We bought a recliner in March 2019 and it broke in less than a month. Customer service wasn't helpful at all, moreover their managers! It's been 3 months and it hasn't been repaired yet. We paid $3000 for the recliner and 5 months after paying for it we only had a chance to use it for less than a month! Very disappointing quality and customer service.

Purchased $2300.00 leather recliner for my housebound husband. Purchased the “platinum warranty “ that covered -cracking and peeling of finish on leather-. When I sent pictures of peeling and cracking of leather finish, was informed that wasn’t covered as that was where his head rested. It behooves the company to provide adequate finish or separate cover to protect that area if the leather is so poor his head “melts” it, one would think. Will NOT be purchasing anymore from this manufacturer or store.

We used to buy from them exclusively, but recliners now come apart in just over a year. Frame broke, not our fault, and cost more than $100 to have someone come out under warranty and set up repairs. Then company finds several excuses to charge us even more, but I cannot see paying almost the price of a new chair to get something fixed under warranty! NEVER AGAIN!

Bought recliner in 1997. Fabric split on right side because frame underneath did not have padding on it. Customer service picked up chair and 2 months later they called to say I would have to pay another 280.00 for fabric! Told them the frame exposed caused fabric to tear and it made no difference. Out of warranty! It has been 6 months now since they picked up chair and I am going to go to small claims court. I am 81 years old and don’t need this frustration. HORRIBLE company and HORRIBLE customer service!!!

We recently purchased a recliner coach and a rocker recliner from the store in Gainesville Va. Purchased floor models that were on sale. Love both pieces. Best sitting coach we have ever had and I love the recliner. We loaded both pieces on to our truck and carried them home so we did not use their delivery service. The people were all very nice and very helpful. Great place to shop. Recommend to everyone.

I had a very limited amount of money to spend on a recliner that my wife badly needed. She found one that she LOVED!, and was within our budget. However, when I went to pay for it, my total was about $40 more than I expected. When I asked about it, I was told that there was a $39.99 charge to have ME pick it up from the store. I asked if it could be removed, since it made no sense that I would be charged to pick it up. I was told that the fee was inserted in the sales software from corporate.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? This is NOT good customer service. To be charged $40 for the privilege of picking up a chair from your store at the last minute of the sale is ludicrous. This charge was not explained to me until the last minute, and only when I questioned it. To top it off, the clerk made the flippant remark "Well, I guess the company has to make their money somehow." Feel free to contact me if you wish, but I will not be shopping at your business again. I do not appreciate surprise fees for no service.

Our two recliners are now about 10 months old, but look like a heard of cats have been clawing at them every day for a year, but there has never been a cat in the house. The material develops big scratchy lumps on the material, so you must wear long pants to sit in them to avoid scratching up your legs. The poor quality of material just cannot withstand light wear and tear. The material looked crappy within a month of bringing the chairs home.
Also, they have scratched up our hardwood floors, to where I will need to sand down the entire room and refinish, but not until these chairs are out the door. We tried gluing rubber pads on the feet, but they slip off, so have had to put on rugs to avoid more damage to the floors. Also, the center of gravity on these chairs is such that if I fully recline, I will tip over backwards every time, so cannot use as a recliner. This is the most expensive mistake I have ever made in my 70 years. I will never again ever have a La-Z-Boy. They are nothing more than very expensive cheap junk.

Customer care is horrible, get nothing but the runaround. Bought 3 chairs. Have had nothing but problems with one, paid $500 for extended warranty, what a joke. First problem they will cover part but I need to take chair apart and drive 1 hour away for them to fix, what a joke. Second time leg rest broke. Said it never happens. Well it did, had me take pictures. Called said had part. Came to house, "Oh no just here to take pictures", 2-3 weeks to get parts, then take chair out. Maybe get back in a week, what a joke, paid 8K on 3 chairs and this is service you get, paid 20k at Florida Leather gallery. Had small mechanical problem. Called once. They were here in 3 days. Fixed problem. No complaints, I will tell everyone I know never to buy from La-Z-Boy!!! Customer service wants me to do all the work then like pulling teeth to get it covered under warranty.

I spent almost $4000 for couch loveseat and recliner. I spent over $1000 on just the recliner. I also bought the 5 year protection plan. So the back is wobbling and falling apart. The cushions are not comfy and flat and the fabric is tearing in two spots. I called the corporate office and they said it would cost me $120 an hour to fix it. I will never buy another La-Z-Boy piece of furniture again. The Evansville IN store is twice the price of other stores that carry the La-Z-Boy brand. I am so disappointed.

My husband and I decided to buy what we were told was “lifetime” furniture about a year ago. We spent close to $6,000 on a brown sofa and loveseat. It took over two months to be delivered, and they didn’t order our center console piece in the correct wood color, so we had to wait two more months for that. After all that waiting, we noticed the leather on one of the arms was faded off within less than six months. My seat had lost half the brown color and looked beige, and the back of my husband's seat cushions had completely flattened. We both work full time, it’s not as though we sat on the couch day and night. Even if we did they should have lasted longer than a few months.
We contacted the company in January to resolve these issues. We had to wait for a subcontractor to come look at it and order parts. Then parts start coming to our house. He comes to fix it and is four hours late while also realizing he didn’t have some of the parts that got sent to the warehouse. So, more time passes and now we are in June before he can come again. He replaces everything but the flattened cushions because he said they just sent us the fillers and he ordered a whole new back. He told us if he put in the fillers they would not let him do the back.
Next thing we know La-Z-Boy calls us and says we will now be out of warranty for the part and that we refused a part. They said it would cost $1000 to fix. My husband called the San Francisco office upset about this and was hung up on. He then called corporate and right now it looks like they will still cover everything as they should. The point of this long tale is do not buy this furniture. I know the new pieces we get are going to do the same thing. They are selling poor quality at premium prices in comparison to many competitors. I wish I could go back in time.

We bought a $4000 sectional and a month later, the spring came out of the bottom and the material ripped on the top of the springs (underneath where the cushions go). We were told we could not get a replacement piece and they mailed us stuff to fix it. We have been waiting a month for someone to come and fix it for us! Why not just say sorry about that and give us a new piece? We will NEVER recommend this furniture to anyone. Terrible product--junk. And terrible customer service.

Worst chair ever... I've owned many less priced La-Z-Boys and decided to get a good one. What a mistake I made, have had nothing but problems since I got it. Call into a few months after I purchased it and was told I'd have to pay to have it looked at. Plus I'd need my receipt which I couldnt find. Unfortunately now I've found it but really don't think I should have to pay for a bad chair. I didn't hardly set in it for the first 6 months. You can see a seem under fabric where foam must be glued together. Feels like it bottoms out on seat and feel board in front of seat. Plus the left arm is now loose one wing popped. Unfortunately it's been 2 yrs but the customer service has been terrible and basically the cause of my frustration since they told me I needed a receipt. Very very discouraging and disappointing. Even had it special built to install different fabric.

The merchant was great but La-Z-Boy had very poor customer service and they would not stand by their product. I purchased a lifting recliner for my dad, $2600. Within month, the remote control cable began coming apart. Then last Dec 2018, the frame broke. I called in to make a claim, a technician was sent out, diagnosed the broken part and ordered a new one. 3 weeks later it was repaired. That was 2 weeks ago. My dad just called me to say the other side is now broken and it is worse than before. I've once owned a La-Z-Boy recliner, it was 35 years old and though a little worn, it worked well and was very sturdy. The newer stuff is made from compressed woods and is so cheaply made it's not even funny. I will never again purchase another La-Z-Boy product again. $2600 down the drain.

