. For example, 2-10 doesn't have a supplier for the vacuum system in my house. I researched that on my own. Then for my oven and for certain appliances in my house, because of the brand that they are, 2-10 has two, and they're packed, so I have had to wait a couple of months for some issues to be resolved.

I've been with 2-10 for about a year and a half now and I’m not sure if I’m gonna renew with them this time. I’ve used them twice. Once, to replace a thermostat which was $100. I had them do it because I didn’t know any better. But I found out later, I could’ve had it done on my own for the same or less. Another was when my water heater broke and leaked. I wasn’t happy with the quality of technician that they’ve sent out. 2-10 gave me a new water heater for $100, but I wasn’t happy with the workmanship and how the tech ended up installing it into the cabinet.

The water heater went under my kitchen counters and the way he boarded it back up was a little messy. I understood that my hot water heater was hard to access for the technician, but I wasn’t crazy about how he put it back together. It doesn’t look nice anymore, so I’m gonna eventually have that taken care of. I’m gonna have to have the woodworking redone around the water heater. The water heater leaked in my kitchen, and it shorted out my dishwasher which 2-10 refused to help me with because they said that that wasn’t normal wear and tear. So, I had that taken care of myself. I don’t have any choice on who comes out and fixes things. Since this has been going on, I’ve had other issues with my home that didn’t really have anything to do with that. And I think that I’d prefer to shop around and find my own repairman. For the amount of money that 2-10 charges to have their service, I don’t feel that it’s worth it for me.

They try to do what they can to fix your problem or whatever is wrong, and it's done pretty fast.

When I bought the house, there was the 2-10 home warranty on it. After the contract for that expired, we took over. Recently, we had a water leak, then the water went from the bathroom over to my daughter’s room, and then it went in to her closet. The water was under the carpet and on the wall. I filed the claim over the phone to get that fixed. But that process could be improved because every time I called, it always took so long for somebody to come out. The contractor that came out to our home did okay. Right now, everything is okay.

However, calling them to file a claim would be about 30 minutes just to get through to someone. On the other hand, filing claims with them online is easy. I had an issue one time from looking up the reviews of a contractor. I felt not very comfortable and I called 2-10 up. I told them to look into it and they did that. They switched it for me. I’ve always gotten help from their customer service. I’d recommend them to a friend.

Right after we moved in, the AC went out and I didn’t have any problems. However, I had an issue with one of their contractors and they were not to be sent to my house. I had a little argument with the one from 2-10 that called but it was handled and it’s fine. Recently, we had a problem with using a propane and we shouldn't. The tech is replacing the propane kit on the unit but it hasn’t been fixed yet. The part is not in. Also, I had an electrical problem and they couldn't find a contractor to come out, so I had to find to my own contractor and ended up paying out of pocket. Nevertheless, I recommend them to my clients.

We've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for 10 years and we've had a good experience. We filed our most recent claim for the water heater that was leaking. I called it in and then a rep called and said that they couldn’t find someone to come and fix it, so I needed to take care of it and 2-10 was gonna reimburse me. I started to give calls to the plumbers. And then I had questions and the person who answered the phone call was a complete mess. She didn’t know what she was talking about and she gave me the wrong information. I said that I wanted to escalate it and figure someone who knew what they were dealing with. It was a disappointment to me, but they fixed the issue and did it the right way, and there was no problem afterward. The technician who did the work was good and 2-10 reimbursed me for what they said they were gonna reimburse me for. The reimbursement period took less than 10 days which was fast.

If 2-10 has someone in the network, it is good, but if they don’t, I have to look for someone myself, which is a pain. I wanted them to have someone in the network, but they compensated by paying whatever the person quoted me for and I didn’t have to negotiate. The problem that really annoys me is dealing with the representatives who do not know what they are talking about. If you are talking to a supervisor, they tend to know and solve your problems, but the reps are not educated well enough. But they fixed the problems towards the end and I was never doing something that they didn’t pay for. They gave me a hard time on how they do it but still, they did what they were supposed to be doing.

We got 2-10 when we bought the house. We've had it for three and a half years now and many of the contractors that we have used through 2-10 said that it is one of the best home warranty companies that they worked with. When I submit claims, I do it over the phone. I have tried multiple times doing online and I have never been able to make it work, which is kinda frustrating. It's easier if I can do it there and not call because I usually have to wait on hold. But the people that answer the phone are knowledgeable enough and pleasant so it's not really an issue.

The contractors that 2-10 sends are a hit or miss. There are some that I specifically ask not to send if I call for the same type of issue. We have issues with our AC fairly frequently and when I call, I tell whose contractor I want, and 2-10 is great about that. Then depending on the job, there are times when we have to wait a couple weeks before somebody comes out because there is a part that has to be ordered, and that's not anyone's fault. Sometimes, the contractors come out and fix the thing immediately.

They said they were gonna get back within two days, but on Thursday, I didn’t hear anything. I thought they were gonna come on Saturday and I had to call to see what was going on. The plumbing company said they were waiting on 2-10 to approve the work order. But when I called 2-10 they said they were waiting for the plumbing company to get back with them.

Eventually, our water heater got replaced. With 2-10, we’ve also had our ceiling fan, our garbage disposal, a pool pump and a bunch of different things fixed. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty had been out here a few times and the experience has been great. First thing was I had a cracked vent pipe in my bathroom and people came out, repaired it and they did a nice job. Then, a second time, people came out because I had an odor coming from the bathroom but 2-10 did not cover the cost of that because it was a plumbing issue which was bigger than what they covered. I'm still happy with the service though. I normally call to file my claims and their reps have been awesome. Plus, the contractors that they send always put shoe covers on before they come into my house, so they don't get my floors dirty, which is awesome and very considerate. Plus, they explain everything well.

I've been extremely happy with 2-10 and I will definitely continue to renew it as long as the cost doesn't go up. I would also definitely tell my friends to buy a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. It's literally the best money spent. There is a peace of mind of having it because I'm an unmarried female who owns my home and not extremely handy.

I submitted a claim online. It was quick and it worked well. I had told the lady from the contractor who was answering the phone exactly what was going on and I took a picture of the model number. However, when the person came out, he didn’t have the part that he needed. If the lady would have passed on that information, then the technician would have had it, my problems could have been solved that day. He didn't have the part and it was Friday night, so I had to wait through the weekend.

Eventually, someone else came out, and he replaced the part that I needed. He didn’t speak good English, so he was hard to understand. He said he jumper cabled so whatever he used made my heat run constantly for four hours, and I didn‘t realize it until I went upstairs and it was hot. He had to come back out that night at 7:00 to fix it and take off his jumper cable so my heater would stop. I did not love the technicians. Hopefully next time, I will be able to choose a different company.

But whenever I submitted claims, I did this online as they didn't have very easy access over the phone. Doing it online was not the easiest and their website was not the most user-friendly, but it was doable.

When we had school-related stuff, we asked the contractor to come later but they called and insisted on coming early. So, we made arrangements and allowed them to come. But the technician who came was very short in his diagnosis and he tried to put the blame for the problem on us and leave. When that didn't work, he said that the problem was something that was not covered by our warranty and then he left. We got another contractor to come in. The technician troubleshot the problem and discovered that it was not what the original contractor said, and he was able to fix it. I told 2-10 what happened with the first contractor and they looked into it. Then they contacted us back and agreed to send us a check for the service fee that we had paid. The negative that we had with the first contractor that they sent out was resolved.

The dishwasher had draining issues and wouldn't drain well. It was connected to some tube and it came to a point where we hadn't used it in a couple of days and it had filled with water. When we opened it, it all flooded out, so we were ready to put in for a new dishwasher. We submitted the claim with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty online and I selected the option to have them reimburse me the $100, that I would have paid towards the warranty, for the purchase. We opted to do that instead of having them do the claim. We purchased a new dishwasher, then we had the company we purchased it from install it. Once I have the receipt, I can submit it and 2-10 will reimburse me the $100.

We weren't very happy with the claim we submitted prior to it. It was for a cracked heat exchanger in our heater and 2-10 wanted to replace the heat exchange in an 18-year-old system. All of the professionals we consulted said it was ridiculous to put in a new heat exchanger in a system that old. We aren't even done with that claim. We bought a whole new system, but I wanted to at least be reimbursed for the amount they would have covered for a heat exchanger. 2-10 was saying that the heat exchanger was under warranty, but I couldn't find any information on it being under warranty. So, we are stuck there. A few of my customer service interactions have been lacking, so I would like better customer service and more professionalism from them. I would also like logical policies in covering and repairing and replacing items.

I submitted two separate claims with 2-10 on the same day. I did it online and I was contacted by the companies. One claim was related to the garage door and the other one was related to plumbing. One situation was resolved, while we need to get back and make a decision for the other one. The service was prompt and I appreciated it. I was happily surprised, compared to our last warranty company, of the service happening within the next business day.

Both contractors were polite and informative. I just wish the first company would have told me that I could have replaced some of what I had them worked on. I realized I could have replaced the garage door for what it cost for them to fix it because it was work that was additionally not covered by the warranty but was necessary for them to do the part that was covered by the warranty. I wish I had known that once I paid the deposit, that I could have called them back the next day after talking to my husband and making a decision. It was my fault for not asking more questions, but I wish they would have happily volunteered that information. The other company was very helpful and they explained things well. They went the extra mile to help us look at our options with the plumbing situation, which I appreciated.

The warranty service is great. The people on the phone are nice enough. But with my two experiences, I haven't been real big on either of the contractors that they sent out. So I've been using my own people to get things done. I've been doing the buyout option because their people haven't been showing up. Like for my Freon split system claim, the guy said he would be coming out at a certain time but he never came out. He never called either. I finally got in touch with him three days later and said I would just go with my own person instead of him making me waste my time with this. The warranty company said it would be covered. I can get the receipt and the bill, and take care of it myself. That option has seemed to be less hassle for me. It won't be that way for everybody but I work in the service industry so I know a lot of people from a lot of different jobs that would come out and do things the day I asked them.

I called 2-10 about a month ago to deal with the Freon split system and they told me they were gonna be doing one thing. But when I called back yesterday, I had to go a completely different route. And because I don't like the people that they send out, I called this time with the intention of getting them to let me do the buyout option. I dealt with 2-10 before and they did a great job. I called and they gave me the money, and it ended up going well.

My furnace continuously runs. I submitted a claim over the phone to 2-10 Home Buyers. Though that process was easy, and the person whom I worked with was helpful because of the fact that the contractors went without me being there, the problem is not fixed. The contractor never even told me that they came out January 31st. I then contacted them February 12th because I didn't know they had been out. They only sent the receipt via email. 2-10 should have followed up with me too. I'm not really happy with any of the things that happened.

I submitted a claim for my furnace through 2-10, and it took me a month to have heat so that didn't make me happy. The contractor told me the issue was my circuit board and it was gonna be two weeks for them to get that on order because they had to go through the warranty company for it. Once that came, they told me that wasn't just the only part. It turned out that the gas valve went and that would be another two weeks. When I asked why they couldn't get the part, they said they couldn't just buy it and chargeback. So I was without heat for an entire month because of that.

We also had a claim out for our garage door opener and that took almost a month to get fixed because someone dropped the ball and lost our claim so I'm not thrilled of them. I finally had to go back through the company to get a hold of the garage door guy, because we've been assigned but I didn't get any response. And when he finally got a hold of me, he apologized profusely that I haven't been contacted, and told me that somehow he didn't get the information. I was waiting for two weeks then we had to wait a couple of days because that part was so old.

The latest claim we had was a giant leak in the shower valve. And the plumber guy was out here in a jiff. He was fantastic. That was the best experience. I missed half of that day but he was out here quickly and got the whole thing fixed. In fact, once the claim for that was put in, the plumber called me within 10 minutes of me putting in the claim. I was incredibly impressed after the first two incidents.

We have a heating system gas claim with 2-10 and it has been going since October. We did a lot of renovations on our house and we had a company that was familiar with the house because they had helped us refurbish it. They had done all the maintenance and made sure that everything was going properly and cleaned properly, and they had mentioned that it is possible that the particular unit might need to be replaced. When it got very cold, it would shut off. It would still continue to heat as long as it was mild even around the 30s, but when it would get down really cold to around 10s, it would turn off.

If the weather is mild, it is fine because the unit continues to produce heat, but on very cold nights, it is very uncomfortable. The unit heats my daughter’s bedroom and our master suite area. We may go to sleep and it is still working, but then it gets really cold in the middle of the night. And then it freezes and stops. Then, we wake up and you can see your breath in the bathroom. It has been very disappointing. We called a few times and the company sent a gentleman out. They worked up some things and ordered some parts. They had thought they had fixed it, but it continued to be a problem, so they were sent back out. They came three times and tried to do different things, but it was never fixed.

