I purchased a Samsung TV, model UN55KU6290FXZA. The TV was a gift and was NOT set up in our house until after Best Buy's 15 day Return Policy had passed. I set up the TV on September 17, 2016. On September 25th, after only watching the TV for a total of 10 hours, we lost the picture. Still had audio. Monday, September 26th, I called Samsung, reported the problem, they set up a ticket - ** and about a half hour after I hung up the local authorized Samsung Service Center called to set up an appointment to repair the TV.
Repair Tech came out Thursday, September 29th. Serhiy replaced the TV screen, picture was back and he left the TV on, as I wanted to calibrate the TV settings after he left. I realized I did not the time to make the changes immediately, so turned off the TV and planned to work on it later. I tried the TV 2 hours later - no picture. I called Samsung and asked that the ticket be re-opened. Also, repairman had left his card and I tried to reach him. Calls went to voicemail and left a message. Called Samsung back and they suggested I call the Service Repair Center back at a different phone number. I tried and got voicemail again. Called Samsung a third time and demanded they call in Repair ticket. After 5 o'clock, so they said they could not call.
I called Repair Center the next morning and left another voicemail. Contacted Samsung and asked them to call technicians. Repair was finally scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th. Same Technician showed up and this time, he replaced the TV's power supply. Result - no picture. Defective power supply. He then replaced the screen again. No picture. He had a second power supply available, tried that and still no picture, only sound. Over the 2 visits, the Tech had essentially re-built a second and a third TV. None of which worked.
Between 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, October 5th and today, October 11th @ 12:25 pm, I have placed 18 calls to Samsung and have been told I would receive a callback from the Escalation Center, who is the only group that can handle this matter. I do not want the TV repaired. I have been told I would receive a call within the next 24 to 48 hours. Never happened. I have been told the department is very busy because of Samsung's phone issue. I don't care. A new Escalation ticket was created - **. Never received a callback within the 2 hours guaranteed on 3 different occasions. I have spoken with 9 different supervisors, who can't help me. Two of them guaranteed they personally would call me back the next day at 9:00 am. Never received a call.
I currently have another Escalated Ticket written - ** with a guaranteed callback. Time runs out in 30 minutes. This Customer Service is unacceptable. I have received 2 surveys from Samsung asking how my Customer Service experience has been and if my problem has been resolved. I have not responded positively.

After 2 years of research and saving my nickels and dimes I purchased this $2000 boat anchor of a TV from Sears in Fairview Heights IL in early 2014. I really wanted a Panasonic but they announced they were leaving the market and all of their remaining stock was quickly bought up before I could make a move. So I went with the "next best" thing. And it was awesome for a short while.
But 2 1/2 years later (and conveniently 1 1/2 years past the warranty) the power supply pops out on me in dramatic fashion after acting strange now and again. After contacting Samsung customer service to no avail the recommended Samsung certified repairman (who charged me $412.00 parts and labor) told me next time it begins to act funny to pull the power supply and resolder the PCB connections on the capacitors, otherwise the transistors will eventually fry and fail catastrophically again. One would think that Samsung could at least re-engineer a replacement power supply that is worthy of the costs involved. Couple all of the woeful tales on this board with the Galaxy 7 debacle plus the exploding washing machines and it's OVER for SAMSUNG. Based on my experience I will never buy from them again.

Faulty tvs and horrible service. Never had a tv work only 27 months. I bought my tv in May 2014 from Best Buy. About 2 months ago it would delay turning on after pushing power button. 2 weeks later it wouldn't turn on at all. I called Best Buy with no result. I called Samsung multiple times, speaking to different reps and supervisors. End result they said I can pay for repairs from certified repair company that will give 30 day warranty on their work. Never Buy Samsung is what learned, horrible service. Samsung rep admitted she's had multiple complaints about the same issue.

Extremely disgusted and infuriated with Samsung Customer service. I purchased a new Samsung 55" Smart Curve HDTV for my parents. Upon setting up the item at home we noticed the needed screws to attach the stand were missing. I immediately called Samsung and was given a number to call for replacements, but had to wait for next day, because they're closed on Sundays. I called on Monday and it was a third party that wanted to charge me. I called Samsung again and advised of the transaction and that I was not going to pay for an item that is suppose to be included in the original packaging.
It is now 11 days and 7 calls later and I am still without the screws, tv connected or a full solution. I am currently on a, so far 32 minute call to customer service, being connected to an Executive Customer Relations Rep, because a regular customer service supervisor cannot solve my simple issue. I can't even imagine what the individuals of the blowing up Samsung 7 cells have gone thru. I have purchased Vizio televisions and any issue was resolved immediately. Take note Samsung.

I have had my Samsung Plasma TV for a few years now, maybe 4 or 5. However, over the last 6 months or more both the TV and the entertainment unit started doing some weird things. First of all the TV and the entertainment unit would turn itself on automatically, either while I was, or even while I was not using it. Sometimes in the middle of the night I would hear the TV turn itself on, or the TV unit would turn on and the radio would be on. It would also turn itself off when I was watching it. The entertainment unit would also start playing the radio even when it was turned off (there would be no visible power to the unit and the radio would start playing through the speakers). This occurrence would happen either regularly, or sparingly, but it continued for a good while until this morning the TV blew up with a bang and smoke poured out the top vents.
I am disappointed and because it is out of warranty I suppose I will have to go and buy another one. I won't be getting another Samsung as I have always been very disappointed with the TV quality - it has always been very pixelated/blurry, and for the money I paid for it in this day and age, I expected a much better picture quality (I had tried almost everything to improve the picture quality) - the picture quality was always perfect when watching movies of great quality, but the general TV quality was always very poor. Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience.

I purchased this Samsung 55" Curved TV 4 months ago, it has been mounted on the wall since installation. Last week while watch TV there was a loud noise and then the inside screen cracked. I googled this problem and seen I was not alone. I contacted Samsung and got the same story as everyone else, so called PHYSICAL DAMAGE. It's very sad we pay so much for a TV we think is a great product but they are no good at all. What a waste of money. TV should last for years not a few months and in some cases on hours. Samsung has an inferior product, just like their Note 7 phones right now, but they had to recall them as they are catching on fire. We only get cracks so guess we mean nothing to them. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product again. I have to buy another TV but it will be another brand and fingers crossed I will have better luck.

Samsung 65", UHD CURVED, SMART, UPP. I bought for Christmas the above TV, called a SMART TV. The TV is actually anything but smart. I bought it because certain TV programs are only available over the internet, like FX2Go. What a surprise when I found out that my new TV has ancient programs uploaded, for example an old version of Flash Player that doesn't allow new streaming TV programs to be watched. The TV gives the "smart" advice to download the newer version of Adobe Flash Player in order to watch the programs. It turns out: You can't! Your new TV is not prepared to upload a newer version of this important program and you will not be able to watch streaming TV programs, which is nowadays a big part of everybody's TV programming.
A telephone call to Samsung Technical Support got me this "amazing" answer: "You bought a TV, not a computer. The TV is not set up to download newer versions of certain programs!" And then I was disconnected! With other words, I bought a TV with programs that were already outdated and useless at the time of purchase. And Samsung clearly doesn't care. This is a warning to everybody who considers buying a Samsung Smart TV.

