It seems in an effort to drive a disposable economy, Samsung has been knowingly using subpar capacitors in their TVs, causing them to turn on and off at random. Don't believe me? Google "why is my Samsung TV turning on by itself". Here I thought I was the only one. Tonight mine started turning on and off every 5 seconds. It's 2.5 years old. Sure it's not top of the line anymore, but considering I still have the 12-inch TV/VCR unit of my teens, I thought I would get more out of this one. Alas, it will be a sad and quiet night.

I purchased a 40" Samsung Smart TV online a little over one year ago. TV was nice looking, had beautiful color, easy to follow menus, great internet access. I paid $600 for this TV thinking I had an investment. I recently lost the ability to access the internet through my television. The Samsung online chat tech support was awful. They kept telling me to try unplugging the TV then plugging it back in, or to try contacting my wireless provider. There was a two week waiting list to have one of their certified technicians come to my home.

I decided to call a local tv repair service. He knew the problem right away - the wifi adapter, a tiny piece of cheap plastic the size of a matchbook was no longer working. He replaced it in 10 mins. and said this was a typical problem with Samsung TVs and not just this model. It cost me $185 for him to come to my home and repair it. The tv worked great and I was back on the internet. 3 days later, the tv started turning on and off by itself, over and over again, incessantly, no picture, nothing. I called the local tv repairman back. He diagnosed the problem over the phone and said "again, this is a common problem with Samsung tvs. Your motherboard needs to be replaced." He came out, replaced the motherboard in 20 mins. at a cost of $200 and now the tv is working like the day I bought it.

This tv isn't even 2 years old. So a $600 television ended up costing me nearly $1000.00. I thought Samsung was a great product name. I'll never buy another Samsung product. Don't buy this tv unless you only expect a year or so of enjoyment then are willing to pay another $400 dollars to get it working properly again because of cheaply made internal electronic components. I'm not a spiteful person and rarely give bad reviews on anything but I found this experience unacceptable for an international company with such a vast product line. I post this review to suggest you try Sony or another brand because my experience is not isolated and is common.

In 2013 I purchased a Samsung TV, model #UN60ES8000F. This was an expensive TV but had all the bells and whistles (3D, SmartTV, camera, etc), and was considered their top of the line TV at the time. I paid a little over $3000.00 for the TV and the salesperson said that Samsung TVs had issues with previous models, but that Samsung claimed they had "fixed" those with this model TV. He recommended I look at another brand but I opted for the Samsung instead. Well now I am kicking myself for not listening to him. The TV started with a small black blotch towards the bottom half of the TV.

Over the past month, the picture became visibly darker and eventually the top half of the TV was barely visible. I contacted Samsung and paid $90 for a service call only to find out that the LED panel was defective. To replace the LED panel it would cost me $1398.00. Samsung stated they could do nothing to help me out even though I have only had the TV a little over 3 years. So to have a TV last me 4 years or more, I would have to have paid over $4300.00. I have a Sharp LED TV that I purchased in 2011 and it still runs perfectly.

I am disgusted that Samsung will not stand by their products. I recently purchased a 4k TV and refrigerator from Samsung. Those will be my last Samsung product purchases!!! I will have to extend the warranties on both to ensure I get the use out of them for the money I paid for them. I no longer will recommend Samsung products to my friends or family. The only reliable purchase from Samsung has been my Galaxy phone. DO NOT PURCHASE SAMSUNG PRODUCTS - BE WARNED!!!

I have a 65" Samsung Smart Hub TV. I purchased it in March, 2013. It's just outside of warranty. The TV will no longer turn on, or will only turn on with great effort. I have to hold the on button for the remote continuously to get a flashing red light, but even after that, nothing happens. If I turn it off and turn it on after that, I might get sound, but I am no longer getting a picture. This TV isn't worth it, and judging by other reviews, I think this is a systematic problem that Samsung seems utterly unwilling to fix. I won't buy any other of their products of any type. My humble suggestion for them: Fix this problem for consumers, for free, quickly, and without any questions asked, and do so regardless of whether the TV is still under warranty. If not, you will certainly face the wrath of the market and will be out of business.

