The Self-paced training program is ideal for someone only casually into a training/fitness routine. The program is adapted to your strengths and weaknesses and builds on both. All this without getting hurt by overdoing it.

Love this place. My wife joined and brings me there as well. It’s always very clean. Which is important this day and age. Everyone wipes down the equipment after use. They have trainers that will help you learn each piece of equipment and how to use it to get what you are trying to do for your body results. They're always open for when I can get there on my schedule. You can’t ask for anything better. By the way it’s time for me to get there and work out. Thank you planet fitness. See you soon. I’m on my way now. Temple Texas

We were working out following each order and folks will come in sit down play in their Cell phones and It disrupts our flow and order of workouts. This area should be enforced. And they done clean the area after each use of machines.

Planet Fitness is making it impossible for you to cancel your membership right now. I am only writing from my experience in New Jersey. All gyms were Woodard to be closed on March 16th period. Planet Fitness Normally bills on the 17th of each month. That is what I have read. That is also what is on my statement. Basically, it is obvious that they knew the gym was about to close and said, "Let's grab one more payment on the 17th period. The technology would have been available to not have grabbed that payment." They have said that they are being very nice and proactively putting everyone's membership on hold, so they don't have to deal with it.

Well let's look at the people who want to deal with it. I realize I don't have my membership number. Normally, that is no problem. You go on and change your password and get all your information just like any other business. However, when I tried to do it, the email did not come. A message on the page gave a reason actually a bunch of reasons why it did not come. I did not hit the problem button. It just knows that everyone will have that problem. So, I ask you to ask all of the people who have tried to go in and get their number by resetting their password, if they were successful. I can Guarantee you it wasn't just me. So, since I can't go in and cancel it and person, how do I write the letter?

I have read on a different website that I have to send my driver's license number and the last 3 digits of my social security number to validate my account. You mean to tell me with those 2 pieces of information, my name, my address, my birthday, and my phone number they can't figure out who I am. That may be part of the deal. However, I was sold on the fact that I had all of this website support comet when I sent or signed my contract. By the way I month to month, and this may not even apply to make. I am just concerned for others. So, is it a breach of contract when I can't use their website? That job can be done using the practice of social distancing.

Another form of social distance thing would be the franchise owners having someone to answer the phone either in the gym or at a remote location. This is not being done. Corporate could do the same thing. There is the great old email. This is what cinches the deal. You cannot send an email to them unless you put your account number in one of the boxes. I repeat that period it is impossible to send them an email without the account number. Is this starting to sound like a set up? I don't think it ever said that if you lose this piece of paper that has your account number on it, you may not be able to cancel your membership and any way shape or form Chama until we deem able to take the information and the way we've requested it. I think there is a good chance I will be able to find this, but one had to deal with it right now.

I have read an article in the New York Post that goes into detail with many gyms that are using a similar practice. It appears that New York might deal with them, when they are able to spend the resources. I hope New Jersey or on a federal level this will be taken care of. All I can say is try to get out, if you're not in don't get in, if you have stock, sell sell sell! No one is going to want to join this gym, When they see how difficult it is to get out and a crisis. Everyone with a brain knows it's not easy to get out. I'm not naive comment when I Write this review.

Apparently when I signed up for a year contract a year ago they didn't mention that they would start auto billing me once that contract was over. Now I want to cancel it and they aren't taking phone calls and their website sucks and won't let me login to cancel it that way even though that's what the phone hotline says to do. Basically they are continuing to charge me with no way to stop it.

Due to the corona virus pandemic, I was advised by my physician to isolate myself at home; I am a heart attack and pneumonia survivor. One of the precautions that I was advised to take is to stop attending my gym immediately. I called my Planet Fitness in Evanston, IL to cancel my membership, and was told that I have to physically come into the club to cancel, which I reluctantly did last week. This morning, I was charged for another month's membership! I called the gym, and explained my situation to the manager - Ezra - and he refused to refund the charge! I am retired, on a low fixed budget, and need every penny. I am shocked and disappointed by Ezra's cold and irresponsible dismissal of my request, and will never join another Planet Fitness again!

Plant Fitness has had a promotion up to March 12th, but now extended it through March 16th which I'm sure is because the wasted other peoples time as they did mine. The promotion is "free enrollment" and is advertised on their site as "free membership" and "no activation fee". However, I went to the location near me to get the promotion and I was told that this month would be prorated and the following month would $40 plus the $22.99 monthly fee. So in reality, you don't pay the membership fee when you open your account like normally happens, but the next full month they will take that fee and monthly fee directly out of your account.

This is ridiculous to do to people and made me realize, they must be hurting for memberships for some reason and as I looked around, there was 6 people in the whole gym. But this could cost someone a lot of money when they only expect $22.99 to be taken out and when they include the fee they flat out lie about, their account can bounce and get bank charges and I'm sure denied access to the gym when the payment won't go through. Even the lady on television commercial tells another lady next to her that she got a "free membership with her black card"!!!! Watch out for other scams with this company, if they will do this without a conscience, they will do anything.

Planet Fitness is a total scam! When I signed up for the black card membership through the web on my phone, I remember reading 'no commitment' which meant no locked in contract. Then one day I went to cancel my membership due to a shoulder injury and they told me I would have to pay a cancellation fee because I signed up for 12 months. I asked for the copy of the contract and on the contract they had me for 12 months minimum term. I was shocked, they did a bait and switch. At this point I told them about my shoulder situation and even showed them what my doctor had diagnosed. The manager told me I still couldn't cancel but I could do a medical freeze for couple of months. So without much of a choice at the moment I agreed.

After my 12 month term, I went back to cancel my membership and they tell me there is a $58 cancellation fee because I had couple of months left on my contract. They said because I had the medical freeze my membership had been extended for those months I didn't have to pay. No one told me this. This defeats the purpose of having a medical freeze if they want you to make up paying for it later. I told the Manager Courtney, nowhere on the contract does it state that. Her response was, "Whenever someone has the freeze, we add those months back onto the membership." Complete nonsense! This company's lack of honesty and integrity is truly amazing! They should be shut down with so many complaints going around. This is the Planet fitness on Sawmill Place Blvd, Cols, OH.

