The Miracle-Ear hearing aid improved my ability to hear, which was good. I got the model that's mounted behind the ear and there's a wire with the device that goes into the ear. I've been advised that this was the top of the line model. I'm already deaf in one ear, so I went with the best.

I wanted to try the Miracle-Ear hearing aids and my In-The-Ear ones have made a big change in my life. Their staff members and I had very good interactions. They did their job and I was happy. I recommend them.

I had been to another hearing aid provider but the deal that Miracle-Ear was offering was better. I paid $6,000 for my hearing aids so I got the good one and now I'm hearing better. I'm 72 years old so I'm still getting used to them. A part of me still objects to wearing them but they're a great help. I do a lot of public speaking and I'm in groups a lot so it certainly is helpful for me to hear people even though when there are a lot of people talking around, it still lends itself to some hard hearing. But these hearing aids are the best that I could have so I'm not objecting. I have the one that goes in the ear and on the top of the ear and I'm very pleased with them. I'm also very happy with the service that I get from the Miracle-Ear center here in Bangor, Maine. The reps have been very good. Periodically, they clean and inspect the hearing aids. And at one point, the wire came out of it and they were very quick to get a new part for me.

I saw their free evaluations and advertisement on the local newspaper so I went in and had that. Then four or five years later, I realized my hearing had gotten to the point that I needed some help, so I went back there and was very satisfied. I'm definitely hearing a lot better and my husband complains less about the volume of the TV so it's made life easier. I got the Behind-The-Ear and it's comfortable and seemed to fit well. The customer service teams are very approachable and I feel like I could call anytime if I had an issue. I've had a very positive and great experience with Miracle-Ear hearing. I would definitely recommend Miracle-Ear to anyone who feels they have a hearing loss and could use hearing aids.

I've known about Miracle-Ear many years ago and a friend of mine had them for a while and I knew that if I had to go for hearing aids, they were the people I was gonna go to. And I've been very happy with the Miracle-Ear people I've been working with. My Behind-The-Ear hearing aids work well. I've been very happy with the service.

The Miracle-Ear reps are keeping my hearing up. Miracle-Ear hearing aid is offered with the program in The Labor & Industry claim that I had filled-in in the State of Washington. I got a Behind-the-Ear hearing aid because I only have high-frequency loss and now it's easier to listen to the TV.

Miracle-Ear is fabulous and it's really great. I had hearing aids 20 years ago, the analog type, but they had worn out over the years plus I had lost more hearing as I aged. So they weren't working very well and it finally went to quit. My wife insisted that I check out the newer technology that Miracle-Ear have and my sister also backed that up. She said they’ve been really great. So we went down to the store in Augusta and the folks there gave me a test, and I was absolutely astonished at how well they worked. I got the Behind-The-Ear type with a little wire that comes down. It goes in and has a little kickstand on the bottom that rests in there. However, the price is not easy and I wouldn't have gone for that model myself but my wife insisted that we go for the more expensive one. She told me that it's the quality of life that counts. But I'm glad, it really did make a difference, and that worked out well for me.
The very first day I had them, I went for a walk in the woods and it had rained. I could hear the raindrops dropping off from trees and I could hear birds I hadn't heard in years. It was a very moving experience. I hope they can manage to get the cost down a little bit lower, so more people could enjoy it. There's a lot of cheap ones out there but they're amplifiers. They don’t really have all the adjustable ranges of frequencies like Miracle-Ear wherein it can shift the frequencies. It's like a soundboard that musicians use. And they bring the frequencies that are beyond my hearing capability down into a lower frequency and they amplify that up, and I can hear things that I haven't heard in 20 years. And that’s what sold me.
I always thought my hearing loss was related to working in heavy industry and in working in construction, but both of my sisters work in quiet environments and both of them have hearing loss. Therefore, it's genetic and age. We were all together once in the holidays, and I and my other sister insisted that she check it out. So she did, and she bought them too. All three of us siblings have Miracle-Ear hearing aids. It's a very good quality product and it works well. We get the insurance and they always send the batteries. And I can stop in anywhere and they'd clean and readjust them if needed but I haven't yet needed to adjust them. So far, the service is excellent and it's free, and I love that aspect of it. They really stand behind the product.

I like my hearing aids from Miracle-Ear. I had gone to another doctor but wasn't impressed at all. They wanted everything up front and I don't have that kind of money. But with Miracle-Ear, I could pay them on a contract. Their staff members have been very good and attentive. Any questions I have, they've answered. I pay every month for insurance and go in at Miracle-Ear every three or four months and have them check it. I've been very happy with my experience.

I've been a Miracle-Ear customer for years. I'm on my third pair of hearing aids. I hear better and got the In-the-Ear models which are less conspicuous. I don't like the Over-the-Ear ones. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and were so pretty. Also, they even threw a birthday party for people who were born in August like me and we got to meet other customers. That was very nice.

I've had several other hearing aids these years gone by and none of them worked all that great. The first Miracle-Ear I got was not really great, and I upgraded it to the top-of-the-line hearing aid. The style is the one that fits behind my ear, and it costs $8,000. My hearing aid is good, works beautifully, and for the first time in a good many years, I hear very well now. Plus, Serena in the Puyallup area is a really neat lady and does a very good job.

I got involved with Miracle-Ear at Sears. I've had hearing problems for a long time and have known about the hearing problems. I went with a friend of mine, got my hearing tested and have been with Miracle-Ear ever since. Pat was the person who first tested my ears there. Then, I followed her as she went through the process, got my first hearing aids at Sears and then I've been with her ever since. I have followed Miracle-Ear all the way over at their own place now in Kirkland over at Crossroads, and that's a really easy setup because I go on the bus and they schedule my appointments right around that. I've had two different hearing aids since I've been with Miracle-Ear. The style is Behind-the-Ear, but it goes into my root canal. I've had it ever since, and it did the job. The only problem I've ever had with Miracle-Ear was I've gotten a new system that took me a little bit to get used to it. Other than that, I've had a very good service.

My hearing was really getting bad and I went to Miracle-Ear because it sounded good to me. I've been in and out for a year because I couldn't adjust to the hearing aids. I couldn't hear and it was really loud and scratchy, and I kept telling it to the rep. I got another girl and she tuned them in to fit me, but it seems like they go out. I finally told them that they got to do something with the hearing aids. The rep said she's going to send them back and when she gave me the new ones, she said that I will not get the other ones back. The ones I have now have wires hanging from them and I'm not used to it at all. I'm not pleased. I'm going back to them again because I don't like that the wires are hanging out and I don't hear well at all.
I hope they would do something more because I have the hearing aids now for a while. When I first put them on, sometimes I hear and sometimes I don't. I don't know what's wrong with them, but that is not right. Also, I have to put my TV all the way to 100 to understand it most of the time. In fact, another lady I know had Miracle-Ear and she said I'll never be able to watch TV with these hearing aids on. I did not go back because I'm 80 years old and I've got a lot of other problems, but I'd love to hear somewhat. I'm going back as soon as I get feeling a little better again. It's awful when I can't hear, or I'll hear something but can't understand what somebody is saying.
Other people who had hearing aids say I have to get used to them, and I am going on my second year with them. I've been paying $200 a month trying to get it paid off. $6,000 is a lot of money. I wish they would have quoted different prices, but the rep didn't. She didn't discuss anything. Additionally, when I went back for a check-up the first time, she said my batteries were gone and she charged me $15 for each battery. That should not have been. I'm very dissatisfied.

During the intervening time, I had tried another brand but I liked Miracle-Ear better. I hear reasonably well with them. They don't restore me back to normal hearing, but I hear a lot of stuff. I had the In-the-Canal before. And this time, I tried the Behind-the-Ear and they're a little more comfortable than In-the-Canal but I don't think they pick up any better because sound wave is coming from the front and they have to make a circle around my ear for the hearing aid to pick them up. Their customer service people are excellent but their product is pretty expensive. The set that I have now would retail without trade-in about $9,000. That's pretty expensive for fixed income people.

