My new couch has wrinkles after you sit on it that stay looks like a used couch. La-Z-Boy thinks it’s acceptable within their specs. Will never buy La-Z-Boy and will pass on my pics of this sad piece of furniture. Rating 0 but won’t take it.

I ordered the Natalie ottoman to match my Natalie sectional. The ottoman dimensions are three inches shorter than what was stated on the catalog and website. My ottoman has a 16 inches height. The catalog and website both state the Natalie ottoman has a height of 19 inches. I reached out to customer care via email and no one has responded to my concern. I feel like I got ripped off. Looks like I will be filing a small claims court to resolve this issue.

I purchased a recliner and couch from La-Z-Boy in November. I finally received it weeks after I was supposed to get it. The couch and recliner look beautiful and both are comfortable. The problem is the recliner. When I put the foot rest down, it makes a horrible loud noise like an mini explosion. I had their Comfort Care people come look at it and he says that the noise is normal. I assure you that if any of the recliners I sat in at the store made this kind of obnoxious noise I would never have purchased anything. As I just got off the phone with the Comfort Care people again, I am still fuming as they are telling me they can do nothing. Time will tell, but I certainly won't be shopping at La-Z-Boy ever again.

My parents ordered a set of La-Z-Boy recliners when I was 16 years old - back in 1993. We enjoyed the recliners and they were heavily used for years. Fast forward to 2008 when my husband and I were starting our own family. We inherited the set of La-Z-Boy recliners from my parents. Now they were in heavy use again with my husband, myself, and eventually four children (as well as four foster children!). Fast forward to 2019. We still have the recliners sitting in our family room. We believe now that they are indestructible. They are still in great condition! Our recliners are a true testament to La-Z-Boy's commitment to building quality furniture. Thank you for giving us a product that has lasted us for two generations!

Less than 2 years after our purchase of a sofa and love seat and also purchasing an extended warranty, a seat cushion on the love seat is coming apart at the seam. La-Z-Boy sent pictures to the Corporate office but they offered no assistance at all except that for another $150.00 we could have a replacement cover. Extremely shoddy customer service and obviously shoddy furniture. I will never shop there again.

I went to Belpre Furniture before Christmas and ordered a couch and recliner. I was told it would arrive in 6 weeks. Well, here we are in February and no furniture. Belpre Furniture says it’s on a truck. It’s been on a truck for over a week. Belpre Furniture says it’s a La-Z-Boy truck and they have no way to track it. So, I called La-Z-Boy. They say Belpre Furniture is an independent store and it's up to them to track the furniture. Then they transferred me to Belpre Furniture. I will never patronize either again and will begin trying to get my down payment back tomorrow. Both were rude and not helpful. Don’t buy anything from Belpre Furniture or La-Z-Boy. That’s my recommendation.

My first repair appointment I sat home for two hours waiting and five minutes before the window of time was closing he called to say he wasn't coming. I was livid and after I left the house they did send somebody. My son was home and said the person was quite rude. In the end I was right that the visit was needed. Second visit, now that parts have been received and a date has been set. NO phone call telling me the time frame. None. I called the general number and was able to find out that it was indeed still scheduled. The window is almost closing again and no sign or word from the repair person. I will never do business again with a company with so little regard for their customers.

6 months ago we purchased two chairs from the Vernon Hills IL La-Z-Boy Gallery. Upon delivery we knew they were broken. They made clunking noises when we sat down and swiveled. They also rocked, because the bases were cracked, not because we ordered rockers. Plus there is no lumbar support, which makes them very uncomfortable. We called and complained within an hour of receiving them. A serviceman came a couple of weeks later and ordered new parts, when they arrived the parts were wrong.
When the new parts came they were broken. We wanted to return the chairs. The store said it was up to service dept. Service said it was up to the store. After speaking to store and service I called corporate. I was told they'd be repaired and I would receive a partial refund for my troubles. The chairs were never repaired properly and I've never received the refund. We went shopping for new chairs today. I made a very expensive mistake by going to La-Z-Boy. Never again!

I purchased a rocker recliner in 2016. Recently, the lever fell off. After attempting to re-attach it several times unsuccessfully, I purchased a replacement handle with bolt from La-Z-Boy in Bend. It will not install correctly, it appears the area it bolts into is stripped. I emailed customer service and never received a reply. I called local store ho told me I would be charged to pick up and $60.00 an hour to repair! It is mechanical failure on a 3 year old product! I am livid!! I will NEVER shop La-Z-Boy again as their once long lasting products can now be considered disposable after a few years!

In less then 3 years and not much usage the fabric started changing color and texture. At my expense the fabric was replaced on three pieces, it then looked loose and not sitting properly on the units. Service came again and ordered foam to be placed under the fabric, also at my expense. This has not been installed but has arrived at my home. I received 3 pieces of foam at a price way exceeding their value. If foam is required this looks like a product failure and should be no cost for repair. I would like a employee of the manufacturer to come see this not an outside repair company. We bought your product because we trusted you over less expensive sectionals, but the repairs that have been required and additional cost make this a questionable decision. Please contact me so we can resolve this problem.

I saved my money to buy a "good" couch. I have had my couch since last March. I live alone. I am the only one that sits on it, and I usually sit on the end near a lamp so I can read. The seat cushions are fine, but the cushions on the back are sunken in. They don't hold their shape. It's like the stuffing is just too soft to hold the shape. I am disappointed. (I am not a heavy person, so that's not the reason the cushions don't hold their shape.)

I purchased 2 Rowan power recliners, adjustable lumbar, headrest. I paid over $2300.00 for the set. They didn't have this model in the store in the power, just the manual but they did have the less expensive model in power. We tried it, liked it and bought it. This model is NOT the same. The leg rest DOES NOT come up as high as the cheaper model, one chair is thinner than the other, (the store is going to replace the cushion) and it "clicks" as it is reclining! I paid a lot of money for these chairs and hate them. They are not comfortable at all. I have many Lazyboy furniture pieces and am very happy with them, but not these chairs. I think defective chairs should be replace not repaired. What options do I have? Stand behind your product, I don't want these chairs! They are broke after 1 month, They are not comfortable! I had an almost 10 year old rocker recliner that was coming apart at the side arm frame. A little over 2 weeks ago, I called La-Z-Boy to see if there was anything that could be done. They asked me to send in a few photos before scheduling a service person to come to my home. After a few days, I got a voicemail that I would be receiving a full credit of the purchase price of the original chair. After having 3 other people listen to the message to make sure my hearing wasn't bad, I called to confirm. Cassandra, the representative did confirm that they would be in contact with my local store to issue the store credit. Not an hour later, I got a call from Elizabeth, at my local store, inviting me to come in and have a look around, and also gave me the store manager's name, Darren, in case I needed a manager for anything.
We went and selected a new chair, and it was delivered a short while ago. Chicago was hit by a pretty good snowstorm last night, yet Javi and Armando were able to deliver my chair 30 minutes into my 3 hour delivery window. That's pretty impressive! My whole experience has been amazing, and I could not be more pleased with the service your employees provided, from the 800 number to the delivery guys...100% professional. Thank you La-Z-Boy!!

I purchased a power recliner in 2013 for my husband from La-Z-Boy in Reno, Nv. for $1500. I had to transport it to their service dept. twice in the first 3 years because plastic parts broke and I had to pay for labor to install new parts. Evidently the last time they worked on it, a bolt was left out completely. One of the motor actuators broke at the end and a new one is $200+. I am sure the missing bolt caused the aluminum pot metal actuator to break. I informed the service dept. but they don't care. I have tried to find a used part on eBay but none available. I would never purchase a La-Z-Boy item ever again. I have a useless chair after 5 years.