A group of people I work out with consistent talk and that doesn’t create an issue...I’m on my cell phone, and working out consistently....what’s the difference. Bags take up space because you can’t sit them on the floor, even under your workout machine...No jump roping. The general manager at PF in Huntsville, AL is rude and harassed people to most. I joined Planet Screwed-me-ness in January of 2020. I stopped going the moment it became apparent they were not concerned with the spread of the Corona Virus. I was charged for February. Then 2 days ago I went in to cancel my membership and voice my concern about he Danger of being contaminated at the facility. I was told I had to pay 39.00 membership fee. Mind you, I had only attended for 2/3 of January. Yet the clerk said, "Pay the fee or we don't cancel." I said fine. I went back today and asked to cancel and noticed they had already charged my card for the 39.00 bucks. I proceeded to demand my cancelation and voice my opinion once again about the spread of the Corona Virus. The Woman totally ignored my question. I continued to ask what they plan to do to warn or at least let the members know they could be at risk. Again she ignored my question. Once the cancelation was done, I requested a paper copy.

In it she had written that the reason for cancelation was that I was too busy and had no time to work out. A blatant LIE!!! She falsified information. Completely downplaying my concerns. Not to mention I was robbed of 50.00 for 1 month of membership. BEWARE of this corporation. They only care about their bottom dollar. So if you're smart, you'll work out at home. And save yourself the aggravation of being robbed. Be aware that they don't enforce their policies. No one is expected to clean the machines when they're done and you often find their sweat all over the backrests and seats. It's disgusting!! So you've been warned. They don't care about your well being. And will continue to charge your account without your permission. THIEVES!!!

I had an annual contract with Planet Fitness. I called to cancel and was told I needed to go in. No heads up it had to be before the Feb 27 in order to avoid another annual membership fee being billed automatically. I also get emails all the time from Planet Fitness but they did not have the courtesy of notifying me of the upcoming annual enrollment fee the way most places who offer annual subscriptions do. When I went in to cancel the person who processed that did not tell me of the upcoming charge I would still have coming out of my bank account. I was very surprised when I saw the charge and emailed the corporate office. They said I needed to contact the local gym. The manager at the local gym says it is a corporate matter. He also said it was embedded in my contract and they had every legal right to charge me for the membership fee.

I really feel like they embed this in the contract and don't give anyone any notice of it in advance intentionally. I'm sure it is perfectly legal but it is not right to bill someone a membership fee for a year knowing they will not be a member. I actually expected it to be refunded but they aren't going to refund that. The manager told me they do not refund. I would never allow them access to my checking account again. They don't have the integrity as a business for that.

Anyway I called today, same day as the charge, and asked to cancel and be refunded. I have a knee injury and a surgeon's note that says I cannot work out. They do not care. I will not use one minute of that annual fee due to injury and they won’t refund anything. Not even a small part. Despite fine print, it’s just not right. They are only money hungry.

Really awful customer service. The only people you can contact if you have any problems are the people at your location. There is no corporate customer service whatsoever. I was originally very excited to join Planet Fitness as my location was located very close to my home and the price was better than any other gyms in the area. Of course that was too good to be true. When presenting their price they listed a 10$ monthly fee with a signup fee which I paid. What I had not realized was in the fine print, which was not even clarified by the man who was signing me up, was a 39$ annual fee 2 months into signing up. When I was charged by planet fitness for 39$ 2 months into my membership I called my store thinking they made a mistake. The woman I talked to told me that I had agreed to this fee when I signed up and that there are no refunds. At this point I was really upset and I started to cry.

I asked if I could please cancel my account so that I wouldn’t be charged for anything else that I didn’t know I would be charged for. She told me that I could not cancel my account online or on the phone. I could not come in at that time because I was traveling. I felt stuck. There was nothing else I could do, no other person to talk to even after requesting someone’s contact information that I could potentially email or call. I feel really taken advantage of. I thought Planet Fitness was a user friendly gym that really cared about their customers, but through this experience I’ve realized they're just like every other gym in that they ultimately only care about your money and will manipulate their advertising for this purpose.

In April and May the club continues to collect funds from my checking. I called the corporate office twice because the area franchise mgr never called. I called the club and was put on hold over and over so I drove there while on hold 15 minutes and walked in and the manager was there! They lied. I stopped Payment from r PF.

10 months later I joined another PF in a different city & state but when visiting my son I went to the Grand Junction PF.... They said I owed them $260. I left messages for the supervisor 4 times! No return call! The club has no record of my cancellation even from 10 months ago. I was supposed to have mailed a certified letter, so I call my current club and spoke to the manager. He said just like the other club.... "Well you are supposed to write a letter but I know you and you will just be billed for the month and then it will be canceled!" This is the scam! I will not be cancelled and the club will continue to bill me!

I went to the courthouse to find the owner of the Grand Junction club! I have to take extreme measures because the managers don’t even see to it that the phones are answered. After signing for a membership and giving away your bank information and credit card they couldn't charge my bank. Luckily they were able to charge me late fees of $15 to my credit card each month. Why they couldn't charge my $10 fee to the credit card, then? They sent me a message about that with instructions to call an automated line that didn't give you the option to solve any problem or talk to someone. I requested help from the web page and the answer is to contact the Cambridge office and talk to someone.

After calling they say that the manager is not at work and I should come another day. They didn't bother to take note of who I was. I said I had enough and I need to cancel my membership and that was a hassle also. You have to go in person but, "Oh, the manager is not here today so you have to come back." After 3 months I paid $160.00 with no customer support or intentions to refund my money or waive the late fees. They stated I signed up for a membership and if you don't pay by the date, you get a late fee. I've been trying!!!! Don't you see? First off, I would like to say that I foolishly had a membership with Planet Fitness for over a YEAR. Planet fitness is a left-wing company that will rob you of your money through their hidden fees. Regardless of what membership you have, they always know how to charge you up the **. To continue, if you show any hints of leaving, they flag your name in a database to alert other Planet Fitness employees and create a maze for you to leave, like giving you “the run around” and act confused on a very simple request to cancel or even transfer memberships.

As we all know, life gets in the way and sometimes you just don’t have time or money to go to the gym. Well, I signed up for a year contract and finished my year contract. They decided to charge dozens of fees as if money grows on trees. When I talked to them about it, they then told me that I have an outstanding balance and they can also drain my bank account. Imagine working a minimum wage job, and on the day you get paid over HALF of your small paycheck is sacrificed to a “health club.” I’m consulting with LegalZoom to get my money back from these disgustingly evil cretins.

Second, they are all about non-judgment but have no problem judging every damn thing you do. They are hypocrites, they even judge people who judge themselves! They call you this special, made up word “lunk.” WTF? The founder of planet fitness has core beliefs that they must operate similarly to the mafia, or government. The founder and everybody he has suckered into working for him believe that money is all that matters. They just want to side with whatever opinion is popular. Hence the reason why they pretend to be “non-judge mental.” People aren’t stupid.

