    I purchased 3 recliners and a sofa last year. In February I phoned in a complaint on the fabrics used on two of the recliners. They were pilling badly. They also were becoming quite uncomfortable to sit in. We are sinking to the supports in the seat of the chairs. To their credit they did send someone out within a few weeks. The service person said things would have to be ordered and they would get back to us but the pilling of the fabric is what it is and we should shave off the pills!

    They called the first week of June and said the parts are in. The repair person said we should insist on the chairs being repaired in our home as if they took them out it would be months before we had them returned. Apparently that is no longer an option as they called two weeks ago and said they would have to be picked up. I advised that it would leave us no place to sit so they said they would obtain a loaner. Two weeks later and no word! Guess they are waiting for our warranty to run out! I've called at least three time and have been brushed off each time!

    My wife and I were talking recently, and she suggested to me that we needed to replace the carpeting in our condo and purchase furniture at the same time, and I agreed to her plan. We have bought some items, a piece or two, from La-Z-Boy in the past, but this is the first major purchase that we've done from them. We went to the La-Z-Boy store in Canton and the staff took care of us right away. Their help was great. We sat there with the salesperson and he suggested that we buy other items that will go great with what my wife was buying. Then one thing led to another, and before we knew it, we had bought a sofa, a recliner, a chair, an ottoman, and accessories. It was wonderful.

    Then the follow-up was great too. The store was willing to have someone come to our house to help us set up the furniture and arrange these in such a way that the space would be maximized, and the girl who came in here was fantastic. We're just waiting for the carpeting people to come in and do the carpeting so we can get the furniture in place.

    I was checking the stores and looking for a recliner, and I'd seen that La-Z-Boy had the set. So instead of buying a recliner, I bought the set because I wanted the couch and loveseat, and the chair and ottoman. The sales rep asked me what I was looking for, and once I'd seen the fabric and what it had, I knew what I was looking for. I love the quality of the furniture. The only thing that I have complaints on is you only get one of the little pillows for the chair. I thought it came with two because I know the sofa comes with two, and I was gonna order two more because you could only order them in a set for the two little arm pillows.

    From beginning to end, it was a marvelous experience. The woman who assisted me when I entered was friendly and welcoming, and allowed me free rein to wander about the store at my leisure. I didn't feel smothered or pressured, which encouraged me to buy a pair of recliners.     Salesperson lied to me that the recliner was in stock and after a few minutes when the payment was made she informed that it out of stock. She said she was inexperienced and goofed up. When I asked her to cancel the order immediately, she said she cannot refund full amount because she has take out restocking fee. So we were forced to buy the floor piece.

    I can't begin to express how frustrated I am with La-Z-Boy Furniture Store in Santa Rosa, CA. My elderly mother (87) and I selected a new couch and chair to replace her 40 year old furniture set and we were so excited. We chose La-Z-Boy because they were one of the first companies that were supposed to stop using materials containing fire retardant. After a couple of visits, we selected a "Natalie" sofa and chair in a soft green fabric.

    I asked the sales rep twice if the couch and chair were treated with any sprays or chemicals and he said "No". I also inquired about the Hazardous Chemical warning displayed on the front of the store. He said that was for furniture that was no longer manufactured and in the store. At that point, I believed that we were purchasing furniture that was lo voc and as chemical free as possible.

    They called about ten days ago to say that the furniture had arrived. I very specifically asked them to unpack it, remove any plastic, and let it gas off in the warehouse if necessary. Sadly, the pieces were delivered yesterday and, last night, I almost ended up in the ER with chest pain, tightness, nasal burning, a sore throat and a headache that I still have as I write this.

    The smell is slightly sour (a little sulfury) with an acidic effect... It makes my nose and throat burn badly. Breathing was agony at 4 in the morning... It felt like I had an elephant on my chest. I slept a total of 2 hours last night and was miserable. I finally got up and removed every cushion from the set and put them on our back deck. Unfortunately, I can't lift the sofa or chair so those are still in the house. I put a high speed fan in the window and then went to the hardware store where I purchased plastic sheeting that is now covering all doors into our living room so that the chemicals cannot diffuse throughout the house. But worse was the absolute shock I felt when I started reading reviews from other customers about La-Z-boy products off gassing and making them ill. That's exactly the reaction I am currently having.

    So, I called the salesmen that I worked with this morning and explained that the off gassing was making it difficult to breathe. That I had burning pain in my throat and chest. He was not sympathetic in any way. He said, "We've never had anyone complain about the smell before." I said, "Apparently you don't read your reviews on the web. There are many reports of customers across the country getting ill from the gas and I'm one of them".

    I asked that the set be picked up and stored in their warehouse for a couple of weeks so that the off gassing could occur AWAY from my home. He said, "I can't make that decision. You'll have to talk to the store manager." That individual called me a couple of hours later. I again explained that I was ILL and struggling to breathe, that I had chest pain, my throat was burning and I had a terrible headache. His response was, "Off gassing is normal." My response was, "I asked that it be off gassed in YOUR warehouse and clearly that wasn't done properly." He said, "You'll have to talk with the Warehouse Manager on Tuesday. Only he can make that decision.” He also said that they had no space in the warehouse.

    I asked either the sales rep or William (I can't remember which) for the name of the owner so that I could talk with them on Monday and they said, "Oh you'll never get their name. That's why they have managers. You have to work with us." He then refused to give me the name of the owner of the franchise. As a pharmacologist with a degree in biochemistry/pharmacology, I know my chemical safety well. I have never been exposed to such a caustic gas before, even in a lab. I’ve also never had any furniture (leather couches, recliners, chairs from other manufacturers) previously purchased before EVER arrive with such a high saturation of some sort of chemical. I believe both the fabric, foam and glue used to secure the foam layers are all contributing to the overall effect. In my opinion, this is TOXIC, highly volatile and I fear for my family’s health and safety. I have a couple of key points that I want answers to:

    #1 - What is the optimal off gassing time for a piece of furniture?? How long is it done in the local warehouse? Is it done properly? The delivery rep that scheduled the appointment said that they were removed but then covered in blankets. That would, of course, restrict proper off gassing. #2 - Why weren't we, as customers, warned that the smell could be strong? Had someone advised me of that, we would NOT have purchased this furniture. In fact, I feel bait and switched. I asked if anything was treated and was told no… but clearly, the fabric and materials have been treated with a highly volatile substance.

    #3 - How could La-Z-Boy justify poisoning the air of the homes of their customers? What if there was an infant here? My parents are very elderly... 93 and 87. I fear the effect these chemicals could have on their weakened health. There's no doubt in my mind that we are breathing toxic fumes. #4 - Why weren't instructions/warnings provided on how to properly ventilate the room that new furniture is placed in? #5 - I would like the name of the owner of the Santa Rosa franchise. I intend to provide samples of both the fabric and the foam to a consumer safety laboratory for an independent test of what they contain. We want these out of our home IMMEDIATELY!

    We feel very good about our La-Z-Boy furniture. It's not all here yet but we're waiting for the rest because it needed a different kind of fabric. Their sales rep was very helpful. She really worked hard to get us what we were looking for. When they delivered the furniture, there was one part of it that wasn’t sewn correctly and it showed the stuffing from the inside. A man came out and fixed it, and he did a really good job.

    We're moving to a new house and so we purchased a chair, ottoman, a power sofa, and chair & a half from La-Z-Boy. I worked with our decorator most of the time and we had talked about where she would target, and so she ended up going to La-Z-Boy. She was the one that worked with La-Z-Boy quite a bit of the time and then at the end of the day, I worked with them to get the right deal that I needed. It was delivered to us and it went just fine. The ironic thing is I haven't actually been in the house yet but it looks good in pictures. It was a very good experience.

    I bought two rocking recliners and one sofa recliner on January 8, 2012. It was delivered the following month in February. The cost of the furniture was $2904.24.

    Approximately 19 months after buying this faux La-Z-Boy furniture it's started peeling and separating all over, even in the seams of the furniture. I contacted the La-Z-Boy furniture galleries by email with pictures of the defect and they responded the next day stating my 12-month warranty had ended, they were sorry but could not do anything about it. The furniture continues to peel and separate. I recently contacted the La-Z-Boy customer care and they offered me $350 to be applied to new La-Z-Boy furniture and that they would pick up my defective furniture from my home. This offer was an insult. Do not purchase faux leather La-Z-Boy furniture!