I purchased this TV at the end of 2013, and this was Samsung's 2013 model. I did much research and it had excellent performance reviews from CNET and other reviewers. The TV started failing after about 24 months, sound no picture, Power off, then on would restore the picture until about the 29th month. When the problem first started I thought it might be due to the interconnected Samsung Blue Ray and Surround Sound system that came with the TV. When it failed completely, I began checking reviews and troubleshooting blogs to discover these models are having mass failures, all the same problem.
As was cited in the blogs, Samsung has no parts available to fix this TV. I contacted the store I purchased it from, Samsung in the Philippines and even Samsung in Korea. They all said either they had no parts to fix this problem or in regards to Korea would never respond. This TV cost $4,000 and after 29 months, in pristine condition (other than it doesn't work), it sits in my storage area. Samsung does not care about service in the least. It's not a matter of cost. I've not argued a warranty issue. Samsung's policy is simply tough luck, "we got your money and we don't care."
I will never buy a Samsung product again. I have since bought a 55 inch TCL for about $500. It comes with a 2-year warranty as standard. I can't tell the difference in picture or sound quality. I am not here to sell TCL product, but when I questioned the service people at my local retailer, they said Samsung TVs are always back with warranty issues. They hardly see a TCL back. And if they do see one returned it is due to damage in shipping, not defect in product. $4,000 U.S. is a lot of money and when you consider that within 29 months of a new product introduction, one that is being reported with severe defects, Samsung has decided to abandon its customer service, why would you buy anything from them again. Particularly a new product without years of service history to evaluate.

Takeaways: Based on personal experience and many similar (aka - identical) complaints found online, regarding failed Samsung TVs clearly 1.) Samsung is offering an inferior product made with known uncorrected defects suggesting generally that products from this manufacturer should be avoided, 2.) the consumer services division of Samsung not only provides absolutely the poorest service experience I have ever had but appears to purposely avoid addressing what are known product defects.
Background: My large screen plasma TV (Model no: PN59D7000FFXZA) worked fine except it started cycling automatically on and off every 2-3 minutes. Everything else worked fine but not if you can stand having the TV shut off/on every two minutes. I expected a high end set ($2,500) would last more than four and a half years.
Ok, work with Samsung customer service to get it fixed. First, by e-mail. After needing to provide my product information several times, attempted various fixes. Nothing. Then customer service by phone. Same thing, needing to repeated again several times my product information. Tried all remedies including total factory re-set. Last comment from rep. "let it sit for 24 hours and it should be all right". Not. Next call "just give me a local authorized service, I'll pay for it, just get it fixed".
This whole process took about a month to transpire. During this time I researched on-line and found this is a common problem. There was at one time a class action suit against Samsung on this issue and I have been jerked around for weeks over something that should have been obvious. At this point my suspicion is that customer service was intentionally seeking to deflect from identifying the issue. Next comes the in-home serve call Service Quick (not). The technician, when I said could be the firmware. He said, he thought it could be. Then I said, could be the capacitors - which has been often cited as the root cause of the problem and that Samsung knew was a product defect. He said, he thought it could be. Then I said yes, leading him on - it could be the logic board. Yes, he said, he thought it could be. Obviously, he didn't have a clue. But he said he would order the parts and fix it.
Long story short, parts delivery delayed was a repeated excuse (oh there, was also the emergency preventing the service call). This lasted for over three weeks until I called and asked seriously what is the problem and they sheepishly said, "oh, they no longer make the parts for this set". So, I had a totally frustrated two month experience and now an expensive piece of junk due to a totally dysfunctional customer service and inferior product design/manufacturing. I have purchased a new non-Samsung TV. You would be wise to black list Samsung products and clearly do not expect any professionalism from their customer service division.

I bought a 60" Samsung smart tv, brand new back in May 2013. I spent $1600 of hard earned money, to treat myself. Fast forward a little over 3 years is when the problem started. When adjusting the volume, the tv would turn off. If that was where the problem stayed, I wouldn't be writing this. Well here we are roughly three months later, and the tv is virtually useless. It's contactless off and on. So I called Samsung, I was aware it was out of warranty, but I was just looking for advice. Because I would rather fix the tv, than have to buy a whole new one. They had nothing for me. So I decided to try online. And that's where it get discouraging. Thousands of people are starting. To have this same issue. With no fix. People have tried motherboards, and this and that, just to get the same problem. I would highly suggest never to buy Samsung. I have had three Samsung tvs, and this one is the worst. Called Samsung and they remotely accessed tv. They tried telling me it was cable company issue but I explained the LG works fine on same cable line. 45 minutes later it worked but told me to contact cable company. The cable company came and I am the closest access point to main trunk with 40 feet of year old cable from pole to splitter to tv and have a 5-1002 MHz digital splitter with 1db loss at output. Tech stated it is the ideal connection. He stated I am not the first person that has called because Samsung blamed them.
8/2016: Today lost cable connection and won't load Netflix. Tested wifi and Netflix test stated internet connection good and receiving 19 gb to Samsung. Brought out LG portable tv works on cable and Netflix. Called Samsung. They try to blame cable provider and Internet. I explain same problem as earlier and cable company stated line to tv is the strongest signal possible and a reliable tv works on the line. 100 minutes later, wifi reprogrammed on Samsung and Netflix back. Tv no signal. They stated it was a cable provider issue even though they acknowledged another tv works on the line and the provider of cable was out 10 weeks earlier and confirmed a strong signal.
One year warranty expires in four months and horror stories about Samsung will likely mean after December it will not be given any support. I read reviews and bought this tv not sure why good reviews are out there. No more Samsung anything for me... Just hope my three year old Samsung washer dryer doesn't start acting like the tv and glad I'm iPhone. I owned a Samsung Plasma TV for several years before it died. The motherboard was replaced after a couple of years but it lasted for about 7 years. I felt fairly confident about the quality of Samsung TVs so I purchased a 60" SMART TV from Sam's Club. After the first month, the TV started turning off intermittently. I thought that my husband may have inadvertently set the sleep timer without realizing it. After checking all of the settings, I discovered that wasn't the problem. The TV turned off in my presence without having touched the remote or the TV. We tolerated the intermittent shut offs for a few more months. I checked online and learned that this problem is not new. After owning the TV for 8 months, the TV would not stay on for 2 seconds after showing the Smart menu. It cut off repeatedly for days.
My husband contacted Customer Support and the runaround began. He was on the phone for a couple of hours trying to get them to send out a repair person. Four days later, the repair technician had not called. My husband called back with the reference number he had been given and they said that it was not connected to his call or problem. They had our phone number, but it was not his name. Therefore, there was NO record of the call or request. He was finally told they were required to do several checks over the phone and that if he didn't we would have to pay for the repair even though we purchased additional warranty to cover the defective product for 4 years.
I called the customer support with the new reference number and explained my frustration with the product. I assured the representative that I had checked all of the settings, the bios had been updated, and the problem was persistent. Furthermore, how was I going to be able to go through the tests when the TV would stay on? She said that a repair technician would contact me within two days. The very next day, I received a message from a customer service representative with a different reference number stating that I need to complete tests over the phone, one of which was to turn the TV on without the remote. At this point, we had not been able to watch our TV for 5 days.
When I got home, I turned the TV on by pressing the button on the TV and it turned on and stayed on! I called customer service and went through the tests as requested. The checks were ridiculous: 1) Is it plugged into a 120V outlet? - Yes, 2) Do you have other items connected to the power strip? - Yes. If so, unplug them all. 3) Try a different outlet. - Why? It works. 4) Take the batteries out of the remote and replace them. - Really? 5) Turn the TV on from the power button on the TV. 6) Push this series of buttons on the remote to reset the TV. 7) If the reset doesn't work, the next time you call, you won't have to go through the checks, we'll send a repair person out.
The number of hoops customer service expected me to jump through is outrageous, inconsiderate, and disrespectful of my time and intellect. The TV is working today but tomorrow may be a different scenario. I'm returning the TV to Sam's Club today. Sounds like a defective product to me. Based upon what I've read about other SMART TVs they each have their own set of problems. I'm not sure what I'm going to purchase this time around, but it won't be a Samsung product. Maybe SMART TVs are not ready for Prime Time!