Call corporate and they tell you what you want to hear. Quality of product, does not exist for La-Z-Boy anymore. I don't think I have been lied to like this in all my life. Don't pay with your credit card, they store the card in case of a dispute and they keep hitting the card. They can't deny they did this, I have proof. I would rate this a zero but there is no selection for it. When I purchased my sofa 2 years ago I purchased the Ultra Shield 5 year protection plan, because I have pets and it covers pet stains. I've called them twice in the last 2 years and both times they "reviewed" my claim and denied it so they would not come out and clean the stain. I followed all their protocols (call within 5 days of the incident, send pictures, identify the stain) and they still would not clean the stain. When I was sold this protection plan, La-Z-Boy told me I could also call Ultra Shield any time to have my entire couch cleaned. This is untrue. The coverage includes a spot clean of the incident, IF you can get them to come out. And, if they clean a spot and can't get it out and you get another spot on the same couch cushion, the warranty is void on that cushion. Worst warranty ever. Shame on La-Z-Boy for selling this!

I really wish I would have seen the other reviews here... I would have second guessed my purchase. Dropped about like everyone else on a sectional having always known of La-Z-Boy's quality. This thing is a giant piece of crap. Have had it less than a year - have to constantly pull threads from the cording, the seat material is stretched and wavy, the partially attached cushions at this point look like we got the thing at a second hand store. Get customer service out - the only response is, "Yeah the fabric does that". It looks like trash and that's exactly where it's going to go. I could buy crap quality couches every year for what I paid and treat them as disposable... I wish I had. Nothing like making your customers feel like a fool for buying your product there La-Z-Boy.

I purchased a recliner 1 1/2 years ago with a warranty. 2 mos. after purchase they had to come out and repair. Well I'm having the same problem again. I was told that I have to bring it in and pay for labor. He told me that I had a 1 year labor. I said that "The recliner will not fit through door with the back on. When you all brought it to me, you brought it in, in 2 pieces." He told me to look at their video and it will show me how to take it apart. I told him I was 61 and I had 2 knee replacement. I told him it was the same problem. He said that the repair had a 90 days warranty. I advised him that if I had known this I wouldn't have purchased the recliner. I went to La-Z-Boy because they were known for having good product.

I looked long and hard for a leather motion reclining sofa for our den. Of course complete and real leather furniture is quite expensive ~ so when the salesperson showed me a Tyler motion reclining sofa that was made with a "leather look and feel" material in the style, color and size I wanted, I was delighted with my purchase. HOWEVER, in about 18 months the material showed obvious cracking in the cushions. I had purchased the extended warranty and contacted La-Z-Boy.
I was beyond pleased when Chris (store manager) and Jerry (salesman) told me La-Z-Boy had experienced problems with this sofa and no longer carried this product. They gave me a full credit for my original purchase and I selected a new sofa. One of the main reasons I purchased from La-Z-Boy in the first place was I thought they stood behind the products they sold. I'm glad I did... The Florida store certainly did stand behind the product and customer. I'm looking forward to receiving my new (all leather this time) sofa.

I chose a style of couch, loveseat, and recliner displayed on the showroom floor. I paid for a more expensive fabric to stand up to pets. The furniture I received was wrinkled and out of alignment. Customer service was sympathetic but I have gotten no satisfaction. They sent a technician out who replaced only one cushion (which ended up looking worse). The technician said that was all he was allowed do. I was told the person who investigates a claim is a contractor and is not a direct employee of La-Z-Boy. After many calls to Customer Service and visits to the store, I have gotten nowhere. The employees were nice and respectful, but not helpful after the purchase, so be careful buying at this store.

4 years ago I bought an oversized leather recliner rocker that retailed for nearly $2300.00. The salesman said for an additional $110.00 I could get a five year warranty that would cover anything that went wrong! B.S. After less than one year it would not lock in any position but as a rocker or fully reclined. I called and was informed that there would be a $135.00 fee for a tech to come to the house and any labor would be additional. I told them to pound sand! Recently the leather on the footrest became severely discolored and a 4" tear developed at the seam. I was told that I had to contact a co. called Servco which I promptly did, my claim was refused because they do not cover seam tears or discoloration.
They have lost a loyal customer and I inform everyone that will listen just how shoddy La-Z-Boy has became! I was told that any problem that I had in five years was covered by the warranty! You should be able to trust a rep of such an old co. From now on anything that I buy with a warranty I will record the interaction between the salesman and myself! From now on no more shoddy La-Z-Boy products for me! BEWARE!

Once parts were in almost a month to put on. Now waiting again for parts...then service.
In the meantime two back cushions have begun to break down and one of the seat cushions. Please note we did upgrade the cushions. Also the majority of the time it is only one person here and she weighs 145 pounds. I would not recommend this to anyone. Last but not least, despite using the design service, if we place the furniture where the decorator suggested we can only use 2 of the 4 recliners. I would not recommend La-Z-Boy to anyone. This is your warning. Do not buy La-Z-Boy James Sectional Sofa. The entire sofa frame is made out of press wood. There isn't any real boards anywhere to provide any support. The armrest is loose. Tech came out to evaluate the armrest and said, "YEP, it's built as intended. It's just a poor design. I've already had to repair several other customers that have broken the armrest. Nothing I can do." You are much better off going to Gardner-White or Art Van and buying furniture. Don't be fooled into thinking that just because you spent triple the cost for a La-Z-Boy furniture you are getting quality. FALSE. La-Z-Boy is same low quality as Art Van. You've been warned. This was our second experience with La-Z-Boy rocker recliners. Our first set lasted only a few years before the cushioning declined plus splits in the wood of the frame. We had them checked by the local dealer who finally said that in order to fix them we would be charged labor and pickup and delivery. That cost would have been hundreds. So last year we decided to buy new La-Z-Boy Rocker/Swivel Recliners for both of us. We bought them at our local dealer and added the stain spray to help protect them. In 6 months we noticed that the cushioning was flattening on the seats, back and arms.
A few months later we contacted the store. They sent someone out who took pictures and agreed with us that the chairs were degrading only after a little over a year. It took weeks for them to get an answer from La-Z-Boy saying the work could be done at a cost of $90 per hour plus pickup and delivery. Two chairs at that cost is way too much money for chairs that aren't old at all. So much for any warranty La-Z-Boy has! They charge high rates for repair. We will never consider buying La-Z-Boy again as they do not have quality furniture and it's a deceptive warranty. We are stuck with these chairs.

Updated on 02/28/2019: Waiting for my 5th repair in less than 9 months. Paid way too much for this shoddy work. What happens when the warranty runs out and this loveseat keeps breaking down??? Don't you think I could get a new one at this point?? A different model. While waiting for this repair, more has broken down. You used to be an excellent company. What happened???
Updated on 01/15/2019: Fourth time for repairs on the same love seat. Delivered in June 2018. All plus new repairs for the same issue. Extremely poor workmanship. Expected better for my money's worth. Sorry to say have nothing nice to say about this company. Would like a replacement but don't expect anything except continuous repairs until the warranty runs out.
Original review: Bought loveseat 6/8/18. Delivered 7/25/18. Cushions sank, deflated, squished. Repair 9/12, same problem, so on 11/21 extra foam added. Now same problem!!! 12/28. Paid $2278 for this shoddy furniture. My sis has sofa that's 40 years old, still good. Quality had gone downhill. And no recourse except to keep calling for repair. What happens when warenty ends!!?