I've been wearing hearing aids for 10 years or more and I've worn Starkey for several years. Then we had winter in Yuma, Arizona and I happened to go to a home and garden show there. Miracle-Ear had one of their workers there so I stopped and visited with him and then went on and made an appointment. Their customer service is very knowledgeable. I live in Wyoming and so by wintering in Arizona, I was a little skeptical about going from Arizona to Wyoming to have the hearing aids worked on. I needed it worked on in Wyoming and I had to have work done actually a month ago. So, I made an appointed for the one closest to me which has to be in Fort Collins, Colorado and they were real super. Both customer service in Arizona and Colorado were very, very, very good.
I lost my hearing from working in the coal mines in Wyoming when I was younger. The coal miners provided two hearing aids for me and then they quit providing them. That's why I was familiar with Starkey but the Miracle-Ear hearing aids are much better. I've had the in-the-canal hearing aids for 10 years and I had the great big ones that fit in the whole ear then I had the smaller ones that fit in the half ear. Every time they went bad on me, I went to a behind-the-ear to get by. So, with Miracle-Ear, I got their behind-the-ear, in-the-canal hearing aids which are the most expensive and I've had a very good experience with them. I would highly recommend them.

My husband insisted that I should go to Miracle-Ear. Then they tested me there, said I needed hearing aids and provided me with the model that goes around and into my ear. I'm hearing better now although it's too loud sometimes. Their rep, Neil, is very helpful and informative. He's very concerned and takes the time to find out about me so that I wasn't wasting my time or his. I'm happy that he takes such wonderful care of us. Every three months or so, we go in and he rechecks our ears. He lets us know if we have ear wax and how to correct it or to take it out. He has a partner named Dean who comes in. But I've told Neil that I'm not comfortable with Dean who I don't think is as experienced as he is. We've already recommended Neil to one of our friends who just got her hearing aids this week.

I started dealing with Miracle-Ear and I've been very satisfied ever since. It got to a point that I kept asking people to repeat and it wasn't good, so Miracle Ear stopped most of that. The first style I had was an in-the-canal and I couldn't use them, they gave me a headache. So, I got the one behind-the-ear and love it. When the rep at Miracle-Ear did the test and then put the hearing aids in my ear I started crying. I could not believe how I could hear my daughter and granddaughter. It has impacted my life so much and I can’t believe I went that long without it. I got the top of the line model that I paid around $5300 for. I got my essentials too that has been really great, every month getting the newsletter, and the batteries. Miracle-Ear is spectacular. When I’m in Sacramento I go to the Roseville location if I have a problem with the wires and they take care of me right there. When I was in Texas I needed another dryer then they helped me. It's all very impressive and wonderful.

I always had a problem hearing and I went to Miracle-Ear. I got my In-the-Canal hearing aids two years ago which I paid $5,400 for. When I first got the hearing aids, they worked all right. Six months later, I had to keep them on high all the time. Otherwise, I couldn't hear that well. The right one didn't work and I had to wait seven days. About three months later, the left one went then the right one again. Casey said she'll clean them. I got in, they took out the wax and they got in so far. She told me not to put the hearing aids in so far, but I told her that they go automatically. It was six months ago when the right one went. But Casey got the hearing aids back. I told her that I hoped that I don't have problems with them because they're guaranteed for 37 months.
When asked what was wrong with the hearing aids, Casey said they will always say it was the wax that prevented the hearing aids from working. I called up to complain about it because I don't want to pay $5,400 and have them not work. I called up the Better Business Bureau and I told them the dates. I was told that if it happens again, let them know because it's protected under the Lemon law. But the hearing aids are working good so far and I'm satisfied. I live by myself and I hear all right. However, I have tinnitus and I can't sleep right away. I stay up to 2:00 in the morning, but I get up about 11:00 and it goes on for 13 hours. The batteries of the hearing aids don't last long, three days at the most.

My wife has been telling me for years that I'm hard of hearing, so it was a great opportunity when Miracle-Ear had a promotion, and I got my hearing aid from them. It's a big help. I don't wear it as regularly as I should, but the good news is that my wearing it is increasing. I wanted the tube in the ear style, but I got talked out of it. So, I went with the Behind-the-Ear style. It's a little tough when I wear sunglasses or reading glasses because they get hooked on it. That's a pain, but I live with it. The customer service reps have been very helpful, accommodating, and easy to work with. They follow up and remind me to make appointments.

My hearing aids weren't working good. I kept going back, they'd fix something, I'd get home, and then they wouldn't be working again. I got aggravated, and Walmart was near me, and I saw that every time I went shopping, there's an advertisement of Miracle-Ear for a hearing test, so I gave it a shot. I got their in-the-canal hearing aid because it was the cheapest model. The rep tried them and it worked. I traded in my old ones, then I had to pay $5,000, that's why my guarantee ran out.
I have a cleaning coming up, but they changed people in Toms River. A rep said my guarantee was up and I had to get a new one, but she left. So, this new rep isn't mentioning it at all. The only thing she says is that I'll have to buy my batteries. So now when I see them, I'm going to ask what's it going to cost for me in case these hearing aids go. I was told it's going to be $300 for a year, and that if I don't have insurance, it could cost me a lot more since I have two hearing aids and not one. So on my next visit, I'm going to find out if they really want me to buy new ones, and I can't afford it because I paid $5,000 for these. I'll have to see about this guarantee.
I take my hearing aids out when I'm speaking on the phone because with the In-the-Canal hearing aids, I can hear on the phone off-the-ear. This is an inconvenience where I have almost lost it a few times because I'd get a call, lay my hearing aid down, go up from room-to-room, or go to the bathroom and then hang up.
Miracle-Ear is very cooperative and I'd recommend them. I've got my regular cleanings and twice the rep had to send out that something went wrong, and I didn't like waiting two weeks where they had to send the hearing aids out. They couldn't fix them there until they send them out, and it takes three days. Fortunately, I have two hearing aids so I always have one, but twice this happened and it was an inconvenience. They fixed the hearing aids, I got them back, and they worked good. The only thing that worries me right now is whether or not they're going to charge me at full price for a new pair if something happens today that one hearing aid should go completely go. I understand that as they get older, more things could happen. But seeing as I bought directly from them, I wouldn't expect to have to pay $300 a year.

Blue Cross Blue Shield will pay up to $2500 for hearing aids for me so I called Miracle-Ear and made an appointment. We hit it off real good with the service from the receptionist and our doctor and I got a real good evaluation. I got the Behind-The-Ear model because apparently, my ear canals are funny shaped. They even tried the little small ones and they wouldn’t stay in. So it’s molded to my ear canal and then it’s got the receiver or transmitter in the back of my ear. It’s not real noticeable but it’s bigger than the regular. I didn’t get the real fancy one but I know that some of them will tie-in to the phone, TV, and other stuff and they’re really good, even with Bluetooth. But the ones I got have the little buttons on the back that I press if I want to be able to hear a little more clearly.
I had recently listened to the talk shows on Sunday morning and in one of the show’s episodes, they were talking about the people who get hearing aids and then they don’t use them because most companies don’t do the follow-up. Miracle-Ear does the follow-ups and they’re a little bit more expensive but I got to figure all that in. The few of my friends who went out and also got hearing aids have got the less expensive brands. They’re not keeping up with the maintenance and I noticed a lot of them quit wearing them. I get a little service with Miracle-Ear and we go in about every four months. They clean them out really good, keep them running, and make sure that they’re transmitting and doing what they’re supposed to do.
I worked around machinery all my life and I told my doctor when I was in the service that I had what they called "tractor ear". It's because the farmer’s got his head turned and one ear’s near that exhaust pipe all the time. She gave up because she said she had not heard that term in a long time. I can hear the low and the high but I couldn’t understand what some people are saying. They have to be real close to me talking and it’s really strange. Now, I am hearing a lot better and picking up a lot of things. I don’t even have to turn the volume up on the radio. So, it’s been a fairly pleasant experience.

