I purchased your top of the line leather recliner back in September. It was very expensive! I called yesterday for a repair order as it just quit working. I was told the soonest someone can come out is approx 3 weeks "due to the holidays". This is totally unacceptable to me. If you know the holidays are a busy time for repairs, why not staff up? This on the heels of a pending $3K order for additional furniture has me doubting my relationship with La-Z-Boy. I would appreciate a call from a supervisor, thank you.

We placed an order for custom upholstered furniture on 10/19. At that point, custom furniture was 4-6 weeks out on delivery and we were told to expect our furniture the week after Thanksgiving (11/30 - 6 weeks). When I called to inquire about the status of the order, I was told it was not even scheduled to leave the factory until 12/24 - 9+ weeks from the order date! Furthermore, I was told that we were never told the week after Thanksgiving for delivery. I am furious! Since we are moving in to a new home, I would NEVER have ordered furniture that would not have been here for the holidays! We have spoken to La-Z-Boy rep on 2 different occasions and find them to be quite rude and completely unhelpful. We will NEVER purchase from La-Z-Boy again! We were warned by friends and should have needed the warning!

Lo and behold my EZ Lift chair is malfunctioning yet again. Will file another claim tomorrow third. Warranty to run out soon then stuck with piece of crap paid $1000.00 for. La-Z-Boy refuses to replace as their warranty state to repair only, not replace. Be careful when buying for these scum as they don’t honor their product.

I have on La-Z-Boy products for 40 years between recliners and recliner couches. My family has also purchase La-Z-Boy recliners and still have 30 year old ones that are comfortable to sit in even though the material is worn. I purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner in June and 30 days after using it when reclined since it was a rocker recliner it would make a screeching noise. The technician came out and said, "I'll take pictures and send it to the factory. They'll let us know." I later spoke to customer service of the store I bought it from and they replace the chair. Now 5 months later the seat back lumbar support area feels like it is stuffed with rolled up socks. The customer service representative said, "Well you know they don't make things like they used to." My next Furniture purchase will be any brand but I might as well Payless for something else knowing that if it fails I can just pitch it and go buy another one for half price.

Ordered 2 of these (Astor Swivel Recliner 010519) on 12/7/2015 from Coffey Furniture, Granite Falls, NC. No order number. Both chairs have squeaked from the beginning and now are at the point where we are considering throwing them away. How do we lubricate to get rid of the squeak? What can we do. This is our 3rd order from La-Z-Boy but will have to be our last. HELP! Love the chairs but the squeaks are horrible. Coffey Furniture told us this is not their problem. This has been going on for most of the time we've had the chairs, but has gotten worse over time.

I want to start off and be clear when I say that when my wife and I started looking at furniture to put into our new house I wanted to go with La-Z-Boy because of their solid reputation and past experiences we have had. Like all things it seems these days I guess things have changed. The buying experience was fine and the sales team was knowledgeable and deliver was prompt and on schedule.

When our furniture arrived one of the leather chairs had a manufacturing defect in the right armrest and needed to be looked at by one of the service technicians. This visit was scheduled through customer care and he arrived as scheduled and ordered the necessary parts which in this case was a replacement armrest. This part arrived in a few weeks and we scheduled the tech to come back out and make the repairs.

About a week prior to the techs visit we noticed that the headrest on the right side of the sectional was peeling badly. This is obviously a huge concern since these couches are only 4 months old and have seen minimal use between my wife and myself. We also do not have any pets or children so there is no one else using this sofa but us. Now we contacted comfort care again to make our concerns known and we were told to allow the technician to look at it during his visit to replace the armrest on our chair.

When the technician arrived he removed the replacement armrest from the box and found that it was also damaged and told us that he didn't want to put it on and that we would need to order another one. We agreed and we asked him to now look at the headrest on the sofa, he did and stated that he agreed with our concern that real leather should not peel and that we certainly shouldn't be experiencing issues with anything after only four months. He said that he would write a report and that we should contact comfort care to find out what they are going to do for us to make this right. First though we removed the back of the sectional and took it to the store where we purchased our furniture and the store manager was appalled at what he saw and said that we should be allowed a full return and receive replacement furniture.

I have now reached out to comfort care on several occasions and been told that these issues do not warrant a replacement of our furniture but just a replacement of the damaged pieces. I have explained my concerns to them on the phone that I have no reason to believe that this issue will not continue with other pieces and once the factory warranty is out they would be under no obligation to do anything about it. I was told they would review the case as issues arise and deal with it then, this is totally unacceptable.

I spent almost 8,000 dollars of my hard earned money on new furniture and do not want to deal with anything. I have contacted them on several occasions and been told that a supervisor will contact me back within a few days which never happens and when I ask to speak to one I'm told they are unavailable. I have reached out to the corporate office to see if anyone is willing to help us since all we really want is what we paid for and now I'm putting this on here in the hopes that someone at La-Z-Boy gives a damn about their customers or is worried in the least about their business.

So after my Mom kept telling me to go look at furniture at La-Z-Boy (I was looking at less expensive options), I finally went in... She was buying us some of the furniture for our new home, so I checked it out. I was “captured” by the sales associates and fell in love with some pieces and the colors of the upgraded leather. Long story short, we, and my mother, purchased combined about $19K in furniture, which was an upgraded leather couch and 2 upgraded leather chairs (non-electric) and 4 pieces of wood living room furniture. Our living room looked perfect & beautiful, and we were happy, except that one of the chairs arrived with a “dent” in the back leather panel due to it leaning against something where it stretched the leather. We had a technician come to the house to assess the damage and he informed us to give it some time to see if it comes out on its own and that we had a year.

The backs of our recliners face the room, so this is a more important issue for us. So far, the dent is exactly the same as the day it was delivered, and we will need to address this, which may lead to another review. One of the options I was convinced into buying was the leather protection plan which I was assured would cover anything & everything that could go wrong with our very expensive, upgraded leather. Last week, my husband and I were putting some Frontline flea treatment on our dog. Unbeknownst to us at the time, she shook immediately after applying the treatment and it got on one of the recliners, which discolored the upgraded leather in several places. I was sick when I saw what had happened, but then realized that this was why we paid for the expensive leather protection plan I was convinced into purchasing by my sales person.

Upon contacting the warranty company, which is NOT a La-Z-Boy product, I was informed that my claim was denied because it was damage caused by a chemical which discolored the leather. This warranty company actually covers damage from cigarette burns, among other ridiculous mishaps, but will deny your claim for an honest mishap like putting flea treatment on your dog! Lesson learned, but really? I could be a drunken idiot, fall asleep with a burning cigarette and glass of booze and ruin my chair, and it’s covered — seriously? I am so disappointed, and I feel like a prize fool! I have not given up the good fight yet, but I believe it will be a fight to the end to make La-Z-Boy make things right by me — and I’m a VIP customer! BUYER BEWARE for sure! This story will continue...

The last set purchased 12/10/2013, both just stopped catching when reclining, granted they are 5 years old, they look like new and get a sitting time in the average of 10 hours per week. The warranty is a joke, I just called. It would cost average $250 to fix. The leather set prior to the last ones were not much better. Just disappointed.

Worst recliner ever, & not even a year old. When I bought it the sales rep told me that this was the best chair for comfort and back support since I have a bad back & was having pain in my shoulder. Bought it on 12/8/17 and already had to replace the seat, leg rest, and all the backing in the chair. I had shoulder surgery in April & have been out of work since because of the pain from surgery so, I have not been able to sleep in bed, so I have been practically living in this uncomfortable chair that was supposedly to be the best chair they had. When I was sitting on it, it felt like I was sitting on a board. When the repair guy came out on 9/28/18 he said the chair was crooked, leg clamps were missing on the right & left side and that the back Poly-fil was compressed.

When he sat on it he even said, "You're sitting on a board," & I said, "Yes that’s why my tailbone hurts all the time." He said he needed to order the parts and when they were all here I should call so he could come and install them. On 9/28/18 I called and spoke with a Nicole and voiced my concerns about replacing so much of the chair and would everything sit right with the new parts. She said she would have to wait till they got the repairman's report before they could tell what they would do. 10/1/18 I called back and talked to Theresa about it and she was not sympathetic at all. 10/2/18 called and talked to Maryann. Told her my concerns that my year would be up on 12/8/18 and that if I still had problems it would be out of warranty & out of my pocket. She said, "You have a year." 10/17/18 called parts are here.

