We purchased a Rowan Rocking Recliner from Dave. The chair we received feels nothing like the in-store model (which my husband loved). The upper back portion of the recliner sticks out so far that my husband cannot bear to even sit in it. Since it was a special order, we cannot return it. We spent $700 on the chair, and that was a sale price. Had we bought a chair from the numerous color options from Wayfair, we would’ve been able to return it. Instead, we trusted this local company to provide us a recliner we loved, only to be out of $700. The recliner sits in our living room, and no one has sat in it. I keep trying to sell it locally. I guess we could always donate it or place it on the curb. I will never step foot in that store again. We chose to pick the chair up, and they did not even have it wrapped in plastic to protect it from damage.

Hopefully, the 3rd time is the charm. Cushions failed in the sleeper sofa, and still under warranty. They shipped replacement cushions and I paid for the labor for 2 hours ($124/hr) to install. First, appt was a call, but the tech did not show up, LB refunded 1 of the 2 hours for the inconvenience. The second appointment was a no call and no show, they refunded the 2nd hour of labor $124 for the inconvenience. Fourth time the charm?

We purchased a recliner love seat and recliner sofa from La-Z-Boy 6 years ago. Within a year and a half the fabric was worn out and looked 25 years old!! We had all warranty available on these two items but still had issues dealing with la-z-boy regarding repairs or exchange possibilities. Eventually we were offered an exchange of both items, which we accepted. After two years of use the new recliner love seat and recliner sofa foam was totally worn out! We proceeded to deal with warranty people once again. After numerous calls we were finally told a knowledgeable person would come to inspect our furniture. Five months later a contract upholsterer inspected our furniture and confirmed the foam was totally inadequate and he would send his report to warranty department but doubted anything would be done regarding our complaint. There has never been any follow up from the warranty department to date.

The sofa and love seat became so uncomfortable we decided to have the foam replaced by a local upholsterer at a cost of $1600.00. We have had conversations with relatives and friends who also have you products and they have the same experience. As our upholsterer has said, why would they build a good solid frame and then put cheap inadequate foam in it and then charge so much money. Our experience with la-z-boy has been nothing but a disappointment to say the least. We will never purchase La-Z-Boy products again and will discourage anyone else from doing so as well. We would give La-Z-Boy a rating of .5 out of 5. Disgruntled customers Mark & Christine.

We purchased a very expensive powered dual recliner less than a year ago. One side of the chair, the padding is totally collapsed on the arm and the lower back panel. The tech came out and looked at it and has determined that it is normal wear and tear. Really! 1 year old and the recliner is worn out! When you sit in the chair it pushes you in to the corner and is very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable I don't even sit in it anymore! Now I have a very expensive recliner that I cant sit in. And La-Z-Boy will do nothing about it! Don't buy from them. You might as well buy a cheap recliner because it will probably last Longer! I'll never buy again from them and I don't recommend that you do either! Very Poor Quality!!

We are very disappointed in our leather sofa. It developed a tear where the recliner moves out and back in. Heavy seaming has caused the area to rub together thus causing the tear. Since the sofa was purchased 5 years ago in December 2014 it is now past warranty! Both repairs are now in our hands to pay for service.

The one motor went out in our 2 year old leather La-Z-Boy recliner. It took over a week to get a technician here to evaluate problem. Parts were to arrive in 5 to 7 days. On day 7, Jan 21, I called. They had no idea when parts would get here. (Amazon can deliver in 2 days. Why can't you?) At 9 days, Jan 23, I called again and discovered that our parts were REORDERED after my call on the 21st!!!! How long would our claim have been in limbo if I hadn't called?!! I asked to schedule a technician for a day or two after the expected arrival of the parts but they wouldn't do it. I must wait for the parts.

Parts came on Jan 24. Earliest appointment I could get for technician was Jan 30... another week of waiting. In the meantime, my husband, who uses that chair every day, hasn't been able to use it. It is not a good situation! He's been with out his chair 3 weeks and has another week to wait! This has been the WORST customer service I've ever experienced! And no effort is made to expedite anything!!! Your product is good but I'd never buy La-Z-Boy again because customer care doesn't exist at La-Z-Boy.

We purchased a dining room table, chairs, china hutch, and breakfront for our new home. This is the first time we've ordered from La-Z-Boy and will be the last. Not only was the sales associate providing us with misinformation about the services, products, and delivery, but the entire delivery process has been a disaster. When we placed the order, two of the eight chairs were mysteriously on backorder. Just twenty-four hours prior, they were available. The sales associate indicated a delivery date to me, but after the order was placed she explained how the items had to be shipped from NC to the Columbus, OH warehouse. Only once they arrived in Columbus, could the actual delivery date be confirmed. Eventually, we were able to confirm delivery for December 23rd, and we expected all but the two chairs to be delivered.

On December 23rd, the items arrived. Your delivery crew assembled the furniture ONLY to tell us the table didn't come with all of the parts and isn't stable. Therefore, it isn't safe to use. Additionally, one of the chairs arrived broken. So we were told Comfort Care would come out to "fix" the table and we would have to order a new chair. Comfort Care swears they don't have access to your computer system to know what "items" needed to be ordered. They called us, wanting to know what parts to order for their technician to come "repair" the table. Clearly, Comfort Care and La-Z-Boy do not communicate with one another. I told them we had no clue, so they just ordered "all" the parts needed to assemble the table. When they arrived, we were told to call and schedule an appt to have the technician from Comfort Care to come out and "fix" the issue.

The parts arrived and we called Comfort Care. We had an appointment on January 18th from 11am-2pm. At 10:55am I received a call stating our appt was canceled due to weather (it was raining). I called to reschedule and they told me the soonest available was Monday (January 20th). I explained that we were out of town Monday and the next available date was mid-February. I said we needed it sooner, as we still cannot use our dining table. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was nothing else they could do and they hung up on me.

I finally spoke to a manager at La-Z-Boy, who called Comfort Care on our behalf, and we were able to get an appointment for today (January 24th). The technician (Aaron - who was extremely nice by the way), came out this morning. He informed me they rarely work with tables, and primarily service chairs and sofas. However, you can see that table has been assembled incorrectly and is unsafe - the support beam is only held in place by two small wooden pegs on either side. The bold they put on one side isn't even threaded and is completely loose, but they placed the cap over the area so we cannot even remove it without damaging the table.

He has never seen a set up like this and has no idea how to "fix" the issue. No instructions were sent with the parts, and it will be a two person job. So he has left and we continue to have an unsafe dining table that is not usable with no ETA for when this will be corrected. The entire table will need to be disassembled and they will have to try and figure out how to reassemble - again, causing damage to a brand new table, requiring wood touchup at that time. He is going to request "instructions" for the table assembly and we will have to wait and see when we can get another appointment. A senior technician he reached out to (and sent photos to), has never seen this set up as well. So essentially no one knows how to safely assemble a product you are selling and they are repairing.

In addition, I will spend my entire afternoon waiting for the delivery of the three remaining chairs, because of course we cannot have a consolidated window for your customers to avoid wasting their entire day waiting around for deliveries or service technicians. This is the absolute worst experience ever. No one seems to take accountability for your products or the service. I've called the store where we purchased the items (La-Z-Boy Toledo on Airport Hwy), but we literally get the run around each and every time. Laura has refunded us $500 but you have no idea what an inconvenience this has become and how much it has affected our work schedules, to be home for all these appts.

Additionally, given the price we paid for this dining room set, you would have expected they know how to put it together and we could have a working dining room by now. You should be ashamed of yourselves and the products you are selling to clients, only to provide horribly service on all fronts. I reached out to corporate on your website requesting someone contact me, and never heard back. I guess this just speaks to the focus of your organization and how little you care about follow through and the reputation of your products.