Unbelievable! Most pathetic excuse for a company that I have ever experienced. I have probably been on the phone 15-20 times for probably 15 hours total with these idiots! Yes, idiots because that is perhaps the nicest word I can use to describe these idiots. Every single call led to hours with them being unable to provide the service because, they either left off the home visit criteria, coded it for commercial not residential, did not put the fact that they were granting me a 1 time warranty visit!!! Really I began this process on April 24, 2016 and as of 6/3/16 they are now saying they will grant me a one time warranty coverage as according to them my warranty expired on 5/31/16. We did not purchase it till after 6/2015 it had a 1 year warranty so how is it not covered?

According to heather the supervisor she stated that the coverage ran out on its manufactures date. Really?! Unless I can provide her with a copy of the receipt which I do have in my possession yet, until now there was no issue with me providing a receipt. Apparently, they will extend my warranty to the actual one year date of purchase!!! As if, they are doing me a favor! Do yourself a favor and do not purchase their products ever. They do not deserve the 1 star rating!!!

I ordered two Samsung counter top TV's for my shore house last fall and brought them to the shore to set up. I did not have the sales receipt with me. One of the two boxes is missing the three plastic screws to attach the TV to its mount. So I called customer "service". After thirty minutes, they say they can't provide the screws that they didn't pack without a sales receipt (I had given them all the information on the box). So the TV is essentially useless. Based on my experience with the one TV, the mount is poorly designed.

I have seen folks describing how Samsung TV's are designed to fail and this is correct. Mine failed after exactly 3 years and 2 months (1 year factory warranty and 2 years extended). It would seem logical to just make a good high-quality product that DOESN'T FAIL to increase customer loyalty. Samsung used to be the best on the market some claimed. This could not be farther from the truth. Every Samsung product I have ever had has failed, it's that simple. Pls call me at ** if a second class action lawsuit comes around thanks!

We spent $2000 for a Samsung UN55ES6500FXZA 55" Smart TV from Sears. We picked it up in March 2013. Now I would like to say it has been trouble-free until now but that would be a smoke screen. It has frequently turned off by itself, shown green colors or colored lines and constantly had trouble connecting to the internet.

I mentioned above that every Samsung product I have had has failed. Although I have not owned numerous products--I have owned four. My first was a P2 MP3 player. Its headphone jack failed, and I actually had that repaired, and then it finally just quit coming on a year later. And let me mention: the tech that repaired my MP3 said "there's hardly any solder on here" when he was removing the bad headphone jack!! My second product was a QWERTY cell phone that the buttons all rubbed off (unlike the LG that I had next which was bulletproof). I owned a Galaxy S3 that the screen started flickering after 1 YEAR and a Note 3 that just quit working altogether. Now one of my most prized possessions, a 55" LED TV has the power light flashing and clicking; very similar to problems other folks experienced and are currently experiencing.

I contacted Samsung yesterday about this. They did have my TV on file from when I originally registered it. The rep from India was hard to understand but she said I would have to shoulder all parts and labor for a repair and that my TV was not included in the capacitor issue even though it is showing the same symptoms. Bottom line, a $2000 TV should last more than 3 years! My last TV lasted for ten years and I sold it and it was still working!

VERY disappointed in Samsung, as are many other folks. It would think it is time to quit cutting corners and make a quality product that matches the price charged. I am waiting for the day when Samsung comes out with a new commercial and says "we've listened to you, and we're building a solid product with a better warranty..." That day will eventually come after they alienate more and more customers with their horrendous customer service like I received. Just hope folks don't flock back as they will have ran off quite a few customers by then! In my opinion a ten year warranty parts & labor would not be unreasonable for what they charge.

