Life definitely isn't good. Anybody remember Dixons in the high street? Hinari, Alba, Matsui, Amstrad, Goldstar etc, etc, cheap and cheerful brands, (if you had a 14" colour portable you were the man!). Well yes Goldstar is what I'm reviewing here except now we're lucky to buy Goldstar or should I say unlucky? £650 for this tv from Currys reduced from £1000 for my son's 18th (or it was on sale in a Currys store for this price for 28 days anyway) and it never even lasted 2 yrs. The panel should have lasted for 12 yrs a day solid for 10 yrs or for 6 hrs for 20 yrs etc but no, it's finished, it's stood against the wall in the garage and my son now has a little 32" to use.

Now get this, contacted LG to see about a goodwill gesture, well I got a gesture but it wasn't a good one. They offered to repair it for £888 which included a £110+vat fee for the engineer to bring the panel with him on top of the call out fee. Although I thought it was a joke apparently they were deadly serious. Basically no help whatsoever and I'm left feeling a bit insulted at the quote over £200 more than the original cost. Currys not interested either. I may just periodically give it a little dust off and sit with it as it looks rather sad just sat there next to the gym equipment and foot Clairol foot spa.

Very disappointed with the service and quality of products. Very cheap quality products. Never buy LG products because they made products from very cheap vendors and just put their name on that products. After few years when product will not work they will say this product is not repairable. I'll never buy any products of LG in my lifetime.

I purchased an LG television in 2014. I had the TV going on for years. I really trusted LG but to find out the TVs are no good. My TV is showing a black screen. I hear voices. There is sound but no picture. I bought this LG TV in good faith that I trusted this company and little to find out their customer service is poor. They don't care that you are having problems with their TV and looks like to me I am not the only person having issues with their televisions. I wasted my money. I'm on a fixed income and I don't appreciate buying something that they don't want the backup their name. It is terrible that I purchased a TV and it's gone and such little time. Why is this being allowed that these companies sell you a product that they know has issues and they refused to help you when you call the customer service is outrageous.

They have no respect and they're very low class people. It will be my last LG TV that I ever buy and it looks like to me other people feel the same way. Why do you have so many complaints about this TVs that they sell to the consumer? It's okay that they can sham us as a consumer and take advantage when they know these TV needs to be addressed. I am not happy that I have to go out and buy a new TV because their TVs did not last like they should have. I never had a TV last only four years. Never heard of such thing. You're saying is my guarantee is up and we only have a year but they knew that this TV was going to go out. This is what they're selling to us. Why they getting away with this? That's what I want to know. I need an answer.

Bought a 60 inch LG UHD Smart TV in 2016 and mounted on the wall. After 1 year one of the HDMI ports went bad and this weekend I noticed vertical lines on the screen, then half screen and then black screen. Called LG and it was determined the TV was toast and the warranty was expired... Tough luck. TV was only used in the summer on weekends.

I spent $2900 at Best Buy for a new LG OLED EF9500 3D model. Worked great for a year but after 14 months it developed a yellow stain in the middle of screen. LG support told me to reset the screen but they couldn't tell me how to do it. I contacted LG USA. They ended up telling 3 different ways. Which didn't work. Of course, the warranty doesn't cover the screen. Checked online found 1000s of like complaints. LG OLED screens fail. Be smart. Buy Samsung who covers the screen.

LG 55UH - I opened a box and the screen was cracked. I called their customer service and they said that it was cover because it was physical damage. They didn't seem to care that they caused the physical. That means that their entire warranty is a smoke screen that they do not stand behind. I am done with LG products after that experience. I now have to throw away a $500 TV that never displayed a single picture because it costs more to repair than the TV is worth.

I called their so-called customer service - there's an oxymoron for a start - and was actually accused of lying about the fault. "You should not believe what you read on the internet." I was also told by the most annoying, argumentative CSR I've ever spoken to. No resolution of course, no admission of poor quality products. The performance of this television is the best that I have experienced. I have tried different brands only to be disappointed. The LG TV I have has a superb picture quality and the HD channels are like looking through glass, that's how crystal clear it is. Its functionality is also top notch. The only downfall is trying to adjust the picture mode. I like to take advantage of using the entire screen of my 65", which why I bought it. At times it will not adjust depending on what you are watching.

Paid near $1000.00 for a LG smart TV. It was smart enough to know the warranty expired and broke 2 days after. Had this boat anchor repaired and it broke again after 10 months. LG's answer was to tell me where it could be fixed again. Thanks but it's an LG I am aware of the repair centers. I could rent a TV cheaper than this and all other brand TV's I own lasted for years not months. Now I'll have to pay again to get this pile of garbage hauled away. I will never buy another LG product. They don't stand behind their products and they are junk. Customer service is a joke. Try to leave feedback on their site they don't like and it is blocked. As customers we need to band together and file a class action lawsuit. LG knows their products are a consumer ripoff.

I bought an 84in LED UHD 4K TV(84UB9800) in Oct 2014 for close to $20K. In about May of 2017, guests in my home started to notice vertical grey bars on certain scenes. As it turns out, this issue, known as Banding, is well known within LG and has been experienced by many TV owners with TVs of different sizes. LG apparently knows about the issue as evidenced by their troubleshooting guidelines for this issue in particular. I certainly would have thought twice about buying LG TVs if I was told than banding was a known chronic defect that could manifest at any time. Let's face it, investing $20K in a TV that lasts just 2.5 years is a poor ROI. When I spoke to LG, they first advised going through the troubleshooting steps.

