I thought it was a good brand, a good picture and a good price. I only watched this TV a little before I went to sleep. One night when I turned it on, there was a loud pop, a bright flash of light and the lights all turned off and there was a smell of burnt plastic. I tried to get it to work, checked the power and nothing. It's only 15 months and 12 days old, barely passed the 12 month warranty. The manual says even if it is passed the 12 months to call 800-968-9853. I did. A woman took my information and said someone would call me back in a few minutes. It's been 48 hours and no call.
What a waste of money. I could have rented a better TV for less money. I very disappointed that RCA has stooped to this level. I read online that many different brands have done the same, used a cheap capacitor probably knowing that these TVs would commit suicide just over the 12 month warranty. That's just cheesy, low and despicable. Lest I say, a rip off.

Just like others, my 5 month old RCA 55" Ultra 4k HD TV from Walmart just stopped working. The power light goes on and off, buts that's it. I live on Maui and after reading the problems others have had getting their TVs repaired, I figured it's just not worth it. Buyer be aware. This is not the reputable RCA of the past. DO NOT BUY.

We purchased a 50” TV 4K for my aunt and uncle in May 2018 from Best Buy. The screen was great and the picture was beautiful. After 3 weeks the screen started turning black although the sound was still there. We had a hard time getting hold of customer service, who doesn’t give any information but it’s like the contact point between you and the company. When we finally got a reply from customer service, someone had to squeeze the time to take the TV back to them to get it fixed as my aunt and uncle are seniors and they don’t drive. The company had fixed the TV twice and the problem is worse and not any better. I recommend to never buy this brand ever.

Purchased an RCA TV and within a month...yes, a month...our TV started flashing colors (no picture, just colors). You can’t start watching a show without losing the picture within 2 minutes. I went online to try and find diy fixes...nothing worked. Contacted RCA (still under manufacturers warranty) and they require you to do so much stuff before they will even consider what action to take. Still waiting. I will NEVER buy RCA again! Biggest waste of money and time!

I got a $400 RCA 58 inch flat screen TV (rh0s581sm) from Superstore. Three months after buying it the screen goes on the bum, it's so messed up that it's basically useless. Going through the warranty claim process is a totally waste of time and mental sanity, as they demand all kind of info, photos, etc and then they stop communication. I spent hours on phone trying to talk with an agent and all they do is they kick you around until you give up. They say there's physical damage and IT IS NOT! It’s just pointless and useless. WARNING - DO NOT BUY RCA. Their products are pure and unadulterated crap and their customer service sucks big time.

It’s so pointless and useless, they just give you a hard time, demand all this ** like pictures videos etc... All information you’ve already provided and they don’t even take the time to call you. They sit behind a computer and email you! WARNING - Do not buy RCA. Their products are garbage and their customer service skills suck.

I purchased this tablet for my youngest daughter for Christmas, she's literally used it for less than a month. It has a gigantic foam case and screen protector. I was only able to purchase it with a gift card I'd received from a class that promotes self-sufficiency for impoverished people. She has used this tablet less than 20 times and was home sick from kindergarten today when she sat it down on the coffee table. She covered up with her blanket and picked it up only to see FOUR HUGE CRACKS running vertically from the bottom towards the top. The screen immediately failed to work in any way, shape, or form. I still have her other tablet (that shattered when her sister tackled her; enough to slice your fingers) and the screen still works on that one.
I went and found the RCA box with proof of purchase and the warranty information to call and try to stem the flood of tears by getting it repaired or replaced. I went through 4 different representatives with varying and indecipherable heavy accents, 2 of which were supposedly supervisors, all who told me that cracked screens are not covered by warranty and that I needed to pay shipping and a screen repair fee to the company so they could fix it. Well honestly, I don't care if the screen's cracked! I care if the screen works! That's not a cracked screen issue, that's a functionality issue. Every other device I have has a cracked screen, and they all work just fine. I happen to be typing this on a cracked phone screen, for heaven's sake!
I called back to ask about their refund or return policy. They don't have one. Literally don't have one. So I asked the guy: "If it's past the 30 day policy Walmart has, then there's nothing I can do to return it?" He said, "Yeah pretty much." I was profane and hung up. I left them an email detailing the fact that I nor any of my friends and family will buy from them ever again and that I would do my civic duty to make sure others were never conned into buying anything RCA ever again. Do yourself a favor, don't bother buying a product from a company that outsources their customer service to a conglomerate whose main function is to provide heavily accented sheep who pretend to care on the other side of the phone.

I am 64 yrs. old. I grew up with RCA and always trusted it... I got a small inheritance a couple years back and the biggest part of it, went to getting myself a big screen tv. I was happy to find an RCA because I always trusted you. I spent $ 650.00 for it and was so pleased and now it doesn't even turn on. Sometimes I can get voices but no picture at all... I am on Social Security and don't have the money or inclination to replace a $650 tv every 2 years... I have been so upset about it all. Today, I go to my son's house and his RCA 50 in. big screen is doing the same thing... His tv just comes on in Spanish. What is wrong with you. Do you not even value your customers anymore? You make poor quality products which you charge a mint for and then set it to break.
Normally I would at least think of it as some fluke but for the same thing to happen to my son's tv too, shows horrible craftsmanship and I will never buy a product of yours again along with telling everyone I know about your SORRY company... If all you want to do is sell low quality TVs and other products, PLEASE GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS!!

The power to the device stopped working. We could reproduce the problem yet after 3 times sending it to RCA for repair they could never fix it. They'd say, "We can't find anything wrong," even though it wouldn't work at all. After months of mailing it and waiting we gave up even though it was under warranty and bought another brand. Do yourself a big favor and don't purchase any RCA products because if you have trouble with them, you're out of luck.

