Our furniture is just now a year old. It looks 20 years old. The fabric on the sofa, chair and even the pillows are saggy and balled. When you sit on the cushions you sink. The chair arrived and the cushion did not fit correctly and the seams were uneven. Their solution was to cut down the foam cushion, which only made it look worse. Finally after a year of complaining they order new foam, which arrived last week. I called in December. The customer service representative told me all the furniture is made overseas and the cushion would need to be shipped. She also said if I wanted quality furniture, I should have went somewhere else. Wish I had. Quality it is so good, it will last a lifetime. Maybe if you are already 100. I am already embarrassed to have company over.

One piece of advice when working with the sales team at this store - do not allow them to convince you of paying a certain price upfront with the promise of a credit after delivery. They label these gimmicks as different "sales" at different times. My "sale" was the "2 or 20 Promotion." Essentially, I was supposed to get 20% off of the most expensive item on my order. I was skeptical to say the least but I went with it because at the end of the day, $200 isn't going to break the bank. A week after delivery I received a call from the manager. She left a message that my card would be credited $64. Shame on you Kane's. You will not see me in another one of your stores. Here is a copy of the email I sent to my salesman, and never received a response about:
"I don’t believe it is good business to intentionally mislead a customer. I was told, and not just once or twice, that this purchase (of nearly $5K) was eligible for a 20% discount on the most expensive item. If you recall our interaction that day, I don’t need to tell you how skeptical I was that this wasn’t a discount being applied at the time of purchase, but was to be credited at some mysterious future time, after delivery. Apparently I had every right to be skeptical because now I find out that I’m essentially being nickel and dimed out of $136. If the discount was to be $64, that is the amount that should have been communicated, not $200. This is not how a reputable company does business. I would appreciate if you communicate this information to your manager."

After shopping for an hour my wife and I settled on a dining table with four chairs and four extra chairs. The total before taxes and delivery came to $999.95. I laughed that we missed the $1000 total to get 5% ($50) off by 5 cents. They would not give the 5% off. I thought they were kidding. I said to raise the price 5 cents. The delivery alone was another $119! They said no and asked that we keep shopping. My wife was in tears, no manager would speak to us, and out of principle we left. 5 cents! Later the manager called to explain that all sales have necessary parameters. Right. He never had the nerve to talk to me while I was in the store. Looked like a nice set but now I don't trust the whole operation.

I purchase over $2,000 in furniture from Kanes. The Chaise was a little bit broken and it was too big for my living room. I'm going thru hell because they have a no exchange no return policy which they don't disclose to you when you are making your purchase. I would have thought about every item purchase twice if I knew this. I just want them to pick it up and just give me credit so I can get something else. Why is something so simple so difficult?

Maybe the state can finally give all of us some help with Kane's not wanting to help us with all our issues. Written by one of many people who have been ripped off by Kane's furniture and good luck. While I am trying to resolve the bonded leather peeling situation with KANE'S furniture, I decided to check BBB and was shocked to see all the similar complaints on bonded leather. I don't have much hope of a successful result. After placing calls for three days and not getting a callback, I'm afraid I'm going to be as disappointed as you all!!!

Having purchased Kane's living room furniture items more than a decade ago and having a positive experience, in Dec 2014 we purchased a "Piper" Sofa & Loveseat with the suggested chair/ottoman set. Delivery was 3 December 2015. We are seasonal users without children, pets or smokers. In short order, structure failure in the spring resilience became obvious typically with men sinking into a proverbial "seatwell". The seat cushions consistently slip forward and after each use and needed position adjustment. The design of the back cushions of both sofa & loveseat constantly produced shape distortion with a most untidy appearance. The seat cushions as shipped were oversized by several inches and would overhang the front vertical surfaces when fully pushed back.
When we sought "Lifetime Warranty" address and willingness to pay for a upgrade, an adjuster was sent to review our complaint - thus began a "Kabuki Theater" process deserving of an Oscar for Excellence in "farce". A genuine charade in which it was acknowledged "that's what you get at that price point". No willingness to try help achieve reasonable customer satisfaction with some form of adjustment. Fortunately, we paid by credit card and will seek some recourse.

I am (was from now on) a customer for more than 15 years. I called Customer service to find out if there is any way to fix one of the legs in my sofa (Kathy Ireland Home Collection) and after a long waiting I heard in the background a very agitated woman saying (with tone of voice) I didn't have any warranty since that was purchased in 2007. I told the person on the phone that I was willing to pay for the service and the woman in the background (raising her voice again) said, "We don't do that her!!" Even though they are offering now a life-time warranty, Kane's Furniture WON'T BE MY FAVORITE PLACE anymore.

Bought a dining room table and chairs in October 2015. Table had irremovable stains on surface before I made the first payment. Company tech came out to look and took pictures. They said the stains were water stains when they were clearly not. None of them are circular in nature. The stains are from food that spilled on the table during normal meal time routines. The table was cleaned with a damp dish cloth within 15 minutes after finishing our meal. The finish is junk. I went to the store and spoke to the manager and he said if I did not like it I could sell it on Craigslist. Complete **. I have also called corporate customer service and left 3 consecutive messages for Shannon **. It took her 3 days to get back to me and she never answers her phone. Company is a joke and will make any excuse necessary not to stand behind their product.

Bought some furniture little more than a year ago including a couch and a love seat. Now the couch bonded leather on the right side of the headrest is peeling on a spot where no one ever touches. The headrest pillow is bobbling and the stitches on the center pillow are coming lose. I called few times the customer service manager at the corporate office, left a message as per her instructions and she never call back. According to their ads, the furniture is so good that is guaranteed for life (BS).
Since the corporate office never called, I called the store where we bought it. They ask me to email them some photo and they will contact the corporate office. As of today, no one call me and the way I see it, the customer service is terrible. It looks like once they got paid if any problems become your problems. Unfortunately, this is only way customer can fight back by posting reviews. I wish I would have read reviews before going to KANE'S. Stay away from their stores.

If you are thinking of buying anything from Kane's Furniture, run, run like heck! Do not listen or believe them when they tell you about their lifetime guarantee and then try to sell you additional guarantees for more money! I purchased $8000 of furniture from Kane's Furniture. Part of that was a couch and loveseat of bonded leather. I have owned other leather couches before, but when I questioned a Kane's representative about bonded leather, I was told how strong and durable it was and not to worry. Besides Kane's has a lifetime warranty. I do not have children and my furniture is very lightly used. I noticed a bubbling of the leather and it was separating from its backing. The separation is only getting worse.
When I called the store, sent photos as requested, they called me and told me that they were going to have the cushion replaced and that it would be ordered from the manufacturer. They were doing this for me as a favor because guess what? This is not covered in their lifetime guarantee! Well 9 months later I get a call from another Kane's Furniture representative and she apologizes for the delay and informs me that they stopped carrying bonded leather furniture and that the defects in my couch and NOW my loveseat will only get worse. So, she proposes that I send more photos and she will try to get a buy back for me and/or credit to purchase something else.
Three weeks later I get a call and the Kane's Furniture representative tells me my claim has been denied! I thought Kane's Furniture was a reputable company, that they would stand behind their product. It is their responsibility to their customers and reputation. But when I see a lot of complaints about Kane's, not only on the bonded leather but other quality problems too, I know Kane's does not care about their customers, reputation and quality! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
UPDATED ON 02/12/2016: I have a previous complaint that was published. I had some hope from Kane's because at least they responded to my complaint. A letter was sent to me from their corporate office denying my claim. The general manager spoke with me a couple of times over the telephone. She did her best to resolve my issues with the bonded leather sofa and loveseat I purchased from them. Unfortunately, corporate said "no" and denied my claim again.
Bottom line: Kane's Furniture is suing their American manufacturer and Kanes is resolving the customer complaints who purchased American made furniture. BUT, if their manufacturer was from China, (as my furniture was) they are NOT honoring any complaints or working on resolving any of my issues. I told Kane's that I don't care which manufacturer they chose to purchase from. The quality is their issue. Isn't that what they advertise?? I purchased from Kane's because Kane's (so I thought) was a reputable company and would stand behind their product. They know the bonded leather is defective, but because Kane's does not have any recourse with their Chinese manufacturer, WE the consumers are paying the price!
Do not buy from Kane's Furniture because they advertise quality, but they do not stand behind the product they sell. For 13 years I have been a real estate agent. I work with many clients that are new to the Florida area and they ask me who would I recommend to purchase furniture from. I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING KANE'S FURNITURE. As a matter of fact, I will tell them to stay away, don't believe their advertisements and tell all their new neighbors and friends too!

We contacted Kane's at the Brandon location back in 11-10-15 about our loveseat. At the time, we referred to the loveseat as a "couch". We should have just said loveseat. The pictures we sent are of only the loveseat. At the time we purchased the loveseat, we also bought two couches. We purchased the items back in 07-26-13. At that time we also purchased several other pieces of high dollar furniture.
I spoke with Azza from the Orlando office on 01-12-16. She offered us $700.00 for the loveseat and one couch. She said that we would only be offered $350.00 for the loveseat. I think that your offer is very cheap, greedy, and insulting. According to Azza, we paid $1614.80 for the loveseat and one couch. In addition, we paid $678.99 for the other couch. That is a lot of money to us. We would not have purchased the furniture from Kane's if we had known the "Quality so good, it's guaranteed for life" warranty did not cover the leather on the items we purchased. We were told that what we purchased was full grain leather all over the couch. We were not told that the back and sides were made out of vinyl. We found this out when we called the store in November. If we had been told the truth, we never would have purchased the so called all leather items.
We usually sit on the loveseat for 30 minutes a day. We rarely use the couches. We, the two of us, live alone and take good care of our furniture. We purchased in FULL! Yes, we paid in full and good faith. Most people would think that Kane's as the seller would want to make this right!!! We are afraid our two couches will begin to peel like the loveseat has begun to peel. Like cheap vinyl or bonded leather is known to peel. For example, the lawsuit Kane's has against Southern Motion -- Kane's is suing them because they manufactured cheap bonded leather furniture they sold to your company. Why should customers have to pay for Kane's mistake of dealing with a poor quality manufacturer.
We were misled by the salesperson not to buy Bonded leather as it tends to peel. As a result, we purchased what he told us was top grade leather, without cheap fillers. Therefore, I want a full refund of the three items we purchased. You apparently don't care about your reputation. The news will be spread throughout the Brandon Public as to what they can expect if they Purchase from Kane's. Many will be outraged that a Senior Military customer, in this Military township, was deceived in this way.