    I needed new furniture and La-Z-Boy is close by. We had gone to some other furniture stores and decided to stop in there. We liked what we saw so I decided to get a sofa and some recliners there. The sales representative and designer were very friendly and helpful. We had taken our measurements of the room and the designer put it on the computer and showed us what sizes would be best. I’m very satisfied with it. Our interaction with the delivery team was fine and they said that they would call on their way but they didn’t. I was glad that I happened to be home then since they ended up coming two hours earlier than the scheduled time. Other than that, they were helpful. The furniture is comfortable and it seems to be fine.

    I have two issues. First I have two older La-Z-Boy's that have padding going bad. I contacted customer service and was told they no longer make the chair and therefore they can't supply me with replacement padding. I took one of the chairs to a local foam company and they re-did the foam but made it so firm. It was as uncomfortable as the old foam. I bought a new La-Z-Boy, and surprise, my old chair was still being sold. First, the cushioning in the new chair is flat, so that has to be serviced, which is a six week wait.

    Second, I got back in touch with customer service and they say the old model is changed and under absolutely no circumstances will they sell me replacement foam. Their computer system won't allow it. I brought the back of my chair to the store and it looks exactly the same. I would be more than willing to risk buying the foam I want and if necessary modify it to fit, although I don't think it would be necessary. I contacted the store for assistance and they have not gotten back to me. At this point I may just try a fix on my own, but I am very dissatisfied.

    Updated on 03/15/2017: If I could give their customer service a score of less than 0, I would. This is a follow-up to an earlier complaint that they never followed up on as they said they would. I've spent over $150 trying to replace foam, which the chair is designed to have replaced, and can't get it right. I've tried it professionally and on my own. Their computer system, Hal, won't let them sell me replacement foam whether it would work or not. When I bought a replacement chair that near instantly needed repair, I asked them if they could look at a different chair when they made the repair service call and they charged $100+ to just look, whether the chair could be repaired or not. It took less than 5 minutes to remove a break from two chairs that hung up the recliner. No tool necessary. The repair man didn't even have to look at what he was doing. Yes, this sounds like America.

    My husband and I had purchased a La-Z-Boy before. I told the rep that I’m not buying anything that day. He's very nice and he wasn’t pushy. He was very amenable to anything that I had as far as ideas. He just let me lead the way and I ended up buying a chair. It was delivered on a rainy Sunday and the guys that came in were great. I was extremely happy that the chair came with a plastic and they took it off. Then they moved my husband’s big La-Z-Boy into the basement for me and they put it together again. They were very efficient and I tipped them very nicely. It’s a very good experience.

    I’ve had a different fabric on the chair in which I had seen on another piece of furniture that I couldn't get because the other piece of furniture was too big for my house. I got a very pretty off-white canvas, so it was good. However, I did not know that I had to buy sleeves. I thought I was gonna make one then I called La-Z-Boy to see if I can get that fabric and I’ll make my sleeves. They told me that they don’t do sleeves anymore, they just do the fabric and I wasn’t real thrilled about it. I’ve also ordered a sofa and a loveseat, and I got what they call the sleeve. It’s really just the square of cloth. That’s something that I would’ve preferred because I thought that’s nicer.

    The sectional that we had was worn out, so we had to get something new. The rep at La-Z-Boy was very helpful and gave us all the options so that we were able to decide on what we wanted. There wasn’t any pressure so it was a nice experience. We received our sectional on time. However, the gentlemen that came did have an issue with English since they didn’t speak the language very well but other than that, there weren't any problems. So far the quality of the sectional has been great and we're enjoying it. It has a motorized leg where I put my feet up without having to do anything. It is a nice feature that we didn’t have on the previous sectional that we had. We had to apply for a credit line for the purchase, but there wasn’t any issue with that.

    I was told by the Champaign, IL office "due to policy I am unable to receive a new chair" and my only option is to have a part replaced. The BIG problem with this is that I don't have the chair I ordered. I ordered it for our babies' nursery back in February. I've been sent three chairs now. First one was the wrong chair, second one came with a big scratch on the left arm, the third one came with a long vertical scratch on the right arm. None of this is the paying customers fault. I spent almost $1,000 on a chair back in February.

    Now I am two weeks away from delivering the baby and La-Z-Boy in Champaign, IL has told me I cannot get a new chair and the only option I'm being given is to replace a part of the chair. Obviously replacing a part on a chair that was delivered to my house with a scratch on it is unsettling to me. It is BRAND NEW! Why should I have to settle for a chair part being replaced instead of getting a new chair, the chair I ordered. I believe every paying customer expects the furniture they buy to be delivered without scratches, especially expensive furniture! I was also told that if I didn't agree with their "policy" of replacing a part I WOULD HAVE TO RETURN THE CHAIR THEN I could get my money back. Is this how La-z-boy handles things, really?

    When I said I would like to see in writing this policy they speak of that says when you order a new chair and La-z-boy delivers it with scratches on it to your home La-z-boy has the right to deny you the right to a new chair. So far, no one from the Champaign or Springfield, IL offices have responded. I also asked for the name of the manager above the Champaign office and his extension and they will not respond to this request either. I'm two weeks away from having the baby and will not have a rocking chair now because La-z-boy has refused to send a chair without scratches on it. It's truly disappointing and frustrating. No one should have to fight so hard just to get what they paid for... and let's be honest, La-z-boy furniture is not cheap!

    My full sleeper/couch was attempted to be delivered on Saturday June 11th. While trying to bring the couch in, the delivery people got it wedged in the staircase and damaged my walls (which were just refinished and painted - pictures attached) as well as the couch. Now La-Z-Boy wants me to take the damaged couch and let them repair it in 4-6 weeks. On top of that the delivery person's brother is contacting me asking to repair the walls in my house. What kind of customer service is this!!? My house got damaged, I do not have furniture and I am being asked to take it anyway so it can be repaired in the future!!! I would never recommend La-Z-Boy again.

    I paid over $1,500 for a chair less than a year ago, because I have problems with my back. It worked for a few months but now it seems the cushioning in the lower back, where the lumbar support is, has fallen lower and I was told there is nothing they can do because it has a lumbar support.     Sales was wonderful. A couple of days after delivery, one side of power Loveseat recliner quit working properly. I called the store for service. They said that was the way it was supposed to work. Upon closing I have to kick the closing mechanism back in place. I called for service again about a week later. The service person was belittling to me. He said it was working properly and if he took it to the shop, they would keep it a couple of days and send it back without doing anything to it. The other side works perfectly. I don't have to kick it. At 68 years old I don't think this is proper. They are taking advantage of me. I asked them to replace the one mechanism and was refused.     Updated 8/8/2016 - In June I Filed a complaint about La-z-boy manufacturing and their service department. As of this date they have not responded to me. I guess that the corporate office is also trying to ignore the complaint.

    I would also like to warn others about the warranty sales pitch. We were also turned down after only owning our recliner for a year and two months. They really know how to sell the warranty. "Essentially EVERYTHING is covered. You can't go wrong," etc. We are VERY careful and clean when it comes to our furniture. One problem and we hope to count on our amazing warranty... but, no. Our sales consultant was very friendly but obviously was not educated on the service programs offered. $198.00 down the drain. We are building a new home and hoped to use our credit with La-Z-Boy for new furniture. We will be shopping elsewhere.

    When you think of Lay-Z-Boy you think of recliners. It's true the mechanisms in the chair are excellent. However, there are a few things to be aware of when purchasing there. The upholstery policy does not allow for matching, not even close. There is even a piece on my sofa that is upside down. Once the item is paid for it is your problem no matter how bad it looks. They take no responsibility to provide you with a quality upholstery product.

    Bought a sectional from them and it had a scratch on the leather on the back which you could not see at the store because it was against the wall. I called La-Z-Boy for 3 weeks and nobody would return my calls. Finally I called corporate and the manager called and refused to repair the sectional. He told me I should've inspected the sectional at the store just as I look at used cars. I find this to be horrible customer service!! The salesperson who sold me the sectional told me that he would repair anything that was wrong with it. Totally unprofessional. I will not be buying from them again! Buyer beware!