Purchased a 55 inch RCA Roku smart TV from Walmart.com on Aug 2018. Picture started flickering continuously about Dec 1st. Just over 90 Day Wal-Mart return policy. Still under RCA 1 year warranty. No help from RCA getting it repaired or replaced. Never thought a new TV would fail in such short order but it did. I can’t believe Walmart would still partner with a company that doesn’t stand behind its warranty. They spend more time with excuses and demands that you decide it’s not worth it. The only reason I went with RCA is they once were a leader in the TV world. Obviously those days are long gone. Don’t be suckered in by their low prices, it’s not worth it.

If you ask why I don't want to go through the process of warranty, I'll tell you. I am a senior citizen, life is getting a lot shorter and I have no time to deal with scammers. We purchased a 55” TV from Walmart. It didn’t even last 3 months before it began constantly blinking on and off. Contacted the supposed Customer Service department numerously! We were told to take 6 pictures from the back of the tv so they could see what’s wrong. We did this 4 TIMES. 4 Times and almost 2 1/2 months later they said to bring it to their technician —— so we did. Now—3 MONTHS LATER this is so maddening - he says he list our phone number every single time and that they were sending him a new motherboard. Are you kidding me? NEVER EVER BUY AN RCA ANYTHING.

We will never purchase another RCA flatscreen ever again. We purchased a 55” led and a 40” something flat screen led. The 40” out of the blue got some weird blue, red screen. And around the same time the 55” won’t turn on. Occasionally it decides to. But now nothing. Didn’t even get 3 years out of them! The smaller one was a basement tv so it rarely got used. The larger one always had these weird hard, crumb-like dust nodules on the back side which I googled to find that only RCA TVs do this and it's not a good thing.
I tried to contact RCA and was told a different company handles the televisions. Then I tried to contact that company and you can only send an email. No phone number!! I emailed and never heard back. RCA is aware of their junk they keep selling with no true warranty and no way to fix the solution. This company should no longer be in the television business and a class action should be brought against them. They are aware of the problem and they still choose to sell the same bad TVs.

We bought an RCA 953 Microwave, White through Amazon.ca through seller bigHUGE on May 15, 2018. It failed a few days after we received it. We attempted to get it serviced on the 12 month warranty that came with the purchase (stated in the manual) by calling the number provided: 1-800-968-9853. We received instructions from the call centre (callcenter@curtisint.com) on August 13, 2018 8:43 AM requesting that detailed information and pictures be mailed to customerservice@curtisint.com). This was completed and sent by e-mail on August 31 at 1:58 PM. We received no reply. We contacted RCA again telling the call centre that we had received no reply.
Eventually we were told that a response had been sent (which certainly was not received) and when we asked what the contents were we were informed that it said that because bigHUGE was the seller the warranty did not apply, and we should contact bigHUGE. They promised that the information would be re-sent to us. We received nothing. On contacting bigHUGE by telephone, they said they were a distributor only and we should contact RCA.
Again we contacted RCA (there is only one number for RCA: 1-800-968-9853) and were again promised that we would receive a response, that they would indicate that it was urgent but we received none. We attempted to get from the call centre a direct number for RCA or any other means of contacting RCA but they claimed they were just a call centre and could only pass on the request. This frustrating run-around appears to be designed to help RCA Canada avoid its contractual obligations as specified in the warranty that came with the product.

RCA IS THE BEST! I have a 1900 RCA floor model television that I have owned for 24 yrs. I have NEVER had to replace anything on this TV. It is now sitting in my living room connected to DirecTV. My friends and family are amazed of how good this tv plays. They keep telling me that it is old fashioned and I should get rid of it and get an updated flat screen. I refuse. If you could see what great picture that it still projects, you would never buy any other brand but RCA. I will not get rid of it as long as it is working. It will always be my living room TV. Before you know it, it may be back in style. Thank you RCA for your excellence.