2016 55" 4K model 7000 - Picture gorgeous, sound is terrible. For the first 15 minutes after turning on the t.v. the sound cuts in and out quickly like for a second or two. After 15 minutes it works good. It still makes me mad to spend $1,499 for a plasma 4K with a sound problem. I'm within my 12 months but at the point where I pay the service guy and they pay the parts cost. Damn big of them huh? This is my 2nd Samsung and it seems they cancel a lot of icons and even their own icons. Why is beyond me.

I bought my 55" Samsung TV in October 2013 for like $1700. As soon as my TV was out of warranty, I noticed that the TV would just turn off by itself and turned on again after few seconds, and stayed on probably until I turned the TV off myself. This problem gradually worsens as time went on until recently that I can't even what anything on TV for 2 seconds before it turned itself off and on.
If I have the option to verbally rate this Samsung junks they called Smart TV, I would rate even rate below a "0". I have researched over the internet and realized that Samsung intentionally put cheap and low power capacitors on their TV just to last for about a year when there will be no warranty to repair it for you. I strongly recommend abstaining from Samsung products, especially their Smart TV, even if it is given to you as a gift. Make sure you get rid of the junk immediately. I have had Vizio Smart TV for about 5 years now and I never had any problem with it. Again be warned. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG SMART TVs.

2007 purchased a Samsung LN-T4664F LCD tv for $2300.00. Had to return it within 2 months because of it not working. Right after going out of warranty, I started to have trouble with it turning on. After researching this problem I found that many many people were having the same problem and Samsung would not repair the TV. After a class action lawsuit, Samsung agreed to repair the TV one time and the repair were undersized capacitors. Fast forwarding to 2015 I again started to have the same problem and found that so many people were having the same problem that YouTube had videos of how to repair the unit by replacing the same capacitors and eBay even sold capacitor kits.
I purchased the capacitors and when I opened the tv I found that all of the capacitors that were replaced were all undersized and the tv repairman that Samsung sent over the first time was one who was certified! So I had to replace the capacitors again with undersized capacitors because Samsung did not have a schematic for this tv and had no choice. Now 2016 my TV does not turn on again. So even though Samsung gets stunning reviews for their new Smart TV's, Buyer beware. They will not last and they are not worth the price for the amount of time they will work before breaking!!!

We purchased a 60" Samsung Plasma LCD TV in November of 2012. Fast forward to August of 2016 and the TV screen is blank. We get sound through our Surround Speakers, but no picture. After calling Technical support and having 'G' run me through some very elementary diagnostics, she suggest I call a repair company. I google searched this issue and found that hundreds of thousands of consumers such as myself have encountered the exact same issue. In fact, there was a class action lawsuit filed and settled in 2014.
After stating this, they sent me to their relations department to see if a repair company could be sent out and comped by Samsung. The relations gentleman, "E" stated that Samsung could do nothing. I asked for a supervisor and was told that all supervisors were running callbacks and he didn't know what my hold time would be. An hour and a half into this conversation and I let him know I'd wait for someone because I wasn't hanging up without a resolution, even if that was a definite no which would just end up with some serious complaints from me with Consumer Affairs and the BBB. No resolution, thousands spent on a TV that worked for just over 3 years, and hours with incompetent and helpless representatives - we will NEVER do business with Samsung again. Heed my warning and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Samsung 50" Plasma TV Model - HPS5053X/XXA. Serial # B1943BNL10994T. I recently called Samsung regarding my problem with my TV not working & the issue with the power switch cycling. I was told it would cost upwards of $800.00. I mentioned the recall they had in the past, asked if my model was included & if so why hadn't I been informed. The representative denied that there was ever a class action lawsuit. I said "Google it, it's right there! There's no denying it!" And yet she continued to do so & denied that there was ever a problem with their product. I got no help from them but told I could keep my service call & pay lots of $$ or seek help elsewhere.
Anyway, I purchased from Best Buy on 2/2007 but it was actually manufactured in 2006. I paid for the extended warranty & of course problem started about a month after the warranty expired but still continued to work, although it was annoying. Each time you turned it off the longer it took to come back on. At first it was a few minutes, then hours, days until finally nothing... just the cycling of the clicking. The issue is unfortunately seems to be the exact same issue as all the TV's from the prior recall & lawsuit. Along with some of the other products that were manufactured at that time. It's the continuous cycling of the on/off switch. It just keeps clicking & isn't able to turn on anymore.
I went through all the troubleshooting. For instance, unplugging from wall, bought new power surge cord & everything else Samsung tells you to do. When in all actually it's a faulty design they've known about since 2008. They probably knew of it beforehand but that's when the Class Action Lawsuit was formed. The suit included many models from LCD, Plasmas, & DLP TV's. They paid out on the lawsuit on in 2012. Of course, my model wasn't included. I'm disgusted that they know of the problem those years & continue to deny it or resolve it. I spent 3k on that tv at the time. If you want to keep your customers be honest, use good parts in products & stand by it, even if the warranties expired. If it's faulty, it's your negligence.
I will not be a return customer. I have bought many Samsung products over the years but this experience has put a bad taste in my mouth. I will continue to inform anyone I can about purchasing any products from this company. If you have the same model as mine or have a TV with the same problem & are not on the class action recall list, I think we should start one. Not sure if it's too late. But since this was a known problem, I feel they should have warned everyone who bought models that could have had issues. So we could have them checked out before the parts were so hard to get & expensive to fix.
On a side note - I noticed a lot of complaints from people about purchases from Walmart. Please remember that when you purchase anything from Walmart & those types of discount stores is that they all make deals with the large manufacturers to make a bargain basement versions of they're products. They're using cheap materials/parts depending on what your buying. If you see a 50" Samsung at Walmart for 600.00 when they normally sell for 1200-1400.00 you should know better. Do your research before you buy. Remember, you get what you pay for & Buyer beware!