    Purchased a new Rocker Recliner to replace a 30 year old model that was finally ready to retire. Overall, I love the new chair, but after about 3 weeks I found one arm rest had a very noticeable lump of padding. Upon closer inspection I found the fabric was not secured to the frame by the seat, resulting in an open pocket. I had purchased the extended warranty/protection plan, and felt good about calling customer service about this defect. Unfortunately, it has taken a month to get a tech out, as apparently there are few guys who service large areas. No problem, I can understand that.

    However, we were told the entire arm padding will need replaced, it has to be ordered (7-10 days) and once it arrives to our home, call to set up another appointment for the repair. The tech was very nice in explaining the process, and I'm grateful he wanted to fix the issue correctly, but c'mon! This chair is basically brand new, has a manufacturer's defect and it's turning into a 2 month ordeal. At very close to a grand for one piece of furniture from a company with a great reputation, I'm a bit put off. Depending on how this chair wears over the next year will definitely factor into our choice for our next purchase.

    Scheduling the delivery was kind of confusing. I got a call two days ago saying the furniture was ready and I just needed to schedule a time. And then when we called them back, they said it wasn’t ready and that it wouldn't be ready until next week. They told us it would be a four to five-week window, but it's probably gonna be six or seven. Other than that, the La-Z-Boy representative was great and went above and beyond.     I just purchased a new leather sofa, love seat and recliner from La-Z-Boy and the quality of the leather is absolutely terrible on the sofa and love seat. When I spend several thousands of dollars on furniture, I expect to receive quality items. I've had these items for less than 3 months and we don't even use them for our primary seating in our home. The dye is rubbing off on several areas on the sofa and the leather on the love seat has a cracked look (I think the love seat has been sat on twice). I already have to deal with repairs on the sofa and now need to address the love seat. I am so disappointed and frankly quite upset. La-Z-Boy, you have seriously let down a customer. I will never buy your products again. I am truly sick over spending so much money to receive crappy products. It's a shame.

    I was redoing my living room, so I decided to buy some new stuff. The sales reps at La-Z-Boy were very nice, friendly, helpful and willing to go above and beyond. However, I was not happy with the way it was delivered. They called me the day before and told me they would be here between 1:30 and 3:30, and I said that it would be fine. I had an injury last year and I go to physical therapy three days a week. I go in the morning, so the delivery needed to be in the afternoon. The next morning, they called me and said that they had a cancellation and were going to come between 10:30 and 11:00. I told them it's okay as long as it's not earlier than 10:30 because I have physical therapy, and a woman said that it's not a problem.

    I went to therapy and the only person in the house was a worker we employed to work on our floors, and I told him to let La-Z-Boy wait if they showed up. I got home at 10:25, and they had delivered the chairs and left, which was annoying. I would rather have looked them over and made sure. I love the chairs. The furniture was in perfect condition, but they should’ve waited for me to be home because they came before they were even supposed to be here, and left it with someone that doesn’t even live here. Also, the chairs were put together, but the Velcro that holds it in place in the back so that they can recline back and forth was left out, so this worker and I were trying to fix the Velcro to make it stay together where it has to be put in a certain way or it doesn’t stay right. We're paying a delivery fee, so they shouldn’t have handled it like that. I was happy with the experience at the store but not happy with the delivery.

    The chair was purchased a week ago. It is impossible to sit in as the chair seat tilts forward when sitting upright. The store says no returns, no repairs. They said "we inspected it right out of the sealed box and signed that it was ok. We inspected for tears, rips, stains, etc." The chair was assembled at home... too late to refuse.

    A very good lady helped us at the La-Z-Boy Grand Rapids store. Her personality and the time that she took with us persuaded us into buying some recliners from La-Z-Boy. Two very nice gentlemen were out delivering from Chicago, coming to the store, and they swung by and dropped our two chairs off, and set them up. The quality is good. The only thing that we noticed was right at the top of the chairs, there's like two little ears setting out, and there’s no fabric in them. My wife made a comment about it, but to me, it's fine and I don’t think it’s anything serious. We don’t know if that was the design because we didn’t get the standard material. We got a special material that we paid extra for to match our other furniture.

    It was time to purchase new furniture after 20-25 years so I purchased a couple of power chair and other items from La-Z-Boy. The sales rep was very nice. She recommended to have a designer come to my house, check it out and give me some ideas because that was my first dilemma. My first reaction was no, I didn’t want to waste their time. They sent somebody and we talked about it. They were really nice and really good people.

    I bought top of the line products such as memory foam and other items. I also bought the extended warranty. I would have wanted the items to be delivered all at once but I got a phone call from La-Z-Boy saying that they needed room in the warehouse. They originally said that 3/4 of my order was in, but it ended up being only those two chairs. And they were desperate for warehouse space so I went ahead and took delivery of those.

    So far, their quality is good. I really like it. But I stopped at La-Z-Boy today because I bought memory foam and I know I sat on a couch at their gallery that had memory foam in it and I sink in it. My chairs have memory foam also but I don’t sink in them. I was thinking that maybe they weren’t. So, I took my invoice over to the La-Z-Boy in Costa Mesa and spoke with a gentleman there and asked him if I did get memory foam as it doesn’t feel like one. He had me sit in a chair with and without it, and it’s the same. So chairs are different. I understand it now. I’m just going to have to trust that it is memory foam because I’m not going to tear open the chair. The couch is a no-brainer because I sink down into it but it makes sense that I don’t in the La-Z-Boy chairs because they have hard mechanics in it. Everybody that I’ve talked to there were really nice people.

    Lynn’s got a bad back, and if she reclines, she needs something electric, and La-Z-Boy was perfect to have something like that. The couch of La-Z-Boy was very comfortable. It cost a lot of money but everything else was absolutely perfect. However, I haven't gotten it yet because they had to build it. It's hard to have the exact thing that she liked, but it was wonderful that La-Z-Boy could make it in such a short time. Plus, every single one at the store was wonderful. They answered everything we threw at them and came up with ideas that were pretty cool. I'm gonna go shop in there again pretty soon.

    I had been into the La-Z-Boy store several times and always dealt with the same person, Heather. She was very helpful even though I kept going back and forth between what I wanted as opposed to what would fit into the space that I had. I ended up leaving each time with nothing to think about it. And then, Heather called out of the blue and said that they were having a private sale-type deal. So I made an appointment, came in, and I ended up getting the same set that I had been looking at. But instead of getting it in a sectional, I got it in a sofa and a loveseat. I had no problems at all.

    I had it delivered and it went really well. The delivery guys were on time and were careful. I was really worried that they wouldn't be able to get the set in, but they did it with no problems. They gave me time to inspect and make sure all the pieces were perfect and not injured in any way. I’m very pleased with the furniture and it's been in the house for over a month now.

Unfortunately, my mom's chair started making a stuck/thud noise when she was reclining & the wires on her remote were frayed. We called for service at the beginning of May. The first available opening was 6/21... This is unacceptable. It was a brand new chair. I called Malcolm & he got me an earlier service date but it was when we were going to be gone for my mother's 73rd birthday. Now her chair is broken even more & now the foot rest doesn't go down all the way. I think you should just bring her a new chair. This one seems to be a lemon.     Ordered an expensive leather recliner on April 30 which was promptly delivered the following week, however it was broken. I immediately called the store and was told that I need to go through 'comfort care'. I immediately called 'comfort care' and was told that exchanging it for a non-defective recliner was not an option, that a technician would need to look at it for a possible repair. First available appointment is June 2nd!! Technician would call the day before and 1/2 hr before to confirm. So I have a $2300 broken chair until then?? Really? Appointment scheduled for 8:50 am-10:50 am on June 2nd so I took the morning off from work to be available. 1:45 pm, no technician, no call 1/2 hour before arrival as indicated. 4 calls to 'comfort care' and still no technician and still with a brand new broken recliner and a lost day at work (not a half day as I had requested).

    3:00 pm called again, technician said he came to the house but no one was home. I was home the entire day! No doorbell rang, no phone call! Was told I need to reschedule! Next available appointment is 25 days away!! Another month with a brand new but broken recliner! Although Danielle in the 'comfort care' center was very kind and tried to be helpful, she is not able to get a technician here any sooner. Wondering why I paid $2300 for a defective recliner and horrible customer "care"? Will never purchase from La-Z-Boy again, and continue to hope this chair is repaired or replaced, as it should have been immediately!