Purchased a leather and leather bonded loveseat and sofa from Kanes in Sarasota 3 years ago. The bonding is disintegrating. Areas that we were told is real leather are disintegrating. I called the office at least 3 times and was never contacted. Finally went to shop and talked with receptionist who never returned phone calls. Said she was "she was Busy". Talked with manager armed with my leather guarantee and Lifetime Warranty. He said this was an ongoing problem with the manufacturer in China and the warranty didn't cover the bonding. Nor did the Lifetime Warranty.
Pictures were taken and we haven't heard a thing from them. The unbelievable thing about this is that my son in Lakeland is having the same problem with his furniture. They offered him a $700 credit to use in their store. Of course he said no. This is unacceptable. After spending $2000 and $200 for a guarantee $700 doesn't cut it. My next step will be to go to the paper, the BBB, and possibly small claims court.

My wife and I shopped for a sectional sofa. Picked one out and wanted to negotiate just a bit not asking anything off on the price. Just try to negotiate a complimentary delivery coupon they give out each month. Was told prior each store is given 3 free delivery coupons to be given out each month to consumers. Talked to manager and really wanted to make a deal. Said I would not need to deliver this month next month is fine. And asked for delivery. He firmly said no. It's on sale and I should be satisfied with that.
I told him we bought a lot of furniture from them in the past and had some problems but came back and I would like to negotiate some off shipping. They didn't care and were cold. They refused to even negotiate $5. It's like if you bought in past that means nothing. He was cold rude and in your face attitude that I should be happy to buy there. Can't waste a delivery coupon to a loyal buyer. Well I'm not a Kane's customer anymore. If you want to negotiate don't bother with Kane's of New Port Richey. After reading all the other complaints here I'm sort of happy I didn't buy now. Blessing in disguise.

I always thought that when you had a problem and you went back to the store and you ask for the store manager he would come to try and help you. Believe me this does not happen. First of all, you got to get through the offices manager first. And this lady act like there is no way you will get through her. She has all the tricks to keep you from seeing him. Last June 2015 my son-in-law, Richard ** gave us Wyatt Sofa and Love seat as a gift. Right after the delivery we notice that one of the manual recliner don't work properly. The sofa have 2 manual recliner and the love seat have 2 power recliner. I notify the company and they immediately sent a technician who told us that he needs some parts to repair it. They will send me the parts and I'll have to notify the store where we bought it and they will send us a technician who will install it. But after some follow ups and inquires we're still waiting our sofa to be fix. The last time I called them I ask if they can just replace my sofa with power recliner and the customer service told me that somebody will call but nobody call me back. I'm happy with my sofa and love seat minus the manual recliner. I'll give a follow-up review when we settle this.

He ordered 2 more lamps from the warehouse and delivered them personally to my home.
Original Review: Jan. 6, 2016
We went in to Kane's in Port Charlotte, FL to look at leather furniture sets. We found a set we liked, the color we liked and even the entire look down to end tables and lamps. When we attempted to use their interest free option, we were told there was a waiting list for the power recliner in teal blue and that the ones paid for would be receiving first. Since interest free was not considered "Paid" we would wait after everyone else, we put the entire set on a credit card. We requested it all be delivered at the same time. It arrived in 4 separate deliveries, with the power recliner being last. After repeated calls we learned that the entire set was a discontinued item (never told us this) and that the teal blue was not available. We asked about off white, waiting list too long. We are now into 2.5 months of waiting at this point. I asked about the floor model, it was available but they would not honor the warranty as it was a floor model.
I contacted the home office and advised that we would never - NEVER - shop there again. I was contacted by a manager who said we could get the floor model and have the warranty as well- when I asked about delivery, I was told it was a floor model and it did not qualify under the delivery we had previously paid! I stated, "this is wrong - you have basically mislead us from the beginning and now you offer up poor customer service?" We had to pay a delivery and Kane's was to credit my husband's credit card $50 for the fees. He called monthly for 4 months until it finally appeared. It was one excuse after another with this company.
Now, less than a year later one of the lamps does not work. It has some sort of short in it. We contacted our local Kane's and were advised they did not cover "furnishings" such as lamps or fixtures. If they had told us this in the beginning, I would have gone elsewhere to get my lamps. We paid $69.99 each and now one is useless.

I purchased a couch and loveseat. It was suppose to be a lifetime warranty. The leather material started peeling from the fabric it was stuck to within a couple of weeks of owning the furniture. NO one had been sitting on it. I have had the areas of peeling replaced in several areas and had to pay for some of the replacement parts. Some of the replacement parts don't peel however the rest of the furniture just keeps peeling and leaving particles of leather on people's clothes. Kane's Furniture has refused to replace the furniture. They lied about the manufacturer having more material the furniture was made from. I called the manufacturer and they told me the had the material and could make more parts. I had to approach the manager about the lie and had to pay for the parts. I would not buy anything from Kane's again. Buyer beware.

Visit the store on a Friday (Nov 13, 2015). Purchased several pieces of furniture (Living room set, two bedroom sets and a Dinning room set. On Saturday (next morning / NOV 14), I contacted the salesman to cancel one bedroom set. He indicated that he will process the cancellation immediately. The following week, the delivery truck shows up at my house with all my furniture. The canceled bedroom set was in the truck for delivery (NEVER Canceled). I had an argument with the delivery people because they wanted me to accept the furniture. In fact, they were so upset that they wrote a note on the delivery papers for their supervisor. The salesman NEVER canceled the bedroom set. I called the store and they apologized and indicated that it will be taken care of.
A month later the credit was never issued. I contacted a store manager (office manager) and complained about my situation. She apologized and indicated that she will bring this situation to upper management. Nothing happened and never got a call. A week later I had to contact my credit card company to put a stop to the payment. Additionally, one of the sofas was on back order (charged). Over one month has gone by and no delivery yet nor a phone call for update. These people will lie to you, will not follow up, nor care about you and do not response. The quality of the furniture is terrible. All their furniture comes from China. The love seat cup holders silver trim started to fade within two days. I called them and sent them pictures. They said they will contact the manufacturer. The expectant delivery of the two cup holders 8 to 10 weeks. This is absurd, to say the least. Once they make the sale, you are on your own!
Yesterday, I called KANE'S office manager @ 3:35 PM. l was told that she was on the phone and as soon as she gets off they will have her call me immediately. They asked me; what is the call about... I said regarding a backup order. Four hours later, I called the store again to speak to the Office manager. I was told that she was gone for the day. I could not believe it! More lies. These people are crazy. They act like they are the owners of the business and do not give a hoot about their clients.
I canceled my backup order. I will see if it will happen or not. I have no way to check for the cancelation unless I call later to verify. This is the worse experience ever buying furniture! Do not pay attention to their slogans or the recording message on the phone while you wait for someone to pick up. It is a joke. Without clients, they will not be in business long. The word will be spread out and hopefully, they will either learn the lesson or go out of business. Stay away from KANE's furniture!!

Another issue was in that we were adamant that we purchase American Made Leather Furniture. The Sales Representative stated that this furniture was built in the USA. The warehouse staff, when replacing one section of the sofa laughed, stating that this furniture was made in China. With regard to the Lifetime Warranty, it has restrictions and is valid for 7 years as a legal definition. Definitely Kane's has lost a customer for life. In September of 2013, we went to Kane's because they offer lifetime warranty on items such as sectional, therefore we figured that the price was good – a furniture store would not offer lifetime warranty for poor quality items. Well... in 1 and 5 months the springs on this sectional started to make the cushions extremely uncomfortable. At the end of July of 2015 we contacted the store several times in regards this matter, finally a tech was scheduled to come out. The gentleman condemned at least couple cushions. Since that day I have been promised a delivery of new cushions, of course that did not happen. Since then I have spoken to the store manager several times, which by the way it's a lie when they tell you that you'll get a call back.
Every time we speak no one can give a straight answer, or solve my problem. Let me make clear that I have no children or visitors in the house. My household is made of 2 working adults. A BBB complain against them was opened last week, and this Thursday I will be filing a small claim with the Court House. LIFETIME WARRANTY IS A SCAM. Check all the reviews. I purchased a love and sofa set from Kane's a few years back on the promise that they warranty all of their merchandise. We have had our love seat material fall peel three times and each time they send someone out to refinish it but it doesn't last for long. The last time we called they said the company that sold the sofa we purchase has gone out of business and Kane could not warranty the product any longer. So I spent over $1500 on a false pretense they would warranty their product for life; not so much. It took them one year for them to finally have someone to contact me back about latest issues with the love seat and their response is they would give us 30 percent to purchase a new sofa.
For real I would not purchase lint on the floor at Kane's because they probably would not cover it after they sold it. All this to say before going to Kane's do your homework first and check out their history on honoring their furniture they sell. Nothing to do now but have another company come in and rehab the furniture with better quality material. Good luck if you buy or have bought from Kane's Furniture.

We purchased a clearance, as is bonded leather, 3 piece unit from your store in February of 2013. We are snowbirds and have rented a property in Ridge Manor, Florida for some 10 years. Our original sofa set was old and torn, so we visited your store and saw a very good deal on this 3 piece set, knowing that good quality and good price would suit our needs for a rental. When purchased, it was as is and in excellent condition. We could not see any reason why it would be a clearance but were told by your salesman that it was an end of line style. Ironically, I can see from your customer reviews that several complaints were made about this fabric, but your stores continued to sell what units were left.
We have been in the villa for less than 10 months since purchase as we spend 5 months in the winter in Florida and 7 months in our permanent residence in Canada. We rarely use the set as most of our time is spend outdoors on our lanai. Before we left to go home last spring we started to see some splitting of the seams and some tearing of the arms, like it was coming apart. When we returned just 2 weeks ago, it has become worse with every use, and is actually disintegrating before our eyes. Every time we sit on the sofa or love seat it comes apart even more. I contacted your store a few days ago and discussed the situation with your Customer Service. The gal, very nice, indicated that she had my invoice in front of her and quoted that it was clearance and as is purchase. She tried to be helpful, but indicated that there was nothing the store could do for us.
I regret that within another few weeks, it will come completely apart at the seams and there will be nothing we will be able to do but rid of it. This was a substantial investment in a set of furniture that would eventually be left in a rental and not belong to us. Kane's has a very good name in the USA for their quality service. "Quality so good, guaranteed for life"? Would so much appreciate hearing from you at our Florida location at your earliest convenience. We have contacted your head office regarding this situation in Tampa. Our friends and family cannot believe that Kane's is not standing by their promise for guaranteed quality.

