I love the way it breaks down how we think about eating and our habits and how they are formed and changed. I like how we are breaking down goals into tasks that are attainable. The coaching is a great way of reinforcing what you are doing. The way they present your calorie intake is also very simple to understand.
This is what we love to hear, Cale! At a time when so many things feel complicated, we want wellness to be simple! Congratulations on all of your hard work!

So I was soooo excited to sign up for Noom. I spent over an hour answering all the zillions of questions, I provided my payment information and I was ready to get going. When I attempted to download the app, at the VERY END of this lengthy process, it was THEN that Noom told me that their stupid app is totally incompatible with IPhone 6 and simply will not work. This is because you cannot download IOS 14.4 or more recent versions on an IPhone 6. Period. Locked out. Unable to use it. Do you know how many people still use an IPhone 6? Is this stupid or what? So THEN I have to call and cancel my subscription. Don't waste your time unless you have a newer IPhone because it is a waste of your time.

I no longer have access to listening to the articles as I have to just read them and I don’t understand why. I’m also wondering why there isn’t an option to view weekly data on what I have eaten, how much I have exercised, my steps, etc., so that I can analyze my progress better and make adjustments. At the very least, I thought my coach would have access to this data and give me feedback. Instead, when I ask questions, I get very generalized responses but nothing specific to me. I would assume a coach would reach out and say things like, "I noticed…. Considering trying this…. Etc." The positive, is that the Noom app has pushed me in a space where I hold my self accountable, and the articles are extremely helpful, and I do feel like I am making progress because of Noom.

Great app. Great psychology. Haven’t lost a single lb and have been doing this for a month and a half. That being said, the tools are great, the encouragement plenty, the logging necessary. The fact that the all links with Apple Watch is helpful. If it could link with other apps like My fitness pal or Sweat. That would be helpful too. Overall I’m satisfied with the experience, it has just led to zero weight loss for me.

Every update makes it worse. IT are useless; standard responses are all FAQ and don't work. Things from free apps aren't available here. No way to go back. Just one screen during a lesson; you have to begin all over again. You can't add your own recipes without going through a seriously convoluted set of measures, and even then, they disappear. In fact, all the gains you've made that are motivating disappear regularly except your weight tracking. It's ridiculous. Original app logo was bright yellow sun, new one looks like red sperm.

The app is different and I think that’s a great thing. The psychological component is what most need and are not finding in other apps out there. I don’t really understand the book coins other than something they doesn’t have real value except for positive motivation, maybe? There are many foods within the app that makes logging easy but there are still lots missing. Overall, I think it’s a good app- curious where my weight will be at the end of my subscription and wondering what happens if my goal is not met? Is there a money back guarantee?

Noom gives you the strength and ability to continue even if you have a day when you overindulge. It empowers you with improved food awareness. Its coaches and group are also there for you. When I started with Noom I was not sure what to expect, but I have learned so much not only about food, but so much about my relationship with food. The mini lessons are easy to follow and very helpful. I always had a love/hate relationship with food and have always been overweight. Noon has helped me better understand that no food is bad, just must be eaten in moderation. I log my meals for accountability and the coach checks in with me and shares resources to help me. Of course Noom is only a tool and we have to do the work and commit, but of all the things I have tried to lose and maintain my weight, this has been most successful and I recommend it 100%.

This program may help some people but I find it very silly and infantile. The articles talk down to you and the group chat boards are ridiculous. Grown adults posted about how proud they are of themselves for eating an apple instead of a cookie! Come on! It also encourages unhealthy choices- Lean cuisine meals and processed foods. Not to mention the sheer stupidity of having a participant count calories for lettuce. Additionally the create a dish option breaks down the actual components so instead of listing a soup in the daily meal log it lists the components (1 raw zucchini, 2 raw garlics)- instead of “zucchini soup”. Really dumb. The program provides accountability but that can be found along with everything else for free elsewhere. The personal coach does not seem to actually read my comments but rather seems to just copy and paste prepared links and replies. This really isn’t worth the money.