The first pair of hearing aids I bought was in the shop every week for repairs. Then a friend of mine at work went to Sears Miracle-Ear store in West Hartford because she was so deaf, you could stand behind her and scream and she would never hear you. And when she got Miracle-Ear, she could hear and that’s real awesome. So I went to Miracle-Ear, bought the first pair, and I've had them from 2006 until two years ago because they were no good anymore and I was having trouble hearing. I had to get some stronger ones, which I did, and I'm very happy with them. I got a Behind-the-Ear since it's the only kind I can use and the Inside-the-Ear model could be irritating to the ear. My audiology specialist Dr. Will (I call him Dr. Will but he's not a doctor) is fantastic and so is the secretary who even fixed my hearing aid for me when the wire that goes from one to the other broke.
Now I can understand people's dialect better. At certain points, I can't hear certain things because I can't hear high-pitched sounds. That's the only problem I've got. But without these hearing aids, I would be lost. I was very pleased and I even wrote a letter to the company. I've also turned several people onto Miracle-Ear and told them, "If you don't go there, you're crazy. It's just a waste of money." Miracle Ear is worth it. This is my second go-round with them and I won't go with anybody else.

I'm only 53 years old but feel like I'm 100. I wanted a hearing aid that's hidden so people wouldn't think I'm **. It's the reason I went with Miracle-Ear -- for vanity. I've got the top of the line digital hearing aids, about $9000 apiece. I love the product and it impacted my life tremendously. The hearing aid can't be seen so nobody would know that I have hearing aids or that I'm handicapped. I can't keep the hearing aids on at home because they have to turn the TV down so low they can't even hear it. There were times too where I've got to take the hearing aids out where things are too loud or too noisy. But the hearing aids were sensational. We went with Miracle-Ear and they set us up right away. I got a two-piece hearing aid. The part that picks up the sound goes behind the ear and I plug a part into my ear and it's connected by a thin wire cord. It was the least expensive and it seemed quite functional. They made me try it out and all of a sudden, I could hear people. I had to tell my two sons to tone down a little bit because I could hear so well and they're so used to yelling. On the first day I got it, our youngest son dropped a nickel on the floor and I was, "Woah! What was that?" And that was with my back turned. Before that, it was more a case of people getting within about three feet of me and double their volume for me to be able to hear.
Moreover, Miracle-Ear's technician was very good at listening and hearing what I have. I had one hearing aid that goes into the ear that was a little bit too big. So, she tried out another one, another plug section, put another one in for me and that fits just beautiful. They are very good all-around and I couldn't think of a fault onto them. Miracle-Ear has done so much for me, especially being almost stone-deaf, and now I'm hearing quite well. I even have the TV on and I can listen to it.

They misrepresent what your insurance will pay, and they promise financing deals that they don't actually allow in the end. They will cost you thousands more than the already steep price they are up front about, and the product itself is made for about $20 in China.

What attracted me to Miracle-Ear was their big, full-page ad in the paper offering speaker-in-the-ear hearing aids that cost $998. And since I dropped one and it quit working, I checked that out because I need a new hearing aid. I went to their store and they gave me an exam, which was the most thorough exam that I ever had. I've had a very good experience with them. I've been wearing the hearing aid for about 20 years and it works fine. However, I wish I had better volume control on it. Its volume is pre-programmed. But I'm pretty satisfied. The small battery I have in one ear lasts me about five days, while the large battery I have in the other ear lasts me two weeks.
Their customer service reps were great. The guy that I dealt with initially was extremely good and I'm sorry that he went to Chicago after our last business transaction. I appreciate the fact that the reps want me to keep coming back. They clean my hearing aid free of charge and make any adjustments that I mention to them, like increasing the volume and cutting down the background noise. They do the adjustments with the computer. I've got two microphones in my hearing aid and it's a nice unit, but they adjusted one of the microphones a little bit to cut out the background noise, and I'm now very pleased with it.
The only thing I don't like is that I've sent several friends there since then and got the nice deal for $1000, but they hit up my friends for $5000. So none of them purchased the Miracle-Ear hearing aid because they considered the price as way too high. Although I'm very pleased with my hearing aid, if they had tried to hit me with $3000 or $4000, I would have just gotten a mail order piece because I've had this before. After paying $4000 for a hearing aid with another audiologist, I found that the $600 mail piece worked about as good. I didn't expect that and was really amazed. But still, I had a very good experience with Miracle-Ear.

I checked with a couple of other hearing aid places and liked the people that talked to me at Miracle-Ear and decided to settle on them. The first hearing aid I got was a small one in my ear and that didn’t last very long. Then it changed to one that is behind my ear and it’s got the plug that comes down into it. They came out with the better one and that cost me more money and I’ve had it for three years now. The sales and customer service teams have been very good too. They’ve been truthful about all of my experiences.

I went to have a checkup but I said that I couldn't afford the Miracle-Ear hearing aid but I went back and bought the one that goes behind the ear and comes down and goes into the ear with a small wire. The man convinced me that this has a better quality. I paid $2,000. I also didn't want people to know I was wearing one that's why I got this model. Now, I can hear the preacher when he’s preaching or he goes real low. My girl friends are now saying that I’m talking better or I’m listening to them. Miracle-Ear's staff is a peach. I was looking up on places for a repair on the old hearing aid that I had. I called Miracle-Ear and they said they could repair it, which they did but I ended up getting new ones. I didn’t realize how bad my hearing was until after the hearing test was done. I knew I had some loss but it was getting worse. I was also half lip reading without knowing I was doing it. I started thinking about all my talk and how I had to be facing right at people and watching their lips move. The lady there asked about that and she’s very knowledgeable, explained everything well, and has taken care of me every time I go in. She’s been very friendly and open from the start, as well as the gal behind the counter that schedules my appointments.
The hearing aid I got is a mold that goes around and into the ear. It was affordable at that time. They checked with the insurance and said that I had to pay $50 per year deductible. It ended up costing me nothing as I never got billed. I also found I got another extra medical coverage and I might be able to get a better hearing aid, which I might check into next time because I know they got one that is Bluetooth compatible. I hear so much more now with Miracle-Ear. It’s great dealing with them and they were able to take care of my hearing problems.

