We don't like giving bad reviews, but we don't want anyone to experience problems or stresses associated with buying La-Z-Boy furniture. We saved enough money to purchase a leather reclining sofa and three matching reclining chairs. We waited five months for the delivery. Sadly, all four pieces were lacking craftsmanship and quality we expected from La-Z-Boy. The reclining sofa had several nail heads rubbing spots through the leather on both sides and there were worn spots and overlapping leather (sewed down) causing puckering in several areas. All three-reclining chairs had worn/scratched areas and again the leather wasn’t attached well leaving puckered areas.

We’ve only had the furniture a few months and the reclining chair’s mechanisms are rough to operate. The cushions are losing firmness too. Service calls were made and the chairs had to go back to the warehouse. We were told it would take 5-6 weeks to receive the replacement parts. It took 10 weeks and the parts were in even worse condition. The repairman was kind and did his best for us but, there was absolutely no quality control from the factory. Do not buy La-Z-Boy furniture. And...Never buy anything you can't see, touch, or feel first! Hard Lesson!

Purchased 2 La-Z-Boy recliners and one sofa. Had them special made with firm foam and material. Chairs are wrinkled Fabric and make noise and creak when you sit and stand and lean. Really really poor chairs. Tech came out to repair said he would escalate for new chairs that they were likely made on a Friday and folks in a hurry. La-Z-Boy Rep called and said serviceman could fix them and needed to come back out. They are going to try and stretch and restaple and tighten bolts. For $1800 a chair this is poor. Should have read reviews before buying. I would not buy from them if I were you.

I purchased a 4 piece remote set. This is the most I paid for living room furniture only because it can be changed every 5-7 years. Once it was delivered I enjoyed it but became very discouraged when I realized the material was harder to keep clean than expected. Customer service was not what I expected for the cost of furniture. I wanted to truth within 2 months of the special order but I was locked in. I will not order from her again.

My family always bought La-Z-Boy due to their quality. We had a La-Z-Boy sectional which was great. No issues at all and lasted over 18 years with still life in it but decided to get new. Of course, we went to La-Z-Boy. Bought a love seat with recliners and couch with recliners. Was delivered end of August 2024. Within a few months the material is bunching up, the armrest on loveseat is all squished in. Both recliners squeak and grind on loveseat. I called and a company came and took pictures. Agreed not up to grade.

La-Z-Boy sent new mechanism for the recliners but nothing for the imperfect material and said the person who came out said normal wear and tear. Nope… not less than 6 months old. So they said they would have another company come to check it. Well the same person came. He said he did not say normal wear & tear and should be corrected. He took more pictures. I called La-Z-Boy few days later. They said nope it is normal wear & tear. My furniture looks like it is 10 years old. I will never buy La-Z-Boy again. Quality is not good and they no not stand behind their furniture any longer.

We bought a lovely sofa and matching chair back in November of 2023. The delivery people were in a hurry and didn’t notice a defect in the back of one of the seats of the sofa. After the technician came, he informed us that he had never seen anything like it. The neck portion of the seat didn’t work, and there is a large bulge the protrudes from the leather in the back of the seat. We have contacted our local store where we purchased it numerous times, and also have been in contact with customer service.

It is now April of 2024, and we still can’t get anyone to even give us a date that it will be delivered. Their excuse is that the leather had to be specially ordered due to its color, but we feel that they are really just dragging their feet. It’s an expensive sofa, and one which we love, but we will never purchase anything from La-Z-Boy again. We are now at the point of begging them to fix it, and we are thinking that we may have to just forfeit the sofa and purchase another at some point. So sad.

More power recliner issues here. We purchased 2 power recliners with heat, massage and a swivel base (Lennon model). Within a month, one started creaking like an old door in a 100 year old house while doing the simple task of lifting the footrest. It was sent out for service and returned. Within a day of the service, the creaking returned and the frame itself started seizing and popping out of place while doing a simple footrest raise or lower. It got so bad that I climbed out of the chair before it was fully lowered because I was afraid I was going to end up on the floor. While I continued lowering the footrest with the controller, the frame seemed to tighten up on itself and then it released with a loud "BANG" and shot backwards about 2 inches! It was so loud that it woke my wife who was sleeping upstairs!

Months later, the retailer who was trying their best to help me said that a replacement was coming. The replacement recliner is the one pictured on the right with the wrinkly-looking leather base. NOT ACCEPTABLE appearance-wise as I wouldn't have purchased anything that looked so bad from the showroom floor. The second photo is the two original recliners fully assembled. The original delivery of our La-Z-Boy furniture was postponed by about 3 months due to the charcoal-colored leather being on backorder due to "quality issues that made it look especially wrinkly." It seems they've either had the same issue with the leather quality, or simply decided to make a batch of recliners with the old leather, regardless.

We are nearing a year from originally receiving these recliners and the second recliner has begun to creak while lifting the footrest. The recliner warranty ends after 1 year, despite them making it seem like they have a "lifetime warranty." The creaking began about 3 weeks ago and had been fine until that point. Overall, I'm NOT SATISFIED AT ALL with the build quality of these recliners. Yes, they are comfortable to sit in, they look nice, and have the features we were looking for. However, I am worried that I will be replacing $6000. in recliners much sooner than I would expect. They are not performing as one would expect a $3000. chair to perform. In fact, I'm beginning to think that I should have just bought the $800. motorized recliner from Costco as the La-Z-Boy product is not living up to its name and I'd likely have fewer problems with it!

SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of the product and the lack of perceived support from the manufacturer. My retailer (not a La-Z-Boy Furniture gallery, but an authorized dealer) is doing their best to help me. But when they aren't receiving proper support from the manufacturer themselves, then how am I, as a consumer, supposed to get anywhere with them? I will be looking at other brands when I need to purchase any other furniture in the future. La-Z-Boy is definitely not the company that I would expect them to be. Our two loveseats are fine, but they are a fixed-seat design. These recliners cost much more, and the fact that we're having problems with 3 out of 3 units makes me think there is something severely wrong with their design, build, and quality.

Purchased a chaise, a recliner and a couch in September 2024. By March of 2024, the chaise has a worn hole in the seat. La-Z-Boy South says it’s not covered under manufacturer's warranty because it’s not a manufacturing defect. Servco (which I paid for) says it is not a covered issue. So now $1800 down the drain. I would never recommend La-Z-Boy.

My wife and I bought these two chairs from the Lafayette Louisiana store. One was on the showroom floor, they said for one year. The other is new from their warehouse. About two months after using these chairs, we noticed my chair, which was the showroom floor one, created an awful squeak when gliding. Swivel and reclining are fine, just gliding. My wife reached out to the store and was promised someone would come to our house to fix this squeak but that was months ago. They never showed up and I doubt they will.

The chair seems to be worn both the cloth as well as the mechanism. We’ve been buying Lazboy for over 40 years and we’ve been satisfied. But now, never again. These chairs are NOT cheap. Quality and service have taken a drastic dive! Let this note be a warning to all prospective lazboy product buyers. I didn’t submit my receipt, sue me. But I know I’m not the only one that has a squeaky ** chair. You are now living Down to your namesake, “layzboy”. You should be Layz ** Service. Thanks

The motor shaft on our La-Z-Boy recliner broke and we ask La-Z-Boy to replace it under their lifetime warranty. We were told that the motor replacement would be almost $350 since it was considered electrical and not covered by their lifetime warranty. Needless to say, we will NEVER buy any La-Z-Boy product again. We replaced the La-Z-Boy with an Ivan Smith recliner and added a sofa. Ivan Smith products are made in the USA and seem to be much sturdier and have a better warranty than La-Z-Boy.

Several years ago we purchased the Mackenzie chair and ottoman. It was the best chair ever! So comfortable and great quality. We moved recently and decided to change decor. We ordered a new Mackenzie chair and ottoman. What a mistake! The showroom did not have one on the floor so we assumed it would be the same. It was smaller, ottoman a third smaller and shorter. It is poorly stuffed. Feet sink and are not supported like our previous ottoman. The company is charging the same price for a scaled down, cheaper quality item. We never minded the prices at La-Z-Boy because we knew it meant quality. Buyer beware- the company is no longer making quality items but charging the same price. If I would have known what I know now, I would have reupholstered our old chair and ottoman. They will outlive my new purchase.

I bought a recliner from an independent La-Z-Boy store but they don’t tell you that la z boy corp will not help you with services. I filed a BBB claim after 5 services visits and being told to call corporate if the local store does nothing. Long story short I agreed to let the local store fix my recline to corp specs. I still have the agreement and after a month and half they did absolutely nothing to fix the issue. They sent the recliner back in worse shape than it left. I no longer can use the recliner because they didn’t send the remote back with the recliner and I can’t get anyone to help. The recliner has a hole now in the leather where they failed to sew back together and the recliner is no longer level and has little pits in the leather from when the pick service picked up the recliner and yes threw it on the truck with the other pile of chairs.

They said nothing when told that recliner isn’t scrape and is coming back. I could have bought 6 recliners from Rooms To Go for what I paid for this recliner. Save your money because the service is horrible and the product you see at the store hasn’t been what I’ve paid for. The first recliner came with fade spots on the leather so I waited 2 months for a replacement. Now mind you I have already paid 3k+ for the recliner and the, second one came and the headrest was broke. The remote kept having to be reset and you felt the spring from the lack of cushion. So I'm stuck with a 3k useless junk and they will not help. Next step is to hire a lawyer.

I bought an electric La-Z Boy 13 months ago. It recently started popping and cracking so I turned it over and didn't notice anything awry. I sprayed some WD40 on the moving components. When I pulled it out to clean under it a few weeks later there were 3 screws on the floor. The bracket that attaches the mechanism to the wood rockers had totally come off. I called LaZ Boy and was told the warranty was only good for a year and I would have to pay them $250.00 for someone to come look at it and order parts. The parts are covered but not the labor. I am really disappointed in them because the mechanism has a lifetime warranty and I am elderly on a fixed income.

We contacted La-Z-Boy and they referred us to a third party company that they use called Premier Furniture Service who we made an appointment to come out today 4/5/24, and they never showed. We wasted the whole day waiting for them and no one even contacted us. La-Z-Boy's work is substandard and hard to believe it is made in the USA. Yes we understand that warranty is only one year only. When we tried to contact La-Z-Boy a recording asked for our zip code. The message was, "Your zip code is not in our service. Contact the store." Four thousand dollars. Their product was not worth the investment as we had Basset leather couches for 14 years. No issues. I had also bought a very expensive office chair from Staples which had to be returned as it broke after the first week. The real sad thing is made in America without quality when you shop for something this expensive for your home La-Z-Boy quality is not up to par.

I would not recommend a La-Z-Boy power lift recliner to anyone with mobility issues! My chair is less than 1 year old. My chair came and the delivery people did not connect the battery pack to the chair. The cord kept coming apart, and it was difficult to reconnect because the cord was very short. If you have issues bending down, it was almost impossible. Also, they did not put in batteries or tell me that might be a good idea in case of a power failure. I had to leave a call back number to get this repaired, which was time consuming. I had to wait 25 minutes just to leave them a call back phone number.