I went to the La-Z-Boy gallery and purchase an in stock at the warehouse recliner. It arrived that weekend and was not what I expected as my feet were dangling when I sat in it. (I'm 6 foot 3 inches tall). And it would immediately put me backwards into the full rocking position (I thought week springs as my other La-Z-Boy did not do this). The store chair did not have this feel when I tried it out. I went immediately to the store and asked them about it. They said that they would charge me 30% restocking fee to return it. They also said I could avoid the restocking fee if I have the service department attempt to repair the issue. I said how do I go about that? She gave me the phone number 1-855-395-2926 to start the repair process.

They came out two and half weeks later to only LOOK at it and not do any repairs. The tech said it needed a new shorter base and would order it. It should be in by two-three weeks. I had to call La-Z-Boy two weeks into this time to find out what was going on. They (Mark) tells me it was built to design. I said the one in the store did not feel this way. He indicated he would only be able to offer the refund with minus 30% as it was not a repair situation. I said I was told by the tech that it WAS repairable with a shorter base and better springs. He never indicated that the chair would not be able to be fixed without the shorter base.

The representative said they will contact me in with call within 5-7 days on their decision. I said to him (Mark) that the 30% fee to return it is unacceptable as I was told by the sales rep that if you could not fix it to my satisfaction that the full price would be refunded. He said he did not think that will be the case as it was built to design. I said you must have a different design in the store. And now I wait 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS for them to tell me too bad, you want to return it will cost you 30% restocking. All I have to say I will NEVER BUY FROM LA-Z-BOY AGAIN!!!!

The Ultra Shield warranty that LAZBOY sells with their products is worthless. It is completely worthless because when you call them with a problem they will find a reason why your specific situation is not covered by their policy. I bought a reclining couch from LAZBOY with a 5-year Ultra Shield warrantee. When I was purchasing this couch at LAZBOY showroom, the salesperson assured me that my warranty policy would cover every conceivable case. After four years, the leather became worn off in several spots and one of the recliners was not setting into a proper closing position. When I first discovered this problem, I did not call the Ultra Shield warranty right away because I could not find a day during a work week when I or my wife could be home to host their service person.

Finally, a time came when my wife would be home for several weeks. When I called the Ultra Shield warranty, their representative asked when I first notice the defects I was describing. I mentioned that it was several months ago. My claim was rejected because, according to their policy, I was supposed to file the claim within first thirty days. I could not understand why the duration of time would disqualify my claim, but it did. Several years ago we called The Ultra Shield warranty with a different problem having to do with stains on the back of the couch. Similarly, the Ultra Shield warranty department found a way to disqualify our claim.

Bennett Duo reclining sofa and loveseat

    1. Like: Quality craftsmanship and material. (D144833 Elliot-Pumice)
    2. Like: Because they look like regular sofas. Surprise! It reclines.
    3. Like: Cigar rolled edges.
    4. Like: Because you can stop the footrest in any position and it stays. Unlike the manual type, where it’s fully extended or fully collapsed.
    5. Like: The hard pad on the extended footrest between the swiveling soft footpad and the sofa cushion.
    6. Like: It’s not big and puffy like most reclining sofas.
    7. Like: To fall asleep on it (while watching TV, or maybe a nap) without it feeling all lumpy And uncomfortable. (Firm uniform cushions)
    8. Like: It is a wall hugger which means you can place it squarely against the wall.
    9. Like: The 5 footings on this which are visible and make it look like a normal sofa. Putting sliders under the feet make it very easy to move around on carpet.
    10. Like: The USB ports on the sides and the small buttons to retract/recline the footrests.
    11. Like: The powerful smell of the new sofa.
    12. Like: The tough material we picked out.
    13. Like: It only took 33 days to get instead of the estimated 42-56 days.

    14. Like: How you can straddle the footrest (because it’s narrow) and get up and out from the sitting position and go do whatever you got to do and come back and straddle the footrest and sit back down. All without having to extend or retract the footrest.

    Don’t Mind
    1. That it is not a sleeper recliner meaning it doesn’t recline far back (wall hugger)
    2. How slow the footrest extend and retract. (That is standard for power recliners)
    3. Cushions are not removable/washable.

    4. Don’t mind how the footrest pads swivel back and forth. (Kind of annoying) But I understand it's part of the design of the sofa to make it look like a regular sofa. You have to give up something to get something.

    Don’t Like

    1. After having the sofas 15 days the love seat motor on one side literally broke. After another 31 days it was replace at my house free.

    Conclusion

Great furniture. Very comfortable. Quality craftsmanship. Would buy again definitely.

My husband and I decided to spend the extra money on La-Z-Boy furniture so that we would not have to purchase any new couches or chairs for the forseeable future. The salesperson informed us that La-Z-Boy furniture is great because the warranty is designed for people with dogs and children. She said that it covers everything and they would fix anything without worry. We were grossly mislead by this statement and paid a large amount of money for our new living room furniture.

When my son developed a stomach virus less than a year after our purchase, he got sick while laying on the couch and soiled the covering. We cleaned it the best we could with the cleaner we were given. After that didn't work, I called the warranty company to have it taken care of. I was informed that they don't cover stains or odors. So after all that money to cover "everything" as we were informed, they refused to do anything.

I contacted La-Z-Boy and they offered to "discount" parts to be replaced if necessary but we would need to have it professionally cleaned prior to anyone from the company looking at it. Professional cleaning is approximately $150 and they estimated over $400 to replace some of the parts if the odor didn't come out. So instead of the warranty covering our expenses, they offered to charge us more money.

La-Z-Boy is a sham of a company that is only interested in making sales--not fixing issues. Rather than stand behind what their salesperson had told us about covering an issues that arise, they offered "help" by offering to charge us hundreds of dollars. We should be refunded every single penny of the money that we were charged for a warranty that is useless.

Had I known that the warranty doesn't actually cover things like stains and odors, I would have purchased through a different company. We spent thousands of dollars on furniture that we have to pray is not soiled in any way because the warranty won't cover it. I plan to never shop at this establishment and make sure that all friends and family who are interested in this company are deterred by their shady business practices.

We were told there was $150 to deliver to our home or $40 to delivery to the store. We chose to have it delivered to the store. We called on the delivery date we were given by the "manager" and were told the chairs were ready BUT they would NOT be shipped until they were paid in full. We were never called and told that the chairs were ready but needed to be paid for. This delayed the delivery by 2 more weeks. We were NEVER told that "delivery to the store" was La-Z-Boys definition of delivery. Delivery means when the customer takes possession, not when the La-Z-Boy store!

My furniture is less than 2 yrs. old. As you can see from the picture below, there is evidence of wear that I don't feel should be visible after 1.5 yrs. I was told the wrinkles on the front cushion was from scooting back and forth. I do not do that! Then I was told by Cust Care that my chair is soiled and needs to be professional cleaned. I'm the only on that sits in the chair. The sofa does not have these issues. And the areas below the arm rests that I never touch are definitely a different color than the chair. The gathered ends of the arm rests look like that as I was told that's from putting my hands there to push myself up out of the chair. And you can even see where my butt sits. I'm totally dissatisfied with this piece and after spending over $3000 would expect more customer service from La-Z-Boy. If nothing is done, it will be my last purchase from this company.

The first couple chairs lasted 3-5 years or so. There seems to be a lot of breakable plastic parts. The repair time is also horrid as they are only serviced by another company and ONLY on Wednesdays. We purchased new furniture in November 2017. Within 6 months the integrity of the cushions and armrests had lost the initial comfort and firmness. When we had purchased the reclining love seat and reclining couch we asked many questions about the warranty on the product. We have pets and they recommended that we purchase the extended warranty, so we did. Our fault to not have contacted the company immediately, but when we did go to La-Z-Boy in June (19 months after purchase) we were told it was too late to claim through them and that we had to use our extended warranty. They showed us the number to call. I called them and was told that it probably wouldn’t be covered, but that they would send an employee out in the next two months.

Late in August the technician came and told us that it would most likely not be covered but he would submit a claim, we finally heard back from them in November stating that it would not be covered. So here we are with a crappy product that we paid over $4000 on. What used to be a decent product and company, with a great reputation, has deteriorated to nothing special and not worth the money.