Bought a 55" TV for my father on his birthday Oct 2017 from Walmart.com. The picture went blank less than a year later. It was under warranty yet RCA/Curtis gave us a complete runaround. After many phone calls, emails etc, the last call today I was told by the call center that they never call anyone back and I have to wait for an email. We have been waiting for a month. Ridiculous. You think you are buying a quality product with a long history of great customer service and all it is is crap. I would say that Walmart.com should dump this product as should all retail companies. I bought an RCA 55" TV. After 2 months the screen started showing a pattern of colors. Green, red, blue, white and over again. So I called and like everyone else waited for an email. Got that and followed the instructions of emailing back the serial #, model #, and a picture of the issue. Waited weeks till I received another email. This one said I can either send the TV to them at my own cost, or I can take a hammer to my TV screen and smash it then take a pic and email it to them. Yes you read that right a hammer. Lol. So I called to make sure this wasn't a joke and it wasn't. I did smash the screen, took a pic then my husband took the TV to the dump, as I have children/pets that don't need to get into the glass etc. Well now RCA is telling me my picture was too dark & generic and they can't help me. I was promised an email with a list of service centers near me, and instructions on how to get the TV fixed. The emails were never sent/received. I brought an RCA tablet for my daughter and it stopped working and it stopped working. It took me almost three months to get in touch with someone. Once I did get in contact with someone, I sent my tablet off I and waited for months and was never contacted about the tablet so I called the 1-800 number and asked them what happen to my tablet. I was told that it was a crack inside of the tablet crack inside the screen. I told them that the tablet did not have a crack when I mailed it to them and if it is a crack inside it sound like a manufacturing problem. They gave me an email to contact rcaav.com_support_webform. I email this email address last year when I was told to by the first person about the crack and never receive a reply and I email it earlier this year and still did not hear back from anyone. It's been almost a year and I still have not received my daughter tablet back.
I am very upset. I paid with my hard earn money and to be told that they will not send me back the tablet that I paid for is ridiculous and crazy. I never buy RCA and this is one of the reasons why I never buy products from this company. This company is a rip-off and it's a fraud. It makes cheap products that do not have the quality to it. I would recommend to anyone never buy RCA and for them to cheat my daughter's tablet for almost a year and refuse to bring it back. Refused to send it back is crazy.
When I try to contact someone about it when I called the 1-800 number to technical support lady told me that I would have to email them. I have email every time I call that one 800 number. They give me an email address and every time I email I do not get a correspond. This company is a fraud and it's ripping off thousands of consumers. This company does not need to be in business and I recommend to everybody to never ever purchase an RCA product.
I want my money back for the amount that I paid for my daughter's tablet. My daughter has not even been able to use her tablet once and it's been almost a year that they have had my tablet and now they're refusing to send it back. This is this company is a sham and a fraud and if you keep treating people like this you won't have a company. I could have spent my money and bought another product. I could have bought a Samsung. I could have bought Apple iPad but I purchase RCA and I'm now I'm being ripped off and my daughter does not have a tablet.
I will contact a lawyer so that I can see if I can start a class action lawsuit against RCA. I know that I am not the only person that this has happened to but it needs to stop for this company to take people money and make and selling products that are fraudulent. Their products are garbage/trash and I recommend that no one ever buy RCA products. They should be put out of business for the trash that they sell.

There should be a negative star option because this company is absolutely horrible. I bought a 50 RCA TV model RT5030 in August 2018. Four months later it stopped working. The tv would turn on but there was absolutely no picture (pretty sure a backlight went on it), anyway. RCA has a year warranty on their products with the receipt, which I unfortunately lost. I called RCA customer service anyway the day it happened and they told me they wouldn't even speak to me without a receipt. So I went to the store I bought it from about a week later and got them to look up the receipt and reprint it for me.
I called RCA back that day at about 11am and they took my information and told me someone would call me back that same day, by about 8pm no one had called me back, so I called again. The lady who picked up the phone told me that whoever told me that was wrong to do so because they don't call customers back. So again I had to give her all my information and she said that the head office would email me within 48 hours.
Well 48 hours go past and no email. So I called for a fourth time. The person who answered this time was incredibly rude. Told me an email was sent. I explained that I haven't received it and she continued to tell me that it's been sent so there's nothing she can do. After several minutes of telling the lady I haven't gotten it I finally ask how they spelled my email (even though I told the lady who asked for it how to spell it three different times) and they had it spelled completely wrong. So she sends out another email. 48 hours go by and I actually get the email this time. So I do as the instructions as said in the email and email them back.
A week goes by and nothing. I call again. All they can tell me is that it's in high priority and I should hear from someone soon. Another week goes by. So again, I called them. And they tell me the same thing. I've been dealing with this company for approximately a month and a half now trying to get my tv fixed or something and they will not give me any answers. Their products suck, and their customer service sucks even more. Never will I ever buy anything from RCA again. I've never experienced anything like this before and have absolutely nothing good to say about them.

Called RCA for authorization to exchange the tv at Leon's (as per Leon's policy), the rep told me to go to Leon's to exchange the tv as no authorization was required. When to Leon's and they told me they couldn't exchange without authorization. Leon's then called RCA who told them the authorization will take between 24 to 48 hours. I've been emailed by RCA who has now told me I have to drive to their service centre to have the tv evaluated! This company is terrible. They don't know what they are doing and have no consideration for their customers. They should stand by their products.

In February, 2015 I bought an RCA LED46C45RQ 47" 1080 60 Hz LED HDTV. I bought it at Walmart for 350.75. The return window on it expired in May (6.5 months ago) so they told me I'd have to work with the manufacturer. I'd hoped they'd realize that it was a faulty picture and refund, repair, or exchange it. There were quite a few negative reviews on the Walmart page that popped up after I had purchased it but I always read reviews before buying. After it went out, I reread and bad ones had been added. Anyway, RCA says they only guarantee for 1 year. I said they should start making things to last longer than 2 years and they said they are sorry it didn't meet my expectations. Seriously??? My super high expectations of more than 2 or 3 years??? Ridiculous. Be leery… Especially on higher priced stuff… If they are only building to be good enough to outlast their 1 year warranty.