That issue was repaired, and now my chair got stuck in a reclining position. My feet were up, and when I tried to get out of the chair, I slid to the floor! This is dangerous, luckily I was not injured. I had to call the paramedics to get me up off of the floor. Maybe, La-Z-Boy should suggest that people with limited mobility, and live alone should not buy this product? I called again, and the repairman had to order the part. Apparently, the push button control had a broken connection (in less than a year?). My last call to La-Z-Boy, the customer service person said he would have a higher level of corporate call me? It’s been weeks, and no one has called. I am afraid of this chair! I will not recline again. I cannot afford to break a hip or but another chair, so please think before you purchase this product.

At 5 years out the second one failed in the exact same spot. The last time I had this issue both La-z-boy and the furniture store both failed to stand behind the warranty. The spot that failed is not covered, is what they told me. Only the metal parts are covered under warranty and both pointed the finger at each other. The solid wood piece on both chairs that attaches the metal parts to the plywood frame had broken off in both chairs, so not covered. You should not walk away from La-Z-Boy; you should run! This company is not what they used to be. I ordered a loveseat. The salesman said it could be changed or cancelled any time up to 7 days after delivery. I would rate La-Z-Boy minus one million stars. I read on consumer.ftc.gov that the FTC requires the merchant give a customer two copies of a cancellation form. I never even got one but maybe that does not apply to everyone; I am not sure. The only thing I got when I left that store was a delivery ticket that he had pushed in front of me to sign. I asked him why I needed to sign the delivery ticket when they had not delivered it yet and he said because they require a customer to sign one before they deliver. Looks like that would be unlawful. The order had not even been submitted to the finance company yet, much less delivered.

He said if I did not sign it, I would have to come back when the loveseat arrived and sign it because they would not deliver it until I signed it. When he first told me they delivered, he never added the fact that I had to sign a delivery ticket first. What is up with that? I thought a delivery ticket was to prove something had been delivered. It was supposed to a long time for the loveseat to La-Z-Boy. I did not want to come back so I signed the delivery ticket saying they had delivered the loveseat when they had not even submitted the order to Synchrony.

I realized after I got back home that the loveseat was not going to fit in the spot reserved for it. I tried to change it for a different one and she said, No exchanges. I told her that I would just cancel it then because I would never order any furniture that the order could not be exchanged in at least 24 to 48 business hours. She said, Nope, no exchanges! No cancellations! I told her I was cancelling it anyway and not to order it. When they never delivered it, I assumed they took me at my word. I never thought any more about it until about Sept. of 2023, they turned me into the credit bureau. I learned they were saying they delivered it and I signed the delivery ticket. Now we are in the middle of a war over a loveseat I have never even laid eyes on. They never gave me a contract the night I ordered. Synchrony sent one and I could not believe it! They had cut and pasted my signature and put it on a sales receipt.

I could not figure out why because a sales order would not prove delivery. They should have pasted it on a delivery ticket if they wanted to convince people they were telling the truth about the delivery they were being untruthful about. They never did deliver it. I have requested the delivery ticket from Synchrony, La-Z-Boy, and the credit bureaus. The only delivery ticket they have is the one I dated April 18, 2022 and they never even submitted the order until the April 19, 2022 because it was past closing time when we left. I was so tired I never even realized that they had not given me a contract. Anyway, they have ruined my credit. It was 787 and it immediately dropped to 621. I pay every month and it goes up some, but then they report another 30 days late, and it goes back up again.

My daughter had died and I was not in any frame of mind to fight this for a long time. She died July 21, 2022, and Synchrony sent me a bunch of papers July 27, 2022, but I was grieving over my daughter and was not answering emails. I never realized I had gotten these until February of 2024. My daughter had died 6 days before they sent them and they knew that. They knew I would not open them because I was grieving my daughter's death. I was not opening any email except from family and I had told them that and ask them to snail mail them.

I sent all my papers to the AG to try to get some help with my credit file. My investigator sent my complaint to La-Z-Boy and they replied with, We do understand what she wants. If she will say what she wants, we will respond. I was very clear about what I wanted and they just used that excuse as a tactic to stall. You can plainly tell my signature on the sales slip has been tampered with and not written at that time on that document. But my signature on the sales order I do not think will factor in since they never delivered the loveseat.

I won two disputes against them but then they changed the account number and turned me in again telling Synchrony and the three Credit Bureaus that I had signed a delivery ticket and a sales order. What a crock. I never even saw a contract. I did sign one more paper but not sure what it was because the salesman pushed the delivery ticket in front of my nose to sign and then we left. They never gave me a copy of anything but the delivery ticket. So...RUN, RUN, RUN, from La-Z-Boy. They will not keep their word. If you do not think so, look at over 7000 complaints on Facebook. Just search La-Z-Boy. You will find horrible things they have done to their customers. I would not refer them to a flea-bitten dog, much less a human.

I loved LaZBoy. So I bought the Greyson Sofa and recliner. Have a 70 yo with back issues and he wanted a comfortable recliner. I was assured by LaZBoy he’d have no problem with the mechanical's recline. I thought the couch had a lever recline mechanism. It doesn’t. It has these ridiculously cheap D ring recliner cables. Pull the ring and the couch is supposed to recline. Push the foot rest down and you’re back up. Nope, not even close. Instead, you pull the ring, then have to use all your body weight to push against the back to get it to recline. Then to get out of it you have to be a contortionist to try to figure out how to use your legs in just the right position to get it to close. He can’t use it at all. We have had La-Z-Boy recliners over the years and my husband absolutely loved how comfortable they were. We just bought a very expensive model that was all power. This recliner, although was the most expensive recliner we had ever bought. The quality of this was so poor. In no time at all, the cushions began compressing and miss forming. Extremely uncomfortable, and although we had purchased the extended warranty, they could only prop up the back cushion with more padding. Nothing could be done about the side arm cushions. I would not buy from La-Z-Boy ever again as their quality is certainly not what it used to be.

I am the only one sitting in the recliners. Was told that I have to deal with the small furniture company. They are only the middle man and have nothing to do with the construction of the recliner. La-Z-Boy couldn't care less that receiving two of the same recliners with different fit and comfort is really a case of poor quality control from La-Z-Boy.

I ordered some quality foam to replace the cushions on my loveseat and when I removed the covers from the cushions, I was horrified. The cushions were made from scraps of foam. One cushion had seven pieces of foam glued together to fit the cushion. I kept the cushion so I can show people why not to shop at La-Z-Boy. Also, for the sofa, the cushions are about three inches short in length so they don’t fit the sofa correctly. Let me start by saying our experience wasn’t always terrible. We walked into the Manchester location with the intention to just look. Upon entering we were greeted by our salesperson, Nancy. She was never pushy, very polite and was able to answer all of our questions. Long story short we walked out after ordering a couch, loveseat, recliner and extended warranty. Nancy advised us that it would take several weeks for the furniture to come in and we were ok with that. The furniture came over the next couple of months. We finally had our complete set and were enjoying the comfort. However, after only having the furniture a couple of months the loveseat would no longer recline. No worries. We had a warranty. This is where the great experience went downhill. I tried calling for service for a couple of days only to wait on hold for over an hour at times. For someone that works 8-5 this was a problem.

I called the store and told them the issue and the lady literally said to put on my favorite show while I wait on hold because it makes the time go faster. I then spent another few days trying to call with no luck. I once again called the store and explained the situation. The gentleman on the phone was very nice, he apologized and said he would message service to call me. Well service called a few days later leaving a message to call them back but unfortunately I missed the call. They left a message and the same phone number to call back. I again spent days trying to get someone on the phone. At this point we are about 2 months out. I left work early to sit on hold just to talk to someone. When I finally got a hold of someone they told me a tech would call me to diagnose the problem and order whatever parts that may be needed.

The tech called a few days later, diagnosed the problem, said he would order the part and to call back when the part came in to schedule a tech to actually come out. A week goes by, the part comes in and here we go sitting on hold AGAIN. Another couple weeks go by before I can get a hold of someone and schedule for a tech to come out. The tech comes out replaces the part and everything is good again. That was until a couple weeks later when the loveseat goes out again. Let’s just say I’m back to square one but this time I have to go through a third party to utilize my extended warranty. For the amount of money you spend on the furniture and warranty it’s not worth the lack of service you are given.

I am 50 years old and NEVER did an online review. This is so so bad, I felt OBLIGATED to try to warn people away from this company. I bought a chair 1.5 years ago. It was the biggest, most expensive chair in the store. They told me that it has a limited lifetime warranty but told me that I should still get the extended warranty for the pets and motor parts since it is a motorized recliner. I believe the warrant was about $500. After only 3 months, the motor blew out. They sent it to me. It took another 8 months for someone to come and put it in. In the interim, the arm/frame broke on the chair and the seat box lost its cushion and springs. I called for that. They sent someone out. They told me the arm was covered, but the seatbox and cushions were not. I had to pay for that and the labor.

They don't tell you the parts are covered for the frame, but not the labor for anything. They also told me that we can only put 1 claim in on the extended warranty. So if it continues to break, they don't cover it. So basically, stay away. They don't stand by their product. Also, the sales people told me the warranty covered everything, they didn't say EVERYTHING, BUT THE LABOR. I paid 4k for a chair and since another 1100 in fees to fix the chair that was and still under warranty. RUN RUN RUN.

Run DO NOT Walk from Lazy Boy!! I purchased a "leather" sectional sofa in 04/2019, with all the bells and whistle warranties available. My sofa started peeling after only being 4 years and 5 months old! Leather doesn't peel. The sales person sold it as a leather sofa. This is fraud. The sales people say how wonderful the warranties are. They are NOT. The warranty will not cover anything that is not "accidental". Meaning if you don't sit down on your piece of furniture with a very sharp object that would puncture the material then it will not be covered.

I followed their service request form and filled it out in Sept of 2023 heard nothing. I followed up with Lazy Boy 11/27/23 only to be told that it was not a manufacturer defect. They have their telephone representative read from a script that the issue is not a manufacturer defect. They will give you another phone number to call. You sit on hold only to be hung up on! I would never give a 1 star to Lazy Boy but you had to give a star to be able to review. Bottom line...find another furniture store with better warranties and a company that will stand behind their product. Lazy Boy does not!!

The first repair call went well, a repair person came out, repaired the seams, however the repair didn't hold up and within a few months the seams pulled apart again. This is when things went wrong.

The second repair person came out and said the only way to repair the couch was to replace the cushions that had the seams pulling apart. We have had made several call, visits back to the store to try and get this resolved. Upon the third return trip the repair person told us they had the new cushions but no "tools" to remove the fixed cushions on the couch. We are now back on hold waiting for return calls to see when and if our couch will be fixed. We have also called La-Z boy corporate to ask for help. We purchased our trouper 6 piece sectional on Labor Day weekend of 2021 after scouring every furniture store in the South Shore area. We loved the layout and look of the couch and the non-pushy sales person. When we made the purchase we thought we were getting a great deal, although still extremely expensive. Since it was Labor Day we got what would have been an 8k couch for $5,354. That is still a large number for our family but we thought of it as an investment, they told us there is a lifetime warranty on any internal mechanical issues that may arise and we also purchased an extended warranty for the external protection plan. Bases covered, what could go wrong?

Boy, were we in for a rude awakening. We waited five months for the couch to arrive which was fine because we were told that was standard. When they dropped it off they originally forgot to bring a piece of it. Also fine because they ended up bringing it later. What is not fine is how the material of our couch has ripped in three places and they started after just months of having the couch. GIANT rips. Should be fine because we have all that extra coverage right? NOPE. It’s all a scam and please save yourself the trouble and money that we didn’t have the knowledge about beforehand.