Ordered 2 recliners on Black Friday. Paid cash. Shared that I really wanted them in time for Christmas as I was having a large family gathering. I told the sales rep AND the manager sitting nearby at a desk. NO ONE told me that I actually missed the cut off date and that it was NOT possible!! I was told it would take about 5 weeks and that she would do her best and CALL on Monday to see if they could make this happen. Never heard back AND was told by another manager that there was actually a CUT OFF date and that this was impossible. To hear back from several managers and for the final word to be "the best I can do Mrs. ** is CANCEL your order for a refund" is utter disappointment with this purchase. I have no chairs still and I am about to buy a sofa BUT I do NOT want to deal with these games again. This purchase is a lot of money and I can't say I'm happy AT ALL!

It is such a shame that after decades of being a loyal La-Z-Boy customer, we have received such poor service. The set we have now has had manufacturing defects from the start. We have dealt with multiple unsuccessful service calls and have had our requests for warranty service to be escalated to management's attention ignored. This will be the last purchase we ever make from La-Z-Boy and will dissuade all family and friends from shopping with this company as well.

To be honest, I have never gave a review in my life... but I guess everyone has a threshold of how much they will put up with. I have reached mine. 02-20-2014 we spent $4100.00 on a couch and two chairs from LB on the south-side of Edmonton from a salesperson named Veronique **. When we were purchasing them I explained to her that I can be quite hard on fabric furniture because I am 6 foot two and 225 lbs. and I was concerned that the pillows and the cushions would not hold up. She explained that they Guaranteed that they would, and if they did, they would restuff them for free. We also were talked into the protection plan for $249.95. We liked the couch and chairs so much 6 months later we bought another couch. I should have ran for the hills at that time because they charged us an extra $130.00 for the couch, and another $120.00 for the protection. but I didn't.
Needless to say 3 and a half years later we have a problem. All of the cushions and pillow are flat (as I predicted) but no worries the warranty and the protection I bought should cover it. RIght? Nope not covered, neither is the fact that where the cushion meets the arm has also worn out. I called the store. They did send someone out, called me today and said its normal wear, can't do anything because the fabric is discontinued. And they will do me a favor of 200.00 per cushion. So in closing... they will never see a dime from me. I will post this review everywhere I can and warn people about this company, and people think car salesmen are bad... They are saints in comparison to these people. By the way the upgrade to leather over the cloth on the website today looks to be 50.00

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. Bought 2 chairs in Sept 2015 for $1900. Had to pick up the chairs from warehouse since delivery would have taken another week. Chairs were defective told the warehouse, but they had me wait 2 days for a technician. Had no other furniture other than a bed which was hurting my back to be lying down so long. Have had to see a repair person yearly explaining that our backs are hurting. The frame in the back of the chair is sticking out and the other chair will not connect to the base. The service department told me no one could see me for 3 weeks, although I had received a call from a weekend technician who said I had just missed him, but he saw that I had an appointment in 4 days. 4 days later I was told that I had a phone appointment and I would have to wait 3 weeks.
After waiting 3 weeks, I was told that I will have to wait an additional 6 to 8 weeks with no furniture. I am unable to have anyone over and was left with no furniture through Christmas. I explained that we only have a kitchen table but they did not care. Went to speak to the store manager and he told me it was my fault this has taken so long, because I never contacted him. I had contacted the store and was told to try to work it out with the service department. They refused to come sooner. This is terrible customer service on every level. It is a shame that there is no client retention. Received a phone call from service stating that this a mandatory wait time, no apology.

I ordered the Luke Duo sofa and chair and a half 5/26/18 at the Rancho Cordova La-Z-Boy store (which is "independently owned and operated" which it turns out is not a positive feature). On 8/4/18 the set arrived with obvious construction defects in the sofa right arm. (The chair and a half had a screw missing and damaged legs, but these were fixed in-home by a technician a few weeks later). The sofa was reordered and delivered again on 10/13/18, and unbelievably had the same construction defect, but this time in the left arm!
Due to construction defects in the Luke, I re-ordered the Edie Duo instead, as I thought the Luke arm design (and fabric) was the problem. On 12/15/18 the Edie Duo sofa and chair and half was scheduled to arrive at 11:30 am. At 9:30 am I received a phone call from La-Z-Boy quality control for deliveries to inform me of "bad news." The Edie sofa was damaged in transit and was a safety issue and would not be delivered to me with the Edie chair and a half! They returned the sofa to the distribution center for inspection and repair (parts had to be ordered which caused a delay).
I had out of town guests arriving on 12/23/18 so I requested re-delivery on 12/22/18. The "schedule was full" for that day and they wanted to schedule on 12/23/18 - I said that would not work due to my guests arriving. So, I have a mismatched set in my living room (with La-Z-Boy tags intact and on display) while my guests are here. Of course the story behind the mismatched set is a topic of conversation! I await the re-delivery of the Edie sofa on 1/5/19, and while I am not getting my hopes up at this point (8 1/2 months after my original order!), I can with all certainty advise the buyer to beware regarding the La-Z-Boy Luke Duo product, the Rancho Cordova store, and this entire process!

Since early December I have spent many hours talking with several Customer Service Reps. regarding what I considered a premature fabric wear/deteriation in one of the headrest areas of my Leather Loveseat. Perhaps they should be called Corporate Service since every Rep. told me the exact same thing as if they were all reading from the same prepared script. It was my fault for a variety of reason and they accept no reponsibility at all.
Their solution: Since the Leather/color was discontinued in 2017 they could attempt to repair the area but the color would probably not match, or they would offer me a "very generous" 20% discount on any sales item excluding clearance items. So I either could accept a repaired but probably a two toned loveseat or spend another $1600 for a similar unit on top of the $1800 I had just spent 3 years ago. In either solution they accept absolutely no responsibility for the fabric premature wear. I will be telling my family, friends and classmates about my very dissatisfied experience with your "Customer Service" and to remember it when shopping for furniture.

I purchased a sofa from La-Z-Boy in October. After the delivery I realized the sofa had many issues. Broken foot rest, back support missing, seams were sewn crooked, top of sofa cushions were all different heights, bottom cushions all had different heights off the ground, arms were attached in two different ways. When I contacted the store they could have cared less about my problem and was told to contact customer service. I sent photos and a full explanation to customer care and they basically said, "Well this is how a recliner looks." I don't think so!
I persisted, stating I wanted my money back or the sofa replaced. After filing a dispute with Visa, threatening to go to our local District Attorney and local TV station that profiles fraud cases I did receive an invoice to give me credit for a new sofa. I suggest anyone buying from La-Z-Boy to think twice! They delivered a $3,000 piece of junk and I had to fight for them to make it right. I will never buy from them again or recommend them to anyone.

I purchased a recliner sofa from Slumberland, Minnetonka MN in April 2017. The couch was delivered at the end of May 2017. The couch started falling apart within a couple months of having it. After the footrests starting cutting our ankles and feet from nails or staples sticking out and the back would not return to a upright position and was pulling away from the center I contacted warranty repair. They sent someone out to look at it March 2018. The footrest part was replaced, but the back could not be fixed, nor could they put the end piece back in place. By June 2018 the new footrest and the old footrest both started coming apart with nails/staples sticking out. My couch was replaced in July 2018.
I’ve had this replacement couch for 5 months and it is falling apart the exact same way as my original couch. I’ve been told by Slumberland my extended warranty is not valid because the issues are considered upholstery, the warranty I took out does not cover that, there is nothing they can do. They passed me off to La-Z-Boy. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed! I have called La-Z-Boy customer care by phone and set up an account. They said they will try to locate someone who can repair it for me. I told them I don't want another repair. It is a poorly designed sofa. I would like my money back or credit towards a different piece of furniture. I have received two generic emails from La-Z-Boy asking for additional information. I am hesitant to let anyone sit on the sofa because of the injuries the nails and staple have caused to myself and my family.