I've been looking for ways to reduce expenses and started researching Smart Televisions. I found the RCA LRK40G445RQ 40" 1080p 60hz LED HDTV with Roku Streaming (pre-installed Roku player 3400X) series television and purchased this one (and later a 32") from Walmart. When I learned the ROKU stick was 'pre-installed', I thought, Great! No set-top boxes to clutter up the room. Big Mistake. I want to warn potential customers not to buy any television with a pre-installed ROKU stick. Even though I purchased two of these televisions, a 40" and a 32" (because of the price point) I have since learned a very important fact I want to share with everyone. First, understand that a Smart TV the same as a computer or cell phone. New technology brings advancements with these products. If you own a smartphone, you know it's best to get a new phone every year to enjoy the latest upgrades. Smart TVs are the same.
The ROKU stick in my televisions is 'outdated', even though I purchased them less than three years ago. First, don't buy any television with a pre-installed ROKU stick. As new ROKU players become available, you are stuck with a television that cannot be updated to the latest version of the ROKU product. I learned this the hard way and hope my experience helps you understand more about Smart TVs. At first, I enjoyed saving money by cutting the cable and only paying for internet and Wi-Fi. The ROKU feature has many free channels that are 'average' but to enjoy watching movies and network programming, you need to purchase add-on subscriptions. I added Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and CBS All Access. I don't mind having regular channels and have enjoyed the add-on subscriptions.
Another problem is CBS All Access stopped working this year. After calling customer service repeatedly, I've been told they are having technical difficulties with 'older Roku versions' such as mine. What? My RCA TVs were purchased in 2015 & 2016. While CBS All Access customer service has been quite cooperative, I am unable to watch the 'regular' channel I most enjoy. They say they are working on the problem and hope to resolve this issue. Next, I wanted to try the new DIRECTV app and learned it is not available with ROKU. I'm trying to contact RCA directly to file a complaint. In my opinion, RCA should never have manufactured these televisions. The 'average' customer who can't afford an expensive television also can't afford to buy a new television every few years to stay current with the 'new technology'.
Please do not buy any televisions with pre-installed Roku sticks. As technology improves, the stick you are 'stuck with' cannot be updated and the television is basically worthless if you want to watch new programming. I have no problems with the other subscribed providers and no interruption streaming media. This is a three-fold issue. One being RCA, the second with add-on providers that you can't use with Roku, and the third Roku. I sincerely hope I've helped you prior to purchasing a Smart TV. Be a 'Smart' customer and do your homework prior to making a purchase. Remember the good old days? I had an RCA television that worked perfectly for over 20 years. Things are not the same these days. Smart shopping!

Below is an email I wrote to RCA to deal with my problem: "I recently contacted your support center about an issue with my TV and it was determined that the TV needed to be repaired. All of the service centers the rep. on the phone listed for BC were more than 4 hours driving distance from my location. The rep. then tried to argue with me saying that the Prince George service center was only an hour from me. I looked it up on Google to demonstrate the distance and informed him that it was over 750 KMs from my location. He then suggested I ship the TV out to the Ontario warehouse for it to be repaired and shipped back to me. When I informed him the shipping would be worth more than the TV he said, "that since I was unwilling to take it to a service center" that I send you an email. I called the service line back and asked to speak with a supervisor to escalate the call and hopefully find a better option.
I suggested having the local TV repair center fix the TV and have me reimbursed for its cost. This was denied and the "supervisor" told me to send an email. I've attached pictures of the information on the back of the TV along with the receipt and the front of the TV itself. To be honest I'm quite disappointed with the level of customer service I have received thus far. In this digital age I'm dumbfounded that an international company would have policies in place that prevent timely cost effective solutions. Much less not have someone that can be reached by phone to deal with these less straightforward situations. The above description of events does not include the time I spent on hold, which was beyond reasonable. Nonetheless I am writing this email to hopefully find a way for me to have a working television in a timely, cost effective manner. Please respond and inform me how this is to be dealt with."
They replied with the same information about the service centers I was informed about on the phone. In my online research I found that RCA is a brand owned and operated by Curtis International Ltd. They have the same support phone number listed on the sites of their other brands, they are; Curtis, RCA, IGLOO, SYLVANIA, and PROSCAN. There are probably 2 people at the end of that phone answering questions with prepared responses out of a book. I took my TV to my local repair shop and the technician there told me there was a problem with the circuit board and that he couldn't source ANY circuit boards for that TV. Never again with I ever purchase an RCA product.

Worked with Sears Tech Service via phone for 6 months, even bought a cleaning disc. Sears finally said the unit was defective and needed to be returned to RCA for replacement. They gave me a contact number which was never answered... There was only a recorded message that all reps are busy and to send an email. Kept calling at various hours (even the middle of the night) and sent a dozen emails.
Finally, after 3 months, I received an email back apologizing for the delay and asking for more info. I sent the info and another dozen or so emails but never heard back from them. We were scheduled to leave the US for hurricane relief work in the Bahamas so we just bought another TV (Vizio) right before we left the US. When we came back I was told to contact our State Consumer Affairs department. Which I did. Lucky me... I'm over the hill so we were immediately put in the 'seniors vs crime' division. First, it took me quite a while to find out that Curtis International looks after this particular RCA tv. I returned to the store where I purchased it and was told this tv is one of the most returned and that I should have read reviews. I did not get the extended warranty for 2 years. I sent an email to Curtis explaining situation and was told that as a courtesy they would possibly cover the cost of the parts but I would have to take it to a dealer for an estimate. I called an authorized dealer and would told the estimate costs $50.00 plus HST and there is a minimum $150.00 tv repair charge thereafter. I bought tv for $248.00 total. I then took tv to a shop and it cost me $70.00 for part and repairs. So before you buy look at reviews. If you decide to buy this particular tv get the extended warranty.

Please try again later or leave us an email at customerservice@activon.com, and we will get back to you within two business days. Thank you for your patience."
I sent an email regarding my problem. Someone by the name of Jeff did respond claiming "he would be happy to give me a refund, if I send him proof of purchase". So, the same day I sent the proof of purchase but I never heard from him again. Since then I have sent more emails but I never get a response. I do not want another tv from RCA at this point! I WANT A REFUND! Because clearly the product is no good. Someone needs to contact me ASAP! This experience has been a nightmare. Sincerely, Dissatisfied Customer.