When I explained that banding was seen for every input, including the onboard apps, they sent out a tech and charged me $124 for the tech visit. The tech knew right away what the issue was and said the replacement panel will cost $4K. That would have brought my total investment to $24K. The labor to replace the panel would be $300. In the meantime, I found refurbished units and brand new units of the same model for between $4K and $6.2K. I asked LG why they thought I would do either, because even if I replaced the panel, the defect could occur with the new panel, and if I bought a new one, the new one would be subject to banding. When I asked them what motivation I would have to buy LG in the future, they said they could not answer that for me.

I could not believe the arrogance of these people. They would not even negotiate a lower price on the panel replacement. I had been a loyal LG customer, buying other LG TVs and appliances in the past, so negotiating would have bought them more goodwill and additional purchases. But, based on their attitude and this experience, I will never, ever buy another LG product. Obviously LG would not expect a customer to replace a panel for that cost. If their intention was to motivate me to just buy another brand new LG, then their intention missed the mark by thousands of miles. My advice: DO NOT BUY LG TVs, PERIOD.

My LG is a smart tv that has internet access, so I can stream Netflix, HULU, Youtube, Amazon Prime, etc. You have the ability to get more apps from LG Smart World. It has a 42" screen and it fits my apartment nicely. The only problem I have with this TV is that it occasionally switches to streaming TV without any input from me. That is easily fixed by pressing exit on the remote and it brings you back to what you were watching.

Overall I give the LG 42" LN5700 a good rating. I would give it a very good rating if not for the problem I mentioned. It has a nice look, small frame around the screen, HDMI and USB ports as well as normal cable/over-the-air connections. These are all easily accessible on the back of the TV. It also has an optical input for connecting a home theater which is very nice because it allows for higher fidelity, which I use. It also has a nice remote control where the user can program the TV for auto-scan for channels, My Apps for watching streaming or playing games, user preferences for contrast, brightness, etc.

LGOLED65 - I decided to Google the issue I just started having with my OLED that's 8 months old. After seeing some of the responses in this thread, I can see I'm not the only one having the issue of greenish blobs occurring on my screen. I called LG today, the tech remoted in through my android phone's camera and saw the issue, she put me on hold to show her manager. Once she came back on the phone she told me it would covered and replaced, I was unexpectedly surprised WOW am I really going to get good service?

Well after going through all the information exchanges, she told me that a repairman would be out to replace the panel, wait what? My response was "I would like a replacement NOT a repair person taking apart a practically brand new OLED." I informed her I've had experiences where this has happened with other LG products and they either send the wrong parts, forget my appointments, or make numerous visits without fixing the issue. I let her know I wanted a NEW set, I did just spend over 3,000. I asked to speak to a manager, she came back on the line and told me the wait would be too long and that a manager will call me back within 24 hours. Today is 11-20-17. Let's see what happens, I surely hope I have something good to say when I return here. Fingers crossed!

This is only one of countless sites of people with the same issue. Two year old TV and it's toast... menu and sound work but snowy picture screen with all inputs including internet! Unreal and not right. A major appliance manufacturer selling products with known defects and continuously getting away with it over and over again without addressing the issues. Imagine that!

I bought a complete LG kitchen set at the same time I purchased the LG 49UA6400-UF TV. Keeping my fingers crossed the set will last! This is without a doubt my first and last LG TV! If this is how they respond to their customers, virtually screwing them without a care in the world, then they have lost my business from this day forward as well! The only way to hold companies responsible anymore is to stop buying their products when they screw the public (the end-user) over! Way to go LG.

LG OLED65 - We bought our TV in Nov 2016. In May of 2017 we started to notice a static green smudge on the screen. Over time we noticed a green line elsewhere on the screen. Over time, we noticed more and more green geometric shapes evolving on the screen. LG sent out a technician, and after multiple visits, he ordered a new screen. LG only sends out refurbished screens. They refused to replace the TV. The new screen was installed in June of this year. Two plus months later, the same problem evolved: First a green smudge, then more and more green geometric shapes. I called LG and demanded a new TV, since the new screen did not resolve the issue.

They refused. Instead of an LG tech, they referred us to a third party (TK), who said they can only do what LG tells them to do, and LG will only authorize another refurbished screen. Since our TV is wall mounted, it costs us $300 to hire someone to remove the TV and remount it afterward. LG refuses to replace the TV. Our warranty expires later this month. We asked LG what will happen if this new screen fails after the warranty expires, and they said "We will do our best to assist you." We asked if they would still fix the problem after the warranty expires, and they responded with the same canned response. Furthermore, the Customer Service refuses to provide the names of anyone higher up in the hierarchy who has the authority to fix our problem. I even contacted the CEO of LG, who never responded at all. HIDEOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I bought this LG OLED65C6P on January 15th, 2017. I just started noticing an image burn on it around 10/1/2017. I spoke with LG and they had me try their panel noise reduction on the TV. I did it 4 times with no improvement. I called them back to let them know, and to my surprise they said that image burn wasn't covered under the warranty. I was said the television is less than a year old and they said, "Sorry not covered under the warranty."

I said it was convenient that no one was told about it when they were purchasing the TV 9 months ago. I also now see a lot of complaints about the image burn issues online that were not available when researching the television. LG DOES NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCTS! They say it was in the user manual, which is nice since one wasn't included in the box when I bought it and it should have been a issued acknowledged and discussed prior to purchasing the TV.

At the very least a warning in advance from LG. Very poor business and warranty. Be forewarned, the television wasn't never used for gaming and only used to watch cable television. The programs that have banners that stay on the screen will create an image burn on your expensive new television that LG does not back up under warranty.

