I have a two-year-old 47" Sanyo TV. The left side of the screen is dark. I placed it in the shop twice within one month with this problem and the fix only lasts a week each. I was told it was only a temporary fix. Is there anything that can be done as a permanent resolution?

My 42" Sanyo TV has sound, but there’s no picture. After reading the many complaints about this company, something has to be done. This appears to not only be my problem, but there’s a nationwide problem with this particular brand of television. It appears that the product will shortly break again regardless of the repair.

I bought this stupid TV a couple of years ago, and the left side went black, and now the whole screen is black but there's still a sound. So, I was reading a Sanyo troubleshooting page, and it told me to hit the reset button. I did that and now I don't hear a sound anymore. What a piece of crap. This company needs to do something about this. I will never buy this product again. I have read about all the complaints about this crappy TV. I'm going to ask my attorney about what I can do about it.

I am an old and very sick lady who pinched and done without having to buy a new TV. It was not easy since I live on a disability check. On December 20, 2011, I bought a 42-inch LCD flat screen Sanyo TV from Wal-Mart. Right off the get go, I noticed it would turn dark for a while then back for just a little while, then back dark, this goes on over and over, and on every channel.

I had 3 months to take it back so I waited and waited. Since I am unable to do much for my self, hoping it would get better, well it didn't. I had a friend take it back and Wal-Mart replaced it with another one just like it. When I say another one just like it; that is just what I mean, just like it! Does the very same thing the first one did and now I can't get anything done about this!

If this is the way Sanyo is going to treat people, they sure won't be staying in business for too long. Word is getting around, I see here for one place and I am going to try and see what else I can do about this. I have it hard enough living in pain as it is and then have no way of just going out everyday and buying another new TV. There has to be something as many of us that there are that we can do to stop others from this and also get our money back! At least a TV that works right! Right now, I have no clue where to begin but am not going to stop till I get something about this done!

Thanks for letting me tell the truth about my bad buy on a Sanyo TV online, so everyone can read it along with so many other one's who had it stuck to them also.

As with everyone else, shortly after the warranty was out, a black streak through the middle, which looks as though something is leaking inside the TV, started at the top, running downward. As time progressed, the streak is now about 10" wide and runs from the top to the bottom of the screen. I am surprised that they are allowed to still sell TVs. If they are leaking fluid or something, there should be a recall you would think.

About six months ago, the left side of the TV screen would be black when we turned it on. It would remain black for 10 minutes compared to our Sylvania 15" TV we moved from the bedroom to the living room. Not quite the same picture! We bought a 42-inch Sanyo TV just like everyone else who is complaining and after only a couple of years, the picture went completely out but we can still hear the sound. This is a bit ridiculous. The TV companies are purposely crafting products that will break just outside of their warranty periods and should not be allowed to get away with it. When there are these many complaints, a recall should be issued. I think a class action is in order.

My partner purchased our Sanyo 46" (Flat Screen), like most of you, from Wal-Mart in 2010, also without the extended warranty. My first thought was "why did you purchase a Sanyo!?" This is 4/5/2012 and the picture has a 4" vertical strip of multicolored lines that run horizontally down the left side of the picture and now has a 4" dark strip of white lines beside that. And like all of you, Sanyo should not be making disposable crap. I did replace mine with a Vizio. My 60" RCA projection TV lasted 15 years before it died. Can anyone make anything that lasts longer than that?

After receiving this Sanyo LCD TV for Christmas in 2010, I used it primarily as a computer monitor. Shortly after the warranty ran out, it began to what can best be described as cutting out. The screen goes black and half the time it comes back on after about a minute—sometimes you have to turn it off and back on. Since I figured this may be due to the board or connection to the computer, I moved this Sanyo TV to the living room. It was fine for about 4 months. Now, it’s doing the same thing over and over and the issue is very random. It couldn't possibly be any cables (since I have changed them several times). I would strongly urge caution to anyone from purchasing Sanyo TVs as they do not and will not stand by their product.

2 years ago, I paid over $900 for a large screen TV. One month before the warranty ran out, it stopped working. Due to cancer, I had to pay someone to take it 60 miles to a repair service. It worked for less than a year and then it stopped working. Of course, the warranty was out so I could not have it repaired. I had to have someone remove it from my house and it sits on my porch. I have since finished my chemo and am in remission, but I am without a TV. I do believe after so much money, it should last longer than 1 year before repair and more than a few months after repair. The TV is a Sanyo (model # DS27425).