I bought a 50inch LED Smart TV from Samsung back in February of 2016. One day I turn my TV on and it's fine, picture is great, everything is working. I switch over to my PS4 to play a game. All of a sudden two thin black lines appear on the left-hand side of my TV running from top to bottom across the screen. I contact Samsung and file a repair ticket.

Samsung sends out a service tech who takes pictures of my TV and sends them to Samsung. They call me back and inform me that Samsung has denied my repair. So I call Samsung to see what the problem is. Their product review team determined that my TV suffered physical damage due to an outside impact force. Recall that this happened as I was using my TV and nothing impacted it. After informing them of this, I was told they would submit another repair ticket and send out a different repair company. This second company decided to use the same pictures instead of taking new ones and submitted those to Samsung. The repair company told me it did NOT look like impact damage to them. Nevertheless, Samsung's product support team once again denied my ticket for the same reasons.

At this point I was sent to talk to an escalations manager who informed me there is no way for the customer to contact the product review team. There is no appeals process for the customer. What the team decides is the final say and that's that. So I file a complaint with the BBB and get a call back from their Office of the President giving me once again the same answer. They determined something impacted my TV and caused those lines and they refuse to fix it.

Samsung has some of the most shoddy customer service I have ever experienced and they basically called me a liar and refuse to take responsibility for their products' defects. After researching this issue, other people have had this problem and some have even stated that the lines can come from the TV overheating and damaging the screen. Something that is completely out of the customers' hands but Samsung considers physical damage and won't fix.

Do yourself a favor and NEVER PURCHASE A SUMSUNG TV or HOME AUDIO equipment!!! I've had my TV less than 3 years and I've had the screen replaced 3 times (yeah, seriously) and it needs to be replaced again. Samsung customer service has been completely awful during this entire process. They've fought with me tooth and nail every time just to have my products fixed at my expense. After spending $3,000 on the TV itself I've had to spend hundreds of dollars additional on repairs that they still don't put a warranty on. I've spend countless hours on the phone begging them just to get them to cover the parts. I still had to pay labor every time. All they did was try over and over again to sell me a extended warranty and tell me how lucky I was that they were going to help me with that. Are you kidding me?? I seriously thought they were joking around at first.

When I bought the TV I got a Samsung Soundbar too cause I wanted it to match and I thought they would play nice together. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S7. You'd think everything would work great together. Wrong!! The soundbar still won't connect with my phone with breaking up. I had it replaced right away thinking it was just a bad one. Nope. The new one I got doesn't connect either. Every company is going to have a dud once in a while. That's understandable. This has been multiple products and replacement parts with no resolution. Even after all this, the thing that hurts the worst is that Samsung hasn't owned up to any of it or tried to help in anyway. I literally had to beg each time.

I've been a Samsung champion for years (can you tell by all the Samsung products I own?). I really feel let down with their newer products but more importantly the fact that they truly don't care about their customers. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as you can. As much as I hate to say it, it might be time to start considering an iPhone. Side note - I have a Sony TV that's a similar size and a surround sound system that I've had for 10 years in my room and I've never had one problem. Not one.

After a positive interaction with Samsung TV, Susan increased their star rating on June 16, 2016.

    Updated review: June 16, 2016

Samsung delivered a new tv to me and took back the defective one. It took over a month to get it taken care of, but in the end, they did make good on the warranty and provided me with a new tv. I am leaving the stars rating where it is because it was an absolute nightmare dealing with customer service and I should not have had to go through all of that. If you call customer service, you reach a call center in another country and the people do not speak English very well and have no idea where you are in relation to where they are telling you that you have to "carry" your tv for free warranty repairs. When you get really upset and they transfer you to an "executive", you end up being transferred back to the US and that is the only way you can actually receive customer service. Even with that, they tell you it is 24 to 48 hours before they will call you back. They do not and you have to start all over again.

When you get back to a "real" customer service rep in the US, they help you and then the 24 to 48-hour clock starts all over again. At the end when they decided they would replace the tv, I was told the trucking firm would call me 10 to 14 days to schedule the swap out. It was 15 business days before I got that call. I am just glad this is over and I have a tv to watch again.