We bought three recliners from La-Z-Boy less than 6 months ago (they were about $500 each). One of the legs came off and couldn't be screwed back in, so we scheduled a warranty repair visit. Even though the recliner was under warranty, La-Z-Boy charged us about $175 for the labor and shipping required to repair the recliner (making it a terrible warranty). While the leg itself was solid wood, when the repair guy opened the bottom of the recliner, we saw that the interior (i.e., what you cannot see on the surface) was cheap particle board, and the particle board had deteriorated so badly that the leg came off. The construction quality of these chairs was terrible (especially considering that the recliners weren't inexpensive) and to be charged $175 for something that was clearly a manufacturing/quality defect was offensive. We'll never purchase anything from La-Z-Boy again!

In the spring of 2018 we received 7 pieces of La-Z-Boy furniture covered with Aniline Leather which was very expensive, but according to the La-Z-Boy literature was the best we could get and the colors stayed vibrant. I wish La-Z-Boy actually had a customer service department. Somebody is pretending to be in customer service, but failed to respond to my initial multiple emails until I told them I wasn't going away. Then after I described the substantial fading they wanted photos which I sent. I am still waiting for a resolution despite it being two weeks since I provided them with everything they asked.
This is not complicated. The colors of the leather have faded to become a pale cream color when the original was a medium brown. The photos show it clearly. I explained it clearly. And before we placed an order we showed them photos of the rooms the furniture would be in, including windows, and the old furniture placement, which did not fade in 18 years.
So far their only excuse when I pointed out our RV leather furniture and car leather interiors have not faded and all they said was the leather was dyed in a different manner. Hello!!! If they knew there was a different way to dye leather and retain the vibrant colors they advertise as staying, why didn't they. La-Z-Boy needs real customer service because they have none, and they need to either rethink their lying advertising or they need to improve their product. Never again La-Z-Boy. Tues 11/27/2018 I call to confirm again...she says they are having a problem with the model number. She sent the photo to them because they say the model is incorrect. She placed that order the day after Thanksgiving 11/24/2018 even though I had called on 11/19! Why did it take 6 days to place the order??? I challenged her on not calling me back as she said she would and she said there was "no update" so she didn't need to call. A delay in the parts IS AN UPDATE. OMG. This started on 10/16... It is now 11/27 and I have ZERO confidence that the parts order is placed or that La-Z-Boy will truly be able to fulfill the "lifetime warranty on parts."
Your customer service has ZERO follow-through. I am reasonable and have NO problem with delays IF THEY ARE COMMUNICATED. So, I paid upfront (full amount) because I was too excited to get furniture for the new house and I have family visiting us (7 people) in the first week of Dec 2018. Salesman ** said they have inventory coming in so it should only take 2-3 weeks, "I will call you guys and let you know if we can do anything sooner than that." 1 week later, called store and spoke to ** and asked him to cancel rug from our order because I am not a big fan of area rugs. He first said it's CUSTOMIZED and cannot be cancelled. (WHO CUSTOMIZES RUGS?) Called him again. He said he is working on it and will cancel it. Waited for 2 weeks for him to call me and went back to the store and got it cancelled myself.
On the very same day, I asked him if everything is in line for our order and if we are getting it by the end of NOV. He said, "NO. You got everything customized and we are going to be able to deliver your order after Christmas," so most likely JAN 2019 is our expected delivery date. My house is empty so I asked his manager to see if they can accommodate me and give me any furniture old or new from store to use until we get ours because this is clearly a misrepresentation and wrong info given by salesman. He said, "No. We cannot do anything like," and cannot cancel my order because it's customized.
I escalated this to their senior manager and he said they will charge me 50% for cancellation. Again, no compensation or alternative solution offered. He said, "It is your responsibility to read the contract," which I understand. I can only read contract upfront if it was given to me before I paid for my order. Contract states 6-8 weeks. They gave me contract when I paid for my order and asked me to sign on it after.
I strongly believe this is an employee error and La-Z-Boy should be able to fix this. I understand it's customized product. They cannot put a rush on it. However they should be able to cancel it because wrong expectations were set. They can check store camera. I paid for my order and that's when I was given the invoice and on the back of invoice there are some terms and conditions which were not brought to my attention. They simply asked me sign the invoice. They have been wasting my time and effort since last week. I bought a couch last year and it's been a nightmare. The back pillows constantly bunch up and require that I remove them, stomp on them to distribute the stuffing and replace them. The seat cushions have completely shifted so the seams are on the top and I have yet to figure out how to do this without completely taking the pillows out and putting them back in, not a task I have energy for. The store came out to look and told me that it's just how the couch is made. Very bad design.

I bought a oversized rocker recliner on "sale" at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries for over $1100. I got it home and the recliner leg support was pretty wobbly side to side, for a brand new chair. Within a year or so the leg support no longer would stay up and support my legs. I called La-Z-Boy, remembering their so-called "Lifetime Warranty". They said they could send someone out to look at it but it will cost me $119 for a service call just look at it, and it could be more depending on what the fix was. So I decided to look at it myself to see what I could see. I took the back off (BIG MISTAKE) and turned upside down so I could see the workings of the leg support. I found the problem with leg support, a plastic piece, yes plastic, fell out of location and off, and that piece was supposed to support the weight of my legs. It wasn't like I abused my new chair, I spent some good money and wanted to make it last.
I got the plastic piece back in location and it worked again, problem solved, NOT! I tried and tried and tried to get the back of the chair back on, it simply would not stay attached. I turned the back upside down and where the bracket that holds the back to the base is located, on thin particle board yet, collapsed in 1 inch out of square. I take the cover off to see why and a little 3/4 inch wide soft pine corner block that was glued and "stapled" was detached. One little staple (only 2 put in total) was bent over and never penetrated. To make matters worse they attached a spring to the top of the particle board and that pulled it in even worse.
I could go on and on about the lack of quality in my La-Z-Boy but the bottom line is when you spend over $1100 on a chair by a big named dealer, I expect a little more. I wish that never bought La-Z-Boy brand and I know that I never will again, and I tell everybody I can about the poor, poor quality and workmanship. I used to build Ethan Allen chairs for a living so I have seen quality built in to a similar product. I never have written a review before but I want people to know that just because it has the name La-Z-Boy on it doesn't mean it has quality built in. I am so disappointed that I just had to write this, it did make me feel better getting this off my chest and if I can save just one person from making the same mistake I did by buying La-Z-Boy, this has been worth it.

We placed an order for custom upholstered furniture on 10/19. At that point, custom furniture was 4-6 weeks out on delivery and we were told to expect our furniture the week after Thanksgiving (11/30 - 6 weeks). When I called to inquire about the status of the order, I was told it was not even scheduled to leave the factory until 12/24 - 9+ weeks from the order date! Furthermore, I was told that we were never told the week after Thanksgiving for delivery. I am furious! Since we are moving in to a new home, I would NEVER have ordered furniture that would not have been here for the holidays! I have on La-Z-Boy products for 40 years between recliners and recliner couches. My family has also purchase La-Z-Boy recliners and still have 30 year old ones that are comfortable to sit in even though the material is worn. I purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner in June and 30 days after using it when reclined since it was a rocker recliner it would make a screeching noise. The technician came out and said, "I'll take pictures and send it to the factory. They'll let us know." I later spoke to customer service of the store I bought it from and they replace the chair. Now 5 months later the seat back lumbar support area feels like it is stuffed with rolled up socks. The customer service representative said, "Well you know they don't make things like they used to." My next Furniture purchase will be any brand but I might as well Payless for something else knowing that if it fails I can just pitch it and go buy another one for half price.