My husband and I went into Kane's furniture on Friday and purchased couch. The sales person promised after several questions that the couch would be delivered with in 3 minimum to 7 days maximum. Had received a call on Saturday stating the couch would not be in until the next Sunday at the earliest since it was coming from the headquarters' warehouse over 2 hours away. Decided to cancel our order since the sales representative was misleading in the promises on the furniture.
Called Kane's store and they took down the information and stated someone else handles this so could they get back with us. They called back a short time later and started the process promising a return of my funds within 3 to 5 days. Called back on Monday and they stated it was being processed. Called on Wednesday and they stated it was almost finished and we would have it by Friday. Called on Friday and they stated they had just gotten to it and it would be another 3 to 5 days with two different reasons as to why. After being insistent on a further explanation, they hung up the phone.
We are disputing this with the bank and with Kane and are wondering as to why the delay on just returning money. Our suggestion is to not go through the hassle with this company. Just keep in mind that when you are on the floor looking at the furniture, they will tell you anything to make the sale (they are a commission sales staff) and then do nothing to keep you satisfied after the sale is done.

As for Kane's we are now pursuing remedy through the BBB and VISA. We are prepared to take legal action if our concerns are not resolved, regardless of the cost.

Leather furniture "disaster" from Kane's after 3 yrs (found out bonded leather)... Looked 100's worse than the 10 year old leather furniture replaced. Started peeling/flaking/color rubbing off and only me sitting on it. Contacted Kane's. They were somewhat great--gave me 50% credit of what I spent (could have given me nothing)... And yes, I had purchased the leather warranty on the junk, ugh. However, happy I got anything. When looking to find replacement at Kane's, could not find anything in my budget, went 3 times and finally found a replacement (not leather or bonded). It looks like leather. It's fabric - we shall see. Kane's is still selling the bonded stuff as they have millions$ of it left, but have it labelled correctly now. Kane's has multi-million$$ lawsuit against the company who conned them. When repurchasing, the salespeople told me not to buy the bonded stuff. Hope this helps!

Purchased a sectional ($3,800) and after 2 months, motor quits working on recliner. Tech comes out and does not know what's wrong with it. Then Kane's calls us and said lightning struck the motor. That's a laugh since the electrical outlet is fine and the lights that were plugged into the same socket works. Told us it would take 3 months to get the parts. Been 3 months now and they are now telling us the part will be delivered to our house by the end of November. Ask us to put the part in. I laughed again. Then they told us when we get the part to call them and they will schedule a tech to come out and replace.
This is not the first furniture that we have had problems with. I do not recommend buying anything from Kane's. They have now lost our business. Every time I hear our furniture is guaranteed it makes me laugh. Do you think they have made any accommodation for us? I contacted the Corp. Office and they are telling me the same thing. I think they should be liable for the TV commercial for guaranteed for life, it's not so. If I use the sofa a lot or it was 5 to 10 yrs. old, I wouldn't complain. It's tragic you have to fight for their mistakes and they don't care. So far I'm not getting anywhere with these people. Called Kane's and immediately they sent out a technician to examine the product and he assured us that there would be a replacement part. Got a call several days later and was told they were ordering a replacement part and it should take 3 or 4 weeks to come in. After many calls we were told the part was in Tampa and as soon as they locate it (I guess they have a large warehouse) we would be getting the part and they would send out a technician to make the exchange.
Nothing happened, again after MANY calls, asking the district manager to call us (which he never did). I got to talk to the store manager which he told me he would resolve the issue. Had to call him and find out where we are with the problem and he stated they would be out Oct 29, 2015 to replace the part. Of course we believed him. We could have lived with the way it wasn't quite as shiny as we expected but there are scratch marks over one of the imperfections as if someone had already tried to buff it out. I'm now told that Kane's is involved in a lawsuit over the inferior product supplied to them (and passed to me as the customer). I then was given the option of a 40% discount on a new sofa. The last time, was the straw that broke the camels back. I had to pay $75.00 for someone to give an estimate and that it would most probably cost about the same amount to be fixed. When they got here, it was minimum $350. Forget it! OK! They said, but pay us the $75. My repairs on a $2,000 sectional with them would probably be close to $1,000, if I included this last repair. The same seam has ripped 4 times in 4 months! When I call the store and ask to speak to a manager I'm always told they are busy, in a meeting, out to lunch or with a customer. I would leave messages and no one would call me back. It took me a WEEK to get a manager on the phone. I called their corporate Customer Service and left multiple messages for a week and kept being told the TWO corporate Customer Service reps call back in the order a call was received. A large corporation with hundreds of stores has TWO Corporate Customer Service reps.
When I spoke to the store manager about wanting the piece replaced and not repaired I'm told the part is no longer available and is discontinued. All the store manager keeps saying is the warranty ONLY covers repairs. When I tell him I understand that, but that the couch was never in good shape to begin with, he says he's sorry. If I had the couch for a year and it ripped then so be it, but the couch was delivered ripped! As it stands they only want to repair the seam. I spent $2500 on a couch that was never in NEW condition and all they want to do is keep repairing the seam. I find this EXTREMELY unacceptable. Their Customer Service has been the WORST as no one is ever available to talk too.

A month and a half ago I scheduled to have someone take a look at it. On Saturday 7/25/15 two men visited and took pictures of the furniture. I was told I would be contacted within 24-48 hours of their visit. On Tuesday following their visit I called Kane's because I had not been contacted yet. There was some confusion as to who I was & where I lived. Finally Amber called me at 7:30 that night and let me know that this sectional had been discontinued but they have to make an attempt to order replacement parts with the manufacturer and someone would be in contact with me.
This was never discussed with me, nor was it explained that the repairs would have to be done in my living room where my small children play. My house is not a workshop and the issues with this sectional cannot be something that is easily repaired. I was told a week ago that the service manager would call me and I'm still waiting. I am writing in hopes that someone who is considering buying furniture here runs away as quickly as they possibly can. I bought a 4 piece couch from Kane's. It was delivered at the end of January 2015. Within the first week, we noticed there was a rip on the seam of the seat of the couch. It looked like the manufacturer didn't complete sewing the seam all the way. We called immediately and were told that this isn't covered by the "Quality so good it's guaranteed for life" warranty but as a courtesy, they would come out and fix it. The technician came out in early February and sewed it. He did an OK job and I figured I could live with the imperfection of it.
In April we notice that the stuffing from one of the sewn in top cushions is gone. Just a deflated cushion. At the same time we noticed another section was creaking when we sat on it. We inspected it and could feel a few loose boards inside so figured the frame was broken. The technician came out at mid to late May. 2 weeks later we follow up after not hearing anything, Kane's told us they thought this was normal wear and tear and therefore it wasn't covered by the Quality so good guarantee but would come out as a courtesy and fix it. Now we've only had this couch 3 months at this time. That is not normal wear and tear. And they told me that they wouldn't fix the issue with the piece that had the frame issue. I immediately asked to have this escalated because I disagreed. Nothing... Mid June I called to talk to a manager and they refused to talk to me telling me the matter had been escalated to corporate.
2 months go by without a word so I call corporate. They basically tell me, it's my fault that my couch is falling apart and that as a courtesy they would come out and fix the pieces. She assured me that they would fix the piece with the frame issue (which has gotten worse at this point). I personally don't want this piece of trash. I honestly feel like this couch is a lemon and they won't admit it. In order to "fix" the couch, they literally have to rip the seams to get access to the inside and literally re-build it. And they think that is normal for a couch that is (now 6 months) but was 3 months old when we starting having the issues. I wish I'd read the reviews before shopping there. After my couch is "fixed" I plan on getting rid of it and buying a new one that will hopefully last longer than 3 months.

I called for a replacement and was told that they do not replace furniture, that they would have to send out a technician to examine the piece. The first appt. set -as per their policy is that they call the night before to confirm- the appt. was never confirmed (no show) and therefore rescheduled after I called.
The technician finally made the appointment at the next reschedule and told me that he would be able to re-stuff the lounger and this process would take 2-3 hours. I was a bit concerned and still wish to have the piece replaced, but to no avail. Then an appointment was made for another Saturday, again, no confirmation and another no show. So I had to call once again and rescheduled and again no confirmation, so I called again on Saturday morning. I was told that the technician would be at the apartment between 2:30 and 5:30pm? I was assuming that he would be closer to 2:30pm being that the time allotted to fix the issue was going to take 2-3 hours. It is now 4:30pm and no technician. I called the store to ask why they would send a technician out so late on a Saturday to handle a 2-3 hour job? I wish to not have a strange man in my apartment late night fixing furniture.
I asked to reschedule and be the first appointment in the morning due to the length of time to repair. The manager was rude and gave me a hard time with my request. She was extremely unprofessional, but I was adamant about getting a technician earlier in the day. I am not sure what their thought process is... but I would not recommend Kane's Furniture to anyone. Apparently they were treating my furniture with a sealant, because I had bought a 7 years warranty package. I was told as well it was going to be ready. They certified that everything had been checked so I took for granted that everything was fine. Once at home I realized they had given me the wrong sofa. Oh ** No one seems to care. I called the store and spoke to the whole crew before having the store manager on the phone. He told me couldn't send a truck with a new deliverer the same. After long discussion I had to go back to the store to return the furniture.
Then the store manager told me he will call me next day to set up the delivery day. That never happened. I called two days later and store manager Roger stated it would be delivered on Sunday and someone would call me two days before to give me an E.T.A. That also never happened. I called them back to check on that time frame and they told me that I had to wait for an additional week. I spoke with Mr. **, general manager. He just kept saying that he was going to deliver back for free. Go to hell with those crumbs!!! This company doesn't know how to make customers happy. I paid for my own rental truck because I wanted my sofa right away. I ended up paying for extra miles, and being charged for returning my vehicle after hours, just because someone at the warehouse was supposed to check my furniture before putting it in my truck. They didn't do it.
This company doesn't take responsibilities on their mistakes. They don't provide a quick response to solve the customer needs in a short period of time. That was their fault, not mine, and they will do the same millions of times because they don't spend a dollar running to solve their customer complaints. If their mistakes don't cost them money, they will do it again and again. I feel frustrated. They think they're doing me a favor. They don't know that a happy customer can represent 200 more people going in the store and the same way an angry customer can avoid those 200 from coming to the store. In USA buyers command and sellers serve. I also reviewed previous comments, it's incredible how this place score is 1.5 out of 10. I purchased leather sofas and chairs for our family room. Within 24 hours my teenage daughter became severely ill. Our family was very excited to have the new couches and was spending a lot of time on the furniture enjoying them. My daughter started having a rash then burn type lesions, then became lethargic. We didn't know at the time it was the furniture and after spending the night in the recliner trying to feel better her face swelled to almost triple the size from the direct contact with the leather. After much panic I did some very urgent research and found out about how the furniture is made in China.
After investigation, I found that the couches were packed with sachets containing dimethyl fumarate (DMF), an antifungal agent intended to prevent the leather from getting moldy during storage and shipment from China. The chemical evaporates, penetrating the leather and can transfer to clothing and skin. Even small levels of exposure can cause serious skin sores, blisters, rashes and eye irritation. These packets are inserted inside the seat cushions and between the leather and the cushion, so you won’t see any sign of them. It was really scary to see me daughter in this condition.
I went to Kane's and although they said they never heard of this type of situation or reaction they were very cordial in working with us to replace the couches and get the DMF laden ones out of our house immediately. I was happy with their concern and cooperation. Within 24 hours her symptoms began to ease and she was well by the end of the week. Just thought I'd pass the info along for other parents whose children may be prone to allergic reactions.

