    I purchased a sleep sofa from Jennifer Convertibles in-store. I had two of their sofas before and I like their price range. Their sales rep was very pleasant and helpful but they delivered the wrong couch and they still have not delivered the correct one. The delivery crew was not the problem. They came later than they were allowed to come to the building. I had called the store and the store person had called her supervisor. They were supposed to be notified not to come because they wouldn't be allowed to deliver it, but they were never notified. It's just idiotic and ridiculous. I'm sitting with someone else’s couch. I have no couch and I’m expecting a houseful of company.

    I bought almost whole house furniture but the way they treat us and give us customer service is very bad. My mirror attached to dresser is leaning forward and is about to fall on anybody who pass from there. Called customer service so many times. Also called Regional Manager John **. I don't think they care about somebody die or get hurt. They care about how to pull money from people and make people fool. Once you bought furniture from Jennifer Convertibles then you are stuck. You are money stuck and you're life stuck.

    Bought couch on 1/31/16. Delivery was set for 2/9/16. Paid the extra money for couch to be broken down. They decided to break the couch down in front of the sidewalk in front of my house at the bus stop. Have this on video. Sent back damaged couch. They offered 100.00 refund for inconvenience on Feb. 9 but have yet to see any refund in my bank account as of yet. Promised new couch delivery on 3/13/16 and we called them to confirm delivery day before and now they say delivery is on 3/29/16. No one called us at all about any new delivery dates.

    They do not know how to run a business. Poor poor customer service. Once they have your cash they do what they want when they want. They are not concerned you don't have a couch. Only swiping your card is of utmost importance. When you try to call the manager which we tried more than four times he is not available or can't talk because he doesn't want to deal with his store BS to you. They do what they want folks. You don't matter. Only your cash matters!!!

    Updated on 3/18/2016: I reached out to the district manager Michael ** by email and phone and to date no response. Poor, poor management and service.

    The sales rep was nice and everything was good in the store. But, when they delivered my bedroom set, a nightstand was damaged. I took a picture and sent it, and I have to wait four to six weeks to get a new one. Also, Jennifer Convertibles was supposed to deliver my furniture on a Sunday, but it got delivered on Tuesday because their truck got stuck.

    I got a sofa sectional and an ottoman from Jennifer Convertibles. This is the second time we bought a sofa from them in two and a half years, and so far, they're very good. The sales rep was pleasant, and let us browse freely. When we had a question, he was available to answer. He also helped us with measurements. At times I felt a little rushed, so I thought maybe he was working with another client, but I guess that's just the way he worked with people.

    The delivery crew was fine. There were three gentlemen. It was a little tricky because we had to take apart our sliding door to get the sofa in, and I was a little worried because when they did bring the sofa in from the truck and into our house, it wasn't covered in plastic. Also, they set down the bare sofa on the sidewalk that had twigs so I was clenching a little bit. I thought it was going to get dirty from the outside ground, but we were able to brush it off, so it wasn't really a big deal after. I would recommend them to my friends.

    I purchased a full set of couches from Jennifer Convertibles before and that's why we came back recently to get a couch and two matching loveseats. The salesman, Felix, was good. He was knowledgeable, friendly and outgoing. Felix and the comfort we got were the reasons we decided to choose them over other retailers. They did a great job with the delivery. The two delivery guys unwrapped everything outside and brought it into my house carefully. I had little sticky pads waiting for them. They applied them on and put the couches and loveseats exactly where I wanted them. Everything was perfect. They cleaned up and nothing was left behind.

    I live right at the block from Jennifer Convertibles, and I purchased a few items like a recliner loveseat, two bar stools, and two bed frames. Apart from the quality of the items, I buy from them for the convenience of not having to run around and find other places, and I really liked the look of their products. A lot of them were modernized, like the bar stools that I bought.

    The whole buying in-store process was great, but I do have a complaint because when it came down to receiving my couches, I waited two months. They told me it should arrive within about two weeks. When I called to ask where it was, they told me that there was an incident with the truck driver and they broke the couch, so they had to ship a new one. Nobody called me about it and I had to reach out and call myself. I was extremely upset because it was already past the two-week mark. How long were they going to wait before they reached out to me?

    I agreed to the second time. Upset as I was, I was trying to be patient. So the second time, they told me to give them another two weeks to send out a brand new one. They did apparently, but once again, something happened to the couch and nobody called me. It was about a month and a week and I gave them a call at the store. The salesperson who took care of my stuff contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer said that the truck broke down. At this point, I was flipping out because it's thousands of dollars and the manufacturer messed up twice and not called me. I've bought so many products from them and gave them so much business.

    The salesperson spoke to a higher power up there with the manufacturing company and got me a reimbursement of a hundred bucks, which is nothing compared to what I spent but better than nothing. I received $100 direct deposited, then they told me to give them another two weeks. The last time that they were supposed to deliver my couch, they postponed and instead of two weeks, I had to wait a total of three. I was very upset, and I got another $50 reimbursement. I bought the couches early December and it was February 14th when they were delivered.

    I have my couches now, but the delivery was very frustrating because as they were putting one of the couches, they chipped a little bit of my wall, and it's a newly renovated house. I saw it all happen. I'm very happy with the product, but I probably won't go back to Jennifer Convertibles. It sucks because they have good products but the manufacturers messed it up for them.

    My experience with Jennifer Convertibles in Yonkers Central Avenue, Central Park Avenue was beautiful. The ladies and the guy I dealt with were excellent and awesome. I got a 100% leather navy blue set from them. I prefer them because other companies only offer bonded which is not 100% leather. For me, bonded wasn't good. The sales guy offered me a nice sales price for President Day which was awesome, so I got the purchase for a cheaper price. Also, the salesperson had the same exact bed in his apartment and he was able to show me a picture.

    It was amazing that when I picked it from the store, I knew what I wanted because I saw it from another store. I had previously gone to Grand Concourse in October where I was offered maple leaf leather, but I really wanted 100% leather. They had the navy blue sofa sitting on a display and it blew my attention because I have never seen navy blue leather. The price was very steep at that time and they had offered some type of warranty protection and some down terms.

    On the contrary, the delivery service was horrible. The guy asked me for a tip and I told him I pay for delivery. He told me, "Yeah, well it's a third party." And I forwarded that to Jennifer Convertibles because I didn't see why would he ask me for money. Jennifer Convertibles called me back, telling that they were trying to speak to the people but I never heard anymore back from them. I was asking for only one thing -- I am concerned about the package for my warranty on my furniture. They were supposed to deliver it, but I hadn't received it yet.

    I ordered a Hopson Brighton Parrot Leather sofa on 10/23/15 to be delivered in 6-8 weeks. After this time had elapsed, I was told an additional month was needed because the color of the 2 pieces did not match. After delivery on 2/6/16, I noticed that the cushions were of uneven sizes. The quality of the leather was not as stated by the sales representative: it is bonded leather, not genuine leather. The back cushion buttons are tufted to the foam inserts so that the zippered cover cannot ever be removed.

    Also, the back cushions are not fully leather so that they cannot be reversed. It is obvious that this was a rush job due to the poor workmanship and the non-conformity of the materials. I have purchased leather sectional sofas from Jennifer in the past without incidence. I have contacted Customer Service several times and provided photographs. To date, I have not received any response, other than the initial request for photographs. I would like a full refund upon return of sofa.

    Went to the store and placed an order for a sectional on 2/15/16. Our salesman said "let me go make sure we have it in stock" . Comes back and they have it in stock and arrange for delivery for 3/6/16 (almost 3 weeks to the date of purchase) Reuben calls and leaves me a voicemail at 7:04pm that they were just notified that the manufacturer was unable to get the delivery to the warehouse and so they are cancelling the delivery for this Sunday. It will be at LEAST 10 days before it gets to the warehouse and they will contact us with a new delivery date.

    Try calling the store right back and the line is busy for 50 minutes. We get in the car and drive to the store. Told that it's because it was on sale. The whole store had sales, so is every delivery delayed? I went around and every single couch and piece of furniture was on sale. So who lied? The salesmen when he said it was in stock? Was it a lie that the manufacturer was delayed? Was it a lie that we couldn't get the delivery sooner because the truck was already full? It was 1 lie or excuse after another.

    They had nothing in stock to accommodate us considering we just threw out the couch this earlier so we could clean the living room as they requested free of all furniture. I have family coming in from out of state next weekend and now we are left without a couch. The only thing Reuben offered was try to sell us a floor model cream colored couch. He said "they are trying to sell it because they need to space for new piece". Was he kidding me? Our order was for a sectional and in charcoal gray. Not even close. Highly disappointed with the service.

    Forgot to mention. Reuben was finishing up a sale before us and they ordered a couch and loveseat, electric fireplace, and a white bedroom set. He tells them that they will have it delivered this Sunday, 2 days from now. Really? How are they getting all of their items in 2 days and we can't get a sectional in 3 weeks? He said because our item was on sale. I said "well so is all of their items because I heard you read the list off and all of those items are on the sale according to all of the advertisements laid out across the entire store".

    I searched through the website to purchase a sofa and loveseat. Found a pair for $899. I added them to my cart. When I clicked through the pages to complete address/payment, the cart showed EMPTY. Thought this was strange. So I searched for the same sofa and loveseat, and the price jumped $400+!!! I printed my original cart (as is a habit of mine), so I have the proof. This is almost like a BAIT & SWITCH except Jennifer Convertibles jacks up the price!!! Very, very disappointed.

    And when you call Customer Service, it is an outgoing message directing you to call another phone number. And then another outgoing message directing you to call another phone number. Until finally, I get an outgoing message that says, "Leave a message," because of their high call volume. I have been calling for the past 3 hours!! No success. Must be some unhappy customers calling.

