I purchased the 32" Polaroid LCD TV from Wal-Mart in November 2007. Tonight, we were watching TV and there was a popping sound, then the screen went black and smoke started pouring out of the top of the TV. This is the same issue that several other people have complained about. This TV is only 4 years old and has been well cared for.

I also bought the Polaroid #TLX03210B at Wal-Mart in November of 2007. Tonight I turned the TV on and had sound but no picture and also a buzzing noise. I have unplugged it in fear of fire. I was searching online to see if I could find out the problem when I found all these posts with pretty much identical issue. Definitely seems like a manufacturing problem if so many are having problems in the same time frame.

Last night we were watching a movie on our 32" Polaroid flat screen. It started sizzling and smoke started coming out the top. We immediately unplugged it and removed it from our center. It will come on with sound but no picture. We bought this TV 3 and 1/2 years ago and paid at least $400 for it. I see a lot of other people that purchased this same TV had the same problem and we should all get our money back! I will never buy another Polaroid ever!

I bought a 32' Polaroid HD LCD TV/DVD combo, Model TDA-03211C in 2007, and less than 3 years later, smoke suddenly started coming out of it. The screen didn't go black, like in other cases, it kept working, so it was good that an adult was nearby to unplug it right away. This happened in 2010, and at that time, I realized there were already multiple (thousands?) complaints, so I'm surprised to see consumer authorities have not enforced a recall yet.

The 32-inch DVD/TV combo is plagued with issues. Our system lost its DVD and was replaced with warranty. Then like many others, the TV just quit. Many articles online seem to point to a faulty power supply. We just replaced the power supply, and the TV is still dead. This is a great company name, too bad they have very poor products, and lack luster support. Where are you Ralph **? I would add my name to class action as well. The consequences include loss of value, risk of fire in our residence and business, loss of income related to above, death, exposure to toxic by-products from electronics failure.

I purchased a 32 inch flat screen Polaroid TV on Black Friday 3.5 yrs ago. It is now totally useless. One night, while watching, the TV went totally black but had sound and then started smoking out of the top vent of the TV. I immediately unplugged everything from the TV and removed the plug from the wall. This was of great disappointment to me for having faith in this brand and also the risk I have taken owning this product in my home. I have read many other posts pertaining to the same TV that I had purchased and the same exact descriptions as to the failure of their TV was as mine. I purchased a 32 inch Polaroid TV in 1/1/08 7. Had problems right away. The remote didn't work. Walmart said I could either return the TV, or buy a universal. Which I did, and it didn't work. By this time, Walmart did send me another remote. I now have 3 remotes but only one would work at a time. I would switch between the 1st and 3rd. Eventually neither would work and I would have to re program one of them. After 2 years of this, the screen went black. I had audio, but no picture. I called Polaroid over 6 times and was told to buy a convertor for $200.00. I filed a complaint with the bbb and also with the atty general of mass, Martha **. I called Polaroid one last time on 8/16/11 and talked to a Mark, who told me I needed to buy a converter. I said that wouldn't work because I threw the piece of ** away and got a Toshiba.

From the time we set it up, it didn't have the same great picture as all the TVs in the store but I was just happy to have the TV so I didn't think much. Two days ago, however, I did think a lot! I was watching it and had gone into the kitchen. When I returned, I had no picture, just sound. I turned it off and back on to no avail. I tried leaving it off for many hours and nothing changed. It's shut. So now, I had to purchase a new one right before the Black Friday Sales. I guess I should be glad that mine didn't start a fire--which I found out that many people have after researching it now. But I'm still totally disgusted that Polaroid kept selling, instead of recalling these after they knew about all the trouble with these. Please add my name to the lawsuit.

    I bought a 32" Polaroid (TLX-03210B) on Black Friday 2007 which cost about $400.00.

Over the last two years, if the TV was on longer than a few hours, the screen would go black (with sound) and would need to be turned off for a few hours. I contacted Polaroid and after waiting forever, I was told that it was out of any warranty. Now as of October 28th 2011, the picture is out for good! $400.00 is a lot of money for some of us to dish out for a TV purchased as a family/household gift for Christmas.

I thought Polaroid was a good brand name, being around so long and all. Now after reading about fire hazards, I won't be getting it repaired! If I had bought a brand new car and it completely quit after three and a half years of normal use, I'm pretty sure there would be laws to protect me from being ripped off. In these tough times, how am I supposed to pull together hundreds of more dollars for a new TV? On the other hand, how do I tell my two young children that we not only have no TV, but can't watch a DVD either.

In November, I bought a 32-inch HD Widescreen LCDTV (model: TLX-03210B a Polaroid Brand). It is a black Friday special at Wal-Mart. I had no problems with the TV at all, until Saturday the 1st of October of 2011.

I was watching TV with no problems, but around 10:00pm the screen went blank and I heard either a hissing sound or a sizzling sound coming from the TV, and immediately after, a black smoke starting to pour out of the top of the TV. So I went and unplugged it from the surge protector, and about 5 minutes later, the smoke stopped coming out of the TV. It took me a good 3-4 hours to get the burnt smell of plastic and whatever else is in it, to get vented out of my house. Now I am stuck watching an old 19 inch TV, with no money for a new Flat screen.

The problem continued and I had to purchase another control box in April 2011. Shortly after replacing the new control box, the TV started doing the same thing. I contacted the company and they told me that it wasn't the control box, it was the DirecTV satellite box. I called DirecTV and they sent out a service person to replace the satellite box. Everything worked pretty good up until a few weeks ago. The TV has started doing the same thing. Clearly, the TV cannot be repaired. This is the third control box and from the looks of it, the problem is not solvable. I was given a Polaroid TV 22" flat screen that hangs on the wall for Christmas 2010. Not a week later, it started turning off and then not turning back on for a while. I thought maybe I set a timer or something on accident. But it continued to happen.

Finally about a month or so of having the TV, it stopped turning on completely! The indicator light is on but the TV will not turn on even if I go up to the TV itself and press the power button. It was purchased from Target so we called and they told us they couldn't do anything and to call the company.

We did and they told us to ship it to them. But we had to pay 65 bucks to have it shipped to them on top of the cost of the broken TV. Anyway, we shipped it and about three-four weeks later got it back with a note saying that there was some kind of board that had a problem and they replaced it. So I plugged it in and it worked. But I already had a replacement TV and needed someone to hang this one back up for me so I put it back in the box and waited a few weeks for my grandfather to hang it for me.

Not two days after hanging it, I have the same problem. We called once again and they said, "Oh sorry, we can't do anything. You can ship it back to us and we'll take another look at it." You've got to be kidding me. I'm not going to waste another 65 dollars to have them not fix it. And had I known how many complaints there were, I would have returned it immediately!

Shortly after the warranty expired, it started turning on and off rapidly. I changed the plugs, outlets, power strips; and solved that. Today, I lost the picture and tried shining a flashlight at the screen in a blackened room to see if there's a faint image, but I don't see it; so, I guess it isn't the inverter. I'm using Phillips rabbit ears for an antenna; and a couple of weeks ago, it stopped receiving the higher-numbered few channels like PBS. I can only get 3 channels now -- 3, 5-1, and 5-2. I don't see how it could be related to the loss of the picture, but thought I'd mention it.