He told me those furniture were not spray with protection coat they force me to pay for and that is why they gave me the credit to buy other furniture. So that means they scammed me with that bogus warranty. They only gave me $1,238 plus free delivery and with the condition I return the old furniture.
When I went there today, found out they are doing a lawsuit on the company that they bought the furniture from, but they refused to give me not even a military disable discount or any other discount for what I am going to pay for after the other discount given. I was force to be a returning client and that did not even count to give me another discount. I ask for cash at first and to keep the old ones, but they refused, so they rather increase the credit from $850 to $1,238.
After the scam I went through, I felt hesitant about buying anything from them again, but they left me no choice and the worst part is that they are probably going to resale those, on top of winning a lawsuit. Clients do not seem to be important to them. I hope my new furniture do not have any issues, although I make sure this time it was not leather or Bonded leather. Buyers Beware, cuz they do not stand on their warranty, when you put a claim.
Updated on 07/14/2015: We were using the credit they gave us to buy some other furniture, to replaced my bonded leather future and the one we picked had a yellow tag price package for $2,989 that supposedly ended that day. But while we were there buying that set, they change the price to $10 more and the day was not even over with for them, because they close at about 10 pm. Definitely, the Attorney General should do something about it, for scamming customers and false advertisement.

We bought a sofa, loveseat, and chair about 1 year ago. The sofa and loveseat cushions are sagging and when you sit you sink way down. We went to store and made a complaint. Man came out and took 5 pictures and left. It was a total of 10 minutes. We also complained the loveseat creaks when sat on. A day later Kane's called saying it was normal wear and tear and they would do nothing. I had a 15 year old sofa we gave to an elderly neighbor that was in better condition than this sofa and loveseat are. So disappointed with quality of furniture and customer service.

Called telling that top of love seat is cracking like bonded leather and they said it's not covered. Did everything. Paid for extra uv3 protection. I would not buy anything from them and hope you take this warning. They are no good. Even paid for extra for protection by Masterguard for what a rip off rip off rip off. I kept complaining and going back to the store (NPR) after they turned me down. Finally got a manager to give me two floor models which lasted about 8-9 months and now I'm back where I started. I came into the store and I showed the salesman the furniture I wanted and asked him to total it up for me and I would be in tomorrow to pay for it. When I got home that evening I looked at the total and realized I had been overcharged. I came back the next day and showed it to the salesperson and he said "oh I made a mistake." We paid for it and when I got home and looked at the receipt I realized that the salesperson had added other items that I never order. I ordered two of these recliners. After they arrived and set up we discovered they were the most uncomfortable chairs I had ever owned. I felt like I was going to slide right out of the chair because the foot rest only comes up 3/4 of the way even when fully reclined then there is a big gap in the middle of your back area absolutely no support. So I called the store hearing their ad again while waiting "Lifetime Guarantee". But when I told the salesperson I would like to exchange the recliners I was told there would be a 20% restocking fee to do so then the balance will go on a store credit. I was under the understanding that lifetime guarantee meant just that but it does not. So the outcome is I will be out 20% if I want different chairs.

Having picked out a new sectional in April, 2015, we were assisted by the salesperson **. While completing our purchase, he told us the store in Ocoee (where we bought our sectional) offers 20% once a month, and he will be sure to discount that amount from our bill. We placed a deposit on our sectional and returned to the store yesterday to pay our balance. We went to customer service to find out our final total due. The amount was not even close to what we were told, nor did it reflect what our invoice said. The man at the computer seemed completely overwhelmed by his job and kept asking for help. We got our final total, went home and paid it online, after Kane's sent us a link to allow us to do that.
We paid the balance, called the store back and arranged delivery for next Saturday. Within one hour, our salesperson ** called us to say we owed an additional $400 and we needed to come and pay it right away. After investigating this further, we found out that they had added their "furniture protection guarantee" onto our bill, we never wanted or ordered this. We tried explaining this to ** that this was the reason for the extra money owed, and to please take it off. He would not. We cancelled the order and asked for our money back. We were told it would be five days before we got our money returned to us.
This store in Ocoee seems to practice the bait and switch, thank goodness we looked. I hope this serves as a warning to other consumers who plan on visiting this store. My personal feeling is that the extra $400 was our salesperson commission and he was annoyed that we discovered it. It's really too bad because the sectional was awesome. We will spend our money elsewhere, hopefully where the sales people don't lie to you, and they have experienced customer service reps. We will also be reporting this to the BBB.

We don't like leather, had to finally yell at her to make her understand. Picked out the recliners and tables, was told that both are back ordered for a couple weeks. Thought no problem. Paid In Full for items with an expected delivery in 3 weeks. Told the sales lady at the customer service desk that I will wait 30 days, if not delivered by then I expect full refund. Was told "no problem."
3 weeks later delivery called to let me know that both tables were in and when could they deliver. I told them to hold them until recliners come in. A few days later they called to set up delivery of recliners. I said "great, deliver all four pieces." I was informed that my tables were out in and wouldn't be in for a couple more weeks. Well I lost it, I referred them to the conversation I had a few days before, they had no clue. I requested a refund. Was told "no problem." Would be put back into account in less than a week. Called back 2 weeks later, asking about my refund. The manager on the other end of the phone said that it would be done this Friday, in 2 days.
Called back the following Friday, 3 weeks 2 days since requested refund. He said that he didn't know what the hold up was, but... I told him that I would be coming down to his store on Wednesday if my money wasn't in my account by then to vocally and loudly ask where my refund is. Well that got their attention. I spent a large amount of money buying a sofa love seat and power recliner that I thought was leather but now I learned that it is bonded leather rather than genuine leather. When I purchased it they talked me into a leather care kit to clean and condition the leather. Now I find out there is very little leather in the furniture. I bought the set in July of 2012, it was delivered in August. In February 2015 I noticed the the headrest on the sofa where my husband sits was peeling really bad so I called Kane's and they arranged to have someone repair it but I had to pay for the material and shipping. The headrest piece cost me $70.00.
Now there are a bunch of other spots doing the same thing. My husband and I are in our 50's. We work all day and are only home a couple of hours in the evening when we use this furniture. It looks worn out already. This furniture I thought would last us 15-20 like my last set but its only 2 1/2 years old and I need to replace it already. They did 3 weeks later. The parts had to be ordered. Took another 2 months to get part and another 2 weeks for someone to install it. After another 6 months the same thing the love seat began peeling. Called Kane's they said the lifetime warranty only applied to 1 repair, doesn't sound like lifetime to me. Fought with them for a month. They agreed to repair it if we paid for the parts. We did. It cost over 100.00. Took 2 months to get the parts and then another 2 weeks for someone to come and fix it. Always an excuse. They were on vacation or short handed and would try and get someone out when they could. Got the repair done 2 months later.
Another 6 month go by same thing happens. Kane's fixes it again after 4 months and us paying for the parts. This warranty is costing me more and more. At this time they finally admit the set isn't leather but bonded and will continue to peel if it used. Well duh figured that out ourselves. Kane's says they can’t do anything else and we used the warranty multiple times and it is limited to a one time use only. Forward to 2015, both love seat and couch are destroyed, peeling, flaking and look like I got them off the street somewhere. I think maybe since they are suing the manufacture a class action lawsuit is on order. Maybe a little reimbursement to the parties who bought their defective furniture is in order. We bought this furniture because we are up in age and we thought it would last us till we were gone. The pieces looked great. We were really proud of them. But after about two months, we noticed that the seats were collapsing. When we bought this from Kane’s we made it a point to discuss the insides of the couch with the salesman. He assured us that it was better than foam, he even showed us a cutaway piece to assure us. Well it sank. Kane’s did come out and restuff the couch, but then shortly the love seat started to sink and we noticed the finish on the leather was cracking and peeling.
We called Kane's and told them about it and they said that they would come out and restuff the love seat but wouldn't do anything about the peeling. I said "what about Kane's lifetime guarantee". They said "it covers everything but the fabric or covering." Well my couch the love seat and the chair is peeling more and more everyday. We have blankets trying to cover it and even with the covers it just keeps peeling. It's like a cancer coming off in patches all over. The only ones living in this house is my wife and myself and she sits only on a recliner so you can see the furniture isn't even being used. I asked Kane's to give us some credit and we would apply it on something else but they said No!
There must be some way we can do a class action suit against them, and make them do something to take care of this. They continue to lie to people, telling them their furniture has a lifetime guarantee when it doesn't. Can’t the attorney general do something about this false advertising? BUT, this guy's tells me "going to be 12 weeks, they will ship the part to you" and that's the last we heard from ANYONE. Now, 12 weeks was approaching, we were moving, so we call to check on part, see if it has shipped, and when it will if it hadn't because we needed to give them the new address. NOTHING... could not get an answer out of anyone as to IF it had shipped, IF/WHEN it will ship. This went on for a couple weeks.
Finally moved, finally found out it had NOT shipped yet (remember when I said earlier, that we were approaching 12 weeks?) Well we blew right by those 12 and nothing has shipped. Finally got word, after calling more times, that the part had shipped FROM OVERSEAS.... Apparently Kane's does not stock in the states... Could you be any less American? No tracking, no shipping date, just the good old standard, "it's shipping to you and we will schedule the repair within 2 weeks". If I were a betting kind of guy, I would bet my house on the fact they won't come close to those 2 weeks.
Now, the one thing I didn't mention before, the tech that was there no more than 10 minutes, NEVER sat in the chair. The problem now is this chair sits about an inch lower than its counter part on the other end of the sectional. Every time I move the chair to clean under it, there are A LOT of pieces of foam from the seat. Guess you can see next battle, if I ever get past this one. One last thing, this sectional hasn't been in our home a year yet. Pretty sad... Maybe that should be included in their sales and marketing. We purchased a bonded leather power reclining sofa, a power reclining love seat and a manual rocker/reclining chair on May 5th, 2012. Just a few days after the warranty expired, the back of the sofa started peeling and flaking on both sides. I immediately took photos and called Kane's and told them that I felt like the bonded leather was defected, it was almost like it was dry rotted. They informed me that I needed to come into the store, which I did the next evening, with photos in hand. I was then informed that they would not go by my photos, but must send a technician to my home. I was also informed that it would be at least 4 weeks before a tech would be available because one was in the hospital and they were very shorthanded.
The day before the scheduled appointment, I received a telephone call from Kane's informing me that it would be another week or so before the tech was available. He finally showed up and took a couple of photos and told me that Kane's would contact me. They did not and I had to make several calls to find out what was going on. At first they were not willing to do anything because the regular warranty had expired, however, after much persistence, they finally told me that if I purchased the fabric, they would not charge any labor for the installation. I tried to pay for the fabric while I was on the phone, but I was told that they did NOT accept credit card information over they phone, so again I had to be inconvenienced by driving to the store.
The sofa was eventually repaired, only to start peeling and flaking on the seat cushions. I called the store again and was told that no other repairs would be made and that the first time was a "one time" courtesy. Now, all three pieces are peeling, flaking and falling apart. I have just learned that Kane's has filed a lawsuit against Southern Motion, a manufacturer out of Mississippi for selling them defective bonded leather items and have also learned that Kane's no longer sells bonded leather products at all. I paid $3,095.96 for the furniture and instead of Kane's profiting from the lawsuit, I feel like the customers should be reimbursed since they were the ones that suffered from purchasing defective products, which Kane's insisted was NOT defective at all!! I have a call into the corporate office now, but am waiting for a call back. If they do not compensate me, I am going to contact an attorney and sue them for selling ME defective furniture!