    Original Review: May 9, 2016

My 40" Samsung LED Smart tv has stopped working after less than 6 months of use. It flashes Smart TV across the screen every few seconds, but will not completely come on. Have tried unplugging, restarting everything, changed batteries, etc. Nothing works, cannot even turn it off on the tv set. Called Customer Service and got someone that does not speak English very well. She had me check the power surge strip to make sure it was getting power, turn it on/off, then she wanted me to unplug from the power surge and plug directly into the wall to make sure it was getting power. I told her 1/2 dozen times it was getting power because it is flashing smart tv across the screen and the red light is blinking.

She then tells me it is covered under warranty and someone will come to my house free of charge. Ok, "when?" Then she tells me she has to send my address to the tech. Ok. Then she proceeds to give me an address. I stopped her, "wait, you said they were coming here, why are you giving me an address". She tells me that because it is a 40", they will not come out, I have to take it to them. "Ok, what is the address." She gives me an address in the State of Florida. I live in North Carolina, I am not driving a tv to FL for warranty work. She said that is the ONLY tech they have so I asked for a supervisor and after a long time, I get a supervisor that speaks English a little better and she says the same thing - I have to take it to the state of FL for free repair work. Not acceptable. Either you will replace my tv, refund my money or give me an address within 25 to 30 miles of where I live to take it for repair.

That is absolute deception and should be clearly noted when they advertise that there is NO warranty. Who in their right mind would drive a tv from NC to FL to have it "looked at"? It may be a 40" and not a 70", but to me, it cost a lot of money and I should not have to throw it away after less than 6 months. TVs used to last 15 years. I was very upset as I cannot buy another one and ditch this one. She told me that an "executive" will be calling me back tomorrow between 9 am and 9 pm. I have a Samsung Oven that did not work when delivered. There were no issues having them deliver another one the next week and made good on it.

This type of customer service is not acceptable in any size, shape or form and they should not be allowed to conduct business like this. I had done my research and saw that Samsung got high reviews for quality before I purchased this set and one for my mother. People must have been posting reviews before they had had their tvs for 6 months.

I bought a Samsung Smart 50" LED TV (Model UN50H5303AFXZP) on June 12, 2015. This unit was kept inside its original box until I finished some remodeling in my living room. On January 28, 2016, I decided to install my TV, and when I turned it ON, surprisingly, it showed a big, black spot, almost as big as the screen. Immediately, I proceeded to call for a claim. Initially, I called Sam's Asurion Protection Plan for presenting a claim, but they said that I had to contact Samsung Electronics instead of them, since the first year of warranty is covered by Samsung Electronics as the manufacturer.

The first time I called Samsung Electronics (800-682-3180, for a spanish-speaker customer service representative), their representative told me that Samsung Electronics would contact a service center in Ponce, Puerto Rico (H S Electronics). Then, he gave me a number for my order, and told me that next day, early in the morning, H S Electronics would be called. Nothing happened. On February 11, 2016 (approx. 7:00 pm, PR time), I called again to check for the status of my order. The representative told me that he, himself, was going to call H S Electronics next day, first thing in the morning, to get the reason for ignoring my first claim.

Next day, on February 12, I received an e-mail message in which they gave me a Service Order Number. Among other things, the message said, "H S Electronics, Inc, will visit you on 16/02/2016. Your Service Order Number is **". They never called me, neither came to my house. Again, my claim was not satisfied, so I have to call a third time. On February 22, 2016, I talked to a representative that told me that there was a recent e-mail for me regarding my claim. It was not true, because I was talking to her while looking at my e-mail. She told me that she would call H S Electronics to get an update of my claim. She also told me that a technician would call me to arrange a visit to come and take the TV to their repair center. Nothing happened.