My mom needed constant care. She needed a power lift chair. I thought LaZBoy must have the best power chairs. But we don't have a LaZBoy store where I live. So I ordered online believing LaZBoy to be an upstanding company that cares about their customers and would stand behind what they sell. We ordered the lowest priced lift chair, it was well over $1000 but surely because it is a LaZBoy it would be a quality chair. Well we were wrong about LaZBoy on both counts. While the chair functionally worked, it created pressure points on my mom's body where pressure discolorations & pain would form within two hours of sitting in the chair.

We called laZBoy as soon as was practical given my mom's condition and other more life threatening priorities needed to be handled first. Found out that I only had 10 days to return or exchange the chair for another one, even though it was a stock chair and NOT a custom one. If I buy a laZBoy anywhere else I have much longer to return/exchange especially this time of year - given Christmas giving and such. LaZBoy listened to my sad story but would do nothing to help. I'm junking & buying a cheaper better chair elsewhere. LaZBoy Products and Customer Service are worthless. They do not care about an elderly woman that is in pain because of using their chairs.

I purchased a (fairly expensive) leather recliner from La-Z-Boy. The two arm seams completely separated. Because it was outside the 1-year warranty, La-Z-Boy will not support any repair of a clear product failure - which they acknowledge. While they brag about a lifetime warranty on the recliner mechanism, since the upper falls apart in a few years time, that piece of the warranty is pretty useless. Customer Service was completely inept and offered no aid in addressing their product failure other than to say, "I understand and I'm sorry," about 100 times. If you'd like your furniture to last more than a few years, I recommend purchasing something other than a La-Z-Boy product.

Within the 2nd year there was a hole in what we now know as very thin fabric on the sofa, so we called La-Z-Boy who called the warranty people. The warranty people said it wasn't covered because the fabric is no longer available?! We contacted La-z-Boy many times and got the runaround. Then in the 3rd year the mechanism in one of the recliners broke. La-z-Boy nor the warranty company would repair it. In the 4th year another recliner mechanism broke which we didn't even bother to contact La-z-Boy on that one. Supposedly the mechanism was warrantied for 5 years but they wouldn't honor it because they used the excuse it was abused but they never came out to look at to see if it was abused.

The fabric continued to wear out and we had to dump the both items. Our last sofa lasted 20 years with kids. This one lasted 2 years (before problems started) without kids! I ended up repairing the mechanisms several times myself. This mechanism used a lot of plastic parts that failed, and I had to custom make some stuff to make it work for a while; the fabric was just pure crap; and the stuffing inside both wore out and became non supportive, just more junk from La-z-Boy. Our daughter took the rest of the furniture but was not impressed that her brother had beat her to the punch asking for the recliner. The only reason they gave it up was because they moved from London, Ontario to Victoria, BC. They didn't take any of their furniture.

A friend of theirs asked for the recliner. So as far as we know, it is still in use. We bought it 13 years ago. It was used every day (unless we were away) by my husband and myself. We only had to have it repaired once. The service was excellent. All that was required was a new spring for the reclining mechanism. This is the second time we have bought furniture from La-Z-Boy and both times I have become very dissatisfied with their merchandise. There will never be a third. The first set of upholstered living room furniture lasted a few years before one of the support springs snapped under the seat of one of the recliners. The "Lifetime Warranty" turned out to be a joke. They would only send a replacement for the broken spring, which was impossible for us to fix ourselves. They told me if I wanted their repair department to replace the spring, I would have to pay a minimum of $100 for labor. If they had to pick up the recliner from our home (it is VERY heavy), it would, of course, cost more for pick-up and delivery charges. We got rid of the furniture and foolishly went back to La-Z-Boy to look at replacement living room furniture.

We bought two "glider" swivel recliners which turned out to be ROCKER recliners. After a few months, one of the recliners started to make loud cracking and popping sounds whenever someone sat down and also a very loud squeaking sound when you rock in the chair. Shortly after that the second chair started to do the same. I have to turn these very heavy chairs over to try to lubricate the springs and hinges and this only works for a few weeks and then I have to do it all over again. Their "warranty" doesn't cover the costs for La-Z-Boy to pick up, fix, and deliver these two pieces of junk. I would never recommend buying upholstered furniture from this company as it is obvious they are cheaply made.

I chose a more womanly styled chair and optional fabric. The salesman was very friendly and suggested different options for us to chose... We even got a follow-up card thanking us for our purchase. The chair was so comfortable (we divorced and my chair was given to my daughter). I am seriously considering getting one again.

I've always loved La-Z-Boy. I purchased the new duo power Bennett recliner chair less than a year ago. I loved the entire chair except for the hard seat. I can sit in it for about an hour until the seat feels like sitting on a board. I emailed the sales person that sold it to me. She told me to respond for any problems I had. I bought it at La-Z-Boy Showcase store in Portage, Mi. I had no response to my emails and when I called the store, she was never there. I don't know what they could do with the seat anyway. The rest of the chair is fabulous. Buyer beware, you are not getting a piece of furniture with an uncomfortable seat. When you try a piece of furniture in a store, of course it feels great. Most do. La-Z-Boy sure upped their game with this area saving furniture. Not every home will accommodate a full reclining piece of furniture. Barb ** Marshall, Mi.

We are at the point that if we do not get a guarantee of delivery before that date or a loaner, we will refuse it and pursue legal action for a refund. We are now on the unenviable position of locating a replacement with less than 8 days to go. Staff at the store just keep telling us to "call back in a couple of days" every time we call. Truly regret this due to the stress it is adding.

Purchased two large Nordic recliners in premium leather about 5 months ago. Very possibly the chairs are well constructed and we don't yet have any problems with the leather. But the seats are so hard our backs and bums start aching after using them for short periods of time. We waited before complaining in the hope the seats would soften over time, but still as rock hard as day one. We've needed to resort to overlaying additional layers of padding. Another disappointing thing is the adjustable headrests don't stay where we put them, just spring back to original position.

I'd love to change the chairs over for more comfortable models but I doubt this is an idea Lazboy would even consider. Even though the word 'comfort' is used a lot in the advertising, it was never actually promised or mentioned anywhere on the warranty - so pretty confident there's nothing we can do. We really thought that for over $4,000 we'd get a product which was as advertised - but sadly no comfort yet.

I purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner from Barbo’s Furniture and almost immediately, it started to creek. I called the store and they sent out a rep who tightened the undercarriage but the creaking continued. The chair was then taken to the store’s shop. I don’t know what they did, but the creeping continued and got worse. I called the store again and was told there was nothing they could and that the chair was normal.

I then contacted the manufacturer who contacted the store and then told me nothing was wrong with the chair. After a number of emails with La-Z-Boy getting nowhere, I gave up and the chair continues to creek, in my opinion, quite severely. I never had creeping with my previous recliner which was a different brand. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with La-Z-Boy that I thought was the top of the line.

Purchased a leather recliner on 8/31 at La-Z-Boy Elston Ave Chicago. When chair delivered, husband signed delivery form. I noticed a few defects and within a few min of delivery men leaving, I contacted customer service to have them take the chair back. The exact words were they could not be reached and therefore they would send a tech out to inspect chair. The chair was not to my satisfaction, not tailored correctly. Leather was bunching on the arms and a seam was not properly stitched. An appointment was made for a tech to come out and inspect chair. He ordered another arm. On 11/16 repairman came out to repair chair, arm was in poor quality, he took pictures and left, he even said it was a waste of time.

I called customer service, informed them of the situation immediately and was to receive a call from La-Z-Boy by Wednesday, 11/20 after they reviewed the repairman's notes and photos. No call returned. Today on 11/26, I spoke with a Roxanne Supervisor, I told her of my dissatisfaction in product and the lack of response to resolve my complaint. My previous mentioned request, because I did not want my time wasted anymore was to refund my money, replace my chair with the same, or discount me for the product because it was not worth $1103.24. Having to schedule 3 dates to correct the issue delivery/tech/repair (3 different dates), I did not believe I should have to take anymore steps and feel I have not been properly assisted today.