We purchased LG TV OLED65C6P 8/1/16; everything was fine until mid-January when my husband noted TV would suddenly lose the show he was watching and the screen would go white, psychedelic, and many different colors of the rainbow. It wasn't happening frequently so he did not mention. Starting in May 2017 it rapidly progressed; not only the colors but you had to shut TV off and on many times to get the picture back.

I first notified LG through their service call system. I contacted them at least 6 times before we got any information about repair services. Then we waited until they could find a certified repair service in our area that could do the repair. We have a service in our town but they require 2 techs to come out since the TV was bigger than 55" which ours did not have. Our first call was early June and we finally had someone come out early September. Our TV worked for about 4 days and again started to act up. Would go to white screen; say we weren't authorized to watch content of program; screen turn colors again. Again you had to shut off and turn on multiple times.

I sent an email to LG 9/27/17; received a scripted response 9/28/17 telling us they needed 1-2 business days to review case. It is 10/9/17 and we have still not heard back from them. This is the worst customer service we have ever experienced. When you call the service center, the same questions are asked and the exact response is given each time. I would never recommend LG to anyone.

When this happened there was no control over the TV either with remote or on front panel. It would spaz out during this glitch and the volume would go up & down repeatedly on its own. I researched online and there were many forums where others had the same or similar problems with the model. I think there was a recall on it in Australia (can’t remember which Country).

Well I called them and lo and behold they gave me a “courtesy warranty extension”. I thought that was great at the time and they did in fact fix the TV in Mar. 2013. However since about May 2017 the same exact problem is happening. There is an obvious defect in their TV components. This time I was told to call a factory authorized repairman. Might as well buy a new one. Sad thing I don't have the money to purchase a new one. I would think after spending 713.29 for this one that it would last me more than a year.

So I contacted LG to see what they can do. They told me if I still had the receipt which I didn't but I went to Walmart to see if they can print me out something that verifies that I purchased it. Well they did. But LG didn't take it because it didn't have the logo of Walmart because it was a copy. The receipt had everything except the Walmart logo. Sadly they declined helping me because of that after all the trouble I had to deal with at Walmart because they wouldn't give me a receipt. They said they don't do that anymore. I had to talk to two different manager and plead to them but LG customer service was not helpful at all. Sadly my TV is still on the mount because I can't bring it down. Any recommendations?

The picture says it ALL! Never owned a worse TV and I'm a senior who has bought more TVs in my lifetime than can be counted on all of my digits (hands and feet)! Based upon the remarks here and the terrible customer service we all suffer to be associated with in non-customer support base that companies provide us with (i.e. speaking to a computer with very specific choices that leave out any real problems) - I will not call LG, but rather worn the world of the problems and let 'em burn with poor sales. Fight fire with fire!

Bought the LG 50" LED TV from Costco for $588 and have had for maybe 2 years at the outside. My recommendation is buy SAMSUNG and if you do happen to have problems... By-pass customer support and go to the national support lines and you'll get satisfaction... Computers and agents from India are NOT going to help. ANOTHER - avoid Home Warranty Company policies until they send you the complete policy with all small print... You'll find they are the biggest rip-offs of all (next to lawyers).

IN SEPTEMBER 2015 I HAVE BOUGHT THIS TV (55EC9300-UA), against my better judgment. My wife liked it very much in the store, so I gave in. She was very seriously ill. Very unfortunately she passed away in December of the same year. So this TV was used for 3 month normally. After that this TV was used maybe a once or twice a month at best. Week or so ago, my son and I was trying to watch the one of his shows and screen went blank. Completely out. I have followed everyone's directions on how to reset and restart TV. NO luck. Called (chatted online to be exact) with LG representative, Went through the same re set routine, and at the end I was given two different phone numbers of local repair people, and was made aware of that my warranty is out (one year) and I am on my own.

I believe in at least if you charge 5,000 for a TV you should have a decency to check what is wrong after not two years. I was told good luck! Total rip off, people stay away from LG at all costs, I have a Samsung TV is 15 years old and Sharp 16 years old, never have even a hiccup. These people are scam artists. AS I PROMISE TO LG I WILL MAKE MY COMPLAINTS EVERYWHERE, and will continue as long as they sell their product in USA.

I had purchased a 5 year in home extended warranty since TV is so big. Called warranty company and they put back on LG who finally sent service guys out. They replaced main sound board. It lasted like 2 days and sound went out again. Same guy came back and replaced main boards and the speakers saying they can short out the board.

Now 15 months later the video is out but have sound. Screen is all black. Called warranty company. They assigned a company who called and will not work on these units. So they are reassigning it now they say. We will see. Called LG. They are not helpful and DO NOT care at all. Service company thinks main board again. In a little over 2 1/4 years I will be on my fourth main panel. DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING LG. All junk. I have a 16 year old Samsung plasma and it still works great. I'll never buy an LG product (UF657700) again going forward. Got three year, no interest financing on my TV when I bought it, so I am still paying for it. Anyways, so my son is playing PlayStation the other day, and he goes something is wrong with the TV... Bottom 2/3rd of the TV is flickering. Now, I’m frustrated because I think maybe it's the PlayStation or whatever and nope it's the TV. So I call LG, they're completely useless and give me the number for their licensed tech in my area... He asks what the problem is and I tell him... He's like that is most likely the panel. He needed pictures to definitely see what the problem is, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet on that.