I had to call La-Z-Boy probably 10 times before someone called me back. Never once was my phone call answered and I cannot imagine for the life of me that they are so busy they just don’t have time to answer the phone that many times. Of course, I missed their call when they finally returned mine so it was about a month of phone tag before I actually spoke to someone. Once I got someone on the phone they informed me that the external coverage we purchased was through a third party. This was never mentioned to us when we made the purchase, nor was it mentioned the entire five months we waited for and made payments on the couch.

After going through the same process to get someone on the phone with this third party company we didn’t even know existed they informed us they don’t replace material, they just clean it. You’re telling me we added an additional $500 to our already extremely expensive purchase for our couch to be washed?! Are you kidding me?

We thought we were making an investment for our first home and now we can’t even have company over without being embarrassed. Couch covers don’t exactly fit the layout of this couch. It’s truly devastating that we flushed all that money down the toilet and are reminded every time we look at our living room. This company is a scam. Their products are terribly produced and their customer service is atrocious. We have tried every avenue before writing a review like this. Unless you make over seven figures I would save yourself the trouble of purchasing anything from this company.

Recently I noticed the covering on the seat portion of the chair has started separating and the skin coat, which I thought to be bonded leather is peeling away like a thin layer of vinyl coating. This same chair is currently being sold and advertised as a 10 year limited warranty. The back material is supposed to be Faux Leather. Faux Leather is made from a polyurethane film that is applied to a fabric backing, which seems to be what my seat material is made of.

According to the chair specifications, the seat is supposed to be a Bonded Leather, which is actually a mix of both real and fake leather. It is made from the leftover scraps and fibers made from processing genuine leather mixed with a polyurethane binder. When I went to the La-Z-Boy website, it states materials are only warrantied for one year with a proof of purchase. I went to the Better Business Bureau complaint website and it seems that the majority of complaints had a Business response stating "Complaint ID****** has been filed against the incorrect business. The" etc. I bought this brand because I thought it was reputable. I don't know what type of 'Leather' is actually on my chair, but I know it is JUNK. La-Z-Boy Review. We recently moved to Fredericksburg and prior to moving we ordered furniture from designer Lauren Wible at the Fredericksburg, VA La-Z-Boy store. It was scheduled to be delivered close to our move in date of May 12, 2023. This order included a full bedroom suite, dining room table and chairs, sofa, loveseat, end tables, sofa table as well as 5 rugs and pads. The La-Z-Boy furniture delivery crew noted multiple flaws on the dining room table top. They replaced the table but the La-Z-Boy delivery crew refused to take the flawed table and said we could keep it or discard it. We promised the table to someone else for a work table.

We returned to the La-Z-Boy store on September 1, 2023 to purchase a lot more furniture from Lauren Wible. We contracted with her for the furniture and they put the deposit on my credit card. After we were finalizing the purchase, Lauren wanted to know when they could pick up the dining room table that had flaws. We advised her that it was promised to someone else since it had not been picked up or mentioned in 3 months. She said they had to pick it up and we advised her what the Laz-Z-Boy furniture delivery folks had said to us about not wanting the table back.

Her comment was that is the way it is and scheduled the pick up for September 12. We felt that there was a complete disconnect in the valued relationship and cancelled our order and requested a refund on our credit card which was completed a week or so later. In our opinion we felt this was horrible customer service. On a side note; the living room and bedroom furniture is very susceptible to dings (wood is very soft). Their “Serveco total care power plus pet package” only covers mechanisms and fabric. We will never use La-Z-Boy again due to this last interaction.

The fact that the corner piece doesn't have a removable cushion is ridiculous! I can flip all the cushions on the rest of the sofa but not that one so it doesn't match. I paid A LOT of money for this. I wanted "quality" furniture because I never really had it. I'm SO disappointed in the quality! Not worth the money I spent. I could have gone to a discount store and gotten at least the same for a lot less!

After my last La-Z-Boy lasted over 30 years, 3 years ago bought chair with upholstery treatment. 1. They did not treat the upholstery. I called several times and left kind messages. No one called me back. 2. One arm is higher than the other. There is a wide space between the arm panel and the seat, wide enough to comfortably put my whole arm through. Still La-Z-Boy would not answer phone nor return calls. 3. Now chair squeaks loudly, grinds and groans loudly. I’ve looked under it and wood rubs against wood and metal. Can’t figure out how I can fix it. Total junk. WILL NEVER BUY FROM La-Z-BOY AGAIN.

Apparently there is something special about my hair oil that makes leather peel. After 7 months of owning a leather recliner, leather is peeling on headrest. (I do understand leather breakdown over multiple years, not 7 months. La-Z-Boy states this is normal if leather is not wiped down with distilled water weekly. Product not covered under initial one year warranty. I was sold an additional warranty at purchase (Serveco Platinum Protection). Salesman stated, "This covers you if anything at all happens to the leather." La-Z-Boy has told me, "This is only for accidental events, like sitting in your chair with a knife in your pocket."

They have owned many leather products in the past and this has never happened. Have had leather experts tell me this is not likely in such an amount of time. Only thing I use in my hair is shampoo. I actually asked about cleaning the leather at purchase, the salesman looked at me like I was crazy and said, "You don't clean leather, we have a leather conditioner to sell." After spending $3,000, thoroughly discontent with a company that does not stand behind their product. Run away fast!

First, the positives: The Roman "Chair and a Half" is very comfortable to lounge, watch TV or nap in. That's about it. On the other side of the scale is the abhorrent customer service that LA-Z-BOY corporate provides. Specifically, we ordered our power reclining chair on-line, paying 50% upfront, on January 30, 2023. They quoted us 6-10 weeks for delivery, which would have made the latest delivery on or about April 10, 2023. After about 12 weeks with no communication (or delivery) from LA-Z-BOY, I called their corporate customer service number and was connected to a woman that spoke to me as if I were trying to sell her final expenses insurance.

She gave me no information, would not disclose the location of their factories or the order status for our recliner. She would only refer me to the local retailer (???) for their products even though my order was entered on-line and I had paid them a four figure, up-front, down payment. I waited two days, tried again and got the same result. I then called the local store and spoke to the sales manager, who was even less pleasant than the corporate customer service team. She referred me to their warehouse and customer service manager who did do everything she could to help me. The problem was that LA-Z-BOY corporate would not give her any information pertaining to order status or delivery either.

After MANY exchanges of emails with her, our recliner was finally delivered on June 2, more than 17 weeks after placing my order. When the delivery crew came to set up the chair, we found that the back of this custom-made recliner was defective. Finally, a customer service tech from the local store came this week and replace the defective back, 23 weeks after order placement. Although the chair is comfortable and seems durable, I will NEVER do business with LA-Z-BOY again. Any company that does not want to speak to customers, fails to honor delivery parameters and ships a defective product should not be in business!

We have had issues with recliner function on both sides of our couch. The salesman really talked up their ‘lifetime warranty’ but when I went to use it they said it was not covered as a manufacturer prob. This couch has been in the same room the entire time with normal use. The couch is comfortable when you are able to recline. However the warranty is really what sold us on the brand, so needless to say, we are done with the La-Z-Boy brand.

I won’t be able to get those hours back, however they are taking steps to make sure customers don’t experience what I did. They showed me they do care about their customers. Seeking service for a power lift chair and it took over 7 hours of being on hold calling several times over the course of two weeks and then they didn’t send the information I needed to fix the chair. They have a policy if you buy from one of their dealers, they won’t service as to not cut into their dealers business. Well when the chair was purchasing over a year ago, the dealer won’t service it. Back and forth with bureaucratic ** between the two till finally I got the cables sent to me without instructions so I had to call this awful company again with another 45 minutes of my life wasted on top of the other 7 and a half hours already dealing with these idiots. Oh on their customer service line, they’ll give you the options of calling you back at a number you specify within 24 hours, it’s a joke because I received no call. I will never buy anything from this company again. They haven’t a clue as to what service means. It’s a rotten company. Save yourself time and stress and buy from a company that cares about customers.

I accompanied my ninety-one-year-old mother to the store to purchase a recliner on (Sunday) Mother's Day 2023. She was moving into assisted living and wanted something soon. She also has a limited income. She chose a sale recliner that was on the showroom floor that she found comfortable. The back movement did not move smoothly and the salesman assured us he could loosen something to improve that. We were also told the chair came with a full warranty. I didn't realize at the time that I should have asked him exactly what that meant. I thought it meant that the mechanics of the chair were guaranteed for a time period - probably one year. The salesman was not able to give us much information on the delivery date and kept encouraging us to take it home with us that day. I didn't feel comfortable doing that since I am a cancer survivor and limited to the weight I should lift.

Three days later (Wednesday), after a friend offered to help me pick it up, I picked it up at the store. The salesman loaded it into my friend's vehicle, it was in two pieces. We took it to my mom's room and put the two pieces back together. My mom moved into the room three days later (Saturday) and the chair did not work correctly. The foot lifting mechanism was loud and jerky and when lowered, it fell to the floor with a loud bang! On Monday, my mom and I returned to the store to process her delivery refund and complained about the problem to the salesman. The salesman told us to send pictures and he would let us know if service should be called.

While in the store we noticed that the chair my mom bought was marked down another $100. When we pointed the price difference to the salesman, we were told that the chair was now on clearance and no longer had a warranty since it was at a lower price. I made a video of how the chair lift works and sent pictures and the video to the salesman on Wednesday. The salesman sent me the service number and told me to contact them. When I called the service number, I got a message saying their response time was 3 to 4 months out! This concerned me since I feel the chair is dangerous for my frail ninety-one-year-old mother to use in the condition it is in.

I contacted the salesman about the unreasonable response time. Then I received a text message from the service rep on Thursday. I sent my video and pictures to the service rep and she accused us of damaging the chair, "do you know what happened? Looks like the chair was being lifted by the arms?" There is no way my ninety-one-year-old mother nor I would be able to lift this 50-70-pound chair! She said there would be a $99 inspection fee since we picked up the chair. Note. We were not told this when we picked up the chair from the salesman. She also said that it was a clearance item (which is not what the salesman told us) so it is sold as is. If we had been told this, we would not have bought it.

The service rep also said the only thing covered is the frame and mechanics, the inspection fee and labor will be charged and cannot be waived. I contacted the salesman again and asked him why I was being told that there was no warranty. The Salesman said it had to do with the way something was listed on the invoice and that he would get back with me by the end of the day. So two weeks from purchase date, May 28, 2023, I decided to visit a store closer to where I live to see if they have the same chair on the showroom floor so I can check out how it operates. I found the chair with the help of the salesman at that store and made a video of how the foot lift mechanics worked, which by the way was much quieter and smoother.

When I explained the issues I was having and shared my video of my mom's chair, the salesman suggested I speak with the store manager. The store manager for that store happened to be the manager for the store we purchased the chair from! The manager met with me and after viewing the videos which show very different chair operation, proceeded to try to replicate producing the same noises with the chair on the showroom floor. It was obvious she was trying to push the responsibility of the chair malfunction from their responsibility for the chair mechanics to our responsibility because of operator error. She was not concerned about providing customer service only proving that I was wrong. She was very pushy, and in my face. She told me that we would be responsible for the additional cost of shipping and handling if any replacement parts were needed. She implied I did not hear the salesman correctly regarding the warranty or that I misunderstood what he was saying.