The last time that the particular company came out, the guy said, “It looks like that it's the damper system, but I opened it completely, so it should work completely until we receive that part because this is the problem.” He took that out of the equation and it was supposed to work completely fine. However, it continued to shut off, which meant that the damper system was not even the problem. 2-10 had denied the claim because any zoning is not included in the coverage, but the zoning is clearly not the problem since it had continued to fail even when the particular damper was taken out of commission. So, it should have worked properly.

After a lot of back and forth, I was told that I was definitely able and welcome to get a second opinion. I had American Heating and Cooling come out. They also have plumbing and they said that there was a particular part that was clogged and it needed to be replaced. Ultimately, they would recommend replacing the whole unit because of the age of the unit. They had seen issues where they replaced one part and it ended up being more expensive for the insurance company because they ended up replacing all of the parts piece by piece instead of replacing the whole item. But after the tech had talked with 2-10 multiple times, it was clear that the process may need to go where I may possibly cash out the claim for the coverage of the particular part, the heat exchanger.

The tech had talked to the manager at that time and the manager said, “I understand everything. This is as far as I can go with you.” They also said that I would need to call 2-10 so that they could get the whole process started. I called 2-10 and after a lot of back and forth, they said, “We have no notes at all. We're so sorry. There's no information here. And so can you have the contractor call us back again?” They were asking me what the diagnosis was at that time. I told them I didn't know how to look into it, but I'd ask the contractor to give them a callback.

Finally, Harry, the guy with American Heating and Cooling, said he was gonna come to our house and we'd call them together. We explained everything together on speaker during a call and the lady rep started a new claim. She said that because Harry’s opinion was different than what David with Action and Cooling had recommended, I would have to have a third opinion. So, they put me in touch with Frank with Franklin Heating and Cooling, and he is supposed to give a diagnosis.

I asked the lady when I spoke with her if Harry could be here present so that he could answer or even point Frank in the right direction what the unit is doing and answer any questions because I don’t know the technicality when people ask me questions about the unit. She said yes and that it was totally fine if I wanted to do that. So, Harry met me here and I explained things to Frank, and all of us went upstairs to look at the unit. I let Harry speak the more technical terms, then Frank took it from there and they exchanged information just in case that would be necessary to answer any other questions. I've never experienced such a long diagnosis process. There was a whole lot of hoops to jump through, which I understand, but I'm a little disappointed that it has been such a process considering this all started with a stab in the dark by the first contractor in October. I would not recommend 2-10.

It was nice to get through on the phone to talk to someone versus having to wait or being cut-off like I was when I had my other home warranty with our last house. When we had a claim, a repairman came out and looked at everything on our oven. The first time, Bosch wasn't open or out for training so he wasn't able to get any assistance and any diagnostic information.

The second time he came out, he pulled everything out then called in and talked with the people at Bosch. The third time that he came out he finally was said a replacement part was not available and we probably needed to get replacement oven. The guy came out three times for us to finally figure that out. That was a little annoying but I don't think it was anything that 2-10 did. That was just the repair person. The guy then told me to contact 2-10 back. I did the buyout option with 2-10 because that what was gonna be best for us.

We've had numerous repair claims that needed to be done to the house that were not covered for minute reasons not specified in the contract. We had roof leaks that took over six weeks to repair because they didn’t wanna pay for certain things. It was a $200 repair. We had our heat go out during an ice storm here. The temperature was 5 degrees and we got it fixed after hours. They were supposed to reimburse us for that service given it was an emergency situation but they denied our claim.

They have a program and you just request claims online. we normally do that then they would send out someone within a couple of days. Usually, someone will call you, but I've had times that have not been good and I had to call back. We had an incident where our air conditioner broke and it was going to be 12 days before we could get service. The temperature was over 100 degrees in the summertime here in Louisville. We had to get that fixed on our own and we ended up paying for it ourselves. We have not really been thrilled with their service.

I’ve been with 2-10 for quite some time. It started when I purchased another home with my mother. My Windermere agent gave us a year’s subscription with 2-10 as a ‘Thank You’ for purchasing. I was so pleased with 2-10 that when I bought the home that I'm in, I went ahead and purchased it at the same time. But sometimes it’s difficult to get somebody that’s in their network to come work on something.

When I submit claims, I call and their reps dispatch somebody in the area that does the work. And then the contractor calls me and set up an appointment. Then they come and analyze what needs to be done. The contractor calls 2-10 for authorization to do the work, and then I pay them $65 deductible. They do the work and then leave. It has been successful that way until we got piled with snow here.

Everything went fine with my claims for the electrical and with my heater. But during the third incident when my shower was leaking they ordered a part, but the part leaked. So, they reordered the part and it was held up over in Sequim because of the snow. That was last week. I haven’t heard from anybody as to when it will be done, and I’m leaving for a month. So, I’ve been without water in my shower now for almost two months. But other than that, I’ve been very pleased with what has happened.

The first contractor who came on my plumbing was good, and whoever the fella was that came and did my electrical was fantastic. I haven’t been displeased with any of the services that I’ve gotten. And with the contractors that 2-10 has, I’m amazed at the customer service that they give because people just don’t find that anymore. But they can’t help parts like when the wire burned off inside my power box. The fella who came was so gracious to go ahead and get me fixed up. Even though he didn’t have the part, he at least got me back in service, and then came back and finished the job, which I thought was nice.

I had to contact the contractor because 2-10 didn’t have anybody in the whole Seattle area that could do that work, which really shocked me that in a metropolis like this, 2-10 wouldn’t have somebody contracted to do the work. I had to pay the technician upfront, which fortunately I had the money to pay, and then filed a claim and be reimbursed. That worked out okay in the end. It was about four weeks later that I got reimbursed the check.

But I understand why a lot of service people don’t sign up with 2-10. It’s a hassle for them. They come and analyze what needs to be done, then they have to wait. And sometimes, both the service people that come and I will have to wait on hold for 40 minutes to an hour to get a hold of somebody, and then get put on hold. These service people do not have time to sit and wait for somebody to talk to. Whoever is doing the work, they’re sitting there waiting, and time is money for them. So if 2-10 increases the number of reps and time is maybe broken down to a 5 to 10 minutes hold instead of 20 to 40 minutes, they would probably have a lot more companies that would sign on to do the work for them. But other than that, I have many times recommended 2-10. It’s a huge saving, so I would still recommend them. There are just some fine tweaks that would be helpful.

2-10 was provided by the company which built our home, and we migrated over to them and extended the same warranty that we had. The online process when submitting a claim has been good but it might be helpful if you could select your own vendor. I’ve had issues with people making appointments and not showing up, people coming in and trying to sell us other add-on services or ridiculous prices and people not doing the work that was supposed to be done.

We had a terrible experience recently where we called somebody the following New Year's and our air conditioning system had gone out. They told us we needed a new part and they were gonna contact 2-10 to find out if they were authorized to put in that new part. We were waiting and never heard anything. Finally, I submitted another request to have them follow up and we just had it completed last week after a ridiculous go-around with both the repair company and 2-10. There were a lot of gaps. The communication and interaction with the reps were very defensive at first. I ended up getting service because I went on LinkedIn and sent an email to the CEO of the company. I asked him if he would tolerate this kind of service if it was his home. Suddenly, I got better responsiveness, but even then, it was awful.

We've had a number of issues with our air conditioning service and we've only had the house for seven years. We have three different units and they were trying to tell us that we were gonna have to pay about $300 for additional services. With the $75 service fee, it was gonna be about $350 and they said that I didn’t have to take the add-on. At the end of the day, I went online, talked to some HVAC repair people and for the smallest unit of the three, the range of cost to replace what they wanted to replace was between $400 and $1,000. I was going to end up paying what it would've cost me if I just called a repair company out of the blue and ask them to come and take a look at it and repair it.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was linked to the house by the seller when we bought it and we've had it for almost a year and a half. We were given two years of coverage and we are planning to renew with 2-10. Submitting claims through their company has been really easy. We call and let them know that something is going on, and they send somebody out to look at it. Then, the person who comes out is the one who decides if something needs to be replaced or not, or fixed, or how it works. They take care of everything and we don't even have to do much after that.

I submit my claims over the phone because their website is a little confusing. When you log in to the homepage, there aren't very many options. What it shows you is your service, but it is confusing to read what you have. We had full coverage on everything in the first year, then we had minimal coverage in the second year. When we lost certain features, they were still listed, but 2-10 said they don’t actually cover that year. The homepage needs to be updated. There is no drop down menu system and it is not very easy to maneuver through. Someone needs to look at it and simplify it a bit more. I ended up calling and it has been super easy to get a hold of somebody.

We've had two very friendly contractors, so far, and we've gotten really lucky with them. We had a plumbing issue the first time and the plumber came out. He was super nice. He and my husband got along really well. The contractor told 2-10 we needed to replace our sump pump. He replaced it for us with their warranty and it cost us 100 bucks to replace the sump pump, which was a $1,000 fix. The other contractor that came in was super friendly as well. We haven't had any issue with any of the contractors. The overall quality of the work has been great. 2-10 saved us quite a bit of money. We bought a house that we thought was ready and didn't need any work, but within the first couple of weeks, the plumbing went on us and we put a lot of money into it trying to keep it up, so having the warranty has been nice.

I have had coverage with 2-10 Home Buyers for a year and I’m not happy with them at all. Recently I filed a claim for the icemaker and refrigerator, and they never got fixed. The water was dispensing but it had a weird taste. I ran the filters in it but nothing worked. I knew it was not from the water itself because we had everything else in the water line and the sink. I can drink it from our sink and it tasted better than from the fridge. I have spent the whole time for every single claim and 2-10 never sent anybody out.

It also takes a while for somebody to get back at me when I talk to customer service. It was not worth it. I tried to find somebody to fix it and I had to pay for it upfront. I am hoping to get reimbursed by 2-10 but it takes a lot longer. I also do not know how much it is gonna cost to fix. I just have to wait for it right now. The whole point of having a warranty is having a deductible that I pay then have it fixed but it never worked that way.

I've submitted three claims with them and I've had a good experience thus far. I called over the phone to submit my claims and two of them have been automated. They dispatched contractors out in the same day for the last two claims. For the last time claim I had, it took long for them to receive the part as well as to fix the issue. Nevertheless, after things were fixed, we didn’t an issue anymore.

We've had 2-10 since July. It came with our house when we purchased it. When submitting a claim, everything was fine on the 2-10 part. The overall process was easy. For my claim, a female technician came in and she had a male apprentice with her. That was interesting and I was surprised by that. But she was good. My only frustration is the amount of time it takes for the claim. The contractor is taking forever. My appliance is still not fixed. I have to wait another week for them to come and put the parts in that they ordered. When the part came in and I was called to schedule a visit, the closest was two weeks out. It'll be close to a month by the time the appliance actually gets fixed.

2-10 has been our home warranty for 15 years. I usually call in and talk to an agent and then I put in the claim and then the contractors call me within 24 hours or 48 hours. But I normally call them before they call me. My latest claim was for our furnace and the contractor who came out was professional. He told me what he was doing. He first talked to me and said that we needed to have a new furnace, and I told him I couldn’t afford it. He went on to just tell me that parts were malfunctioning or broken. So, we went from needing a new furnace to then calling and saying that they could replace parts. They’ve already replaced the parts and I don't think the furnace is working 100%, but it’s working.

Having a warranty is a needed thing. But the only complaint I have about the warranty services is every year, it goes up more and more. We started at around $50 a month and now we’re up to $100. When I discussed the rate increase, I haven’t had much success in lowering it or keeping it the same. It always goes up every year. So, consequently, I was looking at some other warranty companies that would do more reasonably because I’m on a fixed income, so I don’t really have that much money to spend on a warranty company. But other than that, 2-10 is a good company.

I bought the warranty from 2-10 when I bought the house in August 2018. The broker came up with the name and I just went with it, however, I don't think that was the right choice for me because every time I have a problem, 2-10 doesn't have someone within the network and I have to find my own and pay them. And before any work has been done, the contractors had to call and explain and 2-10 gotta approve it. I get it fixed, I pay, then I have to wait for the money, and it's just too much. That situation has been nine times out of 10.

I call in to submit my claims because their website is not easy to operate and I'm completely not happy with the customer service. There are those times putting back and forth and if the technician has to explain the work, a number has to be called. And if I have any questions, then a number has to be called. It is annoying and I am dissatisfied.

Filed a claim, after doing so Website states, (you will be contacted during Monday-Friday by the contractors normal business hours for service). We tried to be smart and not risk further water issues to our house and since it was the weekend we went out and bought a replacement tank... No harm no foul right. Well with all the photos and evidence of a bad tank 2-10 wouldn't even consider any reimbursement for the new tank. I guess we should have dealt with a bad leaking, brown water smelling tank, and had more damage done to our floors waiting on the contractor. What a sorry service to have. Sadly it is almost time for us to renew and I highly we will be doing so! This was just terrible!