Now, typically if the TV was at an age where I thought it would be reasonable for something like this to happen... I would have zero problem with it and just buy a new TV, but it's two damn years old. No excuse for this. The first year it was barely used. Second year it got at best, moderate usage. If it was on 24/7 for two years then it's on me. I contact them again, and ask what the life expectancy is of their TVs, and get it's five years or more. Then get run around that it's out of warranty so tough **. I'm wondering if I can file a complaint with the BBB... There's ZERO excuse for a TV that costs so much to break 2 years after buying. I will never buy an LG product again, and will advise anyone I know to do the same.

DON'T BUY LG! Purchased this TV (LG 70uh6350 Smart TV) from Costco 12/27/2016. When adding HDMI cable my 27 year old son who knows electronics very well removed the optical port cable for me when we took off the wall so I would not damage it and the port snapped and broke as soon as he pulled on the cable to remove it. Called Costco Concierge service as directed who in turn called LG who told us "NO Warranty" as we broke it.

TV is 6 months old with 3 year warranty! Spoke to supervisor at Concierge who called them back with no better results! Basically told me I'm out of luck. Called LG myself and they already had me in their system and they were VERY RUDE and told me no warranty, basically go pound sand! Took receipt up to Costco store and they were shocked at store level. They wouldn't even send someone out to look at it. Costco store manager told me to get estimate to repair and they would either pay for repair or refund. Estimate is over $500 and they have to replace the main board. PROBLEM IS THEY ARE ALL ON BACKORDER WITH NO ETA!

I have found out since then that this is a problem port for this TV as there are no boards available and even the refurbished boards are out of stock. Closest LG replacement TV is $800 more and I will not pay another penny for another LG TV and most likely won't buy from Costco as they told me this is a one time accommodation! ON A 6 MONTH OLD TV WITH A 3 YEAR WARRANTY! REALLY! LG IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY WHO DOESN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! DON'T BUY LG! If not for COSTCO standing behind them I would be stuck!

Now to fix the TV, they are asking that I buy a part which is about half the cost of the original TV. WHAT CRAP!! This is a recall situation. Based on what I see, this part goes faulty very often on this TV and many people have complained about it. They just need to recall the TV and pay us our money back. The part that's bad is a Main board which is about $400 on the web and mostly not available anywhere. The ones that are available are probably refurbished as they want you to send the faulty part back to them. I bet they know how to fix it and that's what they do. Fix it and sell it at $400 to the next guy. Very Very disappointed in LG. Life's NOT Good!!!

For Christmas 2016, I decided to give my Family a television upgrade for Christmas. I was on my second LG smartphone and had planned on an LG television, so that I could take advantage of their Miracast technology. In an effort to "WOW" my family, I went all out and purchased a "NEW" 65" 4K, 3D Smart TV, Model 65UF8600 on November 2016. On December 9, our television was delivered, I registered the television with LG on December 15 and a few days after that, my screen went green with other undesirable effects. I contacted LG who in turn contacted their authorized repairman. The repairman had me text him some pictures of my TV screen and he determined it to be a faulty main board. We decided to wait until after the holidays as it was a busy time for both parties.

By the first week in January, the repairman replaced the main board and said it's not uncommon for these to fail, even on new merchandise. We were pleased with the result and watched 3D & 4K titles for the next few months. In the middle of May, my wife and I noticed that our television display was "jumping" in and out. We tried disconnecting everything and just running the apps to no avail. I used LG's troubleshooting guide on their website and reset the television but it was still behaving erratically. On May 23, 2017, I contacted LG for a repair, who in turn, contacted the repairman. When the repairman arrived, he believed it might be the main board again and ordered it. We waited and waited to be contacted, but we couldn't get a hold of the repairman.

After numerous attempts, I finally got through to the repairman and he said the mainboard just came in. The repairman replaced the board but the problem still existed. He informed us that it was the panel and would have to order one. After multiple failed attempts to contact the repairman, I finally got through on July 7, 2017. The repairman said he no longer had the repair as I was no longer in his portal (whatever that means). I logged in to LG's website and someone closed my repair ticket, stating that the "Status" was "Cancelled" and "No Repair Service Needed"??? You could imagine my anger, but I let some time pass to cool my head before I called LG.

I called LG that evening and the person I spoke with said I cancelled the repair. I told her that I never contacted LG since the initial work request & that this needs to be fixed. She looked into it and said the panel was approved but was on a 2-3 day back order. She said she would notify the repairman and get back to me on Monday. Nobody got back to me on Monday, so I called back on Tuesday, but of course, they never heard of the person whom I spoke to, so I had to start all over again. Not feeling that I was getting anywhere with this tech, I asked for a supervisor.

The next person I spoke with was an executive supervisor and I had to explain this all over again. She asked me why I thought it was the panel? I told her the repairman said it was the panel. So now, she tells me the panel is NOT approved and it's up to tech support to approve it. I told her I was halfway through my warranty already and the television only worked half of that time. She said she would reach out to the repairman and find out what's going on.

Fast forward to today, Saturday, July 15. Still no contact from LG or the repairman. I sincerely believe that they are just going to let my warranty run out. I complained to LG that they should replace the defective device or refund my money. I received an email that stated "... a refund or replacement for our TV products is unavailable. The best we can offer you is to have the unit repaired." But as you can see above, a repair is also no available. Every time I call LG, I spend a significant time listening to...,"Thank you for your patience. We recognize your time is valuable and we're working hard to personally respond to your call as soon as we can." That'll be the LAST LG product for me and I'll be sure to pass this along to anyone who may be considering any LG products in their future.