We bought a La-Z-Boy recliner couch from Raymour and Flanigan less than 5 years ago and the thing started falling apart from day one. First it was the cheap arm that's made of cardboard that broke when I leaned on it. The store sort of fixed it. Next was the bolt that holds the arm to the back of the couch which sheered off. The store fixed this also, only to sheer off again a year later. Then there was the release lever that the face broke off from the rest of it. I replaced that with a metal one instead of junk plastic for only $5.
Now, the whole reclining mechanism doesn't work right and is twisted out of shape. Most likely caused by the main support bolt sheering of twice. I replaced it the second time myself with a higher grade bolt that is said not to sheer off. The parts that were put into this thing are so cheap as if it was intentionally design to fall apart because for only a few dollars more they could have made a lasting couch. We picked up one on the side of the road that was still in good shape when we bought this and I wish we'd kept it instead. At least it wasn't made cheaply.

I'd give it a lower rating but there's no option for that! This has been the worst experience I have ever had trying to purchase recliners! I special ordered 2 recliners they were to rock swivel and have a specific fabric. When they were delivered they didn't have the swival bases. I called several times and never got any results so I had to drive 40 miles to the store only to be told they would put the bases on if I brought the chairs back. I have no enclosed trailer so I ask them to have a tech come to the house and was told to call back on a Friday. I tried but can't get any one on the phone! So I guess I will have to drive back to the store to get any satisfaction! SO FRUSTRATING when you pay for something and can't get anyone to help! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE La-Z-Boy DOUGLASVILLE STORE!

I appreciated the courtesy and the willingness to negotiate, but in all honesty I am worried about what this is doing to my finances. On the bright side, La-Z-Boy products have lasted a good, long while when I have purchased them. I believe the store needs to stock materials for a loveseat-sleeper well under 2K.

Here's the 10-words or less version: I received a lemon recliner. Full story: I purchased my recliner in February 2018...spent well over $1,000 for it. Within only a few months of regular, normal use, it began making odd noises when reclining (it's electric), and screws were coming out, etc. I would put the screws back in or get the detached leg part back in myself. After several months of it continuing to happen every so often and me fixing it, I finally decided to call La-Z-Boy (this was in April 2019) to see if they can assist. Additionally, I called because I began to notice the left armrest coming apart from the rest of the chair. Again, the chair was only used as a chair is supposed to (we have no kids). Yet the chair was obviously defective from the factory.
When I spoke to Comfort Care, they informed me I would have to pay around $130 for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. And that it was outside of it's one-year warranty (Lesson #1 -- call right away! I had problems occurring well within warranty but tried to handle it myself), so while the parts might be in warranty, the labor is not.
The technician arrived and immediately noticed several issues, and even commented that it likely is a defective chair. The frame was bent at both ends, the armchair portion was coming off... "there are structural issues with the recliner". The technician noted which parts are needed and said they would ship to my house. When I called Comfort Care to arrange shipment and such, they inform me I need to now pay for an additional 2 hours for the technician to install these parts that are being shipped. Plus $13.99 shipping for the parts!!!! So much for that "WARRANTY".
Shelled out over $1,000 for a defective recliner (UPON RECEIPT), yet I now need to pay an additional $400 to La-Z-Boy just to fix the issues, and who knows if it will be fixed. Absolutely ridiculous. They claim the parts are under warranty but they sure as heck are not... They are without a doubt supplementing the cost within the labor, because no offense to the technicians, they aren't getting paid $120/hour on their paycheck. So I'm not paying for just labor. All I want is a working recliner. And for La-Z-Boy to stand behind their product. They obviously do not care to keep customers happy and/or want to retain their customers. This was my first La-Z-Boy purchase and unless remedied, will be my last. Cheap and defective product, and all about the $$.

I ordered a leather sofa, loveseat and recliner. The sofa was defective from the beginning, they did replace but it was still defective and they will not do anything about it. The back of the leather recliner is concave after a couple of months use and was told that was from the wear of sitting it in. I sure thought La-Z-Boy furniture lasted longer than a couple of months. My local store would not do anything and I reached out to corporate and they will not do anything. After purchasing La-Z-Boy furniture for over 35 years I am very disappointed in the products and customer service. See picture of recliner and sofa, notice the discrepancy in the height of the cushion and how the back of the recline has just caved in the center.

Purchased the Sheldon sectional in fabric D153442, sisal color in December 2017. Sectional delivered January 2018. After only a little over a year, I noticed wear on the chaise portion of the sectional where my legs lay when I sit on it, also specifically wear where my heels sit on the chaise. Also, noticed the fabric on the seat area is discolored, presumably from the pillow I use for lumbar support. All of this from normal use? We don't have kids, just 2 adults and 2 cats in the home. It only gets little to no use during the day and gets sat upon in the evenings relaxing watching tv. We don't even sit on it if our clothes are dirty!
I called service today and found that the fabric is only warrantied by La-Z-Boy for a year. We purchased the Montage 5yr warranty, but I was told that warranty would only cover the discoloration at the seat from my lumbar pillow dye transfer, not the places on the chaise where my heels and legs touch the fabric. Was then asked if I wore jeans when sitting on the couch! Uh, I wear clothes when sitting on the couch, I shouldn't have to pay attention to the specific color, type of fabric, etc of the clothing I'm wearing when sitting on the couch! This fabric doesn't even hold up to normal seating after only a year?! I'm so very disappointed and will never waste my money on another piece of La-Z-Boy furniture. Ever.

We purchased a recliner that swiveled less than three years ago. It is very comfortable, however, the fabric did not last. As I designer, I understand the value of fabrics which can withstand wear, this fabric should never have been an option for upholstery. It wore quickly and within a couple of years was very unsightly. We are moving to Florida and decided we didn’t want to pay to move this ugly piece of furniture. We contacted Salvation Army and it was rejected by them! After less than 3 years!!! I then contacted Customer Care, sent photos, had it reviewed by a “product specialist” and was told it was out of warranty and just needed a professional cleaning. I know the difference between dirty and worn. I will never purchased another product from La-Z-Boy.