We have been using 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty over the last eight years. We had them through our real estate agent and then we had just continued using 2-10 while we were at that home. Eventually, we also got one for our new home when we purchased it about three or four years ago. When we initially had them, 2-10 was pretty quick as far as response to any issues that we're having. They were able to send somebody out in a quick and timely manner. It wasn't overly expensive annually for us to buy the warranty either, let alone the deductible. We were able to get that at a decent price too.

Submitting claims to them has been easy because I can just go online and do it. It's pretty user-friendly. However, they ask a lot of information that I'm not necessarily sure where to get because every system or appliance is different. Also, they don't necessarily have a way that describes where you can get the information from and it's kinda hard to find that information out. I understand why they're only doing that because based on what we're describing the issue to be, they can have the technician already have the necessary parts that they need when they come here.

The technicians that they normally sent out are local companies, which is good, because they use local small businesses to do the contract work. It has been great having these companies come out. Thus far, I have recommended 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty to people, whether they're in the process of buying a home, they're in an older home, or looking for something to help with cost adjustment and trying to fix things in their home.

About five times, the assigned contractor did not contact me right away or did not contact me at all. 2-10 had to continue looking for more people who also didn't contact me. I've experienced some several nightmares where they couldn't find anyone and I have to deal with the problem myself. The contractors would take like three weeks to actually show up, and by only giving me a very short, couple of minute notice that they were in the neighborhood. Overall, their selection of contractors has not been great. 2-10 should improve the quality of their contractors and their responsiveness.

It takes minutes or just an hour and then I get an email with an assigned contractor. Then I wait until the next morning for the contractor to open up and they were there for me in the morning or in the afternoon trying to schedule a service. The technicians were kind of hit or miss. Some of them are good companies while some of them are not professional. If I had a bad experience with a company, I call 2-10 back and tell them to send somebody else. Some of the reps seemed to be okay with changing and assigning to a different contractor and some of them are not. Most of time though, the quality of work that was performed is good.

Our water bill shot up because there was a leak somewhere in the house that was not causing any visible water damage. We filed a claim with 2-10 and they had a plumber come out. He looked at the issue and he couldn't figure out what it was. He told us that we needed the outside valve for the house fixed, as it wasn't covered under the warranty, and once that was done, they could come back, do a test for a diagnosis, and then go from there. We then got the valve fixed and we called the contractor back. I don't know if there was a miscommunication between that contractor and 2-10, but the contractor told me that he couldn't do it.

I had to argue with 2-10 to get someone else to come out. They told me that they couldn't have someone diagnose the problem and that we needed to know where the leak was before they could send someone. We then got our own contractor to say exactly what the issue was and what needed to be fixed but then I had to argue with 2-10 again because they were upset that we went to another contractor. Ultimately they told us that since the issue was a leak in a pipe inside the house, it would be covered.

They sent a contractor out, who was really shady-seeming, and we paid the service fee. However, that contractor didn't look at anything. My husband told him what our contractor had said the issue was, and he said it was a slab leak in our house. That, however, was not true since we didn't have any underground plumbing. He also told us that the only way to fix the issue was to pay $400 for a test that wouldn't even work and then to have the entire house replumbed. 2-10 would only knock $1,000 off of that. He also told us that they take payments, but we have to pay half upfront and then, we have to predate the checks. That destroyed our faith in any plumber 2-10 might send out.

It was extra frustrating because when our water heater went out and leaked a couple of months after we bought the house, 2-10 was super easy to deal with and they sent a perfectly fine plumber who took care of the issue quickly and did a nice job. I also had my toilet tank fixed in late October and it was also fine. Then, we had this major issue, and it was a couple of weeks of phone call arguments. They were really difficult to work with and we ended up having to go with a contractor of our own that we paid out of pocket. We're stopping our contract with 2-10 at the end of our first year.

I put in my request online on a Friday, and after about an hour of doing it, I heard from the contractor. They did their best to get my heating up and running that evening. But unfortunately, it needed to be fully replaced. So, they said that they would be with me first thing Monday morning. Monday morning, by 8:30, I had a phone call from the contractor who gave me an update on the claim. And then, by 11 o'clock, they had given me a call just to let me know that everything was approved and they would be out that evening.

I just wish 2-10 had text updates when things move along in the process. That would be like getting a text that says the process has been started and the contractor has been contacted. That would be easier. I think they do it via email, but those updates would be helpful to people who were in an emergency situation like I was. Nevertheless, the process was very easy and the online submission is very intuitive. Plus, they got everything corrected very quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

Submitting a claim online was fine and straightforward. On the other hand, it's a little painful and takes forever to get somebody on the line when I have to call. However, when I get a rep on the phone, our interactions were good most of the time. And when they give a time frame on when to expect a contractor, it would always be within a day or two.

I had a faucet issue that 2-10's contractors tried to fix. They had to come back with a part, but they still couldn't fix it. They let 2-10 know that it was broken and needed to be replaced. However, it wasn’t resolved correctly and the contractor just put all this on me instead of accepting responsibility for it. The faucet's still broken and I’m waiting for the new one to be installed. 2-10 had to order the parts and once those come in, they'd reach out to schedule the time to install it. So even though there had been some issues in terms of not following through on a claim and not handling it to the best of their ability, some of the issues have worked out well.

When we bought the house, the Realtor put 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty in then the seller paid for it. We have it for almost two years now and as far as submitting claim go, it has been super easy. I would submit claims online then call in multiple times after that. However, our experience has not been very positive thus far. The first time we submitted a claim, we had an issue with our dishwasher a while back and it was fine. But then in the last two months, we had the water heater go out and the furnace stars to go out in the same couple of weeks. The water heater took almost two weeks to get fixed and we had a lot of terrible communication with 2-10.

The service contractors were great. The first guy that came out to look at the water heater was from Air Plumbing. He looked at it and said it was rusted out, old and unsafe that we needed a new one. They submitted the claim to 2-10 then we never talked to them again because the furnace started going out before the water heating had even been ordered. They told us that something was getting ordered one day. But then it took them three days then they told us that it wasn’t ordered yet.

We ended up just taking a payout at the end because it was gonna be cheaper for us to take it and pay the additional couple of hundred dollars that we have to pay with 2-10. We paid somebody else to put the water heater in because we were so frustrated in having such a terrible time. We got somebody out to look at the furnace, Jake's Heating and Plumbing, and they were awesome. The guy was super nice. He told us, explained everything, and we ended up using them for our plumber as well to put in a new water heater. They were super and they seemed trustworthy. The water heater took at least 10 days to get resolved. I'm not gonna be renewing with 2-10.

Whoever answers the phone when you're gonna put the claim at 2-10 thinks that you have read the contract. My refrigerator was making a noise and apparently, it was the icemaker. I put in the claim and they selected who was gonna be going. And for the first time, I got the call from the contractor within 10 minutes after I put the claim. The contractor went here and checked everything.

15 days have passed after he left, no one would contact me and I was waiting, waiting, and waiting. I placed a call at 2-10 and started asking when is the guy coming back. I told the rep that he was gonna order a part. That's when the rep said that the ice maker isn't covered. He then tried to give me a hard time pretending that I knew the icemaker was not covered. He even asked if I don't read my contract. I had to stop him and tell that he was ridiculous, absurd, and if I knew that my ice maker's not gonna be covered, why am I gonna pay 75 bucks? I had to tell him that I was expecting my 75 back. He told me that they would send it to me. Overall, 2-10 has terrible customer service, my experience has not been nice at all and I’m stuck with them.

I like the way that 2-10 keep their word and their commitment. When I have an issue with my house, I call them. I'd rather explain the problem to the customer service, and then they send me the right technician. I didn't have an issue until the last technician for the air conditioner came. 2-10 was supposed to share with them the payment for Freon since the Freon was low on my AC. Up until today, I haven't seen the technician or get a call from 2-10. The people at 2-10 told me that the Freon is covered on my warranty, but I think that 2-10 did not agree with the payment with the technician. Also, 2-10's site could be improved by being able to get access with someone any time a client wants. Moreover, 2-10 should call before they get whatever they're up to. But other than those, I've been with 2-10 since 2016 and the experience with them has been good.

When submitting a claim to 2-10, my wife has handled all of it and their process was good. Their contractors are fairly professional and that is satisfactory as far as it goes. 80% of them comes out of time and communicate well. But there was one contractor we had that was not professional and we couldn’t count on him to come out when he said he would. But we’ve had some experiences with some other ones that had been good. Although sometimes they are unable to find the problem and fix some things, it worked okay. Anything we’ve asked about has been very simple and things have been fixed timely, but sometimes it wasn't.

I've been with 2-10 when I purchased the house a month and a half ago. I have had two issues with them. The first one was for plumbing and everything went fine on that. The pipe was clogged and everything was taken care of. The plumbers were very professional. The other issue was for the stove. When I moved in to the house, the house passed the inspection and the stove was working. However, the stove has stopped working so that was when we called the warranty. Somebody came over and the guy said that the stove needed to be replaced. He could not make it work. Then somebody else called me and said that the claim was denied because it was too old. But that was not in the agreement that it was not covered. I don't think that was fair and I don't think that that should be denied.

Another thing that bothered me was the comment the lady that I spoke to said. She said that they already paid too much money for the plumbing and that they only cover up to $1,000. She made me feel like that was the reason why they were not covering the stove even though they were two different issues. As a consumer, that was not my fault. 2-10 shouldn't hire people that would call and dictate what is gonna happen. I'm satisfied with everything else, except for that lady.

I've had 2-10 since 2015. It was a recommendation made by the Realtor at that time. He had used them a couple of times with other clients so I decided to see how they are. I hadn't had an issue with them but it seems like the last couple of months have been pretty rocky. I feel like they weren't really doing a lot of listening. They weren’t inputting what they thought the problem was and not really listening from a customer standpoint and it's ridiculous.

I had an issue that started in December regarding my kitchen sink and my washer and it started off as a leak. I called 2-10 and they weren’t really listening to the issue because they were saying that something needed to be snaked. The first company that they dispatched came out and the gentleman snaked my kitchen sink. He turned my washer on and it continued to spill the water. Also, we mentioned something about looking in the crawl space and he didn’t really want to look into it.

After he left, he notified both us and the warranty people that he felt like it was best if we have a hydro jetting treatment done. I felt like that was a bit extreme. As a plumber, he hadn't even addressed the whole plumbing system and had not even looked at the pipes but he was gonna say I needed hydro jetting which was not even covered by the warranty. And outside of it not being covered, it was an initial charge of 325 and I will be charged about $200. It just seemed like a whole bunch for somebody that hasn’t even thoroughly done their due diligence to look all way around. All he did was snake the sink and cut the washer. I was not impressed there.

When I called the contractor's office, they were willing to send another technician out. And the lady I talked to understood my complaint about their technician not willing to look in my crawl space because another thing he noted on his summary of what was found was that he couldn't find the cleanout. He didn’t even attempt to find a cleanout and I'm paying them $75 to come out and evaluate what my issue is and fix it. The day they were supposed to come back out, they talked to 2-10. Next thing I know, I got a voicemail from 2-10 saying they finally spoke with the contractor and that they were recommending the hydro jetting. I was confused. I thought we were getting somebody else to come out to look in the crawl space to assess the piping.

I called the contractor's office back and I asked what was going on. The rep said that, unfortunately, their owner spoke with 2-10 and they didn’t feel like it was necessary for them to look in the crawl space at the piping. That was unfair to me. I didn’t think I need hydro jetting and I wanted a second opinion. So, I called 2-10 Home Warranty again and this time, the rep said he could dispatch another plumber for that same ticket but I was gonna be responsible for the $75 fee again. I was taken back by that comment a little bit because the representative that I spoke to from the first contractor's office told me that they had done a couple of recalls where they came out behind a company and they didn't collect a fee. But I told him I would pay the fee if that was what it would take.

It was set up for Thomas Plumbing who's another plumbing company that 2-10 uses. I didn't hear anything from this company for 48 hours and this started on a Tuesday. I called the company on Friday and they said they could come out on Monday. I said okay so, they scheduled. My mom called them to see if they were on their way and the young lady the guy was on his way but they never showed up. We called them several times and they never answer the phone. We never heard anything back from Thomas Plumbing.

I'm utterly disgusted because the first person that 2-10 sent me did not evaluate my whole plumbing system or find my cleanout and the second person they dispatched to me, after telling me I have to pay a fee, didn’t even show up. I called back and asked for a third company. We were about three weeks into this then. The third company came out and the guy found my cleanout. He stated that it was located on my roof and recommended that the snake can be done from there. But he said his company wasn’t equipped to snake from the roof and he said to contact 2-10 and they would locate a company that is able to do so.