The chair was not 100% quality for the amount I paid and I expected customer satisfaction. Roxanne did not care that I was dissatisfied and claimed that I could not get a refund, that I could only get a store credit if I wanted to purchase a different style chair. I told her then I wanted the same chair reordered but what recourse would I have if I was dissatisfied if the same issues existed. When I informed her that I am perturbed of the entire situation and do not feel it is right to waste my time anymore, she showed no concern. She left me so angry with her inability to work with me, that I hung up the phone.

At time of purchase, my husband and I were never informed as to how leather varies with seams, nor informed that once the delivery form is signed that it will start a warranty process and not a refund. I am very surprised that the chair was not inspected for quality before it was set for delivery. I have photos of the chair in the showroom which shows a leather recliner with no seams, leather not bunching and it is of better quality than my purchase. I have contacted my credit card company who will now help me dispute my purchase with La-Z-Boy. As well, I plan to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I expected customer satisfaction and received no resolution. This experience has me doubting La-Z-Boy Furniture as a reputable company.

However, about 3 months ago we noted that one of the pieces of the sectional, the faux leather was defective and flaking and peeling. We were informed by the store personnel that we would need to contact their Service Department.

After approximately a month of phone calls and photos, La-Z-Boy offered us a full in-store credit for the entire unit we had purchased. We happened to be in La-Z-Boy during the Columbus Day sale...the same Devon unit was on sale in a tweed fabric for almost the exact price as our in-store credit. To create the same unit we had before, we would have to purchase the Devon Corner Unit and pay delivery fees, which we were willing to do. ** and other staff members at the 3055 W Chandler Blvd Location in Chandler, AZ, went out of their way to adjust the invoice so that we walked out of the store with a new Devon Sectional covered completely by the the in-store credit and the delivery fee was dropped. We purchased all of the furniture for our bedroom (bed frame, foot board, dresser, mirror, 2 night stands, chest, area rug), our great room (sofa, 2 chairs, four cubes, custom made pillows) and 3 bar stools for our kitchen in December of 2018. We had the items delivered in mid April when we made settlement on our new house. The bar stools were not done at the time and we needed to wait another 6 weeks for them to be completed and delivered. During the 7 months since we had the furniture delivered, we have spent very little time in that house since we have another one that we are getting ready to sell. The last time I was there I noticed the area rug in the bedroom is falling apart and has a few areas there is nothing left at all except the base that was used to make the rug. All of the fabric used to make the carpet is gone.

I went back to the store we purchased the items from in Pooler, GA. Apparently, we had a warranty on the rugs so I had to file a claim with the warranty company. The company that manufactured the carpeting has refused to honor the warranty since the vacuum I have has a beater bar. I had never heard that term previously and had no idea what it was. I did some research and found out that very few vacuums are made with beater bars any more. I really think the damages occurred some other way. It happens to be where I walk and I am the only one that is generally in that house but I vacuum the whole rug when I vacuum. My vacuum is also new and was purchased when we moved into this house. Surya was the manufacturer of the rug. They will not stand behind the warranty and they said the warranty only covers stains and things like that.

La-Z-Boy also will not stand behind the item they sold. The rug was picked out by the designer we were working with, Gabbi **. We only saw pictures of it prior to it being delivered. Never were we told the rug was fragile and we needed to be careful with it. If we had been told, we certainly would not have purchased it! We now own a $2,000 rug that is totally worthless 6 months after we purchased it and no one will stand behind this product. Not Surya and not La-Z-Boy. We spent over $26,000 on the furniture for our new house and to be treated like we are being treated is not acceptable! Never again will I ever buy anything from La-Z-Boy!

We purchased a Pembroke Sofa and Leather recliner in July 2019, from the Tukwila store, in Washington. They were delivered in August. We have had our sofa for a little over 3 months. We paid $3,000 for both pieces and paid for the Guardian EW Fabric Protection plan. The couch has extensive pilling. The seat cushions slide forward all the time, and the back cushions which are attached lose shape and need constant fluffing and the stuffing insert has ripped. I called the 1-800 number for the fabric protection plan because I spilled a cup of coffee on the couch and wanted to see what they could do about the spill and pilling.

The person I spoke to from Guardian was professional and told me the pilling was not normal and I should contact La-Z-Boy directly and ask about the manufactures warranty. I sent the pictures to Guardian so they could start the claim. I then followed up with La-Z-Boy regarding the Warranty. I sent an email to La-Z-Boy in Seattle. I explained the issues with the sofa as stated above and sent pictures of the pilling and the ripped stuffing from the cushions insert and the response from the Operations Manager from Seattle La-Z-Boy “I am sorry to hear about your concerns. I would be glad to send a tech out to your home to check everything out. From what I see from the pictures the fabric is pilling. This is normal as excess fibers from the fabric ball up. With time this will dissipate. We recommend using a sweater shaver until then. For the cushions we recommend regular maintenance”.

He sent a flyer that had this information with the email. My response was, "Thank you for your timely response. What would a technician do? The pilling is not normal in my opinion. We were not given the information you sent in your email regarding the fabric. I would have not chosen that fabric if I had known it would pill. I would like the couch replaced and would like La-Z-Boy to stand behind their products! What is the manufactures waranty?? His response “The warranty is 1 year, for fabric, poly, foam and labor and lifetime for the frame and springs. The pilling is natural with some covers. There is nothing I can do for that. For the inner cushion I would be glad to order a replacement as well as a new seat cushion. Once in the Tech can install in your home. We are standing behind our products which is why we are willing to order any parts that you may need. The warranty is a service warranty not a replace the product warranty”.

My response “you stating that there is nothing you can do for the pilling is unacceptable and quite frankly poor customer service. The fabric is under warranty”. I was pretty irritated and then said the fabric is poor quality. Asked for his manager's contact information, and said he wasn’t helpful and wanted to speak to someone more professional. I then said “Send somebody out as soon as possible. I would like all of the cushions replaced. As you stated the Fabric is under. warranty!” Like I said I was irritated. He is the manager, so, I didn’t escalate it further..

I don’t understand how Fabric is under warranty, but pilling of the fabric is not.! I told him what I was told by Guardian Fabric, that the pilling was not normal. He stated, “that is not correct as I stated the pilling is a natural characteristic with some fabrics and is not covered by warranty. I can replace the foam batting but the fabric will not be replaced.." I hope this helps customers who buy furniture from La-Z-Boy with fabric that contain “natural fibers”. Replacing the cushion inserts does nothing for the poor quality of the fabric. The couch is less then 4 months old. I can’t imagine how it’s going to look 8 months from now when the “warranty” runs out. Never again will I purchase anything from La-Z-Boy! This experience has been awful!

I was told to purchase an electric fabric de-piller and see if that alleviated the problem. She said if it continued to pill, then it was likely a defect in the material and covered under warranty. Being that I was calling so close to the year mark, I asked her if it would still be covered if I had to call back after trying her recommendation, and she said yes, as the issue had started before my warranty ran out, and she was going to make note of all of it in my account.

I gave the de-piller a few months to see if the pilling would stop. It did not, and has not. It is seemingly endless. So I wrote back to La-Z-Boy Customer service, detailing my previous report. They requested pictures which I sent. Several weeks went by with no response. And getting through to the customer service number is nearly impossible--eternal hold. Finally I spoke with someone to check on the status of my claim. They told me it had been denied because 1) it was out of warranty and 2) I used the chair more than it was supposed to be used. Seriously. They said that. They had no record of the first call I'd made in August. And no matter how I tried to explain what had happened, they were deaf to my pleas, and I was out of luck.

I bought this chair because my Mom had the same chair for many years, which I inherited until it finally broke down. It was a great chair and had a lot of sentimental value as well. But it lasted a really long time--and my Mom, and subsequently I sat in it every day. And there was no fabric pilling at all. I thought La-Z-Boy made quality product AND stood behind it. I was wrong.