Finally she gave me this snobby look and I lost it and told her I would like to return the chair in her face. Obviously, what I said made no sense. I wanted her to get out of my face and I was ready to return the chair since it is worthless to me and dangerous for my mom. She made a big deal about my verbal slip (in her face) and I walked away agreeing to pay for the inspection but that no repairs would be made without approval. I don't want to throw additional money away on a defective chair! The manager didn't give me her business card and I was so upset and intimidated by her I didn't think to ask her for one.

During our conversation she shared "she likes to be the manager because she can boss others around". She thought she was being cute and when I didn't laugh in response repeated it a second time. After sleeping on it overnight and talking to some friends I decided to look up warranty and service information online since I was getting different information from the salesman, service rep, and manager. I really don't feel I am being treated with respect nor am I being treated fairly, so I decided to reach out to customer service at the corporate level on Monday. My mom also ordered items from Furniture Row and the experience is completely different. I no longer trust anything I am told by the employees at La-Z-Boy and so I am thinking about investigating what it would cost for a third party to inspect and fix the chair.

They explained someone else delivers the floor sample, and probably ran out of room on the truck, I wound up canceling the item. The other chair keep getting delayed and took much longer than the store said it would. I wound up having to keep calling to check on the order. It took so long, I wound up changing the fabric.

We bought two chairs and expressed our satisfaction to the local store and to the corporation. Three certified letters were sent over a period of two months with no answers. Local representative, said that after three-day trial, we could take the to the Salvation Army and donate them.

We offered the following reasons for return:
    1. Mechanism did not allow for separate back and leg adjustments.
    2. In the stretch position, the chair would tip over if you had to get out.
    3. Worst of all, the padding in the chair was insufficient.
    4. Price was ridiculous at over $1800 per chair.
    5. Remote control wires would get tangled with chair movement.

Looks like we will have to donate these chairs to Salvation Army or other charity as their spokesman suggested.

In January 1998 I purchased a La-z Boy Rocker Recliner which turned out to be a great chair. In 2020 I decided to get a new chair and retire the chair I had been comfortable in for 22 years. I went back to La-z Boy and found a comparable chair that fit my 6'2" frame. I paid extra for upgrades amounting to about $300, padding being the largest of upgrades. Took about 6 weeks to get it. Got it home and sat in it for a couple of days and found the padding very stiff and uncomfortable.

I went back to La-z Boy and tried to trade for the chair I had originally sat in on the showroom floor. The manager refused any deal. I even asked for an even trade disregarding my $300 upgrade. No deal. He said La-z Boy doesn't accept returns of upgraded furniture. He said I signed a paper that allowed only 3 days from "date of purchase" to change my mind and make a return. It took 6 weeks to get the chair, so the 3 days was gone. Swore I would never go back to La-z Boy.

So I gave the chair to my son and went back to my original 22 year old recliner. This lasted until February 23 when I decided I really needed a new chair. After shopping around and finding nothing, I broke down and went back to La-z Boy. I found a chair that fit my large frame and decides try La-z boy again. The chair I tried was comfortable, but unfortunately, I did not recline the chair because there were other chairs behind it. It seemed to fit good sitting up, so what could go wrong. Well, the chair is fine to sit in, but when I recline the back stretches out and my head winds up between the top cushion and the next cushion down giving absolutely no support for my head. Most uncomfortable chair I have ever reclined in.

Two big mistakes. I did not recline it at the store and again signed La-z Boy's 3 day trial and return. I purchased the chair on a Friday which wouldn't arrive at the store until Tuesday. That takes care of the 3 days. I specifically asked the sales person if the 3 days started when I get the chair on when I purchase it. She said when I purchase it. Now another chair to give away. Beware when buying anything from La-z Boy. I hope I have finally learned about La-z Boy. Absolutely no customer service.

The backs look great. The seats look horrible. There is so much pilling in the fabric. The padding is out of shape. I never will spend that much on a La-Z-Boy again. ATTENTION!!‼️ I paid $449.99 for 5 years of protection on my purchases. Prior to the expiration of my warranty I called the La- Z- Boy warranty company and filed a claim. As instructed I sent pictures via email. They informed me they would get back to me in two or three days. About 10 days later I never heard from them so I called them, gave them the claim number. They said my claim was not covered and they were going to get back to me in in the order they received my claim. Guess they have a lot of furniture complaints. I called the store, explained everything including what the sales person told me when I bought all the furniture which was and I quote. "Anything that goes wrong in five years is covered free." Their response was "We don't do upholstery anymore". I thank them for their time and took them off my list of furniture stores. I would advise everyone to do the same. My sales order # is **.

Outcome: Since we posted online, Corporate Headquarters contacted us and said THE "La- Z -BOY Store" in New Port Richey was a franchise, and they would call the store and have them get back to us. Today, March, 9th, 2023 the store manager from New Port Richey location called and said we could buy a new cushion at our expense. Informed him the sales person who sold me the furniture said everything was covered for 5 years.

I think they call that an implied contract. I told him I would be happy with one of three solutions

    1. Fix the chair
    2. Give me my $449.99 back since the warranty wasn't honored.

    3. Give me a new chair.

He said, "Sorry that wasn't going to happen" and abruptly just hung up. So let me sum up my experience:

The franchised store takes no responsibility.
The independent warranty company didn't even get back to me.

Corporate headquarters says it's not their problem because the store is a franchise even though they profited from selling the franchise.

Remember when you buy from the "La- Z -BOY Store" you're buying from all corporate independent entities that don't honor their customers. The worst part for me is I had to post this review because another corporation just didn't care.

Our story: we purchased a recliner from La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings & Décor, Indianapolis, IN in June 2022. We paid half down and was required to pay the remaining balance 2 weeks prior to delivery which was November 2022. Their 3-day return policy is inadequate when you wait 6 months for the product AND are expected to pay-in-full 2 weeks PRIOR to delivery as we were. Since we truly wanted and needed a new recliner; we had no intention of returning it.

At the time of purchase, the salesman had me sit in several chairs, took my height & weight information so that a customized chair would be built to meet my specifications. We asked about purchasing an in-stock model but that was not possible since, pursuant to the salesman, none of them met my personal requirements. Background info: I was involved in an automobile accident leaving me with permanent neck, back and leg issues. Purchasing a recliner to fit properly was imperative.

Upon receipt of the recliner, 6 months from date of purchase, it was immediately known that there was an issue with the footrest as the footrest doesn’t elevate high enough causing my legs to be slanted downwards causing extreme discomfort and blood flow issues. The leading edge of the footrest causes discomfort on my lower legs where the foot rail meets.

We immediately contacted La-Z-Boy (LZB) and was referred to customer service. That took a couple of days to connect only to be told we would be placed on a waitlist with first availability of February 2023. We called back to our LZB salesman to request an immediate refund. We were told no refunds can or would be issued which we found totally unacceptable.

Only after we filed a dispute with the Better Business Bureau, LZB sent a repairman in January 2023 instead of February. The repairman leaned the recliner forward to take a picture of the model & ID numbers. He sat in the chair and raised the footrest. He agreed that the footrest did not elevate high enough and hit him at an odd angle, too. I offered to sit in the chair so the repairman could see where the footrest hit my legs. He said there was no need because he is shorter than I am and it is obvious that the chair could not and does not fit me properly. LZB reported to the BBB that the repairman made sufficient adjustments to the recliner. NO adjustments were made, none! We also noted that in less than 2 months the leather was beginning to show wear. The repairman said: "that's a common complaint among LZB customers". If it's wearing poorly in less than 2 months, how will it look in a year's time?!

Since LZB has stated that they will not guarantee that any specific chair would be the best fit for the customer, then I reiterate that this sale was made as a fraudulent business practice. I was grossly misled to believe I was making an investment, a costly one at that, for a custom-built recliner to aid in my well-being.

As far as comfort being subjective (as suggested by a previous LZB response), I repeat, there is no way anyone could be comfortable when pressure is brought to bear on one's Achilles tendons. Due to the leading edge of the footrest striking them and blood flows down to the feet because the feet aren't sufficiently elevated making for a dangerous health concern.

We are not alone in our quest for a refund or some satisfaction from LZB. There is a Facebook group titled: "La-z-boy Lazy Boy Dissatisfied Customers". This is a public group with currently 2.5K members as of 02-27-23. This, in my opinion, clearly indicates there are major issues with La-Z-Boy so my case is definitely not a one-off.

I reiterate that I am 72 years old, I was involved in an automobile accident that has left me with permanent neck, back and leg issues. I should be protected from consumers like Lazy Boy who mislead the elderly, have obvious fraudulent business practices, sell defective products, and dangerous goods and services. Lastly, we'd like to note the following: stated on the first line of LZBoy's Terms and Conditions of Sale they make the following statement: "Special Order: We make special order furniture specifically for you and your home." It is printed in black & white on their business form!

We purchased furniture at La-z-boy in November 2021 and were told by our sales consultant as well as the finance rep. there that we would not be billed until the items were delivered. The finance plan we were encouraged to take was the payment deferred for 14 months plan, with the assurance that we don’t have to worry about paying any of it back until 2023. This was one of the main deciding factors to purchase. Because why should we be billed for items we have not received.

The first delivery was Dec.1st, 2021, second Dec. 14, 2021, final delivery May 2022. That would make repayment due dates: Feb.1, 2023, Feb. 14, 2023 and July, 2023. In first delivery there was a curio cabinet that was missing a glass shelf. We informed the sales consultant of that immediately. The second point of contention is the interest we were charged by Flexiti, La-z-boy's financier. I received a statement which shocked me traumatically when I saw it!! I called Flexiti to discuss the extortionate interest charged of $5366.49 on a balance owing of $4436.38!! Despite several and constant follow ups: calls, texts, emails, visits to the store, messages left for and conversations with the sales consultant, and then the assistant manager, manager and customer service director, these issues have remained unresolved.

Having to deal with this issue for the past month, with the multiple calls to Flexiti customer service, the waiting period, and communications with several people telling me that nothing could be done about the interest, not only has been very concerning, but also wasted my time, because I have had to deal with this issue and leave work to visit the La-Z-Boy store in person on 2 occasions and taken time to call and email. Flexiti confirmed we have the 14 month deferral plan, but it became due at the beginning of January, whereas we were told the agreement would not take effect until the furniture was delivered which is why I was under the impression that we had the whole of January to pay it.

When we went into the La-Z-Boy store, the manager, Angela **, also confirmed that we have the 14 month deferral plan, and their policy is that it will not be billed until the furniture is delivered. The second time I spoke with the supervisor at Flexiti, I was told the floor manager offered me a 25% reduction in interest. That is only about $1000!!! $4000 of interest is still expected, when I should not have to pay any interest on the total transaction amount. The most Flexiti is willing to decrease the 5400 of interest is 40%, but that STILL amounts to $3220. La-z-boy is not willing to help me at all, which is REALLY astonishing and disappointing. I do not have that amount. I just paid $8500 to Flexiti. & we do not know if we will ever receive the glass shelf that has been missing from day 1.

I did not order anything ugly or outlandish. I order a standard chair, the James model, with a normal leather (I saw the same leather throughout the store), and with massage, and heat. Nothing special but a beautiful chair that could easily be sold to someone in the general public.