10/23/18 talked to Theresa. Not up to comfort level. She said it’s built to the design & there’s no other changes to be made. My mom even sat in it & said she felt like she was sitting on a board and this is after they replaced everything. My mom buys La-Z-Boy all the time. That’s the only furniture she has in her house & she said this is the worst piece of furniture she has ever seen. 11/6/18 called to speak to supervisor & got Nicole, she wanted me to email her pictures of the chair so she could see what it looked like. 11/8/18 emailed pictures to Natalie. Natalie called and said that she would talk to the next level of support so they could review the report & pictures. I told her that I told them comfort level not up to what I thought it would be after repair was done. It’s just as BAD! And that I was told comfort level is subjective, repair is unit built to specifications & built to design and repair would be as is, no other changes to be made.

11/12/18 Natalie wanted more pictures at a different angle and said she would get back to me either later that day or the next. Well she didn’t so on 11/15/18 I sent her an email saying I hadn’t heard from her like she said & that if she could please call me. 11/16/18 still no call so I called in and talked to Moses and said I was dealing with Natalie. He asked if he could help and I said I was dealing with her, so he said he would let her know I called. 11/17/18 called corporate office and left a message for the president Don Butcher to call me. No return call. Whatever happened to the customer is always right & customer satisfaction!

We decided to buy a La-Z-Boy couch and sofa since there is a lifetime warranty and supposedly they are the best builders of couches. Well the problem here starts with the engineering of this product. After about a month, the area just under the armrest, where your elbow floats down... Since not everyone leaves their arm UP on the armrest (which is padded). There is an exposed (just under the material... Not padded at all) right angle of plywood! The sofa was really bad and they took a while to send out a new arm then another week to install it only to find that this arm is no better! Meanwhile the COUCH arms, just under the padded top have worked the padding away, exposing a hardwood edge which we have bruised our elbows on, forgetting it is there.

Our Sam's Club recliner couch didn't have this! I called our local number and asked a customer service rep to give me her superior. I told her that these couches are poorly engineered and actually harming us! I asked about adding some padding so we don't keep hitting our elbows on the exposed wood. She told us they cannot alter it or it will void the warranty. Then she said the couch won't operate properly if there is padding added. I beg to differ... It would be fine. She said MAYBE we can pay a 30% "RESTOCKING FEE" and then get credit for the rest for other couches. Then she said these items that they are "RESTOCKING" will be destroyed!!! The other option is that WE sell them! So I am supposed to pay them $900.00 to destroy a poorly engineered couch?

On top of that, when we first got them, the footrest had staples all the way out, gouging my husbands calf. They came in, admitted the staples are not supposed to go out that far then sewed it. Well the sewn part lasted about 2 weeks and it is popped again. The repairman was SUPPOSED to fix that when he put in the arm and was supposed to figure out why both recliners on the couch seemed to stick when reclining. Again our $250.00 Sam's Club recliner couch didn't stick and there was no exposed wood to bang their elbows on! To tell me "No one else complained" is quite demeaning. I said, "Is it possible we just got a bad couch and sofa? Isn't replacing the arm an admission to a poor design?" On a side note, the conduction of electrostatic on these couches is beyond painful! We are shocked EVERY time we get up! Just not happy with La-Z-Boy.

This company does not have the quality merchandise that it did before it sold out to comfort care. The foam padding and Dacron in the seat and back of my rocker recliner has failed. I can feel the wood frame through the padding. This chair is less than three years old. I called La-Z-Boy comfort care and they want to charge me $100 service call to just come to my house. I have contacted furniture reupholstery companies to get the padding replaced and it would cost me more to do this than to go out and purchase a new chair. There is no way for the padding and foam rubber to be replaced, without completely removing the fabric.

This is where the expense comes in at getting it reupholstered and or repaired. I do have a La-Z-Boy chair that is close to 40 years old, and the padding and foam in that is still good. Even though when you sit down in their furniture, it feels soft and cushy, it will break down and need to be replaced not long after the warranty expires. Beware. Ask questions. Don't just purchase it because it feels good.

We've never had a worse experience. To start with on the promised delivery date they discovered one of the couches didn't meet quality. They had a week to discover this, but waited until the delivery day to check. Then we couldn't get a straight answer from then on when we would get the couch we'd already paid for. Finally got a confirmed date and then the delivery guys couldn't find the house even though everyone else who has ever delivered has been able to.

Forward a few months and the recliner already had to be repaired. It was a DIY job, but seriously the thing can't stay together a few months? Now we have a motorized part on the sofa that no longer works, only a few months from purchase, and they want $85 to come out and fix their crappy furniture. Why would you buy from a place that does so little to stand behind their product? I believe La-Z-Boy means they're too lazy to care about customer service.

The contract is written only in favor of La-Z-Boy and even states at the bottom, "...any oral agreement on premises cannot change the foregoing between buyer and seller." In other words, the sales rep tells you anything to get you to buy the furniture, gives very misleading information, or leaves out very important information about the warranty (like ONLY La-Z-Boy leather spray can be used at so many times a year or the warranty is null and void). There are two small areas on the seat that we just noticed last night that where it is also beginning to discolor. I reached out to La-Z-Boy the cost to fix $760 - no way is it worth it - it is probably the same crap quality materials that they would replace it with so I'd be back to square one in less than two years. I will NEVER purchase anything from La-Z-Boy again. It is sad that an iconic brand has deteriorated to this terrible level of quality.

I wish I had done my research - learn from my mistake La-Z-Boy is NOT what it used to be. I wanted to do something really nice for my dad, he was 73 years old at the time so I thought I'd buy him a top quality recliner. We paid $1,000 for a leather recliner Christmas 2016, the best one that they had in the store. I own a La-Z-Boy leather recliner, it is over 20 years old. I clean and condition regularly and it looks like brand new, so we didn't purchase the extended warranty, but we did spend the extra $40 on the leather care products.

The saddest part this is the biggest item I have ever purchased for my parents, they do so much for me and I honestly thought that I was giving my dad something he would treasure for the rest of his years, and it breaks my heart that I spent $1000 to give him a crappy piece of furniture that most people wouldn't want in their living room. I now know you cannot trust product history.

Mainly on the head section and slightly on the arm section. The rest of the leather looks really good (including seat area). This is a common known issue with defective bonded leather material. The warranty expired and La-Z-Boy refuses to do the right thing by a loyal customer. This is my third set of La-Z-Boy furniture. We have purchased several items of leather covered furniture over the years. We were always assured by sales staff that the leather process used by the company ensured that the leather would not discolor, fade, peel etc. The first set of recliners we had for 18 years and true to the claim, the leather withstood daily use, grandkids, pets etc. The second item an overstuffed sofa which we have had for 12 years also had no discoloration, fading, peeling etc. However in 2017 we purchased 2 replacement recliners and again received the same pitch that the leather would not discolor, peel etc. In less than a year, the finish on the leather started to deteriorate which we reported. The company sent a person out to take pictures of the problem.

After 3 months with no report from customer care rep, I contacted her. Immediate response, they think it is the result of body oils, hair products or something else that we caused. Ignoring the fact that our leather sofa was not showing any of that discoloration. In October, I drafted a letter outlining the above, informed them that either the sales staff had misrepresented the product or that the batch process on the leather used had a quality control flaw. I suggested a remedy that we could accept and we would then purchase 2 new recliners from them. To date I have not heard a response. The copy of the receipt is purple ink on pink paper and is illegible but is dated October 5, 2017. My next move will be to contact legal counsel.

We purchased a chair and a couch to replace the ones we owned for 16yrs. The chair pilled, the fabric ripped at the seams, the springs sag, the arms are flat/sagging. General attitude is "too bad, so sad." I could have purchased a better quality piece of furniture at Wal-mart and spent a lot less.

3 years ago purchased a Briggs sofa with material code C124153. It has been fine. Very happy with it so we purchased a new Briggs sofa and chair with a different material for our living room material code D148707 and it has been a disaster. We contacted Forever Furniture 2 months after purchase. They said they have to follow a procedure and send someone to shave the furniture as pilling is normal with some fabrics and so they did a week later it was even worse and they came again shaved again but it didn't help.