Updated on 07/27/2019: I purchased a $1400.00 recliner 2 years ago. At the 1 year mark the fabric was fraying at the areas on the armrest where the fabric was bulled the tightest. I have purchased a 5 year protection plan and when I called they said it wasn't accidental damage so it was not covered. I asked about the manufacturer's warranty and they said I was just past the 1 year mark so that would not be covered either.
This May my grandson accidentally cut two slices with a scissor in the arm area and I called to use my 5 year accidental damage coverage. The fabric had also worn horribly and I questioned the manufacturer again. They had my PAY to send a technician out who in turn wrote a report in front of me and had me sign it stating a manufacturers fabric problem. I had not heard back from La-Z-Boy customer care or Serve-co since May 25th, now it's the end of July. I called again and was told that the tech had not written anything about a manufacturer issue with the fabric in the computer version of the report. So what I signed is no longer in existence. Still attempting to achieve resolution. Horrible customer service.
Original review: I purchased a custom recliner almost 3 years ago. I was happy with the process, picked a fabric I loved. After the first year I noticed premature wear in a non traffic area and called the local store where I had purchased. They informed me that I had purchased a 5 year protection plan which would cover accidental damage but was no longer under the 1 year manufacturers warranty. I did not call customer service as I thought there was nothing further that I could do. Last week I noticed 2 tears in the arm, I believe caused by keys in the pocket of a grandchild. I called the Warwick store and was told this was covered by my 5 year guarantee for accidental damage. They gave me a wrong number and I called the customer service for La-Z-Boy. I sent images of the tear. I also asked about the continued premature fabric wear on the other areas. I sent images of everything to them. The experience has been exhaustive.
I was told by Warwick La-Z-Boy the tears were accidental and would be covered. I was told by comfort care/customer service that I needed to know exactly how the rip occurred. I had to reach out to my daughter to ask her to ask my 4 and 7 year old grandchildren exactly how it happened. My recent phone call to comfort care enlightened me to the fact that they could replace the arm for $500. This begs the question as to why I would change the same fabric that is wearing poorly to replace this? I asked if this fabric was a documented problem. I would doubt that this is a one time occurrence but more likely a defect in the fabric. I purchased a couch and loveseat from a different manufacturer at the same time and they are in pristine condition with much more use.
This is my first experience with La-Z-Boy and I would guess I will not purchase from them nor recommend them to anyone in the future. I am currently looking into have a slip cover made to cover the fabric which makes the chair look old and worn. I will not spend $500 to have La-Z-Boy replace the arm only to have the fabric wear the same way. I am currently working to have the tears fixed through my 5 year guarantee, but at this point it looks as though they are trying to renege on the guarantee as well. I will be contacting the BBB and filing a complaint. I replace my furniture every 5-7 years, I have NEVER had a fabric wear the way this fabric has prematurely broken down. I have never had a company fight a customer on a guarantee the way La-Z-Boy has. I would beware of purchasing anything from this manufacturer.

Buyer beware... Trust me. Read reviews!!! Great, friendly customer service... Until they get your money. We purchased a $4000.00 special order leather sectional 11/18 at the Clearwater FL showroom, sectional was delivered 1/19 and poor craftsmanship and quality control was evident upon receipt. The chaise’s flat leg area had a defect in the leather that was visible from 20 feet away. The store was notified with defects, pictures were sent and we were told by Rick the manager that this was within La-Z-Boy's “acceptable” limits. With this comment I just wanted a truck to come pick this thing up and my money returned.
After many argumentative phone calls were made, promises were made on a resolution. After 5 weeks of waiting for a replacement cushion it shows up with the repairman Chris (very nice guy). He opened up the sealed bag to find on the chaise cushion seating area, that it has a number 10 on it. It was a cattle branding mark. I declined the installation of this cushion. Rick called me to find out why I declined its installation. I told him it had a clearly visible branding mark on the seating area in the leather. I again was told this was an “acceptable” La-Z-Boy defect and was “highly desirable” in the leather furniture market, which again turned into an argumentative phone call with Rick repetitively stating that all these defects I complained about were all “acceptable”. Rick told me he would order another cushion, but this would be the last one he would order and was now only doing this as a courtesy.
Rick said the new one he would order and the defective branded cushion would be my choices upon the service call and no more would be ordered for resolution. WOW 4K and now I get what I get? After 4 or 5 more weeks the next cushion showed, although different grade of leather that no one would notice, some acceptable defects in the leather that are normal, it was installed. This whole nightmare lasted 5 months, I wasted 4 vacation days for repairs and evaluations and hours on the phone. There is a lot more dissatisfaction with the sectional and the experience but only chose to highlight the biggest. I have already steered several would-be La-Z-Boy customers away from purchases and now give and live with the advice to STAY AWAY from this place. After reading some of the other reviews, I find that my experience with La-Z-Boy and “Rick” was not an abnormal or isolated incident!

I was told that the 3 year extended warranty is not valid; the salesman told me at the time of purchase that the 3 years extended the 1 year warranty that was included. That apparently is not true. However, the bigger issue is that both recliners, just 3 years old, have deteriorating leather. About 10 years ago, we were sold on a reclining love seat/reclining sofa combination, primarily because the salesperson kept lauding La-Z-Boy's amazing, "lifetime" warranty. "If ANYTHING goes wrong with it, as long as you own it, La-Z-Boy will fix it or replace it... with one exception: the fabric anti-stain guard is for only 5 years. You won't find that ANYWHERE else." And, it turns out, we did not find that even at La-Z-Boy.
About 1-year after we purchased, one of the sofa seams started splitting. Turns out that defects in materials or workmanship of "fabrics" is only warranted for 1 year. About 5 years after we purchased it, the recliner mechanism on one side of the sofa literally pulled away from the wooden frame, resulting in the footrest extension becoming bent beyond use. When my wife called for warranty service and was told how it worked, she said she'd rather live with it. Now, we are hearing the same, metal pulling away from wood thing happening on the other side of the sofa. So, I called for warranty service.
They are difficult to reach because they have limited hours. I had to wait on hold for 9 minutes, with a 1-sentence apology for the wait, every 70 seconds. "Parts" are covered, but there is a $13.99 "ordering charge" for each part needed to make the repair. Labor, after the first year, is not covered. It costs $124, paid in advance, over the phone, to have a technician come out to assess the problem, determine if it is covered by the warranty, and what it will take to fix it.
There is no way to schedule anything other than the day of the technician's visit. He will call the night before to give you a 2-4 hour window to expect him. You cannot specify morning or afternoon, and you will not know, until the night before, when you might expect the tech. If it can be fixed, the technician will give you an estimate of labor and parts (@ $13.99 per part, for the "ordering charge"). Then, you can decide if it's cheaper to have it fixed under the "lifetime warranty" or buy a new sofa. Once we've had the tech service, I will post a review about that.

I purchased a $1,000 chair. It took three weeks to receive it, which was understandable. When it arrived there was next to no padding in the left arm. I called for service and was told a serviceman would be out in two weeks. When he came he looked at the chair and said yes the arm needs to be replaced. I put in the order and I was told that I would receive the arm in two weeks but it took three weeks. When the arm arrived material did not match the chair so the serviceman said he would order two arms so that they would match the chair. That took an additional three weeks for them to arrive at the house and then it took another two weeks for the serviceman to come and put them on.
There was another issue and that was the height of the chair. I am 5 foot two and was very comfortable in the chair that was on the showroom floor however chair I received was taller and I could not reach the floor. After I had mentioned that each time the serviceman came to the house he said he would check with the main office and see what could be done but there was nothing that could be done. I was not told that by putting a swivel base on the chair that it would make the chair higher and therefore I could not reach the floor. Finally after going through all of that I called the store and told them that I would pay a restocking charge to be able to return the chair but I was told that the chair had been in my home too long to be returned. I protested that it had been in my home too long because of all the service calls that needed to be made on it but it didn’t matter to them. I now have a chair that I cannot use because I cannot reach the floor when I sit in it.

I bought 2 leather recliners less than 2 years ago. The leather on one of the recliners has a spot on the headrest that has peeled off along with a couple places on the armrest that has worn exposing the undercoating. I feel this leather is inferior and should hold up better since they are not abused and are seldom used. I would like for a La-Z-Boy representative to look at the problem but they gave me the number of another company called Lebco. I contacted them and their spokesperson refused my request since my 1 year warranty has expired. I am very dissatisfied with this product and customer service.