I recently started having an issue with a popping spring sound, so I had to call customer service again. Remember, this chair is now less than 2 years old. They charged me $125 upfront just schedule the appointment, claiming that any subsequent appointments would be $0. The service guy came out and order a couple of parts, and I called to get them to come back out and finish my service call. On the day of the appointment, AT THE TIME of the appointment, I received a call from La-Z-Boy telling me that he was sick and couldn't make it. They said they would call me the next day to reschedule. I waited the entire next week and never heard anything. In fact, I have never heard anything else from them.

La-Z-Boy, you have been a disappointment from start to finish with this chair which was supposed to be such a precious memory of my Mom. Your chairs don't last, and you don't stand behind your warranties. You LIED TO ME when you said I WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY BECAUSE I CALLED WITHIN MY WARRANTY PERIOD OF ONE YEAR. I can only surmise that La-Z-Boy, you have turned into a greedy company that is only out to make a quick buck. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am. And I will NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME WITH YOUR COMPANY. What a ripoff.

When we removed the backs to move the chairs, they warped so badly we had to take them in for repairs. Of course we were charged for this. The next time I need furniture, I think I will buy it at Walmart - at least there I expect it to be cheap and fail in a short amount of time. I will happily continue to provide your company with bad reviews - hopefully I can keep others from making the same mistake I did.

I ordered a $5000 worth of furniture from LA-Z-BOY in May 2019 in anticipation for a move. I was even offered an interior designer to come to my home to help set up my pieces. They were to deliver on my moving day. I sold all my old furniture, looking forward to my new custom furniture. On a stressful moving day, LAZBOY delivered my furniture only to uncover it and haphazardly put it together. No designer showed up. The fabric was loose and it looked like tshirt material. I asked the delivery men to put it back on the truck but they did not speak English and simply left. I immediately drove to the store in the midst of my move to tell them I was unhappy and wanted it replaced, it was unacceptable. I asked why the designer didn't come and they told me she didn't know she had to.

The store managers were nice, however, and agreed it was shabby work and did put in the request. The reclining chair, I had to wait for maintenance before replacing first for some reason, but it was no way that chair was usable, it would lean so far forward it'd scrap my wood floors. I was told my replacements would be delivered in 6 weeks. This was August 31. Mid October came along and I heard nothing from LAZBOY. They had hurriedly picked up their original delivery in September, leaving me without ANY furniture. They also requested I make payments on time. It is now November 2nd and I STILL HAVE NO FURNITURE. The nice manager at the store attempted to call the warehouse because their system gave no status updates, and he got no response other than it's in ARKANSAS and has been ready since the beginning of October. No delivery date, no idea when it ships closer to their delivery warehouse.

My calls always fall on deaf ears to customer care associates who say that's not their purvey and there is no one to escalate me to. The manager says that as well. I am very upset with how I have been treated and jipped by LAZBOY, made to pay for a sofa I don't even have the pleasure to sit on. My children have to sit on the hardwood floor in the living room or on kitchen chairs. You've made my new move unbearable and upsetting. I thought LAZBOY was about quality and endurance. I've gotten nothing but excuses and no sofa. I won't be a repeat customer and I want people to know my awful experience.

We made our initial purchase May 2019 and are still awaiting a new leather chair ($1311) after having the initial chair arrive damaged which was reported upon delivery. Assured that this would be fixed timely we are currently with a leather chair sitting in our garage after "5" failed repair attempts (Comfort Care ordered the wrong leather pieces (4) with one attempt to cut a make-shift leather arm) thus leading to now a new order for a replacement which is scheduled Nov. 11 (6-months later). We even had the manager (Adrian) come to our home after these failed attempts and place our chair with a missing arm in the garage 'cause she could not fit the piece in her personal jeep. I appreciated her efforts after she was embarrassed of the continuous nightmare we are living in.

In addition, our couch ($2160) cushions are rotating around the foam inserts and the seems are continuously being construed. We have been led to manually shove our arms in the cushion to align the seams correctly due to the lack of firmness we initially were told would last. We have worked closely with UT Riverdale Road location and still are hoping to feel comforted from making these purchases. LA-Z-BOY has failed to take ownership and support their product leaving my wife and I to issue a letter to the BBB with these circumstances. You'd imagine a new location wanting to provide the best service and quality, but has failed us as customers and advocates of LA-Z-BOY. Instead of ownership taking place we are continuously being forced to work through a 3rd party "Comfort Care" which has held our needs at the least priority.

I've even requested a refund or at the least a discount due to the poor quality and have been told we are having to live with our purchase which we have yet to enjoy. If my chair is not received in new condition this upcoming month in pristine condition I will be seeking legal counsel to sue LA-Z-BOY for providing a damaged item and forcing us to take it. Please provide support higher than this locations manager to take care of us as clients and avoid further issues.

We purchased a sleeper sofa, sofa and recliner from La-Z-Boy, Troy MI in May 2019 (delivery was July). The sales associate was great, hands down. Our sleep sofa arrived damaged late July 2019. (After the truck delivered it to the wrong house - we moved - and we had to reschedule.) The delivery man took a picture of it and told my husband to call for service. I called for service instead, and the man came out and told me there is nothing wrong and left. I then called the service center again to have someone return to my house. I reschedule an appt. and the service man called the wrong number and arrived 40 minutes early on Aug 17 2019. He left a note, didn't attempt to ring or knock---we MADE sure someone was home waiting for the service call, stating that I needed to call again for a reschedule.

I again called, this time a supervisor at the Troy store, and a service man came out Sept 13, 2019. The supervisor stated we would receive compensation for all the issues we had. The service man told me on Sept 13, that we would get a new sleeper sofa since this one arrived damaged and that we would be moved to top of the list for delivery. Oct 21, my husband received a text that La-Z-Boy would be out with a delivery. Our expectation based on the conversation from Sept 13, was that the sleeper sofa was being exchanged. (We have been waiting over 5 weeks for the sofa.) The delivery, instead, was a huge box of the frame for the sleeper sofa and nothing more. This huge box is sitting my living room and I have to AGAIN call for someone to install this frame to replace the damaged frame--I never got a new sofa sleeper.

I called corporate on Oct 22, 1-800-375-6890, and spoke to Claudia, and she explained I had to call Troy again. I am so upset and disappointed with the service from La-Z-Boy and the time we have had to carve out of our work day, several times, to take care of something that could have reasonably been fixed/replaced/repaired months ago. My father in law, retired after 20 years of service in the military, just ordered a couch from the same La-Z-Boy last weekend Oct 18 or 19. I have urged them to cancel this order since my service experience is/was atrocious. I will be calling Troy again today. This is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, in 2016 (now 2019) I purchased a stationary leather chair for $1600 (on sale!) - a price that could have gotten me an entire living room set from a lesser company - I noticed the other day that the seat cushion leather has unraveled from the zipper - while the opening is tucked into the cushion, it is still a gaping hole, leaving the padding completely open.

First thing I did was call La-Z-Boy, they said "sorry, but your warranty was only for 1 year." I thought I had a lifetime guarantee, but no - the frame and the cushion are lifetime, not the leather. Luckily I had purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Well...the 3rd party warranty covers the shell/leather of the chair, but only if its an accident - not a manufacturer defect - which stitch unraveling is.

The only reason why I spent this kind of money on a chair, was because I expected the have it for 20+ years - I thought La-Z-Boy furniture was the kind that lasted forever - I was wrong. Now I can't let my 4 year old near this chair because I'm terrified the hole will get bigger, and I don't have the kind of money it will take to get an upholsterer to come to my house to fix it. Lesson learned - a high price does not equal quality.

In December of 208 I purchased a leather recliner in preparation for a hip replacement in March. Up until about 2 months ago, I was really enjoying my chair and it helped me out tremendously. You see I am 72 years old, retired and needed a place to not only relax but sleep. About 8 weeks ago I noticed that the leather on my chair was starting to peel. I was not sure why or what I had done. I took a picture of the damage and went to the closest store. The salesperson greeted me, and I showed her the picture I took, and she went to the manager. She came back and said I needed to call the customer care line that my chair was out of warranty and there was nothing she could do. The manager did not even try to come over and speak to me.