So, I called the warranty people again and they were in the process of dispatching another company, Service Mechanical of Tidewater. A little bit after setting the appointment up, I got a call from 2-10 and said the company isn't equipped to snake from the roof either. We're gonna then have to submit paperwork to go out the network. This was like four weeks in. I said okay and they were gonna still look on a network for me, but they also encouraged me to look myself, so that I could kinda speed up the process. They never got back with me about finding a company for me and I was finding different plumbers.

I was also telling them, in the mix of talking to the other plumbers, that they should have looked at my plumbing pipes. No one addressed my pipes at all. Then, when I finally got it fixed, with no help from 2-10, the cleanout for the roof had nothing to do with the cleanout for my kitchen sink. It had nothing to do with my kitchen sink nor my washer. It was crazy.

Also, the fourth contractor sent by 2-10 stated that there was no vent. He said it was a ventilation issue and there was no vent from my washer and dryer. There was a studor vent that was put on my kitchen sink, but studor vents are supposed to only go for piping that's only about five feet long. But the studor vent was put on to be functional for both my washer and my kitchen sink. There was about a good 10-foot distance between the two. The studor vent for my kitchen sink failed causing my kitchen sink to back up and there was no vent for my washer. So, even if someone did hypothetically come out and snake from the roof, that would have just been for my bathroom which I was having no issue with from the get-go.

There was nobody even willing to look in the crawl space that 2-10 set me out and it pissed me off because from the very beginning, even though they noted that it needed to be snaked, they also noted that there was an issue on the crawl space, but nobody looked in the crawl space other than the guy that I hired myself. And he had to take apart some of the plumbing pipes and clean them out. He had to add a vent. The last company that 2-10 sent me to did encourage me to get a vent added to my washer which included a wall being cut out and a vent being placed. But I had to independently find somebody to do that.

Before the fourth person even came out with 2-10, they said that they were allowing me to go out of the network but they were only willing to give me $150 to work going out the network. And to me, that was a slap in my face, because for me to even get somebody to come out and evaluate, that's at least $75 right there. It was like 2-10 was only roughly giving $75 to work whatever needs to be done, when they get a direct deposit from me every month of $66. They get paid regardless if anything go right or wrong in the house and then they send me people who don’t want to thoroughly look into what's going on and at the end of the day, they're willing to give me $150 to work what needs to be fixed, when it takes $75 for them to come out and look at it.

Overall, the project cost me $400 to get fixed. The guy fixed my piping, placed the vent behind my washer which he had to cut my wall out to do that, and replaced the vent to the kitchen sink. But I was really upset at how it went. And with the last call that went out to even get the man to come out from 2-10, the dispatcher that I talked to was very unprofessional. I was repeating my frustration about what was going on and how I wasn’t pleased that they ignored my request to have somebody look in the crawl space. She said, "Well, with all due respect, we sent professionals out there and if they didn’t feel it was necessary, then maybe it wasn’t necessary for them to look in your crawl space." And she was laughing with a coworker in the background. I felt like it was condescending and that she was minimizing the distress that that caused in my household, not being able to use my kitchen sink and my washer for almost two months.

2-10 needs to reevaluate their training because the dispatchers weren’t listening. The issue was a leakage problem from the get-go but yet, it got being put in a snaking. My issue could've been fixed way before now. Also, with the lack of professionalism of the lady laughing the background with her coworker, I wouldn't recommend this company to anybody. For you to put this money out effortlessly monthly and for them to ignore your requests and your concerns about what's going on, I wouldn't want anybody else having $60 something taken out of their account every month for a company that's not gonna send them reputable contractors and who's gonna take them seriously. I don't know how long I have on whatever contract I'm spending with them, but I don’t plan on using them anymore.

I submitted a claim one time and I did it on the mobile website, and it was simple to do it. However, there were a few nitpicky things that they couldn’t cover. The plumber that came out couldn’t do some things because they weren't covered. I had a leak under my sink and had a bit of water damage with the cabinet. I submitted a claim hoping everything could get fixed with the warranty based on our plumber who can do home restoration and wood repairs, but it was a waste of time. I replaced two pieces of PVC pipe, which I could have done for about $12. Other than that, the technicians that they sent out were very nice and knew what they were talking about.

2-10 is quick to respond, but as a homeowner, it's frustrating that the hours that the company offers and the hours that normal people work are the same, so there’s no option for them to come even as late as 5 o’ clock. They tell you that they will, but they don't. They expect me to be here at 1 o’ clock. If I work a full-time job, taking off once for them to come out and tell them what's wrong, and then taking off again for them to come and fix it a few days later is really hard to do. There are no hours where they try to work with you, which is the most frustrating part. The recent service contractor that came was not the most intelligent person. He asked me all kinds of questions about the product, then he asked me to show him where it was leaking from. I knew how to take the part off and I could have fixed it and not paid them. It was a waste of my time because he made me show him where the problem was and he didn't look. It was silly to me.

My mother-in-law has 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and she has had good experience with her stuff. I also lived with her a few times and I saw what 2-10 took care of. And when they couldn’t find somebody, they would subcontract somebody out. That happened a lot of times with my mother-in-law’s AC but she found a good person for the AC and they treated her well. So I wanted to have that for my own house. I can also save money by using it. On my first experience with 2-10, I called about the plumbing and it worked out well. The contractor, Five Star Plumbing, did a really good job. But the second time did not work out too well. I called 2-10 on a Friday and it took all the way until Wednesday of the next week for me to have somebody come out here. Nobody could use the toiler until the contractor could come out. I was lucky I had another toilet in another room that was working all right. It would still flush. But I was inconvenienced.

Five Star Plumbing couldn’t handle my claim in a timely manner so I found somebody else. But the company I found, Roto-Rooter, was not a good company at all. Their customer service was terrible and when they left, I still had an issue with my toilet. Then they tried to say they were gonna charge me $125 to come back out. I felt like they were just ripping me off and I ended up fixing it myself. If 2-10 could’ve had Five Star come out again, I would’ve been really happy. Still, I recommend 2-10 to my friends. But I tell them to be careful when they choose their own contractor to come out. 2-10 holds their contractors to a higher standard and whenever I have to find my own contractor, I tell them that they know who to pick. I’m a first-time homeowner so I don’t know who to pick. 2-10's customer service is great though. When I call them, they walk me through the process.

Calling in my claim has been easy and the response I get from their contractors has been fine. But I'm not really happy with the quality of work. I’ve had some difficulty here in Arizona. I’ve told them several times to not send me the pool company guy who kept telling me everything is shot and the pool needs to be dug up. They look for stuff that seems to be not covered by the policy, instead of doing the work. He misdiagnosed 3 times and 2-10 won’t send a different one out.

Last year, they gave us a new fridge, and the ice maker went out. The guy came out and put another ice maker in. He said it was probably something else and he never came back. Right now, we also have a refrigerator issue. The selection of contractors here is substandard. It's about my renewal period, and I have to really think about it. It’s all about location. In Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads area, the contractors were amazing. But here, they are less than amazing. They need to interview their contractors a little bit better and do some homework on them.

Up until three weeks ago, my experience with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty had been great. I have a six-month-old, and it's been very cold in Texas over the last week with temperatures in the 20s, and my heater has not been working. I had a claim placed and a service contractor came out and said that he fixed something. That morning, I woke up and it was 63 degrees in the house. It was very cold and my infant was cold which I didn’t like. I texted the guy back and told him that while I appreciated him for coming out, unfortunately, my heater has not been fixed. He came back and said that my heater needed to be replaced. It would keep having an issue and it could go out completely.

So we got hold of 2-10, and they processed everything. I spoke with an individual on the phone and she ensured that the part had been ordered and that the confirmation was already given to the service contractor and the service contractor confirmed. She told me that as soon as the part was ready to pick, I would get it and then it would be installed. We haven’t heard anything. Seven days went by so I called. It was getting ridiculous. We were having these space heaters in the house, and I didn’t like putting just a regular space heater in my baby's room because there was a risk of a fire.

The rep told me that the order was not processed correctly, and they haven't ordered anything for me. I voiced my displeasure to a very great extent. But still, I don’t have it. They're gonna be installing them a month later. They also admitted their fault. In fact, the rep was very clear that they made a mistake. They would even do some coaching and training. In addition to that, they are refunding the service fee which was $70. They also gave me $150 to buy heaters. So, I went and bought the type of heaters that I had grown up. They are like oil heaters and they're a lot safer which has allowed us to keep the house warm enough.

He explained what was wrong, what part he replaced and everything that he did. He also told me that it would take a while for the water heater to fill all the way back up, but I was very surprised that it was quick. Everything has been performing great since then. Overall, it’s relieving to know that if I have anything wrong, I just have to pay $100 for somebody to come out. But our biggest fear was that if we didn’t have a warranty and needed to replace our water heater, it wouldn’t be as expensive as it would be with the warranty.

I've been with 2-10 for about three years now, and I either go online or call them when I file a claim. And while it's easier to do it online, I don’t like that it never tells you what is not covered. Their customer service team is good. They are nice, friendly and somewhat professional. Most of the technicians, however, are probably the ones who are at the bottom of their profession. Better technicians don’t want to sign up with this type of warranty services, and only those technicians whose business is not doing great would sign up. I understand that. Nevertheless, the issues are always taken care of. But if 2-10 could get better people who are more responsive, that would be really nice.

2-10's website is good but they’re a pain to work with in terms of the flexibility around what they’ll cover and what's not covered. We had a problem with our icemaker and we ended up getting to a settlement agreement with them, which is fine but it took about six times that a guy kept coming up and replacing things. At that point, we were having a baby and we needed an ice machine for my wife and the icemaker wasn't working all the time. But beyond that piece, their people were good and the people that they've sent have been top-notch and very capable. 2-10 is a good value and I'd recommend them. They're good to work with.

If they say they're gonna fix one particular thing, then they should fix everything that goes along with that compartment. Other than that, I like 2-10 a lot and I haven't had any problems.

My experience submitting a claim to 2-10 hasn't been fun. Last year, my furnace went up and a guy came out, and he made the wrong diagnosis on it. Several other furnace people came over and said as soon as he saw soot coming out of the gas furnace, he should have known that some part was cracked and that the furnace needed to be replaced. I wasted a week and a half with them trying to get me another company out to say the same thing. Then, I had to wait another two weeks before I got my furnace put in.

This past claim was a washing machine and the company that 2-10 used only has one technician, so it took a week for my part to come in. After the part came in, the company didn't come back out to redo the washing machine for four weeks. It was ridiculous that when I called and told 2-10 what some of the problems I ran into were, they can’t get in touch with another company and make it an urgent business to get it taken care of. They just basically say sorry and that there's nothing they can do.

I’ve been with 2-10 for many years and as a real estate agent, I used to sell their products. But from the way they’ve been handling their calls, I can’t suggest to my buyers to use them because I don't want that as a reflection of me. I pay for their service, and they’re not taking care of their end in a timely manner. It didn't use to be this way, but in the past couple of years, it’s gotten horrible. Some of the companies that they use for a contract are not some of the best companies.

I submitted a claim for my air conditioner that was broken and the process was easy. The contractor came out and fixed it. I have replaced appliances before, and 2-10 gives you $100 incentive to do that so that has been nice with their warranty. I wonder however, if the value is worth it or not because with the yearly fee, I'm typically losing money. It's insurance and I am covered, but for the most part, I've definitely spent more than I've taken advantage of. I've had the 2-10 coverage for two and a half years now but I don't know if I'll continue using it. Still, the warranty is good if you have old appliances.

The house we moved into included a one year warranty from 2-10. Once, we had a claim with them for our water heater. It was Friday then and by Tuesday, we got a call from the repair company to set up an appointment. By Wednesday, a guy was here. It took him five hours to get the job done though. It took a really long time to get the pipe fit. He said that that was not usually the case and that he was having trouble with his tools. He was very kind.

I tried submitting this claim online, but the problem wasn't there so, I ended up calling in. Speaking with the reps was easy and they were very friendly. They were trying to explain how the process works and that was when we found out that there was a $70 copay every time. We didn't realize that. We then decided we would cancel our contract and put the extra money we were paying for the insurance into a savings account since a lot of our appliance are brand new and are not dying. If there wasn't a copay, we probably would have kept 2-10.

About two weeks ago, an issue when my garbage disposal came up. When I got the call to make an appointment, I asked the lady at the plumbing company to call me 30 minutes prior to coming over. But I got sick and she actually sent her plumber to my home when I was sick. They were literally in my driveway and I was at the doctor’s office getting something. But it was fine. The lady was apologetic and when I asked if they could come out the next week, she said, “Of course.” But then I got called out of town on business and they showed up at the house again without calling.