The main board fails abruptly in a year or two. Convenient since LG provides a 1 year warranty. I emailed them and they informed me that sometimes parts just fail. That's true but when it is the exact same part failing early in its life in hundreds if not thousands of cases, it is not just a random part failing. It is a poor, flawed design. LG also informed me that they do "stand behind" their products. Sorry, they do not. Check out the "authorized" LG repair shops who get their parts directly from LG. A new board is $300-500. That's a joke. Plus labor.

This model TV at Best Buy is $699 right now. I have a degree in electronics and can repair it myself but any shop, Ebay etc. that has this part (EBT64077102 or EBT64077103) is sold out. I will NEVER, EVER buy another LG product. Total farce. There should have been a recall on this television and/or a new board offered to paying customers. There should be an option for zero stars because that is what LG deserves for the quality of this television and their lack of admitting that this main board is flawed in its design, AND their horrible treatment of what had been a loyal customer.

We bought our 70 inch tv had it for thirteen months then black screen and only sound. Called LG TV. Out of warranty after jumping through hoops. They said they would extend the warranty and repair tv. Again more hoops. They replaced almost the entire tv just keeping the shell and legs using two repair men which it probably would have been cheaper to just send a new one and the customer would have been happier without all the mess. It has been 9 months now and tv is starting to go to black screen again and still has the sound sometimes for 30 seconds or sometimes hours you never know. Called LG. they are so sorry.

Do you want to know where to repair, no why repair and spend money on this one that has already been repaired? This is not the first problem I have had with an LG product. I thought it was just a fluke, 3 drawer refrigerator light stayed on with door closed, cooked the hamburger on the top shelf, the finally replaced it after they put a different light in as they knew they already had a problem with other units and the doors in the freeze have broken a couple of times. I called just to let them know that I will never buy any of their products, which is unfortunate the tv has a wonderful picture when it works and for a smart tv relatively easy to use, but I cannot recommend any of their products.

Where are the appliances that last for at least ten years, everything is made to be obsolete. I'm surprised they haven't had a class action suit or recall for products but only the attorneys win in that situation. Just buy a different brand if that is your choice. It is not surprising that they don't participate in ConsumerAffairs site, I know some people have had good luck maybe mine just sucked. Sorry had to vent.

I purchased 26 new 39 inch LG TVs in January 2015 for my restaurant for $10,140 ($390 each back then). As of January 2017 six of them had gone bad and as of now, May 2017, 10 of them have gone bad total. After paying a local technician $250 to look at them all, he determined they all had the same problem, bad LED STRIPS which caused them to have no picture. I only had a 1 year warranty and since they were all 2 years old I was obviously aware that they couldn't be replaced.

I called LG to see if they could help we with anything at all as far as parts replacement (which cost them pennies as they're made in China now and I would pay for the service), or a possible discount on 4 more new ones, or anything at all LIKE A REASON THEY ALL WENT BAD SO FAST! I asked if LG could do anything to help and the answer was NO! After years of buying LG only in all of my restaurants for the past 15 years I've seen the products go to complete junk. Also I can add additional tech savvy tools and equipment that can upgrade as well as compete with the hi-tech televisions. I enjoy that hi-tech flexibility because it makes me feel as though I am being given a choice to select hi-technology versus being forced to contend with it and get frustrated. With HD channel service my picture is clean and crisp offering a nice color of brilliance. I have two HDMI ports, a standard yellow, white and red video sound output and coaxial connection abilities. It has capability to connect to a sound bar as well. I also have the option to select various sound types such as bass, music, theater and the like. I've read a lot of comments. Some good, some bad. Makes sense. If your TV hasn't crapped out yet, then your experience has so far been good. 3 years ago, me and my wife moved in together and bought a new LG LED TV. For the size and price, it made sense. We didn't bother doing much research, which we would come to regret.

Last night, I paused what I was watching to run to the bathroom. Came back, and the screen was black. It has audio, but no picture. Putting a flashlight up to the dark screen showed a faint screen. Burnt out backlight is the issue. This TV is not even 3 years old yet. Best part about it, is that me and my wife work ridiculous hours. We don't watch TV in the morning at all. Only at night. Point being, is we maybe watch the TV for 3 hours a day, 4 the most. We're at work the rest of the day. When she's off, she doesn't watch TV much. I do, but I average a day off once every 2 weeks. So you can see how often we DON'T use the TV. And that's a big part of my point. It's only 3 years old, but according to average usage, it's more like 1.5 years old, maybe slightly more. And the screen already burnt out.

At the moment, my Sony Flat Screen TV is sitting in its place. It's a TV that I've bought a little over 10 years ago. Not an exaggeration. It was expensive when I got it, but ten years later, I've never had to repair it. And when I was younger, there'd be days I'd watch that TV 10 hours straight, with an average of probably roughly 6 hours daily. So when comparing usage of the two, let's just say the LG is still in its infancy, while the Sony is a grandfather! Yet it's the grandpa that still outperforms the infant. That's insane to think about when comparing these TVs. Yes, the LG HAD a good picture, and maybe the best sound quality for a HDTV I've seen. So yes, while it's working, it's a good product. Until it stops working.

I will never buy an LG product again. Paying over 1000 dollars for a TV used sparingly, only for it to ** the bed after 3 years of minimal usage is pretty unforgivable. None of this review is exaggerated. We barely use this TV, and yet in under 3 years time, it goes out. I had virtually no problems with it prior, and was a happy camper. The one side note though that I will say is that about 6 months ago, I noticed that immediately after turning the TV on, the remote was essentially frozen for the first 25ish seconds. The TV remote that is. Right after turning it on, you essentially can't use any TV buttons (volume/settings/etc.), until the TV basically catches up with itself. I doubt that's related to the burnout, but an issue nonetheless.