Purchased a 50" Samsung TV from samsung.com. TV is delivered with broken screen & box. I strongly believe that they know in advance that TV is broken, but still they delivered it, which seems to be truly unprofessional. Reason being, it is delivered to destination on 07/18, but they dispatched on 07/27 to home after multiple follow up's and they smartly kept TV in reverse position, so that we can not view it immediately.
Bad part is their support team and return policy. They show no sign of understanding my issue rather just want to go by their defined protocol. They are adamant that I only need to own the responsibility of ensuring that it is returned to them. Since they delivered with box broken, even FedEx is not accepting the return. It is like they keep some trash in my home and now I need to take care of disposing off. My Suggestion, to not purchase TV at Samsung.com, but look of some other avenues, where they treat you as a customer and have transparency in the whole transaction. Else keep fingers crossed, as you might be in my shoes if you have to return.

I am writing this review because I have been reading MANY reviews (from 2007 to 2016) on ConsumerAffairs about LCD flatscreen TVs with the brands (Insignia, LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, Vizio) and customer service being scorned... and these are just the ones I looked up. It appears to me that EVERY LCD TV brand is having the same problems, and size or cost doesn't seem to matter. The TVs reviewed don't seem to be lasting any longer than 2 to 2.5 years. NOW, MY Samsung 32" LCD TV just got green and red laser lines and finally the dreaded white screen with sound. BUT, I have had my TV for SEVEN years. That is much longer than the negative reviews I am reading. I am wondering how many positives there are, and longer lasting TVs, and if anyone has had their TV longer than 10 years.
I am going to buy a TCON on EBAY for $45 to see if this fixes my Samsung 32. I am seriously concerned if I am throwing my money away, but after all the reviews I have read, it may be better than buying another TV for $200 only to have it go bad in 6 months to 2 years. So, it seems worth the gamble to me. I am not happy my Samsung 32 only lasted 7 years, but it is a whole lot longer than the reviews I have been reading. I thought that newer TVs would be different (better), but they don't seem to be. SO, I don't think it matters which Brand you buy, or how much you pay, or what size you buy... Every brand is having the same described problems, and they don't seem to have figured it out.

This isn't a review as much as it is a complaint. I got my 60" 4k UHD TV Saturday. I took my old flat screen down and removed the bracket from the back. I took one of the screws that attached the bracket and tested it by putting it in the hole on the back of the Samsung. It was too small. It slid right in. No problem... Went to Home Depot and got the screws I needed. I got home and started to install the existing bracket to the new tv. The screw I placed in one of the holes would not come out. It was just small enough that it slid into the hole but unless it was taken out EXACTLY on center the threads caught.
Turning the tv upside down didn't cause it to fall out. After 2 1/2 hours of aggravation I finally super glued a Phillips screw driver to it and let it set up for an hour and then it came out with some effort. Do you know what would have avoided this whole thing? IF SAMSUNG HAD PROVIDED 10 CENTS WORTH OF SCREWS WITH THE UNIT. But no... they are too cheap. JERKS. The TV works great... so far.

It was so bad that I filed a BBB complaint. I then noticed you can read many of the previous complaints on the BBB site.
I have been doing a lot of on-line research on Samsung and it has been an eye opening experience. I quickly noticed a very common pattern: SAMSUNG DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT. Samsung is very inconsistent in handling complaints. It is a big mistake to buy Samsung.
Simply do this, search these phrases "Samsung complaints", "Samsung tv complaints", "Samsung class action lawsuits", and "Samsung customer service" on CNET forums, Google, and Facebook. Read through the BBB complaints. Better yet, look at the thousands of complaints on their own Facebook pages - Samsung USA, Samsung TV USA, Samsung appliances USA, etc. I will be shocked if you don't come to the same conclusion. They will only stand by their products when forced into it by class action lawsuits.

After hours on assuming directions from Tech Support, Customer Service intervened. Customer Service offered a "repair" service to be scheduled in two weeks. If the television was deemed not repairable, paperwork would be submitted for a new television which would take another two weeks. Why would a new television need repair rather than replacement? Their answer was "yes". So Samsung is now telling me that they are not responsible for the "damaged parts" that they put on their tv, which in my view, is deceiving of their "wonderful quality", therefore, stealing the customer's money so that in a few years, we have to buy a brand new tv or pay $180+ for Samsung's bad job at making these televisions. This has been evident in the fact that Full HD Samsung flat screen TVs can have a 1080p display resolution, which is highly impressive. However, the only knock on Samsung TVs (especially in the context of Filipino consumers) is the price, because a full HD Samsung TV (that can go up to 1080p display resolution) with at least 50 inches in size costs from Php. 69,900 (US$ 1,505.18) to Php. 460,500.00 (US$ 9,916.13). It seems in an effort to drive a disposable economy, Samsung has been knowingly using subpar capacitors in their TVs, causing them to turn on and off at random. Don't believe me? Google "why is my Samsung TV turning on by itself". Here I thought I was the only one. Tonight mine started turning on and off every 5 seconds. It's 2.5 years old. Sure it's not top of the line anymore, but considering I still have the 12-inch TV/VCR unit of my teens, I thought I would get more out of this one. Alas, it will be a sad and quiet night.

