I purchased a Sanyo 32" HD TV at a local Wal-Mart in January of 2010. The TV worked well for 60 days and then started malfunctioning. At the end of April, the TV would turn on for two seconds, and then go black without sound. I could not reach a Sanyo representative on their consumer hot line, and tried for three days to do so. Therefore, I took the TV to a local repair shop which noted the malfunction. They were able to contact Sanyo and were directed by Sanyo to tell me to take the TV to a Sanyo approved repair shop.

The TV worked for the Sanyo approved shop, and thought the problem was solved. I brought the TV home and installed it, and now I get two seconds of snow and hiss, and then the TV goes black. I have two other HD TV’s hooked up to my cable service and they work well. On May 15th, I sent a kind and informative letter to Sanyo Corp. narrating my experience and that my TV is still malfunctioning, actually, not working at all. It has been five weeks without any reply from Sanyo Corp. At the end of my letter, I suggested that they replace my TV as a way to resolve the issue. Although, they could communicate with me and ask that I send the TV to their own technicians for analysis and repair, yet think it would be more cost effective to simply replace the TV. The consequences of my failed Sanyo HD TV after 60 days of use and no gesture from Sanyo to replace my TV is that I now have a nonfunctional 32 inch TV that cost 408 dollars, and therefore, the holder of a 408 dollar loss. Additionally, I paid the first TV repair service 60 dollars for initial analysis and the time they spent contacting Sanyo. I have spent travel time and expense taking and picking up my TV without any repair resolve.

I bought 46 inch Sanyo TV, started having dark line on left side, one day turned it on and half the screen is black, takes a long time to come back right. So I have to leave it on constantly, called tech support and they say nothing they can do, it is only 1 year and 2 months old, seems there products go bad after the warranty runs out, very strange that there is so many people complaining about the same similar problems. I will never buy another Sanyo product ever!

I purchased a 46" HD TV from Walmart, a Sanyo. I have had this TV for not even 2 years. I purchased it on August 30th, 2008. Last month, maybe on April 25 or so, a light to dark shade came across the set flashed on an off and stayed on for almost the rest of the night. I called a repairman who I was told from Sanyo to call and he, the repairman, said it was the LCD panel and it would cost $1460 more than the TV cost, and now was not available for my set, not that I was going to have it repaired for that kind of money more than the TV was worth. So the question now is no warranty expired, but why do they make TVs and parts that are more than the TV? So no, is it that the ones they sell break down and can’t get parts for so just return them for another? Wrong, not when the warranty is expired, and another TV to purchase from Sanyo, no way. Heck never again from them. I’m now out of $1098, but now have I to purchase another model. I am going to get in touch with the Better Business Bureau and file a report to see what they or can be done with this complaint.

They do not want you to have these numbers. They know something is wrong with their product. They admitted today and I quote: “This is new technology." They know there is a problem. I spoke to a Best Buy’s tech and he announced that "Wal-Mart" TVs have cheaper parts in them so they can sell them cheap. I spent 6 hours getting those numbers. My TV is doing the same as everybody else’s. Kind of funny we all have the same problems. I lost 6 hours getting those numbers back. Sanyo is very uncooperative in the matter of admitting there is a problem.

Purchased a 26" Sanyo TV from WalMart about 6 months ago. Set started turning off and on all by itself. Called Sanyo for repair, they sent a technician from K-Pro. After 10 days, technician called us, telling us that the part for the set was back ordered and that we should come and pick up the set and take it back to WalMart.

Of course WalMart says they won't take it back. I am sending letters, faxes, calling, etc., to no avail. I am without a set and I am pissed off!

They replaced my 42 inch (for 400) that was only two years old. I took 20 phone calls to get to the right person. Now, the new 42 inch (DP42849) less than 30 days old is broken, will power on and that's it, no picture, nothing. This TV was for my vacation cabin and only worked for three days. My vacation was ruined. I had Dish Network setup a dish and now I had to come home.

I bought a Sanyo 50 inch television from a furniture store for a $1000 in Feb 2009. I began to using the television but no more than twice a week in September 2009. At the end of March 2010, the television stopped working. After speaking with Sanyo and the furniture store, I decided to call a television repair company. The guy came to my home and said it was the power supply. After a day, the guy called and said Sanyo doesn't make the part anymore. Here is my issue! After completing some research on the internet, I discovered many consumers had the same problem. I think Sanyo knows that the televisions are defective.

On December 23, my mother and father bought my brother and I a new Sanyo 52-inch Plasma TV's for Christmas. I pulled mine out of the box and hooked it up and nothing happened. We took it back to Walmart and without any problems they gave us another one. For 3 years we enjoyed or Sanyo TV. Then in March of 2010 we turned it on and sparks came out the back and it won't come on for longer than 4 seconds before shutting off again. If you turn it on more than four times, it will stop coming on at all.