The manager of the store was very understanding & offered us a complete refund or exchange, due to our particular circumstances.
Once we went into Kane's to decide our best options, our wonderful (original salesman) ** was there to restart our entire experience with complete understanding & compassion for what we had been through. They worked out a "very" fair trade & find ourselves very satisfied with the quality of our new sectional "Harlee~Red Chili Peppers" (now, discontinued). It's amazing the difference in touch, feel, comfort & quality, between the two.
We are very grateful that they made this transaction seamless & rewarding. All good things are worth waiting for. The hard thing to learn is about "what is true quality"? Sometimes until you experience it on hand, at home, the higher price tag doesn't always ensure the greatest quality or workmanship. This is what I thought: because I picked out a higher ticket, I would get better seats! NOT always.

In March, we were informed that "part" of the set was available for delivery and that it would be delivered between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. the following day. We cancelled work to await arrival and the following morning we were contacted to be informed that sectional piece that was available had been damaged and a new delivery date or the remaining sectionals would not be ready for a yet to be determined future date.

After this posting they called and offered us 50% of what we paid if we spent the credit on more furniture. After dealing with the horrible quality, we were not anxious to replace the furniture with more furniture from Kane's. We had to junk the furniture.

I went to the Brandon Fl store and bought two bedroom sets and dining room chairs. Spent 1800.00 dollars. Paid for the furniture, set up delivery date for three weeks out. Now paid for in full. Two days before delivery received phone call. The full-size bunk beds I bought that were in stock and they had them when I paid for them are not available anymore. Told me I would have to come back to the store and pick something else out. I told them "are you crazy? You had them when I bought them. Now you are telling me not available anymore."
I was told a Manager would call me, no call. Went into the store after work to talk to the Manager and he was on vacation. The GM came out to talk to me. I told him what happened. He said "it is our policy, we don't hold furniture." I said "I paid for it, what are you talking about." He said "I am sorry, there is nothing I can do," and walked off. I am so pissed off I will never recommend Kanes anymore or ever step foot in one of their stores. They took my money and sold my furniture then wanted me to spend more money for something I didn't want. I have never been treated so poorly by a General Manager in my life. Now I buy my furniture from Ashley who will get all my and my family and friends' business. Kane's needs to learn who pays their salaries. If it is not for the customers where would they be-- nowhere.

I tried contacting Kane's numerous times about kitchen set I purchased. Every single chair has broken. The legs cracked on each one and I actually got hurt when the chair buckled. I wanted to have the chairs replaced (only chairs, not table)... no response. Filed claim with BBB and submitted copy of receipt showing warranty coverage. Their response was that purchase made before they started lifetime guarantee. Still no response and no replacement. Disgusted as lack of service and claims of providing warranty for defective products that are basically worthless.

Bought a leather sectional from Kane's in Tampa, FL less than 10 months ago. It is power, supposed to have lifetime warranty. Seats are sinking, you can feel the coils when sitting on the seat. Leather has stretched terribly. Had service come finally! Never called me back, I had to follow up 4 weeks later. Asked for the manager to come look at our sofa. Since then, they returned my call and said nothing was wrong with the couch. I went in to the store recently to sit on the one in the showroom and asked how long they have had it in there. The sales rep said thousands of people have sat on it, it has been in there over 2 yrs. I was so angry! Just purchased a 5,000 sq. ft home and went to Havertys and Rooms To Go and bought all new furniture. I will never ever buy from Kane's again!!! They have awful customer service.

Kane's needs to be clear in their advertisements about what a lifetime warranty is. I was told by a company representative, this means the "life of the product," not the life of a person who buys the product. They determine the "life of a product." So, if they determine "life of a product" one year, two years, five years, etc. that is what they honor (possibly). I don't know, because my couch's "lifetime warranty" has expired. It is 5 yrs old and apparently its "lifetime warranty" has expired.
I grew up in an age where "lifetime" had a meaningful value. My father owned Sears tools that had a "lifetime" that meant his life. Not some arbitrary (marketing department) specified life. With all the false advertising we have in this country, it's no wonder why lower quality goods from other countries seem to outcompete with US quality made goods. I suppose the consequences will be that we will have to purchase a new couch, from a quality company, that does not have a "lifetime warranty" because that is a misnomer anymore.

In December 2009 we purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner at the Savon Store (now renamed Kane's) on Washington Blvd. Sarasota, and paid extra $ for a warranty.... total cost to us $699.71. A not-insignificant sum. We believed we were purchasing a quality piece of furniture. How wrong we were. We are snowbirds who reside in Florida for 5 l/2 months each year, which means that our chair received a scant 15 months of gentle use - no pets, no children climbing on it, one non-smoking adult person using it. However, to our amazement, there was wear and cracking at the head space on the chair. How could this be? We removed the back of the chair and carried it into the Savon store and spoke to a sales person and even asked to see a manager.
Nobody gave us any satisfaction. They basically shrugged their shoulders, advised us to contact the warranty company or La-Z-Boy, and that it was not their problem. And they walked away, leaving us standing at the counter! We were dumbfounded - such a cavalier attitude from people who had groveled for our business 15 months before. We telephoned the coating warranty company. That "Savon UV3 Leather Deluxe Protection Program" was sold to us for $75.00. We received the same lack of response and lack of concern at the problem. They told us to contact the store. We explained we had. Then they said it was not their problem! They directed us to contact La-Z-Boy. When I protested that this wasn't good enough, guess what they did? They hung up on us.
In March, 2012 we communicated by e-mail with La-Z-Boy Corporation regarding this problem and were advised by return e-mail to contact the retailer where we had purchased the chair. We had already taken the chair back to Savon. We were being directed in circles, but why? Were we supposed to just get tired and give up? It certainly seemed that way to us. Since we were scheduled to depart Florida for our northern home on April 5, there would not have been no time for further wrangling. We gave up.
Interestingly, there is no mention anywhere on our bill that our chair is "bonded leather", but I believe it certainly must be, given the similarity of our chair problems with that of others who at least knew they were purchasing "bonded leather". That fact alone should be grounds for a law suit. I never even heard of "bonded leather" until recently. Bonded leather is not worth the paper it is glued onto. I now realize that we customers are looked upon as suckers, to be fleeced and kicked aside. I only recently discovered that Facebook is an excellent forum for airing complaints and unfair treatment. I intend to exploit this forum to the fullest extent possible.
My husband and I will never shop in a Kane's or Savon furniture store again. We will never shop in a La-Z-Boy furniture store again. We will never again purchase any "warranty" on any furniture. When we hear of somebody intending to purchase furniture, we make sure to advise them of this shabby and insulting treatment. Your very sincere ex-customer.

It has been 2 weeks since 1st delivery of my son's bed that they had grabbed the wrong item and my son couldn't sleep on his bed for an additional 4 days. My son is handicapped and we called the store and spoke to Phyllis who didn't care my son didn't have a bed. Then when the 2nd crew came out they were suppose to grab the first items that were wrong and never did because they didn't have an order to. They even called the warehouse with me standing there and I spoke to a lady who confirmed that another crew was coming out. A few days ago, the repairman for Kane's came out and he couldn't believe why they sent him because his truck is too small to take the furniture. He's just a repairman and thought he was coming to repair an item, not pick something up.
NOW, it's the 12th of February and still these items are in my house and the Kane's in Brandon, FL (ALL the managers) don't care. When we spoke to Phyllis again today, we asked for the regional manager and she told us that she wasn't giving us that because the manager is now on vacation and we have to wait until he returns next week. SO why should I??? I told them that if these items are NOT picked up in 24 hours they will be thrown away!!! I have contacted the corporate office today and told them what has been going on and all I am doing is still waiting for a phone call back.
I will NEVER EVER BUY another piece of furniture from Kane's AGAIN! I rather have my teeth all pulled. All they care about is selling items, NOT about families. All of us in this world are consumers and we all shop, so you would think they could apologize, make this right...BUT NO!!! I personally feel that corporate all knows what their stores do because look at all these complaints on various sites. Furniture issues, padding and customer service...I am surprise they are STILL in business. From now on I WILL never buy another item from any furniture store UNLESS I read reviews.
Just received a phone call from corporate, a Miss Shannon I believe, and since the distribution center is closed on Thursday's and Friday's there is nothing they can do until the weekend. I explained to her that is unacceptable because I'm not sitting in my house AGAIN for a weekend waiting. I told her why don't they hiring the independent worker that takes all the stuff from clearance for people to come and pick it up and her response is he doesn't work for Kane's!!! BUT if I can get it to the Brandon, FL office I could be reimburse. WTF??? What is the difference??? I don't work for Kane's either. I paid for delivery, not I am delivery!!!