    My experience with La-Z-Boy was very good. The designer that came out was wonderful and the manager of the store was great. However, the bottom of the recliners was opened and there's no leather material. It didn't have a skirt across the back so one can see the brackets that they're sitting on which is also the first to see when one walks in our front door. Had I known that, I would've picked out two different recliners because I did get three recliners and one of them has a skirt on it and I would've gotten three of the same with the skirt. We bought a lot of furniture with La-Z-Boy and it frustrates me that no one pointed that out or showed that to me because it really looks bad.

    I gave away my old couch and chairs because they weren't a matching set, a decision I now regret. Admittedly, I LOVE the style of our new La-Z-Boy living room set that was delivered early December of 2015. The delivery people slashed the front of the arm with what looked like knife/blade so we had to wait for them to send someone out to replace the arm, which took about a month. Understandably, mistakes happen. By March, I noticed the head area on the right side (when facing the couch) was going flat. I tried to push the filling in the head area over to the other side of that particular seat, but it didn't work. In May, I called Slumberland and they informed me that despite my one-year guarantee, they charge $39 to send someone (a local contractor) to take a look at it.

    Like I did, the contractor tried pushing the fiber over from the outside, but you could still visibly see the indentation in the pillow area where your head rests. He then removed the back, took a long needle and spent 10 minutes pulling fiber to that side of the pillow head area of that seat. He explained that the pillow head area on the couch was filled with what amounted to Dacron fiber (however Slumberland has their own name for it) and that I should rotate the individual backs of our couch and loveseat on a regular basis to prevent this from happening again. This $2700 living room set is at most SIX months old. How often do they expect you to unscrew the individual backs of your couch/loveseat to switch them around? Seriously? I was so stunned, that I didn't think to ask him how often. Obviously, more often that every six months. I'm still floored by this idea.

    I'm 64 years old and I've owned a few couches in my lifetime. Nothing like this was ever an issue with any of them. I am not a couch potato. I weigh 115 pounds. My husband weighs 165 pounds. According to Google, the average head weighs 10 pounds. I can't imagine a living room set being treated more gently. I'm concerned about what lies ahead, after the year guarantee has past. I now wish I'd done some research on La-Z-Boy complaints rather than trusting the name and reputation of La-Z-Boy. It looks good for now, but for how long? Buyer BEWARE.

    I purchased a leather sofa, chair, and recliner from the La-Z-Boy store in Round Rock, Texas. The furniture was delivered and noted by the delivery person that the recliner was not acceptable due to the leather being twisted and "pleated" and poorly constructed. The following day I visited the store to ask for resolution and was told that corporate customer service would have to send someone out to take pictures and make a determination. Weeks later a representative came and confirmed that the chair should be replaced. I requested a refund, expecting that any replacement would also be poor quality. The representative agreed to put that in his report. Nothing happened. Phone calls were not returned. I went back to the store again, waited almost an hour to speak to the Manager, again requesting resolution and was told by the Manager that it was not his problem and he would not accept return of the furniture and would not return my money.

    Here is my experience in the purchase of a La-Z-Boy lemon (recliner) costing $1679.98. The recliner is a La-Z-Boy Maverick, which was ordered in February along with a La-Z-Boy couch. Both were delivered on April 7, 2016. My wife and I made two trips to the La-Z-Boy gallery in Greenville, SC and spent about a total of eight hours deciding on our purchase. We sat on a couch identical to the one we ordered. We also sat on several Maverick chairs. One chair was leather and the other two were fabric. All three chairs were extremely “COMFORTABLE”. The couch was a “STOCK” item and the chair was “SPECIAL ORDER” due to the fabric we wanted. Please remember these terms because they played a major outcome of our purchase.

    Both the couch and chair we chose in the showroom were extremely COMFORTABLE. The chair replaced a well-worn La-Z-Boy recliner I had owned since 1994. The old chair had been comfortable for many years but was now causing old injuries/arthritis to become painful. Also, we currently own a La-Z-Boy couch and chair, which is located in our living room. Both are as COMFORTABLE today as they were when we looked at them in the store fifteen years ago.

    The couch and chair were delivered and the couch was just as COMFORTABLE as the couch in the store. The chair WAS NOT COMFORTABLE. The chair seat was much too firm, sitting you higher in the chair. This difference changed the experience of trying to relax in our new chair causing more neck and back pain. I immediately contacted the La-Z-Boy associate we worked with in the Greenville, SC store. He said he would notify the store Manager and the Operations Manager and someone would contact us within a few days.

    It took 21 days, several phone calls, and emails before someone from Customer Service in Chester, SC contacted me to set up an appointment to inspect the chair. A service technician inspected the chair on the 10th of May. He did agree that the seat was very firm. However, I received a phone call later that day from the Customer Service department stating that the chair was made correctly and therefore not defective.

    He said that the chairs in the store may have been there for six months and had been sat in by many people (including staff personnel in meetings). These chairs had been “broke in” and would sit differently than a new chair. He suggested that we use the chair to break it in during the warranty period. He also said that the seat poly would compress 1” – 1 ½”. My reply was, “We would have this same conversation at that time and the decision would not change if the chair was still not COMFORTABLE”. Remember the word “COMFORTABLE”? Here is where its use is finally revealed. The gentleman’s response from Customer Service about my statement that the chair WAS NOT COMFORTABLE, was, “Comfort is subjective” and is NOT covered under warranty.

    However: On the home page of La-Z-Boy, they have the words, “Live Life Comfortably”. If their product is NOT COMFORTABLE, how can I live life comfortably sitting in an uncomfortable La-Z-Boy chair? Also, in their Spring & Summer Style Book 2016 they use “comfortable yet durable”, “Timeless Comfort”, and “Comfortably Casual” to describe their products. Do you think that “COMFORT/COMFORTABLE” is subjective and not relevant to a purchase?

    Lessons Learned: Do not “Special Order” any product from La-Z-Boy. Read all information on the order agreement carefully. Do not assume that any problems will be handled to your satisfaction or at all. If there are any problems with an order and you notify store personnel, do not expect a return phone call from management to resolve the issue. You must pursue this relentlessly and even then it may take weeks (our case is a good example) to find some resolution. Any order for a couch or chair may not be as COMFORTABLE as the items you looked at in the store. Hopefully this information will prevent all who read this post from having the same experience described here. One last thing: The sales associate in the Greenville, SC store and the three people from the Chester, SC Customer Service department were very professional.

    Great folks to work with. They took the time to listen, provide input, and be generally helpful. The furniture is comfortable, sturdy, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. The only reasons for not giving five stars: it took a long time to get the order. That worked in my favor, though, as it allowed my credit card to cycle before the second half of the charges were applied to my account. The other thing is that the fabric doesn't smell pleasant. I would have expected maybe new car smell, which I love, but this is different. I guess it will go away. All in all, love the whole experience.

    Purchased two recliners at Greensboro La-Z-Boy since they were on sale and were comfortable. Once you use them past the three day return period you're out of luck and don't expect sympathy from the sales staff. Here's the problem. In order to recline, the mechanism is a crank system which is jerky, noisy and pushes you forward. When putting it in a down position, my dog almost went flying due to the jerking motion. These are the most awful recliners. I have to hold my neck when going down that's how jerky it is. Lazy boy is the worst company ever. As a senior I can't imagine spending many years in these recliners. I'm ready to throw them out. Don't buy from La-Z-Boy any recliners because they say they are all made with the CRANK. Buyer beware.

    Our family situation had changed and we needed an additional chair. We got our first La-Z-Boy three years ago and we were happy with it. In fact, I was looking to get another piece of furniture a month ago and I went there. Unfortunately, they don't sell mattresses and I wasn't able to get a mattress there. If I need to get another piece of furniture, they would be one of the first ones that we would check out. I'm very pleased.

    I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service and product I have received from La-Z-Boy. At the initial delivery of my power recliner in March I called the service department and told them of the defective recliner, making a loud squeaking noise when the legs were in use and put into the recline position. I was told to accept delivery and that a service technician would come out right away and fix it. However a technician was not available to be scheduled until weeks later into April. On this visit the technician reported the problem was in the leg rest and would need to be replaced, that it was probably never caught in the warehouse as no one may have sat in it to test it out. At this visit he told me he needed to order a replacement part in which I had to wait until I received it before I could schedule another technician to come and repair it.