The lady called me a couple of days later and let me have it. She told me that she had saved my voicemail where I switched the point of time. I told her that yes, that was when I told them I was gonna be out of town and to call my roommate. My roommate was supposed to show up but he was like, “I'm not gonna sit around the house if a company is not gonna call me and tell me when they're gonna be on their way.” And no one called him. But the lady had the audacity to call me and tell me that if they came back to my house, I would have to pay the other fee. She made it sound like we deliberately stood them up and she was quick to point out that I wasn’t there and that I owed her a $75 extra fee. I told her that I didn’t mind paying one fee. It was my kind of fault that my roommate wasn’t there. But I told her that the first time was their fault and I was not paying them two fees.

I even had to relate with her. I told her that my dad is a contractor and she said, “Well, with your dad being a contractor, you should know to be in the house if someone comes.” But I told her that my dad always calls his client before coming over. Besides, I specifically asked them to call me. I told her I had no control with me getting sick then she said, “Well, when you're feeling better and your roommate or whoever is there, then you can call us back.” But I thought I didn’t have to deal with her to begin with. I’m not that stupid. I’ve always had a warranty on my house and I was dealing with the warranty company. I called 2-10 and the representative said that the contractor was not gonna charge them and to let them know if the contractor overcharged us. I told the rep that I almost didn’t wanna deal with the contractor but I would call and reschedule. I did call but the contractor never called me back.

Gwendolyn from 2-10 called me a week ago and asked if the garbage disposal had gotten fixed. I said that it was still broken. She told me that the lady from the plumbing company had called and complained that I stood them up twice. I guess the lady didn’t know that I had called 2-10 in the interim. I told Gwendolyn it was an absolute lie but that I would use the contractor again because the garbage disposal needed to be fixed. She was a kind young lady and she told me to call them back if I would need another plumber.

But a couple of days later, my dad came by and he reached down in the garbage disposal. I didn’t think he was supposed to do that but he did it. He said that someone had dropped some bolts from the countertop. It fell in the garbage disposal and that was what the grinding noise was. I thought the garbage disposal was bad. But the garbage disposal has been fixed and I never re-called the lady from the plumbing company to reschedule. Based on her attitude, I wouldn’t have used her anyway. But that’s literally the only thing that has happened. Otherwise, I’ve had a good experience with 2-10 and I have been very happy with them.

I submitted a claim for my washer with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty back in January 3 and that was easy. One technician came out to troubleshoot the problem for about an hour and pointed out a gearbox issue. Getting the technician out here took entirely too long though and all the parts have not been delivered. I insisted that the tracking number that I was given by the Sears representative was wrong but the 2-10 rep said it was going to the Crestview address. I pointed out to her that it was going to St. Petersburg. The tracking number showed delivered but I still have no parts at my front door. Dealing with Sears has been a nightmare and the washer is still not fixed for almost a month and a half now.

We are about one load a day as a family as far as laundry. We’re now down to about two loads a week at the laundromat and we’ve spent the $75 service fee at the laundromat by now. The 2-10 rep that I spoke to yesterday made it known to us that he couldn’t even call Sears to find out what was going on and that put me off. I’m curious as to what other service providers that 2-10 has, other than Sears, for this kind of work, because this is almost a deal breaker with me if Sears is the best we can get.

I've had my coverage from 2-10 since I purchased the house about a year ago. The first time I had a claim, a subcontractor came out and resolved the issue where we had some debris that was left in the garbage disposal in the kitchen. They took care of that. The second time is when we had some grout issues in the bathroom. Somehow, water was getting in at the base of the tile, and some particles were getting out of the insulation and eventually clogged it up. When I called in, I mentioned it to the reps and they were telling me that if the grout was missing then we couldn't warranty it. I ended up sealing it myself because no one has come back out to seal it, and I couldn't use my bathroom. My wife was pissed off with me.

And what happened was, the plumber came out to clear it, but it was already cleared because I couldn't have that water sitting in my tub for days. I went ahead and got a plunger and when I plunged it out, all I saw were little debris from the insulation. The plumber told me that since I unclogged it, there was nothing else he could do. We paid $75 for him to come out for nothing, just to confirm what I saw and I was trying to tell them at 2-10. And I was like I didn't wanna deal with them anymore. It was not just the contractors. It was the whole team. They were doing crappy work, and it didn’t make sense. Overall, it sucked. My wife and I decided to cancel. And since then, we haven't heard anything back from anybody.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was part of the home purchasing process. We've had them for two years now and they seemed reasonable with the pricing and everything. The process of submitting claims was fairly easy. It was all handled through the web so it was pretty smooth. The only difficulty I had was one time, somebody didn't close something up, but it wasn't much to fix. Then somebody would contact us within 24 to 72 hours. The contractors they sent would come in and do the job. Sometimes I had to order parts. It's a fairly benign process. They got it done and went out. With the concept of home warranty in general, I don't know if anything particularly stands out about them versus anybody else. I haven't had any bad luck with them, so there's that. I bought my house in 2007 and 2-10 home warranty was attached to it. I've been with the company for 12 years and claims submission has been pretty easy. I usually do it over the phone because it's easier to get ahold of them that way than it is to navigate their website. There are so many different places to log in. There's a vendor log in, a homeowner log in and a log in for people that buy a home warranty. They are all different and I find it really frustrating. If they could just recognize when I log in with my username that I am a homeowner, that would make it so much easier.

But 2-10 is really good about following up. If a contractor hasn't reached out to me, 2-10 usually follows up within 24 or 48 hours. Their contractors are also very professional and courteous. They are all local people or businesses that I'm usually familiar with. Having a home warranty is great. The house is now a rental property and with 2-10, I am able to make a phone call then have whatever is broken taken care of. That makes the warranty worth it. I don't have to pay for a property management company too.

On August 17th, 2018 I submitted a call for service for my stove. Initially we received good service. A contractor was dispatched and came out within days and appeared to know what he was talking about. The contractor said the issue required replacing an igniter unit which was done a few weeks later. Unfortunately that was not the issue and the problem we reported continued. The contractor came back out and said he would research the problem. Weeks went by and we never heard back from the contractor.

Finally months after the initial report 2-10 sent out a new contractor. That contractor called the manufacturer who told him exactly what the problem was and what the fix was. The contractor said he we would order the part that needed replacing and that I would hear back soon. I never heard back from that contractor. Weeks later 2-10 sent out a new contractor (the third) to look into the issue. The contractor determined what the problem was (same as the second contractor) and said that he would go back and order the replacement part.

After waiting some time to hear back on when the contractor would return to replace the failed part I discovered that 2-10 had closed my claim. I reopened my claim and tried to figure out what was happening. When I spoke to a representative of 2-10 I was told that my problem was that a bulb had burned out in my stove and all I needed to do was replace the bulb. The actual issue is that there is a short in the stoves control panel, specifically the button that controls that light, and the bulb burned out. I replaced the bulb and now it turns on and off all day long in response to the short.

I spent many hours calling 2-10 trying to get to a supervisor/manager in the claims department to get a better answer. Finally last week I was able to get them to speak to the contractor again who confirmed that the issue was not a bulb but a short. When I spoke to the contractor he said that 2-10 had denied his request to order a replacement part. 2-10 has never told me this. They simply closed the claim and told me to replace the bulb. I still don't know what 2-10 is going to do to make this right but I do know that this isn't something that should take six months to resolve.

We got 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty when we purchased the house and they did some service for us for our refrigerator. We had to figure out how to submit the claim through them as it was our first experience. My wife went through the website. I knew she had some challenges as the website was a little bit complicated. Once we finally did get the work order submitted, she wasn't the one to be home, so they ended up having to contact me. Once we got the phone numbers and we were able to get contact, they contacted me to make arrangements to come over and fix the house.

Great guy came over. He told us what the problem was, said he had to order a part, and said he would contact us once the part was in. It took a couple of weeks to get the part but it wasn't a big deal. We just went without an ice maker. The contractor contacted us, he came back, placed the part, and was in and out again. It was all within less than an hour. They told us what time they were gonna be here and they were a little bit early, so that was good.

When there was something with my air conditioner, their service contractor came to the house and did their job. Working with them was fine. They provided the service and met all my needs. They were prompt, courteous and professional.

When my previous warranty company moved out of town, I got 2-10 and I liked them. I did the claims over the phone and had a good experience with the reps. So far, 2-10 is one of the best. We normally get the technician right away but sometimes, we don't have people in Bakersfield like pool guys, and some might take a little while. They would allow clients to get their own people. The home warranty people and the people who took care of the issues were both fantastic. The home warranty decides what's covered and what's not, and the client normally pays the technician everything. 2-10 is good and I recommend it.

I’ve been with 2-10 for about 10 years and now, they want you to go online when you have a claim. But instead of going online, I call and the representatives always take care of whatever problem I have. They are always polite too. I also call them if I have any questions. I am given a timeframe on when to expect a contractor and it is normally 24 hours. But they would also give me the number and if I need the contractor earlier, I can contact them. There is one subcontractor that I really don’t care for too much though. He was the one who installed my dishwasher. He came one time but he didn’t fix the problem and he was supposed to call back but nothing got resolved until something happened with my dishwasher again and he came back up again.

He wasn’t the one who initially came though. It was another company that came. The guy told me what was wrong and he tried to get the part. 2-10 said that they wanted to go with a different person but they ended up sending out the people that I really don’t care for too much. Still, I just let the contractor do what he had to do. However, he left a box and I didn’t like that. He was stating that he didn’t really have room in his truck and I thought that was kinda strange. But my husband was able to get rid of it and aside from that subcontractor, the ones that I’ve had have been professional. Having a warranty is a must. If not, I would be paying a whole lot of money out of my pocket for things that break down. When you have a house, things break down and I’d rather pay the monthly fee and then pay the deductible whenever I need something fixed on my appliances or whatever it may be inside the house.

    Original Review: Feb. 8, 2019

Today is February 8, 2019 and we have been without a working dishwasher since December 17, 2018, the date that we placed a service call with 2-10 Home Warranty. Think about that, we have gone through Christmas, New Year’s, Super Bowl without a working dishwasher. First world problems, I know, but if we paid for the services of a home warranty company, 2-10, to take care of issues such as this, should it take more than fifty-three days to get this fixed? Should it take longer than two weeks to get this fixed?

Why has this taken so long? One reason: incompetence. Incompetence on behalf of 2-10 Home Warranty and the second-rate service contractors that they use. We are on our second service contractor at this point, because our first service contractor could not complete the job, didn’t know what he was doing and walked off the job with parts from our dishwasher. The second service contractor, seemed nice enough, informed us that we were missing parts to our dishwasher, that it was clear the first service contractor did not know what he was doing and said that even if the missing parts are ordered, they did not know if that would fix our initial problem.

The second service contractor stated that they were going to recommend to 2-10 that our dishwasher just be totally replaced. That was on January 21, 2019. We immediately spoke to 2-10 about replacing our dishwasher and they only offered to give us $400. Our dishwasher is a $900 dishwasher. Sure we could buy a new dishwasher for $400, but it would be a major step down from what we currently have. At that point we decided to try our luck with new parts for our dishwasher and communicated the same to 2-10. So then it fell on 2-10 Home Warranty to authorize and order the parts for our dishwasher. That was around January 21.

So we’re waiting, waiting, and decide to call 2-10 to find out the status because we had not heard from anyone, and come to find out, they failed to order the parts. They were apologetic about it, but that still doesn’t fix the fact that at this point we had been without a dishwasher for more than a month. So then the parts finally get ordered, rush ordered, and on the day the second service contractor is supposed to fix our dishwasher, with the new parts, my husband drives home from work to meet them, only to receive a call from the service contractor to say that they just realized that they did not receive all of the parts that they need to fix the dishwasher and will have to contact 2-10 again to order more parts. Are you kidding me??? You’re only figuring that out now?

By the way, I looked up the two service contractors that 2-10 sent to help us with our dishwasher and found that not only did the first service contractor have horrible reviews online, but the second service contractor has a "D-" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Why does 2-10 not better screen their service contractors? At this point, my husband and I are just disgusted. I will tell anyone and everyone not to use 2-10 Home Warranty. My sister-in-law, who is a realtor, will no longer recommend 2-10. Run people, run.

We bought this warranty with the understanding that an equivalent replacement would be provided for items that stop working due to normal use and cannot be repaired. My refrigerator quit working so I submitted a claim to have it fixed. The repairman deemed the unit needs to be replaced and 2-10 agreed and said they would have an option for replacement in 24-48 hours.

It took over a week for the replacement option to come because they said something happened and it didn’t make it to their “back office”. The replacement offered was less than 1/3 the value of my current unit and did not have the same features. I called and asked them for a replacement that had the same features so they took another few days to continue “researching”. The second offer they sent was 1/2 the value of my current unit and still does not match the features. I spent several hours researching and found an equivalent replacement for one of the brands they carry from one of the locations they purchase from.