Well, I went to pick it up today and when I see it, I realize that it is much too small of a chair for me. I decided not to take it and go back to talk to the sales associate, Nikki. She showed me a few more models which I fully intended on getting one but towards the end, she tells me, "well, there is a 30% restocking fee." I was shocked. After talking for a while, she said, "Let me see if I can get that reduced for you." She comes back and tells me that they will reduce it to 15% IF I buy something new. I was like WHAT??? So you want me to pay about $300 to NOT take the chair and still spend more money with you? Forget it.

I told her I would take the original chair but never do business with La-Z-Boy again. And I won't. BUYER BEWARE. Any chair you buy is going to have to be made since they don't carry them in stock and even if you want to buy something else, they will stick it to you. Long story for me with La-Z-Boy, but the short story is that this sectional is a replacement for a different couch and loveseat that I had originally bought (Colby). I received what I thought was going to be better furniture having chosen a different couch altogether and I was wrong. Strike 2 La-Z-Boy. I only gave this 1 star because I love the sectional idea, look and fabric of the Reese Sectional. With that said, this sectional is absolutely NOT worth the money. The store sample/display furniture was great but not what I actually got. What I received is in no way shape or form of the what used to be the reputation and or standards of La-Z-Boy. The fabric is great, the color is perfect, but the construction is absolutely horrible. I feel that the manufacturing is rushed and the furniture is cheaply made.

To me a sectional should flow and fit nicely together like it was made as all one, however the couch I received is not. The cushions are different sizes, some are filled more than others, the top cushions are uneven, some shorter than others and seams do not match. Both the single recliner and the loveseat are unsteady and wobbly.

I called the store manager and told him my thoughts of the new furniture and he did send out his delivery manager. Delivery manager agreed that this is not acceptable and told me that the manager would reach out. No call and no response to my emails. So, after two weeks, I reached out to customer care/corporate and sent an email with pictures of my issues. Several emails went back and forth, I was told by corporate that they can tell by the pictures, the couch I paid THOUSANDS of dollars for, needed to be fluffed. Yes, Fluffed and even sent me a video on how to. They did offer to send a tech out to show me how to correctly fluff it! Shocked at this answer for sure. I responded and told them that I didn't understand how they could form any opinion by only looking at the pictures and that I DID NOT want a tech to come and show me how to FLUFF the furniture but to come out and see for themselves.

1/3/23 - Tech came out and said that a "couple pieces of the sectional need to be repaired." He ordered new cushions and "top of recliner", fluffed the corner and tried to adjust the fabric. Soon as we sat in it the corner is right back in the shape it was before the tech came out. I reached back out to tell him it was unacceptable and I'd like another to look at it and as of 1/11 - no response. This couch needs to be completely replaced or my money refunded, period. I paid for great furniture and I deserve great furniture.

Note** At NO time during the hours I spent at La-Z-Boy with the store manager choosing this couch was I told that I would need to fluff the couch on a regular basis or I most certainly would not have chosen it. My advice is to REALLY investigate the furniture if you feel that you want La-Z-Boy. The furniture is beautiful to look at, but from my experience, not made well and not for family use. The quality is not at all what it used to be. Save your money and go with a more customer based company with better furniture.

I purchased our recliners Nov, 2020. A little over a year later the head piece broke. I had purchased the warranty but apparently only good for a year. After paying $160 plus tax to have a technician come out then paying for parts, the tech came out to fix it and said La-Z-Boy didn't deliver all the parts (Techs are 3rd party) so I had to call La-Z-Boy and they told me a different story. Now tech's scheduled to come back out. We will see what happens. And all this so far has taken over 2 months and still not resolved. So #1 the warranty was a waste of money. #2 customer service needs improvement, #3 communication between La-Z-Boy and 3rd party techs is AWEFUL!, and lastly, this was the 1ST and last time I buy anything from La-Z-Boy.

In 2001, I had bought 2 La-Z-Boy reclining leather loveseats and it took 18 years before they start sagging. I think I really got a good product for my money. So in Feb. 2021 I bought one of the same to replace them due to my past experience. I never received them until Dec. 2021. Within 5 weeks after delivery, the bottom cushions had sagged 2½ inches and back cushions the same. I contacted the store (JC Perreault) and they tried to give me a good service but after replacing twice the bottom cushions and once the back, the end results is the same and their conclusion is those cushions are within La-z-boy specifications which to my opinion is way under average quality. So you can understand my extreme disappointment. My conclusion, never buy La-z-boy anymore.

I ordered a recliner on May 3, 2021. It took until February, 2022, to receive it. I understood the supply chain issues and shipping issues going on in the world, so I didn’t complain. When I did call the Customer Service department, they always gave me a date just to shut me up, even though they had no real idea when the chair would be delivered. Saying “I don’t know” would have been more honest. But I was excited on the day of delivery.

On that day, two young and seemingly inexperienced young men delivered my chair and, as they set it up, I noticed a large gash in the front left leg. I couldn’t believe it. After all this time waiting, my chair was delivered damaged. They took pictures, as did I, and sent them somewhere to La-Z-Boy and said I needed to call Customer Service and schedule a repair.

So, I called Customer Service right away (had to wait over an hour for a Rep) only to be told the soonest someone could come to my house about the repair was in April. I truly couldn’t believe it. The day before the repair person was to arrive in April, I got a message from La-Z-Boy that he wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t be able to come. I was instructed to call back to Customer Service and schedule another appointment. Two things here, (1) they should have called me and rescheduled rather than me spending another hour waiting to talk to a Rep; and (2) there’s only one repair guy for my whole area? Really? Aren’t they a large corporation.

So, I call back right away and am told (after my hour plus wait on the phone) that the repair person won’t be able to come until July 2! Are you kidding?? That was the Saturday of the Fourth of July weekend, so I had to rearrange my plans for the Fourth because I really wanted my chair fixed. On July 2 the repair person shows up only to tell me he can’t fix my chair at this point. He will have to order a part. He told me he had never seen the pictures of the damage or would have known to order the part ahead of time.

On August 16, 2022, I called Customer Service again and waited 1 hour and 30 minutes before talking to a Rep (I am beginning to think these wait times are to drive customers away). The Rep said the part was on back order (more blaming of supply chain issues – do they only have one of these chairs in the USA?). She told me she would check on the part and call me back. She never called.

On September 14, 2022, I called back and waited 1 hour and 18 minutes and talked to Kevin. He told me the part was ordered but had no estimated time of delivery. He said he would contact the factory and call me back. He also offered me a discount on my purchase price but was not specific. I never heard back from him either. So, on September 28, 2022, I wrote a letter to Melinda Whittington, President and CEO of La-Z-Boy, to describe my situation and displeasure. On October 20, I got an email from Executive Escalations at La-Z-Boy saying the part was to be delivered on October 22 and I was scheduled to have the part installed on November 4. This was the first I heard that I had a scheduled appointment. Lucky for me, I was available. They give no consideration for the customer’s schedule.

I really just wanted to return the chair at this point. It is very nice looking but not that comfortable. They would not take it back but offered me a 10 percent discount on October 25. It took almost another month and two more one hour and 20 minute waits on hold before I got my refund. I swear their customer service people are trained to tell you they will call you back just to get you off the phone. I understand there were supply chain issues in the beginning; but the rest of the experience is just really bad customer service. I would not recommend buying from them and I certainly won’t again.

I contacted the store on 9/28/22 and sent some pictures of the sofa and the stains. She forwarded the images to corporate (or so I was informed). She was to get back with me, but on 11/7/22, when I had still not heard anything, I called. I was told corporate told me to pay for cleaning. Well, that is unsatisfactory. The foam is flattening (under 2yr warranty). The recliners lay back and sit up right without using the lever on the side (should be under warranty).

We bought two chairs that took over a year to get. No one sits in those because we are scared to since the sofa is such a yucky thing. We would have gone with another maker if we knew the warranties you promise are nothing but lies. Even the salespeople believe the lies, telling buyers that their furniture is covered by some of the best warranties. Not true. I will never purchase another La-Z-Boy product. This sofa is nasty and embarrassing. We even keep it covered with blankets and still have stains. Amazing.

Updated on 10/29/2022: La-Z-Boy has resolved the issue with me, they've always and still make a great line of furniture for fair prices but in my recent experience there was a problem with customer relations. But in the end they have resolved my issue in a VERY fair way so a big thanks to Desiree H. of La- Z-Boy for taking care of me so QUICKLY!! Steve B.

Original: My wife and I walked into La-Z-Boy Furniture in Bakersfield, CA on 04/24/2021 and bought 2 recliners and I finally got my chair almost 1 YEAR LATER!! I was patient and courteous during that whole marathon wait, which maybe they took as a sign of weakness because that was not the worst thing that happened by any means during this consumer nightmare. To my horror the chair arrived at my house as a Rocker Recliner instead of a Swivel Recliner which also costs extra! When I brought that to their attention, they replied over the phone, "No problem. We'll send someone from our 3rd party support team to convert it to swivel." Well 5 separate visits later the swivel add on would not even come close to sitting right, the swivel disc was at least 6 inches off from where it needed to be in order to be balanced and not throw you forward, my guess the mounting holes were in wrong spot but 3rd party company was not allowed by factory rules to make that adjustment.

Now its a full blown nightmare and they could care less. A couple weeks ago I called uncle and just accepted it as a rocker recliner, some 18 months later. I tried early on to get Mark or Jose to come out and check this thing out for themselves but said not store policy, I said, "Ok. Can you have the delivery truck stop by and pick it up and bring it to you?" And same answer, "Not our policy." The other thing is I paid for a swivel rocker and have this rocker recliner and there has been NO mention of adjustment of any kind, What the heck has happened to La-Z-Boy, it was a good solid company to do business with. My wife and I walked in and spent over 2 grand, all paid upfront that day and have been treated like we did something wrong. I'm 67 years old and I would have to at least rate this transaction as in my top 3 worst consumer experiences. Sorry my review is so long, just like transaction and this is condensed. My recommendation is don't pay in full, my mistake.

After a couple of months the electric recliners were not working properly. We called. They sent a representative who inspected the furniture and he needed to order parts. After waiting a long time he came back and changed out some parts and left. It worked for a couple of weeks and it happened again. They sent a representative who informed us that the pieces they sold us were not suppose to go together. The middle section of the sofa should not be a recliner. He said it was going to keep happening.

The metal pieces under the sofa were all bent due to the fact that the middle section which they sold us was not suppose to recline. After numerous phone calls with no results they told me it was user error. The $6000 couches are falling apart, there are huge spaces in between each section and to be honest I’m embarrassed to have them in my living room because they are an eyesore. They don’t open properly and they don’t close properly. The company's stance is they are not going to replace them because it’s our fault. The worst company I have ever dealt with by far.

Within days, in April 2022 I called Comfort Care with the following issues: Cushioning is inadequate and inconsistent from one seat to the next; footrest makes a loud “clacking” noise when going into seated position (sounds like 2 pieces of wood smacking together), when reclining the seat slips and jerks, and when shifting my position the sofa makes creaking and groaning noise, probably the springs, maybe the frame??

The rear of the sofa arms are not cushioned!! It is material over wood frame. Comfort Care said the sofa is designed this way. Great if you want a wood frame poking into your back and ribs!! The Comfort Care repairman has been here 3 times. He said the cushioning is according to specifications the 1st visit, cushioning is done by weight on the 2nd visit, but then returned to add cushioning to some areas. He also said the sofa has moving parts and will make noise! I never had a sofa that made noise!