I purchased a 40" Samsung Smart TV online a little over one year ago. TV was nice looking, had beautiful color, easy to follow menus, great internet access. I paid $600 for this TV thinking I had an investment. I recently lost the ability to access the internet through my television. The Samsung online chat tech support was awful. They kept telling me to try unplugging the TV then plugging it back in, or to try contacting my wireless provider. There was a two week waiting list to have one of their certified technicians come to my home.
I decided to call a local tv repair service. He knew the problem right away - the wifi adapter, a tiny piece of cheap plastic the size of a matchbook was no longer working. He replaced it in 10 mins. and said this was a typical problem with Samsung TVs and not just this model. It cost me $185 for him to come to my home and repair it. The tv worked great and I was back on the internet. 3 days later, the tv started turning on and off by itself, over and over again, incessantly, no picture, nothing. I called the local tv repairman back. He diagnosed the problem over the phone and said "again, this is a common problem with Samsung tvs. Your motherboard needs to be replaced." He came out, replaced the motherboard in 20 mins. at a cost of $200 and now the tv is working like the day I bought it.
This tv isn't even 2 years old. So a $600 television ended up costing me nearly $1000.00. I thought Samsung was a great product name. I'll never buy another Samsung product. Don't buy this tv unless you only expect a year or so of enjoyment then are willing to pay another $400 dollars to get it working properly again because of cheaply made internal electronic components. I'm not a spiteful person and rarely give bad reviews on anything but I found this experience unacceptable for an international company with such a vast product line. I post this review to suggest you try Sony or another brand because my experience is not isolated and is common.

In 2013 I purchased a Samsung TV, model #UN60ES8000F. This was an expensive TV but had all the bells and whistles (3D, SmartTV, camera, etc), and was considered their top of the line TV at the time. I paid a little over $3000.00 for the TV and the salesperson said that Samsung TVs had issues with previous models, but that Samsung claimed they had "fixed" those with this model TV. He recommended I look at another brand but I opted for the Samsung instead. Well now I am kicking myself for not listening to him. The TV started with a small black blotch towards the bottom half of the TV.
Over the past month, the picture became visibly darker and eventually the top half of the TV was barely visible. I contacted Samsung and paid $90 for a service call only to find out that the LED panel was defective. To replace the LED panel it would cost me $1398.00. Samsung stated they could do nothing to help me out even though I have only had the TV a little over 3 years. So to have a TV last me 4 years or more, I would have to have paid over $4300.00. I have a Sharp LED TV that I purchased in 2011 and it still runs perfectly.
I am disgusted that Samsung will not stand by their products. I recently purchased a 4k TV and refrigerator from Samsung. Those will be my last Samsung product purchases!!! I will have to extend the warranties on both to ensure I get the use out of them for the money I paid for them. I no longer will recommend Samsung products to my friends or family. The only reliable purchase from Samsung has been my Galaxy phone. DO NOT PURCHASE SAMSUNG PRODUCTS - BE WARNED!!!

I have a 65" Samsung Smart Hub TV. I purchased it in March, 2013. It's just outside of warranty. The TV will no longer turn on, or will only turn on with great effort. I have to hold the on button for the remote continuously to get a flashing red light, but even after that, nothing happens. If I turn it off and turn it on after that, I might get sound, but I am no longer getting a picture. This TV isn't worth it, and judging by other reviews, I think this is a systematic problem that Samsung seems utterly unwilling to fix. I won't buy any other of their products of any type. My humble suggestion for them: Fix this problem for consumers, for free, quickly, and without any questions asked, and do so regardless of whether the TV is still under warranty. If not, you will certainly face the wrath of the market and will be out of business.

Unbelievable! Most pathetic excuse for a company that I have ever experienced. I have probably been on the phone 15-20 times for probably 15 hours total with these idiots! Yes, idiots because that is perhaps the nicest word I can use to describe these idiots. Every single call led to hours with them being unable to provide the service because, they either left off the home visit criteria, coded it for commercial not residential, did not put the fact that they were granting me a 1 time warranty visit!!! Really I began this process on April 24, 2016 and as of 6/3/16 they are now saying they will grant me a one time warranty coverage as according to them my warranty expired on 5/31/16. We did not purchase it till after 6/2015 it had a 1 year warranty so how is it not covered?
According to heather the supervisor she stated that the coverage ran out on its manufactures date. Really?! Unless I can provide her with a copy of the receipt which I do have in my possession yet, until now there was no issue with me providing a receipt. Apparently, they will extend my warranty to the actual one year date of purchase!!! As if, they are doing me a favor! Do yourself a favor and do not purchase their products ever. They do not deserve the 1 star rating!!!

I have seen folks describing how Samsung TV's are designed to fail and this is correct. Mine failed after exactly 3 years and 2 months (1 year factory warranty and 2 years extended). It would seem logical to just make a good high-quality product that DOESN'T FAIL to increase customer loyalty. Samsung used to be the best on the market some claimed. This could not be farther from the truth. Every Samsung product I have ever had has failed, it's that simple. Pls call me at ** if a second class action lawsuit comes around thanks!
We spent $2000 for a Samsung UN55ES6500FXZA 55" Smart TV from Sears. We picked it up in March 2013. Now I would like to say it has been trouble-free until now but that would be a smoke screen. It has frequently turned off by itself, shown green colors or colored lines and constantly had trouble connecting to the internet.
I mentioned above that every Samsung product I have had has failed. Although I have not owned numerous products--I have owned four. My first was a P2 MP3 player. Its headphone jack failed, and I actually had that repaired, and then it finally just quit coming on a year later. And let me mention: the tech that repaired my MP3 said "there's hardly any solder on here" when he was removing the bad headphone jack!! My second product was a QWERTY cell phone that the buttons all rubbed off (unlike the LG that I had next which was bulletproof). I owned a Galaxy S3 that the screen started flickering after 1 YEAR and a Note 3 that just quit working altogether. Now one of my most prized possessions, a 55" LED TV has the power light flashing and clicking; very similar to problems other folks experienced and are currently experiencing.
I contacted Samsung yesterday about this. They did have my TV on file from when I originally registered it. The rep from India was hard to understand but she said I would have to shoulder all parts and labor for a repair and that my TV was not included in the capacitor issue even though it is showing the same symptoms. Bottom line, a $2000 TV should last more than 3 years! My last TV lasted for ten years and I sold it and it was still working!
VERY disappointed in Samsung, as are many other folks. It would think it is time to quit cutting corners and make a quality product that matches the price charged. I am waiting for the day when Samsung comes out with a new commercial and says "we've listened to you, and we're building a solid product with a better warranty..." That day will eventually come after they alienate more and more customers with their horrendous customer service like I received. Just hope folks don't flock back as they will have ran off quite a few customers by then! In my opinion a ten year warranty parts & labor would not be unreasonable for what they charge.