    Look at the image attached... pics don't lie: 1) MY ORIGINAL CART WITH THE $899 DEAL, 2) SHOWS THE PRICE INCREASES AFTER MY CART SUSPICIOUSLY EMPTIES! No wonder Jennifer Convertibles is doing poorly. It used to be such a great furniture store. I will take my business elsewhere.     I bought two couches and a bed from Jennifer Convertibles in-store. The representative I spoke with was good and knowledge. The delivery crew got everything in and they knew what they were doing. My issue with them was that my furniture was three weeks late and they only said I have to wait. Then the bed came and it was broken. They took the headboard back. So I'm in the mercy of waiting again – reaching nine weeks now. I call them and there’s nothing I can get through to anybody.

    We ordered a sectional at the store, the couch was a different price than the promotional sticker on the sample but loving it we purchased it and paid in full. Delivery date was guaranteed to be March 1st. (We made the purchase three weeks before scheduled delivery.) The delivery date was guaranteed by the sales rep and the district manager and documented on our receipt.

    The day before they did not call to confirm so we called the store to find out the sectional was not even in the warehouse yet. Never even received a courtesy call to tell us this nor did we receive an alternate delivery date. Followed up the next day (3/1) with the store to find out since the sales rep we dealt with wasn't in, we couldn't be helped. Went to the store today (3/2) to find out it "MAY BE" another two weeks or so. Want to cancel our order now because of how unreliable they have been so far and was told we can't even do that in the store. Unreliable service and horrible customer care leaves you feeling hopeless.

    Extremely disappointed in my experience with Jennifer Convertibles. My husband and I bought a sofa in November 2015 in which the salesperson talked us into their 3 year interest free program. Not once did he even mention deferred interest or go over specifics. I went in the next day and signed without reading the fine print (my mistake - never will I sign a paper without reading everything again). Our debt was held by Synchrony Financial/GE and they made our monthly payments what would work out to a three year term. Well lo and behold we get smacked with a deferred interest charge of over $1000 in November. I called the bank who said they can do nothing about it and I'd need to speak with the store who could credit our interest back. I looked over my contract which says 12 months interest free.

    I contacted the store which took them two weeks to get back to me and after much persistence on my part finally got the manager to respond that they can't do anything and it's up to the bank. Now both parties are pointing fingers at the other and I'm beyond frustrated. I understand ultimately I should have read the fine print however I feel mislead by the employee who sold us the sofa and by the bank who never informed us our interest period was ending nor did they make our monthly payments reflect the 12 month period. To add insult to injury we've had the money to pay off this sofa the entire time and we have excellent credit and have always paid above the minimum balance. I don't understand why Jennifer would risk losing a customer over a deceitful interest charge that they don't explain to their customers.

    I have had the most horrible experience with Jennifer Convertibles. I decided to purchase a sectional couch from this company when buying my home 6 months ago. I bought the couch, which was pricey and had issues from day one. The couch began to fall apart and I immediately contacted customer service. There is no published customer service number, so I went to the website and put in a case. I didn't receive a phone call until weeks later!!! Once they called me and emailed me back, I waited again for a month for a part to be repaired. The guy came and repaired it.

    The couch then started to fall apart in another area, I called and after a month, they stated they would replace the piece and have someone come out. Well, they still haven't come out to repair this and I am going on 6 months with an open ticket. They do not respond to emails at all unless I send about 5, there is no direct customer service number and this company is just a joke. The sales guy was so quick to sell me the couch and then walk away, I'm so disappointed in this company and I will NEVER purchase from them again.

    To be fair, my 1st delivery was cancelled due to snow. No problem. Reschedule for 2 WEEKS later... still ok. Then morning of delivery, call to tell me "we got bumped from the schedule" - but they will come tomorrow on Sunday. OK... from 8 to 12. Call later confirms delivery window from 7 am to 11 on a Sunday (SuperBowl Sunday no less) ok... call at 11 am... "Sorry your stuff went to Manhattan blah. They will be there 4-7, will call 1 hour before." So at 7 pm, out couch and loveseat arrived.

    6 days later the seam at the back of the love seat has ripped in three places. Called cust service. NO CALL from "tech" who will come to the house to fix. Come on already... Bad delivery service and bad quality furniture that ripped after 6 days!!! I am so unhappy, and it's not just me. Others have had similar experience as I read. Similar experience with store manager, was no help either. Not interested in accommodating for inconvenience.

    The sales rep at Jennifer Convertibles was great and the delivery crew did what they had to do quickly. Then I called them because I needed them to come up and look at the furniture I bought from them because there were a couple of things wrong with it. So someone came out to take a look at it and we're waiting for a phone call to see if they're going to repair it or what they're going to do with it.

    I also bought a recliner chair for my mother online and it was hard because we couldn't test it out. So when we got it, within 20 minutes, we called in back to try to see if we can purchase a different one because it wasn't suitable for my mother who was really tall and the back of the chair can't reach her shoulders. It was not comfortable for her. They said since it's already dropped off, there's nothing they could do for us. So that was a bummer as I spent a lot of money in that place. It's only been 20 minutes since they dropped it off and they couldn't even do a store credit for us to get something else. We don't want to return it, we just want to get something different. But they wouldn't allow it.

    My sister-in-law had a sofa from Jennifer Convertibles. It looks sturdier compared to others. Around Christmas when there was a wonderful sale going, I had purchased a brown leather recliner sofa and a brown leather recliner chair with the nailheads around the front of the arm. I like the whole sofa but I like that the recliner chair is really comfortable. When I was at the store, the rep was very patient and answered my questions. I was very concerned about the pullout bed's bar breaking. I was gonna get that first. He showed me how sturdy that was and that made me feel better, but I opted to get the recliner chairs. Also, the guys that delivered the furniture were on time and set it up quickly. Each person I had interacted with at Jennifer Convertibles has been very nice. My experience was a 10 - very pleasant and enjoyable.

    My bonded leather sofa and love seat receive very light use. The set is 3 years old and the leather is peeling. What was described to me as leather is a thin coating that is now peeling off. We also have a lifetime warranty but apparently it doesn't cover peeling. The product is definitely defective. It was expensive as well and this experience is disappointing.

    We purchased couches and a dining room set from Jennifer Convertibles. We went in and we picked what we wanted. We were happy with the quality, although I’m not so happy with the dining room set chairs anymore. I’m not comfortable with the cushioning in the seat. We’ve had it for two months and they are flattening out. And we’re not huge people.

    The delivery team was very courteous and very respectful. I told them to be careful with my front door and they were very good to make sure that they didn’t touch the door. They put everything together. I had one complaint that I had marked down on the ticket and I haven’t heard anything from them. When I called them for the chairs in my kitchen, I also have to call them back for the couch because there was a scratch in the leather. I also wished they would have had the furniture delivered when they said it would. It kept getting pushed off because they were waiting for the container. Other than that, everything went smooth and it was very easy.

    I saw a beige queen size sleeper couch that I like from Jennifer Convertibles and ordered it from their store in Milford. I took advantage of the "no interest, pay monthly" thing. I paid extra, though, because I wanted the cushions extra firm and they did come out nicely. The memory foam that I thought I was going to get was different, but they said that's the one that came with it. Their delivery guys were fine and they opened it up for me so that I could see the couch, since I wanted to make sure that I got the memory foam mattress.

    I was, however, disappointed in the pillows they sent because they're the same color as my couch. When I saw it at Jennifer Convertibles, they have some type of contrasting pillow, more of a darker brownish. So I called and a girl that worked there told me that was how they sent them. I'm now thinking of taking my four pillows and going up there to see if I can exchange them. Other than that, I'm happy with my couch and the quality is nice. I'd recommend Jennifer Convertibles.

He took the time to understand what I was looking for and helped us find it.     I ordered a left arm facing sectional from the Totowa, NJ location and was told it would take 2-4 weeks since the color I wanted was a special order. The initial delivery date was to be no later than 2/2. There was a snow storm around the time the sofa was done/ready for delivery which pushed back my delivery to 2/7 (Superbowl Sunday). The delivery arrived yesterday and it was a right arm facing sectional which is the WRONG ITEM!!! The delivery guys double checked my sales receipt to make sure this was an incorrect delivery and they confirmed. When I spoke to the manager of the store over the phone after the delivery guys left, he informed me that it was the manufacturer's error and it would take a few weeks to replace the sofa. I was left with a house full of people over for Superbowl and no couch to sit on!

    I spoke to the manager today with an update on when the correct sofa would be ready and was told it would take 2-3 weeks and that nothing could be done for me as far as an additional discount for THEIR error since the price of the sofa was already so low. It sounded like the manager at the store could care less about the mix-up and simply offered me the replacement option of 2-3 weeks blaming this time frame and the "no additional discount" on corporate. I called the corporate headquarters to complain and they also disregarded my situation by telling me that this would have to be taken up with the regional manager. They were at least decent enough to give me his name & number. The problem is when I called this number and put in the person's extension, it immediately lead to vmail saying the person was unavailable.

    I called back numerous times during the day and the line would either go direct to hang up or just an automated message that stated they were unavailable. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of service and I am now stuck waiting on this replacement couch for another 2-3 weeks which would make the delivery time on this about 2 months because I placed the order on 1/2. There was no attempt to try and make this right/better for the customer. In their minds, an additional 2-3 weeks for the correct couch when the error was on THEIR part is considered "expedited" service. Needless to say, I will never be going back to Jennifer Convertibles and will tell MANY more people to STEER CLEAR of this place as well! I'm pretty sure this type of mix up is not happening at Raymour & Flanigan!

    After purchasing and paying in full for a couch and coffee table, I was given the date of February 2nd, 2016 for delivery between the hours of 3-7 pm. I waited around all day, called the store who could not contact the delivery men and didn't hear back from them until 7:45. They told me they could come at 9 pm. I said that wouldn't work since I live in a garden community and did not want to disrupt my neighbors. I spoke to the woman at the furniture store and she said for all of the hassle that she was going to request my money back for the delivery fee. The delivery men said they could deliver the furniture the next morning at 9:00 am and were an hour late again. I called the store back to follow up and see if I could get my money back for delivery and they assured me I would. The furniture finally came and while the couch was fine, the table had a huge crack in it and had to go back.