I was then transferred to I think Servco (third party not La-Z-Boy) and again I was on hold for over 30 minutes and was advised they were going to send parts and call them again after I receive them. A week later I received the parts and called them back to schedule an appointment for repair (again I was on hold for over 30 minutes). They set an appointment over three weeks in the future. I bought 2 reclining chairs and a couch and love seat. One chair never has worked right and after a few months the fabric started to fade. I included a picture of both chairs. The fading chair is also used much less due to the mechanism not functioning correctly. In addition I can already feel the wood under the padding on all four arms of the couch/love seat.
We've called for over a year to no answer and no callbacks from our messages until two months ago someone finally responded and several weeks later a guy came out. He said only the mechanism was covered due to time. "How is that I've called and called and called?" That was 3 months ago and again I can't get ahold of anyone and nothing is resolved. THIS SHOULD ALL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I've wanted to afford La-Z-Boy for most of my adult life and now I regret ever buying it.

We purchased a sectional on January 5 of this year. Because we changed the layout, it became a custom order. No problem. After waiting nearly 2 months our couch was delivered. One piece of the sectional was completely missing the pegs that attach it to the next section. Our delivery driver said he would put a ticket in when he got back to the warehouse. We never received a call from them.
We followed up with the store two weeks later, we were told they knew nothing about it, and then told us to contact customer service, giving us an email that didn't work. After several phone calls to the store to try to get additional contact information, we went back to the store, and were told to call the customer service line. The manager from the store was supposed to call us, never did.
Now, we are in mid May, have had our couch for over two months. The service tech showed up yesterday to finally repair the issue, and then said he wasn't prepared to fix the problem, because it wasn't documented correctly on the work order. We will now have to wait and reschedule once he puts in a new request on Monday.
Honestly, I thought we would be buying a quality piece of furniture, but I would rather La-Z-Boy come get the couch and give me a refund. I am dreading trying to reschedule this service call, because I will have to take more time off during the work week, and I am afraid that once again La-Z- Boy will fail. This is the most expensive couch that I have ever purchased, and the least satisfied I have been. Will not recommend this brand to anyone.

We had our $3800 couch delivered and the leather was damaged in 2 areas. We refused it. The sales person said we should have kept it and they would replace it. So the supposed 2nd couch came and they dropped it off the truck when delivering and tore the leather and one of the sections and the right side doesn't "seat" correctly (one of the original leather defects was still there so they never replaced the first couch, they just tried to fix it). Their policy is to sell you a defective couch and then repair it if something is wrong. The sales person didn't know what she was talking about. She said the "2nd" one was being replaced but after waiting 7 weeks we heard nothing. So I called and now it's a repair problem. A new couch doesn't really mean new. So we have this gap between the backs that the La-Z inspector said is normal. I'm beyond dissatisfied and I've been ripped off.

All the problems started on the day of the delivery. Spring mechanism so loud when reclining and sitting back up that technician wouldn't repair hole in material or chip in wood he was prepared to fix on visit. Seat-back has three cushions. Under second cushion, thin material stretched over wood frame that the corner of the wood (no padding over the wood corners, cheaply made) punctured a hole in the material. Everyone who purchases this chair is complaining about the loud spring mechanism that the tech said cannot be fixed or changed. Tech was on more than 20 calls in past few week with the same complaint.
When appointment for tech to come out was made, advised La-Z-Boy of the noise with the spring mechanism which they said to have the tech take a look at. After tech's visit, sent email to La-Z-Boy requesting they start process to pick-up chair and refund money. Few days later, the salesman calls. He says that I can come in and look at their floor room chair to compare. He said there isn't anything wrong with the chair, it is normal for the mechanism to sound that way. I explained to him that the chair we looked at in their store did not make this noise and that their Astor Recliner delivered to customers are defective or La-Z-Boy is selling a product that is not the same as they are showing in their stores. If the chair they have in their showroom made the noise the one they delivered does, I would not have purchased it.
Our dog will not go near the chair and leaves the room if he thinks you are going to recline or sit up in the chair - terrified of the noise the chair makes. I have been enjoying La-Z-Boy recliners for over 30 years. I use my recliners daily, sometimes spending hours at a time. They have always been comfortable and the mechanisms lasted over 8 years without any attention. I typically replaced the recliners at about 10 years which I considered excellent service from quality made furniture.
Recently I purchased 2 Crandell model recliners. These recliners are designed for tall people and have a wide cushion. They typically sell for $900 to $1100. When I picked up the first one I immediately noticed the frame and base and frame were made of OSB or Oriented Strand Board. OSB is similar to plywood. The days of quality all hardwood frames and bases are gone. La-Z-Boy claims it is just as strong but I'm not believing them. I have had my recliners less than a year and the first thing I noticed is the upholstery material is very loose and full of large wrinkles. They told me this is normal as well but it never occurred on any of my previous recliners.
After about 6 months of use 2 screws that support the ratcheting mechanism for reclining positions fell out along with the bracket. Fortunately I was able to repair the chair, but noticed the use of a soft type wood caused the screws to loosen and strip the holes. I had to redrill the holes to a larger size and use bolts to ensure this would not happen again.
This is very disappointing for a chair of this cost and history of quality. I believe La-Z-Boy is riding on their name and history of quality made furniture. When you visit their store don’t believe the quality is the same as years before or their quality of new furniture warrants the high price they charge for their latest line of furniture. Sad to see another American company going down this path. I would gladly pay more for quality but felt I was shortchanged on my latest La-Z-Boy purchase. La-Z-Boy, if you’re reading this review, you are losing your loyal customer base as one by one they discover your furniture is not what it used to be or what the customer is expecting when they put it to use.

I went to the La-Z-Boy store in Wilmington, DE — the Christiana location. The experience was TERRIBLE. We've been given the runaround for weeks about a piece of furniture we bought. Every time we call to get an update, no one is able to tell us anything. The only thing the store knew how to do was promptly take our money. It's been 7 weeks since we placed our order.
According to our contract, the furniture would be here in 4-6 weeks. One week late isn't bad, though, right? The problem is, we just found out today — again, after calling and waiting on hold and getting the runaround — that our furniture will be shipped from TN on May 6, and we will get it a week later. That is three months, and we were originally told one month. I have a housewarming planned and have no idea what I will do for furniture. I thought paying top dollar for furniture would guarantee that the customer service was amazing. Sadly, I've gotten better service at Big Lots.
The worst part of all of this is: NOBODY from the local store ever apologized or even expressed the tiniest bit of empathy. "It's the mill's fault," we were told, or it's so and so's fault. Had someone just listened to me and apologized, I may have been less frustrated. But to be yanked around by people who take your money, ignore your phone calls, don't honor their contracts, and don't take responsibility for their mistakes — that's what I can't tolerate. And so I will be taking my business to Bassett, whose customer service is incomparable, according to everyone I know who's shopped there.

If you are considering buying a La-Z-Boy for the quality and because you think the company stands behinds its product, think again. And just so you know, I’ve owned a La-Z-Boy before. A few weeks ago I was looking to buy a recliner and I read the reviews at different retailers, I decided to go with La-Z-Boy again. I went to the store on President's Day and they had a sale going on. As I was looking around I noticed a couple of chairs for a very low price of $275. I asked the salesman why they were so inexpensive, he told me because the fabric had been discontinued. All I cared about was comfort and color. I sat in it for maybe 10-15 seconds and it seemed comfortable. I bought it.
Now I know why it was so cheap. Because it’s low quality. When I sit in it for more than 10 minutes, my leg starts to go to sleep because of the minimal amount of foam in the seat. I called the store and spoke to the manager and he said he could not refund or exchange it. I really wanted to exchange it and get something more expensive. But the manager was not going to budge on his position. Really! So, you wouldn’t exchange a $275 chair (I would have paid a 30% restocking fee) for someone to spend on a $500 dollar or more chair? Apparently La-Z-Boy doesn’t stand behind their product and don’t care about repeat customers. So beware when paying a higher price for a recliner because of the name. I won’t buy La-Z-Boy again.