I want to start off and be clear when I say that when my wife and I started looking at furniture to put into our new house I wanted to go with La-Z-Boy because of their solid reputation and past experiences we have had. Like all things it seems these days I guess things have changed. The buying experience was fine and the sales team was knowledgeable and deliver was prompt and on schedule.
When our furniture arrived one of the leather chairs had a manufacturing defect in the right armrest and needed to be looked at by one of the service technicians. This visit was scheduled through customer care and he arrived as scheduled and ordered the necessary parts which in this case was a replacement armrest. This part arrived in a few weeks and we scheduled the tech to come back out and make the repairs.
About a week prior to the techs visit we noticed that the headrest on the right side of the sectional was peeling badly. This is obviously a huge concern since these couches are only 4 months old and have seen minimal use between my wife and myself. We also do not have any pets or children so there is no one else using this sofa but us. Now we contacted comfort care again to make our concerns known and we were told to allow the technician to look at it during his visit to replace the armrest on our chair.
When the technician arrived he removed the replacement armrest from the box and found that it was also damaged and told us that he didn't want to put it on and that we would need to order another one. We agreed and we asked him to now look at the headrest on the sofa, he did and stated that he agreed with our concern that real leather should not peel and that we certainly shouldn't be experiencing issues with anything after only four months. He said that he would write a report and that we should contact comfort care to find out what they are going to do for us to make this right. First though we removed the back of the sectional and took it to the store where we purchased our furniture and the store manager was appalled at what he saw and said that we should be allowed a full return and receive replacement furniture.
I have now reached out to comfort care on several occasions and been told that these issues do not warrant a replacement of our furniture but just a replacement of the damaged pieces. I have explained my concerns to them on the phone that I have no reason to believe that this issue will not continue with other pieces and once the factory warranty is out they would be under no obligation to do anything about it. I was told they would review the case as issues arise and deal with it then, this is totally unacceptable.
I spent almost 8,000 dollars of my hard earned money on new furniture and do not want to deal with anything. I have contacted them on several occasions and been told that a supervisor will contact me back within a few days which never happens and when I ask to speak to one I'm told they are unavailable. I have reached out to the corporate office to see if anyone is willing to help us since all we really want is what we paid for and now I'm putting this on here in the hopes that someone at La-Z-Boy gives a damn about their customers or is worried in the least about their business.

So after my Mom kept telling me to go look at furniture at La-Z-Boy (I was looking at less expensive options), I finally went in... She was buying us some of the furniture for our new home, so I checked it out. I was “captured” by the sales associates and fell in love with some pieces and the colors of the upgraded leather. Long story short, we, and my mother, purchased combined about $19K in furniture, which was an upgraded leather couch and 2 upgraded leather chairs (non-electric) and 4 pieces of wood living room furniture. Our living room looked perfect & beautiful, and we were happy, except that one of the chairs arrived with a “dent” in the back leather panel due to it leaning against something where it stretched the leather. We had a technician come to the house to assess the damage and he informed us to give it some time to see if it comes out on its own and that we had a year.
The backs of our recliners face the room, so this is a more important issue for us. So far, the dent is exactly the same as the day it was delivered, and we will need to address this, which may lead to another review. One of the options I was convinced into buying was the leather protection plan which I was assured would cover anything & everything that could go wrong with our very expensive, upgraded leather. Last week, my husband and I were putting some Frontline flea treatment on our dog. Unbeknownst to us at the time, she shook immediately after applying the treatment and it got on one of the recliners, which discolored the upgraded leather in several places. I was sick when I saw what had happened, but then realized that this was why we paid for the expensive leather protection plan I was convinced into purchasing by my sales person.
Upon contacting the warranty company, which is NOT a La-Z-Boy product, I was informed that my claim was denied because it was damage caused by a chemical which discolored the leather. This warranty company actually covers damage from cigarette burns, among other ridiculous mishaps, but will deny your claim for an honest mishap like putting flea treatment on your dog! Lesson learned, but really? I could be a drunken idiot, fall asleep with a burning cigarette and glass of booze and ruin my chair, and it’s covered — seriously? I am so disappointed, and I feel like a prize fool! I have not given up the good fight yet, but I believe it will be a fight to the end to make La-Z-Boy make things right by me — and I’m a VIP customer! BUYER BEWARE for sure! This story will continue...

Worst recliner ever, & not even a year old. When I bought it the sales rep told me that this was the best chair for comfort and back support since I have a bad back & was having pain in my shoulder. Bought it on 12/8/17 and already had to replace the seat, leg rest, and all the backing in the chair. I had shoulder surgery in April & have been out of work since because of the pain from surgery so, I have not been able to sleep in bed, so I have been practically living in this uncomfortable chair that was supposedly to be the best chair they had. When I was sitting on it, it felt like I was sitting on a board. When the repair guy came out on 9/28/18 he said the chair was crooked, leg clamps were missing on the right & left side and that the back Poly-fil was compressed.
When he sat on it he even said, "You're sitting on a board," & I said, "Yes that’s why my tailbone hurts all the time." He said he needed to order the parts and when they were all here I should call so he could come and install them. On 9/28/18 I called and spoke with a Nicole and voiced my concerns about replacing so much of the chair and would everything sit right with the new parts. She said she would have to wait till they got the repairman's report before they could tell what they would do. 10/1/18 I called back and talked to Theresa about it and she was not sympathetic at all. 10/2/18 called and talked to Maryann. Told her my concerns that my year would be up on 12/8/18 and that if I still had problems it would be out of warranty & out of my pocket. She said, "You have a year." 10/17/18 called parts are here.
10/23/18 talked to Theresa. Not up to comfort level. She said it’s built to the design & there’s no other changes to be made. My mom even sat in it & said she felt like she was sitting on a board and this is after they replaced everything. My mom buys La-Z-Boy all the time. That’s the only furniture she has in her house & she said this is the worst piece of furniture she has ever seen. 11/6/18 called to speak to supervisor & got Nicole, she wanted me to email her pictures of the chair so she could see what it looked like. 11/8/18 emailed pictures to Natalie. Natalie called and said that she would talk to the next level of support so they could review the report & pictures. I told her that I told them comfort level not up to what I thought it would be after repair was done. It’s just as BAD! And that I was told comfort level is subjective, repair is unit built to specifications & built to design and repair would be as is, no other changes to be made.
11/12/18 Natalie wanted more pictures at a different angle and said she would get back to me either later that day or the next. Well she didn’t so on 11/15/18 I sent her an email saying I hadn’t heard from her like she said & that if she could please call me. 11/16/18 still no call so I called in and talked to Moses and said I was dealing with Natalie. He asked if he could help and I said I was dealing with her, so he said he would let her know I called. 11/17/18 called corporate office and left a message for the president Don Butcher to call me. No return call. Whatever happened to the customer is always right & customer satisfaction!