They have now stated they are not obligated to match any features other than things that help the fridge serve its primary purpose which is cooling/freezing food. The replacement offered does not even fit in the space in my kitchen, is a completely different style of fridge (side by side vs counter depth French door). They have told me they are not responsible to match dimensions and that counter depth nor French doors are a “feature”. Furthermore I was told the second offer should have not been sent to me and that I need to only look at the first offer for the lower amount.

In total I have been without a fridge for 3 weeks and have talked to 9 different people at 2-10 including 2 supervisors who state they are not obligated to provide an equivalent replacement to my current unit. This is the worst customer experience I have had with any company bar none. It is a bait and switch where they are trying to pay out the lowest possible amount for claims. I have had to file a claim with the BBB to try and recoup the $ to replace my current fridge.

But with submitting the claim, I feel that a lot of times it takes longer than it needs to get somebody there to have the work done. My interactions with the contractors that came out was fair. I just had an issue where the contractor showed up one day then refused to show up anymore after that. They also didn’t get the information back to 2-10 so no work was being completed and it made the process take twice as long as it should. 2-10 also doesn’t have any other contractors in the area so I have to find them on my own and I was not super thrilled about that.

I made a claim to 2-10 for the heater that was not working. The furnace was out. I made a phone call and got the ball rolling. They set everything up and the technician they picked was very good. He called before he came and he was on time. But getting the parts took a long time. They had to order a new controller board for it and that came in within a week and got it fixed. Once, he got the controller board and the unit was working again, there was also a problem with the gas. One of the jets that direct gas to the pilot and then to the furnace went out and he had to replace that and it took two weeks to get that part. I made the claim on January 11th and the issue wasn’t finally resolved until February. Other than that, submitting a claim has never been an issue and as far as the service goes, it's fine. I've called 2-10 a couple of times about stuff and it has worked out every time.

Financially and economically, 2-10 is a great thing to have especially if you have a really major problem like I did when my air conditioner had broken and I had to get a whole new replacement. The warranty was a benefit to me to have because if not, I would've put out $3,000 off my pocket. I've been with 2-10 for 10 years now and submitting claims with them has been a good experience. I've done it online and over the phone and both have been very good. After which I am told that someone should contact me within 48 hours.

Most of my experiences with 2-10 have been very good. But I have an issue with the contractors 2-10 hires to do the work. For instance, I opened up a claim for my dryer a month ago and I'm still waiting to hear about what's gonna go, are they gonna get the part, or are they gonna fix it. That's ridiculous. I called the contractor a couple of times and he told me that he was gonna get back to me, but he never did. I wanna be updated and I want to know how long this is gonna take. This is the worst experience I've ever had with 2-10.

The first year that we bought the house, the AC went out. After a couple of visits, we found out the drip pan had melted because of a gas leak, and the HVAC had actually melted the plastic drip pan. It was overflowing and causing the AC unit to shut off. 2-10 did the $100 deductible for the first visit for the company they called out and they covered literally everything after that. It would've been a $1,500 overall cost if we hadn't have the warranty. So after that, it would be stupid to not continue the warranty because if anything happens again, they would most likely cover it. It was absolutely a pretty good value.

I was able to submit claims online which was pretty good and simple. The website was straightforward. Sometimes, the companies here in Raleigh aren't always the best. There were a couple of visits where the contractors' communication wasn't super solid to us, like when they would be coming, or like, "Hey, we have a window between this time and this time," and we'd accept. Then, they don't show up and they don't communicate that they don't show up, so it's that stuff. The work has always been fine 'cause it doesn't break again. It's just both me and my wife work like full-time and when people give a window, we really need to have people adhere to that, or communicate when they can't. But I don't fault that on the warranty at all, they can't control that.

It was our first time buying a house, and I was kinda on the fence when we were buying it if we should take the home warranty, 'cause it was an extra cost to us upfront. But I say if people are on the fence, just go ahead and get it. Even if you don't need a warranty, it's better to have it because a $500 or $100 cost for the deductible is better than $1,500. It's a smart move. Just like insurance, you have it and hope that you don't need it because when you need it and you don't have it, you're gonna be pissed.

The third person came out and replaced the motherboard but it didn’t fix the problem. I’ve also had a problem with the dishwasher since September and 2-10 sent the same person out to fix it. I’m still waiting for it to be fixed. He also looked at the washer again and it still isn’t fixed. The repair person called me yesterday to say he had the pump for my dishwasher and he said he would be here at around 4 o’clock, but he didn’t come. I assume he would call back to reschedule. The contractors seemed to know what they were doing but I would like them to check back to see that things are fixed.

I'm a little bit frustrated with how 2-10 handled the issue with my dishwasher. It took them a while to handle it and they retained it instead of replacing it. They sent out their contractors, who were very professional, and then the control board and a new harness were ordered. The guys then got in there with wire cutters and cut out my wires and spliced new wires. They put in the new harness and then put in my spliced-up harness. And then they installed the control board, only to find out that the control panel now was only half of it so only half would function. So, they ordered a new control panel and did some more work on the harness to get the control panel in.

The system came up and ran for about a week or two and then it shut down. The guys came back out and did some checks and then they ordered some parts. When they came back, they replaced the heating element with a new inline fuse and worked on the harness. It came out all right and it's working now. I'm just surprised that 2-10 tried to keep the dishwasher alive. Basically, the electronics control board had been replaced, as well as the processor board, the control panel and the heating element. It just seems odd. Still, I'm not upset with them and I'm gonna renew my warranty.

Our experience when submitting claims with 2-10 has been good. We've had a few plumbing issues. The whole inside of the toilet tank had to be replaced. It would keep running and leaking, and 2-10's contractor replaced the whole inside of it. Another issue was when our water heater went out and they had to replace the heating element on it. When we submit a claim, we usually do it over the phone. However, it takes a little while for somebody to contact us and get everything fixed. We have to wait a couple of days and then we get the actual company that will be coming out. Then the contractor has to contact 2-10 so that seems to lag them a little bit and they're not allowed to fix it until it gets approved. When our AC went out this summer, it took about a week to get it fixed. 2-10 should speed up the claims process a little bit. But it's a good warranty to have.

He told us that the furnace is only about 2 years old and the part not working should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. But labor is not covered under this manufacturer's warranty due to it being past 1 year of the manufacturer's warranty. So, therefore the labor is not covered under this warranty. But 2-10 says they will not cover the labor because it covered under the manufacturer's warranty, WHICH IT IS NOT! No help whatsoever. Also, was told by the technician that it would cost $300 in labor, but next morning calls and tells us it will be $450. Looks like picking and choosing what they will cover and then upping the price for repairs. Not happy at all.

I submitted my first claim with 2-10 last year when I first got it. It was for the evaporative cooler on my roof and my experience was an interesting one. One of the big problems with 2-10 here in Tucson is if the contractor that they contact with to be their service providers are one-star rated, their customer service and knowledge suck.

The guy 2-10's contractor sent didn't show up and he didn't even call me to tell me that he was gonna be five hours late. To me, if he can't communicate with me, I don't want him to start ripping holes on my property and repairing stuff, because he doesn't even have the basic communication now. With that experience, they came and said that it was gonna be $1,000 to replace. I asked them what are they gonna replace it with because I have a 2,500 square feet home and I wanted to make sure that they're sizing it correctly. And they wouldn't provide me with the manufacturer number. With that, I told them that I was gonna go to an outside network and get a second opinion from somebody that has better reviews and reputation in the community.

I went and did the research, then finally I said that I was just gonna go back to 2-10. So I went back to them and I redid the process since time had elapsed. The exact same vendor came back with a higher repair cost. They said that it can be over the 1,500 allotted, so 2-10 can just pay me out 1,500 then I can figure out the difference. I told them that was fine and asked them to go ahead and write me a check. I'm literally comparing apples to apples. And there was only a three-month window so I don't get how something could have replaced that quickly. The reps I have spoken to suck, too.

The second claim was for my gas pipes that leaked on top of my roof. I had called 2-10 to see if it was covered. I estimated it was a total of three hours on the phone with three different customer service representatives asking them if it was covered. My gas meter is in the alley, which is very common here on where we live. My home was built in 1964 and it should come as expected. And they said that if my meter is in the alley, it's not covered. I had to explain to all the representative that it was not the main line. It was the internal line that runs from the hot water heater to the furnace, which is covered based upon what I read in the little statement. After going back and forth with them three hours of my time, they finally agreed. I asked them if they can just open me a quote for an outside service representative because I've already been through their service people and I don't wanna experience that again.

But there were problems approving the claim so I ended up paying $2,200 to get 30 feet of gas pipes repaired. I had them call and they said that the process is to have the contractor call prior to submitting work with the bid then they would tell me that they were only gonna reimburse me as to that rate that which they would say their contractors. They came back with $300 and that was the approval amount on the $2,000 job. It was not even worth my time to submit the claim for 300 bucks and I've already spent four hours later on the phone with them. That's why I haven't submitted my new claim. It just seems to me that I don't know how they negotiate their contracts with these contractors and it was such a lowball compared to what it cost. But I also understand it's hard because it's supplier quality management and they could definitely improve on that in Tucson.

Aside from being recommended to us, we got 2-10 out of ease and we’ve been using it for five years. We've had some claims that we needed to place outside of normal business hours and so, I appreciate that I can do it online 24 hours a day. The process is very simple and they get back to me within 24 hours. There were times when we had to call and ask questions or deal with something after a claim has been placed and the 2-10 reps handled such situations well. The only thing that I have issues with is clarity in finding out if something is covered or not.

I understand that the people that we’re talking with are representatives and not plumbers or electricians, and all I can tell them is what’s wrong. What makes it difficult is that if we don’t know what’s wrong, how do we know if it’s gonna be covered or not? I get it there’s not really an easy answer to that but there has been one situation where we were told something was covered and then it wasn’t. We did get our water heater fixed but then it messed up again within three months. We had to call back and then we were double charged for the claim. I had to get pretty ugly about it before it was figured out. So, when you’re going through a local service company plus the warranty company, it just makes communication and who’s-covering-what much more difficult. Other than that, I felt great about 2-10's contractors.

I've been with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for a little over three years and stuck with them for the convenience. They’re better-priced. And the few times I’ve had to use them, they were somewhat responsive. When my washer wouldn’t spin the wet clothes to get the water out of them, it took 2-10 months to replace it. First, we had to wait for the contractor to come out for the first time. I placed the call with 2-10 on Wednesday and got the number for the contractor on Thursday. The contractor said they only come up here on Thursdays and the tech had already gone that day, so we had to wait for next Thursday.

It took two weeks to get the part in. The first part came in, but that didn’t fix the issue. The tech stopped after the first part and they were gonna replace the washer then. But he was told to order another part. He did that, came out, and replaced the motor, but the second part was bad and still didn’t fix the issue. According to the contractor, they paid about twice as much for the parts than what it costs. It was a really old washing machine. We’ve had it for almost 20 years. Then, 2-10 decided to replace the washer. Rather than wait for them to ship another washing machine to me, in stupefaction, I bought one and put it on credit card. And when the cash comes back, I could pay back the credit card.

The reason that the issue was taken care of as quickly as it was, was because I kept bugging 2-10, and I don’t think I should have had to. It shouldn’t have been up to me to get the contractor out as quickly as possible and I shouldn’t have had to call to find out what was going on. Somebody should have called me. They said it was the contractor’s fault because he hadn’t filled out all the paperwork right. Finally, when I figured out what information they needed that the contractor wasn’t giving them, I just got it myself and gave it to them.

We're very happy with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. We had HVAC issues in the summer and they took care of our AC. Recently, there was a heating issue. Somebody came out and fixed that too. The quality of service provided by their contractor was very good. Sometimes when we call 2-10 and need somebody on a Friday, they say that it could be that the contractor would come on Monday. But so far, the contractors have come out very quickly.

I bought the house in September last year and the previous homeowners purchased the 2-20 home warranty before I bought the house. It hasn’t been a year yet that I've been with 2-10 and everything has gone very smoothly. Submitting claims with them has been very simple and they’ve been really helpful and professional. Normally, I submit claims online and their website is very user-friendly. I work a strange off-shift, so it’s very convenient to come home late at night and go online. Whenever there’s a problem, I can have that done and get it out of the way. The contractors that they have sent out to my home have been excellent. One contractor, Diaz and Sons, sent two different technicians. They explained what was wrong, told me what the problem was that needed to be repaired, and then they fixed it. I would definitely recommend 2-10 to a friend.

2-10 has come through. Sometimes, it takes time when they have to order parts and then we have to wait until they come in since some of the appliances are not brand-new. We then had to schedule with the actual person who was gonna come fix the appliance. But to get our stovetop working, they did the research and found that we had to wait for two weeks. Also sometimes, when I called 2-10, their message board was long to try to get through to somebody and that's a little frustrating.

Other than that, 2-10 has done okay and they fixed the stovetop. We paid the $75 one time for them to come. And then when they came for the second time, we didn’t have to pay again. We also had our air conditioning go bad and 2-10 said, "Okay, fix it," so it can keep working. The best part was to replace the whole part, but they said to just keep it working for now. Having 2-10 is well worth it for this year because I had a few things that went down.