Once more - and this was my fourth and last call - I tried to get any information on my claim. A representative talked to me and said that she, herself, would deal with my claim, and that I would be able to receive news soon. Today, on May 3, 2016, I have not received any call, message or notification regarding my claim. It is really hard to think about how much more time and patience (not talking about money - the TV cost is $589.00), I have to lose in all this process.

All I want is the same model of TV on my living room's wall, working as a Samsung TV should. I know Samsung is a great brand. Their TV's are among the best regarding technology, customer satisfaction and image quality, resolution and clarity. In a sense, I trusted Samsung for its excellence and reputation among other brands in the market. But this situation regarding their warranty, showing problems with customer service and lack of satisfaction, may give potential customers a reason to think twice when considering what TV they are going to buy. Thank you for your attention.

I have gone back and forth with their online support people only to get redirected to someone on the phone who only offers to point you to the store you can go to to pay to have it fixed. I live in New York City and they want me to lug my 55 inch TV to Woodside, New York because their TV's don't last. Anyways thought people should be aware. I'm going with Sony or Sharp going forward.

My husband and I purchased this TV in December 2015. The first one as soon as we pulled it out of the box the screen was already ruined so we were able to return it and get another TV, same make and model. It's been almost exactly four months and we do have a 2-year warranty. This TV was not cheap and we thought it best to get a warranty. I had been watching television one day and stepped out of the room and came back in and noticed a huge crack in the screen and three-quarters of the screen was completely white. So I went through the proper channels and the first question out of the customer service person was do I have children? What does that have to do with the problem with my television? And the nerve of this man to try to blame a defect on my autistic son is discriminatory. And they told me it appears that my son was at fault and he must have thrown something at the TV.

So after this text came out and told me that I was SOL. My husband and I both grabbed a small toy owned by my son and threw it at the screen and not a mark was left. So we proved that theory wrong that throwing something at the screen is going to cause a crack. And my husband threw it pretty hard at the TV a lot stronger than a child would. We had nothing to lose as the screen is already broken. But it was very obvious that this was not caused by a small child or anything being thrown at the television. Said it's just their way of getting out of having to pay for a less-than-stellar product. The packaging makes it look all pretty but when it comes down to it they're selling a cheap TV dressed up to look like something else. I didn't know that their techs did remote viewing.

My husband also placed a phone call and they sent the Geek Squad out here. And the technician called and asked why he was coming out. There seems to be a communication breakdown when it comes to the texts that are sent to your home and the customer service people. Before I turned on the TV I made a point of showing him that they were absolutely no scratches on the screen itself. Everything was completely smooth. And I was told by one of the technicians and customer service that this TV comes with a glass protector. The technician at my home told me that was incorrect and wanted to know who told me that. I said, "Your customer service". I said, "If that's wrong they don't know what the hell they're talking about".

So I turned on the TV and again he immediately blamed my son for throwing something at the TV. I know for a fact that no one was in the room at the time that this happened. They were just looking for an excuse as to not cover this under the warranty we had purchased. According to them they do not cover any physical damage done to the TV. But from what I have read online this seems to be an ongoing problem with the curved TV. And my sixteen-year-old had a valid point that when you curved piece of glass you're putting extra pressure and it's only a matter of time before the screen will break. But considering that the damage was on the inside of the screen it should have been covered under my warranty. But the way they are stating the warranty works that the warranty is useless as the paper it is written on and we spent close to $200 on a warranty.

If they're going to guarantee their product then the warranty should cover any damage done to the product whether it's accidental or if it's a defect. Samsung is a multi-billion dollar company and to give their consumers the run-around just shows that they were only out to make money. So right now I have a very expensive paperweight. I will never buy a Samsung product again. Their customer service had no right asking me if I had children for starters especially when they had no idea that I have an autistic son. You talk about being judgemental it's right up there with being discriminatory. That's statement says to me, "Don't bother purchasing one of these expensive TV's if you have children".