Never experienced such bad customer service until I tried to get my RCA TV fixed under warranty. I've included details below of a timeline but basically once the repair company (A&E Factory Services) confirms the TV cannot be repaired they give you a number that is always a machine and they never reply to your email. Sounds like this is par for the course from what I'm seeing here.
9/17/2016, called 1-888-977-6722 to report issue with TV (this is actually A&E Factory Services but they answer the phone as ONCORP). 10/3/2016, repairman inspected TV, confirmed issue, ordered part. 11/17/2016, after several calls with repair company, was informed 11/17 that part was no longer available and told to contact 858-798-3300. 11/17/2016, called 858-798-3300 (Activeon) and told to email customerservice@activeon.com. 11/17/2016, emailed with details. 11/22, today, called multiple times, never a person answering. I bought two RCA Viking Pro tablets, one for me and one for my daughter, and both worked great. One got stepped on when it was carelessly left out and the screen cracked. That's on me. So, I contacted support and was more than happy to pay the fee to have it repaired since it was my fault, along with the usual shipping insurance. I thought everything was going great and I was getting it repaired at less than the cost to buy a new one, but then I got my package, and guess what... I immediately noticed that the screen is distorted and has red and blue wavy lines all over it. And not only that, the screen is cracked. The very thing I sent it to be repaired for! It's a different tablet so obviously they replaced it, but this one is worse than the one I sent to them.
Again, I contacted support and was told to send it to them AGAIN to be repaired along with another fee and the exact same process I went through before. I paid my fee. They should refund it or send me another tablet that isn't more damaged but I fear they'll send me back a box full of random parts this time. I complained to customer service one last time but I'm not expecting a satisfactory answer. I'm just going to recycle this piece of trash because it will cost more than I paid for the tablet to fix. And I am NEVER buying from this company again.

I have got a Voyager PRO with keyboard case few months back and it worked for the first month and then it quit. It wouldn't. It acts like it takes to charge and then it's not taking a charge. It won't turn on. You can't reset it and nothing. And when you contact RCA they want you to pay to send it to him when it was under warranty and for you to make sure that it was in bubble wrapped in a certain type of box and everything. Why aren't they sending the stuff if it's under warranty. They should be paying for whatever it needs to get there to fix it or replace it and send it back. This isn't right.

Finally it stopped working altogether. Called the number for warranty which is a nightmare in itself. Finally got the go ahead to take tv repair shop. Took about 3 weeks before we got tv back. Much like Jeff a few posts ago, I purchased a 48" RCA HD TV from Walmart for my mother, my purchase being in February. Five months later, it quit working. July 18, I called RCA, and they agreed it was under warranty, and would send someone out August 2 (2 weeks for a service call). The technician came and worked on it, telling my mother that it had a defective panel and would need replacing. He said that his company would send that in to warranty the next day, and we should hear something from them on the replacement in about a week.
A couple of weeks later, my mother tries calling the phone line he gave her for the RCA support, since she has not heard from them. The phone picks up with, "All of our associates are currently assisting other customers. Please try again later or leave us an email at customerservice@activeon.com, and we will get back to you within one business day. Thank you for your patience." My mother waits a couple of hours, and gets the same message. She tries first thing in the morning (their hours), and gets the same message.
Being an almost 80-year old woman who cannot learn e-mail, she turns it over to me. I tried several times to call, and got the exact same message, so I sent them an e-mail to customersupport@activeon.com on August 25, going off the promise in their recorded message that they would get back to me in a day. Guess what? Nope.
At this point, RCA says that they do not do any service or warranty on the tv, that I have to go thru ActiveOn. ActiveOn doesn't answer phone calls or e-mails. We are now 42 days from the phone call to start the warranty service, and can get absolutely no information from anyone. If RCA is not going to be a part of RCA television customer service, they need to take their logo off of that product. If they are going to continue to make money off letting others use the logo and name, then they need to support the customers who have bought strictly based on that name.