The psych tips are good. Unfortunately that is the only pro I can give. Weight loss is dreadfully slow on this program, daily weigh ins are frustrating as you are forced to see fluxes versus the week’s loss, and probably most unfairly of all, people are charged based on how eager they are to join, not a set price! I was really upset to learn that the five month plan that I was charged is actually the price for a six month plan for anyone else. That is deceitful and I felt taken advantage of. If you can stay engaged in the day in day out process with NOOM you will see changes. They may be small at first but all those changes add up. I’ve been on NOOM for a month, I’ve lost 20 lbs. and feel empowered. Empowered by the food I select, prepare and eat, by the lack of desire to eat crappy food. I went out yesterday to buy bagels for our church fellowship today. I had errands to run so those fresh, hot bagels were in the back seat wafting into my head. I thought I was going die. They smelt so good. Instead of succumbing to the smell as I would have done in the past, I grabbed the apple and grapes I had washed for the ride and I was fine. Now the smell still haunted me for a bit but I was satiated by all the food I ate during the day. I feel better, I eat better and I know that I can withstand the ups and down until my goal and beyond.

It still feels like a money maker rather than something that cares about weight loss. I’ve heard all these tips. So. Many. Times. From other weight loss apps. From weight loss programs at clinics. From my doctor. From just being a nurse. I think for someone who’s never attempted weight loss this might be all valuable. But for someone who has tried as much as I have and has not been successful, it just feels like you want to dump an entire toolbox on me then expect me to carry the load and perfectly work the tools in my life. Isn't the definition of insanity trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome? You said you were different when you advertised to me. But you’re not. The “science” isn’t good enough here.
The outcomes have such a large margin for improvement. You say people who log their meals have the best outcomes, say this many people have lost weight on Noom, then tell me I’m part of only 3% on the app who actually log their meals? That doesn’t add up. That’s looking at your numbers for marketing, not the benefit of the client or with scientific scrutiny.
If I could make these tools work in my life I would. We need to have availability of human beings who are well rounded in mental health training/medical practice who can think outside the box. And we need them literally walking through this with us. Aside from that, you can’t help me when my child gets sick. Or when I need to rush them to 15 different holiday events. Those times I literally don’t have another minute in my day to use your tools. This society does not allow for one to focus on the self because we just want to collect our fees and go home. If you really wanted to help me lose weight, you’d help me take care of my children.

There is no desktop version which forces you to stare at your phone for several hours a day logging your food, exercise, etc. Between desktop version and the data not transferring from one device to another (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) is ridiculous.
I would also like to add the concept of, "Coaches", is laughable. They never give you straight answers, won't tell you what qualifies them as coaches, and more than once whenever I explained my frustrations their suggestion was to cancel. Great advice right? And don't believe their commercials about using Psychology or Science, there is none of that, just a series of 1-2-3 minute videos they force you to watch before unlocking your next goals. I registered because I saw the ad on TV and I heard you can try it free for a month. I did not get a free trial, I paid three dollars for a one-week trial and after the week they would charge me 179.00 for eight months' worth. You can only use Noom from the app on your device, not your PC. Your time on the app is limited to how long you said you would use it each day, which you only have up to 15 minutes to choose from. I would have opted for more time if it were available for me to choose because I could have kept going with the little health quizzes, they were too easy. You can also log your food and water on their app, which can be done on any number of other sites for free.
The information you plug in to get your plan is limited by the choices available to click on and there are things for sale in the process so you must pay attention to what you are agreeing to. The registration process will ask you if you want to forego the trial and just sign up to make the full price commitment, so do not do it, use the trial to make sure it is for you first. You can do this on your own since you are the one doing the work. When I could not go any further in the process without agreeing to something I did not want to try yet, I clicked out then tried signing in again so I could start the trial. That did not seem right at all by the way.
I went to cancel once I saw that it did not live up to the hype and the price was lower if I chose to continue, then it went to a flat rate monthly fee, but I canceled it anyway. You will be prompted to purchase other things from Noom so please research it first. I did not have the experience I saw in the commercial and the reviews under three stars are true based on my experience, but I had not thought to search for reviews about Noom prior to the registration process. I wish you all success in meeting your goals, no matter what you choose to do. I just wanted to share my experience.