The only thing I'm getting back is the money I spent on the warranty which is very shady of them. They won't fix my TV but they give me my money back for my warranty. Something seems very wrong with that. But there is a class action lawsuit that is building against Samsung for selling a product with the cheapest parts money can buy. And then they don't stand by their product. Buyer beware.

Soon the TV will be unusable (it is hard to watch now). I believe that a television of the cost of this one SHOULD LAST LONGER. We love Samsung products and so when we decided to replace our old TV with a new big screen model UN48JU640DFXZA. We keep having problems with it shutting off after being on for about 30 minutes or longer. The screen would just turn black and the red light at the bottom of the screen would stay off. We would merely turn the set off and then back on and it would work fine until it happened again... and again. We called tech support twice and did what they asked unplugging and holding buttons for 1 minute, but it kept happening. Today we are returning the set to COSTCO because we are still within our 90 days return period. I liked the picture quality but wish that the speakers were in the front as we are a little hard of hearing and had to turn it up quite a bit to hear the dialogue.

My TV is 10 months old as I write this and has been used for less than half its life. We had it in storage shortly after we bought it while renovations were being complete. In October of 2015 we experienced our first problem with the TV (UN55 H6360AFX). We went through the Samsung warranty protocol and had a technician come out to fix the problem. This took about 2 weeks to resolve. A month later we had another (different) problem and again we went through the warranty routine and technician came out to fix the problem (another two weeks to resolve). Three weeks pass and we had yet another problem which was different from the first three (the TV is dead, won't turn on!!). I am now asking Samsung warranty to have my TV replaced and after talking to someone in a department that deals with customers like me they said NO, will send out a technician to have a look.

The technician comes out and determines that the panel need to be replaced (takes 4 weeks to resolve). Problem solved until yesterday! TV dies again!! I call Samsung and try to contain my emotions after they tell me again that they will NOT replace my TV and that until a technician tells them the TV is not repairable. They will not replace. Samsung has lost me forever and if you are reading this you need to seriously consider your buying choices as I would STRONGLY suggest you stay away from Samsung as well. I truly believe they are waiting until my 12 months are up so they can say, "It's not our problem anymore".

I bought a Samsung 55 inch TV in September and didn't unpack it until 2 days ago. The TV has a major screen issue and the TV doesn't work. The Samsung Warranty folks have diagnosed the issue as a 'panel' issue and say that the television is not longer warrantied under their 12 month warranty. The reason they say the TV is not covered under the warranty is that I have had it for over 30 days. I needed to report the damage within the first 30 days of ownership. I've spent countless hours on the phone with people who barely speak English and finally learned this today.

While touting their '12 month warranty' they do not highlight that you must report issues within the first 30 days. I bought this TV for an addition on my house which ended up taking way longer to build than I'd anticipated and just kept the TV in its shipping box until the addition was FINALLY ready for the TV. Had I known that I needed to test the TV within the 1st 30 days, I clearly would have done so. So, be warned: the 12 month warranty is really a 30 day warranty. I have now lost hours of my life on hold and being told that they are 'sorry for my inconvenience' and have finally discovered that I have a $750.00 piece of trash.

Finally I made the decision to have the TV repaired, as it appeared that the damage had been further assessed and had been caused by physical damage. Note, we had removed the TV carefully from the wall on two occasions, to install SONOS cabling. Upon paying for the repair, I was given a copy of the service report. This stated the crack was a stress crack in the screen caused by faulty screen, physical damage. So the exact cause of the cracking had not been determined and probably is not able to be determined. So I phoned Samsung again and the reviewing officer refused to speak with them. She merely advised that I should take up the matter with Consumer Affairs in Victoria.

Since this is an intermittent issue we can never get it to act up in the store and they claim they don't have the time to wait for the problem. They offered to send it into the repair place for a month or so, and if they can't find the problem I will have to pay the shipping fees. I will never buy a Samsung again and NEVER from Best Buy.