Now some of the pattern is worn away and threads are fraying. We are seniors. There are no pets or children in the house. It is just a bad batch of fabric. Forever Furniture agrees the fabric is bad but it will take 6-8 weeks to get La-Z-Boy to agree to replace the fabric and another 6-8 weeks to get the work done which is likely a low estimate since it took 12 weeks to get originally. This is an unreasonably long time to get service and is not acceptable.

I did call the store but was told there was at least a week's delay before the order was sent in but that I should receive advice of my balance due and a delivery date by the next week. Nearly two weeks have elapsed since the telephone call and I have heard nothing from La-Z-Boy. Customer service seems to be lacking here. A telephone call or email explaining the delay and estimated time of delivery would be nice.

I purchased a beautiful electric recliner couch 12-13 17 from Jeff, wonderful and helpful salesman. That is where it ended. July 5th of 2018 with my purchase only being 6 months old the trouble started. I was vacuuming my couch cushions when I noticed the material was fraying. I don't have an industrial vacuum, just a Hoover Wind Tunnel. For 6 months I was given the runaround trying to get something positive done. In the meantime I was informed that the material was discontinued. I wonder why.

Finally someone at Comfort Care informed me they could not help me. At the present time I am stuck with an 1,800 sofa that has a hole in it. I thought when I was purchasing a La-Z-Boy sofa I was getting the best of the best. I was treated with more respect from Furniture Factory Warehouse in San Antonio. I thought La-Z-Boy had high standards, I was wrong. I would never recommend this store to anyone. The bad part is I still owe 500.00. So much for the last couch I would purchase. I see Lacks is here in Corpus. Now looking forward to a couch that will not get a hole in it, and a company that stands by its quality.

My dad bought one of your power recliner XR+ chairs 2 years ago after he well researched which chair was best for his medical condition. Your chair was #1 so he went down to the store and tried the demo out and ordered one to be made. Since its delivery he has had issues with the foot rest catching his carpeting. My dad being disabled was unable to use he body to push back and lift and relied completely on the remote control to ease his legs up and lift him back, which in the store it did perfectly (but you didn't account for carpet). My dad called numerous times until a rep was finally sent out to investigate. His solution was to accuse my dad of trying to back out of his contract that there was nothing wrong with the chair. I tried to suggest the chair needed a lift but he argued again that nothing was wrong with the chair.

Again my dad kept calling until in June 2018 a rep by the name John ** came out and inspected the chair and he understood the issue we had with the chair as now the carpet underneath the footrest was showing the wear and tear from the movement. Mr. ** took pictures and documented the issues, soon after his inspection he sent out an email stating that an adjustment was needed and needed to be further reviewed as the concern was unresolved. My dad sent out an email to La-Z-Boy on or about August 19, 2018 asking when his chair was going to be repaired? as it has been 2 months. On or about August 24, 2018 La-Z-Boy rep Ashleigh ** sent an email stating sorry for the delays but they were sending all the photos and reports to the product specialist to be reviewed. Once they have a determination they will contact you to discuss. Meanwhile more and more my dad used the chair it wore more and more into the carpeting.

As I stated earlier my dad was disabled and that chair was his saving grace. It was a medical necessity to his survival. He only bought it due to the leg lift and remote control operation. On or about September 6, 2018 La-Z-Boy called the home and left the message that a chair raiser was ordered and a rep would be coming out to install it. Two days later dad went to use the chair and the leg lift began, made a noise and hasn't worked since. My guess was due to repair negligence the motor finally burnt out. So on or about September 8th my dad emailed La-Z-Boy again and told them, "the leg lift no longer works and he needs to raise his legs for medical reasons, this is why I purchased the chair. Please tell the repairman to come out. Please I need this fixed." No one has ever called back, emailed or came out.

Now let's fast forward to TODAY...no actually let's fast forward to this coming Friday November 2nd when my father, who bought this chair for medical reasons back on August 22, 2016; has complained about the same issue since day one and since the chair stopped working in September, his medical issues rapidly declined from being unable to use the chair to raise his feet is being laid to rest as he passed away on Saturday. How can it take your company over two years to know about an issue and yet still not fix it. This chair has cost me more than you will ever know; $2000 for its purchase, a worn carpet, medical bills and a $6000 funeral. I still have this broken chair in my house and it still needs to be fixed but you also owe more than that. Your regard for repair follow through and Customer Care inapprehensible. 2 years and you couldn't even fix the issue...

I now see where the La-Z part comes in...in the attached pictures you will see the leg rest that is no longer operable and stuck in that position as well as the carpet which is fluffy until you get to the front of the footrest it is all smooshed and matted down with pieces of carpet pulled up in spots from being caught in the drag of the footrest.

I found out the hard way that only La-Z-Boy's recliners are covered in real leather, love seats and couches are covered in BONDED leather, it is vinyl looking material bonded to fabric. We bought a recliner, a couch and a love seat exactly three years ago for $8,400. We also bought insurance with Ultra Shield through La-Z-Boy.

About six months ago, the vinyl started to come off on the couch. My wife called Ultra Shield. They refused to cover the damage. They only cover spills. Now, the vinyl is coming off big time in several places, even places nobody ever sat on. I called Ultra Shield again and they told me that material failure is not covered. I called La-Z-Boy and they told me that the warranty is expired, but, if I want to pay out of pocket, they will refer the claim to a serviceman. The serviceman called me and told me that the vinyl (or bonded leather, as La-Z-Boy calls it) is discontinued. After only three years, they don't even stock enough material for simple repairs. So, we are out $8,400. Why is company allowed to rip off customers?

We custom ordered 2 couches in June, 2018 after selecting them based on the floor model. After 6-8 weeks, as we were told, the couches arrived but they are not the same as what we ordered. While the color and fabric is fine, the couches are hard, sit higher than the floor model so my feet don't touch the floor, and the back of the couches are low and don't offer neck support.

We went back to the store to look at the floor model and my feet touch the floor and offers neck support. We complained and the store sent technicians out to measure the couches and the technicians agreed that indeed it didn't offer neck support and saw my feet don't touch the floor. A week later, the store called us and said there is nothing wrong with the measurements and no difference from the store model. They did not offer to make any restitution or make new couches. These are horrible sitting couches and paid nearly $3,000 for them. We will never buy La-Z-Boy again and cannot recommend the Pensacola store. Very disappointed.

We are pensioners and decided to purchase new reclining sofa, chairs and loveseat for our retirement years. We already have a La-Z-Boy rocking chair that is 40 years old and still in perfect condition. The new items we purchased cost us approx $6,000 total. We were very excited when first receiving them but soon realised that in order to have the recliners work we had to have electrical sockets to plug in the furniture in order to use the reclining motion. We should have called and asked for a refund right then and there but we didn’t because we thought this was normal for recliners, IT IS NOT, my sister bought a reclining sofa and chair from a reputable company in UK and it is silent and motor operated.

Unlike the La-Z-Boy which is noisy, squeaky and we have wires all over the place that look messy and could cause tripping injury. We called La-Z-Boy numerous times regarding the poor quality of our purchase (flattening of seating, wearing down of material, hardwood when you happen to miss the seating position, etc, etc). We included photos of the poor quality of the fabric and uneven frames of both the chairs and sofa. The loveseat fabric pilled after 4 months and we experienced very negative responses from La-Z-Boy staff. The whole experience made us want to give up, swallow the cost and buy from The Brick or Ikea. We are so disgusted with our experience, we would beg people to never shop there. Buy cheap furniture from somewhere else and when it wears out buy more; it will be far cheaper, more comfortable, and more rewarding than purchasing from La-Z-Boy.

Started pilling again in September.

I wasted so much time going back and forth - never even offered anything (pillows/discounts, nothing) for the first time and all the hassles. I feel I was duped - there has to be an issue with this fabric and I was encouraged and assured this was a fluke. Now with Holidays coming, I've no hope for new sofa before Christmas and will have to completely look for a new fabric. So disappointed in La-Z-Boy furniture. I live alone and the furniture has been hardly used. I specifically purchased the set because of the brand La-Z-Boy which has always stood for quality and customer service. This is no longer that brand and La-Z-Boy no longer stands behind their product. When I contacted the store I purchased the product from they informed me that the warranty issued by La-Z-Boy only covers the material and no longer covers the labor cost. They also informed me by the time I pay for a repair (if even possible) of the frame it would cost as much as a new sofa!!