I could write pages on my "simply put" horrible experience with both the store (Hartsdale, NY) and the Executive Office. After the sale, the salesperson and manager showed their true rude, disinterested, incompetent selves. I was told 4 weeks for my chair, but as much as 6 weeks; that was clear and stated in my documentation. Well, I am now officially almost 10 weeks in without the chair and no pre-emptive communication. I had to continuously call the store...to no avail. My calls were never returned.
There was never an answer as to what was going on with my purchase, and it is impossible to speak with anyone of knowledge or managerial accountability; that is because that role does not exist. They sell...meet their quota, get their commissions, and YOU are on your own. When confronted they will blame the warehouse, trucking company, GOD any excuse possible; the blame game! They are clueless that all issues are for them to investigate, resolve, communicate and apologize. Calling the "EXECUTIVE OFFICE" is even more frustrating because they basically say they are "hands off," and to call the store. It is truly a blood pressure rising experience. I am still without the chair. I am still waiting for communication from the "EXECUTIVE OFFICE" which is really just a call center with no power, and equally no concern.
Ironically, the day that I purchased the chair, I called for a local taxi to take me to the train.. back to NYC. He immediately asked if I purchased anything, I told him, and he was practically begging me to cancel the order and go elsewhere. He told me stories, told me where else to go, and I did not listen; I thought it is La-Z-Boy. Oh, how I wish that I had listened to that gentleman! Please do not make the mistake that I made. Read reviews. Call your credit card company (if you have made the mistake) and ask about their Assurance Plan and Extended Warranty on purchases. If you are a life-long La-Z-Boy customer and have had pleasant experiences; that it's wonderful, but stop with brand loyalty because there is no customer loyalty. That relationship is a thing of the past, and it is all about the "Almighty Dollar!" They have gone up against a warrior, and I will not be silenced. They are crooks stealing your hard earned money!

We contacted our store (La-Z-Boy of Lansing, Michigan) after we had our sofa and loveseat for less than 3 weeks because the fabric was wrinkling and bunching every time someone sat on it. (We are a retired couple with no kids or dogs). The store referred us to Customer Care, but assured us they would be “with us” every step of the way. To make a four-month story short, the company offered to replace the seats with the same fabric. We did not accept that solution as we were convinced the poor quality fabric was the issue and they would not guarantee the replacements. In fact, a rep told us that’s “just the way this fabric is”.
We wanted different fabric or a credit. We had even asked if the store decorator, who assumably knows fabrics, could come out (10 miles) and look at it, but we were ignored. In the ensuing months, we got nowhere. Customer service reps were always very nice, as were we, but nothing was happening. Calls not returned. No support from local store. It was a very stressful time. I couldn’t believe a company such as La-Z-Boy would not stand behind their product when there were such obvious flaws.
Finally, the case was referred to the “Escalation Department” and they would render a verdict. Their resolution was to take the furniture back if we paid a 30% restocking fee. (As if they could restock this furniture). They would take no responsibility for the lack of quality of this fabric. The furniture was $3900 and we got back $2250. You may wonder why we accepted their offer. Because we were worn down. It was 3 months after our first contact by now. We were afraid we’d get nothing if we continued to expect a fair resolution, and frankly it came to be worth it for our own peace of mind to be done with La-Z-Boy. So it was a relief to have our 4-month-old furniture picked up. It only cost us $1650 for the experience! Please learn from ours.

Purchased a recliner, 2 years later the leather type fabric started cracking in one area that has little use. The arms are fine, it is obviously a material failure. La-Z-Boy only offered a small discount if I bought another one of their recliners. They will do nothing about the defect, no offer to recover. I will never buy another La-Z-Boy product. Their warranty is only good for 12 months, so basically 13 months and older we get to buy a new recliner on sale. Not the brand it used to be, very disappointed. Took 5 months to even get an answerback, and they did not respond to me, but went through the furniture store. No customer service, will go to any other brand.

In mid-November of last year, we purchased two Riley La-Z-Boy high leg recliners from a Lazy Boy store near us. We paid $2,598 for our chairs. The chairs were delivered in the first week of January 2019. Within several weeks after their delivery, we noticed unusual wear on both chairs. In early February, we called our Lazy Boy design consultant -- very good person and very familiar with the available recliner fabrics -- and reported the deterioration of the fabric on our chairs.
He referred our complaint to the customer service center, who made arrangements with their contract company to come to our house to inspect the chairs. In early March, the rep came to our house, he was very cordial and knew what he was doing. He found abnormal fabric wear on both recliners, not pilling. The rep also found problems with the cushion and leg rest on one of the chairs -- the cushion is losing its shape and there is some bulging of the stuffing. The fabric on the leg rest already looks worn out. The rep took multiple pictures of both recliners.
We're very disappointed with the deterioration of our recliners so soon after we received them. In ordinary circumstances, we would have insisted on a full refund and returned the recliners. We do like the shape and design of the recliners, so we're giving the Lazy Boy warranty a chance to rectify these product failures. Their customer service center has told us that replacement parts have been ordered for our chairs, and we're to notify them when the parts are delivered so they can schedule the repair at our house. If these repairs do not hold up, our intention is to request a full refund -- there is no reason for us to be stuck with two defective recliners going forward. We're finding out that Lazy Boy's "limited lifetime warranty" is exactly that -- limited! Lazy Boy needs to pay attention to the negative online reviews, including ours, and correct the problems. This is our first and last purchase of a Lazy Boy product.

I bought 2 couches, ottoman, center and side table from Novi, MI store. La-Z-Boy Products are at least 2 times the price of comparable competitors. They said 2 pillows were free but ended up charging me $75 for change in cloth of pillow cover. These pillows are available for $15 at Bed Bath. They charged me $50 to change leg color from Mahogany to Coffee. Note that the leg is not solid wood, just a veneer and change in color is just change in stain. My main reason for purchasing this couch was the high density foam cushions. Realized later that the front 1/3rd section of the foam is low density foam stuck to high density foam that did not have the expected firmness and had to be replaced. Nothing but a cost saving measure disguised as over-engineering!
Upon delivery I noticed that the bottom cover of both sofas were torn. These guys want your address, phone number just to give you a quote. Yes, want a quote, surrender your privacy so they can sell your data for a few extra bucks. Made in America? - Crap! Turns out the center-side tables were made in Vietnam by the same vendor that supplies to Sam's, Costco etc. It was humiliating to learn that Sam's Club sells the same model La z Boy single chair for $300 while I paid $500 just for an Ottoman. And I realized later that it does not have high density foam. Never again Ripoff-Z-Boy. Adios.