Mr. Don ** and Mr. Justin ** are the main reasons why the system is broke.. Falsified reports to corporate, employee deductions from paychecks that can not be justified except through falsified documents, selective enforcement of policy, damaged merchandise touched up and cleaned up and sent out as new furniture.. intimidating authority enforcement with threats of job security.. I purchased 2 Capri "bonded leather" recliners from Kane's Furniture. Less than 2 years after purchasing, the "bonded leather" started to peel off. It was then that I realized that it wasn't leather at all. It is a very thin fabric (almost like plastic wrap) that is dyed to look like leather. When I contacted Kane's about their incessant and excessive claims about the "Lifetime Guarantee", I was told that fabric wasn't covered. Apparently, the Lifetime Guarantee only covers parts that are unlikely to ever break but doesn't cover the most common defects like fake upholstery. In fact, the "Lifetime" warranty is only good for 7 years which is not quite my lifetime. Here's what they said: "Our warranty does not cover against any topical issues, including the cracking and peeling issue you are having with your recliners."

In November 2012, we purchased a sofa set from Kane's Furniture in St. Petersburg, Florida. We purchased from there because of their fantastic warranty. Well, did we ever make a mistake. We are from Canada and only use our Florida home for a few months in the winter and a few weeks in the Fall. Shortly after we purchased the furniture, we noticed that the padding in the sofa, both right and left hand sides was bunching up underneath the leather and hardening the cushion.
We reported the situation to Kane's in the Spring of 2014 and received a visit from a technician who said the cause was normal use and it would likely not be covered. When we returned to Florida in September of 2014, we went back to Kane's to explain to them that even though the sofa was approx 2 years old, it had not been 2 years of use, in fact the use was somewhat less than 5 months. We spoke to Paula at the store and she looked at the pictures again and said that she would do something for us. She would have to send the technician out again to determine whether they could replace the padding only or replace the full cushion.
Since we were not back in Florida until Jan 2015, we arranged for the technician visit at that time. After the technician visit, we again checked with Kane's to get a status only to be told that it would not be covered under the warranty and there was nothing they could do for us. So not only is the warranty not worth the paper it is printed on, the customer service is even worse. So, needless to say we will not ever be shopping at Kane's again and we will not hesitate to tell all our friends about the terrible service and terrible products that Kane's are selling.

Went to Lakeland store and the sales people were very helpful. I even brought a sample of the leather that I needed to match the color with. I purchased an electric recliner over $1200.00. The store did not stock and it would be the following Fri. before delivery. I decided to pick it up at the warehouse which is buried in the bowels of St Pete someplace? Picked up the chair, still wrapped in plastic and the loader said, “if you get home and there is any damage, please let the store know within 72 hrs.”
Got chair home, had two people from next door help me (I’m almost 70 yrs. old) get it in my house and unwrap my new chair which put little beads of Styrofoam all over my house. To my dismay it was choc. brown, instead of light chestnut. Needless to say, I went and got my free labor and loaded my new chair up to return it to the store. Returned the chair the following morning and explained that the color wasn't even close and to my surprise the customer service rep. explained to the store manager that the last shipment of those chairs did come in much darker.
I do not understand Kane's policy about returns, even though it is none of my business. I would not even let anyone sit in the chair fearing that they might tell me that the chair had been used or something that would negate the return. When I pulled around back, two young men unloaded this very nice chair for me. I went to them and explained that there was nothing wrong with the chair, just the wrong color, they told me that everything had to go back to the warehouse and pushed the chair over in a corner. Then they had some headboards in boxes and buried this chair I had treated like a baby with cardboard rubbing all over it. I then went in the store and picked out another chair but refused to go back to that god forsaken warehouse. Same story will be in Fri. Store manager told me there would be a 20% restocking fee. I'm sorry I couldn't help it! I asked if he was listening to what he was saying. It was like a light went on.
As promised, second chair came in on Friday. Picked up chair on Friday and went home. My free labor is starting to get noticeably upset with me feeling like they have moved my whole house at this point. Unwrapped new chair and installed legs, plugged it in and sat down in it. The whole back started to wobble it seems the back of the chair was broken on both sides.
You guessed it, got my very aggravated friends by now. Had them load the chair and returned it to the store first thing Sat. morning. 01/23/2015 I was told I would get my money back within 10 days. It has been 14 days and still no money? I talked to the office manager and she said it had not even been put through to the corp. office. The problem is not the employees but the system. The employees have been great.

Four years ago, my husband and I purchased a dining room set and a dinette set from Kane's. We had just purchased a home in Florida. We decided to purchase from Kane's because of their lifetime warranty. Our dinette set chair legs have constantly become loose and required periodic tightening. Recently, I noticed that the two front legs on two of my chairs started to push forward so much that the chairs became unsafe to sit in. I called Kane's, because I assumed their lifetime warranty would allow them to correct the problem with my chairs. NOT SO!! They sent someone to my home to look at the chairs. I was told he could not fix the chairs and that someone from the store would call me. He stated the actual wood frame in the seat was broken. There are 3 normal-sized adults in my home--no children!!
They called me the next day and said the chairs were not under warranty and nothing could be done. Well I was extremely upset!!! I asked to speak with the manager, he said the chairs were not under warranty - that only covers manufacturers defects. (I think a chair that breaks up in 4 years is a manufacturers defect.) He said I could come into the store and pick out two more replacement chairs. I said OK. The problem is they don't have anymore chairs to match my set. He suggested we come into the store to purchase 4 new chairs. He said he would give us a credit for the broken chairs. He also said that 4 years is about as long as their furniture will last. So the hype of high quality furniture and lifetime warranty is a complete lie!!!!
So I should pay money to purchases more of their poor quality furniture? I don't think so!! Also my other dining room set has 3 chairs that have fabric that has split and not in the seam. They are not willing to do anything about those chairs. So I guess 4 years is about as long as you can expect to keep furniture you purchase from Kane's. The lifetime warranty is a joke!!

What is especially frustrating is because I went out of my way to ask the sales person if they recommended any specific cleaner or sold a leather cleaner. As I had bought a cheaper piece some yrs earlier where that same thing happened. I was told they didn't sell anything & just recommended any good leather cleaner. And that wouldn't happen to this love seat as it was bonded leather (real leather bonded onto vinyl). I just called back & was told they wouldn't do anything as all their sofas are only guaranteed one yr for the covering.
The person who sold it to me is gone of course, & the person doesn't know why I was told it was real bonded, leather as it is a mixture, & they do sell a cleaning product. When I asked about the lifetime guarantee in their ads I was told that is only for defects in moving parts & only one yr for any covering. Also they recommend cleaning with soap & water. Sofa was missing during the first delivery and the delivery guys had no idea what is going on. I had to called the delivery department and the store to put all the information together (I had to do that because Kane's Furniture had no idea what is going). They agreed to make a second delivery for the sofa on Sat 11/1.
No one called me to let me know the time frame of the delivery. They showed up at my house around 12:30 pm with damaged sofa and asked me to set up another appointment for them to deliver again. I call the store manager in St. Petersburg, he had no customer service skills at all. He acted like he is the one who helping me and I have to go with the option he gave me without any flexibility to my schedule even though Kane's Furniture screwed up on the order twice. I am planning to go to the corporate office on Monday hopefully they have someone can get me what I already paid for. He said on the arm all we had to do is fluff it up like a pillow. That does not work. Now the company did offer to exchange the sofa and chair for a 30% restocking fee (approx $350.00). I bought a adjustable bed in Savon Furniture Sarasota now Kanes Furniture one week ago today. I spent 6000.00 on a new adjustable bed which I have never ever done my whole life. I could have bought a car for this price. I tried out the bed when I was in the store. It seemed comfortable. I have back problems so I thought maybe this would help. I got it delivered On Monday, slept in it one night and had such a terrible terrible back ache. So I called my saleslady Pat the next day. I told her I would be back in because I was not happy. She said that was fine. So 1 week later I go back in and they tell me I have to sleep on this bed for 60 days before they will do anything about it. REALLY, I can't sleep on this bed it is killing me. They say this is their store policy.
Then they proceed to tell me that the bed better be in good condition when if they decide they would take it back but only after I sleep on it for another 60 days. They also tell me that they cannot sell this used bed once it is picked up because it is illegal, because we slept in it. However my sister bought my bed there a few weeks before. That was a floor model so it had several people lay in that one. I am confused, do you only sell new beds or floor models and new beds? Well my sister got a floor model and when it was delivered she had to bleach the cover. It was so filthy. I am totally disgusted. I worked at this store myself for 20 years and never ever treated any of our customers like this. I was always taught that the customer was right and you fix the problem, not with this store is Sarasota SAVON FURNITURE.
I also have a furniture store in the area and we always make it right for our customers, no matter what it takes. The manager of the store Brian was not willing to do anything till 60 days were over. Sure they have my 6000.00 now so they are not willing to bend. I will never ever shop in this store again and will tell every single person I know. I am from the old school, treat people the way you want to be treated and do what is right. What a hard lesson to learn. That is a lot of money to just throw to the curb. It is totally unacceptable. It was reported while the delivery men were still here and honestly I don't even think it was the one I purchased. A week later they brought me a new set with no issues except I hated it. It did not feel anything like what I tried at the store. I had to wait 60 days before I could exchange it and with that my fibromyalgia and my back seemed to get a lot worse. On the 60th day I was there picking out a new set. I also got a mattress pad only because I had a credit because the prices of them are outrageous. Yesterday the Serta box spring and mattress I bought was delivered. However the mattress pad that was given to me is not the one I bought. I called the store and they will exchange it for me but this whole experience behooves me.
I feel that someone at the warehouse should be held responsible for these errors. I really wonder if there are managers and supervisors that do their job. Another thing I could not believe was that I got a coffee table and an end table and the truck drivers put them together in the parking lot! I was shocked at this, just so not right!!! The couch and love seat are ok, but I would never purchase that style again. I'm short and I slide forward on it. My advise here is to make sure you try everything you buy while you're at the store. Sit on it, lay on it for hours if you have to. Check everything that is delivered to you before you sign anything. I do have to say that most of the furniture in Florida is junk. Get the warranty at Kane's if you get something there, at least they offer that. My salesperson Donna was great..