    La-Z-Boy then told me there was a shortage of technicians and we would not be able to schedule until May 21st. I offered to even bring the defective chair in myself for a speedy repair but eventually was told that this was not an option by La-Z-Boy. On May 21st the technician replaced what was supposed to be the broken leg rest part but this did not alleviate the problem. He has now instructed me that a motor needs to be replaced and ordered first before another repair visit can be scheduled. This is now putting me into June with a defective brand new recliner since the beginning of March! I could have simply refused the recliner back in March and a new one could have been ordered and made in half the time it is taking for this one to be repaired. I ordered this recliner well in advance of giving birth to a baby in anticipation I would be using it every day and night in the nursery.

    Now I will be giving birth in June with a broken recliner still unusable, with no refund, discount or acknowledgment of my time off from work or inconvenience by La-Z-Boy! Every time you call customer service you are sent to a new person who simply says there is nothing they can!!! I have never experienced such poor customer service as I have from La-Z-Boy. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB if something is not done for my time and inconvenience!

    Sorry, I don't know our order number! We had a fantastic experience overall. Our sales woman was personable, spent time with us to help us make our decision. We purchased a queen sofa bed and it was delivered within a week. The delivery was quick and smooth. We're very happy with our sofa bed! The only thing we weren't pleased with is that we were told it would come with the same contrasting decorative pillows as we're on display (4 pillows total). But only the 2 pillows that were the same colour as the couch were delivered. The sales lady had told us she'd call to check how everything was but she didn't. We can't locate our order info so haven't gotten around to calling her about it since. I want to stress again that we are very very happy with the service we received and the product as well.

    I purchased the recliner from the La-Z-Boy store in Reno, NV. At the time I purchased the 85.00 extra leather treatment to protect my chair from fading, scratches, etc. My chair is now broken and the leather is worn and faded. The part that raises and lowers the leg rest is broken. It will barely raise and once it's raised it won't stay up. Also, the seat leather is faded and worn. The back is also faded. The seat cushion has broken down and is not nearly as comfortable as it should be. I took the chair into Reno to be repaired. The parts are covered, but I have to pay an additional 65.00 an hour to fix it. I showed them the leather and they said the protectant didn't have any warranty. Also if I wanted to fix the seat cushion, I'd have to buy a new cushion. I paid 1400.00 + for the chair.

    When I was buying the chair the salesman said it would last for 15 years or more. Now it hasn't even lasted 3 years. I could have bought a cheaper chair and it would be replaced in a few years. I thought that if I bought quality, that it would last. Now I've spent a lot of money and I have a broken faded chair that I have to pay to repair. I would like the repairs made without cost, the leather dyed or at least furnish me with the dye and the seat cushion replaced. I know my cats have scratched the back and don't expect that to be repaired. If this doesn't happen, I'm seriously considering starting a class action lawsuit. Judging by the number of complaints I've seen online, I would have no trouble getting interested parties.

    I don't know if your company can help with this. If not, perhaps you can let me know who to contact. I tried the La-Z-Boy site, but there was nowhere to email a complaint or problem. I don't want to call, because I'll get some low level person that couldn't help. I didn't think to take pictures, but it won't look any different when I get it back, so I can take them then.

    We ordered 2 custom wing chairs. When they were delivered we did notice a strong toxic smell. We called that evening as the smell became overwhelming and when I say in them I broke out in a rash/gives. We were told to move them to a other room and air them. Out we are in our 70's. We did that for a week and the smell is still there and when I sat in them again a rash/hives happened. I called again my 3x call as no one reached out to us. Their response is mmm well maybe they can come out June 9th and look at them a month from delivery. We have NEVER had a issue like this and yet we can get no help. We will have no choice but to pay to have them removed from our home for our own safety and health .

    This double power recliner is the worst thing I have ever purchased. The cushions collapsed after three months and again after three more months, you replaced the seat cushions twice, but after the third time you did nothing!!! It is really a piece of crap. A company with 2 billion in earning just want the money, doesn't care about customers. I have to use a pillow to keep from sinking so low it hurts my back. Will never buy another La-Z-Boy.

    On 4/26/16 I ordered an outdoor patio set made by La-Z-Boy, sold through Sears. I received the packages on a Friday afternoon and opened the following day on Saturday. The set has (8) tiles on the top. One was broken, due to poor placement in the shipping process of the legs to the table. I tried calling the phone # they give in their paperwork (BJI) and they are not open on weekends. I called again on Monday and spoke with an Amanda. She informed me that I would receive an email about how to handle getting a new one. Didn't hear anything tried calling back and was put on hold. Tried for several days to call and was always put on hold. I work full time, so couldn't wait long.

    Finally on 5/18, went online to Sears to make a complaint. They gave me a different # for BJI. Spoke with George who answered immediately and was extremely pleasant. After we spoke about this one tile that needed to be replaced... I told him thank you that Amanda who I spoke with over a week ago... never did anything. He looked up something and saw the order with her name. So, he took care of what the first person did NOT do. I had to send numerous pieces of information (really? just for one little tile) but I finally get an email response that they have "determined" that my set is still under warranty! (Really?) and that they would wait to find out when my one tile will be in the warehouse and notify me accordingly. If this situation is not cleared up by the weekend, I will be calling Sears to pick it all up and give me a refund.

    We order a sofa in Dec. 2015. We were told it would be here in 8 to 9 weeks. Checked in in March and was told that we were told wrong and our salesperson was no longer there. They said it would probably be around 12 weeks. Again waited and still no sofa. We have just been given the runaround and been told many lies. Finally in May we were told our sofa was going to be delivered May 11th. The day before we were left a message that it did not make the truck. I called and expressed my disappointment about this and this time a not so nice lady told me that these sofa take six months to come in. If I had been told this I would have not ordered it, and it seems to make matters worse they do not even seem to know where my sofa is.

    They have given me a new delivery date of Sat. But I called today and they are not sure if it is even in the warehouse. Again they said they would call somewhere to try and find my sofa, like that is going to happen as it has not yet. I was offered a burgundy sofa but if I wanted a burgundy sofa I would have ordered one. I want a brown sofa - NOW. I want my sofa now or my money back. I know there is three day to cancel a special order but in three days I did not know the extent of the lies I had been told. I will try to contact American Express because that is the company that we charged it to and see if they help to resolved this because we did not get the merchandise we paid for in a timely fashion. I will never buy anything here again.

    2 months ago, I contacted the Madison, WI store and requested new parts for my broken recliner. He told me they would have them in 2 weeks. Every time I called I was told to give them more time. It's now been 2 months and they say it's beyond their control. I am very angry that I am being strung along like this. It would be great to have a working reclining couch that I paid over $3,000.00 for!     We purchased 2 chairs in Esme Iron fabric. Spent over 2,000 on these chairs. Also ordered 2 pillows to match. These chairs are 4 months old. First rocker was delivered and the filling in the seat was so uneven that you sat uneven in the chair. Called and they sent out serviceman and he ordered a new seat cushion. In the meantime I noticed that the fabric was balling up where your legs hit the fabric on the rocker. Received the new seat part and within 2 weeks the fabric was doing the same. Now I noticed that the second chair that's probably been sat in 10 times if we're lucky is doing the same. There's a Year warranty on the fabric. I've bought furniture from Big lots that still looks like new after 5 yrs. This is totally unacceptable after paying over 2 grand for 2 chairs that they would wear like they are. No kids, just my husband and myself. This is ridiculous! Also the Mgr at the Ocoee store in Florida is very rude. Never returned my call.

    In March 2015 I purchased a reclining sofa with custom fabric. It is now May 2016. I am on sofa #3 and this sofa has been returned for a refund. This has been the worst customer experience that I have ever endured. It is disappointing and totally not what I expected from a company that has been around for as long as I can remember. The quality of the sofa is non-existent. Sofa #2 was so bad that even the local store manager said that it looked like it fell off a truck onto a freeway. Cushions unaligned; little to no foam causing rippling in the fabric; a hole in the fabric; fabric folded over at edges and not stitched. It's hard to believe this made its way out of the plant and delivered to a customer.