They have stolen over 1,000 dollars from me, will try to serve you candy/pizza to keep ignorant people fat, and call you a ** lunk on your way out. Planet fitness is just one of the many enemies of the people, and they need to be taken out. If you value your money, your integrity, and not having a headache. Do not choose planet fitness. I feel sorry for everybody who is still suckered into their scheme. Truth be told.

TOXIC VENTILATION SYSTEM - 20th ave, 86 St. Brooklyn, Bensonhurst P.F. Gym. AS OF 1/2020, FROM ABOUT AUGUST 2019, when walking in to the gym, the ventilation system is apparently bad. The air is heavy and hot. It’s caused by dirt, dust, mold, mildew and bacteria in the a/c system and on the evaporator coil too. When the gym opened up this location a few years ago, the air was light and breathable. It’s very hazardous for your health if you consistently breath this air into your lungs. It has been stated to be suspect cause of allergy, asthma, copped, emphysema, chronic headaches, etc.

The staff has been informed. The manager has been told. The district manager, Krystal **, has been informed. Her answer was (months ago) that, "Yes, we will do high dusting soon" - (whatever that means. But never does it anyway). And their attitude is that we will get to it when we have a chance. The maintenance came one day and fixed aerobic machines instead of the a/c system. They have to clean out the dust and change all filters on the a/c system as well as possibly replace a the evaporation coil. It is unhealthy to do any form of aerobic exercise in this gym and breath toxic ventilation dust and other harmful particles into your lungs. You’re looking at aggravating or creating, asthma, COPD or worse. This is a serious urgent matter and should be addressed as of yesterday.

If anyone from Planet Fitness replies to this post and says not so. I say, go down there to 2007 20th ave, in Brooklyn, right on the D train stop or B1 bus line and: smell the air outside the gym and then smell the air inside the gym and it gets worse as you go into the gym away from the desk. They can deny it here on the web, but if you go there, you will see I am right. (Many people have complained or quit the gym because of this.) Do you want to workout in that? Don’t support this profit oriented owner and lack of regard for the health and well being of other people. There are several other gyms on 86th street within 5 to 10 minutes of there. I strongly suggest you check those out 1st before going here. This place is not worth the $10 or 20 in my opinion. But if you really must join, insist they fix the ventilation system 1st and read every single line in the contract and cross out what you don’t agree to.

Staff are very friendly and polite BUT for the past 6 years I have had complained for several dozen of times the limited TV programs that we can watch-out of the 15 Giant Screens only one is really on news/political commentary- CNN, The rest? Two on sports and 2 on Infomercials/HGTV. The annoying part is that 4 of these TV screens are only of Duplicate (double) programs.- Meaning Two Channels are playing the same program in the entire one block (there are two blocks so a total of 16-18 TV Screens are there fronting the rows of Elliptical, Treadmill Machines.

Staff including the manager have the same answer- They cannot change the channels. Only the corporate office can. I am therefore d inviting whoever are in the corporate office to visit the gym between the hours of 4-6 AM and and you will understand where my frustration is coming from. My request is just very simple - provide us a local channel (2,4,5 or 7) so that we will know what is happening or at least being updated on the weather etc. Is that too much to ask. I have called several times, written an email but all of these pleas fell on deaf ears.

At first I was frustrated that the classes were held at different times daily. I've been going to other gyms many years with classes at the same time each day. I have gotten over that inconvenience for the sake of the gym being near my home. Now since the new year another inconvenience has been put upon us. Which is the decision of Planet Fitness 30 Minute Circuits to be less times each day! These classes were twice a day now the single class is once a day and some held in the evenings only. Only two classes during the week are before 2PM. Many of us are seniors so driving in the dark is not an option. We have a terrific Trainer plus the gym is kept well. I would appreciate knowing the reason for this inconvenience, thank you.

I think this place has one of the worst greeters I have ever seen. You walk in and almost never someone says hi, they are always doing something else or they are just rude by nature. Sometimes I even see managers on front and they don't even say hello, so if managers do that, then what do you expect from other employees.

Also the bathrooms are most of the times, not always, dirty, filthy, you walk out and see 6 people standing up front chit chatting like they are out on the street and no one around to see if bathrooms are decently clean, at least make sure there is toilet paper and paper towels, at least. People from other gyms always tell me "this is what I get for joining a cheap club", I don't think is true, we just need workers that care about their job, that is all.

Besides having my name, address, DOB, and credit card account, they want access to our personal bank account and pin #, so they can, and will, pull funds from it if they can't get it from my credit card. They justify this in case my credit card expires. Really?? No other institution has the gall to expect unfettered access to a person's bank account, especially in this day in age where hacking into this kind of data is more common than not. I've been in the gym game for over 30 years becoming a trainer, etc. A while back, I was doing my gym thing in a facility and planned out my next machine not occupied almost 5 mins. While in the middle of my sets, another member arrived claiming "not being done". She did not tolerate "mixing sets" as many do with multiple users on the same device. I continued ignoring her comments and allowing breaks for her to complete her work as well. As I spun around to collect my gear and move on, she stuck her hand out as some kind of means of stopping my action.

In the oversensitive climate of Planet Fitness, she complained I had offended her hand with my shoulder. Bringing it up to the staff resulted in listening only to my reaction to her reaching my shoulder instead of applying the same sensitivity policy in contacting me. It was the slightest of contact to her as "intimidating" the same way a piano player would brush a keystroke. All the staff and corporate comments amounted to "leaving my military habits" at the door. Nobody was aware of my work for many years as I kept that demeanor hidden from many conversations. I've been in the gym game for over 30 years and have had many facilities become jealous over members approaching me for guidance instead of their paid staff. Multiple facilities have posted searching for counter help, to which I responded and discovered it was suddenly filled prior to my application. Until I left, that "umbrella" was constantly thrown at me despite tolerating the harassment.

After enough tormenting of "remember we are not recruits" without provocation, I finally told them "of course not, you don't have their character". I took away all of their "ammunition" further informing I was also a Drill Sgt at the time, a Master Fitness Trainer, and was attending further classes for my PhD. Their posture switched from prodding for my reaction to complete silence and staff level complaints of "intimidation".

They finally found a way to remove my membership by skewing a complaint. Instead of handling her contacting me without proper cause, they viewed my action as an aggression to her. It is something like complaining of spraining her wrist over a slap that did not phase me. Supposed video was reviewed that I was not also permitted to scrutinize. Upon entertaining enrolling into another far removed facility, I was further informed them hesitating to join me as another incident may occur. What a total load of garbage and harassment on their part. I am going to inform as many as possible of their unethical and illegal activities.