The footrest still makes the loud “clacking” noise, the reclining mechanisms were replaced by the repairman, but the replacement mechanisms have now started to fail again within 30 days, and every time I shift position or move my legs when seated, the sofa still makes creaking and groaning noises! It is almost impossible to reach Comfort Care – being on hold between 35 minutes and 2 HOURS !! Gave up and sent emails – received NO response. This post is just summarizing all the problems I have had with this sofa. I have told everyone I know DO NOT BUY LA Z BOY!!

I additionally purchased an extended warranty - which I have recently discovered ONLY covers the fabric - not structural. After making calls to several different phone numbers, only to be always redirected to customer care clerk, was told they would only cover the parts. WHAT! The customer care manager Brian told me the warranty is on my receipt - I looked at the yellow copy given to me and see nothing on that receipt about warranties.

Have spent a month trying to contact someone at the corporate level to question how you can represent LIFETIME WARRANTY and the customer has to pay for BOTH the service call and the labor. Mine is a structural issue and deflated padding and I am sure the parts are way less than what I will have to pay for so-called uncovered costs.

I have purchased several items from Hudsons Furniture, along with their extended warranty, and when 2 of my power recliners broke at 2 different times, THEY COVERED EVERYTHING & easily replaced the item or gave me full credit for another item. THAT IS A COMPANY STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND THE PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE. I urge you to read the dozens of reviews from consumers who have had horrible experiences with La-Z-Boy. This is not the La-Z-Boy that earned a great reputation from days gone by. There has been new executive leadership since April 2021 and there are now serious systemic problems within the company. There is no communication or respect for the customer.

In my case, we have been waiting 14 months for furniture and have no guarantee of when we can expect delivery. Month after month passes and delivery continues to be pushed to a later date. I write this as a WARNING. Do not buy any furniture from La-Z-Boy unless it is actually on the floor in the store where you are shopping. Any other orders are considered “special orders” and you will have NO assurance that your furniture will be delivered in a timely manner.

On July 4, 2021, (that’s 2021!) I paid for a power reclining sofa, power recliner and 2nd recliner. When I ordered, I was aware of “pandemic-related” problems affecting La-Z-Boy and I agreed to go ahead and purchase when I was told my furniture would be delivered 4-5 months later in November-December 2021, but I did not agree to wait for delivery for OVER a YEAR+.

I tried working with the La-Z-Boy store where I purchased and they had no idea of when I would receive my order but would not let me cancel my order. After a year the store manager finally acquiesced and told me that he would make a “huge” exception to “allow” me to cancel the order but they will charge me a 50% restocking fee for the items they have not even made! How insane is that?

I called and wrote the corporate office asking for help and only received insulting canned responses telling me was La-Z-Boy is suffering from importing issues or product shortages. I asked them to offer comparable available substitutes from what they can produce and have never heard back. I wrote 5 members of the executive team and none bothered to respond. How is that for customer service?

Please note La-Z-Boy stores are independently owned and operated and there is absolutely no communication between La-Z-Boy Manufacturing, Corporate offices and the La-Z-Boy retail stores. That means no one will assume responsibility or communication to help you. I have ordered furniture to completely furnish a 2 bedroom vacation-rental condo from Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Wayfair, West Elm, Amazon and others and have not had the long waits and issues that I am having with La-Z-Boy. Save yourself, go with one of the above retailers because they have no problem with importing issues or shortages or working with their customers.

The chair came in and once the delivery people left and we examined the chair better, here is the list of problems:
    1) Arms, back and seat are wrinkled badly.
    2) Pack panel to cover mechanism is poorly finished.
    3) The buttons on the side are not tight against the chair.
    4) Several strings which if we cut off the fabric could separate.

    5) Padding is not correct and nothing like the one in the store.

I had a technician out to my home and he wrote this up in a report. I called the service department when I did not hear back from them and when I was finally able to speak to a someone they wanted to rebuild the chair on site. When I said I would stop payment on the balance, he hung up on me. This is a company that promises a quality product responds???

My wife and I are 46 years old and 45 years old respectively. We've been successful thus far, and reasonably frugal with our funds over the years. We are raising two boys, and putting our oldest through college with no financial aid/support. Other than an EZ chair early in our marriage, until January 2022, we never owned a brand new couch, always using hand-me-downs, second hand, or scratch and dent purchases. Finally in January we found ourselves in a situation where we were comfortable making our first full living room furniture purchase.

We purchased two EZ chairs, a really nice couch, a big chair, and an ottoman. The ottoman was not a stock item, so we decided to go ahead and order it with a quoted delivery time of 3-6 months, with a comment that 4-5 was the usual delivery time. We have all the rest of the furniture, so it's not a big deal, right? Well, try and get some service after the deal, and let me know how that goes for you. My wife reached out in June (~5 months), and they said the piece was done, and it would be delivered around July 8th to the local store. We never got a call. THEY WILL NEVER CALL YOU. After we reached out, we were told it would be another week. After another week, they said they couldn't inquire about it being shipped for 30 days.

Again, we have to call to get every update - they NEVER call you unless you demand a return call. Fast forward to 8/1 - I had finally had enough, and reached out to La-Z-Boy on Facebook. They respond that evening with an apology, and a commitment to forward my inquiry on to another team. The other team reached out to me via email on 8/3 asking me for some order information with a lengthy disclaimer that all of their stores and such are independently owned, and they would do their best to broker a solution. I gave them the info they asked for on 8/4, and on 8/8, they said they would reach out to the store, and would contact me once they heard back. I asked for an update on 8/9 - no response. Asked for an update on 8/12 - no response.

I asked for an update on social media on 8/11 - no response. I asked for an update on social media on 8/12 - no response. I asked for an update on social media on 8/15 - finally a response that they have forwarded my follow-up info to the right team again. My wife also called the local store today, and they told her that our ottoman had shipped from the warehouse on 7/30, but could not tell us when our piece would arrive (that's two weeks ago). They claim they have no way to track it, trace it, or perform any other sort of inquiry. I will never buy another item from La-Z-Boy as long as I live, and I will share this experience with everyone I can. This is a pitiful excuse for a company. They only know how to apologize. They do not know how to fill orders.

Bought my $2,600 Recliner/Rocker in spring of 2020. Delivered June/July of 2020. Since then it has been broken as much as it has worked. The recliner mechanism is completely inadequate to handle the forces exerted on it. They used a plastic piece that has broken the most but now the recline shaft is bent into an s shape and all of the metal pins are bent so they can barely be forced out. We verified that my weight was under their maximum and it is. That means their design is not up to the task. It is a large chair design but they used the mechanism from a lighter weight chair.

Original warranty has expired so I'm trying to get the extended warranty company (Servco) to come fix it. This time the ordeal has been going on for 2 months and they can only get to my location the end of this month. So this instance of the break down is going to be 3 months -- if they get it fixed when they come this trip. Last trip (end of July) they sent the wrong parts after we sent them all of the data on the chair. So their staff are completely incompetent. Asked for a full refund of the chair and I would have parted company with La-Z-Boy without filing complaints on EVERY complaint board I can find. They refused so here I am trying to get resolution. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY OR AT LEAST READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS YOU CAN FIND -- JUST WISH I HAD.

I left a message for the store manager that has not been returned after 1 week. La-Z-Boy's "comfort care" left me on hold for 1 hour and 12 minutes when I finally gave up and emailed their service department. Based on the lack of response, this will end up in small claims court. Additionally, the salesperson misinformed me about the independent operation of the legs and back. If the sofa maintained its form and comfort, I would have not been too unhappy. A terrible experience and waste of money.

Having a 15 year old chair from you guys in excellent condition I figured it would be best to get a bigger better model. The whole back on the new chair broke and literally fell off the first week. The repair man said it was likely broke in shipping to our local store. Now a little over a year from the first repair the footrest mechanism has completely snapped and I can't even put the feet up. I am on my second hour of being on hold to get a new service appointment, and I'm pretty sure no one is going to answer.

Well, to my horror...the quality has gone down the toilet. I upgraded the fabric and it's pilling and wearing out (have had the sofa much less than a year). The cushions flatten so the fabric is all wrinkled. Have had armrest cushions replaced, and having them replaced AGAIN, as well as the seat cushions. Of course, MONTHS pass in between these service calls. Nobody answers the phone at LaZ Boy. Your best bet is to email, and pray for a response. I have taken off work 3 days for these repairmen to come out. At this point I just want to return the sofa and chair and start over. Again, I LOVE the tables. Would NOT buy from this company again.

Selected furniture and it took 7 months before it was delivered. Area rug the wrong size. Sofa was so tall my feet could not touch the ground (I'm 5'10"). Had to reselect a different sofa, that went well. Recliners were over stuffed and uncomfortable. Foot rest would not stay up. We had to call for service. Store would not assist in any way. Service finally came out about 5 weeks later. They did not have what was needed to fix the issue. Had parts shipped to me and then I had to reschedle a service call. Leg rest still not working correctly. Meantime, replacement sofa came. When you sat down and leaned back, the cushion creaked. Had to call for service again. Took about 3 weeks to get an appointment.

When they came out, they said they needed more time than allotted and I needed to call for another appointment. Two weeks later, they came out. They fixed the major issue, but now one back cushion thuds when you lean bsck or get up. Oh, the area rug...that wad reordered to get the correct size. It was delivered st the same time as the replacement sofa. It was the wrong rug. Had to reorder again. Still waiting. So I have a defective sofa, two bad recliners and no area rug.

It has been 12 months since we started the design process. We are tired of the run around, poor quality and lack of customer service. No one ever calls us to help out. We get no support from the store. We are tired, worn out and just want our money back. We can't even do that without corporate approval. But again, we have to keep calling for updates. We decided to buy a couch from La-Z Boy since they are supposed to have this spectacular selection. We waited 9 months... 9 MONTHS for our sectional. At the end of those 9 months, you don't always remember exactly what it looked like, felt like, what exact color you chose, how far back the recliner went, but what you do remember is THAT IT WASN'T BROKEN. 9 Months for a broken sectional. The delivery guys tell us they're just delivery guys and call the store... Store tells us to call for a service to get the tech out to fix the couch. SECTIONAL CAN'T BE FIXED FOR A MONTH AND A HALF.

Technician comes out a month and a half later... 10 minutes into him here, all he can say is they're going to have to put in a report and someone is going to be in touch about what to do next but he can't tell me when. The only reason it's two stars is because the sales woman was a delight. Every moment after paying has been awful. A $5,000 broken sectional that your service tech couldn't even fix. Disappointed is an understatement.

After waiting more than 6 months for supposedly two top of the line gliding/swivel/reclining chairs, it's really hard to believe just how bad the chairs are performing after just the first use. The clanking - banging - creaking - groaning noises from BOTH chairs is so bad and so loud, we can't sit in them. Calls to their "Service Department" for the defective chairs is nothing but a total intentional run around that will have you waiting on hold and/or waiting for a service person who simply doesn't show up. You would think that such a large established company like La-Z-Boy would have it figured out, but we have been sorely disappointed and would never buy from them again. It's also important to mention that their retail store in Brick was absolutely no help whatsoever to help resolve the abhorrent quality issues with the product and care only about the next sale.