We are now looking at a two month absence of use of the chair which is greatly needed by a disabled family member. I inquired about a loaner or a rental replacement which apparently is not your policy. This is very discouraging. At what timeline can the chair be exchanged for new one? Why would the motor not be available at the first visit when we already ran the Trouble-shooting protocol? This is absolutely NOT the service I expect after decades as a La-Z-Boy user. There are three older adults that live here and sit on the furniture, so that’s way in excess of “NORMAL” wear and tear. He also commented, "They don’t make things like they used to.” Seriously? On 8/30/2015 I purchased a La-Z-Boy rocking recliner, which I thought was all leather, for $999.97 from the La-Z-Boy store in Naples, FL and on the advice of the salesperson, I also purchased an extended warranty plan with a company named Furniture Care Protection. In January of 2019 I noticed the color was separating on the end of both armrests, it was not dirt, and in fact I tried cleaning it with a cleaner purchased at the time of the purchase from La-Z-Boy. I called the store and selected the customer service option, received no answer and left a message 3 times.
On a subsequent call to the store the sales person said they would email them and I would get a response. I did not. I then went to the store and talked with a salesperson and the exchange was reminiscent of “Who’s on First”. I explained the issue and the absence of return calls and she said I had to call customer service. I reiterated that they don’t call back and I would like to speak with the manager and she advised the manager was not in so call customer service and so it went on several times. A day or two later I did talk with the manager and she said to call Furniture Care Protection, which I did. It gets better. I took pictures and texted them, per their request, to a number given to me for texting. About 2 weeks later I got a call saying they never got the pictures. I kept the person on the line and sent them again and had them verify receipt.
About 3 days later I was called and told that the claim was rejected because they don’t warranty “poor quality”. I responded that a $1,000.00 chair should not fall into that category, at least in my mind, and that I would be calling La-Z-Boy corporate and my attorney. In addition I would publish the whole story online. I was asked to hold and the call disconnected. I called back and got a different person who said the claim had been reopened and they would get back to me. A week later they called and denied the claim again saying that they don’t cover wear and tear. I explained that hands never touch that part of the chair and that I wanted to speak with her boss. I was advised he was busy and would call me back. Two or three weeks have passed and he has not called.
The warranty reads: On A&P Leather Vinyl. “Cracking or peeling of all leather and Vinyl in non-seating areas.” I called corporate to advise them of the facts and comments from the warranty company they recommend. The representative asked for more pictures and I sent them. I also asked that a tech come and look so that an accurate evaluation of what was happening could be done. This representative knew the issue well and explained that the dye does separate on vinyl.
Another week goes by and the Naples store calls. They have an offer. The store will give me 20% off and corporate will give another 25% off if I purchase another chair. I was advised that I would be better off buying an all leather chair, which I thought the last one was. They have an all leather chair for $1750.00 which after discounts would cost me about $1,050 before taxes and the warranty would be from the same company as before. In addition I had ten days to decide and then this generous offer would be rescinded.
I asked to review. The intent by them was for me to spend another $1,000.00 and be happy with a new all leather chair. I countered with, "Why don’t you send a tech out to actually see the problem." The manager explained to me that even when they send emails to the service department they delete them and that the extended warranty does not cover what it seems to cover.
La-Z-Boy had 1.52 billion in sales last year and neither they, or their warranty company will examine the problem with one $1,000.00 chair, they just want me spend another $1,000.00 within 10 days or go away. To date there has been no resolution. So if you want a new chair be very careful because La-Z-Boy is very lazy when they have a problem.

We were not told that the memory foam bust through the stitching. Also a screw randomly fell out causing damage. We called La-Z-Boy since we got a Warranty and were told it's 109 per hour service fee and, "Someone would be there between 730 and 1130." We did not get a courtesy call and the technician showed up at 700 am knocking on the door. The technician did not put on shoe covers. Tracked snow and mud through the house. Then he said he would have to order multiple parts and come back.
Six huges boxes and a month later we finally called the company to cone back out. Than we were told it's going to be at least 218 dollars for this service. So the customer service who sold this couch did not mention any of this. I asked to speak to a manager who just continually told me this. Is there policy? And they don't advise the sale people to discuss this and as a customer I could of looked online to see what the warranty entails. And I could fix it myself or pay someone else to do it. Also that they do not provide courtesy calls because they don't want technician on the phone while they're driving.
This is absolutely insane. They have an excuse for everything. Then they do encourage technician to wear shoe covers. The management stuck to a script talked over me. Had a excuse for everything. The fact that the couches creek and feel like they twist when you sit down in them really disappointed me, we spent over $3400 for two recliners and two sofas.
I had just previously given a La-Z-Boy recliner and sofa to my mother which was 26 years old and still looked like new, no puckering and the fabric was like new after all those years and two kids. When the new stuff arrived it was easy to tell they used cheap materials in the build process, the 26 year old sofa and chair were solid, no creaking or twisting and were built using all hardwood in the framing, I only weigh 165 lbs by the way and my wife even less. I guess it's true that they don't build them like they used to. Shame on you La-Z-Boy for selling such cheaply made product at such high prices. I am truly disappointed in the quality of these expensive pieces.

My husband and I purchased 2 La-Z-Boy 2 recliners from Katy Freeway store in Houston Texas. We have had their recliners in the past and they were great. We were talked into the memory foam and it is horrible! It collapses and shifts all around leaving chairs that are a couple years old looking like they are 5 years old. I started calling their customer service before Thanksgiving with return calls that were days later and never connected.
They call today, I explain my problem...she says there is a trip charge and then tells me it was out of warranty Jan. 5th. I explain that shouldn’t be a problem because I’ve been calling since last year and can’t ever get anyone!!! She says it is a problem because my husband's number was on paperwork for delivery, not mine, so she doesn’t have record of my calls! She knows she has been listening to my messages! I tell her that no one ever answers and she says well I do a lot more than customer service! SERIOUSLY!!! Maybe La-Z-Boy should have a real customer service department! #la-z-boy #poorcustomerservice #neveragain #spreadtheword #porchianeedshelp

Please do not buy these reclining fake leather sofas. They are flaking and peeling everywhere you sit. I called the store I bought them from here in Key West, FL. called ROYAL FURNITURE. They have very upscale pricey furniture so I bought with confidence...and the brand was LA-Z-BOY so I had no reservations. I was told they were leather sofas... They are not real leather but something else that peels and flakes everywhere; you have to sweep and vacuum every day around the sofas. There is such a mess.
I called ROYAL FURNITURE and they said the 1 yr warranty had expired and there was nothing they could do. The woman I spoke with was rude and abrupt. She suggested I call a leather restorer and gave me his name. I called him and he told me the sofas could not be repaired because they weren't leather. He said there was nothing I could do but reupholster them and that would cost me more than I paid for them.
I then called ROYAL FURNITURE back to speak with the owner...I think his name was BRUCE. When I finally got to speak with him he could only suggest I call LA-Z-BOY, which I did. They were more helpful and asked me to provide the model #s and send pictures, which I did. After a few weeks of review, I was told the only thing they could offer was that I pick other sofas and they would discount their prices. But they couldn't tell me how much that would be. I am retired and on Social Security. I needed more information as to how much the replacement sofas would cost me, but they said they could not provide that information. I cannot make a decision without knowing the cost.
I feel very cheated by ROYAL FURNITURE and LA-Z-BOY. It's unfair and fraudulent to be treated this way. I would have been better off going to one of the furniture stores in Miami that lets you know what you are buying and at a much more reasonable price. Shame on LA-Z-BOY for making such an inferior product and not standing behind it. And shame on ROYAL FURNITURE for not taking responsibility for selling it.

I have owned 4 La-Z-Boy recliners. Two have had real problems with the upholstery. The latest was a $1,000 leather chair. It appears that what appeared to be dyed leather is nothing more than a sprayed dark finish on tanned leather. After one year, the finish has started to peel off and it leaves two big light colored spots. I have done nothing to cause the damage, but sit in the chair.
I called the company within the warranty claim period at the number they show when I have a problem. No one has ever picked up the phone and I have left a message which has never been returned after several efforts. If you want cheap merchandise, don't spend top dollar. Also the majority of the time it is only one person here and she weighs 145 pounds. I would not recommend this to anyone. Last but not least, despite using the design service, if we place the furniture where the decorator suggested we can only use 2 of the 4 recliners. I would not recommend La-Z-Boy to anyone. We are considering trying to sell at half the cost and finding something else.