You do not have my permission to charge my account without my permission! I tried to cancel a week ago, but no one was helpful! I went to join the Planet Fitness today and was told that I could not pay via credit card, cash or check. The only form of payment they will accept is by you providing your account and routing numbers to your checking account, so they can go in each month and withdraw money from your account. Now, I know some people find that a convenience, but I'm not at all comfortable with people going in and withdrawing from my checking at all. I'm fine with them charging my credit card because credit cards are fully insured; the same is not true with your checking account. I'm not 100% sure if this is a Planet Fitness national policy or just an independent company that owns a number of franchises policy.

National Fitness, a subsidiary of Argonne Capital owns and operates 58 of the Planet Fitness 1800 locations, and the one I was trying to join falls under their umbrella. I find it very frustrating that I want to join, but my cash (legal tender), check or credit card as a form of payment is not good enough for them. They say that they are the "Non-Judgment" people, yet they seem to not only be judging their members' trust worthiness by only accepting access to their bank accounts as a form of payment, but they also seem to discriminating against all other legal forms of transaction. I unfortunately will not be becoming a member because of their unscrupulous monetary discrimination and poor/wrong Judgment!

Canceling a month-to-month contract should be a lot easier than they made it. First of all their website is useless and you basically have to go to your "home" center to do ANYTHING. So I go in to the center and cancel on the 16th of the month thinking I did it on time since I get billed on the 17th. I asked the employee if I had any other dues or will I be charged. He says no, and gives me a document saying that my last billable payment was the previous month. The next day I see a charge from none other than Planet Fitness, and I'm dumbfounded.

When I speak with the manager to inquire she says that their billing cycle is from the 10th-17th and that I should've canceled before the 10th. I'm like wtf! Why wasn't I told this or reminded of this. I canceled after a couple of years of being a member (since I moved), and of course they expected me to keep track of their billing cycle. Are you serious!?! And I even ask them if I can still go for the last month (since I payed) and they basically gave me no promises. The manager flat out said yeah you basically wasted your money, and put the blame on me for not keeping track of their system. No shame at all and she didn't even offer anything in the form of help. This was terrible service.

I asked the young man about my billing and I was annoyed about the back and forth, and so was the worker. I explained my situation and told him that I will just cancel my membership, he informed me that I need to come in to cancel.

I went in after work, apparently the same young man was working and canceled my membership on the spot. He didn't ask me anything to try to encourage me to stay. However another young lady did come and ask me, "what's the problem," I told her that they was taking extra money out of my account, she immediately went on the computer to see what's the problem. She informed me that my account, had the wrong information for my bank account and if I would fixed that situation they would reimburse me my the late fee. I told her that I cancel my membership already. She informed me to contact her manager Shannon on Tuesday the day after Labor day, because she's on vacation.

On September 9, 2019, I spoke to Shannon the manager, I explained the situation to her. I informed her that, even if they refund me the late fee, I'm okay with that. Shannon informed that they couldn't do that, because they couldn't get to my primary account, so they charge me a late fee. I informed her that they did have a resourceful account to take the money out of. Shannon also, informed me that it was my fault, because I didn't put the correct account down. SMH, No one never make a mistake, however once again, Planet Fitness you still had a resourceful account to take the payment from obviously. After sending the cancellation letter and them saying they received it, I noticed I was still being charged 2 months after I sent in the letter. I called to ask what was going on and they said I had late fees that were due of $45.00. Haven't I been charged enough? Apparently not. This is supposed to be a judgement free environment, but I am NOT convinced. Every time I enter the 30 minute workout room with people who're already in there they immediately leave the room within 5 minutes of my arrival. This has happened every time. The women PF members are even more inhospitable. They appear to hate when men come around because they move away every time a man comes around to workout. Members there aren't friendly at all except the PF desk employees who greet you when you walk in the front door.

On the flip side, however, I love their Black Card Member's 50% off in-store drinks; 10% off when you shop PF products online; I have no annual fee (I didn't even have a startup fee); no contract; being able to access any PF gym worldwide as a BCM; and allowing guests to enter with members without charging them a $10 fee per visit after their first visit like Pivotal Fitness, Inc. does its members who brings guests. First off is misleading advertising $10 a month prices to get people interested, then selling them on a contract for a year with more fees on top of it. Read the fine print on that one. My second major complaint is the difficulty to cancel your membership and early termination fees. This company has a network that allows you to access any gym in the country with their black card membership, but you have to cancel from your home location, or send a certified letter so that they have a signature on file.

In this modern age where a bank will approve me for a loan online in seconds if I qualify, this business practice leads me to believe it is part of their money making scheme. Because someone cancelling my gym membership fraudulently is a big concern of security ("sarcasm"). The idea being that people will be too busy or too far away to take the time to cancel, and just say, "it's only 10 or 20 dollars and just let it keep rolling." I know I have done this myself and I only have a 30 minute drive to the place. I will say that the gym itself has gotten slightly better as far as equipment over the years. If they made it easier to cancel and removed early terminations fees from their contract I think this would be an OK company.

I think PF should charge an additional renter's fee for people who feel like they want to exclusively own equipment and cannot share as they are demonstrating an entire series of YouTube videos - For those who want to showcase in peace, sell them a VIP room - just for them, so they can do their thing undisturbed.

That way they don't have to be forced to notice the other members who took the trip to PF to take advantage of the machines too. Makes you feel like you pay for the experience you get, so little for so little. I guess what did I expect? Rude clients need to be educated. It could be as simple as a sigh that reads, Please be courteous and limit your time on our machines to 5/10 during peak hours. Or they should just charge a VIP prima donna fee to allow for renting out equipment so that rude users don't have to bother themselves with the minor details that other paying clients made a trip all the way to PF to use the equipment also.

Finally, I was able to get my membership cancelled a week later only to find it was within the seven day billing cycle for yearly fees and was charged $50. So I’m paying for a year's maintenance for a company I no longer belong to. And instead doing the right thing and refunding money to a loyal customer of three years, they are keeping my money. I responded that this is a judgement free zone right? Her response was that it's supposed to be but it's not. I said if that's the case it should be reported to management. She told me that it is management that the comments are normally told to. I let the matter go, but today I experienced it for myself. Where one well liked customer had a derogatory remark about someone and made it to the the manager and another employee, and they all did nothing but laugh. I know that this is human nature. When diagnosed with cancer and having to undergo surgery and radiation treatment I contacted P.F. to put a medical hold on my account. This was not done after speaking to (3), yes, three individuals assured it would be and monthly fees were, of course, continually taken from my account. With being ill and unable to do very much including work for three months, I didn’t pay attention until I noticed that they kept trying multiple withdraws from my acct overdrawing it. I was charged late fees in addition to the monthly fees. This could have all been avoided if they put the acct on hold as I was assured in the first place. I mean, who lies they have cancer!