Honestly, I don't even know if Sony makes TVs anymore. But I will find out in the next few days when we go to buy a new one, because LG won't see a dime from me again as long as I live. Again, to the people out there writing good reviews, have fun while it lasts. Because in the very near future, you'll be singing a different tune. And that's coming from someone who barely uses his TV. Good luck if you're an avid watcher/gamer.

LG you need to quit ripping off hard-working Americans with your crappy LCD TVs. If you can't build something to our standards or expectations keep your garbage in South Korea. My whole nightmare started at Conn's which is another nightmare story in its own. In 2014 I purchased a 70LB7100 70 inch LCD / 3D / Smart TV. Hey LG why do you state these TVs are smart? The TVs are far from smart and the idiots who design or build them are even worse. I paid $3000 for this boat anchor 3 years ago. 13 months from when I purchased it had the LCD screen just crack on its own. Internal cracked screen from heat. Hey LG have you ever seen DVD players or cable boxes, or any other electronics that tend to get warm or hot? I imagine you probably make some of those as well. Because the one thing that those players or boxes have in them to pull heat out of the unit are small blower fans.

Since the warranty is up and a month later this happens is just crazy. You people are a horrible company. Fans in your crap TVs will help with what happened to me. I 100% will be spreading the word on your company and the crap you people sell and rip others off with. Never will I purchase anything from South Korea or LG ever again. And next time I fly over or to Incheon International Airport I plan on bringing your trash that you sold me back to you and you should and can dispose of it in your trash. It's your garbage not ours. These corporate idiots need to be investigated and they need to be held accountable for their crap they are selling here in the US. I think they should be arrested as well. They need a serious class action lawsuit against them right away. Because if not they will continue selling crap to us hard-working Americans. WHOEVER READS THIS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM THESE CROOKS!!!

After an inspection of the TV they never returned to complete the repair. It has now been three months with many calls to LG and they cannot or will not find a technician to complete the repair. They will not acknowledge responsibility for their contractor (who will no longer take calls from LG or me). I just want this piece of junk TV, which broke during the warranty period, fixed.

My LG TV (43UH6100-UH) is not even a year old when the first oddity I experienced was being awoken to it turning on last night, which by the way, is pretty creepy. As I went to turn it off, I noticed that channels were automatically changing, creepy again. My second experience was this evening. I was able to watch tv for about an hour or so when I noticed the enter button would not work. I tried other buttons that worked, while a few more didn't. I tested the batteries and put new ones in and the remote worked except for those few buttons. I tried googling an answer but nothing worked, so I then contacted their customer service department. The representative was really no help at all. She told me to try a few things but nada.

She then told me that there was no way to troubleshoot the remote but since I had the tv less than a year, I could be sent a new one within 7-10 days. :( I am very disappointed in the fact that I am still paying for the tv, have had it less than a year, already experiencing problems, and LG's customer service is as poor as its product. When will companies start caring again about the honesty and integrity behind its products and its customers instead of taking people's hard earned money for their gain? I advise anyone not to buy or support the LG brand.

I'm definitely going to buy this brand because the LG from my experience has been a great t.v, and when I buy something that works I usually am attached to that brand for life because I like products that may cost a little more but they make it worth the extra cost for dependability even though you do have to change the batteries. Good TV. No real problems for 10 years. It's not a top of the line model these days. Failure is not an option! I have been looking at the new TVs. I have also been reading the reviews. There is a rash of failures out of the box on all the low end (cheaper) TVs. A failure on a unit that is still under warranty is bad enough. I hate wasting time because they don't test the units before it leaves the factory. Some of the failures are probably due to shipping, fragile cargo, long distances. Another problem with the new TVs is that they are selling the same old tech with a new NAME twist only. It's still the same LCD TV, but has a different backlighting. LED, OLED...sharper with far more pixels per inch, but cost $1000s.

Samsung has been reselling their units like this for awhile, but they are some of the most dependable on the market. Monitors are being called TVs now, but you need a DVD, computer, or some other device. It doesn't have an internal antenna to watch Over The Air programming or a BNC (cable connector). Streaming is also important to people. Manufacturer's make deals with streaming companies that aren't always in the best interest of customers favorite streamers. The worst thing, in my opinion, is that some don't give you a remote. You have to use Smart Phone. It is far easier to write program for the phone than produce expensive hardware. The last of the problems is most important. They are making TVs with internet access. You won't get the same choices or options that you will have with a laptop. That's why I still have my 10-year-old LG TV.

In less than 4 yrs my LG 55LW5600 TV stopped working. Main board went bad. Repair by LG would cost over $400 so I looked up online and baked the main board. It started working indicating some bad soldering issues with the board that gets fixed when heated. It stopped working again in a few weeks. This time I ordered a board from LG authorized parts vendor (Encompass). LG doesn't make these boards anymore but they are selling refurbished one. It's been over 2 months and the board seems to be always out of stock. No ETA given. So I paid $150 and bought a used board online. I got duped as it didn't work. $1700 on a TV that lasted less than 4 yrs and cannot be fixed at reasonable cost is ridiculous.