We decided to buy a La-Z-Boy couch and sofa since there is a lifetime warranty and supposedly they are the best builders of couches. Well the problem here starts with the engineering of this product. After about a month, the area just under the armrest, where your elbow floats down... Since not everyone leaves their arm UP on the armrest (which is padded). There is an exposed (just under the material... Not padded at all) right angle of plywood! The sofa was really bad and they took a while to send out a new arm then another week to install it only to find that this arm is no better! Meanwhile the COUCH arms, just under the padded top have worked the padding away, exposing a hardwood edge which we have bruised our elbows on, forgetting it is there.
Our Sam's Club recliner couch didn't have this! I called our local number and asked a customer service rep to give me her superior. I told her that these couches are poorly engineered and actually harming us! I asked about adding some padding so we don't keep hitting our elbows on the exposed wood. She told us they cannot alter it or it will void the warranty. Then she said the couch won't operate properly if there is padding added. I beg to differ... It would be fine. She said MAYBE we can pay a 30% "RESTOCKING FEE" and then get credit for the rest for other couches. Then she said these items that they are "RESTOCKING" will be destroyed!!! The other option is that WE sell them! So I am supposed to pay them $900.00 to destroy a poorly engineered couch?
On top of that, when we first got them, the footrest had staples all the way out, gouging my husbands calf. They came in, admitted the staples are not supposed to go out that far then sewed it. Well the sewn part lasted about 2 weeks and it is popped again. The repairman was SUPPOSED to fix that when he put in the arm and was supposed to figure out why both recliners on the couch seemed to stick when reclining. Again our $250.00 Sam's Club recliner couch didn't stick and there was no exposed wood to bang their elbows on! To tell me "No one else complained" is quite demeaning. I said, "Is it possible we just got a bad couch and sofa? Isn't replacing the arm an admission to a poor design?" On a side note, the conduction of electrostatic on these couches is beyond painful! We are shocked EVERY time we get up! Just not happy with La-Z-Boy.

This company does not have the quality merchandise that it did before it sold out to comfort care. The foam padding and Dacron in the seat and back of my rocker recliner has failed. I can feel the wood frame through the padding. This chair is less than three years old. I called La-Z-Boy comfort care and they want to charge me $100 service call to just come to my house. I have contacted furniture reupholstery companies to get the padding replaced and it would cost me more to do this than to go out and purchase a new chair. There is no way for the padding and foam rubber to be replaced, without completely removing the fabric.
This is where the expense comes in at getting it reupholstered and or repaired. I do have a La-Z-Boy chair that is close to 40 years old, and the padding and foam in that is still good. Even though when you sit down in their furniture, it feels soft and cushy, it will break down and need to be replaced not long after the warranty expires. Beware. Ask questions. Don't just purchase it because it feels good.

Finally got a confirmed date and then the delivery guys couldn't find the house even though everyone else who has ever delivered has been able to.
Forward a few months and the recliner already had to be repaired. It was a DIY job, but seriously the thing can't stay together a few months? Now we have a motorized part on the sofa that no longer works, only a few months from purchase, and they want $85 to come out and fix their crappy furniture. We have purchased several items of leather covered furniture over the years. We were always assured by sales staff that the leather process used by the company ensured that the leather would not discolor, fade, peel etc. The first set of recliners we had for 18 years and true to the claim, the leather withstood daily use, grandkids, pets etc. The second item an overstuffed sofa which we have had for 12 years also had no discoloration, fading, peeling etc. However in 2017 we purchased 2 replacement recliners and again received the same pitch that the leather would not discolor, peel etc. In less than a year, the finish on the leather started to deteriorate which we reported. The company sent a person out to take pictures of the problem.
After 3 months with no report from customer care rep, I contacted her. Immediate response, they think it is the result of body oils, hair products or something else that we caused. Ignoring the fact that our leather sofa was not showing any of that discoloration. In October, I drafted a letter outlining the above, informed them that either the sales staff had misrepresented the product or that the batch process on the leather used had a quality control flaw. I suggested a remedy that we could accept and we would then purchase 2 new recliners from them. To date I have not heard a response. The copy of the receipt is purple ink on pink paper and is illegible but is dated October 5, 2017. My next move will be to contact legal counsel.

Ordered 9-8-18 but still have nothing. At the time I ordered this chair, the sales woman told me I should receive delivery of it in less than 6 weeks. That period of time has come and gone. I did call the store but was told there was at least a week's delay before the order was sent in but that I should receive advice of my balance due and a delivery date by the next week. Nearly two weeks have elapsed since the telephone call and I have heard nothing from La-Z-Boy. Customer service seems to be lacking here. A telephone call or email explaining the delay and estimated time of delivery would be nice.

I purchased a beautiful electric recliner couch 12-13 17 from Jeff, wonderful and helpful salesman. That is where it ended. July 5th of 2018 with my purchase only being 6 months old the trouble started. I was vacuuming my couch cushions when I noticed the material was fraying. I don't have an industrial vacuum, just a Hoover Wind Tunnel. For 6 months I was given the runaround trying to get something positive done. In the meantime I was informed that the material was discontinued. I wonder why.
Finally someone at Comfort Care informed me they could not help me. At the present time I am stuck with an 1,800 sofa that has a hole in it. I thought when I was purchasing a La-Z-Boy sofa I was getting the best of the best. I was treated with more respect from Furniture Factory Warehouse in San Antonio. I thought La-Z-Boy had high standards, I was wrong. I would never recommend this store to anyone. The bad part is I still owe 500.00. So much for the last couch I would purchase. I see Lacks is here in Corpus. Now looking forward to a couch that will not get a hole in it, and a company that stands by its quality.

My dad bought one of your power recliner XR+ chairs 2 years ago after he well researched which chair was best for his medical condition. Your chair was #1 so he went down to the store and tried the demo out and ordered one to be made. Since its delivery he has had issues with the foot rest catching his carpeting. My dad being disabled was unable to use he body to push back and lift and relied completely on the remote control to ease his legs up and lift him back, which in the store it did perfectly (but you didn't account for carpet). My dad called numerous times until a rep was finally sent out to investigate. His solution was to accuse my dad of trying to back out of his contract that there was nothing wrong with the chair. I tried to suggest the chair needed a lift but he argued again that nothing was wrong with the chair.
Again my dad kept calling until in June 2018 a rep by the name John ** came out and inspected the chair and he understood the issue we had with the chair as now the carpet underneath the footrest was showing the wear and tear from the movement. Mr. ** took pictures and documented the issues, soon after his inspection he sent out an email stating that an adjustment was needed and needed to be further reviewed as the concern was unresolved. My dad sent out an email to La-Z-Boy on or about August 19, 2018 asking when his chair was going to be repaired? as it has been 2 months. On or about August 24, 2018 La-Z-Boy rep Ashleigh ** sent an email stating sorry for the delays but they were sending all the photos and reports to the product specialist to be reviewed. Once they have a determination they will contact you to discuss. Meanwhile more and more my dad used the chair it wore more and more into the carpeting.
As I stated earlier my dad was disabled and that chair was his saving grace. It was a medical necessity to his survival. He only bought it due to the leg lift and remote control operation. On or about September 6, 2018 La-Z-Boy called the home and left the message that a chair raiser was ordered and a rep would be coming out to install it. Two days later dad went to use the chair and the leg lift began, made a noise and hasn't worked since. My guess was due to repair negligence the motor finally burnt out. So on or about September 8th my dad emailed La-Z-Boy again and told them, "the leg lift no longer works and he needs to raise his legs for medical reasons, this is why I purchased the chair. Please tell the repairman to come out. Please I need this fixed." No one has ever called back, emailed or came out.
Now let's fast forward to TODAY...no actually let's fast forward to this coming Friday November 2nd when my father, who bought this chair for medical reasons back on August 22, 2016; has complained about the same issue since day one and since the chair stopped working in September, his medical issues rapidly declined from being unable to use the chair to raise his feet is being laid to rest as he passed away on Saturday. How can it take your company over two years to know about an issue and yet still not fix it. This chair has cost me more than you will ever know; $2000 for its purchase, a worn carpet, medical bills and a $6000 funeral. I still have this broken chair in my house and it still needs to be fixed but you also owe more than that. Your regard for repair follow through and Customer Care inapprehensible. 2 years and you couldn't even fix the issue...
I now see where the La-Z part comes in...in the attached pictures you will see the leg rest that is no longer operable and stuck in that position as well as the carpet which is fluffy until you get to the front of the footrest it is all smooshed and matted down with pieces of carpet pulled up in spots from being caught in the drag of the footrest.