I then contacted La-Z-Boy knowing they would stand behind their product...their brand and what it USED TO mean. Well that is not the La-Z-Boy company of today. They responded with a WE DON’T CARE form email and informed me that I would need to pay for any repairs to the store where I purchased the product from... In short they don’t get involved and they don’t care. I obviously will never purchase another product made by La-Z-Boy and I hope this review saves at least one person from making the same mistake I made. When I asked why, they said they would find out. It took over a week to get an answer, and now we are pushed back ANOTHER six weeks, which now equals 12 weeks out. If there is a manufacturing delay on these chairs, why don't the retailers have access to that information? I have sold my other chairs and am now sitting 'chair-less' thru a family event, and quite possibly the holidays.

I would think a retailer as large as La-Z-Boy would have better communication with their retailers and customers. By not telling us what was happening with this order, it makes the retailer look bad as well as corporate and it is not terribly convenient for the customer either. I am really disappointed in how this has transpired. Quality products are worth a wait, but I wonder how long I will have to wait for these chairs that have had a half down on them (over $1000) since the end of August.

I called in March of 2018 because the backs were sagging and the seat cushions were imprinted. Service came out and said for us just to fluff the back; unzip it and pull all the stuffing up and fluff it up. That is ridiculous for a new piece of furniture. I complained on their website and was answered: (holding my nose here) "They have met La-Z-Boy manufacturing guidelines." In addition to those irritants, now the color of the fabric is actually RUBBING OFF on the chair arms. When you vacuum the chairs, there is no padding below the fabric, so you scrape the frame each time! I have a Flexsteel LOVESEAT and it is perfectly made; quality construction and the frame is padded so you don't catch your vacuum on the fabric each time you clean. Very angry and feel betrayed by this company. Sales were wonderful.

About me: I am a 71-yr-old retired professional female, 5'4-1/2" tall,160 lbs. I am unmarried and live on a fixed income. My working career spanned 50 years. I assumed the role of property manager for the 10-unit senior condominium where I live in order to earn a little more money. My work here is 24/7. Events: On 12/19/17, I bought a special order burgundy leather electric rocker recliner from the Pensacola, FL Lazboy store: Style 1HR512, Base Cover LB133409. Total cost was $1,666.20. My lovely chair was delivered on 01/29/18.

About 03/31/18 I called the local store and reported the following: (a) The stuffing IN THE BACK had collapsed and was becoming very uncomfortable; (b) The stuffing UNDER/BEHIND THE KNEES had collapsed, putting pressure on my knees; (c) The chair jerked sideways and up and down when opening to recline and when closing to arise; (d) The chair "dinged" when I rocked, which was very annoying; (e) The back and seat portions when opened, could slide apart when changing positions. When that occurred, a gap of 4-5" existed under my bottom which exposed sharp metal parts, which was dangerous when the TV clicker (or any other object) slipped through and I reached to retrieve it.

On 03/31/18, two gentlemen from the Mobile, AL Marks Furniture came and examined and photographed the chair. The stuffing collapse was obvious. They advised that I would hear back from them or the local store in a few days. 04/06 or 07, 2018, Jessica, the local Customer Care Representative, called me to advise that I would be receiving "a new CHAIR BACK" soon via UPS or other. The Mobile store would call and arrange a pick-up of the chair and take it back with them for "repair". Three or four days later I received a large bag of foam and a small bag of foam!?? Jessica's voicemail said she was on vacation for a week and to leave a message. I left a message and waited.

On 05/08/18, the Mobile store picked up the chair and the two bags of foam and left. They returned my chair on 05/23/18. We (the Mobile team and I) noticed that the leather was quite loose over the stuffing under the knees. They offered to take it back and try again, but I needed the chair and suggested I give it a try since it was "home" again.

After a few days or so, the stuffing in the back and under the knees began to collapse again. On 07/17/18, I called the store and again left a voicemail that the back and the padding under my knees had again collapsed, and asked that someone call me back as soon as possible. (I have NEVER had a human answer the phone when I call this store.)

By July 27 when I had still not heard back from anyone, I posted a negative review online. On July 28 I received an email from Jessica wanting to schedule another service call for August 1(someone with La-Z-Boy had obviously seen my complaint). I told her I was at the point where I believed it was best that I request a refund. She asked that we try this again. I was unavailable on August 1, but we agreed to a service call on August 8, 2018.

August 8, the Mobile crew showed up and agreed the chair was obviously not in satisfactory shape, and offered to take the chair and try again. I said I preferred to keep the chair until we decided what to do. They took more photos which showed the sagging leather in the BACK and the LEG REST and left. August 10, Jessica emailed that she was submitting the photos and "repair" history to La-Z-Boy Product Support and Warranty and would let me know when she heard back.

On August 10, I received a box of what felt like foam but in fact was a SEAT and FOOTREST portion that is so under-padded that it obviously will not work.(BUT WHAT ABOUT MY BACK portion???) On September 3, I called the store again. Every time I call the store I reach a message and have to leave them a message, which I did. No one has ever called me back.

On September 10, I DROVE to the local La-Z-Boy store and spoke to a young man about the problems I am having getting satisfaction from them. He directed me to a woman named "Ann". I patiently told her briefly about my chair issue and her solution was to write down and give me an email address for another La-Z-Boy employee, Mat **, at **. I tried to tell her that I have been trying since March to get some relief, but she insisted that "Mat" can help me and turned to resume her conversation with another lady. Needless to say I left very discouraged.

Today is October 11 and to say that I am disappointed with La-Z-Boy is a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT! It has been nearly 1 YEAR since I tried out this model chair in the showroom and paid to have one custom made in cranberry leather. I bought and paid what to me was a small fortune for this electric leather rocker recliner. I bought it from LA-Z-BOY, one of the best-known furniture makers in the country. I TRUSTED LA-Z-BOY!

Today I called the local store and left an angry but clean message that I would like someone to call me back as soon as possible. It's been over 4 hours and no one has called me back. I have arthritis and pinched nerves in my neck. I have collapsed discs in my back and see a chiropractic neurologist twice a week. I bought this fine chair because I believed in the La-Z-Boy name and I just knew I was buying the best and last comfort chair I would ever own. Well, that didn't happen... BUYER BEWARE!

Purchased a $2000 leather power rocker recliner in May, 2017. Soon after, it had a mechanical failure (a broken weld on the recliner mechanism), which was fixed at no charge in a very reasonable time period, after one call to the service department. So far, so good. Today (10/11/18) I discover that the leather surface of the headrest is de-laminating and called the same service department. The representative looked up my file, stated that I had not purchased the extended warranty, and blithely stated there was nothing he could do.

Apparently the "Lifetime Limited Warranty" does not cover anything except wood and metal. In what came off as a well rehearsed speech, I was told the leather deterioration was due to "body oils or something else in the house", despite the fact that he hadn't even seen the problem, and despite me pointing out that I have two leather Stress-less Recliners, that the same people have been sitting in, in the same house, for over 15 years, that have shown no sign of similar deterioration. The guy sounded almost gleeful as he told me I could purchase a new chair back for about $500...it was obvious he'd said the same things to other unfortunate consumers before me. Don't know what my next step will be, but I felt I had to at least warn other people not to buy this trash!

I bought a small recliner on 5/27/18. There is no padding on the arms so the frame rubs my arms, and I have no doubt this will make for uneven wear on the fabric. The fabric showed wear after only 2 months. I contacted my dealer, and they said they could do nothing. Call customer service, they said. After two weeks and 4 calls, I got customer service to answer. The only thing they could do was to schedule a service call. The service technician came two weeks later. Since then I have heard nothing. No contact at all. La-Z-Boy will not take the chair back, they will not replace it, they will not refund any part of the price.

I’ve owned at least 8 of their recliners. I didn’t even shop around, I trusted their brand. They do not make a quality product anymore. They will sell you the chair, then tack on every single charge they can (such as upgrade fabric, add fabric protection, deliver, etc.), but you are on.your.own. When you get that chair home. On.your.own. The chair I have is cheap. I’ve been had.

Store said they would "rebuild" it. After thinking about it, no returned phone calls, 2-week lapse in parts ordering, keeping all our money, we decided we did not spend $7000.00 for REBUILT furniture! The poor customer service made us realize that there was no way any warranty would be honored. A week after purchase, our sales rep. tells me that for the next 10 years, I would have to drive 45 minutes to the store to have my leather conditioner bottles filled up and use at least 4 times a year. If any other product used, the warranty would be null and void... one of many facts they do not tell you at time of purchase. READ THE CONTRACT!!! It is very one-sided in favor of La-Z-Boy.