Before you spend your hard earned money on LG TV remember these things. LG won't acknowledge widespread problems and offer free/discounted fix. LG discontinues parts in less than 4 years so you cannot fix your TV and forced to buy a new one. LG doesn't keep their software up to date for more than two years. I couldn't use many apps on the "smart" LG TV after about 2 years, for example Amazon Prime. Most TV reviews that you find online are written immediately after purchase and that's why they are mostly positive. Instead, look for long term issues with LG TVs and you'll find tons of complaints that are out of proportion with other expensive brands. Stay away from LG.

After having had my TV for less than 2 years, the picture went out (side note: I should have done my research right then-and-there, as it looks like this is a common occurrence among Samsung TVs). I called and spoke with customer service who first told me 'my warranty covered the damage plus parts and labor'. I proceeded to happy dance! In the next breath, she quickly changed her tune and told me it would cost $310 to buy a warranty. Wait. Huh? "You just said my warranty covered it." She was so hard to understand - and, quite frankly, frustrating – so I decided to sleep on it and call back the next morning.

The next day, I was unlucky enough to get an equally confusing and aggressive rep on the phone who just wanted my credit card information. He was not able to answer any of my questions and continued to repeat the same lines from his script, 'just give me your credit card information and we'll get a rep out to fix your TV'. FINE! I admit, that was a poor consumer decision but these CS reps are train to break you down, I swear! 5 days later, the day of my appointment, the LG technician called my cell phone and said he had to order a part for my [very standard] TV. Now mind you, I had taken the day off of work to accommodate their 'very convenient' appointment window of between noon and 5 pm. And now this guy tells me he needs a part and won't make his original appointment?! UGH!

Luckily for him, I had my guy stay home and deal with it the next day. According to him, the tech walked in, took 1 look at our TV and said, 'well, this part won't fix it. It'll be another $585 for another part. I tried to tell your girl but she wouldn’t listen'. That’s total bull, on so many levels! Consumers, you do the math... $310 for the 'warranty' + $585 for another 'mystery part' = I could buy a new g.d. TV! So, I'm out $310 PLUS had to buy a brand new [NON-LG!] TV. I was very happy with it - until this past December, when I was looking forward to watching Christmas shows and it just completely quit. You can turn it on, and the panel lights up, then goes off. But nothing - totally nothing - on the screen. No picture, no sound, no lights. I am retired and have no money to replace. My TV is my only source of entertainment. I am so disappointed with LG. I also called them and was told that for a one time only special offer, they could fix for 331.00 for parts and labor. I could buy another TV for that - IF I HAD the money to do so.

I sold TVs and always considered LG to be one of the best. I keep seeing that there is a class action suit, and I want in if so. I dislike going against a company that I thought so highly of, but I feel cheated and kind of robbed too. If they knew this TV was a bad product, why did they sell it this way? Doesn't customer satisfaction and good quality mean anything anymore? Doesn't anybody care anymore?

We purchased a 60" LG in March 2016. To put in a warranty claim you must first ring Manila in the Philippines and then you are put on hold and asked a series of time consuming questions and given certain tasks to do like remove the large TV from the wall mount to retrieve information from the back of the unit. A 60" TV is very heavy and hard to remove from the wall without damaging something. When you finally give up with the warranty claim you then must order parts from an international importing company into South Australia and then have the parts posted out to you if you are interstate. LG don't go there!! BAD BAD BAD!!!

They do not have an app that makes sling tv or Directv work on their TV's without a smart box. So why pay the price for a smart tv when a regular tv works the same way?

I called your customer service number to ask about a problem I am having with my LG TV, model 47LB6300. I have owned this TV since 5/2014 and it has recently started blinking on and off when I try to watch it. It has happened several times and recently does not return to an operational state but continues to blink, like a strobe. I have looked this up online and found that this is a recurring problem.

The LG customer service person was one of the most uncaring and unaccommodating I have ever run across. She did not seem the least bit concerned about the issue, suggesting a solution or perhaps just apologizing for the terrible product quality that LG has provided in this TV. I have owned a few TVs in my life and all of them have worked well until they were replaced for newer technology after 10-15 years. Two and a half years of use is not a good quality product and LG should be ashamed to have this kind of quality issue. I will NEVER buy an LG product and will share this experience with my friends.

I bought this tv less than 3 years ago and now I'm going to have to replace it as all I have is a black picture with sound. This seems to be a common problem with this tv. I called LG to see what they are doing to compensate buyers of this tv and I was told there is no service recall for this problem and the rep was unaware of any complaints. There are a ton of complaints about this problem and most consumers are being told it cost more than the tv was to purchase to repair it if they could. This tv has a track record of losing the picture right after the manufacturers warranty expires so if you didn't purchase an extended policy when you bought the tv you are totally out of luck as LG claims there is no problem.

I have also found that there is a class action lawsuit against LG for these defective tv's which I will pursue and I recommend anyone who has experienced this issue to join in. Also so they will have to be accountable for selling an inferior product. Now I know why they are so reasonably priced as they know you will have to replace it in a couple of years and if they keep the truth about these tv's a secret we consumers would probably buy another tv from them thinking it is an isolated incident which it clearly isn't. I am one of the lucky ones with an extended warranty so I do have someone coming to check it out but have already been informed that this tv is almost never repairable. I'm hoping if it's not repairable that LG will provide some compensation for me to purchase a new tv which WILL NOT BE AN LG!!!