One of the two recliners we purchased has a hole on the left side between the top and seat that I can put my fist through. The saleslady from La-Z-Boy came, took photos and agreed that it was not right. They ordered a new back. When the man brought it, the hole was still there. He stated that he would not have me sign the paperwork because he thought something was wrong with the frame. Jessica at La-Z-Boy told me they would pick it up, take it to Mobile and try to fix it. She could not tell me when it would be returned. That is unacceptable to me. They have my money and I would not have use of the chair for an indeterminate amount of time.

I found out the hard way that only La-Z-Boy's recliners are covered in real leather, love seats and couches are covered in BONDED leather, it is vinyl looking material bonded to fabric. We bought a recliner, a couch and a love seat exactly three years ago for $8,400. We also bought insurance with Ultra Shield through La-Z-Boy.
About six months ago, the vinyl started to come off on the couch. My wife called Ultra Shield. They refused to cover the damage. They only cover spills. Now, the vinyl is coming off big time in several places, even places nobody ever sat on. I called Ultra Shield again and they told me that material failure is not covered. I called La-Z-Boy and they told me that the warranty is expired, but, if I want to pay out of pocket, they will refer the claim to a serviceman. The serviceman called me and told me that the vinyl (or bonded leather, as La-Z-Boy calls it) is discontinued. After only three years, they don't even stock enough material for simple repairs. So, we are out $8,400. Why is company allowed to rip off customers?

We custom ordered 2 couches in June, 2018 after selecting them based on the floor model. After 6-8 weeks, as we were told, the couches arrived but they are not the same as what we ordered. While the color and fabric is fine, the couches are hard, sit higher than the floor model so my feet don't touch the floor, and the back of the couches are low and don't offer neck support.
We went back to the store to look at the floor model and my feet touch the floor and offers neck support. We complained and the store sent technicians out to measure the couches and the technicians agreed that indeed it didn't offer neck support and saw my feet don't touch the floor. A week later, the store called us and said there is nothing wrong with the measurements and no difference from the store model. They did not offer to make any restitution or make new couches. These are horrible sitting couches and paid nearly $3,000 for them. We will never buy La-Z-Boy again and cannot recommend the Pensacola store. Very disappointed.

We are pensioners and decided to purchase new reclining sofa, chairs and loveseat for our retirement years. We already have a La-Z-Boy rocking chair that is 40 years old and still in perfect condition. The new items we purchased cost us approx $6,000 total. We were very excited when first receiving them but soon realised that in order to have the recliners work we had to have electrical sockets to plug in the furniture in order to use the reclining motion. We should have called and asked for a refund right then and there but we didn’t because we thought this was normal for recliners, IT IS NOT, my sister bought a reclining sofa and chair from a reputable company in UK and it is silent and motor operated.
Unlike the La-Z-Boy which is noisy, squeaky and we have wires all over the place that look messy and could cause tripping injury. We called La-Z-Boy numerous times regarding the poor quality of our purchase (flattening of seating, wearing down of material, hardwood when you happen to miss the seating position, etc, etc). We included photos of the poor quality of the fabric and uneven frames of both the chairs and sofa. The loveseat fabric pilled after 4 months and we experienced very negative responses from La-Z-Boy staff. The whole experience made us want to give up, swallow the cost and buy from The Brick or Ikea. We are so disgusted with our experience, we would beg people to never shop there. Buy cheap furniture from somewhere else and when it wears out buy more; it will be far cheaper, more comfortable, and more rewarding than purchasing from La-Z-Boy.

Service came out in January and documented and agreed it was a bad batch of fabric. Reordered new sectional after I was assured there was nothing wrong with fabric. New sectional arrived in May. Started pilling again in September.
Now I am waiting for service to drop by and document. I am so frustrated! We restyled our family room based on the grey fabric of this sofa. I wasted so much time going back and forth - never even offered anything (pillows/discounts, nothing) for the first time and all the hassles. I feel I was duped - there has to be an issue with this fabric and I was encouraged and assured this was a fluke. Now with Holidays coming, I've no hope for new sofa before Christmas and will have to completely look for a new fabric. So disappointed in La-Z-Boy furniture. STOP AND READ BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ANY LA-Z-BOY PRODUCT!!! CUSTOMER BEWARE. I purchased a sofa, chair and ottoman less than 2 years ago and the frame on the sofa is already broken! I live alone and the furniture has been hardly used. I specifically purchased the set because of the brand La-Z-Boy which has always stood for quality and customer service. This is no longer that brand and La-Z-Boy no longer stands behind their product. When I contacted the store I purchased the product from they informed me that the warranty issued by La-Z-Boy only covers the material and no longer covers the labor cost. They also informed me by the time I pay for a repair (if even possible) of the frame it would cost as much as a new sofa!!
I then contacted La-Z-Boy knowing they would stand behind their product...their brand and what it USED TO mean. Well that is not the La-Z-Boy company of today. They responded with a WE DON’T CARE form email and informed me that I would need to pay for any repairs to the store where I purchased the product from... In short they don’t get involved and they don’t care. When I asked why, they said they would find out. It took over a week to get an answer, and now we are pushed back ANOTHER six weeks, which now equals 12 weeks out. If there is a manufacturing delay on these chairs, why don't the retailers have access to that information? I have sold my other chairs and am now sitting 'chair-less' thru a family event, and quite possibly the holidays.
I would think a retailer as large as La-Z-Boy would have better communication with their retailers and customers. By not telling us what was happening with this order, it makes the retailer look bad as well as corporate and it is not terribly convenient for the customer either. I complained on their website and was answered: (holding my nose here) "They have met La-Z-Boy manufacturing guidelines." In addition to those irritants, now the color of the fabric is actually RUBBING OFF on the chair arms. When you vacuum the chairs, there is no padding below the fabric, so you scrape the frame each time! I have a Flexsteel LOVESEAT and it is perfectly made; quality construction and the frame is padded so you don't catch your vacuum on the fabric each time you clean. About me: I am a 71-yr-old retired professional female, 5'4-1/2" tall,160 lbs. I am unmarried and live on a fixed income. My working career spanned 50 years. I assumed the role of property manager for the 10-unit senior condominium where I live in order to earn a little more money. My work here is 24/7. Events: On 12/19/17, I bought a special order burgundy leather electric rocker recliner from the Pensacola, FL Lazboy store: Style 1HR512, Base Cover LB133409. Total cost was $1,666.20. My lovely chair was delivered on 01/29/18.
About 03/31/18 I called the local store and reported the following: (a) The stuffing IN THE BACK had collapsed and was becoming very uncomfortable; (b) The stuffing UNDER/BEHIND THE KNEES had collapsed, putting pressure on my knees; (c) The chair jerked sideways and up and down when opening to recline and when closing to arise; (d) The chair "dinged" when I rocked, which was very annoying; (e) The back and seat portions when opened, could slide apart when changing positions. When that occurred, a gap of 4-5" existed under my bottom which exposed sharp metal parts, which was dangerous when the TV clicker (or any other object) slipped through and I reached to retrieve it.
On 03/31/18, two gentlemen from the Mobile, AL Marks Furniture came and examined and photographed the chair. The stuffing collapse was obvious. They advised that I would hear back from them or the local store in a few days. 04/06 or 07, 2018, Jessica, the local Customer Care Representative, called me to advise that I would be receiving "a new CHAIR BACK" soon via UPS or other. The Mobile store would call and arrange a pick-up of the chair and take it back with them for "repair". Three or four days later I received a large bag of foam and a small bag of foam!?? Jessica's voicemail said she was on vacation for a week and to leave a message. I left a message and waited.
On 05/08/18, the Mobile store picked up the chair and the two bags of foam and left. They returned my chair on 05/23/18. We (the Mobile team and I) noticed that the leather was quite loose over the stuffing under the knees. They offered to take it back and try again, but I needed the chair and suggested I give it a try since it was "home" again.
After a few days or so, the stuffing in the back and under the knees began to collapse again. On 07/17/18, I called the store and again left a voicemail that the back and the padding under my knees had again collapsed, and asked that someone call me back as soon as possible. (I have NEVER had a human answer the phone when I call this store.)
By July 27 when I had still not heard back from anyone, I posted a negative review online. On July 28 I received an email from Jessica wanting to schedule another service call for August 1(someone with La-Z-Boy had obviously seen my complaint). I told her I was at the point where I believed it was best that I request a refund. She asked that we try this again. I was unavailable on August 1, but we agreed to a service call on August 8, 2018.
August 8, the Mobile crew showed up and agreed the chair was obviously not in satisfactory shape, and offered to take the chair and try again. I said I preferred to keep the chair until we decided what to do. They took more photos which showed the sagging leather in the BACK and the LEG REST and left. August 10, Jessica emailed that she was submitting the photos and "repair" history to La-Z-Boy Product Support and Warranty and would let me know when she heard back.
On August 10, I received a box of what felt like foam but in fact was a SEAT and FOOTREST portion that is so under-padded that it obviously will not work.(BUT WHAT ABOUT MY BACK portion???) On September 3, I called the store again. Every time I call the store I reach a message and have to leave them a message, which I did. No one has ever called me back.
On September 10, I DROVE to the local La-Z-Boy store and spoke to a young man about the problems I am having getting satisfaction from them. He directed me to a woman named "Ann". I patiently told her briefly about my chair issue and her solution was to write down and give me an email address for another La-Z-Boy employee, Mat **, at **. I tried to tell her that I have been trying since March to get some relief, but she insisted that "Mat" can help me and turned to resume her conversation with another lady. Needless to say I left very discouraged.
Today is October 11 and to say that I am disappointed with La-Z-Boy is a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT! So far, so good. Today (10/11/18) I discover that the leather surface of the headrest is de-laminating and called the same service department. The representative looked up my file, stated that I had not purchased the extended warranty, and blithely stated there was nothing he could do.
Apparently the "Lifetime Limited Warranty" does not cover anything except wood and metal. In what came off as a well rehearsed speech, I was told the leather deterioration was due to "body oils or something else in the house", despite the fact that he hadn't even seen the problem, and despite me pointing out that I have two leather Stress-less Recliners, that the same people have been sitting in, in the same house, for over 15 years, that have shown no sign of similar deterioration. A guy called to tell us it would be over $100 dollars to come to the house and check it out, I said that’s ridiculous so I sent him pictures. He seemed shocked and told me it would be $600 to fix it. I said forget it.