Regardless, I stopped in several times after the fact to cancel my membership and I was told I can’t because there are late fees. I refuse to pay these fees since I’ve been paying my membership fees and not using their facility and they never froze my membership as requested to cause this problem. For the last few years they take the yearly and monthly fees and I can’t use the gym nor can I cancel? I’m reporting this to the BBB and checking with the FTC if there are multiple complaints as well. I sent emails to customer service and they pawn you off to your home gym and it’s back to the beginning of the vicious cycle. It’s a losing battle but I’m sick of it now! This location outside of Sedona in Cottonwood just opened in January. Very clean, 24 hrs, great deals and perks; I am shocked to no return what other gyms on the same street in the area charge! I totaled up what it costed me to join (1 dollar when it opened!), plus 42 annual fee, plus membership, and literally what I’d pay to join the other place and the first month is more than an entire year at PF!!!! WOW and what is even more astounding is that this gym is way cleaner and nicer than the other gym that charges almost 50 a month, with a contract, and expensive join fees. Even at the upgraded cost at PF it’s still remarkably less than their monthly fees. Plus worse equipment over there! Who can beat this? Probably no one. Good Job Planet Fitness. A plus!

Every location I have been to has been awful. The staff doesn't know what they are doing or what they are talking about. Management is unorganized. Corporate is absolutely no help when calling to complain. I was given false information from two stores FIVE different times. I was told I don't exist in their system but they continued to charge me monthly. When I did cancel it, I filled out the information but they said they would have to get a manager to do it the next day. I called two days later after receiving no confirmation, only for the manager to tell me it was taken care of. I use my credit card for everything so when I finally checked my bank account they were STILL CHARGING ME.

When I called to complain at either place I was never given access to an owner and was told I could write a complaint letter but that the manager would most likely be the person to open it and not relay the information. Corporate's answer to everything was "You can speak with your home gym." Which obviously wasn't working. Fair to say I am now out hundreds of dollars and have tried reporting both locations, especially after finding out they were ILLEGALLY CHARGING my friend's bank accounts as well. This place is a scam! Go somewhere else.

Stay away from this place in my opinion. The customer service is horrific both at the Lakeside location (Lychelle **- manager) and Corporate. Planet is crazy if they think I'm going to pay for a service then be denied access to the facility. I signed up on May 17th 2019 and have been denied access ever since because there was a problem (alleged) with my payment method. The payment went through fine with a late fee of $15 which Planet refuses to waive. There should never be a late fee with auto debit. So obviously there was no problem with my payment method as Planet claims. This is a scheme.

I have now canceled my membership and will never return and never recommend this ** place. I still can't access the facility's even though I have paid $37 for my first month. What a great way to treat a new customer! I will do a charge back since I have been denied use of the facility's since I signed up even though Planet accepted my money and refuses to refund me, what a rip off. I will be filing complaints with all consumer agencies I can find both State and Federal. All this ** had to do is grant me access and waive the late fee but Planet refused to do either. I'm not going to allow Planet to charge me a ridiculous late fee every month on an auto debit. Corporate ripoff.

That should be enough of a red flag there. But just case you think you are willing to do that and take that risk know this. They charge a yearly fee on your membership, on top of charging you monthly. Well if you don't cancel in time of that yearly fee, they will still charge you that yearly fee! Isn't that great! It's not. Just do yourself a favor and do not join this gym. I REPEAT, DON'T DO IT!

I went for a tour and the representative asked me for A LOT of personal information such as to see my drivers license which he typed all of the my info into their system for a profile; also my email address, phone number and also to stand in front of a camera to for a photo and I would have also had to sign a waiver. This is all before I could even take a tour of the facility. I was waiting for him to say next “bend over and cough....”

I asked why they needed all of this informations and I was told that they needed to know everyone in the building. I think that this experience was the worst that I have had at a gym EVER. It was horrible and just one step short of a “pat down” before taking a tour. I don’t like feeling like I’m being interrogated just to take a tour to see if I even like the establishment at all and maybe decide to spend my money there. This speaks volumes to me about how future experiences would be for me. I would rather pay more than double at another gym than to feel like going through TSA at the Airport.

I was assuming that that the 'start up fee' and 'annual membership fee' were the same thing. So I just joined thinking the $50.09 Start Up Fee I was charged was also covering the first year's Annual Fee. That was a totally wrong! I'm now seeing I'll be billed the $39 Annual Fee in about a month. So total cost for one year is $50 + 39 + (12 * 10) = $209. That is more like $17 a month. Rotten trick they played on me. I was misled about how these fees work. If this was an more honorable and upfront organization then I would have seen it spelled out in big bold font that the cost for the first year would be $209. Sigh... I was tricked. The membership contract is in EXTREMELY small print. You need a magnifying glass to read it! Very few people will have the patience or willingness to read through it. I think it’s designed to prevent you from fully realizing what you’ve signed up for.

Here is the cancellation policy: "To cancel your monthly membership and stop the billing of the Monthly Membership Fee on or around the 17th of the month, the club must receive written notification delivered to the club by the 10th of the month either in person or preferably via certified mail to the club address listed above. Please note it may take up to seven (7) business days for any membership or billing changes to take effect. In order to cancel your membership prior to the billing of the Annual Membership Fee, the club requires written notice delivered as described above no later than the 25th of the month before such billing. The Annual Membership Fee is fully earned when received and is non-refundable".

I'm still trying to figure out precisely what window of time I have to deliver this cancellation notification (should I want to cancel). I think it’s designed to be complicated and confounding to discourage and prevent cancellations. Another item from the contract: "In accordance with applicable law, if our first attempt to collect any fee under this Agreement is unsuccessful, we may make additional attempts to collect from any/all payment methods you provide us, and a $15 service fee will be applied for each instance we submit or re-submit such payment request and it is returned uncollectable for any reason including, but not limited to, insufficient funds, expired or cancelled payment cards, overdrafts and closed accounts. We are not liable for any fees charged by your financial institution in the event a payment request is returned as uncollectable."

I think this means if your bank account is overdrawn then PF can recklessly continue to collect over and over again, as many as many times as possible, increasing your balance due by another $15 dollars each time. PF does NOT allow you to pay for a year in advance. I'll bet the reason is to give PF the opportunity to hit you up with these late penalties. I'll bet a significant portion of their revenue is from this late fee collection scheme. I've been a member of other health clubs over the years and have never seen this type of policy before.