When I bought the house, part of the deal was that the previous owner would provide a year's worth of home warranty. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty was the one he had and I just continued with them after that. Recently, I had a ceiling fan issue. I usually file my claims with 2-10 online. The electrician called me within the next day or two, then he was out that same week. He was great and very nice. He came when he said he would and he fixed the issue. When the ceiling fan wasn't working, that repair issue didn't affect us too badly since it was just that a light in the bedroom wasn't working so we had to get a new ceiling fan. But the repair issue that we had previous to that was a little bit different. We had the air conditioner go out in the summer and we didn't have an AC for three weeks so that one was not as smooth. Other than that, I've had the warranty of 2-10 for three years now and I will recommend them to a friend.

I usually call in to submit a claim with 2-10 and I let them know I am submitting it in. Then, I’ll email them and follow back up with them. We live out in a rural park and I have to go through my own people to get service, which is not a big deal, but getting my reimbursement from 2-10 isn't the best. The literature was a little confusing because the fee for the service when someone came to my house for the HVAC was less than the service fee that 2-10 offers. I gotta pay 2-10 a hundred bucks and they will cover up to a hundred, but after a hundred, I will pay. I paid the person who came out and did the HVAC around 72 bucks and 2-10 was giving me a hard time giving me the extra $22.

They grudgingly gave it to me, although I haven’t received the check in the mail. I received the first $58, which they said I was due, but I’ve been waiting for the extra $22. The office manager I spoke to about getting me the extra $22 did a really good job of making sure I’m taken care of and she said she will do a goodwill gesture and send it out, so I appreciate her taking care of that.

I also had an issue with the sink and 2-10 okayed me for that. I had a guy come out and he fixed it for $150. I called 2-10 and I said, “Hey, look. I got this service fee. It’s $100.” They said that I have a Supreme package and that it only goes up to $150. So, if I really had an issue that was around $200, I’d be out $50. The package doesn’t seem like it really covers much, so I don’t know if I will renew. I’ll probably have to shop somewhere else. It was at $584 for a whole year and they have already gotten $20, $60, $190, and plus the $140, so I’m still in the red for around $400 until June.

I wish the reimbursement policy was a little faster and I wish there was more communication. I sent a claim in last time and I still have to send in the one for the plumbing. I sent the email in, which they directed me to do, but I didn’t get an automated message saying they received it. I did not hear anything back. I called back again two days later and they had to look it up. They didn’t have my stuff, which makes me believe they had me canceled, that my account got lost in the shuffle. If you are a client, you really gotta be on top of it, which most people would be when it comes to warranty claims. I have had too much communication in, but it’s not enough. It would be nice if there is a way to use their website or software, or if you can upload it to your account. In that way, I can verify it.

I have had coverage with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty for about three years in total. It was the company that our realtor gave us money towards purchasing another home warranty with. However, I wouldn’t have picked them again because I had a lot of difficulty with the people that they decided to send out at the last property that I owned. They kept sending out the same person who wasn't fixing the problem. I called multiple times and I tried to get 2-10 to send someone out to fix the leak in my bathroom, but they refused to send out someone else. They said that the people who started it needed to finish it and I told them, "But I can only take off so many days of work to have the same person come out here and not fix the problem."

One time, there was a piece in the well that wasn't working and when we purchased the house, we were told that the well was included in the coverage. I called 2-10 multiple times to say that I couldn’t log in to my account online. They told me that I didn't have the well covered. I said, "Well, I made the phone call to make that coverage,” but they stated that I didn't have that coverage. I was upset about that, but we moved on and we got the well fixed.

Our water heater also stopped working and 2-10 sent someone out to fix it. The company that they sent out was great, unfortunately, our water heater ended up being recalled and no one told us the fact that the water heater kept going out. The company never told us that the one that they've put in and replaced was recalled for potentially going up in flames. Their recommendation was that we just not use the water heater until they could come out and put a new water heater back then. Fortunately, I have two water heaters, so I can shower on the other side of the house, but they should know which water heater to put in people's home and they should also know when it is a recalled product.

At this point, it has been a couple of years since I've had 2-10 and the only issue I have is that sometimes, the vendors that they use are not the best. I know some of the vendors. They’re just out there to make a service call and to get paid off of the service call, not really to handle the issue, or they are just trying to upcharge you. When stuff can be fixed simply, they try to do this and that so that they can make money. But when I reached out to 2-10 once and told them not to send this one vendor back to my house anymore, they complied. All in all, I would still recommend them.

The rep that I spoke with was good and the technician they sent was very professional. I didn't have a problem with the claims process at all but it was not necessarily geared on how fast they could get me back a refrigerator. If I would have to do all over again, I would have known how the process works. I would've just bought a new refrigerator than waiting for 2-10 to explain. That way, I have a refrigerator and I wouldn't have to bend down so long. But I didn't understand upfront that we have that option. It is difficult to convey that to somebody upfront. 2-10 could make it better.

Also, I cannot submit a claim online most of the time. Right now I can submit a claim for plumbing, like if the kitchen sink is having an issue. A few months later, if the bathroom sink has an issue and I want to submit another claim, the website doesn’t let me. I would have to call 2-10 to submit a claim and it would take between 15 to 30 minutes for me to be able to talk to somebody. Other than that, things are good with 2-10. The plumbing people are reliable. They work very well with 2-10 and with me. Anytime I submit a claim, they call me, organize a time and everything goes very well.

I have the Supreme plan with 2-10. I have 3 sinks, 2 toilets, and a shower going into the same main pipe for my upstairs bathrooms. All of these fixtures drain into the same pipe. That pipe has a blockage and needs to be snaked. The blockage is also causing a leak in ceiling on the first floor. The first contractor comes out and says he doesn't have a license to "lift up the toilet and snake through there" so they send out a brand new contractor. The second contractor says they can't gain access because the master bathroom's shower grate is grouted in place. The second contractor completely ignores the possibility of snaking through any of the toilets or sinks to resolve the blockage in the shared drain pipe.

2-10 says they won't cover anything because one of the access points to the shared pipe is inaccessible. They charged me $100 to have someone come out and do literally nothing. I tried opening other requests that were cancelled by 2-10 within an hour of me creating them. I spent 2 hours of the phone with their customer service, and then their claims department. They just kept saying "We can't agree on everything, we can't cover this because the shower grate is blocking access for our contractor." I explained multiple times that they could very easily snake through the toilet, and the first contractor even stated that he intended to do that, but for whatever reason wasn't licensed for it. I am extremely disappointed and would advocate for anyone to steer clear of this company.

I normally submit my claims with 2-10 online. It's easier and more convenient. Within last year, however, it had been a couple weeks before they would send somebody out. It would also be multiple days before I hear from somebody that was supposed to be here. The last few times I've called 2-10 to get somebody to my house, it has been a hassle with whoever they've been contracting to come out. We were reaching out to one of the last people who were supposed to come, but they never called me to make an appointment. I'm a teacher so my schedule is kinda crazy, and I needed somebody to come out as soon as possible. But the lady rep was like, "Do you wanna reach out to them now?" That's not my job. I pay 2-10 to make sure they'll send somebody to me, and then they'll call me.

For the latest claim that I had, 2-10 had to switch to somebody else, and then they came out. But the contractor before that came out, and then, another company I had come out for my AC unit had to come out four times because they didn't know what they were doing. It was a heating issue and my pregnant sister couldn't stay downstairs. It was freezing. The rep kept trying to call the same people, and I kept telling her that the contractors were not coming and that they had not called me. I told her to give me somebody else but it took her four calls to me before she finally said she would cancel the contractor and got somebody else. Then when they came, they were able to figure out what the problem was and they got it fixed. I've been using 2-10 since I bought my house five years ago and I hadn't had any problems up until this year. Still, I recommended 2-10 to my sister.

My husband and I bought a house and we were given a one-year free warranty which was under 2-10. After the free warranty expired, we talked about paying monthly, like privately, to continue our warranty because we really found it helpful. Our first claim was with our heater which was kind of a whole big mess. It was because our title company never actually paid 2-10 so technicians weren’t really able to come out and fix anything. I completely understood that. My husband and I went through an out-of-network contractor because they already had everything that they needed about the heating unit and to basically get it fixed the very next day as soon as 2-10 was paid and was able to reimburse us.

The first person that I talked to about doing an out-of-network claim told me that 2-10 would send us a check reimbursing us for everything except the service fee. We went ahead with the work but we wanted to check into it before we actually did the out-of-network contractor because we didn’t wanna have to pay a bunch of money. When I called to make sure that everything was all set up, we were told that 2-10 wouldn’t cover everything and that the first person I talked to didn’t explain it right to me. They were only gonna cover what they would have paid to have the same job done. My husband and I ended up having to pay $500 out of pocket because we weren’t told about this.

That wasn’t the greatest experience with them. If we had known that we would be spending $500 out of pocket, which wasn’t something we exactly had sitting around because we just moved, we would have gone in-network. But because everything was pretty much already mid-process at that point, we just went through with it because we really didn’t wanna have the hassle of all of it again.

2-10 is dealing with people’s money and some minor miscommunication bothered me. I feel like we should’ve been informed about them not covering everything regarding our first claim because that was what we were told the first time. I understand that these things happen, especially when they are working with call centers and customer service lines. They can’t exactly control what every single representative does. But if somebody told us that they were gonna cover everything, 2-10 should follow through with what their representative said even if it was gonna be a revenue loss for the company.

I also worked in customer service and that is my personal view on it. I don’t feel like we should’ve had to pay $500 for something when we didn’t know that we were gonna have to do that. Other than that, 2-10 did a good job, especially with the plumbing. That was our second claim with them and that was fantastic. It was fast. The guy got out here and took care of everything I needed to have taken care of including everything with 2-10. I had very little work to do.

I’ve submitted claims on the phone with a couple of issues I had and so far, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty has been okay. When the contractor came in for the dryer, he started looking at it and tried to figure out what was wrong. It took him a few minutes, but he eventually found the problem. He had everything he needed and the dryer has been working fine since then.

My house has been protected with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty since October 2005. They make submitting claims easy and they try to find out what's going on and find the best technicians. I'm then given a timeframe and the technicians call. Occasionally, I’ll have a few companies that don't call back right away, especially if it has to do with the air conditioning breaking down and that is hard. With heating and air, it could take longer. Right now, I have a pending claim. The technician came out and he thought it was one thing but it wasn't. He said that he needed to order a part but it has been over a week and he hasn't called me back. But for the most part, if it doesn't have to do with heating, I've had no issues. Having a warranty is very valuable. It gives me peace of mind that I don't have to worry about certain things and I just have to pay my deductible.

When I bought my house it already had the 2-10 warranty for a year. I didn't have time to check around because I'm in the military and I'm busy, so I decided to just renew it and extend it from there, and then find more options later. I've had the coverage for two years now but next year, we are definitely gonna be finding more options and possibly switch. We're just tired.

Right now, there is an issue with the bathroom in my house, and there is a leak in my dining area that's coming from the second bathroom. I called 2-10 and they sent someone out to tell me about it. Initially, they were going to think about whether or not they would decide to fix it and also figure out the other options they have before they go in to cut something. However, they didn't know what they wanted and it took about a month, and then they realized that they had to cut the ceiling in the dining area. But they said the issue is not from the pipes and lighting or the dining room, but rather it's coming from the wall in the second bathroom. There's a wall facing the master bathroom and they said they have to go through the master bathroom so they have to break the wall to fix the issues.

My wife made the phone call to 2-10, and they said they are going to send someone. But it has been three weeks and nobody has showed, and we've called more than twice. Meanwhile, in the dining area, the three holes that the contractor did are still there. The bathroom is still leaking so we can't even use it now, and nothing has been done. I was gonna call today to get to talk to a manager or somebody because this is a terrible experience. My washing machine was acting up but I haven't even called 2-10 because they can't even fix the earlier issue. I'm pretty dissatisfied. It was a terrible experience.

2-10 looked like it had the services that I wanted but the quality of work and expertise from their contractor were extremely poor. I've had two claims and both times were plumbing issues. Basically, I call 2-10 and submit the claim then they send out their contractor. The contractor reviews the problem and submits it back to the company. Then the company decides if they’re going to cover it or not. If it’s a pre-existing condition, then they do not cover it. Otherwise, they send it out then you just pay $100 service fee and they cover the rest.

The plumber they sent out was friendly enough. With the first time, I had a pipes issue and when he came out, he jumped in the crawlspace for about 15 minutes then popped back out. He said it was corrosion and pre-existing. But when the home was inspected initially, I had all the pipes looked at and they were in working order. Still, corrosion was kind of understandable. That was fine. But then the plumber offered right back to fix it on the cheap and that felt self-serving.