I bought a sectional couch and an ottoman for $5000 with the 5 year warranty 7/2016. The couch itself is great but the material is garbage. After about a year I noticed the leather or faux leather, whatever it is, started to peel away from the fabric. This stuff is as thin as paint. Now it is doing it over the whole sectional and ottoman. I called La-Z-Boy and they told me I would have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I also called the 3rd party warranty company for the plan I purchased and they denied my claim based on the fact that they don’t cover peeling. So really what was the point paying for something I can’t use? I then called La-Z-Boy back and was still told I would have to pay out of pocket to get my 2 year old $5000 couch fixed.

I was also told by someone in the La-Z-Boy company that this is a known problem. As soon as I mentioned what kind of material I had on my couch they knew exactly what the problem was. I think it’s bs that they will not stand by their product and fix what they know is wrong. There should be more help for something that is only 2 years old other than having to fork out more than the $5000 I paid.

Today I visited the La-Z-Boy at Galleria in HENDERSON NV. I needed assistance with a product dilemma that has persisted for 3.5 years and three service calls deep unresolved. My intent was not to deride, sow discord or find fault, but to merely work the problem objectively with the only group that could help me, the provider.

I was met at the door by an older salesman. Being an elderly businessman owning a 43 year old company myself, I felt comfortable with another old school like myself. This was the first stage of disappointment, where my old school salesman went millennial on me and rudely cut my intro short and stated the only help was a 1 800 number. I shared I was all too familiar with that scenario and may I speak to the manager.

I spoke to the manager young Brian who was skittish as a colt at the prospect of having to deal with an issue and as I began to share my dilemma it was as if Deja Vu kicked in as I was immediately and rudely cut short as he stated he did not handle problems, that I would have to call customer service 1800 and appeal to them. I expressed my disappointment to him, that a long time customer of 30 years could find such a hopeless disconnect between sales and service. La-Z-Boy is not the company I knew as a trusted old school furniture solution. It is no wonder Amazon is so successful when the sales to service relationship becomes a road kill philosophy. There other more amenable solutions for furniture and I recommend research.

The fabric became very loose & wrinkled, became paper thin and then ripped.

We went through the Ultra Shield Protection Plan to get that repaired - only to be told now that they would NOT repair/replace the sections they already did because they already did it ONCE. It didn't matter that it is a 5 YEAR policy!! We are NOT overweight people that these cushions should become so deflated in such a short period of time and now that the 1-year warranty period is over by La-Z-Boy, they won't cover any replacement/repairs without charging me --even though it's been a continuing problem!! We ordered a couch in November of 2017. It was delivered in late December. It had damage to the back panel. Called Service at 214-631-1813, was routed to Valerie (M through Z). She sent a furniture repair man to the house to do an assessment. He left with no instructions. A package with repair materials arrived at the house with no instructions. I called Valerie back a few months later asking what the next step was, she indicated that "I was supposed to call when the materials were received." I had no knowledge of this and as this is not a primary residence but where my senior mom lives. Anyway Valerie indicated she would send this to scheduling. I heard nothing.

I called to 9/24, left a voicemail again. Valerie called back, in my voicemail I was clear that I was frustrated. She called without looking into the details so I had to talk her through the story again. She said she is letting scheduling know and that I would hear back in 48 hours. I told her this was the most frustrating experience I have ever had with purchasing something of value and asked if there was anyone I can escalate this to? She replied No, that I could go to www.la-z-boy.com.

Wow - I am so upset. I wish I could send the couch back and get my money back. So now I am at the mercy of waiting 48 hours for scheduling to call me back and my only recourse is to call Valerie who has failed to get the new couch repaired in nine months...this was a couch bought after my mother's house was flooded in Hurricane Harvey. We have rebuilt the house from the studs up in less time than it has taken to get this couch repaired. My complaint is that there is NO ESCALATION or review process on the completion of service order!!! She indicated that there were calls to my phone with no answer, I have checked my call log and voicemail and have found no calls from the Dallas number or voicemails. Any recommendations?

I was told that coverings are not part of the warranty and I could call La Z Boy and see what they would say. They said they could send someone out, at my cost, to see if anything could be done. It is quite obvious that the only remedy would be replacement. I know they will say it is not something they will replace for free. I refuse to have it replaced with the same crap that is Renew. The stuffing in the furniture has worn down, and the sectional is uncomfortable....you can feel a wooden block through the side of the recliner. I've had cheaper furniture that lasted longer than this. This is NOT covered under the 5 year extended warranty. I have some stains, that I thought maybe they could help with. We replaced our 20-year-old La-Z-Boy recliners and couch with a new set because we wanted a color change. The old set was great quality and still functional. The new leather on this now 5-year-old set looks worn and shoddy. One recliner broke and needed a new sidearm which took 4 months to repair. We are totally disappointed with our $4,000 purchase of what now seems to be garbage.

I had always enjoyed great quality with pieces purchased at La-Z-Boy. Their sales staff were helpful (Greenville, SC Store). I bought a double reclining leather sofa - custom ordered red. I spent a lot more than intended, but I figured this would last a very long time. I bought the warranty. I have had this leather sofa less than 2 years, and it is horribly cracked and peeled. The leather is literally peeling away from the fabric - which is what happens when you buy the cheap leatherette or bonded leather. So, I called to initiate my warranty. Cracking and peeling is not covered. They only cover if you knife or burn, but poor quality on their part is not covered under the warranty. I'm very disappointed. I should mention, we are light on the sofa. I work a lot so it is truly lightly used. I don't know if they changed their quality on everything, but buyer beware their leather is pure garbage.

We purchased two large oversized recliners exactly the same. Within a few months both of the backs have a piece of wood that broke in the exact same place. The one used by my husband broke first and mine broke shortly thereafter. My husband weighs 175 and I weigh 150 so I don't think weight was a factor. I called several times and left voicemail for their customer service person. She never answered her phone and never returned my call. This was done within a year of purchasing. In the past we had a lazy boy that lasted 36 years and it was still pretty good when my son sold it. Now the quality and workmanship is extremely poor as is their customer service. I would never recommend or purchase their products again. In addition these are the most uncomfortable chairs we have ever used. You must insert a cushion behind your back as these sink in so far they really hurt your back.

I purchased a Charlotte 7-piece set, including matching chase and end-tables. Within a 3-year period I noticed the resin weave side and chair backing materials starting to crack on all the pieces. I was not worried at first, thinking that the 7-year warranty would take care of it, but to my great disappointment, I was told the resing weave was only warranted for one-year! I made my purchase decision based on the prestige of the name-brand and the years of service myself and family had enjoyed in the past with La-Z-Boy products. The product tags on individual pieces prominently advertising the 7-year warranty and claims of "all weather resin weave..." certainly fooled me.

I think this advertising was very deceptive. In my case, Within a 3-year period the resin completely lost integrity, which created a safety hazard as the weave abruptly gave away from the cushion back as you lean against it. My daughter fell through it as she was leaning back on the chair, luckily she landed on the cushion as she projectiled though it! I'm very disappointed with this product and the fact that the company has not even tried to acknowledge this material defect.

Ultra Shield came out three times, or their tech did, to clean my chair that had a stain covered by the warranty.

First time: Tech walked in, took pictures and left. We never heard back. Two weeks later we called, a second tech came out with a spray bottle he purchased at our local Lowe's, per his own admission. He sprayed the stain, scrubbed, said the material was defective and we would get a new back for the chair. Then we heard nothing for weeks, so we called again. Third time, tech came out with a different cleaner, poured scalding water all over the chair, sprayed from his Lowe's bottle and again said the chair would not be repairable, fabric was defective and we would get a new back. Never heard from them again.

I order my $3000 sectional on July 4th and had a great in-store experience. Since then, my experience has gone from disappointing to devasting. My original order said the couch would be delivered in 4-6 weeks. 5 weeks after I placed my order I called La-Z-Boy and they told me the couch would arrive AUGUST 27 and I might have it by SEPTEMBER. I called my original store back and spoke with the manager (by the way, there is no escalation calls at La-Z-Boy, the store manager is the top of the ladder) and he was able to get the couch shipped from Tennessee on August 13th. Another sales rep called me that same week and said it would be another 10 days and they could send me a loaner. I eventually got my couch on August 23. What bothered me the most is that no one notified me that the couch would be arriving 7 weeks, and possibly 9 weeks, after I placed me order. If I hadn't called on a daily basis, I would still be waiting two more weeks.