So now we are out a 1200 dollar TV that just sits in the living room reminding us of what we once had. We were lucky my mother and father bought us such a big TV. We can't afford to replace it as the economy is bad right now, so we are left with a big TV that does not work. It seems that if you pay over 1200 dollars for a TV, it should last longer than 3 years. It scares me a little to buy another big TV if they only last a couple of years. I can't throw that kind of money away.

My husband and I purchased a Sanyo 46" LCD TV the week after Christmas, 2009. On 3/17/10, the TV broke! I was baffled that a brand new TV - less than 3 months old - would break down. My husband called your customer service line. He was given the name/location of a nearby certified Sanyo repair center in Media, PA. My husband took the TV there on 3/18/10. My husband spoke to the repair center on 3/22/10 at which time he was told parts were ordered but they had no idea when the parts would be in. They said the communication from Sanyo regarding parts to repair places was poor.

I called Sanyo customer service that evening. I was told the parts were shipped that day and would be to the repair center in 2 business days. I was also told I could call Sanyo customer service at any time to verify when the parts were delivered as Sanyo can track that information. If Sanyo can track the parts, why isn't that shared with the repair center? So I waited 2 days and called customer service on the evening of 3/24/10. This time, I was told the parts would not be delivered to the repair center until Friday, 3/26/10. Needless to say, I was annoyed that I had been given contradictory information just 2 days prior.

So I waited until Friday and called the repair center. I got their answering machine which indicated I should leave a message and I would receive a phone call the next business day. I left a message with all the required information. The repair center is open on Saturday. When my husband dropped off the TV for repair, he was told they are open and do business on Saturdays. I received no call today, so I called the repair center again early this afternoon (around 2 pm) and left a message. Apparently, you cannot speak to a live person at this place. I still have not heard from them.

This will sound like a made up story but it isn't. My husband and I were happy with the TV (good picture, easy to use, good price). We have been saving to buy 2 additional TVs - a 19" and a 26" - for other rooms in our house. We had already looked at and priced Sanyos. The bottom line is, I am extremely frustrated. I am still amazed that my brand new, less-than-3-months-old TV broke in the first place. And no one has done anything to expedite the repairs. I am paying additional money to my cable provider for high def service and a high definition converter box. I have not been able to utilized the high definition since the TV broke as it is the only high definition TV I own. I will never again buy a Sanyo product if this situation is an example of the quality of their products and the customer service they provide.

We purchased a 42" Sanyo television February 2008, which cost approximately $800. In September 2009 the screen went black. The set still had sound and would change channels, but no picture. My husband called Sanyo and was told it had been over one year and there was nothing they would do since we hadn't purchased one of their extended warranties when we bought the TV. In February of this year we took the set to a repairman to get it fixed. The repairman also had problems with Sanyo and found that a major component would have to be replaced to repair the set. We just had to ask him to bring the set back. It would have cost almost as much to fix the set as it cost originally. We have lost the original cost of $800 for the set as well as the time lost from work to talk to Sanyo and Wal-Mart when trying to get someone to fix the television. Now we are out of a new television.

I purchased a Sanyo DP37647 LCD HDTV in May of 2007. After 2.5 years, the set began to display black smears on the left and right sides of the screen. I contacted Sanyo and their response was "sorry, take to a local repair shop of your choosing." It's absolutely no help. It is outrageous that a TV that cost $800 has such a short life span and no customer support.

I received a Sanyo Digital TV as a gift on December 25, 2009. It replaced a 19-inch analog TV. I was thrilled about it. Now here it is March 2010. What is happening with America? The gift by itself was and is appreciated, but it’s more about these really huge companies, I guess. I turned the Sanyo 26" digital TV off the other night and the next morning when I turned it on, I only had sound with no picture.

At first, of course, I thought it might be my fault in that I could have pressed a button on the remote controller that caused the Sanyo TV not to have a picture come up. I believe that Sanyo got a little ahead of itself jumping on the digital TV bandwagon and purchased or manufactured inferior components for the units they sold here in America. I could never accept another Sanyo product as a replacement to the TV that now sits here in my living room as a sorry example of how to start a conversation. I wouldn't purchase anything that had the "Sanyo" brand on it. With this Sanyo TV going out on me, I'll have to purchase another digital TV or try to buy a converter box for my analog TV.

I bought a 32" Sanyo LCD flat screen TV from Walmart in May 2007. It died 12 months later. Sanyo told me it was still under warranty and to return it to Walmart for a replacement. I did. Walmart said no way. I had Walmart call Sanyo. After the call, Walmart reversed themselves. I was to get a replacement TV at no charge.

I requested to buy a larger TV and pay Walmart the difference. They agreed. I left with a 42" Sanyo LCD flat screen TV. It died last month (Feb 2010). It had lasted 21 months. I took it to a TV repair shop in Dalton, GA. They said it needed a new inverter. The part alone was over $300. I got in touch with Sanyo customer service. They said "***** ***. "

Never more will I buy a Sanyo. Side notes: 1) Sanyo is a Chinese corporation. The first TV lasted 12 months and died. The second TV lasted 21 months and died. Nice product, China. 2) Everyone I talked to at Sanyo customer service was Hispanic. 3) Whatever happened to American?