Fast forward to November 11, 2021 and my husband informs me that Noom has withdrawn $179 from our account. A quick bank records search and it was discovered they had also charged us in March 2021. I spoke with a customer service agent through chatting yesterday who confirmed that the account had been canceled as I indicated it had. He could offer no explanation as to why I had been continued to be charged. Initially he only offered to refund yesterday's charge. Mine was with the actual product. The initial assessment told me I would lose 25 lbs in 6 months. A reasonable expectation; however, as you dive deeper into the questionnaire, I was now able to fast track my weight loss down to 4 months… impressive. How is this possible? It only took me three days to realize the insanely inflated calorie totals, such as the 150 calories I was charged for my 100 calorie pack. There were the 175 calories I was charged for a 30 calorie snack. My 2800 calorie-a-day allowance only had me eating 2475 calories, if you figure it all out. The further I looked, I was charged the calorie cost of 2 hard-boiled eggs for every 1 that I ate. It’s easy to understand how members hit weight loss goals, the total intake of daily calories is being grossly shortchanged.

I joined Noom with a goal of losing 20 pounds. Put the app on my iPad and quickly loved the program, and lost 4 lbs the in first week. But, there were several technical glitches with the program: difficulty getting on to different pages, my weight being recorded incorrectly. (Eg. One day it said I gained 8 pounds!!!) Yesterday and today I could not take the lessons because it put me back to lesson one when I should have been starting the fourth lesson plan. Asked for help, instructions sent and followed, no success. Asked for help again, support person explained iPad is not compatible with Noom program. Need an iPhone! I feel betrayed and am furious. Noom needs to put this in their advertising, NOT compatible with the very popular iPad, you must have an iPhone. I had to quit a really good program because of their pathetic technical flaw! Furious.

You sign up for 6 mos - which is fine. But then you start to realize that it is lacking in food/ diet choices - so there’s an extra fee for that. - Then you realize there is no direction for exercise program - oh but wait - there is an extra fee for that.... and so on and so on. Luckily I paid extra for a 1 week trial so I could cancel immediately. If you are serious about weight loss, this is not the app for you.

After gaining over 50 pounds post breast cancer treatment, I was trying to get the weight off. Nothing was working, or it would work initially, like Keto... But as soon as I came off, (it is not sustainable for the long term) I gained all the weight back and put on a few more! I was depressed and defeated. My Oncologist encouraged me to try Noom and told me several of his patients having this struggle were having great results with Noom long term. I was skeptical, but I went into Noom with full effort and determination. I could not believe that the weight started to come off slowly, but consistently.
My cravings went away. I am able to incorporate all foods and learned how to navigate restaurants without feeling deprived. I feel so much healthier physically and mentally! Noom works on the mental aspect of weight loss, which is why it is sustainable and becomes a lifestyle rather than a diet. My teenage daughter was 100 pounds overweight and started Noom after seeing my results. She has finally found the way to conquer obesity forever! She has never been able to stick to diets because they neglect the biggest piece for long-term success... the psychology of why we overeat or make bad choices. My daughter is well on her way with me and we plan to celebrate with a vacation to Hawaii when we hit our goal!
Noom makes keeping track of your eating easy! Noom motivates you to stay on course. Noom has forgiveness when you slip, which we all do, but does not let the slip turn into a landslide. Noom heals food addiction by working on your mental habits related to food. If I could give 6 stars I would. The honest truth... If you commit to Noom and believe you will succeed, you will! Both my daughter and I are proof and we still enjoy life to the fullest.
We can see you've had quite the journey, Lisa, and have overcome some incredible difficulties on the way to your goals. You're an incredibly strong person and we are so grateful that you are part of the Noomily!