    Dealing with Customer Care is challenging to say the least. The process is very bureaucratic and not customer friendly. The tech that was sent out would set an expectation for repair with me, only to find out that he would tell Customer Care something completely different. There is no follow-up with the customer. In Feb 2016, I wrote Kurt Darrow, President, to never hear from his office. Only a form letter from Customer Care. So very disappointing. I have invested too much of my time trying to make this right. I am convinced it will never be right. The sofa is being picked up immediately, leaving my husband and I sitting on the floor. I will never do business with La-Z-Boy and will never recommend them. Sub-quality furniture is not what I expect when I have paid handsomely for a sofa.

    I have been buying from this store for over 20 years. This is the first time I bought since the store became a "corporate" store. While the quality of the furniture is excellent as usual and the sale prices are reasonable, there is absolutely no room for negotiating. Gone are the days of bargaining for the floor model, free delivery and throwing in inexpensive things like pillows. When the wife called back, she was told to come in and pick up her "12 piece BBQ set". It'll be interesting to see what that looks like. I wonder if I can get them to throw in a grill...     Purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner 4 years ago and now the material is peeling off of the chair. We called La-Z-Boy about fixing it and we were told it was out of warranty. This is poor workmanship and poor materials. La-Z-Boy should stand behind their product. This should not have to be a repair that is paid out of pocket.     We needed a recliner and since La-Z-Boy makes good recliners, we went with them. Their sales rep spent a lot of time with us, listened to what our needs were and did not try to upsell us. She did a nice job and didn't rush us. We were pleased because that's certainly not always the case when I buy something. At one point we were looking at doing an electronic chair, but its warranty is not as extensive compared with the mechanical one that has life warranty and based on what we needed, we got one without the electronics.

    My wife and I purchased a La-Z-Boy leather recliner and love seat for $4100 from Grand Home Furnishings, Roanoke, VA. The retail store is fantastic! They bend over backwards. What a great company. The product has been defective since day one and we have had three identical sofas and the core is defective on each one. La-Z-Boy only offers one year for manufacturing defects. So, bottom line, after one year you are STUCK with poor quality. So you can get 1 replacement sofa a month. On month 13, you own it without them ever truly fixing the defect. The foam core is not representative of what you would expect on this type of product.

    Now La-Z-Boy said that they would replace the core for $350 and give me a whopping 30 day warranty. And they will replace it with the SAME inferior quality foam core that has failed 3 times! Make sure you ask questions before purchasing a La-Z-Boy. Ask if the foam core is 26. Better yet, find a better manufacturer and save yourself some grief. Their Customer Service number is 866-425-4886. Get ready to be underwhelmed if you want great customer service.

    I got rid of the first La-Z-Boy recliner that I bought because it didn’t match my décor anymore. My husband was mad at me ever since for getting rid of his comfortable chair. He wanted another one. The sales rep at the showroom was great. She was very helpful. We were in the store for a couple of hours and there was a wide selection.     For two months now, my husband and I have been patiently waiting for La-Z-Boy to address the issues with our $4,157.90 La-Z-Boy Devon sectional sofa purchased on 05/09/14 and received on 6/27/14, to no avail. In approx 1.5 years, the fabric has broken down (a fabric which was relatively new from La-Z-Boy and, as told to us by the showroom, has had numerous complaints since); staples have and are coming out; and, both arms are separating away from the main frame. The sofa is an embarrassment when people enter our home. Photos provided. Please keep in mind there are only 3 individuals who live in this house - two adults and one 17 year old...not a house full of children jumping around and rough housing on the furniture. There are also two animals, an elderly dog and elderly cat, which were divulged to the salesman upon purchase and he assured us the fabric would hold up, as this was my main concern with the fabric purchased.

    Allegedly, everyone from the franchise where purchased (La-Z-Boy of Georgia Carolina) agrees that the sofa should be fixed (not at our expense) or we should be permitted to return/receive credit toward a new purchase. However they have relayed to us that La-Z-Boy "Corporate" does not agree stating everything should be fixed at our expense (even though this $4,157.90 product, which is supposed to have this exceptional warranty, broke down in less than 20 months). Now, prior to this sofa, we had one from Havertys. Havertys, who doesn't even hold themselves out to have an awesome warranty, stood behind their $2,000 sectional sofa, when it began to color fade after 2 years.

    They fully replaced the sofa, at their expense, and the replacement lasted 4 years. They actually stood behind their product and we did not have to go through the numerous emails, phone calls and even a trip to the showroom, like we have in this instance (and still with no resolution/end in sight). So, buyer beware ~ if you think you're paying twice as much at La-Z-Boy for their exceptional warranty, you may want to think again. Look at the math: Havertys $2,000 sectional sofa lasting a total of 6 years vs. La-Z-Boy $4,157.90 sectional sofa lasting a total of 20 months. Needless to say, my husband and I are extremely disappointed that La-Z-Boy is not standing behind its product, wherein the arms are separating from the frame, and that one of its representatives actually suggested that I defraud Ultra Shield to resolve the fabric breakdown, even though they have admitted that this new fabric has had numerous complaints.

    I purchased an Edon sofa and ottoman chair in early 2015. Within the first couple of months a hole in the fabric was discovered on the front of the sofa arm. This was in an area of no seam and no daily contact. I had purchased the comfort care warranty so I contacted them. They arranged for a technician to call and schedule a time to visit. I had to wait close to 2 months for the visit and then another 6 weeks for the repair. One year later all the fabric is pilling. I contacted customer comfort.

    The technician came out to evaluate the two pieces of furniture. He determined the fabric damage was due to the dogs in the house. Note that the chair which is the worse is the one I sit in daily. The pilling is showing in areas the dogs have no contact. So buyer beware... Their warranty is of no value and if there is damage to the fabric of your furniture it will be because you have dogs. The technician did indicate part of the problem could be because I have an afghan on the chair. I would recommend a sofa from a company that stands behind their products and owns up to quality issues.

    We purchased a rocker-recliner in September of 2013 for a little less than $600. About 2.5 years we are going to have to replace the chair because the padding in the seat has deteriorated so that it's extremely uncomfortable to use. It was also repaired once under warranty for mechanical issues and continues to make noise and not function correctly. La-Z-Boy Customer Care tells us it's only warranted for one year.     I purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner, but I had trouble with it and had to get an exchange. Their reps were very good. But their first two delivery guys didn’t put the backbone of my chair right and I had to have a technician come in and do that. The second ones that came and delivered the next chair were very nice. For the first bucket chair I got, I had to call to get comfort. The contractor for La-Z-Boy came and they saw that the padding was not sufficient and I would slide back down into the chair. They sent a padding but in the meantime, it was a horrible experience. They sent another bucket chair however, it was worse. It had creatures in the seat. I was really upset about that so I went into the store and told them about it. They were very apologetic and told me to go ahead and pick out a chair. La-Z-Boy was good about that.

    Received our sofa end of March 2016. Quality is very poor with areas where fabric puckers. The arms are not even round like the one in the showroom. Very poorly constructed. It has taken several weeks to get customer service to get an answer from their warranty department. They promise to call back and never do. Took me calling approximately 8 times to get someone to actually get back to me. They say they will fix some of the problems but don't think the flat arms on the sofa are an issue. It is very upsetting to spend so much for something and receive such a poor product. I don't have much confidence that they will be successful with repairs based on the caliber of the customer service rep that visited our home and the young reps I've been dealing with on the phone. They don't seem to have a clue. If they don't make it right I will tell everyone not to go there.

    We were particularly interested in a recliner and La-Z-Boy has a good reputation. I’ve had family members who’ve had La-Z-Boy recliners for many years, so that’s what attracted us to it. We recently bought a sofa and a loveseat and had scheduled the delivery. We worked directly with the store manager and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. However, we've had some issues and I’ve been surprised because I didn’t expect to have any problems at all. First of all, we paid for and ordered specific handles. They gave us the wrong handles and had them put on incorrectly. So the loveseat had a long handle in one color and the couch had a short handle in a different color. I called the store immediately and a replacement piece was sent out. The store manager came to our house and switched them out for us.