I purchased a La-Z-Boy Motion Upholstery sofa and love seat on September 27, 2018 from Grand Home Furnishings in Roanoke Virginia. The cost of my two items or $2205.84 including delivery and set up. The foam layering is not holding up well at all and is causing pain and pressure points when setting and extending the leg rest. I am placing this review here before contacting the store for a refund of my purchase. I am so disappointed!! Purchase was financed with the 12 months no interest offer. I have paid approximately $400 on my two items. I will make no further payments.

This is your warning. Do not buy La-Z-Boy James Sectional Sofa. The entire sofa frame is made out of press wood. There isn't any real boards anywhere to provide any support. The armrest is loose. Tech came out to evaluate the armrest and said, "YEP, it's built as intended. It's just a poor design. I've already had to repair several other customers that have broken the armrest. Nothing I can do." You are much better off going to Gardner-White or Art Van and buying furniture. Don't be fooled into thinking that just because you spent triple the cost for a La-Z-Boy furniture you are getting quality. FALSE. La-Z-Boy is same low quality as Art Van. You've been warned. Don't believe me, in the showroom at La-Z-Boy, don't be afraid to flip furniture upside down and inspect for quality. All you will see is press wood! You've been warned. Save your money!

This was our second experience with La-Z-Boy rocker recliners. Our first set lasted only a few years before the cushioning declined plus splits in the wood of the frame. We had them checked by the local dealer who finally said that in order to fix them we would be charged labor and pickup and delivery. That cost would have been hundreds. So last year we decided to buy new La-Z-Boy Rocker/Swivel Recliners for both of us. We bought them at our local dealer and added the stain spray to help protect them. In 6 months we noticed that the cushioning was flattening on the seats, back and arms.
A few months later we contacted the store. They sent someone out who took pictures and agreed with us that the chairs were degrading only after a little over a year. It took weeks for them to get an answer from La-Z-Boy saying the work could be done at a cost of $90 per hour plus pickup and delivery. Two chairs at that cost is way too much money for chairs that aren't old at all. So much for any warranty La-Z-Boy has! They charge high rates for repair. We will never consider buying La-Z-Boy again as they do not have quality furniture and it's a deceptive warranty. We are stuck with these chairs.

To be honest, I have never gave a review in my life... but I guess everyone has a threshold of how much they will put up with. I have reached mine. 02-20-2014 we spent $4100.00 on a couch and two chairs from LB on the south-side of Edmonton from a salesperson named Veronique **. When we were purchasing them I explained to her that I can be quite hard on fabric furniture because I am 6 foot two and 225 lbs. and I was concerned that the pillows and the cushions would not hold up. She explained that they Guaranteed that they would, and if they did, they would restuff them for free. We also were talked into the protection plan for $249.95. We liked the couch and chairs so much 6 months later we bought another couch. I should have ran for the hills at that time because they charged us an extra $130.00 for the couch, and another $120.00 for the protection. but I didn't.
Needless to say 3 and a half years later we have a problem. All of the cushions and pillow are flat (as I predicted) but no worries the warranty and the protection I bought should cover it. RIght? Nope not covered, neither is the fact that where the cushion meets the arm has also worn out. I called the store. They did send someone out, called me today and said its normal wear, can't do anything because the fabric is discontinued. And they will do me a favor of 200.00 per cushion. So in closing... they will never see a dime from me. I will post this review everywhere I can and warn people about this company, and people think car salesmen are bad... They are saints in comparison to these people. By the way the upgrade to leather over the cloth on the website today looks to be 50.00

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. Bought 2 chairs in Sept 2015 for $1900. Had to pick up the chairs from warehouse since delivery would have taken another week. Chairs were defective told the warehouse, but they had me wait 2 days for a technician. Had no other furniture other than a bed which was hurting my back to be lying down so long. Have had to see a repair person yearly explaining that our backs are hurting. The frame in the back of the chair is sticking out and the other chair will not connect to the base. The service department told me no one could see me for 3 weeks, although I had received a call from a weekend technician who said I had just missed him, but he saw that I had an appointment in 4 days. 4 days later I was told that I had a phone appointment and I would have to wait 3 weeks.
After waiting 3 weeks, I was told that I will have to wait an additional 6 to 8 weeks with no furniture. I am unable to have anyone over and was left with no furniture through Christmas. I explained that we only have a kitchen table but they did not care. Went to speak to the store manager and he told me it was my fault this has taken so long, because I never contacted him. I had contacted the store and was told to try to work it out with the service department. They refused to come sooner. This is terrible customer service on every level. It is a shame that there is no client retention. Received a phone call from service stating that this a mandatory wait time, no apology.

I ordered the Luke Duo sofa and chair and a half 5/26/18 at the Rancho Cordova La-Z-Boy store (which is "independently owned and operated" which it turns out is not a positive feature). On 8/4/18 the set arrived with obvious construction defects in the sofa right arm. (The chair and a half had a screw missing and damaged legs, but these were fixed in-home by a technician a few weeks later). The sofa was reordered and delivered again on 10/13/18, and unbelievably had the same construction defect, but this time in the left arm!
Due to construction defects in the Luke, I re-ordered the Edie Duo instead, as I thought the Luke arm design (and fabric) was the problem. On 12/15/18 the Edie Duo sofa and chair and half was scheduled to arrive at 11:30 am. At 9:30 am I received a phone call from La-Z-Boy quality control for deliveries to inform me of "bad news." The Edie sofa was damaged in transit and was a safety issue and would not be delivered to me with the Edie chair and a half! They returned the sofa to the distribution center for inspection and repair (parts had to be ordered which caused a delay).
I had out of town guests arriving on 12/23/18 so I requested re-delivery on 12/22/18. The "schedule was full" for that day and they wanted to schedule on 12/23/18 - I said that would not work due to my guests arriving. So, I have a mismatched set in my living room (with La-Z-Boy tags intact and on display) while my guests are here. Of course the story behind the mismatched set is a topic of conversation! I await the re-delivery of the Edie sofa on 1/5/19, and while I am not getting my hopes up at this point (8 1/2 months after my original order!), I can with all certainty advise the buyer to beware regarding the La-Z-Boy Luke Duo product, the Rancho Cordova store, and this entire process!

Since early December I have spent many hours talking with several Customer Service Reps. regarding what I considered a premature fabric wear/deteriation in one of the headrest areas of my Leather Loveseat. Perhaps they should be called Corporate Service since every Rep. told me the exact same thing as if they were all reading from the same prepared script. It was my fault for a variety of reason and they accept no reponsibility at all.
Their solution: Since the Leather/color was discontinued in 2017 they could attempt to repair the area but the color would probably not match, or they would offer me a "very generous" 20% discount on any sales item excluding clearance items. So I either could accept a repaired but probably a two toned loveseat or spend another $1600 for a similar unit on top of the $1800 I had just spent 3 years ago. In either solution they accept absolutely no responsibility for the fabric premature wear. I will be telling my family, friends and classmates about my very dissatisfied experience with your "Customer Service" and to remember it when shopping for furniture.