Purchase date of March 2011 (approximate). The initial problem with this Samsung television (Model number UN46C8000XF) was an issue with the picture freezing. The problem advanced to the appearance of a thin blue line while viewing for less than an hour. The television was shut off, unplugged, plugged in, powered up and now a white screen where picture barely visible. Then the television died. Request made that Samsung identify and repair this television failure at little or no cost. This was a very expensive television and it was expected to run trouble free for several years. I have owned other TVs that have lasted 10, 15, 20 years or longer. Samsung replied there were no recalls on this TV, but offered very little other useful troubleshooting information.

I purchased a Samsung 46" 3D Smart TV (UN46D6400UFXZA) in Jan 2011. Within the past month, the picture started flickering from dark to light, then, back dark again. It was also noticed that the screen has some type of a "burn in" It looks like there is a picture frame around the inside of the frame, which is distorting the view. I tried to fix the flickering by turning off the eco solution mode and energy saving mode per research I had done on the internet. I contacted Samsung support only to find, since the TV is out of warranty, they will do nothing about it. I even called Samsung to find out a reputable rep located near me.

The rep came back with one in Florida! Now, I live in PA and according to the rep, my closest service tech he could find is in Florida. First off, I think it is a quality issue that Samsung should address regardless of warranty, and secondly, they should have a service rep in PA. Why should I pay big $$ for something that has quality issues in a couple years when I could spend less and get either the same quality, or better. We have 3 Samsung TVs but, as the "quality" diminishes, they will be replaced by another brand other than Samsung.

At the end of November 2015, I ordered a TV on the Samsung company website. The model was ‘out of stock' at that time. I received a general confirmation of the order and then no information as when Samsung expected to complete the order. Periodically, over the next 2 months I got additional emails telling me my item was not available and backordered. Again, NO new information at all. On January 25th 2016, after 2 months, I called the Samsung directly and cancelled my order. Clear and simple. Lo and behold... the VERY next day, Samsung sends an email to tell me they are shipping my TV.

On Jan. 26th, I see a charge as pending for the Samsung TV. THIS IS ILLEGAL. After I cancelled the order, then they suddenly complete the order and bill me!!! This all after the fact it was cancelled. You think this is just some bizarre coincidence... NO. Also, on the same day I get an email that confirms I cancelled the order. So the cancellation was confirmed by Samsung and they still ship and bill me!!! It can't be any clearer. Of course the TV has been available through other outlets in the US... Samsung just didn't complete the order. I think there is a basis for a class action lawsuit here. I would like to hear from any other Samsung customers who have had the same experience. Why am I paying a premium on a brand when I can get the same size TV with the same specs cheaper by going to an off brand. I'm obviously not paying for quality or customer service? Learned from other forum members that this model has a common issue with sound and no picture - many complaints and no help from Samsung except to go to an authorized Samsung repair shop and pay whatever the charge, however I found that repair is not possible.

I had a relative do some diagnostics and learned that the Y main board was the cause of the problem and needed replacement. I tried to buy a replacement board and discovered that the board is no longer manufactured and every online TV parts sales company lists the board as unavailable. I contacted Samsung to see if they still had the boards and learned that they also do not have it! This set is just 3 years old and no replace part is available to repair it. The Clarity and Depth of the picture is like no other and from all sides, the color stays True unlike many others especially the LED TVs. The Auto size keeps the perspective and fast refresh rate is there for more advanced telecasts. There are so Many Options for sound and picture and lighting. You can customize this TV to suit any room or need. It can even adjust for the type of movie you are watching, a.k.a. fast action, etc. It is Amazing. The speakers are okay, better than most but would recommend a theater sound system if you are into Loud movies. With a variety of connections, you can hook up your computer for streaming or web browsing which by the way, doing this through your computer vs through a smart TV itself will protect your TV from viruses.

You can hook up many devices to this TV and Jump Drives so you can view photos you have taken. The most compliments I get is "wow... this TV looks like real life!" I also have an LED in another room and it does not even compare to the quality the LCD Samsung displays. I am sorry, LCDs are being pushed aside for the LEDs because the LEDs are too vivid and lose their color when view at an angle. The LCD holds consistent no matter where you stand or sit. I looked at many brands, Samsung stood out. We have had this now for 5 years with no problems.