In November of 2012 we purchased a bonded power leather recliner. Our salesman told us bonded leather wore as well as leather. He mentioned nothing about us taking out the insurance and since we have a leather chair 20 yrs. Old and a couch 12 yrs. Old and have not one single problem (bought at a different store), we did not purchase the insurance. In Dec. Of 2013 we took pictures in of the leather peeling off. It's as thin as tissue paper. We were told they could not help us because of not purchasing the insurance. We talked to the store manager at the Ft. Myers store and were told we could buy a new back for $200.00. We called in a upholster and he told us it would cost more than the chair was worth just to do the back. He said soon the arms and seat would start to peel. Guess what, arms are peeling and the seat is starting. The chair cost was $500.00 and something. Not expensive as buying a Lazy boy, but for us it was what we could afford.
We are in our 80's and can't afford a new chair. This one is comfortable, but it is a site to look at. Bonded furniture should never be sold and if it is sold the customer should be told to buy the insurance, because within 2 yrs. the bonded leather will start peeling. We are very upset about this and hope someone will help two elderly people out. I hope outside people will read this and learn from our mistake. All furniture stores sell bonded leather and if the salesperson doesn't come forward and tell what can happen to their bonded leather purchase that is not being honest and other people go thru what we have.

During that delivery, one of the nightstands was damaged so bad, it was unrecognizable. The warehouse could have cared less, but the store manager ensured that one was delivered two weeks later. During the second purchase, the end-board on my bed set was damaged. Again the delivery manager could have cared less, and did not offer me a reasonable delivery date and set-up. DO NOT BUY from Kane's. Once the salesperson gets the sale, you are dealing with a supply chain that is broken beyond belief and one that could care less about you as a customer. Over the course of the last 6 years, I have spent thousands of dollars at Kane’s. I furnished a 3 bedroom condo in Orlando, a 3 bedroom beach area condo, and a large portion of our house in Orlando with items from Kane’s. Four of the bedroom sets that we purchased are from Magnussen Furniture called the Kentwood series. A little over a month ago I called Kane’s to say that the paint is wearing off of the sets in odd places like the front of the footboard. None of the sets that I was complaining about is more than 2-3 years old, and 2 of the sets sit in a place that is hardly ever used. Kane’s told me they could give me the name of a furniture refinisher they use, but nothing more. The furniture refinisher said she charges $85 to drive to my house and $85/hour once she is here. She suggested that I call Kane’s to have them order the paint.
After taking a month to reply, they just called to say that Magnussen can sell me a small bottle of touch up paint for $79.99. That's $249.99 to refinish a footboard and fix the problem at one of the 3 locations. A word to the wise, stay away from Magnussen Furniture products. In our case, it looks like the primer is bleeding through on all of the sets making it appear purple beneath the bright white finish. And I can tell you unequivocally that Kane’s will do nothing about it. So much for customer satisfaction guaranteed and the whole bologna about you may not keep your furniture for life, but you certainly could with our guarantee. More like you may not keep your furniture for life because it looks like crap!

This review is about Kane’s Furniture in Ocala, Florida and also Kane’s Furniture Corporate in Pinellas Park, Florida. I believe that all customers should be aware of the poor customer service after the sale before they buy anything for Kane’s Furniture anywhere in Florida. Decide on your own, but here are the indisputable facts and this is what happened to me.
I purchased a new mattress from a leading manufacturer and after 8 months of use, it was unfit to sleep on. The best way to describe the problem was like sleeping in a hole in the ground. It took a good share of effort to roll out of the hole onto a high spot. This was the same on both sides of the bed. Rotating the bed 180 degrees just rotated the problem 180 degrees. The 60 day trial period had already passed, so I was stuck with the faulty mattress. When I informed Kane’s customer service in Ocala of the problem, they sent a technician out to measure the sagging of the mattress.
The technician actually experienced the same problem as I did and called it a “resiliency” problem, but it met all the requirements of the manufacturer to do absolutely nothing. The resiliency issue measured a quarter inch where the maximum allowable was three quarter inch. In my opinion, it was a firmness problem, not resiliency problem. In about 3 hours, the store called back and said they did not have to do a thing because it met the factory requirements and have a nice weekend.
After meeting with a store manager, ** and the salesman, **, they said they would take a “Special Interest” in getting some type of resolution. Well, neither had the courage to call me back and assigned ** another store manager to break the news. ** said he would call the manufacturer and try to get me some type of replacement bed. I am still waiting for his call on the results. My issue was passed from one manager to another like a football. The salesman had already collected his commission, so he sure didn't care one way or another.
After about 10 days, I wrote to Kane’s Corporate Headquarters and have yet to hear from them. They have already made their profit out of this sale, so why would they care? Looks like I am now stuck with a $2500 faulty mattress that I can't use and neither the store or the manufacturer will recognize. Never again will I buy anything from any Kane’s Furniture. And that is unfortunate for them because I need to replace three major items in the coming year.

#1 Kanes would only let us Finance 1 leather couch and a table. Told us there was some rule that said they were only allowed to have a max of 2000.00 per each room, whatever that means? Dinning room and living room are two different rooms.
#2 My wife wanted to order black leather and was really bent on having black leather couches. Against her better judgement she went with Jade couches because we didn't have too. But, again we could only finance 1 couch.. so we had to purchase the second outright. 1300.00 paid that night. Informed us of their leather protection policy etc. said that with your purchase you get a leather kit that is enough protectant to cover for 5 yrs and then you can refill. When inquired about cleaner for both couches they claimed the one package was for both. This is totally not true. If I had to purchase a couch outright for 1300.00 that is an entirely separate sale, should come with its own leather care package. Next, I informed them that I'm financing and that too is a separate transaction. I should receive another package. Took me two weeks to get them to give me another package.
#3 Our deliveries were a joke. Let's start with the furniture guy dropping out couch outside. Luckily it was still in box and in styro and not our glass top table..[I'm getting to that next]. The couches after having them for a week appear to be ok for now. Supposedly all leather and no vinyl. Now back to our dining room table. The installer didn't know how to put the table together for one. Two, he broke the table while installing it. Claimed they could run out and get a repair part.. Ha... not so..glad I told him no on that. 3rd the head installer refused our 4th dining room chair. Said it was damaged, told them to take ALL of the chairs and table etc back and bring me new not broken. Wanted to leave bits and pieces.. Told them no. They called the supervisor said delivery again in another week. [yesterday 3/12/2014] I get my table. Still missing my chair. Was only told to bring three chairs, presumably they are the same chairs as last time. The table I purchased was Newtown 5 pc Dining. It's really nice looking but there are wood wedges around the top of the table that screw into the legs. They do not fit properly and if tightened too much will snap in half.
What number am I on now.. yes, #4. No one knows anything about any other job but their own and it's not their dept so they don't care. You always have to wait another week and it's no one's fault for your order being wrong. Customer Service is a joke. The rep I just spoke with said "if only I had known yesterday I could have fixed this!" I exclaimed, "I'm surprised you didn't, they told me someone would call me back but never did so I'm calling now." She then replied, "that's ok I was off anyway.." [OMG seriously] how can you make your last statement then tell me you were off.

Purchased a sofa and loveseat in Port Charlotte, September of 2013. Five months later is peeling. We did purchase on sale as is no warranty. When we returned to store they said there is nothing they can do. I realize they have no legal responsibility but a least a moral one and business one. I believe after reading the other complaints they knew there was a problem with this product and sold it anyway. As is to me is when I know the problem and choose to purchase anyway (scratch and dent). I NOT happy with Kane’s and will not purchase there again.

Purchased a "Whole Leather" recliner sofa and chair, specified that we wanted the entire sofa and chair to be leather, not bonded leather or vinyl. Paid almost $5000.00 for the recliner sofa and chair, "Lifetime Warranty". 2 weeks after purchase the reclining mechanism bent, my wife weighs 105 lbs, so it was not overloaded by any means. It was replaced by Kanes. 2 weeks later same issue, no response, after a trip to the store, they would supply the parts, "It's a parts lifetime warranty" but we had to pay for the labor.
Here we are 4 years later, the Whole leather sofa has cracks in the VINYL side panels, NOW they say the VINYL is covered only for a year. Well, WHAT ABOUT OUR WHOLE LEATHER ISSUE, the warranty dept. now states that anywhere the person touches in the seated position is leather, the rest is vinyl...... They refuse to do anything. Clearly they are a fraudulent company, my next call to the State Attorney Generals Office, they need to be prosecuted, false advertising, misrepresenting products. Peeling Soma 3 piece group - We purchased 3 pieces of furniture from Kanes in Lakeland and spent around $3000, and after about a year the furniture started peeling. Technician came out, took pics, then as we were waiting for a response from the manufacturer the furniture just kept getting worse. They came out and replaced some of the leather on 2 different occasions, but each time they came out more sections were peeling so bad it was just embarrassing. By the way, the salesman told me my group was leather which wasn't even real leather - it is some type of bonded material. NOW after many complaints from me they say they cannot do anymore to fix my peeling furniture, so much for furniture so good it is guaranteed for life which is a crock. They should be sued for misrepresentation of products. So if you are in the market to buy furniture and you pass by a Kanes store it would be to your best interest to keep on driving.

My fiancé and I spent quite a bit of money on a bonded/blended/whatever "leather" sofa, love seat and chair at Kane's in 2010. That sofa, love seat and chair are now falling apart because the material is flaking off. We have to cover it over with blankets because it's so embarrassing. We paid extra for protection and they offer a lifetime warranty. Scam!!!
We called the store to explain the situation and asked for a resolution and they told us it is not covered. What a joke of a store and what a joke of a customer service experience. We were told that if the same furniture was no longer available it would be replaced by a newer version when the sales person was trying to sell us this furniture. Now when the furniture is crap, they don't want to do anything about it. I suppose we will need to file a complaint with the better business bureau to get this resolved.

We bought a lovely SOMO power recliner loveseat in 2011. Within a year of purchase, the fabric started to flake off in tiny pieces. It continued into the next year (2013) although used and carefully maintained six months of the year. We took pictures and entered a complaint with Kanes. A technician inspected the unit and we were told that nothing could be done. There was no specific reason for the flaking and Kanes's clearly notes that certain things are not covered but we cannot see one in their brochure that is truly the cause of the flaking. Only speculation. Their brochure states "quality is so good" that their furniture is guaranteed for life. The unit is now 3 yrs old and looks dreadful. We are so disappointed that nothing could be done for us. I will be taking the next step and writing to the Corporate Dispute Resolution Manager. We should be compensated for this. It was not a cheap piece of furniture. I am reluctant to buy anything else from Kane's.