When customer care got on the line, they said it would cost me $125 plus materials to fix my chair; had just paid $1000 18 months before. I live on Social Security and a small amount from my part time job, so I do not have much money. The salesperson just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. No one offered me any help or any alternatives to my problem. I felt I was treated very shabbily and since I work part time in customer service, I know how important customer service is.

I have posted a picture on Facebook along with my story and all my friends are thanking me for a heads up as they said they would boycott La-Z-Boy. I also put a review on the website pissedconsumer.com but never got any response from La-Z-Boy. I know I am just a little fish in a big sea, but I was under the impression that La-Z-Boy stood behind their products. I guess they do not stand behind their products. It is not as if I abused the chair, I took good care of it and don’t understand why no one will work with me or assist me in any way. I certainly do not intend to purchase another La-Z-Boy recliner as I am sure the customer service would be exactly the same.

It's funny we sit on the floor and when people come over say, "Wow really you paid this for this." Everything is good with guys till you have an issue and not your problem. The cushions are rounded on both the top and the bottom and don't fit correct on the furniture.

I purchased aLa-Z-Boy double recliner from Mathis Brothers in 2015 and was told I had a five year warranty on same. Turns out the warranty only covers the "mechanical" part of the recliner, which apparently does NOT mean the handle which you pull out to recline. Said handle has broken off, making the recliner virtually unusable as such, but it's going to cost me money and 4-6 weeks without the recliner to get it taken care of. BE SURE TO READ THAT VERY FINE PRINT IN THE WARRANTY. Paying over a thousand dollars for a well-known brand means absolutely nothing. I had thought La-Z-Boy would have covered ALL parts of the working recliner rather than only the part that is inside. If you have one and it breaks, you'll need to crawl under the footrest to get the numbers you'll need for repair parts. At 70 years old, that was quite fun. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Learn from our mistake. Save your money and do business elsewhere. After catching the sales rep at the Austin South location pretending to run a sale while charging more than La-Z-Boy's official retail price for his "sale" prices, we made the horrible mistake of doing business anyway so long as they honored the online price. We spent over $2000 to get a sofa that would help my bad back only to receive a literal piece of trash instead. The sofa we received was nothing like the one in store. It looked the same, but the internal material was nothing like it, destroying all the posture support we'd paid for.

It then took OVER A MONTH to get a tech to come look at it, and even then only after I had to call multiple times and was made to come in to "sit on it again" to make sure the difference wasn't "just in my head". During that time we accidentally burned tiny holes in one of the seats. I'd spilled water and wanted to make sure it didn't mildew or mold. I've used my hand drying for this exact purpose countless times on other products and materials. The material just melted away right before my eyes before I could even pull the heat away. The tech told me when he saw it that the material they use is very heat sensitive, but no one told l us this. The tech was frustrated by an number of things about the sofa the sales team never told us, that often waste his already limited time.

The tech offered a solution to change out the padding for the firmer ones we'd ordered and submitted the heat holes issue to the company. He hoped they would just send a new seat cushion, but said it wasn't up to him. He also told us that replacing the material would take even more time. They would send the new material to us at which point we'd have to schedule with him to come install (you know the guy who it already took an entire month to see this time).

Later that day we got a call from La-Z-Boy. After the great interaction with the tech I was finally hoping our troubles were behind us and limited to just the one bad shop. But the woman who called told us they would only replace the seat cushion for a fee, a $300 dollar fee! I called her back and again explained the whole story. I said after everything we've been through with your company the least you can do is replace that cushion. She expressed zero consideration and remorse for everything that had happened and with an attitude elaborated that they were fixing the material, as if she was already doing me a favor.

She then told me to call the material protection plan people. "See if they'll cover it" she said. While we've been sitting here waiting for that org to call us back we looked up the details of the "accident protection plan". It's a complete scam. It covers nothing. We also looked up returning the sofa. La-Z-Boy apparently sends shoddy products to customers so often that they've initiated a 30% "restocking fee" for any returns. That's right when you return their ** product they keep 30%. On our sofa that's almost $1000.

So here we are over a month out, there are holes in our brand new $2000 sofa and the material is utter **. MAYBE La-Z-Boy is taking care of one issue. Maybe another month from now I'll see a result from that promise. I'm not confident. Everyone but 1 women at the South Austin store and the Tech were awful and I can't even return that damn thing.

We should have gone to Rooms To Go. We would have gotten a whole living room for what La-Z-Boy stole from us for this bait and switch couch and we would have likely had a lot less grief to boot. We only went to La-Z-Boy because my back and condition due to chronic illness are so bad that I'm in almost constant pain. They claim to be THE PLACE for the older Americans and people like me. Apparently, like so many others out there, La-Z-Boy just sees us as a vulnerable population they can steal from. Don't fall for it.

We were so excited on Friday to receive our new sectional sofa. It was delivered without being put together, so it appears we have 4 recliners pushed together. Every time we sit in it, it separates. On top of that the quality and comfort that we saw and experienced in the showroom does not match this sofa. It's uncomfortable and looks cheap. We are sick to our stomach about this as we spent close to $6K on this, so expected top quality. Even it was installed correctly, we simply don't like it and it was not as expected. The customer service to get this fairly resolved has been poor. We are being told it will be a 30% restocking fee for a return. This is unacceptable to us due to the quality of what was delivered to us. We are asking for a more fair resolution to this. We would like to remain customers, but this situation needs to be addressed. I can be reached at ** and at **. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

My wife and I purchased a sectional couch with power recliners on both ends. One of the reasons we chose the couch we did was because it was in stock and we wouldn't need to wait for weeks to have it delivered. The couch was delivered 10 days later on a Friday. After setting up the couch the delivery people told my wife they were missing a power supply and since it was Friday they would notify the service department and have one delivered the following Monday. On the following Tuesday we still did not have the power supply so I called the store where we bought the couch and was told the delivery people did not report any issues with the couch, and said they would have a service technician bring us a power supply following Monday. Monday came and went with no power supply.

On Tuesday I called again and was told the service technician was ill and they would have his back-up bring the power supply. The following Monday still no power supply. I called again and was told they would order the power supply ship it to me and I could "self-install" the power supply. Since I was going to install the power supply when it arrived I wanted to see what I would need to do so I looked under the couch and to my surprise the power supply was already there. The couch motor wasn't plugged into it. So I looked for the cable to plug in but couldn't find it. I checked the other end of the couch (which was working) to see where the cable was located. Locating the cable I returned to the non-functioning end and found the cable from the motor had been cut off even with the motor housing.

The delivery people had to know the cable had been cut but, instead of trying to resolve the situation they lied to my wife and did not report the issue to the store. The service department has been giving me the run around for weeks now. I purchased the couch from LA-Z-BOY because of my belief in their quality and service. Boy was I wrong. Buyer beware!!!!

We were very pleased until the last purchase two years ago when we chose a new sofa and recliner from the San Bernardino, CA store. Within thirteen months the cushions lost their support. Some of the motorised components stopped working and the custom fabric began to wear. Here’s the kicker...we’re both slim bodied and less than average weight! We purposely alternated where we sat to avoid wear but it didn’t make a difference. In addition, we purchased an extended warranty and found out it’s only applicable for one service call...which we’re waiting nine weeks for. $5800 later we’re more than disappointed, we’re disgusted, and shopping for a different brand of furniture!

La-Z-Boy Review. I’m writing this because I’ve always heard that La-Z-Boy was one of the best companies to purchase furniture. Their recliners have always had great word of mouth and people have raved about them. That’s why when I was in the market for new chairs (recliners) I decided to check out the La-Z-Boy store located in New Port Richey, Florida. My wife and I looked at recliners throughout the store until we found the one that caught our eye and we spent a lot of time checking it out. Our sales rep Mike ** told us all about the recliner (Full Power Leather Astor Wall Hugger) and the motors located inside. We were impressed with the lumbar feature which we thought would help out our backs and make us more comfortable while sitting in the chair. The recliners (because they are full power recliners) cost over $2100 each, we bought 2, one for each of us. That was May 29, 2019.