I need my new hearing aid very much to have a full life at 77 years of age. I will call again to see if they have called my BCBS insurance to see what the problem is. It was starting to have problems and like talking in a garbage can and they wouldn’t help me, so I decided to go someplace else and my wife took me to the Sears store in Cincinnati, Ohio. We got a Miracle-Ear hearing aid and it’s really made my life so much different. I had hearing problems for 50 years and I can hear now. It helped me in my work before I retired as a pipe fitter. For about five years, I traveled for Procter and Gamble, dealing with contractors and people, and I really had to understand what they were saying.
This is my fourth set of hearing aids from Miracle-Ear. The first set was the in the ear type, then I needed more power or more amplification so I went to the behind the ear type and I’ve had those since then. I go by my hearing specialist's recommendation. I have all the confidence in the world in that man. I can tell him if I have a problem and he has always solved it. He's courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and cheerful. My friend who had been at Miracle-Ear was very impressed with the place. I talked with him and thought that I'd better check it out. I had hearing aids before but then I knocked one on the floor, stepped on it and crushed it. So I went over to Miracle-Ear and their staff was incredible. Before, when I had my previous hearing aids, that company's staff was like, "Okay, you got the hearing aids. They work." One of the things was that hearing loss is one of the few handicaps that people get angry with me for having. When I ask somebody to repeat something, the worst thing they can do is just say, "Never mind" and walk away.
That's very frustrating and can be hurtful. But the staff over at Miracle-Ear here in Lancaster were very compassionate. They made me aware that they understood that situation. Also, the results of what I wound up with these hearing aids is tremendous. I'm a musician and my ears are incredibly important to me. I can take care of the various settings that I have with it that I use on my smartphone. I didn't go anywhere else after I met up with the gang over at the Miracle-Ear here. They were that impressive. Also, they had it set up to be an easy buy even though the hearing aids are expensive, which was terrific. The whole experience was really worthwhile.
I got the Behind-The-Ear model. People can't see these hearing aids, but I want these to do the job and don't really care if people see them. I chose it, too, due to all of the things I could do with it. It was programmable and had various settings that I have on my smartphone where I can just tap on. It's also got noise reduction.
Back then when I'd be at a restaurant sitting and trying to talk to somebody across the table from me, I couldn't hear them but I could hear all the noise around me. With the Miracle-Ear hearing aids, I punch in number two and all the noise around me disappears. The microphone has become very directional and I can change it for different situations. I have TV, noise, music, and normal settings on mine. Miracle-Ear is great but the caring staff and everything else made it a really nice experience for me. I made an appointment and went to the Miracle-Ear in Linden, which was the closest one to my house, for a hearing check because I was experiencing some difficulties and I had some concerns when I was younger. I figured I was going to get hearing aids and that's where it started. One of my doctors had recommended that Miracle-Ear is one of the best places to start and they have a very good reputation. Even my current ENT says that they're one of the best places to work with. True enough, I have a wonderful experience with them.
I've been dealing with Miracle-Ear for almost 20 years now and everything is positive. I love working with Dorothy in her business in Watchung. She's a very gracious person and she took over for her parents. I like the fact that her father when he was running the business, was also hearing impaired. So, it was good to have that person to relate to. I'm still with her because her mother had passed away and her father had retired. She is the most conscientious person I have ever met. Whenever I needed an appointment, I got one almost immediately. When I needed service to my hearing aid, she sent them out. I was contacted immediately when they came in, for fittings, and appointments. Everything is so punctual and pleasant.
It's fabulous. They seem to understand when I try to explain what's missing, what's too loud, or what's too quiet when I go in for an adjustment. There's so many levels of adjustment and so many things that they can do to a hearing aid today. So, it's a little bit more comforting when somebody understood what you're trying to tell them.
I've started with and have always had the total In-the-Ear hearing aid. I'm used to it because I've been wearing them for over 15 years and I had tried the one that has the little tube that goes in and to me, it just felt weird. The In-the-Ear is comfortable as long as it's a good fit and I can normally tell if there's something wrong like something is not connecting right or the sound is off. To me, it's right there in my ear like a solid piece and I feel comfortable that it's not something hanging over the back of my ear.

It was the most reasonable and the one I got fits over the top of my ear and the hearing part slides into my ear. It works fine for me and I wear glasses so I occasionally get a little sore spot over the top of my ear. But a little bit of adjustment will take care of that. I wore Miracle-Ear hearing aids for a couple of years and I wasn't getting the performance out of them, so I tried another source. And now, I'm back with Miracle-Ear again. The Miracle-Ear rep does a superior job. He brought my wife in and we've done word identification tests. He had her make statements or words reading off of a list, trying to get a comparative reading as to where I was when we started out as compared to where I'm going to be at the end of the year. It's an interesting way to do it. He's a great guy, and if I go and see him for any minor thing that has bothered me, he instantaneously makes adjustments.
I got the earpiece that goes behind the ear. They're very small and the control is all done through the hearing aid itself. There's no adjusting volume on it. It has three buttons to push for three different modes of hearing. The rep said that it's virtually adjusting as the environment changes. So far, it's good. I'll probably catch up with him next week and make an adjustment. I set the volume too high and it's supposed to read on its own, but it's easy to fix. It's nice, clean, and in a good location.
With the other hearing aids that I had, I had to have a handheld volume control button, and I had to make sure that I had it in my pocket anywhere I went. If I didn't, I was stuck with whatever the hearing aid was set on when I left, and sometimes, the environment changes and I have to adjust the volume up or down. So, I wasn't that satisfied. They're very expensive, too, and I was not using them. With my Miracle-Ear hearing aids, I have no complaints at all. My wife seems to be very satisfied. My responses to our conversations are definitely different than they were.

We saw Miracle-Ear in the shopping center so we went in to see. They had an appointment but they took me right in and I didn't have to wait very long at all. That was a few days before Christmas and I told them that the saddest thing for me was that I couldn't hear my grandchildren well. But then, Miracle-Ear loaned me a pair to get me through Christmas so I could enjoy it more. The devices were something that they let people try on while they were in their store and I was sold right then when they let me do that. In that time, they had ordered hearing aids for me and these came in right after Christmas so it was quick.
In my meetings before, it got to a point where I was nodding my head like I understood something even if I didn't. I had to ask a co-worker about what was said but with the Miracle-Ear hearing aids, I can hear much better. I also turn the TV up not too loud anymore. The Miracle-Ear device fits on top of my ear and has a thin, clear wire that goes in my ear. It was the newest model at the time and comfortable to wear unlike the hearing aids from other places wherein I also had to go through making a mold of my ear. My dad and other people had told me those hearing aids which block the whole ear weren't the most comfortable things in the world. Nothing sounded natural with those, too. But when I tried the Miracle-Ear device, my husband, and everything, sounded the same. I felt like I was getting some air in my ear and they weren't blocked off.
Charles, the rep, was wonderful. I was amazed that I could look up a computer screen and he explained things really well. But he's retired so I went through several different people still at the same office and now I'm with Tracy who's wonderful as well. She cares and whenever I have any problem, I don't feel bad at all calling her. Tracy gave me a tip about always putting new batteries directly in my hearing aid. She told me to let them sit about 30 seconds as these will extend their lives a little and it works. That's really nice.
Then, I had a problem with one of my hearing aids. Rust kept building up because I kept sweating so much. Tracy's fixes only helped for a few days and finally, it got to a point where they completely replaced my hearing aids. And they've been doing great since. She then said that the fact that I might be perspiring walking to our office and then going into an air-conditioned office speeds up corrosion. I think that's what it turned out to be so I'm doing things differently now. That was Tracy again giving me another tip. It's been a happy and successful experience with Miracle-Ear. I signed up and got My Essentials as my hearing aids are past three years old now and that has been wonderful in me getting my batteries every month in the mail. I've recommended Miracle-Ear to a lot of people. My experience with them has been happily successful.

I went with Miracle-Ear since they were in my area and close to my work. I got the rechargeable behind the ear model because I wanted hearing aids that can't be seen easily and I didn’t want one that I had to change the batteries all the time. The customer service and sales reps have been wonderful. I hear better and I now know what people are saying to me.

I’m deaf on my left side which can’t be rectified and I got Miracle-Ear's hearing aid on my right side that's very powerful and strong enough to pick up communication from the left side. Their people are terrific and very compassionate with my problem in the sense that I only needed one hearing aid and they found the right one for me. Tara has been very professional too. Anytime I need an adjustment, like making the audio higher or lower, I can make an appointment anytime I want and they find the time for me. If the office is closed, they’d direct me to another office in a nearby town to fix my hearing aid. My life is much better now. I don’t have much problems with my wife not hearing me and me not hearing her. I’ve recommended Miracle-Ear to others.