    I called the manager the next day to see when it would come in and to make sure I would be reimbursed for the delivery expenses. His name is Shaun and works at store in Union on Route 22. He said the table wouldn't come for two weeks, and again I would have to wait for the delivery. When I asked for the delivery fee back he said they wouldn't give it back to me and offered no explanation as to why. At this point I am frustrated and angry that this has taken up three days of my time, that I had to have guests sit on the floor, and that I have had to eat on a file cabinet. The delivery people mocked me when I said I would like my money back for the delivery by saying "you already paid for it." Jennifer Convertibles has a lot to learn about customer service and keeping customers. I have learned my lesson and will never pay beforehand for services not yet rendered.

    Purchased a couch in November, it was delivered in January. Exactly 12 days after it was delivered the center seat on the couch began collapsing. Phoned Jennifer, about a week and a half later they had a contractor come look at the couch and take photos. I have heard nothing since. This was over two weeks ago. They keep telling me no report was received and they will fix the couch. I do not pay full price for a refurbished couch. This is ridiculous. I have had the piece two weeks. It is clearly a manufacturing defect.

    I also do not understand why this is taking so long. The return policy clearly states the piece will be repaired, OR it can be replaced, OR I can get a refund. When I spoke to customer service they tell me I can only have it replaced and that I agreed the goods were conforming at delivery. I am not sure why this lady thinks she is a lawyer. Yes the goods were conforming upon delivery, however due to the defect in manufacturing two weeks after delivery the goods broke. What are you going to do about this Jennifer? This is STILL UNRESOLVED!

    We bought a couch and a loveseat and an accent chair from Jennifer Convertibles because our chair matched our living room set that we bought ten years ago so the selection was right for us. Amelia and Felix were very nice. Felix spent an exorbitant amount of time with us which we needed. We didn't always get our phone calls returned in a timely fashion but they were very friendly, very convivial. They gave us special discounts and offered design consultations. Felix went out of his way to try to accommodate our needs.

    The delivery was promised before the holiday and we were having company so we needed the pull-out couch. It was written on our contract when it was going to be delivered but it wasn't delivered for another month. Felix did his best to compensate for that, which was very nice. The other issue we had was that we were told that we couldn't return the items that we bought and there was another piece that we wanted, a hall tree. And they couldn't bring it to the showroom. I didn't want to buy a piece without first checking out the quality. However, I saw it at another furniture store, a competitor and not only was it returnable it was also free shipping, which wasn't the case at Jennifer. On top of that, the price was way better. I would've been happy to give my business to Jennifer because Felix and Amelia were so nice, and that makes a big difference. But because of the no return policy, my spouse and I won't deal with them again.

    We've used Jennifer Convertibles before and bought a leather couch and a chair that were on sale in the store. The sales rep we dealt with was trying to give three customers his attention as he was by himself at that point, but he was very nice. Their delivery team was wonderful and nice as well. They took the old couch and put it the new one, and it worked well. The only comment that I have is that we were told that it would be delivered by a certain date and then we never heard from anyone. I called the store and then they told me that it was on backorder. I had to call in order to get that information, so I didn't appreciate that. We waited quite a while, until I finally got a call that it was going to be delivered in a couple of days.     I had a major issue with the delivery of my furniture on January 28. Basically, the delivery crew ignored all instructions when delivering my furniture and left my apartment building after five minutes. After submitting a complaint and speaking with the showroom, I was told the items would be delivered today and no extra delivery fee would apply. I am happy to report that the delivery was made today and everything went smoothly. My issue was never with the showroom or the employee, Robert, that took my order. My issue was already with the delivery. I thank Jennifer Convertible for helping to resolve the very stressful situation.

    The apartment's rather small so we needed something that would fit through the doorway. There was no other furniture place that was able to break down furniture and build it inside the apartment so we went with Jennifer Convertibles. The sales rep asked us what we're looking for, what we'd like, and what we didn't like - if we wanted a sofa bed, color, and size. He gave us a few options and we went with what he said. We knew that he was knowledgeable and trusted his opinion. He worked with us very well and gave us exactly what we wanted. We purchased a loveseat and a larger couch.

    The delivery team called me when they arrived, introduced themselves, looked at the space, and took about forty minutes to do absolutely everything which was super easy.     The Arthur sofa bed sectional that we got from Jennifer Convertibles was great. We absolutely love it. The manager who had sold it to me was very helpful. He really assisted the saleswoman whom I spoke to on the phone first. She was very helpful, too. And because it was going in a basement, she recommended that we have the upholsterer, from the start, come to the delivery which was extra money but it was well-spent.

    I got the item delivered and it was great. The delivery man was lovely - called in advance but wasn’t sure when he would arrive because he had a lot of deliveries. It was on a Sunday. Then he made special accommodations for us because we were going out later in the day. He changed the schedules and got here on time. He said it would never have made it down the stairs and it’s a much more complicated process to deliver it. They have to return it and take it apart. So he was very reassuring and a positive and pleasant guy.

    I grew up in Orange and there was always a Jennifer Convertibles at the Post Rd. I thought it went out of business until I saw it again and then I saw the couch that I've been looking at for a long time in that store. It's a down couch that's white and the slip cover one. I love the set and the people in there were very nice. A very nice gentleman went through the whole thing with me and then I went in there to cancel the order only because I love the set and I have four little dogs and the set is white. He explained about the slip covers and the guarantee, which sold me on it. So I said, "Okay that's it, I'm getting it."

    I had the furniture delivered and my son was there to oversee it. He was upset with the crew that did the delivery. There were three of them and the couch is not going to fit in the door and my son noticed on the top that there's a 2 or 3-inch piece that stops the door from going to the end. So he took it off. Now my son was home because he had gotten out of a hospital and had a bummed leg. He had a cast on his leg and he all but carried it in because one of the guys did nothing and the other two just guided it through.

    Also I didn't know who I was supposed to hear from regarding making payments. They said I should have gotten something in the mail. I said I didn't and they gave me a number to call. I spoke with two different people and they were all very friendly. I definitely would recommend the place. I was very happy with everybody.

    We recently purchased a whole set of one of the newest reclining models at Jennifer Convertibles and my experience was horrible. We ordered these on November 9th and didn't get them until January 9th. And that was after numerous complaints from our part. They said that it didn't take more than four weeks to be delivered, however, it took eight weeks, two months and a day, to be delivered. Also, when we call, they would say that they would just call us and set up a delivery day. But week after week, my husband would call to9 ask about it and they would say the same thing. If they were straight up from the beginning and told us how long it would have taken, maybe we would have considered buying something else.

    On the other hand, the delivery team was great, polite and did their job. However, the furniture's threading is now fraying on the console in the loveseat. My husband called it in and they said they were going to call us between five and nine days but we've had it for at least three weeks now and we haven't heard back from them.

    My second issue with Jennifer Convertibles was about my original set, which I had a lifetime warranty on. One of the sofas became damaged during an accident and when I called it in, they insulted us and said that it was due to neglect, not an accident, which I understand. They have a picture and the sofa did look like it has wear and tears because it was twelve years old but they wouldn't do anything about it. It's extremely frustrating and insulting. Moreover, instead of doing anything about it, they gave us a 50% off coupon, which is how we came about buying this new set. Other than that, I would not have purchased through Jennifer again because it's disappointing.

They sent me the part but when I contacted them to install it, they refused to install it because they say they moved out of Illinois.     As I prepare to have a sofa and loveseat removed from my home and destroyed, I thought I'd see if other consumers had the same issue I had with furniture purchased from Jennifer. I'm not surprised to see many reviews with the same issue - peeling. Because of the peeling I can see that the "leather" is just a very thin coating on top of whatever the material is underneath it. The peeling just began to happen randomly - this furniture was rarely used. I have real leather furniture in other rooms that gets a lot of use, that's much older, and they're in perfect condition. Any good reviews on here are simply because those customers have likely just bought their furniture and haven't yet experienced the peeling. This was a complete waste of money. Worse, selling this as leather is completely dishonest. It is some type of thin vinyl material at best. I will never purchase anything from Jennifer and will tell anyone I know not to either.

    First, I had to continually call the store to get delivery. I purchased a sleeper sofa and love seat that was delivered in September. The sleeper sofa was used once in September with no problem. The furniture is actually used rarely because we do not spend time in the room. By Thanksgiving the sofa bed fell to the floor under the sofa and the cushions sink down into the sofa if you sit on it. Service came in December and told me that the staples that hold the sofa bed in place came apart. Today I received a letter saying the damage is from wear and tear. The furniture is only a few months old and rarely used. I'm so pissed I can't see straight.

    I purchased a leather sectional in October 2012 from Jennifer Convertibles and also a "Guardsman leather furniture service plan." Sectional was delayed and did not get delivered until December 2012. Sad to say but the sectional has been peeling after the first year. I reported it several times but was advised that "peeling" is not covered in the service plan. Every day, I have to sweep up particles from the sectional that are all over my home. I would have never purchased their so called "leather product" if I had known this would happen. The sectional should last at least five years. This is fraudulent and they are selling products that are not true leather. Enclosed are pics of the damage. I just want my money back and will purchase a coach from a reputable store.     I purchased furniture from Jennifer Convertibles and paid an additional amount for the lifetime fabric protection plan. I have since moved to another state and am being told that even though it states on my protection plan that they will honor any claims made (not to exceed purchase price for the plan), Jennifer Convertibles is stating they will not. They cite going into bankruptcy and closing store locations as the reason they can no longer honor these lifetime protection plans. When asked for recommendations for other companies that could assist me in this area, I was told there are none. The supervisor was unwilling to even discuss any other alternatives.     I pass the Jennifer Convertibles store all the time and have purchased several things like a couple of couches and loveseat. I live in Virginia but I bought my furniture in New York. Their sales representative was flexible in regards to accommodating my needs. There were times that I had to pretty much get on her about doing certain things on what I would like and after I did that, she got on it.