I went back to the store again and was told again that my sofa would ship in three to four weeks, which is what they told me in March. Whether or not I will receive it, is anyone's guess. Their excuse is that they have had problems with distributors and have also had an exceptionally high demand for orders. As a result, I had to cancel my travel plans and am now being held hostage until La-Z-Boy decides to ship my sofa. While I was last there checking on the delivery status, there was another customer there who had been waiting over a year for his product.

Given that they did not keep their agreement to deliver the sofa by April, I believe that I should have been allowed to cancel the order, but I was told I could not. I wouldn't have purchased the sofa if I had known that it would not be delivered by the time I was due to leave the state for the summer. They do not return calls and when you are able to speak to someone, they just lie. I will never shop at La-Z-Boy again. They didn't even offer any compensation for my trouble.

We purchased a reclining sofa at the beginning of November. We later received notification that the delivery date was gong to be April 20, 2022. Come April and it is now going to be "late May" maybe. According to the agreement, it is too late to cancel as you only have three days from date of purchase to cancel the order even though it may take up 9 months to make and deliver it. There is no way that they have started making something that many months before delivery but you are stuck no matter what. You are committed no matter what delays they incur. So... don't order unless you are certain you can't find a similar item with a much shorter delivery time elsewhere. Arguably, the ingredients are nearly universal and go into every product (wood, cushion material, cloth, springs, controls, hardware). Why it takes 9 months to put it together is a mystery but, that is what you sign up for with La-Z-Boy. Hopefully you won't die before they deliver it.

La-Z-boy will not advise on how to get the service needed during the 1st year warranty, even though ServeCo is one of the warranty services we purchased. After purchasing our ~$3,000k Lazboy sofa we were very excited for the investment and addition to our home we were making. It was delivered on Sept 2021 broken and dirty, we were not given the right to refusal by the delivery company even after pointing out the issues. Since then we have had both mechanisms break on the either side of the sofa, rendering the couch unusable because the foot rest is stuck halfway open.

We've owned the couch for 6 months and it's broken multiple times and now we cannot use it for another 3 months until a service tech comes out -- all while paying for it. We even opted for the extended warranty and now realize that after 1 year of ownership we will need to pay for each tech visit ($124) at this rate of every 3 months needing a repair it will end up becoming a money pit. Highly disappointed with the quality of our product, wholeheartedly think this couch is junk and don't want it in our house. Wish lazboy customer service would be more accommodating with our requests for a refund.

I am more than disappointed and upset with this company and their policies. I purchased a sofa, chair and ottoman spending over 4000. I choose this company because of their reputation for their excellent warranty. I spent this amount of money because I thought I would have a product that was well made and would last for many years to come. I spent hours in the store talking to employees and making sure that no matter what, they would honor a warranty if I needed it, I was very wrong.

Two years into having the set, my couch frame was warped and beginning to crack. I have spent the next 2 years fighting with them about the extended warranty. TO DATE, I have been through more than 6 people, been assured of assistance and shuffled around endlessly. I now have a couch that the frame is completely broken and not useable. My "phantom warranty" will expire at the end of this year and I have zero resolution. The manager at the Barrie location where I purchased it, assured me a few months back she would help. She has now shuffled me to another person without giving me any info and refusing to answer my emails after looking me in the eye and telling me not to worry, she would help. Utterly disgusting practice for such a large company with such a reputation. I will never buy from this store again.

Beware of reviews that are about a recent purchase of furniture that hasn’t been used very much yet. I’m not sure why reviewers are giving 5 stars recently about how great their furniture still is from 20 years ago when things are not built the same. Also the 5 star reviews about recent purchases saying they know how great the furniture will be in “years to come” when it hasn’t even arrived yet.

My December 2020 buying experience was great! Delivery in January 2021 - gorgeous! But I noticed immediately after receiving that my $2700 manual reclining sofa/loveseat head/seat cushions were filled very large squishy foam with absolutely no firmness. Less than 3 month later, the cushions are starting to sag and the fabric loose and starting to pill. A year later, the most worn seat looks terrible - very saggy cushions, fabric is extremely saggy on the headrest and seat and pilled on the cushion edges and footrest. The rest of the seating gets used about an hour a day and is showing pilling, sag and loose fabric.

I spent HOURS finally deciding on La-Z-Boy and making my style/fabric decisions and hoped for the best when I saw the negative reviews of declined quality. It’s a waste of money and a waste of material and will take up space in a landfill a lot sooner than it should. Very sad and very annoying. And as a reviewer on another site asked “If not La-Z-Boy, then what?” I’m not sure where to go for quality reclining, manual (because electric breaks more easily) sofa and loveseat that’s not a sectional. Save your money/aggravation and do not buy La-Z-Boy. Listen to the reviewers who have purchased within the last couple of years when quality wasn’t what it was “years ago”. People who have had the chance to use the furniture for at least 6 months to a year. Listen to them.

Good day; After decades of being a loyal customer, countless purchases over the years with a growing family, I find myself discouraged and disappointed about the poor service I received in my now aging years. Now a senior, and caring for my husband's illness, I've spent thousands of dollars on ensuring he was comfortable in his current state. To celebrate what might very well be his last Christmas, we purchased a loveseat on December 23rd so that company may comfortably sit with him as he is bound to his LaZBoy chair.

After the purchase within 72 hours of receipt we contacted your establishment to request that they pick up the loveseat and work with me to exchange it for something comfortable. After 24 hours the loveseat looked terrible. The right cushion seat was significantly lower than the left. It is uncomfortable for myself and my guests concurred. We've always had lazy boy furniture for almost 40 years now and never have we paid such an amount for what we feel is poor quality. My guests even concurred "This is not something anyone would want to sit on for any extended period of time." The cushions are hard, they sink and lose their shape, and it feels like subpar materials were used in the making, it feels and looks cheap as a result. It definitely does not justify a $2,146.92 dollar purchase for this loveseat.

What adds insult to injury here is that despite several calls and emails and the initial request as per your return policy, the matter has yet to be resolved. I feel as though as a loyal customer who's dropped more than $5,000 dollars in six months in your store on Hunt club road, I've been fluffed off, ignored and put aside. Here we are entering the month of February and I have yet to have a manager deal with this issue and assist us with the return of this loveseat. I can't help but wonder if what I am experiencing is ageism. Is this in fact a result of discriminations vis a vis senior citizens? Or are all customers treated so poorly.?

My Mother has purchase La-Z-Boy furniture for decades...sofas, chairs, hassocks. Most recently she asked me, her daughter, to help her purchase a new Lift Recliner. Because she is a small woman, and with the help of the Oxnard La-Z-Boy sales person, Kayla, we purchased a Miller Bronze recliner/Lift Chair in April 2021. It was delivered to my mother in Ventura and worked for 9 months. It stopped working when my Mother was in a reclined position with her feet elevated. It could not move. Oh, by the way, my Mother is 100 years old, mentally capable, but required the Lift Chair in order to get out of her chair...oh, and she is legally blind. She lives in a beautiful Assisted Living facility in Ventura.

When the chair stopped working family and facility staff tried to correct the problem. No issue could be discovered. After a 2 week wait for service, the 3rd party service man said the "transformer" was damaged and it would take 30 days to get the part and then a service call would have to be scheduled. So, a nine month old chair was not useable!

When I tried to get this problem rectified, I was meant with obstacles. It was only when I said I wanted to replace the chair that a Customer Care representative, Savannah, called to say they will send the part in 3-5 business days. Today is the 5th business day and NO PART. Though I called and emailed Comfort Care, I received no response as of the writing of this review. Currently, my 100 year old mother is out $1700.00 for the Lift Chair, she does not have a lift chair to use, and it is doubtful this will be corrected any time soon. Advice to consumers, DO NOT PURCHASE A RECLINER/LIFT CHAIR FROM LA-Z-BOY!

I've been a lifelong purchaser of La-Z-Boy furniture. Couches, Recliners, Reclining couches.... many purchases, many times. 30 months ago, I decided to leave my old La-Z-Boy furniture in Michigan at my northern home and buy (4) new couches and a recliner for our Florida home. La-Z-Boy no longer makes their products out of solid wood. They use sheet particle board, the frames are made of soft pine and the fiber they use as stuffing doesn't hold form after a couple of months of use.

Too many critical parts of the reclining mechanisms are also made of plastic. Most of the mechanism is metal, however the plastic breaks and I am paying the price after minimal use. In one of my reclining couches, I'm on my 3rd service call for failed parts, and come to find out when they say limited warranty, they mean LIMITED warranty! Mind you, we are only here half the time. We are in Michigan 50% of the time, so this furniture has minimal use, 15 months worth. It all creaks, doesn't hold form, frame is warping and now isn't functional, unless I want to shell out 200.00 for a third service call.

I always bought La-Z-Boy because it's an American brand. Unfortunately, the parts are all from the cheapest bidder in China and the quality has gone right in the toilet. Do your homework. This mistake cost me $8000.00. I'm done with La-Z-Boy. I feel like I got taken to the cleaners and I can get better quality furniture at IKEA.

On 12/20/21, I purchased a new La-Z-Boy rocker recliner swivel chair but have yet to take possession of it. After purchasing it, a good friend warned me that their quality is definitely not what it used to be, which alarmed me. Since the early ‘90s, I've always had La-Z-Boy chairs – and they have always held up great -- so I did some research and found ConsumerAffairs.com. On this website, they had LOTS of complaints about the leather peeling/cracking issues and the lack of response to requests from La-Z-Boy Customer Assistance. The site also discusses the big difference between ANALINE and BONDED leather. Bonded leather is parts of shredded and bits of leather basically glued together with a polyurethane coating.

As to problems with La-Z-Boy’s Customer Service, this may be helpful which I found on Google, “La-Z-Boy has temporarily closed its U.S. manufacturing facilities, effective immediately, to be re-evaluated on April 13, 2020. This does affect its Newton operation. The temporary closure of all company-owned La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries® stores is in process, with 130 of 155 stores currently closed. Mar 30, 2020.” But other websites said there are still some US La-Z-Boy manufacturers, so it was confusing. I put three stars because I've not yet had any problem but I'm going to hopefully find other chairs that rock/recline/swivel as options. I hope this has been helpful. And thanks for the comments as to the extended warranty not being honored; I won't buy one.

La-Z-Boy chairs were my go-to choice for years. I was always pleased with the comfort and quality of the La-Z-Boy Chairs so a lift-chair from La-Z-Boy was my go-to-choice in July of 2017 just prior to knee replacement surgery. The $2000 512 PINNACLE from the POWERLIFT PLATINUM SERIES purchased from Brookfield CT store, worked well during my recovery (I often slept in the chair, relying on it so much!) and up until early May 2020. I reported the problem with the footrest (making chair nearly useless) then and learned that, in order to get repair, I had to pay $150 in advance for service or no one would be available. I paid and had to wait.,broken chair out of use..until June 30, 2020 (more than six weeks) for resolution. Fine.

October 2021. The control for lifting and lowering the chair no longer works. The chair is stuck mid-rise. I had to maneuver out of it most carefully. My daughter was supposed to stay with me while visiting but because the lift chair was broken and would not open or close, there was no place for my daughter sleep. She had to stay elsewhere. My senior apartment is 600 square feet and I do not own a couch. I made the monumental mistake of relying on the “Lifetime guarantee” claimed by La-Z-Boy to work during my daughter’s visit and beyond. La-Z-Boy failed to mention the unreasonable downtime along the way or the fact that there is a charge for repairs that should NEVER have been necessary a mere three years after purchase.