RCA 48" HD TELEVISION purchased online thru Walmart in January 2016. TV went to black screen June 2016. Called customer service. Man on phone verified that it was under warranty. Based on info given said it sounded like symptoms that almost always require a new TV for replacement. Technician cannot come for 8 days. Technician comes and says he is certain that the TV will need replacement, but has to order parts that RCA insists on. Goes through this all the time and parts fix problem 1 out of every 20-25 times. Schedule return to try parts 11 days later.
Has no idea how long it will be for them to then get TV in hands of customer. We bought the ten-inch tablet for our son. In less than a month it wasn't charging, and would not hold a charge on the off chance that it did charge. If we found it was charged and unplugged it, ten minutes later it was out of power. I bought it through Wal-Mart's, with the two-year warranty. When I took it back to Wal-Mart's, they told me I was two days past their return policy (15 days). So I went home and called customer service. First "Lisa" (strange name for someone with a very strong Indian accent) told me that I needed to find something with a similar sized charge cord and try using that. When I told her I was unwilling to void my warranty by using a cord that did not go to my tablet, she directed me to a website called RCA repair your tablet. Again, I told her that I was not fixing my own tablet, that I was not an idiot, and that I knew once I started "working" on my own tablet, she informed me that she couldn't help me if I was "going to be difficult".
I asked to speak to her manager. At first, she told me she didn't have one. I asked her for her name and desk reference number. She told me her name was "Lisa" but that her last name was "personal" and that she didn't have a desk reference number. I again asked to speak to her supervisor, she told me she could take down my number and he would call me in an hour. It's been three hours, just as I suspected, I didn't get a phone call. I have to wonder why I bought a warranty! What a joke. Wal-Mart told me that it was RCA's problem. RCA told me that it was Wal-Mart's problem. So essentially I wasted one hundred and seventy dollars. We have an RCA 32" TV/DVD combo in a spare guest room. Purchased this from Best Buy on March 21, 2015. It was used about 2 weeks total time. Won't turn on. No sound, no picture. Phoned Warranty at 888-977-6722 about Jan. 26, 2016. Told me they were sending me a box to ship it in for repair, however the box never arrived. Called back to RCA 3rd party warranty claims and was told I didn't provide my Best Buy Receipt, find it and call back. I found the receipt, called back and was told by Robert that a box would arrive in about 5-10 days. Waited, no box arrived. Waited an additional 5-10 days and still no box. Called on March 21 and spoke to Anthony, who told me he saw the problem, someone in his company filled out the form wrong. I asked for a box and he told me too late now to fall under the warranty, because it is March 21, and I purchased the TV on March 21, 2015.
I asked for a supervisor and he told me I couldn't speak to one. He told me call RCA escalation at 858-798-3300 and if they decide to help me, call him back. Unbelievable! I called and left a message for RCA escalation, explaining that their 3rd party warranty vendor, in my opinion, ran out my warranty time purposely and refuses to assist. (We are talking January-March!) In the interim, I phoned back RCA 3rd party warranty and spoke to Jorge, asking him to speak to a supervisor, after having explained the warranty scam again. Jorge put me on hold, came back and said I couldn't speak to a supervisor, they are just a 3rd party, not RCA. I explained to Jorge that his company is a 3rd party hired by RCA to represent them, and they failed me, and I feel they cheated me out of my warranty.
He gave me a number for his legal department at 847-286-2500, which is Sears Holdings for customers who purchased products at Sears or KMart. Not applicable to me, and further misuse of my time and terrible business tactics presented by RCA's 3rd party warranty company. I did receive a call from a man named Dave, after having left a detailed message with my model no. LED32G30RQD and serial # on the company voice mail. Dave ensured me that he would speak to his appropriate colleague and phone me either later the same day, March 21, or the next day. I write this on March 23, with no follow-up from RCA.
This TV is quite inexpensive and I didn't expect high quality, however I expect to get a decent amount of time from a product that is not utilized on a consistent basis. (Ironically RCA warranty department told me that for some reason if you don't consistently use your RCA TV they stop working? Seriously, this 3rd party needs to reevaluate the telephone operators they hire, or at least give them a decent script of excuses for the TV not working). It is now more a principle issue, because this TV should have been fixed in January.

I understand a television set that I have purchased under the name RCA was produced by an inferior manufacture that is no longer in business. However, that does not concern me because I bought an RCA television that should be backed by RCA... however, after numerous attempts of getting some support from RCA, I was finally told that I could not be helped and perhaps should hire a lawyer by one of your customer service representatives at the # 845-798-3300. I see how RCA stands behind their brand name and is absolutely vile and disgusting.
I am not in the habit of purchasing a new television set every few years so your CEO can make thousands of dollars an hour by selling inferior products. I have been documenting my WONDERFUL experience in trying to get compensation for the superior television I have wasted my money on. I will share this documentation with who I choose and will continue to spread the word about RCA products (not to ever buy one). I would have liked to have resolved this issue easily, however RCA has not allowed me to. Thanks for nothing.

I'm a Grandmother who purchased this Tablet at Walmart for one of my Granddaughters for her Birthday, which was July 16th. She was at my house for dinner so I took the Tablet and hooked it up to the charger while we ate. After Dinner I gave it back to her and as soon as she turned it on, it had nearly a white screen with horizontal lines across the screen. I was able to get to her homepage where all her icons were. I took at back to Walmart and they said I would have to go directly through RCA and the number is on the box it came in.
For one I wasn't happy about having to go through this in the first place. So as I returned home I called RCA spoke to someone in Support Dept. They created an RA for me and said they would email me the return postage to use sending it back. A few days later I contacted them because I hadn't yet received it. I finally got the Email and sent the tablet out on July 29th. The Tracking of the package stated that it was received on Aug. 4th. I just received it back yesterday Sept. 2nd. My Daughter in law was setting it back up for my Granddaughter and she was only able to hit icons in the Vertical position of the Tablet. Nothing worked when Tablet was turned to the Horizontal position. Then the screen turned all white.
I called RCA and he said they would send out a refurbished Tablet to replace it and would be sending a shipping label to return my Granddaughters tablet. I am furious about this. I bought her a brand new Tablet and they'll replace it with a refurbished one. She had it in her possession for 13 days before I had to send it back. This is not right, I'm sorry. They should stand by their products and if they can't then they shouldn't be in the Business. I'm not stopping here. I will Report this to the BBB.

I bought this for my 2-year old. As she's growing into becoming a toddler, even the grocery store trips were becoming a nightmare. I bought it online through Walmart and it came promptly, even though I had ordered a package for this dvd player and a dvd (the frozen movie) and I never got dvd itself, but that's just walmart for you. It took me a while to figure out where the volume was because since it had a remote control I would never think the volume was only featured on the monitor itself. I never put both monitors to work because I only have one kid to entertain so I just stored the other one. This did wonders for only 2 weeks before it started giving me a lot of troubles.
First it would just stop at every little bump the car went on, then It started rewinding or fast forwarding by itself. I mean it got to the point where I really wanted to break it just to get rid of it. It was irritating me because I would have to stop every two minutes to check on what was wrong because my toddler kept yelling "mommy broke, mommy broke." So since I had paid for the warranty when I purchased it I contacted them. They then told me I had to talk to RCA directly so I did. They then proceeded to tell me I had to open a ticket online by filling out a form which I did and somebody was going to contact me. Later I realized that "someone is going to contact you" meant that someone sent me an email telling me I had to ship the broken piece in for them to fix it. No shipping labels, no replacements, no explanations on how long this was going to take.
Nonetheless I didn't argue. I did as I was told, paid from my pocket and mailed it in. 6 weeks later it finally came back. I first thought It was a new piece but soon realized it was the same old one so then I thought well maybe they had fixed it . WRONGGGG AGAIN!!! It worked 1 day and started doing the same problem. And don't even get me started on their customer service, not only do they s*ck in manners and are rude as hell but even their supervisors are a bunch of helpless, uneducated people. After I called to tell I had the same problem 6 weeks after they had that piece of ** to fix it, I was told to repeat the process again and send it in again for their technical team to "take a look at it." If you don't have time to deal with a bunch of uneducated people stay away from this company, not only this product. I will never purchase another RCA product in my entire life!!!