The recliners were delivered on June 20, 2019 and the delivery people did a nice job setting them up and showing us the wired remotes and making sure all the functions were working. We were very happy! Then the actual test came, we used them for the evening to watch some TV and a movie. That first night was just fine getting use to the new chairs and the remotes. Within a few days I noticed that my seat cushion seemed to sink down lower than it had the first evening because my lower back was sinking below the bottom of the back cushion. That made the lumbar hit the wrong part of my back which was not very comfortable. And after sitting in the chair for an evening of TV I could not even find a comfortable position to sit in. This was not very good. So after about a week and a half (about July 1, 2019) I called for service to come and check out the seat cushion and/or lumbar position (which I thought might be in the wrong location).

Service came out about a week and a half after I called (July 12, 2019) and did some checking after I told him was my issue was. He ended up adding a 1” piece of foam to the seat cushion saying that that usually fixes that issue for most people. He also checked out the lumbar in the back of the recliner and also added a small piece of foam there to cushion the lumbar roller. When he was done I tried it out and of course it seemed good then and there. But after trying it out again that evening for a few hours I ended up with the same issues. The seat was sinking down lower than it should and the lumbar felt like it was pushing out into my back even when I had it set all the way down.

After a day or two I called for service again and they came out on July 23, 2019 and when I told him the issue he said everything was within spec’s and there was nothing he could do. I told him if he can’t fix it then it needs to be replaced with something that I can use and not have back aches. He stated that he would pass the info on to his boss.

After more than a week of not hearing anything I called the Store Owner where I bought the recliners. After going through all the issues I’ve been having with the recliner with him, he said he would call the service supervisor and find out what was happening. But he also told me that Personal Comfort was not their issue. If this is true then what is their business. I told him that I needed the recliner fixed or replaced or my money back so I can find something that I can really use. But what he gave me was a phone number for La-Z-Boy Corporate Comfort Care to see what they could do for me (That right there told me that he wasn’t going to do anything for me).

Well I did call Comfort Care (734-242-1444) and talked to Dawn, she took down all my complaints and issues along with my phone number and said she would get back to me in a few days after she had time to check on everything. She never called me back so after a week I called again and talked to someone else who explained that after talking to the service people there was nothing they could do because the chair was within spec’s and that Personal Comfort was not a consideration.

Right after I had talked to Comfort Care I received a call from the service supervisor. All he told me was that his service technician said everything was within spec’s and that Personal Comfort was not their responsibility. I tried to explain that it had nothing to do with personal comfort but that the chair sat lower than it should and it was hurting my back (I guess that must be Personal Comfort) and that I couldn’t even use the chair. I called service once more time to fix the lumbar, he came out in two days (Aug 29, 2019) and removed the small piece of foam that was placed in there previously. At least now the lumbar is not pushing into my back like it was because of the extra piece of foam that had been placed in there.

Now very frustrated (September 21, 2019) my wife and I went out and purchased two new recliners (Not La-Z-Boy) because we both were having issues with our backs. I think that La-Z-Boy at one time may have been a very good company to do business with but not anymore. I will never do business with them ever again and I will not let anyone I know shop there either. If I had only looked over the reviews online before I purchased the La-Z-Boy Recliners I would never have done so. I don’t think there was one good review on the site I was looking at.

If this company cared at all about their customers they would respond positively to customer complaints and reviews, but I did not see one response from the company to any of the online reviews, that speaks volumes about the company and the way it’s being run. I will never be able to sell these La-Z-Boy recliners for even a tenth of what I paid but they are useless to me unless the company can make them better. Can You!!!!

On August 6th, 2019, my husband and I purchased a sectional and an entertainment center from the Redding, CA store. Our sales associate, Michelle **, assured us that we would have our couch within 6 weeks, but said that she would "push for it to be closer to two or three weeks". While we recognized this as salesperson lip service, we were still okay with waiting up to 6 weeks for the couch, as it was a custom order. Michelle called my husband once after our purchase date to let him know that our couch would not be available until mid-September, and that was the last we heard from her.

In order to receive any further updates from her or the store regarding delivery dates, I had to call them and inquire, including a call that I placed today to ask what time I needed to be home for the entertainment center to be delivered tomorrow. It was only during that call that I was informed that my couch is now schedule for delivery at the end of October. Was anyone planning to call and tell us this?

I explained that I currently have an empty family room and am expecting guests in a few weeks, and the woman I spoke with (who turned out to be the store manager, Valerie) fed me the usual customer service lines, but also refused to take any responsibility for the reckless promises we were fed by her sales associate, Michelle. Had Michelle indicated in any way that there was a possibility that our family room would sit empty for nearly THREE MONTHS, we would have never signed a contract to pay SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS for this furniture.

I decided to go into the store to speak to Valerie in person, and she was completely shocked to see me. Apparently a customer sticking up for herself when she has been hosed by a store is new to this manager. She nervously wrung her hands and repeated the same 3-4 customer service phrases that she learned in Furniture Store Manager School multiple times, but offered me no solutions or restitution for the extreme inconvenience of this situation. When I inquired about loaner furniture (it's a furniture store, after all) or a discount, she wrung her hands some more and said that she had sent some emails, but didn't have any answers for me. Throughout this conversation, Michelle ** sat about 10 feet away from us with her head down, refusing to acknowledge me or even apologize for this situation. I feel bad for the competent and honest people who work in this store, and I will never, ever return to a La-Z-Boy again.

Brand new it was a beautiful piece of furniture. I spent over $2000 and after just over one year the fabric started to wear thread bare, it faded, pilled and the padding flattened where your ankles rest. My elbow rested on the wood frame-no padding. I am the only person who used this loveseat and always treat my things well.

La-Z-Boy claimed there was nothing wrong with the material and the thread bare hole in my chair was normal wear and tear. I also purchased the 5 year protection plan that I just mailed a request for cancellation and refund because they would only cover it if I accidentally cut a hole in it or the dogs nails damaged it so, save your money. I was moving and chose not to take the loveseat so gave away to the first person to come get it. That is what the loveseat was worth.

As an Interior Designer and previous owner of a La-Z-Boy leather recliner that lasted for 15 years and a La-Z-Boy chair and a half recliner that lasted the same amount of time, I have to say I am VERY DISAPPOINTED AND UNHAPPY with my most recent purchase of 2 push back recliners. I purchased 2 recliners in July 2019 and within one month of using the chairs had to have someone come to the house to service the chairs. My husband and I are the only ones in the house and the only ones using them. The chairs make a clicking noise when you move in them and the finish on the arms were chipping, scratched and the finish coming off within that short period of time.

Why the finish would be coming off is beyond me since they weren't rubbing up against anything. The serviceman repainted the arms and then said he was going to order new chassis for the chairs. A couple of weeks later I called the store and asked about the parts and no one had ordered them!!!!! Poor follow through for sure!

First of all, the fact that we have to have the chassis replaced and arms touched up in such a short time is a sign of poor fabrication and is unacceptable. I paid $1,300.00 PER CHAIR and expected much better quality, especially in light of the fact we are previous La-Z-Boy owners! As an Interior Designer, I was tempted to show your product and the poor quality on my Instagram to steer people way from your products. I'm reaching out to you in hopes that you will return the chairs and give us a store credit for different ones. Please let me know your decision asap so I know how to move forward. Needless to say my wallet will not enter another La-Z-Boy store. Loved my 2 other chairs and absolutely no problem. Pics available.

Purchased a recliner with a renew fabric by La-Z-Boy. Fabric started to peel within two years. Visited the local showroom and they advised the fabric is not covered and they could do nothing. Fabric continued to get worse and took additional pictures to show the manager how bad the recliner looked at just three years. They wouldn’t back their product. La-Z-Boy has discontinued the fabric. (I wonder why.) The manager gave me a number and told me to call La-Z-Boy. I have worked at furniture stores myself, and we always contacted the Manufacturer on behalf of a consumer on a product we sold. Terrible customer service and a flawed product. I will never buy from La-Z-Boy again.