The local store contact behaves indifferently when help for repair is sought. They give you the repair number and nothing else. Repair contact will tell you the cost and the date to expect repair and assure you it can’t be any sooner. La-Z-Boy products were once superior to all others. Not any more. The quality of the product has been so reduced that it requires multiple repairs under the guise of “lifetime guarantee.” Two major repairs in 3+ years is unacceptable and yet..Here I am having to begin AGAIN the frustrating, never ending quest to get my $2,000, 512 PINNACLE POWERLIFT PLATINUM SERIES chair usable again..If possible.

Buyer beware. La-Z-Boy standards have changed significantly in recent years and not, sad to say, for the better.

Worse purchase of my life! It has been barely past one year and the recliner sofas are falling apart (2 of them). We purchased a 3 years extended warranty and since my local store closed nobody wants to help us. We have been transferred I don't even know how many times. For one of the transfers we got sent to Ashley Furniture Store's customer care center! I wish we would have gone to Ashley Furniture store instead of going to a La-Z-Boy store. Poor quality, awful customer service and zero responsibility on honoring a warranty that we paid for with the store credit card. I am unable to locate the original receipt but we have the transaction information via the credit card company and still none will help us. Extremely disappointed! Would not recommend buying anything from this store. I don't write bad reviews but this is just unbelievable.

We are retirees and have been La-Z-Boy customers for years. Almost 6 months ago we visited the Clearwater store and ordered a sofa. We gave them a $1,943 deposit and were told at the time that it would probably be a 6 month wait. We haven’t spoken to anyone since the original order, so I called the other day just to touch base and see if there were any updates since we’re almost at the 6 month mark; not to press for a quicker delivery time, not to get a definitive delivery date, but just to see IF there was an update. Every time I’ve called for the past couple of weeks I’m told that no one is available and that “someone will call me back in about 10 minutes.” We still haven’t been able to speak to anyone. I thought maybe if they really are that busy it might be quicker & easier for our salesman Tom to respond if I e-mailed him instead. No response.

Now we’re really getting apprehensive because they are completely ghosting us, they have almost $2,000 of our money and we have no idea if or when we might be getting our order. We understand that things get really busy sometimes, but to cut off all contact with the customer AFTER you get their money is really deplorable customer service. Their furniture quality used to be outstanding, but in recent years both their quality and customer service have been on a steady decline (read the online reviews). I wish we had taken our order somewhere else.

Worst customer service and am left with no option but to post here and BBB in hopes of getting a refund and them to just come get the couches. I bought $5567.64 worth on two new sofas that arrived broken. I waited a month and half for someone to come out because I understood with COVID and demand that was the soonest they could get someone out and that was okay, that person then broke the couches even more, didn't even fix them I understood accidents happen and figure La-Z-Boy would fix the problem.

I finally get a hold of customer service in July and they offer warranty of store credit to repurchase. UMMM I never received the item I paid for a working new couch, I received a broken new couch that was then broken even more by their own employee. Then they say I can go a rebuy. At the time they were $900 cheaper (now 5 months later of dealing with this and they are 1200 cheaper) and I was just supposed to be okay with $900+ store credit to use in the store I bought from and nowhere else.

Well we are military and that doesn't work very well when we move a lot and second I don't want $900 store credit. I have no desire to purchase any other furniture. I have all the pieces I want and can fit in my house. They won't refund my money and come just come get them because that it where I am at with this. They say warranty but it can't be a warranty issue if I never received the items I paid for. I paid for a working new couch and have not received that, they won't just reorder the same couches for me. I call and get told we will reach out to the store and call you back and NO ONE EVER CALLS OR EMAILS ME BACK.

I am stuck always calling on a Saturday because I work for a local school district and don't get off till their customer service line closes at 3pm west coast time. At this point the couches are still in the same condition I received them. I want a refund and them to send people to come get them. They can have them back. I'm not even being a "Karen" and being like well I want to keep them and get a refund or I want to replace them and refund me a partial or whatever. No at this point I want the refund of the amount stated above and you to come get them so I can be done with this.

Initially I offered a great review to La-Z-Boy based on their sales team. However, both of my BRAND NEW RECLINERS needed major repairs. The first was in the shop for two months when the cheap fabric started unraveling. While it was being fixed, I splurged in March 2021 and bought a higher end leather, powered recliner. Within the first month, I knew it needed repair, but LZB makes the customer take it to their repair center, and as a 100% disabled veteran with major back problems, I had to wait.

Finally got it in the first of July, and after a promise of getting it back in a month, they ghosted me until the end of August. I finally caught up with their company advocate (CSR), and asked for a replacement. She said since I'd had my chair since March 2021, I couldn't get a replacement. She said she didn't know when they would be able to repair my brand new recliner. All of their "leather" was going to new production, and they didn't have a few scraps to fix my chair that they damaged. So here it is 3 months later, and they all act like they don't know me. Escalated all the way to corporate, and they won't respond.

Facebook groups about La-Z-Boy's horrible treatment has literally tens of thousands of unsatisfied customers and their horror stories about this greedy company. I complained to the state attorney who called me right back, and finally had to see an attorney to get this sorted out. Bad company, cheap furniture, questionable leather. They won't special order for you anymore, claiming it can take 6 months or longer, so they talk you into a floor model. That's just one mistake, don't take a floor model because they've been abused. Frankly, don't order anything either because their quality is in the gutter. You can get better quality and prices at BigLots.

This chair was supposed to be backed by a 10 year extended warranty program which La-Z-Boy is not honoring. I have spent weeks trying to get this repaired under warranty with no luck. La-Z-Boy Canada uses a third-party company to handle their warranty claims and they look for loopholes, so they do not have to back their warranty promise. STAY AWAY from these crooks! I'll try to keep my year-long saga brief but purchased a sectional, summer 2020. Paid in full but had to wait nearly six months for "assembly." They have a tiny little store with only a few options to look at and then the "design center" where they get you to spend thousands more on "high-quality fabric" upgrades. (That should have been my first warning sign, product should have at least basic quality to start.) Delivery finally arrives, some guys come out and slap the pieces together like legos. There are immediate STRUCTURAL, QUALITY, PERFORMANCE and DESIGN flaws in the product. We tried to give it a go, but a few weeks later, after the holidays, my wife called the store to address the issues. We immediately started getting the run-around while the salesperson says, "it's a custom piece of furniture" so ** off. So begins days, weeks, months, HOURS of trying to call these people, getting hung up on, told to call someone else, ETC.

The store manager Kenneth ** would not answer or return our calls for weeks, after 100% follow-up being done on our side of things he says there's nothing he can do, "call corporate." Then we got directed to a "district manager" Jonathon. Then we got sent to Julie ** of "escalated concerns" who we were later told no one had ever heard of. My wife was told to call the parts support team, the product support team, and the service center. Mike from service talked down to my wife and told her she didn't understand the product and maybe she should "google it." My wife has an advanced degree and runs a business, she's not an idiot besides the fact that you shouldn't speak condescending and rude to anyone regardless of their education/employment.

I think our favorite was Josh the technician. We had to take time off of work and schedule him to come out THREE TIMES. Josh said he's seen better and he's seen worse (?!) having to revisit all the LA-Z-boy purchases in the area. He told us about the house he was at before ours, where the furious customer picked up the faulty recliner and chucked it across his living room. Now, you might think that customer sounded a little psycho UNTIL YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE money-grubbing, dismissive ** yourself! My wife has been in tears. Negligence and unprofessionalism on their part has continued. She's had to talk to these people while on her job, we've both had to take time off of work, she had to discuss it again while on a recent vacation. We've sent pictures, videos, detailed correspondence and FINALLY someone at corporate escalations offered us..... $250 to keep the product as is.

Btw.. that number is 980-201-3342 so hopefully that will save you 327 hours of chasing, calling and follow-up that we've had to do. Now we have to retain an attorney, call the local news channel or just put it out with the trash and start over with a different company. 10k on a couch with several issues that have not been rectified, rudeness and runaround. Stress, discomfort and months of trying to deal with these people. BUYER BEWARE!

I purchased a high leg recliner summer of 2020, after using it for a couple weeks, the seat was sagging, and that was with minimal use. A technician came out and determined that I needed a new seat., he took pictures of the old seat. La-Z-Boy sent the seat, but nothing with it. I got a new tech out and he replaced it. I showed him additional things that were wrong with the chair. He said none of the items should look like that. I am a return customer for La-Z-Boy, and purchased an identical chair several years ago. It was a beautiful, well made chair, at the same time we purchased another La-Z-Boy recliner, which also held up. We purchased the new chair because of a change in decor and color. The new chair has a hole on one wing, uneven seams and trim front and back. There is a break in binding on the front of one arm, legs were not screwed on tightly, sagging fabric all over now.

I contacted the store manager, who was sympathetic, but couldn't do anything. La-Z-Boy Corporate doesn't care and were very rude. They went on the pictures tech took of seat and said that was normal. I filed a dispute with Synchrony Bank and they found in La-Z-Boy 's favor based on what the company stated. Never looked at my pictures, nor did La-Z-Boy Corporate look at my pictures. I purchased two other chairs at the same time I bought from La-Z-Boy, they have held up with daily use, no sagging, none of the sloppy construction I got from my recliner and they were half the price. I will never purchase from them again, they are not the company they used to be. Their policy is the customer can't be right.

We wanted to update our furniture to a newer modern color and so we gave our 20 year old La-Z-Boy Chairs to our grandkids and bought some beautiful red La-Z-Boy Chairs. They are less than 5 years old and we only are here for 6 months of the year. So this deterioration of the material on these chairs is very unsatisfactory and so is their response to this.

To our dismay....the fabric on them seems to be rotting...This is in areas where we never come close to touching....and also along the sides of the back cushion...again nowhere near to anywhere we would touch. Meanwhile the seats and the arms that get all the wear and tear are absolutely fine. No sign of wear at all. I also might mention we do not have pets or kids….and these chairs are never in direct sunlight.

Now their answer to this problem is it must be the way we are getting up out of our chairs....which is absolutely a joke....Our hands come nowhere near to anywhere, that this material is just deteriorating. And because we are past warranty anything done to fix them is at our cost. So when we have people over and we are embarrassed by these shoddy "old" looking chairs....we are quick to explain the lack of quality and also the lack of backing up this product by the local La-Z-Boy Store.

I am just one average size person and the couch doesn't get used in any manner outside of lounging to watch television. The very expensive insurance that I prepaid for would not cover what they consider normal wear and tear. Of course it was then considered out of warranty so I would need to pay $150 per hour for a technician to come take a look at the sofa. That is just for the initial inspection, then they would need to order parts that I'd have to pay for including a $13.99 shipping fee.

On top of that I'd have to pay $150 per hour for the technician to come back and do the actual repairs. The initial call into the support center to begin this process was in May and I am still waiting in the middle of April for an appointment to be scheduled for the second technician to come out and do the repairs. I understand that times are different during the pandemic but I'm 4 months without 1/2 of a couch and the customer service has been terrible. I shouldn't have to foot the bill to fix a defective piece of furniture that I paid a large sum of money for. I no longer consider La-Z-Boy to be of good quality and I would never recommend the brand to a friend or family.