I bought a 50inch LED Smart TV from Samsung back in February of 2016. One day I turn my TV on and it's fine, picture is great, everything is working. I switch over to my PS4 to play a game. All of a sudden two thin black lines appear on the left-hand side of my TV running from top to bottom across the screen. I contact Samsung and file a repair ticket.
Samsung sends out a service tech who takes pictures of my TV and sends them to Samsung. They call me back and inform me that Samsung has denied my repair. So I call Samsung to see what the problem is. Their product review team determined that my TV suffered physical damage due to an outside impact force. Recall that this happened as I was using my TV and nothing impacted it. After informing them of this, I was told they would submit another repair ticket and send out a different repair company. This second company decided to use the same pictures instead of taking new ones and submitted those to Samsung. The repair company told me it did NOT look like impact damage to them. Nevertheless, Samsung's product support team once again denied my ticket for the same reasons.
At this point I was sent to talk to an escalations manager who informed me there is no way for the customer to contact the product review team. There is no appeals process for the customer. What the team decides is the final say and that's that. So I file a complaint with the BBB and get a call back from their Office of the President giving me once again the same answer. They determined something impacted my TV and caused those lines and they refuse to fix it.
Samsung has some of the most shoddy customer service I have ever experienced and they basically called me a liar and refuse to take responsibility for their products' defects. After researching this issue, other people have had this problem and some have even stated that the lines can come from the TV overheating and damaging the screen. Something that is completely out of the customers' hands but Samsung considers physical damage and won't fix.

Do yourself a favor and NEVER PURCHASE A SUMSUNG TV or HOME AUDIO equipment!!! I've had my TV less than 3 years and I've had the screen replaced 3 times (yeah, seriously) and it needs to be replaced again. Samsung customer service has been completely awful during this entire process. They've fought with me tooth and nail every time just to have my products fixed at my expense. After spending $3,000 on the TV itself I've had to spend hundreds of dollars additional on repairs that they still don't put a warranty on. I've spend countless hours on the phone begging them just to get them to cover the parts. I still had to pay labor every time. All they did was try over and over again to sell me a extended warranty and tell me how lucky I was that they were going to help me with that. Are you kidding me?? I seriously thought they were joking around at first.
When I bought the TV I got a Samsung Soundbar too cause I wanted it to match and I thought they would play nice together. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S7. You'd think everything would work great together. Wrong!! The soundbar still won't connect with my phone with breaking up. I had it replaced right away thinking it was just a bad one. Nope. The new one I got doesn't connect either. Every company is going to have a dud once in a while. That's understandable. This has been multiple products and replacement parts with no resolution. Even after all this, the thing that hurts the worst is that Samsung hasn't owned up to any of it or tried to help in anyway. I literally had to beg each time.
I've been a Samsung champion for years (can you tell by all the Samsung products I own?). I really feel let down with their newer products but more importantly the fact that they truly don't care about their customers. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as you can. As much as I hate to say it, it might be time to start considering an iPhone. Side note - I have a Sony TV that's a similar size and a surround sound system that I've had for 10 years in my room and I've never had one problem. Not one.

Samsung delivered a new tv to me and took back the defective one. It took over a month to get it taken care of, but in the end, they did make good on the warranty and provided me with a new tv. I am leaving the stars rating where it is because it was an absolute nightmare dealing with customer service and I should not have had to go through all of that. If you call customer service, you reach a call center in another country and the people do not speak English very well and have no idea where you are in relation to where they are telling you that you have to "carry" your tv for free warranty repairs. When you get really upset and they transfer you to an "executive", you end up being transferred back to the US and that is the only way you can actually receive customer service. Even with that, they tell you it is 24 to 48 hours before they will call you back. They do not and you have to start all over again.
When you get back to a "real" customer service rep in the US, they help you and then the 24 to 48-hour clock starts all over again. At the end when they decided they would replace the tv, I was told the trucking firm would call me 10 to 14 days to schedule the swap out. It was 15 business days before I got that call. I am just glad this is over and I have a tv to watch again.

My 40" Samsung LED Smart tv has stopped working after less than 6 months of use. It flashes Smart TV across the screen every few seconds, but will not completely come on. Have tried unplugging, restarting everything, changed batteries, etc. Nothing works, cannot even turn it off on the tv set. Called Customer Service and got someone that does not speak English very well. She had me check the power surge strip to make sure it was getting power, turn it on/off, then she wanted me to unplug from the power surge and plug directly into the wall to make sure it was getting power. I told her 1/2 dozen times it was getting power because it is flashing smart tv across the screen and the red light is blinking.
She then tells me it is covered under warranty and someone will come to my house free of charge. Ok, "when?" Then she tells me she has to send my address to the tech. Ok. Then she proceeds to give me an address. I stopped her, "wait, you said they were coming here, why are you giving me an address". She tells me that because it is a 40", they will not come out, I have to take it to them. "Ok, what is the address." She gives me an address in the State of Florida. I live in North Carolina, I am not driving a tv to FL for warranty work. She said that is the ONLY tech they have so I asked for a supervisor and after a long time, I get a supervisor that speaks English a little better and she says the same thing - I have to take it to the state of FL for free repair work. Not acceptable. Either you will replace my tv, refund my money or give me an address within 25 to 30 miles of where I live to take it for repair.
That is absolute deception and should be clearly noted when they advertise that there is NO warranty. Who in their right mind would drive a tv from NC to FL to have it "looked at"? It may be a 40" and not a 70", but to me, it cost a lot of money and I should not have to throw it away after less than 6 months. TVs used to last 15 years. I was very upset as I cannot buy another one and ditch this one. She told me that an "executive" will be calling me back tomorrow between 9 am and 9 pm. I have a Samsung Oven that did not work when delivered. There were no issues having them deliver another one the next week and made good on it.
This type of customer service is not acceptable in any size, shape or form and they should not be allowed to conduct business like this. I had done my research and saw that Samsung got high reviews for quality before I purchased this set and one for my mother. People must have been posting reviews before they had had their tvs for 6 months.

I bought a Samsung Smart 50" LED TV (Model UN50H5303AFXZP) on June 12, 2015. This unit was kept inside its original box until I finished some remodeling in my living room. On January 28, 2016, I decided to install my TV, and when I turned it ON, surprisingly, it showed a big, black spot, almost as big as the screen. Immediately, I proceeded to call for a claim. Initially, I called Sam's Asurion Protection Plan for presenting a claim, but they said that I had to contact Samsung Electronics instead of them, since the first year of warranty is covered by Samsung Electronics as the manufacturer.
The first time I called Samsung Electronics (800-682-3180, for a spanish-speaker customer service representative), their representative told me that Samsung Electronics would contact a service center in Ponce, Puerto Rico (H S Electronics). Then, he gave me a number for my order, and told me that next day, early in the morning, H S Electronics would be called. Nothing happened. On February 11, 2016 (approx. 7:00 pm, PR time), I called again to check for the status of my order. The representative told me that he, himself, was going to call H S Electronics next day, first thing in the morning, to get the reason for ignoring my first claim.
Next day, on February 12, I received an e-mail message in which they gave me a Service Order Number. Among other things, the message said, "H S Electronics, Inc, will visit you on 16/02/2016. Your Service Order Number is **". They never called me, neither came to my house. Again, my claim was not satisfied, so I have to call a third time. On February 22, 2016, I talked to a representative that told me that there was a recent e-mail for me regarding my claim. It was not true, because I was talking to her while looking at my e-mail. She told me that she would call H S Electronics to get an update of my claim. She also told me that a technician would call me to arrange a visit to come and take the TV to their repair center. Nothing happened.
Once more - and this was my fourth and last call - I tried to get any information on my claim. A representative talked to me and said that she, herself, would deal with my claim, and that I would be able to receive news soon. Today, on May 3, 2016, I have not received any call, message or notification regarding my claim. It is really hard to think about how much more time and patience (not talking about money - the TV cost is $589.00), I have to lose in all this process.
All I want is the same model of TV on my living room's wall, working as a Samsung TV should. I know Samsung is a great brand. Their TV's are among the best regarding technology, customer satisfaction and image quality, resolution and clarity. In a sense, I trusted Samsung for its excellence and reputation among other brands in the market. But this situation regarding their warranty, showing problems with customer service and lack of satisfaction, may give potential customers a reason to think twice when considering what TV they are going to buy. Thank you for your attention.