Oh, and the couch arrived broken. The couch was delivered on Thursday, I called three times on Friday regarding service to the furniture and the service tech dispatcher finally called at 6pm that day only to tell me that the next available appointment to have someone "assess" the damage was another week. I requested a morning only appointment only to have an automated message call me two days prior to tell me the tech would be here between 4:30-6:30 pm. I called the service line back to request (again) a morning service and she told me that it was impossible to reschedule for that day and if I wanted a morning appointment, I'd have to wait another week. I did receive a shipping and delivery charge refund but no amount of money can compensate me for the stress, aggravation, and inconvenience this company has caused. Stay away from La-Z-Boy. However so disappointing to find that the leather stitching is ripping apart, and the appearance of random cracks all over the sofa, as well. It’s evident that La-Z-Boy’s material quality has deteriorated; which explains why La-Z-Boy only offers a one year warranty on leather. What a waste of money considering I paid $4000 on this leather sofa, loveseat, and recliner chair set. Terrible quality for the price I paid. I will never purchase La-Z-Boy again in my lifetime. Don't fool yourself into thinking there will be some dependability associated with a national name like La-Z-Boy. My bad experience started when I arrived at the Rockville La-Z-Boy store at 5:55 pm on a weeknight to purchase 2 recliners, and was immediately "greeted" inside by an unfriendly representation telling me the store was closed. Despite the fact that the store door and website both said closing time was 9 pm not 6 pm -- and despite my having driven an hour to get there. Later I went to the VA La-Z-Boy store and literally spent 10x the normal cost on recliners (e.g. spent thousands of dollars more to buy cloth La-Z-Boys on sale --instead of the hundreds I could have spent to have 2 nice leather recliners from any local retailer that would have delivered immediately -- because I thought the La-Z-Boy brand would last longer). Took 2 months to receive the chairs.

Upon receipt the first chair made a clicking sound but the delivery man said nothing was wrong with it. Within 5 months plastic pieces fell from the bottom of the chair when reclined. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to answer the La-Z-Boy service phone, we waited a month for a serviceman to come. Waited another week after that for the part. Now am waiting for another month for the part installation appointment -- on a chair that was less than 5 months old. Even though I was polite the phone agent disconnected me & other dissatisfied customers from their "satisfaction survey" so their ratings will look artificially higher. I wish I had saved thousands and bought a reliable recliner from a store that cares about quality and service. I also spend hundreds buying the extra chair warranties -- but wonder if the company will even remain in business long enough to use them given the way that business functions.

I want to update my review from yesterday. I was able to call today and speak with a manager and with some resistance I was able to get them to replace the stuffing in the chair, The Rocker base and to recover with a different leather since they no longer carry it for a minimal fee of a hundred and some dollars. I wanted to make sure that I gave them credit for resolving the problem.

Bought a recliner two and a half years ago under the impression that La-Z-Boy continued to be a quality company. We contacted them for a warranty repair as the leather is splitting its discoloring and is torn by where the frame is from the wood underneath. In addition, the stuffing is coming out. We were informed that nothing was covered and they couldn't even replace the leather at a cost to us because they no longer make that color. I have a leather sofa and loveseat that are almost 20 years old that's still look great and have not have any of these problems. Best to stay away from this company if you're looking for a quality product.

Thank you La-Z-Boy!!! Last week after almost 16 years, my trusty chair fell completely apart. This is no ordinary chair. Because of my health conditions, I live in my chair - I sleep, eat, watch TV and read in my chair. The only time I am not in that chair is when I am on the computer and here in my desk chair or the other all important bathroom throne. These last few days have been awful as I have played Goldilocks trying to find a comfortable solution until the repair guy could get here.

Today was that glorious day! Within an hour, he had diagnosed the problem and had replaced almost all the moving parts and had added springs to the back that had broken earlier. Thank GOD, La-Z-Boy has a lifetime warranty on their framework and moving parts. I did have to pay $140.00 - $80.00 for the house call and $60.00 for the labor. It was well worth the cost as otherwise I was looking at close to $1,000.00 that I don't have to replace the chair or more than that in a monthly rental for a hospital bed that would have taken up most of my living room and wouldn't have been as comfortable. So thank you GOD for this wonderful gift I got today. Now, maybe I can sleep tonight and get my back to stop hurting.

It doesn’t because while the parts are warrantied they charge you $100 for service each time. Also the fabric or leather is not covered even if it is defective because the covering is not made by La-Z-Boy as my in-laws discovered. So the long and short of it is don’t believe their salespeople. The products are NOT warrantied for life. Oh and this is what is in their so called limited LIFETIME Warranty. "La-Z-Boy Contract Furniture’s sole obligation shall be to repair any defective product or product component covered under this warranty, including shipping and labor, during the warranty period." Back in November of 2017 my spouse and I went to buy furniture, it was our first time at any La-Z-Boy store, and we both liked the product we tested on the showroom floor. We sat down with a salesman and placed the order, we were assured that the leather we picked was in stock, and then it would take 45 days to build the furniture and have it shipped to the distribution center in Atlanta. Well 14 days after we placed the order the salesman calls to say that the leather we picked that he assured was in stock was out of stock and that we would need to pick another leather. So the one we picked was an upgrade and it was no additional cost, good thing the cost was already high.

So 45 days go by, we're now at over 60 days since placing the original order, and we get a call that our furniture was ready so a delivery date was set up, the furniture arrives and it was not the one we ordered, it was a different style, leather was all wrong. Basically nothing was right. A call was placed to the store where someone said that the salesman that we placed the order from was off today but that he would send our concern to the district office. Well after several calls the district manager, a guy who identified himself as Daniel said he was going to make it right, and placed the order. This is now that third order for the furniture we wanted. Now we have to wait another 45 days so we're on the calendar for over 100 days since the original order was placed.

So 45 days later the call comes in that the furniture was ready, a date was scheduled and the correct style was delivered, but it didn't have the controls we picked some 145 days ago, so again Daniel was contacted and this time he assured that the order was going to be correct, so now another 45 days and we get a call that it's ready. The date was set and the furniture was delivered. This time it was finally correct, it only took La-Z-Boy over 190 days to get the order correct.

The outcome was correct but something that for the money that was spent on the furniture should have been correct the first time around not 190 days later. I would not recommend La-Z-Boy to anyone, go find the furniture at another store, you will find the same product by the same maker at a lower price, so shame on me for allowing this to go on for so long. This is a buyer beware. And this was my only experience and it will never happen again.

We got the couches and they certainly offer better support. However, they won't recline without using every muscle in your body AND assistance from someone else. We will probably give away these brand new couches and accept our loss of $4,000. Years ago, companies had pride in their products and were concerned about their reputation. In January of last year I purchased a motorized leather recliner from La-Z-Boy on Layton Avenue. The chair was $900 at half price. I also purchased a $140.00 Five year warranty that protected the leather and the “electric motors and mechanisms.” Three weeks ago I pressed the button to raise the leg portion of the chair and heard a terrible grinding noise. The chair jerked to the right with another grinding noise. When I lowered the chair back to a sitting position the grinding continued and I hear a piece of plastic hit the floor. The plastic piece that fell off looked like it covered something. I called La-Z-Boy Comfort Care to ask about my warranty and was told to contact Ultra Shield. They told me to send them a copy of my sales receipt. I had the La-Z-Boy store on Layton Avenue fax the receipt.

On July 31 I got a call back from Ultra Shield telling me my warranty only covered the leather not the motor. It clearly states on the warranty that the motor is covered. I went over to the La-Z-Boy store and they called Ultra Shield who told them the same thing. It seems the receipt had the wrong code listed. After much discussion the Sales Manager at the store said they would confer with Ultra Shield and get back to me. It is now August 4th and I have heard nothing. I am going to take other action like seeing an attorney, contacting the BBB and Social Media as well as Fox Contact 6. I have a legitimate complaint number to customer service but delivery company will NOT honor it. Can you believe this. La-Z-Boy customer service reads from scripts, talks in circles and pushes back every which way. The store manager now involved and today offered $300 credit to pacify us. NO resolve on door damage to our steel door yet. Can’t understand how a company can be this unresponsive to two valid issues!