Bottom line is I’m not giving this organization any benefit of the doubt when it comes to trying to get my money. I’ve taken some precautions such as paying with a bank account I set up just for these membership fees (Simple bank) and paying with a ‘Virtual’ credit card account. I set these accounts up as insurance to prevent PF from continuing to take money from me if I ever cancel. I will have to be vigilant to watch the activity of these accounts to make sure they used to pay for what I agreed to pay for. I will also have to make sure they are never overdrawn or I’ll get hit with the sneaky late fees.

I called the corporate headquarters in Hampton, NH and they gave me the run around. Said that each Planet Fitness is independently owned and they could not help me, that I would have to deal with Conway Planet Fitness and that they are not responsible for their (Conway) policies or their staff or management’s actions.

Original Review: I have been trying to cancel my account for 4 months and they keep billing me. This morning they told me that even though I called to say I was cancelling and then dropped by and told them, that I failed to sign a cancellation form. Well guess what? They didn’t give me a cancellation form to sign. I haven’t been to the gym in several months because my father became ill and then passed away. I am so sick of having to deal with the ignorant staff that work at the front desk. It is their fault my account wasn’t cancelled back in February. And now they are billing me another month!!! Because I didn’t cancel by the 10th... in person and didn’t sign a cancellation form. They did not give me one to sign and I am the one who is being penalized for it.

This is 4 months I have been trying to cancel and I did go in and cancel in person. This morning they said that I didn’t turn in my card and that was why they hadn’t canceled my account. No one asked me for the card. One excuse after another why they keep taking money out of my checking account. I talked to my bank this morning and the person I talked to informed me that that is why they don’t accept debit or credit cards and only accept checking account information, because they can get by with continually taking money out of your account. Sneaky SOBs.

Once I placed my soiled clothes in my bag I closed my locker and immediately realized that I forgot my key on the top shelf. There was a young woman who was leaving the locker room who I stopped and asked to have someone come downstairs to cut my lock. I took a quick shower and waited near my locker for assistance. The young lady returned, said she explained to the man (**) at the front desk that I needed help and didn't have clothes on. He told her that I needed to complete the paperwork upstairs and the front desk and get the clippers (plain site of people on the street and those checking in).

I walked passed the weight area to hear laughing and seeing people gesturing to each other to look at me. I then had to walk past the cardio area, then upstairs to the front desk. I ask for the clippers and was told he couldn't give them to me, that I had to complete paperwork and wait for another employee to return from lunch so that he could clip the lock. I ask, "Then I am I up here?" He responded that was procedure. It was humiliating to be seen by so many people wearing only a towel and flip flops. I've never experienced this anywhere. I had this same scenario about 6 years ago at the Jamaica (Metropolitan) location and someone came to me while I remained in the bathroom, hidden from the public.

Despite having my severe insecurities about my body I mustered every ounce of dignity that I had to expose myself. As I type this to you in in tears. This should not have taken place. I have yet to hear from there management office. Someone from their social media account reached out to me only because I placed the incident on a Google review. I was shocked to open the document and find my digital signature on a document very much unlike what I had been presented to read and sign on screen at PF. This version clearly states that $39 will be charged every year in April! Had the company been honest, I probably would have signed up anyway. Bait-and-switch is not an acceptable way to do business. Had I been a young, part-time/low-wage worker like those in PF’s target demographic, the unexpected charge could easily have overdrawn my account. Do not trust Planet Fitness.

The DM, Rebecca ** also lacks customer service skills as well as the owner @ Marathon and I believe his name is Mr. **.

On 3/19/19 I had asked TJ, the RUDE GM lacking knowledge for tanning bed 1 or 3 and she stated, "You will get bed. 2." And I told her she is really RUDE, CRUDE and INCOMPETENT. I got home and she cancelled my membership for being rude as they already don't have enough members. Corporate office also could care less because the gyms are all franchised. The Attorney General in Ohio will tell the proper contacts as I did file a complaint concerning Planet Fitness of Copley as they practice unethical business practices. Why would I care about Planet Fitness cancelling me as I am at a great gym for $20 a month and they offer much more and Yoga Balls too. IF YOU DONT TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMER, SOMEONE ELSE WILL! I call the location to find out they refuse to cancel over the phone, it must be in writing, so I sent the cancellation letter in the mail. I then called my bank and put a stop payment on the $10 Planet Fitness charge just in case they did not honor my request. Sure enough, they attempted to charge my account the next month, but the charge was sent back. Success, or so I thought..

Two months later, I notice a $20 charge from Planet Fitness on a different account, then looking through my past transactions, I noticed another $20 charge from the previous month! I reported the unauthorized charges to my card issuer, and had to cancel the related card. Everything is fine when you're paying your monthly dues and not rocking the boat, but as soon as you want to cancel your membership, they will do everything in their power, no matter how unethical, to continue charging their monthly fee. Or in my case, they will not only continue to charge you, but charge you MORE once you try to leave.

This club is all about the money and fees and not about customer service. Beware of any fitness club that will only debit your checking account. (They do this because it is much harder to get $ back and it is a direct line to your funds once you approve it.) Credit card companies help you when you need to challenge a charge on your account. My personal experience comes from trying to cancel my membership online or over the phone and I could not. You have to go in to do it. I was out of town and went in as soon as I got back and learned that my account had been tapped for a $39 annual fee.

This fee is not one they say anything about in the new club sales pitch. They do tell you about the $1 sign up to fee to get you to join and the "only $10" a month. I had not been using the facility for months and when I talked both to corporate and the local club, neither would return my fee. Oh by the way, the yearly charge comes with no pre email or notice alerting you to the fact that the fee is coming out. The company is not concerned with a customer leaving happy/satisfied and maybe returning at some point. The bottom line, there must be some other options out there.

I signed up over the app after seeing the "no commitment" advertisement they had. I signed up in January of 2018 and paid the $40 yearly fee. I was charged with the $40 fee again in March because this is their billing cycle. I tried to cancel in March, but was told I had to pay the cancellation fee of $60. If you look at the very bottom of the advertisement of "no commitment," it states "commitment fee may apply." Ha. This would be hilarious if it didn't cost me. I said whatever, that's fine. After doing my taxes in January of 2019, I realized they never actually canceled me. I had been paying $10 a month.

I submitted an Attorney General complaint requesting they charge me the $60 cancel fee, but reimburse me the difference of the $90 I had paid from March to January for the monthly fees. Never heard back. I went in to cancel January 21st, as I had signed up January 18th and it had now been a year, to cancel without paying the cancellation fee. Immediately I was greeted by name by the front desk employee, which is probably because they recognized it from the complaint. He filled out the paper until he got to my reason for canceling and told me there would be a cancellation fee. I told him it had been a year, he told me it lags behind a month so I'd have to return between February 18th and March 18th. This was a huge inconvenience, this store location is so far from me and they don't let you cancel over the phone. But I had no choice and walked out.