The Only downfall was the price, with a 4 year contract, was about $2700. But compared to all my friends's flat screens, I would buy it again. So True and Crisp like you can reach out and touch what you are watching. I am constantly adjusting my LED TV, so not happy with it. Go LCD if you still can. I can only assume that the wall mount must be defective as I have learned that the very same thing happened to about 7 other people (that I have found, so far), one person having the same experience just last month. Same wall mount, same failure. It is happening over time (about 2-5 years). That should send a red flag to Samsung that something is wrong. I am wondering if that is why Samsung discontinued the model. I think it is a shame that people are paying all of this money for these televisions only to have them fall off the wall after a few years. I am so disappointed in Samsung. I have their flat screen TVs in every bedroom in my house, but this was the only one that was hung with the ultra slim wall mount and this was the only one that fell off of the wall.

I have a 55" Samsung flat screen HDTV that I ordered a while back, used, on eBay. It has worked flawlessly since then and considering that shipping to my doorstep was free and included, I got a good deal at the time. While it doesn't have all the newest features of the latest TVs, it works fine for my needs and I have not felt any need to upgrade thus far.

This is a Samsung PN50C550. The cooling of the TV is quite under-dimensioned for the amount of energy it consumes. The TV gets hot on the left top and it may start to smell burned when dust inside is getting too hot. Various features are either senseless -- e.g. having to install some bad quality software on your windows computer to enable the TV to play movies stored on the computer (instead of just being able to read a windows network) -- or playing movies from a memory key -- the last never quite worked.

I also don't understand the setting "mode" which can be set to movie, standard and dynamic and there are a variety of other settings which should be automatic in today's age. Sometimes the TV talks to the connected "movie theater system" or the other way around -- e.g. switching on the radio will switch on the TV and then switching off the TV will switch off the radio. The resolution & size of the TV is too good for cable TV in the USA with its very high digital compression (we are only watching DVDs or over the air TV). One can watch Pictures on a memory stick -- but the built in computer is VERY slow -- it takes patience -- better connect a real computer.

I bought this Samsung smart TV model 5200AF from Costco because they offered it at a very good price. This TV had all the features I wanted. I got the 48" size because I wanted the largest size I could get to fit on the wall between two windows. It fit perfectly and with a full motion mount it works great in my living room. This LED gives me good viewing even at some pretty extreme angles. I bought it mainly because all the reviews indicated Samsung was about the best and I am not disappointed. I have had it for about 3 months and have no issues at all. It has just two HDMI ports but I do not need any more than that as I only have a Blu Ray attached to it and no commercial TV.

I am Impressed with the sound also and don't need a sound system for it. For my needs right now it works fine. I plan on moving in the future and if I have the space will move up in screen size at a later date but I will be shopping for another Samsung. I know there are better quality models out there but for the money this one costs it is certainly a 5 star TV.

The color resolution has maintained its vibrant dexterity and is simply satisfying to enjoy. The dimensions and High Definition quality have been gratifying as well. I would absolutely recommend this Samsung product as a consumer who has had a fantastic experience.

I love the Smart TV Feature. Streaming is an affordable way of being entertained. Every Samsung TV we've had, has HORRIBLE sound. Many people agree with me on this fact. The 1st large screen was a Samsung, we purchased the Best Buy warranty. The TV struggled & died after 6 months. BB delivered a 2nd TV, 1 day later it died! The 3rd TV we left with our home, when we sold our house. I'm unaware that people have read the review of the WORST washer machine I ever had. The machine was bad from day 1. BB delivered another 1, that machine leaked, we had it "fixed" 1/2 dozen times. The Leak was never repaired, it caused black mold in our Residence. Our home had to be re-mediated and we had new flooring installed. Costly process and lesson. I ended up with an LG Washer, so far, so good.