    But during delivery, I didn’t know when they were coming at all and I was given a crazy long window from 9:00 to 7:00. I was out and about, moving around, and I get a call saying the delivery people was downstairs by the loading dock. And I’m like, “I’m not home. I have no complaints but the one thing I had in the past when I had bought a fold-out was it fell apart when I expected it to last longer. However, my son has very rambunctious kids and it got a lot of use. I don’t know what the fold-out's life expectancy was but I thought, “Ah! Maybe the quality’s not that great.” But given what the price was, I suppose that’s understandable.     We purchased a 3 piece "leather set" from Jennifer Leather on 84th & Broadway in Manhattan in 2008. We also purchased the lamps and coffee tables spending well over $2400. One year later the leather was already peeling. We called Jennifer Convertibles but the purchased plan did not cover peeling leather. They refused to replace the set. Worst of all we were told by the salesperson in the store this set was genuine leather and would last for over 30 years, softening and aging with time.

    The salesperson straight out lied. This set is BONDED leather, meaning it is a thin overlay glued on. We have no pets and are not rough with our furniture. Take a look at the photos and see for yourself. What a piece of junk. Never, ever purchase anything from this company. They are not in integrity and do not stand behind what they sell. I have peeling leather constantly all over my house. I have had to cover the entire set with slip covers. See the photos and decide if you'd like to spend thousands on furniture to only have to replace it a few years later. Awful. Just awful.

    My mom used to buy from Jennifer Convertibles all the time. And when I bought my living room set, I bought from them as well and kept coming back. So through the years, I’ve bought several things from Jennifer. However, I had a bad experience with them once when I was buying my living room set… When I got the set, the wood underneath the couch was broken and I couldn’t open one side of it.

    I tried to get it replaced with the insurance that I bought, but I was told that they do not cover that, therefore, it couldn’t be replaced. I explained that I’ve only had it for two weeks and told them that they should replace it. And they went on saying perhaps I had broken it, or the moving people broke it, but why would I break the couch? I was buying a new couch.     Overall, we've had a very positive experience with Jennifer Convertibles. We purchased a sofa that could fit two people because we have a big enough family and it was becoming annoying that people were fighting for space on our existing main sofa which is also from Jennifer Convertibles two years ago. When I went in their store, the same saleswoman, Laura, remembered me from the first time. She was really good, showed me options and we’re very happy with it.     Jennifer Convertibles was great. I was having a hard time finding what I wanted but they had a pretty wide range at their store and has a lot more. So I purchased a sofa, a bed and a hide-a-bed. The sales rep was great and really helpful that when we didn't find what we needed, she researched on her own online, looked at the catalogue and we had conversations over the phone. It was a very a good experience.

    There was a little bit of a problem though. The guy didn't install our bed correctly but when they came back to deliver another item, they fixed it. Moreover, we're not pleased with the fact that although it's quite an expensive sofa, it had some factory defects. They have scheduled to come in and look at it and see if they can fix it. We both agreed to replace it. It will be a little bit inconvenient but it won't be horribly inconvenient, and I appreciate their responsiveness.

    Jennifer Convertibles has been very nice to me. The service and the sofas are good. Their men brought it and set it up quickly and it looks good. It's just that the mattresses are horrible! They have done everything they can to upgrade them. I purchased a full-size leather sleep sofa that was just right for my apartment. It's a lovely piece of furniture. It has a firm seat to it but the mattress that came with it was full of various springs, so we couldn't use it and had to throw it out and get another one which I had to pay $200 for and it is very soft. They said there was an inflatable one for another $200 but I didn't buy that.

    I've recently made an in-store purchase of a sectional sofa from Jennifer Convertibles. I was told they come in different colors and the sales associate Jill was very, very good. The delivery crew who came and set them up for me was good. But one arm of the sofa is broken and I’m still waiting for them to come back and either exchange it or repair it. It still got its tags hanging off it so when I saw it's broken, I said “Oh!” So I spoke to Leslie who’s the manager at the store and she’s a genius and has been excessively nice. She’s working on it and waiting on because I spoke with customer care. So it’s been a minute in this process but I’m waiting on them to come back to me whatever they want to do. The repairman came out one time and said he couldn’t repair it. I paid over a $1,000 and I expect to get its worth and they said they’re going to replace my sofa but they haven’t done that yet.

    We bought a couch from Jennifer Convertibles. We told the sales rep what we were looking for, price range, color we're looking for, size, and then he gave us a few different suggestions. I was given couches that fit those criteria. Overall, we're really happy with the couch. But I was definitely frustrated with the delivery because I was misinformed, so I had to pay a fee and didn’t get the couch right away. They were delivering it the first time and I was misinformed that I was going to get an hour notification ahead of time and they just called me when they were there, but I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to so we missed the first delivery. If I had even a half hour window notification, I would have been able to be there. And then I had to pay a restocking fee then they had to deliver it the following week.

    I went to Jennifer Convertibles in Brooklyn because I did not like the people in the Manhattan location. The salesman who was helping me in Manhattan was pushing nonsense onto me. I asked him if he could do any better with the price of the couch because I know that it costs $100 less online and they have to match that price. He takes off $30 from the couch. Then he sent signals to another salesperson thinking I'm a moron and that I don't realize he's doing some kind of code with him. Also, they were pushing me to have the couch disassembled because it's not going to fit into my building. I didn't complain, I didn't say anything. I didn't buy the couch. I just got out of the store.

    I had seen online that there's a warehouse of Jennifer Convertibles in Brooklyn so I called to see if they had the same couch which they did. They have the same couch online but the name is spelled backwards. I don't know if they do that because its a $100 less and they don't want people to put two and two together. The guy on the phone from the Brooklyn warehouse sounded nice. I got the couch and saved $200. The guys who delivered it was nice and great. Everything went smoothly after that. The couch even came earlier than expected but when I got the couch, there were scratches. I called Jennifer Convertibles and they sent a replacement. They stood by their product, did the right thing. Overall, the Brooklyn people and customer service were great but the Manhattan people lacks integrity.

    I bought a sofa bed from Jennifer Convertibles 'JC' on March 20th, 2013. In October of 2015, I noticed the leather on the head cushion is cracking & peeling. It's only about 21/2 years old. I did a Google search and found others who had the same problem. I asked JC for refund, and they said refused. So it appears we're headed to small claims court. A Consumer Affairs attorney had this to say to another customer with the same problem: "Depending on the state, if you purchased the piece of furniture in a brand new condition, you may have a cause of action under the applicable code section of your state for breach of express contract and breach of contract as a new item may carry an assumed fitness for a particular purpose."

Ok here is my nightmare story and biggest disappointment ever: I have ordered a sofa bed from Jennifer Furniture. We negotiated the date of arrival and I had to take a day off at work, as they were not able to specify the exact (or near) hour - just told me between 10am and 3pm. So I waited... And they brought a wrong one. I was really pissed as I needed it - I awaited guests for couple of nights and had no place to put them. So I had to pay a hotel for them! Ok... You would think they will apologize and be very sorry... You think wrong - no in Jennifer. Such a rude attitude and impolite behaviour, I was really amazed! I have never experienced such a bad customer service in my life...

    Not only I had to wait another week or two for the sofa, I had to take another day off at work... But the best part was just about to come. The manager promised me the discount for the wrong sofa and late delivery. It was just 100 USD, ok, better than nothing... But guess what? They never send anything and he didn't even answer my emails. Hilarious!!! This is how the manager should behave? For 100 bucks? Are you kidding me? I have the name of the Manhattan Jennifer Furniture manager, if anybody would be interested and will be happy to provide it.

    On October 26, 2012 I purchased a Simmons Macro 2 Piece Urban Charcoal full sleeper sectional sofa along with the Guardsman 5 Year Furniture Service Plan for $1,146.24 that totaled $1,412.16 due to taxes and delivery fees.     I got good value for how much I pay at Jennifer Convertibles. So far everything has been positive and I am enjoying what I bought. I like the color, style, comfortableness and price of the loveseat and ottoman I purchased from them. I got the items at 40% discount at their store, and the sales rep was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and was very informative. There was a little inconvenience when I had the products delivered at my house because the ottoman arrived broken -- they should have checked that out before delivering it. However, I didn't have any problem with getting it back.     I purchased a sectional and recliner chair which was delivered Labor Day weekend. The sectional had to be replaced in which I kept calling the store and after a week of not getting a call back I had to go in and speak with a manager. After receiving new couch it was defective again. I have spoken with Meryl ** more than once and I am hoping for a call back from her this week. I have been corresponding with an email address Photos@jenniferconvertibles.com and at first they were very quick to help me. Kept telling me I would hear back in three business days, heard nothing. I reached out. Told me that they would get back to me in two business days. It's now been over a week and nobody has gotten back to me. Why give a time frame if you can't comply with it. And to ignore emails makes me feel like I'm not important as a consumer.

    I wanted to cancel my protection plan which I paid $260 for because I no longer want to deal with them and they're giving me a hard time with giving me my money back. I'm very dissatisfied and very disappointed in the customer care and the quality of care that they treat their customers with. Would totally never recommend them. I feel that in retail you should have the utmost customer service experience as there are many competitors out there.

They delivered the items and the crew was fine. However, one of the cushions that were delivered to us had a stain on it and I'm still working to get it rectified.     My husband and I purchased a leather blend sleeper sofa from Jennifer Convertibles in 2009. We paid a great deal more for it than I wanted to ($964.49, to be exact), but was assured from the sales associate in the storeroom that it was money well spent because the couch was quality and we would be happy with it for years to come. He said that if we were worried about anything happening to it, we should strongly consider purchasing the Jennifer Convertibles "Upholstery Shield Lifetime Leather Protection Plan," as it would cost us $99.99 extra but that it would give us peace of mind. We took his advice and paid for the plan. Within only a few years of owning it, we noticed that leather pieces were practically falling off of it.