I started using Noom a couple of weeks ago. And I will tell you that this is the first time I have been able to lose weight in years. However, one day the app became unresponsive. After spending an hour and a half working with their "Support" people, I was told that I would need to uninstall and reinstall my app...which would DELETE EVERYTHING I HAVE LOGGED AND DONE SO FAR. (My weight loss, my meals, the courses I had completed..which take a long time). How can a company sell a product they clearly know does not work? This is a scam. Stay away from this program.

Noom is a fun program that uses Psychology to teach better eating habits. If you’re easily influenced by the power of suggestion the program will work for you. I enjoyed the daily readings. The advice is good and well written. I lost several pounds. The program wasn’t really enough for me to stay with and lose the thirty pounds I needed to lose. I was very successful with a keto diet though. Your own determination will decide what works for you.
We are so happy you've enjoyed the science and psychology behind Noom! Those are some impressive results! Keep it up because you are doing great!

Noom is a lifestyle change, not a diet. The program promotes mindfulness, and offers about 10 minutes of reading each day, in small, manageable modules. The app also provides food tracking and logging (tracking being an essential component if mindful eating). The readings help one to identify why they are eating, is it really because I'm hungry or is it habit, or emotional eating? Noom has helped me to lose 3 pant sizes and 35 pounds in just over 5 months and I'm still going! Great program.
This is SO awesome, Dana! You are making phenomenal progress, and we are so grateful to be a part of your journey! Great work!

This program is based on psychology and it works. I have lost 50 pounds and I've kept it off for over one year. The food tracker they have keeps me on track and is easy to use and you can also track your water usage. I use the food tracker to check what the calorie count is of my food prior to eating it so I can decide whether it's worth it or not.
We love to hear that you find our food tracker so helpful and easy to use, Sandi! Keep up the awesome work building healthier habits with your Noom family!

I joined Noom after watching commercials on TV and reviewing their Internet Ad. The cost for 4 months paid upfront was $136.36 plus a $49.00 add on plan. The add on was for a exercise plan and menu. Both could have been downloaded free off internet. Nothing special. What I got was not worth it. A few “lessons” pertaining to weight loss dynamics. The support that one is promised is almost non existent. I typed in questions and took days, days to get an answer and the last question two of two I never received an answer.
The food scanner log in is a joke. It has a very small database of foods and you scan your own and as stated “help us in basically building this module by adding your foods.” Then you have a basic weigh, track your exercise all things you can actually do free if you search the internet. I was serious about my program, I bared my pains and I needed the support and groups. BTW I could never find the support group. I tried to cancel 6 days later but they will not refund any of the 4 months. I joined Weight Watchers. A much better and polished program that has a 30 day cancellation fee for starts and 24/7 support that actually connects with you. I'm just two days in and know I’ve made the right decision. My thoughts say NO to NOom.

Noom is a good company in my opinion anyway. They have people working with you to help you through this weight loss program. It's not just a weight loss program, it teaches you why you eat the way you do, helps with training your mind to make positive healthy choices of what to eat as well as how often. Overall, I wasn't ready due to circumstances beyond my control however when I am ready I will go back to Noom.

Noom works because you eat REAL FOOD, not pre-packaged diet food and because they TEACH you WHY. Why you overeat, why you have cravings, why you gain weight even when you eat correctly. Noom explains each of the diets out there: Keto, Paleo, Fasting, etc. Noom explains how sleep, mood swings, emotions, EVERYTHING can affect your weight. Tips and exercises are given on how to plan for weekends and special occasions. It's a lifestyle, not a package you get in the mail with "diet food".