Unless you are told to call customer service it is better not to start claim online then call. Things get crazy and miscommunicated because you have 2 different people trying to help you doing 2 different things. RCA is known for its lifetime warranty & customer service with repair and replacement if there is ever a problem. I must agree with this because they are very knowledgeable of RCA products. There were no questions asked because I already filed a claim online and then called them after 1 week and no responses. You have to wait for a pre-authorization # with the address of repair company in New York. Box it up and ship it (I used UPS). In less than 2 weeks they replaced my son's tablet from mfg defect of usb with extra tablet accessories.
CHECK YOUR SPAM, JUNK, AND TRASH BINS. My email was in spam. They have automated response to your issue. There is no way for them not to respond. It responds automatically to every online issue sent rcatablets.com. The 2nd pro10 (less than 6 months old) screen is cracked: I have the protection plan & they are standing by their word. I mail this one back and they e-gift card me in 48 hours upon receiving it, no questions asked. And if they don't I'll come back here and complain about what a ripoff it was.
YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR TABLET WITH RCATABLETS.COM FIRST + company if you have a purchase protection plan, or walmart.com if you got it from Wal-mart. They research to find who is warranted to repair or replace. Every company is different under the limited, mfg, dealer, retailer, or private company's warranty agreements. My husband bought me a RCA Pro10 Edition in November 2014 at Walmart, but I didn't open the gift until Xmas. I liked it a lot, but used it mainly for eBay and Facebook, store personal photos & other info. I didn't use it a lot. I usually charged it & unplugged it when done, & cut it off when not in use. One late night I plugged it in before bed & left it overnight to charge. The next day, toward end of January 2015, when I went to turn it on, it would only open to the page with the RCA logo with the dogs. It kept going from a black screen to this logo page only. It would not allow me to turn it off or on. The battery eventually died. Since the 30 day return policy was over at Walmart, I just left it laying for a few days till I could to contact RCA customer support to request help.
They told me to do a factory reset, which causes you to lose everything stored on it. Since it would not turn on or off, I could not retrieve anything before doing this reset. It worked for a few days and then did the same thing again. I had to do another factory reset, and lost all my info again. They eventually sent me a RA label to print off for UPS to pick it up. I requested for it to be fixed and for the expensive anti-spyware to be kept on it. They said they would do so and return it to me. After probably 6 weeks of waiting for them to ship it back, I got upset. I kept emailing back and forth & kept getting the runaround.
Finally, they shipped a replacement that did not have my anti-spyware still on it. The screen was also bent upward on all corners and had trash underneath the screen. It could be seen really well when turned on. When I sent it to them, the screen corners were very flat and no trash was underneath. I emailed them again and requested a replacement and asked them to go ahead and send the replacement and I would send the first replacement back once I received the second replacement. It took longer than they to me it would take to receive it again. Again, I kept getting excuses as to why I had not yet received it.
Finally, I received another replacement, which still had the corners of the screen curved upward, but not quite as bad. It was also a different color than what it was supposed to be. I was supposed to have a black tablet to go with my black keyboard. This one was grey. I was tired of fooling with it, so I just kept it. The 2nd replacement didn't even put a serial number sticker on the back of it, like the other two did. So far, which has been close to 2 months now, it is still working. I just got tired of fooling with the whole mess. The customer service sucked, too. They won't do anything except for email, which can go 24-48 hours between replies.

I have TWO pro10 Edition tablets. I purchased them for my kids on Christmas and today one just stopped working. It shut off and I cannot turn it back on and it will not charge. I have tried changing chargers and wall outlets and resetting, but I still get nothing. The second one has a lot of trouble charging, but it will if I hold the cord just right. I have googled the issue and there has been a lot of people with the same problem. So I called the company and got an extremely rude person trying to tell me it is my fault they won't charge and I have to pay to return the broken tablets before they'll replace them.

I bought an RCA 10 tablet for my son in November and in 15 days it didn't work. It does and it does not turn on. I bought it at Walmart online. Apparently the charger also does not work. I worked hard for my child to have this tablet. My paid check is the minimum. I would want to get my money back or other tablet that works please. THANK YOU.

I just bought a new RCA tablet. I only had it for 2 hrs when it turned off and wouldn't turn back on. I hit the reset button with a sewing needle and it came back on again. This should not happen, but if it does just hit the reset button. I have not had anymore problems with it since.

I received this in December 2014. It worked great until about a week ago when it no longer will charge. I have seen many complaints about these and no one gets anywhere with RCA. I WOULD LIKE MINE FIXED OR REPLACED BUT CAN'T GET ANY RESPONSE.