So you want quality chair build with great reliability???? Well, La-Z-Boy is now taking the nose dive into mediocrity and downright bad service. These great chairs are now controlled by a flimsy plastic tip. So of COURSE they are going to break. No big deal right? La-Z-Boy is on top of it. What can go wrong??? Apparently everything. This company refuses to have any plastic handles in stock. What does this mean??? A shipment from China!!! You heard that right; a shipment from China. BUT!!!! First they have to actually get your information right and that can take up to 4 months at this point. SO these well trained people put my 2012 purchase on the claim for a plastic tip and not my 2016. (Yes they don't care if you are a returning customer) the 2012 purchase had a mechanical arm to control the chair there is no plastic clip involved in the chair.... What does this mean??

They drop your claim, never call you, or fix their mistake. I called in July after putting in the claim in June. Oh we will fix the error we are sorry.... It's now August 22 and I call again. THEY STILL HAVE THE 2012 as the claim. But they have lifetime warranty so that shouldn't matter!!! Well it does cause they will drop you in a heartbeat if it doesn't make sense. So bottom line they either lied to me in July, Have NO idea about their products, or just flat out don't give a damn about customer service. I am leaning on all three cause if you knew the product you would know the 2012 purchase is incorrect. Maybe someday I will get to use my 3000 plus couch.... someday.

Last week Thursday they said the couches are recovered however the same thing will happen and we must wait feedback if we can change fabric. Today they say they will be delivering the couches to the branch we bought it from tomorrow. SAME POOR QUALITY FABRIC. I called Customer Service, and the CSR I just spoke to was insincerely apologetic and attempted to explain how their service process works. I really don't care because I had to waste my entire day waiting for no service. Then, they will have to schedule another visit. Charging people for no service is such a racket. UNSATISFIED - I will never purchase anything else from La-Z-Boy. I call because the seat cushions on my 3 seater living room sofa was starting to get access of material balls (just like when you wear a sweater). Even though I purchased the extended 7 year warranty, I was told that that material is not covered. The coach looks awful, it looks old after 1 1/2 years of purchase.

I was told to get a shaver and shave the access material, I have never heard of anything like this before. I thought that in purchasing the extra warranty that if the material on the coach starts disintegrating or ruins, it would be covered. Now I have to do the job that a tech should have come to assess the damage and fix it. This is the reason I will never purchase another thing at La-Z-Boy and will not recommend it to anyone else I know. I will make sure that I put this review on your website so that others will know in case they come across the same issue.

We bought a very nice couch from La-Z-Boy about 2 years ago... In December 2018, the reclining mechanism on one side of our couch stopped working correctly. We called the La-Z-Boy warranty service and a repairman came, look at our couch, ordered parts to be delivered at our house, and left. The parts arrived not long after that, but sat in the corner.

After finally asking my wife what we were supposed to do she told me that we were to call and tell warranty that the parts had arrived. I thought she was going to do it, but found out later that she hadn't so I called, only to find out that there were no times available. I called again in April, this time having a conversation with warranty where I found out that there was no service tech and that I could have have my couch picked up for service with no return date -or- be placed on a waiting list. I chose the waiting list option.

Recently I decided to call again after not hearing anything. After an extended conversation with warranty, I was again told the same thing. After ending the phone call still on the waiting list, I decided to call La-Z-Boy's main number. I spoke at length Kelly who promised to research and return my call. Kelly call today, but did not have any different information: In order to have my couch fixed it must be removed from my house for an open ended period of time. This is the couch for our family room, we use it to watch TV.

With the way our home is arranged, this is our only couch too. So La-Z-Boy is going to take my couch and leave me to sit on the floor. This is hand down the most unacceptable situation I can think of. The warranty says repair, replace, or substitute. After eight months I think La-Z-Boy clearly shown that they will not honor the repair portion of the warranty. I doubt La-Z-Boy will replace my couch so all I can say is: Thanks for nothing! If I had wanted this type of treatment, I could go to Ashley or furniture row...and I would have paid way less. I thought great service would have come with a La-Z-Boy but I guess not. At this point I will never buy a La-Z-Boy again and I will advise ANYONE I know not to buy La-Z-Boy either.

As stated on their website "highest standards for quality, comfort, and durability outdoors as you’ve come to expect from the most powerful brand in furniture, La-Z-Boy," however, when we reached out to customer service they stated since it wasn't torn they will not honor their "highest standards of quality". The chair is less than a year old (only used for 5 months since we get snow in the winter and the furniture is wrapped and stored over the summer). I sent photos of the cushion and how it basically lost all support and they stated they were "unable to process your claim due to cushions being warranted for ripping and tearing at the seams only."

So basically their durability and high standard only covers ripping and tearing. The cushion itself can lose support making the chair useless and they can remove themselves from their commitment to "high standards and quality". What a joke. La-Z-Boy has definitely lost their ability to provide a great product. I will never purchase nor recommend this company ever again. A lot of money purchased thinking we get high quality - joke is on us I guess!

My comments are not directed to the store, they are directed to the factory.... Quality of materials and workmanship OK. I would suggest that someone take a close look at the backrest on your recliners. They don't look like they would resemble the back of a human being, maybe a CAMEL. They may look pretty and maybe even fluffy and soft. Where is the back support?? Comfort is not slumped over with your chin on your chest, nor is it healthy. Why not use the same high density foam in the back rest as the seat and arms?? The electric headrest, when adjusted all the way back still puts my chin on my chest. It serves no purpose. The seats are too deep. I am 5-10 with a 30'' inseam and need to use a pillow on a $1200. chair. I did that on my old $300. chair!!

Another suggestion for future design options; When I scoot my backside forward to get out of the deep seat, the chair tilts forward, lowering the front of the chair. This makes it much harder to get up. Think about an optional stabilizer to keep the front of the chair higher WHEN NEEDED... At this point I am a disappointing customer.

We have had service on it one time, which took over 2 months to receive! The repairman showed us that it is all made of plastic underneath! So why not just buy something cheap? Never buy the power recliners; they're plastic and break all the time.

We need service again! My husband was on hold over 1/2 hour yesterday and finally got a work order. Today they called to schedule and I missed the call. I hit redial and after holding 51 minutes, I was told there is no work order and we need to call for service again! I talked to a manager and there was no work order for us! So, why did they call us to schedule? This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is the most I have ever spent for furniture, over $5,000 and I would tell everyone reading this --DO NOT BUY La-Z-Boy. It is cheap and they're running on their reputation from years ago. It'll catch up with them. We tell everyone not to buy this brand. It's not right. I need to report them to the Better Business Bureau. What a sham and disappointment.

About 6 years ago, I purchased 2 Eclipse recliners and a reclining sofa from Robert Miller & Son Furniture, an authorized dealer for La-z-boy in Kokomo, IN. I was worried about the material that the furniture was made with but I was assured that it had went through extensive testing and that La-z-boy wouldn’t use material that would not hold up and last. While the furniture is structurally sound, the surface is falling apart and peeling and looks horrible. This furniture has been used minimally I can only imagine what it would have looked like in a house with children and pets using it. I think it is ridiculous for how much I paid for this furniture and how little I used it, it needs to be replaced.

La-Z-Boy would not send a repairman until I paid them $124 labor plus parts and said repairs are warranted for 30 days only. I explained that the initial repair did not work and asked if the labor charge could be waived. I was told that it could not be waived. I also requested an invoice instead of credit card charge. They refused. I suggested that the chair was defective and under warranty and they informed me that it could be repaired and would not replace it. When you build the cushion for the corner unit it is about an inch shorter in height than the standard cushion. The technician tried to peel off an inch of the new memory foam cushion and slip it under the upholstery. It is definitely closer in appearance now but because it is makeshift the upholstery fits makeshift. Your quality control lacks integrity and the engineer that thinks a inch shorter cushion will not be noticeable needs to have their degree revoked.