    The couch we had purchased was black leather, and underneath what was a very, very thin skin of leather was a pink foam type of material. This unnatural effect not only made the couch look decades older than it was, but it was immediately jarring to anyone who happened to see it (which was everyone that entered our home as the living room was right in the entryway.) I contacted Jennifer Convertibles immediately and at first they tried to disclaim any responsibility because of what they termed "peeling." I had to argue with two different departments and then they said they would send a technician by to repair it. The technician did in fact repair it, and he used a different, more durable material to do so. I am not a fabric expert, but based upon the feel of the material I would say it is closest to a vinyl but it is definitely not leather.

    We probably should be upset that our "leather" couch now feels like a kids' Halloween Batman costume, but we have been grateful that thus far, it has not experienced the same disintegrating fate as its predecessor. Now, here we are two years after the initial repair, and the same thing that happened to our cushions is now happening to the arms and sides of our sofa! I called Jennifer Convertibles and immediately brought this to their attention and was told that the last time, they extended a one-time courtesy to us by repairing it, and they will not be doing so again. They said that if we wanted to "correct the furniture," we could contact their claims center who would give us the price of the parts and labor. The e-mail was not signed with a person's name or contact number, but was rather just signed "Jennifer Convertibles."

    I can say that I will not be paying "Jennifer Convertibles" any more money to correct the shoddy workmanship or materials they used on my furniture. I already paid them over $1,000.00 and feel like instead of a "Lifetime Leather Protection Plan," I signed on for a "Lifetime Headache." I would rather spend the money suing them in small claims court and let them see if the judge buys their story, because I am done buying. This is the route I will be going if this company does not send the technician to fix my damage. If you are thinking about buying from this company, I would advise you to spend your money elsewhere. We have purchased furniture from several different companies, including Sears, Seaman's, Macy's and even Ikea, and have not experienced the grief we have with Jennifer Convertibles.

    Jennifer Convertibles have the guarantee if it got stained, I could buy the insurance. Everything was on sale so I got the down-filled sofas because it's soft and I like the way it feels so I bought two sets. Their product is good. However, the representative wouldn't let me combine them in the same delivery, charged me for two deliveries, and then never told me when the delivery was. They didn't even call me a day before and say it was gonna be delivered next day which is one things that they should work on. So apparently they just showed up and then he wanted to recharge me for third delivery fee but I argued with him so he didn't charge me any more. It was all dirty, so they had to go and get me a new one.

    I went to Jennifer Convertibles looking for a small convertible sofa. I bought this little cheap thing at $399 and then upgraded all these things to the point that it got up to just under $1000. Money is not the issue. I expect that when I buy something and it comes, that it's at least workable. This thing has wires thicker than what you get at the dry cleaner, the wires hang off each side of it. There's something that fell off it, it's sitting on the floor. The reason I paid so much for this garbage thing is that I wanted a better mattress. A friend of my mother and her friend, an older woman in her 80's, they were coming and this is the bed they were going to sleep on. They were so afraid of it because when you close it, if you're not careful it will break your fingers. It snaps like a trap when you trap an animal. It's very scary.

    I would never make a case if I didn't think they are wrong. I called them and they said they don't take any returns. I told them I returned a mattress many years ago. There's some law about that. I know that because my husband does that. In most places, if you're very unhappy with the product, you get to return it. Now their policy is iron clad. I already sent them an email with photos of wires hanging. If you're over 55, you can't really sleep on this bed. It's too short and the mattress goes up. There's a big hole behind it because they want you to be able to sit up to watch TV. But I needed it to be a bed that is flat. It's not flat. It doesn't fit people. It fits kids or very short people. It's a joke. It's a complete joke. And to spend almost $1000 on this thing is just stupid.

    American Express put my money aside and were trying to work this out. But every time I talk to Jennifer Convertibles staff, she mentions about their no-return policy. That policy is only if somebody picks a color and then they didn't like the color when they finally got it. That's a different animal. It's brand new and it has things hanging off it. It's inferior, it's not made well. I hate this. I'm ready to put it out on the street in New York somewhere and call it a loss because I don't want to get into a lawsuit about this, it's not worth it. But I'm really pissed about it. It's not right and I hate that. I'm very dissatisfied. I don't recommend them to anybody.

    Well, I after threatening to cancel the order completely I was phoned that day by the store saying that they can deliver all of the furniture with the exception of the chair and ottoman which will arrive at the end of October and not charge me for delivery which I agreed to.

    Since I paid the delivery in advance, I am still waiting for them to credit me for it. The guys who delivered the furniture did a great job, they came in great condition. I am only giving them one extra star because I wouldn't use them again or recommend them since I had to put up such a stink to get most of the furniture to my home in a reasonable time.

    I noticed that immediately after my review there's a flood of 5-star reviews (I question if they're real) from other customers. I guess they didn't have to wait 2 months for furniture like I did? Maybe they changed their delivery operations, who knows?

    On labor day we ordered a living room set and spend $2800. It was stated on our receipt that it will take 2-3 weeks for delivery. After the three weeks we called the showroom and we were told it had not arrived yet and would be another week. We waited a week and called on Monday. We were then told it will take another three weeks to get it delivered to the showroom and then would be delivered to our home. First we emailed customer service and they said within 48 hours, they would get back to us. It seems that they attempted to call but did not leave a message, so we decided to go to the showroom and speak to them face to face. I spoke to the sales associate (whom I assume that was the store manager) and he said he cannot cancel the order without permission from the district manager and that he would call us today. He did not call us.

    After speaking to the folks at the showroom yesterday, I again called customer service and the woman that I spoke to didn't know how to put our order number in the computer and said that we have to speak to the manager because she handles all of the cancellations. I called her the next day and she said that she couldn't cancel the order and we had to call the showroom. We called the showroom again and the woman who I spoke to said that the manager is not there. All I am trying to do is cancel my order and get a refund. They did not deliver the merchandise in a timely manner as was stated on the receipt and never called to notify us of any delays. They expect us to sit in camping chairs in our living room for another 2 weeks. We are just looking to move on from here.

Last year I was in the process of moving and I went to a few furniture stores, and Jennifer Convertibles was my last. I was contemplating on a piece of furniture but I ended up not getting it. Then I had bought something from another furniture store, but when they brought it here, it couldn’t fit through my apartment door. So I ended up almost for a year that I didn’t have furniture.     I liked my purchase because it wasn't too big, the size is nice, it was gray (I wanted something gray), and it was a sectional, it has like the piece that kind of comes out long that you can kind of stretch your feet across. The size and everything ended up being perfect for my living room. Plus, it was on sale. With Jennifer Convertibles, I have no complaints, even from down to the salesman that helped me out because I actually called prior to me coming in and he asked to be there when I came two days later. I was not here when it was delivered but there were no problems. Everything was together and nothing was damaged.

    This is a long story. From day 1, told I was able to pay with a credit card through finance but to find out it had to be debit. Then it was delivered and there were problems - 3 seats did not work. 4 weeks later the tech came and said he had to order parts, could be 3 more weeks. Then I went and paid the store a visit and the manager called the service dept. and told me that someone would be there in 3 days with the parts to fix it. Well 3 days went by and no call, called manager -he told me I didn't hear him when he told me that the parts were going to be UPS to me. Wait it gets better, he told me that it was easy for me to install the part!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

    I went to the store again and he told me he didn't say that, oh boy! I was furious. The tech called me to see if the parts came and the manager told him to call. IT is not the tech's responsibility to tell me that, then he told me he is going on vacation, more time it's not being fixed. I told them to come and get the couches back, he said it doesn't work like that. I said I'll bring them to you. Hey corporate, let's see what you're going to do. As of now I will never recommend them!!!

    I purchased a leather sectional from the store along with a Guardsman protection plan - what a joke. The furniture kept breaking and they sent someone to fix the sofa - 3X! When I complained about how unhappy I was with the furniture quality, inconvenience of a constant broken couch and poor service, they got angry. After finally coming to a settlement for a replacement, guess what? Jennifer no longer had that sectional or anything close in size and style. They are completely unwilling to help in this matter and were rude and dismissive. They are really quick to sell you a protection plan that costs you money and in the end causes you to pay double for a replacement!!

    Updated on 11/20/2015: Well after months of dealing with a broken sectional and finally getting a subpar resolution, here's my replacement furniture. Please notice the quality or lack thereof, more appropriately. Once again, called immediately to report my unhappiness at furniture that can't stay in place. You are unable to even sit on the furniture without the cushions falling from beneath you. The cushions are attached by small patches of VELCRO.     My first NEW purchase! How excited I was a NEW couch. Well, if only that easy. I purchased this couch February 2015. It was delivered April 2015. The delivery was rough. They were squeezing the couch into door when the legs needed to be removed. The guys just didn't care or won't take time to figure how to manage and get into the apartment. July 28th, I had it - Sent an email to photos@jenniferconvertible.com. Wrote a detailed email w/ pictures: The couch is less than 6 months old and after submitting pictures noticed the overall wear of couch is horrific. The middle cushion is sinking already. The armrests are pilling. Just an overall disappointment. After sending two emails, and follow up, I was sent new bottom cushions as a 'fix'.

    Then a technician came to change the cushions on my couch. He was very nice however wasn't able to answer my questions regarding the couch as a whole. He took pictures, but I've already sent pictures of all my concerns and issues. Not only were the bottom cushions an issue, the middle cushion is sinking, and the back cushions, and armrests/seam have the same issue as what was just replaced. As mentioned this couch is maybe 6 months old, and hardly used. For the money spent my expectation is to have it perfect, not having to worry what will happen in 2-3 months. I just can't imagine that how its wearing is normal and what Jennifer Convertibles would consider quality. I asked for option. That cushion replacement was not acceptable. My contract has warranty option. I'd like to hear options to replace fabric like to hear options of what can be done in efforts to change couch fabric? This fabric seems to be the biggest issue, a Lemon!