But the next day, they called back, saying "I've got something better; you can go back to Wal-Mart and exchange the TV." Sanyo does not make LED TVs anymore in 55 inches; they discontinued this 1300 TV for 798.

I bought this TV, because I wanted LED and 55 inches for a specific purpose. Sanyo wants me to return the TV, because they don't have parts to fix the TV and said it could take months to have it fixed. Sanyo should stop putting out crap, because most workers at Wal-Mart will end up just not selling the crap anymore. I'm not. My husband and I purchased a 55" Plasma TV at Walmart on June 10, 2009. On June 1, 2010, it stopped turning on. The repair shop had it for approximately 3 weeks to make the repairs. In August of 2011, the same issue began again. Just like so many other posts, it was not turning on, black screen, no sound. I took the advise of one of the posts on turning the TV on & off and sure enough in about 20-30 minutes it worked!

I'm no expert, but it seems like some type of faulty switch that has to warm up. As with so many others with busy schedules, I didn't even bother calling Sanyo to be told nothing. It sounds to me as if Sanyo has been well aware of the faulty product and has no intentions of taking any action. The company has been well aware of this issue and has continued to sell the product with the same defects for several years.

At last check (August 2011), there was a minimum of 158 complaints with many more after. I believe the manufacturer needs to be held accountable for their lack of action to rectify their faulty product and reimburse those who have spent their hard earned money. On February 21, 2012 in a frustration to watch TV, I decided to call. They took my information and stated that upper management would be in touch with me in 72 hours if they decided to do anything. My next step will be filing an Attorney General complaint. I would advise anyone with this issue to follow up with further action.

I emailed Sanyo, not that I expected a new TV, but for advice, if this was an ongoing problem, and how much they thought it might cost. They basically don't give a **, and said sorry for my loss, and thanked me for contacting Sanyo.

I understand the warranty was up, but when consumers are spending $1,000.00 today, in this economy even a $50.00 gift card towards my next purchase, would have been a thought. I think there should be a lawsuit, after reading all these complaints, and their failure to step up and do something, or be held accountable for their poor product. If this was a car or any other product it would be recalled. I will tell everyone I know not to buy Sanyo ever. Wal-Mart should stop selling this product as well, and put a little hurt in their pocket. I wrote them back with my concerns, to lack of care or concern, and told them thank you for helping me select their competitor, when we buy a new TV to replace their junk.

A common trend in failing Sanyos has been with the board 1AV4U20c41500. The board itself is not the actual problem, but the power supply Sanyo uses from Delta Electronics is consistently failing. You cannot simply replace this item: you must purchase an entire replacement board at considerable cost when you add up the costs of the board, shipping, and labor for a technician to install it.

The amount of problems with Sanyo products themselves indicates that the company has swapped quality in exchange for saving themselves money by purchasing and using substandard parts from substandard companies (Delta Electronics). While the larger problem is indeed with the power supply from Delta Electronics, the fact that Sanyo knowingly keeps using this company for their parts in spite of the multitude of flaws and failure rates makes buying a Sanyo product as risky as placing one's ** in Cuisinart.

Last year, I had bought a Sanyo LCD 47" TV, which worked fine, and had a great quality picture. For the past 3 months, we've been dealing with a faded screen on the right side, followed by a horrible multicolored streaking throughout the screen, to where the picture is gone completely. The problem lasts about 20 minutes, until it apparently warms up, or until we get desperate enough, and tap the back lightly. I have never experienced something so irritating. We've had a repair man come look at the TV , and he didn't even touch the TV. We showed him what happens, and he said you can't fix it. A month later, we got a refund for the TV, which was the hardest to get.