I subscribed to Noom on April 6th (219 lbs.), and I am at 205.5 on June 6th. I am happy with my results. Noom is NOT a diet, as it's more of an education... than anything else. Noom teaches mindful eating: eating habits and the 5W's of weight loss. Noom is a classroom, and I would suggest NOT using this app, unless you are truly ready to commit to it. My goal weight is 180. I am excited to see 200 lbs. coming... I am a believer.

I cancelled my account in March 2021. My card was then charged $139 in April 2021. The only "support" I received was through Noom's chat option. I provided an image of my Wells Fargo account, but was told there was no charge. I was told that I could not remove my card. I was told the only way to remove my card information was for Noom to erase all data. That, of course, would affect my dispute through Wells Fargo. Now I have to go through the process of disputing a charge through my bank and Noom will have access to making more mistakes in the meantime. Worst experience I've had with a billing error with any electronic service. The final chat message from Noom was similar to, "Thank you for chatting with us today...leaving...but feel free to chat again...have a nice rest of your day." Then it ended.

I'm not sure about the negative reviews, though I thought it might have to do with a few excessive treats going unlogged... Nevertheless, I was amazed how in a few days, I began losing near a pound a day. That may not seem like much, but it quickly accrues. I went from 256 to 243 in little more than a week. And then I lost my battery for a couple weeks, still able to follow with what I've learned, but I cant log or learn more till my phone returns. However, I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in losing weight.

Noom is dangerous. And I cannot recommend this for anyone who is struggling with low self esteem or has in the past showed tendencies for disordered eating (orthorexia, anorexia, bulimia). They categorize foods into good and bad using the red, yellow, green rating. This is a big no for anyone prone to eating disorders and it is the gateway for people that do not have an eating disorder to adapt one. Foods should never be categorized this way. This program favors diet products. Like non-fat yoghurt. Or other fat reduced foods. You get immediately rated red if you choose the natural state of the product with all fat included. Which is also very dangerous as diet products are often overly processed and do not maintain all the nutrients needed.
Every day, I was rated as exceeding the red category and I am a naturally healthy eater. What put me over the category was: cream in my coffee, olive oil in my salad, cheese on my salad, nuts in my salad, greek yoghurt (not fat reduced). In order to stay below, I would have had to choose higher processed and low fat items. And salads (which I eat very often) without any dressing, cheese, or nuts. I am not talking about putting pounds of these onto a salad. I usually use half or even less than any restaurant would. It just added up so quickly.
They keep the calorie intake to a very dangerously low level. I was assigned 1200 calories which is way too little for my very active life style (marathon runner). The calories never adjust based on how much activity you do each day. The articles offer nothing new. No support. They have you track your food and your weight every day. The weigh-in in this robotic way is against anything that should happen in a world with so many eating disorder in place. They should have used better markers like how you feel, waist circumference, etc. I cannot recommend Noom. It is frustrating to me that this program does not follow scientific nutritional requirements, health advice, and considers eating disorders when making a generic plan. I never encountered anything individualized for me. The coaching was just stupid and robotic.

I joined in December. The information supplied is very helpful regarding what triggers poor eating habits. Good guidance in how to eat healthy. I was on it for 3 months and realized I had learned enough information to go it alone. Since leaving I’ve continued to lose weight. The issue I had with Noom is the constant calorie counting. I found I did better when I didn’t count every calorie and incorporated intermittent fasting. Overall I think this is a good plan but for me weighing myself every day and counting every calorie became overwhelming. I now weigh myself every other day and do not calorie count and continue to lose weight.

They basically told me have signed up more people than they can accommodate with coaches and they keep closing the ticket for the request instead of filling it. So while I have paid for full service I am not getting it. They are ignoring my request and I have already paid so they don’t care.

After repeated complaints to Noom the 'same' blurb about sorry for misunderstanding - So we are out of pocket and Noom has not accepted responsibility for anything. If a company offers 30 day FREE trial the customer should not be charged the next day. If several company employees inform customers with incorrect information the company should recognise their employees are not trained properly.