    End of last week got back couch covers. As mentioned this is not an answer. When purchasing certainly didn't expect to be at this point. Very disappointing and hope something can be agreed on. The 'ICING ON CAKE' I went to the store where I purchased couch. Jennifer Convertible Short Hills. When I explained what was going on, how upset I was. They basically remained on the floor model couches relaxing. The one employee managed to print my contract as I requested. My sales person who sold me couch said 'Well this hasn't happened before with this fabric'. Talk about customer service. Needless to say, my excited purchase has turned into a HUGE nightmare. Praying for a solution that meets my expectations.

    After months of back and forth with Jennifer furniture, my replacement furniture finally arrived 2 months after it was promised. It is in my beach house so I won't be able to see if this new furniture is any better than the defective set until next year since our house is closed up for the season (It is a totally different set from a different manufacturer). At this point, I'm just going to cross my fingers that it's going to be comfortable and safe. Am I satisfied, sort of?

    It would have been nice if there was more communication between the store and upper management. The manager of the store I dealt with had left during this exchange transaction and it led to a lot of stress on my part trying to get it sorted out. Once I spoke with upper management it was taken care of right away. Consumers need to do their homework because my original furniture was Ashley brand (which to me equates with throw away furniture and that's what I got) and had that been disclosed to me (wasn't even written on the receipt that it was Ashley brand). I would have passed on it and chosen another alternative brand. I'm going to chalk it up to an over-eager salesperson desperate to make a sale. I'm just happy that Jennifer stood behind their product and took it back and offered me a replacement.

    I purchased a sofa bed love seat set from Jennifer Furniture in East Hanover, NJ. My sales person was Mark. I don't know the date I purchased it because Mark didn't bother to write that on my order. In any case when I first came in the store with my daughter I told Mark that I was only interested in a sofa bed with a memory foam mattress because I have a bad back and I cannot sleep on an inner spring mattress. He showed me a set, the "Milari" which I like the style of it. I then asked him again if a memory foam mattress comes with it to which he assured me it did. He told me that the sofa on display did not have the memory foam mattress on it but he could open another couch with one for me to try which I did. I found it to be comfortable and I said I'd think about the sofa purchase. I came back a few days later to purchase the set.

    Again I asked Mark was he sure that the memory foam came with it, to which he again told me yes it did. He took me and my daughter back to the desk area to write up the sales slip. He sloppily wrote it up, left the date off and did not write memory foam on the ticket. When I questioned these omissions he assured me that when he entered it in the computer it would be fine. I paid for my items and left. When my furniture was going to be delivered (to my shore house in Ocean county which they only deliver to TWO days a month) my husband had to go to accept delivery. I told him to please have the driver open the sofa bed to make sure the memory foam was there. It was not.

    I immediately called the store and was told by a woman Irene that memory foam doesn't even come with that sofa bed. To make matters worse the tags on the sofa said "Ashley furniture". Nowhere was it ever noted or even told to me that the furniture was from Ashely furniture. Had I known that I would have not even purchased the set in the first place as their quality is that of a 5 year old making a couch! Irene told me either to accept delivery and deal with the main office or refuse delivery and they'll deal with me about that. I had no choice but to take delivery since it was almost summer and we needed something to sit on. I figured I'd deal with the store regarding the memory foam mattress. The store manager Xavier was able to replace the spring mattress with the originally promised memory foam mattress.

    I was happy and thought my troubles were over. Little did I know what would be coming. I had the set for less than 3 weeks when the fabric started to ripple on the sides of the couch and love seat. The seat cushions actually slid into the sides of the sofa bed making it an entrapment/strangulation hazard for a small child. I called again and was referred to the main office in NY. A woman, I think he name may have been Carol, not sure though, asked me to email her pictures of the defects. I did this immediately and was contacted later that day by Xavier telling me that Jennifer was going to take back the defective set and I could either take a refund (which I should have done and ran for the hills) or pick something else out. I agreed to pick another set and went over specifically what I wanted in the new set.

    Xavier was wonderful in accommodating me, found a suitable replacement, arranged for me to go see it at another location and processed this order. I explained to him clearly that I needed the furniture to be delivered BEFORE labor day since I close up my summer home for the season and I do not return until next May. He said he'd call the manufacturer and get a commitment from them. He called me back and said the manufacturer would definitely have the furniture to them so they can deliver it and pick up the defective furniture before Labor day. I was thrilled, thought my problems were over. Xavier asked me if I had the original spring mattress that came with the defective furniture. I told him I did and he said to please take the memory foam mattress off and put the spring back on so they can take it back the way it came and that I can put the memory foam mattress on the new couch since the new one does not come with memory foam.

    About 3 weeks later I decided to call Xavier to see if he had heard anything regrind my furniture since labor day was quickly approaching. When I called I got Irene again and she told me Xavier was no longer employed at Jennifer Furniture. I explained yet again that I needed this furniture BEFORE labor day. She looked at the computer and told me that my furniture wasn't even made yet! She gave me the contact name and number of the regional manager, a Mr. ** I think his name was. I called, left a message and sent an email, no answer, no return call. I waited another day and called Irene back. She said she'd reach out to him. He finally called me about a week before Labor day. He assured me that my furniture was done and they were waiting for it to come to them from North Carolina. Since they only deliver 2 days a month I was getting worried.

    He told me not to worry that he'd keep on top of it. Needless to say Labor day came and went and nothing was ever delivered. I called the store and finally got to speak to the new manager Christina. She confirmed that my furniture was finally in. She also told me I had a balance due of $670 and change. I told her that she had to be wrong that Xavier told me I only owed $415.07. After much back and forth she finally figured out the difference was the memory foam mattress and that if I wanted to keep it I had to pay for it and if not I had to return it. I told her that I had already paid for it when I originally bought the defective furniture. She insisted no I did not. I explained to her that I was lied to and that I was told the memory foam mattress came on my set. The price I paid for the set included the mattress. Again, no, I was wrong and I needed to pay for it. I asked her for a breakdown of the price of the new set to which she said she didn't have.

    I told her that I saw the same exact sofa bed on Wayfair for much less than they were charging me for it. I went on to tell her to just please come and pick up the defective furniture and please issue me a refund. At this point I don't need it since I won't be there until next May and that is plenty of time to shop for new furniture. She got very angry with me and told me that I needed to speak to the regional manager that this was no longer a store issue. Ok fine, apparently I had no other choice. I never heard from the regional so I called Christina yet again. She told me that he called and left me a message. I never got this, I've checked my cell phone's voice mail, nothing is there. I asked her please have him call again. Again, nothing. I just got off the phone with Christina about 20 min ago telling her that he never phoned and that I need to speak to him to resolve this once and for all.

    She said she'd send him an email and have him call. Apparently they don't have phones for their store manager to call them on. At this point I am exhausted from dealing with this situation. I bought a set thinking I was getting Jennifer Furniture with a memory foam mattress. What I got was defective, cheaply made Ashley Furniture with a spring mattress and a giant headache. I should have never taken delivery of this furniture but I was in a no win situation. Everything takes 3+ weeks to come in and I'd be stuck sitting on the floor. I could not have ANY small children come to my beach house this summer for fear of strangulation in the cushion that slides into the sofa bed compartment. I have spent too much time dealing with this nightmare and now I'm being told I owe way more than I was originally told.

    At this point I can buy the sofa bed for under $900 with free delivery from Wayfair which is what I'd like to do. I'm writing this review to warn other consumers of Jennifer's business practices at the East Hanover store. Had the store employee, Mark, been honest with me that my set was Ashley furniture and that it did NOT come with memory foam I would have asked to purchase a memory foam mattress or taken my business elsewhere if it was unavailable. At this point the only settlement I'd find acceptable would be for Jennifer to come and pick up the defective furniture, their much prized memory foam mattress and issue me a refund for my purchase price. I now have to be extremely inconvenienced to drive to the shore to meet the delivery person which, yet again, only come twice a month! Beware consumers.

    I bought a sofa from Jennifer Convertibles along with the warranty. There are only 2 adults that live in our home and less than three years after purchase, the main back frame cracked and is bulging out. The warranty will not cover it and all the stores in CA are closed. I have tried to call headquarters but no response. Anyone who is thinking of buying anything from them DON'T. Cheap product and terrible customer service.

    I purchased two chairs from the East Hanover, NJ location for my living room in May 2015. I was told they would be in and delivered 4-6 weeks. When I called to check status I received the runaround and false promises from the Manager Xavier. I called a week later and they told me that Xavier quit. I finally had to contact the district manager in corporate Gerry **. Gerry took some money off for my inconvenience and I paid the balance in full over the phone. Finally the chairs were delivered the end of August. Upon delivering I noticed two white stain rings on the top of the chair. The delivery men told me I would have to call customer service. I called and they sent Guardsman out to try to remove the stain. They came out and were unsuccessful in removing the stains. Guardsman sent a report to Jennifer Convertibles and told me that someone would be in contact with me.

    I waited one week after not hearing from anyone and called Gerry ** and left two messages. I never received a call back so I reached out to customer service and waited on the phone for over 20 minutes before speaking to someone. They told me new fabric was ordered and will be installed by a company once it comes in. I am furious to say the least. They ordered new fabric for a chair that is brand new! It was received damaged upon delivery. I feel like this is fraud and awful customer service. I will NEVER do business with this company again!

    I submitted a review about a transaction I had with Jennifer Convertibles and back again to express my appreciation for the publication of my review and whoever called Albe (Jennifer convertibles sales personnel).