When it came time for the presentation our sales consultant and designer were beyond courteous and professional, we felt like we were in our own home, not a sales showroom. As I have never been in this particular store, I have unfortunately done business with this company. My husband and I were easy sales about 3 years ago, as everything in our home was white and not a good mix with kids and dogs! We picked out of new floors. Even opted for the better carpet and have never wished we could go back in time more!!! We felt completely misled by our sales rep as nothing went the way he prepared us for. We had multiple installation problems, installers coming late or not a all for repairs and even one installer who showed up and just simply said he didn't want to do the job so he didn't. I will say after several phone calls and appointments we finally got the carpet and vinyl floors we were completely happy with!

BUT, sadly it did not last. About a year half later the gaping of the poorly installed floors got too much for me to bear and an daily used threshold came off. We called and they did send some installers out to fix that and a couple other issues. BUT, sadly that did not last. About a year later the gaping came back and the same threshold was no longer attached. They had someone come out to inspect our complaints and we got approved for a reinstall. We picked our product and agreed on real painted white wood quarter rounds. We thought everything was straight forward.

Early this month the installers came out, on time, and started working. I checked their work pretty closely given my past experiences and one installer even told me I was "difficult to work for" which really kinda floored me (no pun intended) and I kinda stepped back not wanting any of frustrations taken out on his work. After they leave it looked good and the quarter rounds were white but didn't look like painted wood... My suspicion were confirmed when my 3 year found a scrap piece (of quarter round) and asked me what is was... compressed material with basically a white sticker around it!

I called, complained and it took more than one attempt/message to get Charles the customer service manager out of the Baltimore area not to call me back but actually answer his phone. We started communicating and after a couple phone calls we set a date last to fix those quarter rounds. That day comes, I have my schedule cleared, I have my garage set up with a window ac unit running and fan for my dogs, I have activities for my two kids, we wait the time period and beyond and no one comes and no one shows up. I'm upset.

I call into the call center to complain. (Still from that date on I have not heard back from Charles or anyone else out of the Baltimore office that I have left messages with...) Through the call center I set up a new appointment for the next day. Same scenario, I was like, "Alright. I'll keep the same game plan." We were waiting, schedule clear, home activities planned, dog cool spot set up... and NO CAME AND AGAIN NO CANCELLATION CALL! I called the call center again and they said emails will be sent out and should hear from corporate. I never heard from corporate. I call Baltimore again. Haven't heard back... I call the call center again and was promised that everyone involved was included in the email and everyone in the corporate office she and someone should get back to in 24 hours but it was after hours... I am still waiting... I know feel like I have wasted my money and I know I have wasted my VALUABLE TIME!

In Oct 2015, (not even two years old) -- we purchased a Collins Sofa (610491455) at this time, the entire frame is falling out of the bottom of the sofa. It is the worst quality and I am so disappointed in the craftsmanship of this piece. We treat our furniture with the utmost care and when the frame started to squeak, you can feel on the bottom that the frame has come detached from the inside. Then, to call and find out we have to pay almost $200 just to get the sofa looked at -- is absurd! I will be sure to NOT recommend La-Z-Boy to friends, family and even strangers. Pure disappointment that this company sells just poorly made sofas.

Not even a year into this purchase the fabric started bubbling on the part that rises up for the recliner and a armrest. Not even a heavy use area on the chair, just started bubbling up, sort of detaching from the underlying fabric. The bubbles then started to tear since they were not attached to the underlying fabric anymore. Stopped into the same La-Z-Boy store where I purchased the recliner, and go the number for customer service and spoke to them. They were not helpful. Said they only warranty for 1 year. Called Guardian Warranty to see if they would fix the chair, but they can't give me help because it was not accidental damage, it is considered a manufacturing defect. So, now I am stuck with this ugly wound on my chair that La-Z-Boy is not standing behind in any way. Crappy furniture and a negligent company that doesn't stand behind their furniture.

It took the full 6 weeks. I have to wonder. Do these people know what year it is? It says online that about half the charge will be taken at the time of the order and the rest upon delivery. They took the whole price all at once. Their "white glove" delivery people came across as fairly rude. When I finally got the seat I was and am very unhappy with the quality of the build. The cloth is not very smooth. Lots of wrinkles and uneven lines across the top of one of the seats.

When I checked into the return policy after only a few hours of having the seat I find you have only 3 days to make a return with a possible 30 percent restocking fee. There will definitely be a 30 percent restocking fee which is a ridiculous several hundred dollars. You can only return for an exchange on another product, not to get a refund of any of your money. Conclusion... La-Z-Boy is not what it used to be and I will never do business with them again. I would not recommend wasting your money on any of their products.

We ordered a James sectional from the La-Z-Boy store in Waco, TX, because they did not have the color we needed. However, the sectional we received is nothing like the sectional in the store. The seat cushions are hard and my feet like 4 inches touching the floor. In addition, the back of the cushions are not even along the top and the stitching in the cushions do not match up as they do in the floor model. There is also a discrepancy in the right arm reclining love seat with the recliner sitting back one inch farther than the stationary seat, making the back of the recliner sit farther back and the front of the seat cushion and the stitching not match up.

I have been back to the store three times to sit in and compare the floor model with our sectional, and if the sectional we received had been the floor model I would never have purchased it. It is uncomfortable and ugly. We received the sectional on April 7, 2018, and I have been in contact with the store, customer service, and the corporate office numerous times since and have basically been told that all my complaints are either someone else's responsibility or the differences in the appearance are within the parameters of acceptability by La-Z-Boy.

This sectional is a piece of junk and is nothing like the store model or the La-Z-Boy furniture we have purchased over the past 50 years of marriage. A technician has been to our home two times and taken pictures but no one has ever actually been to the store and sat in the floor model or sat in our sectional to compare. A repair was made to the left reclining love seat which was a cut that was hidden on the bottom of the footrest. Michele **, Customer Service Manager, said they repaired that for free even though the cut might have been made by us. It was obvious this was a cut made by the box cutters the delivery men were using to cut the plastic off the shipping material, but it was hidden from view until the footrest was raised. Regardless, La-Z-Boy did not repair this for free because we purchased the extended warranty which was supposed to cover things such as that.

The bottom line is we ordered a sectional from La-Z-Boy, whom we have known from past purchases to make quality furniture, and we received something that does not compare to their floor model. We are deeply disappointed in the quality and appearance of this sectional and embarrassed to have it in our home for others to sit in. Equally disappointed in the way we have been treated by La-Z-Boy's supposed customer service. You can be sure we will never purchase anything from La-Z-Boy again and are doing our best to let others know that La-Z-Boy is no longer the La-Z-Boy of the past and cannot be trusted to deliver quality, attractive furniture and care nothing about their customer's satisfaction.

Less than 3 years ago, my wife and I spent around $5500 at the local La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery, for 2 chairs and 2 sofas. We noticed a leg on one of the chairs starting to lean in several months ago, and finally, the chair side gave out. The fault is in the wood frame of the chair itself. The entire bottom piece of the chair frame is busted. Upon calling La-Z-Boy, we were informed it was covered under their lifetime warranty.

However, we would have to pay for a service tech to come to our house to effect repair to the tune of $110... for just the first hour. If he would have to stay longer, we would have to pay for that too. I’m pretty sure a major failure of this chair like we have experienced is not fixable in a hour. So, I ask what good is their so-called lifetime warranty... I’m still paying for it to be fixed! A $400 plus chair, that lasted less than 3 years... Then I am expected to pay another $110 per hour on that same chair... That is one expensive chair! The warranty is a joke; a very sad and dishonest joke. Proceed with caution if you are thinking you are covered under a warranty that means anything.

My wife and I went into the North Olmsted La-Z-Boy, where we picked out a recliner for about $600. When we were checking out, we were told that there was a $50 delivery charge, since it had to come from their warehouse in Columbus and I would be able pick it up from the store as that charge did not include a home delivery. We agreed to pay the delivery charge and the saleswoman that helped us was extremely nice.