Having just read nearly 200 reviews and complaints about Kane's products and worthless lifetime warranty claims I feel Kane's should be sued right out of business or shut down by the state attorney general. My wife and I have had the same problems that many other complainants share. In November 2010, we bought a power sofa and recliner from Kane's St. Petersburg store. The salesperson assured us that the leather was of the highest quality and even convinced us to buy the UUV3 for added peace of mind. Supposedly any and every problem would be covered as long as we owned them.
Within about a year the headrest and armrest where I sit started flaking and coming apart. Kane's sent out a guy who took pictures and sprayed some gunk on the leather. I made it clear his "fix" was unacceptable. Eventually a couple of new covers arrived (from Southern Motion, Inc) and the bad ones were replaced. However, by this time other areas started to deteriorate. Now the love seat is flaking. My wife and I never sit in the love seat. Only occasional guests sit there. I have played some "phone tag" with Kane's. Finally I talked to the manager, Brad. He said Kane's no longer sells Southern Motion and we are simply out luck trying to have Kane's make repairs. I strongly urge everyone to avoid Kane's. They are selling inferior furniture and a phony lifetime warranty.

I paid over 1200 dollars for the set. In two years both pieces peeled. Kanes came out two or three times to look at it, ordered parts from the manufacturer but never fixed the furniture. I also bought the extra insurance in case of an accident.
They would not honor the repair. They never returned my calls. I always had to call them. They have a recording saying "Your furniture is guaranteed for life." That is a joke. Do not buy from Kanes. Bought a 3 piece sectional from Kane's in November 2013. Was delivered and one piece, didn't match due to back panels not lining up. You could see the inner workings of the sectional. Kane's delivered a replacement section that was perfect. A few days later, the back of the other piece fell back and was out of alignment with the rest of the sectional. Kane's sent out a tech on Xmas Eve day and he put a few screws here and there. That quick fix didn't work. Didn't address my concern about the storage lid rubbing into cushion. Kane's delivered another section to replace that and that didn't match either. I requested a complete new sectional because now all I have is a mismatched set. They delivered a complete new sectional and again one section did not match.
I asked them to replace that section but please inspect it before they come. They delivered another piece and again the back flaps did not cover the inner workings of the couch. I finally asked for my money back. They took the couch and I had to put a hold on my funds. Also asked them not to back their truck on my driveway but they did anyway and now I have a cracked driveway. Don't know what my recourse is. This wasn't the first time I bought from Kane's. I purchased enough furniture to fill 3 homes over a 8 year period. They used to sell good quality furniture but now it is just junk from China. Also I never received my several return calls from the corporate office. Needless to say after missing several hours from my employment and all the other problems with this sectional, I will never buy from them in the future.

I wish I would have read all the horrible reviews before making the mistake of purchasing anything from Kanes Furniture. I am pregnant and decided to buy a bigger bed. Went to Kanes, made my selection and scheduled a delivery date for the following week and a half. They said that the delivery person would contact me the day before delivery to give me a 4 hour time window. I called before scheduled date to confirm the delivery since I hadn't heard from them. Come to find out they sold more beds than were available so the bed was in backorder. Absolutely NO apology when I called. The exact words from the customer service rep were "Oh, so no one called you to inform you of this or cancel your delivery? They were supposed to call you" I said "NO, that's why I am calling".
Then they proceed to tell me "It is not scheduled to be here till sometime in January, so you should get it delivered by end of January to beginning of February but we won't know if/when it will be available for another month though. This is just an estimate." (3 months from my date of purchase and this pregnant person is sleeping on the floor!) I was promised a call back that week. I patiently waited for a call back only to have to call myself and go around in circles with the rep again 3 weeks later. I finally spoke with a manager and the manager apologized and said she would personally call me the next day to schedule my new delivery date. The MANAGER never called.... I had to yet again put the burden on me to do the follow up call to her. She stated she was busy on meetings all day and couldn't call me. I have never received such horrid customer service, especially by a manager.
After patiently dealing with them, I said enough is enough and asked for a refund (hopefully they actually go through with it because as I have read, they give a hard time with refunds as well). I will give my money to a company that actually respects their customers and wants to do honest business. Sadly for them, I have several more rooms in my home to furnish, so they just lost out on a minimum of $15,000 simply for their lack of follow through with a customer. ***NOTE*** That same day, I called another furniture company that had almost the identical piece which was in stock and I was able to purchase it and schedule a delivery date for 2 days later! I will be spending the rest of my money with them.
Always ask if the piece is in stock and get it in writing on your purchase slip. If you have to do lots of jumping through hoops and follow up calls like I did, write down whom you spoke with, dates and times and what transpired in the conversation. Although salesmen are eager to sell you the piece in order to get commission and are nice to you, their main focus is to secure your money and not disclose to you that the item may not be in stock. 3 months to wait for a piece is just ridiculous.

Since only a couple days passed since Black Friday and we were inconvenienced by all of this, I asked if we could get the 20 percent off Black Friday special included. They told us NO (!) and I explained to them that when I was managing a store of that size I was able to be more flexible with customers that spent thousands of dollars. I encountered dissatisfied customers almost on a daily basis, many of which who had problems similar to the ones already described (3-4 botched delivery attempts, hidden damages, bad product, etc.). Oftentimes the furniture that was to be loaded for next-day delivery would be damaged. Even furniture that was "specially inspected" at the customer's request and was pre-approved sometimes had a blatant defect but was still put in the loading bays to be delivered. There also was a time when a customer bought a couch and had to have another one delivered because the first one was actually used before. And.... oh yeah, they also give their crews wax-like markers of varying colors to use behind your back in case there is damage done upon delivery. You might not notice the defect immediately but down the road you will.

Before we made a purchase for the sofa, we went to several furniture stores including Kane's and tried out sofas. We did this for over a year. The sofa was delivered on April 12. The delivery men unwrapped the sofa and set it in place. The driver looked at the sofa and noticed the 3 sections on the back were not even. We saw it the same time as he did. He called the delivery office and told them about the problem with the sofa. The drivers tried to fix the sofa's back to no AVAIL. I also talked to the office and told them about the problem. The week of April 29, we went into Kane's store about all the problems with the sofa and scheduled the repair tech. We also told our saleslady, Marika **, about issues with the sofa. We also tried out other sofas as well. On May 11 the tech came out to see the problems and took pictures. He said that he would take the pictures and information into the store manager. The tech said that he could not adjust anything - it was all factory set. The tech said that Kane's would call us. Michelle called from Kane's. She said that there would be a $20 restocking fee, etc., and there would only be $503.00 left to purchase another sofa. If it cost over that amount, we would have to pay the difference. I told her NO! On May 13 we went in again to the Kane's store and talked to Michelle. She was eager to resolve the problems. She showed us the picture of the sofa. She made a list of the problems (see list below). She said this was normal for a new sofa and therefore nothing could be done.
While we were talking, a man was listening and walking around us. He spoke up and told her to go ahead and exchange the sofa for another one. We saw Michelle two times that week. She made a list of all the problems we had with the sofa at that time. We tried all the sofas again and could not find one that would fit us. On May 20 we went into Kane's store again and tried all the reclining sofas. We could not find one that worked for us. We told Michelle that we could not find anything that would work. Michelle said that she would be away on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday, May 23, she would be back and discuss this matter with the store manager and call me. We told her we wanted our money refunded.
On May 23 Michelle called and said that they would not refund the purchase price. She said we would have to keep the sofa or pick out another sofa. She had discussed it with the manager. They would not refund, but they knew our problems and were trying to accommodate us. I told her that in the contract it said "refund at the manager's discretion." She again said NO REFUND. I said again, "We have tried all the sofas and could not find one." She said that we would have until June 15th to decide. 1) Three sections across the top of the sofa do not match; 2) Clunk and screech noise on the right side of sofa when closing the foot rest (loud); 3) Jerks when opens out and snap sound on right side (loud).
4) Cushions below the headrest push out and up against neck (and causes headache) on the right side; 5) When fully reclined, the back pushes on back up (into stomach area) on the right side; 6) Length of the chaise legs' opening is too short for our legs; 7) Your heel hangs over and cuts into tendon just above the heel (I was not able to walk without pain and limping for a time because of this); 8) When full reclining, chaise/foot does not want to come up in a sitting position on the right side; 9) One side of the chaise leg will not come all the way up. You have to pull it up yourself. It does not want to stay up either at times. This is on the left side; 10) THE FLOOR SAMPLE SOFA AT KANE'S DOES NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS!!!
Because of the reasons stated, I feel that we have tried very hard to find a sofa that would work for us. We have tried everything in the store. We have seen other reclining sofas, including my son's, as well as two of my neighbors that do not have these problems. We feel it is only fair to ask for a full refund.

They delivered the wrong furniture, took 3 months to do it, refused to take the wrong furniture back without hefty restocking fees (even though it was not used), insisted on charging a delivery/pickup fee to deliver the corrected furniture. The salesman also totally misled the information regarding both the mechanical warranties and the UV3 Leather warranties. Insist on reading all materials first, if you want to consider doing business with them... Make sure that you have a clause that protects you from unreasonable backorder delays. Make sure that the receipt you receive from them is filled out completely and they have also signed it. Make sure that the product number written on the invoice is the same as for the product that you have bought. Take a picture of the product that you have bought and any other actions you can do to protect yourself.

Don't make the same mistake we did. Don't buy from Kane's. The worst experience ever since our first visit. My wife and I selected all our furniture for about 45 minutes. Then, we asked for help from one of their sales staff because nobody asked us if we needed anything. We are not a poor looking couple. After we got a selection, I asked for a discount, and the manager gave it to me; however, Kane's asked me for that money 2 months later. They simply did adjustments to my agreement and charged me without notice. When I came back to that store to ask what was going on, a manager said that I should not be worried, and she will help me to correct it. By that time, I was receiving my furniture in pieces for about 4 months in total. They were coming damaged or in a different style. It was such a mess, and we paid for it a lot earlier.
Two months later, Kane's is asking for that discount money again. I called corporate to try to understand why and nothing. I came back to the store. I bought my furniture and talked to the same manager. Again, she said not to worry; she will help to fix it. Six months later, I'm receiving a collection notice threatening me that they will report this to a credit bureau! What? I paid everything and they want more. People, watch all Kane's stores. Don't make the same mistake we did; you will find a better alternative.