I called 2-10 about it and as far as the appeals process, you can go ahead and have the work done then submit the bill to 2-10. Then they have their own internal review board. But I asked them point-blank about me having someone else come out and submit their evaluation to 2-10 then they're the ones who decide if it goes to the process. It is fairly standard but what’s the point of going to that effort? I ended up going with a professional plumber. They spent an hour in the crawlspace and the work they did was top-notch. You expect that with a home warranty. But the service was really poor. With the second time, the toilet wasn’t flushing right and I got the same plumber that 2-10 had sent out. He tried clearing the lines and when he got it flushing very slowly, he said it looked good enough. He said there was nothing he could do. But all it was was that the toilet needed to be replaced. Absolutely do not go with 2-10.

They offered me to find one on my own and to see if it was gonna be able to be paid for, but I didn’t even hassle with it because they should have been the ones to do all the work and find it and then set it up with me. My water heater was bad and after 2-10 sent out their network person to look at it, they said they would buy me a replacement. I even got a second opinion and they said the same thing. I talked to 2-10 on the phone and they said they were gonna buy me out and send me a check for $1,400. So I bought a water heater for $1,900. But then they told me that I need more information from the contractor. Now, their contractor refuses to contact them again and they pretty much left it up to me to figure it out. I called 2-10 two to three times a week asking them what was next and they said the contractor has not gotten back to them. But it's their network contractor. 2-10 should push on them. But they were like, “Well, we've left a message.” 2-10 can definitely do better.

But I called last time and their reps were nice, helpful and very professional. They're responsive when I had a problem. However, the people who they send varies, whether they are good or not. The first person that they brought out, particularly for my heat pump, didn't do his job that was why I had a problem again with it a year later. He just took my 100 bucks and didn't look at the problem.

I'm a new homeowner so I don't know how things are supposed to work. And after talking to some relatives, they said that the same recurring problem shouldn't have happened. I made sure this time that whoever they recommended last year to fix my heat pump, I didn't want him back. 2-10 did a good job and sent me a different person. I'm happy with the person that I'm working with right now and he seems to be doing what he's supposed to do.

So, we had a hard time getting any help with anything in our house. They had to give us a check back for $75 and then we were supposed to receive another one but we haven't received that one yet. 2-10 should give the client a call when they first sign up for the warranty or have it and then go through the warranty with the client a bit more about what to expect besides just assuming that the client knows by reading the information. Some things are not clear like with my toilet. Their customer service is fine, but as far as getting anything done, I might not recommend them.

I call 2-10 to submit a claim most of the time. There’s also an option to go online and make the request for service. But I’m old school. I prefer talking to somebody and my interactions with their reps have been pretty good. They would usually tell me to expect the contractor to come out within 48 hours, which they do meet. The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes, the situation can be very urgent. If the heating stopped working and it's 20 degrees outside and it happens on a Friday night, I have to wait until Tuesday. I’ve also had floods in my basement when the water tank busted and when these things happen, I don’t have 48 hours to wait. So a lot of times, I do not wait for the provider to call me. I go ahead and call them because I do get the email. But most of the cases were not super urgent so I could wait.

We've had 2-10 for four years now and every year, the home warranty price goes up. I think it’s based on how much I use it. But with some calls, I wonder if I got a really good value. Could I have done it without 2-10 and gotten just as good of a value? I was trying to resolve the garage door one time and because it was electrical, I was trying to get them to also work on the kitchen fixture. But they never came. I fixed the garage door and cancelled the service request. I’ve had not so good providers but I’ve had good providers as well. I try to take notes on the ones I like. I also take note when I do not have such a good experience and sometimes, I even request another contractor. That’s not usually the case but it happens.

2-10 was a passed on warranty when we bought the house. Submitting a claim was fairly easy. However, they immediately came back that there was not a plumber in the network, which drove more work on my part to find a contractor, then have that contractor submit paperwork to then get covered. So, I was not satisfied with that. I ended up not even pursuing the claim because it was gonna take too much time and effort, so I just went and paid for it on my own with the contractor. I found to be bizarre for something as easy as toilet repairs that they wouldn't have plumbers that were in their network that could address that issue. What followed was just the package saying, "Here's what you need to do. Contact your own contractor and then, have them fill out this paperwork, and then we'll pay it." No one has time for that.

They were very good and persistent about getting me to renew my policy. So obviously, that's something that benefits them, but when it came down to trying to get a toilet fixed, it was kind of a hassle. They have the procedures in place where they will pay for the contracted amount, but it just takes me working to line that up instead of them.

I prefer filing my claims with 2-10 online because they have hours of operation, and sometimes, my claims were in the middle of the night. But whenever I call, their reps have been great. I filed a claim for the central air, and we had two companies that showed up. The first company was complete garbage. Not only were they rude, but they also scammed 2-10. They did not do the work that they said they did, and we kept having issues with our central air system. When I submitted another claim, we got a company that was local, ServiceGuru, and they came out. They were great and it is the company that I prefer. I've called them multiple times from other stuff outside of warranty issues.

I hate the first company, North Florida Heating Air. When their guy came up, he said that the problem was my outside condenser. He claimed that he replaced a coil, capacitor and contact board with brand-new parts. But he never replaced them so I was a little mad to pay the service fee. He also said that it was a wiring issue upstairs in my air handler, but apparently, he rewired something and he said that everything was fine. And two hours later, it broke again. I was pissed so I went ahead and I called 2-10. 2-10 did not reimburse, because the second time that I ended up calling them, they gave me a brand-new company out.

I told the second company what the first guy replaced. When they came out, they said they don't know what the guy used, but all of those parts in there are still factory. Their guy even showed me the capacitor, and he said that it was rusted. 2-10 should be a little bit more flexible when it comes to approving claims. Some of my other friends have 2-10 warranty, and it gets to the point where they needed a whole new air conditioner replaced, and 2-10 dragged their feet about it. The whole point of the home warranty is we pay the fee, and we're not having to flip the majority of the bill.

The only thing that I’ve had an issue with is about one of my units not having a heating strip package. It was that way when I bought the place so 2-10 won’t get one installed and I understand that. He said he was gonna reorder it and that was the last time I heard of him.

I'm on the American Home Shield with my other home and I've had a much better experience with them, so I'm not sure if I'm gonna even keep 2-10. They need to screen who they sub-contract out to and make sure they have a standard that they need to operate by because it's gonna reflect in their clients. And I got ahold of an actual person as opposed to a playback or a recording. Plus, the tech showed up early and I was pleasantly surprised. He asked me what was going on and I explained it to him. He then immediately took a look at the oven and found the issue fairly quickly. It had something to do with the outlet, not the oven itself. He fixed it and told me what the issue was with the outlet. He also said that I should get an electrician to take look at it. I’m glad I have 2-10. The first time he came out, he didn’t solve the problem. He had to come a second time and then got the problem solved. Overall, 2-10 did everything they said they were gonna do.

Most claims with 2-10 have been fine. I usually do it over the phone and the reps have always been good. We had one situation a year ago where our water heater went out and the company that they selected was very difficult to get a hold of. It took a month for us to get the water heater replaced. But it was a one-time incident and 2-10 was very apologetic for the situation. They ended up waiving the $75 co-pay.

We've had 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty since September of last year when we bought the house. Our experience with them has been okay, although we've had more problems with the contractors than we've had with them. I sent 2-10 an email to file the claim, then they called me, and everything was over the phone after that. The first guy came out for the washer and the dryer, then he came back. The second one came out and tried to check through it. It was about another couple of weeks and we got the dryer repaired and the washer replaced. 2-10 did fine and tried to stay on top of things for the most part, while the contractor did what they were supposed to do.

We’ve had 2-10 Home Warranty since 2005 and for our last two homes. My husband usually submits our claim over the internet and in the last year, we have had two claims. The most recent one we put in a few weeks ago was for the dryer and it seems to be okay. It was the same company that fixed it the last time so they know what went on with us and 2-10. They ordered the part and were quick about fixing it for us. But, last summer, we had a claim for my microwave and it was a complete mess. It took forever to get something done and because it was in the wall microwave, we were told that we needed a different frame for support. We had to pay out of pocket for it which was $300. We didn’t know at the time until it was installed and since we got it, the microwave is not working properly. It won’t open so I need to call in a claim about it also.

The guy that installed the microwave was the one who also did our dryer so I talked to him. He said to call in and see because he noticed that the microwave has been doing it when he installed it. He said that they might put someone out to fix it on that claim that we already had. I have had the same guy from the same company every time and he has been always good. He always says to call them for any issues. When we didn't have the frame, he said to call them straight and they will put it right under the sink so we don't have to deal getting another $75 warranty claim to do the thing. He came right out the same day that it came in so the service has been wonderful.

Dealing with the microwave had been a problem as I had to call in every other day about every little thing. There was no direct number and I had to go through everything. They would push me up a ladder to get me to who I needed to be. It wasn’t a quick and easy thing and they don't have the right options. There should be some easier way to do it and I was thinking about going with somebody else with the whole microwave thing.

2-10's customer service is great, and most times, I call in when I submit a claim because that’s more convenient for me. They have dependencies on the contractors, but the contractors come and do the job. As far as response time, the people at 2-10 are on top of it. They schedule people to come out, fix and solve the problem, which is what I’m looking for. It's perfect. One time, I filed a claim for my garage, but the contractor only fixed one issue and he left the rest. When I called them, he said he was gonna charge me again which I didn’t think was fair, but I paid him anyway. Then I called 2-10 and they told me not to pay. So, to me, it was more from the contractor that came out, and I won’t hold it against 2-10. When I called 2-10, they sent me somebody else, and the issue had been fixed.

2-10 addresses issues very well and as far as deductibles, other companies are too pricey compared with 2-10. Also, 2-10 allows you to break down your payment, and I prefer that. With American Home Shield, one of their competitors, you have to pay everything all the time and I don’t like their style. I prefer the monthly payment with 2-10, and that’s why I remain with them. I’ve been using 2-10 for a very long time, and I’ve recommended them.

I submit claims with 2-10 over the phone and the overall process is easy. The representatives are helpful and the quality of services that the contractors provide is good. There was one contractor who called me before coming out and when I described the problem to him, he said that if I was certain that that was the error, I should cancel the claim because it wouldn't be covered in my policy.

I've had 2-10 for five months now and I couldn't imagine if I didn't have them. They've worked with me and processed my claims. The claim submission is easy. I just call in and tell them what's going on. As long as it's inside the house and it's covered, I'm good. I get an email right away saying who's gonna be working on it. The companies that I've worked with have gotten a hold of me quickly then did the job that they've been asked to do. Plus, these contractors have been really pleasant.

The guy who came in about the heat pump told me what he saw and he had to order a part for the particular issue. They got it in within a couple of days and then he came back and fixed the pump. I've been watching it and it's been maintaining the temperature. Everything has gone really smoothly up to this point. I've been really satisfied with having 2-10 and I would recommend them.

2-10 is a great company to belong to. I've been with them since 2009 and my experience has been good. I normally submit claims over the phone and the representatives I had spoken with were professional. The contractors 2-10 had sent out were very professional as well. This last time I submitted a claim, I had a problem with my toilet. It was backed up and someone came out and checked it out. But then I was told I’m not covered. They said the toilet is not backed up and that there's something wrong with the toilet itself, like I need a new toilet. Nonetheless, the warranty is very valuable. There are always certain things you can’t afford to pay for and the warranty takes care of that.

A 2-10 warranty is valuable and it is mandatory to have it. I got mine from my builder the first time I bought a home. Originally, the coverage was one year and I extended for another three years. Their claims process is very good and quick. I go online to do it and their website is moderately user-friendly. It takes about a week to get a contractor out to me and the ones who have come here were able to fix the issues.

The drain in my washroom was backing up and flooding the utility room. I submitted a claim to 2-10. The experience was good. But just more information would be cool to know about what kind of things are covered because I have more plumbing issues. For the claim on the drain, I had talked with the dispatcher, and then she said she's gonna send the techs out on a Wednesday. The contractor before for another claim was cool and was alright. He just came in and did the snaking and that was it. Everything was good. I like the way the home warranty works. Whenever I have another house, I'm sure to have another home warranty. I'll stick with 2-10. I've been happy with it.

I had a claim with 2-10 in December and I had to do it out of pocket because 2-10 didn't have anybody in their system to fix the problem. I sent an email with my receipt like they told me to but they haven't paid me my money back. I talked to Oscar on the 21st of last month and he was supposed to get back with me, but he never did. I called back again and they had me resend the document but I haven't heard anything still. That was last week. Their communication is bad. I'm not too happy with the technicians who were out because they kept giving me the runaround. There was also one time when a guy came out and said there was nothing wrong when there was something wrong. I fixed the problem myself but I was out $75. I had another claim where a guy came out and fixed my garbage disposal.