I went to Miracle-Ear and the rep said he's got the solution for my problem. He stuck the hearing aids on then I could hear. They were used and several hundred dollars cheaper than a new set but carried the warranty. They work pretty good and I've been happy with them. It improves my hearing and there's quite a difference with and without it. I have a little trouble with some TV shows and certain voices are hard to understand. I can hear them but sometimes it’s hard to make out the words, but it depends on the person and the pitch of the voice. For the most part, I'm satisfied. My wife doesn't yell at me as much anymore.

I have nerve deafness. I had used different kinds of aids before but when we relocated from New York to Nevada, I had to find a new supplier. Miracle-Ear had an office in Sears where I had been working part-time then so I had gone to the audiologist there. Now, I have a marvelous audiologist, Melissa. She's been very accommodating. She takes care of me and she's almost like a friend. I see her about every three months to make adjustments to the hearing aid and make sure everything is working properly. It's free of charge. I fond that kind of follow-up to be enormously good customer relations. I can't speak for all the other Miracle-Ears but mine is top-notch.
I had worn the In-the-Ear but not In-the-Canal type for 10 years. They fit me perfectly but after a while, they wore out. Also, since my ear canals are very small, the in-ear type was not inserted into the canal so I had to go with the behind-the-ear type which I've had for four and a half years now and it's the first pair of that type I've had. I like them very much and they're very comfortable. Although when she molded the first pair, that too was very comfortable but I just like this style better. The one I'm using now has been set for my nerve deafness. It has made my life easier in that I can now understand what people are saying and it's not the volume, but it's the enunciation and the hearing aids have been set for my particular problem.

I would recommend Miracle-Ear. I liked the man who waited on me really well. He was very pleasant and courteous. It made a big difference with where I'd go. I tried someplace else but I didn't like the people waiting on me. I first had the hearing aids that went right into the ear. I liked the idea but it bothered my ear. The rep was willing to work with me and gave me a different one, but I'm still having trouble and I seem to get an earache if I wear it too long. It could be my body and how it reacts to something in the ear. But I can hear better when I have the hearing aids on. I only wear them if I'm going someplace and someone is speaking and I need to hear. I probably would just have to talk with the rep again and see what he thinks.

I knew Miracle-Ear hearing aids had a good reputation and that they're the best. The people at their office here in town, especially Marco, are fabulous. Their sales and customer service teams have been most helpful with repairs and follow-up. They're very pleasant, prompt and generous with their time. They even helped me with my father's hearing aids which were not by Miracle-Ear but they said that brand is part of Miracle-Ear now. They've provided wonderful service. My miracle aid is small, over the ear and has an almost invisible earpiece going inside that people don't notice if they aren't looking for it. It also has a rechargeable battery but I work nights and sometimes up for 24 hours a day and it doesn't last 24 hours. But it's very unobtrusive. This model worked best for me. Having it makes my life easier.

I tried some hearing aids called Lyric for 30 days which they wanted me to wear 24/7. I loved how I could hear better but I developed an irritation inside my ear. I have a very short ear canal so it wasn't recommended for me. On top of it, they said that every year I had to renew my contract with them for $3,000. So if they had been able to clear up the irritation, I could not have afforded $3,000 annually. That's when I remembered the Miracle-Ear store in Sears at the mall that I go to. I already knew the benefit from hearing aids so I didn't stop and went right to Miracle-Ear for location convenience. When they went out of business, the business was taken over by someone else at a different location and I've stayed with them.
I can hear birds and the rainfall with my Miracle-Ear hearing aids. I wasn't that bad when I started but I definitely am now. It also enables me to dim background noises if it's a noisy environment like a restaurant. It has positively impacted my life by giving me the ability to hear things and people talking. It's affordable although it was over $3,000. It was offered to me as one of their best for what I wanted, which was, at that time, the short-range conversational range. Their team is terrific, very upbeat and very positive. They totally believe in their product and translate that into their enthusiasm without being pushy. I was impressed with what they had offered me and the kind of people that they seemed to be. They gave me excellent service and they don't charge for follow-up care unless they need an upgrade into a different model hearing aid.
I know that eventually, I will need to upgrade again because my hearing is not as good as it was even when I started and I know that's coming. But I know I'm not going to be talked into anything. I believe in these people and they're very convenient. They're even having an office opened closer to me than where it moved to from my original purchase. It was a very satisfying and beneficial experience and I have recommended them.

I was constantly flipping it out when I would move my hair so it became very annoying. However, I get a lot of feedback and a lot of whistling. I had done other researches and at that time it was Miracle-Ear and Bell & Howell’s, which was really expensive. I had gotten some cheaper brands, and Miracle-Ear had their sensitivities for sound. I thought I had to try them, so I did. I’ve had them ever since, and I just got a new pair today. I had been wearing the ones in the ears forever. Then I had to go to a bigger size, and Miracle-Ear came out with new technology and I could go to the smaller size again. We just found out that my ears had changed so the ones I had weren’t strong enough.
As time has gone by my hearing has gotten better. I still remember when I put them on the first time and I could hear birds that I probably haven’t heard for a while. It’s the little things that I didn't know I was missing. When I was married the first time, that’s when I got my first pair in and the guy from Miracle-Ear says they’re like marriage counselors because the person that can hear can understand why the other person can’t. Through my lifetime now these have become the genesis. When I was coming home one time, I had to go get a motorcycle ‘cause I had taken it in for some repair, and my wife was driving and I heard a clicking sound. I said, “What are you turning in here for?” And she goes, “I’m not turning here. I just turned off my cruise control.” When I’m driving the car and I flip it, I can hear. When I’m in the backseat, I can never hear it. It’s amazing how much better the hearing aids get every time I get them.
Tom took over for John, but when I did all the stuff with John, he was awesome. He wore hearing aids also. He had the ones inside the ears and he got the ones that go over the ear, which are the ones I got now. It sits behind my ear for hearing, and he said he would never go back and I’m feeling that already. I didn’t know if I’d like them behind my ear ‘cause I wear glasses, but it’ll all work out. Miracle-Ear also has the longest warranty at three years. John told me that if I ruin one hearing aid, they’re covered except for 25%. I could call my insurance agency and if something happened, I know it’d be totally covered.
What’s nice is that my Miracle-Ear hearing aids are made in Minnesota and I live in Wisconsin, and anytime I’ve had to send one in, it’s back within a week to 10 days, which doesn’t sound like a long time. I could get them back and put them back in my ear, which is cool. They take ‘em apart, they fix them and I usually don’t have another issue with them. They’re the best hearing units out there, they’ve got the best technology and it can help a person hear so much better.

It's amazing to have the device. The first Sunday I went to church after getting my hearing aids, I sat in the same seat at where we sat at the back and when things started going on, my world opened up. What also sold it to me was that a guy comes to my city twice a month. He's about a mile right out the road so if I have any problems, I don't have to go over the next town. I have gone several times and he has taught me things I wasn't told when I bought the hearing aids. I would have not taken the loan if in the beginning I knew that they would still charge me an interest on my loan even though they said they wouldn't. I'm living on SSI and it's not that much to pay with that money. I'm paying $30 per month and that makes a lot of difference for a person who lives on the SSI, but they said they can't give me the hearing aids for free so I pay every month but they are charging me interest. Some people get their hearing aids from Medi-Cal and Medicare, and if Miracle-Ear finds out how to do that, a lot of people will go with them because they're a company that's known to man people. Also, it will be better if they would use a machine in checking a person's hearing ability, not just through their people.