On March 1st, I was charged with another $40 yearly fee. I called in wanting to know why, and explained I had until March 18th to cancel. I was told this is incorrect, and I had to cancel after January 18th. I explained that I tried to, and gave a full description of the employee that told me this. The man on the phone recognized this description but still told me it wasn't refundable. I was locked in for another year, despite trying to cancel three times, and I haven't even used this gym for 12 months now. I blocked these charges with my bank and will hire a lawyer if needed. Do NOT sign up with Planet Fitness. Pay the extra money for a more reputable gym who won't lock you in forever with them, refuse to cancel, and charge you fees for no reason without warning!

Midweek around Feb 25th or so I left my wallet in the bottom of my locker. I went back about 3 hrs later advising the desk what had happened and then went back to the locker where I had left the wallet. It was in use. I went back several times during the day and could not get access to it. Over the weekend someone turned it in. When I picked it up the desk person said there was no money in it which was no surprise to me. Everything else was there but I had to cancel my credit cards, VA Health Card, Retired Military ID and so forth. On Monday I went to work out. A different desk person started apologizing to me saying I should have looked in "the box" meaning the box where stuff left behind is thrown. I took this to mean that this was something she was supposed to do but didn't.

No one knows who left it at the desk or when. Basically, it was left in the box where for 48 hours anyone work had access to it. Another desk person told me a few days earlier when I went in around 8:30 pm to check if it had been found, he didn't seem to know anything about it but said if it had been turned in it would have been put in the safe but he didn't have access to it. Apparently, management does not trust her subordinates. That situation raises the question if it was turned in on an evening or midnight shift what is the employee supposed to do with it? It makes no sense to me.

Something like a wallet should be handled much differently than a missing comb, gloves or sneakers...but apparently not. Someone had to be working when it was turned in but no one knew anything. There was no log, no chain of custody. The manager could have checked the security cameras and MAYBE picked up on something. The timeframe of events was not all weeks...just a few days.

I was very upset and left a non-threatening poster in the men's locker room. Basically, I thanked the "thief" for turning it in but added if they needed the $80 to feed their family or a domestic animal, I'd have gladly given it to them. I suggested that he cancel his membership and go elsewhere. On Feb. 27th I received an email with the cancellation form attached saying I had violated policy. So the victim was kicked out and the thief is still a member. Go figure!

In order to cancel a 12-month membership, you must wait until the 12 months (365 days) are entirely complete. If you cancel even a day before the 12-months are complete, you will be charged a $58 cancellation fee! If you wait 12-months and a day, you will be charged for the next month ($22 in this case). Buyer beware. It is not possible to cancel a membership at the 12-month point. This fact is not outlined on the website nor in the contract. Planet Fitness artfully dances around the subject. I didn't see the guy who had been there since I arrived so I started taking the weights down. I had taken three weights off when the guy shows up and said he was there. I said please don't tell me you are using both machines at the same time when it is so busy and people are waiting on it. He said no I went to get water so I said fine I will wait over here.

I tried to show him I wasn't filming him and that in fact I was submitting while I waited for a machine. I explained to him this is the last exercise I need to do and don't want to miss it when someone gets up. He called me a racist (he was **) and said he was getting management. When the female employee came over she was one that I complained to Tyler about who said she didn't know how to turn up the fans. She without hearing my side started accusing me of filming this guy and called me a racist.

When I tried to explain to her she further insulted me. I noticed at that time my flashlight was on. My Motorola phone if you move it around turns on the flashlight without my knowledge. I tried to show her but she continued to accuse me of being a racist, filming him and harassing him when all I did was stand by the trash can in front of the cycles to wait for the next available machine. Then she started telling me she was going to write me up! I am not in a position to take this kind of abuse from your employees.

This is the second incident with this girl and I will be seeing a lawyer as I went into the parking lot and threw up from being wrongly accused then talked to the way she did. Accusing me of being a racist. I go to an all ** acting school when there are 100's in Atlanta I could go to. She accused me in from of other ** members there and now my safety is in jeopardy because they don't know me. She called me a liar as well when I said the weights are left on stations all the time when people get through with it after she said I should have known someone was using it still. How can you justify this treatment of your customers? Tyler the manager was notified through Facebook and although I understand he had time off I would think incident where a customer tells you they are throwing up from being so upset by treatment of a staff member would warrant an emergency.

My Planet Fitness seems to have short term memory. They tend to forget that they take out money from my account each month and then put down that they didn't take money out of my account. Then when I do pay the late fee even though I already paid for that month they sit here and forget to put it in because apparently I didn't pay a month a year ago yet 5 months ago when my account was frozen because they said that I had late fees. I paid for all the months that apparently I missed. I guess this one slipped through them over a year ago.

After thinking about the experience I had with Planet Fitness I realized that I was judging the entire business on my personal experience with a particular worker and not the whole company. I was very angry that Cindy treated me so rudely and with such hostility that I wrote the review- but Cindy is just a worker and not Planet Fitness. Therefore, I revised my rating.

    Original Review: Jan. 4, 2019

My husband and I have been members off and on for a few years. We have the membership where my husband is the primary but he can bring a guest each time. I am the ONLY guest he ever brings. I filled out paperwork waivers as the guest and have been a regular with my husband. We only go a couple times a week and we only stay less than a half an hour so probably not getting our money's worth but still enjoy going. Well, I carry my phone with my debit card and credit cards inside. I can't fit a lot of IDs so I always opt out of having my license on me because I have lost my license in the past so I rarely carry it.

Whenever I go into my BANGOR, MAINE Planet Fitness, I am most often greeted by young men who know me by sight. I always give them my name when my husband scans in the membership card. I am never given a problem about this since I do have my credit cards and debit card on me with my name which I have shown in the past with NO problem.

Tonight I go and CINDY asks me for my ID. I show her my credit card and she looks at me as if I am a criminal. She says really loud in front of a group of other customers, "THERE ARE STRICT ORDERS IN YOUR CHART TO SHOW ME A PICTURE ID!!!" OK, I understand a little bit of asking for an ID even though they know me AND I signed all the waivers but to deny me admittance because I have a credit card and a debit card WITH my name clearly on it is being totally ridiculous. I am not some underage teenager trying to buy alcohol. I was treated publicly as if I were trying to do something criminal. I am merely trying to exercise and THEY - CINDY - know me. They have seen me a hundred times. CINDY is taking the ID rule to extreme and missing the point of asking for an ID. As a result my husband and I will be taking our business elsewhere as will our son.