A week later on Nov. 11, I haven't heard back from them so I called them and was told that the part is not available but it has been ordered and will arrive in Cebu on Nov. 24 and will probably be installed the next day. No one called or came the next day. I called LG on Nov. 26, 28 and Dec. 1. NO ONE answered their phone at all. Mind you this is a toll-free number. It makes me wonder if they're still in business. This TV is on a tv stand, in a single person household, no children, no pets, nothing that would potentially cause any damage to the tv. I emailed the company, they gave me a list of things to check (still no picture!) and an 800 number to call. I called the number, and the only thing they can offer is a "protection plan" for $350 to see if they can fix it! I bought a new TV in the meantime, a 50", for that price! They were absolutely no help, and clearly there was a defect in the tv itself. So unless you plan on buying a new TV every 2 or 3 years, I strongly recommend you stay away from anything from LG!

So I bought this TV thinking it would be great. After 4 months of owning the TV started "light bleeding". Dark images had light bands through them and same with very bright images. So being that I am well within the warranty I called LG who to my surprise tells me I have to contact a local authorized repair center, the first one they provided were so unprofessional they did not answer their phones and did not respond to voicemail. I call LG back and they provide another "authorized repair center" the gentleman who answers tells me I live too far and he will not come out that I would have to take the tv to him. Meanwhile, LG is basically threatening if the unit has physical damage they will not cover anything. I was not about to move a 65 inch tv. So I call LG and ask for a manager and poof like magic I get them to send a tech to my house.

The tech gets there and runs NO REAL TESTING ON THE T. V but places a white and gray image takes pictures and says, "I obviously see the light bleeding. I will send the pictures but I have seen worse and LG doesn't replace the IPS Panels much less replace the TV." At this point I get nervous but he tells me he will submit his pictures and do his best to get it repaired and awkwardly advises, "To let you know if they replace a panel and it is worse they will not change it again." Mind you NO REAL TESTING. This guy was there 2 minutes and left so fast he forgot his factory remote and had to come back for it. Also I had sent LG images with the exact same screenshots.

So I call LG today and guess what they tell me, "The IPS Panel is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty even though it is a manufacturer defect." I had to ask for a manager. Got an insane runaround. Finally spoke to a very polite and kind lady who told me she is going to try to get the replacement approved and I am pending it call back from her. I advised that what I really want is a refund and she explained LG will not approve a refund unless a repair is attempted. Mind you their tech told me once they change the IPS once that is it. They do nothing after that. FAIR WARNING: DO NOT BUY LG TVs!!! STAY AWAY!!! I am currently crossing my fingers just to get a MANUFACTURING DEFECT fixed. I paid a little over 2000 for this TV so it is not a cheap one and this is how I get treated. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!

Called LG and was informed warranty was only 12 months too bad but if I pay $350 they will send someone out to repair and the repair is only guaranteed for 60 days. What?! The TV isn't even 2 yrs old however because it was a 2013 model sold in 2014 they really don't want to help. Asked for a supervisor and informed they all went home!! What a joke. Will never buy from this company again.

NOT HAPPY CUSTOMER! My husband and I purchased a 50" LG smart 120HZ Led TV on February 09, 2014. It cost us $849.99. It had nice picture, the sound was a little quiet but we had hooked up a sound bar and it worked great. Last week the picture went out, took it to a repair guy and he told us that it would cost more to fix it than go buy a new TV. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I SPENT $849.99 and this TV has a 1 year warranty and it goes out in 30 months. What is wrong with this picture and I am not talking about the dang TV... Will not purchase another LG appliance, I can't afford to spend that kind of money and not have it last a few years!

There it was. A random crack in the lower left quadrant of my beautiful LG 65 inch 4k LED TV. About 3 inches in diameter. Along with it vertical and horizontal lines running across the entire screen. I called LG to get service on this matter and they insist that there was physical damage. 1st of all, I was gone for 3 weeks on a business trip and no one was home. 2nd, TV sits in a recessed area away from living area. I explained this to them with no relief from them.

Then, I do some Google search on random TV cracks on LG TV (Thank God for Google). Well, there are many cases where the screen just develops a crack. I even found cases where the spot was in the same quadrant w/ running lines. This is not a random incident! Anyhow, LG customer service was horrible and useless. I am now escalating this matter with BBB and will file a complaint with FTC. How can a TV less than a year old develop such a crack? It is just bad quality and LG is not owning up to the standards of the US consumers. Shame on LG.

I bought an LG TV in 2013 and was happy with it until I wake up one morning and all I see is vertical lines and I find out it is the panel. So after various calls to LG Customer support they made me buy an insurance called LG premium repair coverage for $350 and said a technician will come and repair it right away. So, a nice technician comes after 2 days and tells me the panel needs to be replaced which we all already knew and guess what? LG is supposed to confirm with him that it is ok to go ahead with repairs and they just cancel my coverage and charge me $100 diagnose fee on top!

After 20 phone calls, supervisors, technicians and all and 2 weeks without tv, I am stuck with a tv which can only be repaired for $1400. Staff is rude and they do not know what they are talking about and they cannot even spell! I had the worst experience ever with LG Staff! Now, I know that if you buy a tv from LG it is only good for a couple of years, not too long. Mine lasted 2.5 years as I was hardly using it, I guess... Worst choice ever, and if they were kind and knowledgeable you would say it is only a tv, things may break but LG staff's negative attitude makes it a nightmare.

I purchased LED TV in Oct 2014. Before two year vertical linings are coming. Picture is not coming. I called the service engineer. They are telling me panel and T-con board are not working. Total cost of repair Rs.20000 - I crossed check from market. They are saying only T-con board is burn. If company people can change T-con it will work. Now company people are telling me no I have change Panel and T-Con board both.

My question is it joke? In two year I am not going to repair more it. And request you people kindly post these things in review of online sales of LG products. Not here.