Samsung customer care generated a service request and our case was assigned to authorized service center. They asked to send pictures of the screen, and based on that rolled it out to be a physical damage, asking $4500 as repair charges.

My husband and I purchased this TV in December 2015. The first one as soon as we pulled it out of the box the screen was already ruined so we were able to return it and get another TV, same make and model. It's been almost exactly four months and we do have a 2-year warranty. This TV was not cheap and we thought it best to get a warranty. I had been watching television one day and stepped out of the room and came back in and noticed a huge crack in the screen and three-quarters of the screen was completely white. So I went through the proper channels and the first question out of the customer service person was do I have children? What does that have to do with the problem with my television? And the nerve of this man to try to blame a defect on my autistic son is discriminatory. And they told me it appears that my son was at fault and he must have thrown something at the TV.
So after this text came out and told me that I was SOL. My husband and I both grabbed a small toy owned by my son and threw it at the screen and not a mark was left. So we proved that theory wrong that throwing something at the screen is going to cause a crack. And my husband threw it pretty hard at the TV a lot stronger than a child would. We had nothing to lose as the screen is already broken. But it was very obvious that this was not caused by a small child or anything being thrown at the television. Said it's just their way of getting out of having to pay for a less-than-stellar product. The packaging makes it look all pretty but when it comes down to it they're selling a cheap TV dressed up to look like something else. I didn't know that their techs did remote viewing.
My husband also placed a phone call and they sent the Geek Squad out here. And the technician called and asked why he was coming out. There seems to be a communication breakdown when it comes to the texts that are sent to your home and the customer service people. Before I turned on the TV I made a point of showing him that they were absolutely no scratches on the screen itself. Everything was completely smooth. And I was told by one of the technicians and customer service that this TV comes with a glass protector. The technician at my home told me that was incorrect and wanted to know who told me that. I said, "Your customer service". I said, "If that's wrong they don't know what the hell they're talking about".
So I turned on the TV and again he immediately blamed my son for throwing something at the TV. I know for a fact that no one was in the room at the time that this happened. They were just looking for an excuse as to not cover this under the warranty we had purchased. According to them they do not cover any physical damage done to the TV. But from what I have read online this seems to be an ongoing problem with the curved TV. And my sixteen-year-old had a valid point that when you curved piece of glass you're putting extra pressure and it's only a matter of time before the screen will break. But considering that the damage was on the inside of the screen it should have been covered under my warranty. But the way they are stating the warranty works that the warranty is useless as the paper it is written on and we spent close to $200 on a warranty.
If they're going to guarantee their product then the warranty should cover any damage done to the product whether it's accidental or if it's a defect. Samsung is a multi-billion dollar company and to give their consumers the run-around just shows that they were only out to make money. So right now I have a very expensive paperweight. I will never buy a Samsung product again. Their customer service had no right asking me if I had children for starters especially when they had no idea that I have an autistic son. You talk about being judgemental it's right up there with being discriminatory. That's statement says to me, "Don't bother purchasing one of these expensive TV's if you have children".
The only thing I'm getting back is the money I spent on the warranty which is very shady of them. They won't fix my TV but they give me my money back for my warranty. Something seems very wrong with that. But there is a class action lawsuit that is building against Samsung for selling a product with the cheapest parts money can buy. Purchased a 61" DLP TV from Samsung in 2012 (it's 3 years old). The TV is now displaying white dots randomly all over the screen. The number of dots is growing day by day. Soon the TV will be unusable (it is hard to watch now). I believe that a television of the cost of this one SHOULD LAST LONGER. I called Samsung only to be told in a nice way to "GO AWAY, we won't stand by our product after one year." So do not buy a Samsung anything, especially a TV, ever!

We love Samsung products and so when we decided to replace our old TV with a new big screen model UN48JU640DFXZA. We keep having problems with it shutting off after being on for about 30 minutes or longer. The screen would just turn black and the red light at the bottom of the screen would stay off. We would merely turn the set off and then back on and it would work fine until it happened again... and again. We called tech support twice and did what they asked unplugging and holding buttons for 1 minute, but it kept happening. Today we are returning the set to COSTCO because we are still within our 90 days return period. I liked the picture quality but wish that the speakers were in the front as we are a little hard of hearing and had to turn it up quite a bit to hear the dialogue.

My TV is 10 months old as I write this and has been used for less than half its life. We had it in storage shortly after we bought it while renovations were being complete. In October of 2015 we experienced our first problem with the TV (UN55 H6360AFX). We went through the Samsung warranty protocol and had a technician come out to fix the problem. This took about 2 weeks to resolve. A month later we had another (different) problem and again we went through the warranty routine and technician came out to fix the problem (another two weeks to resolve). Three weeks pass and we had yet another problem which was different from the first three (the TV is dead, won't turn on!!). I am now asking Samsung warranty to have my TV replaced and after talking to someone in a department that deals with customers like me they said NO, will send out a technician to have a look.
The technician comes out and determines that the panel need to be replaced (takes 4 weeks to resolve). Problem solved until yesterday! TV dies again!! I call Samsung and try to contain my emotions after they tell me again that they will NOT replace my TV and that until a technician tells them the TV is not repairable. They will not replace. Samsung has lost me forever and if you are reading this you need to seriously consider your buying choices as I would STRONGLY suggest you stay away from Samsung as well. I truly believe they are waiting until my 12 months are up so they can say, "It's not our problem anymore".