I have a severe hearing loss in my left ear and a moderate one in the right part. I hear very well with the hearing aids. I had been to two other providers and I had a falling out with both of them. One was NewSound. I was supposed to have some new hearing aids come in. It was taking a long time and they couldn’t be bothered to find out where they were. So I left them and went to Beltone, and they had a worse problem. I had a young guy working for them and ultimately got killed in a boating accident and Beltone didn’t bother to have somebody else coming in to take care of the patients and giving out their hearing aids. I had a new set of hearing aids that came in and I thought it was poor that they didn't have anybody to dispense the hearing aids so I searched around again and I found Miracle Ear.
The regular guy that I deal with is a doctor and I admire him quite a bit. He had the experience of working in the hospital for 25 years. He was always in the audiology department and was the director of the whole thing for 20 years. He is a medical doctor but had gotten tired of administration and he liked the idea of being one on one with patients. He retired and went to Miracle-Ear to see patients on a one-to-one basis. He knows what he’s doing and he has taught me some things. There are times when he’s had some health issues and was out for a couple of days. Miracle-Ear would then bring somebody from another location that is knowledgeable and takes care of the patients. I’m never left without somebody that can see me.
I’ve been able to afford Miracle-Ear the extra months. I had the Concha on the original hearing aids I had from them. That’s the cover to the ear and goes toward the back, which helps to keep the hearing aid from slipping. But I couldn’t get my finger in there and so the doctor took them off. It had 30 days trial and I was never told about that. I was shocked when I went there and it had expired. Then I had custom-made earpieces done. The doctor had quoted me the wrong price. He had told me it would be about $150 and Miracle-Ear wanted $275. He went back to the company and told them that he made a mistake on that. The company would not relent and told him that I have to pay $275 even though he quoted me wrong. To his credit, he stood up for it and told me to pay $150 and he paid the difference.
I have purchased the latest instrument. I use what they call their GENIUS technology. However, I didn’t know I was using its app wrongly. I use rechargeable batteries. The whole thing goes in the recharger and the little pieces that go behind the ear have little contacts on it and that’s what makes contact with the charger. It goes in every night and recharges for six hours and you’re good to go for another whole day. And you don’t replace batteries except once a year. They were doing it one time and then they quit.
They would go back to whatever the default was; not taking into consideration that someone may have used the app to change the setting. So you have three minutes to put the hearing aids in your ears, fire up the smartphone and start the app so that the hearing aids would detect the app. And from the smartphone, you can adjust it where you wanted it. I told Miracle-Ear that they need to change that because it isn’t right. But I found out since then. I was having a problem with some feedback which sounds like birds chirping sometimes. And the problem was because for speech recognition particularly, I have the tone, not the volume. The volume was still in the middle. This technology is designed to be able to adjust. And it didn’t have any way to go but go down and that was becoming a nuisance.
The doctor told me, “It’s just trying to adjust in the only way it can because you had it to the maximum. What you should do is go to the default midway and then if you need to adjust it, do it a little bit. But don’t go as far as that because then it won’t have a tendency to bring it down like that. It thinks it doesn’t need as much.” And so, I started doing it that way and I haven’t had the problems with it anymore. I have the clarity level per the default set up a little bit. The technology is good and the sound quality is much better.
However, there are a couple of points that I would make as an organization. I find Miracle-Ear to be a very greedy company. They need to wake up and realize that the majority of users of hearing aids are older people. And older people do not have the income that they did when they were young and were fully employed, and yet Miracle Ear doesn’t seem to do anything. I wish they’d realize that Medicare and the insurance companies are not paying for hearing aids, and that really doesn’t do most people any good.
People like me are having a hard time affording it. I’m retired and on Social Security. These hearing aids that I have are like $8000 and I know they’re making a ton of profit. They have a thing called Customer care where it says you can finance it and make payments every month without paying interest for a year but that doesn’t help retired people. Because when you’re on Social Security, it’s not like when you’re working. You don’t get paid the same day every month.
Then there was a time that I came there and the doctor was with a patient. He then came out and told me that we had 15 minutes. I said that I expect to be there as long as I needed to be when I see a doctor. I need for him to be able to take care of whatever the reason why I’m there. You can’t accomplish anything much in 15 minutes. So he told the girl who sits at the front to make sure that she would set me up an appointment with him for 30 minutes every time, and even when I would come in to get the hearing aids cleaned, I should tell the girl that I need to see him as well. He made an allowance on that and I got really mad. I think that’s dumb and it’s not worthy of stupid. There’s no reason to treat people like that. I threatened them to never come back.
I’ve been close friends with him and did a lot for him too. I bought him tools and had a good relationship with him but I’ve been getting irritated with that. I told him, “I consider the company nice. This is not a reflection on you or anybody that’s working at this office here.” I have no problem with the staff nor the guy that he replaced who was the first one I dealt with and was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. But I do have a problem with Miracle-Ear charging through the nose every time you turn around for something. That’s ridiculous. But the experience with them has been very good and as far as patient care is concerned, it’s excellent. I already have recommended them to friends of mine down at church.

The next guy I talked to was a technician who was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He did the examination, turned me over to a sales person who was a representative of the company. I was impressed by the fact that he didn’t try to sell me the highest priced set of hearing aids that he could. He made it sound like he was trying to meet my needs rather than fill sales quota. I got the behind-the-ear hearing aid, the one next to the least expensive because I’ve only got a 25% hearing loss. It has helped me hear the tones that I didn't hear. I've gone without it for days at a time and then it begins to annoy my wife because I turn the TV up too loud. I have recommended Miracle-Ear to others.

Miracle-Ear was the one nearest to me and I wanted my ear tested, then I looked at their technology and decided that they were as good as any of their competitors. I got a behind the ear because it was of those models where people saw very little of it, since I was concerned about others that I've seen which were massive and horrible looking. Also, the design was attractive and I decided to go along with it. They’ve been able to recommend the technology I’m currently using and it's an improvement over what I initially had. I have the latest and greatest technology and I’m satisfied with the service I’ve had with them. Their customer service team has been a first-class and super team. They know their business and they helped me use the hearing aid much better than I would normally have done. I would introduce Miracle-Ear to anyone I know that has a complaint similar to mine.

They had a Miracle-Ear office at Sears department store. When we were there, we wandered by and discovered that we could have a free hearing test. So, we did that and decided to get from them because their products were handy and they were nearby. Our hearing aids have been a great help and their people are very nice. They're very accommodating and they have a really good attitude about wanting to have us hear better. They were very willing to go out of their way to make sure that we're comfortable with what they're testing us on and answered questions. They've all been great. The fellow that we go to now is not in Sears anymore but he's a super guy and he's done a lot of good for us. In fact, he just did another test on us not very long ago because they had some new testing that came out that he was trained in and it enabled him to be able to give us a little better quality of hearing in the hearing aids.