Two weeks after purchase upon powering on the tablet, I noticed a bit of a glitch in screen, it turned black and white momentarily then returned to the loading screen. My friend purchased this tablet on a Black Friday sale from Walmart. He then gave it to me to give to my son. I was initially thrilled because buying a tablet for my son has always been out of the question, due to financial hardships as I am a single parent. Two months from the day of purchase, his tablet stopped responding to the on-off button. It took several attempts before getting it to execute command. No more than a week later, my son powered on tablet to find the screen only bars of white and grey - a completely useless device. The thing that is so bothersome is how little my son actually used the tablet, no more than a total of three hour in two months. I am very disappointed with this tablet, wish I had the receipt or the money to replace it for my son.

After 2 months of light use, my RCA 10inch tablet would no longer turn on. Their service department said I would receive a replacement in 3-4 weeks and a UPS label to return my broken one. Checking back after 5 weeks I was told they would now ship it in another 1-2 weeks and I did receive a return label by Email. I shipped my broken tablet back, and now three weeks later, nothing. After reading of so many other similar complaints, I would definitely not buy an RCA product again.

I bought three tablets as gifts this past Christmas. One for my 78 year old mother. Mine to take classes on, and one for my computer savvy teen. First I was not able to download classes on mine. It said It could not support the files which sucks due to the purchase being for the sole purpose of taking classes on it and not having to lug my laptop around. Then my mother's will not turn on. She played games on it, and was having a ball. Then one day she went out to remove it from the charger and it wouldn't turn on. She left it on the charger all day and still nothing. I have tried several times to turn it on and nothing. My son said he really doesn't use his that often but so far has had no problem. Why can't I get my mother's to turn on??? I gave her mine until I can figure it out but so far have not been able to find a number to call for help. It is of course still under the manufacture warranty, so I am stuck.

I had a bit of trouble getting phone numbers but once I did everything went well. The screen on my tablet was broke which voids the warranty but I figured I would try to call RCA for help. The rep opened a ticket, gave me the information of where to send it to be fixed. I was only charged $30.00 and RCA paid the returned shipping. Within 4 weeks I received a replacement tablet in the mail. Also during the time I sent my tablet I was concerned if I mailed it correctly and if it was received. I call Venture Electronics and left a message. My phone call was returned within five minutes. I have seen so many bad reviews I felt obligated to post my good experiences with RCA and Venturer.

I purchased 4-tablets, four different colors (Black, Blue, Pink, and Purple) RCA 10.1 Tablet 16GB Quad Core Bonus Keyboard/C: KitKat: between December 13 and 17, 2014, as Christmas gifts for four of my adult children. We did not open our gifts until December 30, 2014 and by January 25, 2015 one stopped working. The next week, another, and so on. I was able to reset one and it is working sporadically.
I contacted RCA for repairs. I received an email instructing to send the first tablet to them, and if I would agree to have a different color, I said no, and explained I needed the exact one repaired or replaced. In addition, there was no information about shipping instructions for RCA to pay. When I replied to that email asking them how to send it to them without me paying, I did not receive a reply. I was ignored. However, reluctantly I followed their mailing instructions at my expense over four weeks ago, and I have not received any further information from them.
Now that I have returned one and received no response, I am more fearful to send the other three tablets that are broken. As if I will not get them back in a timely fashion, and when I do, will either of them work properly. In my lifetime, I have never experienced, what I call reckless disregard for customers, customer service, and to sell defective products is just unfair.
Furthermore, I have never had an electric device that broke within a few weeks of its operations that I can recall. To top that, I have never had to pay the return fee for repairs. I only wish that these reviews would have been posted prior to Christmas. Maybe it is was their mass productions, I do not know. What I do know is, I am unhappy as are my children and other customer.
Today is March 24, 2015, and none of my children's tablets are working properly. Further, I am writing this review like others are, due to faulty products from a respectable large company. If there is anyone that can help us it would be greatly appreciated. It makes no sense for there to be so many people with the same issues on this site, and there are other sites full of complaints. At about $129.00 and $30.00 for the tablet and insurance, and the consumer pays the return expense, I can easily say that this faulty tablet has created RCA some real profit.

The tablet was bad right out the box. It failed to power up. I had to worked through a very poor english speaker to have tablet returned for repair. Three weeks after the repaired tablet returned was returned it stopped charging. Now, the telephone number supplied with the tablet tell you to go to two websites, neither of which support the tablet or tell you how to turn it in. This vendor is making an overt attempt to discourage customers from returning their crappy products. This tells me to never again buy ANY RCA product. Complete farce. I'm waiting for the lawsuit to start so I can get in on it.

Bought tablet 2/3/15 at a Walmart in Ridgeland Ms. Can't find my receipt (still looking) but from what I've read here will not do me any good anyway. I paid $149 plus tax and cannot afford to just lose that much money. This tablet did not even work a month, and all of a sudden it will not come on, will not take a charge. Talk to a local computer tech, he says take back to walmart or contact RCA. I've called them got a recording tell me to go to website. I live on fixed disability income. This was the best I could buy for my needs. Is there anything we can do to get our money back or product replacement? Can you please help with this matter? S/N RN151DL1A1862 MODEL # RCT6203W46.

RCA Tablet won't turn on! Called the 855-475-9646. NO one ever answers, the recording tells you to go online. The website is just as worthless. This tablet DOES make a great paperweight with up to about a 5 MPH wind.

I bought an RCA Voyager 7" Tablet on Black Friday (11-28-14). Less than four months later the screen has lines going through it. It's not usable at all! My son is devastated because he took such good care of his tablet. RCA won't help me because I don't have my receipt. Why does it matter? It's their product, they should fix their mistake! With as many similar complaints as I've seen we need to get a class action lawsuit going!