Was at Planet Fitness today and informed the guy at the desk about needing help with the machine and he said he would come and help once someone else comes to the desk. Well, I exercised for 20 minutes and he never came. But on my way out there were more customer service attendants at the desk. I guess he just got too busy to remember to come and help me out.

Even though the free weights go up to like 70 lbs you can still get in a good workout. Also, people really need to start reading their contracts before they want to cry about paying $30.

Planet Fitness boasts about how it's a "judgement free zone" with no hidden fees. But they take out more than you owe for your membership before your membership fees are due and do so without warning. Isn't that EXACTLY what hidden fees are?? Bringing this to corporate attention, they do nothing about it and basically say it's not their problem. There are much better gyms to go to. Don't waste your money here, they practically Rob you blind. They also charge you $8 for tanning lotion samples that are free at tanning salons. Do not get lotion from them as they charge about 20% more than they are worth and are sold at the actual retail price at other stores and tanning salons. All around ripoff that sounds like a good deal until you have to pay your life away for the hidden fees and overpriced extras.

I brought my two grandchildren ages 12 and 15 years old, on Saturday night December 29, 2018. I was told that I only could bring one guest at a time and that they at least had to be 13 years old. I asked since I was already there would it be okay for the 12 year old to sit in the front because he was old enough to sit and I would keep an eye on him but was told no I could not. I did asked to see the policies in writing and it did state what the young lady was stating.

First, I was told something totally different and I'm a member and I feel the young lady should have took more consideration and allow the 12 years old only for that one time to sit in the front and made clear to me that she will never do it again. But instead, I wasted a whole trip and this was not a good experience left with my grandchildren.

This place is a joke, managed by a liar and while I would like to put the issue to rest, since they refunded me all dues and the enrollment fee paid these yahoos at Planet Fitness keep inviting me to re-join the gym that I left due to extreme prejudice and lack of corporate oversight. So here’s the story: I was working out when a racist started yelling at me, the staff was notified, and the man left.

While their employee and other gym members apologized, the manager (JC) insisted that we were both at fault. He presumably made this decision based on his own racist attitudes. There were at least 2 other gym members that attested to seeing the man verbally attack me (without being provoked) and one employee that said he was resigning over how the situation was handled. As a result, I decided to end my membership immediately and secure the monies paid to this place; after several complaints, including statements from people who were there, didn’t know me, and contradicted everything J purported, I was refunded every dime.

Bottom line: avoid this place and the covert racism that exist with its management. This includes all Planet Fitness organizations, not just this one operated by the JFZ company.

I reached out to the corporate office and social@planetfitness.com, and was informed that “each club is independently owned and operated.” This means that they don’t care what goes on at their locations, which bear their name and image. Therefore, I do not want this organization to advertise their low fees and “judgement free zone.” For every unsolicited email that I receive, I will re-tell the experience of discrimination that I encountered.

I'm quitting PF if this music problem doesn't change and as of now, I exercise outside whenever I can, but hard to do in 0 degree winter weather!

THE MUSIC IS TERRIBLE!!! EXTREMELY DEMOTIVATING, TAKES AWAY FROM MY WORKOUT EXPERIENCE AND IT'S STERILE, COLD, AND DEPRESSING... I feel WORSE from the music ALONE at end of workout. Of course I bring my own music, but my earbuds often can't drown it out because it's jacked up way too loud most of the time. Also difficult to wear those anyway when lifting weights. When I've talked about the music issue, the typical response is that " corporate makes that decision" implying that it's the way they want it and it won't ever change.

They dont care about very real and good customer suggestions about this one thing. Vary the music! I'm a paying customer and should have the right to not have the poppy, same sounding crap from only ONE streaming station forced down our throats. The unfortunate employees dont have a say either in this. It's a CORPORATE issue. If PF Corporates care about their people they would at least compromise on this instead of going on this "cookie cutter" "one size fits all mentality" regarding music played and refusing any change to it. Not all of us are like sheep liking the same one thing when it comes to what we put in our ears!

I have been a member Planet Fitness for over a year. Back in March of this year my credit card info was stolen. So every place that had my credit card on automatic payment I had to update. When it came to Planet Fitness I decide just to cancel the account because I had been there in a while. Can’t remember who I talked to because it now October.

Around the same time I dropped my phone and broke it. Bad luck I know. I got a cheap phone with a different number until this month October when I could afford to get a new phone. Today I get a text message saying I’m pass due on my bill. I call that number on the text message I explained my situation to the person answering the call and the manager. They said they are only the billing department all they can really do is take payments and updated forms of payment on the account. To try calling the store.

So I call my local store and Brittany answers the phone. I explained to her my credit card info got stolen and I canceled my account back in March and I’m confused with this whole situation. She states I never canceled my account and owe over $150. I explain my situation again and she states “I’m not trying to argue with you. There’s nothing I can do.” So I asked to speak to her manager she explains she’s the highest manager there’s no one else I can talk to. I think to myself really the highest up manager is answering phone calls? But didn’t say that. So I ask what ways did they try to get ahold of me other than my phone?

She said I think email. I search my email from planet fitness only one all of 2018 from PT is about a free hydromassage back in February. So I said with my phone not working I would think with you saying I’m over 6 months behind someone would email me and maybe even regular post office mail me. She said I was emailed but I clearly wasn’t. She again she the thing about arguing and there’s nothing she can do. I’m so frustrating with this situation. It has still not been resolved yet but I guess I’m going to have to pay it. Even though if I knew I was a member all that time I would have using my account.

All in all. The customer service is all handled at the store level. Therefore talking to a manager is just the person that answers the phone. So if that person doesn’t want to help you there’s nothing more you can do. First time this situation happened to me but enough to give PT customer service 1-star review. Stay away. Get everything in writing especially if and when you try to end the account.

We are only a couple of weeks into the membership and already we want to quit. Sure...I could sign up for the black card as well, however now it is the principal of the matter. I am not going to give a company that lied to us, more money...

They should have been honest up-front. Because of lying, anytime anyone asks up how we like Planet Fitness, we say we do not recommend them. (They also don't have a full range of gym equipment - they are missing machines for certain workouts). Now, my husband doesn't want to use the chairs (he has a bad back and that was the main reason for going with Planet Fitness) so now I have to take my showers and get ready at the gym instead of before going to the gym so that forces him to use the chair. (I don't even like using public bathrooms or the dressing room at a department store.) We will definitely be looking for a different gym when our membership is up or will just look into buying a bench, a few weights and a TRX strap and just play tennis or something for cardio. We're not bodybuilders so we don't really need the use of a gym and all of the heavy weights and you can walk around the block instead of on a treadmill.