My daughters who is an RN took me to Miracle-Ear four years ago. She took a test first and then I took one. Miracle-Ear helped a lot. My hearing aid is the one that comes all the way behind my ear and it has a little tube and then it goes into the ear. They talked to me about that new model and I may do that later. I just renewed my ears warranty. The new one would wrap around and you can turn it up and down with your cellphone.
Miracle-Ear sales and customer service teams have been great. Every time I've gone by there they attend to whatever needs to be attended to. The last time they sent my hearing aids to Miracle-Ear and came back with a brand new set so it's always been good. Betty at the place in Lansdale is exceptional. Now I have the hearing aid that's a little cone that fits in the ear because my doctor said that style is going to be better - the doctor has been wonderful. Plus, the team is very good. So when Miracle-Ear got on the bandwagon and since I liked their hearing aids, I went back to them. Now, I have the Behind-the-Ear model that has a little tiny piece that goes in the ear. I chose it for comfort. Compared to the past, the Miracle-Ear sales and customer service reps have been phenomenal. They really seem to care about me and what I've got. I wanted something I could take out pretty easily because I was working when I first got them and I worked with a lot of heavy machinery. That way, I didn’t have to listen to all that extra noise. They're really nice and they work well. I'm really well pleased with the product. Now, it's easier for me to hear what's going on. It’s an improvement.
I've also been well-pleased with the people at Miracle-Ear. They know me by name when I come in. If I have a problem, they take care of it right away. Their reps were really knowledgeable. They answered my questions if I had any. I go for a monthly cleaning and they're always pleasant and smiling, so I really look forward to it. They’ve done really well for me. It’s difficult enough as a person gets older because you do tend to become invisible. But if you want to keep active as a part of the community and the society, you obviously have to be able to have clarity in your hearing. If you keep saying, “what, what”, would you repeat that? You become very self-conscious about it. And so I find that since I have joined a couple of groups of people that Miracle-Ear has become very helpful. I could not have operated without the hearing aids.
I was very satisfied with the explanations of Miracle-Ear and so I did not compare them to any other hearing aid companies, other than the one that I had been connected with before in another State. I originally had the little ones that you pop in your ears and have to replace the battery constantly. I've worked with those for three and a half years or so. These always felt like I had my finger in my ear. It was uncomfortable. It was tolerable but it was not the most comfortable sort of hearing aid.
The one that I had that use the battery were running close to the end of their life expectancy as far as providing the best. Then just a year or so ago, I treated myself for which I will still be paying for a couple of years, a more enhanced model that I use the charger for. So the one I have now is a lot more useful and is a lot better. It's obviously lighter weight and just this doesn't bother me as much as the other one did.
The most outstanding for me is the relationship I have both with the person I deal most directly with and the receptionist and they both have been extremely outgoing and extremely helpful. I've always had nothing but kindness from both Eugene and Robin, people at Miracle-Ear. Eugene takes all the time that's needed, never pushes me, never in a hurry. I find that if you want to wear hearing aids at least have somebody who takes care of them for you and explains issues that comes up, is great help. The receptionist Robin is always as Eugene very patient. I've been very satisfied with the care that they have given me. Any questions I ask were answered and there was always a perch of people whoever I spoke to was patient. That is the necessary quality when you're dealing with older people.

Miracle-Ear seemed to have a hearing aid that would work better for me because of the hearing loss that I have. When I got to their office, I found out that the owner of the place is one of my customers, and he has been really nice. He recommended which one I should get for my type of hearing loss. He seemed to be real confident in knowing what he was talking about. Then I got the behind the ear model and I could hear everything now. Because of my hearing range, I don’t hear the higher notes so they had to compress it and it does make it sound a little funny sometimes. Music feels different than it used to be. But once I got used to it, it seems to be okay. I do have a problem with the battery because it only lasts for about an hour and half, and there's something going on with it. I have to take them back up there to get them checked.
The sales and customer service teams were great, friendly people and they're right on the ball. They took care of any problems that I had right away, even when my dog ate one of the hearing aids. When I had a question, they could answer it right away. They were very pleasant to deal with, very confident in knowing what to do and what to change, some little adjustments, and they took their time. They explained and followed up on everything to me and so I'm real happy with them. Of course, it would be better if they were open till midnight so I had more time to visit.

I went to Miracle-Ear and I had a real good service and a little bit more personal one. I have an electronic background myself and I knew what they were talking about. They talked with more sense to me because the other one that I went to couldn’t tell me anything. The last technician they had at Princeton was over and beyond the others. He knows more about what he's doing because he got me hearing that I haven't had before. I got the one behind the ear because in one ear, I had a lot of wax and then I slept quite a bit, and so I wanted it so that it wouldn't get wet.
The biggest thing that I see over any other contact that I had with other companies is the repeat service and the fact that they want to be sure that they're working. A lot of other companies don’t schedule you back in for a checkup. If you want to go, you can. If you don’t, you don’t. Like my brother, he left his in the box for a long time because it was stocked up and wasn’t cleaned so it wasn't helping him at all. With my hearing aid, I clean it myself and then they change the tubes every four months because there's wax in them that I can't get out. I was going there and they had to change technicians. When I did, they had two or three that came periodically but there's one who's better than the others and better in adjusting the hearing aid. Since having my Miracle-Ear, the kids can talk to me now which they couldn’t do before because I had a real bad hearing. It's been a radical change in life because now, I can also hear music a lot better. It's not perfect but it's so much different than it was before.

The hearing aid company that I used before moved out of town twice during the time that I was with them and I was afraid that if they moved again, they'd get even further away. So, I called Miracle-Ear and got a hearing aid from them. I've had them for a little over a year now and I'm satisfied with them. This is the first time I was ever fitted for a hearing aid in one visit. I went there to have my hearing tested and I walked out with a hearing aid that same day. That, in itself, impressed me a lot. In the past, with the other instruments I'd used, they'd have to make molds and it took several weeks for these to come in, and in the meantime I wasn't hearing anything.
The hearing aid I got goes in the ear but has a little port that goes behind my ear. When I talked to the rep, Landon, I understood that my hearing loss was pretty profound, and he recommended that style because he felt like it would serve me better. The two instruments that I had before worked in the ear, and my last set was a full shell. Some people prefer something that's not visible, but it does not bother me what the hearing aid looks like, and the full shell fronting didn't concern me at all. All I want to do is hear.
So far, my experience with Miracle-Ear and the staff over there in Belmont has been nothing but good. The staff there are really nice. Landon is very helpful and listens to what I say, and then does what he needs to do to improve my hearing. I've enjoyed going for my hearing test. It's been very pleasant. In about 14 months, the only problem I had is getting in for cleanings because they're in Belmont and their hours of work are pretty much same as mine. When I first started looking at Miracle-Ear, the brochure that I received said that Saturday appointments were available, but I have since found out that they're not. So that presents a problem for me when I need to go in for service or anything else. However, they tried to work around my schedule and gave me an earlier appointment as much they could, and that's been really helpful.
I hear a lot better obviously with the hearing aid. I still have trouble talking on the phone, but my hearing is much better now than it was before. Without my Miracle-Ear hearing aid, I hear very little. It has helped, especially with my young grandkids, since it was difficult for me to understand them before. I have talked to a couple friends about the Miracle-Ear hearing aid. They haven't done anything yet because money is a problem for them and they're in pretty tight circumstances, but they would consider getting the hearing aid if they had the money.

I also have knocked them out on the floor once with a pick for my hair. The use is sporadic. What happens is, I get ready, get dressed, and then if I remember, I put in the hearing aids. I probably should put it in as soon as I wake up, but I don't do that. On the other hand, customer service was excellent.

I was investigating another hearing aid, but Miracle-Ear had a system where I could change the tones. The other system did not have that, so I went with Miracle-Ear and got the behind-the-ear aids because it fit in with the hearing loss that I had. Every four months, it's checked for free, which is a big plus for me because I've had it for a number of years now. There's also an annual hearing test, and I can call them anytime with any questions.

They suggested I go with the hearing aid that goes into the ear with the bud and I’m real satisfied with it. It’s made my hearing better. I still have a problem in large crowds, but that’s to be expected because that’s just the way they’re made. I've talked to other people and they’ve gone to Miracle-Ear, too.

Miracle-Ear is a good hearing aid. It may fall a little short sometimes because my hearing is getting worse, but it certainly serves the need and helps me to a much greater degree. As far as the age of it is concerned, it's good too. It's a positive experience overall.