Wal-Mart wouldn't take responsibility for the refund, so we had to go through the company. I had to call the repairman a hundred times, until he finally filed that my TV was unrepairable. It's been 2 months since then, and the TV still works. I don't want to get another, until it goes out, and until I can trust a company to buy a TV from. I really honestly think that the problem with the TV is a bad circuit. If this happens to not just me, something should be done. I’m reading all the complaints. Sanyo should be compensating us. I cannot afford another TV; therefore, I am stuck watching a junk TV. I think this is outrageous! You should not be selling and making money off of your junk product! It would be awesome if you sent me a new TV. But I know that isn't going to happen. After reading all these complaints about the same problem, I believe there needs to be some sort of compensation due to us all. I spent $1200 on this TV expecting to get more than 2 years out of it. I did a research over "product review" and I found out that these TVs are only good for about a year. It's a Model dp46830 purchased at Walmart too! ! I have had sound problems with the TV since the day I bought it which was in January 2011.

We first thought that it was the Cox cable box and replaced quite a few boxes and even had the cable repair guy out on numerous occasions. We just decided to switch some things out, box from another room, cables plugged into different ports. It's still a problem. The Cox box and the PS3 sound cuts out on both of them with a long delay when you turn on/off the TV.

So, I decided to surf the net and found all of these complaints. Needless to say, I am very upset too as I spent a lot of money on it! I found the receipt and luckily I bought the Walmart service plan so we will see if I can get it fixed!

Sanyo 37" HD 1080 model # DP37819 is a piece of junk. The TV is a little over 14 months old. It is used very little (2-3 hours a day). I have been turning it off and on 2-4 times to get the picture to stay on. It was just black. Now recently it’s been. On top of that problem, it has gone green on me several times. So, I got online and started reading about these other problems others have been having, all seeming to be pretty much the same problem happening. So what does that say? There should have been a recall from Sanyo. It’s a real shame that I can’t buy an American made or find someone who tries to even back up their warranties. Sanyo you suck **. And Wal-Mart you’re even worse for selling junk and not replacing it to us Americans that pay your bills.

Maybe we Americans need to start to boycott Wal-Mart if they want to keep taking our hard-earned money, knowing good and well that they are selling lemons to us. Who cares as long as they make their money, right? So I say let’s all boycott to Wal-Mart and to Sanyo for sure. Tell everyone we know what kind of crap they’re selling to us. And let’s quit buying it. We can stop this if we all refuse to purchase their junk. Let’s start a petition to send into Sanyo, stating we all want our junk to be reimbursed or to give us a new TV that works. They will give us something in writing, stating they will replace that TV as well if it stops working properly within the said period of time. Or, just give us our ** money back so we can go to purchase a real TV that’s not going to break down within the 1st year of usage.

I say why don’t all of you send me your complaints in writing, and I will work on trying to get us all compensated for our losses. I can’t promise we will get anything, but we can sure as hell give it a try. I will contact our local media and try to get the word out if others agree with me here and want to do something about it. I feel like Wal-Mart took over so many MA and PA shops, and they shut them all down. But I know those stores would have done everything in their power to keep us consumers happy. But Wal-Mart has gotten so big. They just don’t care if they get a few hundred or thousand customers mad about a product they sold to us. Well, I disagree. It is due time for them to step up to the plate. So let’s do this.

If you agree, then send me your complaints in writing, by mail, and let’s see what we can do. We will take this step by step. It may cost us a few bucks somewhere down the road if we need an attorney’s help. So I will keep you all posted. I am just tired of being ripped off as I am not wealthy, and I am disabled, and don’t have the funds to replace a TV every time it breaks down. If you agree, let’s stand up for our rights. And I hope we can make a difference in this situation. I’m determined to give it hell. How about you? I hope to hear from all of you and your friends and family members too. Spread the word to everyone you know. I’m sure there are more people that haven’t even written in to this yet.

The TV was still under warranty so he got hold of Sanyo and they wanted us to drive 2 hours away to one of their dealers to have it fixed. "Wrong, the main board was messed up again! " The repair man came out again and so it was fixed. Right?

They said that they would call me back but they never did. Don't buy Sanyo.

After reading the reviews on this site, I realize many of us have been ripped off by Wal Mart and Sanyo. I have had my 46" LCD Flat Screen TV since Feb 25, 2009 and paid around $1000.00 for it. It has had half of the screen black intermittently for a few months. Now it will not go away at all.

I bought a 46" LCD Sanyo model DP46848 at Walmart at the pre Black Friday sales one week before Black Friday and this TV is the worst. The screen has been half black for about a year; it seemed to warm up and then be fine, but now it does it the whole time it’s on.