I picked it up about a week later and brought it home to realize that the chair was defective. It was smaller than the one we looked at in the store and the cushioning was different. My wife called La-Z-Boy and they said that sometimes it can take up to 15 days for the chair to settle in, however their return policy is only valid for 3 days. We brought the chair in the next day and the salesman agreed that it was a different size than the original chair we had picked out and compared the 2 side by side to confirm that they were different.

The seams were in different spots and the chair we brought back had different cushions. We were given the option to either return it or swap it out for another chair, so I ended up finding a chair that was more expensive than the original. While checking out for the second time, we were told that there was another $50 delivery charge even though we had already paid a delivery fee on the first chair. We asked why we would be paying money for a chair that we are not taking home with us and the salesman called the manager on duty to come speak with us.

The manager on duty came over and offered to help with the exchange on the new chair and commented on the fact that because it was a neutral color and a standard chair that they would have no problem selling it once they put it on the floor. He was looking at the financing for the first chair and told us that he can’t waive the delivery fee but the original salesperson had undercharged us anyways, as if there was no reason as to why we would be complaining about $50. We did the math and figured out that he was incorrect, but he continued to say that there was nothing that they could do.

Out of curiosity, I asked if the person who actually buys the chair would get it for $50 dollars less, and the manager LAUGHED and said that they were going to charge them $100 because it was already in the store. I was thrown off by his demeanor considering he just told me that basically, they were going to not only rip me off, but also rip off the person who actually buys the chair for even more money. I decided to not purchase the second chair and the manager on duty told me that the store manager would call me the next day @ 10 AM to see if there’s anything they can do.

The next day, I received no phone call from the store manager so I decided to call at 12 PM and was told that the manager was busy and that he’d call me back. Three o’clock rolled around and I still had no return call, so I called them back again. He offered to swap out the delivery fees, but after listening to the manager on duty laugh about how they are overcharging people for this chair and the lack of professionalism that I had this entire experience, I decided to not want to buy another chair from them. I told him that I’d rather just have my money back and let him know that I had purchased furniture from them before and most likely will again, I just wasn’t interested in buying from them at the time. He proceeded to tell me that if that was my choice, there was nothing he can do with the fee as that is their policy.

I called La-Z-Boy’s corporate office to explain the story and see if anything could be done and the woman I spoke with was not helpful in the least bit. She showed no concern to what I was saying, not even regarding how the worker or the manager was laughing about charging people more money. She simply said that it was their policy and when I asked if she meant that they were able to charge multiple delivery fees for one chair, she said yes. She stated that the stores make those decisions and corporate stands behind the store’s decisions, even though the store told me that it was corporate’s policy.

We were refunded our money for the chair, but we still haven’t received the delivery fee back. I have called their corporate office, sent an e-mail to them, and responded to their customer service survey that they sent me and have yet to get a call about this bad experience. At this point, it’s not about the $50 dollars, it’s the fact that La-Z-Boy is allowed to withhold fees at their discretion but they can also charge people additional money with no explanation as to why. We are shocked that La-Z-Boy would condone this type of service, especially towards a returning customer.

Well today I received a call from the Sofa factory management informing me that Lazyboy would like to give me an option to get new chairs again or get a refund which normally they do not do. Yes, I requested the refund. It took me sending an email to the CEO of Lazyboy to get the response I was looking for. I hope Lazyboy uses this experience to have better quality control checks before their products are sent out to the consumer.

    Original Review: June 12, 2018

I purchased 2 chairs from one of the La-Z-Boy galleries in early 2017. The first time was online. When delivered one of the chairs were smaller than the other and I also had paid for chrome handles and they were missing on both chairs and one was shaped funny. I called the company and reported my distress and they informed me there were no refund returns so I would have to come into the gallery and choose new chairs. I went to the gallery and choose 2 new chairs while keeping the 2 I had already purchased. When the chairs arrived one of the chairs had a hole in the stitching and the leather was all twisted and unprofessional which tell me there was no quality check on the build of the chairs. One of the chairs was off the track so when you sat in the chair it wasn't stable. So they suggested I get new chairs since I had paid all that money and the parts they would use to replace the broken would be used.

Lastly I ordered another set of chairs and yes, they were a problem also. I paid for memory foam which was a hundred dollars extra on each chair, and when delivered I found out that one of the chairs did not have memory foam in it and the one that did the chair looked horrible in less than a month, the memory foam had lost its memory. So they came out and ordered new chair parts with a request from me to leave the memory foam out as they had done in the other chair. I waited another month and a half for the part to come in. When the tech arrived the part was not ordered as requested with no memory foam. So now I'm still waiting. It's been over a year dealing with La-Z-Boy to get this right and I'm still waiting.

Now I will give the gallery credit because they did refund my $100 for the chair that was missing the memory foam but that does not excuse the poor service that La-Z-Boy has done in building my recliners and to be truthful I wish I had never ordered any chairs from La-Z-Boy nor would I recommend them to anyone. So hopefully they will get it right cause we are already in the middle of 2018 and I still don't have what I paid over $3000 for a set of recliners.

Purchased a new La-Z-Boy Lancer reclining sofa on 5/7/17. After about 6 months, the one recliner was not plush with the rest of the sofa, and has continued to get worse. Now, the armrest is basically broken and wobbly. Upon examining, found that they use particle board instead of real wood for the frame. One of the bolts had fallen out on the floor. Called Furniture Mart about it, and was told that since it's been over a year since purchase, that I would have to pay for parts and labor. I already spent $1200 for the sofa, why should I pay more? Steer clear of La-Z-Boy furniture and Furniture Mart!

I loved the overstuffed arms on other recliners (my mom's, my aunt's, my spare). They all had normal armrests. Even boasted about extra stuffing. But we're very uncomfortable. I like to stretch out sideways even and the armrests would begin to poke you. Just irritating. They felt hard and encumbering. Reclining would start to feel the same like something was pressing hard against your leg. But my recliner had the best movement. Just slides right with you. You could lean sideways legs over one arm and even after 15 years of use... no holes. Just worn spots. But still the best piece of furniture I own. So comfy, I'd rather sleep on it than my bed!

Buying from La-Z-Boy stores is a nightmare. We bought a sofa and love seat from them that had memory foam. After a year the seam started to split was not covered under warranty. Found out that after we bought it that several months later they stopped using memory foam because they had problems with it. Every time I call I am told they will call back but never do. I went to the store and the manager helped get customer service on the line telling her my claim was denied because they do not cover seems splitting. You pay good money for furniture and get the extra fabric protection and they do not care. Will not call you back say they set up an appointment but no one come. You have to keep calling and calling to see if you could get service. They don’t care about the customer or the product they sell. I am very frustrated with this whole processes.

Updated 07/09/2018: I have been in touch with La-Z-Boy because I was told by the store that there are problems with the memory foam. I did a great mistake and purchased the insurance from them. This insurance does not cover anything. They say it is from normal wear that all the seams are coming apart, and the fabric is stretching so the fabric looks loose on arms. They have offered to give me a discount to fix it with new parts. I do not understand that if there is nothing wrong why would they offer me this with discounts? I think La-Z-Boy is really not standing behind their product. I have had several recliners that are more than a year and a half old that look twice as good as this couch and loveseat. So my advice is do not waste your money on the insurance since they will tell you it is normal wear even if there is a picture.

We immediately told the people that delivered so that they could exchanged. They said, "No problem, just called the customer service so that we can come and exchanged." We thought that this was going to be simple, no it was the opposite.

When we called they said that they needed to send a technician to check the piece of furniture. When he came, he said that it was wear and tear normal for the piece, but this was a new piece bought and deliver with the defect. The guy did not care said to call service again. All of this paying and 5 year warranty that did not do us any good. We continue calling and them sending technicians until the warranty was over. We went several times to the store, but Rick "no last name" the manager said to us the last time that the store responsibility ends in selling us the furniture. I would not recommend them at all. My La-Z-Boy rocker recliner was too expensive as it turned out due to the thing falling apart after just a couple of years. The wooden frame broke. The chair also swiveled which also broke. The round base composed of some sort of fiber board allowed the attachment bolts to bore right through and detached completely. Then all the while the tanning wore off exposing the patch work and then the leather began to rip apart in several places. I asked the local La-Z-Boy store for help on fixing some of these things early on. I was told that I’d have to bring the chair in. Being disabled this wasn’t possible. So I just used the chair up until it wouldn’t even recline. The only local La-Z-Boy store closed its doors and there was no recourse. I will never purchase anything from these guys in the future.