Well, on Feb. 24, 2010, I went to my doctor's appointment. When I came home, I tried to turn my TV on and it would not turn on. I checked the plug and the outlet to see if I might have blown a fuse but it turned out that it wasn't the outlet. So I began looking through my paper work and the TV for the warranty dates. I called Walmart to see what they could do. They told me that they could not do anything and gave me the 800 number for the warranty for Sanyo Corp.

After I talked to them and they told my that yes, it was under warranty (and would get back with me in about 48 hours), I would get a call from Sanyo Corp. to tell what they wanted to do to resolve this problem. I didn't hear from them until I called them back in a week. At that time, they said that they would call me within 24 hours. This time, I still didn't hear from them until I called them three days after.

I called them once more and then, I was told that all she could is forward my complaint to the corporate office. All I had to do was wait for the phone call to receive my numbers--to exchange my broken TV with a new TV from Walmart.

TV "died" with no warning after 3 yrs and 1-1/2 months and I am not a happy camper with Sanyo or Walmart. I purchased Sanyo 32" LCD-HD (Vizio), model #DP32746 at a local Walmart on 1/6/07 for $768 and also bought additional 2 yr warranty from Walmart for another $58.88. I did experience lines, or shadows, on the right side of the screen but could live with that.

On the morning of 10 Feb 2010, the TV was working fine. I turned it on after work and had audio with a black screen. Audio did not last long before I lost that. At first, I thought it could be satellite trouble but my bedroom TV (different brand) was working fine. The TV is a piece of junk. There was no response from a call to Sanyo. I hung up after a long time on hold.

After reading similar problems from consumers with Sanyo and Walmart, I am just going to hold on to my paperwork in hopes of a class action suit. I will box up the TV and put it in the cellar as I don't want it plugged in with a chance of a fire starting. These LCD HD TVs are not cheap and I, for one, would like to see Sanyo and Walmart be held accountable for shoddy products and not standing behind their customers who expect, and deserve, better products and service for our hard earned money. This consumer will not buy either any SANYO products ever, nor will I purchase any electronics from Walmart ever again.

The TV cost $768 at Walmart plus I purchased additional 2 yr warranty for $58.88. I work hard for my money and thought long and hard before I purchased this expensive set. The TV lasted just over 3 yrs. No more SANYO or Walmart for me. I learned my lesson (What would Sam think?)

Sanyo for all 0f 2008 denied that the tv was even manufactured by them and in 2009 when I threatened them and sent letters to their presidents containing documented proof and records of my ordeal-they admitted that the Tv is a Sanyo and was sold by Walmart. Both companies still have refused to honor the warranty that came with the TV and cannot decide who should replace it . They both have agreed that I have produced proof that I was at the store and the Tv was sold by Walmart and that I should have been given a replacement but they continually offer me things that are less than what is stated in the warranty the warranty states specifically that they will exchange the Tv "By over the counter exchange". I was told by Sanyo I should have been given a comparable Tv the same or better than what I had when I returned it. I simply want what the warranty states nothing less and nothing more. Two weeks ago Walmart called agreed to fix the TV at no cost to me so I returned it to the store. I was called the other day and I was told the TV could not be fixed as parts are not available. I took it in on october 22 2008,december 12,2008 and february 19 2009 and it's still not fixed, but I called they said the screen is now broke, and sanyo may not fix the problem, but the screen doesn't even light up.I don't know how they made that assumption. But I still bought the extended warranty it should be covered with that anyway.Every time the tv shut off it smoked real bad,I think after 3 times smoking. It probably got too hot and it cracked,as far as i know?

Last night when watching our 42" plasma tv, it just went black, no picture and no sound and we havent even had the tv for two years. This morning i called the tech support for Sanyo, and after telling the tech the model no. of the tv, with out asking me any questions or even trying to trouble shoot, he asks me if we have the extended warrenty, which we didnt have. I then asked him what difference does it make, i wanted to know what the problem was. He then told me and again mind you there was no trouble shooting or questions asked, it was a problem with the circuit board. I asked him then was this a common problem with this kind of tv, because after giving him the model no.

he needed no more information, didnt ask to reset the tv or try any problem solving, he just knew what it was. apparenty it is a common problem, and does happen often. I wrote the corporate office asking them to either fix or replace the tv. i feel when you buy something it shouldnt break down so easily or so quickly, these tvs are not cheep. what ever you can do for us is appreciated, as a consumer i feel we have no rights at all anymore, they just make things to breakdown. this set us back a pretty penny, we paid over $1,200 for this set, and can not afford another. thanks for your time and letting me rant. god bless.