    Albe called me after a couple of days after my review to request I bring the lamps for only exchange. He said the company is willing to only exchange the lamps for me. I was surprised. Even though earlier on he said the company's policy does not allow exchange or return of delivered items and it's terrible on my part to exchange or return.

    Anyway, I am satisfied with this proposition so I sent the lamps to the grand concourse office. My lamps will arrive in 3 weeks time at least, that is what Albe told me.

No one could serve me except 'Able', the who served me. Finally l was able to reach him and he said l can't return or exchange delivered item. That was shocking. I will never recommend anyone to buy from this shop. Able kiss ma ass!!!

    I purchased a contract for any repairs needed on my furniture that I purchase, supposedly good for 5 years. I have not been able to contact Jennifer Convertibles to honor the contract as they closed all California stores and will not accept calls at the previous store even though there is a voicemail indicating if I have a problem to leave a message. I am unable to leave a message and I am stuck with a contract that I paid for to have any repair necessary on a dining room table and chairs, a love seat and a leather sofa bed. If there is a class action suit, I am there!!! This is pure theft to the consumer.

    We ordered a sofa bed in March of 2014. In less than a year one of the back pillow seams opened. We went into a Jennifer store in Manhattan and asked what could be done. We were told that if we had purchased the Guardsman Protection Plan they would fix the seam and if there were any stains that too would be covered. WRONG! Guardsman will not cover the stain(s) because we did not specify the type of stain and seams are not covered. Moral of the story, DO NOT waste your money on JENNIFER nor GUARDSMAN.

    On March 16, 2015, I purchased a furniture set (sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman) from Jennifer Convertibles for $2,019.60. This amount included the cost of the furniture, a protection plan, tax and delivery. The furniture was special order so it took 6-8 weeks to deliver. The furniture was delivered on May 12, 2015 in good condition. On June 19, 2015, I noticed a tear in the corner of the loveseat coming from the base of the couch to where the seat cushion is attached. I proceeded to inspect my furniture and found similar tears beginning on all corners as well as seams opening between the cushions. I called the store where I purchased the furniture and they gave me headquarters number to call. I was wished good luck by my sales person. This was my first sign that what was to follow wasn't going to go well.

    I called the headquarters number, gave my complaint and was told I would be contacted within 5 business days to scheduled someone to come look at my furniture and assess the problem. On June 29, 2015, the 6th business day, I sent a message through the Jennifer Convertibles website stating that I called 6 business days ago to report a problem and had not heard back from anyone. I was contacted by phone by USA-1 Unlimited Services but was unable to take the call. There was also an email sent from them. When I could, I returned the call and left a message.

    On June 30, 2015, I called again and left a message and sent an email to USA-1 to set up an appointment. On July 1, 2015, USA-1 contacted me and we set up an appointment for July 7, 2015. On July 7, 2015, a representative from USA-1 came and took pictures of my furniture and said the pictures would be sent to Jennifer Convertibles for review by customer service. On July 13, 2015, I was sent a email from Jennifer Convertibles saying, "This letter is to follow up on the recent in-home service you have received. We understand from the factory authorized service technician who inspected your furniture that the problem you are experiencing with your merchandise is not the result of manufacturer defects. Our guarantees cover defects in materials and/or workmanship. However, rips, tears, and wear and tear are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty."

    I immediately responded by email, "This is completely unacceptable! This furniture was in my house for 6 weeks when I first called in my complaint! The second thing I will say that this was special order so it was made specifically for me! This is not normal wear and tear and if you do not do something about it, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Furthermore, I will never buy from Jennifer Convertibles again and will not recommend your furniture to anyone!" I got a phone call from a customer service rep basically telling me that it wasn't a manufacturing problem. I caused the damage to my furniture in the 6 weeks that it was in my home. On that call, I requested the pictures that were taken and a report of how the decision was made. The woman took my e-mail, said she would send it and never did.

    I also sent the following e-mail to Jennifer Convertibles: "To Whom It May Concern: My order # is **. Someone from Jennifer Furniture called me this morning and said that she was looking at the pictures and there was no way this was a manufacturer's defect and that basically by sitting on my furniture, that's what caused the issues. What am I supposed to do with living room furniture??? Stand there staring at it??? MY FURNITURE AT THE TIME OF MY FIRST call was 6 weeks old and was special order so it was just manufactured!! On that same call, I requested to have all documentation sent to me (pictures, report from technician, etc.) on how the decision was reached. The woman took my email and said she would send it but I have yet to receive anything.

    Please forward to me the documentation on how your decision was made. I am not at all satisfied with my purchase or how my complaint has been handled thus far. Six-week old furniture should not be ripping at the seams if it was properly manufactured. There is clearly something not right here and Jennifer Furniture is not standing by the product that they sell. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Department of Consumer Affairs if this matter is not resolved to my satisfaction."

    The response from Jennifer Convertibles was “we are willing to order to parts to fix your furniture but you have to pay for the upholsterer.” I called and left a message stating that this was unacceptable. I invited the customer service rep and quality control rep to come and inspect my furniture themselves. I am at a loss. I was sold poorly manufactured furniture and Jennifer Convertibles is not standing by the products they sell.

    The above is the complaint that I filed with the Better Business Bureau. Jennifer Convertibles responded that they are standing by the fact that it's not manufacturer's defect because that's what the independent service company, that they hired, is stating. The independent service company also says that they are calling from Jennifer Convertibles when they contact you… So who's kidding who here? Nothing has been provided in writing from the service company, only the pictures that they took and those were only provided through the BBB complaint, even though I requested them both verbally and in an email. I took the same pictures. This is the most ridiculous situation that I have ever had to deal with. I was sold a poorly manufactured product and I feel I was ripped off. Jennifer Convertibles takes complete advantage of the consumer and they are not standing by the products that they sell.

    I purchased a sofa bed and the Protection Plan from Guardsman they sell supposedly to cover a five-year period on July 2013. The sofa is now sagging so much that it is very difficult to rise from it - especially for a senior citizen like myself. The bed on the sofa has never been opened. Once called neither Guardsman nor Jennifer will commit to rectifying the situation. I wrote a letter to Jennifer to the address they publish on their work order but the Postal Service returns it "Undeliverable." That is a non-address according to the Postal Service. Try calling: one phone is permanently busy; the other is no answer.

    My husband and I purchased a 3 pc living room set in black bonded leather, Anda 3 pc wall unit. We had also ordered a 3 pc table set. Everything was to be delivered before Thanksgiving 2014. We were informed after we called the store that the tables were backordered until sometime after the holiday season. So we canceled the tables and took delivery of the 3 pc living room set on 11/28/2014. The delivery guys broke the handle on my screen door, scratched the arm on my loveseat, and cracked one of the corners on one pc of the wall unit. That was just the beginning!!

    After having this stuff for approximately 3 months, we noticed the the cushion, the chair felt like you were sitting on a piece of wood. One cushion on the couch and one on the loveseat were collapsing. The other cushions felt like the material was bunching under the fabric. ALL SIX CUSHIONS NEEDED REPLACING! Apparently that takes 5 months to get done! All we really wanted was to re select from the store. We were told that wasn't an option. The repairman is here today, August 3, 2015. I sat on the new chair cushion, I can feel the lumps, the cushions are sewn in 3pc sections. There isn't anything the repairman can do about MANUFACTURER'S DEFECTS.

    Updated 10/30/2015 - So, my furniture is today a month shy of 1 year old. And, after having ALL 6 CUSHIONS replaced in August, it looks again like cheap garbage. My husband and I are not rough on our things. But this stuff looks like we abused it! One cushion on both the couch and loveseat are AGAIN collapsing! The 2nd cushion on the couch is also collapsing, but not as bad. The third cushion on the couch is so obviously not sat on. The furniture I had before this, I had for 6 years, my son has it now, you can't see any difference in the cushions! They all look great. Obviously, NOT purchased at Jennifer Convertibles! The chair cushion is just not comfortable. If you sit in the center of the seat, you tip sideways! We were informed by the guy that replaced the cushions in August that the company feels they fixed all problems "within manufacturer's specs". Translation: "you're stuck with this crap!" NEVER BUY FROM THESE CROOKS!

    I purchased the sofa in the Brooklyn store on 86 street. It was delivered but did not fit my room. When I called the store number to try and return the item I was spoken to in an unfriendly manner, told that no returns are accepted in a tone like how dare I even ask. Apparently unlike Sears or Macy's they do not accept returns. The furniture is made of very cheap material and is put together poorly. Needless to say I do not recommend Jennifer Convertibles to anyone.

    When you call their Stuart, FL number, you are redirected to a radio station that says you're caller 15 and won a free cruise. Scamadviser says the radio station site is based in Czechoslovakia and the person who set it up is using some kind of proxy to hide their identity. The site looks legit, so it is tough to detect. It is a new scam, so there are few reports out, but more and more are surfacing.

    Myself and my wife went to the store in totowa and order sofa, coffee table, lamps, center rug and dining set in march and we did not get it until june 9th 2015. The dining set came in damaged and they did not come back to fix. We returned some items and we did not get our refund till date. It's over 3 weeks now. The worse part of this transaction was we did not get our lamps till date. We have been deceived that the lamp is at the warehouse and went back to store and back to warehouse.     Save yourself the agony of purchasing defective items at an overpriced rate. I purchased a king-sized mattress in June of 2014 which cost me well over 1000 dollars. From the very first night that I laid on this mattress, I noticed that I was sleeping on a decline. The top middle of the bed had a large dent. It felt really awkward and I woke up with severe back pains. I immediately called their claim center to address this problem. This company knowingly sold me a defective item that causes me unnecessary pain and suffering!!!

    Since 2014, I've filed THREE claims and all of them got decline. The company claimed that the indent was not severe enough to be fixed. Essentially, they acknowledged the fact that they delivered me a defective item but refuse to do anything about it because they felt it wasn't broken enough to need fixing. Well they are not the ones sleeping on this spine-damaging bed so how can they properly assess what is deemed broken enough?