I can't believe Sanyo would make a TV this bad. I have had a RCA TV for about 22 yrs and it still works way better than this one. The only thing wrong is the remote doesn't work anymore and it’s not flat screen of course. Sanyo needs to help all the people who have bought this TV and fix it!

My son's 42 inches Sanyo was purchased at Wal-Mart for his birthday on May 29, 2010. It just stopped working about three days ago. The power light is on, no picture and no sound. I pulled out the paperwork only to find out that the warranty was limited to one year. After 15 minutes on the phone with a Sanyo representative, we were pretty much told, "too bad". We nicely asked the representative to stand behind his product, to which he made no comment. We have TVs in our house that are ten years old or more and still they work fine. What's the deal Sanyo? It's time for this company to go down. We all deserve better.

I have a 46" Sanyo TV I bought 2 years ago from Wal-mart. The left side of the screen turned black. I have had 2 TV repair shops to look at it and they told me that it wasn't worth fixing, that the display board had burnt out and I would have to pay $1,100 for this TV. They also said that I would be better off just buying another one as it would cost too much to fix this one. So, I'm very disappointed. I can't believe that these TVs are junk. I'm finding out that Sanyo is not the TV to buy. I will never buy another Sanyo brand. Now I have no TV and can't afford to buy another one.

It's sad that Wal-mart sells such a bad TV. I had a warranty, and it ran out about a week or so before the TV tore up. I think Sanyo should have to pay half on a new one.

My Sanyo TV has gone bad, its left screen has gone black. It is only a little more than 2 years old but already missed the Walmart extra warranty by a few months. I took it to a tech and was told that the it is not worth repairing. He said Walmart is aware that they sell and represent junk televisions sold under the Sanyo name. But hey, they're cheap for $900.00 though they only last two years. So if you can afford $450.00 a year to watch television, then thank you Walmart and Sanyo for the great deal! If I could partner up with someone in my business and rip off hardworking Americans I would not sleep at night.

The previous complaint explains my product exactly. I bought the exact same TV on Black Friday in 2009 and it is doing the same thing. The green light will come on, verifying it is getting power. But the video and sound will not come on. I am sure this is a defective product. It is only a matter of time before all these TVs do it. Sanyo will do nothing and neither will Wal-Mart. This is exactly like buying a lemon from a used car salesman except, in this case, there is no “Lemon Law”!

My television turns on and off with no sound and no picture. I got this TV on Black Friday of 2009 at Walmart. The TV just broke tonight October 5,2011, while me and my wife were at the store. Our kids called us and told us that our TV was not working, that it just went out. Green light comes on but no picture or sound, then a minute later turns itself off and then another minute or so later, the green light comes back on still with no picture or no sound.

We will never buy another foreign product especially Sanyo. We should have stuck with the American way and that is to buy American. But hey, wait a minute! That will not work either because all American products are made with foreign parts, so nothing is truly American, I guess we're just all screwed!

We bought a Sanyo 46-inch TV in January of 2010. By Feb. 2011, half the screen was black, and there was a green vertical line going across the screen. I tried to email Sanyo for 5 months, asking for help and trying to register a complaint. First, they wanted to charge $25.00 for answers and never once acknowledged my emails. It's the worst TV I have ever owned. In 1 year, the picture was going out.

I bought a Sanyo 42" HDTV in Dec 2009. I didn't have the money to get the warranty and I did not think I would need it, especially so soon. So of course, there is no warranty. Now the green light comes on and the television has sound but no picture. I am a disabled widow and can't afford another TV. I read several complaints on Sanyo TVs and if I get able to buy another TV it won't be a Sanyo.

I bought a 46" LCD Flat Screen television on 14 Mar 10 for my husband's birthday. We have been happy with the television until 2 Oct 11 when the television started to make a loud screeching sound and then the screen would go black. Now, two days later, we cannot even turn the television on because the sound is so loud and the screen is black all the time. My husband contacted the support center and was given a phone number to a repair service. I paid over $700.00 for this television and only got 1 and 1/2 years' worth. Not a good deal at all. I am very upset with Sanyo. Sanyo needs to figure out the problem or quit selling these televisions.