I go to a doctor, Rachel, a young lady in Libertyville, and she's very good, very professional and quick to roll. Miracle-ear is really good about calling and having me come in for hearing tests. I was hoping that the receiver-in-the-canal model wouldn't be seen as easily and that is working out well. I am a pastor and so of course, it's important that I hear people, and so Miracle Ear hearing aid has greatly improved one-on-one conversation and also while being in a conference room talking with a group of people, it's been a great asset. I've had Miracle-Ear hearing aid for a while. I got one that has the wire that goes over the ear. I recently lost them when I was going to the hospital on August 1st. I found one back but I haven't found the other. I also had a 3:00 appointment the other day because my hearing aid charger turns red several times instead of staying green and I had no idea why. The charger has three lights, one is green and then the other two when you put in the hearing aids and close the charger, it will show up green, one for the left side and the other for the right side. Although sometimes when I've called, they're not there anymore, like Friday afternoon when I wasn't able to get any service because the guy was doing something else apparently. But, the place where I got it have nice people and they answered my questions.

Nobody wakes up on morning and think it's gonna be a fun day once their hearing aid’s stuck in their ears, so it's a nuisance. But the upside of having hearing aids is I can hear stuff. I drove past the Miracle-Ear sign on a road on the way home from work and I got the little one that fits behind my ear with a little wire that runs down and goes into my ear. They weren't the top of the line. They're almost $7,000 and the top of the line was even more expensive, but it's the one that best suited my needs because they're easy to take in and take out, and I'm satisfied with them.
A part of the problem with my hearing aids though is that most people’s ear canal is perfectly straight shot from the ear straight back to the eardrum. Mine has a little quirk in it and it makes it difficult to get the hearing aids in and out. It also makes it difficult to block out all of the outside noise that accompanies the hearing aid and sometimes I get some little screeching. The teller whom I go to actually filled my ears with silicon and made a little mold of both of my ears. The things that I put in my ears don’t look like those little bitty umbrellas. It's a solid hunk of rubber that sticks down in there and it doesn’t show but that blocks the outside sound, and due to the fact that it blocks the outside sound, it eliminates screeching noise that I might get and that makes it easier for me to hear. Yet, it's not quite as pleasant having that due to the ears clogged up like that.
The hearing aids are meeting my expectations but another part of the problem is it's about 88 or 90 degrees in Northern Kentucky and the humidity is up to an unbelievable 80%. I've been out using a chainsaw cutting some firewood, taking some trees down, and sweating like crazy and I had to take the aids out because when I sweat, they start screeching. For my particular lifestyle, I don’t use them about half of the time because of the outside work that I do and decibel level of the work that I'm doing makes them very annoying. Of course, nobody needs to hear a chainsaw better nor hear the tractor any louder than it already is. Outside on the farm, they're minus 0 but when I come in the house or I'm doing things that normal people do like going out to the restaurant, talking to my wife, watching television, or socializing, then they're number 5.
The fellow Mike who is my hearing aid specialist is really topnotch and extremely concerned. When I first got them, he would actually call the house and wanna know how I was getting along or if there was anything he could do. He wanted me to come back once a week, adjust, and feel it around with them. I went once a week to the office for about eight weeks and I took some classes that involved trying to learn how to hear a little bit better with using hearing aids. There were these scenarios where I would have somebody talking really, really fast, another with somebody talking but with a lot of background chatters going on, and then with somebody talking real softly. These little computer modules that I took were effective and are helping me a little bit that way.

Miracle-Ear had a deal going for $895. The only problem was that it cost me about eight times as much. But with the hearing aids, my selective hearing is no longer selective. I liked the one that goes behind the ear so I got it. The only qualm I have is there's a little piece that goes up along the inside of the ear that holds it in place. I refer to it as the “pigtail” and it's not very thick. I've broken two of them already. It’s a thin fishing line type except that when I'm cleaning the piece that goes into the ear canal, I have the tendency to bend it because of the way I hold it in my hand. Every time I clean it, I bend it a little bit more. It works itself around and ends up snapping because it’s being bent so much. I wish Miracle-Ear could’ve gone a little bit faster replacing the "pigtails". I’m very well-satisfied with Judy too who has done a good job. She told me that if I have any problems, I should bring the hearing aids back in and they'll take care of it right away. And they do.

Their problem is their location. We couldn’t find the store when we tried to find it for the first time. Our son was down near there. I didn't even know that little place was there even though it's near a grocery store. The shop's location is not good. It was placed it in a little shopping area behind a senior center thinking it would be a good place but it's just not getting a good clientele. When it came to the time to get another set of hearing aids, I looked into something else. I thought Miracle-Ear was with Sears and there’s Sears all over the United States, so I figured it would be easier to access whenever needed. I decided to go with Miracle-Ear because I do a lot of traveling and if I needed something done, I probably could.

I hate Miracle-Ear Hearing Aids. There’s nothing wrong with it, my mother and I can still hear but we're not hearing the right words. I went to their branch with my neighbor and they gave me ten words and they said it and I heard all of them. When we went over them, I had eight out of ten wrong, I would have sworn that they weren’t telling the truth if I didn’t have my neighbor with me. It’s something like they said liar, I said fire
I had curly hair and wear glasses, so with the first hearing aid I bought, my hair kept pulling up the wire and it kept falling out. I kept having problems with the first model but then I remembered they said I could try the other ones. I changed model and I’m doing much better with the one inside the ear. The guy did a good job. If I happen to lie down, I put my head against the couch, it's in the way and something I have to get used to.
I know other places don’t have a replacement. If the aids fall out, I'd be stuck. Here, there’s an insurance policy for $14.85 a month, together with my battery pack, in case I lose it, like the first one I had that falls off. Fortunately, I was home so I would keep finding it but it had me under terrific stress so once I had that policy, then I knew I’m okay. The funny thing is it fell out one time when I was in the theater but fortunately, I was talking to somebody, else, it would have been gone. Other than that, I haven’t been losing it with it being inside the ear.

With my Miracle-Ear hearing aids, I can hear things that I’ve never heard in my life. I got a receiver-in-the-canal hearing aid, which has a microphone and all the electronics that go behind the ear. It was recommended by the dispenser. I went back after a short time because of a couple of issues. The dispenser then took a mold of the ear and ordered a set of in-the-ear units, and they did not work out as well, so he switched me to the behind-the-ear.
Not too long after I got them, we went up to Indiana for a few months and I needed to have something looked at. The people at Miracle-Ear got the information up to the place in Indiana and they took care of me. The original dispenser has done a great job, but unfortunately, I live over an hour away and he has been having some medical issues and is going to retire if he hasn’t already. Because of that, I decided to transfer all my stuff up to some place closer to where I am, and the people there have also been very helpful.
I've been to four Miracle-Ear locations, and they’ve been very professional, helpful, and didn’t try to upsell me anything. Additionally, after roughly a year of having the hearing aids, which were $6,000 a pair and the top of the line, Miracle-Ear came out with their Genius model. The original dispenser checked into it and he upgraded me to the Genius at no cost. However, everybody thinks that one's hearing has to have been damaged while in the military, so it has to be a service-connected disability to get hearing aids from the VA, and that’s what the original dispenser told me as well. I found out that was not the case. Any eligible veteran can get hearing aids from the VA. With that said, the Miracle-Ear hearing aids are far superior to the ones I got from the VA. In fact, I’ve been trying to talk to Miracle-Ear about the possibility of getting their stuff into the VA pipeline because my experience with VA stuff has not been good.

The different hearing aids were well-explained - what they would do and what I could expect. I thought it was a good job done by their reps. They were very professional.

My husband, Ron, also wears them and we need new ones but we can't afford them.
I have the Behind-The-Ear because they're the most powerful ones they make so far and the only ones that I can wear. I am so deaf. If I take my hearing aids out, I do not hear. You could send off a siren and I wouldn't hear it. I went to another hearing aid place and they tried to give me the in the ear one which was ridiculous. So I went back and pulled out the more powerful hearing aids that I had from Miracle-Ear. As for my husband, he recently lost so much of his hearing but his is more of a nerve damage hearing so he has the one that goes over the ear and one that goes in the ear.