When I contacted the store they could have cared less about my problem and was told to contact customer service. I sent photos and a full explanation to customer care and they basically said, "Well this is how a recliner looks." I don't think so!
I persisted, stating I wanted my money back or the sofa replaced. After filing a dispute with Visa, threatening to go to our local District Attorney and local TV station that profiles fraud cases I did receive an invoice to give me credit for a new sofa. I purchased a recliner sofa from Slumberland, Minnetonka MN in April 2017. The couch was delivered at the end of May 2017. The couch started falling apart within a couple months of having it. After the footrests starting cutting our ankles and feet from nails or staples sticking out and the back would not return to a upright position and was pulling away from the center I contacted warranty repair. They sent someone out to look at it March 2018. The footrest part was replaced, but the back could not be fixed, nor could they put the end piece back in place. By June 2018 the new footrest and the old footrest both started coming apart with nails/staples sticking out. My couch was replaced in July 2018.
I’ve had this replacement couch for 5 months and it is falling apart the exact same way as my original couch. I’ve been told by Slumberland my extended warranty is not valid because the issues are considered upholstery, the warranty I took out does not cover that, there is nothing they can do. They passed me off to La-Z-Boy. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed! I have called La-Z-Boy customer care by phone and set up an account. They said they will try to locate someone who can repair it for me. I told them I don't want another repair. It is a poorly designed sofa. Even though the recliner was under warranty, La-Z-Boy charged us about $175 for the labor and shipping required to repair the recliner (making it a terrible warranty). While the leg itself was solid wood, when the repair guy opened the bottom of the recliner, we saw that the interior (i.e., what you cannot see on the surface) was cheap particle board, and the particle board had deteriorated so badly that the leg came off. The construction quality of these chairs was terrible (especially considering that the recliners weren't inexpensive) and to be charged $175 for something that was clearly a manufacturing/quality defect was offensive. I wish La-Z-Boy actually had a customer service department. Somebody is pretending to be in customer service, but failed to respond to my initial multiple emails until I told them I wasn't going away. Then after I described the substantial fading they wanted photos which I sent. I am still waiting for a resolution despite it being two weeks since I provided them with everything they asked.
This is not complicated. The colors of the leather have faded to become a pale cream color when the original was a medium brown. The photos show it clearly. I explained it clearly. And before we placed an order we showed them photos of the rooms the furniture would be in, including windows, and the old furniture placement, which did not fade in 18 years.
So far their only excuse when I pointed out our RV leather furniture and car leather interiors have not faded and all they said was the leather was dyed in a different manner. Hello!!! If they knew there was a different way to dye leather and retain the vibrant colors they advertise as staying, why didn't they. I made a purchase on La-Z-Boy, Heartland store on Nov 3rd 2018. Store address: 5950 Rodeo Dr Unit #6, Mississauga, ON L5R 3V6. I was told I will get my order delivered within 2-3 weeks. So, I paid upfront (full amount) because I was too excited to get furniture for the new house and I have family visiting us (7 people) in the first week of Dec 2018. Salesman ** said they have inventory coming in so it should only take 2-3 weeks, "I will call you guys and let you know if we can do anything sooner than that." 1 week later, called store and spoke to ** and asked him to cancel rug from our order because I am not a big fan of area rugs. He first said it's CUSTOMIZED and cannot be cancelled. (WHO CUSTOMIZES RUGS?) Called him again. He said he is working on it and will cancel it. Waited for 2 weeks for him to call me and went back to the store and got it cancelled myself.
On the very same day, I asked him if everything is in line for our order and if we are getting it by the end of NOV. He said, "NO. You got everything customized and we are going to be able to deliver your order after Christmas," so most likely JAN 2019 is our expected delivery date. My house is empty so I asked his manager to see if they can accommodate me and give me any furniture old or new from store to use until we get ours because this is clearly a misrepresentation and wrong info given by salesman. He said, "No. We cannot do anything like," and cannot cancel my order because it's customized.
I escalated this to their senior manager and he said they will charge me 50% for cancellation. Again, no compensation or alternative solution offered. He said, "It is your responsibility to read the contract," which I understand. I can only read contract upfront if it was given to me before I paid for my order. Contract states 6-8 weeks. They gave me contract when I paid for my order and asked me to sign on it after.
I strongly believe this is an employee error and La-Z-Boy should be able to fix this. I understand it's customized product. They cannot put a rush on it. However they should be able to cancel it because wrong expectations were set. They can check store camera. I paid for my order and that's when I was given the invoice and on the back of invoice there are some terms and conditions which were not brought to my attention. They simply asked me sign the invoice. They have been wasting my time and effort since last week. When I asked senior manager to escalate it further he said there is no other department which is another lie. I feel like I have been scammed and lied.

We had special ordered two couches in September. They were rather expensive. They told us that it would be 4 to 6 weeks. Great, our basement was being remodeled and that fit the timeline. Call at 6 weeks and they said it was shipping the 12th of November. Call back after the holiday and they said it was now shipping DECEMBER 31st!! So, that means mid January. So, now we have a living room with no furniture for the holidays. DISAPPOINTED.
Both me and my wife called and of course we can't cancel, and no reason was given to why? It is obvious a screw up on your side. I suggested even just a floor display couch to get us by for the next two months. Nope. I thought I would get a better level of service from you, I would always go above and beyond for my customers to make them happy. Now you just lost a HUGE amount of business and I will make sure everyone I talk to knows about this. We won't buy ever again. Just work with your customers to make a bad situation better.

I bought a couch last year and it's been a nightmare. The back pillows constantly bunch up and require that I remove them, stomp on them to distribute the stuffing and replace them. The seat cushions have completely shifted so the seams are on the top and I have yet to figure out how to do this without completely taking the pillows out and putting them back in, not a task I have energy for. The store came out to look and told me that it's just how the couch is made. Very bad design.

I bought a oversized rocker recliner on "sale" at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries for over $1100. I got it home and the recliner leg support was pretty wobbly side to side, for a brand new chair. Within a year or so the leg support no longer would stay up and support my legs. I called La-Z-Boy, remembering their so-called "Lifetime Warranty". They said they could send someone out to look at it but it will cost me $119 for a service call just look at it, and it could be more depending on what the fix was. So I decided to look at it myself to see what I could see. I took the back off (BIG MISTAKE) and turned upside down so I could see the workings of the leg support. I found the problem with leg support, a plastic piece, yes plastic, fell out of location and off, and that piece was supposed to support the weight of my legs. It wasn't like I abused my new chair, I spent some good money and wanted to make it last.
I got the plastic piece back in location and it worked again, problem solved, NOT! I tried and tried and tried to get the back of the chair back on, it simply would not stay attached. I turned the back upside down and where the bracket that holds the back to the base is located, on thin particle board yet, collapsed in 1 inch out of square. I take the cover off to see why and a little 3/4 inch wide soft pine corner block that was glued and "stapled" was detached. One little staple (only 2 put in total) was bent over and never penetrated. To make matters worse they attached a spring to the top of the particle board and that pulled it in even worse.
I could go on and on about the lack of quality in my La-Z-Boy but the bottom line is when you spend over $1100 on a chair by a big named dealer, I expect a little more. I wish that never bought La-Z-Boy brand and I know that I never will again, and I tell everybody I can about the poor, poor quality and workmanship. I used to build Ethan Allen chairs for a living so I have seen quality built in to a similar product. I never have written a review before but I want people to know that just because it has the name La-Z-Boy on it doesn't mean it has quality built in. I am so disappointed that I just had to write this, it did make me feel better getting this off my chest and if I can save just one person from making the same mistake I did by buying La-Z-Boy, this has been worth it.