La-Z-Boy delivered damaged furniture... scraped and scratched leather and more unseen damage after the sofa, standing up on its arm with no protection fell over. Store said they would "rebuild" it. After thinking about it, no returned phone calls, 2-week lapse in parts ordering, keeping all our money, we decided we did not spend $7000.00 for REBUILT furniture! The poor customer service made us realize that there was no way any warranty would be honored. A week after purchase, our sales rep. tells me that for the next 10 years, I would have to drive 45 minutes to the store to have my leather conditioner bottles filled up and use at least 4 times a year. If any other product used, the warranty would be null and void... one of many facts they do not tell you at time of purchase. READ THE CONTRACT!!! It is very one-sided in favor of La-Z-Boy.

Chair is awful. You can tell it wasn't built well. This is the third time that we'd have to have a repair guy to come fix the footrest. Only my husband sits in it so it's not handled roughly. Cheaper to buy a new chair!

I bought a sectional couch and an ottoman for $5000 with the 5 year warranty 7/2016. The couch itself is great but the material is garbage. After about a year I noticed the leather or faux leather, whatever it is, started to peel away from the fabric. This stuff is as thin as paint. Now it is doing it over the whole sectional and ottoman. I called La-Z-Boy and they told me I would have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I also called the 3rd party warranty company for the plan I purchased and they denied my claim based on the fact that they don’t cover peeling. So really what was the point paying for something I can’t use? I then called La-Z-Boy back and was still told I would have to pay out of pocket to get my 2 year old $5000 couch fixed.
I was also told by someone in the La-Z-Boy company that this is a known problem. As soon as I mentioned what kind of material I had on my couch they knew exactly what the problem was. I think it’s bs that they will not stand by their product and fix what they know is wrong. There should be more help for something that is only 2 years old other than having to fork out more than the $5000 I paid.

The La-Z-Boy chairs are heavy and well-built and our customer experience was good, BUT - we have been buying recliners for over 40 years and our recliners are the most uncomfortable chairs we have ever owned. We have had the recliners for a year and have tried and tried to get used to them, but we can’t. We contacted our local La-Z-Boy store twice, but got no satisfaction. When we can find recliners that we like, we will be selling these thru consignment or on Facebook. They were very expensive. At this point, we would get recliners from an estate sale if possible. We are very unhappy.

Paid in full for sofa, it was delivered damaged by very incompetent boys at a cost of $400.00. I could not get any answers from them re: type damage after it fell over in the truck, parts ordered, how long would take. No one returned our calls. When we got through to someone, no one knew what was going on. We decided we did not want "rebuilt" furniture for $7000.00. We did not go to " La-Z-Boy Rebuilt Furniture Galleries." Found out later that we had to use ONLY La-Z-Boy leather spray at specific times in order for warranty to be honored. We knew right then we were screwed...they would make up all kinds of excuses to not honor the warranty. All furniture they call "Special Order" and cannot be cancelled for any reason (even if it's damaged). Bottom line: very expensive furniture, very poor customer service. Save your money and go to a consignment store.

Today I visited the La-Z-Boy at Galleria in HENDERSON NV. I needed assistance with a product dilemma that has persisted for 3.5 years and three service calls deep unresolved. My intent was not to deride, sow discord or find fault, but to merely work the problem objectively with the only group that could help me, the provider.
I was met at the door by an older salesman. Being an elderly businessman owning a 43 year old company myself, I felt comfortable with another old school like myself. This was the first stage of disappointment, where my old school salesman went millennial on me and rudely cut my intro short and stated the only help was a 1 800 number. I shared I was all too familiar with that scenario and may I speak to the manager.
I spoke to the manager young Brian who was skittish as a colt at the prospect of having to deal with an issue and as I began to share my dilemma it was as if Deja Vu kicked in as I was immediately and rudely cut short as he stated he did not handle problems, that I would have to call customer service 1800 and appeal to them. I expressed my disappointment to him, that a long time customer of 30 years could find such a hopeless disconnect between sales and service. La-Z-Boy is not the company I knew as a trusted old school furniture solution. It is no wonder Amazon is so successful when the sales to service relationship becomes a road kill philosophy. There other more amenable solutions for furniture and I recommend research.