    We’ve also noticed some other quality issues. In fact, we’re scheduling a furniture repair shop to come out because the construction is not as good as I expected. We got leather couches and in lots of places, there’s too much fabric fare. It’s not taut in a lot of places. It’s sloppily done and there’s freed stitching. I was sitting on it the other day and I moved back and it seemed like the whole thing moves with me which was not supposed to happen. We spent thousands of dollars on them and I’m hoping that this furniture person can help fix some of those issues.

    La-Z-Boy had the furniture that I liked so I bought it and was told me it would be about six weeks until my furniture was ready. I put half down when I ordered it and was told the other half was due on delivery. At seven weeks I hadn't heard from anybody yet. I was getting a little anxious so I called the store and asked about the status of the order. The lady rep said, "It’s been ready for a while. But you have to pay us before we can deliver.” I didn’t have any idea it was ready and I thought I would pay it when they deliver.     I purchased a new memory foam recliner about a year ago. I had issues shortly after with the leg rest where the memory foam was separating from the seat. Called it in and tech came out and ordered a replacement part. After several weeks it arrived and was installed. About 6 week later the new replacement section was doing the same thing. Tech came out and said the chair should be replaced as he had other customers having the same issue. However the part was replaced again.

    It has been about 5 weeks and guess what, the same thing is happening. I do like the memory foam but this is clearly a design defect and La-Z-Boy is not willing to admit that and replace the total chair with a different model. The store I bought it from is not helpful and the support team you call just says they will have a tech come out. Again I have had and believed in this line of products for 40 years but I am now questioning my loyalty. All I want is to be a satisfied customer again.

    We bought our chairs in July 2015 and got them in September. A quality recliner was very important to me as I had just undergone complete knee replacement and needed a chair to get comfortable while elevating my leg. It's unconscionable that a reputable company like La-Z-Boy could produce such a disastrous mess of a chair.

    After 3 months of use the chair's back and frame is broken (will not return to the upright position). The springs and all the inner workings need replacement, and a new bottom cushion is needed. I'm still recuperating, but at this time have no chair to help with the swelling and pain. Repairman said it would be 6-8 weeks to get the parts. I tried calling the customer service numbers to explain that I desperately need a chair, but each time I'm put on hold and the connection is eventually broken. This has happened approximately 5 or 6 times and I've all but given up. It's clear that I'm a burden and their mission is to deflect, not solve.

    Ordered furniture in January (Couch, Love Seat, 2 Recliners). Salesperson was unknowledgeable and after the order was placed very dismissive. We have since received the couch and love seat. The love seat was delivered with the wrong pillows. The correct pillows have still not arrived. We still have not received the recliners and no one seems to be able to tell me where they are. The General Manager was supposed to call me twice this week and has failed to do so. Still waiting. The local store has refused to allow us to cancel the order two months ago. We were told we could not even though the fabric had not arrived. Our plan now is to refuse any delivery in the future and we will recover the $500 we have already paid in small claim court. We will never use La-Z-Boy again. AWFUL customer service and we will make sure that we advise people not to shop in Fort Myers at the store.

    In March 2013 we received our new leather La-Z-Boy sofa and love seat - three years later I am wishing I had never entered their store. The finish of the leather is wearing off in several areas - places where one rests their arms or head. This is just day to day usage - surely leather furniture should last longer than 3 years. Of course it does. I have other pieces of leather furniture that has stood the test of time for more than 18 years with much more usage. When we contacted La-Z-Boy they only could say they have a one year warranty. When you shop in their store they are very helpful and encouraging - yes the furniture is good quality - not so and they do not stand behind their products. I will never buy La-Z-Boy again and will encourage others not to make the same mistake we did.

    I ordered a Tribeca sectional just over a year ago (might have to look under my husband David **). We loved the couch. It was so perfect and the fabric was just the right color and texture for our new home. I had them come out about 6 months after we purchased it because the fabric was pilling so bad. He agreed it was BAD, but said it was normal with most fabrics. There were also several loops that had pulled through. He went to his truck and brought in a stick, and showed me how to repair loop pulls as they happen, and then showed me a sweater shaver from his truck, and told me I would have to use this on the fabric for the first 2 years until the fabric settled in.

    Well I have spent HOURS upon HOURS trying to get the pilling under control, and to be honest I don't think it's possible. I have had comments made like "Isn't this a new couch? You should call. This is really bad." HOW EMBARRASSING. My mom worked at Ethan Allen for years, and said this would NEVER fly. Yet when your guy came out he said, "It is what it is."

    SO, I kept pilling every time we would have company over. It has turned into what I do while watching TV in the evenings...seriously. After about the 6th person commented on my couch, I reached back out to the store, asking for them to simply redo the upholstery on the couch, and we would happily pay the difference in fabric cost if there was one. (We picked a Level C counting on quality initially.) They weren't interested in that and instead offered us 50% the cost of the original couch toward a new couch. BUT we started talking leather, worried to have the same problem, and the Tribeca doesn't come in leather.

    SO, we looked at the structure. The ONLY modern lined sectional available in leather, which in the same configuration we currently have is $12,000...ouch. So between that full retail cost, and already paying for a couch I feel really taken advantage of when you simply should be replacing a shoddy fabric. I tried taking the measures they laid out to care for the fabric but it just isn't working. No one else would be taking the time I have to maintain this fabric.

    I have invited the manager to my home, offered to bring in a pillow or two to show them, but they aren't interested in seeing just how poor of quality this fabric is. I would have been WAY better off buying a cheap couch but having just built my home wanted to put nicer pieces in it. Disappointed to find out that La-Z-Boy doesn't stand behind the quality they so preach about in the sales process.

Our warranty covered the repairs so the local store sent out a repair man. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to make any repairs at the time and placed an order for the parts. Several boxes were shipped to our house and the store sent out a different repair man to complete the repairs. I was very disappointed to learn the first repair person didn't order all the padding for the two armless chairs. The second guy was very nice and said it wasn't a problem he would place another order for the padding and just to call and make another appointment once the order arrives at our house.

    Today I received a call from La-Z-Boy in Monroe, MI informing me of the cost for the padding. The customer service representative said our sectional is no longer under warranty. It's not my fault the first guy didn't order the correct amount of padding to complete the job. My husband and I trusted him and just assumed he order everything necessary to repair our furniture. I expect a company like La-Z-Boy to honor our warranty and complete the repairs.

    Most interactions with the La-Z-Boy rep were better than good, but she was not always responsive and she’d forget some things. We ordered a swatch of the fabric so my wife could go forward with her paint and carpet plans, and we had to chase that around for a couple of weeks before we finally got them. Once they were ordered, they got here in a hurry. That was fine, but she was supposed to forward a couple of those items afterwards and she did not. The overall experience of getting the stuff ordered and selecting was fine. Some of the follow-up plans just need a little bit of work.

    Ever since I've been using my La-Z-Boy power recliner, I've been experiencing problems with my neck and spine. The chair is about five months old and I am a 5'10 male about 180 lbs. Specifically, the head rest is too big and pushes my head forward at the unreclaimed state. Reclining the chair barely alleviates the uncomfortable position of my head/neck. My head is being pushed forward and the headrest is not adjustable. I have developed a pinched nerve in my shoulder that my doctor believes is caused by a compression of two disks in my neck. I've never had a pinched nerve so the chair may have caused it.

    Second, the power lumbar support is situated in the center of my back. Ergonomically it should positioned to the lower back (lumbar region). Because it's smack dab in the center of my spine, actuating it is very uncomfortable! I believe this is a design flaw. The recliner was a custom order because I ordered the foam upgrade which provided a firmer seat cushion. Because it was a custom order, La-Z-Boy indicated it could not be returned! Beware before buying.

    We looked at all the different stores. We wanted some furniture of quality that was going to last for a while. We ended up buying a sofa loveseat, couch, and two chairs from La-Z-Boy. The sales representative I had was amazing and beyond wonderful. Delivery was incomplete at first but they made it right. They delivered the wrong chair, and took about a week later to actually get the complete set. Also, the little straight piece that pulled out from one of our side tables was broken but the La-Z-Boy team found another one and replaced it quickly.

    Customer service is great, but I’m curious now how they’re going to handle the cushion which is already sagging from my couch. I find this very surprising because we paid a lot of money for the furniture. I already have to pull up the cushion so it doesn’t sag on one side.