    On the first inspection, 07/07/14, the report claimed that the indent was only 1 inches deep and they only repair mattress that are more than 2 inches deep. They advised me to wait a few months and call back when the indent gets worst. At the second inspection, 10/31/14, they claimed that the indent was now 1 inches deep. Great. So in a few months they would have to honor their warranty when it reaches 2 inches deep, right? Wrong! After the third inspection, 11/07/14, they stated the indent was now less than 1 inch deep and now they only cover for indents over 2 inches deep.

    So after sleeping uncomfortably on this mattress for months, it had somehow defied gravity and unindented itself AND they decided to increase the inches of regression that qualifies for the repair by another half an inch! I asked for a copy of the inspection but that also was denied. They claimed that it was against their policy to send the reports to their customers. Fine. Then I asked them to fax over a copy of the terms and conditions for the warranty of that mattress on 11/07, 11/13 and 11/21. I've asked them to fax it over three times and every time they state that they will fax it over by the end of the day...and still nothing!

    It is now June of 2015 and I haven't heard or received anything back from them since mid-November. I will not put this to rest until they have found a resolution for my concern. If they cannot, I have no other recourse but to file a civil lawsuit. It is unlawful to knowingly sell someone a defective item claiming that it is in new condition regardless of what their warranty states.

    I ordered a Cassandra sofa bed after falling in love with the store model - comfy and deep. Love at first sitting. The Cassandra that was delivered to me has cushions like bricks. Far from being able to sink into the cushions, I felt myself actively repelled. Moreover, the 2 small side cushions are filled with scraps of something - not even a pillow. When I protested that what arrived was not what I thought I was buying, I was told that there was nothing wrong with the sofa, that it met all the manufacturer's specs. The comfortable sofa in the showroom was 'broken in'. This Cassandra was the third Jennifer I have purchased, and I have never had this problem. No More Jennifer. Buyer Beware. An expensive experience of indifference and fraud.

    We bought the Liza Full Sleeper from Jennifer Furniture on the 26/10/12. We noticed that the leather is peeling. I have continuously asked them to repair it. They are slow to respond and now say that it will take 5-6 months to repair - if ever!

    Came into the store and told salesman that I only want a sofa bed with a memory foam mattress. I said to not show me anything that doesn't come with a memory foam mattress. Salesman opens a couch, invites me and my daughter to try out the memory foam mattress. I was pleasantly surprised. I found a set that I loved. Confirmed again that the memory foam mattress comes on it. Again the salesman said "yes, it comes on it". Fast forward to June 2nd, delivery day. Guess what??? NO MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS!!! Called the store immediately and my salesman was off that day (amazing). Spoke to a woman who told me my set doesn't come with the memory foam mattress and it can't even be ordered! WOW, conned and lied to.

    Store manager allegedly emailing corporate office regarding this. Have not heard a peep. Called the store 1/2 hour ago, no answer.. Phone rings and rings. Again.. amazing. Go on the Jennifer site, no phone number, have to contact via email. Does this store even have phones??? So bottom line - if you want to be lied to, conned and ignored, def go to Jennifer and buy a sofa bed. Now I have a sofa bed I can't sleep on. Oh and the woman who I spoke to asked me "Can't you put a memory foam topper on it?" Sure if you'll BUY it for me!!! Totally disgusted.

    Purchased group and, since they don't provide any stain and repair coverage, purchases an extended warranty which promised they would send techs for repairs or stain removal.

    Pictures submitted show the set after about 2-3 weeks after delivery.

    The set came in with cushions that looked bad, lumpy, and not at all acceptable. In addition, one piece developed 2 mysterious stains within weeks. The workmanship was terrible with widths not matching, gaps, and other visual issues.

    All we wanted was the stains cleaned and the lumpiness in all the cushions fixed.

    Setting up a service appointment required almost a month each time and we weren't allowed to set up an appointment until the stuffing (ordered by their techs) came in.

    Each order took 2-3 weeks to deliver.

    First time one box came in. Obviously not enough, we had to order more. Tech agreed and said the stuffing was incorrect anyway. He ordered more and (we thought) corrected stuffing. Another box came in and we made another tech appointment.

    Another box came in of the same stuffing.

    Throughout all of this (which started 6 months ago) trying to deal with "Customer Service" has been frustration level 100. They didn't believe us when we repeated what the techs said. Denied that the stuffing is incorrect.

    We were being led in circles, not knowing what was true and what wasn't. When we told them that what they sold us was not the quality we expected from Jennifer and that if these issues were not fixed, we would want to return the set and get our money back. They told us that was not going to happen.

    Finally, to add insult to injury, 2 days prior to the last service appointment we set up, we got the expected phone call to give us our "window" of when the tech would arrive. The call was to cancel the appointment. Their tech "would not be in the area" on that day.

    In summing up: inferior merchandise, a non-committal extended warranty, topped off with customer service that has no right to call themselves that, and 6 months of nothing being done about the issues, those so far has been our experience with Jennifer.

    Instead of just replacing the cushions and satisfying a simple customer request, they are willing to spend man-hours with tech visits that likely far exceed those costs.

    Instead of good will, they are willing to extend lack of service that is eating up the extended warranty they sold us.

    One of the worst customer service experiences we have ever encountered. We have another service appointment set up for next week. Cant wait to see what happens next.

    I ordered furniture and 2 bed sets from Jennifer Convertibles April 4th 2015 and I really regret that decision. It's May 26th 2015 and we have not received our furniture yet. My family and I decided to move to Florida from NJ and the store managers guaranteed that we were going to receive our order by May 4th. It was a long wait but we thought it was reasonable considering that our order was coming from NJ. May 4th came and went and the managers said that since our order was so big the delivery guys needed to get a bigger truck since they were doing other deliveries in Florida as well. I said "fine, when is the next truck coming?" and the managers replied "we don't know".

    I had to call them back several times throughout this month of May and it came to the point where as soon as they heard my voice they immediately hung up. My family and I had to buy blow up beds to sleep on and our house is still empty because we ordered most of our furniture from them. WORST MISTAKE EVER. I called again. Finally one manager answered and said our furniture is coming on May 25th. We called a few days before to confirm and again they said that the drivers were not ready yet. We asked when is the next shipment gonna be and they said June 5th but they are not sure. This is ridiculous.

    I asked for my money back because I already paid this whole order in FULL and they claimed they cannot do that because IT WOULD BE A LOSS OF MONEY TO THEM. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! My back has been hurting every night from that blow up bed and it's just embarrassing that my family has lived here for a month with an unfurnished house. After more yelling the manager said "we can give you back 30% of what you paid because technically it's not our fault the truck could not hold your order". This is unbelievable. I then proceeded to call headquarters but of course there's no answer. I have left several voice messages and still have not gotten any reply. This entire company is so unprofessional.

    Ordered furniture in Dec. of 2014 in the Coram showroom with a deal I thought was great. Was told by the salesman that I would receive within 3-5 wks. 5 wks go by and I'm told, "There has been a delay of 3-4 wks, now the ETA is Feb. 25." I walked into the showroom on Feb. 24 only to be told "Sorry, the recliner and chair you ordered is discontinued!" Plus, the coffee and end tables I wanted were never ordered at all! Unbelievable. So, I started contacting VPs of Sales and managers and ultimately canceled my first order. Received an email on March 3rd saying, "Please accept our apology, go to our Farmingdale showroom and pick out another recliner," which I did. Also chose another bedroom set. This time the eta was around April 3rd.

    April 3rd rolls around, and again: "Sorry, we're having manufacturer and warehouse problems. Hopefully by May 3." May 3rd came and went and was told: "2 pieces are missing from your set, maybe by May 9th!" By this time, with customer satisfaction and trust completely gone, I canceled and asked from my deposit to be refunded. There seemed to be a lot of disorganization, misinformation, no follow-up and possibly the WORST customer service I've ever received in a retail store. Please spare yourselves the frustration of shopping at Jennifer Furniture.

    At 9:34 am on 4.17.15, the contracted delivery service arrived to deliver the furniture that was scheduled for re-delivery today. The 1st attempt (4.10.15) resulted in a refusal since the pieces didn't fit in our elevators and no one even mentioned to us to take that into consideration (the sofa sectional is 120" x 89"). So I was told I needed to pay an additional fee of $250 for redelivery and disassembly per piece! I was told the chaise would fit but the sofa needed to be taken apart. The 2nd delivery attempt failed as well because they took apart the wrong piece and then again requested I pay yet another fee for redelivery and assembly for the other part... It has now been 11 weeks since we placed the order and paid in full when it was promised to us in 6-8 weeks time.

    This entire experience has been a nightmare and at 37 weeks pregnant this is the absolute last thing I need. I am in no position to plan anything or schedule anything further considering the fact that I may give birth any day now and almost did so this morning in my building lobby. That's obviously something that wouldn't be ideal for anyone involved here. I cannot afford to take another, yes a 3rd, day off from work for this, especially since it is not a mistake on my part and I have been nothing but cooperative and understanding throughout this entire ordeal.

    Some points to consider: 1. We were in and out of the showroom in less than an hour. 2. We paid in full on the date of purchase with no demands, perks or freebies (2.4.15) 3. We patiently waited 10 weeks for a delivery that was promised in 6-8 weeks. 4. After the 1st unsuccessful attempt we further agreed to pay an additional service fee for the disassembly of the SOFA as clearly stated in the notes of PO. 5. Took yet another day off from work to accommodate the redelivery only to be disappointed yet again by a failed attempt and clear error made by someone other than us. 6. Not only were we let down a 2nd time, but I was spoken to very rudely by the delivery coordinator, and was TOLD that the delivery guys are being released because I was wasting their time! After the District Manager was contacted and involved, all he offered was yet another redelivery attempt. I will be asking for a full refund...