I received a prepaid receipt and returned the product to Samsung. Within a few weeks, I received an email denying my claim for repairs.
Samsung indicated that a capacitor was possibly out but because the television was received with a cracked screen, they would not repair the product. What cracked screen? The screen was not cracked when I returned it but possibly got cracked in transit. I bought a Samsung 55 inch TV in September and didn't unpack it until 2 days ago. The TV has a major screen issue and the TV doesn't work. The Samsung Warranty folks have diagnosed the issue as a 'panel' issue and say that the television is not longer warrantied under their 12 month warranty. The reason they say the TV is not covered under the warranty is that I have had it for over 30 days. I needed to report the damage within the first 30 days of ownership. I've spent countless hours on the phone with people who barely speak English and finally learned this today.
While touting their '12 month warranty' they do not highlight that you must report issues within the first 30 days. I bought this TV for an addition on my house which ended up taking way longer to build than I'd anticipated and just kept the TV in its shipping box until the addition was FINALLY ready for the TV. Had I known that I needed to test the TV within the 1st 30 days, I clearly would have done so. So, be warned: the 12 month warranty is really a 30 day warranty. I have now lost hours of my life on hold and being told that they are 'sorry for my inconvenience' and have finally discovered that I have a $750.00 piece of trash.

We have been lucky with Sony, Panasonic and Samsung televisions. No reason to spend double as much for a "UHD TV". The regular HD TVs are perfectly the same experience unless you are running a home theater at where the TV is larger than 62". Do not forget! The picture quality is only as good as what your provider streams to you. You can have a UHD TV but if let's say Cox only gives you from their server's HD, then that's what you will see no matter how dense the pixel quality of your TV is.

It connects with all of my other Samsung devices and with all my computers, which is handy and looking at Netflix and Amazon is a snap. I returned it to Costco and they told me that they sometimes get bad TVs, but it was likely an anomaly.
When I brought the second Samsung TV home and installed it, it worked great for a few minutes, but as the TV heated up, the picture became very choppy with artifacts similar to if you are watching a movie and it is skipping multiple frames between scenes. The picture would also go completely black at times. I called Samsung support and they told me to return it to Costco. When I returned yet another Samsung TV to Costco, the sales rep quietly told me that they have had a lot of problems with the Samsung TVs and that I should try the Sony instead. True, Clear, Sharp Color is what you will get with the Samsung 46" LCD Model LN46D630 color flat screen TV. The Clarity and Depth of the picture is like no other and from all sides, the color stays True unlike many others especially the LED TVs. The Auto size keeps the perspective and fast refresh rate is there for more advanced telecasts. There are so Many Options for sound and picture and lighting. You can customize this TV to suit any room or need. It can even adjust for the type of movie you are watching, a.k.a. fast action, etc. It is Amazing. The speakers are okay, better than most but would recommend a theater sound system if you are into Loud movies. With a variety of connections, you can hook up your computer for streaming or web browsing which by the way, doing this through your computer vs through a smart TV itself will protect your TV from viruses.
You can hook up many devices to this TV and Jump Drives so you can view photos you have taken. The most compliments I get is "wow... this TV looks like real life!" I also have an LED in another room and it does not even compare to the quality the LCD Samsung displays. I am sorry, LCDs are being pushed aside for the LEDs because the LEDs are too vivid and lose their color when view at an angle. The LCD holds consistent no matter where you stand or sit. I looked at many brands, Samsung stood out. We have had this now for 5 years with no problems.
The Only downfall was the price, with a 4 year contract, was about $2700. But compared to all my friends's flat screens, I would buy it again. So True and Crisp like you can reach out and touch what you are watching. I am constantly adjusting my LED TV, so not happy with it. Go LCD if you still can. If you love movies, you will love this TV. Samsung is a long lasting, dependable brand and stands up to constant use and is superior quality.

Samsung UN55HU6840 55 inch 4K 3D smart tv. Overall not bad but also not great. Slow moving 4K video and photos look amazing but high speed action scenes are subject to blurring. You can thank the idiots who built a 4K tv with a 60hz refresh rate and me the idiot who didn't check before making the purchase. Ok so you get two (2) remotes, one traditional and the other is a small touch pad with a few buttons and a microphone. The tv itself has a built in camera and microphone that allow for voice or motion commands.
Sometimes it works great and other times it can be really annoying. A ton of apps but not iPhone friendly. More features are available if you have a Samsung phone, like screen mirroring. If the refresh rate was at least 120, that would make a huge difference in my overall opinion of this television but since that is not the case, I have to give it a rating of a B-. I can't wait to sell it and purchase a 4K OLED UHD 3D tv with a 240 refresh rate from LG for $800.00 more than what I paid for this tv. Life sucks man.

I purchased a 63" Samsung Plasma TV (PN63C8000) five years ago. I also purchased Samsung's Ultra Slim Wall Mount (WMN1000C). Well, tonight the TV came crashing off of the wall. The cable on the wall mount broke off from the plastic housing on the back of the television. It does not matter that I made this purchase 5 years ago. This should not have happened... not in 5 years... not in ten years. People do not pay that kind of money for their TVs only to have them fall off the wall after 5 years. I paid a lot of money for that television and now it sits on the floor, nonfunctional, with a screen cracked into pieces. It almost hit my grandson.
I can only assume that the wall mount must be defective as I have learned that the very same thing happened to about 7 other people (that I have found, so far), one person having the same experience just last month. Same wall mount, same failure. It is happening over time (about 2-5 years). That should send a red flag to Samsung that something is wrong. I am wondering if that is why Samsung discontinued the model. I think it is a shame that people are paying all of this money for these televisions only to have them fall off the wall after a few years. I am so disappointed in Samsung. I have their flat screen TVs in every bedroom in my house, but this was the only one that was hung with the ultra slim wall mount and this was the only one that fell off of the wall.

This LED gives me good viewing even at some pretty extreme angles. I bought it mainly because all the reviews indicated Samsung was about the best and I am not disappointed. I have had it for about 3 months and have no issues at all. It has just two HDMI ports but I do not need any more than that as I only have a Blu Ray attached to it and no commercial TV.
I am Impressed with the sound also and don't need a sound system for it. For my needs right now it works fine. This is a Samsung PN50C550. The cooling of the TV is quite under-dimensioned for the amount of energy it consumes. The TV gets hot on the left top and it may start to smell burned when dust inside is getting too hot. Various features are either senseless -- e.g. having to install some bad quality software on your windows computer to enable the TV to play movies stored on the computer (instead of just being able to read a windows network) -- or playing movies from a memory key -- the last never quite worked.
I also don't understand the setting "mode" which can be set to movie, standard and dynamic and there are a variety of other settings which should be automatic in today's age. Sometimes the TV talks to the connected "movie theater system" or the other way around -- e.g. switching on the radio will switch on the TV and then switching off the TV will switch off the radio. The resolution & size of the TV is too good for cable TV in the USA with its very high digital compression (we are only watching DVDs or over the air TV). One can watch Pictures on a memory stick -- but the built in computer is VERY slow -- it takes patience -- better connect a real computer.