    Within 2 hours of having our 4 piece sectional delivered on April 21 I went to the store in La Mesa, CA to complain about the poor quality and workmanship of the sofa. The seat cushions did not line up. The seats were too short. The backs of the sectionals did not line up. There are 2 and 3 inch gaps in the back. These are visible because the sofa is used as a room divider and visible at all times. The backs are not in a straight line. And it looks like two of the four pieces were from a different die lot. We have called almost every day and have not received any satisfaction. We keep being told that someone will contact us. We are still waiting. We want the pieces taken away and our money refunded.

    When I bought my new Pinnacle recliner from La-Z-Boy McDonough in September, it has been NOTHING but trouble. It has always scrubbed, screaked, and just not been exactly right. It's like I got a second-hand chair. Then, the left arm broke and I've been trying ever since to get this chair usable again. The technician, James, didn't have the first clue what he was doing and, while replacing the left arm of my chair, drilled holes WAY TOO BIG in one of the wooden boards. Now, the chair tilts to the left rendering it completely unusable.

    I sat in this chair with it like this for at least 2 weeks before they could send out another technician to find the mess the first one made while replacing the left arm. He came out twice, then James came back to return the back of the chair after it was damaged while sitting in it while waiting for the board replacement. I mentioned then to customer service over the phone EVERYTHING that was going on before they even sent Mr. ** out to see what mess James had made and NOTHING ELSE was done but replacing that board and fixing the back. The chair STILL tilts to the left.

    I believe I called customer service AGAIN on April 22nd. The man I spoke with then said he wanted to have my chair picked up and brought into the shop and told me "I can assure you it will be right after we've had it back in the shop." YEAH RIGHT! So the chair was picked up on April 26th and I get a phone call and I get a call 4 days later stating the chair will be delivered to me on May 3rd. WHAT? REALLY? Was it even looked at?

    So the guys just delivered my chair and I went in there before they left to have a look and there's no change. It's still tilting to the left and gosh knows what else is wrong with this chair. I had them take it back but I'm not holding my breath thinking they might possibly get it fixed. At this point, I want to start all over with a NEW chair and see if I can actually enjoy what I paid for!

    I bought a couch and loveseat in April 2015 and they are beautiful, except within 6 months, the cushion in the loveseat broke down. Called in October, whole loveseat was picked up Jan. 15, 2016 and was without it for 2 weeks. It has broken down again and I am really wondering if it is going to be an ongoing problem. I am also concerned about the couch cushions though it is not used as much.     We paid a high price expecting quality from highly regarded brand. A week after our purchase, a passing comment from a co-worker said the furniture is not good. I asked why, the answer was that his mother worked for them and looked after complaints. About a year later our couch became structurally unsound. The ends moved. We avoided putting pressure on them. We didn't attempt a warranty claim because it was over a year. It's now 5 years. The sofa belongs in a trash heap. The sofa did not receive extraordinary use. One of the foot rests are threadbare now. The furniture is pure crap and every time I pass their store at Scarborough Town Center I complain to my companions. Brooke Shields is a cheap shill.

    I bought two new La-Z-Boy recliners from Classic Home Furnishings in Oxford, Alabama in January, 2016. They had to order them to have two in matching fabric, so I actually got the recliners into my home around mid-February. I was so excited to finally replace my old chairs, but shortly after the new chairs arrived, I started breaking out in a rash. Since then, I have sought medical treatment for this horrible itchy rash five times. Most recently, I went to a dermatologist who did a biopsy and diagnosed it as allergic contact dermatitis. Because the only change in my environment was the purchase of the chairs, she advised me to stay off of the chairs completely. I just found out today, and I am devastated. I can't afford to go out and buy another set of chairs, and I can't sit in the ones I've got.

    Now, I started looking online and I'm discovering that this is not an isolated incident, and that others have had similar experiences, because of a chemical used in the fabric or in the shipping of the furniture. I am wondering if there is some treatment or deep cleaning of the upholstery that can be done to help resolve this issue, because as I said, I can't just go out and buy more furniture. I hope to hear back from La-Z-Boy about possible solutions to this issue.

    We've been looking around and the sofas that I liked were at La-Z-Boy, so I bought two sofas, two love seats, and two recliners from them. Their sales reps were very good and very helpful. The delivery crew was awesome, professional, and conscientious about wrapping things nicely. And, the quality of their furniture was good. Furthermore, dealing with their people was nice. The initial designer I was working with wasn't there so the designer who worked with me was really helpful. She showed me some other options and she helped me find fabrics even though they might not be the same color, but the fabrics that were in the store on different pieces of furniture, she knew right where to go and it was good because that helped me make my final decision.

Delivery guys put it back on the truck and another one was delivered within a couple of weeks.     We purchased the Spectator Group of furniture on November 1, 2013. We were assured that their renew fabric was superior to leather. They claimed it was more durable. Well, 2 1/5 years later, the skin that is like the cover on the fabric is peeling off in chunks. Of course the warranty had expired. We were told they no longer have that particular fabric because they change them every three years. So, we can't even get it repaired at our own expense with the same, not very quality fabric. Right now it's just the back of one chair. This set cost $6500. We've been sent to an independent upholstery shop. He informed us that he used to carry this particular type of material but has since stopped carrying it due to all of the problems with this product. Don't waste your money!

    We had the design appointment with Danielle, and she came out to the house and brought fabrics. We had a wonderful experience with her picking out everything we wanted. The design meeting in the store was also really good. We had been in the store a couple times and were having trouble making a decision. Then they said that was a complimentary service and it really helped. We have gotten the chair delivered three times, but it had a defect every time. So we're waiting on the fourth chair to come but the problem was finally discovered. All the chairs had the same issue and they were pulled off the floor, and La-Z-Boy was able to compensate us. So we are pleased with that. We did get frustrated and it continued to inconvenience us with delivery dates and such, but everyone in the store was wonderful.

    I bought 2 recliners from La-Z-Boy and in less than 2 years the leather is fading. Contacted La-Z-Boy and all they can say "it's no longer under warranty". I also bought the extended warranty. Bottom line don't buy from La-Z-Boy. They don't back their products.

    HELP!!! My new recliner is a BACKBREAKER. My back started hurting me on the second day I got it. I thought maybe it needed to be used a little to break it in. On day 7 after I received my new recliner I went to my Doctor for my back pain. I sat in the chair for 3 more days thinking the chair would conform to my body. I was wrong.

    Comfort Care came out and adjusted the stuffing in the back of the chair. I tried it but it didn't help. My back started hurting again. My living room is full of La-Z-Boy furniture. I have a loveseat, couch & 3 recliners. It all reclines & none of the other furniture give me any back problems. Comfort Care is supposed to come out here this Saturday. The first guy that came out acted like he wasn't sure what to do about it. I hope the guy that comes out Saturday can help. So now I sit in my 10 year old La-Z-Boy recliner & just look at my new chair. I am still hopeful that this will be resolved. My La-Z-Boy furniture I have bought in the past has been good. Not sure why I am having such problems with this purchase.

    For several weeks I have tried to get my sofa delivered. After paying $99 to get my furniture delivered, La-Z-Boy wants me to miss another $60 out of my paycheck because they won't deliver after I get off work. I'm expected to leave work, so they can make delivery? You drop 2 grand and then have to cater to the supplier? What happened to customer first?

    The Sinclair couch and chaise has back cushions that are not attached to the couch and over time they have become misshaped and depressed. At the time of purchase I specifically asked if the back cushion maintain their shape. The saleslady said they were constructed in a way that they would maintain their shape. Over the years we have tried fluffing the back cushions to regain their original shape. Fluffing doesn't do much and certainly doesn't make a lasting change.

    I thought we were buying a quality product with the La-Z-Boy name and price but they will not stand behind their product. When asked if I could submit the cushions to La-Z-Boy to be fixed I was told that they don't do that. Customer service offered to see if the cushions were still made for purchase. I declined to put more money into a product that would fail again in a short time. I was told that because of the cushion contents fluffing is regular required maintenance for the cushions. We were not informed at the time of purchase that this was a required maintenance or how often it was required. After paying $2,192 for a couch that looks frumpy in less than 3 years I won't be buying another La-Z-Boy.
